Need Apple Watch App!!!. Update 4: Bring back the Apple Watch app and fix the issue where is forgets the connection most of the time and makes you open the phone app defeating the purpose of of the watch app. Please enable Siri Shortcuts! Update 3: Now has Apple Watch App but I really would like Siri Shortcuts enabled. I would like to raise my wrist and say “start my truck” into my Apple Watch using a Siri Shortcut! How awesome would that be! Update 2: still no Apple Watch app. Now I would like Siri Shortcuts. I want to raise my wrist and say “start my truck” into my Apple Watch using a Siri Shortcut! How awesome would that be! Update: still no Apple Watch app. Now I would like Siri Shortcuts. I want to raise my wrist and say “start my truck” into my Apple Watch using a Siri Shortcut! How awesome would that be! Love the ability to start my truck from my iPhone! Didn’t even know it did this until the sales person was setting it up for me. It would be really awesome to be able to start my truck from my Apple Watch! May purchase a cellular Apple Watch just to be able to do this without my phone nearby. So cool 👍🏻

Newest Update. When I tried to start my car this morning using the app, the start failed all three times. I immediately wondered if there had been an update to the app. It did better throughout the day but when I started the car tonight using the app, it took a while for the app to tell me that the car was actually running and how much time was left. I actually had to look out the window to check. Tonight, I confirmed that this app was updated today. Can Ford please address this newest issue? It would also be beneficial if the vehicle responded a little quicker than it does. Also, I read another commenter’s review. It would be really cool if the climate control was accessible through the app. Overall, I really love this app and the ability to start my car from anywhere, especially with the weather we’ve had lately. I can’t imagine going back to my manual transmission car with no remote start.

Ford Pass is Average at best, needs a lot of improvement!. I have been using Ford Pass with a Mach E, which is advertised as convenient Phone as Key feature. Problems I have encountered are: 1. Ford pass is NOT reliable, it works 70% of time. Other times I could be waving my phone at the door but it would not unlock. I am holding my phone in hand and car would say no key detected! 2. Lock, unlock and remote start features do not work well. I have had issues when I can clearly see my car. It just keeps on thinking and thinking and thinking and error out. 3. Way too many instances showing Ford Pass failed to load. I was told by Ford CS it will do that when you have poor cell signal? While I am standing 2 feet from car and it does not unlock. Very I convenient. 4. Charging status: this one is a crap shoot, I think it only works like 50% of time and does not provide much useful Information. And at times it will get stuck on previous charge cycle. Most times the current charged state of car battery will not update even after I have close (swipe out the card) and reload the app! I have tried calling Ford customer support they are good to work with if you have a question. But if you are trying to tell them something they should improve they cannot find right person I should talk to. Hopefully they improve the app soon or I will ditch it and the car for a Tesla!!!

Doesn't work consistently. For some fun reason, my car started and ran through a quarter of a tank of gas Wednesday. I had a phone call and the phone offered to connect to my Ford, so I looked at the app and it gave me the option to "Start Engine", so I decided it was a fluke and my car was not, in fact, powered on. I walked out for lunch and did not Start the vehicle remotely and there it sat, running. My gas tank confirmed it had been on quite a while, but the app still showed the engine was not started. What if it had been the middle of the night and in my garage? This is incredibly dangerous!!! I don't have a key fob that turns the car in- this app is the *only* way I can remote turn the car on. What is going on? Also, why is my phone STILL trying to connect to my car that is not engaged in any way? Honestly, I thought the app was fantastic. I loved the cool features and options, but this is really dangerous. Also, at least two days a week, I've logged in to see that the app was down and being worked on. I'm okay worth fixing the horrible mistakes the app has seen this well, but I'm starting to wonder if this will ever get completely fixed. I really love this app, when it works. If you need top take it down a WEEK to get it working, do it, but please fix it.

Love my Ford Pass. I happened to be waiting to get the oil changed on my 2012 F150, when I read on the window about earning points towards various things. I downloaded the app & received points for the service done. Then a chain of events happened that I ended up purchasing my grandson a 2021 F150 4x4. The young salesman Ryan was great, but at my age I know that most employees that are good, stems from the boss. But the one who actually made the sale was the manager Lee. My grandson had also downloaded the Ford Pass & got points for his truck. But as fate has it & returned to Pollard Ford 8 months later & purchased a 2021 Escape SE from Ryan/Lee & then I actually got the points for that purchase! LOL I believe there is NO other car dealerships other than Ford that has such a wonderful opportunity to earn services/things through a point system, thank you Ford! By the way, both my grandson & myself LOVE OUR FORDS!!

Needs MAJOR work. Over the past year+ this app hasn’t changed much. Throughout various updates and “bug fixes” I still have the same problems. Half of the buttons don’t work. I select schedule service, nothing happens. I select find another dealer, nothing happens. The only things that work are the readout stats and turning the vehicle on, however, even that fails 15% of the time or takes a couple of minutes to actually do it. My phone is up to date and is new so I know that’s not the issue. When I first got the app I remember it was rated 2-3 stars average. I’m happy to see that has changed but it really doesn’t mean anything because I still have the same problems. Please make the app useable. There are a lot of convenient and great features I would love to take advantage of but instead they’re just sitting in the palm of my hand mocking me. It’s quite annoying to have a smart oil sensor equipped in your vehicle and to have your phone tell you to schedule service through the app and then not let you do anything but stare at a screen that has the info of your dealers service hours. Edit: it’s just getting worse. Down to 2 stars now. Make your app work. It’s pretty simple. Honestly making me regret ever buying a ford.

Lacks quality and features (F-150 Lariat). I like the ability to start (and schedule start) remotely, even though sometimes it doesn’t work, and that’s about it. Vehicle status lacks the simplest but important thing: LOCK status. I open the app I wanna see if my truck is locked or not, in case I forgot to lock it. It would be awesome to be able to set climate temperature and seats (heat/vents) remotely too. Also status if any windows are open. Ford should look into Tesla app and get ideas. Recently added security alerts feels buggy. First of all you have to be inside your vehicle to set the schedule for alerts, otherwise I kept getting an error. Then after I set the schedule to be notified if my doors are open during nights I still get the notifications every time I open a door no matter day or night. Maybe because I got spoiled by Tesla app, but even their app is not perfect, and Ford being such huge company has no excuse to have such low grade app. Love my F-150 and hope this app will improve a lot very soon.

Worthless if you can’t use per Dealer. I am reviewing again now at 2 stars where previously I reviewed at 5 stars. I’ve owned my vehicle for going on 2 1/2 years now with no issues, but within the last 2 to 3 months my Edge has constantly been losing voltage from the battery till it is dead. I initially thought it was the battery being that it was over two years old so I replaced with a brand new battery from dealer. After experiencing the exact same issues with the new battery I thought it might be an electrical issue so I took it to my local dealer to have it looked at under warranty. After having the vehicle for two days, they called to say the vehicle was completed. Upon arriving to pick up the vehicle I am told that they could find nothing wrong with the vehicle. They asked if I was using the FordPass app? I answered that I was and they advised that I uninstall the FordPass app and do not use it. The battery drain can be caused by excessive calls for data through the vehicles network keeping it in a activated state, causing the battery drain. What use is an app that Ford highly recommends and promotes as a selling point for the ease of use for their vehicles if it causes excessive battery drain till dead even with driving daily. Please fix this issue Ford or don’t promote FordPass as an incentive to Ford ownership.

Tricky to use. Glitchy. Really glitchy. No recharge planning for trips.. Does more than others except Tesla, but this app must do much more functionality to compete with Tesla. And they really need to get rid of the daily glitches. After a recall, the phone as a key is still unreliable and other app functions may or may not work. Random changes to most settings are totally annoying. Radio comes on to Ford’s choice of input. Random ads appear on the screen. You can’t plan a long trip that takes charging stations into account. Does not update charging status until charge level is reached. Cannot use advertised features such as setting the desired charge level from the app. (Indeed, it is trIcky to set the desired charge level from the screen, since it is tied to time of day charging.) Not to mention totally bogus collision alerts - I once had it slam on the brakes with nothing in front of me. Some of these problems are probably not related to this app, but part of the Mach R OS. Overall, we love the car but this app is very weak.

Minor tweaks. Overall great concept. But I do have a few suggestions. Ranging from seemingly easy to do but low in user satisfaction to what seems like something very difficult to do, but would be great for the end-user. To begin I think there should be a shortcut to see exactly how much battery charge there is left in the vehicle. By shortcut I mean, just a long press of the app on the home screen which would reveal a quick pop-up of to things like powering on or off your vehicle, or again, how much range remains before needing to be recharged. Something difficult to do in my opinion but would be amazing would be climate control from the app or enabling the camera to view what’s going on around your car when you’re not there. Truly a 4 1/2 ⭐️ app but I’m going to give it a 2 just to get someone’s attention. A quick sidebar, I don’t know how many people actually try to turn on their car or lock or unlock the doors. But I know I check my battery remaining range frequently. To be able to look at my watch and know exactly how much charge do I have left would be amazing.

Great functionality, UI could be a bit more intuitive. As a fleet driver, I didn’t get the usual sales Pitch when I picked up my F150 a few months back. I found this wonderful tool just in time for summer in Florida. Getting into a pre cooled vehicle is an awesome luxury. The UI is pretty good, but some things take a minute to find. I have yet to have an issue with the core functionality (lock / unlock & remote start) however the app itself “lags” at times. It’s rather minor but worth mentioning. Buttons will sometimes take multiple taps to get a response. I’m running FordPass on an iPhone XR. Overall an excellent app. Hopefully they’ll continue developing it. More security functionality (view from APIM?) would be cool. Another idea would be a feature that in the event of theft, you would have the option to deploy the airbag in the face of the theif. Maybe one of those Japanese ones that fires shrapnel. That would be cool. Huhuhuh

Worst Roadside Assistance I’ve Ever received. A woman stuck in the dark of a parking lot called in for roadside assistance or rather I did it online and was told in the message back who the roadside assistance tow company would be; given the wrong phone number and was told that they would be there seven hours later at 2:55 AM when I called it in at 7:00 PM. When I try to call the phone number that they gave me for the tow company, you got a recording saying it was not a valid phone number. I had to look online and find the phone number to the tow company who verified they had my ticket and would be there within an hour. However they told me that the Ford dealership it was being towed to did not have overnight drop off service.I then called Ford pass and ask them to switch the towing from going to the car dealership to my house which was only 5 miles away. They told me that would not be covered by the insurance. My sister had to come and get me and I left my car in the parking lot. One of the worst service as I have ever received from a 24 hour roadside assistance company

Drains phone battery. I just got the app 4 days ago with my new car and it’s got awesome features and I really want to use it, but I can’t. It drains my battery with “background activity” 1% every 2 mins. Even with my phone screen off and half the time won’t let my battery fully charge.I have had to turn off pretty much ever feature to try and stop this and next step is to delete the app from my phone. I turned off the precise location feature, cellular data, notifications, fitness and motion iPhone feature, only allow location if it asks me because not even the only while using setting worked, and I turned off all background activity from all apps and yet I’m still getting background activity from this app. I deleted and reinstalled it and am fully charging my phone because it stoped at 76% last night. Thankfully I’m not working today. I’m testing it today, but I don’t have high hopes. I’m most likely going to have to delete it which is a shame. I really do wish I could use it to its full potential.

Works sometimes, not dependable. I have iPhone 6s, iOS 12.2, and possess technical knowledge. App works sometimes, displays incomplete data at other times. 1) when I open app and view “Vehicle Details” the app states the preferred dealer has not been selected. Then 5-8 seconds later the screen changes showing my preferred dealer information, as if there is something prohibiting it from displaying initially, 2) vehicle mileage under “Vehicle Details” is displayed sometimes and more times not. This is a nuisance as I use the data for expense reports and other purposes. I have to write the mileage down prior to exiting the vehicle or make a trip to the garage to retrieve mileage when needed. Can not understand why or how this information disappears or is often times not provided. My phone and app are connected to vehicle by Sync 3 daily, Sync software is current, thus a good connection is active. I have taken measures to delete app, reset phone, reinstall FordPass app, and it works well for a short period of time and then repeats items 1) and 2) as mentioned above. Good app, just wish it would provide complete data. Note, my vehicle does not support remote start, lock/unlock features.

Hard to close your account. I closed my account on the app due to metadata privacy concerns months ago,and received a confirmation email that my account was closed. Fast forward to a few weeks ago I received a email stating I have reward points, I called Ford and the agent tells me that my account is still active, so I ask for my account to be deleted. The agent tells me I will receive a call once my account has been deleted and gives me a case number and within 72 hours I will receive a call this has been done, it has been well past that now. If you are ok with your data being sold, cool enjoy the app it works great, if you have concerns about your data being sold then be careful and make sure you document your account cancellation as this appears to be a very difficult process and they do not keep records of you attempt to close your account through the app( the agent said their system showed no info on me closing my account on the app and asked if I had a case number from using the app, which may have happened but I assumed the cancellation email was enough and did not write it down). Be careful!

It wants to know your playlist. This app has the potential to be a good app, but it constantly wants you to opt out of it reporting back to Ford what apps you use on your phone because it is connected to your truck and what apps it wants to interface with with the truck. With used with iOS, it constantly sets ring volume to max and on disconnect does not set it back. When using the remote start on this app, it will only let you start it twice, so if you are in a work environment where you have to remote start and leave your truck started to provide power for other things, you’re out of luck. Furthermore, when interfacing with Bluetooth to use your iPhone, it takes multiple seconds for the microphone to sync up before you can start dictating a message, or answer a phone. The Ford pass app on your truck and your phone also wants to report your driving habits. How hard you accelerate, how often you accelerate, and how hard you brake, even how hard you take corners, are all reported back to Ford. What uses these have is still up for debate and will probably be be hammered out in a legal fashion in the future. But it’s just beyond the call of necessity. If this trend stays in this direction, it will not only be the last vehicle app I use on my phone, it will be the last new Ford that I purchase. Goodbye, Fordpass.

Helpful information. Like the all the details provided about vehicle, but last update under "Vehicle" now no longer provides Tire Pressure. Tire Pressure was an important element to monitor your tires. Please put Tire Pressure back under "Vehicle". My old Ford vehicle traded in last year at the same Ford Dealership for vehicle I have now has a Recall showing for it. The App has no way for me to delete the recall notice for the car traded in. Please add a way to delete a recall notice on previous car. Other than that, a great App to monitor your car. A day after leaving my review, the Tire Pressure is now back under "Vehicle" information. As I just received feedback from Ford, stating they will look into why Tire Pressure no longer shows it maybe was a glitch. But all good now. Ford also provided information on how to address Recall notice on car no longer have. Fords timely response indicates, Ford wants this app to be useful to Ford owners.

Unreliable. I have had this app for a few weeks due to my recent Mustang Mach-E Purchase. Overall I’ve found the app to be unreliable. The app should allow my phone (iPhone 12) to behave as a key fob, but unfortunately that’s the most unreliable part. Sometimes it will work flawlessly and other times I can’t even get the car to start with my phone inside. (Updated, several months later, issues continue) I always keep FordPass open (as recommended) but the system is just terribly unreliable. For this reason, I never choose to use Phone as a Key, I always carry the fob with me (which in itself defeats the purpose of this app). The app also has very limited settings for app notifications. Every time I park my car at home, I receive a notification that my car “arrived home” - however this notification arrives 30+ minutes after parking and departing the vehicle. To make matters worse, there is no setting to remove this type of notification - I have to just deal with these late and useless daily notifications. (Updated below) Overall, much to be improved. ___ I’ve now owned my Mustang Mach-E for several months and still perpetually disappointed by the FordPass app. The “arrived home” issue was corrected however overall functionality has not improved. Frankly I wouldn’t even feel bothered by the poor App performance if Ford did the right thing in providing two key fobs with the new vehicle purchase.

Good First Generation App. I use this app with a 2022 Ford Lightning. It works well for its intended purpose. I rarely give 5* on apps as there is always room for improvement and this is a first generation app. While the Ford charging network works well for the most part with Electrify America and sometimes ChargePoint with out use of the app, as a practical matter, there are different apps for the various charging providers, eg Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVGO, Shell Recharge, etc. and it would be a home run if the Ford Pass App could act as a universal app for all charging station providers so that Apple Pay or the equivalent could work with every provider with one app (in circumstances where the provider did not automatically synch via the Ford charging network), and so that communications with the charging provider (outages, charger down, connection difficulties) could be facilitated through the app. It is doable but nonetheless a pain to have to use a different app with a different interface for each charging network if you are on a long trip.

Doesn’t work. Updating to 3 stars since the app started linking to my car again. It is pretty serviceable now. Since I have a Mach E this app is more important to day to day operation of the vehicle compared to gas powered cars. We use it to monitor charge status, configure charge settings and to find chargers and/or trip plan. It stall has some bugs. I wish there was a way for users to report bugs. And I wish the support was better. Original 1 star review: This app is ok if it works. Mine worked for about a week before would no longer connect with my Mach E. Called support and waited for 15 minutes to talk with someone whose first troubleshooting step was update my iPhone and call back. Of course that didn’t work. Then spent an hour on chat support this morning trying to get it working. Still not working the chat person ghosted me after I assume they had no more troubleshooting steps to read off their list. Right now this app is trash and the Ford Pass support is trasher for me.

Stuck in a loop - Can’t Use App. I have a plug-in hybrid vehicle. I normally just use the “My Ford Mobil” app which is trailered more for electric/hybrid ford cars. Now, the “My Ford Mobil” app has been decommissioned and when I open it, it tells me that the features have migrated to “Ford Pass” app. Cool sounds good, consolidation, less apps. All for it. But when I add my vehicle to “Ford Pass”, it refers me back to “My Ford Mobil” for more tailored electric car app features. There is no option to continue without opening the “My Ford Mobil” app, which as I stated before, is decommissioned and refers me back to “Ford Pass”… I actually can’t do anything in the “Ford Pass” app at this point except close it after trying to add my vehicle. You can see the loop I am stuck in. I wonder if the features even migrated over. Ford should probably have figured this out before decommissioning the previous app. Pretty stupid that they have a decommissioned app still on the App Store also. I even re-downloaded it and had the same issues. Hopefully gets resolved soon, but for now I see this as a critical error since I am not able to even use the app.

Nice but.... This app is nice and works pretty well but it does seem to crash a lot leaving me without access to its features like remote start. Unfortunately, when it does crash I cannot tell immediately that is has except that it tells me something isn’t right. Then I try to log out and back in to try it again several times unsuccessfully so I just move on with my day at that point. Another thing that doesn’t make much sense is that there are two message streams when my car is communicating with me. I’ll get a message about washer fluid being low in my messages and then I'll also get a little yellow dot on the “my vehicle” tab telling me the same thing and it won’t clear out until I refill the washer fluid even if I check the message. It would also be nice if the settings in my car are used when remote starting the car like turning on my seat warmer. I like the app and use it regularly but these are improvements that would make it better. Thanks!

Works Great (Could be Improved). The app works great to remote start your vehicle, lock/unlock doors, check mileage, oil life, tire pressure, and distance to empty. You can even schedule your vehicle to start at a certain time. The app provides easy access to Ford dealers and can even help summon road side service. Some possible improvements: There is a lot of information available through the app, but it’s mostly generic. You have to sort through it to find what you need. In todays world, it would be so much better if the app would parse and tailor the information to your particular vehicle and its current mileage. Such as a list of services required at your next oil change, based on your mileage - not just what’s required for every vehicle at every mileage point. In addition, there is no way to check to see if your doors are locked. You must actually send a lock command each time you want to know if the doors are locked. Also, a panic button that sets off the horn and flashes the lights during an emergency. The app could also allow you access to a vehicle specific owners manual, giving you easy access to specifications like fluid types and levels, light bulb requirements, etc.

A work in progress. I’m writing this as constructive criticism, not a complaint. I feel like this is still in beta testing, especially the watch app which tells me that I need to connect to my phone even though it’s in my pocket and connected. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and feel like it shouldn’t take as long to start the app as it does. It usually takes anywhere from 10-15 seconds to completely open and be ready for use. Might sound petty but when I’m trying to start the truck while doing something else before I leave it’s seems like a long time. I’m sure it will evolve over time but it does need a fair amount of work to bring it closer to a “version 1.0” in my opinion. 2.10 update — app acts like it’s opening but then returns to home screen. It stays open in the background but when selected it does the same thing again. Closing the app nor restarting the phone did anything. 2.20 update — app works much better now. Snappier and more streamline. Will there be any support for Siri for the app itself? Such as “How much gas does (car name) have?”, “how much oil life does (car name) have?”, “Start (car name)”, “set start schedule for (car name) for...”

Handy app - until you become a criminal. Been using this app since I bought my then new 2019 vehicle, and been inside a Ford since the 70s. Loved the convenience of a mobile remote control. Until all of a sudden I became a criminal. That is how I felt when my access to the app got suspended. Out of the blue, a cryptic IBM email with the Ford name as part of the sender name, and its content stating “disabled: true”. My app logged me out, and did not let me in. Changed credentials to no avail. And then the saga began. I called FordPass to find out what just happened. For the next two months and a half, every time I called I was asked if I used any third party service to control my vehicle. Every time I stated I had not and I don’t know what is this about - and I still don’t. And every time they would “check and return me in a few days”, never doing so. By the end I was agreeing with them and saying I had been using whatever they were claiming and I was sorry, so the beating would stop and they would let me use the app I had for 40+ months. Lots of beating and calls later, I got my access recovered, via another cryptic IBM email message. I’m still not sure what the H happened and still not sure when I’ll go thru this again. All I know is that I’m sure thinking where I’m heading on my next vehicle. With such criminal experience, that was my last Ford.

Works well but needs a redesign. The FordPass app is by far the most reliable vehicle app I have used other than Tesla’s, and it functions as intended and expected. The reason I left 4 stars is because this app has looked the same and has almost the exact same number of features for what seems like forever. I own an F-150 Lightning and Tesla’s app makes this app seem lacking. I’d love to see air conditioning controls, a way to control my windows, sunroof and shade, seat heating/cooling, control charge limits, send navigation, and start the vehicle for another driver. FordPass also looks dated and should get a new ui. BMW, Volvo, and Tesla have apps with great ui, with sharp graphics and clean yet simple user experiences. I’d love to see these improvements to the FordPass app with an overhaul. It’s a great app but it really needs a redesign. I hope this review helps make Ford deliver even better products and experiences in the future.

Draining battery on IPhone. Update: 1/8/21 Received an email and the app updates claim it has fixed the battery draining issue with iPhones. The update does not work and is continuing the drain my battery. It’s disappointing that a company the size of Ford cannot fix this issue which has been going on for almost 4 months now. This is now my second review since the release of IOS 14. Can the developer please explain why this is taking so long to fix this issue that is draining the battery on IPhones. You have had a couple of updates over the past few weeks and none seem to work. I delete the app off my phone and then see that a new update has come out. I then reinstall the app hoping the update fixed the issue and then so disappointed it still continues to drain the battery. Please make this a priority on your next update.

Worst App Ever…. Every time I try to use the app to start my car or unlock it I get a message that says “your vehicle is in a deep sleep mode and connectivity temporarily unavailable. Manually turn on your vehicle to deactivate this mode.” This happens every time I turn the vehicle off…within minutes! This temporary has been temporary for several months now! When is this going to be fixed? Update on my comments about a month ago… I searched the internet and found what the problem was! The problem is with the battery monitoring system. To reset it on a lot of Ford vehicles you press the start button or turn the key flash the bright lights 5 times and then press the brake 3 times wait for about 10 seconds and you’ll see the battery on the dashboard blinking this indicates the the battery monitoring system has been reset. Since I’ve done this I’ve not had ANY issues with the app and my handles with now lock without using the key. I don’t knows of this will help anyone, but thank you Ford for your wonderful help with this issue on the app and locking/unlocking my car using the touchpad on the door handle.

Doesn’t “work perfectly” as some suggest. I like the app, I really do. Using it to start my truck when my key fob is out of range is fantastic. It’s also very nice to see status updates concerning my vehicle. Where it needs SIGNIFICANT improvement is redeeming Ford pass rewards, and chatting with a Ford rep for help. Yesterday I had to get my oil changed for the first time since buying my truck. My Ford pass told me it was due, which was nice. When I get to the shop to have it changed, I can’t figure out how to “pay” for it using my Ford pass rewards. The service tech must’ve been new because he didn’t know either. So while I’m waiting in the lobby, I keep trying to figure it out, but each clicking attempt I made eventually took me right back to the beginning. It was a constant circle of trying to redeem my rewards points. I attempted to chat with someone through the app but that feature was so broken, the typing window was blocked on the bottom by the reload and go back bar, so while I saw the rep chatting to me, I could never respond. I have an iPhone XR btw. Finally I ran into the general manager who is a friend of mine, and he talked to the service techs to get it sorted. That worked for me but that option isn’t available for everyone. Bottom line is the app developers need to retool reward points redemption and in app chat help to make them work first and foremost, but also make it user friendly.

2019 F150 XLT Regular Cab 4x4. Just bought a new F150 after 13+yrs driving a 350. The technology in vehicles today is astounding, and the FordPass app was a bonus I was unaware of at time of factory ordering my F150. I opted out of remote start option, and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered with the FordSync I can remotely start my F150 anyways. This app has many more functions that are going to be helpful as the app will monitor tire pressure, mileage, and recommended maintenance services. A few more perks will be the ease finding fuel stations, parking, and many other traveling destination needs. I’m old enough to not like all the technology required these days, but I must admit, installing and navigating the FordPass app wasn’t difficult and I’m glad for this feature with Ford. BTW, thanks Ford for still making a regular cab long bed! All the other manufacturers are switching their lines over to the full cab short beds, which look nice, but are totally useless in home construction!

Lots of glitches. When it work, it works well. When it doesn’t work - there’s no point in having it. Can’t lock or unlock or start the car. The idea of this is app is super helpful and handy - but the glitches make things SO inconvenient and worrisome. I have a timer set to start my car Mon-Fri at 8:10am so it’s warm in the winter before I leave for work. Today while at work, I checked my phone and have 37 notifications that my car started successfully between 10:10am-11:20am!!!!! I didn’t notice these until almost noon so when I went out to check my car it was cold again and I couldn’t verify (and neither could FordPass customer support/guide) if it actually started that many times. I’d also say about 20% of the time when I’d like to start my car in the middle of the day, I am unable to due to the app being “down temporarily”. This would be a GREAT app if it the autostart functionality worked better and any “down time” was communicated in advance - either by a pop up message or notification in the message center.

Remote start rarely works. I like the concept of being able to schedule starts and it has a further reach than the keyfob remote starter. Those aren’t useful though when the app doesn’t work. I had weekday scheduled starts set up and every day the app would tell me my car was started. I’d look out my window and half the time my car would not be running. Then the app just decided I needed to leave the house earlier and rescheduled my start for an hour earlier. It wouldn’t let me edit the time so I deleted the scheduled start and tried to re-add it. It will no longer allow me to schedule a start. I keep hitting the “save” button but nothing happens. When you have an app that effects the function of peoples cars, you should make sure it works. I live in Michigan, do you know how awful our winters are? Remote start is essential. Really wish I had my old car with the keyfob that worked. Update:I went to start my car this morning (morning rush hour time) and the app was offline for maintenance. They’re doing maintenance during peak use time?! I am currently sitting in my car waiting for it to defrost. I am no longer a loyal Ford customer

Nice when it works. Have a 2018 F150 lariat; bought in August 2018. Apples worked flawlessly until this past weekends where the clocks changed. After that? Disaster. I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall the app probably 20 times and it’ll work for a day or a couple of hours and then not work for another couple of days. At first, the problem was it wouldn’t let me adjust the time that my scheduled start was supposed to happen. When the clocks changed, for whatever reason the time in the app went forward. It was originally set to start at 8 o’clock but with the clock changes the app actually changed the time setting to be 7 o’clock and my truck would start at seven in the morning. I had to uninstall and reinstall it for two days before the app would actually allow me to change that setting. For whatever reason it wouldn’t save, wouldn’t allow me into the setting etc. now, it’s telling me that my truck can’t use FordPass app at all! Another series of uninstall reinstall, and nothing. So frustrating! While I’m super excited that we have the ability to use an app to manage our vehicle, what good is it if half of the time the darn app doesn’t work?!

Battery Killer! Worr. This application runs in the background if you forget to force close it. I don’t mean swiping up to get back to the Home Screen, I mean the “control, alt, delete - end task” version on your phone EVERY SINGLE TIME you use it. It causes our phones to overheat and die...FAST. It’s cool and works great WHILE using, but honestly it isn’t worth the headache. When you go to pull your phone out of your pocket so you can use the app, your phone will probably be dead because of said app. They recently updated the app and the update pop up said something along the lines of “there’s been a fix!” Negative. Same problematic app just with a new visual layout. With the amount of heat this app makes our phones produce I would expect with regular use of the app, battery deterioration will occur. I really do hope Ford focuses on correcting this data error in their application, because I’m starting to lose faith in their reliability here. I know Ford is a automobile manufacturer and not an application based company , but if you’re going to make a product (any product) and tell us it’s corrected when there’s plenty of complaints, and no change has been made...makes me wonder if this is going to be a preview of my future with my truck; frustrating, problematic, and possibly unreliable?

Enhancements Request. Overall I like the app, it’s really cool to have an app for this in general and I like a lot of the features it has such as locking doors, starting vehicle, tire pressure and mileage. Please enhance in the following way: -entering vehicle details should be by swiping, I don’t want to swipe to add a new vehicle, people generally do that once -I want to be able to swipe down to refresh my vehicle details, app wise that is pretty standard and much more user friendly than trying to push that little button that you can never tell if it took your touch -also would be nice to see a status of door locks outside of when you lock them from the app -would be nice to have a notification if the doors were unlocked when the fab is not next to the vehicle, like if you bumped the unlock button on the fab in your pocket without knowing -is there anything on the app that will notify you if your alarm is going off or anything relating to security? Thanks much!!

Severe lack of customer service. So I’m not one to normally write reviews about an app, but after dealing with an issue for over two weeks and receiving literally no support over the phone, because they don’t take phone calls anymore, and if you enter the chat system you Kit people that don’t pay attention to any of your questions or offer any type of assistance. I’m gonna be honest I am regretting buying a Ford vehicle due to this application. Don’t get me wrong I have had a few issues with my new vehicle as well but doubled with the Ford pass up this is an unbearable experience. The lack of customer service from the dealership as well as on the back in with her application is absolutely ridiculous. I actually had someone tell me one time that you bought a Ford, not a Lexus or a Mercedes. I’m gonna remember that as I progress through this life and next time instead of buying a $62,000 Ford vehicle I will go out and buy $60,000 Mercedes or Lexus because guess what if the service is there that’s where I’m gonna be.

Nice if it worked. The app is handy and a nice feature that comes with owning a Ford ! I constantly get notifications that I have a message on the app, I go to the messages and the preview of them is barely legible, the font is all screwed up and it doesn’t show me what is read or not read . I click on the top message thinking it’s the newest and my notification stays lit up, then I click the next message and so on and so forth and nothing clears the notification icon badge showing I have a new message. The remote start feature is hit or miss and sometimes spins until I have made it to my vehicle and manually started it ! Also Ford can keep their expensive high interest Visa card that I get offers on the app, text messages, emails and in my home mail box and al of these are repeated over and over ! Take the money you spend on trying to get your Visa card out there and spend some of it on a descent app that works ! The appearance of the app and details of the app looks like a third grader developed this thing and functions as such also! I basically gave the two stars because of the idea of it and the fact so far it does remain free ! Thank you for thst !

User agreement?. I you agree to the user agreement when this app updates, you’re agreeing to them to sell your information to third parties so that you can get email solicitation as well as phone calls to try and sell you aftermarket warranties! You’re also agreeing to other financial things! Do you need a freaking attorney to decipher what you are agreeing to just do use a stupid app so that Ford can monitor how you drive your car in where you drive your car as well as the miles you put on your car through your phone! He also monitor how you service your car through your phone or lack of servicing when it comes to litigation! I believe that the contract you signed when you bought your car, as well as opting out to future emails and phone solicitations, should be good enough for Ford but apparently it is not and they have found another way to make money at your expense! Let’s talk about the app! The only way you can use remote start is through this app! Half the time it doesn’t work or recognize you even have a car! The app is a joke and they won’t do anything except blame The cars computer system! I guarantee you that if you bring your car to a dealer they’re not gonna find anything wrong with it however they may change parts and you will still have the same problem as I have read on forms! Fords sink three and Ford pass is a joke!

Get it together. Up until recently I would have given this app 5+ stars... it used to work perfectly every time. In the last month there have been “maintenance in progress” for days on end, depending on what guide you talk to, they don’t know what to say except what is on their script. Once in a while you’ll get someone who is actually knowledgeable and helpful. Or no one answers ( waited for 15 minutes before hanging up) , this in and of itself is unacceptable! Now in the last month it seems it takes forever for the app to load up, or it doesn’t recognize your log in, or it takes forever to start or it doesn’t start at all! I understand the need for maintenance and updates but this is getting ridiculous!! I’m very tech savvy and work as a sales consultant for Ford and I can tell you this is making us look bad especially when you tell your customer that it comes with remote start they can start from virtually anywhere. Now, they are upset because they miss their keyfob remote start because at least with that it was reliable. Customers are NOT happy about this. Get your act together because I know legitimately I know this is a great app when it works consistently! You want everyone to set up their FordPass account and start charging for the use the convenience of remote starting, locking, and unlocking, their vehicles but you can’t even keep the app working or respond promptly when your app is down!

Battery Drain on IPhone. UPDATE! Fixed so far. Go into settings on your vehicle’s Sync and choose Apps. Turn off Mobile Apps Wireless and USB. This stopped Ford Pass from draining my battery. I remember turning this on when Sync updated and that is when the problems started. App is very convenient and I really like having it so Please Fix before Apple permanently blocks your app for ruining everyone’s IPhone. I will pickup my IPhone 11 and instantly know Ford Pass is draining my battery because it’s so hot. My phone will be almost dead and sometimes won’t even charge because Ford Pass has been running for hours in background. I have turned off Background Refresh for all apps since Ford Pass in not listed. I can force the app closed and it still keeps going. I can reboot the phone to stop it but as soon as I use the App or connect to my Truck there it goes again. I have deleted the App and reinstalled but still same problem. Rebooting my phone every time I use the app or drive my truck is STUPID. I am using IOS 14.1 on IPhone 11 with the lastest Ford Pass app.

Great App When it Works. Wow, I read some other reviews and there are really some issues with this app. For me it has mostly worked as it should. Meaning I can lock, unlock and start my truck remotely. Service records have so far appeared as they should. The recall information is worthless. Took the truck in today and was told there was a recall they could fix while I wait, but the recall didn’t show on FordPass. What I have really found useful on a number of occasions is the ability to access the owners manuals from the app. This worked good until the last app update, and now no manuals. Please fix this! Oh, and one more thing. The FordPass “Guides”. I called 3 different times about the owners manual issue, and each time they said wait a minute and they would look into it. They never came back and there was no way for me to communicate with them further. What a joke.

App is ok if smartlink came on the car.. app developers:: why don’t you come up with a fix for this ..... there has to be one! My wife’s explorer which came with this factory installed, has scheduled starts on the FordPass app. My Flex which I added the device to doesn’t let me do schedule starts. This is the issue, I believe: If the car is factory installed the app knows this by the VIN #. This is the case for my wife’s explorer. In the FordPass app the home page (move screen) for my wife’s car shows quick link buttons over the pic of the vehicle for lock, unlock and start. If you go into vehicle details you can schedule starts. My vehicle doesn’t show the buttons (because it thinks I do not have the smart link installed) because the VIN tells it it wasn’t factory installed. So in order for me to access smart link features I have to swipe and then the app uses a backside entry to the website. It’s not displaying in the app, just displaying a website within the app. The website doesn’t have scheduled starts. Period. I think ford either needs to create a database which can update VINs that have this installed by the dealers to allow the app to recognize that it has smart link OR they need to add the functionality to the website it uses to load up smart link on the app. When will this issue be addressed so I can tell people how much I love the smart link and help you sell more devices????

Peggy. I've been buying Ford's for many years and never had any problems with any of the Fords I ever owned. Now I have a Ford Edge 2019 and I love it. I had a 2012 Ford Edge sel and it was a great car. The inly thing I do not like is all the electronics that we never needed before and don't need now. I don't like anyone knowing where I go so I leave my phone home. That is the only thing I do not like. Why doesn't Ford make their own chips instead of getting them from China. I would much rather the cars and truck go back to the old way you made cars without the electronics. Don't need them in a car. My opinion. If they were the way you use to build these cars then you wouldn't have a bunch of Fords on the Kentucky speedway because you wouldn't need any chips. Just start them and go.

Bad app. Where to begin with The problems with this app. If you do not run chrome on your phone this app will cause you all sorts of headaches. Overall the app runs extremely slow. The app will track you all over the place whether you are in a Ford vehicle or not. Once you download the app and input your vin Number the app may or may not work as advertised. For my truck which was a 2020 Ford the app could lock and unlock the doors but could not auto start the engine. I called customer service & about 75 percent of the time I called I got a English as a second language rep and go was difficult at times to understand. Their suggestions were re-input your Vin number and if that doesn’t work start over from scratch woh the app. Trying to reset a password was a headache in itself. I would hit the forgot password button it would ask for my email and then send me a link in that email which would send me back to the original sign-in screen. The rep said I should open the email on a computer and that might solve the problem. I’m like why should I have to go to a computer to reset the password for a phone app it defeats the purpose of the phone app.

Has never worked once. Bought 2018 Platinum a month ago. Quite literally has not worked once. I was able to set up, add vehicle, confirm on Sync screen. Load app, red bar on top says “Something is not right, please try again or contact a guide for help.” Two of three of these are correct. There is a problem. You can try again but same outcome. You can also ask a guide for help, but will receive none. Spent cumulative 4-5 sessions over phone and chat, zero insight into issue. Sent screen shots of the error message to guide’s email at her request, two weeks ago, nothing but crickets. Can’t do any of the 3 functions: start, unlock, or lock. Also reads none of the vehicle data for fuel level, mileage, etc. Whatever small amount of memory space this app takes up on my phone, still a complete waste of space. I’d assume with the price paid for Ford vehicles, a simple app would be a feasible accomplishment. Recent reviews echo my sentiment. Hopefully someone within the development team cares enough to satisfy the several thousand disappointed hopeful users.

Works perfectly. Just bought a new Ford Escape and this app complements it perfectly. Works every time and I use it multiple times daily. No errors or issues Alexa at home integration works 100% of the time too. Remote start schedules work perfectly too. I do wish I could adjust heat/ac within the app. Maybe it’s available on other vehicles and not my SEL trim level. We use Ford Pass to keep our vehicle running while we leave our Great Dane in the vehicle on warm and cold days. Auto climate control ensures it stays one temperature. Built in WiFi allows us to stream a multiple wireless cameras while it runs on auto start mode to monitor him while we are away from the vehicle. The one-touch button to add more run time to the remote start feature is slick. We take our dog everywhere so this is why we mention these features. We have a dog divider to keep him behind front seats, use child locks to keep him from opening back doors and FordPass locks out the ability for him to roll down windows. After starting FordPass we turn on the radio for him cause he’s spoiled and then lock it with the app, add time to auto start and walk away. I also got a notification in FordPass for a sensor fault and alarm went off notification which I thought was great as well. The sensor fault was due to 6” of snow on vehicle and the alarm notification was due to me exiting vehicle after using FordPass to remote start the suv. Neat stuff.

Service History. Ford decided to help conceal issues with used vehicles by removing the ability to see what work was done in the service history of the vehicle. I spent upwards of 6 hours on the phone with multiple support techs trying to figure out who to talk to any why they couldn’t do it. Then I got to one lady who said “oh yeah if you aren’t the original owner of the vehicle you can’t see the service details. You can only add your own manually from here on out.” So not only was there no reason told to ford employees but all they can tell you is Tough S, should have bought it new. K thanks. Aside from that, they do “promise” that the previous owner can no longer access the vehicle remotely - I made double sure of that and did a full reset of my trucks infotainment as I didn’t trust the “oh trust us even though I can’t explain why” bit. And the apps works after that. Aside from Ford needing to track your every moment it’s a good working app.

You’re Better off Without It. FordPass would be nice if it wasn’t constantly crashing. It runs very poorly on newer iPhones (X style). The app is slow and makes me log in every single time I open it. Considering that I utilize it at least twice a day, that makes FordPass nearly unusable for me. And that’s assuming I make it through log-in. The app refuses to recognize my credentials a good 50% of the time. Why does it need access to FaceID if the feature never even triggers? Initial set-up on my old iPhone 6 was beyond painful. Turns out that it wasn’t just my phone getting old. I love the remote start feature as that seems to be the only only thing that I can rely on. Too bad I have to keep re-syncing it with the car in hopes that one will take. After initial authorization, I shouldn’t have to physically plug in my phone every time I want to add a new start time. The car has WiFi and Bluetooth for goodness sake! Honestly, in the time it takes to load FordPass, I can make make it to the car and physically unlock it. Additionally, I should only have to consent to use of the app monthly, not daily. To top it off, FordPass doesn’t even have a CarPlay app. If all the issues were resolved, the app might be worth using. For now, I would skip it.

Periodically Drained Battery Way Too Fast - Had to Delete. I have no issue with the functionality of the Fordpass app, but it periodically seems to get into a loop where it starts draining my battery way too fast. Multiple times, my battery has been much lower than normal when I finish work. When I check the Battery section of the Settings app, it shows Fordpass as consuming anywhere between 65-90% of my battery for multiple hours, all of it marked “background activity” - i.e. the app wasn't even open at the time. This usage continues until I open and then force-close the Fordpass app. But the problem is I can’t predict when it will happen again. Like it happened today but I never even opened the app in the last 24 hours - I can’t figure out why it started doing anything. It did look like it maybe started after I plugged my phone into my Ford car today - maybe doing that remotely started the app on my phone somehow?? Idk. But plugging into my car and using the Apple Watch complication both seem to start loops that drain the battery very quickly.

Stop Charging Button Does Not Work. 2023 Ford-150 Lightning with extended battery and Ford Pass app. When using Level 1 charging, the “Stop Charging” button on the app Does Not stop the charging. Pressing the button on the app will turn gray as if it is trying to something but never stops the active charge cycle. After several minutes, the button will return to Blue again but vehicle is still charging. All other functions of the app work as expected. Update: although I had tried to stop charging several times when charging at home on Level 1 charging, it appears that the stop charging button has started working now. I contribute this to the most recent update automatically updated to the F-150. The stop charging button works and even presents a resume charging button as well as expected.

Remote lock/unlock. Team the app is great. Not sure if it’s possible would be great if there was a way when you are on the main screen on the ford app that shows lock/start/unlock if the car was locked that icon would be eliminated to show that it’s locked. Understand this might not be possible but other then that I love the app thank you. Regards Lenny

App works only when it wants to. I live in a cold climate so I was excited about the prospect of being able to de-ice the car before heading out. The app works….sometimes. Other times it just doesn’t start the vehicle. Sometimes it works better when you shut the app down the day prior, other times is doesn’t work at all.

Not great. I had to remove app and reinstall to update the app. When it works it’s good, but it’s generally not great quality.

Next Gen Everest. Ford pass is handy and informative but location isn’t always up to date and remote start is hit and miss. Especially when you think your jumping into a warm car and it hasn’t started…thumbs down in the validation team…

Updates. Every time I open the app it always makes me update it, then when I open the App Store it says it’s already updates Please fix !!

Completely Useless App. I got this App in early 2021 when I bought my car. It was extremely limited with the only real features either locate your car or book a service. Now the location hasn’t worked in months. I get an advice that if I download the new App everything will be fixed. I feel that whoever if involved in App development for Ford is a joke.

Ford app on apple. Apple phone and everytime I open app it says I need to update it. I Go to app store, update app, open app, app works. Next time I go to use app, same thing happens. Either apple or Ford need to fix. Not user friendly at the moment.

Update not great. Hey, I’ve had this app for over a year, never an issue. Updated as requested a couple weeks back but I get asked every time I open the app to download the update before I can do anything. Cheers

App review. The App keeps saying I need an update however when I follow the prompts no update is available. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it.

Useless app. Every feature “might work” depending on the day, humidity, time, moon cycle, economy, whether an earth worm has a good day, internet connection, the cars mood, your mood, if it’s too cold or too hot, it’s useless if you need it essentially is what I’m saying. Why not just add a key button

Useless update. Since upgrading from the previous version I can no longer access the zone lighting or the trailer light check on my 2023 Ford Ranger Wildtrak Please fix this problem or reinstate the previous version

Poor Connectivity with Next-Gen Vechiles. Good luck to all that have an iPhone and expect the call not to disconnect from Apple Car Play. Regularly drops for the call and it leaves you scrabbling to get back on the call. This is a risk to driver and the passengers.

Good but…. Everything works well with the app except every time I open the app it keeps telling you that you it needs to update. Even if there’s no update

New update has made it unusable. Despite downloading the latest version, every time I open the app, it tells me I need the new version, takes me to the App Store just to open the app. Once I have it open, it doesn’t start my car remotely anyway.

Terrible App. Not sure how much research went into the development of this, but after 6 months use I can hand on heart say it’s rubbish. To remote start your car, you’d have better luck winning the lotto! Works about 30% of the time - not good enough for a vehicle costing $75k. Please find a fix for this issue & the Sync4 system as well.

What’s the point?. I’m an Australian with a car that doesn’t support the connectivity features. What’s the point of the app. It shows me now details of my car. Like service history and when it’s due. Am I missing something???

Useless. I’m not sure if the app is designed to be completely useless. But it does a really good impression of one that is. I’ve recently updated the app to now have absolutely no information about the car. It is linked to the car but provides no information whatsoever. Brilliantly useless. Gold star Ford!

Fantastic app. Love this app and the ability to wake up my car before I get out for the day. Highly recommended 😊

Still ask for an update even though the new app has been updated!. Updated as requested about a week or two back but I always get asked every time I open the app to download the update before I can do anything. Cheers, John

Just won’t update!. App has been nothing update required for months and months. Update doesn’t get rid of the notification and I have to click to “update” app every time I want to use it. Have emailed for further support with no response.

Ordinary - in the sense of less than good. The app is near useless. It has the feel of something with big plans for the future, released too early, unfinished, unrefined and developed on the cheap by a massive global company because they could rather than they should. Front page a big block of blank space. Reference documentation is just links to web pages that are generic and 98% unreadable in a mobile device. Oil life indicator has nothing to do with the status of the actual oil in the vehicle. Will cut the rant short at this. In all, no value here.

Start hardly works. The app takes to long for the car to start ! Not much differnce from the last app. Sometimes it just won’t respond at all. Disappointed ford I’ve paid 100k for a raptor expect better

Issues since update. I’ve just updated the app, now the app won’t start my car when I try to do it that way. I bought my car new 6weeks ago and had no issues using the app to start the car until I did the update. What’s doing with this now 🤷🏻‍♂️

Remote control. Remote start has little glitches and you have to reload the app. All else works well

Not bad but not great. Some features work well. But the start stop from Apple Watch can be hit and miss. Works some days and not others. Unable to get the zone lighting from the app to work the loading wheel just spins and spins and spins. I’m sure they will fix this with the next round of bug fixes. I can only comment on iPhone and Apple Watch operation with the latest software versions of phone and watch as well as ford pass app.

Remote start from phone should also have temp settings. As the climate control

App overall good but remote start is hot and cold. App is great but the remote start needs work can be hot and cold when it’s working/not working. Like to see what the USA get with points system to buy merchandise etc would be nice. Keep it up Ford

Absolutely Incredible!. Who would have thought we are able to stay in touch with current Oil & Fuel levels by opening your phone! Having the engine warmed prior to driving and climate adjusted, wow, what a game changer!

Bells and whistles. We are very happy with our 2022 Ford Everest EXCEPT for the annoying driver’s door chimes and the horn tooting when you walk away from the car with the keys. Is there any way to disable these?

Ford App easy to use. I’m finding the Ford app easy to use and the remote start feature more practical than I expected.

Will empty your battery. I went for 2 weeks holidays overseas and when I came back the battery of my Ford Ranger was completely flat because of the mobile Ford app being on permanent standby. I charged it for 3 hours and yet I’m unable to start the car.

Won’t activate. Pick up my new ranger today but the app will not activate, have reinstalled app but still no connection, tried to edit my details but the save button doesn’t work

Takes me to the App Store for an update every time. Every time I go to open the app it takes me to the App Store for an update. No update available as it’s up to date. I then open the app through the App Store. What a joke

Unreliable. The app that gives you option to open and close the car has failed a few times now so I think that is useless. Especially when I have to be somewhere

Works 80% of the time. As titles says this app only works 80% of the time, good idea just needs to be worked on.

App doesn’t work properly. Every time I go to use my app which is every day I need to install it > takes me to App Store > open app > then load to us it. Fix it.

Remote start stays in “shutting off in 10 mins”. When I remote start the app stays with the “Shutting off in< 10mins” screen Next time I want to remote start I have to force stop (in iPhone) start app again and then use it, This was not an issue in the old app

Updates seem to be making it worse. I had no problems with this app now after updating it no longer unlocks my car

Great. So easy to use and saves me time every morning

My Ute. My base model Ranger has everything that I need plus more. Bad side is there are exposed wiring harnesses that could have been hidden

Wilson next gen wildtrak v6. I did the update and my zone lighting still doesn’t work it’s keeps saying turned off to save battery Come on ford fix the problem It hasn’t worked since I got the car

Zone lighting not working after update. As above. Should never have been put out to public if not working correctly, old app worked fine Edit. With update it is now working like it should, let’s hope it stays that way!

Updates should be tested. Since the last update every time I go into the app it wants me to download it even if was 5min since the last time I did it. Anything IT should be well tested before it is rolled out.

Don’t change phones on Ford App. Since upgrading to new iPhone I’ve lost all use of this app. After having to re enter all credentials, both account and vehicle, I’m now waiting for ford to activate, taken 2days so far..

Keeps asking to update. Keeps asking to. Update even after I already updated Update** issue fixed they should not ask to update app they should specify to delete the old app first before re installing

Great Ute very pleased. Having a little trouble with the location of the vehicle it can take a couple of hours before I can find the vehicle but overall very pleased with the vehicle thanks Robert

Says I need to download a required update. Every time I open the app it directs me to the AppStore saying I need to update the app for it to continue to work. I have the latest version. Quite frustrating

Kinda works. Every time I open the app it makes me go to the app store to download it but it doesn’t actually download it, it just opens the app. Not the end of the world but I’m guessing this isn’t how it’s suppose to work.

Good idea, bad execution. Simple app with good info. There’s a lot to improve on. I mainly use it for the remote start but it doesn’t connect consistently. This makes it frustrating to use and sees me avoiding the app. I also don’t understand why there isn’t a function to adjust the air conditioning. This would be helpful in the cold months when you want to defrost the cab. Hopefully forward can build on what they have currently.

Useless app. Since updating the app my account doesn’t work anymore every time I try to login get an error “we having technical issues”

FordPass app not will not work??. App doesn’t work on my iwatch? It loads the app on my watch however when I tap it to open it will not open the app, it just crashes??

Ford is unreliable. This app is basically hit or miss, after all the updates I can’t even remote start my vehicle consistently. Ford really lives up to its name which produces unreliable products. I’m not gonna buy their vehicle again!

Add this please. Wish this app would tell you the status of your vehicles doors, locked/unlocked… you can always send a lock command but it would be nice to be able to check.

Stopped working since last update. Doesn’t work since last update - lock/unlock & remote start all unresponsive. Indicator spins for about 60 seconds & then gives a failed to respond error message

Update need for iOS17. Since iOS 17 update the app is a brick! Does nothing, come on Ford you had months to update this.

Ford pass for 2019 F450 Limited. There are many functions that would be nice from a remote application standpoint. Status of windows and the ability to open/close when not in vehicle.

ford pass app. we want more update

When it works. When it works ya can’t beat it Working a lot better now after all the years of being worked on and updates

Battery Drainer. 78% background activity since IOS14

No longer works with sync 3. From day one when I purchased my 2021 Bronco Sport Outerbanks this app worked only half of the time . With the new sync 3 update it simply will not work at all and that is information that Ford Support gave me after spending an hour troubleshooting with them. Ford should be taking measures to fix this

Not ready for prime time yet. Slow refresh, and often requires re-authentication. Also triggers Car Location Update unnecessarily.

Inconvenience. I can’t no longer talk search on my mops because that option is removed also there are no more updates on my vehicle doors open or locked notifications

Eat battery. It’s a useful app, but it drains my phone battery so much as background utilization. And not a little much, like it 75% of my battery usage was going towards this app. As long as Ford doesn’t adjust that I will not download this app again.

Serves little to no purpose. Remotely informs you of the fuel level and tire pressures. So does the info display in the vehicle. Has remote start, so does my key fob. Bottom line it doesn’t offer a single thing for me to go to the trouble of spending time installing this useless app. When Ford first released a phone app it was possible monitor many items such as battery voltage for one. This dumbed down version is next to useless

Fuel Gauge…?. Where’s the “Fuel Gauge” and “Estimated Distance to Empty” in the app version 3.32.0…..???

Absolute garbage - Doesn’t work. This is unacceptable. I bought a brand new 2018 F150 and for over a month this app hasn’t worked at all. All Ford says is that they’re working on it, but have no timeline. When it was working, it's very poorly laid out. I just want my vehicle status and controls to be the first thing I see when I open the app, all on the same tab. It doesn't even show the current locked status of your vehicle. I had an aftermarket version of something similar installed on my car 5 years ago that was miles ahead of this in terms of features and usability. And yes, please add Apple Watch support. It would be amazing to quickly pull up the app on my watch and unlock with a tap.

Oil life monitor. Was this feature removed or just not working anymore? Basically was the only reason I keep this app on my phone

Ford with Alexa. Very disappointed to find that the FordPass app doesn’t work with the Amazon Echo/Alexa in Canada yet. When you pay that much money for a new F-150 truck you expect little things like this to work. Maybe the problem is on Amazons end but I’m pretty sure if Ford asked that they make it happen they would. I’m very happy with the app otherwise and would probably have gave it 5 stars if it wasn’t for this small issue. I was looking forward to adding my truck to my smart home devices before I even decided to buy a new truck only to find out that I can’t.

Drains battery with iOS14. This app is now the #1 battery drain after upgrading to iOS 14. It causes your device to run hot and it ignores your “run in background” setting. I’m uninstalling this app until this is fixed.

Didn’t work. Was working great and loved it …until I had my keys inside and it decided not to work 🫣

App stopped working. App is unable to update and stopped working. So disappointed that I can’t start the truck with this app. I’ve restarted the phone so many times to no avail.

Really needs improvement. Really needs improvement. Again, I am locked outside of my car and I need to put the code in to unlock my car. Still not work. Still not working still not working.

This app is junk.. 2022 f-350 platinum. I have had my truck in to the dealer where they claim everything is updated. I have talked to the Ford app customer support and followed all the instructions. This app will not work with my truck, it worked for my 2020 so I had high hopes. Save yourself the headache and just use the key fob

Doesn’t work !!. My app stop working in my Ford EcoSport 2018, I brought my car to the dealership and they want to charge me $200 just for checking and they don’t give any warranty that the app is gonna work 😡 I’m really mad and disappointed

Constantly disabled. App features disabled multiple times per week due to low battery power. Dealer tested battery and charging system. Said it’s functioning fine.

Hacked. About a month ago I noticed that the app was not connecting to my vehicle. I started getting a message on the app stating the vehicle software was being updated and the app would connect after ten minutes. Tried the master reset on the vehicle which did not work. Called Ford and they had me do the master reset again. This time I got to a point where the app was waiting for authorization. As I’m the only user I should have been able to authorize but Ford found another user had hacked into my account a few days after the app stopped working and now has control of my vehicle. Took the vehicle to the dealer and they did their thing but same issue still. Now they are replacing a module called a TCU. I have a 2018 and that model year does not remove email accounts from the system after a master reset according to Ford. Hopefully when the TCU is replaced that will clean out the hackers email and let me take back control as I found my vehicle had been unlocked and left unlocked over night. Sometimes these cool features can be a curse.

Unreliable. The lock / unlock feature is hit and miss. Currently sitting locked out of my truck with my keys inside. The app successfully locked but now will not unlock after returning.

Remote start. After 12 hours my truck goes in deep sleep. No point in having a remote start. Pointless. Freedom ford won’t help.

Terrible software. Doesn't work. Won't activate even though it's activated in the vehicle. Deal breaker for future purchases of ford products.

Simplistic and Low function App. The pros of the app: it starts the car, locks it and unlocks, shows mileage, tire pressure, oil status and fuel status. The cons: you can’t tell if your car is locked or unlocked, windows are open or closed, door is ajar, your vehicle is running, the temperature inside your vehicle… etc. There is also no information on trips or fuel mileage. There was a Ford widget that someone wrote on GitHub with all kinds of info and Ford disabled the widget. So Ford actually wants the app to stay lacking and weak. Lastly Ford doesn’t have any information on their plans for the app.

Helpful. The app works. It does what its' meant to do. It provides info on what's left in the tank, lock and unlock, you can start it like a remote and information not only on mileage but its location too. Prep service calls, maps for charge stations - not many but it's informative. Quite useful.

Poorly designed. A clunky, counter-intuitive app that is inconsistent. You can set your Mach-E to only charge between certain times using cheap rate electricity. If you set up via the app often does not work, if you set up via vehicle console works fine. Additionally difficult to find functions within the app, not well designed

Battery drainer. This app was working somewhat well then all of a sudden my battery was not holding a charge. I was shocked to see that this app drained 63% of my battery in 4 hours.

Primitive software, reduced features. Disappointing. From the day one, it had a limited functionality, and Ford kept removing features.

Nice but could be better. I really appreciate this app. Two things I would like to see improved is 1. the time it takes to see the location of my car is too long. 2. See the lock status of my doors. But overall it’s a good app. The “no key” feature is awesome. Wish this could be enabled on more than one phone though.

What a Joke. What a joke this app is. I had it working perfect and THAN ford pass would not work because I had to update to the latest operating system which sucks. Finally I updated my phone and I can not sign in. If I want to do a new account I will need a new email as well as my old email is already taken. What a joke FORD

Want km not Miles. Having problem with this app as it will not stay on km after setting it from miles. Always tends to go back to miles. Word are overlapping can’t read some of the descriptions. Other than those problems it’s working fine.

2023 Mustang. Needs more options, are my doors locked, is my roof open, are my windows up, to name a few ideas.

Canadians left cold with no auto start. Just got my new 2017 Fusion we wad with the 2.0l with sync3 thinking this is capable to use the auto start through the app..... well nope sorry yes you can if you are American, Canadians who need auto start in the cold winters don’t have this. But I can see my fuel level! At least that advertisement of the app for my modem and car works. Oh and I can find gas prices. I need the vehicle features as advertised please

Basic. This app needs one important thing. Status of your vehicle. Hyundai has it in there app where it tells you if the doors are locked, if they are open. Even tells you if the windows are down. This can’t be that difficult to implement, can it?

Not working. 99 % of the time it says “fordpass not responding!” For the price of a new truck they need to get their garbage working!!

Missing in the new version. This new version has a flaw. It is now impossible to have real-time tracking of the vehicle's position. It's inconvenient because we have no idea if the vehicle is moving or not. I believe you should restore this functionality.

Not happy. It never works when I need it. My truck is always in deep sleep mode or the app just won’t work

Not ready for big leagues. There are constant connectivity issues with my car. Can’t set departure time from the app (100% failure rate over a 9 month ownership period). Can’t refresh app data without first “locking” the car from the app. It is slow and just buggy. I love my Mach-E and wish I had a solid app to maximize my use and enjoyment. UPDATE OCT 1, 2023: It’s incredibly disappointing to have an app that supports an EV (Mach-E) and have the app développer remove the only charge related display. Now when I change I have no way of knowing anything about charging status because some idiot thought it would be good to remove it. Seriously Ford? Time for me to seriously reconsider a Tesla.

Remote features. Disabled/sleep mode too many times makes this basically useless The remote starts faster Not really sure what benefit this app is. Slow to delete messages Lots of useless messages

Forever Ford. As always with Ford , this app is in your face, inovative and very user friendly. Thanks again and keep up the good work 👍

Not user friendly. I have a Tesla and Mache, so I can compare with both cars and its Apps. The response of Mache Ford Apps always has a delay. Also, every time it said there is an update and it was done, it doesn't say where is the improvement and what benefits to me. It just say "updated"....

Rarely start car. it’s rarely start car and sometimes with version updates it never starts car…

When it works, it works well. When the action actually takes place, the app works well. Love the scheduled auto start times for winter. Biggest issue is that it actually executes commands about 50% of the attempts.

Bad Battery Drain. Since iOS 14 this app is draining my battery and hogging almost 50% of my battery usage per day, and I don’t even have it actively running. Ya it’s a great app, but I actually need to have a running phone to use it not a dead phone. Please, please, please fix you app and soon. As of now I will be deleting this off my phone until it has the next update.

Easy. Recently bought a new ranger and got the ford pass app. It works great; however stated in other reviews, LET US CONTROL THE AIR AND TEMPERATURE. The scedule start stops are amazing but when it’s 80 degrees in the day with the ac and that’s how you get out, at night afterword it may be in the 30s. And if you auto start it can freeze you out. That is my only complaint, something that is not a feature. Great app and use it almost everyday and ruge’s ford is also amazing. Helped me download the app prior to purchase and walked me through everything. My friend who bought one down south, was just told to get the app and log in. Maybe create a tutorial walk through you can start in settings or something. Keep going ford! I’ll always be a customer.

Experience terrible. I’m a certified ford technician. The entire last 3 weeks every car I’m recieving is a “myfordpass” app issue. 2020 explorers. Every. Single. Component in the system is operational, but simply not being able to “activate” with car via app to perform remote start and lock and unlock. We used 5 different phones at the dealership to try and diagnose this issue and all had the same result. Everything functions on the car and not on the phone. I’m a flag rate tech, and this myfordpass app stuff all falls under “warranty”. Warranty flag rate is already crap and doesn’t pay enough. We are basically attempting to fix the car for free because ford doesn’t want to pay us to sit and look at it with no results. My point is that this app is wasting technicians times due to app issues and not car issues. Yes some have car issues but more or less it’s the app. Please fix this Ford. You’re taking $ out of peoples pockets trying to diagnose this stuff.

Weird bugs. Scheduled start feature needs review? The day after a scheduled start, say 7AM, the app shows “next scheduled start” as 7AM, which (fortunately) is incorrect. Touching through that control leads to the scheduled start page where 7AM is listed with a toggle in the off position, implying you can turn it on. That never seems to work however, and I have to delete the start record and add a new one for 7AM. (Also delete is slight hard to find, as the interface doesn’t imply that the start record is clickable.) I also don’t see the point in vibrating the phone when I’ve selected an alert to read. Clearly the app has my attention already. Buzzing the phone is just surprising and I wonder if I just missed something else important while looking at (ahem) Ford marketing “alerts”. Overall the app is helpful. :-)

A few really annoying things but otherwise great app. Overall it’s a great app and I love not needing to carry a key. However there REALLY needs to a a precondition now button for those times you aren’t leaving on a regular schedule (especially in winter when the battery needs preconditioned). The only other issue is that often the phone needs to be up against to door for it to recognize that your “key” is there and even still I may have to push the button to open the door 3-4 times. These are a really inconvenient but don’t stop me from using the app and it does way more than any app my previous cars had. But for advertising that you don’t need a key and can just use your phone, you’d think it would work a little better.

Securtiy Alert. I like the security app but I don’t like the fact that I get alerted on exiting. It is annoying. I know the door is opening. I’m getting out of the car, duh!!! Phone as a key gives an error message when exiting the car. It only happens when the fob is not present. Also every time the app update, I have to delete the app and reinstall it. Not a cool task because after the app is deleted, Phone as a key needs to be activated again. It forces me to carry my fob in fear the app may crash. I’m an iPhone user and other users like me would for you to fix this. Their are complaints in our FB group. Update to secure alert. I’m just sitting in the car and not moving and the rear door said it was open and then the lift gate. There was no movement in the car. Just now it just said the driver door just opened.

Overall the app works great but….. CarPlay has a fault if your playing music from it while trying to use the navigation on the big screen. Scenario: Your driving around listening to Apple Music and instead of using Apple Maps or some other app on the phone you use the stock navigation. Everything at this point works ok but about 45 seconds in to it you start noticing that the directions on the cluster by the speedometer are not in sync with what’s being displayed on the radio. Eventually long enough time passes it slows the entire cluster down to the point all the quick items like tire pressure, trip 1 and 2, off road, etc will reset to factory. Now during this as you see it happen if you pause, select fm or am the cluster and radio re-sync without further issue. If you go back while your nav is still going and start playing must from carplay, problem keeps coming back. So for me until this is fixed and because I tow an rv I don’t use CarPlay while towing. I like using the stock navigation screen for this task and everything needs to function correctly. Hopefully the next software update fixes this issue.

Great to have an app. Just purchased a new EcoSport and just having an app that links to my vehicle is great in itself not to mention being able to remote start, lock and unlock my vehicle with all of my vehicles basic info on it is amazing the only draw backs I have are having to log into the app after a few minutes is pretty annoying, it'd be nice to have a widget for the app on iOS and it’d be nice to have a version of the app dedicated to watchOS that didn’t require me to log in on my device repeatedly to use the features. If the timing between sending a request to our vehicles and then actually performing the request would be amazing.

Ford Pass. Latest “upgrade” was actually a DOWNGRADE...... We travel with dogs and are in Florida often. In the past, we could remote start the car to run the air conditioning or heat. We would begin with 15 minutes, extend for an additional 15 minutes. Then let the session expire. We would remote start a second time and get an additional 15 minutes. Although a cumbersome series of input, it would allow us to visit a restaurant knowing that our dogs were safe and comfortable. NOW, we get the first two 15 minute sessions, then the app indicates that we have to drive the car. It will not allow us to extend or start a new session. In a perfect world, it would allow us to choose a time frame and allow for time extensions if needed. Ford Pass was one of the reasons we chose this vehicle.......

Most recent update broke the app. I don’t normally write reviews but I’m hoping that by doing so it will bring this issue to light. Ever since the last update, the app won’t start my car. All the other features work, except this. The app tells me, “remote start failed, car needs to be driven twice after a remote start event”. My car has definitely been driven more than twice since the last time it worked! I’ve tried everything, force quit the app, signing out and signing back in, deleting and reinstalling the app, doing a master reset of my SYNC system...I even called a FordPass representative and she told me it seems to be an issue on the app’s end; I wasn’t the first person to report this. I know it’s not the biggest problem to face right now, but the weather is getting colder and it would be nice if I had the ability to defrost my car windows before leaving for work.

FIX THE BATTERY DRAIN IN IOS14!!. Edit 9/21: they finally bring back the Apple watch usage, and now it’s just not working at all. Deleted app twice and then couldn’t get logged in, changed password twice and still not logging in (but website logs in fine). Support via Ford was of zero assistance. Tech moving forward and Ford is moving backwards. This will be my last Ford. Edit: have tried two more times, with each recent update, and the battery issue continues. Just like all other recent reviews, iOS 14 and this app DO NOT MIX, at least not on my 11 Pro Max. Once I noticed it had been using 70%+ of my battery I turned off location services and it seemed to have helped. Then they updated the app yesterday, this morning I took it off the charger, and within 10 minutes it sucked 3% and my phone was heating up in my hand. Deleted the app for now. Shame because the weather is cooling off and I would love to be able to use the scheduled remote start in the mornings...Ford, fix this ASAP please!

Battery drain - crazy bad. I complained about this months ago. They either don’t know how to fix it or don’t care. But if your phone is hot and the battery is draining rapidly, go to Settings, Battery and look at which apps are using the most battery. I don’t even use this app each day, but today it somehow is responsible for 73% of my battery usage. I deleted the AP several months ago because of the issue, and it solved my problems. Thought I’d reinstall it this week to see if they had resolved the problem. Nope! I can’t even contemplate how the Ford Pass app is using more battery than all of my other apps combined which I use for hours in total each day. Seriously, fix this horrible app or hire some devs who can. Unfortunately I have to delete it from my phone again and I’ll be back in a couple months to see if they know what’s they’re doing yet. Update: developer reached out asking if I had update to iOS 14.3. I had already updated and experienced the issue on this latest version of iOS.

I’m a Ford tech and like this app. Because I do all of my training through Stars (FoMoCo) I got to learn the ins and outs of this app. In October I had to complete the training for it and was like “this is some propaganda bs” and hadn’t thought about it until the other day. A costumer brought there car in, and when I moved it into my bay it alerted me that Ford Pass was active. So I started thinking about it, then downloaded it. It’s better than what they showed us. I can already use the key fob to start my truck, but it’s nice using your phone. I’m glad they show the scheduled maintenance for your vehicle. As a tech I constantly see vehicles that are NOT maintained properly! I’m hoping this will help those who don’t realize what all needs to be done to keep your vehicle healthy.

It works OK.. I don't know that I think the interface is as user-friendly or as good an experience as it should be, but it mostly works fine. The biggest problem is that I use PAAK. end it pretty much always works. But I have to restart the app pretty regularly. And the dumbest thing is it says "set up phone as a key" when I have to do this, as if I have not, and that message will go away when you restart the app. This would be ludicrously frustrating if I had not just figured that out and had tried to set up the phone every time I saw that message. Because setting up the phone as a key is a pretty involved process. make it more reliable and just as importantly: make it so that it does not make you do things that you don't actually have to do

A REAL Battery Drainer. Bought a new Ford about 4 months ago. So I downloaded the Ford Pass App. Been noticing for the last several months, my new IPhone 11 Pro is burning through my phone battery quickly. So today I look at settings>Battery>battery analytics. It showed Ford Pass using 68% of my batter in the last 24 hours and 71% over the past 10 days. I have “location services” shut off but my phone tells me it’s always running in the background even though I closed it and haven’t used it in over a month. This is totally unacceptable! I’m going to have to delete this Ford Pass App from my phone. The owner of this app needs to look at it. I encourage iPhone users who have this app to check in settings>Battery to see if this app is using YOUR battery. Analytics says yesterday it used 7hours and 57 minutes of my battery. Get this thing off my phone!!!!!

Great App & Great UI. The UI of this app has improved greatly with the past few updates this year. The battery drain issue is gone, and was fixed completely after updating to iOS 14.3. The one feature I would like to see improvement on is in the Watch App. Since Apple has moved away from Force Touch and 3D Touch in watchOS and iOS, it makes watch apps that have buttons that you must press and hold more awkward to use. When pressing and holding the buttons on the watch app, it now brings up the refresh button that used to be accessible through Force Touch. Other than this small issue, which can be worked around, I believe that both apps are more stable and well-made than they have ever been.

The best in customer service hands down.. For the past two went through it with just about every car dealer in my area. They were complete sharks trying to squeeze everything they could out of us. They would not give an inch. And when they did and you thought you were on top they came back with another way to say sorry but we have no choice but to charge you more. Sound familiar. I walked into Sawgrass Ford and I was expecting the same treatment. But WOW what a 180 degree Flip. No hassling and they gave us almost everything we asked for and did it with total respect. We are now a FORD family forever. No turning back only forward from now on. Thank you Sawgrass Ford. You gave me faith again.

Stop All of the Secure Alert “I Understand”. It’s frustrating not being able to fully customize what alerts you get with the new secure alert. Also, every time I open the app I have to double tap through “I understand” screen. It’s a nuisance and have Secure Alert on to simply know when my doors open. The schedule feature isn’t an appropriate remedy/fix, as my purpose for using it is to know whenever a door opens. Please make options to not be alerted when a door opens when the car is on, as obviously this would be me. Also, having tons of “unread” messages tied to Secure Alert in the message center is so annoying, as If it is me opening the door I already know the doors are open and shouldn’t have to go in to clean up the alerts. Please make it more user friendly and customizable/smart with how we get alerts for Secure Alert.

Great app. I love this app. Let’s me know everything that I need to know about what’s going on with my 2020 Ford Escape. From oil changes to tire pressure it lets me know if there is an issue or time for a oil change. I would love to give this 5 stars but I’m giving it 4 1/2. Only because when I get a message and read then delete the message , there is still a number on the Ford icon telling me there is a message to read. It drives me nuts to see this everytime I’m on my home screen. It’s had a 1 on it for 3 days now. Everything else is perfect though! Update: since the app was updated, I know longer have any issue! Thank you!! Changed from 4.5 stars to 5.

Mix of issues. I won’t probably write how great an app is, because that is the expectation, right? Well, the app communicates well with the car and you can do and see things, and it is ok. We all get excited with those little things. My case was mostly inconvenient. I was trying to do a quick service schedule without the hassle of listening to phone menus and options, etc. The app logs me in, but sends me to a website that doesn’t recognize my credentials. Well, tried using single a sign on with Google. Nah, that didn’t work. Oh yeah, a message pops that doesn’t let you see if it was actually successful or not. Anyway, I started a call, press 1 for this, etc. I was like, I don’t have time for this. I went to the website and everything worked. I was able to schedule the actual service I wanted without having to bother anyone. So, the app, I wouldn’t give 5 star. Just because it is sending you to systems that don’t use the same credentials or don’t work as supposed to. Perhaps it is the mobile website and not the app itself. Perhaps it is that dealers don’t work do the same way, or provide the same services. Now all that is flexible and can be loaded thru a catalog. The point is the app is offering options that can’t be completed or don’t work as expected.

Nice app to have but kills battery.. I really did like this app and it’s functions easily accessible on my phone. I loved showing off by started my Ford Edge from my watch! However, like many others have said recently, this app kills my battery and makes the phone run hot and occasionally overheats. And this happens WITHOUT running the FordPass app and “background app refresh” turned off. Since deleting the app I haven’t had these problems. I kept looking for updates to fix this but nothing. I hope Ford comes up with a fix for this because it is nice to have all this information easily accessible. It’s worth noting that I wasn’t having these problems until I updated my phone to iOS 14.0 (now 14.1); so I hope there will eventually be a fix and I will gladly re-install the app, until then it will stay off my phone so I can enjoy my battery lasting all day. Please Ford, fix this!!

False Hope. I have a Ford Focus 2012. It’s having transmission problems. The app said I had an extended warranty available to use. Took it in and it didn’t cover the issue of the clutch that is the problem. A couple of weeks later the app says that the warranty for the clutch is available! It wasn’t there before. Called customer service to verify that I am now covered. Customer service says if it’s on the app it’s because it covers part of not all of my problem. I call the dealership and they tell me that the warranty is only for 7 years or 100,000 miles. My car is 9 years. I call Ford Customer Relations. I’m rudely told that warranties can’t be changed. I ask why was I suddenly notified by the app that I could use the warranty and I was told again it can’t be changed. This app gave me false hope of getting my car fixed. I’m never buying a Ford again if this is how they treat their customers.

Disappointed. I traded in for a 2019 Ford Escape. To my already excited self for getting a newer vehicle I found out I could use this app, with my iPhone 11. I downloaded it, started going through the set up; and then I was instantly saddened. I got to the screen to add a 4 digit pin, and the screen was stuck on that page. I couldn’t make a pin, or go back, or skip it. I tried everything! I even upgraded my cell phone, I deleted the app, added it back, did a soft reset on my cell, and I undid the sync in my Ford Escape; but nothing has worked. I even called to get help from Apple where they say it isn’t in their end, so after hunting for a phone number I was disappointed again because no one has gotten back to me ever!! Very disappointed in this app and developer. It works sometimes and it won’t let me add any start times.

Overall ok but not perfect. Overall the app ins’t bad. One big issue I have has to do with controlling the charge on my car. I currently have it set to charge my car to 85% when plugged in at home. Despite having the location set, it does not recognize my home as my home so it charges to 100% if I am not watching it an stop it manually. Another issue is when I tell the app to stop the charge, it says it stopped but when I unplug after it stops, it sends me a notification that it was accidentally unplugged. Would also like to see features like being able to program the audio, see system diagnostics and OBDII codes, and the ability to report car issues like car play not working or the cruise control shutting off intermittently in the app.

Good, but.... It is a nice app to accompany your Ford if it is available, but since its last update, it is prompting for my password almost every time I use it. One of the features I use the most is the remote turn on to start the engine while I walk towards where I have parked it so the engine is temperature ready to go. If the password keeps prompting almost every time, I have to decide either to stop and enter the password or just keep walking and turn it on when I get into the car, making this application useless. Things that seems inexplicable to me is why the remote start is available trough the app, but not in the key fob. Second, the key fob can open/close all windows remotely but not the app. It might be safety concerns to close the windows remotely with the app, but at least it should indicate the status and be capable to roll them down. Opening the windows with the app should be feasible.

Pretty good so far. I really like how the app allows me to start my truck and lock and unlock the doors. However, I don’t see where it shows my fuel level. It would also be nice if the app showed me if the doors were currently locked or unlocked, and if the engine was currently running or not. After I remote start the truck, besides the message that says truck started, you can’t tell if it is running or not. It would also be nice if the truck logged its trips in my Ford pass without my phone needing to be in the truck. If my kid takes my truck, it would be nice to see where it went while he had it. The app also allows me to schedule remote starts, it would also be nice if I could schedule door locks just in case I forget to lock it one night. Other than these missing features, this app is pretty cool.

Love this app!. I use this app occasionally but it wasn’t until today that I realized how valuable this app really is. I got to work and was in a rush. I forgot to lock my car and I was already through security and headed to my office so there was no way I could go back to the parking lot. I don’t know how in the world I remembered, but I thought I’d check to see if I could lock my car through this app. Sure enough, I was able to lock my car and have peace of mind for the day. When I got to my car at the end of the day I checked and the doors were locked. I am so grateful for this app because I would have stressed all day over my car being unlocked or I would have had to waste my first break going to lock it. Thanks Ford!

Awesome. This app is amazing I absolutely love it. When I tell people that I can start my truck from my phone they don’t believe me lol. My only one complaint is that I hate is the fact that when u start your truck using the app it locks your doors and u only have very little time when u hit unlock from the app to get into the truck. This can be very difficult at times especially if you have a baby in your hands or your hands are full and you have to pull your phone out and the app back up to unlock. I wish there was a way to disable it from locking when you start your truck, or at least have a option to pick how long to it takes to lock back up after you hit the unlock option on the app. Like maybe 1 minute 5 minute 10 minutes. Other then that I love the app. Great job.

Battery drainage. Overall, this is a great app. Allows me to start/stop my truck remotely, locks/unlocks doors remotely. I can schedule start ups for the days that I work 15 minutes before I walk out the door. I don’t care much for the Journeys portion as I don’t use it much. My main issue is BATTERY DRAINAGE, on any given day it’s 90% battery usage due to background refresh. I tried turning it off on my IOS 10, but there isn’t an option to turn it off. I turned everything else off in the app and under Control on my phone. I ended up deleting the app from my phone. I walk out this morning to go to expecting to have a cold truck, and my truck is running even after I’ve deleted the app. So now I’ll either leave it as is or download the app to remove the scheduled start up times, I have a flexible schedule so I don’t have to go in every day.

Doesn’t reset. I didn’t like the fact that my F150 did not come with a key fob to remote start. I live in Arizona and starting your vehicle before you get in it to let the A/C run is really nice. But that’s ok, there is an app. A little more cumbersome to get into my phone to use it but ok I guess. That worked for a couple of years and I got used to it. The last 6 months or so the app doesn’t recognize that the vehicle started or that I stopped at a destination and turned it off. So, when I go to pull out my phone and get into the app, it won’t let me remote start the truck. I have to completely clear the app and re-open it to make the app work. I know this sounds petty and in reality it is but this is a review of an app that is not doing what it should. We all live in a busy world, me included and I just want remote starting my vehicle to be simple. Not frustrating every single time. Seems like an easy fix. Just do it.

Maintenance Scheduling is horrible. Why is this so difficult to have integrated within this APP? The lock, unlock and remote options works great. So why can’t you make scheduling service for my vehicle within this app work? It is setup like this functionality works in the UI but it does NOT. Something has changed in the last few updates but now I can’t even schedule anything where as before I could at least get in to the service calendar. Lastly, when I could, I still had to fill out all of my info and my vehicle info. WHY? I’m already logged in and all of that information is right there in my profile. I know you guys can do this....come on

tracking option has not worked since March 16, 2023. Update October 5,2023: This app now says unable to locate the vehicle after downloading it one more time on my iphone. All Apple updates are current as of this morning. What gives??? Update Aug 9,2023: I am still unable to use this app (ios - is current). I have deleted and re-installed several times and still stuck. Message shows the car is “updating…”. The app is still stuck in July. Is there a way to fix it on my end??? Aggravating!! I’ve never had problems with this app until now but…“Car is updating Will be unavailable for ten minutes”. The car updated awhile back. The app has not tracked the car since. I have deleted the app, shut my iPhone off, re-downloaded the app several times. It still says “car is updating”. It just isn’t working. When do you expect this to be working again?

Update: Still unreliable! App all of a sudden not working after update. Update: App worked for a few months after last review but all of a sudden acting super glitchy again!! First problem is that it now puts the remote features in deep sleep mode after only an overnight parking, I’m talking less than 12 hours parked! Had my battery checked and it’s perfectly fine! Super frustrating as we like to remotely start our vehicle and like the location feature to make sure it’s not stolen! Second glitch is the constant notification that there is a message in the app even though there are none. Overall still an unbelievably unreliable app! Disappointed!! Check periodically on our vehicle as we commute to and from states for work and park our vehicle in a city other than where we reside. Primarily used for checking location of vehicle to ensure it’s parked where we left it. Last update of vehicle location was on Saturday now it has an error message indicating Ford Pass is not responding and to try back later. I know for sure my vehicle is parked where we left it as I had a friend check..so it must be an app error! Haven’t had any issues with the app since purchasing our vehicle new in March. Please fix the glitch as it is a great tool for tracking my new car!

So they had to change it?!. I just installed the update and the first thing I tried was the map. The map to find your car will not resize in fact it keeps resetting. Now it is useless... I prefer they gives us back the old Map... Another issue is, It takes for ever for it to update the data (even with a good signal on the car and good internet on your iPhone)!! This app has been a big disappoint from the beginning. Miles to Empty is always wrong... It shows the mileage from the last time I started the car, NOT when I shut it off!!! That makes it useless. Talking to the Ford Dealership does nothing... They just give me excuses! We pay for this feature that doesn’t work properly! WHAT A DEAL! After the Last update... most of the time the app doesn’t work... The app was great until they did all their updates or so called improvements! Update!!! Aug. 25, 2023 The last update on the app will not unlock or start my vehicle! and the refresh just keeps spinning!

Sporadic Reliability. I suppose it is a Ford product after all, I’ve had the app for about 18 months and it fails at least once a month. I keep the app up to date and it’s not like I am even out of line of sight or far away (under 50 feet). The best part is it only seems to fail when it is colder than ——- outside, I live in MN, we get some cold weather. Then I walk out and the car starts just fine. Very inconvenient and pointless. I see why Ford couldn’t bring themselves to charge for this like they originally intended, it doesn’t have the reliability to charge for it. Update: just got a notification that all the remote features are being turned off because I don’t drive enough (17 miles each way) and that I need to take the car on a longer drive and kicker, turn off the hvac, how the f am I supposed to do that when it’s winter and 20 below zero. So if you live in cold climate and don’t drive 20 miles each way, this app is NOT for you!

UPDATE: App DOES Work!!!. UPDATE: After doing some extensive research online, I found that the cellular data was not turned on for this app in my iPhone settings. Once turned on, the app has been working great! I purchased the Mach E 5 days ago. The Ford Pass app has the phone as key feature, as well as the Ford charging network, all vehicle notifications, etc. I haven’t been able to use ANY of this because the app won’t open…it just freezes at the Ford logo with white background. I’ve tried uninstalling, resetting my phone, and reinstalling, but still having the same issue. I really hope Ford app developers get this figured out soon but I’m not holding my breath since it seems like this issue has been ongoing for quite a while.

Background Activity has run a muck.. Until iOS 14 this app was pretty solid. Ever since updating Ford Pass is running in the background to the point my phone is overheating. I’ve had to delete it just stop if from behaving this way. At the time of writing this it was at 2 minutes of screen time and 2 hours 37 minutes of background time. I’ll wait for the next update I guess and try again. *****. Updated to the latest Version 3.10***** I’ve had the latest version of this app installed on my phone for a couple days now. It seems between Apple’s updates and Fords updates this issue is resolved. I’m giving stars 5 as it’s a handy app for use with my car.

Very disappointed. Just picked up my new 2019 Fusion and was excited to have the FordPass app for starting my car. It took 30 minutes to just the app to recognize my car. Now it consistently says “FordPass App isn’t responding, please try again later.” And it will crash 50% if the time when I try to open it. I am using an iPhone X with the latest 12.1.4 iOS software. Please fix this app. The potential is amazing! UDATE: deleted and reinstalled the app. Then I removed the vehicle and traded it while at home where I was able to connect to WiFi. It connected the first time and now seems to work. I was able to start my car and lock/unlock. The Apple Watch app doesn’t connect though. 5 stars is the Watch app works. I will update this review again if something changes

DON’T schedule service thru app. App works great for remote starting, etc. DON’T SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT VIA THE APP. I made a service appt via the app and got multiple text confirmations of appointment. We dropped my vehicle off day of appt via key drop box, didn’t hear anything from the dealer for 2 days. I called the dealer for an update after I got another appt confirmation text message for the following week. She said I never had a service appt and that there’s a known disconnect with the app and dealers when making service appts. Called Ford customer service and they confirmed this known issue but continue to keep the feature active on the app. Service dept staff and customer service staff were wonderful as we got to the bottom of the issue. Unfortunately, this issue falls on Ford Pass.

Very irritating. For a whole year this application was working great, I enjoyed using it especially during the winter season where I could start my car and not worry about getting out in the cold. But here recently I was kicked out and can no longer log back in. I called multiple times to the customer service and was told it would be fix within days but it is still not fixed and it been a month.. I have tried to log in numerous time but it is still not working.. I am very irritated because I feel the customer service did not take my complaint seriously..I hate that it no longer works and that is who I gave it a two star. so if it could be fix then please fix it..

Mach-e Improvements. Overall, the app works great with the Mach-e. I’d really like to see some quality of life improvements that puts this app on par with Tesla. For instance, the Tesla app allows you to set temperatures, heated seats, lights on/off. We shouldn’t have to set a schedule to precondition the vehicle. I will probably never use that feature. I feel like the app is 90% there, but it’s just not quite as good. One huge feature is being able to access the cars cameras remotely. Mach-e owners don’t have a way to locally store any sort of data or even view the cameras when away from the vehicle. I’d really like to be able to access the cameras when away from the vehicle at the very least and perhaps be notified of any events that occur near the vehicle.

Left me stranded, not production ready. At the dealers insistence I installed this app and used it in place of a key fob... Seemed like pretty neat technology so I decided why not. For three days of driving the app was a fantastic experience.. day four was an absolute nightmare. I took my car to a friend’s house to show it off. We got in the car and toggled on the accessory power. After a moment the car sent an alert saying the fob wasn’t in the vehicle. Bluetooth showed the status of disconnected, yet upon hitting the information button all checks were green. Strange right? We go to get out of the car.. and it triggers the alarm! Worse yet, we’re locked in! The remote unlock got us out of the car while the alarm was blaring.. yikes. I walk away from the car and reset my phone… and we repeat the exact same sequence down to getting locked in while the alarm let’s the neighbors know how dumb I am. Again. Out of desperation I uninstalled the app and reinstalled… only to find that FordPass can no longer be used as a fob without setting it back up. Given that I don’t have the unlock password we setup at the dealer memorized, I sheepishly accepted a 20 min ride home from a friend which I spent stewing and writing this review. I will never trust this tool again, imagine if I’d been on a road trip?! Dangerous.

Could be better. Works and does what it’s supposed to, but there are some simple features that would make it better. For instance, setting a departure time takes too many clicks. A single button next to remote start to set up a departure in 60 minutes would be simple to add and very useful for preconditioning EV batteries/cabin before leaving. Another suggestion is to make charging sessions simpler. Right now, setting a max charge requires many clicks and boxes to check and it’s buried in the within the “preferred charge times” menu. There is also no way to see what the charge rate (kw/h) is while charging - if there is, it not anywhere easy to find. Perhaps the software engineers should should try to use their app on a regular basis with an EV and make the UI more intuitive and end user friendly.

Disappointing (Smartlink). The app is buggy and prone to crashing, and logs you out at random times. The reason I have the app is for smartlink, which is an afterthought with Ford. It takes entirely too long to get to the controls for the vehicle! It’s much quicker to just pull out your keys to remote start than it is to go through sub menu after sub menu, only to have a slow initiation. It also doesn’t support scheduled starts at this time, which was a big reason I purchased the smartlink. Everything I could find before hinted that it would be a feature, only to find out that doesn’t exist. If ford could integrate the smartlink features directly into the vehicle it’s installed in, rather than having to go into a separate menu, as well as add the scheduled start, that would go a long way in improvement. Other features such as HomeKit support would be great, too.

Keep it simple stupid!. For the love of Henry Ford stop changing this app! When I first downloaded this app last year in April, it was great. It was streamlined and it did exactly what you needed it to do: started your car, gave you a quick look at vehicle health like tire pressure and miles to empty. And it was nice to see vehicle system errors so that you would know when to take your car in for repair. But now it’s ridiculous! Now there’s a login ID and a pin number and fingerprint ID and every time you guys add some stupid new feature I have to log it all over again. What’s the point of offering to “remember my login” so I don’t have to, if I’m going to have to login myself every time you update the freaking app!? I don’t need 1001 ways to use this app. I don’t need the weather report on this freaking app. I just need to start my freaking car! Luckily I’m getting a good deal on a handheld remote starter so I don’t have to put up with this stupid app BS anymore.

“Just like the weather” …… 😕. Good for a week, then ‘no connection’ for a week. Remote Start is my lifeline with no garage and minus 10-degree mornings. Ughhhh! C’mon Ford aren’t ya a little better than this? This is my 9th Ford purchase going way back to my college days. I asked for a remote start added to my key-FOB when I purchased but the salesman re-assured me that the “Ford Pass was free and it would save me money by not adding a remote start to the key-FOB”. I’ve called customer service on Ford Pass, but both times the rep seemed to be aware of the issue but seemed to talk about the ongoing issue but really had NO SOLUTIONS. I’m certainly not the most “tech-savvy” 62 year old on the planet but wouldn’t you think someone at Ford could tap one of these lazy millennial tech nerds on the shoulder and demand some solutions to your Ford Pass dilemma? This whole process has been VERY AGGRAVATING!☹️HELP!!

Rendered useless. After the latest update the watch app is useless. You open the app it no longer shows the picture of the vehicle, just the Ford insignia. You try to remote start you get a pop up message “Something is not right. Please try again later or contact a Guide for help. “ So I’ve been trying ‘later’ for days - no go. I contacted a Guide and had to repeat myself over & over cause they couldn’t comprehend what watch app is. They kept asking me ‘Is it the car update?’. So you know how hopeful I am ‘a Guide’ contacting will do any good. They are, unfortunately, clueless. The one feature, being able to start tue car from my watch, I loved & it’s no longer. It was so convenient since tue watch is on my wrist. Now I have to chase my phone, unlock it, find the app, open it up & start the car up. At least the phone’s app works until they screw that with the next update. Who OKed the release of the update without testing it?

Good but could be better. I like the ability to remotely start the car, lock doors, and check air pressure and oil. I also like that you can find your car on a map, see your mileage and gas. I can imagine scheduled start would be nice if you’re away and want to start the car every couple days. I found it was glitchy trying to schedule service and twice it closed out, deleting my description of the problem, before I just called the dealer. Better to remove than to have it glitchy. The improvement I most desire however is for it to tell you the status of your door locks and perhaps keep keep a history. There is a “status” page but it doesn’t give anything like that there. Mine just says no active alerts.

Convenience. So, I just bought a new Ford Escape a week ago. I’ve definitely used the Ford Pass app and it’s been very convenient. One little problem I have is that every time I open the app after it being dormant for a while, it will crash and close. Upon opening it a second time, it says open. That’s a bug that needs to be addressed. Also, the interface is pretty good, but it’s not exactly intuitive to find certain things. Again, I’m new to this so I’m still getting used to it, but why would you have vehicle info like your license plate number under “glove box”? I will continue use to use this app because of the convenience factor but just a couple things that should be worked out or updated IMO.

Fix app running phone battery down and it would be great. Uninstalled app a month or so ago because it was draining my phones battery when I checked on my iPhone it was 70 percent of battery usage and it wasn’t even open I always closed it, was cold yesterday so decided to reinstall to use it at work before walking out and saw the developers saying they knew about the complaints that people were experiencing with draining there phones battery and said they were working on it, I installed the app again and used it leaving work and it’s been on my phone almost 24 hrs I just checked battery and now it’s only used 1 percent, 24 hrs later checked battery usage again and it’s 65 percent guess they haven’t fixed issue yet, uninstalling
