New App look, feedback. This latest app has one annoying feature. The grill page has the "Remove Grill" button at the bottom of the screen. This should be a rarely used item and be buried in settings! On an iPhone one often touches the bottom of the screen and the last thing needed is to accidentally delete the grill from the app! It already almost happened, please fix this! Edit, the app was updated to load faster, it does, however it still has the "Remove Grill" button at the bottom of the screen, this is Not Good! Edit, Apple Watch Support added, Great! But! Traeger needs to add complication support for the richer watch faces like Modular Infograph! This would be way better, allowing great grilling faces with timers, weather, and external thermometers like Fireboard, all on one face.

Calamitous WIFIRE setup process. I work in software for an IoT company. It’s immediately clear to me that this company, despite making an outstanding grill, made some poor engineering decisions with their WIFIRE module and system. Building firmware, mobile, and backend services is hard, so I feel for ‘em, but man, this was a frustrating user experience. It took at least fifteen tries to get the grill set up over Wi-Fi, the last attempt only successful using a different phone running a different OS... The app frequently claimed the grill could not be found, despite the grill initiating its configuration and setup process. Mind you, the grill and phone were on the same networks the whole time. The grill then repeatedly failed to complete the “Downloading Files” step and remained in what appeared to be a zombie state such that the app couldn’t find the grill. Fortunately, it got far enough in the last attempt to allow my other phone to complete the setup, at which point the grill appeared in this app. To the program manager, or beancounter that reads this... hire a software architect or a few more devs to build you more robust firmware, cloud services, and mobile apps. They aren’t cheap, but support incidents aren’t either!

Great grill bad Tech. So I bought the Ironwood 650 with the WiFire. Well since day one getting the grill to connect to the WiFi and app has been a pain. I’ve deleted and reinstalled over and over again. Once I finally do get everything linked up they do another update and then I have to delete and redo all over again to get my grill to link to my WiFi and App. This newest update takes the cake as i cannot get my app to read my grill. App says grills is offline. Grill says it’s connected to WiFi, WiFi sees grill only the app doesn’t. I Deleted everything and started at square one again. 5th time and it still says my grill is offline. I bought this grill so could bbq quicker and better preheat from work and cook when I get home. Yet the tech doesn’t work like it should. Love the flavor, love the convenience of not standing over the grill, but over paid because of the tech and I’m super disappointed in what I got. This time I did not get what I paid for.

Updated app won’t launch. Updated: The app works again without another update; after some random amount of time, the app finally launches and the grill is up to date. This is a five star app, but marking it 4 star for an upgrade process which shows no user feedback or info. The pre-release email said that it would update.. it didn’t say “you’ll lose the ability to control your grill for some seemingly random amount of time.” Previously: The last Traeger update, on iPhone 11 Pro, running latest iOS fails to launch. It gets to the Traeger splash screen and freezes. I’ve tried being on WiFi, and not, to see if it mattered if the grill was in range. No difference either way.

Good Grill - Totally Worthless App. The app does not even come close to what they are hyping it to be. Do not expect it to alert you to anything. It sure does not give you “ultimate control” like it claims, you have less control with your phone than if you was standing in front of your grill, you can’t even fire the grill up to preheat it from the app. All you can do is pretty much is look at and change the temperature of the grill and set alerts that you don’t get alerted about? *******UPDATE******** With the 2.0.1 Update they seemed to have fixed the receiving notifications!! Now you get the notification lost connection to grill every few minuets! And now you have even less control of your grill then you did before!! When the WiFire does stay connected and you try and change any setting on the grill it disconnects you. The app is now at version 2.0.10 and still the most useless app on my phone!

Unfortunately, you’re losing my support. My Traeger with wifire worked flawlessly for months. Suddenly in February, the wifire can’t pick up WiFi signal. Every phone, computer, iPad, and smart tv in this house has no issues. Neither does my Ring alarm, cameras and door bells. But suddenly wi fire went to hell. The app locks up and I’m sick and tired of retrying over and over again to connect. Especially when it was so easy and flawless for months. Your reviews are building about this problem and you even call out “having provisioning problems” on your website...so it must be a serious problem. The solutions, unfortunately, go toward telling your customers to fix their WiFi. Well, I set my router ON my grill. Can’t get any closer than that! Still no luck. I bought this model BECAUSE OF Wi Fire. I want it fixed and tell whatever engineer messed this up to be exited quickly.

WiFire Does Not Work Any More. I reside in Louisiana. I have had my Traeger WiFire grill for two years. It WAS, during all that time, working wonderfully. BUT, back in May, 2020 the WiFire no longer worked. We have tried MULTIPLE times to connect to it all with NO success. We bought our Traeger because of the convenience of its WiFire capability but now we just have an electric grill that we have to use a stop watch in order to time the cooking. The WiFire option has been out of commission for months now. Why haven’t you been able to correct the problem? Why did you have to try to improve something that was working flawlessly? Sometimes it’s best to leave things alone when they are functioning extremely well. I won’t recommend this product to anyone until the WiFire gets working properly again - if the company can ever correct the problem. I’m so very disappointed in this company. Hire a qualified computer tech company that can handle this type of situation.

I love my Traeger, but the wife hates it. *STORY TIME* Let me tell you something, I’m no pro at grilling whatsoever. I just moved into a new neighborhood with my wife and 3 kids. Local hardware store happens to be a Traeger dealer, so I said to myself “you know what? Why not?”, so I grabbed this pro series 780. Now, I grew up on nothing but charcoal, and for special occasions the propane grill got busted out. This smoker absolutely blows any other grill I’ve personally owned out of the water. My wife hates this thing because I’m finding things that she makes,(which is phenomenal, for anyone who’s curious), and trying a shot with the Traeger. And somehow, someway, it makes it better. I’ve even had the neighbor ask me what I’m making because the aroma this unit puts out Is mesmerizing. If you want to amp up what you’re already good at, or what your significant other is good at making, do yourself a favor and buy yourself one of these grills, you won’t regret it 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Terrible wifire performance, worthless tech support, horrible customer service. The short version is this: this has truly been one of the worst customer experiences of my life. I was very excited to get my new Traeger 575. I specifically chose this model because of the wifire functionality. Unfortunately it has been INCREDIBLY disappointing. I been working for WEEKS to get it to connect to the app. I went through all of their online troubleshooting guides, factory resets, etc. Nothing. I called customer service only to wait on hold for over 2 hrs. The rep was very friendly and walked me through his troubleshooting process. Nothing. He told me he was going to escalate this to their IT team and I should expect a call in 3-5 business days. It’s been over 2 weeks. Nothing. I called back in and waited another 2 hrs, spoke to another friendly rep, repeated the same steps. Nothing. I called Ace hardware to initiate a return. Because I ordered it online from Ace it actually drop ships from Traeger. The Ace guy called the regional manager for Traeger and explained my situation. The Traeger guy told me that I can’t return it just because I don’t like it, and suggested I call tech support again. Don’t like it?! It doesn’t work!! This has truly been one of the most disappointing customer service experiences of my life. I’ve listed it for sale on Craigslist and will replace it with a Rec Tec.

New user remarks. I’ve been using this app for 3 weeks including 2 cooks. I like the remote capability. The fact that I can work (virtually due to covid) and have some amazing food cooking at the same time is pretty awesome. That said, I think the app has a ton of room for improvement. The biggest in my opinion is that it has no memory, I can’t graph my cooks to see how quickly things are cooking and how steady the inside temp is. A close second is that I can’t have more than one food probe so I can’t really monitor more than one rack of ribs or whatever. This is a pretty big miss in my opinion. I realize that this would be a hardware enhancement but I honestly think traeger could release a WiFi capable probe system that could be paired with the app as well.

Love the Smoker not the App. The smoker is amazing and everything I’ve cooked has been awesome. The App though, ugh. The amount of complex recipes are insane. I like to try everything. I’ll cook the complex but when I’m trying something for the first time, I want it simple. When I first bought my smoker, I had a 10lb pork shoulder and I just wanted simple directions of temperature and time. Nope. Had to chose rubs and flavors and number of people to feed. It be much better if I could just say I have this big a piece of meat, offer me directions. Maybe even saying simple to the complex. Also, when you do follow their recipes, build in more cook time. I had a recipe that called for 12 hours. I had to cook for 20. I learned that isn’t surprising but all of their recipes seem to be on the low end of the spectrum.

Complete and Total Waste. The smoker works great but keep an eye on it like you would an offset. Twice I have had it run out of pellets 2 hours before a cook ends because the app just stops alerting you. You can control the temp and settings but it stops sending notifications altogether. Traeger has also deemed it unnecessary to allow us to see our past cook data to compare to others so plan on again keeping it old school with written notes. They used to kindly send you “convenient” monthly review that included you data but as per my last conversation with their customer service, they no longer even do that. It’s no loss because to get the review as well as any emails for customer service/account issues (which there are a LOT on my end), you have to give them the okay to send marketing emails. I was receiving two a day before opting out which messed my entire account up. Over all, worst $1800 I’ve ever spent, garbage app, and even worse Customer Service. Even though the grills work as far as maintaining temp and getting good smoke, everything else being as unreliable as it is make me regret giving them money. Best advice, sell this crap and get a Yoder. Slightly more but WAY more reliable. If the market was flooded with used Traegers and they started losing money on new purchases, they would be forced to listen to customers and make changes. Not something they like doing.

Won’t connect to WI-FI on grill after all update. There was a update for the app and ever since then no matter what I do it won’t connect the grill in the app no more. I have spent hours and hours troubleshooting the issue and, even went out and purchased a nicer Wi-Fi router and still the grill refuses to connect and it happens immediately ever time I try. It is beyond frustrating and, I google my issues and it is a supper common issue after you update the app. I have auto-update apps on my phone which in this case was a mistake. I really like being able to keep a eye on the grill from my phone, but these updates are not tested or verified before they are pushed out in the app. There is always a need to download a update to the grill ever time, why? If I could give this lower then a one star review for the app I would it is that bad.

Problem Solved!!!!. ***Revised*** Finally, it was determined that my control board had failed and they sent me a new one. Once hooked up, it worked perfect. I’m back in love with my Traeger!!!! I have not been able to connect my grill to wifi for weeks and cannot get Traeger to call me back. I have done everything from resetting my router, separating my router extender to display 2.4 and 5.0ghz, unplugging the grill, resetting my phone and deleting and reinstalling the app. One of the reasons I bought the grill was for the wifi option and now it doesn’t work. I have been hearing the same situation from several of my friends as well. It might be time to ditch Traeger and move on to a more reliable brand.

Do not buy into the hype.. I do not get the hype about Traeger. I bought the Silverton 620 and the food does taste good, but the Traeger experience is waaaay overrated. (1) My thermometer is about 20 degrees high, even after calibrating the probe. I almost killed my family during Thanksgiving by seriously undercooking my turkey. (2) My grill is not dependable. My grill misfired on my third time using it. I had to tear it apart, vacuum everything out, and try again. Even now it feels temperamental and I wonder if the grill will work for me or not. (3). Finally, the app is pretty basic and has very limited functionality. I just needed to update my Wi-Fi network, and I could not do it through the app. I needed to reset the grill (hold in button for 10 seconds on Wi-Fi screen, power down, reset, etc) and start over as though I was starting a brand new setup. This process should have been much easier through the app. I do like that I can set the grill temperature and monitor the probe temperature from the Traeger app on my phone. It would be even better if I could trust the probe temperature. At the end of the day, you have to hand it to Traeger. They have marketed their product well and convinced me and many other people to “drink the Kool-Aid” (I.e. buy their extremely expensive grills that have many functional issues). If I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t have made this Traeger purchase, and would have spent my hard-earned money elsewhere.

App gets worse each release. Note app it compatible with this ipad. When i got the grill 3 years ago the app was decent.. I think just the timer was broke so no biggie. Few months later they forced an upgrade when i had guests and everyone was hungry.. the upgrade ruined the timing of the meal. And that one looked worse. I then started noticing the probe temp was 10-15 degrees off..undercooked food. Get used to that drama and then the latest REQUIRED (why?) upgrade wouldn’t work on my ipad’s OS.. for eff sakes, that is just lazy on Traeger’s part. So I go through upgrading my ipad, and then the traeger app.. and the app comes up with a tiny screen.. like phone sized on a big tablet. Junk. And to top it off, none of the alerts work.. timer.. probe temp target, or preheat target. The probe temp just flashes a message on screen for a second.. no sound no visual.. if you are not watching at that exact second food ruined. At this point the app is useless. The recipe and social crap they are doing is a joke.. I already have resources.. there are so many great cooking/grilling/smoking sites on the internet… why traeger, why? I won’t recommend you or buy another.

Updates for App Ideas. I’m new to Traeger in the past few months and have been loving trying the recipes on this app. I do have an idea or two for an update though. Can you make it possible so we can arrange our saved recipes by either food types or ingredients, I forget that I have some great recipes saved because I can’t find them. Another idea is to be able to combine recipes to make our own custom meal plan ideas. Make so we can grab 3 or 4 different recipes and group them together so it will show all the ingredients and steps together. ( May just be me but find it hard backing in and out of different recipes while cooking). Just some ideas. Otherwise no problems from me with the app

App is great, but.... The updated app is great. You can monitor your grill, view and save recipes, and even watch videos on how to cook something now! However, these features are only accessible when you have either strong WiFi or cellular signal. With the new update, I am sometimes stuck on the loading screen which says nothing more than “heating up your account.” On the old version, I simply launched the app and everything loaded up (obviously slow connections meant I couldn’t monitor my grill properly, but I could at least launch the app). This reliance on connection strength to simply launch the app, not even monitor your grill, is the only issue I’ve really encountered.

Useful for controlling my Traeger but could be improved. During my first overnight cook I somehow managed to hit the “keep warm” setting while keeping an eye on temps and never noticed it, this almost cost me my game day meal for the family. I thought the smoker was smoking but for at least 5 hours the grill was just keeping the meat warm. I think the keep it warm setting should be moved to the temperature scroll or at the very least require confirmation before setting the grill to warm. One other thing that I find disappointing is not having the ability to track the temperature through the cook. I use a cheap Bluetooth monitor and the app allows me to see the temperature and gives me a graph for the past several hours allowing me to know what the temps have been using a simple line graph. I thought for sure this app would do that, but unfortunately I will need to use another app + thermometer to track temps throughout the cook. So far these are the two features I feel that the app is missing.

Traeger listens to their customers and reviews. This sounds like it’s paid for, but I feel the need to write something nice after the number of times I’ve chewed out their support team or Instagram account manager. They’ve made some serious mistakes with their app in the past year or two, but after one of the mistakes I noticed they had job postings for senior app developers and I think they hired the right people to get the job done. My most recent issue was a feature request that I put in about a month ago and it’s already implemented, adding spaces to the list of special characters, which is kind of an easy request but the fact that they listened to me is what I search for with every company I do business with.

What the heck did you do to the app??. You guys took a perfectly well running and full featured application and turned it into nothing more than a collection of how to videos. You’ve taken away the ability to customize your own specialty cooks from within the app. What’s more disturbing is that when I called Traeger customer service today, the girl I spoke with hadn’t a clue. She said she searched high and low for this same complaint for another customer to learn that feature had been removed. She also mentioned that she wasn’t aware that the old app gave you the ability to customize your cook settings. WOW! Talk about not knowing your products. You also jacked up the current recipes. It gives you a total prep time using the cook cycle to combine those two times and gives you nothing more than a time frame. It doesn’t specify how long at what temp. And if you have a cook where you want to smoke for two hours, then bump up the temp to finish it off, you have no way of knowing the duration of the smoke time vs the total time. I mean what a joke! And don’t get me started on the recipe changes. Ingredients for common recipes are gone. I’m perplexed to say the least. I have an 1850 dollar Timberline that I loved to use and now I’m wishing I’d kept my Big Green Egg. I was considering buying the new Timberline with the D2 and pellet sensor, but there’s no way. Your staff is clueless and you put zero thought into this garbage app.

WiFi frustration. I’ve had my grill since Father’s Day and have not been able to connect to WiFi until today. I called customer service and they said that it was my internet and that it must have been sending out a signal other than 2.4ghz. I bought an extender thinking that would help and it did not. I even connected my laptop to the router to see that I was indeed using 2.4ghz. Today I finally tried to use an old iPhone6 that my son currently uses to play games. It is linked to my new phone(iPhone 11) through the cloud. Using my iPhone 6 I was finally able to connect the grill to my WiFi. I’m not sure why it works with 6 and not the 11. The app itself is great for recipes and other ideas. Just need to work on the WiFi issues. Thanks.

Fifty first dates with my Traeger. For the love! WHAT did you do? 1. The app doesn’t remember my grill no matter how many times I pair it. 2. No matter what we do it cannot find our wifi even though it is sitting right next to the modem with 225 mbps service. I can stream from my exercise equipment and TV that are actually father away from the modem with no problem. 3. I can NO longer run the shut down mode at the end of our use. The app says it is shutting down the grill - the grill never receives the command. There is no way to enter shutdown mode on the control panel on on our 780 - have to unplug it. 4. It doesn’t send ANY notifications to the app from the grill. Examples: timer, pellet sensor, temperature, done preheating etc. 5. Recipes are a HOT freaking mess. Did ANYONE there have the knowledge of basic cooking for the updates to the recipes? How the heck are you expecting anyone to find anything? 6. I’m so disgusted with this app I wish I could give it negative ratings. And thanks for taking away the community notes - it is nice to know how other people are tweaking things - like a community learning from on other - I thought Traeger would want a ‘Traeger community’? Maybe not. Fix the app!! If the app is too difficult to use, people will stop using your products. And we will use our Great Green Egg instead for things we would have normally used our Traeger for.

Not totally happy. I got my Traeger around October of last year... I have used it so far just 5 times. The problems started the second time I used it...in the middle of the cooking session the unit “turned off” and I had to pull everything out start all over after vacuuming the fire box and calling your service department for instructions..I cleaned the thermostat with vinegar as instructed and managed to re-start it again and finished my meal.. they sent me a new fan motor and I replaced it. Yesterday (the fifth time I use it) it did the same thing...it set my cooking back 1 1/2 hours because that’s what it took for me to realize it had turned off...although the blower was working and the wood-chip hopper was full and so was the gure box with unburnt chips...called customer service again and could hardly understand the rep because of his heavy accent...after trying to talk with him for about 20 minutes we finally gave up....I proceeded to clean everything up and was able to restart the unit and finished cooking my pork butt...it has been very annoying to have to ho thru these restarts ...on a fairly new (only used five times) unit...

Assemble, cure and cook. This unit was amazingly easy to assemble. All parts fit perfectly and was ready to cook in about 35 minutes. The cure time took longer than assembly. We cook a roasted chicken with mushrooms and potatoes. The grill probe was essential for timing and everything came out very moist and tender. The grill cooked about five degrees hotter than programmed. Great smell from the wood burning pellets with minimal smoke. We had more smoke from curing the grill first time than actual cooking. We previously grilled on a Holland grill that was twice as expensive and never got the results from our first time with the Traeger. I would highly recommend you buy this grill if it’s not currently in your backyard.

Seriously? You took away the list of ingredients?. I loved (past tense) this app. When I first got my Traeger - which I love - I spent the bulk of my first Saturday just scanning and saving recipes. Then it all changed a couple days ago when I thought the app had just simply lost all those I had saved. I went back through for about an hour and found some of my favorites again. Then I got on tonight to find them all back again but with one MASSIVE change: the recipe list is gone. You now apparently now have to click into each step to get the ingredients listed for that step. Why was this taken away!? Who does this help? Who prefers this method? Also, it used to base the ingredients list on how many you’re serving and adjust it on a sliding scale. This was THE best feature! Now, there is NO yield whatsoever. Hoping to cook for 4 or 12? Good luck! 1 star. Please tell me I’m wrong and my app hasn’t finished updating fully. Naively holding onto hope and keeping my fingers crossed...

Does not work as advertised. Terrible product and support. They don’t stand behind the product. I bought the grill specifically for the WiFi feature and the grill does not work as advertised. The WiFi does not work. They treat me as though I am the problem and they don’t seem to stand behind the product or warranty. I called tech support several times. I was cut off several times. They had me do the same trouble shooting steps over and over and over with the same results of the WiFi not working. I can delete the app and reload it just so many times before it becomes a statement of insanity. I did everything they told me yet it won’t work and they refuse to replace the interface. Then I was told that it will be an undefined period of time before any updates are available since the software version I have is old. This tells me that the WiFi never worked since the old software is the problem??? I could have saved the extra money I spent with a smoker that’s manual since that’s how I’m having to use this smoker. I’m fact I was told to just use it manually by tech support. It was a constant effort of deflection by tech support as though it wasn’t the grills failure. I hope I can get my money back from the store.

Good performance, poor security and privacy. Let the buyer beware that you will have to set up a very simple six character password for your grill which exposes your network to every Tom, Dick, and Harry that wants to hack you. My advice would be to set up a separate network on your router exclusive to the grill. The app works very well with the grill and it’s temperatures and the temperature probe. One of the worst things about this app is that it demands you to acknowledge whether you want alerts and notifications every time you use the freaking app, when I say no I mean no and if I want to reconsider it I will do it on my own. This feature alone drives me insane. The terms and conditions for this app or like many other apps and that they collect so much data about you that you know they’re selling it. I don’t understand why I need a login to use my grill. Yeah, yeah, security etc. whatever, let me hook up to my grill the way I want to instead of trying to shove worthless recipes and marketing down my throat every time I use the app.

Do not buy a Traeger!. I hope this review saves someone time and money. Buy a Green Mountain Grill, you get more for your money and the WiFi actually works! I have a Pro 575 with “WiFire”. The grill by itself work fine, but the additional $$$ for the WiFire (which never works) is a complete waste. I believed Traeger’s advertising about the WiFire capabilities and was I miss led. The WiFire has been nothing but disappointments since the day I assembled the grill. Traeger customer care has not been helpful. I have over 30 emails back and forth trying to figure out the issues, they say “oh, you just need to update your app/grill”, “your signal strength is to low”, or “can you move the grill closer to your router?” The app/grill is up to date and the grill is less that 10’ from my router and is separated by a window! The customer care rep that I last spoke to on the phone didn’t even know what their app or grill menu looked like or the options for either of them!! How can you help someone with a product you don’t know anything about? If you want to pay to much for a pellet grill buy a Traeger, if you want to pay even more for a WiFi pellet grill (that doesn’t work) buy a Traeger. But if you want to save money, get more, and have a WiFi grill that works, don’t buy a Traeger.

Garbage!! Complete and utter garbage.. The grill is ok. Like many other reviews here the app stinks. It barely gets hot enough to Caramelize the steaks, set at 500° you must press the meat on the grill to get grill marks. All my wonderful juices just spilled onto the drip tray, yeah!!! You can’t shut it down without the app as there isn’t a shutdown sequence listed in the menu. My oil drum and soaked hickory chips works waaaay better as a smoker. I have the Costco ironwood model and the guy told me there was a “super smoke” setting… well there isn’t. This think barely smokes. So I have a wood pellet grill that doesn’t even smoke, I had to buy a smoke can and have to relight it several times because the venting on this hunk of junk is terrible!! Why spend $1000s on a smoker that doesn’t smoke?? Now let’s get to the app. It worked for a min, then it decided to lose my grill. Oh if you update the wifi password on your network you will have to go through the entire grill set up again, you can’t just update the password or network name. Anyone want to buy this headache off of me? I am taking it to the dump next week.

If you can’t connect to the Wi-Fi read this. I was totally frustrated trying to connect my Wi-Fi to my grill nothing seem to work and it was like all the other reviews saying that it doesn’t work... my local grill shop walked me through it and I hooked it up on the very first try after starting over and it works perfect!! The biggest thing you need to remember is that your grill only works on the 2.4 ghz!!! If you have the 5.0 as your Wi-Fi network it will not work. Remove the grill from the Wi-Fi and start over if it is not working. Make sure your network is 2.4 and follow the directions. After hours of frustration thinking that it isn’t gonna work, it connected on the first attempt once I was on the 2.4 and not the 5.0. Hope this helps!!

Really nice.. I have just received and assembled the smoker. There are some things I would have wanted better upon opening. The box was a little worn for wear but my kids very much enjoy the box cabin! I think there should have been nylon tape to hold the lid closed. Wife tipped to far and dinged the hood from falling open. Somethin not favorable. Also underneath the front shelf the stainless discoloration from the weld could have been touched up with some scotch bright. Also the ground edges around the front of that shelf could be a bit smoother. Just a very small detail that I think would take this smoker to the next level of luxury. The good about this smoker is the easy setup. The WiFi signal was easy to configure. A feature I’m looking forward to use. I will update this review after some time to give a full detail of my opinion. It is a very nice smoker and I look forward to many cooks for friends, family, co-workers, and hopefully do some charity work for hungry people.

New update is terrible. I used to love using the Traeger app for finding great recipes, but the new version is unbearable. You can no longer filter by the cut of meat once you choose the type of meat. For example: the older versions would allow to choose “Poultry”, then you could filter further by choosing legs, wings, whole chicken, etc...that is no longer an option. Additionally, you can no longer add a recipe to your Favorites without creating some sort of account. I haven’t created an account because the last thing I need to keep track of is another login...for a grill! A lot of the recipes are also pretty jumbled up as well. The older versions of the app typically split the ingredient list between brine, dry rub, sauce, etc...now they’re all jumbled together in one large list and it requires to read the instructions and constantly scroll back up to find the ingredients required for the step.

Support review by dee. Hey Traeger! First, I love my pro780! So nice to have a smoker/grill that is easy to use easy to clean and most importantly makes my suppers delish!! However, my controller display went out and I had to contact support. The experience was horrible because the person wanted to troubleshoot the power even when I told him the power is working it’s just the digital display on the controller board is not showing digits. The person wanted to run thru troubleshooting steps as if following a script. Just didn’t understand what I was saying. So I wrote Traeger and got another support person. I told them my issue, they shipped me a new controller board and now I can see digits on the display again!! Good as new!! Keep on Smokin!!

Great app. Traeger app connects and walks you through your setup really easily. The interface is very clean, and aside from offering easy controls to your grill, offers awesome recipes right in the app. Very simple to set up timers, super smoke option, and probe temp settings. It’s literary a perfect app. The only one flaw that it has, which is SUPER minor, is the remove grill button is too accessible. Every now and then I accidentally bump it and it opens a dialog to confirm I want to remove the grill from being connected. Wish this button was more like 2 clicks deep so it’s not so easy to accidentally push. Other than that. Great job devs from a fellow developer!

Life Changing!. I have owned a basic Traeger grill purchased impulsively on HSN for over a year ago with surprisingly amazing results time after time. This includes an unprecedented confidence developed after consistently spot-on results from routine family meals to high pressure holiday and party events. This includes Traeger 3-2-1 ribs, seafood, and numerous summer veggies that might be the most incredible foods I’ve ever cooked. I have also used this simple grill as a supplemental oven for every holiday due to its amazing consistency and results; We depend on it unconditionally. Today I received my new Ironwood 650, purchased for me by my wife for my birthday, that raises the bar even higher. After I synced the grill with my Traeger app and used the probe to cook filet mignon to wood-fired perfection, I now understand the potential that lies ahead for me and my family. Bottom line: Thank you Traeger for helping me become an unbridled, confident griller with noboundaries to what I’m able to cook to perfection. Sign me up to be a Traeger evangelist. Boom!

Thus app is absolutely TERRIBLE‼️. Use to work perfectly until it totally stopped working. I called them last week & we ran through every thing to try to get it working, but failed miserably. Then they told me they will be updating the app with a fix & that is today, & the new update is just as bad & still won’t connect to m new grill. & then when you cancel/close out the app & try to open it back up it never even allows you to get back into the app. They basically eff’t up my whole grilling experience as a father of 2 babies, the WiFirw was the only thing that drove me to spend over a $1,300 bux, & now rendered my purchase useless. I’m with my babies & need the app to keep an eye on things, but Trager totallyEff’t it up for all iOS users👎 Fix it NOW by rolling back all firmware & software updates back to when everything was working. & don’t ever update until its been tested in-house for a minimum of 6months. So irritated with this whole fiasco. Guess I gotta call them again👎🥵

Recipes are amazing accessibility for blind users, not so much.. I am a blind iPhone user using voiceover. The app does not work well with this feature of iOS. As a blind user, many parts of this app or just not intuitive or don’t work at all. One of the big ones is that the buttons are not labeled. What I see in the voiceover rendition is three buttons that have no labels and then three labels under the buttons that I believe respond to those buttons. The biggest concern though is that when trying to turn off the grill from the app, the button that says to “put out the fire“ is not visible to voiceover. In other words, I cannot turn off the grill independently. Please provide me a way to communicate with the developer directly, with respect to accessibility challenges. I would be happy to provide not only my own feedback, but to also point them at other users of grills that are blind, that might be willing to change if this product were a bit more accessible. Lots of money for a great product, I’m hoping that the application gets more accessible.

Horrible Design. Only thing good I can say about this app is the recipe resources. But the number one thing this app was made for, the ability to remotely control the grill over WiFi, they have designed it to not work unless you allow access to your location and your entire network. Both things of which are entirely unnecessary to the functioning of WiFire. I have a dog feeder that works over WiFi just the same and it doesn’t as for that information and works just fine. Customer support claims it’s so they can tell you where all the places are to buy Traeger products. Which if you bought one of their grills pretty sure you know where they are so to use that as an excuse to deny access to the ability to use WiFire is a poor company decision. And being that they also made a poor choice to manufacture their products in communist China, that decision to tie features to whither you toggle location services or network access on/off is very sketchy. If they make a better choice for the customers and change this requirement I will give a better rating and change my opinion of the grill when I talk with people about it. But until then if you deny people the main thing this app is for and one of the bigger selling points of the grill, this app is worthless and doesn’t even deserve 1⭐️.

Works like a champ!. After a lot of research , I purchased the pro-780 this week. There were other grills that had same or better build quality at a lower price, but what won me over was the reputation and devout following that Treager has. The reviews speak for themselves. I am blown away by how great this grill works, “ set it and forget it” is legit! I had some minor hiccups with the WiFiire app initially, and had to remove & reinstall the app because it wasn’t connecting to my WiFi, but after I reinstalled the app it has been working perfectly, no issues at all. I am able to dial up my grill settings when I’m out and about. I can make adjustments on the fly, and I get notifications when my grill hits its desired temps. This is a total game changer coming from a Big Green Egg. I am so happy with my purchase. Thanks for putting out a good product Traeger.

The app belongs to 2007. I'm a long time Timberline owner and last year upgraded to the Timberline XL. I was excited about the inclusion of the Meater probes as I've been a long time user of a stand-alone Meater probe and looking forward to having one app to control the grill and monitor my cook. Alas, that was not to be. Traeger shoehorned the Meater probes into the app to provide temperature and NONE of the other functionality. No cook history. No graph of the temperature during the cook. No estimate of cook time remaining. The left behind all of the things that make Meater great and made it as rudimentary as the old wired probes. Even those on a Traeger are awful -- take a look at Fireboard. I held out hope that Traeger just hadn't had ownership of Meater long enough before the new Timberline was released to do all the work... but it's been a year since then and the only thing we have seen is minor bug fixes. I've even reached out to support to see if they have any awareness of better integrating the Meater functionality and they are oblivious. At this price point, it's TERRIBLY disappointing.

Very helpful, easy, and vast with recipes.. I downloaded the Traeger app at first just to see what they have on there, not necessarily for their recipes, and now after using it for a while I love it. The simplicity and ease to find a delicious recipe is one tap away which is so helpful when throwing a party and you want to impress your guests. You can’t open this app and not find what you’re looking for. They exceed all expectations for a bbq app. I’ve used this app for so many recipes now for when I have parties and I just want to try something new and may I say Traeger does not disappoint, along with their smoker. You gotta be a super picky eater if you have trouble looking the perfect recipe cause every recipe I’ve used has been finger lickin’ good. The videos they have are very helpful as well to learn or see other methods on how other people cook. Traeger has done an amazing job with the app.

Feedback. Didn’t think I’d hear from Traeger about an app update on here, but I did. And they let me know they take our comments, if you can be specific, and try to improve. That not always easy with a company their size. Is there an email we can contact you at Traeger directly besides using the App Store? I love mine and would rather email directly rather than through here. I didn’t see one on the website, only a phone number. And thank you for your reply. Glad to hear you are already working on an update to the updated app with respect to the recipes. Keep Traeg’n, indeed!!!

New app less reliable. I love my Traeger grill and am on my second grill. I brought my first, smaller, to my in-laws (yes, I love them). Recently, I’ve used the new version of the app to monitor the grill. It “sticks” with old information in terms of the probe temp and the grill temp. This is bad. I have to go out to check the actual information. Restarting the app reconnects and gets you the current temp, but for long smokes I don’t want to have to restart the app. I use a separate blue tooth monitor as well but I like the WiFi access to get better distance support. Also, while I love the recipes and videos, they get in the way of grilling. Get me back to the simpler, quick way to access and control my grill. I find this version more in the way than the older version. Keep it simple please.

Skip the essays. You ever try and google a recipe and have to sit there and scroll through a 10 page essay on the history of the authors grandma and the passage of her secret baked ziti recipe just to find out you don’t have an emulsifier (what even is that) and you can’t do it. So it’s on to the next essay just to try and find an ingredients list. Well those days are behind you now. Just a picture of the food and a name saying “hey, does this look bomb to you? Here’s how you make it.” The app is extremely intuitive and user friendly. Hide what you don’t want to see, open what you do. Save recipes that you want to come back to later. I save my recipes and go to the store with nothing but the Traeger app. Just open up the recipes I want to make as I shop and look at the ingredients. Easy. I went from cooking almost nothing to doing ALL the cooking in my household. Every night before bed my wife prays and thanks Jesus for inventing the Traeger because now she doesn’t have to cook anymore. 10/10 would recommend.

Great grill...terrible app...still!!. We had a difficult time getting the grill to connect, but once it did, it worked fine. For four grilling sessions. Back to being unavailable...disappointed one of the grill’s selling points is the wifire system. Then the update took away the grill connection altogether! We have been trying to reconnect using an iPhone and Android...neither will finish the connection process. Very disappointing to waste hours trying everything to get it to connect. Even put the grill within 10 feet of the WiFi extender. This is just sad!!! Please spend some of my purchase price to hire some who knows something about app development!

Needs Work. I have two Traeger machines and enjoy them very much, aside from some recurring frustrations with how they perform. ! I’m a creative back yard cook and like to draw inspiration from the recipes on Traeger’s App but it is definitely frustrating to do a search. If the search criteria I input isn’t very specific, I get anything but what I’m looking for. I also don’t like how you can’t go back to the exact spot you came from when using the App for my iMac, I get stuck having to scroll from the beginning and just don’t understand why the developers would set it up this way. This is not a new problem, so I really wonder if anyone at Traeger is really paying attention?! Despite my frustrations, I do continue to use the app and my machines. I guess I’ve come to understand the limitations of the Apps and go in knowing I may not always find what I’m looking for. I’m currently looking at a different version of these machines but I’d probably still always refer back to Traeger because most all of the recipes they offer us users are pretty darn awesome!

Worth the purchase. I had a green egg and then after 2 years, my wife convinced me to buy a Traeger. Initially, I thought “pellet” grilling was for sissies and the taste of the smoke would be of lower quality. BUT I WAS WRONG! The only thing that I do not like about my Traeger is the hinge on the door. I purchased a thermal covering for the winter so I can get to my higher temperatures due to the cold but it adds more weight to the door. By design, the door hinge is not strong enough to hold the door open over time. My Traeger is only two years old and the hinge has already broken on my door. It is under warranty and I need to replace it because it. And yes, I sold my Green Egg less mess, less fuss, and less temperature fluctuations! I rate the Traeger 4 Stars. Once the hinge design is corrected, I would give it 5 stars!

Me. I also had a problem with my Traeger when it updated while I was cooking I called and the person that I talked to that I had a program he knew nothing about. I thought he did not know what he was doing after he made attempts to correct the problem he advise me I don’t know what I was doing so I sent him a screenshot and he referred me to management after waiting 3 or 4 days I called and a lady answered the phone I explained my problem and she looked at The program and told me I’m going to fix your bbq so you can get back to enjoying your self. I felt she would take care of this problem and she did and I’m extremely happy she did and outstanding job please thank her for me again and every day for a month because she definitely is the best one I ever talk to. Again thank you so much. Mirl

Alarm issues, use your phone for a timer and buy an Weber probe to check temperatures. I really like the app but I am extremely frustrated with the alarms. Meaning the alert alarms triggered by: grill preheat done, grill probe at temperature, grill timer is up etc. so what I’m upset about is when the alarm goes off, the app signals twice then stops. Pretty much means I can’t set my phone down for a second and I need to baby sit temperature and times constantly until the grill is almost done. To get by with the timer issue I use the timer built into the phone, to get by with the temp probe issue I had to buy a Weber wireless probe. Using the Weber probe, the alarm goes off when the food temp is close and then constantly goes off until you physically tell the app to stop the alarm, Not Chirp chirp! Then silence from the traeger app. If Traeger at least allows users to change the alarm duration to constantly go off when temp or time is done. That would be great.

celsius for the love of god. traeger sells grills outside the USA where 99.999 % of people use the metric system. on the grill the temperature setting is in celsius but the recipes are in some antiquated fahrenheit system so you have to constantly do conversions to use the app arhhh

Can’t use wifire. Since the update I can’t connect to wi-fire. The new pairing process is much simpler but I can’t actually connect. Please fix this urgently. I have an Ironwood 885.

Lost connection. After setup the Timberline 850 to Home wifi, the app isn’t able to connect to the Grill. Keep saying Lost Connection, Attempting to reconnect. Hope there is fix update.

Great app.. but. Great app. Love the control and visibility I have over the grill while cooking. Also love the recipes available. But seriously when ever a new update comes out I get force signed out and can’t sign back in. Whoever is doing the app testing (if it’s even happening at all) needs a career change

Good. Good but you can’t change your email address

Needs graphs. Love it, but I would like to see how my cook has been going over time, not just at the time.

You broke a good thing. The previous version of the app work perfectly!!! Why did you make it more difficult and technical than it needed to be. I much prefer the old app. My grill will not connect, I have spent hours and hours trying. Connects to the internet and has the right version of software but still will not connect to my phone.

Good app but a graph would make it better. The app is great especially now it has Apple Watch functionality. However it would be even better if it had a temperature cooking graph so you can keep an eye on stalls etc in the protein being cooked.

Update is horrible. Just got on the app for the first time since the update and it’s horrible, not user friendly at all, change it back to the way it was.

Was great and you just destroyed it. It does not work. My grill is gone. It no longer connects. My saved recipes have disappeared. Want to fix that? Sign up! All you need is a 128 character long password and 4 hours. Honestly. Roll. It. Back. Absolutely disappointing and will not recommend a Traeger to others that were going to buy. Considering ACCC legal action as you have now illegally sold and changed a product that was working.

Went offline. Took about 4 hours of f’ing about to fix it. Almost threw it in the ocean but remembered how much I paid for it 🤬

Ssssmoookin.. Some great features but App seams to stop running in the background needs to connect each time you check something, which causes the alarms/ notifications to stop.

Needs Graphs. For a big company this app is severely under featured. Needs graph views to see temps and monitor stalls. Ridiculous that they haven’t done it.

Traeger. Since the update my app won’t open

Lost the ability to set Temp. Needs a hot fix here…for example, a recipe may say cook to 72C….however you only have the ability to choose 70C or 75C as it’s only offering 5C increments. Please fix this!

WiFire. Grill keeps showing offline in app but shows connected on the grill display. The whole reason why I put a wifire model was so I didn’t have to keep coming outside to check it.

Buster on Delamere. Very happy with the initial set up and first run. Packaging and assembly instructions really good. Did roast pork on first run. Easy to use and terrific results.

Love this app - recipes are sensational. The best! Makes using my smoker a breeze. Please put more Celsius conversions on recipes for us Australian folks.

iPad Support Would Be Great!. Great app would be even better if it supported other devices such as the iPad!

Recipes don’t save. Great app except any recipe you save will disappear from your favourites after a few hours. This is frustrating due to you will need to find it again in the future when needing to reference it.

Love my Timberline 1300. This is brilliant So easy to use

Meat cave. First day today but Love it!

Just bought awesome grill. I have not even started the grill yet , however putting it together was a breeze and the wifi connection is so great to install.

Aussie. A great grill love

First timer. Awesome

Chris Bissels!. Absolutely Awesome - Love My TRAEGER!

Great app… Just needs IPad support. I’m enjoying the app and my Traeger very much, would love the app to be made to support iPad. That way I could split screen my Traeger and MEATER Block app’s to have all the information live on one screen.

No graphs!?. Why the hell this doesn’t have graphs I’ll never know. 3000 dollar (aud) smoker and I can’t get a trend of meat temp

Traeger wifi. Could not be easier to connect to the network

Love Traeger. Easy to use and full of awesome recipes

Lost wifi. Lost wifi access with the latest iOS update also the app closes after opening about 5 times before it opens.

Search tile????. Where’s the search tile to search recipes

Love the smoker, hate the app. At least once a month I either need to create a new account or reconnect to my smoker. These are problems that this app shouldn’t be dealing with at this point. Incredibly frustrating

Dennys smoker machine. This works amazing Cooked over 30 briskets on the same smoker and no issues

Love my Traeger. Hate the app.. Be aware that if your device is unable to use the latest iOS version, this app is unusable. Launched it on my iPad as usual and it says that it has to be updated. But the update requires the latest iOS and my iPad is too old to upgrade to that. So all I can do with the app is look at a YOU MUST UPDATE screen. Nothing else is available. Luckily, I was able to download it on my phone, but the small screen makes it much more difficult to use while I'm cooking. Plus, you have to sign up for an account to do anything. Yes, it's free, but be prepared for an onslaught of email after you sign up. How about just letting me see the recipes without having to subscribe and then unsubscribe to avoid the deluge of spam? Lastly, sometimes all you want is to know what temp/ how long something will take to cook. Try finding that basic info in this app. If it's there, it's pretty much invisible to search. I can get a hundred recipes for chicken breasts, but I can't find out how long it's going to take or what temp to use for the ones I'm about to toss on there.

Don’t install this app.. I love my Traeger. I hate this app.

Wrecked my unit. You jerks it worked fine you force me to freaking download new app and now it won’t connect. Why the frick does updating app cause me to redo everything??? What is wrong with you!!!!!

It is just a BBQ.. It is crazy. I bought a BBQ. And to use it I need to have an account and ridicules password requirements that I will not remember and my email so they can send me marketing stuff I can only assume. So I pay out all this money and in order to use it i get my privacy violated. It is just a BBQ. Is someone going to crack it. Hijack it and take over the world. You must turn on your location and camera. And give the the security to your network reduce you security. And I paid a premium for this.☹️ It sounds like they should be paying me. It might be in that “I agree” thing no one reads as you have no choice but they never say why they need all this information and what they are going to do with it. So Yep I am frustrated and I haven't even used it yet. Thats a great initial impression. 😀

New app = Trash. The new app signed me out. Not longer recognizes my account. Now trying to sign up and connect my Traeger I no longer can. I have been forced to sign up again for an account and the app won’t work. The last few updates have made navigation worse and constantly reroutes to US instead of Canada. Enough issues that I’m debating getting rid of my Traeger moving forward

Great app, great BBQ. Really handy app for controlling and monitoring your smoker. I wish there was a fix to in mute the smoker alarams, for some reason all notifications are silenced. Also, the user should be able to create their own cook programs like the in app recipes

My new traeger. I got the 885, so far I’m very impressed. Great craftsmanship , easy assembly and great packaging!

Can't login to App anymore. This app has a major issue that has existed for years from what I have seen online. Basically, if you ever get logged out of your app, you will not be able to log back in EVER again with that account. Also, you cannot reset your password (both the website and app do not send you an email when you try to reset). So now my only option is to create a new account, re-connect my Traeger and redo the entire setup. It blows my mind that Traeger knows about this issue and has not fixed the issue after so long.

Le top. Je débute avec ce joujou EXTRAORDINAIRE WOW !

Requires too many permissions. The fact that you enforce location access and private proxy disabled are big red flags

Can we get an iOS widget and a patch to make the watch app work properly??. See title.

Customer service. Customer service is terrible. Would not recommend

Wi-Fire keeps going down. I enjoy this app however the wi-fire has crashed every time I turn off my grill for the last 4 times and I have to uninstall the app and re connect everything again. I used the app for 5 months before this started with no issue..

I miss the old app.. App was way better before the update. Missing the beef, chicken, and so on buttons under the recipe options. App seem slow to update when there is problems. Took forever to report that the smoker hade burnt out do to running out of pellets( I have the pellet monitor in the hopper). I noticed the problem before the app. Like I said earlier I miss the old version.

Apple Watch not connecting. My series 8 Apple Watch does not see or connect to the app. The app itself connects fine and I have all the controls I need from my phone. Would be nice to see my MEATER Probe from this app rather then having to open both.

Stoked on smoke. One of the easiest and best grills I’ve used in a while perfect for when I’m out of town and the wife wants to play chef very versatile we enjoy it often enough in the winter and all summer long ! 🤘🏾

Must create an account to use app.. Must create an account to use app.

New application renders my grill unusable from my phone. I’ve been using my Traeger grill and app for almost a year and love it. Recently they pushed a new app or update and not there is almost no aspect of it that works. It lost my grill. Using the QR code to reestablish it freezes. Adding it manually doesn’t work. I was forced to create an account and password which worked then gives me a failure logging into the Traeger site and will not let me access the grill in any way. I am beyond angry with this mess of an application!

Don’t like update. Now it asks for my email and password each time. The viewing screen is smaller on IPad and unable to enlarge. In my saved recipes there are recipes there that ai did not save. I don’t think any “bug” issues were fixed, just made worse.

Connectivity. Would put zero if I could wifire is terrible

I love my Treager. I love my Treager more then porn

Fix the recipes. Why did you remove Beef, chicken pork buttons. The Search only bar SUCKS. Change it back

Traeger’s smoke competition. I love Traeger’s app, from the fact that I can control my smoker away from home or even from the pool, because it is compatible with my Apple watch. Love that! In addition, you got recipe, that don’t seem to be updated too much, but there’s 1300+, so you should be all set for a while… before you decide to develop yours. Enjoy!

Lost super smoke & pellet indicator. Had to reset password went back to the app lost with the super smoke & pellet indicator deleted app twice both buttons still haven’t come back

Weird and invaisive. This app oddly asks to track me across websites and requires a sign in just access the grill control functionality.

Grill good app not. The app keeps throwing low temp errors when it’s heating up. First it says that it’s up to temp then throws you a low temp error. And starts shutting down. Trying to cook for 15 people and it’s giving me a headache. It’s full of fresh pellets and no dust. Traeger brand pellets too.

New app sucks. The new app sucks!! Lost all the catagories and all the recipies! The old app was 100 times better

New app. New app sucks compared to old one. Can’t browse new recipes easily

Won’t Updated !!!. Bummer now my app won’t even open it says update, but won’t open after update?? My phone is iPhone 7, I shouldn’t have to change my life to use my favorite BBQ app! Please fix Scotty is sad 😞

Update logs you out and resets your account. Title says it all. If an app update does this your app team is garbage

Since last iPhone update, problems.. Since the last iPhone update, every time you go to the app, you have to actually log back in again, which is a royal pain! I don’t know if it’s on Apple side or the developer side of the app.

Recipes Good - App Needs Work. Unable to print from app using iPad or iPhone. Unable to use in landscape mode on iPad. Have to go to Traeger website to print but it doesn’t print out the pellet type or the rating. Can’t put the recipe in OneNote because it just inserts the link to the Traeger site. I want to save the recipe in OneNote so I don’t have to struggle with the app. Recipes and food that are made on the Traeger are great.

Smoker. Great smoker and app would be nice to be able to turn off from app

Traeger. Fantastic app. Alliws you do do anything from the app. You can do it while away from the smoker.

T. New update sucks. Missing half the features the old app had.

iWatch control. Lost iWatch control awhile ago, users can only see what the grill is doing and can no longer adjust the temperature Ect from the watch app.

Wifi connection. The grill is great the the wifi connection is a horrible pain. Lost the connection to my grill the password reset didn’t work and had to call support. Support was great but really, I can easily reset a password for any application but the top security for my smoker forces me to spend an hour getting a password reset and reconnecting the grill. I don’t really need security for my brisket, I just want to cook it.

Selling first. The app seems to be design to sell products more than help using the grill Love the grill, though

Update Killed connectivity!. Can’t connect to our smoker since the update. Have tried everything and it will no longer work.

Wi-Fi. Brutal time trying to connect

Traeger 780 pro. Love it! Replaced a 22 pro series. Heats up much faster!

Great app decent ease of set up. Needs a feature that lets your use the iPhone to determine strength of wifi signal from the bbq’s location

WoW WoW WoW. Malade beau bbq

Can’t connect to my grill now. I was forced to update my the app. Now I can’t connect to my grill….

Unstable at best. When it works it’s good. However this has been the 4th time I’ve had to delete my grill and re add it to enable it be connected to the app. Thus the poor review.

Traeger 575. Amazing

New Update is Terrible. Can’t stay logged in anymore so frustrating. Have heard there are other problems but may never know!

Needs iPad Version. Like the app on my iPhone. App needs to be modified and take full advantage of the larger screen and potential on the iPad.

Works great except on holidays. I’ve been using this app now for about 4 years. It’s typically very good and very useful however; tried to use it on thanksgiving day and the app won’t load. Go figure. Checked for latest update and it was 1week ago. So what gives. And before you think it was my Wi-Fi or phone data, both were working fine for everything thing else app related. Seems Traeger has gone way of large corporations now and screw the customer as we’ll just rely on our original reputation of being one of the best. Sorry to say you need some bigger servers, or someone in your IT department to get these “bugs” fixed so the app actually loads on ALL days.

What a sad mess. The new app is out and it still sits in an idle state for long periods before launching. Not every time, mine you but plenty. Open the new app and just watch the smoke rising for minute after minute. There’s another shameful issue that many new customers come to realize and that’s that their smoker WiFi firmware isn’t upgraded. Yeah. Get ready for PAIN. The issue isn’t documented ANYWHERE and if you call Traeger, you’re going to get hit with a twenty minute min hold time. What they may tell you is a secret reset button trick (hold down the Ignite button once you’re in the settings screen) and then leave your Traeger plugged into the wall and “on” overnight with the hopes that you’ll have the new firmware the next day. TRAEGER: Y U No Tell Us This? Is your software guy your son-in-law?

Grill and WiFi problems. WiFi might be a problem for us but we can’t get the grill to fire up for more than a month to find out. We have owned it about 18 months. It starts and then fails. Traeger has replaced almost every possible part (they have sent 4 controllers) but it still doesn’t work and we have been waiting almost 4 weeks on “another “ part. What a disappointment. We were excited about our 575 but if I were you, I’d look elsewhere.

Best Grill Ever!!. Yes. This is the best. It just is. I have grilled with propane, charcoal, wood, smoked, etc etc. Am I a professional, no. Am I a father of 2 boys who devour ribs and meats I cook in this thing, yes. Does my wife like my cooking? Meh, sometimes. She usually rolls her eyes when I’m grilling. She uses the grill more than her oven. (Cash register sound). We can grill from the house or set it monitor it and run errands. Have you ever heard of that. Yes I have cooked a brisket and ran errands then the app went off and I ran home to take it out to rest. Cooking at altitude plays havoc on a man’s timing. To all of you out there. Just buy the right one. It’s a Treager. Enough said.

Good app, needs improvement. I recently bought a Traeger 575 and I love it! I use the app almost every time I cook because I’m a novice and use the app to learn. I have a recipe that I use to app to run load the 575, but recently is does not load anymore. Also, often times recipes require you to remove the meat, do more prep to it and put it back at for a certain amount of time. But, when running cooking cycles through the Traeger app, it does not give you the ability to reset the timer. ie - first cycle finishes, timer immediately resets for the next cycle, but it takes 5-10 minutes to prep for the new cycle. There is a “reset” button, but it does not work. So, hoping these things get fixed! If they do, I’ll re-rate to 5 stars

Back to Traeger. A friend suggested a Louisiana Grill. Tried it out for a few weeks, this was after my first Traeger had finally died. The Louisiana constantly blew smoke in your face when you had to turn something and or remove it, to the point you couldn’t breathe! It also could not maintain an accurate temperature, set it at 350 and it goes to 500! I returned it to Costco and purchased the Silverton 620! Seasoning it right now and noticed while assembling it how much better quality it is!

Customer feedback not important. I reached out to Traeger to suggest they add a few features to their app. My two ideas were: 1.). Include the full history of the cook like the meater app does and also store past cooks for reference. 2.) add a cast option to cast out a dashboard to a TV so that we can monitor our cooks while doing chores around the house. As long as we can cast the signal I can use our av controller to put it in all the TV’s at the same time. Their response was that they delete and do not accept any ideas from customers because they have an R&D team in house and they have it under control without any additional input. As a 30 year tech who knows applications and technology I know these suggestions are tweaks that will take it from a 5 experience to about an 8 on a 1-10 scale. I’m sorry, but not caring what your customers would like to see is a terrible idea… so, from a loyal Traeger guy who’s owned several Traeger over the last 25 or so years who just spent close to 7k to go all in on everything Traeger I was disappointed to say the least.

Garbage App, Decent Smoker. Traeger should have hired a 10-yo to write this App instead of relying on Wife-beater Bubba. It’s poorly designed and constructed. Doesn’t work reliably. Can’t deal with modern software on an iPhone and requires a great deal of patience to do what any half-sophisticated programmer would have automated. It’s still a good smoker, but the latest “upgrade” to the App is worse than the first. Save yourself the frustration and just cook on the darned thing. Bubba don’t know nuthin’ ‘bout Technology, (spit, scratch). If you have the patience for it, the App WIlL connect to the internet, but it ain’t elegant by any measure. Fire Bubba and hire a real programmer! BTW, I’m just a Bubba myself who simply wants things to work…simply.

Had a little trouble at first but so in love now!!!. We just bought the brand new Traeger, and I couldn’t be more happy at first I have to admit I couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to hook up properly but I called triggers customer service and they helped me and it works now and I am so jacked! I don’t even need to cook on my stove anymore ever. This is our second Traeger we only bought this one because it had better features than the old one we had but the old one was lovely as well and we ended up giving it to friends.

Amazing. This is an amazing app whether you own a Traeger smoker or any other kind of smoker. Needless to say, the ability to remotely monitor and control my pit is life changing! The recipes are also so tasty and easy to use. 5 stars easy! I have one request / “criticism”. It would be exceptionally awesome if the probe read out could tell you what the temps were during the cook. So I would like to be able to click on the prope readout from the app and see at what times during the cook the near changes temps. This would help in monitoring the “stall” and be useful information for further cooks. 😁

Love the Traeger, the App doesn’t do the job.. This App could be great, but instead it’s just, well... Meh. first of all, I LOVE my Traeger. The App is basically a mediocre recipe book, and a limited controller. After dropping this much money, I expected Traeger’s app to be more useful. The review below is for the Traeger App, not the BBQ itself. Pros: * Access to the current temp setting, internal BBQ temp, and probe temp. from anywhere. *Includes some great recipe with preprogrammed instructions for the grill at the push of a button. Cons: *NO NOTIFICATIONS!!!! I get literally no option to manage notifications from this app. It appears as though the app isn’t even attempting to use the iOS notification API. In settings, Traeger’s app isn’t even listed. This means I don’t get notified when the meat probe hit’s the preset temperature, when the pellets run out, if I get a low temperature warning, or even when the app’s timer goes off...What’s the point of a timer that doesn’t notify you?!? * Limited programming controls * The recipe search filters are limited. * There could be more recipes * did i mention no notifications? Emergency?! Also, I would love a proper Apple Watch companion app, but focus on getting the iOS app right first!

Can’t log in without using a work around. App is fine. Does what it I need it to do. The app design refresh looks great but is a slog even on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Upgrading to a new phone requires you to re-login into all of your apps including this one. The new app redesign doesn’t allow you access to all the characters you would find in the keyboard such as special characters. I literally can’t type in my password with Traeger’s limitation of characters in their keyboard. I have to type my password in another app on my phone such as iMessage and cut and paste into the login screen.

New app version broke Wifire!!!. ***updated*** I received a message with a trouble shooting app that helped me connect to WiFi. All is now good. This grill is now awesome again! I have loved my Traeger Pro 575. I was able to do what the ad says and “set it and forget it”. However this new app update has broken WiFi connectivity, and it will not join my network no matter what I do. It only wants to connect to itself. Customer service was friendly, but could not offer any real solution. Now I can’t even get through or get a call back. Please fix this Traeger!

Working for me. After all the bad reviews of the update, I made sure not to update until I accidentally did today. I was really concerned but I have to say, no problems here. Working great. Not sure yet if I like or dislike the new layout but the first impression is good. The app asked me some stuff, which I ignored and I was back in business. New layout seems to make sense. No problems with connection, just a different layout. All my favorite recipes were easily accessible and I think I might like the new version better. Certainly easier to see what is going on with my grill.

Great Support, App was a struggle but great now. Connecting the grill to WiFi and connecting the app was a struggle. You essentially go through all the steps and when you get to the end you just restart the app and then it works. I thought I enabled the push notifications but it wasn’t working. Within the app they have a phone number and I was able to talk to someone from Traeger within 5 minutes and we found the Push Notification setting within the app. I enabled this and now get notifications for temperature settings! The app just needs a little more polish and it will be great but its still very good now.

Ironwood650. I should’ve read the fine print more carefully when it said makes a great second oven. It seems to work fine as an oven that’s fueled by wood pellets which are more expensive. I already have an oven and I didn’t need another one. Performance is disappointing to say the least. Super smoke seems to be nothing of the sort. Representatives talk about well you’re not gonna see you very very much smoke. I understand that but I also would expect my food to taste like it had been smoked and not just cooked in an oven. Company has really no great solutions for this. Also having extreme difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi and I was a tall I might have to bring the grill in the house seems like a ridiculous solution. I’m extremely dissatisfied with this product and would not recommend it unless you need an outdoor oven

Not very accessible!. This app does not play nice with apples voiceover. It is a real challenge to use this app. When using voiceover it is very confusing and we miss a lot of the information that would be helpful. As far as the Wi-Fi goes I did get it to work but I think part of that is only because I am an IT person and knew what to look for. You must have a 2.4 G connection in order for the Wi-Fi function to work. It will not work on 5G. The customer service people are not IT people a lot of the information they gave me which is flat wrong. They do however try to help. Paragraph I am hoping that someone will fix the accessibility issues with this app and make it much more voice over friendly so everyone can use it.

WiFire, New App Version Removed Great Features.. First thing I would like to address is that this review is for the APP (2.0.5b6) and not the Traeger Grill. Traeger Grills are amazing. Now for my complaints. - Why would you remove the Sauce Timer from the app? It was such a simple but effective utility that I used every time when smoking a brisket or pork. Yes, I could just use my phone timer but I liked having this app in one place. - Second, why did you remove the custom cook settings? What I am referring to is the setting of the app where I could set my grill to smoke until the internal temp hit X and then it would automatically to change to 450. I had multiple recipes that used a certain cook cycle and I absolutely loved the hands off approach I could take while smoking. I know you might be thinking why rate 1 Star for two things that got taken off the app but it is the principle of the matter, These two things were the big selling points that got advertised from the Traeger sellers to me when I was debating on purchasing the grill. Usually when an app company releases updates to a product they don’t take away features, they add new ones. If these two things ever get added back to the app. I’ll make sure I change this review to a five star.

Excellent addition to a great BBQ!. I have enjoyed the benefits of the Wifire technology along with integration of the recipes with my new Ironwood. This helps you set the temperature, time, and thermometer target temp (Goal) for your selected recipe automatically from the app. A great feature for your novice, average, or advanced BBQ enthusiast. A potential improvement for the “Make Now” feature, add a pause button to maintain the temp without progressing to the next step. That way if your prep time runs a little longer you can easily make an adjustment without restarting the process. Otherwise an exceptional set of features with a great BBQ!

Sign in to use your grill. I’ve used the app for a while. It’s ok. Set temperature, turn off grill, read recipes. Fantastic. I just grilled some porkchops and went to shutdown the grill. No can do bucko. Gotta sign in. I haven’t had to sign in for months so I forgot the password (gotta use letters, numbers, upper case, lower case, symbols, hieroglyphs, mother’s maiden name, social, address) I’m kidding, but it has to be strong password. Anyway. Took me a good 10 minutes to get in the app after resetting pwd etc. why? For an app to turn my grill on and off? Kind of defeats the purpose of controlling your grill from your phone if you have to login to an account you forgot the pwd for. I’m not launching missiles from across the Atlantic here. It’s a grill, not fort knox.

Connected first time with older iOS version. After many attempts, I wanted to share my success for connection of my new Traeger and iOS. I had tried several times using my iPhone and iPad, (iOS v17.1.1). I read on a list that someone had success using an older iOS device. I installed the Traeger app on an older iPad that still had iOS v16.3.1. To my delight, connection to the WiFire on the Traeger worked on the first attempt using the older device. I even have an Eero and had tried every option that I could find (2.4Ghz connection, turn on Guest Account, Turn on Legacy Mode). The only thing that was left "on" at the time was the Legacy Mode. If anyone is having difficulty connecting, I would suggest trying with an older device. After the initial connection to the Traeger, I could control it on the iPhone using iOS v17.1.1. Happy Grilling!

Just an average grill. I bought my grill a few years ago and quite honestly it’s in underperformer. It’s it in a nice covered area and has a cover but yet still has rust forming and control pad works when it wants to. Temperature probe did not work right out of the box had to buy replacement even after contacting customer support. Right out of the box the finish on the grill lid was inconsistent and not very good looking. Contacted customer support and they told me where I could buy spray paint to match the color. That’s what you wanna hear when you spend $1500 on a grill.I think the company is straight a long way from the original concept of the grill now all I wanna do is sell you Traeger swag every time you open your app or try and cook some thing.

Can’t connect. **updated**. Update - as mentioned it is usually operator error. I found a setting. iOS settings, Traeger app, local network needs to be turned on. This is a no brained. However, I found it by mistake. It is not mentioned in any Traeger or online troubleshooting guide. I hope this helps someone else. Normally I wouldn’t rate for this. As I usually believe it is operator error. But being a ex engineer, I’m pretty thorough. I’ve checked to ensure no vpn, confirmed on 2.4, my iPhone will not connect to this app. I also logged into my router to ensure Wi-Fi password. Nothing I do for past 3 days works. Please help!

No WiFi. I bought the Pro 780 for the WiFire. No luck. The app won’t connect. Yes everything with the WiFi is good. Like the other reviewer said. Meat is incredible. But I bought this model for that feature. Update- I finally got the app to work. Then they updated and completely messed things up. What a joke! $1500 for a grill that the main feature doesn’t work! I’ll be selling and never purchase another Traeger. There’s other brands that are as good if not better for far less than this oversized paper weight.

Nice app, 2 big flaws, though. It is a very nice design and there is a lot of content and potential, but there are 2 flaws that drive me crazy: 1) it frequently loses connection to my grill. My grill is still recognized by my router, but the app can’t see it. The issue is intermittent and I can’t figure out why it happens frequently throughout a long smoke 2) there are lots and lots of recipes and they even have filters, but there is no way to filter by specific meat type! Say I have a salmon filet and want to look at all the recipes for it ... there is no way to do this! I have to wade through all the fish recipes. I can hardly believe they launched without this filter

Treager App Review. I purchased a new Treager mostly for the WI-FI app connectivity, the initial setup was a bit clunky but it eventually connected. As of a couple days ago all was working fine until I upgraded my iPhone to 15.5, this effectively broke the app. I researched and tried all fixes and made sure no security changes happened on my device during upgrade, I’ve contacted support via the chat feature in the app, I eventually got a response but explained my issue and never got a response back. Based on the clumsy setup process bad support experience and the fact that the app hasn’t been updated in 2 months I’m kind of in agreement with others that maybe worth looking into another grill Manufacturer with WI-FI capabilities, I’d really hoped Treager would of stepped up their game in this area but clearly fell short in my opinion.

App is great but functionality needs assistance. I love the app ability to monitor my grill and the probe. However - the interface when you select make a recipe leaves much to be desired. You can select a cook option and it won’t let you see next steps or even the step you are on when you have your grill screen up. Additionally some recipes call for setting your probe setting to a number not divisible by 5 (example 204 on midnight brisket) but you cannot set the probe to a specified temp. Overall I love the recipes but if they can update the interface it will be much better.

Your latest app. Your latest app stinks! I feel your infringing on my privately. I just may return your grill I am so upset with what you are doing with the new app! I have a treager grill so why keep asking what grill I will be using every time I go to make this recipe? I’m sure you will say to help in making the product, but I think your doing marketing research. Snooping into what grill people have. Also, I don’t want to set up a account with Traeger. More marketing strategy. Before it was easy to use the app and I appreciated getting emails from Traeger. Now I don’t open them . I think Traeger has become a less user friendly company and more marketing orientated towards its customers. I will definitely research other pellet grills and not blindly buy another Treager.

Most recent app update and UI is BAD! Bugs. So over the last couple months I saw a lot of hype for the new grills. Great! However this most recent app update isn’t good, it’s really bad! I am an an existing customer. The ui is not intuitive and doesn’t actually work when you are in recipes and make now. Did anyone test this? You literally can’t read the recipe and do the app make now temps. I bought a MEATER thermo and don’t use the probe. You sell both but set requirements to use a probe. You are going to lose out if you don’t inform or fix the probe requirement. I won’t use your app to use wifire anymore= less eyes on your stuff. MEATER probe is better. Reverse it into existing firmware. Something is up with high temps and preheating. Won’t hold and jumpy disconnect. Have Wi-Fi 6 and 2 gig bandwidth. My platform didn’t change. Horrible update

New Silverton 810 - Christmas Present Deluxe. Just got our upgraded Traeger from the Texas to a new WiFi Silverton 810. So excited to get started grilling and baking. Product came in 2 weeks of order, very well packaged. We especially love the inside of the big box - artistic woods artwork drawings - perfect to make a playhouse for our six year old granddaughter. She will have so much fun coloring and playing. She will love it! Of course we are ready to make the 3-2-1 ribs for the family, and maybe a big chocolate chip cookie in a cast iron pan. Thank you for the thoughtful surprise!

Not a good update. I agree with most of the reviews regarding this most recent update. Recipes are not as easily found as the previous version and it’s just not as easy to navigate the app in general. I also see some bugs such as not being able to scroll down the entire screen in the learning tab. I personally didn’t see anything wrong with the previous version and not sure why the new design was necessary. I’m sure Traeger will notice this and fix it eventually but I’m hoping it’s sooner rather than later. Pretty unbelievable this update was able to be released and no one noticed the problems. I’ve grown to expect more from Traeger. I’ll update my review when gets fixed.

Great functionality. I love the overall functionality of the app. The wifire is fantastic, and the grill itself responds accordingly. All temperatures and times are accurate, which is awesome for remote monitoring. The reason for the low review is the recipes. They take great pride in all recipes posted in this section, as would I. However, I have found several of them to have extremely inaccurate cook times. For example: the shredded beef... I tried that recipe for the 3rd time, and it is off by about 5 hours. It says to cook the beef for 2-3 hours at 225. I’m going on hour 5, and it’s just showing signs of being rendered/able to pull apart. Use the recipe section for inspiration as to what ingredients to use. Don’t use it as a bible/cook book.

New v2.0 Update Ruined Everything. Been using an Ironwood 885 for about 6 months now without any issues. Traeger just released their new app and v2.0 smoker update and now my smoker is unable to connect to WiFi. After reading their website, states now devices must connect to only 2.4Ghz networks and if you have mixed 2.4/5Ghz then devices will no longer work. So now I get to reconfigure my entire WiFi network and all devices because of Traeger. Stupid! Other app complaint is that the Recipes section doesn’t show the reviews from other users that you can see through the Traeger website. Add review-viewing capabilities to the app and allow 5Ghz connectivity!

Wifire connectivity is spotty at best. Traeger pro had a very hard time connecting to WiFi. Turns out I had to pair it 15-20 times before it finally downloaded a firmware update from Traeger. A new update came out yesterday and suddenly my grill lost connectivity. My grill is still connected to the same WiFi but my updated app doesn’t recognize the grill on my network. The whole WiFi experience is pretty shoddy, I’ve had smokers that were 1/4 of the price that connected to WiFi much easier. They need to fix this issue, a big name like traeger shouldn’t have this many issues. Search for WiFi problems with Traeger and you’ll find thousands of people like me with zero support or help articles on their site. May end up returning this to the store. It hasn’t lived up to the hype.

App design got worse.... The new update made it increasingly difficult to navigate recipes and find recipes based on categories. Now, when you click on recipes, you're left with only a handful of options such as recipes of the week, previously saved recipes, and chicken... Apparently nobody cooks any beef, games, side items, or desserts anymore since traeger no longer shows that on the recipe screen. If you are lucky enough to remember the name of your recipe, you can use the search function to find it; however, it is very difficult to browse new recipes given this "simplified" change. Additionally, the layout is chunkier, so now you have to scroll up more to find what you're looking for or to read through steps and what not. It's almost like the app was made first and foremost to sell the grill rather than use the grill. It should be the other way around. I would imagine most people who have the app already have the grill, if you're reading this and have the app and not the grill, buy the grill— it will be one of your most proud investments— but also buy a Traeger recipe book because their app stinks now.

. I got the silverton model with the wirefire I am diggin’ how I can check or adjust the temp while at the store or in the front of the house. Hey developers, I was trying to send you a recommendation, but can’t find one -please give us the ability to send you a quick recommendation! Secondly, what if we had the option to remotely “ignite” the traeger instead of having to press the ignite button on my silverton. I can imagine now, I prep the meat, text my kid to take the meat out of the fridge to get it to room temperature. I get on my app and upload the profile for the meat and recipe of choice (while still at work” . Come home and bam, smoked meat is done did! Are you catching what I’m throwing?

Using my Traeger feels like Christmas every time!. Thank goodness my neighbor Mike introduced me into the world of smoking with the Traeger. I have now become a seasoned smoker that refuses to eat anything other than perfection. I have even motivated some of my family and friends into the Traeger nation though my evangelical praises. Never knew food could taste so good and now won't have it any other way. I tell people all the time that when I'm using my Traeger it feels like Christmas every time and love it to prices! Cheers everyone and thank you for welcoming me into the world of Traeger!

App doesn’t shutdown smoker. The last three times the app has not been shutting down the smoker. The first time this happened, the smoker ran all night. When I went outside the next day, I was surprised to see the smoker still running. It had burned all the pellets. Wondering if I just forgot, I opened the app on my phone. It said shutting down. Unfortunately it didn’t shut down. The controller on the smoker was still set on the temperature. I tried two more times after using the smoker to shut down with the app, same thing happened both times. App says shutting down, smoker keep running. This app used to work great, not sure what happened.

Love My Traeger. I love my grill, and these recipes help me get the most out of it. Having a resource that enables me to smoke, grill, bake, season, and/or impart hardwood smoke flavor to nearly any food you can imagine is just one more tool in my culinary toolbox. I dislike being limited in my cooking options and look for versatility in every item in my kitchen to keep from having 8 million highly specialized utensils. Even my low end Traeger smoker and grill combined with its app is an exceptional value for the money, and I highly recommend it to anyone that desires a more homey, rustic feel to their cuisine. Grab one, and get to grillin’!

Timerbeline 620. Easy to assemble... even comes with a screwdriver! Small learning curve on diagrams, but anyone should be able to work through it in 30 mins or so. Super well built... Heavy Duty..might need help loading up from Costco. App helps walk you through anything with video tutorials. Did run into a little issues with the WiFire but after 3rd attempt got it all dialed in! They really do such a great job with this product and really it’s a BBQ’ers forum. I’m a no ya and just in the 45 mins or so I’ve invested, I feel like my food is going to be perfection! Super happy with my puchase... going to grill today!

A little buggy. The app is pretty cool but there are some frustrating issues. If you have a wifi connected grill and you have a recipe loaded, the app scrolls to the top every few seconds so it’s really hard to view any lower content. Also, there’s no way to manually move to the next step of a loaded recipe. If it doesn’t automatically move to the next step or you just don’t want to do a step then you have to cancel the recipe and do a custom cook. It’d be nice if there was a way to enter or select a more precise probe temp like 204. It’d also be nice if you could view the probe temp history on a line graph and use that to estimate when it’ll reach your target temp.

The “begin cook” is seriously faulty. The app is so close. The “begin cook” feature constantly tries to restart. Also, when they have a recipe step that says, “Cook at Z temp for 30 minutes and then drop the temp to X temp and cook for 2 hours” one would think the grill would start a timer and auto drop the temp and restart the timer... but no. It stays at the high temp and doesn’t even alert you. Moving to the next step and then going back to the step you’re on, prompts it to ask you to “begin cook” again. Anyways, there is no way to override the begin cook and say, “no. I’m on this step; continue cook”. Incredibly frustrating when you’re on a three-five hour cook and it wants to start over.

I Use for wifire only. I use this app to control my grill only. After looking through all the recipes, I was excited to get started. However I quickly learned that if you don’t have the entire lineup of Traeger rubs, sauces, and bumper stickers, these recipe’s are worthless. Every recipe includes at least one Traeger product that you won’t find in small towns. I was hoping Traeger would give recipe’s that would let me really see what their grills could do, but so far I have not cooked one think off this app due to not having the Traeger branded ingredients that every recipe calls for. Traeger always shoving their products down your throat is getting really old. Next grill will be a pit boss.

Needs one change to be perfect on MacOS with M1 chip. Love the grill, and have been using the iOS app on my phone for a while. The new M1 Mac computers allow you to run iOS apps, and this app *mostly* works great on my desktop. Perfect for grilling while working from home! The only issue is that the grill monitor section of the interface doesn't pop up when running on desktop. You can see the small current temp/probe/time bar at the bottom, but it doesn't enlarge when you click it like on iOS devices. Therefore, you can't adjust settings and timers. Fix that and this app would get a permanent place on my MacOS dock!

Time tested. I always wait to give a review, good, bad or ugly. My Traeger is no exception at just about 4 years (it will be on Father’s Day). This is plainly the best BBQ/Cook with smoke machine on the market. Every single meal from chicken which is always moist and delicious, to fish that comes off amazingly firm carrying the perfect bouquet of smoke flavoring yet maintains its moisture. Ribs, beef or pork are just ridiculously delicious. Chuck roast that falls off the bone. Burgers melt in your mouth and OMG the steaks make any cut of beef taste just amazing. I’ve used my Traeger Pro from -30 Fahrenheit to 100 and it never ceases to deliver or amaze. If something happened to it I’d be knocking down the door to give them my money for another one!

2.0 wifire difficulties. Unable to control the grill temp remotely. I can view the grill and probe temp but I can’t adjust from the app. Worked great yesterday before the update and I’m sure with time this will be straightened out. Also with the new update I had to re-link my grill. Minor but still a pain to get home from work ready to go and have to go through the setup process. Love the new flow of the app though. Will update to 5 stars when problem is resolved. UPDATE: Works great. Thanks for the update.

Latest Update is clunky and buggy. Man, I love this app, but the most recent update (March, 2022) is a mess (coming from an app developer) 1) The grill button disappears often while viewing a recipe and navigating to another app and back. I have to force close the app to get it to come back. 2) The selection UI elements (ex. search results, number of people serving selection, etc.) have really limited touch areas. When trying to change the number of servings, I have to hit the dang thing multiple times just to get the number options to come up because apparently my thumb is too fat for the target element. 3) The app fails to load and you have to reopen the app. This one is intermittent but it never happened before the update. 4) Bookmarks seem to be lost even when I select them with the icon. It’s like it’s not syncing correctly when a bookmark is added. Again, not all the time, but didn’t happen in the previous version. It’s not unusable, new design looks sharp, but more thorough testing should have gone into this. 3/5 until it’s cleaned up.

Please … Landscape orientation. Can you please re-compile this APP with an SDK that permits landscape orientation on an iPad. Very occasionally I use this on a iPhone in portrait mode. 99% of the time it’s running on my iPad on the kitchen counter….and I want it in landscape because that’s how my iPad sits. Very awkward to keep rotating it. And, while you are doing it - enable it so you can have split screen on IOS. These are both modern functions you should be able to implement easily. My MEATER app (which gets 5 stars, unlike yours) does both these things and it would be ‘awesome’ if I could run my MEATER App side-by-side with yours, in landscape mode, on my iPad while I am doing a big cook. Then you’d get more stars. Jc

Basic grilled-turned pro. I got the traeger pro 575 for Christmas and was excited but didn’t think it would make my steaks too much different being a smoker. Long story short, with the amazing, user friendly, in depth app, you turn into a pro. I knew nothing about smoking. This app walked me through everything. I bought two T-bone steaks, typed T-bone in the search for recipes. Boom had step by step directions and I can honestly say it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I only put two basic seasons I had on my steak followed the directions and done. I would of paid 40$+ for what came out. Amazing.

Almost perfect. I love my 575 grill but the app has an annoying quirk where if you’re scrolling slowly through a recipe and you click literally anywhere in a step rather than make a scrolling motion it takes you to a full screen view of that one step and you have to go back a page to get back to the recipe. It would be better if only a portion of a step took you to the amplifying information for that step rather than the entire step. I contacted supported for this as a feature request and was told they don’t take feedback on the app functionality.
