What a Gem. I absolutely never leave app reviews, but I just could not go without recommending this wonderful game. This is the most beautiful game I’ve played in years. The graphics are gorgeous, smooth, and full of color! The puzzles are challenging but not overwhelming, making it possible to progress relatively easy. Finally, the thing that really surprised me the most, was the beautiful little music notes that play as you type out puzzle answers. It’s like you’re playing a tiny, little children’s xylophone. It sounds like a lullaby and is the sweetest, most relaxing thing to hear at the end of a stressful day. This game was incredibly well thought out. It has been at least half a decade since I’ve seen this much dedication put in to a mobile game. Give this game a try!

Love the Game but...update. 7/7/20 Still playing the Game but what is up with a Ad everytime?! I’ve been playing Cody Cross for quite awhile. I don’t like reviewing as soon as I play. I want to see how the game goes first. Now I’m beginning I had one problem ( several months ago) I emailed got it solved. I made a suggestion too. Please don’t make us watch videos if we can watch the videos to earn coins. Now for the past month I have not been able to watch many videos to earn coins. Oh they are there but when I click onto them it does nothing. I’ve lost out on so many coins to earn. 3 times I could’ve earned 6 coins per video. Just now it was 3. It’s happened many many times. Very frustrating. So I tried to email support to let them know. It says I need to down load app for mail. Ummm I have goggle and yahoo apps for emails. I’ve used them before to email support. So what is going on. I’m getting very frustrated

INCREDIBLE❤️. In my opinion, i think that this is such an amazing app. To me it is so addicting. Whenever me and my family go on road trips or are waiting for something or sometimes even when we are just bored I would start playing and tell them the clue or definition, and since they are still in midst of learning english properly this benifits them at the fullest, and then they would try to help me figure out the word. I would absolutely recommend this game to anyone who is trying to learn english. The main thing to me that bugs me a little bit is that there can be some couple of frequent ads and i understand that ads would help the game earn money and that there also other games that’s have far more ads then this game has but i still feel a tiny bit unpleased. Overall i would absolutley recomend this game to any person that is trying to learn english.

Ads and content. I know that ads are necessary, but why so many, why so long and the same ad all the time. Is there a need for 30 second game ads? 15 seconds is enough to get the point of the game across. Also, I have founds games that don’t match the same games in the online CodyCross online answers. It’s frustrating when the answers can’t be found either your help or from the internet. It would be nice if I trusted that people at Cody Cross read these reviews and tried to fix or st least change. I’ve been playing this game for a couple of years and I’ve noticed that not much has changed since my first review. If I could I would now rate this game with 2-3 stars.

Unauthorized charges and points disappear. I love this game and I hate to delete it but it’s constantly cheating me out of my tokens and it buys stuff without me authorizing charges. I will have over 1000 points be in the middle of playing all the sudden they disappear and all these extras show up in my board that I have not clicked on to use. The game locks up on the purchase screen when I’m advancing to the next screen. I get out of the screen making no purchases mind you the next day I have unauthorized charges from this game from my bank account. This has happened too many times so I had no choice but to delete the app. The developers I feel have this set up intentionally because it’s very sneaky the way they do it. This practice should be outlawed . I want no part of it. It’s not the minimal charges it’s the principal of the matter. I have been playing games for years and I’ve never had one set up to cheat like this one does.

A Cross between Word find and 😁crossword game... I love this game! It has helped me find words I had problems remembering! I love the chance to think up the correct words and if I can’t, then getting other words causes letters to fly into words waiting for me to get them! You can win coins that allow a “li’l guy” astronaut to award you letters at the cost of one coin per letter, so there is a lot of help here! The graphics as you travel from section to section are amazing...you can choose to play free or buy a subscription....there is plenty of play for Free. I have been playing for nearly 2 months...just about every day...Support is great and (ads are few and x makes them go away, fast!) I wish all games did this, I would be playing them, too...but there is a lot of fun here...A family could help, shouting out the words...how fast can your family get one level/5 games? “TRY IT...YOU’LIKE IT”💜💜💜😀😀😀

Responsive to suggestions. Today I came across a clue that said “conscientious ___ refuse to perform military service”. As a 13-year Army Veteran as a conscientious objector and an Infantry Medic, I was quite offended. I challenged the definition and, initially, was told it was in accordance with Webster’s. However, once I clarified the definition and offered an alternative, “Conscientious ___ refuse to bear arms in military service”, they understood and were submitting for a change. I am proud to have effected this small change, and it says much about the designers. They want to create something fun and dignified. Thank you, fanatee, for acknowledging those of us who served while still respecting our own morals. High marks for every aspect of this game and its creators!!!!

Would be nice.... This is a very enjoyable game with some tough questions. BUT it would be really nice if the game gave something back, like a few coins when you finish a puzzle. This game doesn’t hesitate to take our money, which is a ridiculous price, so why can’t they give something back? Ya know, for winning?? I’d up my stars if they did this until then, bye bye UPDATE. what genius decided on giving clues instead of coin for watching the videos? Seriously. I always watch the ads and get my 3 coins every game. Not anymore. I hope I’m not the only one who will complain about this. I don’t mind watching the ads, but would definitely prefer coinage over the hints. Thank you for listening. And will wait for a response. Another UPDATE: ok. So getting the clues instead of tokens is a good idea. So why are we still getting tokens. Obviously they are not good for anything, unless you have something else up your sleeve. So. Please. No more tokens. Clues are just fine and dandy, thank you very much

🤘 CodyCross ROCKS!!! 🤘. I downloaded this app only a day ago and now I'm addicted to it. This is one of the greatest games I've ever downloaded! It's great for lots of reasons. For one, it has no ads. Most apps have ads that take a while to finish or that make the device close down, but not CodyCross! There have been zero glitches and it runs very smoothly. Most of the other apps I've purchased shut down or crash, maybe bc I don't have space or they're just bad apps, but this has been one of the smoothest-running apps I've had yet. And plus, this is a great educational app. It helps build your knowledge of the meanings of words. This app is great!!! Would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for fun apps. This is number one on my list of the best apps I've ever had!!! 😀😜😂🤘👍🏻

Cody Cross. I have lived this game from the beginning ! It is a word game that actually makes your brain think! Words come that you had long forgotten but when you see them you go back to a teacher or a friend to have you this word many years ago. When I first started the games were very plentiful and went in for months! Now it is only a few every month! I am sure doing these puzzles is not easy but from my end it is very disappointing to play then suddenly they are done! I check everyday to see if it’s back and am so upset when it isn’t! It almost makes me want to stop playing. I can’t decide if I’m happier doing some or more disappointed that it’s done! Please get Cody back on track with more continuing games!

I adore this game!. If you’re looking for a simple and fun way to waste some extra time, this game is it! (Tbh I play it whether or not I have time to waste!) It’s controls are very straightforward—you use your phones built-in keyboard. The duration of the game seems to be limitless and so does the diversity of questions. I am on puzzle 339 and I’m still not tired of it. I am disagreeing with some of the other reviews by saying this, but I haven’t found any of the hints to be agitating or lacking if you will. Even if they might be misleading, that’s just part of the fun! It is a puzzle after all. Nothing in this game causes me anything but joy! The ads do put a slight damper on things, but the game has an offline mode which gets rid of most of them for me. I appreciate the developers doing a good game by producing such a great game. Keep it up guys (and gals)!

4.9/5 Stars. Great and fun game overall!. I don’t normally write reviews for games, but I’ve been playing this game for a LONG time, and that just said proves that this game is very fun and addicting. If you’re a fan of word searches/crossword sort of games, then you’ll love this. Sure this game could be pay to win, and in some cases you might get stuck and feel urged to pay money just to beat the level you’re stuck on. I 100% recommend not to spend any money (Unless it’s to remove the ads, although you could just turn your WiFi/Data off and the ads will stop) The reason I said a 4.9/5 starts is because of the ads. Luckily they don’t appear while doing a level, only when you finish one, but still it’s pretty annoying after a while. Other than that I love this game and always come back to it when I’m bored.

Super fun!. I really do love this game. A lot of times I’ll put on a podcast and just sit back and play through a few puzzle groups. The only reasons I gave it a four-star rating is because first, the amount of ads you’re made to watch is absurd, and they’re usually 30 seconds and are totally unskippable. I get needing to make money off your app, but it’s a little ridiculous. The second reason is that some of the clues are really vague and could be a little clearer. As it is, there are always a handful that are oddly niche, and I’m waiting to finish other answers and have the letters fill in in the hopes that I figure it out. Googling it takes the fun out of it, but sometimes, it’s your only choice. And some of the clues are so poorly chosen, or frustrating as a whole. For example, the one I just got today was, “Transatlantic ___ stands out in San Francisco skyline”. The answer was “pyramid”. Apparently there are no more remarkable pyramids in the world than an insurance building. Overall, I’d highly recommend the game. My two complaints aren’t even close to enough to make me stop playing. I lose hours to this game and I don’t even mind.

Good game. Overall it’s a really fun game, I’m on Group 97 right now so I’ve played quite a bit. There’s only two things I don’t like, which are 1. If you want to remove ads, you have to buy a subscription where you get more levels and stuff, but you have to pay a certain fee every week/month/year or whatever and it’s way too much money for what it is. And 2. There are too many Christianity related questions. And no, I’m not complaining just because I’m not religious. If there were questions about other religions that balanced out the ones about Christianity, I would be okay with that. But thus far, I have had absolutely no questions about any religion except Christianity. Plus there’s a Christianity related question in nearly every question set and it just seems a little excessive. But overall, it’s a fun game. I’ll probably continue playing it for a while.

Great Game BUT THE ADS!!!. Pros: Really fun game, great graphics and sound. I play on hard mode and have accumulated enough tokens from watching ads to help with revealing letters of words I don’t know. It’s a relaxing game. And you can always look up the answer on the internet! Cons: THE ADS! Come on developers! There is an annoying ad in between every single game or a little token icon pops up while you’re playing asking if you want to earn 3 tokens by watching an ad. You don’t have to watch that but the others you do to proceed the game. I don’t tho. I manually re-start the game to bypass the ad and it gets to be ridiculous. Looked into paying for no ads and it’s expensive AND it’s not permanent! I still play, however, but I don’t see me staying in the long term like other games - simply because of the ads...

Fun, but could be better. I like word puzzles in general, and I really like this game overall. The clues are generally a nice mix of obvious, and “I need to think about that some.” Where I think this could really set itself apart, and where it really disappoints me, is after solving these puzzles and revealing an interesting word like “tetraodontic” or a term I wasn’t familiar with (Helladic period), I feel like I’m left hanging. There is no explanation of what the word or term is, or any hyperlinks to wiki entries to expand on the word/concept. Sure, I can look them up myself, but then I’m less likely to return to the game. Some of the concepts that are brought out in the game (globalization, coastal erosion, sustainability) are particularly relevant for our times. Not making it easier to learn more seems to be a missed opportunity.

It’s okay. It’s an okay game, fun to just tap on every once in a while and do some thinking. HOWEVER, you only get coins for hints once a day, and to get more you have to watch ads. I have multiple problems with the ads on this game. A recent ad that was put on the app doesn’t let you skip, and it won’t let me ex out of it either, I’ve watched it 3 times total, and there’s no way for me to get out of it so I have to completely close the app and reload it to get to the next level. Differently, but still aggravating, you Have to watch ads to get any more coins, and you’re also forced to watch ads after you finish a puzzle / before you start a new one. These ads aren’t skip able after 5 minutes, (I can’t ex out of them for some reason and I have the iPhone 11), and they don’t give you any reward, even though if I wanted to watch an ad 5 seconds earlier I could have gotten coins in return. The ad system is nuts.

Not too shabby. I’ve played this game for a while and I’ve learned many new different things. The overall gameplay is good and couldn’t ask for much more. Every so often you get a chest that gives you coins and little helpful characters, so you aren’t forced to by anything in the actual gameplay. The only issue with the entire game is the ads. I mean they pop up after every level you complete, but to be honest every game nowadays has ads. At least this game doesn’t have an add pop up every 30 seconds. Overall I would recommend the game if you’re willing to sit through an add after every level. Or you can just pay to get rid of them.:) 9/10

Please let me pay ONCE to get rid of ads.. This game is not difficult. It’s just the right level for an educated adult without being frustrating. The sound effects are pleasant, too. Occasionally, words are included that are super uncommon. And based on some of the definition wordings and word choices, I have a feeling the developer is British or Australian. Could be wrong. I detest the ads, though. I appreciate that I can skip them after a few seconds; this is the ONLY game that has ever allowed that. But why not provide an option to get rid of them completely? I’d happily pay a ONE-TIME fee to get rid of them. I’m not subscribing to anything and certainly not paying - what is it - $70 a year? just to play a word game. Even a new XBox game doesn’t require you to pay a fee year after year to use it, so I’m not sure why anyone would do that for an app like this. I only play adventure mode and don’t care to “subscribe” and get “packs.”

Fun, but could expand on clues!. This is such a unique way to do crosswords, and honestly I don’t have an issue with even the hard clues because generally skipping around in a puzzle gives you enough extra letters to figure out the hard ones! That being said, I think many of the clues could benefit from an additional note if the answer is two or more words. For example, if a clue says “Never aging story written by Barrie” and the answer is “Peter Pan” there should probably an additional (2 words) added to the clue. This example is fairly simple because I would already know the answer without that addition, but other clues not so much. Sometimes it’s harder than it should be when players are looking at the spaces, trying to imagine a single word, when the answer is actually 3.

Really like this game. I have been playing this game for about two months and really like it. Even though many of the clues would never be answered without the drop-in letters (either slang, regional, etc.), I still like playing it. But what I don’t understand is the “rate the question” feature. It doesn’t impact the playing at all but I do not see a need or purpose for it. I would rather see the “secret vertical” answer be explained/defined. Who cares if the clues are boring or not - especially since you only ask about one per game? Many of the secret vertical words/phrases are unknown to me. I think their definition would be more educational or informative to many players. Just my opinion....! Again, I really like the game.

Extremely Entertaining and Great Way to Pass Time - One Issue Though. This is one of those games I always find myself coming back to because there are so many stages, it feels like it's never going to end. Variability in difficulty between episodes. I've even gotten multiple members of my family and my friends hooked on it. The only thing I've noticed is in the last few weeks, I've been getting some ads that will run their full time, and when I try to close them out, they just continue to open and close the App Store and the end of the ad. I have to completely close out of the game and reopen it. More of an inconvenience than anything else, but something I would like to be fixed.

Please add more levels!. I have been playing CodyCross for a couple of years now. I absolutely love the game, but have come to the end of the puzzles. Being on a fixed income I can’t afford to “subscribe” to the game, but I don’t understand why it takes so long between adding new puzzles. It seems like it takes two or three months sometimes before a new level is added, yet your games says “New levels added every Month!” I don’t know how many people I have encouraged to play this game, I do know I have all my grandkids and one of my sons pretty much addicted to it, but now I don’t see the point. It was a lot of fun, however now I get tired of checking all the time to see if there is a new level added. Thanks for the fun you’ve given me in the past. Hoping you’ll change the process.

Fun game, but way too many ads. This is a game I pop in and out of occasionally. I enjoy it when I play it, for the most part. It’s the ads. Hands down, it’s the main reason I can’t play for more than a few minutes (or boards) at a time. There’s just too many of them. I don’t mind watching the occasional ad, I get it, the developers have to make money. But it’s constant. And it costs WAY too much to get rid of them. 9.99 A MONTH? Are you kidding? I will happily throw down $2 or $3 for a one time ad removal and then just watch ads to get additional bonus stuff (at my choosing). For now though? I have no desire to spend any actual money on coins or anything with the number of ads I have to sit through. Please reconsider the amount of ads OR have an ad removal option for a reasonable amount of money. EDIT: I know that I can purchase the coin packages that have the “bonus” of ad free for a short period. Guys, that’s not worth it.

Once-fun game now ravaged by annoying interactive ads.. I never leave reviews on apps, but I needed to for this one. I have been playing and enjoying CodyCross for at least a year now. There has always been ads in this game, but typically you could get through a few puzzles before a single ad would pop up. As a fellow developer, I found this reasonable. Recently, this game has changed to 1 video ad AND 1 interactive ad for every puzzle you solve (ranging from ~7-15 words). There is also no way to pay to disable ads, which should be easy functionality here in 2019. At this point it feels like a barrage of ads with no end in sight. Thanks for the fun while it lasted, I want to like your game but your user experience is going down down down. The premise of this game is that of a crossword puzzle with a little twist. When you solve a word, typically this triggers a few letters elsewhere in the puzzle to solve themselves to help you out. The character is whimsical and completely irrelevant.

My Sight of the Game. I’m gonna try to make this short and simple. The thought of a game like this is nice and cool however the clues are very unhelpful. I’m a teenager playing this and the ad said “ Play this for fifteen minutes every day and you’ll get better memory” or something also those line but I have been playing this for quite a while and it’s not helpful at all. The easy levels aren’t really easy. The game says for 4+ but not even a six year old would be able to play this because it’s extremely hard even for me. If you weren’t taught certain words growing up then this game is just too hard to play. Honestly please make easier levels. Also maybe the player isn’t ready for adventure mode and wants to do the easy pack but isn’t allowed to use money on games like me. What then? What if I’m not ready for adventure mode and want to go easy on myself but can’t? Will I just be restricted from the easy levels forever? Maybe premium could be used for different things other then levels, because that’s like playing Candy Crush but you have to pay to go past level 50 or so. Maybe it could be for more free hints. But having for the levels really restricts the player. That’s it I just wanted to say that now bye.

What’s going on??. I play EVERY day and lately I have been getting notices that I must pay tokens or lose my daily streak. Why? I play every day at all hours of the day, and yet 2 or 3 times a week I am given this notice. I already paid for this app and I’m really unhappy with this new money grab. Tell me what the cutoff time is then. What time does the day start and end? Does your day have 24 hours to it or some arbitrary number you make up every day? I can’t tell you how much this angers me. Fix this thing or make it plain when the day’s cut off time is. Not that it matters, I already don’t trust you. Get your act together, you grifters.

Review Update. My comment of three years ago about the ads still holds true but, as one might expect, they are longer (on average), and often take three or more steps to exit and paying for no ads is not worth it. The twenty sets of regular games vary in both quality and ease. That said, some have the most bizarre, unheard-of “facts” imaginable. There is likely no one living on earth that has heard of some of them and that includes the set developer who has likely forgotten some of the most strange ones by now. The upside is that the games do, at times, make one think. I doubt that it could be clinically proven that they are good for one’s brain, but they fill idle time. I add that I coached a high school academic team for over thirty years, and Cody Cross is not going to match the intellectual “trivia” one might expect to encounter.

Used to love it now I can’t stand it!!. Please remove all these ads that keep popping up or I will delete this game, it’s not even a fun game anymore. I’m on 128 in Culinary Arts I’ve gone so far in this game and I've really enjoyed playing this game, but all of the ads have taken all the fun out of it. This used to be a great game and I loved it but after the update it’s awful and full of ads after every level. I liked it before when I could watch a few second video and get free hints, but this is ridiculous. If you can’t make all of the extra ads go away I will have to delete the game and I would hate to I’m in Transports group 110 but I can’t even go to the board without yet another ad popping up and I just got to that group. Come on seriously!! Please fix it I really don’t want to delete it and I can’t stand to play it anymore it just sits there I keep hoping I’ll go into my game and the ads will be gone but nope.

Fun, but needs improvement. I have really enjoyed this game so far, but the main reason I write this is so I can give some criticism. First, I feel the difficulty goes all over the place. Going from six- to nine-letter clues is way harder than it sounds. If the first part of the game had only six or seven letters, and the eight or nine letter puzzles were saved for later, the game would be much more approachable. Also, some of the clues are just far too much out there. I feel like literally nobody would know some of these obscure clues without Googling the answer. The most frustrating thing though is the fact that the clues don’t tell you how many words are in each answer. Normal crossword puzzles tell you if the answer has more than one word, so why not this game? There are so many clues where I’ve been stumped since the puzzles make it look like it’s always one word, but many times it’s two or even three. If I had known that, I could have gotten the answer easily. If the devs see this, please fix these issues. It would make the game better for anyone.

Score tracking flaw. I’ve been playing for about a year and have a playing streak going of just north of 330. Just today I discovered a score tracking bug in their word guessing game (very similar to Wordle). Today I managed to guess the password on the very first guess. Crazy, right. Anyway, the indicated that the password was guessed in one attempt. There are six columns, 1 thru 6 where it counts the number of attempts it takes to solve every password. The number of attempts used to solve the current password is presented in a different color than the previous games and the count for that number of attempts increased by one, except when the password is solved on the first attempt. The game does show that the password was solved on the first attempt but the counter doesn’t get incremented by one. In other words the counter continues show that the number of games where the password was guessed on the first try stays at zero. Otherwise a great game.

Feedback. While this is a great game. I’ve been playing for several weeks. I didn’t have any glitches but now am having some issues. I couldn’t find a place to give feedback so came here to do so: I’m finding a problem with certain ads that play and them you can’t get back to the game. Normally, you click an X or click on ‘done’ but some have no X and the only place to click is something that looks like an modified arrow that just takes you to the game in the app where you can click ‘done’ which takes you back to the end of the video which you can go thru the same procedure in an endless loop. It started with Clockmaker game but just now happened again with another game app. The only way to get back to the game is to shut it down and start again! Please fix this.

Good Game, But A Few Things Need To Be Fixed!. The game itself is great. I love how many worlds there are, and how many puzzles are within each world. I hope you guys continue to keep adding more in the future. Maybe a futuristic world. The reason I only game it 3 stars, is because for one, you guys completely broke rotation for iPad. It doesn’t work at all. Speaking of rotation, for the love of all things CodyCross, PLEASE ADD IPAD LANDSCAPE MODE SUPPORT!!! The second reason I gave this game 3 stars is because of how the advertisements in work in this game. I realize ads help keep this game free, but I don’t appreciate when an advertisement automatically opens my App Store to go straight to the game or app that’s being advertised without my consent. I don’t even have to tap anything on the screen for it to do this. You guys need to fix this if this is a problem on your end. No advertisement should be allowed to do this. Ever. Also, I’m not sure if it’s just because of the Halloween theme, but the tones for when typing seem to be lagging and way out of pitch. And when typing on the keyboard it also lags as well. I hope you guys address these issues. Thanks.

Glitches. I have been playing CodyCross for roughly five years. I really enjoy the quality and questions in the game. I am an older adult and am very happy with the challenges of the game. I have only one issue with the 1.60.0 version, every time the game has glitched on start up. I have checked my internet connection each time and that hasn’t proved to be the problem. All other games I play online work just fine. At this time I can’t even play offline because it won’t load. Do you have any suggestions for me to try? I don’t want to have to stop playing CodyCross but I don’t know what else I can do. Thank you for your time in reading my concerns. Respectfully Submitted

Some clues too generic. I understand that it might be difficult to find unique words that fit the puzzles and you’ll have to look some up here and there. Usually you’ll get enough letters to be able to make a guess, but lately I’ve had entire puzzles where I’ve never heard of the clues or answers or random peoples names. I’m on level 245 now and finding myself having to search more answers than I’m able to figure out. Some player on a minor league sports team in a third world country or a Czech protestors name etc. There’s maybe a handful of people in the world that could have a random guess at some of these. I would also guess that English isn’t the first language of the developers. Some of the singular/plural, future/past tense etc is off. So unless you know what oudekerk and greatauk and other words your spell checker won’t recognize you’ll end up frustrated.

Do Not Subscribe!. Subscribers beware! I did a one month subscription; 8 days later connected to Facebook & lost all access (even though it still shows I am subscribed). Prior to connecting to FB, there was no prompt stating you will lose access. I sent an email this morning hoping the developers can fix the problem...as of yet, have not heard back. Update: I still have not rec’d an email back from the developer. Canceled subscription & requested refund from iTunes. **Even though it’s the weekend, the developer should monitor email, especially regarding subscriptions** Update: You have my email, along with a picture of my subscription transaction. Perhaps you should check your junk email... I have noticed from past reviews where others have emailed you, you have responded w/ the same excuse, “I cannot find your email...” AND Restore does not fix the subscription; tried it before emailing you. Update: You ignore/do not respond to emails bc they do not match screen names? So let me get this straight - if your customers have issues with your game, do not email, instead write a review? You should respond to ALL emails from customers that are having difficulty with your game (esp. when it involves money); not ignore emails bc the names do not match the review. Ignoring emails is never the way to go. Apple refunded the money.

Fix broken ad or I’m deleting. So, let me just be clear, I love this game, and I’ve had a ton of fun playing it. Now, I’m not the type that pays for extra coins or addons or anything like that, so I don’t mind watching a few ads when I need a little help, but there’s one specific ad that completely ruins the experience. The ad being the “Idle Factory Tycoon” ad. It’s nothing but a blank ad page with a countdown, no problem there. The problem with it is that once the timer finishes and I can exit the ad, it won’t let me exit. I wait, no exit. I press the button 20 times, no exit. The only way I can return to my game is to close out completely and reopen it, which means I lose the coins I was watching the ad to get in the first place. Beyond that it just really breaks the flow of the game when I’m on a hot streak which makes me want to just call it quits. I’ll give it a five star rating once this gets resolved

BEST GAME!. This is one of the best word games ever! The graphics are great, the sounds are great and it can be challenging. I have been playing for a year and the changes that have been made recently, have made this an almost perfect game. Only 1 minor issue, the ads. I completely understand that they are there so we can play for free, but sometimes the ads take you to the ads website. I’m ok with the ads, but see if something can be done about that. Thank You to the developers for a super game!!! UPDATE: I have been playing this game daily for over 450 days and it is STILL the BEST GAME EVER. Thank you to the developers and I have tried the other game LunaCross. I still like Cody Cross better!!

Love!. My husband and I play this together every night at bedtime. We are addicted and unfortunately so close to finishing the levels! I have seriously considered purchasing more, though! I do have a few comments, suggestions. We have found certain topics seem to be very repetitious...The Simpsons, for one. So tired of them. There are also a lot of terms that are not universal and are obviously from England. It helps that my husband went to school there, but it would still be nice if you used the most universal terms and spellings. Overall, we greatly enjoy the game despite the annoyance of the new ad placement. We can deal with them though they did spoil the flow of the game.

A great way to pass time.. I very much enjoy this game. I do a full set of five every night. It stays fairly challenging (usually), and has a good balance of common and esoteric knowledge. Easy to play free. Ads aren’t too bad, rewards are great for just playing a bit and keeping a streak. Even the cost of playing without ads isn’t prohibitive. In terms of problems, the only thing keeping it from five stars is the unpredictability of what letters will fill in what. If I know four of five answers, it isn’t fun to have all of those basically fill in, but to have no letters to help in another word. Also… so many questions about fish and marine life, guys (especially sea slugs for some reason). Again, I appreciate esoterica, but i feel like there is a fish clue in every other puzzle.

A little too hard. Okay I’m not complaining about the game it’s wonderfully made!! I love the way when you start out it shows Cody with his little tablet and when I’m spelling the words it makes me feel like I’m actually on this new planet with my tablet discovering stuff! But being the age I am still young and in the tween years almost teen at 11 almost twelve some of the words are a little hard it would be better if you made the words like common words like flower or computer common words that every body knows about I am not aloud on you tube or google and what I’m aloud to watch is very restricted so when it asks me stuff like what was the dance that this person did I’m like I don’t even know who that is I’m stuck on level three!! I tried some of the other ones but it’s a little hard please can you make the words a little easier at least make a thing we’re you can change the difficulty because I know some people like a challenge I don’t know what all the people are complaining about they do forget you have a family to provide for thank you 😊

Great app when it actually loads. Past 2 days app just won’t open. Stuck on loading screen. This happens pretty often honestly. Didn’t used to happen 2-10 years ago. Idk what’s up with this app recently. All developers response is “send us an email in app”. How is anyone supposed to do that when the app doesn’t load? Maybe if they actually read what they were replying to. Tone deaf. If the dev replies with “oh just send us something in app” I’ll laugh. I CANT OPEN THE APP. Edit to developers response: idk in what world the opposite of “happens pretty often” is “doesn’t happen pretty often”. If I email you’re just gonna tell me to update my phone or update the app, both of which are already updated. You act like I’m the only one with this issue. Still love the app though, when it actually loads. Which is less than “pretty often”.

This game is perfect as is!. I read quite a few reviews before downloading and my first thought 💭 was, “these people are just complainers!” So I downloaded the game and, easily breezed through the first 10 levels. I had to force myself to stop playing and write this review! Every bad review are from people who are natural complainers, I believe. They’re like that manager that never see what good you do only your mistakes. They just have a critiquing spirit/aura..whatever you want to call it. Now, the puzzles had me thinking but not overly complicated. I knew the answer just hadn’t used the word in years. I actually love 💕 this game and really wish people would slow up on the negativity. The developers did an awesome job with this game. Graphics ✔️ Puzzles ✔️ Ads ✔️ Yes there are ads but what game doesn’t have them? They’re not after every single level. I believe they come after you complete a group which is 5 levels. Even then you have the option to skip watching the ad. Developers, keep up the great job! Don’t change nothing! Just add like a million more levels so this game never ends!!!

Good Improvement System. A while back I had tried playing this game, but some of the questions were really easy and the game was rather boring due to the lack of challenge. However I saw an ad for Cody Cross while I was playing another mobile game, so I figured I might as well try it out again. Turns out the developers for this app added in a review after each level. After each level it asks if a certain question out of that level is fun or boring and they use this customer feedback to exterminate low-scoring questions, and it seems that it has made the game far more challenging and interesting! I have enjoyed this game so much that I haven’t put my phone down since I started playing it, four months ago! Karen if you’re reading this please let me have weekend visits with our kids y’all mean the world to me I promise I’ll get off my phone and spend time with them. But due to the addictiveness of this game I had to give it four stars and not five. Yes this game is fun, but the cost of losing your wife and kids is not worth it.

Decent crossword game. The game itself is fine. The reason I had to delete it is more cosmetic. The animations when you start a level and finish a word are more obnoxious than endearing (though the fact that there ARE animations is obnoxious to me), but the absolute deal breaker is that the game forces you to use a new powerup when it’s introduced. No skipping. I don’t like powerups for these types of games in general. I think it distracts from the point of the game: figuring out the clues. I can understand having them, and they’re helpful if you get stuck on something you just don’t know. But being forced to use one when you don’t want to, when you’ve just started a level and don’t even know where you’ll need help yet, is patronizing, obnoxious, and ruins my enjoyment of the game. What is the point of me playing if you apparently want the little alien things to play for me?

Cody Cross. I have enjoyed playing this game for quite a while now but lately every day you keep trying to sell ad-free versions. I am not against ad-free games and buy them regularly but $7.99 is way over what I am willing to spend. The highest I go is $4.99. That being said, as soon as your ad-free version became available you increased your ads ten-fold. If you think that will convince me to pay for no ads, think again. In fact, if you hit this game with even more ads I will delete the game and strongly urge others to do the same. I don’t mind paying for something…even FREE games but I will NOT be taken advantage of. Do you suppose you could see your way clear to lower the price a few dollars and I definitely will buy it. Today: for the past few weeks, this game will not download. After a few windows where it says it’s gathering game play, nothing happens. I am so tired of these glitches that when I get done contacting you, I am going to delete the game.

eh. this game is really fun, but i do have a couple big complaints about it. 1. This game is leaning heavily towards the older-ish people because of most of the questions it asks. i have to ask my parents who are in their thirty’s about most of these questions. i have my difficulty setting on easy, and the questions are still meant for the older generation. 2. You only get 30 or so tokens at the begging of the game, and i honestly didn’t know what they were for because the game didn’t tell me. I later found out that these token are meant to be spent using your little power ups, which can cost upwards of 7 tokens. so i spent all of my tokens in the very start and now i have no tokens. the game does let you get 1 single token by watching an ad, but you have to wait 15 minutes before you can get another one. 15 MINUTES! 3. there is an option to play other mini games in the option bar, but you can only really do 1 level before you are asked to either spend it 1 token, or get premium. which if you ask me, is dumb. they’re premium option doesn’t really even benefit you in a lot of ways. this game can use a little work. i hope this was helpful.

The good and the bad. I read a review about this app before I bought it. It was from a young man who stated that he had not had all the advantages of a mother reading to him, a solid educational base, and the opportunities afforded by life experiences. Indeed, this game would be difficult under those circumstances. He also pointed out that it would be too difficult for most children (it is rated for 4+ years). This is a game for adults. When I play I have to have plenty of time and patience. The advertisements between puzzles are irritating. I would rather spend some money to stop all ads. There is an option of a monthly subscription to end the ads or fork over some $$ to go add free for “x” number of puzzles but I would prefer a one and done payment. I also agree with another player who indicated that the spaceman is a little juvenile, I agree. This game will most likely be eliminated from my iPad.

Great game!. I've read through some of the reviews, and I just don't see the problems that those people do. I enjoy the fact that puzzles of different lengths occur randomly, so that one time you have 6-letter words, and the next 9-letter words. I have run across very few words where I needed to consult Google. I've used it perhaps six times. I haven't found any odd spellings of words. I like the fact that the number of words in an answer aren't indicated--it makes me think. Most of the levels have been pretty easy so far. It's a lot easier than the New York Times crosswords, which I appreciate. And I have no objection to words like asylum, global warming, climate change, etc. Conservatives must be hyper-sensitive--or have guilty consciences--to consider those part of some leftist conspiracy. Finally, any child old enough to play this game successfully is old enough to be exposed to the words the puzzles contain. The ads get to be a little annoying, but the developers need to be able to generate income so that they can continue to add levels and develop new games. Too many times people forget that the people who make the games also have families to support. This is a fun, addictive game. I highly recommend it!

Excellent game. I'm enjoying this game so much. I like games with a challenge and CodyCross offers that from the start. Too many games make you wade through ridiculously simple "levels" before you get to anything worth playing. And there are a reasonable amount of ads ... unlike most of the online games. No silly interruptions urging the player to "buy coins". I'm also happy to see no emphasis on "pop" culture ... which ruins a lot of online games making them impossible for many people outside the USA. Only one small complaint. The request to rate a word at the end of each game as "fun" or "boring". This is far too silly for a good game like this. How about a "thumbs up or thumbs down" option. Makes more sense.

Some answers are wrong. Hello Fanatee, Your game is so fun and learning and convincing! But some upside downs First: On level 10 puzzle 1 it says that cucumber is a vegetable! Cucumber is a fruit because it has seeds. Second: So many children play this game and think is amazing but it can be too hard for them Third: it takes so hard to get to next levels and levels with 5 puzzles per level but the I love the challenge And fourth: I’m 10 and I like reviewing 😜 RSVP Also, Great work with this game! Volksy48. This is a great app. It is challenging at times, interesting and educational. I have a problem with the pricing structure. According to iTunes there are three prices for premium which sounds like the one I want but why three different prices, and what do they offer? Why is there no mention of a subscription here? In the app itself there is no price for the premium, it lists what you get then goes straight to a price for monthly subscription. I am not interested in subscriptions of any sort and would prefer to pay a once off purchase or a price for disabling ads. More info on iTunes or in the app is needed. If you were more upfront I would imagine you would have more customers

Very good game!. I love this game! It’s difficult but not too hard like other crosswords. It’s also Australian so lots of the clues are based around Australian stuff, compared to most other things being American. You can get lots of use out of the game without having to pay for a subscription. Great game!

I really liked this game.... At first. Then as I progressed, the ads started coming between every single game. And not only that, they’re really long ads (longer than normal game ads). And once these stupidly long ads finally finish, you have to wait for the download screen for the ad to timeout before getting back to the game. I’m now spending more time on ads than actually playing the game. Not happy.

Proofing needs work. I enjoy this app but have a few concerns. - as others have said, offering subscriptions for extra benefits is fine but some people only want an ad-free puzzle environment so this should be an option. - Spelling errors in clues & answers very frustrating. - Grammatical tense rules need to be observed. E.g. past tense clue - present or future tense answer. - Fact check please. Many inaccuracies or completely wrong clues. E.g. God Save the Queen has not been Australia’s national anthem since 1984 If these basic things were addressed, the app would present in a much more professional way.

Went from level 76 to 10. After below written six mo the ago and two months of emails it finally worked but was tricky and leader helped me work it out. Love the game. I did receive help and as in two time zones it made it difficult but we got there. Thank you. Still no changes even though two emails staff member guaranteed I was back at level 76. How very disappointing, all that work, all,that time.......for what! Because I linked to Facebook. Lesson learnt, no one wants to fix it, help me. Sent about six emails. Been disabled this game gave me great pleasure and helped me through pain, but blowed if I am going to start from level 10 again! Thanks for not helping

Good. I really like this game but one thing I would improve is the letters when you get one right. It kind of makes it easier to win even when you try to challenge yourself but overall, good game Edit: ok forget what I said I was just on a hard level and it helped a lot.

Cody cross. Thanks for the best game I have played I have played to level 760and can’t advance any further when will new puzzles be available to download so I can continue to play or can I update to get more puzzles I have deleted and reinstalled my game but can’t go above 760 PLEASE HELP

Good game except for.... Few spelling errors. Some very odd answers that just cannot be referenced so I suspect they’ve just made them up. Judging by the amount of questions about really obscure female writers and minor comedians the Australian version must be compiled by feminists. Other than that it’s one of the better, more challenging and entertaining games.

Addictive but dropping out. As of today I can't get to load on my iPhone5 I use on my phone when out and about and on iPad at home. iPad still working fine. Just shows loading screen and the completely drops out. Also frustrated at American spelling on Australian game selection.

Great but the new update has missed the mark. The addition of micro-transactions in the library has really spoiled the experience. The books of the library were a fun additive to the game where you could learn a cool new fact easily and without hassle, now with the sliming of the *actually* accessible books and the introduction of micro-transactions to get the full experience, it has really ruined the simple enjoyment of the library which had become the only real reason I played the game and why I suggested it to friends. The levels are where you should be struggling not the cute little ‘fun fact’ library. Please don’t spoil the last innocent part of the game with greedy money grabbing that makes the whole experience feel shallow and inauthentic.

Fun but infuriating. It’s a good game but has aspects that are frustrating. The biggest frustration is the obnoxious animations, they are way to long and need to be significantly reduced like when a word is solved. Another frustration is when you solve a word and the letters you get complete another word, this has problems which are; 1)disruptive to gameplay by taking over 2)is one of the long, obnoxious animations 3)doesn’t even take the player back to the last word they were trying to solve but the one after. To summarise, all the animation lengths need to be reduced significantly and to remove/reduce the amount of times the game takes over from the player.

No to subscription. My only issue with this game is that you have to subscribe to get rid of the ads which honestly are flipping annoying. Other than that it’s actually a really good game just plz make an option to pay like an amount to be rid of ads without subscription!

Very coin hungry, (if that makes sense). I’ve been playing this game on and off for quite a while, and have largely enjoyed it. However, I’ve noticed of late, that I only get so far, before it asks me to buy more tokens, which I can’t afford to keep doing. Sad, really, because it used to be really good, and addictive. Not sure if this can be fixed, but if it could, that would be awesome. Thanks.

Could be improved... Lots of inaccuracies and misspelling not to mention having to type answers several times to get accepted. Not a bad game but the ads are infuriating also. If you double checked answers to questions you also might do better and adjust the spelling for players from various countries as you do bother to ask questions s relevant to these players even if you do get the spelling and answers wrong. BTW the tallest mountain in the world is not in Hawaii but Ecuador. Chimborazo is the tallest and its summit tia the closest point on earth to the sun due to the equatorial bulge.

Great but the ads. Codycross is a great game but there way too many ads when you want to go out of one puzzle and into another. It gets really annoying especially as it’s the same ads , don’t know if Fanatee can fix this but if they can please do. If you like puzzles and crosswords this is a great game for you, but be prepared for the ads.😀😀😀😀🤪🤪🤪🤪

Pretty good game. This game is very good! It keeps my brain flowing and the cogs turning. However; a some of the clues are vague or completely bonkers. My biggest complaint is at the end of each level, you can vote on whether the clue is good or bad with a thumbs up or down. The way that you have to vote for them is incredibly infuriating. The thumbs up represents a “fun” question, and the thumbs down is a “boring” question. This means you can’t really tell the developers that the clue is too hard or easy or wrong, and you have to send a loooooonng report about a clue.

Amazingly fun game. In my opinion, this game has to be one of the greatest crossword games there is around! It is so fun and challenging, it keeps your brain sharp and you just learn so many fascinating facts and words along the way! I also really enjoy how every month there are new worlds to explore! However, when you get bonus tokens you have to watch a video. Instead of having to watch a video, one suggestion would be requiring to solve a quick Cody cross clue in under 20 seconds. If you solve it within that time frame, you can get your bonus tokens. I think that would be so much more fun and encapsulating! Thank you so much Fanatee for such an amazing game! Almost perfect. Really love this app, especially because it gives me Australian based questions! I hate downloading games that only have American questions. I wish we could pay a one off amount to remove ads, and choose to watch them when you want bonus tokens, that's what holds it back for me. I know there’s subscription options but I don’t even need the extra packs I just want ads gone. I refuse to purchase subscriptions on games!

Awesome game, I love it!!!. I love the game, play it all the time. I’m on world 286. And I love the option that allows country specific trivia to be sprinkled in from time to time. I’ve had no problem with updates. I have never bought tokens. There is over 600 tokens in my account as I don’t bother with the Premium pay-to-play section. I just use the free section. For the people who keep complaining about ads, here is a suggestion. Use a VPN service on your phone or tablet. It supresses/blocks all the ads like they never existed. So you can keep playing without been interrupted every 5 minutes breaking he flow of the gameplay.

Great game but ads are too hard to work with. I understand you guys need your revenue. But the ads that you run are both misleading and impossible to close. I should not have to close your app every time I finish a level due to being unable to close the ad that you run. I recommend you speak to your advertisers as players like myself are unable to close ads after they’ve run their course. Clicking the X in the corner doesn’t close the ads, it brings up the option to buy their products no matter where I click. Please fix this.

Frustrating but fun. If you touch type on your phone this game will frustrate you. It uses its own keyboard so you think you’re typing something but the letters are jin slightly different spots so you get the ‘incorrect’ animation. Speaking of, the animations are cute the first time. Less cute the hundredth time. They are slow and jarring it takes you out of the zone. Otherwise fun, and entertaining twist on a classic. Despite my issues with it I’ll keep playing until I get frustrated :)

Super fun but confusing. Overall this game is really fun and engaging as it’s improving your vocabulary as well as you are learning new words! But I do have a suggestion to make your game better, I am 12 years of age and I love games like this, but it can at times be really hard and confusing as I’m still learning, you could add something where you can chose what level you want to play at, like it could be level one: easy, age 25 less, level two: medium, age 26 - 50, and level three: hard, age 51 plus. Thank you for your time and I hope you can take this into consideration!

Since update today it seems good again!. The update today seems to have fixed the problems and the app is working fine again for me. A few days ago I got an email from the developers which I had not had a chance to reply to. What ever change has been implemented today please now leave it as it is thank you, and thank you for the swift action taken to deal with the issue.

Love It. I have been playing for years and love all the new levels that they are creating. My only gripe is the number of ads they are throwing in. I didn’t mind having to watch an ad to get more tokens or lives but now there is ad after every game. Too much time wasting especially when you are on a timer.

CodyCross annoyance. CodyCross is a great game but has a very annoying feature. If a mistake is made when entering letters it cannot be corrected by simply tapping on a wrong letter to change it. We have to restart entering the whole answer right from the first letter to make a single change. This can be very frustrating if the incorrect letter is at or near the end of the answer. It would be great if this could be changed so that just a single letter could be corrected without having to enter the whole word again.

Collect token button + down word. Love the game, However I do not have a “collect token” button on my game when I go into achievements, my husband does on his computer, mine is missing! Tried to find it but is lost😱 Also it would be a great feature to have a clue for the down word which could then start off all the words!

Disappointed. I absolutely loved the game, we started with my husband competing with each other. But for some reason every game took 2 points from me and only one from him. Also he got point to collect however. I never got extra points. Very disappointed that I cannot play it any more without purchasing points. We are both delaying it as no point to have it. It’s really a shame.

Ads not going away!. This is a fantastic game. Love love love it. BUT every now and again it offers a free token but it doesn’t happen. At the moment the ad for Clockwork is causing problems. Other than that zero problems and have no problems with other ads.

Annoying. My favourite game until a glitch has occurred. Try to get into it to play and it keeps going back to home screen on my iPad. Reinstalled the game, went from level 126 back to level 1. Got to level 4 and it’s doing exactly the same thing. Won’t load into the game, keeps jumping back to home screen. So annoying because I love this game but it’s becoming frustrating when I can’t play it!

Great game. Questions are well balanced between hard and easy. You are not constantly bombarded with ads and you can enjoy this game quite a lot without spending any money. Although some of the packs are worth it.

Issues with lengthy loading and cost. Great game content; but not worth the patience needed to put up with a few factors...too long delay in the “loading” screen every time, not usually experienced in this type of puzzle game...and the amount of ads is excessive and too costly to expect a subscription fee to remove these ads (especially in comparison to other similar puzzle games with a small once off purchase)

Ballroom. Love this game!!!!! But keeps crashing :( After more than 12 months I decided to reinstall your game only to find it STILL crashes!!! This is so annoying and makes it unplayable. Interesting to see so many others have the same issue. When are you going to fix it??? Not good enough!

New additions. Now why did you have to spoil a perfectly good concept yet again? First of all - you added the silly random question after each section and now you have decided that our rewards have to be in a treasure chest!! Please explain the need for this (to me) quite unnecessary step. The end result is the same but we have extra steps to ‘push’ I adore this game but suffer with RSI so I am not amused 😩

Really fun and relaxing. Really can’t fault this game. Not too easy, not too hard. Australian questions included. Not too many ads and the ones they have are short or you get out of them entirely. Not forcing any upgrades. Addictive and amusing. No bugs so far. Highly recommended for a pleasant brain workout.

Loved this game but …. I have played this game for many years. Absolutely loved it. Didn’t mind about the ads, even about that idiot king that keeps getting in trouble. But now it’s the type of ads. Because of the influx of the Sniper game ads I won’t play any more. Just my small little protest. I know you have to take money from whomseoever wishes to advertise, but I can’t support that. And, because I just wish to play the free version, the ad has to play through. Am I a bleeding heart? Yes I am. Will miss this game.

Cody cross. I had the same problem after a ad I am now locked out with just a blue screen with no idea how to get back to the game. A solution to this would help as I do not wish to delete the game and repurchased and start from the beginning again. Why is this happening?

Not good. I’ve been playing this game for about a year and now it says network error every single time I want to play but my wifi is fine we got a new one the other day because our other one didn’t work any more because it was from England I absolutely love this game but since the latest update it says network error and then it just kicks you out of the game Updates are supposed to help the game and Improve it not make it worse This is my favourite game of all time because I get to challenge my family and friends because they all love it too and also have and we all play 24/7 Even though the update ruined it before the update the app was amazing The questions weren’t too easy but not too hard it WAS amazing

Fun but repetitive. This is a really good game: fun, educational, and a way to pass time. I only have a few problems and suggestions: 1) as other reviews have said, the animations after completing a word are a bit long if you want to get to the next word or hurry through a level. A quick sparkle or glimmer of stars that doesn’t pause the gameplay would be less annoying. 2) I’ve noticed that the crosswords often have very similar questions and answers to previous levels. This wouldn’t be a problem if it was just a few but there seem to be an increasing amount of repeating questions. 3) The levels don’t seem to be progressing to more difficult puzzles. Most games start easy and make their way to hard, but this game seems to stay at a consistent level of difficulty. 4) I think if you had small prizes after completing a group of puzzles the game would be more rewarding than just waiting til you get a big chest. Obviously there are small prizes at the end of individual puzzles, but completing a set doesn’t seem to be specifically rewarding. 5) Maybe you could spend tokens or points etc on costumes for the characters, or win costumes in prize chests, which you can switch out and get special ones for different events such as Christmas. This is just a fun idea I had so people can work towards something in the game! Overall it’s a great game, thank you!

Good idea, bad execution. It’s a good idea but with the spelling of some words it makes me wonder which country’s spelling I should be using. Sometimes has incorrect facts. And some of the clues barely relate to the words. What age group is this game for? Some of the answers wouldn’t be known by young teenagers (13) and if they did know the answer a lot wouldn’t be able to spell it correctly. Answers should not be two words put together either (ROCKMUSIC should be ROCK MUSIC or not an answer) it also asks me if one question is boring but never lets me talk about the whole set or choose which question or let me explain my answer. Very disappointed

Good game, advertising not monitored. This is a fun game for all age groups and I have enjoyed playing it. There has been a recent change in advertising in this game. First now the advertising is targeting the user through knowledge of interests etc. which I can only assume can be acquire through access to personal data. 😳 Also the game is suitable for children yet a recent ad by the Animal Protection Society was violent and would definitely traumatise a child should they see it play during the game. Parents be aware that if this ad is considered ok for this game, others could be worse. I would like to give the game at least four stars because it is a very good game, but the targeted and violent advertising is quite dangerous for children or those adults just wanting a fun game.

Why is there no way to purchase an ad-free version?. Great game except there are endless ads, they’re all long (30 seconds) and there is no way to skip them. I think a lot of people would be prepared to pay for an ad-free version.

Incredible, I have never played such a great trivia game and can’t believe I’m in love with it how weird I would never have guessed I’d be playing a game like this if you’d have told me that a few weeks ago. Anonymous. Have been playing this game for a really long time and I really do love it. Have noticed over time the frequency of ads increasing. I understand ads are necessary and to keep the game free, but I think it would be better to even just have an ad after every second puzzle that is solved rather than after every single one. Just feels like there is a lot of ads.

Stop sound on your ads. Only download so I could complain about your advertising auto playing with the sound on. I’m pretty sure that’s illegal. I’m certain you’ve made me (and likely lots of others) really mad. You’ve been reported in Australia. Think about your customer and how it might affect them. (Like if they’re up in the middle of the night feeding a baby and playing a game - phone on silent, always - to keep awake while baby drifts off the sleep. Your ad comes on and wakes the baby. Hell hath no fury like a mother whose baby has just been woken up.) The sound adds no value. Not needed.

Great game but...... Love the game, but seriously way too many ads. I totally understand if you want extra tokens then you need to watch an ad. But being forced to watch more ads when switching between puzzles in the same group is just annoying! A lot of the ads are very repetitive as well.

Great game, but two token problems. Token sign disappears from screen before I can click and collect. Tokens do not load after certain ads. Only minor problems but annoying all the same - tokens are deducted from the total when I get stuck but are not added when they are awarded. Help.

Not good after update. Loaded latest update and now when I try to go into game it just takes me straight out again. Have been using this game for some time now on my iPad but now I have days it just won't open to allow me access to puzzles. Please help with this. Did latest update yesterday and still locked out of puzzles. Updates are supposed to improve things aren't they. Not this time they didn't.

CodyCross is Wonderful!. I have been playing CodyCross for probably a couple of years now and absolutely love this game! The themed screens are vibrant, the puzzle clues keep me on my toes and even the music is pleasant and happy. This is a well thought out word game which continues to develop and adds new levels monthly. A friend put me onto CodyCross and I have subsequently recommended it to others, particularly those who travel like I do and want to keep their brains active while on the road. Best crossword ever - but option to remove ads is not fair. This is the best cross word game I have had the pleasure of coming across. It’s so fun and challenging, and educational! The only issue is the adverts. There should be an option available where we can pay ONCE to remove adverts, rather than needing to subscribe and pay monthly $16 + To make the adverts even more annoying, the option to exit out of them are concealed and so small when trying to get out I always end up clicking the link which is frustrating. The option to pay a one time fee to remove ads definetely needs to be available.

Decent. This is a decent game. Add can be removed for a one time fee which is a nice feature. There are lots of challenges so you can play every day. The only things that I think need tweaking are the subscription prices which are crazy expensive for a crossword game and the library. The library is a neat feature but levelling up will take you years. Getting 10 coins for hitting level 20 on the library is not a very good incentive. You should be throwing parties and contacting the media due to the difficulty of achieving that milestone. Lol.

Wonderful. I absolutely love this. It challenges me every day. I believe I’m on my thousands or more game. And I learn from it.

Ads moved. I understand that ads are needed for revenue and that I can purchase no ads play. I choose not to and will or should I said would, at times, watch the ads. However, now that the ads are BEFORE the game, I have no desire to play. Developers, you do not need to reply with your standard canned answer. I get it. I just wanted to let you know why I will be leaving the game after playing it for years.

Unable to load after updating. After I updated yesterday, I have been unable to load CodyCross. It says internet issues, but my internet if working fine and other Apps are able to open. At this time because of this issue my rating is lower than it would normally be as I do like playing.

Ads Sell Your Data. I really want to like this app. It’s got Canadian content and I’ve been using it to teach my kids spelling. However, the app wants money per MONTH to keep the game add free. Today I discovered that apparently the adds themselves are somehow collecting my data to give me more targettes ads? That became the last straw. I’d much prefer buying this game once at a reasonable price without the constant side games and daily wordle take-off to have a game with a clear beginning and end than to have to be bombarded with ads to force microtransactions for the company to pay for people to develop content I don’t even use.

Love this game. I have been playing this game for several years now. I am up to 635 days in a row. I don’t want to loose my streak and even have a reminder set in my phone so I won’t forget. I learn a bit of new information from every puzzle. I absolutely love this game.

Fun game, but…. I love the game, but it seriously takes 4-5 times for it to open. It will load and then sit on the loading screen forever. I force close and try again, and it will only open either the 4th or 5th time of trying. Happens every night that I play!! Quite frustrating!!

Annoying. I have enjoyed this game , but lately it does not come in unless I play some other gameS before and then go back to Cody cross and try again. This is extremely frustrating. I have now removed this game.

Extremely slow to load. The application is painfully slow to load and most of the time i get stuck on the fanatee page.

Strange thing happening. After an ad, the sound kicks out. I delete the app, download it again, and the sound lasts until the first or second ad.

Changed the rules and anger people. I’ve been playing one a day minimum for almost three years and now we have to watch ads before we play? Middle finger to that, willing to delete game and not care unless you change back to ads after the game as before……

Disappointing. I absolutely loved this game for the fact that I didn't need wifi or data to play it (unlike many other games) so I can play it on the go. With the latest update I need wifi and data and that disappointed me.

Pay to Play App. You need to use credits to unlock puzzles prior to play. You get the first few levels free basically, afterwards you gotta buy credits or pay a subscription fee. Better word games out there for free.

Too many ads. Ads pop after every level, not worth playing

fun game, questions repeat. i love codycross! it’s a great boredom killer and works out my brain at the same time. levels are just hard enough for a little challenge but not impossible. however, i noticed a lot of the answers repeat with slightly different prompts, which is annoying. for example, ARCHERY/ARCHER is the answer for several similar prompts, as well as BOLLYWOOD, and others repeat themselves too. overall awesome game :)

I have a subscription, and was still getting a crazy amount of ads, to the point where I couldn’t even play the game. I am very happy to say that this issue has been COMPLETELY RESOLVED! I am pleasantly stunned, I must say. The response to my previous review was pretty much immediate, and was very professional and understanding, despite my harsh critique. The issue with the ads has vanished. I am now really enjoying the game, and it has become my favorite! This is what customer service is all about!

Finally one with only a few ads!. Great game, thought provoking but some questions are too easy. But still they give you immediate satisfaction by knowing the answer. I’m enjoying this app. It is one of a very few I haven’t deleted and probably won’t. One great feature is you can complete a set uninterrupted before an ad pops up. Just shows that it can be done. If you are into working the questions, you don’t get your train of thought cut off while you have to be bombarded with ads. Don’t know what can be done about this. Sponsorships?

Please restore annual subscription or create a paid advert tier. Please restore the annual option for subscriptions, or else create a paid tier that still has ads but costs less. As mentioned in my previous review, I love this game and have been playing since the very beginning. I had to save up for a long time to subscribe, and the same month I finally had the money that option went away. It is hard that the monthly price is about twice what the annual was, when the annual was already a lot. This game is clever and fun, and appropriate for a neuro-atypical child with a fascination for words and trivia. It is aesthetically beautiful game also, cute and fun and so clearly has had SO much work put into it. The game is amazing, the ads are age-appropriate, and it appeals to any age group. The ads are not intrusive; I want to subscribe to support you and to access the additional themed puzzles. That the subscription doesn’t have a more budget friendly tier is rough. Maybe you could restore the annual tier with still having ads? But access to the extra puzzles? Thank you for all your hard work in crafting this beautiful game. Awesome crossword game. This is no ordinary crossword game. It has great graphics, and it is easy to control. It is also very forgiving for crossword amateurs like me, as it does not penalize errors, and gives sufficient funds throughout to game so that you do not easily run out of hints. It is a great concept, that gives you to opportunity to get 5 out of 6 letters on a clue you get stuck on, as long as you can get the rest. Also, if you give them your real age. (Not birthday, just age) you will get questions people in your age group should know. Awesome game, plenty of content, must get. (FYI, There is an ad after every puzzle, ad haters)

I have a love hate relationship with this game. I love playing this game in the morning on my way to school. I have a 30 minute ride so it occupies me for that time. It also kinda wakes me up and gets me ready for school. There’s a few things I hate. The fact that you can one mute very few ads. Please make it so I can mute all ads. I don’t really mind watching ads because that’s how I found this games but when I listen to music it’s pretty load and the ad would hurt my ears or ruin my music. Also, I think that the players should get more than 2 clues per day because I use them kind of a lot so it would be nice to get some more. Other then those 2 things I really like this game.

CODY CROSS - AWESOME GAME. Love this game! Makes you think and use your brain. Wish they spelled Hanukkah correctly though. I got really tripped up on that one, because I’ve been Jewish for a long time, my whole life actually, and know how it’s supposed to be spelled which is: Chanukah. Love this game! Updated review This really is a great game. I’ve been playing it for about 1 & 1/2 - 2 yr’s. I had stopped playing for quite a while because I thought I would run out of worlds and levels to play, (perish the thought), so I took a break. I finished level 400 in “Popcorn Time” today and was THRILLED to see a lot more worlds and levels have been added. Although there are ads to earn coins,they don’t obnoxiously interrupt gameplay. The same cannot be said of other games. Cody Cross and its developers are definitely a class act, especially when compared with the unethical “swamp creatures” out there who call themselves game developers!!!! Cody Cross still gets 5 stars from me.

Good, but. I think this game is great.... I really do, I play it almost every day, but I wish there was not so many ads, I get stuck in them 24/7 and I have to restart my phone cause the little x is nowhere in sight. I also wish that the questions were a little easier, because some of the questions I have no idea and I need to use a hint for a token, speaking of tokens they are so hard to earn, you have to watch an add just for 1 little token! Don’t even bother! Before you know it, you run out. Now what do I do if I don’t know a question? I know that there is a daily reward, all of 2 tokens please take into consideration my suggestions

Ambiguity. Although I am enjoying the game, it seems to me that there are enough common words in our English language to enable one to play for months without them being repeated within two days. Some of the prompts are miswritten. Advertisements are ALWAYS annoying, especially when presented over and over. WHY do we have to sit through 2-3 ads between EACH portion of a single level??? Makes no sense especially considering the ads are not really advertising because they are rarely identified as to what the game is…. I could see a 15 second ad between levels, but come on! I looked at paying to play the game, but ARE YOU SERIOUS??? $65 per year?? That's insane!!!

Couple Changes Would Make it 5 Stars. I'd like to be able to click on a specific block and change that letter directly. Right now, I have to retype out the whole word and if I mistyped the last letter, it's annoying. Like if I accidentally hit "a" instead of "s" at the end, I should be able to just click back on it to fix it. I've tried hitting delete and clicking on the erroneous block, but they don't work... Cursor stays at the beginning of the word. Also, too much animation. Slows the game down. Would be great to be able to turn that off. It's flashy the first couple rounds, but now it's just boring.

Ads NOT for Tokens. I love this game, and I’ve paid and played for years. But, they recently changed something and it really ticks me off. Previously, if you watched an ad, you would get a number of tokens. Then, when you wanted a hint, you could use the tokens for your help. The type of help comes in a number of formats. Now, when you watch an ad, you just get the one of the formats. NO MORE TOKENS. This is utterly unacceptable. If you waste your time watching one of those stupid ads, you should be able to choose the type of help you want with your tokens. But no - you have to use what they give you. And amazingly enough, I have amassed the most formats that I don’t like to use. I hate this so much - yet I am addicted to the game. You would think they would treat their paying players little better.

Questions/Clues and Answers. On level 247, puzzle number 5, there is a question about a New York City borough bay. The answer for this clue is Spearmint. There is no Spearmint Bay. There are five boroughs and this is definitely not one of them. I would also like to add along with this, as I gave come up through the levels this is not the first question, clue or whatever name you want to give it that has been incorrect. If you are going to have a game of crossword or trivia clues, I feel the answers need to be correct also. I would like to add I really enjoy the game. It keeps me on my toes and it’s very hard for me to stop playing.

Too many commercials!!!!. My wife and I really like this game. But there are way to many and too long commercials! Solve a puzzle and you have to watch a 30 second commercial. Exit a level and again, 15-30 second commercial. We would gladly pay for a commercial free version, but could not find it. When I get a 30 second commercial (or a commercial with no timer), I turn the game off and don’t play again for several hours or even a couple days. Hope your advertisers see my post, because they are paying you for nothing. I got tired of the ads before and deleted the game. I was hoping they fixed this, but it looks like I will be deleting it again.

Please stop pop-up hints in puzzle games. I like the gameplay a lot. But one thing that makes me rage quit a puzzle game is when it starts bothering you to use hints. CodyCross didn’t used to do that, but now it does and it’s infuriating. I want to stop and think and solve, not dodge pop ups that appear OVER MY CURRENT WORD that try to offer me an express lane. Too many puzzle games do this lately and every time it makes me that puzzle developers want to condition me for instant gratification. I am not searching the App Store for puzzle games because I want flashing lights and quick high scores. I want to solve the thing on my own. Please stop popping up an offer to skip YOUR CORE GAMEPLAY MECHANIC, and I’ll play this again.

Newest Update. I have to say, this was my go to game and I loved the special events you could do, but after the new update with the symbols and not knowing if an answer is correct until after you’ve filled every answer in has made me really dislike it. I much preferred the old version where the events were similar to regular levels/puzzles; now it’s super confusing and it’s much, MUCH more difficult and frustrating. I would give it five stars otherwise. I’m really frustrated and disappointed with this update and I really, really am hoping they’ll change it back to the old, normal version for events.

Some ideas. It’s nice u want to teach new stuff but what’s the use if we don’t know what the message of each puzzle that comes out is¿...we don’t know the pronunciation or what it is or mean..a pic,explanation or pronunciation would be more educative..no use learning a word u can’t pronounce or don’t know explanation ....and it has wrong messages in it like '"thing that should be broken for the word promise¡" ..really ¿ it’s should be things that should be kept not broken..don’t teach wrong stuff or give people the wrong idea ..or in the puzzle there is don’t ask ‘questions'¡ why should the answer be a lie¿ mostly I think this game of a bunch of desperate celebs , politicians etc that want to show off their names/ brands & get more attention in this game...like ilmnti

Really fun and makes you think..... Four stars because I haven’t had the game long and still learning the ropes. Anyway, I downloaded this game a few days ago because an advertisement for it popped up on my VeryDice game and it seemed like it’d be a fun challenge....after playing I can say the game is fun to play, makes you use your brain, and really helps you escape for a little while. I am only planning on playing the free version because honestly the ads aren’t that big of a deal and $10 a month for a game is just not something I really want to do, I’d rather put that in to my savings for my daughter or something more tangible later....otherwise I’d totally recommend this if you want to test your brain and enjoy it.

Good but not the best... First i just don’t understand why they don’t give us anything back for finishing the puzzle just like a “PRIZE” it’s like like it doesn’t need to be a lot of like money or something valuable just if it was only a few coins like when i was reading some other reviews that people had. Love this game!. This game challenges me to no end! I’ve been playing the game for a couple of years now and it’s never boring! I can’t think of any problems with it. Well, I can say this that I’m not a young person, and I won’t share with friends because it looks like a kid’s game! In fact, I posted on Facebook how much I get out of the game for others to look into it too, but don’t be put off by the childish look. It’s really an adult game! I just found out the other day by a reviewer that you can change the challenge aspect of it to easy. I’m not going to do that, though! So for the younger generation they can use that level.

Problem. I love this app! I want to continue playing it, but I’ve run into a problem. I’m hoping the creators of this app will have an answer for my problem. I have been playing CodyCross for awhile now. I’ve gotten over two hundred coins and I payed through several worlds. A day ago, I downloaded the latest updates to my phone and since then, every time I try to open the app, it begins to open and then disappears again, without completely opening. The only thing I know to do is to delete it and then re-download it. But if I do that, my progress, my coins I’ve worked so hard for, everything will disappear and I’ll have to start at the beginning again. I DO NOT WANT to do that!! What can I do to avoid this? Lisa

Very Solid. I feel that this game has a much better balance than some other mobile games when it comes to making money vs. preserving the player experience. The ads aren’t to common and the game offers plenty of free ways to get tokens. In some ways it is sad that a game deserves five starts for not being completely pay to win, but it is still extremely nice. Beyond just the principle of micro transactions, the gameplay is enjoyable and lives up to my expectations. The openness to feedback and the option to turn on hard mode are both great. Overall, ignoring some very small things, it is what a mobile game should be.

Why so many ads all of a sudden?. I have played this game for years but this week before I can even play a game a person has to watch an ad. It was ok after we played a game and understandable since most games subject their players to them but BEFORE you can even play the first game?!?!! Come on. You can’t be that hungry for money. You’ve just lost a player. You have done the same with Luna Cross too. At least in that game we can play 1 game before an ad pops up. But even there after the one game you have to sit thru an ad. You’ve lost me there too. I can’t imagine that I’m the only player who is unhappy.

Really enjoyable (:. This game is pretty fun if you like puzzle games. I’m in love with the music and the sound effects, really make it enjoyable. I do think it’s a little more challenging for me but it helps me think a lot more to figure the puzzle out, if that makes sense. What I wish could happen is when I am trying to share to facebook, I would actually get the 15 coins that it says I can get when I share to facebook. Fun but full of subliminal propaganda. I really liked playing this game. The constant ads are a pain but oh well. However, the thing I have a problem with is the theme of debatable political topics. It's not in your face but certainly obvious to anyone that pays attention, and not good for young minds to be exposed to. You'll have clues or answers connected to terms/ people that can be controversial. Such as: globalization, UN, global warming, immigration, a well-known GMO pusher, fascism, on and on. I don't think we'd see as many of these types of themes if our political divide wasn't so strong, and thus the attempt of indoctrination at every corner. The worst by far was a clue that lead to the first or last name (can't remember) of Aleister Crowley. Yes, the one that's is the founder of a "satanic-like" church. Named the "wickedest man in the world". Ask yourself, why on earth would his name belong in a game that children may play? Think about that.

More tokens?. First of all, I think this is a really great game. It’s challenging in a good way, and there aren’t too many adds. However, I noticed that once you use up all of the tokens you get you either have to buy more, watch a video to get 1 at a time, or complete the achievements . I appreciate that it starts off the game by giving tokens, but I wish there was a more convenient way to get them back. I would suggest giving a certain amount of tokens to the player after they finish a puzzle, or after they finish a level. Not trying to sound greedy, but I think that would improve the game a bit. However, overall, I love the game, and would totally recommend it.

Good, but becomes stale. I’ll preface by saying I found this game to be very fun. So fun that I’ve gone through 625 puzzles. It’s an Interesting word game that’s normally not hard, and very forgiving. However every so often I find myself looking up answers. The questions can get very generic. For example, I just had one that was along the lines of “A dish made with ground beef and other ingredients”. As you can tell, it’s hard to narrow it down, so you absolutely have to answer other questions and hope you get a letter pop up. I’m also 125 “groups” in. There’s five puzzles per group, so after 625 puzzles you start to see duplicates from past puzzles. I just play it to pass the time now/

Incorrect answers to clues; no response from developers. I had a 230+ day playing streak in this game and deleted it… the reason being that there had been several puzzle clues that were either poorly written, the answer was misspelled (something easily checked on the internet, especially when it is a celebrity’s name), or an otherwise blatantly wrong answer. Reporting words does nothing, as an auto-reply is sent out following the report asking for additional info, despite it being asked for in the original report. The last straw for me was when the wrong part of the clue was left in, revealing the answer ultimately. They can’t keep up with their own content and seem to have no interest in correcting it when it’s pointed out. Don’t waste your time with this game, there are better crossword games out there.

Hints can be deceiving. I love playing this game!! Some hints however are either not correct for the word or is way to easy to confuse how it was meant. Example, Cooking, French style. This leads me to believe it is something to do with French cooking. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what it was. As I got more letters I realized it was cuisine. If you didn’t already know I will tell you that cuisine is a term for a type of food, such as Indian cuisine or Italian cuisine it is not strictly a French thing. This can make things very confusing. Also it would be helpful if you let us know if an answer is more than one word. If I don’t see a gap I assume my answer is one word. It gets confusing and a little aggravating.

I used to love codycross. I used to love this game and got several people playing it because they’d ask what it was. Im on level 91 of circus. Then they updated the other day and now its terrible. I’m made to watch an ad after every puzzle and I am not happy about it. Before the update you only had to watch an ad at the end of a level and you could choose to watch an ad for tokens in between if you wanted. Now the ads come after every puzzle even if i choose to continue. If i choose continue it doesn’t even give me the tokens for watching! And each ad is 30 seconds long that’s ridiculous. I’m still deciding if it’s enough to make me uninstall the game. The update came with no warning that this would happen, it said “bug fixes”. So dishonest! Sad that your greed has gotten in the way of what used to be a great game.

LOVE this game!. I’ve been playing this game for a while now—to the point where I’m nearly finishing the Roma section. I adore the new take on crossword puzzles, which helps me so much on the harder answers. I will admit that there are some answers that are almost impossible to answer, especially those that are only one worded clues. But, I move on to the next clues and little by little, I figure out the answer. Every time I get nervous and think there’s only one world left to do, an update comes around that has another. Thank you for this great game!

Ads need to be different!!!. Love this game! Very happy with the game, don’t like the ads. Bought some tokens so I could play without the ads but if you want to accumulate tokens while playing, you have to hit button. The problem is that the button always shows a video camera, So when you hit it, sometimes you just get the token, sometimes you get the ad. The button should not show the camera if you’ve actually earned it. The Humane Society ads show some painfully graphic footage of humans treating dogs like garbage. I know this goes on but I don’t want to see it when I’m trying to relax. It breaks my heart!

Disgusting Ad. I have played this game for a long time and reached Level 63 when all of a sudden an ad popped up for a game called “I am Bob.” The ad showed a man and woman who appeared to be naked in a hot tub with their tongues sticking out playing “tongue war” when another character appearing to be a caveman jumps in the hot tub between the 2 of them. The female characters boobs were almost entirely revealed. Cody Cross is rated for age 4+. Not only did I, at the age of 43, not appreciate having such a disgusting ad pop up but I would have been furious had my 8 yr old been playing when the ad appeared. I am so sick and tired of the stupid trashy, sexual in nature ads that infiltrate so many games and our children are being exposed to this trash. I am One and Done. It takes 1 filthy ad to pop up and the app gets immediately deleted. Ads should be monitored so that this filth doesn’t show up.

Mixed review. The clues were easy and the for the most part the difficulty levels were great. Unfortunately: - the keyboard was not the same scale as the built-in iOS keyboard which caused me to constantly make typos. - the animations were ok but took way too long. It was frustrating to complete a word and have to wait 4-5 seconds before moving on to the next word. It would have been nice to have an option to disable animations. - immediately upon loading the app my security software alerted me that it blocked malicious URL. I had no other web browsers or apps open so it had to have come from this game or one of the ads within it. I’m not willing to take that chance so I uninstalled and haven’t gotten any more security alerts since. I actually liked this game other than the above mentioned issues.

Favorite game, needs some modifications. Let me just start off by saying that this is one of my favorite games of the moment. I’m constantly playing. I think it’s fun and addictive and give just the right amount of hints without making it too challenging or too easy. I also really like that you have the option to get your tokens back after you use them almost every time. However, I HATE the keyboard. 99% of the time, I have to type my answer 3-4 times because I am so accustomed to my iPhone keyboard, and this keyboard is not the same layout, so I hit the wrong button CONSTANTLY. Also, the hints being located on the keyboard is a bit strange too. Also, something to note, this game definitely feels as though it was created by non American developers. There isn’t necessarily anything wrong with that, it just makes it a bit more challenging at times because I am unfamiliar with the terminology for some things. That being said, the game will acknowledge when a term is more “American” and will address that in the hint. Overall, GREAT game. Just PLEASE fix the keyboard.

Good game but...... Listen up developers: The rating is 4+. I’m 13. Why the frick are there inappropriate questions?!? The one I remember is on Pack 36 #2. The clue is “A garment worn by women”. It turned out to be lingerie. I had no idea what that was so I looked it up. This is disgusting and you should be ashamed. To develop a game with a 4 year old rating and put a nasty question. Other than that this is a good game but this really triggered me so it affected my rating a lot. Also stop with all the ads. I get a fricking ad for Toon Blast after every SINGLE level and I have to play it. Toon Blast is a dumb game from the ads. I’ve played it so many times through these ads you’d think I play Toon Blast. So yeah, the developers need to look over this and make ave friendly levels or think twice about inappropriate clues.

End of an era.... This game was one of my favorites for a long time. I reached level 472 and had 1089 tokens. The update from a few weeks ago caused the game to stop working. If you try to play any part of the game it immediately closes down. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, I do can make the game operable. The developer said they would help me restore my game to the current level and token amount but never replied after my initial contact. I guess it’s time to move on to something else. UPDATE: the Developers reached out to me and restored my game to where I was before it crashed. Probably the best customer service I’ve heard of for any game app. THANKS!!!

This Game Is Amazing!!. I absolutely love this game! It is great how it puts your smarts to the test! I rarely have to use hints to help me solve the puzzles, so I’ve racked up a few coins! I only have two suggestions though, I think every puzzle should have its own category. For example, if the puzzle’s category is technology, then all of the words in that puzzle would be a type of technology. There should also be vertical words on every column, not only the main word that shows up when the puzzle is complete! Thanks so much for taking the time to read my suggestions, and please consider my ideas.

Great Game! Except With Excessive Ads. This game is fun, albeit a few ignorant words that do not properly match due to incorrect culture knowledge. For example Nirvana being a state of mind for Buddhists and large blankets being Ponchos. However, the main problem with this game is the severely excessive ads. Every single time you exit a puzzle, you get an ad. Whether or not you’ve solved it or just keeping it for later, you will receive an ad. Most of them are skippable, but only after around 5-10 seconds. The advertisements themselves are fake as well. The advertisements for App Store games are false. They do not actually include real gameplay for these games at all. So not only do we get an excessive amount of ads, we also get fake ads.

No more ads. I love this app so much, it’s really fun and it gives you knowledge of stuff you might need to learn one day. The only “problem” I have with it is that every time I finish a puzzle, there’s an ad EVERY SINGLE TIME! And the worse part is that it’s the same as which makes it even more annoying. I don’t know if it is their fault or if it’s just the game, but ether way I don’t like that. I mean I don’t care if there’s a little bit of ads here and there, but I don’t want there to be an ad every single time. If they could reach out to me and and tell me what’s going on, then I will bring that star up to a 5 but for now it’s going to be a 4. Thank you!

Over the ads autolaunching App Store. I understand ads are how your company makes your money, but when I cannot close an ad, and it FORCES me to go to the App Store instead, I have a problem with that. I think ALL ADS that force themselves on you and auto launch your App Store without your permission should be permanently banned. Most of the time I play the game with others, and with guided access enabled (to prevent messages and things from popping up during the game) This keeps us from continuing the game until I exit guided access allow it to go to the App Store, then close out and return to the game. Please resolve this issue. An issue like this would be a BIG reason the game gets permanently deleted.

Use to love this game. This was one of my favorite games to play up until the last update. Now the ads you play can not be exited out of even if you watch the whole thing. It either freezes or makes you go to the page to download whatever game the ad is about. I have to completely close out of Cody Cross and reopen just to be able to continue to play. I understand ads that’s how I found your game in the first place but this is ridiculous and makes playing your game not fun anymore. Please bring back the ads that u can “X” out of instead of those ones with the arrows the try to force you into their games when I’m trying to enjoy yours

Ads with sound a big no no. I love this crossword game. I like that I can start and stop whenever I want, it’s challenging. But not so hard that I give up after 5 or 6 levels. I like that I don’t have to spend money to play. I would actually support the game with in-app purchases. And here are the why I won’t. What I don’t like fall into two annoyance categories First - advertising- I actually do not mind seeing the ads. BUT when those ads ignore my phone system sound settings such as when I have the volume switch set to vibrate, the ads just ignore it. Not cool if I am in a quiet car on a train or any quiet location and I put my phone on vibrate, an advertisement should not have the ability to over ride that system setting. Specifically Angry Birds ads do this as others but I can’t remember the others. Second- the keyboard is glitchy. I hit a b it puts an n. And so on for I o pair and r t pair. Etc. the second part is that you don’t give me a chance to fix it without typing all the letters in again. You have the on screen room. Make the keys a little bigger and give me a chance to correct the mistake without wiping out all the letters and doing starting from scratch on a mistake.

Loved it before update. The app crashed when I was on level 60. I had to uninstall and re-download when this occurred. When I re-downloaded, I was disappointed to find out that I now must pay two tokens for every level. This was not the case before the app crashed. I’m sad to say that I will likely stop playing this game due to the changes that have been made. To update my prior review- Overall, this is a great game. I emailed the developer regarding bugs and crashes that I experienced and they got right back to me. It’s refreshing that the developers of this game are actually willing to help-thank you!

Great game. I love the fact that by finding one answer you get some clues to other answers. By only needing to by tokens now and then, I will continue to play this game. I have already learned new things from it and remembered old things. I believe I am becoming addictive to this one because it challenges my knowledge of events and other things. In the Undersea World, it would be nice to see some pictures of some of the fish or places that were found. I don’t know what some, actually, many of them are so it would be nice to see what they look like. Please keep this game the way it is with a balance of easy and somewhat difficult puzzles.

Confused/ love the game. I would have giving a 5 star I love this game it has me thinking and keeping my mind sharp. It’s so much fun to play. My 2 big problems is 1 way to many ads. 2 now you can’t play until you agree of there terms which includes third party where any one can get you information I’m very very upset and I’m going to have to delete this game I’m not comfortable with just anyone having my info thank you for getting back to me about this situation and clearing it up thank you. With that being said I will be giving you 5 stars and will be continuing to play this game I did get a few people hooked on this game

Attempting to push subliminal political messages. The “Topic” for the levels in the beginning (may change later, but I’m on the tenth area and it hasn’t yet) is “Planet Earth”, however in the infinite possibilities that has, it has made references to multiple political topics. “Global Warming”, “Climate Change”, “Colonization”, “Human Migration”, “Central America” (the last two in close proximity, with “Immigrant” being an answer). At one point it had “Colony” as a word, with the definition being a group of people that are invaded by another, which is not the definition at all, but fits the pushed agenda of white people in America being “Colonizers” because of what the USA founders did to the Native Americans. I’d probably continue playing if this wasn’t so obvious, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one.

What is going on. Love Cody Cross, it’s my brain game, gets the noodle going in the morning, been playing since almost day 1, when I can play, either you’re packing too much into the game or you’re more worried about ads. Last few updates, I would have to keep force quitting the app just to be get past the loading screen to get the play button. (I’ve redownloaded the app, shut down and rebooted my phone, even have the app on another device, less content on that device, same results) Now it’s freezing during ads. At one point I gave it 5 stars but changing it 2, to get your attention on fixing the game please. Would like nothing more than to go back to 5 stars.

Great Game!. I really love this game, it's smart and well executed. Do I like the ads? Of course not, but I could buy a subscription and haven't so that's my choice. Some of the clues are questionably vague or strange but it's not going to stop me from playing. But a recent change sincerely has me stumped: the question at the end - was this clue/answer fun or boring? I'm not being snarky when I sincerely say I don't know what that means... Are they asking if the question was hard or easy? Do I want more clues like that? Am I enjoying the game or not? It's a simple question that shouldn't get under my skin but it drives me crazy! I'd like to help the developers but please rephrase the question so I know what you want.

Abhorrent Ads. Ads are always the bane of playing games but I tolerate them. Usually. The ads on your game are disgusting. It’s bad enough you keep showing the ones with female characters and children in danger which upsets my granddaughter who likes to play with me. And you can’t get rid of it. No matter what you click it goes right back to it. It won’t clear for at least 15 seconds. But today, your pathetic ads for some slots game is violent and inappropriate. Do you really have to fake an actual assault on real people to sell a game? And what does the screaming, attacking woman have to do with a slot game? I’ve been subjected to this 3 times already and I’ve only played a few games. You need to expect better from your clients selling ads.

Sick of the Keto Weight loss ad/fat shaming. I have played Codycross for a couple of years now and I really enjoy it! I have no problem with playing the game and I don’t mind watching the ads, but for months now I have not seen any ad but this keto ad that says that the Sharks fell in love with it. There’s a huge disclaimer out there that the Sharks did not fall in love with it They NEVER endorsed it. It also is violating the rule that there is supposed to be an icon to click on to give feedback on the ad. There is none! What is worse? It’s on every single game I play in the evening. Please get this off of your advertising. It is obviously a scam!

Great fun, with room for improvement.. I’ve immensely enjoyed the game, the difficulty is a very gradual, almost unnoticeable climb. I made it through the first 35 levels without any mandatory ads. However, when the ads started, they seem to have a tendency to glitch out the game. The last ad that popped up locked the game on a black screen that won’t go away unless you perform a hard reset of the entire phone. Very much so a hassle. Other than patching a few bugs, the only recommendation I could offer would be to add some of the extra categories to free players. I do understand that developers need to make a living, but this game is not endless for Free players.
