Experian® Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Why ?????. Yes it is a nice app but needs improvement needs to give more examples and walk you through how to improve your credit and why your credit has dropped or increased doesn’t seem to give enough explanation as to why and I don’t feel that the average consumer gets enough information beans the credit card companies the banks they make up all these different scales as to one record one credit card corporation might only ding you three points another one might ding you eight points it makes no logical sense it’s like going to the grocery store and knowing that 16 ounces equals a pound and then someone says well here’s a pound of flour but it’s only 10 ounces well here’s a pound of grapes but it’s only 15 ounces well here’s a pound of strawberries and that might be 8 ounces I mean it’s a crazy thingAnd then if you do something wrong with your credit they instantly ding your credit score but if you do something right well then it takes about 45 days for them to change it on average but it’s not gonna be instant I think it should be equal 45 days if you do something that helps you 45 days if you do something that hurts you

The worst. Signed up for free subscription. Tried to cancel within 10mins as the app said you can cancel anytime within the specified period of time. App won’t let me cancel the subscription. I went through the app and found the section to cancel membership/subscription but when you click that section it continually loads and never populates. I don’t have any connection issues and I’m connected to Wi-Fi and everything else in the app works perfectly fine and loads right away; but, mysteriously, when you try to cancel it won’t populate. Guess what else won’t populate within the app? Contacting support. That doesn’t populate either. Sure, they show you the link to click in the app but it takes you to a screen that never loads so you cannot contact them and you can’t cancel like they stated you can. This is a scam. This isn’t right. This is wrong. I had payed for them in the past on the web (not the app) and when I tried to cancel there I also ran into issues: they couldn’t verify my identity in order to cancel. I signed up for the app to get my credit score as my veteran friend advised me to do like he did but it wouldn’t show me my credit score (I have one btw and other places have showed me that in the past) but some how I can’t see my score through experian and they get you to signup but then block you from canceling. What a joke of a company. No one should use this product.

NAME OF ACCOUNT’S. I like when you can check your credit anytime and see what’s going on I froze my credit do you to Social Security card and other important documents got lost with all my information only thing would be really great as win you tell them that this account has increased and you might have the name of the bank well it would help more if you would give the name of the card or what the account is from Mike’s at Home Depot Home Depot alone from Hawaii when I said things go OK what Did I open because you don’t pay attention and then even though they have the name of the bank you have to go look at my cards or the bank statement for the statement from credit cards but it would be nice like Home Depot and you know the name or the billing from and then whether increase decrease crystal girl I fishy thank you very much

Doesn’t work, no help. I’ve never written an app review..ever but I felt the need to now. The app is completely useless for me since March 2021. My score has changed as indicated on my notifications and my account via desktop. The app doesn’t update my information. I get no notifications any longer, my score hasn’t been refreshed since March (it’s now almost September). A New update came out and it added a dashboard that now shows my correct score but my accounts aren’t updated and the reports show the wrong score so the app itself is messed up. If I log in via a web browser all the info is correct and the score is refreshed every 30 days. I’ve been using this app for years and now suddenly I’m having issues. I’ve reached out multiple times with nothing resolved, no answers and I haven’t heard a response from anyone regarding the issue. I don’t know what the developers did in March for my iPhone X but it rendered the Experian app 100% useless and that’s frustrating.

True and accurate reporting. I can appreciate the utilization of application, but honestly I can not understand why does a credit agency, such as yours, promote accurate and secure reporting when , in fact, you don’t. I have followed your rules and regulations as well as proper procedures in initiating several disputes , only to have and issues that have been legally resolved and proven to be no longer reported , to remain on my report for on going now for 17+ years and will remain on my report for another 3 years. How is that fair credit reporting? Not taking into account the insurmountable damage this has caused me to have. And please note there is nothing that can be done about this issue except to say “ oh well !” If I could, I would love to tell the media , in fact, anyone who would care to know what your company does to their customers, who never asked to be rated in the first place. Thank you for your time to express on my feedback . A especially thank you for nothing these past 17+years!!!

Keeps me up to date, almost. But ...... Let’s me know in latent real time what’s going on with my credit. But offers very little real help in combatting incorrect information or recently helping to dispute a late payment with my mortgage which my bank has already written a letter to and they ignored. If Experian were to be really on the consumer side they would over ride the false late reporting, supported by Chase Bank. I haven’t missed a payment on anything in 4 years. Stay away from Sunwest Mortgage; not consumer friendly, they do not do digital notifications or secure email unless it suits them. They also keep you on hold for hours, constantly transferring you, never really helping to see all data or see the big picture. Had they properly communicated a transaction that “hung”, I wouldn’t have to waste my time correcting a mistake which could have been easily resolved with modern communication. So when Experian can be objective, I would improve my rating; now they are just complacent in this issue.

Extortion and racism. Hmmm.... Let’s get this right? I join and give you money, or I choose credit cards that you recommend; from banks that pay you money. Then my credit score is boosted? Otherwise, I will pay higher interest rates and fees, including simple things that have nothing to do with my credit worthiness (ie auto insurance) over my lifetime. Sounds like extortion, usury, and probably a small amount of racism seeing whom credit scores have the most negative impact on, (BLM or do they Experian?). My score did improve and immediately “the boost” dropped back to what it started as soon as I quit the service. This all happened as my on time payments, debt to available credit, and credit history improved over a year. All the other credit agencies show it improved? I thought there was loyalty and communication among thieves? You guys are just a gear in the corrupt machine, but still part of the machine. Look at all your security breeches, inaccuracies, and consumers turning to Congress for your industry’s unwillingness to fix them. If this review doesn’t somehow disappear, stay away from this SCAM.

Was a Great app but it no longer works. The app is great, clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate. It has improved greatly since it began and as an app by itself it is very enjoyableAnd easily worth a five star rating. However my only drawback is the cost per month for all three credit bureau‘s. Most banks, checking accounts, and credit cards now offer you free limited credit profile views. I get quite a few options with the app but it is hardly worth paying a monthly subscription anymore. If it was 20 or $30 a year, I would consider it a value. But not the monthly fee that I’m paying now. I’ve only continued to use it because I was originally paying for a private service through my bank for the same and was automatically transferred/enrolled when they stopped the service. I’ve done it for years to watch my credit. Now I am heavily considering no longer subscribing since the two basic functions of current score and credit file protection notifications are free for me on three other apps/banks I now have. Update: the app no longer works and keeps crashing. I updated the app and it still keeps crashing.

Great app, until it started with fluff notifications. I’ve been using this app for around 8-10 years. It would send me useful notifications about my credit profile and potential issues as soon as they popped up. But over the past few years, they started sending fluff notifications about credit card offers and “great credit utilization”. These are not useful notifications. I tried to filter the less useful notifications, but there isn’t an option to do so. So if I want to be kept aware of any potential problems, I have to accept their garbage/fluff notifications as well. I’m sure they are getting some kind of financial compensation for pimping out credit cards, but if I pay for a service, I expect to not be the product they sell to others. This is classic double dipping. They shouldn’t be in the credit card offer market when we rely on them for credit report info and credit profile maintenance. Great app/service otherwise.

Credit reporting. Hello my name is Scott I am a current user of Experian. However the 6 months + I have been using the app so that everything I have as far as credit reports would be some what recorded and that I could at least have the bureaus looking at my file and seeing that I have paid off all my revolving credit lines with that being said Experian has not been reporting any of my payoffs and I’m not sure if it’s my credit line issuers or if it’s just somebody not actually doing their job or what but on Experian in my account it states that I have the same amount due of revolving credit and it shows that I haven’t paid it off which I have several times and the amount of my installment loan is wrong it says I owe 80 % of the amount and and I done paid the loan off almost over half way. All I’m saying is I have worked very hard for this . And I deserve for my file to be up to date like it should . Like why do we pay for the app. If you guys aren’t gonna do your job? Like report my hard work to the Bureaus like you’re supposed so people like me can have all there hard work recognized the way it should be.

Unavailable to do a credit boost I’ve never a credit card. Experian has my banking account information so I can pay for the service and every time I try to boost my credit score I am being told that my bank isn’t on the list of banks I’m with a railroad FCU and don’t understand why my bank isn’t on their list but they’re able to get a payment from my bank account for there service. All my utilities have always been paid on time no question. I will not let my kids go without heat/ AC, or a home. I’m completely disabled due to secondary progressive multiple sclerosis and I still have 2 children at home All I have is student loans and I’m working to have them completely wiped off but I’m unable to fill out the paperwork because my handwriting is completely unreadable because the Multiple Sclerosis affects my right side of my body and left side of my brain. I have lost my registered nursing degree because I’m completely disabled after having MS for 23 years. I have lost both my parents so I have no help anymore or support. I’m happily divorced from a narcissist who was emotionally and verbally abusive and wanting me to pay him for the 50/50 custody of which I have my children 90% of the time . I’m looking for a break please.

Locked. I tried to update one of my old cards through the bank that purchased the company cardholders info. I went through the company’s application process, passed that, then was told that I had to contact Experian to unfreeze my account. Went Experian’s question process, got all the questions answered correctly. I then called company back with the pin, to be told that the file was still frozen. The credit was not able to use the pin because that is not the way they do it. Had to go and do a temporary unfreeze, that worked, got denied the card from the bank, after answering all the questions correctly from Experian. I have very good credit. This was for a purchase I wanted to make before the price increased. All I needed to do was update my old card. I now had to leave my credit file unfrozen for a day. I was able through the App to lock my file back. There is no way to speak to anyone to get problems like this resolved. Extremely disappointed.

too sloppy to justify its demand for subscription. I will never consider paying for an app that will send push notifications for a credit score change and only display that change within a tab after a boring, long infographic of your credit score over time. You don’t need to see this, however, because the home screen will just keep displaying your old one for weeks (months? who knows how much longer it will be). I also get notifications to see what caused the change and when I open the app and try to open the message it takes me nowhere. I can’t conceive of a reason why I would fork over money to experience this annoying app with all 3 credit bureaus when it can’t even manage to display an accurate score from one of them on the main home screen of the app for heavens sake. At this point in time I am more satisfied with the FICO credit check offered by my credit card app (for free) that does nothing more than show my score. It does what this app apparently places below their subscription sales pitch: provide up to date information on the main homepage with no annoying frills and shoehorned animations. It is frustrating how little this app needs to be acceptable and yet it somehow fails to meet them. How can you send push notifications asking me “have you checked your credit score recently?” and dump me to a homepage with month old info, making me seek out my current score if I do actually wish to check it?

Overall good to have. I am a bit obsessive about keeping my credit score in good shape, so I appreciate having this service. I do recommend it overall, as it has helped me over the years to see if something suspect is going on and to know where my credit and debt stands. Yes, it’s a worthwhile tool I use weekly and I will continue to use this service. This is more for corporate.... the new app isn’t as great or user friendly as the old version. I was forced to sign up for the new version, when the old version stopped working. I was looking forward to some noticeable upgrades, only to find a big credit card sign up suggestion section taking up most of the page. It’s more annoying than helpful. I hope you guys make some improvements, as I see I’m not the only customer feeling this way.

Credit Score vs Aging Population. Credit Scores are a necessary evil but they are biased against the older population. My wife and I have $195K in retirement income, $2.5M in 401s, $2M in savings $1M in stocks, $2M in Tax-Free Bonds, and houses/property. So we don’t borrow money and pay off our debt at the end of the month. Historically, we had several organizational credit cards: Sears, JCP, Dillard, Shell, Belk, Lowe’s, etc but decades of bankruptcies and corporate failures have reduced these cards to only one card. Added to this is the financial organizations belief that older customers are a higher risk than younger customers and credit limits are reduced even if you have an excellent credit history. Recently, we were going to buy kitchen appliances and we were offered a discount if we used a company credit card. We applied and were granted a card with a $1K credit limit! The appliances were back ordered so I charged them on another credit card with a 12 month “No Interest” option. Our credit ultilization increased even though the appliances were back ordered and we did not have to pay for the purchase for 12 months. I do not need a car loan, a mortgage, or a personal loan but I get offers for these services daily. Perhaps, it would be better for companies that to target their advertising toward the population that needs these services.

Faulty, inaccurate information, and horrible dispute customer service. I paid for this service and it continuously posts inaccurate information on the three bureau credit report. Equifax and Transunion removed a bad collection, but Experian says it will remain on their report for six years. Plus Experian inaccurately reports same bad collection on their version of the equifax report. The reports on Experian are not updating, even after I wa told by agent to delete and reinstall the app. I personally spoke to Equifax and Transunion and both bureaus state Experian is reporting non-factual information - the Experian bureau system is not up to date and failing to maintain correct credit data (according to other customer complaints). When I attempted to dispute this matter and state the facts the agent would not try to assist by stating the bad collection will just stay on my report till 2026, plus she just hung up on me when I requesting for better assistance in resolving the issue. So, why am I paying for inaccurate three credit bureau report if Experian information is inconsistent with the actual other two bureaus. Well this an app I have to say needs to get the bugs washed out of the system - and get up to speed. Experian become consistent with the other two major bureaus! May have to discontinue service.

It doesn’t work!. Credit monitoring apps are click bait to make them MONEY. Boost doesn’t work! Seems cool at first. But then it can’t find your self reported accounts and drops the boost they created. I didn’t stop paying my bills! But all the accounts that boosted my score were eventually dropped because boost couldn’t find them. My electricity, phone, natural gas are all still connected!!! And other bills like insurance, storage and pay subscriptions are all just as real as those other bills but never recognized. The truth is that the credit reporting agencies are a joke. The fluctuations from one agency to the next is proof that it is a farce! Paying off debt should make a score increase, not decrease. I mean paying off my mortgage (on time) should not decrease a score, (85 points)! Even taking the steps to increase my credit score that were recommended by Experian (and Credit Karma) made my score decrease. When the card company reported a balance (even before a payment was due) one agency dropped my score by 85 points. Another dropped it by 10 points. Another dropped it 7 points, then raised it 49 points and then decided I really don’t have a Fico score! What a joke! They are all about getting you to apply for credit cards. That’s what they are all about. Not for me! I shall click no more.

App is buggy. Customer service is terrible.. Downloaded this app to help improve my credit score. I locked my credit then unlocked it to try to apply for another credit card. Got a notification that the CC company couldn’t run a credit report because my Experian report was locked. It was not locked, I made sure of that. Had to search around for the number to talk to an actual person because the number they provide only gives you automated options. Finally got in the queue to talk to someone, waited 15 minutes and explained to the lady (who was clearly not from the US) and explained the situation to her. She answers with “there’s no lock on your credit,” so had to explain the situation AGAIN to her, which she then proceeds to check if there are any locks on my credit (SERIOUSLY?). As I’m trying to explain AGAIN the situation, the call drops. I get no call back from anyone and waited in line again for 10 minutes (and I’m at work this whole time) and decide to just hang up. PLEASE get better customer service. I don’t care if you outsource but if they can’t understand what I’m trying to explain, there’s a huge disconnect and it only make your customers even more frustrated.

Great App. I absolutely love Experian app. I use to dread looking at my credit score because I didn’t understand it or how credit works. This app has made it so easy to understand and it’s very friendly to navigate and I feel safe and secure with it. I love the offers it gives and suggestions for boosting your scores or even checking the other scores from the other bureaus. I haven’t experienced any bugs or things needing repair in this app it truly is efficient. I love checking my credit score now and it has become part of my regular things to do. I’ve watched my credit score go from a 518 to now a 622 in 6-7 months and within this process I’ve use this app to watch my Credit score grow as I continue to repair and rebuild my credit. Way to go Experian I’m looking forward to my credit growing even farther with you.

Dont Like Platform. I agree with another comment on here from (NaeNae22) ... Experian DEFINITELY needs a UPDATE ... subscription or not my scores NEVER go up as correctly stated on other platforms & since most vendors look to experian for credit approval checks & they are CONSTANTLY keeping my score lower than the actual truth, i never can apply & successfully get approved for anything based on their score rating system ... Credit Karma is way better, more user friendly & easy to dispute errors, I literally have successfully disputed 2 fraudulents on my account DIRECTLY from credit karma app. Also my score is now in the early-mid 700's based on credit karma's score rating system, meanwhile experian only updates my credit to say it has decreased, they just updated me after MONTHS of waiting to tell me my score is in the late 500's but all else says otherwise ... how is that even possible when my score literally just went up by a significant amount of points on Credit Karma but stays ONLY going down on Experian. I think not.

Automatic auto pay. I cannot stand how every time you sign up with an account with an Experian representative or on the app it automatically signed you up to make a 2499 purchase and other I’ve seen five and $10 purchases without your consent or knowledge of consent and then they outsource your information to foreign countries, They use individuals who work from home from India Pakistan and other places that actually sell your information on the black market or the dark web. So while allowing their employees to sell your information they’re also billing you without your consent and not allowing you to utilize the free, free credit report app like you have stated in your contracts. I have fully reviewed your contract and then nowhere does it say you have to call in and cancel out the free subscription before the charges are automatic. Therefore they’ll steal your money let you look at your credit and then sell your information on the dark web by way of their employees that they hire outside of the country which causes the data breach in the first place. You guys need to fix your entire system

Moving forward. I’m really impressed on how easy it is to see all my credit history and how easily I can take control of my life by seeing my credit history. I can straighten out things that are incorrect on my credit report and also add whatever information to make it correct. To be able to see my credit report and see my credit score whenever I want is amazing. I have literally watched my credit scores go up right in front of my eyes. I have disputed things on my report and I was notified when they were finished with their investigation. I am aware of any and all changes that occur at all times. I get credit card offers that tells me of my chances of getting the offers. You also get credit help if you need it all in this app. I don’t like most apps but I love ❤️ this one.

Overpriced Scam. Imagine my surprise when, after years paying a $21 monthly fee for the “top tier” of this Experian service, I apply for a mortgage and learn that this app was reporting a FICO score that was 20 points higher than what the bank saw when they pulled my credit report. Experian plays to your vanity and ignorance to get you to pay for higher tier services you don’t need. I never needed “24/7 Access” to my credit report, but I had to dig through two or three layers of menus to learn of the $5 and free levels providing weekly or monthly access respectively. On top of all that, this app doesn’t update your credit report in real time. It’s been a month since I refinanced my mortgage and purchased a new automobile. Four weeks and neither transaction has shown up in the so called “real time credit reporting” boasted by this app. If you download this app, by all means stick with the free basic level of service. It’s the only level where you’ll get what you pay for.

40 points difference from the truth!. I got my credit checked today. I was thinking that all was good and all but when I found out that the Experian app was lying to me - I decided to write a report when the app ask me if I enjoyed the Experian app I hit the button that said no. The next prompt was would you like to give feedback, so I hit yes I started my speak with manners of course. I started my lecture the same I was thinking that my credit was good because that is what the app was portraying or reflecting -that I had a good rating. Well in fact it was 40 points lower! Bummer right! So I hade been believing a lie all this time! I almost got threw with that sentence and the app kicks me out and I have to sign in again!! So I sign in again and to see if it saved my heart breaking story. No it’s not there and there is not a button to give a survey that I can find! So I call for the help line and am greeted by a computer animation voice and choices (I want to speak to someone about my credit, is what I say) it gives me 5 options and then tells me to call back a a convenient time! I fell like Someone was reading my text and didn’t want me to finish telling the truth about this app telling sweet little lies! Be careful for they speak out both sides of their mouth! Liers

Excited AND Amazed. After learning of Experian Boost I did a ton of research and was both excited and ready to give it a try. I haven’t had the best track record as it pertains to managing my credit and ensuring I am in a good and healthy financial position but decided I wanted that to change. In the hour that I have been with the program I have boosted my score 78 points, utilized simulations available via the app to see decisions I CAN make to continually increase the health of my credit, learned the unhealthy decisions I have made which have affected me negatively, been matched with lenders to “thicken” my “thin” file, and enrolled in credit lock/monitoring. The research I did on this product betrayed the ACTUALITY of how great and much needed this product REALLY is! I, with the utmost sincerity, highly recommend EVERYONE, regardless of your credit health, to enroll in Experian Boost. You are doing yourself a great disservice in NOT researching and joking for yourself!!!

Paying to get data mined. This app does nothing but data mine it’s users with little to no benefit whatsoever. Each and every time the ‘Boost’ runs, it just turns up a “Well, it didn’t boost your score this time…….. but why don’t we just sell your data to a million different personal loan and credit card companies? How’s that sound, champ? Little bucko? Bestest bud?” And it’s all utter nonsense! Dispute anything? Oh, no we can’t possibly do it on the app! Why don’t you call every single customer service agent across 3 reporting bureaus? Let’s break this down into the most irreducible reality: it is a membership based, data mining tool. We are being asked to give them the privilege of assembling a ridiculously personalized advertisement AND pay for it at the same time. It’s like a reverse Ponzi scheme and it’s been made out to be completely legitimate. The reality couldn’t be further from the truth! This is a tool that creditors use to sell, track, and ostensibly engineer an environment where your entire financial profile itself becomes a product!

Very late on reporting credit info and won’t give score.. Creditwise, rocket mortgage, and other financial companies present my credit score, report, and credit history immediately upon demand and with ease. My credit score had been risen 3 times as reported everywhere else, and even my financial advisor can get my credit score easily when I ask. But for some reason, Experian won’t show my score and reports my credit usage very late, like a week after my actual score changes. Literally everywhere else updates me every 7 days. When I made my Experian account 3 years ago, it’s always and to this day has said “Score unavailable” why?? My credit score was 643, then 645, now 647 as stated on equifax, transunion, and creditwise (over course of a month) but Experian? Nope! “CREDIT UNAVAILABLE NOT ENOUGH ACCOUNT OR HISTORY BLAH BLAH. CAN’T BELIEVE I PAID MONEY TO SUBSCRIBE TO NO OUTCOME. EVERYONE ELSE GIVES MY ACCURATE SCORE AND HISTORY BUT YOU EXPERIAN. It’s crazy how rocket mortgage, a freaking HOME buying company can give my credit score and history faster and more accurate than Experian, an app designed just for that. Good day.

Experience the Best. A lot of the times your credit rating moves as slow as a snail. You try your best to be a good consumer and be consistent with your financial situation. Being a senior on a fixed income which dwindling faster than you can keep up with all involved. Experian has been fair and makes me feel that my efforts handling my finances makes me feel I still matter and at least doing fair when others of the triad rate me poor or less. I am not behind in any of my accounts and I have a car note that is more than 50% paid off on a fixed income on disability as well as paid off almost all my accounts except 3. Experian allows me to keep track of this mess and make sense of it and keeps me from throwing in the towel like a lot of folks have had to do in my situation. I have had to make slot of sacrifices to keep my credit profile where it is. Thanks for the help!!

Experian, facilitator of ID theft. Experian is the absolute WORST credit reporting agency and a _facilitator_ to fraud. Bunch of shills posting positive reviews, be aware. I’m a recent ID theft victim and I’m going through the aftermath of freezing and monitoring my credit. If the 3 companies, this is the only one that I cannot reach a human to resolve my registration issue. This app throws an error and advises you to call a number, which routes you to automated machines that tend to disconnect on you before you can speak to anyone. As others have faced, I’m still not able to register so that I can monitor my credit activities. Now back to the facilitator to fraud assertion, shortly after I noticed fraudulent accounts and credit applications were opened under my name, I ran credit report checks on all 3 reporting services. Of the 3, only Experian shows soft and hard queries were performed on my account, additionally the queries were performed by Experian or Experian-affiliated businesses. I truly believe there’s still backdoors in Experian’s network infrastructure that they have not patched since their last security breach. My advice is for you to find any and all ways to freeze/lock your experian reporting to prevent being an ID theft victim yourself.

A Very Useful App. Knowledge is potential power. One big problem I had in trying to become a better steward of my finances was to know my current credit score. Seeing that a good score provides ready access to securing any big purchases, I realized that I needed a reliable app to know, at least, where I stand credit-wise. The Experian app provides me this opportunity. It’s very useful. The app allows me to see all three credit scores. Moreover, it shows what financial activities are helping and hurting my credit score. Finally, the Experian app gives me alerts as to what is happening with my credit information in real time. This useful information helps me rethink my purchases and it’s potential impact on my credit rating. As a result of this knowledge, my credit score increased from the low 500’s to the mid 700’s in about three years. I recommend this app to anyone who is serious about obtaining a better credit score.

Does the job, Annoying Notifications. Ok so obviously the Experian app does everything you expect it to, and the UI is great. Freezing and unfreezing/thawing credit is easy. It’s a great app. BUT HOLY COW the notifications are annoying and even lie sometimes, just to get you to look at the app. “Sign in to see your new better credit score!” means nothing when my score hasn’t changed in two weeks, and “you get the rocket badge for signing in for three days in a row!” is just childish, like this isn’t a language app where having some kudos is a good motivator. If I have notifications on to get notified when a shady credit item comes up, what’s the point of me signing in every day and getting a badge? I dunno, it’s just way too many, to the point where I just ignore the Experian notifications now. If a shady credit item came up I wouldn’t even notice. So get the app, it’s good, but just shut off notifications and check once a week or something cuz I’m telling you, there are a LOT of them.

Little to no customer service. I was really enjoying this app! I recently purchased a new phone and I have been unable to log back in to the Experian app since. I have contacted the customer service number multiple times. It loops you to where you never get a live person. The automated messages continually tell me to log in for assistance, but I can’t log in! I even tried email prompts and changing my password. Not sure what else to do! I am still getting email alerts about “changes to my credit” but I can’t log in to see them. Such a bummer. Prior to this issue, I was a fan of the app and the conveniences it offered in keeping me on track with my credit monitoring. I felt secure knowing that if there was ever an issue, I’d be alerted right away. I have been pretty frustrated with my attempts to make contact with someone who can assist me in gaining access to my account again!

Score isn’t accurate?. At first I was very pleased to be using The app. Over time the score gradually increased and things were looking good. I waited to apply for certain things until I thought my score would help considerably. In my experience almost all major things I apply for pull from Experian so I thought it was a smart move. Once I applied for something I waited for a response. A couple weeks later I got a letter in the mail saying I was denied. The credit score on the paper I was sent said they did pull from Experian and the score they showed was 40-50 points BELOW what the app showed. I checked my history in the app and it never dropped that low during the time I used the app. I tried contacting support and my response back was regarding how the creditor may not use a FICO score or Experian. The paper did not say FICO anywhere but if that is the case it would be nice to have more than just a FICO score in the app so you could see the majority of the type of scores lenders and creditors would use.

Experian is the worst. Experian will lower my credit score for no reason. All my payments are made on time, credit usage will be low, not one thing will be done differently and yet they will lower my score.I will check my score with the other two majors and it will be up but yet experian sees fit to lower it. And they are always recommending that I get a new credit card from one of their partners. But their partners charge an annual fee and interest on all purchases. And their “boost” is a joke the other two majors have my score at a higher level without having a “boost”. They constantly tell me that another credit card may help my score but when I got another card they lowered my score. They more than likely lowered it because the card I got was not from one of their “partners “. One day after emailing them to point out their BS they dropped my score 6 points and deleted my boosted account. This is an update; one day after writing the above review, experian dropped my score by 14 points! Another update; the first time I was critical of experian they dropped my score by 6 points and deleted my boosted account. This occurred the day after sending them a criticizing email.

I’m 40 and just decided to finally decide to work in my credit.. I’m a 40 year old male and never really worried about credit. I guess cause of growing up with parents they were in the real-estate business and also the vp of my fathers trucking business at 18 I always paid for everything with cash or just wrote a check on the company. Well do to a one of our drivers of my dads trucking business having a horrible fatal accident in my fathers truck it caused a snow ball effect and my father not only lost hi trucking business with 4 6 axel dump trucks he also lost 7 apartment buildings my home and his and my moms. So to make a long story short I was homeless out of a job and lost. I never new much about credit and how it worked. Well over the past 4 months I been checking my credit and trying to build credit. This app has helped me tremendously along with the other 2 bureaus. I was shocked to find out the wrong info on my report also to find out that someone got cell phones cable and other items in my name. Filing a dispute is easy and being able to check my report everyday and getting the alerts is good. I got my very first credit card and my credit went from a 412 to a 617 since using this app and working with the bureaus I know it’s not that high but watching it climb gives me something to watch for. Thanks a lot for all the help. Great app

Horrible, I can’t even get in. So I downloaded this app thinking it was my first time using it, but according to them it’s not, so I had to get my login info, which wasn’t hard. But everytime I sign in, it tells me to complete my registration info, which I do, but then once I finish that, it takes me back to the screen for me to sign in again, and then I just complete the same process over and over again. Tried contacting the customer service number on the app, but of course you can’t get through to ANYONE and instead you have to listen to a audio recording telling you the exact same thing that already isn’t working. When I tried to change my password again on the customer service line, they were supposed to email me a link to do so, which I have yet to receive. I’m like 95% sure that I’ve never even used this service before (I don’t have ANY emails from them, not even from the past when I search through my old emails) so the fact that I’m even going through this is baffling and the horrible customer service isn’t helping at all. It’s like it’s letting me sign in, but it’s not at the same time and just has me going in circles. Just stupid.

Why so slow, and poor redesign choices.. I’ve been using the app for a while both on iPhone and on iPad. For some reason it takes nearly 30 seconds after opening the app for it to get to the logon page (or to do Face ID/Touch ID if you have it enabled), then another 30 seconds to actually load any data. You spend more time looking at animated swirls then actually using the app. FYI this is on an iPhone 13 Pro and an M1 iPad Pro, so not exactly older slow devices. As a matter of face upgrading from an XS to the 13 Pro made no change in the load speed so it is either a fixed load time, or an issue pulling data from their site. And a recent update changed the interface, which in theory looks nicer, but on iPad only works in portrait mode. Previously it worked in either portrait or landscape. So if you have your iPad in a keyboard case this app is now stuck sideways. Quite the downgrade. It unfortunate as the data in the app can be quite good, but it is just a better experience using the website. If you are going to make an actual app it should provide some value or user experience that makes it worthwhile to use it vs just the website.

The best Credit Monitoring App I’ve used!. Love The Experian app! I have been using the this app for about 4 months. What I love about the Experian app is that it shows accurate information using the FICO score 8 model which is what lenders use. Other monitoring apps use a Vantage score model which lenders do not use. For people that have negative reviews about this app is solely because they do not have a clear understanding of how credit reporting works and are uneducated in this, the 3 credit bureaus may have different scores because lenders don’t report to all 3 bureaus and are not required to so each bureaus make up a score based on information given to them by lenders or creditors. I did the Experian boost and immediately was able to check a refreshed credit card offers, I previously did not see any offers for credit cards that I wanted, but only saw offers for cards not really known or newer such as credit one and revvi and I was not interested in these cards. Using Experian boost I finally got a credit card recommendation for a discover card which is one I’ve been wanting for awhile! I immediately applied for a discover card and was approved!! Thank you Experian!

Contradictory advice. I paid for the premium. Following the advice of Experian I took their suggestions seriously as I am trying to repair my credit. Receiving the congratulations, “ your credit score has improved” usually like 2 or 3 points. It was self validation it was getting better. Then I received a notification that my score dropped over 30 points! 3 months and without warning I was back to a score I had 2 years ago. When I asked “what could have happened” the email response started with “we cannot advise on individual situations” yet everyday I received “individual suggestions”. The email continued to list all the reasons a credit score can plunge…… all of the suggestions I followed to improve my score. I called one time and the lady said “what is it your wanting me to do?” In a very harsh tone. My resolution: Since it isn’t individualized, regardless of my “personalized emails, the money spent on this app would be best spent on decreasing personal debt not enabling an app that cannot actually review my account to offer explanations.

Gets the Job Done as a Simple Non-Premium User. I downloaded the app wanting one simple job: to check my credit score and to know if any accounts have been fraudulently opened in my name. So far, it’s been a smooth experience. Yes, sometimes the scores will differ from other credit cards or companies, but it’s really dependent on the type of scoring model they use. A lot of car dealerships and mortgages like to use Fico 8, which Experian also uses. I’ve found they tend to be more conservative than my credit cards, which is a great problem, as it means Experian shows my “worst case” credit score which is oftentimes lower than what many companies have pulled from me. They also have a lot of useful information for people new to credit cards, and it’s been an incredibly valuable resource to me. The app’s 4.8/5 rating is well deserved

No value added. Connected my bank accounts. Every day thereafter I received several notifications a day that my accounts were disconnected. Troubleshooting only offered the “tip” that my bank credentials were incorrect. The bank I've had for years has incorrect credentials for me, and not the app I downloaded last week. Numerous alerts that’s repeated even after turning them off manually, which was a hassle by itself. No option for me to change to 4-digit of face unlocking with this version, no ability to update. I had to type in full logon information each time and with 25+ erroneous notifications per day I had to logon a lot. No product offerings or value added service whatsoever. It gave me my credit score and was the most work I’ve ever gone through to obtain in. All in all this was an utterly useless app. Update: Contacting me after the fact to offer “support” while offering no support when it was needed does nothing for anyone. Not changing my review, the service was simply garbage.

Credit score increase of 80 points. Since downloading the Experian app and being able to explore all of my account balances, installment accounts & balances, & collections on my credit report, I’ve paid all collections off and have been closely monitoring my report. Since I first downloaded the app, about 3 months ago now, by being very proactive and dumping a bunch of money into my accounts and erasing collections my score has shot up 80 points over the three months and continues to rise every time a new score update is available. This is all because now I am working towards having optimal credit so I can refinance my car and maybe even purchase a house. Having good credit definitely makes your life much easier, so if you care about your credit score, this will help you monitor it and put your money somewhere it should go so that it will be beneficial to you later. Thank you for reading.

Experian Boost. Although I like the Experian app, I am definitely disappointed in the boost part of it. I have been trying for weeks to get the boost part to work with every attempt telling me to speak with my bank. It then says it cannot find any qualified bills. What? I’ve been paying bills for quite some time now. After many phones calls and being put on hold only to be disconnected, I learn that bcuz my account is a business account it doesn’t work. I have No employees. I make money. It goes into my account and then disburse it accordingly. Pay bills. So I need to open another account and transfer money from the business account to the personal account. I’ve read everything I can find and I didn’t find this being said at all. Had I known this, I wouldn’t have been putting in so much time and effort into this boost. I’m still confused as to why it wouldn’t work being I am paying MY bills with MY name on the accounts. The business account is in my name as well. I can’t believe I’m the only person that has only a business account and not a separate personal account as well. In any event, how about leading with this information Experian? “Just link your bank account…UNLESS IT IS A BUSINESS ACCOUNT! WE CANNOT HELP.” Is this a good program? I have no idea. Apparently, don’t pay your bills out of your business account, they can’t help…

Awesome Credit App. Prior to using Experian’s credit app, I used Credit Wise from Capital One. In rebuilding my credit I wanted to monitor my credit accordingly and make the right moves to increase my score. Maybe, there is a glitch with CreditWise but my score always sucked no matter what I did. Paying on time, minimizing my utilization my score was horrible. I switched to Experian and my score was decent. Experian gave an accurate reflection of all my hard work and financial discipline. I love Experian Boost, which basically rewards you for things that you always pay such as rent and my celular bill. I also, like the credit card recommendations they send you as your Credit improves. With this feature I can know what cards I am more likely to be approved for. Finally they also make it super easy to check for any erroneous information on my report and have it disputed within 30 days. Experian is by far the best credit app on the market today.

Experian is nothing but a fraud!!!. Experience still has me down 109 points while Trans Union and Equifax has me at 109 points they seem to not be reporting the correct information when I try to dispute they tell me they cannot dispute. They Luer me into applying for credit cards they said I would be a perfect match for an order to have open trade lines to increase my credit score then upon getting denied because of experience low credit score which Trans Union and Equifax have me 109 points on my credit score, I was promised that those credit card applications would not be hard inquiries but again that was a lie and they continue to show them as hard inquiries on my Experian credit report which brought my credit score down five points which I am trying to dispute and they have a number it says you can dispute hard inquiries but upon calling they had me on hold for over 30 minutes while they were investigating it then transfer me to someone new who didn’t know anything about why I was on hold and told me that they cannot dispute hard inquiries I have to call the creditor which is a load of crap!!! Shame on you Experian!!!!!!

This App is terrible. I’ve used Experian app for almost a year and a half now and feb 8,2023 it starts having problems with the boost tool so I disconnect my bank and when I go to reconnect my bank with the boost tool my bank is no longer on the list of banks they work with. Now my credit score has dropped from 693 points to 666 points because my credit card was connected thru it and that’s not including the 8 points for disconnecting the boost elgible payments once it was disconnected they used a credit report that is from November and it has a high balance and has been paid off already but because they update my account every 3 days my score keeps dropping because of the old report I’ve contacted them and they said nothing they can do I just have to wait until next month to see if it will use my march credit card report. The issue I have with waiting is it keeps dropping my score every 3 days by 10-12 points so my credit score is gonna be severely damaged by the time my march report comes out and not to mention if it doesn’t use the march 2023 report it’s going to continue to drop. DO NOT USE EXPERIAN TOOLS OR ASSISTANCE IN BUILDING YOUR CREDIT THRU THE APP.

I didn’t think I’d ever say this?. Having been a stay-home mom for 16 years, I never considered how it might affect my personal credit. It was worth everything and I’ll never regret raising my children and never missing a game or school event! Now that they’re grown up, I hadn’t considered that NEARLY NO CREDIT was almost as bad as bad credit! I had trouble getting a single credit card, just for small purchases. Since I’ve been with Experian, I discovered an old neighbor was been using my name & information (still working on that). There were also things that I knew about, but should never have existed on a report of any kind- were reporting negatively on my credit score! Experian helped successfully REMOVE/ DELETE one and we’re still working one other. For the first time in a long time, I’m excited for what’s to come! Thank you, Experian for helping me navigate these issues. I would have just been stuck without their help! I would recommend ANYONE trying to build/ repair their credit to let Experian help! Thank you for helping me resolve these issues fairly!🙌

Take a note from credit karma. Experian is very subpar. My credit score that is displayed when I first open the app is never accurate; I even have alerts in the app that say my supposed current score(cause it’s always different from my other two scores) yet the score displayed is still old by over three months once. Also, this score fluctuates A LOT for no reason. Compared to my Transunion and equifax scores that I monitor on credit karma, that is always reflected accurately and quickly after any changes, this score drops all the time for no reason, and there is no reason stated and I haven’t done anything risky besides pay my bills, and there is no way to find out. Whereas, in credit karma it tells you exactly what changed, when something actually does change in my life like I’m reducing balances paying bills or applying for cards etc., and why it changed and it is very easy to find. Also boost so far is misleading. I added a phone bill and it boosted my score 6 points, then just as quickly dropped my score 6 points because I added a new credit account to my profile.

Experian is great, simple as that.. This app is awesome. It’s so easy to use my 4 year old could navigate around it. It gives you tips on how to boost your credit score that actually help, it allows you to link small easy to keep up with bills to your credit, it puts you in contact with lenders that will give you a credit card with good rates and it provides you with update info on your credit score regularly. Experian is the perfect app to use if you’re young and trying to build your credit up like me. I’ve been using the Experian app for about a year now, my credit was in the high 500’s when I started. After 1 year of using it I’m in the mid 700’s. I literally couldn’t even get a $500 payday loan a year ago, now I have a mortgage with an amazing rate. If you’re not using Experian to get ahead in your life you’re a flat out simp. Good luck chumps.

Terrible app. It says my bank account is no longer linked which it needs to be for proper credit reporting and to use the boost. So I click to delink it and I get a little circle that spins for 2 minutes and then I get a message saying there are no actions needed. So I go back to the homepage and it says my account needs to be relinked and again I click and two minutes if a circle spinning and then a message saying there are no actions needed. The experian boost that they brag about on the commercials does absolutely nothing. The dispute suspicious aspects in your report results in them “investigating” it and then telling you it’s accurate. I can send them a message saying I can provide documentation that the loan was paid off despite what their credit report says and they ignore it claiming the report is accurate and then update it later, without sending me a notification like they do for every other change to my credit score. If it was accurate why did they change it and why did they send me a notification like they do for everything even something as small as a $20 to my credit card. This is basically an app that sends you spam mail about you might be approved for this credit card and nothing else.

Not up to par. I received the emails and use the web to manage things, but thought downloading the app o would be easier and more efficient. Not so. I have never been able to use this app and have it effectively work. It tells me I have accounts to add to boost my score and when I press ‘manage accounts’ it always just tried to load. I’ve waited up to five minutes, even went back a page and tried again, closed and opened the app, deleted and re-downloaded the all... NADA. It worries me to think this company is managing my credit and has access to all of my info, but can’t design an app that works correctly? Frightening. Not to mention I just competed the app update and oh, still doesn’t work. 🙄

So far no good. The old app magically stopped working. Come to find out, it’s no longer available, and I have to create a new account, even though I’m still — and have been — paying $25/mo for my subscription. Now, when I go to the new app or the website, someone else’s credit card is on there, my name is incorrect, and my year of birth is incorrect. None of this happened until I switched to the new app and account tonight. My Credit Karma app is still all correct, so I’m not worried that I have been the victim of fraud. I’m just passed off that I’ve now got the unpleasant task of calling Experian customer service, explaining that THEY have screwed up and that I’m actually who I say I am, and that I don’t have $43,000 worth of credit, but more like $15,000. And that now until it’s fixed, I can’t go apply for the AMEX I was going to apply for before I created a new account with Experian who apparently effed up MY credit report. Way to go. And you can bet that I’ll be cancelling my subscription, as well.

Paywall for Credit Lock; Fail. Experian charging for credit lock effectively defeats the awesomeness of TransUnion and Equifax giving it for free, since you really have to manage all three bureaus if you’re going to manage any of them - especially for a credit lock, which, ironically, more or less alleviates the need for the benefit Experian would like you to feel like you’re paying for: credit monitoring. If I can lock all my credit reports, then by definition I have no need to monitor my credit reports for nefarious activity. The app performs really well, totally smooth... unfortunately it just lacks the only button that Equifax and TransUnion both fill most of their app home screens with - the lock. For $10 a month, you too can assure that Experian is the only company that can dupe you out of $120 a year. And just to be clear, while Experian responds with a statement about a credit ‘freeze’ still being free, educated consumers know that’s NOT the same as a credit ‘lock’. If you’d like to know the difference, google it.

Boost doesn’t work. So this app is great to monitor/dispute and see what is on your reports. However, the balances are never correct, the Boost option does NOT work. I have had the same bank account for 5 years...paid all my utility/phone/cable bills through it and the boost kept saying there was no bills that qualify. Huh? Comcast doesn’t qualify? My monthly cell phone payment doesn’t qualify? My electric company doesn’t qualify? Smh So I submitted all the payments I’ve made through the “feedback” section and nothing. No change and it still says nothing qualifies. Also my other bank account pops up to sync it....but says there’s a connection issue or that bank isn’t recognized. Submitted again through the feedback section...nothing. So mom and pop credit unions aren’t recognized. Only the larger-well known banks. Aside from that the app is great for what accounts are on your CR. Needs to be updated quite a bit considering you don’t exist without a credit score.

Boost - Failure to Launch. I downloaded/signed up in the summer of 2020. In January, Experian Boost found 2 utility bills with 2 months of payment history, and only need 1 more month to be included in boost. Here we are, 6 months later, I’ve contacted Experian directly and my boost still hasn’t occurred. I know the accounts are connected, because I do it every… single… day. I know my bank is reporting the data, because I made a specific deposit 4 weeks ago, and it’s coming up in the data. So, why not boost me? Why ignore my pleas for boost assistance (other than an inaccurate dismissal of assistance/acknowledgement of anything wrong but waiting for the time of 1 more month to pass)? What’s the answer now after an additional 6 months have passed? The algorithm is flawed, and broken. No care to fix it. Wonder how many people that have been boosted, are actually wrong? Because my boost is not happening at all. The data is there, but the benefit is not. Beginning to think Boost is a smoke-and-mirrors data mining trove…

Notifications are annoying, irrelevant, and wrong. The app itself works good, definitely helped me track my score, but the notifications are very frequent and repetitive. At this point its better to just turn them off altogether because im tired of seeing their boost ad pop up nearly every day, which apparently you can adjust to not receive other useful notifications but not their advertisements. I kept it on since it does have useful notifications such as credit score went up/down, new credit checks and other useful notifications, but even that turns out to be useless since it sometimes tells you one thing but the opposite happened. A notification popped up saying my score went up, which I was surprised since I got a new auto loan, but opening the app, it went down. It makes it feel like this app is a scam

It’s alright. There are some goods to this app. If you play the monthly fee; They’ll show you all of the registered sex offenders in your area, they will provide some information about your social and so forth and they're really help you with some dispute. On the bad side; not sure who’s more accurate between them and credit karma,. My score on credit karma right now is 697 and 693 but on experian,. The main score shows 653 but the highest they’ve shown is 666. I signed up for the $9 a month plan or $19. One of which, I’m suppose to get daily updates but it shows that I’ve used 30% of my credit card when in fact on a $2500 credit card i only owe $109 and that has been nearly a week now, so what every happens to the daily updates? I can totally understand if my highest score on credit karma being 697 and you guys show me 687 but from being shown 697 on the other side to 653 on your side is a huge gap.

Terrible customer service. I have used the app for 3 years because I had my personal information stolen. If i didn’t need this company for monitoring I wouldn’t recommend. App won’t update. Have tried repeatedly to update. Deleted app and tried to reinstall from App Store and it still will not work. Tried to contact company during business hours and it said all chat agents were assisting other customers. Tried to call multiple numbers and had to enter my social security number, wasn’t given option of using my membership number. Once I entered social given same menu on 3 different phone numbers. No email to reach out to. They will email you about alerts that have nothing to do with your account. I have received the alert multiple times that “a sex offender has moved into my neighborhood”. I check my account and I can’t find any information about it. Wouldn’t recommend this app. Please recommend better monitoring service.

Would give 0 stars if allowed😡🤬. I have just recently started using this app. Highly disappointed and would not recommend this app to anyone!! My issue with them is for the fact my bank is supported by this app and I used the boost. The boost found 2 bills and had it documented but I notice it was an error because I have 10 bills in all for my phone. When I reported the issue to Experian, they basically lied and telling me garbage: Saying my bank isn't supported by them and that I need to have qualifying bills. For one: My bills qualify because if they didn't, 2 of the 10 wouldn't had popped up listed! For two: My bank is supported by this because if it wasn't a message would've popped up saying it is not supported!! After I reported the issue of my missing bills, they removed the 2 bills that was found! How are y'all trying to help someone build credit if y'all app not finding all bills and deciding to delete the ones found off when members start reporting missing bills?!

Experian Apps and Monitoring. As an Experian Credit Monitoring Customer for over 10 years, I’ve used both apps. I kinda liked the other one better but this one is great too! It is loaded with helpful info. Also, went to the bank to change my name after getting married And wound up stuck sitting at the bank for awhile because BOA is always short staffed. In any event, while I was sitting there waiting, my Experian app pushed out a notification that a change was being made to my BOA checking and savings accounts. Another time, when trading my car in and sitting at the dealership waiting for paperwork, I received an alert that my credit was being run by the finance company. I’ve never felt more secure with my information security. I will probably never leave Experian. ❤️

So far so good. I’ve been using Credit Karma for years and it’s been extremely helpful, especially with rebuilding my credit after a divorce. I added the Experian app about a month ago and it’s been insightful. I toggle back and forth and compare the differences (yes! Pretty big differences!) and correct what needs correcting. Ultimately I prefer what Credit Karma says about my scores because they aren’t quite as harsh (we’re already our own worst critics, right?!), but Experian seems a little more realistic. **side note: I took the advice of other users leaving reviews in the App Store and did not opt in to the ‘boost’ on Experian. Not sure if that was helpful or harmful, guess time and timely payments will tell!!

FANTASTIC!. I don’t understand the one star ratings people have here. This past year I started working on my credit and Experian has been absolutely wonderful with that! It has helped me so much and I even pay for the monthly premium membership . I utilize all the tools and tips that Experian provides . I’ve learned so much and my credit scores have gone up DRASTICALLY! If you use the tools and tips they provide you can really improve your scores and learn things . I use this along with two other credit monitoring apps . I’m combination they have all helped me a ton ! And Experian is the only things that has the boost! That boost is so awesome ! I tell people about Experian all the time when they ask me how I’ve been raising my score ! Keep up the good work guys !

Hi. I put my info on this app including banking info and credit credit info cause they are supposed to alert me of fraudulent charges on them so I was like I’m just going to see so I deleted all banking info and credit credits except one and I don’t use that credit card ever it wasn’t couple months later I had suspicious activity pop up on my credit card luckily my credit card shut it down they got nothing but don’t put your personal info on there or it will be stolen and they never alerted me of it either of course why would they do I called there fraud department who transferred my back to membership who transferred me back to fraud department who in turn was supposed to call me back guess ya never received a phone call

Slow updates. Very disappointed on the time it takes to update the credit score after you pay off accounts or pay them down. Takes way to long. You get the update, notify the account and weeks later score still doesn’t reflect. Once you have the information why isn’t it reflected. Also, Finance Companies have been very short handed. I had a situation where it was absolutely Infinity Financials system inadequacy and it flagged my account. I refuted it in your system and you reached out to Infinity and they tell you I was late when I had auto pay set up. They know they have this issue in their system and you do nothing.... I tried to go back into the Experian system and it won’t allow me to register the complaint again.. absolutely not right...

Promotional Spam. I have used the app for the last 5 years or more. I really enjoyed the app and specific features like being able to lock my credit, see my score reports, and monitor my progress. Now, at this point, I would NiT recommend it to others, and I’m starting to wonder why I use this app anymore. It’s quite obvious that insurance companies are buying their way into spam built-in to this app. I keep getting alerted to “verify your car” but these misleading forms lead to insurance quote forms that I never wanted! Now I’m getting personal texts and emails prompting me to finish “verifying your vehicle” but it is just a scam to steer users to insurance quotes! I do not need constant credit card offers and insurance quotes plastered across my Experian app. Please 🙏 go back to basics and allow paying members like me to cut out the garbage in the app that is fueled by Experian’s promotional ads and sales for third parties!

Protecting your credit is protecting your future. I totally enjoy having my credit monitor safely, so far my FICO is being protected and monitored. I enjoy the education on how to advance my credit, I also enjoy all the fact of improving. Although I never dream closing an account would harm your FICO score. Think twice about closing credit cards, if you do talk to Experian first, therefore your credit score will be protected. I recent received a late payment notice from Premier credit card after opening the card I reviewed a phone call, saying I had late payment, i notified Experian therefor my credit score was not reflected. Also medical bills can be duplicated and hurt your credit. Monitor your credit is epic in every way. Value your credit as it is your future.

Good could be better. I like some of the initial interface. The score right away. It is the best for the money in my opinion. But For the money, it should have current, not old, transunion and equifax scores. Also, it’s very difficult to get full score info, i.e. current report info to see what exactly is going on, lender by mender. This should include which balances are changing. Also, there should be a way to contact experian real time to have interaction about issues. Also know how often updates will happen. In this time of global financial stress, the credit agencies should be a bit more lax about lowering people’s scores for balance increases. Of course our balances are going up. Even I, as an essential (food) business owner, am intelligently availing myself and the business of deferral opportunities, which are essential to our survival in this environment. But on the whole this is a better app than credit karma, transunion, or equifax.

Identity stolen. I am a 33 year old woman who had her credit identity stolen 2 years ago. I never thought in my wildest dreams that it would happen to me. I had of course heard of it happening, but always thought no one would want my credit. Thanks to getting Experian I can lock my credit and unlock if I need to. If another Bureau pulls my credit Experian lets me know almost immediately. I can honestly say I don’t know what I would’ve done within these 2 years without you alls help. Yes, scammers still try every year to get cards in my name, but I am able to stop them because of Experian relating the information to me. Yes, there is a fee and I have to tell you at first I was skeptical about paying it, but honestly it’s worth every penny that they have saved me!

App Suggestion. I do like the app but the only thing that I struggle with is when I get alerts that my score changed it doesn’t show why, it just shows by how many points. It doesn’t show which one of my accounts is the cause of the change and why. It would be helpful if I was shown why a score change occurred for example: Your score increased because you’ve paid down your car loan or credit card, or your score decreased because your credit card usage increased. Other credit monitoring apps do this, why can’t Experian offer the same feedback? That is helpful information for consumer credit monitoring and educational purposes. Please consider this I’m the next software update. Other than that I do like the app. Thank you

Getting my credit score back on track!. After many years of struggling to get to having a credit score of “Good”, it has finally happened, thanks to Experian and understanding every piece of what it takes to understanding credit scores! I’m 44, and struggled with credit since the age of 18, and after years of recovering from financial issues, coming out of bankruptcy and foreclosures, having the Experian app to dispute issues that were resolved and showing me ways to increase my credit score have been tremendously helpful! It feels good to be in control knowing that I can have a good credit score and reep the rewards that come with that in life! I was able to buy my daughter her 1st car! Knowing that I can help show her the importance of good credit scores in life made me so proud to finally be in this place in life!

Partner w/ Chime. Partnered with Chime, I was able to fix and then improve my credit rapidly. I do pay for the service, and if you can afford, it is well worth it. If this is all you use it for, this app is incredible. Unfortunately, they will offer you credit cards that you will be turned down for and I don’t know what’s going on with the insurance, but I have a fairly clean driving record and, like I said, I’ve improved my credit greatly. Through Progressive I paid 130 a month for full coverage on the car I was able to finance. But Experian turned me down completely. Both the CC app and insurance added inquiries to my credit, which did not help me. Overall, it’s a great app, just stay away from the market tab and the offers!

Review on this app. I hate that I can’t stop in ratings my low score. If I pay off an account it goes up 1 pt. But if an account closes because the company is no more my credit goes down 15 pts. You don’t update enough for me in a positive way towards me score. I should be at 800 or more as my score. You inserted missed payment when I’ve not missed a payment for any account and you put my score down. You send out information for me to consider your credit card to lower my balances. Yet, my credit score is low because I have to many accounts. This is silly and I hate it. You want me to get in more debit as you lower my score for having too many accounts. Bare in mind all of this is happen during this great pandemic. This response is for the credit rating score for the credit department of Experian and the others.

False information. This app is useless. This is Experian’s own app supposedly giving you up to date Experian Fico 8 score. I got it because that’s the score they use when I apply for a car loan. I know it’s up to date because when I DID apply for the loan, my score went down a few points. However, when I received the paperwork telling me the score they pulled, it said it was 31 points lower than what this app told me. I expect this sort of thing when using third party apps that aren’t up to date scores or using their own scoring system. However, the Experian score in the app should match the Experian score in real life. It doesn’t; as far as I’m concerned, that’s fraud. I will be looking into possible legal action against the company for the fraud it is committing. For your own sake, do not bother downloading this app. UPDATE: In response to the response I received: your app says Fico score 8. The car dealer’s paper says Fico score 8. Nice try with your lies though. Perhaps it’s time to look into legal options for false advertising.

Canceled my account with them ! Warning Read this. I used to paid five dollars a month because Experian bought the company that used to monitor my credit with ... all of a sudden they started charging me 25 dollars out of the blue ... Me being a procrastinator ended up not doing anything about it . For a while I was ok with this but up until now enough is enough ! This blood sucking leeches sent me an e-mail saying that my credit score had dropped 25 points out of nowhere , not only I haven’t done nothing incorrectly to affect my score like this on the contrary I was just over 800 when this all happend so I decided to download the app get my user and password and suuuuurprise ! It says “ In-app purchases in it “ They are selling a score booster and when do you wanna boost your score ? Right ! , so it turns out that the app is telling me I took a hit and when I check my bank my bank still shows above 800 . I haven’t canceled my account yet but first thing tomorrow . Pho-king scum bags !

Gave me the tool I needed to get my credit up. I didn’t know how bad my credit was until I saw it. That said I was able to co test some items on it, and then utilize my credit in ways that made my score rise. After about a year, maybe a bit longer I have gained 54 points by simply being aware. I’m now in the upper end of good credit. For several months it was like a game to me, I kept close eyes on my data and used 30% of my cards, I paid them down to 30% quickly when I used more credit. This is a free app with options to purchase all three reporting agencies. But I don’t need that level of exposure. This did exactly what I needed, and didn’t cost a dime. It is nice to know I could upgrade if I wanted to, altho the price is a bit steep imo.

Dispute Issues / Transfer of data through automated call. I joined Experian today and noticed an unapproved hard inquiry. The app would not let me dispute and relayed me to the online account, the online account would not allow me to dispute and said I needed to call. There is not a dispute option on the automated call options so I choose the fraud option. I’m on hold now and will update accordingly. The app navigation could be better but the pertinent information is there. UPDATE: still on hold, 15 minutes... someone picked up and said they would transfer me to the fraud dept. although that was the choice I made at the beginning of the automated call. Also, i entered my SS# at the beginning of the automated call and was still asked to give it aloud which is not very secure in an office environment. The fraud personnel were very concise and thorough during the call though and quickly resolved the issue and provided me with all information I requested.

I love this App and Experian. I read some of the negative comments but I say if you are having fraud issues you should purchase LifeLock as well. I have both, I love them both I monitor my credit on one and monitor for fraud on the other and it doesn’t cost that much. I am a real person and I have experienced fraud before so it is well worth it to get alerts every time my credit is ran so I can catch it right from the beginning and LifeLock has $1,000,000 insurance that protects you if anyone does something in your name if they didn’t catch it in time. But on this app I love this new feature credit booster, it boosts your credit just for paying bills that you always pay all the time. I always wanted to get a credit boost for things I already pay all the time monthly.

Fix issue with updating. I really like the Experian app but it seems to never update the info I input when it asks me too. I’ve link an updated credit card to my Experian account and it still shows as my old card and continues to say it needs to be reconnected. It never updates the info I input so I keep getting a notification saying to reconnect or edit my card info. Also my bank info keeps saying that it needs to be reconnected, I go through the motions of reconnecting my account and it says it’s connected but going back to the main page of the Experian app it says to reconnect it again and that it can’t give me a boost until it’s reconnected and have at least a few month of history to get a boost. Not sure what’s going on, the app is up to date and this is an on going issue. Please fix these bugs

No need for membership. I have 4 credit monitors, I already assume the average because none are down to the direct number. Experian is my least favorite. I even paid for a membership, tried for three months and it is always the last or second last to update. Membership claims to allow you to refresh daily, they also claims that there system is update daily .. not exactly! They let you, — more so, THEY(Experian ) update once every 90days. And if you want an update after they refresh that one time, you have to pay an additional $26 each time you want to get an update on your credit. I assumed refresh daily meant I can refresh/ get an update daily. But apparently it means you can refresh daily for a fee of $26 anytime you like. Even after the $20+ a month membership. I’d keep the app just for a average number but there is actually no need for the membership.. and if they take away the free monitoring, as I said before I have 3 more “free” monitors that update weeks/months before Experian.

Don’t use. This app is pretty much only good for Experian boost which is free and checking your credit report which is also free purchasing the apps service is useless unless your being attacked by a scammer or a harasser locking your credit report makes getting credit impossible and even if you unlock it I have been still getting denied due to the freeze I have pictures of creditors denying me online because of it and my app says my report is unlocked but I’m still getting denied from creditors for this reason Experian has not helped mr with this situation even tho I called them and emailed them about it. Worse experience ever I don’t know what to do I’m trying to build my credit and now it’s impossible

Experian continues to have incorrect ID info. I had to fight incorrect information about my account about two years ago. Today I accessed my account and found the same faulty information on my account at Experian. The name and address they had identifying me was for a person with the same name in Denham Springs, Louisiana. This person had several accounts in collection for purchases made at WalMart on an Affirm account. I got the impression that Experian did nothing but accept the information from Affirm to deny my claim that the purchases were not mine. After months of fighting, including getting law enforcement involved, I thought that the issue had been resolved. Today I found that there is still a faulty link at Experian connecting me to this individual in Louisiana. I would have given ZERO stars if it were not for my ability to access the information.

Amazing! App love love love it!. When I was 16 someone stole my Identity. Experian was the only company (not credit karma etc) that showed me exactly what I had on my credit report and was able to separate the other person. I’ve been looking to experian since! With the app I always lock my information which deff works because I went to run my credit and finance a new bedset and the store tried twice running my background and couldn’t. Until I was like “oh wait!”; I unlocked it waited a few minutes and it worked. Awesome app and will continue to use this. Very on point and updated continuously with recent activity on credit report. And the tips given to help in different ways to help and what you did that would could make it worse. To me, $10 and change a month is worth a peace of mind.

Greatest App ever. This is one of the best apps that I use on a monthly basis to monitor my credit. I wish it would provide the next update date that you see when you’re online. However I love the fact that it has all three credit bureau‘s. The only flaw is the other two Credit bureaus (TransUnion and Equifax), does not show the most current information. It is still showing a credit score from one year ago. Other than that, I will continue to use the Experian app as it grants the user direct access to their credit profile (including Fico score for free) which eliminates any fraudulent activity because you receive a notification each time someone pulls your credit or any changes to your credit profile (whether authorized or not).

Thanks Experian!. For a long time, I have been trying to improve my credit score and thanks to Experian I have been able to achieve my goal. When I started working on improving my credit score I spoke to a representative from Experian and they helped me negotiate with the lenders on how to pay my debts. Secondly, the representative advised me to use less than 20% of my credit limit. Third, thanks to Experian application I am able to monitor my credit daily, having said this, I was conscious of my spending and responsibility to pay my bills on time. Fourth, I learned to review my credit weekly, which helped me to be discipline and successful on monitoring my spending, debts, how to dispute items that have aged and needed to be removed from my credit. I continue to work on my credit because my final goal is for it to be 850.

Need to lose their status as a credit bureau. I had no idea just how worthless a credit bureau was until I interacted with Experian. I moved to a new apartment complex, and ended up having to contact HUD to complain of discrimination, which HUD investigated and the company was found guilty of discrimination. In retaliation for the complaint, the company put a fictitious bill on my Experian credit report, which Experian only requires for the original creditor to swear that the bill is true. They don’t actually investigate that the charges are true, they will, however, vouch for the bill collector, and add it to your credit report, and then, when you present them with evidence, refuse to change it. Experian hasn’t been legit in awhile as if you have enough money to can pay them a monthly fee to increase your credit. I thought the point of a credit bureau, as there are only three is to be impartial and do not allow customers to buy the credit number they need.

Bank account connection. Bank account is always disconnecting for no reason. It also doesn’t see all of my utilities and doesn’t count them. I’ve reached out and was told that my bank needed to notate that these payments are in fact utilities and they’re still not listed even though my bank has done this. Also if you’re planning on changing your name or getting married don’t make an account until your name is already legally changed. Even though your name is automatically changed and verified with the three credit bureaus they require you to submit proof of name change. Which is fine but now my bank account won’t connect because the name on my Experian boost account is different from my bank account information. Even though they have my new married name listed as an alias. It doesn’t make sense that my bank account won’t connect even though they have my married name on the account. I prefer credit karma over all this hassle.

Not working any more(update). UPDATE: was contacted by support and they are actually interested in fixing the issue. Not working yet so no 5 stars but it definitely is a five star program when it works. And the fact that support actually seems to BE supporting, this warrants bringing the rating up immediately. (Used to love this app. I could keep up with my credit easily. Now all I get is an “error loading data” message on anything having to do with credit. I’ve uninstalled it and reinstalled but nothing seems to fix the problem and this has been going on now for several weeks. There has been an update to the app that didn’t have any effect. Right now the app is useless to me )

Real Time Alerts & Feedbacks. Experian provides real time alerts regarding changes to my credit file. I’m immediately able to check any updates to stay on top of my file. This recently helped me make the decision to change a long-time insurer. I questioned the lack of change in rate based on tenure and other factors. The insurer claimed to have performed a “comprehensive” review including credit review. This did not appear on my Experian file, which the insurer claimed to have utilized. Based on my inability to substantiate the insurer’s claim, I moved on to another insurer and lowered my rate by 25+% while increasing my coverage. I find Experian user friendly (it helped me to review the tips). Most importantly, it’s an effective tool in allowing me to model my credit scenario and steadily strengthen my credit score. It’s been a worthwhile investment for the 1 Starbucks/per week I decided to give up!!

Fair, helpful, on-time, and make me feel good about my progress. (Fair) Most of credit agency look at all of us as machines and forget about our feeling and are not sensitive. (Helpful and on-time) if you have any complaint Experian act immediately on my behave to correct the problem and update your record immediately and other agencies to from a month to three months to update your credit report. (Make me feel good) Experian e-mail me warnings and assist me to take care of my financial affaires specially during the tough time I am going through divorce & start of a new business. Thank you Experian and I am planning to sign up as a member this month. By the way, I travel a lot and I would like to have access during my travel to overseas.i want to write a lot more but maybe some other time .., I urge you to continue doing what you are doing .. I love it and thank you very much.. Cheers

Simple as 123. Experian is giving you everything upfront that creditors are looking at as well, I love it because when I want to see my score right away it’s there and it’s easy to use it’s informing me on all of my revolving credit how my open accounts are being effected by my payment history helpful hints on how to raise my credit score and the history of it, credit card offers and the likelihood of being approved and just more great tools to help build your credit. I remember when Companies would charge you to look at your credit and they wouldn’t give you all the information upfront so you’d have to keep buying more and more parts of the app just to get to your full credit report, with this app it’s 100% FREE! It’s all there! Thank you Experian great great app 👍🏽

Customer Service Doesn’t Care. I’ve reported multiple times to customer service about a problem with American Express accounts staying connected and they constantly sent me a scripted response without ever escalating to tech-support to troubleshoot my issue. I keep getting notifications that American Express account has been disconnected and I simply deleted reconnected successfully and not even 12 hours later it’s disconnected again. This problem happens every single day and I’m done trying to get it resolved since they refused to escalate my case to tech-support. This company is horrible and their customer service staff doesn’t listen to their customers. They also continue to spam you with unwanted push notifications trying to sell their services even though you disable promotional offers within your profile settings. So to stop the unwanted messages, you have to turn everything off entirely at the OS system level. VERY bad and poor customer experience!!

Can’t live without this app!. Wow, has my credit increased since signing up with Experian! I like that they give you updates as soon as something hits your credit report. They also give you tips on how to improve your credit based on your individual report. Not just tips like other apps, but real world advice on what actions you should take to improve your score. I had the free version for a while before upgrading, but even the free version is worthwhile. I also use MyFICO and its a very close call. Experian seems to update more often. However, I do wish they would update all 3 bureau scores instead of waiting a month for Equifax and TU. Experian, this is where MyFICO has the advantage over you. I still love you guys though. A military discount would also be nice. Thanks for the great service!

A Huge helping guide💸💸. Me and my husband have been trying to buy a house for some number of years now to find out they run FICO 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 not trans/equifax. I couldn’t find a way to keep track of my fico for free without ruining my credit. So one day we were listening to the radio. Wcgci 107.5 Chicago and a credit helped was talking on the air about this app. I quickly googled it and downloaded it and to my surprise it was FICO not equifax and transunion like Credit Karma *i have both apps* I was super excited and now I’ve been monitoring my FICO score and it helped me to open a new credit card to boost my score and I also linked my bank account and got my FICO score BOOSTED with Experian Boost. If I could I would definitely give this app a 10/5 ratings! Thank you to the creator and inventor of Experian you are truly amazing and a thoughtful person!

Better insight than Credit Karma. I’m not knocking against CK. They also have been great. But after checking into the actual credit bureaus data straight from the Credit Bureaus (outside of CK), I can see that the data is sometimes a little outdated. Experian is not covered by CK, but I can get more details (using inexpensive premium option) about Equifax and Transunion with MORE updated data. Also, the Free Score boost tool literally boosted my score 45 points immediately upon use! NOT in 30 days or something. That is CRAZY good! If you add your bank and credit cards that you use to pay your bills, it will even boost you points for those accounts. It does the heavy lifting of scouring your bank or credit card for services like Media accounts (Netflix or other streaming) and utilities like your water bill. I’d highly recommend you at least try out the free option and use that Boost tool ASAP. It’s absolutely worth it. Again, you don’t need the Premium to use the Score booster. Just setup free account, after logging into the iPhone app, click on the last tab on bottom-right and it should be listed towards the top of that tab.

Sleazy Business Practices. After having a freeze on my reports for years I had to temporary lift it to apply for a credit card for my new business. The free trial sounded great, so I signed up and noted in my calendar when the trial would end and monthly billing would start. I did pay $5 to temporarily unlock my report for my bank to view, but then attempted to stop the $9.95 subscription. No one at the company answered my emails and I sat on the phone for over an hour despite the recording saying the wait would be 7–10 minutes. The app is so easy to use, yet one is NOT able to cancel the subscription on it. This behavior is too blatant and Experian is obviously trying to prevent me from cancelling a $9.95 monthly charge for a product I do not need! I never asked them to compile my data, so why do I now have to pay them to not release this same data? THIS DATA SHOULD BR FREE TO ME SINCE IT IS MINE, fine if you want to charge the retailers and banks wanting these reports but to charge me and other consumers is greed.

Just terrible!. For some reason my registration failed. I’m sure all information I provided is valued and correct, but both the website and the app don’t let me log in. Website says nothing. I log in, go to the only available service (credit report) click on ‘get the report’, fill in the information, click again, and can continue clicking as many times as I wish without any effect. The app says that I have to finish the registration. I do it, and then it tells me to contact customer support because my registration failed. Upon calling there is an automated assistant that doesn’t have the option ‘registration failed’ it only has membership questions. I called there dozen times, I also called all the customer service numbers I found online, and I can’t get to a human, no matter how hard I tried! AI doesn't have the option to deal with such questions, it feeds me irrelevant info. I wasted half of my day, and I’m shocked by the website, the app, and the total lack of customer support.
