IPhone X Support?. Love the game but really can’t play it since getting the iPhone X. Is support coming soon?

Necrodancer. I really, REALLY like this game... However.... And I know this is all on me, and not even really a complaint (which is why I've still given it 5stars)... the game is just SO BIG! I only have a 16GB phone (with the OS, it's more like 12), and I can't ever install it because I never have the space. =J I wish they would have lowered the quality of the music and allowed those who wanted HQ tracks to freely download them so that the app could be smaller in size. But... whatchoogonnado? This is an AWESOME game, and I still HIGHLY recommend it if you're into roguelikes and/or music tappers.

This game is fantastic!. However, I have to give it three stars, because there wasn’t really indication that the entirety of this game was included in NecroDancer: Amplified on the app page. I really don’t like giving a bad star review to such a great game, but this is a pretty big issue.

Please Update for New Devices!. On newer devices like the IPhone XS, the game is shrunken, making it harder to play. I love this game SO much, fixing that would make it perfect!

Don’t buy for iPhone X. The text and field of view are way too small for the phone screen. It’s the PC UI shrunk down to a box smaller than your phone. Very lazy port. The only reason I’m not returning this is because it’s so good on iPad and TV.

Unplayable. This game is clearly a good one of Nintendo is letting the developer make a Zelda game with the same mechanics. I original purchased the game due to App Store promotion. But, I couldn’t play over an hour due to TERRIBLE controls. This game is not intended for a phone screen. Only get it if you want to hate it and be frustrated that it’s getting so much praise.

Amazing with only one problem. I had been playing this game for some time now and just unlocked Melody, but then my save data had been corrupted, and now I have to start over. Please fix this problem.

Amazingly addictive.. I’m not going to sugarcoat it: Crypt of the Necrodancer is hard. It is a game that requires tons of practice to learn every enemy attack, what every weapon/item does and how to use them to your advantage. Once you put in the time and learn it, you will find one of the most satisfying and fun games to play ever, though. There is no other game like Cotnd it offers a unique experience. Not to mention, the soundtrack is amazing. Its worth the purchase for that alone.

Love it..but.... I really love this game. Difficult, original, and can be addictive. It would be a five star game for me, except it obviously isn’t optimised for the X. I can hardly make out the figure, and have looked for a zoom button but had no luck at all finding one. If this were to be fixed it would easily be one of my all time favourites from the App Store. Without being able to zoom the game is playable, but far less enjoyable.

Incompatible With Newer IPhone Devices.. The is UI way too small and completely unusable on newer devices such as the 7+, 8+, and X. If compatibility is added for a these devices, this game would definitely deserve 5 stars.

Nifty port…but. It lacks the amplified dlc, while they updated with the danganronpa crossover, it still feels like it needs the amp dlc to feel whole, in my opinion. While I recommend it to peeps still on the fence about buying this on steam, I don’t recommend it to those who are finicky about control schemes

Beware - Always on Home Bar!. The Home Bar is always on in a game with swipe controls? An errant swipe too close to the Home Bar will start to switch to another app, ruining your rhythm. This game need to be updated to properly dim the Home Bar so it takes two swipes to exit the app.

Sadly Obsolete. With the DLC now available as a separate app, there is no longer any reason to buy this over it. The DLC has everything that this has. However, I would not recommend deleting this yet. I am hoping for the possibility of a data transfer soon, and until either then or catching up, I would recommend keeping the original for those characters.

This game WAS great but.... Ok so basically i used to play this game on the same gaming device i have now, but then i deleted it because i was lazy. Now i try to redownload it cant, takes 15 minutes to complete then says ‘installing’ and resets. Also after i tried deleting it 3 times to remove its necrodancer title screen and moved it, it stopped working right with only ability to move, couldnt download, couldnt delete. Would be 5 stars if i could you know PLAY.

absolutely love it. I love this game, it is my most played iOS game. The platform is perfect for mobile. Although there are some bugs that need to be sorted out. It doesn’t let me download from the app for most of the time. I also experience a crash half the time whenever the “low power” pop-up occurs:

Great game, but crashes during launch.. I love this game. Played it for hours on Steam and was excited to play it on my phone, but the entire application crashes after continuing the title screen.

Keep trying if you can't download. A few phone reboots and many many tries and I have the software now. That never happens to me. It's a new phone... Idk I got it now so thanks for the port work that went into this. Wishing you all success on your future projects.

Sorry but a joke. I have this game for PS4 so i thought id get it for my phone. So buggy. Took an entire night to download wouldn’t even open. Downloaded it again and theres no sound and i cant get bombs or healing items to work. Good game bad as an app.

Epic game but... This game is good and I love the music especially deep blues theme, however after zone 2 when zone 3 unlocked I left the game expecting everything to be the same. Then for some reason when I joined in next I lost ALL of my progress. I had everything in the lobby unlocked and had dove unlocked and the game said no more and I lost it all. Please give me my progress so that I can continue.

Buy amplified. I love this game but there is no reason to buy this version instead of amplified so save the $5 and go get amplified!

Love it but.... Update: hey devs I would really love to play the game that I paid for but you still haven’t fixed this for my iPhone X. The entire dpad is seriously half the size of my thumbprint, it is UNPLAYABLE! I’m pretty annoyed now so my review is going to 1 Star. I’ll change it once I can actually play the game , so fix it ! This games seriously needs an iPhone X update , it was great on my 6S+ but now the d-pads are way to small on my new X, it’s pretty much unplayable , which is a shame because the game is really great, please update soon and I’ll change my review.

Concept still amazing, but touchscreen controls terrible compared to original PC version. Much fun as this game is, especially the PC version, the mobile version’s touchscreen controls are absolutely terrible for later levels and speed run gameplay. Any two-button combinations have a high a high chance of failing when you need them, whether because your fingers barely miss the arrows, or when one finger hits an arrow milliseconds too early. If you have a controller then great, but good luck otherwise. If a future fix can adjust the controls a bit can come back and re rate though. Still a great core game.

Love this game, perfect for mobile. It only doesn’t get 5 stars because it currently doesn’t have support for iPhone X and that kinda makes edges hard to hit, and there are two features that would really help me play. One is an option to change the d-pad size, on my iPhone X they are pretty tiny and hard to hit. The other feature is keyboard control support. I would love to just be able to use my blue tooth keyboard for its physical buttons without having to have a MFi controller with me. The game itself though, which I’ve played on pc and psvita, is great. It’s one of the only rogue likes that I can play. And I really enjoy the rhythm while dungeon crawling.

Don’t Get This App. The game itself is a 10/10, but that’s only on any different platform or system. If you try and download this game, it won’t even Install. It just freezes. It has happened to dozens of people. Don’t waste 5 dollars.

Phenomenal rhythm rougelike. Phenomenal game with EPIC music that only gets better (love the singing shop keepers!). It is definitely not easy but if you love music and enjoyed the difficulty of VVVVVV then you’ll love this dungeon crawler/rougelike. There is plenty to keep you going back

Great on PC, great on iPad, with two caveats. I love this game; I really do. It is super fun, original, and creative. However, there is one major oversight and one minor tweak that need to be fixed: First, the major gripe: when using bluetooth headphones, there is no ability to compensate for bluetooth lag. We really need the ability to calibrate the audio, otherwise the game is quite un-fun. Since the iPhone 7 and 8 do not have headphone jacks, I only have bluetooth headphones now. Second, the minor gripe: it would be really nice if you could enable keyboard controls for the iPad Pro hardware keyboard. Keep it up, and keep it aweseome!

Bugs. 1 No Music sometimes when playing Bard 2 sometimes stuck on ice in Zone3. I cannot play anymore... fun game

Great game but I’m having a little trouble. I love the game and have wasted many hours on it, and I’m really interested in continuing the story, but there’s a bug where when I get to the zone 4 boss as melody, the message “Audio Cheating Detected” and my game freezes. Because of this, I cannot unlock all the characters and continue the story. I’d love for this to be fixed someday so I can continue enjoying this amazing play of a game.

Don't buy this one!. The game is great, but Necrodancer: Amplified is the DLC app, and it has all the features of this one, and then some; AND it's the same price as this one. If you buy this one there is no way to transfer progress to the second app, and you will have to pay the whole price for the second one.

Amazing!!!. This is one of my all time favorites games. Not just on mobile, but on any platform! So unique and challenging and just a blast to play. One issue, game will load but when I drop into any level the game crashes. Just noticed this bug after I upgraded to iPhone 11 running iOS 13. Please address so I can resume the crypt slaying!!

Unusable on iPhone X. The iPhone X has been out for nearly 3 months and this app still doesn’t support it. Why does apple feature apps that are not compatible with the latest hardware? Playing this game on iPhone X is so tiny and unusable. Please update your app

Almost perfect. I have this game on pc and switch, and now I can play wherever I want. There’s a few problems though... like the items being covered by the notch without being able to set a safe zone, or the occasional crash. Still, being able to enjoyably play this more than makes up for the minor inconveniences

Broken on iPhone 8 plus. I was really hoping for a great game on my iPhone 8 Plus. Sadly the game seems to run in an eternal state of being zoomed out, causing the game to be way too small to see anything on the screen. What’s worse is this issue was brought up way back when the game first released and yet it still hasn’t been addressed in any way. It’s such a shame because the core game can be very fun.

X (iOS 11.x). UPDATE: TOO SMALL AND IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL ON THE IPHONE X. 5-STAR GAME THAT IS UNPLAYABLE IN ITS CURRENT STATE. Just a couple of ours into the Steam version on my computer and this title releases. I had been wondering whether the simple yet elaborate mechanics would be a good fit for mobile, and the developers have answered with a pulse-pounding affirmative. The rhythmic approach to traditional dungeon-crawling distinguishes this title from nearly all others. Thank you, Brace Yourself Games! I look forward to many hours of fun on the go. By the way, the addition of three separate control schemes and the option to play locally stored tunes speaks to the highest levels of developer prowess. These are the companies we should support. **EDIT: Actually I am and I do, "Glair ion." It just looks like I am enjoying it a whole lot more than you at this point. By the way, the devs wouldn't know me (or this review) from a hole in the wall. It's my honest opinion of the title.

Pretty much phenomenal. This game is polished, unique, and almost bug free. There is a huge bug with the pause button — if you pause and come back sometimes the game will freeze, causing you to lose your progress, which is frustrating. Sometimes the game will lag for no reason— as if the character is underwater. Otherwise, the game is brutally difficult. It’s difficulty makes progress deliciously rewarding and there’s a somewhat consistent sense of progress, to keep you coming back. (That progress stops after a while though.) Regardless, the rush you feel after every run, success or fail, surpasses the frustration of the ridiculous learning curve. I do not recommend the game for anyone without a keen sense of rhythm; the rhythm is obviously a core part of the gameplay, and having not yet mastered keeping rhythm will make an already hardcore game a lot harder. You have been warned. However, if you have or are playing an instrument, like I am, then it’s a phenomenal game.

Really good, but one problem. Whenever I play I'll be doing good then end up losing my multiplier because all the sudden the controls decided to be unresponsive. Not sure why this happens but it's annoying. Might just be me but idk

Almost everything I wanted. Ok so this was like my favorite game until I beat it and then felt really unsatisfied. The only thing more that I would want is a level creator or something that you can post your levels and stuff like that. I hope you can add one for a little extra to make this a five star review. Otherwise this is probably my favorite game ever.

good game besides one thing. It’s a great port of crypt of the NecroDancer but one big problem is that on my 8+ all the ui is very very small making it hard to play well. An option to scale the ui and zoom into the game would greatly improve the port

No response from developer. Apple referred me to contact the developer because the app just would not download or install. It would reach about 70% and then resets back to “Waiting” of “Loading.” Never received a response.

Everything too small on 8+. I’ll start by saying I love this game. I bought it for PS4 and am currently working on Zone 4. The iPhone version, at least on the 8+, is just not fun to play. The d pad controls are extremely small, as are all of the icons, to the point that it’s hard to read any text. This is a problem in a game where one wrong move can end your run in a heartbeat. It honestly looks like the whole game is stuck on 50% zoom, and based on other reviews, it’s probably an issue for just the 7+ and 8+. I’ll happily bump this up to 5 stars once the issue is fixed, because I just can’t bring myself to play it in its current state. Edit: Downgrading to 1 star because they haven’t fixed the issue and they’re still allowing people with an iPhone plus or X to purchase a clearly broken game. Edit: Still not updated

Will not download. I’ve tried restarting the iPhone and uninstalling the game and reinstalling. It will not download. On WiFi or on cellular data. And I can’t seem to find any help with the issue.

We need DLC!!. I have steam version too and I always play this game on PC. JUST BECAUSE OF DLC. Now, it’s essential for playing game. Plz release DLC. Everyone is alright with it!

Crashes whenever I try to open it.. I know that this game is supposed to be great, but it crashes every time I try to open it. Until that’s fixed, I can only give it one star.

Good game, too unstable tho. The game is amazing, I love how fun and good the music and game is. I wish the app didn’t crash so much. When I’m in the lobby, it crashes almost every time I try to get into the levels. It gets really frustrating because you never know when you will actually be able to play. Hopefully this will get fixed soon.

i loved beating it but.... i love this game on mobile. beat it with my 6s in a day and got up to level 3 as melody. it’s fair to say i’m pretty decent at the game, the problem however is i recently got an iphone x. My backup for corrupted for my iphone 6s and had to download the game again (i didn’t select icloud save so i had to start all over- which i mean, that’s alright i wanted to do another play through anyway). however the game isn’t optimized for the iphone X. due to the added screen space on the X, the d pad controls are super small making it easy to “crush” the movement (like i literally dislike playing the first tutorial stage) and i can only imagine dying to tons of blood spells later in the game where combinations are needed. in conclusion/summary: please optimize this amazing port for the screen dimensions of the iphone x

I mean, It’s exactly the same.... Still good, exactly like the PC Version. Definitely needs a resolution fix, or at least a hud button size setting, top priority is the resolution though, it promotes eye strain... Otherwise it’s the exact same game (which is a wonderfully original game), so I still recommend it if you have any device that isn’t an 8+ or above.

Amazingly fun game with control issues. The game itself is great, I have no complaints or anything about that. The only problem is that the iOS controls are clunky and seem to have a delay sometimes, especially the d-pad. I'd say get the PC version if you can, since delays in a rhythm game are a problem, buuut this version is still worth buying if you don't have a PC that can run it or you just want to give these amazing developers some more of your money.

Necromancy at its finest!. From the randomly generated dungeons, the various musical transmutations of names of monsters and bosses, and the music that is more addictive than sherbet flavoured meth amphetamine, the only reason this game hasn't settled into the archives of the greatest games of all time is because it's still necrodancing and raising the dead and making the thumbs of the living do the steps of St. Vitus' dance! My only complaint is I can't put it down- at least I could avoid it when it was on my pc. Now it's on my mobile I'm doom-da-doom-doom-da-doomed!

Super Excited to Play!... but won’t download ?-?. Greetings Developers and those who may be reading, I have an iPhone 6s and unfortunately the app is ‘unable to download.’ I definitely have enough space but it just won’t download. I have a lot of songs in my iTunes library which have been transferred from actual discs (which could be why the game is confused?.. I dunno) I have seen game reviews and know I will like this game but it wont download, I spent 8 dollars and know that you are trusted developers. Please fix this bug and/or compatibility issue. Waiting. I bought this game around midday, and still has not downloaded, multiple times it has said unable to download, and I started it again, it looks like a great game but I spent 7.99 on it and have not gotten the game yet, it’s available on my version of phone, I definitely have enough space on my phone but it won’t download... so far, it’s a waste of money, not sure if it’s a bug but if it is please patch it

Great game, horrendous controls. This game is pretty much an exact port of the desktop version, and it's just as good. The only problem is that none of the three control schemes offered to you are any good. With swipe, it's very hard to not accidentally trigger your spells over and over again, which kills you from blood magic. With the d-pads, combos only work about half the time, and it keeps thinking you hit a different button than you actually did. With edges, moving vertically is a bit confusing and slows you down.

Fantastic!. I love this game :) Usually can't play with sound so having the Bard character is very happy making. Great ideas, I am having so much fun even after a few weeks

Awesome but no custom music?. I’d love to give this 5 stars as it’s a great game in itself but it crashes every time I select custom music. So I’m stuck with default which is great but I was really keen for the custom tracks. Heartbreaking stuff.

Absolutely love this game!. An amazing game and I highly recommend it! I've spend many hours playing The only issue I have is the controls. There are three types of input methods, I use the D-pad looking ones but I often miss keys because the placement isn't super optimized for iPad Pro 12.9". I don't have an MFi controller and my keyboard isn't supported.

My favourite mobile game. What can I say, I’ve been playing this regularly for almost a year now. Challenging, varied mechanics, catchy music, the perfect rogue-like dungeon crawler. Very few mobile games appeal to me, but this one really hits the spot.

Perfect port. Fantastic rogue-like with a fun twist with the rhythm based play. Great tunes as well.

Love it.. Currently playing it on my iPad and Apple TV. Definitely better on the iPad when it comes to timing and trying to use the Apple TV remote to play is a bit difficult but still a great game!

Wow crypt of the necrodancer is hard. Crypt of the necrodancer is a good game don’t get me wrong but there are some difficult spikes I hate I’m only going off of the 3 story charters so if you have not played this game and like challenge then this is for you but don’t read this if you don’t want me to ruin the story characters k so cadiens story was at a ok difficulty it’s good a good balanced difficulty but I thought having to fight the dead ringer and the necrodancer on the same life was kinda dumb on top of that the massive amount of difficult enemy’s while doing the same 3floors was also not really far then Melody’s chapter came it was a little to easy with the lue being the most powerful weapon in the game caring you throw the hole chapter and I now it’s easy because I beat the final stage in like 5 attempts then you play as aria...one word to describe arias play hell listen I’m ok with only using the dagger I’m even ok with 1 hp but I’m absolutely not ok with with missing a single beat killing me and all the you guys do is ok so uh hear have one revive potion k bye no it’s dumb and you now it is with one person beating all zone mode with her I’m sorry I’m not crazy enough to beat her chapter so what you guys must do is this to fix these spikes with melody add a new type of enemy called the golden enemy where they take 4 hits and aria keep the dagger rule keep the one hp rule and add the golden enemy’s to but remove the miss a beat dead rule it’s just dumb

Wish it offered music support outside of Apple Music or iTunes.. Great little game, controls great with the swipe feature, I didn’t use the other controls since swipe is usually best, decent amount of content. But I wish I could use my own custom music, as of right now you can only use music you have through Apple Music or iTunes, I have all my music uploaded using Evermusic Pro, it would be nice if it supported that.

Awesome but too small on iPhones. This game is just awesome. The music is outstanding, the graphics are cool and the gameplay is super addictive. However, the display is too small to be playable on a phone, even on my big iPhone XS Max! I can’t even read some of the text, and the buttons are so tiny I can’t reliably press them. There should be an option to enlarge the graphics, because as it is it ruins an otherwise very good game! Please add an option to enlarge the display!

As good as on PC. The game is just amazing, the music is amazing, everything is amazing! If you like dungeon crawling games and music then this is for you! I bought this game on PC when it released a couple of years ago and I just bought it again because it's so good!

Pros Addicting, good sountrack, good gameplay, good controls, good replay value Cons Temporarily resets progress when not connected to game center, likely chance of crashing on exiting app. Hard to play on faster modes due to no calibration setting. Definitely worth it and even more for the pc version. Review on ipod 6th gen

Can’t install. I feel like this game would be awesome but when I bought it and it finished installing it wasn’t installed and just started over again. This might just be a problem with my phone but who knows maybe there is a bug that needs to be fixed

Absolutely superb!!!. Bought this game while still on steam early access and watched it grow a few years back. Anybody with even a passing interest in rogue-likes, music and good games(who doesnt) ought to do themselves a favor and buy this. The amount of content, the quality of it, the top notch soundtrack(s) and overall fun factor makes this an absolute no brainer. It's dirt cheap for what you get. Now put your shoes on and go disco-dungeon crawl :D

Please, this game NEEDS portrait mode. I am a huge fan of the game since a long time and have it on steam. However, I think playing in landscape can be a bit annoying on phablets. If it is possible it would be extremely awesome to see a portrait mode even if it limits our field of view

One of the best!. Starting out, I almost passed this one over, but persevered because it has such high reviews. It doesn't really give you enough info, presumably because so much of the content was added on later. Stick with it like I did and you will be rewarded with a phenomenal game. Sure it has a few little kinks that could be ironed out like the D-pad being too small and forcing you to return to the main room after monster practice instead of the monster practice choose room, but overall, this is one of the best iPhone game experiences! Give it at least an hour of your time and you'll be hooked. This coming from someone who has probably put in around 20 hours to finally beat it. By the way... watch it, this game is NOT easy or forgiving, you earn EVERY little bit of progress you make!!

An Almost PERFECT Game!. This game is really awesome. You will get hooked after the first beat. This game would be worth 5 stars, but there is a bug that can ruin your experience. I played this game non-stop for about two weeks. But then suddenly my save data was completely erased, except for my run replays. I played it again from the beginning, and the bug happened again. Now, I'm in an infinite loop of playing and being forced to start over. Don't let that discourage you. This game is worth all of its praise and its $5 price tag.

I will always love CotD, but.... I just wish there was an options to make the icons bigger, so if you choose to use items by tapping them it makes it easier to do so. Played the app a little bit and I've already accidentally bombed myself twice when trying to use some meat or an apple. Otherwise, an amazing port! This is the third time I've bought this game, and I still love it! Please keep up the good work

Awesome Surprise!. This game is amazing! I bought the PC/Mac version when it was in Early Access and loved every minute of it! When I saw it was coming to iOS I had to buy it! The controls work great, and the game runs smooth. The only thing I would like to see improved are the menu options, it is sometimes hard to select the option I want or hit "done" because they are kind of small. Awesome surprise! Love it!

Been looking forward to this!👍🏼. Great game and have seen it on pc but now i can carry it with me whenever! However it does tend to skip a beat every now and then even though i clearly move, but doesn't cost much of anything messing up that lil in this game. Fantastic artwork and music and just absolutely worth the buy!

Update: please make action icons bigger. Update: having a miserable time trying to use the bomb icon for Eli. I get a bomb made 40% of the time when I need it. Really makes gameplay a sloppy hassle in an otherwise enjoyable game. Sad truth: There are very few songs in my collection that can accompany the gameplay. I have about 100 songs stored and can play 12 because of song format. As a fumble-fingered, no-rhythm fattening white man (who loves roguelikes to pieces), I thought the musical part of this game would leave me frustrated and unable to get ahead. Just a few hours in, the ample upgrades and truly enjoyable play (I love using "Bla Bla Bla" by Toots and the Maytals") have shown me. Anyhow, there is a turn-based Bard mode I've never had to use, and I've gotten my (musical) groove back for the first time since college music lessons. Spoiler: loving the original concepts, including moving to a new floor when the song ends. Considering there are prisoners waiting to be unlocked, this adds urgency to a dungeon crawl already awesomely reeking of permadeath.

Truly Amazing!. That perfect blend of dungeon crawler strategy with on your toes thinking. You don't have time to chess-out the next 10 moves, think on the fly. Move your feet. First time I've really listened to a games soundtrack and this one is really really enjoyable. I don't want to make any hype about DLC yet because I still have lots of game to play. Thank you guys for the awesome port!

An impressive mobile port of an already amazing game. This morning I woke up to see this game on the App Store. I was overjoyed, because I've played the original PC edition for many hours. My main worry with this game was that the controls would be too much trouble compared to a standards keyboard. After trying all the options, I decided swipe controls were the easiest to use and felt the best. The game is the exact same as the original, but now in a form that you can bring with you in your pocket. I absolutely love this game, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys rhythm games or a good challenge. And, obviously, the music in the game (every version of it) is outstanding. This is a game I plan to continue playing for the next year or so. Good job, Brace Yourself Games!

Yes. Yes. Just.....yes. I have been waiting in what seems like forever for a game to come along and capture my attention for more than 15 min. Crypt of the Necrodancer has been in a constant state of play sense the day I downloaded it. I saw it on PC but the concept never really appealed to me, a rogue like dungeon crawler wrapped up in a rhythm game. How ever, as I came to find, crypt of the Necrodancer is a dungeon crawlers dream come true. There are tons of items to find/unlock, daily challenges where everyone is given the same dungeon and sees you competing for the high score, tons of other characters to unlock, and gameplay that just begs for "one more run". However, new comers be warned: this game is hard. HARD. I consider myself a perfectly able gamer however this game has challenged me in so many ways, however with the way the system is set up, I never felt cheated for dying, as it was almost always something I did that found me running face first into a minotaurs horns. However after a couple runs you eventually get the idea. If you are a fan of dungeon crawlers/rhythm games, stop reading this review. Buy it. Now. Like right now, over draft your bank account if necessary, you will not regret it.

Entirely unique and amazing game!. When I first heard about this game, I saw it’s soundtrack was made by Danny Baranowsky, who made the soundtracks for Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac. As soon as I saw this, I bought it immediately, knowing I was already in for some excellent music. And yet, the game not only provides an excellent soundtrack, but also includes a very fun, very polished game. Not to mention, if you don’t like the music, or want to challenge yourself with something fun, you can use your own music if you’ve downloaded it! There are only two issues I have with the game, but those are mostly nitpicking. The pause button can mess with your progress. If you pause the game, you are almost guaranteed to miss a beat (which will literally kill you instantly in later modes, which can be a HUGE pain). The other issue is that the controls are a bit difficult to adjust to. I happen to prefer D-pad controls, but since the game was originally meant to be played with arrow keys/wasd, or a controller d-pad. Either way, real buttons. I really wish there was an option to increase the size of the d-pad, since it can be difficult to hit certain directions at the same time (which is how you use items or cast spells). This issue for me has been mostly reduced by practice, but can still be an issue at times. One advantage I respect this game for is charging up front for the full game. No ads, no microtransactions (although I would gladly pay for the Amplified DLC if it comes out). You buy the game, you get a full game. It doesn’t seem obvious, but this game is hard. This game starts difficult and never gets easier from the beginning, until you learn exactly how every enemy, every item, every boss, and every other feature in the game, functions. The number of times that you will die increases exponentially with each zone, until you finally find yourself in a situation where both luck and skill finally cone together in just the right way to take down that boss at the end. It can get frustrating, it’ll get infuriating, some times it’ll get cheap, but that just makes winning all the more satisfying. This game is a winner, and is well worth your time.

Good, but.... I love necrodancer. I have 25 hours clocked in on my PC version. This game is really nice on mobile, however, it's plagued by crashes that can happen when my phone is locked or I tap on a notification that has popped up right where I was going to tap. Because I like to do all zone runs, this has become very difficult to deal with. If this were to be addressed, I would surely give this 5 stars. Device info: IPhone 6s running iOS 10.3.2

Amazing game, but a HUGE bug.. Ok, let me preface this by saying, this game is amazing. I ran into a giant bug (which I will explain soon) but this game is still an easy five stars. It's fun, challenging, the music is great, and the skill ceiling is pretty high. Now, on to the bug I encountered. After the first one and a half or so weeks I played this I got pretty far into the game. But, I didn't unlock all the characters. Well, I got on to play a quick run but my save was gone. Hours of work disappeared. I was obviously upset. But I love the game so I started over from scratch. This time, I unlocked almost all the characters but I didn't get as far with the upgrades. Today I got on to play a run and my save was gone. But the weird thing is that my original save replaced it. This time I'm really mad. I got so far in my second save, only to have it disappear. I'm still not very good at this game so it's going to take me a lot of work to get up to where I was before. But, even so, I love this game. Really, I could sing it's praises for hours, but I feel like that would be a bit too long for a review.

A Work Of Art. Music: Some of the best I've ever heard in a game, like seriously, the soundtrack alone is worth the price of this game. Gameplay: All enemies have unique fighting patterns and challenges to overcome. Levels are randomly generated with hidden chests, objects, and secret areas! I originally played this game on PC and have put about 25 hours into it with still more to be discovered! Reply ability. Boss Battles: Boss battles (major boss battles) are exciting and add a twist to every zone of the game. These ending zone battles really build up the adrenaline and give you a sense of celebration after they have been defeated! Overall this is hands down one of my favorite games of all time. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightfully challenging new addition to their device.

Amazing and fun game. I absolutely love the game so far, however one thing I think would benefit the game would be a control scheme where you tap in the direction you want to go, like the screen is divided into four triangles. I often find myself missing the buttons on the button layout. I also have difficulties with swipe and edge as well. Maybe others are having this slight issue as well and may benefit from a control scheme like the one described above.

Almost amazing port of an amazing game!. After playing through a few times I can tell this is a great port of what is one of the most unique and enjoyable games I have ever played. Graphics and animations are fun, the music is great, and if the developer provides as much support as he does for the pc(of which I have been playing since beta) version of the game this app has a very bright future. The gameplay is addicting and has sssoooo much replayability it will keep you entertained for a while. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this game! My only gripe so far is the controls on an iPhone 6+ need some work. All of the control schemes are close to working well, but feel a little cumbersome. Swipe controls would be perfect if instead of having to swipe up and down with 2 hands you could just swipe with 2 fingers. Developers make it happen! Edge control is good but the actual edge needs to be a little bigger. The dual dpad works but my fat fingers mis click too often. All that being said I know they will work out the kinks because they are awesome like that! Also the game is still amazing as is, just needs a little refinement. All in all this is the first time I've spent more than a dollar or two on a game. It absolutely is worth the 5! Go get it!

Excellent game but why does it keep crashing when literally anything pops up from notifications?. I can not be the only one who will get a notification slide the tab down to close out of the alert and it crashes the game. It's any notification not just specific ones. It's not bad but enough to be irritating as all hell. But besides that it's an excellent port of Necrodingus.

Incredible game, wildly difficult. Really fun game. Unforgiving, but that means you see the improvement in your play over time. Devs, pretty please fix it so my save data doesn't disappear on updating, and also the game quits often when I die and start immediately pressing where "quick restart" will be. Playing on iPhone SE running os 9.3.4

Best dungeon RPG!. I have read other reviews and I decided to buy this game. I had no idea the game would be this good! The music gives it the best gameplay possible, and the controls are simple and easy to learn. The game was worth all $5 I spent on it. P.S. If your game crashes before the game starts, you need to update your internet operating system (iOS). Hope this helped!

Great port of an amazing game.. I already play this in PC, and was surprised to see a mobile version! It feels exactly the same as the PC version in terms of graphics, music, and addictive fun. The controls get a little getting used to (I prefer the swipe controls). One of the best features is the ability to record a run. Although I wish it were possible to record replays of past runs. There have been times where I would jump in to do the daily challenge but forgot to start the recording missing out on opportunities to upload the run to my facebook page. Overall it's a great game and definitely worth the price. Great value!
