Loved this app before this past update. Update: I now give this app 5 stars, why? Because the developers actually listen to their customers, even if it’s negative. I even ended up purchasing the pro version because I am one that believes in supporting developers/businesses that try their best to accommodate and listen. The one thing I wish was possible would be to have more control over reading sessions. For example, occasionally I accidentally end a reading session when I mean to hit pause and unfortunately there’s no way (that I know of) to combine or edit that reading session. I’m excited to see this app grow and look forward to future updates! ............ This was a fantastic app for tracking your reading, but unfortunately the developers have basically made it so you need to buy the $6.99 “pro-version” so that an ad does not automatically stop your timer. Such a bummer, I really loved this app. If they implement an update to take away this newly added ad issue I would be happy to give it a much higher rating, but unfortunately this new update will deter me from using this app at all. Response to feedback: That was very kind of you to respond. I really do love your app. I am just disappointed I updated it. My timer completely stopped with the ad. I read for about 45 minutes and when I looked at the timer after closing the ad it was on one minute and some seconds.

Genuinely good app. I used to be a reader. I fell out of it because I lost time and I’ve tried to use other apps before. A lot of them will try to push you to make longer or bigger reading goals. This one doesn’t. I set my goal to 15 minutes a day and 25 books this year. Nothing major, but still more than normal. The reminders are friendly and the ability to add a book to your reading list by scanning the ISBN is a gamechanger. I’ve seen apps try to charge way more for worse quality and I honestly think the app is worth the money, especially if you get a yearly subscription cause it’s half the price. I think the only issue I’ve had so far is having to re enter the page count for the books I’ve added because the app isn’t accurate, but that’s really not a big deal when I don’t have to type in the title, author, or upload the cover. All in all a really good, genuinely motivating app.

Great Motivator!. Update 3/6/22 - After nearly a year since signing up, I’m still loving Bookly; it’s definitely one of my top 5 “must do’s” every day. I’ve logged 222 days so far in my most recent streak and will be crushed now if I miss a day. I’ve realized that I have several classics I’ve never read for some reason. The motivation to reach goals helps me wade through some selections I might have been more tempted to abandon prior to using the app. Once it’s part of the stats, it needs to count toward the yearly goal, etc., so I’m loathe to quit one after starting. Keep doing the good stuff Bookly! I love this app. Have always been a “reader,” but since installing this app, I’ve “always got my nose in a book” according to my bestie. 🤓 I enjoy tracking my consecutive days read, and will avoid chores all day in order to not break my streak. 🤷‍♀️ By keeping a record of the books I’ve read, I no longer waste time rereading a book I read a couple of years ago that has slipped from memory, as I’ve done many times before I started using Bookly Pro. I can also revisit favorite passages by adding quotes to that title’s record, and my vocabulary has benefitted from the ability to note new/unfamiliar words and definitions as well. Very much worth the price annually, would definitely recommend.

Great App but not for all Kindle Books. I love Bookly—it has helped improve my reading habits demonstrably. Just getting your personal library listed in the app is a great motivator for me to get to books I want to read but never seem to get to. The only reason I don’t give it 5 Stars is that none of the great progress-tracking features work with the many Kindle or other e-books that provide “locations” rather than page numbers, especially when the same ebook contains multiple volumes or “books” within it. Often one can’t know if an ebook purchase will provide true pagination or only location numbers. It is next to impossible to keep track of progress on Bookly with these sorts of ebooks. If the latter, you can’t track your progress on Bookly. Is there a chance of adding an option to track reading progress by location? (The app does allow tracking of progress by percentage, but that is of little help since, in longer books, 1% can amount to many pages, sometimes more than a single reading session.). Thanks.

Feeling the joy of reading again. I used to be an avid reader as a child through high school, but lost touch with my love for reading when I entered college and for the first year of me working full time. I kept wanting to get back into reading but it felt hard to stick with it at first because I wasn’t in the habit of reaching for a book over social media or TV. Bookly was the perfect push in the right direction. I’ve had premium for a couple of months and tracking my reading has been so fun. I also participated in the April Readathon too, which was great! My constant praise of Bookly even convinced my husband to download it and now he’s rereading all the books from his childhood that he hasn’t made time for before. I’m really grateful for this app. My only wish was that there was a way to have an account so that I could login into Bookly on my iPad and not just my phone. Overall, highly recommend!

I’ll Be That Guy!. I’ll Be That Guy! I never review! Ever! Ever! Ever! At least not apps. And yet I find myself having used this app for four and a half months to be LIFE CHANGING! I love it. Before Bookly I read one or two books a year and that’s if I was lucky! It was inconsistent and based on flourishes of wonder and excitement! I now have read for 104 consecutive days. 15 books. 111 hours. And 3691 pages. And this is AFTER I deleted my logged sessions for DogMan books because they felt morally incorrect! (No shame to anyone who keeps these or logs these or tracks these) The streak feature has pushed me to pick up a book every single day and read, no matter what when or how; reading has become apart of my life more than I could have hoped for! It is totally worth the subscription. I can’t express this enough! There are some user interface things I would alter to make the app more present and attractive. But this doesn’t get in the way of my overall experience. Love Bookly.

Enjoyable. I really like the format, it is easy to use and pleasing. I also like how easy it is to add a book, I have a number of old pulp reads and the isbn codes don’t work so adding them in manually is nice. I find learning my reading stats to be very fun and love that I can search up unfamiliar words in the app along with adding quotes in it as well. I’m not a fan of the paid subscription aspect but you can still use it for free enough that it doesn’t feel like you are missing out. Plus it is decently easy to earn diamonds to unlock adding another book (base free is ten books). It cost 350 diamonds to be able to add another which are easy to earn through just using the reading tracker when you read. After two books I had enough to make this purchase so I don’t think it is going to ruin me from being able to enjoy the app anytime soon.

Best App for Readers. I’ve been using Bookly (formally known as Bookout) for years now, and I can’t say that I really use another app more. I’m a huge reader, and Goodreads is nice but this is honestly way better. It lets me keep track of all my books read in a super easy format and the in for graphics of my reading stats are amazing. I have a long streak that I’m trying to keep up, because this app makes me WANT to read more and more. The quotes feature and thoughts feature are both awesome and hilarious looking back after you finish a book. The only suggestions for the developers I have would be to allow a book to be reread, and maybe even implementing a social feature like Goodreads where you can add other readers and see their books/stats! But beyond that, the developers are awesome and are constantly updating the app to make it better. Some may see the paywall as annoying, but it’s paid for itself hundreds of times over in my opinion, and if you’re a reader this app is the best thing for us!

Could be exactly what I wanted, but I’m not willing to pay for every little feature. The app itself is exactly what I was looking for, however, if you want to actually be able to use it efficiently you are required to pay for it. I understand the creators/company needs to make money, but the best apps let you have the basics for free, and prompt you to BETTER your experience through payment plans. The basic functions of this app do not work for free after so much. You aren’t allowed to have more than 10 books in your list without upgrading. Which is fine, I guess. I was willing to reluctantly accept that without deleting the app, until I added a book I had already read (out of curiosity and simply playing with the functions of the app) and realized I had to be a member to even delete books out of my lists???? That’s outrageous in my opinion. Not at all worth it for me. I would consider paying for an app if it didn’t feel like I was required to. Take Duolingo for example: you get the basic functions of the app (language learning, in case anyone didn’t know) for free, then can choose to pay to erase ads, and have extra helpful features available to you. I didn’t feel like I was forced to pay, so I was more willing to. Moral is, if you’re willing to pay for this app, go ahead! It looks like it could be very helpful for any serious reader trying to digitally track their reading. I’m personally going to look for better options.

Lots of Improvement Needed. I don’t understand why this app has such high ratings. I feel like I was duped! I paid for the annual subscription and I wish I hadn’t so far. First: you have to manually add every book cover. Every one. That alone is awful. Exporting over a thousand books makes this a huge deal breaker. On top of the fact that you have to click on 3 different things do EVERY BOOK to add a cover EVERY TIME! Seriously, at least make it easier to edit if we have to do it ourselves. Second: there is some weird glitch where books without uploaded book covers shoes the cover of a random book that you have uploaded. So, for example, if I uploaded the cover for Stephen King’s IT but not the cover for Justin Cronin’s The Ferryman, The Ferryman will show all the correct book I for but it will show the cover of IT. Again, awful. Third: every time I open the app, I get an error that says “Uploading to iCloud failed” which is weird because all my books that I imported have been imported so I’m not sure what keeps failing but the error message is irritating and I have no idea how to fix it. Fourth: even though I paid for a subscription, they still want to charge you for everything…which wouldn’t bother me IF it was a great app to begin with but what the heck are they spending their money on because it is not to make this app better. Don’t waste your time on this.

i love it!. this app is amazing.. i feel like it gives me the motivation to read and i’m glad i downloaded it when i seen it come up on a tik tok ad. i had just gotten into reading i am a procrastinator at its finest. a lot like other apps i thought i was just going to download it forget to use it and slowly stop using it because i wasn’t consistent. although it was so much fun seeing how fast i was reading each page and how long it took me to finish each book. i also always lose my bookmarks and this app helps me keep track of what page i’m on! i also love that you can use your diamonds to change the icon! how cute!! :) i definitely recommend this app even if you don’t have the money to buy the premium version! i actually just got premium a few days ago and i’ve been reading with out it since may 7th! the pop ups for premium are kind of annoying and make sure if you put a book into it that u absolutely want to read because it wont let you delete it unless you get premium (thats why i got it) although i’m glad i did! it shows you more of your stats and gives you more drive! i only bought the 1 month becausei wasn’t sure i was going to like it although i will definitely be purchasing the yearly version because of how much more it offers! (its not crazy pricey)

Only useful if you’re willing to pay for premium. See below for my original review. I came back to the app because Shelbey of Shelbey and the Book Club/Store swears by it. I use it every day now so it’s worth the premium cost, but it was useless as a free app for someone who reads as much as I do. Current pet peeve is that the readathons don’t sync with the app so if you register using the Google forms they send out there is no update to the app that you are participating, and it should be integrated! I also wish you could read 1 book in multiple formats - sometimes I alternate a physical/ebook or try an audio version to get out of a funk and in those cases you’ll have to convert the page/percent completions yourself before entering in the app. ———————————-————————————— You can’t delete books without a premium account...what? I could barely even find the settings menu to delete my account. Within ten minutes of downloading I knew this was a bust. Disappointing!

download it, download it now. I used to be a very avid reader but found myself in a huge reading rut after graduating grade school 4 years ago. this year I really wanted to try to get back into reading but I really couldn’t find a way to keep myself motivated. I’m the the of person that needs to use some sort of log or tracker to stay on top of things so I figured that if I did that with reading, I would be more likely to keep reading. turns out I was absolutely right. I’m able to log how much time I read, how many pages I read, how many books, quotes, thoughts, I can set goals – there’s so much that I do that keeps me motivated and I absolutely will not read without using this app. I’m constantly motivated to read everyday and have been so successful in my want to get back into reading. I’m on my 17th book of the year since I downloaded it, pretty big for me since I’ve probably only read about 10 books in the last 4 years alone. my only thing I wish that the app had was a way for the user base to communicate internally through the app like some sort of community page. overall, I absolutely love this app and highly recommend it to anyone who is already an avid read or wants to become one.

Great way to track your reading!. I started using the app earlier this year and eventually upgraded, as it’s been such a helpful resource to help me track what I’ve read, what I’m reading, and what I want to read. I love that I can set my own goals for daily, monthly, and yearly reading. I was going through a reader’s slump for so long, so this has helped me get back into the groove. In addition to my own personal goals, there are occasional readathons, for chances to win prizes, which gives an extra boost for making it that much more fun and exciting. There are options to add notes, track new words, and add quotes from readings as well, which can then be turned into infographics once you’ve finished a book. The assistant is fantastic, helps keep you on track with goals, and there’s a cute selection of icons, characters, and more to make it a little bit more fun. While not everything results in an actual “prize” per se, this app has made it such a fun way to incentivize readers in so many different ways.

So far so good. I’ve been using Bookly for a week. Figuring out how to use it is easy. I think I am reading more now. I don’t care for it constantly asking you to post your reading progress to social media. I read for hours a day so it would be a nuisance to others. Plus it’s nobody’s business what I read. I wish you could turn it on and off. Maybe if you were in a reading group it would be useful keeping the others posted. But for everyday use it’s annoying. Update: I’m impressed, the developer replied telling me how to turn off the social media option. Perhaps I was a little unfair earlier. When the app asked me to review I had just finished my 3rd or 4th reading session that day and was exasperated with it constantly wanting me to post. It’s been a few days and I am truly enjoying the app. Too bad they can’t partner with Kindle to integrate into my Oasis. I’m definitely reading more and enjoying seeing my progress. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone wanting to keep track of their reading. I’ve updated my rating to 5 stars from 4.

Cool but…. Bookly is cool, it’s a nice app to track & store your library. A couple of things I wish were different though, for one I wish that the app would recognize the actual date you finished the book and not the date it was inputed. For example, I downloaded bookly just recently (later into this month) so, I included the books i’d already read for the month and their reading sessions, including the date it was completed but, bookly registers as completed with the date I updated it (I finished a book on Jan 5th, added the update in Jan 14th so now it shows the book was completed on Jan 14th). I know, it’s not a big deal but, it’d be nice for stats so it shows I completed books on multiple days throughout the month & not just the one I added the submissions. Secondly, i’d like to be able to change the layout of my uploaded books, the carousel is nice but i’d like to have my books in a list/small icons format like it does when you go into the categories section but.. on the main page if that makes sense. Overall the app is cool, I pay the subscription and I guess it’s worth it?

The update makes makes the difference. Edit update: the update makes this way more user friendly and I have little to know trouble with it, though I wish the were more rewards lol It won’t count any books that I read without this on in the back round and won’t count audiobooks either properly either of those get workers out this could be a fun way to keep track of all books from all book reading apps. Update: it’s able to track how many hours + pages read u just have to add by adding the hours each reading session ur self. The 50 diamond limit per reading session is kinda annoying u only get 4hr & 10mins worth of diamonds before it stops logging the points so if binge read 5-6 hour and want the diamonds for all of it u have to literally stop @ 4hr mark the restart. But I admit I am pretty much read to much and it would be so much easier to just collect the reading time in one go.

Can’t explain how much I love this app. Okay so I usually NEVER write reviews. Like this is literally my first one I’ve ever written but I just can’t say enough good things about this app. I used to hate reading. And by hate I MEAN HATE!!!! If I told myself from a year ago that I would be reading for hours on end I would have laughed in my face. Truly. With the help of this app I have developed the habit of reading—and I love it! I’ve had the app for about a month and have already finished 7 books, about 4000 pages in total. I would have never thought this would ever happen. Along with making me want to read, it helps me track my thoughts and feeling about books in ways like never before. I love the quotes and thoughts you can add while reading and also getting to add characters. It’s super helpful to have my thoughts organized and easy to look back on. I also love all of the stats they offer and think it’s so cool to see how fast I’ll read fiction books compared to books in my field of study. So many interesting things I’ve learned about myself and my reading habits. In conclusion PLEASE get this app. I’m not joking. If you read at ALL (even fan fiction💋) you need this app to track it. It’s so helpful and my fave app.

Awesome way to keep track of reading.. I adore this app and recommend it to everyone I know who likes reading. It helps me feel like I’m progressing through my long backlog of books I own but haven’t read yet. My two small complaints are that there’s no way to resort the order of collections, which would be very helpful as I have quite a few. Even if it was just alphabetical, at least that would make sense, rather than just in order of when you created it, as I’ve begun reading new genres since downloading the app over a year ago. Also, I wish that the quotes feature was reverse chronological, newest first, as I often like to use recent quotes in journals and have over 200 quotes. Besides those two things, which are small problems for me, I am obsessed with this app. I really like that it shows your speed of reading, and the weekly and monthly rundowns are very nice for remembering progress has been made. In over a year of using this app regularly, I’ve never had a bug or problem with it. Highly, highly recommend. P.S. This is not a venue in which to read ebooks, rather to track progress of books you own in other forms, as I’ve seen multiple rather rude reviews who seem to be misinformed on the subject.

Encouraging, Informative Tool for Reading. I’ve always been an avid reader, from a toddler whose punishment was to have her bookcase turned around, to a school aged kid who devoured all the books teachers threw at her to a college graduate with a BA in literature. Books are essentially my personality. But then a lot of real life happened, a lot of adult stuff and work stuff and mental health stuff that put me in the worst reading slump of my life. For the first time reading felt like a chore. In a last ditched effort to bring books back into my life I consumed as much BookTok and Bookstagram I could, I started my own LGBTQIA+ book club, bulked up my TBR, and introduced audiobooks into my life. But still I was looking for a single app that could not only track all my books, but also be used as an inventory, allow me to rate, and encourage me to read. Bookly is all of that and more! I love getting the reminders on my phone everyday to read. I love the infographics that are created after I finish a book. I love the goal visualization and the countdown of how many days I’ve read, and the fact I can listen to white noise all within the same app! Whether you are a seasoned reader or just trying to get into it, this book will support and encourage you with healthy reading habits with enough cuteness to keep you tethered!

Helped me come out of my months long hiatus!. I used to be a voracious reader and for YEARS I have been trying to get back into the swing of things. I have tried numerous book apps before but none of them stuck. Bookly has been the only one because the app is attractive and incredibly easy to use when tracking reading. The stats, surprisingly, are what keep me reading because I love seeing how my reading changes and improves. It has be working because I make it a necessary part of my routine. I sometimes even remind myself of needing to get a session in without a notification. Also the Pro version is insanely well priced but even if you didn’t have the funds (or want to buy it) you can get the majority of benefits with in app gems just from reading. So if you have tried or are needing a good reading app that cheers you on and gets you back into habit of reading, look no further!

Great App but... It's a fantastic app that has definitely encouraged me to read more. the features that allow me to contribute my ideas and book quotes are fantastic, and the noises that are offered for you to listen to are simply incredible. Since many items require payment for access, that is, to be honest, my primary issue. I understand having to pay for access to some things but to have to pay to delete books or be able to track more than 10 books bugs me. I'm okay with everything else, such as having access to the assistant or other stuff, I understand that. I appreciate the app, it’s incredibly useful and has got me reading more again. But not being able to delete books without paying us a bit annoying. I’m here are many books that I’ve put on there and had the intention of reading but then found other more interesting books that I can’t add. If you really like to read you can go through 10 books rather quickly. Other aspects, such as the inability to use dictation to type out quotes, ideas, and vocabulary terms, I find really great and have helped explain to others the different things about the book and share my thoughts without having to reread it. It annoys me the most because I can't delete a book once I've finished reading it, so any changes you could make there would be greatly appreciated.

Great app idea with very poor execution. I have been using the full (shockingly expensive) lifetime subscription of this app since the beginning of this year. The app is fun and it is vaguely achieving its purpose for me—but it absolutely does not live up to the sticker price for the full subscription. The quality and ease of use on the app is seriously lacking. It is neither smooth nor intuitive. The reading reports sometimes come an entire month late and I often get notifications for them several times even after I have viewed them. For some reason I can’t update my daily reading reminder time (I’ve tried changing it over and over and it always resets to the first time I set it to back in January). The input for audiobooks is woefully lacking and it has resulted in an inaccurate count of my reading progress so far this year. If I could get my money back, I would delete the Bookly app and use LibraryThing instead (which is free, has way cooler data, and is very straightforward). The best thing, by far, about this app is the white noise options on the reading timer page. This was the main reason that I went for the full subscription even though you can actually play all of the different sounds without even paying…

Great! Aside from a paywall for features and full screen ads.. Just found out about this app and thought I'd try it. Love the idea of stat tracking for reading. UI I think is well made and everything that the app is specifically designed to do I think is awesome. What's not so awesome is the business model. I understand needing ads for revune when you offer a free product, but full page ads are ridiculous especially when I simply want to just add a book. Secondly the price with what's locked behind the price. For such minuscule feature that do nothing more than expand what's already offered I see no reason why someone couldn't copy everything and, with what's offered for the pro version, and make it free. Or at the very least charge a one time fee. $30 a year for an app is pretty steep when I haven't read anything about the developers planning to add more content through the life of the app. Bug fixes don't count that's should be a given. There isn't anything the app offers that I couldn't do myself with a pen and paper, it's just math. Again I think the idea is great and I'd love to use it and would be willing to buy it once for a single rate fee. But with the ads that take over the entire screen, and simple, easily replicated features locked behind a paywall, it wasn't worth my continued use. If they decide to change their business model I would definitely give it another shot. Until then...I'll stick to doing everything the app offers myself but for free.

A little upset and annoyed. I downloaded this a few months ago but only started getting into using it this week. I did not realize that there was a limit in books and I had added books that I had already read just to rate them and keep track of what I’ve read in the past. Well, I started reading a book series this week and I had finished the first two and went to add the next book so I could start tracking it. I put in all the information in and went to add it but it wouldn’t let me unless I got pro. So I though that maybe I could delete the books that I read before I got the app. But of course I couldn’t unless I got pro, which is a load of bull crap. I’m very annoyed. I then thought maybe if I delete and redownload the app I could only add the books I’m currently reading but then I would lose all of the reading I had already done. Like I said I’m very annoyed, mad and upset. I’m only giving it three stars because I still think the app is great but mad about the book limit. I think the limit should be at least higher. Or at most 100 or something.

I Love Bookly…. I downloaded Bookly about a year ago and began using it for the first time. I didn’t sign up for the premium edition but am already pleased with the features it included and the pleasant user interface. I have tried a few reading tracker apps and quickly dropped them due to messy or hard to look at lay outs. Bookly doesn’t have this issue and while it is purely cosmetic in nature it is one of the most important aspects of an app. Many features of the Bookly app I haven’t been able to find elsewhere despite how basic some are. Bookly will attempt to calculate how long you will have to read in order to finish your book. If you add a desired end goal date it will tell you how much you should read to finish by time. You can create daily, monthly and yearly reading goals. You can also join “readathons” and have a personal assistant you can buy outfits for with diamonds (earned while reading.) I don’t use these features as much but I admire the Bookly team for adding them in as they differentiate the apps. The app’s icon has additional customizations in the shop available for diamonds as well. The main draw of Bookly is how they analyze your reading habits and what information they offer you. This information is locked behind the pay wall but after using Bookly I have no doubt my money, when I buy the subscription, is going to a good place and I will get my money’s worth.

Amazing app •*a issue with iOS widgets*•. Love the app and it’s even better that there are widgets. I have no complaints for the app itself, just download it, I have pro as well, and it’s so helpful having the assistant. Though, with the widget feature there is an issue for me. I know the brand is a blue color, but when my whole iPhone aesthetic is different colors and my Bookly widgets are a bright blue, it gets annoying. Also as reader that doesn’t base progress on time I read. Yes, I like to track it and see if I’m getting faster, but especially since each book has bigger/ smaller pages or more/less words, I don’t compare pages to time. Therefore, having the only widget options be the average TIME I read this week, the amount of TIME I read this week, and/or the amount of time it takes, is a little disappointing for me. My main suggestion is to maybe add a few more color variety. But, MAINLY adding page progress to the widgets. Seeing my progress in pages is what motivates me and only being able to see that in my bullet journal is kinda sad. This is just a personal pet peeve and is definitely not something that makes me dislike the app more.

Adorable and almost perfect. I really like using Bookly and would probably pay for and use it forever if there were two major differences: 1. Tracking of audiobooks is a little clunky. It would be nice if you could input their total time the way you can input the total page count for a physical book. Then, when you use the timer it would actually track your progress in the book and the cute infographics would have more meaning. 2. I wish there were a social component. Goodreads is such a disappointment and I would love to have an app where I can track what I read and see what my friends are reading, too. Maybe we could challenge each other to reading sprints or recommend books to each other. It would also make having all those adorable little costumes for Bloo more fun because then someone else would be seeing them. That being said, I think the app is super user friendly and I love that I can add widgets to my home screen and watch.

Great for encouraging more reading. I saw this app via IG and was immediately intrigued. I love reading but don’t make the time to like I should. This app has made me consistent and excited again about reading regularly. The stats are fun to share and I like how you can edit the details of the book as needed. My favorite features are being able to snap pics of quotes I read and highlight them, add my notes and comments and list the page number and the daily pop up reminder to read. Love it! I purchased a year subscription pretty quickly but was surprised to see that it doesn’t sync across devices. Very odd. Sometimes I’m reading an actual book other times on my iPad or phone. Was very frustrated not to be able to pick up across devices. Oddly there is no log in, hence maybe why no syncing.? It’s tied to a device? I’d also suggest being able to put in Roman numerals when you stop the app and need to list your page number. Some book introductions are a bit lengthy and usually label those pages with Roman numbers. I spend time reading towards my goal on a new book but couldn’t enter my page number accurately. That bothers the data nerd in me! Overall, I highly recommend this app if you want to level up your reading and be consistent.

Helped me back into reading!. This is probably the only app review I’ve ever left out of just sheer desire to do so because I absolutely love this app. I used to be a huge reader, and of course, life kinda got in the way, and I found myself really missing that sense of adventure and excitement that books used to bring me. I also didn’t particularly like the idea of reading on my phone, and I usually used that as an excuse to not read as much. One of many, at least. Not enough gas to get to the library, oh I forgot to stop by the book store, my phone’s never charged, I just don’t have time, blah blah blah. And then I can’t remember what made me download Bookly, but now I’ve read three books so far this year AND joined two book clubs 😅 Keeping up with my reading and trying to reach my goal every day (there’s my competitive side) has been the kickstart I needed to regain the passion I once had for books and literature. Thank you guys! My only critique, and I do understand that it just is what it is, but I do wish Bookly pro was free 😭 I’m sure it’s worth it, and hopefully I will one day be able to afford it, but ya win some ya lose some, huh?

Amazing Reading Tracker!. I just started using this useful app and I am already hooked. It is free and easy to use. You can make reading sessions for how long you want AND you can make personal thoughts, quotes, and commentary you want to quickly jot down whilst reading. To help you focus more, this app provides ambient sounds in the background, such as peaceful raining outside. It easily tracks how much time you have read, what days you have read, if you have reached your goal, and much, much more. It’s crazy how convenient and practical this app issues to your daily reading life. It also tracks when you want to finish the book and how much books you want to read in a year. I, personally, recommend this Reading Tracker App because of its beneficial use from personal experience. I will continue to read and track the joys of my reading path!

Great for ADHDers!. I am a college student who has very bad ADHD and I struggle to read all the time. Bookly is amazing because of the features you can use during your reading session! I really love listening to the rain noise when I’m reading because it helps me focus. I am currently reading for a book for the first time in over a month, and I read for an hour and fifteen minutes. It’s really helpful. Additionally, Bookly also has a discord server where you can meet other book lovers, and do challenges! Each month they host a Book of the Month event with each month being a different theme, and this month’s theme is murder mysteries! I HIGHLY recommend this app. It doesn’t force you to read every day, and when you do read you get experience and can level up. It’s a great app for people who struggle to focus during reading, and need an app that can help guide them into reading more but not direct them if that makes sense!

This app saved me from reading slumps.. I started using bookly in the beginning of this year and I have used it everyday since. I love being able to see my “reading streak” and seeing how quickly I read. I have the basic version of bookly but it still is completely helpful and if you don’t want the extra features, I’d say to just use the free version. Bookly has a cool system of payment called “gems” were you earn them by reading and you can use them to purchase a bunch of different things. There’s also “readathons” which have requirements for books that you can earn real gift cards from (this is technically a premium feature but I do the reading on free and I plan on purchasing the premium to be able to redeem my rewards)! I would recommend bookly to anyone who either wants to keep track of their reading or wants to finally get through that TBR. Never have a reading slump again with bookly!

Great app! Looking forward to improvements. This is a great app! Easy to use, clean displays, nice and simple. I've only used it for a couple of books but it really motivated me to make time for a hobby that I don't have as much time for anymore. I tend to have a slower reading pace than most, so the infographics were pretty interesting. And it's great being able to see the progress I'm making, especially when I'm reading a 700+ pg book. There was a tiny bug I noticed when I had to delete an incorrectly recorded reading session (that was my fault), and the page numbers on the page for the book's overall info and the page for the book's reading sessions didn't sync up right. Nothing that's too much of a problem, but it just bothered me a bit. It'd be nice to get that fixed. Also, I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and that's hard to keep track of on here. I figure I can just mark them as "read in the past," since the app wasn't designed for audiobook listening and etc, but it'd be great if for "read in the past book" there was an option to just quickly put in what day you finished the book, or perhaps which days you were reading it. But that's about it. Overall this is a great app! I definitely regret not getting it earlier tbh.

Pretty Cool App. I was looking for a reading journal for a while and this is the only one I’ve been enjoying so far. I have the premium version which is really the only way to use the app because the 10 book limit is not nearly enough. The search feature is nice but I wish it worked more regularly because even when for surely connected to the internet, it will sometimes just not cooperate. Another side note is that books you read before getting the app don’t count towards your page count stats even if the dates input are for this year, but I guess that’s okay cause there’s no previous data for it in their system. Also a suggestion would be for the “add word” feature, it’s be nice if it would provide a definition of the word from the web or something of the sort. The interface works quite well (with Premium) and I will continue to use it in the future. Overall a good paid app that I’d recommend over a physical reading log due to ease of access. Thanks.

Who came up with such great idea!. I needed something to know how many pages of a book I'm reading a day and track the progress of the book. Initially, I was using stopwatch and writing the minutes and pages down manually, but then I found this app and it made everything simple and easy. Really loved the idea of this app! You think about something and there is an app for that. I like so much about this app from the layout to colors, feel and esthetics. Visual data and graphs help me track my progress and encourage me to read more everyday. Finding titles online is really handy, you don’t need to fill up author name and title info or take the cover photo. For the future updates, we would love to see if there is something we could link this app with Goodreads. Now, there is something I don’t like, the pattern of subscription. How something so simple is a monthly subscription service? I understand that there are engineers constantly working on it, but there should be at a way to pay one time and may be get some extra features. Since I'm not a heavy book reader, I would not subscribe and then forget about it and keep paying for something I’m barely using. However, I would love to support the app if there is some onetime buying feature may be with just few extra features like the option of adding 10 more books. Again, thanks to the team for such great app and their work.

Love this app! But the monthly subscription is kinda pointless to me. I have just began to love reading again but was always curious of a few things. How long it takes me to read a page. If I set a goal how long/ much do I have to read per day to achieve that goal. And plenty more. This app does that exactly. I’ve come to realize that overtime my reading becomes quicker and all. And I have never been able to finish books in such short times before. But now using Bookly I can read the recommended amount per day or more (usually more since I’m hooked) and I will finish a book in about a month for the first time! The only thing I would really just complain about is the subscription that’s a pricey amount just to have unlimited books and extra features. When in reality Bookly already satisfies me thankfully. I don’t know I just don’t see a point signing up for the subscription when I’m already pleased. To whoever is reading this, have fun reading! And accomplishing things way easier:)

Not as good as it used to be.. I like having ways to track habits and Bookly is a great way of tracking my reading. I like how the shows me the current percentage I am we in a book and can give me estimated reading time left as well as per day reading allotments to finish a book by a specified deadline. I have been using Bookly for a little over a year and some of the recent changes have made me enjoy it less, however. The data it provides is still good, but the user interface has gotten much worse. Now, whenever I end a reading session, I have to click through multiple screens to get back to my main shelf. I just want to be done. I don't need to see streaks and gifts (I have never cared about earning diamonds for outfits for the mascot). I have to click three or four times before I can just go back to my home screen and that's with a Pro account. I wish I had an option to turn these off or for them just to go back to the way it was until a few months ago.

Greatly improved! (Update). (Updated Review) Many changes have taken place since my last review and I really think they have put effort into making adjustments that have certainly improved the app. Although i believe there's always room for improvements, I really haven't faced any issues with the app and all the features I could have considered nice-to-have/ useful have been implemented Thank you very much for listening to your users. -------------------- I really needed something besides Goodreads to keep my books organized while at the same time being able to bookmark where I left at. The addition of "quotes" and "thoughts" is perfect since it allows me to add any extra notes as i read. The app just launched and generally is great. (Love the design btw) However, it is still kind of limited and rigid. I see that the books have a set amount of pages when you add them, but it should be taken into account that the total amount of "pages" change depending on the format and device that the book is read on. Also, why is there no option to edit the pages you have read? Pretty much.. *Add an option to change the amount of "total pages" in the book *Allow us to edit the pages that have been "read" *Implement a timer - not a stopwatch (like the current one) - that allows to set a certain amount of time we want to read for.

Excellent App. I love this app more than I thought I would! I don’t even mind paying the subscription for the extra ratings and more books. I even enjoy the reading session timer which I didn’t think I would use because I didn’t download this app to try and read more I read plenty. That being said there still isn’t a book app that does what a bookworm would love for it to do. The carousel on the homepage is annoying and I would like it better if I could just catalogue my books (especially on a little bookshelf I could organize because the collections in this app are great!!) and mark which ones I own (there is a borrow/lent feature but I would like to see which books I have so I don’t accidentally buy them again which I have done 😅) also as much I love the info graphic I would like to see my reviews and thoughts more. Then I could share it with more meaningful info than how many pages I read. I like seeing the stats but I don’t think my friends care that I read a page a minute. I would like an overall thoughts because I love the reflection but maybe like a comment section with my rating.

Loved it until my reading progress was ERASED. I have downloaded a number of books apps, and really felt that this app was going places. There are some features like Goodreads, such as the book challenges and tracking how far you've read. But what I liked about Bookout was being able to keep track of how long I'd taken to read a book and the average number of pages per session. Those analytics were so helpful and fun. Unfortunately, it seems like this app can't be trusted to actually log your progress. I finished a book a day ago and not only in input it as 100% read, I marked it as completed. The app even gave me the badge of completion for finishing the book. Imagine my surprise when I opened the app just now and discovered that my last reading session and progress with the book has been completed wiped! It's infuriating and irritating. Furthermore, as someone who paid to unlock features and support the developers, it's disheartening.

Great for keeping track of your goals!. I stumbled upon Bookly at the beginning of 2021 when I was looking for a way to help maintain and reach my reading goal for the year. I started using Bookly and fell in love with how I can keep track of the books I’ve read, put them into collections, set goals for the day and month and more! Being able to see how long a book can take me to finish is great once I start it since keeping time within the app helps determine my reading speed and estimates everything. I didn’t anticipate how useful this would be along with how satisfying seeing number of pages and hours read total. It’s soooo satisfying! I do wish there was a way to sign up for readathons within the app and track that time separately - like if you’re signed up those hours you read during the day are automatically tallied to the readathon. Having the ability to do readathons with friends would be fun too! Overall I LOVE this app!

Stay on track for reading!. I love to read but always got stuck in the rut of saying I don’t have time or feeling overwhelmed when taking on a new book. I downloaded at least 20 other reading apps to all try to find one to get me to stay focused and on task from start to finish. I found that Bookly was by far my favorite. After testing the free version for a week, I gave in and bought the lifetime pro subscription. I was able to finish a 500pg book in 11 days because of this app. When you enter a finish by date, it gives you an estimate on how much you should read each day to complete the book on time. Love seeing all the stats. Some improvements: 1) add a place to put publication date to book 2) have feature to sort books alphabetically when looking at the “All Books” section. It only sorts them by when they were added so it can make it hard to find books if searching by title only

Wonderful App. Last year as I was struck with the virus in March and also facing the fact that because I travel for a living I knew things would change. I love to read but wanted a way to track what I read, collect shots of things I’ve highlighted, or quotes in the book and this app does it all. Nice reminders to yourself to read. Goals you can set for the year and monthly to help push yourself to read and complete what you start. What has been interesting is not only what I’ve read but what I stopped reading. So last year Bookly helped me to track that between March 1 and December 31 I read 55 books. It’s a great app and I’ve recommended it to friends and family members who love to read. If I have one complaint is that in the rating system you can’t award “half” stars because sometimes things are four and a half stars and other times they are just a half star, but this app gets a full five stars

Amazing app but…. Don’t get me wrong it’s a very good app and it’s definitely got me reading a lot more. Like the features to add my thoughts and quotes from book it’s amazing and the sounds that are provided for you to listen to are just spectacular even though I can only afford the free one. To be honest my main problem is the fact lot of the things is pay for access. Everything else I’m fine with is like the access to the assistant or the other things yeah OK I get that but the thing that bugs me the most is the fact that I can’t add more than 10 books and I can’t delete books. Because I don’t wanna a book that I just finished to just be taking space when I could add another book but I can’t delete it is only for pro. I respect the hustle but you at least let us non-pro people be able to delete books. There are other features that bug me like I can’t use diction to type out quotes, thoughts, and vocabulary words and I have to manually type it out. The fact that I can’t delete a book after I finish reading it most definitely bugs me the most so if you could just change that a little bit would be greatly appreciated. But don’t it let you stop from download the app because if you wanna become a reader I think it’s a really good app to helps you in a pretty fun except for that one annoying feature. But you know that’s my opinion and you have yours so yeah.

Enjoyable!. This app is my favorite reading tracker to date and even once in a while has book marathons that you can participate in to win prizes (which i wish happened more often). The only reason this book isn’t full 5 stars is because you need to pay to use this app. The app makes you delete after you reach a capacity of 5 books and it feels only free as a trial run. After that it’s 5$ a month! Which to me is pretty steep, I wish it was a one time payment of 10$ or something to that capacity. I do pay for the app but I wish there was a student option for 1-3$ to help out college or even high school students. There are also diamonds that you earn in the game for reading and completing goals that I wish you could do more with besides just buy app appearances. Maybe include gift cards or a one month off coupon because after a while you just start accumulating diamonds that prove useless. But overall, this app has a lot of useful tools and in depth personal reading statistics that makes reading more fun for me and encourages me to read more by beating my previous stats! I often find myself referring this app to friends, with the precautions mentioned above.

I love this app. This app is great for avid readers who just like to read and keep track of books read. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who is a note taker. That said, the Quote, Thought, and Word Definitions features are great. I do pay for Pro; the free version is decent to use if your goal is to track your reading and add books. That’s about it. You can’t delete books, or see your infographics without pro. There is very little you can do without pro, actually. Alas, with my having the pro version, I love this app. I love the basic elements that are easily laid out, allowing me to keep focus on the book I’m reading and not be distracted by the complicated features most other apps seem to use. I can easily add a quote or thought, or look up a word definition and enter it without much thought at all; it’s all on the same page. I love the Store, being able to earn diamonds to buy app covers or new “assistant” skins. I am a bit disappointed that you don’t earn some small amount of diamonds when you complete an Achievement. I feel like we’re a bit jipped out of currency there, as you can only earn diamonds by reading (specifically how long you read each session). Overall, I think this is a great app to have, especially if you’re just getting back into reading for fun.

Great! Even just using the free version.. I was looking for an app to simply count my pages per day read but this does so much more! FOR FREE! Ya there’s a pro version and I may eventually want to get it but the free version lets you track pages, time read, & pages to go. Also let’s you see the % of the book you’ve read so far AND if the app incorrectly has the number of total pages of the book, you can edit that as well. Also there is a little white noise feature with a few different options. You can jot down thoughts, quotes from the book, give yourself a countdown timer, and take note of a new word you learned & the definition. ALL FOR FREE!!!! You can earn gems (points) too by reading or watching ads and you can edit the icon of the app (yes I watched like 20 ads to change the icon to the one I liked best). Overall, I love it! You can also use the earned gems to add books to track in the app since the free version starts with only giving you 10 books you can track. 10/10 recommend

Great App. I’m a bookstagrammer and the ability to share a graphic with my stats per book (including a star rating) is great. I also love the option to add essentially digital annotations, as I hate writing in books but sometimes just need to put a note in. The feature of being able to group books is great for organising my tbr. Plus, knowing how long it’s going to take me to finish a book is a lifesaver some days. They have an option for audiobooks too. Honestly the only thing I was really missing with just the free version was some stats like a weekly report and the ability to delete books. Not sure what the ten book limit is (unstarted? Reading at once?) though so I can’t comment on that. They run offers fairly often for discounts on Bookly pro, which lead me to try it. It’s fairly cheap annually to start but at just over a dollar a month I tried it and definitely love the extra features.

Reading Streak Changes Between Time Zones. I realize that most people may not have this problem but as part of a military family, I move a lot and it can be from coast to coast. Bookly does not keep it so that a reading session on a specific day in a specific time zone remains that way. If you start a reading session overnight at 11pm but then move from the west coast to the east coast (3 hour time difference), Bookly will say that you missed a day of reading because you started that reading session at 2am the next day. As a paying Bookly Pro customer who has been tracking my stats for YEARS, doing daily reads, and who works night shift so my hours are wonky and I read a lot overnight, it is so irritating to see my progress get messed up. If it really mattered to you, you have to go back and manually change the dates yourself. This is ridiculous to do if you’ve been using Bookly since 2019 and reading daily, like I have. There should be some kind of timezone lock so that your stats don’t get messed up.

I’m definitely reading more!!. I got the app yesterday morning and no joke read for FIVE HOURS then. Not all at once of course, I took break, but it tracked all the times I read and added it so I could see exactly how long I read that day, THANK YOU!!

Swapping tv time to reading time. This app has been super motivating to actually read. It actively encourages me to hit certain reading goals. It has helped me watch less tv and swap it for a better habit like reading. Listening to classical music while I read has also added to the experience.

Great app for book lovers!. This app is so fun to use and has helped me get excited to read again after a long time of not being able to. It’s got a great format, and i highly recommend it, especially if you’re wanting to track how much you’re reading!

Bad customer service and some features don’t work. Bought this app last year. Was enjoying app and had paid for yearly subscription. All of books I read and summarised I tried to back up and download but app was not working properly. Was advised by Bookly to reset. I did this and lost all of my summaries from all books. I waited a month for them to resolve this issue with a fix which was never done. I then didn’t feel safe using this app again so requested a refund and was directed to apple. Apple does not let you request refund if over 2 months so I lost my money and just cancelled app. Would not recommend

Useful. I really enjoy it the ads are slightly annoying but getting Bookly Pro for a year whilst on sale was fairly cheap and useful. It’s helped me keep on track with my reading and is really easy to use. And I honestly enjoy looking at my stats. I highly recommend this app.

Best reading app I’ve used so far!. I have tried soooo many different apps to track my reading and this is by far the most in depth one I have been able to find

very handy. I love being able to track my reading session, makes meeting my daily goals much easier. I adore the info graphics at the end too and I’ve found it to be super user friendly

Great to see Reading Habits. Love the fact that I can time my reading and see my reading speed. Also helps me remember my place in a book without a bookmark. The streaks, points and goals help motivate me to keep reading. Only downside is I need to have my phone on me to read anything or I feel I have wasted reading time.

Like a fitness app, but for books!!!. The idea of tracking your reading is amazing! The brain needs training too, and I find that this app gives goals that I want to complete!

Great for tracking your reading!. I'm a new user, but I love the stats it gives you about your reading and the books you've read, and the fact it isn't a social app takes away the pressure

Such a great app!. In my opinion there is nothing like the app, the design and the idea is really awesome. I have just gotten into reading and the app really motivates me, it’s cool to see my progress on books, the ability to add new words and thoughts, and even how much time I’ve been reading. I love the little awards you can collect by reading using the pp as well. I would definitely recommend the pro version especially if you use it on multiple devices, it’s definitely worth it and I will use it for a long time to come.

Good app. Great app for keeping track of reading but I don’t like subscribing to too many services. Subscribing isn’t compulsory but it is necessary if you want to keep using the app as you can’t delete books and you have a limit of 10. I would prefer if there was a lifetime subscription option so I didn’t have to keep track of another subscription.

Amazing App!!! Got me into reading Daily. This app helped me keep up my reading habit and come from a point of not enjoying to read much at all or at least very seldom. To a point of reading every day and loving it. Thanks heaps Bookly. Love how I can quickly jot down my favourite quotes from the book I’m reading so I can go back and pull it up later when it comes into a conversation context. Same goes for finding the definition to new words I find. Simply amazing. Thank you for an awesome app😁🙏🏽❤️

Really helps with Motivation to Read! 💞. This app really helped me keep track on my book pages and organised my books. This actually motivates for me to read because of how fun this app is to use! 💗 I wouldn’t be reading right now if it wasn’t for Bookly. Not only it motivated me to read ever since I started reading, my grades have been going up! I really recommend Bookly if you want to improve on your grades, started reading and try a new hobby! 💗💗💗

Love it. Im really enjoying this app. Its simple and straight forward and has plenty of features! It would be good if you could have ‘chapters’ as a reading goal and not just ‘pages’ and ‘minutes’. As well as being able to pause the reading timer on the lock screen and not having to unlock my phone every time to do so

Great app!. I love Bookly, it has really helped me get into a routine of reading and it’s really great for showing progress. I didn’t give it 5 stars as I believe that the Pro version is too expensive and locks out too many things. Other than that, great app!

Okay app. I downloaded under the impression that this would be a great app but was quite disappointed. Most of the features require you to purchase Pro. You can only have 10 books in your library and you can’t delete them unless you pay for pro. I was quite disappointed with how this app works.

Incredible app!. This app is great for readers who need a little more help or even advanced readers! The library has hundreds of books so you’ll never not find your book! The login reward makes you determined to read every day. I especially like the character design and the diamonds system, reading every day to unlock more diamonds and being able to dress my character up however I want to! There’s so many more activities I don’t even know where to begin! Even after reading the book/books you can still unlock achievements, see infographics and so much more! I definitely recommend this app to anyone who reads.

Great app but one bad thing. The app itself is fantastic! a few very helpful features are locked behind a paywall and the app doesn’t have ads so i get e have to make money somehow and that fine! the only feature i wish they would make free is deleting books because now i have to pay to delete a book i made twice by accident. overall a pretty great app!

Bookly. I love using this app I only got it the other day and I have already improved on my reading, my friend and I love using it now every time we read we put the timer on and see who reads the most. The only bummer is the subscription fee we both don’t have the money to spend on it and we honestly just don’t need it but I would still love to be able to have what is apart of the subscription. But overall an amazing app

Great app to keep you on track. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in keeping track of their reading habits and to view stats to see how much their reading improves. Bookly has been the much needed motivation to be consistent with my reading

Incredible App!. This app is so helpful when it comes to keeping up with my own reading goals. It also lets you add characters, quotes and thoughts to help you better remember previous books you have read. It generates a summary of all of the information you put in to allow you to better remember as well. 5/5 app! Recommend anyone to download this who loves reading.

Pretty Good. Pretty good way of tracking your reading time and amount of pages read in an hour. However, it doesn’t have a feature to be able to write a review about what you read,

Awesome app for book lovers. Love this app. Worth the money. If your a book lover. Than this is an app for you. Love how you can set a timer and read, that it tells you how long it will take you to finish the book. Definitely give it a go.

Great app to track and enhance my reading. I wanted to see if I could improve my reading stats to more books per week/month. Through using this on the premium feature I find it really worthwhile to have so can see how long I have left in a book or just add a quick thought.

Brilliant. This app really encourages me to read every day and accurately tracks my pages. The infographics are really interesting to see trends in your own reading. I do keep getting a pop up for the “subscribe to the mailing list” milestone, which is vaguely annoying.

Love the app!. I’ve been wanting to gain a better reading habit for awhile now. Getting off mindless scrolling of tiktok, etc. This is a great app to use to track how much I’m reading and giving me motivation! Highly recommend. 💕

Love the content, but.... I love the app and the way it looks. Super easy to use and I like that I can time my reading sessions and all the cute info graphics. But Why can’t there be a one-off payment to use all the features of the app instead of a subscription? I would happily pay for the app, but I’m not going to pay $50/year (AUD) to have more than 10 books on my list.

Such a good app. Bookly is a reading app that is fun and easy to navigate. I have tried to find ones better, but they are all difficult to find your way through. It’s a shame you have to go premium for more than ten books though.

Apart from adverts for the pro, it’s great.. It’s a really cool way to keep digital bookmarks for your in progress books (I don’t know a single reader who sticks to one at a time) It works well as a goal setting and managing app. The only downside I’ve reached so far is the ads for pro that come up like every second button I press, I’m sure that the added features are worth the money but I don’t spend on that stuff.

Great app. I love this app, it’s nice to see all the stats. I would suggest just doing it for a month first to see how you like it. I paid for a yearly subscription but have now tired of trying to record my sessions. Would be a great tool to help with any reading challenges you have like 24in48 etc.

Talia Piffero. This app is amazing and I use it a lot. My one this is that when I actually tap start reading I can’t cancel it and have to fill out the thing about my progress. It’s a small complaint but it really annoys me when this happens. Over all, wonderful app

Worthwhile for book lovers. I have only had the app for a few days but have found I’ve been reading more since I downloaded it and been aiming to achieve reading goals. It’s a great way to keep track of my reading patterns

I use it every time I read - no exceptions!. I love love love this app! I’m still relatively new to using Bookly but it’s been so much fun to track my reading habits. If you’re like me and love reading, and statistics, this is 100% the perfect app for you. I’m 27 and have been using technology for the vast majority of my life and this is maybe the third app I’ve EVER spent money on. I’ll always get lite versions or just not get an app because they aren’t worth it or I won’t remember to use it. Not the case for Bookly, the minute is heard about it I knew I’d be getting the full version. It really adds another dimension to reading and to be completely honest, I thought I read a lot more that what I actually do, so with that knowledge, I’ve spent more time dedicated to reading to get my streak up. They also have readathons! I took part in the one that ran over Halloween! I felt so encouraged to read my allotted hours to finish the challenge I ended up going WAY over and I love it!! Really awesome app! Very well done and they are still adding new things all the time, in the recent update, you can now add characters and stuff! Looking forward to checking that out. 10/10 highly recommend for fellow book worms

Great for Bookworms. Getting Bookly was such a great idea for me. I’d been wanting something to entice me to read more - my TBR pile just kept increasing but I had no motivation to read any of them. But Bookly helped me keep motivation to read, trying to keep up my streak and also allowing me to space out reading so I can finish by a certain time. I love it.

Good app for people who don’t like reading. I litteraly hated reading but instantly after getting this app I have read more than I have in 3 years in a afternoon, I’m finally getting through a book I started ages ago!

Bookly excellent for reading goals. Bookly is a good app in keeping up with your reading goals. Highly recommend anyone who is a lover of books to get Bookly as a way to motivate & look back at the books you’ve read in the past

Fantastic Reading Motivation. As a young person (17) with ADHD, reading books, or a singular book be it, is so hard. Bookly genuinely motivates me, even when I didn’t have Bookly pro, I was motivated to pick up my book every night and read, as it helps me create a plan to get it finished by a date, and breaks it down for you, so you can understand that the reality is that reading a book doesn’t take that long, depending on the way you break it up, which is what Bookly helps you do. Highly recommend, great app!

Bookly. Love this little app! A great way to keep track of all the books I read throughout the year and encourages me to get off my phone to read during my spare time

Great App!. I have been using this app for several months now and I really enjoy it! The free version is perfectly usable and it makes tracking your reading easy and enjoyable! I would definitely recommend this app for all readers 😊

No app support?. I tired to go to app support but it just took me to the website. I accidentally marked a book as finished and now I can neither change that to reading now nor can I change how many pages I have read. Basically, there is no point to use this book for my daily reading time, since I would have to use a different app to time it and then go back to this one to say I read to my goal and even then I can’t put in pages.

Very helpful. This app is a great help for me as I am a very fast reader but until using Bookly I had no idea just how fast I read. Only unfortunate thing is that I can’t delete books unless I have pro. I feel like having this option for people who don’t have pro would be good, as sometimes I don’t finish books and would like to delete them but can’t. Other than that it’s a brilliant app! Would absolutely recommend to other people who like to read

Perfect for readers who lack structure. For me, Bookly is pure magic! Whether I read 5 minutes or 20 minutes, all the reading gets tracked. I have full confidence that every little bit of reading I do is progress towards my goal. It is especially helpful for reading multiple books at a time. I prefer to have a rotation of 3 or 4 books on different topics. It's probably because I read a lot of non fiction, so the writing can be a little dry at times. With Bookly, I can easily switch between books and pick up right where I left off.

All in all good app but with its faults. It’s a great app if you pay for pro but the free version is simply not worth it. With the free version I do acknowledge that it’s free for a reason but so many features are disabled. You only get ten books in your library and you can’t delete books in the library and Even with pro you cannot reread a book without losing all you data. I do like the rain noise option though and the timers I find useful.

An awesome app!. I absolutely love this app! It has allowed me to be consistant with my reading goals and add quotes, thoughts and definitions when I read a book. Normally I would have to write those down on notes on my phone. The only thing I would suggest is to have the option of re read. It would be great to be able to re read a book and input new thoughts that you come across and being able to compare that to when you read the book for the first time.

Surprising handy and motivating. Did not expect myself to be using this app so much. As someone who likes to organise/track every part of their life I’ve found great use in this app from the reminders, the tracking, the visual display and mostly the encouragement and added motivation to read. Bought pro and have been enjoying the added features especially the Infograph’s and data im able to extract on completion. Recommended, especially if you’re on the spectrum and have trouble reading.

Good app. I just got it but it’s really nice. The app is easy to use and helpful in tracking your book progress. I love the format and the comments you can say about the books you want to write your opinion on.

Bookly. Love the app and I’ve only just downloaded it! I can already tell it’s going to be a fun way to keep me up to date with my reading schedule and help to keep me on track to reaching my goals.

Please add rereads.. Please add a reread feature! If you want to reread a book you have already read on the app you have to completely delete the book and start again. In the process loosing any thoughts or quotes you saved from the first read. There should be a way to read a second time without loosing all data from the book or adding the same book twice. A simple ‘read again’ button that resets the progress tracker to 0% or 0 pages would make this app just a little bit more user friendly. Especially if you are a paying customer.

Amazing app!. I enjoyed using this app a lot and it helped me record how much I red per day and week. It kept me updated on how much I read and made me keep reading. It got me out of my reading block and helped me lots! The only annoying this is that not all the book covers are up to date so sometime you have to look them up or take a photo to get a cover for your book. Besides that it was an awesome and I definitely recommend to everyone who enjoys reading or is stuck atm and needs yo start reading again!

Bookly. So far i like the app i just got it today i dont know how to add my minutes though but thats okay i will figure it out.

I like it but. Crashed and lost all my books and streaks, and crashed again whenever I tried to sync from iCloud :( I started over

Overall good. A little confusing to use at first

💚🧡💚🧡. i love is so so much🫶

Awesome. Bookly makes me want to read more and is super easy to use even without paying money

This is so cute. This app is so unique and creative. This is a great way to keep track of your books. 100% recommend.

Great reading assistant. I love this app!

Helps me with lazy era:). This app is pretty good with reminding me to read everyday. I can also keep track of all the books that I’ve read. Would be better if they consider adding a feature that allows you to add in reading sessions that you forgot to use the app for ig.

!!. yasss

Good app. I enjoy the app, frustrating that their is a book limit though

Great. Really enjoying this app

This app is a stunner. Real

Amazing way to keep track of books!!!. Bookly has helped me so much because I wanted to read books before but never had the motivation, so now I can read for fun!!!

I love using Bookly. It really helps me track the books that I’ve read and has pushed me to read more with the daily reminders.

The Bible. This is a very good book 📕 for everyone to read

Perfect for my needs. An app that does exactly what I need it to. Tracks reading, provides incentives and the ability to set genuine goals.

can’t change pg numbers. the free version is pretty good for tracking all things, so i imagine the “pro” is even better? i just don’t love that you can’t change how many pages are in the book, or at least i haven’t figured it out! ex, someone said it had 850 pgs when it really only had 600 so it’s saying i’m only 40% done when i’m actually closer to 60%

Could be great. There’s so much I love about this app! If only it worked. Unfortunately it crashes constantly and just straight won’t add any books sometimes and others just deletes them for no reason.

Great app !! Really easy to use!. The app was really easy to use and I love being able to see the books I’ve read. 🩷

Simply the best for tracking my lecture sessions. Very nice and easy to use. I love to be able to see the time I spent reading a book and the news features are amazing. The only thing I would change is the price of the inscription for the PRO option. The advanced option are very useful but pricey.

Neat App. Great way to motivate and track my reading.

Bookly. Amazing app

Books. Good reading app

An engaging way to read.. I am hooked! It’s a great way to motivate you to read.

Helped me get back into reading. If you like to read and are slightly competitive this is for you. The tracking of how long it takes you to read the book and other statistics help me to stay on track.

Read tracker. I love this app, though it’s hard if you read randomly throughout the day and don’t have the app actively running.

Doesn’t work anymore.. Used to love this app. Then paid for it to get the premium version. Since payment has gone through the app has stopped working. It no longer recognizes books through scanning. Nor can it search by name. Now you can only add books manually. Feeling scammed:(

Really enjoy the app. very easy to use and i like the background music

Iceberg. Amazing! Couldn’t put it down

Amazing!. Great app to help me keep track of my current and past reads!

Great app for people obsessed with tracking stuff. I like the app for tracking my reading. But please could you fix the reading reflections page. On my iPhone 7 the box for typing is obscured by my keyboard pop up so I can’t read what I’m noting down. There’s no way to scroll the page so the text box sits further up on the screen.

Great. Love that Bookly keeps me accountable to my reading goals. The desire to keep my reading streak gets me to make more time for reading. Would be nice to be able to add friends and have some friendly competition

Just starting and wow’ed. Coming from GoodReads but GR felt like work and removed some joy of reading. Now I get to hang out with Bloo, unlock costumes, and what I really wanted was accountability and great statistics. Wow! Bookly nails that. Widgets are great too, instead of just a checklist I feel motivated to add quotes, words and characters and I have an iPhone page of widgets that will keep it all fresh in mind and build my adventure. Can’t wait to get Pro after I have some more time to explore and see what all is in the app!!

Love it!!. Such a great app to keep track of my reading and keep me reading!! Love to see all of the books I’ve read. Definitely recommend!!

Amazing tracker. A great way to keep track of book stats

Reading Companion. Enjoy using this and encourages me to read every day

Bookly. Very good

Me before you. Loved it

Amazing book tracker. For the monthly fee it's so worth it and super convenient to have everything all in one app!

Good!. I love this app because it tracks your reading!

Slay. Great I love reading

Get it!. Love it. It helps me with my reading because I know I get something after, you don’t have to pay for it, which I love.and I would recommend it to everyone. :)

Bookly. This app is amazing I can track the books that I want to read and organize them.

10/10. Cute and practical 🌟

Amazing. I love this app so much! Being able to track my books and progress is great

Seems like a great app however..... Was hoping I could import my PDFs from iBooks. Kinda disappointed 😑

good. it’s a good app for book worms only problem is at the start page when you see the books you can’t really tell how it’s organized

Book. Good app helpful

Amazing. Keeps me motivated to read!!

So much potential. This app has SO much potential and I’m really hoping the creators are going to keep working on it! I love it already but it would be nice to be able to find a lot more books on the app with the covers included!

No More Distractions!. I’m a big fan of BookTube, Bookstagram, Book Twitter, you name it! But those things can be very distracting when I’m trying to read. I tell myself I’ll just scroll for a minute and 2 hours later I’m lost in the black hole that is social media. Since using the Bookly app, I’ve been able to stop that behavior. Since the app tracks my time spent reading, I feel like when that stopwatch is going I have to be truly reading. Which means I’m halfway through the year and I’ve read more than I did last year already. As a Ravenclaw who loves recording random personal stats, I really enjoy the infographics feature. I use the quotes feature to nerd out and track words I come across that I don’t know and want to look up later. The thoughts section helps me organize notes for my Book Club discussions as well. And since I don’t like annotating in my actual books, I don’t need to carry around an extra notebook because I always have my phone and this app with me. And my final reason for rating this app 5 stars is that I am a fan of the company. I always see them interacting with the bookish community on bookstagram and have only had positive experiences. So if you’re looking for an app to help you focus on reading, organize your thoughts, and track some cool stats, I highly recommend this app!

Buggy app. I opted for the free trial, and upon seeing the summary statistics after finishing one book found the total pages read was off; despite the app recognizing I finished a 400 page book on the “my books” tab, statistics showed I’d only read 245 pages. Looking at my reading logs I realized it was calculating based on those, and didn’t factor in the book being labeled “finished”, which would be fine. I went to edit my logs to reflect the total page numbers (I’d neglected to log my first session when I started using the app, which was what was causing the discrepancy), but when I saved the session the app messed up the page numbers. I tried deleting my two other sessions and to just log chronologically fresh, still bugged out. Was impossible to edit to reflect the actual pages read, despite me trying to fix it about 4 different ways. Not great for a paid app, where the features you’re paying for include accuracy of statistics.

Never thought an app would make me want to read more. When I first downloaded Bookly, I figured it would just be a nice way to track the books I read in a year, but never did I think it would actually make me want to read more. Because of Bookly, I am demolishing my to be read shelves. Also, the Bookly community, including their social media pages, are a great source of encouragement throughout the week and remind me to keep striving for my reading goals. For the first time ever, I think I am actually going to be able to meet my New Years Resolution on reading, and Bookly definitely has a lot to do with that. Two of my favorite features are the infographics that you receive when you finish a book and the monthly reading reports.

Great App for the fellow book nerd! 📚🤓. I love using this app. If you’re a nerd like me and like knowing stats, this app keeps track of it all. You can know how long you’ve been reading a book, how long it will likely take for you to finish it based on previous stats, and so much more. You can organize your books your reading, want to read, etc. by categories and all that. You can make a book you’ve borrowed and who you borrowed it from. Also show if you lent out a book and who it’s lent to. It’s really cool! You can play background noise to listen to while you read too. I mean this app really has it all in one application. Just upgraded to Pro as I really love this app after trying it out for a few weeks now. Which will allow me to do even more now! Love it and highly recommend!!

This is great!. I just started using it today so I haven’t seen anything but so far it is amazing! You get to add up to ten books in the beginning and every time you read you earn diamonds. You can spend those diamonds on decorating your character, designing the app face, or even just using it to pause reading so you don’t lose your streak! You can also set goals as soon as you download it to get a better reading experience. While reading you can listening to sounds on the app and even if you turn off your phone it still has the timer going. This is all without premium and I haven’t had any ads so for but if you want more diamonds you can choose to watch an ad. So far this is a great app and hopefully it will help me keep up reading daily! Overall great app to help track reading

Love the app-one minor problem though. I love the app. However, I have been having an issue where if I pause the reading timer and leave the app, say to do something like respond to a text, my timer will turn back by significant amounts of time. In this instance that pushed me to write this review, I had been reading for 46 minutes or so when I had stopped to text my friend about a funny line in the book, and when I came back to continue reading, the time showed only 16 minutes. This isn’t a bad enough issue for me to rate the app lower, as it has been very motivating, but it’s definitely something I think should be mentioned. Edit: I see that the developer responded and that just makes me like this app even more, knowing that the people that made it actually do care about what they’ve created. This app totally rocks!

great, BUT. So I downloaded and bought a subscription for this app because I have a habit of buying books before I finish my last round of purchases. This becomes a problem when I can’t remember which books I’ve already bought and which ones I remember because I want to buy them. This app provides the best solution because I can easily catalogue my library. I am thoroughly satisfied so far by everything EXCEPT I cannot mark books I’ve previously read (after they’ve been added to library) without starting a session. It forces me to add a session duration and date, which I have to guess at for most. This means my average reading times are of. A mark as finish button would make this app a 100% winner. Dearest Developers, please please please, I am on my knees begging you, add a mark as finished function! 🥺

Book Lover’s Best Friend. At first, when I got the app and paid the what,$30’s it costs? I had no earthly idea what I was doing with it. I wasn’t quite sure how to take advantage of tools they had. But when I did figure it out, I feel in love with this app!!! I love having something that keeps track with how many books, hours, pages I’ve read. I love the sound machine built in, that it tells me how much I need to read to catch up with my reading goals, and they have a bunch of reading competitions! If you’re an avid reader and like to keep up with what you’ve read or like to have goals while you read, this app in the absolute best!! And there’s a free version, however, biting the bullet and paying for the premium version is worth it!

Fun/Cute/Illuminating. I know that all the e-book apps tell you how long it takes you to read a book. But what about hong long it takes you to read a good old fashion physical copy!? This app does it for you! What’s more you can set a goal to finish your book by and based on your reading time it will let you know exactly how many min a day you need to read to reach your goal. I love the ambiance sounds that come with it too! And the cute little assistant that you can dress up with won diamonds. They also let you know about different readathons going on throughout the year that you can participate in! I love the infographics at the end of the weeks that break down my hours and pages and books read. Jus a cute, fun app the really shines a light on your reading! I recommend it for any book lover out there!

I’m only writing this because it won’t stop asking me. AN APP SHOULDN’T ASK YOU A BILLION TIMES TO RATE IT OMG. I barely just started using it and I can’t do anything without it immediately asking me if I’d like to rate it. So here you go. I would fix that if I were them because it’s completely irrational to push someone to rate your app when you haven’t been able to experience it properly. You’re gonna get a bad review if you annoy someone into rating your app. Other than that, the app has potential...I still don’t think it’s worth a subscription, maybe just a one time price, but a subscription? Lol, not when you consider all that goodreads does FOR FREE. Another thing is, it doesn’t have many books on its database which is annoying bc the whole point is to read more pages and I can’t accurately track that if you don’t have the edition with the correct amount of pages.

Very Nice, Needs improvement. This app UI is way better than the popular good reads. Unfortunately subscription is needed but I wish there was a pay to keep forever instead of yearly or monthly. The continue reading automatically starts your reading session and is separate to your countdown. This makes me annoying since if you put s timer to read “10” minutes it does not alert you to stop and in fact if you check on app and end your session you have more reading time than you actually read which is a bit cheating bc the reading starts right away instead of allowing the user to use the timer. Instead there TWO times running which is not helpful and confuses me bc it thinks I’m reading just bc I clicked continue reading when I was trying to set my real timer….please fix the timer

Great potential. This app has amazing potential for me, since I’ve picked up reading again and I’m in 3 book clubs and finish about 1 book a week. I’d love to have more stats about my reading, and to keep my reading time on track with what I want it to be. But finding books can be difficult, especially new or small time authors who are only on Kindle Unlimited. The app feels a bit clunky to understand, and there’s no tap by tap tutorial to understand what’s what. And despite being a reading tracking app, there’s no option for Goodreads integration to make finding books and tracking reading even easier — this one is a big deal for me personally, and the reason why I’m choosing not to use the app. And, my smallest complaint of them all, the slideshow for your Pro purchase screen goes way too quickly. I could barely read it, and had to fight the thing just to see what’s up.

Best reading app!!. I saw this app on Tiktok today and I decided to give a try, and that was a great idea. I have only been using it for an hour and I am already infatuated with using it. I have never tried an app like this so I have nothing to compare it to. The Bookly pro thing is annoying but it doesn’t interfere with my reading so It doesn’t bother me that much. I love how you can dress up the Bookly character in different things and the overall app itself. It’s already helped me start organizing the books I am currently reading and the books I have read. So overall, I love it so far so I hope I will keep loving it. If you want a reading app that lets you set goals, times you, and helps you feel awarded for reading a few pages in a book, this is the best app for you.

Amazing Reading app. I love how you get so many stats about your reading. You can generate a pdf of these stats and view graphs. Excellent resource for a booktuber, booktok, instagram, or any reader. You can create readathons with prompts and goals. You can play rain, fireplace, ocean, forest, etc sounds while reading. Add words to your word a day list and book quotes you love. You get book recommendations. You can log reading sessions and get a reflection time to write about what you’ve read. Amazing app!!! Only way to make it better is to add reading clubs, but for what this app is A++++ I’ve used this app for a week straight and I found it’s helped me prioritize my reading time. I love seeing how fast I read, pages read, time spent, etc. I would love a way to see the percentage of genres read.

Not worth it. I downloaded the app a couple of days ago. I was fairly excited about all the features that were advertised. However, upon getting into the app, I realized the you have to pay for 90% of the features. The thing that really stuck out to me the most was the 10 book limit. There were many other things that required plus as well, this is just the absolute deal breaker on top of everything else. A ten book limit is something I could have lived with it just would have been highly annoying. However, you have to pay for plus to delete the books that you add. Almost everything you do you have to pay for plus. I understand the developers have to make money somehow, but this was just way too much. Please do not advertise this app as free if you’re not going to make it user friendly to those who do not have the money/ don’t want to pay for a plus account. I would not recommend this to anyone I know, as I was hoping to.

Great App. It’s easy to navigate, fun, and very helpful for keeping track of your pages in case your bookmark falls out or someone pulls it out(i think we all know someone like that😅but in my case it’s multiple people)and it’s also very helpful for keeping track of what percentage of the book you have gone through. it really helps you know how close you are to being done with a book. the reflection after you read it also good for refreshing your memory and recalling what you read. being able to keep track of how many books you’ve read is also awesome and very motivating. this app is great for people who want to start/get back into reading. the mental benefits of reading are great. it decreases your stress by 68%, which is more than listening to music(61%) and walking(32%). it increases your vocabulary and people who read fiction tend to be more sympathetic than non-fiction readers. it’s a great app and i recommend.

Texts books and other nonlinear reads. I think the idea hear is spectacular. However, as a student and medical professional, I spend a good deal of time reading periodicals, such as the New England Journal of Medicine, and textbooks these specific types of reads are not meant to be read linearly but I'd still like monitor my academic reading habits and reward myself for them. Might I recommend that you provide an option when creating a book like #of articles # of chapters read Update: I'm not sure what happened but for some reason when I finish a session it wants me record the percentage of the book I finished (so it can convert to pages) I think this is incredibly dumb idea all i do is (=number of pages read/total pages) which requires a calculator and it doesn't even allow me to give a decimal percentage so it usually is off by 2 or 3 pages. Lets also observe the obvious... I could just tell you how many pages I read. I shouldn't have to do math every time I read a book. This needs to be fixed.

Could be better. Good Start for a Book App. But I wish it had more Detailed info for books and reading times etc. and also more options available like connecting to other reading or book apps that actually knows when and how long you are reading. So you don’t have to input the information yourself. I wish we could also delete books and do a lot more without being a Pro member. It doesn’t have to do everything for free but free membership should have way more benefits than it is now. I get needing money to help the app thrive but consumers need more in this app they have do most of the work for. I hope to see better updates in the future or I won’t be using this App for very long. I’m not going to pay for something I can do for free myself easier or when I can get the same details free from another place- like the screen time through apple products -from my own phone.

A great app for avid readers. I’ll start this review by saying that the app is very lackluster if all you use is the free version. I do wish more features were available for the free version — like, only being able to add TEN books? With that said, the paid version has a lot to offer. I love seeing all my stats broken down into detail and the infographic makes it easy to look at and understand. (Looking at you, Storygraph). I was a little flustered at the fact I had to manually add a lot of my books — the import option didn’t even pop up until I was almost done! — but that’s okay because that way I knew everything was accurate (not all imports work properly) and in the order I wanted them to be. Earning diamonds too but outfits in the store is a nice added touch and anything that gives me badges for completing things is top tier for me. Overall a great app.

Bookly Keeps Crashing. I bought this app for 6 months and just a few days after my free trial ends it crashes! I’m afraid to delete and then reinstall as I may lose all my data but it is no use if I can’t log in. Update it’s been over a month since I’ve been able to use this app. All the updates haven’t worked. I wasted my money buying this app for 6 months. Don’t waste your money like I did. It is finally working again but too late. My 6 month subscription is over. I think it’s is unfair for me to pay a subscription again when I was only able to use this app for a few weeks. I contacted the customer service many times and got no help. I wouldn’t recommend paying lots of money on this app.

was upset :\. i thought it would be a great idea and i like being able to track my reading time but… the paywall?? really? i already have to pay $15-20 a book and $20 a MONTH to see how fast i read? when i could use goodreads for free? and not have limited books? also, why are there books behind the paywall?? i understand needing money but just puts some adds in. a yearly subscription for an app that is easily replaceable just seems kinda useless. i don’t understand the point of the paywall since books are pricey enough. idk it just isn’t worth it. goodreads is free and the only thing it doesn’t have compared to this is the time tracking thing. but u can use a clock app for that. also, why are there limits to the books you can add?? this entire app seems like a giant ploy to getting u to pay 20 bucks a month for an app that SHOULD and COULD be free. don’t download this if you like to read at all. save space on your phone for better apps.

Only 10 Free Books. I thought this app might be nice for me to track all the books in a series and/or by different authors that I’ve read and still want to read, as well as keep track of all the books I have in progress (I like to juggle between physical and e-book, and one in each genre I like, depending on my mood), but the free version of this app limits you at 10 total books unless you pay for the subscription. The subscription is pricey! $60 a year if per month basis, $40 for year if you pay every 6 mo’s, or $30 per year of pay for entire year. I can buy a new notebook and track things for a few bucks, so not really worth it for me. On the plus side, I like how easy it is to look up the book and add the book cover. But I would have preferred it to suggest other books in the series and the order in which to read them. And potentially offer a way to track where the book is (physical, or which app).

Just like the ads. Ive had books stacking up on my bookshelf for quite some time, I’ve been reading avidly ever since I was younger but due to work and life getting rough, just kinda stopped. Seeing this app promise to get you back into the cycle of reading was for me, like the holy grail. I downloaded it and expected, like most things, to work for a week and then I give up. However, because of this app I have fallen back in love with with what I love to do most, have explored more into my now favorite genre and now some of my favorite authors. Never once did I think I would be this happy again and I have now completed more books in the last year than I have the entirety of high school. Thank you, Bookly, for making my life so much better and helping me feel so much more comfortable with my life. Read on!!

Great for grad students!. I love this app and use it daily to track my reading as a graduate student. I especially appreciate the designers taking time to give feedback and make changes that suit users’ needs. I love everything about the app, but my one request would be to include the option to choose an earlier “clock out” time when you hit stop. I often run to class and forget to hit “stop” when I finish reading. To make sure my data is accurate, I have to choose “don’t save session” and either pretend to clock in again or enter the session manually. I also echo other reviewers who suggested making an app for Macs that would sync across devices. Thank you so much for creating this app; it has been a game-changer for my productivity!

It’s the small things.. Overall, this is a great app. I’m able to read more books in a year, cut down my physical tbr, and help know how long it’ll take to finish a book. Plus they have readathons that are fun. I’m can categorize my books or share my progress with any socials. However.. There are a few things that I wish they would upgrade; edit the categories name (you can’t do this and have to recreate the category), and deselecting books from categories (if you have a book with the same word/sentence as the title/author but don’t want it under that category, you can’t deselect it). Besides that I do wish they kept the snow on the home page but change it up for any season or give us the option to change it to whichever season we’d like.

Amazing App. I went into a reading slump and couldn't get out of it. Looked at book trackers that were supposed to help and then found Bookly. It did help me get out of my slump by giving me little motivational notifications to read. Even without Pro it's still great. You put your book title, number of pages and book cover, then you can start reading whenever and it'll put a stopwatch. Then you can add your number of pages read and it gives you an estimate of how long it'll take to finish the book! Works on and offline so it's great for roadtrips. Great app, just make sure to delete books that you've already read so you can put a new one on there. (Without Pro you can only have two at a time) Awesome app, definitely recommend. ❤️

An Avid Reader’s Best Friend. Bookly is the perfect app for avid readers, especially those like me who like to be organized and keep track of what they’re reading. For years I’ve used goodreads but I was never satisfied with it. That’s where Bookly comes in. It allows me to see how long books take me to read, how many hours I’m spending a day/month/year reading. There are beautiful pictographs you receive of your reading stats after you finish a book. You can group books by collections, add quotes and definitions as you read, it’s really just such an incredible app. Since using Bookly I have read more books than I have in years. Definitely recommend. The only thing that would be better if there were some customizable options on colors for the app! I love all the little customizable app icons and Bookly assistant outfits.

love. i’ve read many book over the past few months and have documented them all on this app. although you have to pay in order to unlock a lot of the tools. I don’t pay, because I’m broke, but still like the basic features including a start reading timer that ends after my reading section. From there, I can plug in what page I read to and the app will show me how long I read for and how many pages I read during my session. My favourite thing about this app is how it shows you how fast you read a page per minute and how much longer it will take for you to finish to book. This app keeps me motivated and eager to read. I can separate my books into different categories including personal, academic, social, and more. Highly recommended!!

A bit limited. Everything works well, but in advertising for pro, it says unlimited books, so that implies you can only read a certain number of books for free, but if so, what would be the point of the app, since even if you find it useful, you could only use it for a while if you can’t pay (my parents are against paying any amount of money for apps). You shouldn’t limit how long we can use the app without paying, just features we can use. Also, you should let us re-order the collections. It would also be helpful to have an account and an app so we could use Bookly on several devices, even on devices where we cannot download anything (my School gives us iPads we can take out in school, but we can’t download anything and I’m using the app now n my iPhone which we can’t have put in school)

I love it!!. One of my friends recommended this app to me because we both read quite often, and I absolutely love it! I’ve always loved to know how quickly I could read, and this app tells you how many minutes it takes you per page. I also love how you can add reason sessions without timing it on the app as well. A few other really great features are that it tells you what % of the way you are through the book and about how long it will take you to finish the book based off of your average reading speed. I’ve only had it for a few days, but it’s definitely going to be an everyday app for me. I haven’t found a single issue with it for me, yet. Definitely recommend this app for avid readers, or anyone that would like to keep track of the books they read and improve as a reader.

A good way to keep track of my productivity. I deleted social media today and in doing so I wanted to utilize the time that I used to use on social media with something that was a little bit more conducive to my mental health and also something that can help me gain more knowledge in my every day life. I used to quite enjoy reading when I was younger, but since social media has consumed my life for a number of years, I’ve kind of neglected it… so after visiting my local library, I have decided to look up apps that I can utilize to keep track of my reading, and perhaps even suggest new books based on what I read. this app is very interesting and I look forward to seeing what kind of suggestions you can give me so that I can utilize my time reading rather than mindlessly scrolling through social media.

My Favorite App. I love this app. I had it for less than a day before I upgraded to the pro version which was so worth it. It's now been over a year and I still use the app every day to track how much I read. It keeps me accountable for my reading and on track with my goals. It's easy to use and I love that I can rate the books I read as well as add my thoughts and my favorite quotes. This app is so great for anyone who likes to read, especially for someone like me who loves it but doesn't have a lot of time to do so and also has trouble staying focused even when in the middle of an amazing book. This app has helped me reach so many goals and finish books I never thought possible and is making me an even better reader as well. Thank you!

It’s a nice app, but the constant push to get Pro is annoying.. I do understand that apps are generally not created as a sort of charity, that their creators need money to live and to keep the apps operational, but I’ve never used an app that so incessantly pushed me to buy, buy, buy. What’s more, though I’ve barely been using it two weeks, I’ve been told multiple times that there was a special one-time-only sale on, but the “sales” on Bookly Pro are so constant and so exactly the same, that it feels like the “sale” price is the actual price, and “full” price is simply what a few silly or unlucky suckers end up paying. Generally speaking, I’m happy to pay for a service, particularly one I find valuable, and Bookly has been valuable, but I’ve resisted buying Pro because the heavy-handed sales techniques really bother me. I rather resent them, and even though I enjoy the app, I’m also seriously considering quitting it because of how pushy the sales tactics are.

Mostly great but….. I found this app off of a blog I was readings and was looking for ways to keep track of my books and reading times. Pros: I love the streaks, time tracking, and how you can add books to different categories. This app does help me to keep my books organized and I love the how long it will take you to read a book feature although I feel it is not completely accurate but it is very close. And I also love the infographic you can make after finishing a book. Cons: every time I log into the app it says it hasn’t synced with iCloud even though I went and deleted a bunch of iCloud space and even paid for an upgrade on my iCloud storage. It still says it can’t be synced. Which is frustrating because one day the app kept a crashing on me so I finally decided to uninstall the app and reinstall it and all my data was completely gone. I had to put all my books back in which was a time hassle and I lost all my reading data and had to renter that as well. If it crashes again I’ll probably just cancel my subscription and find a different app that is less glitchy. Overall, I really enjoy this app but the glitches can be a hassle. So hopefully they can fix that.

Bring back emoji use in quotes/thoughts please. I have the paid version of Bookly, which feels worth it to me for the ability to take photos of quotes, though many I still type up. I love using Bookly because it’s easy to reference my notes when it’s time to write a book review. However, in a recent update (perhaps related to my ios update and not Bookly itself, I can’t be sure) I’m no longer able to add emojis to the quotes or thoughts I type. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but I use the emojis as shorthand for how I feel about things, because I don’t always like to stop reading long enough to type a full description of how I feel about a quote. I’d really appreciate it if you could either restore this capability, because when it existed, this was a 5 star app I was happy to pay for and recommend to others for short hand book annotation.

Easy to Manage and very Motivational. I am using the free version and have only done one session so far, but I love all the stats and organization of the app overall. Definitely gonna consider buying the subscription after I finish my first book or so on the app. But overall, it’s super easy to manage and learn where things are and seeing the estimated time til I complete a book for sure reason motivates me to continue reading. Definitely a fun thing to add to just casually sitting down and opening a book to read, adds another level of fun to it. Also keeps me organized on books I want to read! And helps me keep track of the order I plan to read books in. But there are just so many on my list!!! 😭 Besides all that though, really enjoying the app so far. Just need to test and see if it continues to hold up for me.

Bookly Pro. With the pro features, this app does almost everything I need. I have experienced several bugs (most of which have been fixed), but the support team is fairly responsive. I do wish that there was an easier way of reading books “out of order” since I will sometimes read the component parts of an omnibus book in chronological rather than publishing order, and currently the app does not allow you to enter starting and ending page numbers for a given session on the end reading session page. You can manually add or edit a session from the book’s session list and it will then re-calculate the total read pages for the book, but it is an extra step to do so and the session does not list the actual page numbers read but the auto calculated page numbers. Due to this, and the current limitations of organizing and editing the collection list, I have taken off 1 star.

Reading Numbers. Love this app and all the features! The Stats are very helpful but not overwhelming to where I feel like I constantly have to check them or be improving them. I like the reminders to start a reading session and being able to see your streak of days read. My favorite features are the quote, thought, and word additions. Being able to track these separately and within a reading session has made it so much easier to track new words and add little comments that I otherwise would have forgotten. Having the ability to snap a picture of the page to make the quote is wonderful and I use it nearly every time I add a quote in. Overall this has been a great addition to my reading life.

Great app for readers. I really love this app. It keeps track of my reading and lets me set goals. The infographics/stats are enough to show you progress, but not so many that you feel overwhelmed. I like that you can scan books to add them to you library. It even does picture to text so you can save favorite quotes easily. I think having a few small tweaks will help the app a lot. The library page could have more than one option for viewing books (currently its a scrolling swipe) as well as making it easier to organize the books. Like maybe being able to click and drag to order in my own way would be nice. Also sometimes it’s difficult to find the edit buttons on the different pages.

Only app I pay for a pro version. As the title says, I literally never pay for any pro app I either use the free version or delete. This app really sold me on all the features (and the free version is severely limited) and I’ve loved using it and I’ve only had it 2 days. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is the spin layout. If the developers could release an update with the option for the spin layout or a bookshelf layout(like iBooks has) I would immediately give it 5 stars. After the first hour of having this app, I was over having to spin my books in a circle to get to the one I want. I personally love seeing all my books laid out in a bookshelf style so could y’all maybe add that in a future update? Other than that I’ve loved everything about this app.

Fantastic free version, excellent paid version!. I had the free version for a long time, and it was working great for me. Occasionally it would glitch for me, but I think I was overloading the app a little bit, so I was okay with the occasional glitches. I haven’t had any issues since I switched to the paid version, and the added features are nice. My favorite feature, which is available in the free version, is the notes ability. I love being able to see my various thoughts while reading no matter which reread number I’m on. I wish it had some filter settings for books other than the bookshelves. I would love to be able to find books in my history for rereads faster, but it’s not a huge issue. I recommend this app to any reader!

Love the insight!. I have been using Bookly for a while now and finally decided to try their subscription options and I really love that they give you a seven day free trial before charging you so you can see what other features get unlocked with a subscription. I love the insight it provides; both the free and paid version offer some of the insight but the paid version offers a lot more depth. Also, the ability to see my reading skills grow over time is really such a great experience. I have always loved reading, but I felt like I was such a slow reader and now I can not only see my reading pace for each time i sit down and read, but my change over time and I just love that! (This is something that is included in the free version, but you get a much better breakdown in the paid option). I also like the affordability of the subscription options because I felt much more comfortable trying the monthly subscription so I could see if the paid version is something I would use enough before considering the yearly subscription. (Both are really affordable compared to other apps that provide subscriptions) I could honestly go on forever on the benefits of this app for all readers.

This app is amazing!!. If you love reading books as much as I do then this is the perfect app for you. I love how you are able to set a timer for how long you want to read your book and you then once you are finished reading your book for the day you could set a timer for however long you want and you can write reflections on what you read. You can also listen to relaxing music when you read and I enjoy listening to the rain sound. Also while you are reading you can write quotes or words you found interesting in the book. You can also collect gems from reading and buy things in the shop with them which I think is cool. This app is amazing and it makes reading more enjoyable for me!

Very helpful. I was in a major book slump when I found this app. I was halfway through a book and couldn’t find motivation to read. Once I opened this app and started using it, I was able to finish the book in about a week. I’m a sucker for daily streaks as well so wanting to keep the streak going motivates me to read everyday. I love all the features this app has to offer. It’s interesting to see your reading speed for each book, and it’s nice to be able to keep track of how long you’ve been reading for. I also enjoy the option to add in quotes and thoughts after your reading session. And I like how it offers relaxing sounds to listen to while you read. I’m so glad I found this app!

Room for improvement. I was very excited about this app, but there is definite room for improvement. The ISBN scanner is crap. More than half of the books I've added, I haven't been able to add with the scanner. I should also be able to re-read books that I have read in the past. What's the point of having a "read in the past" option if I can't go back and re-read it using the app? That also ties in with not being able to edit the books I've already added. I shouldn't have to delete an entire book in order to change one thing. What if I had read a book back in middle school and thought I hated it, but reread it as an adult, and decided that I loved it? Now I can't change the rating without deleting the entire entry. Seems silly to me.

Beautiful App!. I don’t usually leave reviews for apps, but this app has such a beautiful and pleasant user interface, that I just had to! The features are all nicely and intuitively laid out such that nobody should have any issues navigating the app. The fonts and colors are easy on the eyes, and some of the features are amazing (my favorite is the ability to add your favorite quotes from the book). Occasionally, the app does have difficulty finding a book or its cover art even when using the ISBN number. My only major gripe about the app is the lock screen widget which displays books that you have added to your library. When you tap a book, it opens the app (you have to unlock your phone first) and takes you to the book you tapped. From there you can view stats and all the other features, including starting, pausing, or stopping the timer. I feel the widget would be much more useful if tapping a book let you start, pause, or stop the timer, rather than having to open the app for such a simple operation (or even start/pause/stop directly from the lock screen). This, and the ISBN lookup issue, are why I am giving this app three stars. UPDATE: Based on the developer’s response of having considered the widget timer feature I suggested, but being unable to due to limitations beyond their control, I have changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars.

I love it. This is a great app to use for those who are trying to get in the habit of reading or if you read a lot! It’s fairly easy to use, gives you incentives for reading, able to set your own weekly, monthly & yearly books! With the app you can add your own quotes or thoughts (rather than the sticky notes) which for me makes things easier to find. After a reading session, for every 5 minutes reading u get 5 gems which can be used to make your avatar and app look different which is really cool ! You also are brought to a I fo graphic of how you did reading compared to other sessions, read time etc, and when u finish a book it gives u a graph of your status. The only downside is if u want a daily motivational quote you need to pay, but i personally don’t think that is a big deal

4.5 stars if I could. This has helped me read so much more! I’m not being dramatic, I have ADHD, so when it comes to reading, I usually start to drift into tik tok or some sort of social media. With Bookly, I found myself doing that a lot less. I put my focus on my reading, and I usually got more time in then I was hoping for. I think you get 1 diamond for every 5 minutes of reading, which can then be spent towards dressing up this little blue helper dude. He gives you tips, tricks, and encouragement to help you along the way. If you’re not into that, your diamonds can also be spent towards app icons. But if your really basic, you can spend your diamonds on more reading days for the month to get your monthly goal finished. (If you felt like my review was kind of cheesy at the beginning, I felt it too.)

Love Bookly!. I always had issues with not feeling productive while reading even though I know that reading in itself is productive. Bookly helped me turn my love of reading into something I can feel productive doing! I have zero regrets getting the subscription version because I love the ability to track how much I’m reading and how quickly I’m reading. One of my favorite features of the app is its ability to estimate how much more time it will take to finish a book based on my reading speed. This has been incredibly helpful on many occasions when I’m approaching the end of a book while also trying to stick to a specific bedtime or have an appointment. I would highly recommend Bookly for any avid readers! It’s tons of fun and gives you a lot of great stats about how much and how fast you’re reading. Love this app!

Great app, iPad version would be even better.. I recently began using Bookout to track some rather dense material I needed to get through and so wanted motivation to do it. I like the layout, concept, and color scheme and look forward to using it as it develops over time. The quotes and thoughts sections could be refined a little to be less clunky (I’ve had crashes after adding multi-line quotes) and the timer buttons while the timer is active would look a lot prettier with just a little bit of brushing up but these are things that will likely improve over time and development. It would be nice to see an iPad version though, as I do most of my reading on my iPad and right now I’m using the 2x zoom version of the iPhone app on it and it’s just not pretty. All in all, a cool, reading stats designated app to get a lifetime unlock for six dollars and I really look forward to seeing it evolve.
