Absolute garbage nutritional advice. Their workout apps are really good, but their nutritional advice is based on industry funded science and it ignores a wealth of peer-reviewed literature. If you follow their advice, you may get in outward physical shape and it might be a slight improvement over what you currently eat if you eat a lot of junk, but you’re also likely to still have a significant risk of getting a major chronic disease like heart disease or stroke, and bodily inflammation (like in my knees when I used their recipes). Just eat lots of plants and download their workout app and you’re likely to get strong and have a nice, healthy circulatory system and heart. Stay away from the dead bodies, breast milk, and eggs.

Good recipes, but expensive. The app had many good tasting recipes that left me feeling full and comfortable with the servings sizes. On the other hand, there definitely should be more recipes added that include meats (other than eggs). Another problem was that most recipes called for one or two rare ingredients that you couldn't find in your local supermarket. The ingredients are also very expensive, I would like some cheaper options that don't make me spend upwards of 100$ + a week on groceries.

Doesn’t cater to vegans. I recently started the Freeletics body weight program and am so far enjoying it. In the subscription I got, it included the nutrition coach. I am a vegan, and though I can omit recipes that contain meat, the recipes I am given do not cater to people who avoid animal byproducts. Please add vegan recipients, I truly believe this can be a great app!

Great for keeping you on track. This app is pretty great. There are lots of options, the meals are pretty good, and you can tailor it to your dietary preferences. My only issue with it is that it calls for a small portions of ingredients that can only be purchased in a set quantity. For example, if a recipe calls for 2/3 of a can of beans, or 1/2 of a banana, the leftovers don't get used in another recipe. So if you were trying to follow the app closely, it's hard to find a recipe that will use the other 1/3 of the beans or the other 1/2 of the banana. I don't like wasting food so I have to divert away from the app to get the rest of the food cooked/eaten.

Love the app and the new updates!. This app is great for getting me in the mindset of clean eating. I love the updates is recently made to its "Recipes" tab. Is there anyway a feature could be added to search by a certain ingredient? That way, I can make recipes based on what I already have instead of spending money when I don't need to!

Terrible app. I have had nothing but trouble with this app. I ignored the previous reviews and downloaded anyway, thinking they had worked the bugs out. I purchased a 3 month subscription that will not show on the application. When I try to go in to restore the purchase or alter my user data, the app crashes. Speaking of crashing, it does that all the time. Don't waste your time or money on this. There has to be a better app out there!

Here's the deal.. great app and well designed. 4 stars only because some of the recipes are a bit beyond my PB& J capabilities. Very worldly and wonderful new flavors to try but be aware there's some real cooking involved and the grocery trips will add up

Difficult to follow. The meals are difficult to follow. When I am doing a recipe in the book, the phone screen turns off so I have to re-enter my password to view the recipe. Also, the journal isn’t user friendly.

If you want a recipe book...that’s what it is.. That’s all the “coach” is.... unlocking the recipes that are locked. The only personalized thing is the meat protein you don’t eat, your weight, height, age and region. I still haven’t seen the 7 day plan, just one new suggestion every day of 3 recipes for each meal. No ingredients substitutes unless in the milk and yogurt area. It does not take in consideration any personal tastes. “Tailored for you” is a huge stretch. There’s no real coach behind it. Probably just an algorithm. And you get a few messages every day. You can’t even pick and chose the meals from the suggestions and to your “day”, for exemple. You can only click on ‘I cooked this” and you get a star. How cute! Or put in your shopping list. I am not saying it doesn’t work. They are just not ver forthcoming about what it really is. Customer service offered me a refund, but I have to contact iTunes for that, which is proving very unsuccessful so far. They should refund it themselves!

Bad app. Don't fall for fake reviews.. The recipes taste terrible. The app itself is very poorly organized to the point where it is unusable for its purpose. They say they'll charge you a couple dollars a week, yet hit you with a year long subscription for over $100. There are much better apps than this. Don't waste your time here

Awesome recipes just need a more on the go style. I love the recipes in this and I follow the guidelines I just wish that the recipes were more on the go friendly. My job has me on call and I don't have time to cook all four meals a day, sometimes I don't get home to cook at all. I cook the recipes as I can but most of the time I end up packing fruits and vegetables and eating those throughout the day. I would love suggestions on what would be best to eat as is if you can't cook because you're not home.

Unable to change meal size or specific foods to avoid. This app does have some good ideas for recipes. However, I have a personal aversion to peppers and tofu, and I've been given four or five recipes for two days that have those in them. The only food preferences you can put are basically whether or not you're vegetarian, vegan, etc. Plus, it automatically decides what 'size' meal suits you best. I can tell you right now there's no way I'd be able to eat half of what it's giving me for each recipe.

Great app. I wasn't sure how this worked at first. But when I started using it, I am glad I purchased it. I have lost weight with the help of his app. It plans my meals all day long for me. You are assigned a coach. All the meals are healthy choices. It also adds the meals to a shopping list. Not all the meals I am familiar with. But I have learned to be open minded about different foods and flavors. I would 100% recommend this app. I lost eight by changing my eating habits with the help of this app and also by adding exercise to my daily regiment.

Amazing!. This is some of the best food I've ever eaten, and I feel full all day! I just started this week so I feel like I'm cooking a lot and always running to the grocery to grab missing ingredients, but I plan to get organized with everything this weekend so hopefully week 2 won't seem so hectic. But, like I said, the food is great plus I've already lost 6 lbs in 3 days so it is soooo worth it!!!

Needs a reset option. I haven’t used the app in months and I don’t like seeing that I haven’t been following the diet in 21 weeks. Please add a reset feature that lets me restart from week 1. It’s a lot more motivating that way.

Just recipes. I am a vegetarian allergic to soy. I have a diet that isn’t unhealthy but could use a little clean up. I wish I knew this how the nutrition app worked before I bought the plan. It is just a collection of recipes iterated ~ doesn’t help those who already have a custom diet. The recipes are tasty though.

Great look, minimal functionality. Didn't do enough research into this app. I already have the coach subscription for the bodyweight and running apps so I bought the coach without looking. While it sends to offer good meal planning and great recipes is not functional. It doesn't have a shopping list generator, nor does it allow for easy plan ahead cooking. Hope Ness updates can cone quick. The recipes look great.

Not good for vegan. The app has filters for food restrictions but the vegan filter pulls back recipes with milk, egg, cheese and other dairy.

Great recipes, completely impractical. As a programmer I really don’t understand how hard it could possibly be to simply add a feature that lets you select one or two recipes for the week (like other apps do), but that’s the biggest problem with this app. Not sure what’s going on with whoever is leading this dev team but Jesus just add the feature. If you want the app for good recipes then sure but if your actually trying to track anything in a practical way just use another app... Such a waste of good recipes.

Decent recipes, but impractical. The good: this app breaks down what you should eat, including portion sizes, for five meals a day (including two snacks). It generates meals for a whole week and has a shopping list function to collect items you need. I’ve really enjoyed some of the meals I’ve had through it and it’s helped me figure out how to eat better, even in a week. The bad: no regular person will shop for a different meal a day with completely different ingredients, especially if they’re just starting out. I spent two hours on a Sunday flipping through all the recipe options to make a cohesive shopping list, but not every meal is available on every day for whatever reason, which is suboptimal for tracking and cooking, too. There’s also no way to add in modifications to track general calories or how well you’re keeping on track. Some recipes are also just strange — e.g., three pieces of bread for two slices of turkey, or three hard boiled eggs for one meal (that’s way too much egg). This is a good guide and I’ve made some delicious stuff, but it’s way too overwhelming and not nearly flexible enough. I use it in conjunction with MyFitnessPal to track modifications and how I’m doing for the day.

Awesome recipes, lots of bugs. I have been using Nutrition for the past couple of months. It is a life changing app. Love all the recipes. However, it is full of bugs. For instance, it doesn't save the unit for weight and randomly switch units between SI and English, or the shopping list randomly updates itself and marks stuff as purchased. Also, I have the app on multiple devices and they don't sync very well. I hope they resolve these issues in near future.

Good App. Needs Allergens. I personally love this app. The recipes are so good and for people who don’t want to pay there is a lot to offer. However as someone who cooks for people with allergens, in the preference section there is no option to see what is safe. You can do it manually but i feel like this shouldn’t really be an issue. Anyway this is a great app, and that’s my only concern with it

Missing calories. Should incorporate calorie count per individual

Healthy options and portions. The nutrition app is pretty good. It provides options for each meal and allows you to add the items to your grocery list. It also can lookup other recipes available based on your grocery list. The one thing I wish it had was the ability to filter the recipes based on ingredients. This would be extremely helpful for people with food allergies.

Doesn’t help with planning ahead. To be successful I need to visualize the meals that I’ve selected for the week. While the app allows you to make a grocery list...I need to be able to save the recipes I selected for each day to know how to plan that day! 😞 I love the workout app but this nutrition one needs work pronto for better planning. I feel like I’m not going to be successful without the menu/nutrition portion working out. Guess I will find another plan that’s more intuitive. Money wasted.

I'm broke. I'm tired of trying to use these apps to try and be healthy but you just end up having to pay monthly to use most of the features

Not updated to run on iPhone 11. The last update was at least 1 year ago. Its pretty buggy and somehow behaves weirdly when I try to use it on my other phone. Recipes seem to not sync even though I‘m opening the app and am waiting for quite some time. But sometimes, it does sync an I see the recipes. Also, the app is still not fitted to the iPhone 11 screen (and I‘d assume many other models). Further, apart from those bugs, it‘s really way past time for some more recipes and functions, like being able to customize recipe sizes.

Tasty recipes and easy to follow. For a man who doesn’t cook much, I’ve been able to make some tasty meals. Plus I’m eating healthy food that are new to me; foods that are going to help me get strong.

FYI. app is free to download, but you must pay per week for their service. They tell you this after you had already set up account, confirmed email and logged in for this first time.

Good App, Could Be Great. I used to use this for meal planning back in early college days when I was an athlete and didn’t know how to eat or cook. Recently downloaded it again to encourage me to quit ordering food and get my full servings of fruits and veggies and the recipes are delicious and nutritious. I am always full after a meal, and usually have food leftover. I just have a few issues with the app overall that most people have already mentioned. You can know you’re repeating meals, but the app makes it difficult to track that and so many of the meals are to be cooked and eaten immediately which isn’t always practical (especially for work lunches). Right now, you can only filter based on diet (no red meat, pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, etc) and while I can easily monitor my own allergens, I would like at the very least to be able to say “don’t suggest this recipe again” or “don’t show me for [x amount of] days.” My biggest gripe is that it doesn’t allow for you to shop seasonally. It would make my life so much easier if I could filter based on the season so that I don’t have to constantly search for an alternative meal because the app wants me to shop like it’s mid summer instead of mid winter and my budget says no.

Broken. The Coach tab won't show me the calendar control, so I can't change the day. This means I can't use it and see what it recommends. Please fix asap. Also, the contact us link doesn't work in the app.

Not a lot of flexibility/ practicality. The shopping list needs to be divided into grocery store sections (produce, dairy, etc) The meals are okay but the option to meal plan for the week (ie making a meal 3x a week or something would be good.

Overall...very satisfied. Good app with fun recipes. I like how you can pick and the recipe ingredients show up in a shopping list. My critique would be to section the items out so that they are categories for meats and poultry, veggies, condiments/herbs/spices, etc. this makes shopping easier so that you know what to get when you need at. As of now, ingredients are added based on recipes. For example ingredients for spicy shrimp salad show up together, and then next selected recipe for green lentil salad show. Also, I’m not sure if I should be picking small, medium, or large recipes or if my “coach” will do that. Thoughts? All in all, I like this app

Could be great!. Most of the recipes sound great but I have food restrictions that aren’t available to add in the restrictions portion. I don’t eat beans and I’m gluten free, it seems like most of these have one or the other.

Useless. Workout app is great, the nutrition is useless. No option to add your own recipes, say toast with peanut butter, so you’re forced to either only eat their complicated food or have inaccurate results (: would not recommend.

Expected More. While the recipes itself are good, I’m not impressed with the interface. I literally need to confirm every meal in a day to get the grocery list. Also, there’s no option to select how much repetition you want etc. there’s no way I have the time to prepare something different every single day. I’d have really liked the option to meal prep. Also there’s no search function within the recipes? This effectively means I can’t substitute meals based on ingredients I have. I literally have to scroll through every recipe to find something that interests me. Also there’s no option to swap the meal itself, other than from the 3 provided options. For example, I wanted to choose the previous days dinner for the next day too, however there’s no option to do that. The app is nothing but a glorified recipe book.

Must have if you're looking to lead a healthy life. I've been doing the Freeletics nutrition and workout plan for only a week now, but I can already tell that this app is going to be something that I'll be using for a very long time. If you're wanting to get in shape or stay in shape, this app will make it so much easier for you to reach your goal.

High potential, low usability, degrading quality. The quality of this app is constantly degrading and features dont seem to improve. Every time they make a release, a ton of features get broken. if you still care to improve the app: 1. Integration with other freeletics apps and iPhone's health app. That should automate tracking of activity and body measurement reading. 2. ability to add shopping items individually 3. Offline access to meal plans, like for the coming week 4. Ability to sort shopping list by alphabet, item type or other metrices 5. Ability for users to mark meals for cooking from recommendations. I frequently find myself unsure of what i previously decided to cook for a certain day. 6. Subscription is pricey. Consider adjusting price.

Streamline the shopping list. Dear Freeletics, LET US USE OUR LEFTOVERS! Why do I only need a splash of coconut for one recipe out of the whole week? That is impractical. Y’all are smart. Figure it out. There needs to be a way to maximize the ingredients. People buy food days at a time. I hate how much food waste this app suggests.

Unrealistic. The recipes are interesting but so many ingredients per week is unrealistic. So much food waste and expensive to do it that way, not to mention time consuming. A true meal plan would thoughtfully reuse ingredients through the week so that you only have to shop for the minimum.

This is NOT a nutrition tracker!!!. This is a recipe book. I don’t want any of their recipes. I was under the impression this was a nutrition guide and tracker. It wouldn’t be bad to INCLUDE recipes, but if you want follow this get ready to shopping, start cooking, for every single meal.

Love it! Easy, delicious recipes!. This app is new, I think it was released May 2016. I have been using this app for the last 3 days. My food scale has come in handy for measuring. Starting on the 4th day today. So far I have cooked about 2-3 of the recipes they give me each day. Breakfast is the one I usually figure out on my own. You can change your food preference setting at any time to alter your meal plan. The recipes I have chooses are easy, quick and delicious! They taste great and look really nice once plated so I've been taking pictures of it for Instagram. Features I would love in a new release are: 1. Conversion to ounces (even though I am doing fine since my food scale measures in grams too). Also when setting your height and weight it's in cm and kilos instead of inches and pounds so I had to do the conversion with Google. 2. Ability to create a weekly shopping list per recipe 3. More leafy greens daily (I love having a salad or green smoothie daily) 4. Ability to choose dairy free as a food restriction or that the recipes offer dairy replacements options. Also, vegan as a food preference would be nice. Vegetarian is included as an option though which I plan to tryout. I like to include a mix of animal, vegetarian and vegan meals in my day.

nope. my coach DOESNT EVEN WORK. all i get is a “connection doesn’t work” and i’m at home with wifi. i literally payed for something that doesn’t work.

Awful. This app is useless the recipes are disgusting!

Not intuitive. While I enjoy many of the recipes, the site severely lacks organization. It is difficult to manage shopping lists and the recipe layout based on meal type is scattered and unhelpful.

Variety. I love in a place where I cannot get some of the odd ingredients in these recipes even though I would like to. It would be nice if one of the three options every meal had very simple ingredients.

Good app if you’re committed!. So far, so good. The recipes are delicious and ensure that you are full at the end. I wish there were more options for individuals who don’t like eggs. : ( You do have to be organized about what you are planning on eating. Definitely not for someone who wants to eat as normal but track - you have to stick to the food plan. I like the shopping list feature. Could be made better if the app showed you what you picked - I had to write my daily picks down in order to see which meals I prepped were for which days.

Good but yet another subscription. It's a good addition to the rest of the Freeletics apps but I think most people like myself won't find themselves using the coach functionality. I would prefer to see a free version with just the recipes for those who subsrcribe to the coach plan on one of the other apps. As it is right now I can't justify paying a monthly subscription for a recipe book, regardless of how helpful.

Variety. It has few variety of food

Totally changed my lifestyle. New Years resolution this year was to improve my nutrition. Couldn't have stuck to it without this app. Many of the recipes are quick, easy, and satisfying. Best of all, the coach eliminates the agonizing question of 'what's for dinner'. Highly recommend giving this a try if you're on the fence.

Avoid - disgusting ethics. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY OF YOUR MONEY - THEY ARE THIEVES. THEY RELY ON AN AUTO-RENEWAL SYSTEM THAT DOES NOT WARN YOU BEFORE TAKING MORE MONEY - AND EVEN CONTACTING THEM ON THE *SAME DAY* YOU RECEIVE YOUR RECEIPT FOR PAYMENT FOR 3 MORE MONTHS USE, THEY REFUSE TO REFUND YOU. I DON’T CARE WHAT THEIR TERMS SAY - THAT’S THEFT. IF THEY WERE AN ETHICAL COMPANY THEY’D DO WHAT EVERY OTHER SUBSCRIPTION BASED APP DOES AND EMAIL YOU PRIOR TO COLLECTING MORE MONEY. PICK A COMPANY WITH BETTER ETHICS AND MORALS. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BUSINESS MODEL.

Good app, would like to see more feedback on how it's determining what I should eat. When I get a new meal plan each week, it would be good to see why it's suggesting each of the meals/sizes etc. Also, would be great to see the "I've made this meal" log the calories in the Apple Health app! 👌

No flexibility. The recipes are good but the app is not practice for meal planning. There are there limited options per meal and unless you feel like one of the ones forced upon you, there is no point for the app. Further, there is no ability to track macros. It’s just a recipe app at best. A bit disappointing really.

💡. I have an idea for you. When the app creates the shopping list of ingredients we need to buy, based on the meals we’ve selected in the app. Can you somehow connect it with our local supermarket so that we can see the real cost of the groceries needed? And hopefully push an order now button to order the list of items from the store. Or we can go there to look for the items ourselves. Maybe it would be good if it connected to stores we can also change the products, brands, etc. I’m sure it can be done. I’ve often found when I follow these nutrition apps they have great pictures and meals and look good everything but when you actually cost it out at the grocery store the numbers are astonishingly high for a weekly shop. The costing out and the number crunching at the store there hits the user and that’s where the problem needs to be solved in order for it to be seamless. It’s even worse if you are single as the wastage of fresh produce is perishable. If you could somehow work out a way for us to do that. I think this would be a killer app and worth the coach fee. It would be a seamless experience. If that number crunching issue was resolved. It’s not just about the app it’s about the entire end-to-end experience using the app. Thank you 🙏

App not working. I went in the app, but to my surprise the app is not working. Its not loading anything brings up different error messages: "Connection error" and "An error occurred while loading the messages"

More efficiency please.... The app doesn’t allow food prepping... you’re bound to the choices you’re given. I generally prep all my meals (3 different choices for 7 lunches and 7 dinners) on the weekend. If I’d follow the app I’d have to make 8-10 different meals. That’s simply impossible. The choice of recipes is good, but the app is just not practical for standard food prepping...

Good idea but. It’s just impractical and inflexible. It would be much better as a cookbook you could download but give this a pass. It’s too expensive for what you get.

Quick to prepare and very nutritious. All the recipes are so quick to prepare. Great for when you have a family. I love the recipes on the app. Easy to swap out ingredients if they don’t suit my tastes. Love the shopping list once you chosen what you want through your suggested recipes. Highly recommended.

Loving it!. Great recipes and variety of dishes!

Not much info.. I would like a refund for the in app purchase for coach subscription for the nutrition app. It doesn't cater to my nutritional needs nor is it very comprehensive. How do I go about cancelling the subscription?! There's no info on the app.

Recipes are not updated. After about 8 month of using same recipes it became annoying, I’ve stopped to use the app. Dear developers please add or update the list of recipes.

Saving Recipes. There are a lot of recipes to choose from but when I find one I like I can’t save it to a favourite folder. It seems like you can only put it in the shopping cart. Simple feature that would save time looking for the same recipe every time.

Odd meals. The meals are limited and contain ingredients that are not readily available in some location. There is not much choice of alternate meals.

Good so far. Put some winter recipes. It's not nice eating frozen berries and yoghurt in winter. The recipes are only thought for the Northern hemisphere. The options are very limited if you want something different for that day.

No vegan options, no deal. Come on, It’s 2019. Not being able to choose no dairy on top of no meat, is a fail. PS: don’t #ClapClap me.

Loads slow. It sometimes larked a while to load a page

Needs more recipes. Generally speaking it’s a decent app, but using it long-term is difficult. The recipes get super repetitive. If you have any dietary restrictions (or heaven forbid don’t like eggs), you’ll be able to last a max of 6-8 weeks before you’re fed up.

Menu selection functionality needs to be improved. The app is good, recipies are good and easy. But the functionality is not the best. Even after doing your shopping list and selecting your meals for the week it still shows you all of the other options, which makes it hard to keep track on your selected meals for the week.

Limited Flexibility. I understand the coach is supposed to work to guide your meal planning but if you want to switch dinners from one day to another there is no way to do this. Further, the options are very limited; I feel like the options almost push me to find other free healthy recipes online. May work for some but just doesn’t fit my shift work lifestyle.

Usable but needs more features. Does a good job cutting down the meal planning time and effort - my top need. Generally easy and tasty recipes, broadens my culinary horizon, gets me out of same-recipe rut. Needs more customization features such as ability to use leftovers as a next meal or excess ingredients (substitute a meal?) otherwise star awards are meaningless. Would like ability to mark a recipe as the selected option for the meal (a workaround exists if there is ability to sort the recipes added to the shopping list by date of meal). Really need the expanded options to limit specific foods for allergies/sensitivities - please hurry! I plan to keep using the current version for recipe suggestions.

The man can cook, live and be healthy !. It changed my life and the boredom of meal prep ! So many tasty, healthy recipes, easy to make and on to of that make me like broccoli and other veggies I don't like ! I never felt like starving while cutting Thanks to the coach mode that gives you tailored recipes based on your fitness goals. On top of that, it helped me impress friends and bae 🙌🏽😊

Useful and easy to use. I have paid for the coach and find the meal planning helpful. Recipes are simple to make and typically done in 5 to 20 minutes. I wish the feature to add recipes to the shopping list aggregated items (e.g. 3 eggs, not 2 eggs + 1 egg)

Great but. Does not give you the option of limiting out the kind of food you eat/want.

Even more waste of money than og app. Very few recipes and ALL of them need ingredients akin meat of dodo bird or black tomatoes.

Costs money. This sucked, you have to pay for access to anything

Cannot get the app to load. The app is useless. I cannot get it to load even when I have my VPN on. I can get the running and workout apps to open easily and they are great, but this has not worked for me.

I truly wish to refund my money. This app is not optimized for iPhone. this is hasn’t been update like since iPhone 5 probably does not have a calories counter I’ve been using the app for three days and I’m regretting buying this app but I truly love the Freeletics app. I’ve been using it for over a year(Freeletics ) I am in the level 63.

Bait and switch. There is no free version, despite what they tell you.

Disappointed. I am disappointed with the nutrition app. The training coach gets real improvement but the nutrition app is poor in functionality. Should integrate calorie counter, take account of activities linked to the coaching app. Grocery list is exhaustive because you can have twice (or more) the same item because of the different metrics. Restrictions don’t work well, you cannot filter ingredients. Diet option has bugs: I wanted to opt for Pescatarian but it stucks on None.

Good meal recommendations but some shortcomings. I like the design overall, and it suggests interesting recipes. However, it would be nice if some things were improved: - Integration with HealthKit - Ability to rotate a meal to another day (e.g. maybe plans change and you eat out on a day you were intending on meal prepping, so you eat the meal prepped food later) - Portion sizes seem really large, and I’m a person who habitually eats quite a bit. I end up skipping most of the afternoon snacks because I don’t need as much food as the app suggests, and I put in that I’m sedentary

Used to love this app. I used this app years ago when the meal plans were free, there were great recipes but the app is pretty much unusable now. Difficult to select recipes for the grocery list and there seems to be a lot of glitches when generating the list. For example, - 3 bell peppers - 2 red bell peppers - 1 1/2 green bell peppers There used to be a lot more functionality, I seem to remember being able to choose meal prep friendly options and other things. I came back to Freeletics just for the meal plans, but it’s very expensive and not worth it anymore. Which is a shame because the recipes were great.

Mr. Simple and easy to use, great app

Not a bad first effort. Organization of recipes is confusing as they imported the same mythology naming system as their workout apps. Doesn't really work here. Also can't log macros into Apple Health like its competitors can (eg. fitmencook).

No on-boarding - all or nothing. This is a good app for someone who already has a perfectly clean pantry stocked with most of what’s needed for the recipes, with only the need to get a few extra items. For the rest of us, there is no way to ease into the clean eating recipes laid out in the app. The Nutrition Coach would benefit from journeys like the Fitness Coach app has to bring the user onboard and help them transition their eating habits and food supply to get on track. Otherwise, unless you literally throw out all of your food and go shopping for only the things in the recipes, you have to eat to get yourself immersed in the coach plan.

Great!!. I love this app! It makes eating healthy easy. I love that they give you options to choose from for each meal. I would though, love it if meals were repeated more- I am finding I have all these fresh ingredients that are going to waste because I don't use them after one or two meals.

Attention arnaque!!!!!.

I prefer vegan options. I

Lack of options for dietary restrictions. I was super excited to use this app but disappointed with the lack of filters (hopefully there will be more soon). As someone with lots of allergies and dietary restrictions (nuts, peanuts, legumes, beans, chickpeas, etc.), it would be great to have more options!

No vegan option. A shame

Great app but.... Could use a better search feature in the recipe section along with a favourites section to easily go back to recipes you have tried and really enjoyed. App is free to use - but only the recipes. You have to pay a subscription to use the coach/meal schedule area. The subscription works with all their apps (running, body weight, gym) - one price to use them all.

Decent recipe list - restrictive without filters. The recipes are alright, however the proportions are all off in some of them and, more importantly, not being able to filter by allergy (nuts, legumes, etc) is pretty disappointing. Also the rigidity of only using the pre-made meals or “eating out” is discouraging for those without cooking experience to know what can substitute for what - really ruins the gameplay experience of tracking your meals.

Never Works. Spinning wheel every time I try to use it. Only app that doesn’t work for me.

Pretty pictures, but should be free. A lot of the recipes are strange (cucumber, carrot and quark shake, for instance), and I can find comparable (less weird) healthy recipes online for free. Also the app doesn't have any notifications so you forget about it, and doesn't give you the option to tailor the recipes to a certain number of servings. Wish I could get my $50 back!

Decent but won’t be resubscribing. This app has lots of really good recipes. I like that most of them are vegetarian. The reason for the scoring low is cause I just find it’s way to expensive if you eat the way it plans meals. Suggestion would be if you have a recipe that includes half of say an eggplant either have the same recipe for the next day or some how incorporate the remainder of the food in a different recipe instead of lets saying wasting half an egg plant (I know eggplants are cheap but first thing to come to my head) or other more pricey things. Also another suggestion would be to break down the calorie and macros for individual ingredients instead of over all. Ig. There are many type of bread that rage in nutritional value so if you’re counting calories/macros just to make sure you’re eating the right amount for your goals you have the most accurate information that you can get. And one last suggestion would be to have a like and dislike option for recipes. So if you like something it shows up more often and if you don’t like a recipe it stops showing up.

Decent. Pretty good - can’t search for recipes that I can see... decent variety

Meh. Needs vegan recipes!

Vegetarian... but no vegan. 4 stars for a clean layout and an effective approach, but the 5th star would have come if the coach could run on a vegan diet. There’s vegetarian as an option, but for those who skip the dairy, having a vegan option would be great. Hope to see that in future releases

not enough choice for athletes. The most bad nutrition apps I have. Same recipes every day and week. If you change the level of effort is still the same to. the recipes are too simple example : apple and peanut butter - seriously!

Helps to be healthier. This app teach and helps to have a healthier lifestyle

A good shot but hard to use app. I'm still struggling to figure out how to use the app. Not at all intuitive and trying to put together a shopping list has been a nightmare.

Cost. My problem with this is that you have to pay to get a coach. Other than that, I am fine with the app.

Don't waste your time / money. Complete waste and offers no customization, personalization, or interaction. Regret ever giving them my credit card information.

Lose Weight. Why con people? Worthless unless you pay for a coach! Bait and switch!!

Needs Innovation. THE PROBLEM This app is really no different to other nutritional apps. Except you’ll pay $30.99 for three months that includes a coach. It lists out meals you’d be interested in eating. You go buy the ingredients from the shop and cook. But that doesn’t work because when you buy the ingredients needed you end up with an enormous over load of perishable food or stock that goes to waste and your shopping budget will triple. This is so backward and it’s not even this apps fault. THE SOLUTION Whether it’s this app’s company or not somebody needs to work with the global food supply chain problem from the ground up and package the ingredients so that you have the right portion controlled amount of ingredients for each meal you want to cook. A company called Blue Apron actually already does this through a subscription service but it’s quite limited choice, expensive and they only do dinners. So to the developers and the company I’d recommend innovation. I don’t know how you’ll do it but it will change the world not only from a supply chain view but also from a nutritional aspect by helping millions of people all over the world be more healthy while helping to sustain the environment. Please somebody … Elon Musk … somebody do this. I would but I don’t have the money nor the financial backing to help get it off the ground.

For self-starters only. As with Freeletics Bodyweight, this app highlights the dangers of using artificial intelligence to do the work that should be done by certified professionals. Because you don’t get to talk to a registered dietitian, this app will only leave you grasping at straws because it doesn’t adequately explain the meal plan it has set up for you and why. It also assumes that you’re only using Freeletics Bodyweight for workouts when there are better options led by certified trainers on YouTube and elsewhere. The fact that you don’t get assigned a real-life registered dietitian to help you make sense of all this should be reason enough for you to stay away. Freeletics will set you up to fail, especially if you’re starting over. It’s as simple as that (and yes, I gave Freeletics Bodyweight one star for similar reasons: No contact with a certified professional and nothing explained in plain English for beginners).

Awful - save your time and money. It's no surprise that Freeletics doesn't provide a free trial period as they do for their other apps, because I doubt many people would fork out the subscription cost up front if they knew what they were getting in exchange. First off, there's 0 integration with the other Freeletics apps, with several ramifications. Wouldn't it be great, for example, if your nutrition coach adjusted in response to the number and intensity of your workouts? No such luck. Second, meal plans appear completely, utterly, totally unrealistic. The "coach" proposed meals comprised of yogurt and honey for breakfast, salad for lunch, and roast pumpkin for dinner, totaling <1000 calories. I'm 6'01" 225 Ib guy. I didn't sign up for a starvation "diet" that was completely unbalanced in terms of an appropriate mix of carbs, proteins, and fats, and totally inadequate in terms of caloric intake. Third, zero option to refine your nutrition objectives, particularly if you're trying to lose weight. I've never seen a reputable nutrition program suggest that you aim to cut more than a pound or two per week from dieting, and there's no way to refine you target or the pace at which you'd like to lose weight in a healthy way. Fourth, totally incompatible for vegetarians, which is ridiculous. How many vegetarian or vegan triathletes, Olympians, body builders, and athletes of all kinds do we need before organizations like Freeletics understand that you don't need meat as part of your diet, and organize a nutrition plan that's truly vegetarian. Fifth, all weights, measures, and cooking times are metric, so if you're American then get ready to do some conversions. Sixth, the menu isn't at all seasonal. It's August in the U.S. and the first thing that the nutrition coach gives me for dinner is pumpkin. Seventh, absolutely no consideration given for buying the ingredients that you'll need for your meals. Get ready to break out a notepad and write things down. A simple option to create a shopping list for the next X days is such an intuitive, obvious feature. Given the above, this app earned one star and a request to the App Store to refund my purchase. Absolutely terrible as is and will take significant work from Freeletics to get this to anything approaching acceptable.

Boo!. Don't really see why they want to charge for pretty much everything on this app.. Not worth it

Muy buena app. Me gusta mucho esta app recetas sencillas

Great recipes, easy to use. The recipes in their database are both tasty and filling. It would be five stars if there was a way to coordinate the ingredients between one day and the next, or have a way to use one day's dinner leftovers as the next day's lunch.

Wonderful App. It's only been a few days, but I love Freeletics! Great app, that is a legit substitute for expensive trainers and nutritionists. I do wish I could export my grocery list to Wegmans, Amazon Fresh, or some such grocer app, but not a big deal. Highly recommend.

No more guessing. I am pleasantly surprised at the way this program works! I don't have to wonder about what to eat! Thank you Freeletics

Misleading. This app is not free at all! Sounds fantastic but like most things it is to good to be true.

Disappointing. Free download, paid service (all of it). You can't even see the recipes...

Not Worth Time or Money—Freeletics is a "soft" scam.. I wish I had read the reviews prior to engaging with this application. I work in the the strength and nutrition fields. I decided to give freeletics a chance on behalf of my clients. Firstly, the product is poorly named—to get any sort of value out of the product you've got to sign up for a ~40$ monthly membership. My biggest grievance, however, is not its insane cost—it's the insanity of this program. Any fitness app that provides the option for a "coach" (at extra charge) should, by implicit definition, designed to be accessible to individuals for whom the subject is new. If such is the case, the company ailed—here are today's meals suggestions, for example (each meal falls under an absurdly named "macro"-category, such as "Opes," "Impleo," "Eques," "Voro,"etc.): Breakfast: "Vita": Sweet Potato Corn Muffins | Vanilla Chia Pudding | Simple Banana Muffins Morning Snack "Nitor: Chicory Salad | Salmon Sandwhiches | Coconut Quinoa Muesli Lunch "Vita": Beetroot Curry | Grated Carrot and Halloumi Salad Dinner "Nitor" : Baked Pumplin with Quark Sauce | Quinoa and Grilled Chicken Salad | Chicory Salad Name alone suggests the high price of each meal—this is clearly targeted toward a specific demographic. Fortunately, do recipes accompany each meal—however, users did not sign up for a cooking application. Furthermore, the complex process of buying/cooking obscure meals with absurd names represents a huge discouragement to any dieter. Each day that a person opts for a "Vanilla Chia Pudding" breakfast (rather than just eating raw oatmeal and a protein shake—which have better nutritional macros) brings him or her 24 hours closer to abandoning the diet altogether. Lastly, the UI isn't intuitive, the program is hard to tailor—and harder to cancel—and provides surprisingly few options for an app with such a large and developed menu. I imagine the app makes for fairly lucrative revenue when hundreds of confused, invested customers decide to upgrade to a "coach." In a cost benefit analysis, the variables don't add up (high-end food + 40$ / month or more + time investments)—if you've got this much money, hire your own nutritionist.

Great meals. Lots of great options for meals, have my choice of great recipes.

Dont bother with subscription. Im quite unhappy with the 'coach' subscription. Frankly i find it unrealistic to cook so many different meals ad it suggests. Your grocery list will get very large and expensive. The recipes are great and on their own they provide great help in clean eating.

Just signed up doesn't work. Literally just gives me a screen that says: "you weren't a coach user that day"

Need someone to help regarding any questions. Apps is absolutely awesome but one thing is I have some questions but I don't find where to ask and how iam going to get answers

Improvements needed. Great app! Love the recipes but 3 stars for now because there is no way to create a shopping list for the week. Everything has to be written down by hand which is extremely annoying especially since the app isn't exactly free...

Money hungry. Literally you have to pay for a coach. Don't wanna do that? You can log stuff in your journal but only a few things because the rest you need a "coach"for.

Excellent Planning. The ability to meal prep and plan with this app is stellar.

I Absolutely Love It. I am a Louisiana Cajun girl at heart that loves to be able to taste the different seasonings in food so I was very hesitant in purchasing the nutrition coach with the Freeletics Bodyweight portion that I’m doing. But I was like hey I can at least try for 3 months because I was in need of a drastic lifestyle change. I was then very hesitant in actually doing it because some of the recipes for my day 1 looked disgusting honestly but I went with it. I am currently on week 3 and I absolutely love it. I’ve only come across 1 recipe that I just didn’t like out of the 20 recipes I have tried. They give you 3 different recipes for each of the 4 parts of the day so you have 12 different recipes you can eat for that day. I love the versatility of the recipes and you can tell that they are specifically tailored towards your goals because they are categorized based on different things. They recipes are also pretty easy to make and really delicious. As far as shopping goes you get to choose which recipes you are going to make for the week by adding that recipe to your shopping list and then it compiles a whole list together. I do like that but it can use a few tweaks such as compiling the list in order of dairy, produce, etc.but it has been pretty easy to shop because it gives you how much you need of each as well. I am looking forward to the lactose intolerant version because a lot of the recipes require a lot of dairy (cottage cheese, quark, yogurt, milk) but so far I have been able to handle it by just substituting the milk with almond milk and only choosing the recipes with dairy least often because I am partially intolerant. But overall I love it.

So viel Potential….

Unnavigable, unhelpful, and awful customer service. DO NOT GET UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE MONEY The app itself is difficult to use. They charge a steep price for having poor organization I also cancelled my subscription the day it auto renewed and they have refused to refund me. I'm not some wealthy person who can afford to have money disappear for no good reason. Their customer service team does not care as long as they have your money. Do not buy. This community of athletes is actually just a good marketing team.

BUY THE COACH. This app has been life changing. I bought the coach and it's really like a personal trainer. The new updates are great. I love the new recipes and how the workouts show what muscles are being targeted.

Great....but.... Great app. Delicious recipes that keep me satisfied and the pounds started coming off immediately! I would like to be able to use the standard measuring system and a shopping list would be nice.

Not free. You have to buy a coach for $30+ to actually do anything.

Needs improvement. If you are the kind of person that is self motivated then this has lots of potential, but if you are self motivated, you don't need to spend this much money.

No shopping list. The app doesn't generate a shopping list for the week (like others app do) and have to copy manually the list of ingredients for the week. Not worth it

Not allergen friendly. App requires subscription which is a negative for me, but the main thing is it is not currently allergy friendly. It has no way of filtering out ingredients and the few recipes I could see, most had soy in them. Not worth it if you're looking for nutritional help whilst dealing with a food allergy.

AMAZEBALLS!!. I'm only using the free version, mainly for the recipes, healthy eating, macro count. Best app I've used yet. This is soooooo freaking helpful and easy to use compared to other apps.

Nutrition.

Meh. I've seen better app design and the recipes have only European measures (sorry but kilos and grams baffle me😝) Most of the app is locked unless u subscribe which I refuse to do... Great potential... But I deleted it

Disappointing to say the least. I downloaded this app because it advertises as clean eating and that it allows restrictions. The only restrictions it allows have to do with meat - nothing allergen or medical related. In each recipe, there is a listing if it is gluten free or lactose free, but these are not searchable options. Additionally, the recipes tagged as being lactose free have cheese in them. I'm pretty sure cheese doesn't belong in a clean eating plan. Such a disappointment as far as nutrition and diet apps go.

Free version only provides a few recipes. Only a few recipes without paying. 3 months for $24 was the cheapest option. Haven't given it a shot, too many free apps available for that. Maybe offer a trial.

$35.00 for a "coach". Not worth it, unimpressed

Nutrition. This has program has been a great help since I learned how to cook healthy meals. I started a week ago, I lost 5 pounds. I couldn't believed it. The menus are simple and easy! I enjoyed it.

Bad. Requires expensive subscription.

Please, please, please fix this!. I'm going to keep using it because the recipes are awesome! The only problem I have is that I cannot open up my saved (logged) recipes once I actually have all of the ingredients and am ready to begin cooking!!! Please fix this and I'll change my rating, I think you guys are awesome and I don't mind paying it's just this needs to work better!

Awesome. I love it. Makes dieting so much easier.

Crashed. Couldn't sign up

Delicious!!. Great options for a healthy way to eat meals!! Exciting meals!!

Recipes. There's a lot of potential but I feel most of the recipes in the app are impractical. And it requires a subscription to see them.
