Wish I could give a good review. I enjoy playing this game but can’t recommend it due to its enormous drain on my 6s+ battery, to the point that I wonder if playing it will do permanent damage to my phone. I just timed myself playing for 15 minutes, and had 25% battery drain, so 1 hour of playing Inks would completely drain my full battery. My iPhone also gets HOT! Nothing else I do on my phone comes remotely close to draining my battery as quickly. Even if I have my phone plugged in to a good, fast-charging source, this game drains the battery faster than it can recharge! Another weird thing is that despite the high power draw, Inks never gets reported in my iOS-11 “battery” usage settings page. Are the few of us here reporting rapid battery drain the exception? Is the game working without extreme battery usage for most players?

Ew ppl. Why did you guys expect an’exciting’ thing about this game. Cant you clearly see in the photos that this is supposed to be an artistic and calm pinball game you just have on your phone mindlessly for years. This game is perfect guys. If you are not satisfied that this game is a pinball game about splashing beautiful colors, you shouldnt have bought it in thw first place. The only complaint i have is that this game sometimes quits on my iphone xr :/ but other than that this is a great game >< 11/10

BEST GAME EVER. This game is super relaxing whether you’re stressed or not this game is probably the best game ever now I have some pinballs in my basement or should I say pinball machines And I decided to search a pinball on the App StoreI found some… Interesting results and thought that they were awesome because they look so stupid that I found some really good games in one of those good Games was inks inks is a good game you are welcome for your five star review goodbye!!!

Beautiful and fun but suddenly started bugging. Since I’m a huge fan of real physical pinball, virtual pinball games often disappoint since the timing is so crucial and hard to recreate. Nonetheless I enjoyed this app, but since about a month or so, the flippers have become unresponsive and unreliable. Every so often I watch in despair as the ball slowly rolls over the flipper and drains even though I’m pressing the screen. Other times the flipper will activate but just a bit too slowly, which is just as bad. Therefore, I give up. It was a good run, but no more.

This game is great except for.... I love this game stylistically. I have gone so far as to purchase power-ups (for some of the more difficult ones), which I NEVER do. Disappointed that I’ve had power-ups (both purchased and earned) used mid-game without restarting the level, which could be easily remedied by a simple pop-up for confirmation.

A little hitchy at times, but worth it for the view.. Inks is a simple, puzzle game driven by pinball mechanics. It's very simple, but amazing to look at. Play it when you just need a moment to relax, but still want to have some active role in the action. Frame rate dips a little here and there, but there isn't much penalty for failure, so one imprecise shot here or there isn't really frustrating.

Beautiful but fails to fulfill its promise. This is a beautiful toy. I love the interaction of the ball and the ink. For that I give it 4 stars. However... The puzzles aren’t hard enough, I was able to randomly pick out a few from every pack and complete them. None of the mechanics added to later tables presented a significant challenge. The pinball doesn’t really exist. There is no table which allows for sustained play. The ink panels are one shots. Once triggered they don’t reset. There is no score, and there are no sequences or complex interactions. In addition the paddles are not reliable. Perhaps the touch region is too small, or accidental touch rejection isn’t turned off. At any rate it isn’t very important, as there isn’t much in the game to lose as a consequence. The toy doesn’t explore the scope of play. None of the tables ‘paint’ a picture, there are no opportunities to experiment with drawing. I actually had the most fun on the title screen, using the ball to draw lines and play with the ink.

Good FREE game. It's great for relaxing or if you're just bored waiting for the bus stop or something like that. The sound effects are relaxing, the colors are pretty neat, and it's over all an artistic concept. This app is great but not worth buying for it. I'm sure a lot of work was put into it, hence the purchase requirement they placed on it, but it's WAY too simple to put a price on it. A plus on it being an app you purchase is that it doesn't become an ad frenzy when you try to enjoy a simple game. That's something to consider as well for their reason on putting a price on this. Left flipper could use some work, at times it doesn't register my clicks, but so does a regular pin ball machine at an arcade at times. The struggle never ends!!! Haha

Fun & beautiful. It's always better to feel like you're adding beauty to the world when you were wasting your time. Happy I stumbled across this and spent a little bit of my Sunday morning gaming and coloring at the same time.

Happy way to waste time. The colors and simplicity make this a relaxing distraction. I didn't even notice the power-ups, coins or purchase aspects so I can't speak to those things but I really enjoy the game. I agree with another reviewer that it would be nice to incorporate a few more classic pinball features because these levels aren't a big challenge for seasoned pinball players. I don't think I would pay for this app in its current version but if it got a bit more challenging or did incorporate the classic elements I definitely would.

Just what I need. State of Play comes up with some real unique and beautiful games. Relaxing but challenging at the same time. Meditative in a way, if I can use that. I’ve had KAMI for years and every time I upgrade phones and the game resets, I’m learning it again (though not all over again). Just found out about this game, Inks, and it fits the same bill. Very pretty. Nonjudgmental (i.e. no timer, *I* set the pace; you can reset and try again). I just scanned a long review where someone thought this was boring. (People write movie reviews like that, too. They see a picture about real life and then bash it when it’s not like Star Wars.) Anyway if you’re looking for the game equivalent of “get it done or you’re dead” then, yeah, it is “boring.” But there are tons of games out there that will make you sweat. I don’t need that or I don’t always need that. Sometimes I just need to **be**, and this is a great game for that. I appreciate it for the game it is. Thanks for designing it.

Challenging but calming. It's great game to sit back and relax with for a while. The color scheme, the simple controls, and the sound of the ball rolling and hitting bumpers is really quite calming, it's something nice and different from most other games. And it keeps you thinking with each level getting a little more complex, finding that perfect angle to bounce the ball.

Controls are Laggy. The paddles are not immediately responsive. It completely ruins an otherwise fun and unique game. As a side note -- now that I'm writing this review I might as well mention it -- the par score for earning a star on a level is way too unrealistic. This is pinball. With or without the powerups, it's impossible to even hope to complete the level in a certain number of hits. The top score should be finishing the level with one ball.

Beautiful. This game is so lovely. It's got beautiful graphics and the diesen is lovely. I've never had the lag in the flippers but even so I'd still keep it. I enjoy the mini free for all mode on the start screen. This game is so aesthetically pleasing too. But I low key wish that there was a way that when your done your hall doesn't get sucked into a black hole. All the obstacles like bouncers and those lil vacuumy things disappear and you just create something beautiful. Idk 😐 11/10 is my rating.

.... This hits all of my aesthetic buttons. A simple idea (pinball with ink), but the visual pep is wonderful. Watching my path develop (and change as the ball rolls over different ink) is very satisfying. The sound does a good job of highlighting the visuals without straying too far from its arcady pinball origins.

Buggy as all hell. Super fun game, but the flipper physics can be pretty weird and off (almost like the game can’t keep up with the ball’s position sometimes to correctly send the ball in a normal direction). Not only that, but the game takes up a *ton* of resources on my phone and causes it to overheat (both software and hardware) and lag super bad (framerate gets cut in half). Seems like a really odd bug to have, considering it *shouldn’t* be a such a resource hog. Y’all need to figure out what’s going on before my friggin phone explodes in my hand, and I’m not even on a Samsung Note 7!

It’s pretty but needs some tweaking. I purchased this after spending a few months with Kami. Conceptually the game is rad but a bit frustrating b/c of the flapper controls. I know the issue is that I move my thumbs slightly when using the “flappers” but that shouldn’t lead to a randomly paused game or a missed shot. If Kami was an “A” this is a “C”.

I for one really like it. Not sure what the all negative review are about - though I don't run this on a phone. My iPad pro runs it just fine, no heat issues, no bugs. The frustrations expressed by some may be from people who always want the easy way out - or who don't have the sense to quit playing a GAME when it becomes too frustrating.....especially at 6 AM. Sheesh...... I love the look, the design is excellent for casual gameplay - as in you can play for 5 minutes as a break from life, them get back to real life easily. It's an excellent riff on pinball + art. I love it!

So far, good game. Also I think it's clever to say "what _would_ you rate this game" and then lead the person to the App Store. That's how I was drawn to leave a review when I usually don't, even for games I really like. I wouldn't be surprised if future devs followed this example for their games when asking for rating.

Not sure what I was expecting.... Now, don't get me wrong, it's a nice game but it's lacking. Now, I may be somewhat tired of same formula where you "do this so-so times to get max points" but I also feel that this game lacks something else. Not like I was hoping for it but the mechanics would had been amazing to see in a more pinball styled game that took you somewhere as you played, leaving lines of color and wonder as you continued through pre-rendered levels that make up each chapter. The game might had been shorter but the impact would had been much greater. I might be envisioning something bigger or grander but that's just it, pinball has already reached such heights of expectation that I feel this game is lack luster. Each level is either short or irritating (and poorly designed if trying to be a 1-shot challenge) that it feels like you either chose to just try and enjoy playing a level or try to get a gold star. Some are easy, some are impossible, and some just aren't worth it. What's the point of having the ball paint lines if your goal is to have few if not none to see in the end? The game is great in terms of design but lacks what makes angry birds or cut the rope as fun as they were. Inks is bland, lacks impact, and is downright forgettable. Glad it got the good reviews but I'll be honest, I'm let down and happy I didn't have to pay for this...

Beautiful, and challenging without being stressful. I've only had the app for a few minutes and I'm already in love. I'm creating artwork while giving my brain a mini workout of strategy and reaction time.

One iPhone X bug. Ouch!. Amazing game by an amazing game development company. Nothing but gold with their other products! My issue is that sometimes my taps don’t register to trigger the flippers on iPhone X. This often results in the ball dropping through the center. Either that or there is a delay between the trigger and he tap. The issue needs fixed so badly. The mechanics feel incredibly inconsistent and really take away from what looks to be a very well made game.

Very nice change. I was sure this would be boring but I can't stop playing this game. It's not a typical pinball game but goal oriented which I really like. It's the free game of the week. Get it. I like it better than the candy game. Not nearly as frustrating.

It's great yet.... Okay, this game is a ton of fun but there are a few concerns. I got this because I thought it'd be like a really pretty freestyle pinball game... don't expect that. Expect puzzles that'll make you scream at 6 in he morning while your neighbors are sleeping. I actually threw my phone down because I had to retry a level more than 50 times because of the obstacles (yeah, it's that difficult!) also, my phone gets REALLY hot when I play this. And I play a lot of games so this is odd to me, it's like I put it in the sun.

Beautiful and fun. This is a beautiful way to update the old pinball game. You have to strategize how to hit all of the colors while also not letting the ball drop. It's harder than you would think, but still a fairly simple concept. Great game!

Has a few programmers pitfalls.. While the game is lovely to play, it has two issues with its programming. One of which means it's child sharing unfriendly. The first is that not every color panel can be hit when a ball rolls past them. I've seen a few levels where the ball is rolling along a rim and one panel simply won't activate reliably. The panel in front of it and all of those behind get hit, but that single panel won't respond. (Dawn 12, topmost orange panel is an example) The second issue is that the powerups are permanently limited in number. Once they are used... they're gone. Not only can they be lost but their purpose can be nullified. This essentially means of you let a child play they will consume all of the powerups and potentially hit the purchase button repeatedly ( which is also why you can turn off in-app purchases). Bluntly put, you can't share this app. Which makes it pointless as a game of you can't give others the opportunity to try it. The only alternative is to 💵buy the unlimited booster points. Which makes the levels trivial as you can then use as many powerups as you want. A middle ground would have been if the booster purchase kept that unlock free, only for that stage (so you could turn it on or off if wanted.) So if you messed up, you'd still be able to get value out of it. Or if you completed all of the levels with gold the boosters became free in that segment.

Beautiful but Frustrating. Loved the style of this game and its simplistic approach to pinball. The art is especially neat. If you are a completionist, this game will start to drive you crazy with its demand for utterly precise control. Vespa #12 killed the game for me when the skillshot powerup didn’t work on the upper set of flippers. After a while, I started wishing the game just had the usual multipliers, flashing lights, and extra balls. Again – if you want a simple, addictive game this might be the app for you. If you are a completionist like myself, the game will start to feel like a grind after the first couple sets of levels.

Points for originality, but.... I'll give them points for originality, because this truly is unique, but unfortunately I fail to see the point. Maybe in some surrealist art experiment way this is fun, but at the end of the day there is no reason for this to be on my phone. They claim to have taken the stress out of pinball but there are some levels that were incredibly tedious and stress inducing. I guess the end results at times are pretty but that alone is not enough to keep this game, or lack thereof, on my phone.

Give it a few levels. At first I thought the game was a little too easy and more about showing off colors than the actual game. But the levels do get more challenging, I choose to not use the power ups to make things a bit more fun; but overall great game.

My new favorite chill out game. I play games to unplug and take a few moments for myself. I can tell after just one day of having it, it's going to be my new go-to for a while. Its graphics are nice and its sound design is understated, yet delightfully realistic and fun.

Still no fix for the paddles. I paid good money for this game and expect the developers to at least give us a working game. I love it for passing time when on a flight, as my other games all require network connection. But as others have already complained about many times, it’s just frustrating to keep missing shots because a paddle (usually the left one for me) doesn’t work or fires half a second late. This leads to other passengers on the flight becoming concerned about my anger levels... I have to put it away before they turn the flight around.

Waste of time.. It's pretty if you think 1994 paint splatter is pretty. Otherwise this game is terrible. To call it a puzzle game or pinball is damaging to both. I looked the it looked well enough to keep the game for a week to keep trying to like it. If it was life pinball, and you could keep playing a table to make points it would be fun. But it's not that. It's just hit an object that looks pinballesque, a certain way to go up a channel or around a bend, then move on. It's really a cleverly disguised rip off of Angry Birds.. it's fun enough for using while pooping, but otherwise not with it.

This game gave me an addiction. Got this at free gotw, and I cant stop playing- no joke. Its simple, beatuiful and all I want in a pinball game. Just one request: user-made levels. After seeing all the mechanisms like the bumpers and rails, people could get creative with this game. I would be glad to see this implimented, but just a suggestion.

So close to amazing. I’ve really enjoyed playing inks. It’s a great little game with a simple but addictive concept. Unfortunately, it has a major flaw: touch detection. I can’t count the number of times I’ve lost a pinball because the flippers haven’t responded to my touch. If it happened less frequently, I’d be willing to write it off as my failing to tap when I thought I had, but this is a frequent enough issue where I know it’s not my doing- it’s the game not detecting my taps. If this could be fixed I’d happily give the game a 5, but until then it’s a fun quick game with a really annoying flaw.

The menus drive me nuts. I want to love INKS because it’s pretty and simple, two things I really love in a game. However, I am constantly triggering the menu in the middle of play when trying to activate the paddles. Constantly. And this ruins the play in a really frustrating way. I’m not usually clumsy with my thumbs in other games... maybe this would be better played on an iPad where the screen is large enough? On my iPhone XR, however, it’s just frustrating.

No tilt?. Many standard pinball moves do not work for this game. This makes it difficult to maintain control of the ball. I get more SDTMs in this gamethan any other pinball games. The lack of a tilt feature makes every one of those a ball losses. Painful to play two-handed on iphone 6s. Would be nice if a landscape mide were available, that panned with the ball. This game is still fun, albeit more frustrating than traditional pinball.

Really nice.. Beautiful screens - that's the big thing. Really nice concept. Needs some playability tweaking - the pause screen comes on if you don't hit the flippers just right. It is less of a puzzler than an enjoyable experience. Aiming the ball with the flippers isn't any easier than in a regular pinball game - and that's the real challenge. A solid 4 star.

Fun but buggy.. Very nice and well designed game. Love the idea and objective. Big problem I have is there is a bug cause huge resources to be used. After less then 5 minutes the phone will get really hot and the frame rate will drop horribly low. This is not a heavy graphical game so having such a drain on resources is a huge problem. Needs to be fixed. Also, it down not remember what sound setting you left it at even though the slider indicates correctly. I have to go move the slider to low every time I open the game. And because of the previous big I have to constantly close the app just to ply the he longer than 5 minutes. Please fix the app.

Excellent on many levels. I really like this game. It’s not too difficult yet it’s challenging, the graphics are superb, you can play for two minutes or two hours and enjoy it just as much either way and it’s a reasonable one-time-only cost. A little information on how to play and scoring would help, though.

Poor Design. This game started off great, elegant levels and fun challenges. However, after I got to the level pack "Vespa" I started to become extremely annoyed at the first few levels. This was because they didn't flow well. The "Break Out" style mechanic in this level disrupted the flow of the game and made levels needlessly long. Because of this I will only rate the game 3 stars. It was extremely fun at first then became very annoying and tedious.

Love it! Peaceful!. Love the game! Easy, usually peaceful till you keep losing the ball, haha. Fun colors. Don't know where to submit feedback. Can there be a way out of a game when I get sick of losing and want to play a different board? Also, dark mode please!

Elegant & Beautiful!. This game is beautifully designed, and incredibly colorful and enjoyable! It's hard to find a digital pinball game that is actually worth playing over a real pinball machine, but this app offers a unique twist with splashes of color and simple but addictive "power-ups" that make the game feel fresh and enticing with each new level unlocked. Though not an incredibly complex game in concept or mechanics, the pinball boards do get more challenging and unique as one plays through the levels and the music and colors are meditative and relaxing! At the time of writing this review, this is a free app of the week - so it's definitely worth a try! It also somehow feels like the perfect Fall game - simple, relaxing, and colorful - so I applaud Apple on their choice for this September week for free game app of the week! 👏🏻👏🏻

Dumb. I downloaded this game because it was the free app of the week. But I'm surprised they felt okay charging for this. The graphics are nice, yes. But the game itself is dumb... probably because it doesn't act like a real game. It's so simple and pointless that you think there must be more to it. But there is zero information like instructions or a description of how the "game" works. I played longer than I wanted to because I assumed something would reveal itself to actually make this a game. So far, nada—so this is about to be deleted.

Too difficult. If there was one feature I'd like, it's a sandbox mode. The art is beautiful and the feel is lovely. The paddles are responsive. Game play is intuitive. UI is stunning. Unfortunately I found myself getting frustrated with the difficulty of the levels, so this isn't a game I'll be playing again. If there were a sandbox mode, I can get lost in it, just tooling around.

Pretty, but, I can’t rate this game very high.. This is a pretty game. With that out of the way, on to the detractors. The game is extremely resource intensive and a short session of playing will cause your phone to heat up and put a severe drain on your battery. You’ve been warned! And before you start to think I’m running this on an older phone... I’m using the iPhone 7 Plus. Maybe not the newest version but no slouch either. If the developers could work out the issues with the excessive resource drain this game would rate much higher. All of the 5 star ratings are from ADHD players who run the game for 5 minutes and move on to something else and don’t even notice the resource drain.

Promising game, lovely graphics. I love pinball. I have tried literally hundreds of pinball apps over the years. I only still have a couple of them on my iPad. This one has promise but it gets frustrating early. I'd love to have a choice of playing classic pinball, where I can play 3 balls then get more as I score, etc, rather than having my ball sucked into the black hole before advancing to the next level. Otherwise, it's over too quick and I'll look for something else to play. The graphics are very nice, love the paintball splats. It has potential, just need to develop it a bit more.

Exceeding my expectations.. I really can't say much. The game never lags, the graphics are great, the colors that get splattered around your screen is satisfying, and this game is a great way to have fun. I highly recommend this game. Try it yourself, it will be worth it.

Awesome Game, Unresponsive Controls. Amazing game! I love everything about it except the awful unresponsive controls. In any pinball style game i have ever played on iOS you can touch almost anywhere on the left or right half of the screen to activate the flipper, but for whatever reason there is a small circle that activates the flipper in this game. Awful UX choice. Its a really amazing game but the control scheme is triggering.

😊. Just play it:) I hate thoughtless arcade games for mobile- but this one isn't like a regular time-buster! The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay *just* unique enough to make you want to play more. The fact that you make "art" as well as music while simultaneously playing pinball is really fun. Perfect for short gameplay. Perfect for replay ability:) I recommend it!!

Gorgeous w/odd gameplay loop. First off, I love that this comes at a reasonable price, with zero ads and no content locked behind microtransactions (aside from consumables, iirc). That right there is 5-star worthy these days… Otherwise, it’s absolutely gorgeous, aesthetically plays well to the strengths of a digital medium, and is easy to pick up wherever, whenever; it’s also sufficiently tricky, while being flexible towards more relaxed styles of play. I’m docking one star, however, for two shortcomings in particular: 1.) each table is treated as an isolated puzzle, which is fine, but given there’s no way to seamlessly continue playing (painting?) once a table is “completed”, and no way to progress to the next puzzle without backing out into a menu first, the flow is just… all wrong, not at all what one would want for a pinball game. 2.) There's zero customization available, leaving you with the same cardboard brown + primary colors throughout the game, which gets repetitive and uninspiring far too quickly for a game that sells itself on its artistic merit. If those two issues were fixed, this would be an easy 5 stars. Nevertheless, it’s certainly still an easy recommendation.

Controls don't respond. I find it really frustrating and impossible to play when you press the screen (in the correct areas) and the flippers do squat.

Awesome. I love the style and gameplay. Beautiful

Amazing. I love this game you should really get. Very basic game rules so it is quite relaxing. Such a creative idea

Amazing game.. Splash, swoosh, ding and bang you score a level. Very entertaining and interesting pinball concept. I have been waiting for a long time for a nice pinball game on iOS and there you go, INKS is the answer.

Totes amaze. This game is so cool. 😎 There is nothing better than a fun 🤗entertaining 🤳🏻app like this. It is totes amaze 😜and I think everyone should👍🏻get it. It just keeps going on and on 🤔the levels never end. 😃YAY!! 😉

Relaxing fun and pretty. Enjoyable game that get better and better without getting too hard to be fun. Quite relaxing to play

Surprisingly addictive and fun. There's something satisfying about having the ink spray everywhere and the ball leave trails of ink behind on the board. A well executed game! Worthy of its Apple Design Award.

Slow and Choppy!!!!. Even on my iPhone 6 Plus, this game is slow and choppy and stutters on occasions. Playing it makes the phone heat up and it chews through battery. It is also a 300+MB download. This is inexcusable for several reasons, but mainly because it's just 2D, and because it was an App Store featured app. It baffles me how apple can recommend an app that plays choppy on devices that are 1 year old. It also baffles me how the developers managed to make this game so slow and choppy and bloated, considering the super simple graphics and minimal sound effects. Did they use uncompressed TIFF files for graphics? And uncompressed WAV for audio? What's going on? This game should be running SUPER FAST. FIX IT PLEASE!!!

Lovely and accessible. Easy to learn, fun to play with great audio and visual aesthetics

Runs perfectly but ADD FEATURE!. Idk about other people getting frame drops, i'm loving this game but i'd like one feature - PLEASE add tilting! Just let me shake the phone gently left or right to jut the ball a little bit

Wow!. It's been a while a nice game like this came up. Keeps you calm while you play at the same time entertaining and aesthetic !

Not worth paying for.. The flippers are not very responsive for me, and sometimes it doesn't register that my finger is there. Gets boring after 2, and I just want free play with an exciting table (one with the same concept but with bumpers, smaller table, etc) This would have been okay for 99c, but not for $3. The colours are beautiful and love that they create lines and patterns but I'd rather pick when I want it to end the level.

Wow. For an iPad/iPhone game they really done a good job designing the levels and the game engine, the game looks and feels very professional and smooth I really recommend this game for people who like relaxing games.

It's alright. It's a good pin ball game that has pretty good controls. Depends on what phone you have. But the one thing that flopped is that it's not online. Nor much levels, some levels are way harder then others and it's all around the place. Overall, Not bad but improvements are needed

Stunning. Very pretty and easy to play. No pressure or lives just pretty graphics and smooth game play

Aesthetically pleasing. Wow.. a stunning take on the classic pinball. Extremely attractive and surprisingly engrossing. Have had no issues with control lag so far. Nice little distraction from the real world.

Fun, relaxing and artistic pinball!. I love the fact there is no score to worry about but just simple objectives that in the process of completing you create a beautiful mix of coloured line work. If you gave Picasso a pinball machine and told him about paintball this game is your result. Freaking sweet!

Good idea but..... The execution leaves a lot to be desired, when using the flippers kept on bringing up the apple menu thingy...

Colourful Fun!. Great game with some challenging levels - love how the board gets painterly as you try and get the last pot of colour!!

Nice idea but poorly executed.. Frame rate stuttering on a new iPhone was the first thing to ruin this for me. But long term it's that ideas are staggered out so much through the stages you get bored trying to get to any interesting stages right at the end. That and the sound design is completely uninspired. Feels like a waste of an opportunity all round. Regret spending money on it.

Simple and fun. Thanks for this awesome game

Beautiful animations and smooth game play. Very relaxing!. Love this game! Really beautiful art work!

Unplayable. Long-standing bug unaddressed by the devs makes the paddles unresponsive, please fix!

Fun game but with one annoying problem. I recently purchased this game and I find it enjoyable except for one problem: Whenever I tap it sometimes seems unresponsive

Beautiful. Best iphone game ive played in a long time, gorgeous to look at, great to listen to and extremely easy to get addicted. Worth the $1.49 and no shortage of levels either 👍👍

Love this. Lovely game, great details and a beautiful interface! The only thing I find irritating is the tick cta being on the left rather than right 😉

Simple. Lovely. Relaxing. Perfect combination of automatic drawing with an inky pinball and playing a pinball machine. Scores are determined by how many splodges of watery ink you can trigger without losing a ball. Oddly satisfying and relaxing at the same time. Highly recommended.

Yep. Get it

Nice. Ball physics could be improved. Levels are completed quickly and I don't think there will be much replayability but overall a very nicely crafted and colourful game that is entertaining while it lasts.

Relaxing. This game is very relaxing and beautiful, with a simple objective. But Sometimes it's a bit slow but very rarely. (Probably because I have an iPhone 5s)

Beautiful relaxing fun. Challenging and visually engaging.

Works well. Works well, stable, fluent on my iPhone 7plus, a good change fromy regular gaming.. And it is free from the Apple app so def no regrets here..

Fun. It's a lot of fun!!! Love the colour in the game!!

SPLASHHHHH!!!. Downloaded the App Free, not knowing what the game was or if I would even use it. My 12 year old loves it! We play challenges and have fun finishing each stage. Different, colourful and fun!

Couldn't be happier. such a great game with vibrant calming colours. I never pay for games but I'm glad I did for this one.

Brilliant. Really brilliant game, especially for the price. Intuitive, beautiful, and addictive. Highly recommended.

Nice at first then disappointing. This game is really nice, but not worth the money. I finished all the levels in 2 hours and then found out I needed to pay more money to unlock the rest. Seriously? Plus my iPhone 6 gets crazy hot and the game drains the battery surprisingly fast, so much so that I don't bother to keep playing.

Beautiful and simple. A very fun way to distract myself from assignments. The sounds and visuals are beautiful!

Yeah pretty good. Pretty good...

Addictive. I have not stopped playing for hours I am so addicted to this game great distraction of you are trying to quit smoking

FIX THE PADDLES PLEASE. This game is really interesting and fun. I especially love how the ink splatters from its capsule depending on hard the ball hits it. The way the ball trails ink is also very captivating and it’s interesting to see how your “picture” turns out after a game. HOWEVER the paddles in this game move so erratically. The sensitivity of the paddles are terrible, in some stages the paddles lag when tapped and in others they simply DO NOT work. I really enjoy this game but for the love of all pinball goodness, FIX THE SICKENING PADDLES!! I have gone from loving this game to shuddering at the sight of it. Please, if you guys care at all about your game or the community that is forming, please fix the paddles. I have read many reviews talking about the paddles and I still purchased the game thinking it would be fixed. So please do something about this.

Fun to play.. Fun to play.

Great. Totally pointless but really relaxing. Wasted hours!

Boring. A different take on pinball, but...yawn.

L💙Ve this game. Being an Artist and an avid gamer this game has fast become my favourite game. On iPad or iPhone it's a beautiful and challenging game to play.

Worth the money!. This game is incredibly relaxing and fun! I love it, and it was definitely worth what I paid.

Relaxing, Love this game!. I very rarely pay money for a game, but when i saw inks i just couldn't resist. This game is extremely relaxing for me, i love the way the colors blend and explode as if it were actual ink, and how the trails the ball leaves behind fade and run out of ink. The sounds to this game make it even more calming, the piano notes played when you hit an object, the little tinkle of the ball, everything about this game makes me happy. I can't think of a single thing i don't like about it. If you are wondering whether to buy this game or not, trust me, it's worth it. 👌👌👌

Pinny.. Great to play without points

Great. Great app soooooo much fun!!!

Controls OMG. Unresponsive control issues cripple what would otherwise be a great game. This is essentially pinball..reflexes and controls are everything. If there's lag..forget it.

Would have gladly paid. I got this game for free during it's time as Apple's app of the week but I would have gladly paid for it had I discovered it earlier.

Soothing. Great game to just slow your mind down. Really enjoy it. And it's beautiful.

Beautiful UI. I like it for the aesthetics.

Level creator !!!. The game is awesome !! And so satasfying !! Can you please make a level editor ? I would love you so much !!!!!! Please 💕💕💕

Love it!. So relaxing :)

Nice. Nicely put together. Interesting take on pinball. Not stressful to play by any means (well, I guess sometimes trying to get that last little colour bit can be tad frustrating). Enjoyable overall. Kinda reminds a bit of apps like Monument in a way.

Beautiful and fun!. Like I said!

Very relaxing.. Magnificent game to relax.

Nice distraction game. Great game to pass the time and enjoy the splats. Highs of the perfect shot and frustration of missing it by just the tiny bit. Can be played without internet connection - a plus on flights and saves data.

Pinball with a twist. This is a unique pinball game without the repetition of playing the same level all the time

Not good for iPads. Only works in portrait mode, so it’s not suited for an iPad (have to detach keyboard and flip to play). Also, the flipper controls are too close to the edge of the iPad screen, so if you aren’t exact, you end up swiping the app closed. Which ends your level without a score and you have to start all over again. Poor ergonomics for iPads. Can’t recommend.

Beautiful game. So beautiful

superbe!. so aesthetic!

Please add more. Way too short really cool

Fun and relaxing. Nice stylization as well

Very fun. Nice

Pretty and fun. I like it

It’s fun but glitchy. I have trouble with the flippers being unresponsive very frequently. It’s a great game but very frustrating when you miss a shot because the flipper doesn’t even move when you want it to.

Simple, beautiful, great. An elegant take on pinball, which can also help boost accuracy with the paddles & ball.

controls. Fun unique game. But on my iPhone 8, if I tap too close to the left edge of the screen it doesn’t register the left flipper properly. There is a little delay. I have to make sure I don’t tap too close to the edge. Only on the left though, right side works fine. I see that Inks+ got an update a year ago that claims to fix this….. is the regular Inks all abandoned?

Not optimized for iPhone X. Screen is distorted (zoomed-in incorrectly) on iPhone X. I guess it’s not properly optimized.

Nice game. Good stuff

Just downloaded, you will never delete 🙃. As I said.

Amazing!. I just bought it 15 minutes ago, and it looks amazing. Nice ui, cool colours. Recommended

Boring. I can’t believe I paid for this. Utterly boring and it is not ergonomically designed, it gets painful rapidly, even if you play on an iPhone 7 Plus. I can’t imagine how it feels on a smaller screen!

Beautiful game but burns through batteries. A clever spin on classic pinball with gorgeous splashy colours. However eats through batteries quickly on 6S.

Looks bad. The paint/ink is pixelated? Overall not very entertaining.

Apple TV. Ce serai plaisant de pouvoir y jouer sur apple Tv!!!!!!! P.s. Petit jeu plaisant

Paintball not Pinball. As an actual pinball game it's pretty boring and not very challenging. It's just really gimmicky. Once you get all the colours the game is over. The only real value to the game is to see what different types of patterns and images you can create. If you don't care at all at getting a high score and get to the black pinballs, making patterns can be really fun. It depends on what type of game experience you want from a pinball game. For me this is not the pinball game experience I am looking for. Knock yourself out and give it a try.

beautiful and enjoyable. a pleasure to play

I love it. This game is so beautiful and great to relax to

Fun game, but.... This is a very fun game, nice job guys, but there's one small problem: I'd imagine that most people will play this for relaxation and stress relief, however I found that some levels, mainly one with those black holes, gives unforgiving difficulty spikes which can stress out some players, or at least they stressed me out a little. I would enjoy this game a little more if you made those levels a little easier by, I don't know, making the black holes a little smaller or easier to get out of maybe? Other than that, very cool game!

So addictive. Too much fun and so colourful!

Hey. Awesome 😎

Very nice game!. I would give 5 stars, but playing the game always make my iPhone very hot for some reason, it doesn't happen with other games.

Lovely game. Something about it is so enjoyable

Unresponsive flipper. The game is great but the right flipper is very unresponsive and it makes the game pretty unfair to play.

Fun but a little broken. A lot of fun and challenging. However, there's a dead-zone for the paddles on the iPhone 7 Plus that prevents you from making a paddle work. Tapping to the left and the right of the paddles sometimes doesn't work. Ruins the fun :(

Extremely draining on the battery. Fun and pretty game. You don’t really need the power ups to complete it, lots of trial and error. My huge issue is the drain on the battery. Approx 10% per 5 min of play. And that’s on an iPhone 6s.

Slow game. Great game if you are patient. 1 level took me 36 minutes to finish.

Ink. I like it. It is a good stress relieve i think

Love it. Nice relaxing game

Low frame rates. Game would be great if it wasn’t from the low frame rates issue on iPhone X. Also the triggers are unresponsive from time to time. Quite frustrating.

Great game. Really enjoying it.

Impossible balls. Sometimes I think this game is unfair. If the ball goes straight down the middle then it is impossible for the paddles to get it. I was about to get a star at the end of a level but then it did the impossible ball “thing” a few times and made me get a black at the end. I know pin ball is sposed to be like that but it gets really frustrating and makes me not want to play it 🥶 .Still an awesome game! So addicting! 😂 LOVE IT!!!!

Right paddle glitch. There is a glitch with the right paddle where it doesn’t move at times. Otherwise this is a five star game.

Me likey. Wooo

Good app. It's very good

One of the best free games out there. I concur with many of the previous reviews: a well-made game with excellent visuals, great sound feedback, and tight controls. I wouldn't have paid for zen pinball is I knew this existed... /:

Beautiful. Very good

Good game. If you feel stressed, should play this game to release it. You would definitely feel better. :)

Creative concept. They had a for free app of the week so I said why not give it a try. They used a unique way to play the game and it's also very colorful. Lots of levels👍🏻

Original but Annoying. Some levels are incredibly easy and others are much more difficult, but the fact that the right flipper doesn't always respond and the ball drains is frustrating. It doesn't work as designed. It would be like Scrabble accepting the word "terible". Just terrible.

Beautiful. Love this game Beautiful colors and simplistic gameplay. Perfect for when you're just trying to relax but still challenging enough to keep you engaged.

A Steal with the Holiday Discount. I only have one suggestion. If you know your not going to pass a level with a Star you should be able to immediately start said level over again. Thanks, The pinball wizard

Thank you, Apple!. If this had not been made the free app of the week, I probably would not have ever seen it or downloaded it! I love this! I love the colors and the artwork you create with each game! Definitely a keeper!

Fun AND gorgeous. Classic computer game pinball with a beautiful twist: splatters of paint when the ball hits its targets. Great mechanics, gorgeous art, and a well balanced increase in difficulty as you progress through the levels. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Game. This one is a great game to get lost in, and the graphics are beautiful. I love it enough to use this as my first review ever and I've been an Apple user for over a decade.

Very good.. I will keep this simple. Great game, relaxing, not that difficult but still fun, very thought out. Great job making this!

Simply. Amazing.. Love it!! I'm addicted and I just started playing. Free app of the week and I'm very glad I decided to give it a try!! The developers of this game knocked it out of the park.

Attractive game, Huge power drain. The game works well enough. The basic levels are challenging and visually appealing, but it drains the battery and hats the phone faster than hi-def simulation games. Fix the power problems and I would gladly give it five stars.

Intelligent merge of art and pinball.. Intelligent merge of art and pinball. There are recommended goals, or you can choose to hide it and just play with the colors. I love that i can hide it if I'm playing casually.

Gorgeous. I love the simplicity of this game. There’s nothing crazy or unexpected to ruin the gameplay. Using the classic game of pinball, reducing the blinking lights and weird points, and applying beautiful graphics was a trifecta of game genius. What a success!

Addictingly addicting!. The added paint just makes a classic game, pinball, that much more enjoyable....along with added features to help you with your game!

Pinball with WHAT!?!?. I like how you said “Pinball with a splash of color. That’s true, but not the end. State of Play games are based on realistic physics because they test. For example, one of the delvelopers tested inks to see how they would combine. This game has models and a splash of INKS.

Not smooth with iPhone X. I used to love this game on my iPhone 6plus. Upgraded to iPhone X and each time you hit the left lever/paddle it seems to activate the haptic engine and The game stops and I suddenly find myself on the start page. Ultra frustrating.

Downloaded by my son, played by me.. Really loving this game. The last game, the origami themed one, was really awesome. So I'm super happy with both, all around easy going good times.

Beautiful and great idea BUT..... I bought this game because it looked like a ton of fun and, visually it was pretty to look at. However the controls need lots of work. It’s PINBALL!!!! So you would think that the tap to toggle the flippers would be super responsive right? Nope. Not at all. Most of the time you lose the ball because the don’t respond... hope they update it because I paid for this game and it would be cool if it actually worked.

Wish You Could Restart. It’s an amazing game! But I get rid of and redownload old games, and this one calms me so it’s nice. From my past few times my completion is still on there. It gets annoying when I want to replay it and can’t.

Keeps you wanting more. The more you play this game the more you can't put it down.........just one more level!!

Could have been great... The idea and aesthetics are awesome. The problem is, I constantly get delayed or no response, specifically from the right flipper. This means I’m fighting the game itself and it becomes unbelievably irritating. It’s a shame; this game could’ve been great. Instead it’s all looks.

Fun game but lags and glitches. It’s really fun, artistic, and relaxing, but can you guys fix the lag for the paddles? When I tap the screen the paddles quite often (at least once every game) don’t even move or lag.

Attention developers. 1, I love this game so much please make a second one. 2, I’m playing on an iPad Pro 9.7 and it’s new and the iPad gets really hot when playing this game. Not sure why but I’m sure the beautiful graphics play a role lol

Brilliant - I would have paid. Had I understood the gameplay and known how fluid and on point the controls were I would have paid for this game vs getting it free.

Ignore the fake reviews... This could be a seriously cool game. But apparently the dev's thought 1/2 *ssed pinball & 1/2 *ssed paintball combined would be a great idea. Sadly wrong. Boring on both ends. Like Stateofplay's other games the graphics look nice & the controls are sharp. But I'd only play this almost game if I was a chimp in the zoo & I was out of poo..

Challenging, artful, and joyful!. I am not attached to this game! Every aspect of it is beautifully crafted and brilliantly executed to ensure maximum delight as you play. I cannot thank the developers and artists enough for creating this little treasure!

Great way to relax. Even though it is an easy game to learn, it does require good timing and attention. A great way to relax at the end of the day. I love the incredible use of colors. It really adds a lot to the visual aspect of the game!

Simple Design = Simple Fun. I downloaded this because it was the free app of the week. Which is how I will rate the game as it was free. It's a very simple game. Simple can be good in many cases. Graphics are fluid and well done. My only complaint is that the game frequently misses my input/touch for the left flipper. Which makes a pinball game extremely frustrating.

New Favorite Game!. This game is absolutely gorgeous and one of the most well-designed games I have seen on the app store! I highly recommend it!

Beautifully creative. I use this game as a mind break from my heavy workload. It's a nice way to be creative while playing a game. It saves all your game plays and creates a nice little collection! There is a lot of variations as well. Easy and relaxing!

Amazing and great. Love this game but glitches and I don’t care about it I love this game so download it and it will get your time off and it will be fun and great for art too and it is great fun to play and no adds great fun and great l love this game and I think you will love it too.

Very entertaining. Honestly I really liked this game! The graphics are great, it's very responsive, and the levels are simple yet challenging. A for sure 5 stars.

Addicting App!. This is very challenging. Starts off easy and as it progresses gets harder. The more you take to get all the inks the more ink the ball will roll around with the ink on it! You'll have very creative art! Not one pattern of the ink is like anyone else's.

Great game. Great game but the pAuse button is kind of annoying. The top half of your screen is the button. I'm always accidentally hit it. Other than that this game is great

Beautiful and entertaining. I decide to try out the game and suddenly it’s been two hours.

I like it so far 😊. Lovely colors and simple game play for the most part, I've only had it a few hours so hopefully this keeps me occupied or I'll delete it like all previous games.

Really cool would love an HD release on pc. Really cool game. Like their other games the art and sound design is amazing. If an HD version came out on steam with a custom level editor and some bonus level packs I would totally buy it.

Pretty but imperfect. Flipper response is occasionally flawed, meaning it won't go when you tap the screen. It fires half a second later when the ball has fallen down the bottom. iPhone 7, so that's not a hardware limitation. Also I've seen a few instances, in limited playing time where the ball physics seem off, weird bounce. Also, no bump? I realize that would involve potential tilts, but that's pinball. I like the paint explosions based on velocity & color ideas for trails and the perfect execution stars.

Beautiful!. I love playing this game!!! I could play it for hours!! This game is basically a ping pong game with colors!! I love it! All i wanna say is if there was music playing in the background, it would Be superb!!

Somewhat boring. This game is somewhat boring because it ends levels before you really get to do anything. There's nothing within control that you can do when the hole opens up and ends your level. If you like pinball games like I do, you'll be very frustrated by this!

I like it but. Right now when ever I complete the level the game crashes and in stead of a picture of the level it shows a question mark

Love the game but. I really love the game ! Honestly relaxing , but I don't like it crashes so often . Please fix it , other than that it's an amazing game . It's really hard to find good games like this .

Missed my train stop. I'd give six stars if I could, but I had to dock one because I was playing when I should have been de-training. Classic millennial, amirite? But seriously, I will need to be reimbursed for that time.

Wow!. Beautifully designed and good gameplay. I'm going to fill up my phone storage with images of all those paint splatters 😂

I love this app so much. I am seriously obsessed i got this today and I have finished the first level already you definitely should get this amazing app

Simply Mystifying 👍🏻. I ❤️ this game and got addicted to it really fast this game is awesome I definitely recommend it im happy 😊 it's free and I think however is reading this review will love it 😍!!!

Pretty but...... I wanted to like this game because I read the story behind the creators and as an artist I respect their creativity. Thought the game would be fun and pretty. It was sort of pretty but it was boring. I thought there would be a lot more involved. Disappointed. Deleted the app within a half hour. Waste.

Sophomoric. This game is a perfect example of poor difficulty design. It takes a pleasant and simplistic pinball experience and fails to expand the players' toolset, instead demanding hilariously unreasonable precision. The only counter players have is two power-ups, with the slow motion aim one eliminating all skill and tension from the game. This game feels unfinished.

It's a Wonderful Free Game. This combines pinball with a physics puzzle and colors. It's really a delight to play. Sometimes, when I hit a color, the game freezes for a moment to process the paint splatter, but it hasn't been bothersome enough to really annoy me. Awesome job, game devs. :)

Laggy flippers, otherwise, just ok.. This game is fun enough, a very artistic and mellow take on pinball. A+ aesthetics, low replay value. I’m experiencing some buggy behavior on an iPhone 7 - I find that the flippers are often laggy when I’m hitting the ball, which often causes me to lose that ball. Would be 4 stars from me if the flipper responsiveness was reliable.
