💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Get rid of your BOA, WFARGO, Etc checking and savings, aspiration is the way to go.. Like everyone else I have had a checking and savings account with Bank of America for as long as I could have an account, they charge you hidden fees every once in a while because they change their rules without telling you and on top of that you were in virtually zero interest rate. Well aspiration is probably the best thing that’s happened for checking and savings in decades, iron 1% interest on my checking account I can earn up to 3% interest on my savings account no hidden fees no charges I can use any ATM on the planet and they’ll reimburse me the fee they charge I can make my check deposits for my phone it’s everything Bank of America and the others can do except they’re not trying to screw you over. I highly recommend making the switch. It’s free🖖

Aspiration Plus doesn't deliver. I really wanted to like this fin tech product because its environmental values resonate with mine. So when they offered the aspiration plus subscription last year with 10% back at places I support like Blue Apron, I jumped on the bandwagon. The problem is I wasn't getting the cash back for BA automatically credited to my account, so I had to call each month to get a manual credit. I understand we were in the middle of a pandemic then, but fast forward over a year later and the problem still isn't resolved? This is unacceptable. I’ve reached out multiple times via phone and e-mail with no resolutionNowadays, I've waited on the phone to speak with an agent for over 1 HOUR, so I'm losing precious time I could be using to do something else. Oh, and "we'll hold your place in line" doesn't work either. Really disappointed in this banking product all together which makes their paid product hassle-some and frustrating. Please fix Blue Apron cash back for paying subscribers. I’m really thinking of just cancelling Plus at this point.

3 months and still counting. Aspiration is a decent bank to use... They are working towards great causes and for the most part they work really well. Unless you need to dispute a transaction. Back in March I filed an dispute and it is currently June and I have not received any updates on my dispute. In fact everytime I call or email about the dispute, they tell me the look at disputes in order and please be patience. I don’t see how 60 days for a dispute is even seen as reasonable. What this translates to me is if my card gets stolen and someone uses a large amount of balance before i catch it, that money will be gone and a dispute would take forever to process. Aspiration is a cool bank to use but don’t make it your primary or secondary bank. Maybe in time they will grow and this will be a non issue but as of June 3rd it takes them over 60 days to address a dispute about 100 and some odd dollars. Be careful...

Decent with a few issues. They have all the services you need and the service is decent if needed. I like their mission. I love the online card. The interest rate on savings is good. The thing I really don’t like is the app. You don’t have the option of making notes or all the sorting, filtering or search options like most bank apps. Also they are very slow to credit deposits and it takes them forever to even post interactions. The balance is usually right but you don’t know what’s been deducted. They eventually may show up as pending but that’s after at least a day or two. This has led me to forget or confuse what charges are outstanding and become overdrawn on multiple occasions. Thankfully they don’t charge anything for NSF but vendors do. Sadly for these reasons I’m looking for another socially responsible institution that has their stuff together a little better.

I like this Bank and App but.... Every time I open the app to check on things, the refer a friend ad comes up, literally every 10 to 20 seconds! If this is not fixed I will cut my losses and move my money somewhere else! I’ve already lost a little money trying out their invest and IRA accounts but I was in it for the long run and wasn’t worried about that however the plant a tree by inviting a friend is getting really old! I’ll give it until the end of next month for them to fix it. Besides that everything has been good, great clean online bank and I have used more of them. Simple Bank is my favorite so far but they don’t have investment or IRA accounts. I also like the do good investing for someone that doesn’t know a lot or have the time to learn about investing. Update: October 9th 2020 So far looks like the issue is fixed, also my investments are in the green! 10/10 I would recommend the online bank!

So disappointed. I just signed up for the Spend/Save account. What I didn’t realize is that I had a pending application for the Redwood fund from 4 years ago. What this means is that every time I open the app, the first thing I see is my pending application. What I really want to get to is my Spend and Save accounts but I have to scroll down below the giant “complete your application” part every time. This just won’t do for an app I plan to use multiple times a day. I wrote support to see if they could cancel my pending application. They told me “sorry, no.” Completely unacceptable in this day and age when you can open an account anywhere and customer service is king. I wrote them saying that if it couldn’t be cancelled, I would like to close my aspiration accounts entirely since it’s so annoying to use the app. A different customer service rep then assured me that my pending application could be cancelled. 3 days went by and it was still there. When I wrote them to check in on status, yet another, different customer service rep replies, saying she’d be happy to close my aspiration account completely. What the heck? The amount of time and energy I have already spent to try and get this resolved is too much. So frustrating! And what a shame, seems like good products but I am unable to use them. Taking my business elsewhere.

From Good to Terrible - Disappointing. I expected some hiccups when I signed up with Aspiration last year going from a big to “small” bank, but thought things could only get better and had high hopes for the kind of bank they “aspired” to be. I was wrong. I have had multiple account issues over the year including extremely slow transactions or balance updates and it was difficult/disappointing that they do not have 24/7 support, but at least during business hours they were easy to get a hold of and helpful. In the last month, it has completely fallen apart. They forced everyone to transfer their accounts and get new account numbers which creates a serious hassle having to switch EVERYTHING over from electric bills to car insurance payments. The actual money transfer was extremely confusing and my last paycheck was direct deposited into my old account due to an update delay by my employer. That money is inaccessible and I called Aspiration where I was on hold for 45 mins before being autoforwarded to voicemail. I did this twice and left two messages and ALSO EMAILED - all before 10am MST. Days later and I still do not have my paycheck or even an email or call from this “bank.” Extremely disappointing...

Customer Service Need Improving. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one at this point is simply because I still believe in the values of this company, but the customer service has been terrible thus far. I tried calling the main customer support line to report that my debit card never showed in the mail, but both times the line basically hung up on me because they couldn’t process my issue after going through the whole guided list I guess?? I sent a message through the website that was completely cordial, pointing out a few other issues I’ve been experiencing with this bank on top of the missing debit card and the customer service rep that responded to me was a total jerk!! So dismissive of the problems I was having… uh, yeah dude, I know that I was “timed out for inactivity” on your website, my point was that I was timed out WHILE I was actively using your website; and yeah dude, I know that the issue I had with erroneous pending transfers was rectified, but that doesn’t mean that wasn’t an alarming error in your system which I figured would be good to let your team know occurred etc.. I want very much to like this bank, I really really do. Please work on your customer service!!! And don’t throw one Ernesto M. a raise any time soon…

Very concerning…. Now that I’m reading CURRENT reviews in depth, I am concerned with the fact that this site keeps sending me on a loop. It keeps asking me to confirm my account with my SS#, so I do. Then I get a pop up stating that I already have an account & to log in. OK…. So I do, with my email & password that I created the first time, then it sends me RIGHT BACK to the SAME page asking me to confirm my social… I do NOT have another account with them under MY social security number! I can’t even get to an account page, because as soon as I log in, it just keeps asking for my social, giving me the same pop up with the same message over & over again. There’s not even an option to log out or do anything on this page! So I reload to the main site, go to the log in page, log in AGAIN… the SAME page with “enter your social security number”, the SAME pop up message about “confirm you entered your social correctly, because you already have an account with us”… so this company literally has my personal information locked away somewhere, supposedly with my Social Security number as well, but I can’t access MY account information & I haven’t even received a card?? This is straight shady business!!!

DONT DO IT. DONT DO IT. I thought it was a good idea but when I came into fraudulent charges on my account they are NOT HELPFUL. They throw shade at Chase bank for whatever they feel, yet chase doesn’t mind giving me my money back when a charge is unauthorized. I disputed charges back in December and did not hear back. I called again concerned about more charges and they refuse to help in any way. No new card. No new account. No money back. The customer service pretends they’re helping in all actuality they’re lying. This is an important feature to banking. I need to know my money is secure and it just was not and is not. Upon calling again the woman I spoke to was rude, I attempted to help her understand the reason for my call as I was being charged multiple times in a month for an unauthorized charge. Customer service just tells you that you did make the charge and maybe you just don’t remember. ABSOLUTELY NOT.. At least do an investigation, but no they would rather argue with you than help you. Ridiculous.

Terrible.. Depositor beware, I’ve had nothing but problems with this bank. They recently switched routing numbers and failed to tell me about this in time, so that a whole series of payments bounced. The tiny amounts I made an interest pailed in comparison to the returned items I had to pay. No apologies from this arrogant organization, customer service is as bad as it can get. I went back to Bank of America, the Walmart of banks, because at least they’re stable. Update: I just received feedback from the review I posted that they doubt they would have changed the routing number without giving notice. The problem is, the notice was not provided in time to coordinate payment arrangements using succeeding sponsor bank. Accordingly, I believe Aspiration is nothing more than a slick marketing company, without being their own ‘real’ state -chartered bank with federal reserve access. Have they been a properly organized bank, they would have been able to manage linking pre-store transactions to a succeeding routing number, for at least a number of months. I stand by my review that this is a terrible organization. Customer service is just awful. Stay away. I had so many late fees, and bounced payments because of their botched handling, and they did not cover any of these bounced payment fees that were not my fault. But for the grace of God, I caught them in time to prevent being reported late on the credit bureau, however. They should be barred from doing business.

Great people doing a great thing. + ☦️. I am new to Aspiration but I love everything they are doing. They seem like an amazing bank. I know any hiccups they might be having in these other comments I see are just growing pains. I hope they can stay positive and altruistic despite any negativity coming their way. I know everything good that comes with trials is a lot more likely to remain, whereas good things that come easy are easily lost, so the Eastern Orthodox Christian Saints say. I know they will do well because they are trying to right by people and God always rewards that. Not just right but truly right, everything I’ve seen from them is righteous, I hope they stay on that path. Truly they will be blessed. + ☦️

Worthless bank with useless staff. Aspiration is one of the most worthless and quite frankly, utterly useless “banks” I have ever encountered. Thankfully my unfortunate mistake of signing up with Aspiration; will be other people’s gain. I will have no problem describing what a pathetic joke the feeble attempt at providing customer service Aspiration and its intellectually deficient staff provide. I can only imagine how it would be nothing less than a total embarrassment if I had to admit to people; that I worked at, or was in any way associated, with such a disheveled, and unbelievably pathetic wreck of a company, that Aspiration truly is. Seriously. I would say that perhaps Aspiration can bilk their investors out of more money so that their totally incompetent and worthless robot customer service staff could be trained on what “customer service” actually means. Alas, I believe that would just be an exercise in futility. I simply cannot wait to be the first person in line to attend the party that will be held upon the news of this company’s inevitable, and 100% deserved, abject failure. I can hardly contain my glee because the thoughts of Aspiration being dissolved into total non-existence is a delight of which I will always be ready to enjoy. Always. TL;DR - ASPIRATION AND ITS USELESS ROBOT CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF ARE GARBAGE - JUST LIKE THEIR “PRODUCT”. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUD!

Has promise but needs to fix things. I have been using the checking account for a little while now. In general it’s a nice service and it is great that they refund up to 5 transactions. However there’s a few things that are frustrating. I have made many attempts to reach out to customer support and haven’t once received an answer. Deposits take a Very long time to clear and considering the fact that there’s no physical bank it can be a bit nerve-wracking to ship money away and not hear about it for a week or even 2. And, there’s no tablet version of the app, which is a common problem but always deserves pointing out. However, I do note that this is a free service. So, I don’t judge it too harshly, otherwise they might start charging fees I order to make these fixes. So, for now it’s okay but I encourage upgrades if possible.

What is this shadiness?. First off, they will send a debit card, and it will work like a debit card should. There are no fees unless you want to pay some amount. The rest, however, is a shady bait-and-switch operation. You want to feel good thinking that Aspiration doesn’t invest with unsavory entities like big oil, provided Aspiration is even telling the truth. Aspiration claims to give a rating for places you shop, but these aren’t readily available (I understand small businesses can’t easily be rated from afar, however). Aspiration claims to give cash back on all purchases, but that’s not true – it’s cash back on *some* purchases. When I opened my accounts, it was with the promise of interest to be earned with no minimum balance, as long as a deposit of any amount is made. After a few months, I’d earned no interest on my small deposits and balance. I checked the FAQ to find that Aspiration changed its requirement for earning interest to be a deposit of $1000 (I no longer recall if that’s the minimum balance required or if Aspiration requires $1000 in deposits monthly), and Aspiration never communicated this. Internet banks offer higher interest, so it’s not worth placing your money with Aspiration for better interest, either. It’s been disappointing, and it’s certainly not the transparent, ethical operation it claims to be. I fail to see any benefit.

Worst customer service on the planet. I am so disappointed in this bank. I need to send an urgent wire transfer, and Friday I spent two hours on hold listening to horrible music and ignoring important phone calls, only for someone to pick up the phone and immediately hang up. Today I tried again and asked for a phone call, only to get a voice Four hours later telling me sorry you missed me and basically to checkout the FAQ. The thing is, to send a simple wire I have to go through this process twice, which means even if am lucky enough to speak with a human the first time, lightning would have to strike twice for me to speak with a human a second time for the wire to go out. And last time a third and fourth time because the wire team is so incompetent that they couldn’t even send the wire Until almost a week after it was requested. My mother almost lost her home because of Aspiration incompetence and terrible customer service and wire system, and now that I have to send another wire for my mom am terrified that if it doesn’t go through my mother will lose the deposit and the house, just because I made a terrible decision to choose the bank with the worst customer service on the planet.

Best Online Banking Ever. Been using Aspiration Banking for over a year now. There is never any fees like other Brick and Mortar banks usually charge. They also refund the ATM fees for cash withdrawals. I got a offer for another card the other day, the fess were so ridiculous I was very disappointed and appalled at the fees they wanted to charge, there was a load fee of 4.95, a per usage fee for signature purchases of 1.00, and there was a per usage fee for pin purchases of 2.00, ATM balance inquire of .50, Then there was a Monthly maintenance fee of 9.95 and this is a good deal for WHO???? I know any hard working person who would actually agree to this is really desperate or is unaware of the exorbitant fees or dose not know how to read. So anyone who is willing to give half of there check to retarded fees hay just pass the money over here bad I’ll make good use of it.

Brand new member and overall satisfied. I opened an account with them about two weeks ago. Opened a spend account (checking), save account (savings at 2%APY), and a redwood investment account. My primary reason for switching was from a previous bank that was a “big bank”, and I just like the mission that this bank provides. The process to open each account was easy, although took a little longer than expected. I did have an issue activating my card when I got it in the mail on a Saturday, so by Monday morning the customer service activated it for me. They don’t work weekends for support. Apple Pay feature also requires a call to customer service, which I like for enhanced security. Not a big deal, took about a min over the phone to finalize my Apple Pay. The app itself is simple and easy to understand. My old banks app was just too busy and confusing. Gave four stars because of the slightly rocky start, and the fact that checks are held for 30 days, sometimes more if you’re a brand new customer. Other than that, everything’s great and I’m satisfied. I was VERY nervous about this bank, based on what I’ve read but since they’ve switched to this new account, it seems pretty great.

Invasion of Privacy. Do not trust!!. I tried opening an account as I am trying to get away from big banks. In my bank I have both my business and personal accounts tied to the same login. When I went to link up an external deposit account to fund aspiration I accidentally selected my business account. During the application process aspiration disabled the account and requested I send in Bank statement for that account. I told them I would not, that’s a business account I accidentally selected and to use my personal account. I said I don’t want my business account attached to aspiration at all. Even asked them to cancel my application and start over. They would do all that but they insisted I send them bank statements for an account I will not use for this company. Invasion of privacy!!!! I will not give them statements on an account that will never be sending money to this aspiration account. Their refusal to reverse that and let me use my personal account is externally disturbing!!! I do not trust any “bank” that requests info on an account that won’t be used. Why not give them my entire financial scores for everything I do while I’m at it? No thank you!!!!!!!!

Contacting Better Business Bureau. My humble check has been held for 9 days. I have a family and we are all screwed by Aspiration’s scheming. I have contacted support numerous times and the best I got was “your check will be deposited in 5 days”. Their customer service team is unhelpful, poorly trained, and dissatisfying. I would probably get more people-oriented service at a Wells Fargo. Aspiration bank is just as crooked toward their customers!! Their charity schtick is probably a scam to attract new account openers. DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK. I saw the reviews and tried to close my account but after three tries support would not help me. Two weeks later I accepted that I would have to bank with them and I deposit my monthly, official check. AFTER I deposit I’m told I will have to wait 5 business days. This is unacceptable!! When I talk to support they tell me to wait 5 days and that there is nothing they can do. 2 days later I get an email saying “thanks for depositing your check, it will be available in 5 business days.”. It has now been 9 days. I’m indebted, my family is in danger, and I have $7 to my name. Do not use aspiration bank if you want to, I don’t know, USE your money.

A feel Good Bank. I’ll keep this short and sweet. I used to bank with capital one until they decided that the Plaid verification platform was a security threat, for those of you that don’t know Plaid is a service that 98% of banks utilize to connect your account to basically any application, service, or budget app in this day and age Capital One thinks is nonsense while Chase, Bank of America, Citi, Wells Fargo and others think it’s just fine so I left for that. Aspiration is a great bank that will invest in the wellbeing of the planet what’s not to like, buying gas at the pump? Aspiration uses that purchase to buy stock in solar or wind to offset your footprint. But an organic cotton shirt, Aspiration will reward you for making the right choice. It does lack Zelle transfers but I hope that comes in the near future other than that it’s a great app

Aspiration USED TO Be Great. I don’t know what happened when they switched from being back by Radius Bank to Coastal Community Bank, but it has gone downhill fast. I have been a member with them for 9 years, and they were great when I first started with them. The customer service was on point and my issues always got resolved in a timely manner. The time difference of me being on the east coast and Aspiration being based in California has actually helped me have more time to get in touch with customer service due to me working evenings. After they switched to Coastal Community Bank, my balance has not been accurate. You’ll see my balance say $1,100 and then an $800 deposit will cause it to show as $860 or something ridiculous like that. I’ve had several check deposits in a row, totaling about $300 and my account will somehow show that it dropped from $1000 to $800 after those deposits, which makes no sense. That means I have to do guesswork while paying my bills, because I don’t actually know how much money I have in my account. I don’t know about you, but I think that knowing your actual account balance is kind of important.

Oh no, Retro. I don’t think I’ve ever rated an app before, but now the time has come. This bank/app is generally great, there are a few issues here and there, but the customer service is phenomenal. I’ve been with them from the start (the first 2 months they were in business) and quite a lot has changed, like earned interest which dropped from 2% to 1% and keeps dropping, and the updated cards when you upgrade (which people should be able to be grandfathered into), which don’t really make sense because you’re being charged that percent interest to upgrade— anyway, those are the least of my worries. This new app update where it’s like, retro is SUCH an eyesore. Whomever is in charge of UI/UX over there needs to rethink why they would want a bank of the future to look like something of the past. Bad call. If it ain’t broke, don’t break it

Best banking experience I’ve ever had!!. I opened an account with Aspiration to a personal savings account about 6 years ago. I decided not to open the account with my hometown bank because they were constantly charging me unnecessarily and taking suspicious actions so that they could charge the maximum amount in service fees. With Aspiration, I’ve NEVER had a single problem. Mobile deposits are a breeze, there are no hidden fees, I can transfer funds (for free!) at 2am if I need to, and they don’t charge me to access my own money. And I can use ANY atm for free!! I cannot recommend Aspiration enough. If I didn’t need my local bank for cash deposits, I would close my account there and use Aspiration exclusively.

Happy Customer Since 2015. Let me start off by saying that I’ve been a happy customer of Aspiration since 2015. Sure, there have been a few bumps along the way but I’ll gladly take errors made in earnest than monthly fees taken by greed from a typical U.S. bank. Having been with them for so long it’s clear that their mission extends from Andrew (CEO) down to those who are in the trenches every day, either in development, customer service, or other critical roles to keep a small but valuable set of products conveniently available for Aspiration’s customers. All of that being said, let’s not forget that these reviews on iTunes are meant to be indicative of the APP, not the bank. The app has only improved since launch and I like how it’s simple yet has all of the info needed readily accessible. The AIM feature is fun for me to use so I can check in on which merchants are doing better for the greater good than others - it helps me vote more consciously with my dollars. To summarize, both the APP and the bank are of exceptional quality.

Unfortunate the company turned out this way. I haven’t used this banking service for long, but I was very quickly disappointed in the way it turned out. I haven’t even been able to get my direct deposit set up yet it has been that recent, but I did get $10 sent to my account. When I go to check on it and thankfully find it already pending, I then also see a pending charge from the bank itself stating “Pay what is fair”. This charge just so happens to match my one $10 deposit perfectly. After looking into it I’ve found that this bank is not at all without fees as it had stated. Now thanks to their “legitimate” charge on my account I will not have the gas money I need to get to work. Quite unfortunate, and I will promptly be closing my account to avoid being repeatedly screwed over by this company. Very disappointed.

Blocked access to my money. Aspiration randomly had a need to lock down my account. A day later I receive an Email requesting to verify my identity by uploading a photo of my ID and bank statements from linked accounts. Problem is one of the linked accounts I closed and no longer have statements for. I still sent IDs and other bank statement along with a letter explaining I closed one of the accounts. 2 twos later I sent everything again. Now a werk has gone by and my account is still locked, I have bills now over due, getting charges late fees. Losing so much money because Aspiration is refusing to unlock my account. Customer support says they can’t help me because the verification department only has access. Can’t use my debit card, not sure if my direct deposit pay is even going into the account. No idea how much money I have, but I know I’m losing a lot of money because I can’t pay my bills and conduct business. Thanks a lot. Making Aspiration my primary bank was a hugely massive mistake an regret even using this Bank.

Persistent Time Zone Issue. I’ve reported this issue in the past but it still persists. If I attempt to make a transfer to an external bank right after midnight Eastern Time, I cannot schedule the transfer, likely because while the local date is now March 9, the Pacific Time zone is still on March 8. The notification I receive is that the cut-off time for transfers on the same day is 2:00 PM Pacific. Thus, even though I’m scheduling the transfer after midnight to occur on the same day, way before the cut-off time, the programming logic doesn’t recognize that the date is already different on the East Coast and throws an error. Last time I reported the issue, I was asked to reinstall the app, clear the device, submit screenshots, even though I clearly defined the problem, and frankly I couldn’t afford the time or effort to jump through hoops and fight the red tape. Please contact your developers. The BSA should be aware of this and figure out a way to remediate the problem. Thank you.

Complete trash.. I’ve had this app for less then a month. I decided to have my unemployment direct deposited to this account. I gave aspiration the direct deposit info a week before the transaction would be done. Well when payday came my money is nowhere to be found. I send an email early in the morning around 6am. After not having any response for 8 hours I call customer service. Which they tell me to call where ever the direct deposit was coming from. I did, got the trace ID and called aspiration back. Now I have to wait for them to file a dispute and they have no time frame for when I’ll see that money. I’m ON UNEMPLOYMENT, which means I’m broke currently. So how will I pay my bills!?!? Maybe the electric company will take your dispute tokens. I don’t know how this app gets 5 stars. It takes almost a full week just to transfer money from your bank account to their “bank account”.

Disappointing changes. I’ve been with Aspiration since the beginning of 2017. I’ve seen them grow and deal with plenty of hiccups, but I like what they claim to stand for so I’ve stuck it out. At the end of last year, they announced they were changing service providers so EVERYTHING changed, account numbers, routing number, debit card...EVERYTHING had to be updated with direct deposit, auto pay, etc. I was expecting that massive inconvenience to be worth a huge reward, such as a better app, faster processing time, etc. Instead things are worse! The app (which I felt they were just getting right about middle of last year) is worse than ever! It took days for them to process my paycheck and payments are very slow to appear on the record. The notations of “current balance” and “available balance” are GONE! I’m seriously thinking of finding a different bank. This changeover has not brought the promised level of quality to the banking experience.

Literally, the Best Online Bank. I love this service. They’ve made so personally I don’t even use a big bank. I don’t even use a local bank or credit union. Linked with CashApp you can do everything. The direct deposit works well. The check cashing has worked every time. If I need to add physical cash I just do it thru CashApp, where you can go to places like Walgreens or many convenience stores. I’m self employed, so it’s all easy as all my cash comes digital anyways. The processing times are lightning fast. Not only that, any time I’ve had an issue, their customer service is super fast and responsive to resolve it quickly. I’ve only had a couple times where deposit was frozen for a day because of maintenance. The card is sleek. You can plant trees based on your preferences in plant your change, which rounds up purchases. I’ve planted almost 800 trees, and got $75 in rewards back. They also have a built in investment stock in red wood forests with great ROI. The savings account has better ROI than any traditional bank I’ve seen. The list goes on… they offset your gas with carbon credits with the pro subscription. The Allpoint ATMs are free. If I need cash, I just get cash back at automated terminal at grocery stores. Long story short. Plant trees. Fast processing times. Replace your big fossil fuel powered bank. Bank on your terms.

Dont do it. In the beginning everything was fine and dandy but Dan suddenly pink started going wrong one by one. Last week my card was compromised so I had asked for a new one in today the balance cannot be seen on the app or on the website I guess the bank is having problems with everybody so they make you tried to feel comfortable by saying that you can just call them and take care of the bank business through the phone They’ve had technical difficulties in the past with me where I have deposited checks and they wouldn’t show for a while the payments take like two weeks to go through. The only cool thing about this bank is that the refund it your ATM fees when you take out money from any ATM however you have to donate at least five dollars to them in order for these perks to be active anyways right now I’m very frustrated with this bank because they are taking forever to fix their technical problem which is being able to see your account balance and to be able to make transactions like make payments oh my word is do not do it I’m going to close out this bank

UI Leaves Many Questions. This review is specifically about the lack of innovation in the data shown to users investing funds in the Redwood Fund through the app. I’ve been using the app for 3+ years and in that time the only information show to users about their Redwood Fund investment is a running list of past investments with the current share price at the top of the screen. Seeing this immediately prompts interest in historical price, yet aside from showing the number of shares purchased in small print by the transaction cost in the running list of past investments, the user has no access to any historical price/performance data of the fund. Huge window of time in which small UI updates could have been delivered the users more data, but there has been no change.

Total Scam. So they sent out a promotional email offering a $100 bonus if I complete my account setup. The email was received on April 25th. I complete my account set up and fund it with my main checking account in this same day. The conditions were to complete and find by April 30th. Have a direct deposit made and by July 15th an extra $100 would be deposited. Well come the 15th of July. Nothing. I’ve reached out to customer support several times before this and asked about the promotional bonus. These previous reps all mentioned that I’d be good to go and it should be by the 15th of July. Come the 15th I reach out once more and same answer to give it until the end of business day. Well the 16th came and I contact support agin only to have them tell me that the funds weren’t deposited to the account until the 1st of May. The money left my account the same day I processed the transfer. This means Aspiration did not deposit the funds into the account until 1 day after their promotion ended. If there would not of been enough time to qualify for the promotion why would you send the darn email. I’m glad I didn’t switch everything over to this bank. I was skeptical and I’m glad I was. This bank is a total scam. Can’t even find a way to cancel my account. I don’t want to be doing business with liars and scammers.

Was pretty good for a while. I had a relatively good experience with this bank for the most part. That is until I had the misfortune of running into nick the dimwit. I called them to follow up on an email I sent asking for a replacement card be sent to me because one of my three dogs chewed up the card I had. This swampy guy tells me my account is locked, then proceeds to lock my account after hanging up on me. He also said I would receive an email from them, but the only emails I get are to open a new account. Big ups to nick the dimwit for reminding me that you don’t have to be from Kentucky to be swampy, but it sure helps. I later called to tell him I would delete the app and ask that they stop emailing me five times a day irrelevant nonsense now that he’s gone ahead and locked up my account without cause or explanation, and this dimwit asks me for the info on my account that he locked me out. Hey dimwit: 1) if I can’t get in my account, how can I tell you what information you have in my account, and 2) yar swampy, but you probably already knew that. If someone at aspiration with a half a brain happen to read this, then maybe review nick’s conversations, because when a customer says I’m going to delete the app and write a review about the treatment from Little Nicky, the last thing that should be smarter back is “good idea.” My employees would be fired on the spot for that, but hey, it’s a swampy world out there, and good help is definitely hard to find.

READ THE FINE PRINT!!. For everyone who thought it was too good to be true, it is. From their email: "To earn 3% APY (5% APY if customer is enrolled in Aspiration Plus) interest on...balances up to and including $10,000 in any calendar month, customer must spend $1,000 or more, monthly, with their Aspiration debit card... money transfer vendors (...CashApp, Venmo...) do not qualify towards the $1,000 spend requirement. Balances over $10,000 will earn 0% APY (0.10% APY if customer is enrolled in Aspiration Plus). If the requirements are not met each month, the APY will be 0% APY (0.25% APY if customer is enrolled in Aspiration Plus) on Save Account balances up to and including $10,000” Plain language for anyone considering: the most you can get in interest is $500 a year, ONLY if you stay BELOW a $10,001 balance AND spend $1000 a month with your debit card AND pay $72 a year in fees. Also, if you read the reviews here and in Reddit threads this bank is so sketchy. So mad at nerdwallet for the recommendation.

Unreliable & poor customer service. As much as I want to like this bank because of their values, Ive ended up keeping my account at another mainstream bank because I just can’t depend on Aspiration. First, I have a check that I deposited 8 months ago that says it’s still under review. Then I stupidly tried depositing another check and got an error message saying that it couldn’t be deposited and to try again later. Rather than dealing with aspiration anymore I deposited it using mobile deposit with my other bank, and there was no issue. Then two days later, I get a notification that aspiration has processed my check deposit, which makes no sense because the app said my attempt failed and I already cashed the check elsewhere. I called aspiration to explain what happened and they were absolutely useless - didn’t listen to my problem and provided no help. Ultimately the check bounced and I was charged a fee by aspiration as a result. So I was penalized for their app/banking error. I will no longer be using aspiration to deposit checks, it’s just too unreliable! Keep your other account(s) so you can deposit checks there and transfer them to aspiration (though it also takes SO long for transfers to go through to aspiration!).

Chronic bugs in app and poor customer support. I signed up for aspiration because I care deeply about the environment and wanted to stop supporting fossil fuels in my banking. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with aspiration from start to finish. I tried about 5 times to transfer money from other accounts into my aspiration account over the course of about a month, from both the app and the website, and it didn’t work any of those times. Support told me the engineers were looking into the bug. I work in tech and the concept of not fixing a bug in a BANKING app that prevents people from getting money into and out of their account blows my mind. During this time I wrote a couple checks that ended up bouncing and costing me $70 in fees. When I asked aspiration to repay me for this they went radio silent. I haven’t heard from their support team in 3 weeks despite multiple attempts to get in touch. I fully support what they are trying to do, but the execution is way behind where it needs to be, sadly.

CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY. I’m not surprised the first review I read is a two star review about the inept customer service of this company. They offer promos for signing on with them as long as you spend a certain amount within a given time period. I could not transfer money to my account from my bank. Aspiration kept kicking it back. I called them about this multiple times letting them know I needed more time to spend the money because I couldn’t get money into my account. Everyone I spoke to said “we’re working on it” you’ll see an email with a decision soon. Soon became 4 months and no word. I called today and got irate enough to get an supervisors attention. They claim they sent an email to me and could see “I opened it but did not click a link to accept an extension for their promotion” I’ve scoured my inbox and can find no such email and if I had opened it, this review would not be happening. They say because Ii didn’t not click the link, they are not going to honor their promotion. They had no interest in helping, even though I was saying I would close my account. Close your account with Aspiration and find a brick and mortar bank that actually gives two craps, so when you have issues, you can look someone in the eyes and get your problems solved with real empathy. If you want apathy, customer service who either does not know what they’re doing or wants to just be lazy and empty promises, stay with these people.

Off-Shoring, Lack of Support for Fraud, etc.. This company was fabulous when I first went with them in 2017. I recommended them to everyone I knew. Now I’m waiting on hold for a supervisor because I’m literally being robbed by the company itself. Why? Because there’s been a security breach. And the way I found out is by Aspiration calling me(which, btw, they state they will not ever do… for security purposes..) from their own phone line, which they’re now saying there’s no record of… I am so sick of this country off-shoring. This is what happens. And I make next to nothing and rarely have more than $500 in my account. Imagine if I chose to invest..? Or if I had shared personal info with the people who called from their own phone number? This is unacceptable. I’m sorry, but there’s just no excuse for a company that is supposed to keep your money safe to have a breach that’s THIS bad, and not have a 24/7 line to call for fraud.

Behind the Times. Surprised in these days Aspiration is quite behind with some processes given available technology. It’s crazy transfers between external accounts cannot be performed on weekends. That’s like the old days of going to my brick & mortar bank. One of the biggest advances with technology was being able to make electronic transfers basically any time. Your electronic banking is not offering the advantages of electronic banking. I have two routine transfers from a long established bank & I’ve been doing them for over a year now. But it takes 3-4 “BUSINESS” days for the deposit to be available. You allow a check deposited via mobile banking to be available within 1 business day, but again allow automated, regularly scheduled, electronic transfers to take 3-4 business days. Also, your Customer Assistance is only available during standard business hours, during the standard business week, on PACIFIC time. This is not an attractive online, electronic banking model. Banking with Aspiration, as much as I love your socially conscious model, is just not a convenient method of banking for me.

Banking Done Right!. I’m so thrilled to have signed up for an Aspiration account a couple years ago and to see it has now evolved into a full checking account! I love credit unions but have been moving around the country and this new account is perfect for me. I feel great using an ethical bank that lets me bank from anywhere! The app works great and has all the modern features necessary to do mobile banking. Thank you Summit and Aspiration for creating this wonderful modern-day bank for people like me who are fed up with corporate banks. The only issue I have is, at the moment, there’s not a way to make cash deposits but I am sure that’s something that they are working on to provide in the near future.

I wish I had good things to say.. I have had aspiration for a year or so now. I enjoyed the service and the mission they stand by, but recently, I had somebody try to hack into my account. While this sounds alarming, I was able to lock my account in time. The issue now is that aspiration has launched an investigation that has kept my account locked for the past 4 weeks. Having full trust in the company, I had no reason to believe it would take this long, and my monthly bills are already due. Customer service was good at one point, but lately, I have to place myself on a waitlist and be called back after 4-5 hours! Suffice to say I could not wait that long, and I always just barely miss them. This has happened for 4 days straight now....The last few times I managed to get ahold of somebody through email, they mentioned the account was still locked and nothing else mentioned. I need access, at least to transfer funds out of my account, or anything! The situation has become increasingly frustrating, and it has truly caused me to decide whether this bank is the best fit for me going into the future once this issue is resolved.

Worst experience ever!. When I started it wasn’t too bad at all. Fast forward 3 years and it is now terrible! I had an bad charge/debit and instead of reversing the charge back to the lender as a disputed charge they did an “investigation” that took just under 90 days. Their investigation was nothing, they put the blame on me saying I didn’t prove the charge was bad and so I was paying for a charge for something I never authorized nor received anything for. I fought again and the same results, they fought me. I finally called the company the charge was from and they verified that I was correct and send me an email as proof so I could get my money back and I also found out their investigator never ever did a thing to investigate the entire time. I fought that charge for 4 months total AND I was the one who got it done!! I took ever penny out of my Aspiration account after that and I’m done. They called me a liar more then once during that 4 months. And I found out I’m not the only person with this complaint only some others they froze their accounts and would not allow access to their monies. Can you imagine you all of the sudden have no way to get or use your own money??

Mayhem migration, account balance error. I had to get a paper check for my last paycheck in order to mobile deposit it during the misleadingly termed “upgrade” Aspiration abruptly rolled out recently, and for some stupid reason it has been days and still the deposit hasn’t been reflected in my account balance, which means I can’t pay my rent on time this month all thanks to Aspiration. This “upgrade” is just a migration from one third party checking account partner to another except with that Aspiration is sneakily yanking the competitive APY they used to offer so it goes away for the checking account portion of the account, meaning you have to constantly shuttle cash to and from the spending portion to take advantage of it. Not that they tell you this since there was basically zero messaging during the rollout and customer support is virtually nonexistent. Aspiration literally contradicted its previous partner Radius on whether users would have to close their old accounts after the migration, and I still have no idea what the truth actually is on that one. Gonna be switching banks as soon as feasible, this bank has been a total nightmare.

Lack of customer support. I love the idea of Aspiration and I will keep the account because of their social and ethical components, but customer service is very difficult to access at this point. You can NEVER!! reach a person by phone at all. Then you have to wait for email responses. One deposit made almost a week ago still hasn’t shown up though it was deducted from my other account several days ago. Can’t deposit cash at ATM’s which is also disappointing. Hopefully this will change as they grow and staff themselves more appropriately to handle the volume of customers. Banks should have customer service readily available especially when you’re an in line company.

Great bank account, very easy to use. I originally opened an account with this bank because I was traveling out of the country. ATM fees back plus no fee for using your card internationally? SIGN ME UP! Now that I’m back in the US, I still use this bank. I love the green-awareness, the simplicity, the ability to use any ATM and be refunded the fees, the ability to still deposit checks even with no physical location, and the option to invest with only green-certified companies. I use to use a bank that partially rhymes with Donald Trumps favorite racist golf club and was SO happy to have found a much kinder, greener, more trustworthy bank that doesn’t charge you a fee for breathing. As long as this bank exists with its current business ethics, they’ll have my business.

Locked out of Account - 8 days and Counting. After 4 months of testing the waters with Aspiration, I decided to go ahead and use it as my primary bank. I set up direct deposit and transferred more money into my spending account. The next day I was locked out (for reasons they refuse to share), and have remained locked out for over 8 days. I’ve called customer service twice. The first told me to submit some documents and then hung up the phone on me when I asked what triggered the lock out. The second time, customer service told me they would look at my account that day (it’s been 2 days and no news yet). If new Aspiration users plan to use this bank full-time, I highly suggest you have a back-up bank or just use Aspiration as a back-up or to use them not at all. It’s not reasonable to be locked out of your bank for over a week and not have access to cash. Customer service has unfortunately not been helpful to push me out of this limbo.

Secondary account. I’ve been using Aspiration as a secondary account for quite a few years and have had some pretty good experiences thus far. Pro- they offer a cash back that’s unmatched to any debit card offer out there. Con- deposits do take a bit longer than expected unless your making a P2P deposit , those usually post within 24/48 hours. Pro- they’ve been working diligently to improve their service and the information provided on the transaction screen. Con- they are most likely missing out on customers by not offering an early deposit program like its online competitors (Varo, CHIME). Pro- they are good about reimbursing ATM fees but decided to limit the amount of fee reimbursements because some jerk withdrew their account 100+ times in a month (thanks for ruining this feature for us all)! In conclusion , I’ll continue to do business with Aspiration. I’d love to see them roll out an early deposit feature, but I don’t think that’s on their long list of improvements .

TERRIBLE!!!. It has been over 6 MONTHS from the date I opened an account. I was immediately “locked out” without explanation. I received my card in the mail and was able to activate it, yet as I tried to log in I was still “locked out”. I kept receiving an error saying “Please respond to CS email”, an email which was never received. I have reached out numerous times to get this figured out, but I just received the same general vague responses saying there’s no further information, and that as soon as there’s any information I’ll be notified. All I asked what to have my account closed as it has been pointless from the moment I opened it, but when I sent this request THEN I was informed that it was “FROZEN” & “under review”… Crazy how it’s the first I hear of this only AFTER asking to CLOSE the account! STILL BEING TOLD THERE IS NO FURTHER INFO AND THAT I WILL BE INFORMED WHEN MORE INFO IS AVAILABLE!!! What a JOKE!

Aspiration please read. I love Aspiration bank and their mission. And they have always been great. HOWEVER, They need to hire more support crew. Over the past ~2 months my hold times over the phone have exceeded several hours to receive a callback and their number shows up as spam risk so I had to save their phone number because I missed their callback a couple of times and had to start the several hour wait all over again. On two occasions I didn’t receive a callback at all and got an email the next day on one of those occasions apologizing. Today. I managed to have my wire transfer go through just in time to be able to close on my new house. It seems that over the last couple months they have received a lot of new members but they MUST hire more support crew in order to meet the demand otherwise it’s going to be a bad experience for everyone.

Can’t track on Mint. I was happy to find a bank not funding fossil fuels and I’m pretty happy with the cash back I get on my conscious coalition purchases. Thankfully I haven’t run into any issues given the poor customer support others have mentioned. My biggest issue is that the bank does not currently connect to Mint and possibly has the same issue with other budgeting apps which is a huge inconvenience to anyone budgeting through an app. The connection has been down for over a month and I may have to start looking into other banks if it is not fixed soon. I receive most of my income and pay my biggest expenses from Aspiration so there are big chunks of missing transactions when I view my finances on Mint.

Support so bad, closing account. I was attracted by the offer of a high interest rate and an environmentally conscious bank, but their customer support is so bad that I can’t deal with them and I’m closing my account. I dealt with multiple representatives and none could help me, in fact, it didn’t seem like they tried at all, to the point where I don’t even think they looked up my account to find out what I was asking about. Their responses were total nonsense and I had to hold hands to get to the point where they refused to help me. I can’t afford to place my money in a bank when I’m not assured that I’ll be able to get the help I need servicing my account. And it’s so painfully ironic how the response to every issue someone raises on here is to contact support. They ARE the problem.

Problematic accounts and unavailable customer service. I have had so many issues connecting my accounts to other institutions. I can log in on the website but the in the app it says my account is locked and I should contact customer support. Every time I contact customer support I’m unable to talk talk to anyone. I have opted for the call back request option too but no one has ever called me back. This is ridiculous. I had high hopes for this bank as it has claims of investing in green initiatives and working towards saving the planet! But lack of good customer support and the loss of time and money due their bad service has honestly made it not worth it!

Money dispute. . DONT USE THIS ONLINE BANK!!! I have had this bank for about 2 years now. I have always liked them unit they didn't give me my money back. I went on vacation and was charged to hold a room. The money was taken and was pending. Well the money never came back and it did not post either. I have called them several times to try and get this fixed but they keep saying “I see here the payment was sent back” they keep sending me “proof” of the money being sent back but what they send me is not was shows on my statements or on the app! I waited the 10 business days for the money to come back as well. I got with the hotel and they gave me proof of what they have charged me and it matched my statements. I have also done the math and it clearly shows I did not get my money back. The Numbers don’t lie!

Getting even better with time. So 6 months ago, I decided to go with aspiration in hopes to save extra side cash I had without it going to my actual bank. Fast forward till now, it’s been nothing but a great experience. If you call, they answer quickly. The layout is simple and effective. The one thing that I think will get better with time is if you do external transfers, they only post as an ACH. It takes more time for funds to come and go, but in my eyes that’s better for someone who wants to save money and begin to save for your future self. If you want a bank who’s honest and is growing then chose aspiration.

Love this bank!. Aspiration is the perfect account for anyone but specifically those who do not have a lot of money and regular banks charge for every overdraft making these people even poorer. Banks are trying to charge for anything and everything nowadays. For example if I don’t have a bank acct at Synovous Bank and someone writes me a check from that bank, I am charged $5 to simply cash the check. This is ridiculous! I’m glad online banks like aspiration are showing up to compete with the brick and mortar banks who take advantage of us all. This will force those banks to stop taking advantage of us bc we have somewhere to bank that won’t deluge us with nonsense fees.

Good at first and then they went bad.. This bank contacted me to become a member. I use them and had no problem. Then suddenly, one day without any reason, they close my bank account until I could prove my identity, although I already done that. You locked my money they never gave me access back to the account again. I never got any answers from them. They never tell me why they close it. I’m not involved in anything so I have no idea what that was all about. It was very bizarre. But the frustrating part was they never even give me any kind of information at all. The response they give below is just nonsense because when you email them they say they can’t disclose anything. I have read about many others with this experience.

Camera check cashing.. I thought aspiration was pretty cool and user friendly. I tried using the ‘mobile check deposit’ option and it took them 5 days to tell me that I need to take another photo? The camera picture is based entirely on the application? You literally can’t choose when to take the photo? It does it for you. It’s been a week and not only is my check not in my ac punt they make you sign ‘endorsed for aspiration banking only’ which stops me from actually going to the bank or anywhere else. Also there actual bank is no where near me good luck trying to get ahold of customer support. I resent the picture and I sent an email if my takes any longer I will delete the account permanently. Fail.

Takes longer than expected for check deposits. I did a digital check deposit on 3/11 which takes 5 business days for the the funds to be available on your account for checks deposited in the opening of an account in its first month which should be 3/18 and the funds still aren't available on 3/19. I spoke with a rep who tried to be helpful but wasn’t at all, the rep said she saw the deposit made on 3/11, but walked back in her statement and said the time stamps she saw were made on 3/12. That left me to ask “is their system is in sync with the app”? Because on my end it shows the deposit receipt shows 3/11 and she said she saw that as well. Deleting. Also, there was a lot of noise and echo in the background while speaking to the rep. I can respect a start up/new company but it felt a little unprofessional.

My new bank :). I have had nothing but a great experience with this bank. I love getting my paycheck 2 days early and the 5% APY is unbeatable. I saw some reviews complaining about the promotion, but I had no issue recieving the $200 promotion. Also, a lot of people don't realize, you don't get 5% APY to start, you have to actively use the bank and debit card, a lot, in order to earn it. I think that is fair though because 5% is very generous. I have completely switched over to this bank and do not regret it. My only complaint is that sometimes, aspiration randomly rejects my apple pay payments. Other than that, I love this bank!

Misleading. TLDR: the interest rate only works on the premium account that cost $50 a year which nearly cancels out half of the earned interest. It does not state this until after you sign up and transfer limits are $100 a day. I opened the account and wanted to close it within 24hrs. I didn’t have any of the proper information until after I set up my account through the prompts. It seems convenient at first then you realize that they give you information after the fact. I emailed them and they claim it’s due to new interest rate rules due to COVID-19.. Sure. I asked how to close my account and they say once you close you’re essentially black listed and unable to open an account with them again. Okay... That’s fine. I’d transferred 2k to the account during the prompts ( my mistake for diving in assuming they weren’t in to shady semantics or marketing schemes). I attempted to transfer the 2k back and it says I can only transfer $100 a day. No problem taking 2k, but can’t move 2k the opposite way? Don’t waste your time downloading this app. Now I have to spend the next 20 days transferring a $100 because I need a $0.00 balance before I’m able to manually (snail mail) close my account.

Terrible bank. I opened an account with them and the first time they locked my account for 3 months. I called and emailed them about my account being locked and ask them to unlock it and how long it would it take to unlock it they could not give an answer. It wasn’t until 3 months later they sent me an email to unlock my account. Right now my account is locked again and I called and email them they couldn’t give me an answer on why and when my account will be unlocked it’s been over 6 months about to be a year not having access to my account. I’m still waiting this is ridiculous at this point. What kind of bank is this I emailed them countless times and they say the same thing in every email they send me. I wouldn’t advise anyone to bank with them.

Great concept but don’t feel safe for my money. I do believe in what they are doing but sustainability shouldn’t be your only priority. In fact, as a bank and fintech solution, money security needs to be equally important. I started having trouble transferring money in and out of my account, and when I reached out to CS and they gave me instructions on how to make a transfer? (My CS was a lovely person, don’t get me wrong.) I had to very clearly tell them- the app isn’t allowing me to make transfers bc of some kind of error. Please alert engineering or account operations. They escalated my ticket to engineering, but nothing else came of it. I reached back out after a week as I wasn’t able to do anything with my money, was told their team has no update. Waited another week, still nothing. I was eventually able to take my money out through wires with my other bank. As a bank, your customer not able to move money in and out should be treated as an emergency yet I had to poke customer service for ticket progress. In fact, this all happened in March and i still haven’t t heard back from them. No resolution whatsoever. Don’t trust my money with them.

API error?!. I can’t even use this app, what?! Edit/response: at first, uninstalling the app worked, until it didn’t.. this time disabling my VPN worked.. I’ve updated to 3 stars.. still not having a search feature is a deal breaker, I’ve given y’all a year to add that.. At first my crypto transactions were blocked unless I called and unblocked them every 24 hours, which is what banks do because they’re bitter about crypto.. I believe the blocks have stoped, but my scars and disappointment are still there… Update: I’ve been on hold for 30 minutes, I’m trying to unlock crypto transactions, why on earth are you people still blocking these? This is beyond ridiculous… removed another star..

RED FLAG 🚩 DO NOT USE. This was the absolute worst banking experience I’ve ever had in my life. Not only does this “bank” take forever to process transactions, process bills, process credit card payments and really process any type of payment.. they also have the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. You will regularly run into a manager named Robert who claims to be the only manager who works for the ENTIRE company and he will make your life extremely difficult and laugh about it while on the phone with you. It took so much of my time to get another manager, because obviously he isn’t the only one; and get my account closed. That same man named Robert also told me I wasn’t allowed to close my account without mailing in certain forms which also turns out wasn’t the case. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this “bank“ and make sure to steer away friends and family from a horrible experience.

You okay Aspiration?. API error on mobile app for several days and trouble logging-in online as well. I’ve used Aspiration for several years and liked them at first, but have sense disliked the service more and more. The positioning as “green” is great, but what I originally liked was the higher interest rate, atm reimbursements and lack of foreign transaction fees. Those were dispensed with several years ago, even for early users, and I consequently stopped using the service as my primary banking account. Judging by the other recent reviews, I’m glad I did. However, the Redwood fund did hold some appeal as a green investment vehicle, so I kept the account open for that purpose. But now I worry I won’t be able to access even that with the ongoing technical problems. I work in Fintech, so I get that these things happen from time to time, but for days? And over a major US holiday weekend? Are you okay Aspiration? User interface is appealing when you can access it. Transfers take 3-4 days instead of the industry standard of 2 for ACH Transfers. Not really sure where my money is going toward when I “pay what is fair.” Maybe what’s fair is refunds for your user base? ✌🏽

Need my money can’t get it. I had my unemployment check direct deposited in this account and now can’t get to my funds. My debit card needed replaced and when they did that they deactivated my digital card too for some reason. To top it off they had locked my account so I couldn’t even transfer by Wire. I’ve spoken with “customer service” about 5 times now regarding my incident and none of them have a clue what they’re doing. Each one says “oh the last person” didn’t activate new digital card or didn’t unlock your account etc. So I still have no access to my funds and no help at all. The isssue is that the app won’t show me my digital card details so I can add it or use it via Apple Pay. I still can’t transfer funds either

Recurring transfer feature would make it great. I like this bank, what they stand for, how they approach the work of banking, and my experience thus far. They have made some big changes (debit cards, new business rules) relatively seamlessly and have been supportive and responsive when I’ve had hiccups. My only frustration at this point is I can’t set up recurring transfers from the app, and I’m trying to deposit money into this account automatically every two weeks. I’m not sure if there is a banking rule on their end that’s holding them back from implementing it, but it’s a (comparative) nuisance setting up the transfer manually every two weeks.

Just Don’t. If you are looking for a bank that changes their policies and user agreements every 15-minutes Apiration, go with Aspiration. Their “do good, do well” is simply a front for an ever changing and complicated banking landscape. I am glad I did not get in too deep with their products. Within a year they have made so many changes I just can’t keep up. I am married and for several months my husband couldn’t even use our joint account. New policies, pay-to-play services, and constantly changing fees and networks are just too much to handle. I think that their vision is great, but the application of that vision leaves something to be desired. If you want to be automatically “opted in” to round up DONATIONS on every purchase, if you want to go on a scavenger hunt when you need cash, and if reading pages and pages of user agreements every few minutes then Aspiration is likely the bank for you. It’s just not for me.

Signing up was a problem. Very tedious and difficult process just to sign up. They said they deposited cents into my account and I had to type in the amount of cents. Of course I see zero deposits for cents. So went back to redo and now says my account is pending. Otherwise from what I read and all the perks sounds like a great service. But first impressions are everything and almost felt like deleting because of the initial sign up process. Only writing this review so hopefully the designers hopefully work on it a little more.

Everything takes a tremendous amount of time. Why is it that it takes forever to get a check deposited and have the funds available? Why can I pay a bill online immediately but with this bank I can’t get my bills paid on time because of sending a paper check? There are times when I am paid by a check that has to be printed out and the bank does not accept those checks making it necessary to have another bank account all together. I like the concept of this banking but in reality it is just so slow. When I put money in the bank I need the funds to be available. When I transfer money from one bank to another it should not take a week for the transfer to go through. If I didn’t need to use my money this bank would be perfect.

They sounded like a good company, until I finished reading their “get started” page. They say my deposits will never go towards fossil fuel projects (good), political campaigns (good), and firearms (which was the turn off for me. Because you are alive you have the right to defend yourself from anything or anyone wanting to do harm to you. The government will not always be there to protect you. People need to take responsibility for their own safety and stop expecting someone else to do it. In rural parts of the country firearms are necessary. I would even say they are necessary in cities just because of all the crime. I say this because now more than ever, our right to bear arms is under attack by sheltered people, politicians, and organizations like this one.

Ethical. This far on day eight I would have to say that the company is ethical I have researched their core beliefs and not only are they leading with a slogan of truth when it comes to fossil fuels investigators but EO himself has walked the walk of what I like to call polarity and has chosen that’s far the side of light understanding the importance of business practice still in this current dimension and providing service well having the ability to do something remarkable and that is repopulate one area at a time with sustainable anti-really

Buggy buggy software put a 1k hold on my account for over a week and counting. I added the card to my PayPal account to complete a purchase. When I tried to complete the purchase it said insufficient funds. I looked at my Aspiration account and there was a hold on my account for the purchase I never completed. PayPal has no record of the completed transaction. Aspiration said it would lift after 3 days. Well it’s day 7 now. I called to cancel my account but I need to have the hold lifted so I can clear out my account. I had to pay for the transaction with a different bank account to maintain my relationship with the vendor. I have nearly 5k held up at Aspiration due to this 1k hold that has no end in sight. I’ve called multiple times. A big ticket was created last week. I’m so disappointed in Aspiration. They took a ridiculous amount of time to post my deposits too.

Disappointed.. I was a customer for nearly 4 years. I was thrilled there was a bank that wanted to give back to the planet. Unfortunately, they don’t function as a normal bank. Not one but two separate merchants were allowed to debit my account illegally. The claims process worked in my favor about 90% of the time but you will be without funds for up to a month while they “investigate.” I was told my claim was being “investigated” but learned later that my claims were just closed without review because not documentation was uploaded. They don’t contact the merchant for you. They don’t protect your account. Processing transfers and deposits are much longer than other banks and customer services reps are rude. I’m truly disappointed for what this bank could have been.

Support does not exist at this company. I’m writing a review here because they DO NOT respond via phone calls or email. I finally got their Twitter to respond about I told them about 5 business days going by without a response from them. And guess what? Still no response. I transferred over several hundred dollars during a transition period (that was not announced without warning) where users now have a savings and checking account. They claim my bank, Chase, had an issue sending the transfer. However the money is GONE from my Chase account and Chase says Aspiration has it. Again, no response from Aspiration on this matter. Another sneaky move is that you have to transfer your money from your new checking account to the new savings account. They don’t automatically do this. So you need to open your account, transfer it, and then make sure you deposit at least one dollar each month to get their new 2%. Otherwise, they by default keep your “old” Aspiration money in their new checking account and it WILL NOT earn interest. I really enjoyed the old Aspiration and willing to give this a shot and I have faith they will *eventually* fix my transfer issue. Otherwise, there are several new competitors out there and I’ll be switching.

I CAN NOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW WONDERFUL. What??? Was my first reaction after the general knowledge was fulfilled and then the amazing perks and give aways. No strings attached. They truly let you keep track of what stores are shopping at that or actually beneficial to the environment and mother Gaia in itself. They’re giving away like a Tesla to which as we all know it gets me environment just by using into your debit card which going to do anyways. They like to throw you money just for like you know before your friends and how could you not refer your friends or something that’s wonderful. Not to mention every time I went to an ATM fee I was like OK well the place charges me not them but then I see my reimbursements come back into my account for all the vendors are fees and I was just taken back!! Their customer service is top notch there’s no hidden agenda except you sincerely better you are the environment and better everything I wish they were more business is that’s motivation was driven by just pure health and giving back as aspiration is. But Mark my word they’re on their way!! BRAVO !!!!

I love this bank!. I’ve been trying to get friends & family members to switch over or even just add them as an extra acct, but it’s hard for people to change banks, so I’ve had little success so far. Aspiration Bank is great, I love they’re commitment to charities and the environment. My only complaint is that we can’t deposit cash at this point. If you need to do that, you have to buy a money order, then deposit it via the app mobile deposits. Which is a pain. Supposedly they’re working on this, though.

Don’t. I’m having the worst time with their customer service trying to close my investment accounts. Every time I’ve called, their automated device tells me that they’re experiencing high call volumes and I’ve had to request call backs that don’t come until several hours later. Once they called back and I couldn’t hear them so they hung up and never bothered to call me back. So I had to call again and go through their automated system all over again to request a callback. Not only that the 2 times reps finally called me back they gave me insufficient answers. And the app does nothing to help, every time I follow the instructions at the end, a pop up window comes up and tells me what I’m trying to do isn’t possible online or on the app. So people, in conclusion DON’T. It’s not worth the trouble if you feel like it’s not working for you. They’ll just take your money hostage.

Aspiration has made a difference. I like everything about Aspiration, but what I like the most is they are the only business I believe is trying to make a difference in our World. What I have learned is I need to change my spending habits, and I need to be more conscientious. How many financial institutions make you aware of that? Thank you for everything I am trying to let others know what you’re about, but people don’t like change even if it’s a good change.

SHADY SHADY SHADY. This is my FIFTH time reviewing this terrible online banking app. Each time, my review does not show on the reviews. Almost as if they don’t want people to see it. I was delighted and pleased with the app for about 2 weeks. One thing I liked about it was that they didn’t have a minimum balance or any surprise fees. Until one day, I checked my account and noticed I was missing like $10. I looked through my purchases and noticed that Aspiration had taken out $10. The name of the charge was “pay what is fair.” What does that even mean? Why do I have to pay you ANYTHING?? How is it FAIR to take money from people?? Secondly, my wallet was stolen downtown the last week of June. I ordered a new card via the app and was advised I would receive a new card on July 15th. Over TWO WEEKS. July 15th came and went and I never got my card. I sent 9, yes, NINE emails to customer service about getting a new card and NEVER got anything in return. It is now October 14th and I still have yet to receive my card. This left me no other option then to switch banks. Which I am SOOOOO happy I did. This place is so shady and a complete scam. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GET THIS BANKING APP!!!!

Investment Account. I love everything about this card at the moment, don’t get me wrong. The new Summit account is great and really does work exactly as it says. The one problem is the Investment accounts, if you choose to open one up. I put 100 in the fund, perhaps to guarantee early access for the Summit Account and also hoping to see some growth. It was small, but I thought it was still pretty neat to see it grow. Now that I want to take out that initial $100 investment, I’m not able to do so. I can only sell certain amounts of my stock, and when I try and liquidate it altogether, I’m left with an error message that tells me to call Aspiration. I’ve called every day for a week and no response, only told that no one is able to reach the call. Please, if I can hear from anyone at Aspiration, otherwise I feel the accounts aren’t a very good idea.

Do not use mobile check deposit Here. I loved this bank but like all the rest they have betrayed me, damaging my credit and costing me money I don’t have. The app works great but their overzealous check clearance department rejected the same check three times, the last time because they had me hanging onto it so long that it had become tattered and soggy in parts. A ton of Bill payments were past due because of this institutional failure of fiduciary duty. I complained, and they had no help or anything useful to offer as is literally always the case and more so since COVID. Too bad because if this had been processed properly I would have very few if any complaints. As it stands I am about ready to file a complaint with the FDIC based on this experience. I guess all banks really are crooks, even a seemingly nice one like this

They steal money to plant trees even after you opt out of the program. Honestly it was a decent bank for the most part but unfortunately almost a year after I started using it they started debiting money out of my account without my permission. They have an option to round up your purchases and plant trees, but I opted out of it at the very beginning of my relationship with aspiration. All of a sudden I look at my account and somewhere around a hundred m dollars are missing. Ridiculous problem to have and of courseSince there is no physical location customer service hasn’t responded to my emails. I called them couldn’t get through scheduled a call back I never received. Seems there’s no way to stop them from taking money out of my account so I have to leave the bank

Never Again!. So I had became a member of the NSLS upon receiving it they offer you wonderful discounts etc. Aspiration partnered with them. So long story short the money that you pay to get into the club gets refunded back to you by signing up with Aspiration etc. Which is a total of $75. And it’s placed on the card etc. So instead of Aspiration asking me if I would like to pay their annual fee they took my money. I was signed up for the monthly fee which by the way they had already took out. This company is a complete joke. I’ve emailed and also called!!! I would t trust this bank!!! It is not okay to just take someone’s money and automatically assume that they want an annual fee!!! I would not recommend them to no one!!

Never got an update. I had made an account and have had money deposited but suddenly my account got locked and so I had emailed to find out what happened. I received an email just stating that they will email me with any updates on my account and why it’s been locked after investigating. This was in March and each time I email them I get the same response but I haven’t gotten a single update. Terrible bank with terrible customer service and it makes me think that they don’t even care about us or the earth for their main thing. Edit: forgot to say that the recent emails I’ve sent HAVEN’T even gotten a reply back because they just stopped responding. Once again, terrible customer service.

Love the concept but.... I was excited to find out about a bank for the people that allows us more control and less fees. However, my rating is because sadly the inability to deposit cash or checks for that matter to a branch even third party is not possible in nyc. So I’m unable to leave my major corporate bank for this reason. Additionally I started invested in both funds they offer but haven’t seen much increase at all in earnings. And it would be nice to see a complete breakdown of what companies I’m investing into. Otherwise, the app is great and puts you in control of where your money goes.

Can’t deposit Cash!?!??. Let me start by saying I love aspiration, it’s a great bank and they give you 5% on savings which is unheard of, the only thing that makes it very frustrating is the fact that you cannot deposit cash at any ATMs or anywhere. If they would just fix that, I’m sure a lot of people would be very happy and they can get that five star rating from people. It’s just made everything a bear lately because I have to pay a dollar at least sometimes up to four dollars every time I want to deposit some cash so I would just think about that before you decide to go with Aspiration, kind of where your options and what is more important like what do you need?

Can’t make payment. ***Update - I called to make the payment….the rep acted like I was wasting her time, as I stated to her “if the app worked I wouldn’t have to be calling you”. Between customer service and the horrible app/website I’m ready to pay my balance and close the card.*** Not only do you not have the ability to set up auto pay, I can’t make a payment using the app or the website. When I emailed customer service and gave the full error message for my payment I am told to call. In this day and age I shouldn’t have to call to make a payment when you have an app and a website. Your website/app issues are not on the user. I have made payments before using the app and had no issues.

Worst credit card ever! (Aspiration Zero). This experience has been absolutely awful. I got approved for the card, received the card in the mail and activated it. Used it for around a month, spent about $3000 on it and paid it off on the next billing cycle (including the annual fee). Right after I paid them, the card gets blocked and is completely unusable. I keep on calling customer support and no one knows why it was blocked. I didn’t receive an email basically saying I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get the car turned back on. Completely inconvenient hoops by the way… Something shady is definitely going on with this company and I would stay as far away from this card as possible, I will be canceling this whole account ASAP.

Very happy with Aspiration!. I’m really happy with aspiration. They just put a limit fee ATM transactions to 3 or 5, I think 7-8 would be great. But some person used it over 100 times which is ridiculous. Also I need something like Zelle for sending money or rent payment. I have to pull money out of the ATM for this. Also the times I’ve had to deposit a check it always takes 2 days, and don’t deposit a check on a Friday or else you won’t get your money until Tuesday night. Rather annoyed about this.

This banking service has gone downhill fast. Well after 4 years of Aspiration, it’s time to hang up the account. When I first signed up with them, there were tons of perks and benefits to having an account. The biggest of which being, the unlimited free ATM withdraws. Unfortunately Aspiration has whittled this down to free ATM fees at certain ATM locations. The nail in the coffin was the other day when I was trying to make a large purchase. My card kept getting declined and I ended up having to call them. They have a daily transaction limit of 4k which is fine, most banks do. However, no one on the CS team had access or a way to temporarily lift that limit. Speaking to the agent, her exact words were “I can transfer you to a lead, but I have never seen the limit lifted, no one on our team is able to do that”. It’s the most infuriating thing not to be able to access my money when I need it. That, plus the downhill ATM features are the reason I am closing my account with them. I was very excited to be switching to Aspiration when I first joined, but all good things must come to an end.

Run run run !!!Poor Security and Customer Service. I have been with them for a couple of years and the only issues I’ve had were related to fraudulent activity. They send an email telling you that your accounts are closed and debit card frozen. The notice assured you that any transactions already scheduled in the old Account will come out of the new and that a new debit card has been sent. Each time I’ve had to call repeatedly day after day and speak to a call center rep, who after 10 minutes decides they can’t help and put me on hold for a manager, who also can’t help but cheerfully assured me that they will send a message and get it fixed tomorrow. If this were my only bank it would be beyond problematic. I tried them out b/c I like their mission but it is truly appalling how bad the customer service is. And I still haven’t received my money.

Not worth it. Honestly, I’ve had aspiration for quite a while and the only real positive aspect I can see is that they claim to not fund fossil fuels. I’ll admit I’m not wealthy or have much money in general so I wasn’t expecting much from any bank, but Aspiration basically makes you PAY to have an account in order to receive any interest on your savings (which is low at best compared to others) in addition to having to ‘pay what’s fair’ (which I guess is cool but technically you still have to actually pay them). Customer service is rather slow compared to ONE Finance which I mainly use who are super quick and helpful. I don’t have anything explicitly negative to say about Aspiration, they’re not BAD, but there’s a lot of other options with better perks and benefits. Aspiration seems to be mainly for people with MONEY MONEY.

Steal customers money without notice. Since my long years of banking experience,I have never had a bank that operates in thus manner,I think you should be called scammers and not aspirations in the first place .i mean what kindof bank lock your money in their account for more than a year and when you call they keep telling yoh that they don’t have any update for you???they mail you to tell your account has been frozen but would not tell yoh anything more about your money... The only bank who will change your debit card without informing you Who on earth does that You are busy bunch of thieves operating under the influence of an organization... Show us the trees you’ve been planting all this years if you are truly planting trees as said ...this bank does not even deserve a single star

Incorrect Funds. Aspiration is losing credibility and THEY ARE LOSING IT “QUICKER than a speeding bullet.” They are having constant issues showing incorrect amounts on the app. Secondly, transfers seem to be taking more than 5 to 6 days to hit the account. My impression is, that they are trying to collect as much interest as possible holding on to the transfer. Last but not least, customer service seems to be nonexistent. Emailed them several times with no response. Poor, poor quality. Since they made the change, there has been nothing but issues for customers. I can honestly say I am done. Any bank and I mean any bank that does not have the time to respond to their customers, should not be taken seriously. TREAT yourself right and join another bank that at least has the time to respond to your issues.

Great CMA!. Aspiration is not a bank it is a cash management account. If they offered full banking services it would open them up to more regulations and expense. Used Aspiration for a couple years now actively on and off. Recently decided to use them more. No problems or inaccurate transactions. I question the validity of the negative reviews. Are other people really that bad with their money? Or are these negative reviews attempted fraud? Are these negative reviews motivated by right wing ideology to discredit Aspiration using trolls? Just wondering.

Changing conditions on a whim. Aspiration has been constantly changing their terms and conditions. It’s hard to keep up with and it’s always not in the customers interest. For example, they no longer pay interest on their savings accounts. I opened my savings account with them so that I could have direct deposit go there and keep a mix of cash and investments. At the time they paid a modest interest on the savings but now they pay absolutely nothing unless you pay a fee and use their debit card. The money from interest on a savings account is negligible but it’s the principal of the thing. I don’t use debit cards even at my primary financial institution and I shouldn’t be forced to open a checking account with debit just to receive a little interest on my savings account. The fact it’s not even a free checking account just makes it worse. It’s a super weird way to push your other products. Just pay .05% interest on your basic savings account like every other credit union or bank in the country. They also made a change (without notice) to how they pay dividends and capital gains (they don’t now) so there’s definitely a pattern of making abrupt changes that are bad for their customers.

Huge scam. Joined aspiration plus to get the 5% interest rate (only available if you spend 1k/ month) but aspiration has rejected almost ALL my transfers from my current bank. So now I’m paying $70/yr for the Plus card and I can’t actually use the card or earn any interest. I’ve contacted support multiple times and they are not helpful. Not only that, but with the little funds I’ve managed to transfer into my account, Aspiration keeps rejecting transactions thinking it’s fraud (coffee shops, Whole Foods, etc). Overall sunk $70 into this… don’t waste your time or money. Update: aspiration responded to this comment and told me to contact support. Clearly they did not read the post which said I’ve contacted support multiple times. Just another example of aspiration’s incompetence!!
