Room for Improvement. This app does exactly what it says it does: It hides all downloaded apps and notifications from those apps for the amount of time the user specifies. So far, so good. However, the apps come back arranged in a different order (unless you happen to arrange your apps in quasi-alphabetical order), and there is no way to customize which apps are hidden. For example, I have downloaded an app to help me manage the medications I take, and I don't have access to it while Flipd is doing its thing. On the other hand, I would have an easier time focusing if I did not have access to the iTunes or App store, and those apps are not hidden. So, while it's a good concept, I haven't found it all that useful.

Glad I found it. Awesome free version.. It’s probably my first review on the app ever. With the procrastinating soul, and plenty of time limitations installed already, i usually caught up myself “trying not to procrastinate”. Long time ago all social media was deleted from my phone but it didn’t really turned me into the productivity monster, I would find some hacks like reading telegram channels(READING can’t be procrastinating, right?!), constantly checking email/credit karma/headspace app. So far I tried: forest, focus at will, screen time internal, cold turkey on Mac, and maybe another thousand of apps like this. Most of them can be easily hijacked, probably in the lockout mode if you delete the previously installed profile you’ll get your life full of distractions back, but at least it’s harder than 6 digits of my passcode and just loosing another tree in forest. You guys did a really great job with groups, challenges, customization. I’m still surprised that your app can be easily used for free.

Wouldn’t let me use my phone during emergency.. During an emergency in which I was assaulted and the police were involved, I wasn’t allowed to use apps like Lyft/Uber or google to make sure I would get home ok or call people in the emergency. I was studying previously and locked Away from my phone for 4-5 hrs. This was in 2019 I am redownloading because my phone addiction has been getting bad again, but I really hope to god that you can use emergency apps because the experience I went through was completely unacceptable. Developers should be aware of the practicality of an app when disabling functions such as google, Lyft/Uber or phone calling. I was lucky I could borrow a phone then but I seriously don’t understand how some important functions on my phone weren’t allowed.

Helpful. This app has been extremely helpful in getting me to stop procrastinating! The full lock is quite useful, I just wish that I’m able to choose which apps to block like you can on other productivity apps! I don’t really need iMessage when I’m studying and have the full lock on, so that app can get distracting sometimes and I wish I could lock iMessage out too. The features without premium are reasonably and the app is still very usable without upgrading, you just get slightly more features with the stats and custom times. Overall, this app is great for students like me and I will continue to use it over Forest because of the full lock option!

Great app, full lock mode needs adjusting. I like the app but I wish there was a way you could choose which apps disappeared for the full lock mode. Just because I want to stay off of Instagram doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t need to use Venmo or check my email at random times for work. I also don’t like how once the apps reappear they’re all disheveled and out of the order they were in previous to locking them. It makes it hard to find the apps I need every time the full lock mode is over. I love the ambient noise options it has for quiet time. It just stinks that I can only use full lock mode if I know for sure I won’t have any work to do.

Full Lock Mode needs work. I was excited when I found Full Lock Mode, because it would hide all my apps like Facebook and Snapchat, apps that i’m pretty addicted to, even though I hate to admit it. And they’re completely gone, including Flipd, so you can’t change your mind halfway through a session. The only problems are: 1. I can’t control what apps get hidden. And they’re completely gone, so I’m glad I did a trial run the first time I tried. But this led to my texting app WhatsApp, that I primarily text my boyfriend on, disappeared. Again, glad I tested it before I did longer sessions. 2. When your session is over, it adds back all your apps. BUT, they’re completely out of order and thrown about like a two-year old got into your phone. So, it took me about fifteen minutes to put things back in folders and rearrange everything. So, because this part of the app is so broken, it’s not worth using to me, so I won’t use it until it’s updated. I love the other parts of the app, like the study breaks and stuff, where it just tracks how long you’ve been off your phone, with little breaks for necessity.

I love this app, when it works…. This app is amazing, i don’t care about the locked content, because the basics are free. I just want to use the pomodoro timer! Now my problem, every time i use it as soon as the first break is over it crashes, and i can’t open it. It opens then crashes i open it then it crashes so on until I realize it is futile. The only way to fix this problem is to delete it then redownload it, but that is to much work and to disruptive for a productivity timer. I literally have to put my school down to write this review. Flipd please fix this i love this app but it is unusable!

Missing some features. Love this app and the idea, really helps me focus when a timer is running and other people are “studying with me”. Love the music and stats feature. For the paid version it is missing some features. Sometimes I mistakenly leave the timer running and I cannot go back and edit my time which ruins my stats. Another feature I wish the app had is the ability to listen to the music without running the timer because sometimes I just want to listen to music without having the timer run and ruin my stats.

Extra settings for premium customers. I have read a couple of reviews from premium customers. And I agree. I would love to be able to set my phone for certain times of the day that it should shut off. I don’t always have the self-control to shut it off myself. And I would love to be able to set it ahead of time for what times in the week I want it to be off and what times I want it to be on. PLEASE please please fix this!!!! It would make this app 110% useful It would also be nice if we could chose what apps we want to shut off. There are certain apps I want to close down but also certain apps I need to keep active due to school work but Flipd closes them down. I would a LOOOOOOVE to be able to pick exactly what apps we have to close and which ones will stay active!!!!

Wish it had an auto-lock. I am really pretty thankful for this app. It has improved my self-control when charging my phone next my bed at night. I haven’t really used any other feature besides the full lock. However, I do wish that the app had an auto-lock system that would allow you to set the time that you want it to lock, as well as give customized warning certain minutes before locking. It would be a lot more helpful because the main issue with digital self-control at night is having the self discipline to actually go on the app and lock you yourself out. If they found a way to auto lock you from the phone using a set amount of time, it would be so much more useful. I would pay for a premium subscription if that were the case.

Good idea, bad execution. I was super excited about this app because I have such a problem with being productive because I just can’t put my phone down. I put it on the full lock mode to where it would hide all my apps for an hour and I loved it and was so productive in that hour. However, when the hour was up and my apps reappeared, they were in alphabetical order and not in the folders I had them all in. I had to re-sign in to a couple apps as well as restore notification settings to multiple other apps. All of that drove me crazy and I would not want to have to re-organize my phone every single time I use the app. Makes me sad, I really wanted this app to work. Fix the app restoration problem and I’ll be back for sure!

Literally Incredible!! One thing tho. Honestly I love this over every. Other. Focus. Timer. Because of just how adorable the format is. It is so cute and that is one of the big things that makes me want to use it. However I don’t have the room in my budget for the premium, but I still use the normal features that you don’t have to pay for. I just think it’s annoying that the premium ad keeps popping up right in your face 24-7!!!!!!!!! Please, please just have the ads pop up every now and then and not flashy and annoying, it’s very distracting!!

Probably as good as full lock can get given iOS limitations. (I was looking for an app that could achieve a true lock down of non-essential apps. I only tried the 5 minute lock down on this app once, and haven’t used the app since.) As many others have said, full lock is an excellent idea but not great in execution. Others complained about the apps being out of order - that was fine for me. What I can’t live with is having my notification settings reset every time I get back from lock mode. I assume this is how the app works: they achieve lock mode by uninstalling and reinstalling all of your applications. The profile you install gives their servers access to control your phone remotely - which is why an internet connection is necessary. However, it seems that the scope of what they can control is limited - most likely due to iOS’s own limitations. The additional script you download seems to be a workaround to reorganize your apps as you had before, but it doesn’t restore your notification preferences on the apps that were un/reinstalled. Your apps give you the “allow notifications” pop-up next time you go into each of them. If you are OK with default notification settings, maybe this is a limitation you can live with. I customize the notifications for each app and I am not willing to readjust those every time I use lock down.

Thank you for such an amazing app!!. This app has really transformed how I use my phone, particularly in the way I procrastinate. I can turn off all my apps with the touch of a button and then I can fall asleep without temptation. You know how it is: you crawl into bed and right as you ware about to turn off the light you decide to check email/instagram/amazon or whatever and then 2 hours later you realize you have fallen down the scroll. This amazing app has changed the way I fall asleep! I can’t thank you enough for helping me put a stop to my nighttime phone addiction! For a hot minute they needed to create a patch or something and the app didn’t work. They were quick to fix it but for those several days I was like “ack! Where is my app!” I use it almost every night!!!

Great App, A Few Suggestions. I don’t comment often but I really do love this app. It’s simple, useful, and efficient when it comes to helping me stay on task. However, there are a couple of things that I’d absolutely love to see in the next updates, and both have to do with (generally) the same thing. One: it would be great if we could choose which apps are allowed while we’re ‘Flipd’ off. There are a few apps that I need to use while studying, like Desmos, Google Classroom and similar apps. Two: the same goes for the ‘Full Lock Mode.’ I love the idea of it, but being able to keep select apps would be amazing. These two things are the only reasons I’m not using the app every time I study. Again, great app, and I hope you guys keep my ideas in mind :)

Could be better. While I thought that the app wasn’t badly executed, I felt that it could be improved upon. After my first time going into full lock mode, I was shocked to see that my apps were scattered completely out of the order they were sorted into before, causing me to spend an extra ten minutes reorganizing them. Additionally, putting my phone in full lock mode permanently disabled my push notifications for several social media apps, leaving me with no choice but to delete and reinstall them. However, the ability to connect your Flipd Off time to your health app could be pretty useful, and I liked how there was more than one choice when it came to turning off your phone.

Schedule/reminder needs to change to automatically tune on. What’s the point of having to pay $3.99 a month to just have “unlimited reminders”of turning on the “flip off” on my phone? I can just set unlimited reminders on my phone calendar app (and it’s free!). People who has phone addiction need to have mandatory schedule to “flip off” their phones. Most of us don’t have the will power to “flip off” the phone that’s why we download the Flipd in the first place. Also the reminder is rather weak because it’s only a one time notification. If we don't have our phone in our hand at the exact set time, we would miss the notification. This Reminder itself is simply not effective enough. Setting up a “flip off” schedule is a commitment upfront. After a reminder asking if we want flip off our phone, there should be an option to opt out (no, I don’t want to flip out”) instead of opt in (yes, I want to flip out). So that if we don’t do anything that means we agree on our set schedule and the phone should automatically turn “flip off”, not the other way around. The app did good on the technology of hacking our phones and hiding all the apps, but not so good at behavior change strategies. I won’t be paying another $3.99 for the pointless reminder.

Every Update locks more features that you need premium for. I downloaded this app a long time ago because I’m a student who really struggles with time management and staying focused in general on anything. This app truly helped me set my phone aside and set out long blocks of time where I could forget it existed. Unfortunately as most makers of apps do, they shifted solely to how they could profit off of people and decided to lock more and more features. The once simple layout that alllowed everyone to set focus sessions for 1-4 hours has now decreased to only 40minute sessions. There is a large base of app users that are excluded from the quality of this app because it is unaffordable for students or other who cannot pay to use a timer for more than 40 minutes. To add insult to injury the app is now completely cluttered with grabs for your attention in other places to market premium purchase. I really relied on this to help me get through times when procrastination was pushing me down, and it is sad that this app can no longer provide those services for stretches of time that are actually useful. I wish I had not updated it and I wouldn’t have if I checked other reviews or had a way of knowing how it’d changed for the worse. That being said if you are able to afford premium then I’m confident it would be a different experience. It is a great app that lost its way a bit and cluttered itself too much. I will be deleting it now that I have seen the new update.

Staying focused with Flipd…. Updated review: It looks like the delay related issues have been worked out and the app is now saving my sessions as expected. Unfortunately, I’ve moved on to another time tracking/management app. I did test out some of the functions that were not working for me and the app does look like it’s working as expected. I may return to using it but building a routine with one tool is critical for me. I want to call out Alanna and the customer service provided by her and the team. I tried to provide as much detailed feedback as to the issues I was experiencing and she replied in kind. I’ve updated the review to reflect that as I do think the app is worth trying if you’re looking for something to help you track your habits, productivity, or just your time in general.

Pretty good except for….. So, i’ll start by saying I generally love this app, there is 1 thing keeping me from buying the year pass actually. That one thing is that the weekly stats are completely wrong, I’m not studying at 1 am, and the chart keeps saying that’s when i’m studying, when you look at the stuff individually, not in the chart, it seems correct though. Yes I know it’s a 24 hour clock, it still is showing up wrong and I have no idea why. Also, for example, I have not studied today, but it’s showing yesterdays hours as todays hours, which makes no sense. This is a serious issue that needs to be fixed . Otherwise the app is wonderful but i can’t justify spending money on an app that isn’t showing things correctly.

Amazing,but.... I think this app is wonderful. I especially love the full lock option because it makes it so that you can’t use your distracting apps, whether you like it or not. My only suggestion for the developers would be to put an option to automatically flip your phone off at certain times. Unfortunately, I’m addicted to using my phone in bed and waste a massive amount of time because of that; it can be difficult for me to always choose to hard lock my phone since a part of me doesn’t want to. I think it’s safe to say that there are many others out there who have an addiction to social media (for example, due to Facebook’s never ending scroll feature on the newsfeed). I believe those trying to cut down on phone time before bed, in the morning when they wake up, etc. can benefit a lot from an auto-flip feature. Hope we can see this sometime soon! Other than that, the app works very well and I haven’t encountered any problems with it. Great job! Edit: I changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 because they’re unable to include an automatic feature due to limitations of the iOS. Hope that changes soon!

Freedom. This app was alright when I first downloaded and previously provided the ability to obfuscate apps. Unfortunately, after exiting the session it rearranged all my apps making in difficult to navigate my phone. This feature was useful for limiting distractions. However, recent updates removed this feature and now only has limited sessions that require you to stay in the application. I enjoy listening to music during my workday and need access to other essential applications. If you're looking for an app that will not interrupt your iOS experience look at the Freedom app, you can essentially configure to block data traffic for social media apps/ non-essential websites. As a young-professional, I need to be able to use my phone but also want to the freedom to limit my distractions. The Freedom application provides this flexibility. I do not recommend using the Flipd app or subscribing to their premium offering, features are severely limited and don't satisfy the use-case your looking to solve.

Scared. So I downloaded this to try to use it while I was studying. I set a 30 minute timer and I was left with just Apple apps. This thing scared me. It like you download it self and I couldn’t get my apps back, I was so scared and I spent my studying time figuring out how to disable it without the app. If this out go to settings and remove its access profile. Trust me this got my apps back. Don’t try shutting/powering it off that doesn’t help (I tried that twice.) I will try this app again and if it works I will raise my review to a 5 if it works and the company responds to me. If the company doesn’t respond my review stays a 1. *edit* I tried this again and the app didn’t show up it disappeared when I did the full lock down the app Flipid disappeared and I couldn’t get out of full lock down so one again I had to go to settings and remove the management. I don’t have time to do this every time I go in lock down. Also I think the price is too much it should be the price of 1 month forever and I think that doing the custom times should be free. Also the developers are slow they still haven’t responded and it’s been a couple of days. I’m at the point where I’m going to delete this app. It’s not worth any more of my time.

Phone gets stuck in Flipd mode when I need my Amtrak pass and other work related apps. I would love to give this app 5 stars and was on my way to do just that, until I put my phone on Flipd mode for the night (8 hours.) when I woke up, it was still in Flipd mode. I thought I miscalculated my time. But I didn’t. For the WHOLE DAY, my phone stayed stuck, I couldn’t access my Slack, work mail apps and the other excruciatingly important functions of my phone. I had to get my monthly commute pass printed out because I couldn’t get my Amtrak pass. And I had no way to communicate with my co-workers on my commute. Nightmare. I emailed them from my laptop later the day. No response. At 5pm I had it, and googled it, and figured out a way to get into the system and delete Flipd’s override. To this day they still haven’t contacted me after my email cry for help. I thought perhaps it was just my phone that were funky and reinstall everything to make the app run smooth. 2 days later it happened again. GUYS - this is really pathetic. Yes - I need to take a break from my phone. But when the time is up, I have work related apps I need to access.

Social media for studying 🤩. I recently downloaded this app and it’s AMAZING! You can study in many ways and I feel so productive! You can pay but there’s so much available for free which I love. The music option is my favorite as music helps me study and focus. Additionally, you can see others from around the world studying at the same time which is cool to me. All I wish this app has is the option to make private groups but other than that this is terrific and super helpful! It’s almost like social media for studying which is genius…100% recommend!

Flipd is terrible. So I set my flipd to four hours so I could study well however after the four hours were up and I knew that they were up bc I checked the time that I set it my apps did not reappear. I waited another couple hours for them to come back but they never did and I just had to disable the management through settings. However now, forgetting about all that and passing it as a glitch, I decided to set my phone to a full lock session again except it literally won’t do anything and I’m sitting there waiting for the full lock session to begin but It simply won’t. This app only works fine for the first few times you use it but after that it just gets bad and constantly glitches and doesn’t work properly. I would not recommend this app because it doesn’t work properly.

Huge potential IMO. My first time writing a review (EVER!!) because this app has so much potential!! It’s my personal preference, but I just wish there was a stopwatch. Idk if there is one and I just missed it, but I usually study without setting time goal. I just do it until I need a break. Sometimes I have to stop suddenly, or I just study over what I set and I don’t want to turn on my phone just to start another timer and repeating that over and over. I would definitely use this app religiously if you guys had stopwatch :( I kinda drifted away from this app because of that

I also wish it had auto lock. I have no self control. I need to be able to set a time in the app - say, 10 pm, when the app will lock me out of all of the “fun” apps that distract me and keep me from going to sleep. Until this app does that, I can’t give it five stars. Also, setting a reminder to turn the lock on doesn’t even seem to really work - I don’t get a sound or anything. I have the premium version and I’ve tried changing around my notification settings, but I can’t seem to get it to generate a reminder that catches my attention. Also, when you use the full lock mode, even if you have the other additional patch app installed, all of your notification settings in all of your other apps reset. This is annoying. Please fix because I really need this app. Thx.

Works well- except full lock. I really enjoy this app! I feel more productive when I use it, it really helps keep me off my phone. However, when I use the full lock option, my apps won’t return after the allotted amount of time is up. On the FAQ it says it’s due to poor internet connection, but my phone works totally fine with the WiFi connected. I’ve also tried it without being connected to WiFi and it still won’t work properly. I then have to delete the profile, which rests all the notification settings for my apps and is very annoying. Other than that, this app works great! It’s just a shame the full lock doesn’t work because I think it would have been really useful.

The PERFECT App For Studying - You NEED This!!. If you’re not necessarily enthusiastic about studying, you NEED Flipd in your life!! I’ve been using this app for about 6 months now and it has honestly changed the way I study for ever. Getting to study online with others in groups is a lifesaver and makes you feel like you’re not alone. I also like how you have the option to join group leaderboards but aren’t obligated to, as it is motivating for me. You can even see which days you’ve studied which helps me too, and the streak feature is very inspiring as well. Even when you’re not a premium member, most of the app is available to you and I appreciate Flipd not giving you constant reminders about getting premium. I also like the break feature, it makes it so much easier how you can just pause your session and come back without having to end it altogether. Lastly, I LOVE the layout. This is what drew me to this app and I was just amazed by everything. The app runs so smoothly, is easy and understandable to use, and the graphics are cute, minimalistic and pretty. I don’t know what more I could ask for. Thank you, Flipd team!! You have changed my life!!

I f@$&?! love this app. What I’ve been looking for fur. Eh. Vur. I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic the flipd folks work on my phone when it goes into full lock mode, but it’s exactly what I need. I am so much happier not having those moments of ‘oh look, I just wasted 30 minutes of my life scrolling instagram’. I open my phone, see that none of my apps are there, and don’t care. Now, I have such peace of mind from not having them there (when I’m in full lock mode), that I often enable it even when I’m not actively working or trying to be productive. It’s so much easier to be present. Also, make sure you add on the thing that puts your apps back where you had them before you go into full lock mode. And read the instructions and prompts for how to do that. I know, I know, reading instructions is a draaaag but they’re short and simple and you only have to do it once. Enjoy not feeling like a squirrel anymore!

I’ve been trying to contact customer support | The BEST app ever for studying!. Hi guys! I have been trying to contact again customer servicewith no success! The first time i contacted you guys, it was quick and really helpful , but this time it has been impossible to get answer and the issue is affecting my app usage. I was charged twice for the app, apple refunded one of the payments, but now the premium yearly subscription i paid for is gone! Can someone please assist me regarding this matter? Thank you! I love the app, but these are days of the yearly subscription i paid for that i’m not being able to use what i paid for.

If you want a strict disconnection, this is for you!. Full disclosure: I have a phone addiction I wanted to control and a friend recommended Flipd. First few times even a half hour full block will drive you crazy but later you start to live like a 90s person who only used their phone for calls and texts -and whichever email you have associated to the default app on your phone. Other email apps won’t work- (which I’ve found is the only really useful things I do with my phone) so I have lost much less time since I installed flipd and I have learned how to disconnect from my phone a bit and just live life on the present (pretty philosophical, huh?) New version is pretty sleek looking and nice, and selection of time in the free version is reasonable. You also have the option for a light block if you are at a stage where your willpower is good and you need to check one of your downloadable apps, which is cool. Overall, I think it is one of the few productivity apps that do work! I love it.

Good app. This is a good app that does what it says it does, and you can get a fair amount of mileage out of the free version if you want it. But developers, please remove the five-minute-remaining notification. The ding at the end is so nice, but five minutes before we get the usual notification sound, drawing me back to my phone when I’m still supposed to be disconnecting. Just let it ding at the end and lose the warning EDIT: Thank you for updating in the latest release! Changed to 5 stars

Ok it’s good-some suggestions. This is just something I wanted to say, you can ignore this part. So I installed the thing to keep my apps in order. Then I tested it. Guess what. It didn’t work. I followed every step and had PERFECT internet connection. Turns out I wasn’t supposed to restart my phone, so okay..... but otherwise best screen time app I’ve found. (Okay ignore that part) I have a few suggestions though: A medium lock. You have light lock and a full lockdown mode, so it would be nice have a medium lock. It would be, you choose apps to restrict for a certain amount of time, almost like the lockdown mode, or it’s like the lockdown mode, but you choose apps to keep. More apps to keep on lockdown mode. Not just any apps, but it would be nice to be able to keep some self help apps! That’s my main problem. Time tracker. I couldn’t think of a name for it, but it’s like you have say a hour to use a app every day before it disappears until the next day. Sorry for this being so long, but those are some suggestions I think would be cool. Thanks for helping with my screen addiction!!!

Flipd. About two weeks ago, I was searching on ways to be focusing on my work, and how to not easily be distracted by any distractions. Especially my phone, which always distracts me. So I decided to try the app as it was worth a shot. I tried it, and it was true, it really DID help me focus. I really recommend it. You'll find more information in the app regarding how to use it. You'll be surprised what the app really offers. You'll love the app more than anything one day. It really is helpful. I'll use it now since I need to study😂🤞🏻. I'm telling you I am an easy victim of being distracted.

Great concept but app needs work. App would not exit “full focus” mode sometimes but will eventually exit. Today it didn’t and I had to remove the profile which now made all my apps out of order. Very annoying. Update: developer seems to have zero understanding of the problem. Yes removing the profile will restore the apps back, which is what I did, but it still doesn’t solve the issue with all apps being completely out of order. I think the developers should acknowledge that they have an issue and have yet to solve it instead of pointing user to a FAQ even though they have gone through the necessary steps to resolve the issue. Resolving issue #1 created an even more frustrating issue #2. *** to * for not acknowledging user’s frustration.

One of the best focusing apps out there. This app is one of, if not the best app on iOS that helps you break away from your distracting apps. It goes way beyond just sending you a notification about stop using distractions apps and sites which can easily be dismissed. This locks all distracting from your phone by making them literally disappear. It was scary at first and thought there was a glitch and that my phone was erased but after some time everything came up. My only issue with this app is that after go full mode and the distracting apps disappear from your phone which is perfect and amazing but after the timer is over and the apps return by they’re in alphabetical order not the way I set it up. That’s the only reason I’m taking 1 star off. If they can somehow fix that after the timer is up then I will gladly change my review and pay for the app as necessary

Too Many Locked Features. When I first started using Flipd, I found it incredibly useful. However, I watched over time as they slowly hid more of their features under the premium subscription. At first, I was able to tolerate the changes. For example, the change from unlimited breaks with every Flipd session to only one break allowed without a premium subscription wasn’t too bad for me. I decided that it would be best to take less breaks anyway. However, today it was the last straw. I discovered that all sessions longer than 40 minutes have been locked under the premium subscription. While I used to be able to go a few hours to a whole day at a time, now I can’t even spend an hour in a Flipd session. The only way for me to extend the session would be to constantly start a new one every 40 minutes. This is very inefficient, especially since I use Flipd to help me stay focused on homework for long periods of time. I am finding it increasingly less useful than it was before without upgrading to premium. I am in high school and currently unable to get a premium subscription. All I ask is for the sessions longer than 40 minutes to be made available for everyone again, or at least the 1 hour and 4 hour sessions. Flipd has been so helpful for me in the past, and I’d hate to lose so much from such a great tool. If you can make these longer sessions available without premium, it would be immensely appreciated. Thanks so much!

Terrific. This is literally the application that I’ve been looking for. It has helped me take control of my time immensely! I’ve installed other apps like offtime and breakfree but none of them worked, until I stumbled upon flipd. This app is amazing, but of course it has its flaws like hiding every single app other than giving you a choice to choose which apps to hide. What would be great is: 1. Let you choose the apps you want to hide, while keeping everything else. 2. Keeping the order of everything when the time is over and you are able to access things. (i.g., folders and organization stays intact)

I use it almost every day. The first time I ran this app, I was anxious for the whole time it was activated. It made it Impossible for me to use my phone for near everything. Every downloaded app was hidden, and even some of the factory apps including my app store and safari as well. What i like about it is that you can't delete the Flipd app while it's running literally because it's not there to be deleted. The only things I have issues with are the fact that the process to keep the order of your apps is not as straightforward as It could be. Without the instructions from an online article I would have kept trying to install the extension without success. It gives the appearance of not having yet downloaded even though it's ready to go and that's confusing. Also, it would be nice if I could select exactly which apps i wanted to hide rather than just nearly disabling my phone. Other than that I would give the app 5 stars, it's really great.

Decent but has room to improve. Flipd is great for what it does: keeps your phone on lockdown, so you can stop obsessively playing with it. However, there are a few times I would strongly urge the developers to consider that I think would make the app near perfect. 1. Manual Whitelist: Whether or not this is a slippery slope should be the user’s discretion. I need certain apps to study that are automatically blocked on Full Lock, such as Anki or Quizlet. It would be nice to have this ability to place all my games on Lock while still granting me access to my flashcards. 2. Have the icons in the same place when they return. Everything gets all scrambled up and all the notification settings are reset. This tests my patience. 3. There are times when my apps never return after my set time has expired, and I have to manually go into my settings to uninstall the profile. I am always connected to the internet, so I’m not sure what the problem is, but I hope this can be fixed. These problems are nearly enough for me to consider a different app, so I hope they will be taken seriously. Thank you.

Incorrect Study Times. I have been using Flipd for months (since this summer earlier, and it is now March and I have not even touched another app). I love the calming art and aesthetics of the app, and the ability to track different subjects, times per week, goals, etc..and to make different timers, stopwatches, and pomodoro clocks. The issue I have is that the timer tracks incorrectly...I studied from 01:26 to 04:46, and yet the timer listed my study time to be 00:46 to 05:26, when in reality it is not even 5 am right now.... This disrupts my perception of productivity and is very upsetting. But the app is wonderful, and I have faith that it will be fixed soon! 😊

Full lock - Apps in Order feature didn’t work during iOS upgrade. Very frustrating to have apps not organized after Full lock mode. I downloaded and installed the workaround to keep apps organized. After two failed attempts it worked...until I installed the iOS 12 update while on Full Lock. I put into Full Lock at bedtime to avoid peaking at the phone in the middle of the night. The workaround app disappeared during the update and all my apps were in disarray (for now the third time). Putting things back in order and the associated frustration is very annoying and totally detracts from the app experience. Any zen calm freed from the distraction of the phone have been superseded by the app mess cleanup efforts.

I wanted to like this app.... This app is almost perfect. I could see this really helping me achieve my goals by helping me get off my phone so much. I didn’t even have issues with my apps getting oh of order like others mentioned. However, the nuisance of having my notification settings reset every single time you go into “full lockdown” is enough for me to delete this app. There’s no easy fix for this. Every time to go into a different app the app prompts you if you’d like to turn notifications on or off as it does when you first install an app. And whatever your settings were for the notifications before full lockdown gets erased. For example: for my email app, I only have the badge notifications turned on. After using full lockdown and selecting “allow notifications” I then got a default notification (with sound) every single time I got an email. Which is like every other minute. Which caused me to look at my phone to see why it vibrated/made noise. The exact opposite of what I’m trying to accomplish.

DO NOT GET. so i downloaded this app and it was great but then when i used it for the first time my apps never came back and so i had to go into my settings and delete the system from my settings and when i did contact them it took forever for them to reply and all they told me was to try again and they are working on it so i tried it again multiple time and it still never brought my apps back and finally i gave up on the app. THEN my phone started to act really weird (ive had this same phone for almost three years now and have had 0 problems with it) it started blacking out shutting down on its own its not even connecting to my cellular data anymore and im stuck with basically an ipod that continually shuts down. DO NOT GET THIS PLEASEE seriously it damaged my phone that had no problems at all due to this app. I would give it negative stars if i could.

Most productive for those who truly mean it. I have done some research and there is no other app that truly lets you to take a predetermined commitment and stick to it . The beauty of this app is that it literally locks down your apps , no other app does that , I am thinking it probably even goes against the agenda of most smart phone brands and that’s why it is such a pain to install . Anyhow, I rarely review apps but I must say this is the most productive app I have tried so far ! Keep it coming ! We will need more of these... They say Cortez burned his ships on shore to ensure everyone stayed inland and get done with their tasks... While it is not the most morally reassuring example , this is very close . Humans are prone to cheating ...

Idea is good, execution is not great.. When you pay for an app, you expect it to work well. I bought this app to help limit the distractions and to help with focus. The app does this by “hiding” all non essential apps on the phone for a specific time that you can choose. The idea is great. But there are a couple of issues. First, you cannot control which apps are the ones you would like to hide. Not all apps are distractions. It would be great to be able to control which apps are hidden. Second, there are issues with the app working for the specified period of time. For example, I set the timer for an hour. An hour goes by and the apps are still hidden. This is an issue that needs to be addressed.

My icons!. So yesterday I used for first time and loved the FULL LOCKDOWN. I was able to use text, email and phone but nothing else, well camera and standard apps I basically rarely use. I was surprised to find there was no way to disable this at least that I know of. Ok so here is why I gave it only a 3. I have the majority of my icons in a separate folder because I DONT like my screen cluttered with icons! So when my phone went OFF full lockdown ALL OF MY ICONS WERE ALL OVER MY SCREEN!!!!! If you are going to block them PLEASE PIT THEM BACK! Ok so it’s a free app does that give me the right to complain???? I would never pay $7.99 a month though or is it $5.99? I forgot but either one is way too much! Ok so last thing is that you can set an alarm, an alarm that is basically worthless because it is such a faint little “ting” that if you don’t have your phone right next to you it is worthless..... plus I haven’t seen a repeat feature for the alarm so when you miss that tinny ting you can set it to ting again and again till you turn it off. Other then those complaints I really liked it and will use it again. I set the 4 hour mode lockdown and when I need google I wasn’t able to access it but that’s good in one sense I guess... I got a it done!

Used to Love This!. I honestly used to use Flipd every day for school, work and reading and made so much progress! I recommended it to my entire family because I was feeling so inspired by all the progress I was making. Recently, Flipd changed all the other modes (like “My Day” “Study” and “Sleep”) to be limited to the paid subscription, leaving the 40 minute option. I was so disappointed that I actually reached out to recommend that they bring back the more flexible modes, and there was an update released the next day that restored the original version. Now, it’s back to the limited paid version. I am still searching for a replacement and I really am so disappointed that they changed it, it was to be the only effective way for me to unplug and get stuff done!

Great for productivity increase. This app has been wonderful for getting me focused on my tasks, and makes me mindful about unlocking certain apps, and the time I am wasting passively browsing. It has made me a lot more productive and creative and I can’t wait to try out the premium version.

Great but ..... I love the app. I don’t get distracted any more and it’s amazing. But there should be somewhere you are able to go onto the app and stop the “flip off” especially the “full lock” maybe keep the app on the screen when it is “full lock”.

Not at all use friendly. I am not technically challenged at all but I cannot for the life of me work this app out. There are no instructions and the settings the “blog” refers to are impossible to find. I don’t get it! I am trialing the Premium version but I definitely won’t be buying it. Pretty useless.

Not working. I enter the time I want to be "flipped off", press the button and then go do my thing. After a while I come back and check and it say's I've completed a whopping 0%!! It keeps happening and I tried both locking my screen and leaving it on to auto lock and it still does it.

Buggy. Kept loading on starting a timer, didn’t load.

Good and productive. It’s such an incredible and productive app.

Not that great. The feature that disables other apps is quite buggy. I wanted to test the feature to see if it worked or not so I disabled my apps for 5 minutes. After 5 min had passed, the apps still did not return. 2 min later they still didn’t return. I started to look for ways to stop this and finally I went into settings and removed this app from profiles. Later, I wanted to let the app try again but I couldn’t install this app back in profiles (though that’s probably a settings bug). I haven’t tried out the other features yet but from the tutorial it seems like a pretty good app. I am very excited to see the rest of the app but please fix the buggy feature. Thank you!

Great!. It’s really helpful! One feature that might help is a “count down”. I sometimes give myself some time to finish checking social media/finish typing comments/say brb in chat before I flip off. Right now I use the scheduled time and just constantly move the times to what I think is good but a built in count down (like 5min, 10min, 30min etc) would be cleaner.

Wish I could keep some apps. Don’t get me wrong I love this app because it’s a lifesaver but I wish I could select some apps that I would like to keep during the lock, like music apps

NEEDS A CHANGE. I honestly love Flipd but I wish that there was less features that you have to pay for. Especially the unlimited breaks. Even though I could just end the session it is really quite annoying. Same with the pomodoro timer.

Scam. Took away full lock mode only to make it on a separate app and to charge $16 a month for it, pretty much useless now

Amazing productivity app. I love this app. It has helped me so much to reduce device distraction. The only option I wish it had was to customise which apps it hid. I work for an international company, so if it could keep communication apps active like whatsapp and messenger, that would be the only thing that could make it better.

Have to keep the app open. Perhaps I misunderstand. I study online and thought this app could help me to focus and track my study time. But, the app has to be kept open and in the foreground. If I minimise the app so I can log into my study group, the app stops working!! I could run it on my iPhone while I use my iPad, but that’s no good if I’m on a break at work and want to study on my iPhone.

Great app but needs improvements. I spend way too much time on social media so this app is amazing! But I do find that after using the full lock mode I get the notification settings message when I open my apps up again, which I annoying. Hopefully this will be fixed.

Fantastic. Helps me to do homework as I’m not using my phone anymore. Wish you could add more categories, rename them and colour code them.

How do I get the apps again.. I put my phone In that full lock thing and set the time for 5 minutes. It has been 24 hours and I still haven't gotten my apps back. Please someone help. How do I get my old phone back.

Room to improve. This app is fantastic but there are a few flaws that let it down: • I have been getting a bug where my apps do not return after the full lock time expires. I have to remove the device management and reinstall it to use full lock again... This has happened several times now. The next points lay mostly with apples restrictions but are still worth mentioning... • I have to sacrifice Googles MDM profile to use flipd on full lock. Which I do to help me stay focused. However it’s a big sacrifice for me because I manage my entire business through google apps. • There is no whitelisting option available. Apps which are not distractions at all are blocked on full lock which can be a hinderance.

Deceptive “free” trial is not free.. Claims that you can have a 7 day “free” trial of the full app - but if you do, they’ll charge you more later. That’s not free.

Does the job but music annoying!. This keeps me focussed (I only use the free version) but the optional music you can listen to while studying is very repetitive. Literally the same melody over and over again. It would be great if there was a bit more variation!

No instructions. Don’t know what I’m doing. Do t know how to use this. Where are the instructions??

Full lock unavailable. When will full lock come back?

Does the job.. sorta. Happy to pay premium for full lock (ie blocking access to all apps), and more than 30 mins, but each time I come out of it, many apps ask me for permissions as if they have just been freshly downloaded including Flipd itself which also has me having to restore my purchase (for all features) every third or so time. Paid for a month. Might try an alternative after that expires.

I love full lock mode. But a better mechanism is needed to stop apps moving all over the place when you log back in. Current fix seems to prevent me from entering into full lock mode more than once - after that it can’t seem to connect.

Simplicity. Great app

Don't go there.. Unusual customer relations strategy: I lodged a request for a refund for a premium purchase I had not authorized. I did not receive a reply to my communication, but I did receive *463* identical emails spruiking the perks of flipd premium. Passive aggressive or an unusual accident? The app's okay, only stats on time spent off the phone, no stats on time spent on. I can't access the premium features even though I've now paid for them.

Great app but needs improvements. I think that the full lock is a great idea but after I’m finished, my apps are everywhere! Plz fix

Great at removing distractions. This app is super easy to use and great for getting work done. Would highly recommend!

Love it but it's lacking ONE feature. App is great but needs to have the feature that you can select apps that won't be locked out. Especially when you're a pro subscriber!!!

This app saved my study and grades. this app is seriously helping me through my study! HSC trials period currently, don’t think i’d survive without this app keeps me on track and getting 20 hours per week of study done! will always recommend

Amazing. This app is amazing. It helps focus, and it helped me improve ALOT! I highly recommend this app. Awesome effort aswell!!

Buggy. I purchased this app and cannot access premium features - log out and then sign in again, couldn’t do so either! Really disappointed. I used this app before, it’s nice at first but later after full lock session your apps sometimes won’t come back, a bit panicky

Too much premium. When I first got this app it had very few, if any, premium features, and the app was simple to use. Then I got a new phone and couldn’t find the app. Now I have the app again but there’s been some big changes to it and no instructions on how to use it. I don’t think I’m getting the most out of this app anymore. It’s still a useful tool, but having to lock my phone every half hour while trying to break the habit of constantly looking at my phone is making things difficult.

Great app, needs more options for blocking. Great app would be cool if i could block for more than 24 hrs though

Easy to navigate but little functions on free mode. The display, colours and tabs make the app pleasant & easy to use. The free version however doesn’t have many unlocked features, but it’s enough for me to make do with! Thanks for removing my distractions!

Way to expensive! 👎👎👎. Seriously what’s with all these apps that make you continue to pay and subscribe, just make a fixed price! 👎👎👎👎

Bugs. This app would be such a great idea if it actually worked! It works well when I’m trying to concentrate and hides all second party apps, but then when they all come back after the hour, it redownloads every app I’ve ever downloaded back onto my phone??

Doesn’t Do What It Says. This app allows the user to simply delete the profile to regain access to all their apps in less than a few seconds making it virtually useless. Very unhappy I wasted my money, seeking a refund.

Really good app!. Helps me study! My grades have improved :)

Life changer. Thank you so much for creating a beautiful app. I love using it and I love the aesthetic :))

I wanted to love this. It is sooooo hard to find a good blocker app. This came close. I could handle all my apps being scrambled and needing to rearrange after a session but I can’t ALSO handle having to go into settings and downloading and giving permission for vpn every single time. Going to keep looking

Flipd. Found it useful for studying!

Not really free. Save yourself the trouble and just use pomofocus.io Nearly all of the features are paid. I literally can’t even pause a Pomodoro timer. As soon as you tap it, it pops up with the “Upgrade” window. Seriously, just charge for the app if none of the features are free, instead of wasting my time downloading and deleting it.

15 seconds and deleted. Really not user friendly ! Deleted !

At this point they should put it in the paid app section.. I used to love this app so much and it really makes me sad to see the direction it’s going in. With every update more and more of the base features of the app get thrown into premium only and now With the latest update it’s not even worth having the app anymore unless you’re willing to pay a bunch of money. Really unfortunate.

Helpful. Love it! So helpful and motivating !

Good but missing some desired features. I am finding the app useful, but there are a few features I wish it had. One would be a timer option rather than having to always set specific time goals. Another being the option to input time spent on specific tasks after the fact. I’d also like to have the option for “breaks” during a session to delay the count down on the allotted time goal rather than eating into it. Finally, I wish it had a more comprehensive interface for viewing, setting and tracking progress on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals; and a page for viewing/reviewing scheduled daily reminders. Maybe what I’m looking for is beyond the intended scope of this app, but it just seems so close to being capable of bigger picture goal tracking that I can’t help but wish they would just take it those couple of steps further. Plus I just like the app’s overall design aesthetic. It’s cute and fun, but I’m looking for something with a little more depth :P

Good. Its a good time management tool. However, I can’t keep track of all my tasks since I can’t name all of them. I can only “tag” tasks which is good but I actually want to know whAt I’ve been working on in retrospect.

Used to be free. It’s kinda sad because 2 years ago the app was totally free and it really help to manage school, studying and sleep. You should reopen some mode like de 12hrs or sleeping period :(

First year uni. I love this app! My favourite session is the study live because I can see how many other people are also working hard. Love the multitask feature too.

Disappointed. It’s March and still no update. This used to be one of my fav apps.

Amazing App. This app is amazing, I started using it more frequently and my marks went from 66% to 90% and next year I’m going to take IB classes, one of the hardest classes in high school! Thank you, Flipd for motivating me to do better every time!!!

Fix bug. My home screen got unorganized after the time was up. All my folders disappeared and the apps are scattered all over the place. Please fix.

Great!. So far so good I’m liking the app it’s great if your planning a glow up or any other sort of thing that involves getting your life together

Love. I’ve tried so many productivity apps before this and even after this and I still find myself coming back to this one. It’s so well designed even with the free version and I honestly love it, it’s genuinely helped me get back on track and helped my motivaton.

Music. The app is great, but my only complaint would be that after a break, the music won’t resume and even if I click on a specific soundtrack, it plays for less than a second and stops completely. It does this repeatedly.

Thank you. As a student my grades aren’t high and I’m trying my best to get everything together before the end of the school year it might be late but I am determined to get things going my way I am now able to monitor my time between school hours and hours where I need to do actual homework this app gives me the vibes and encouragement to DO BETTER Thank you

Full lock. Full lock is not Working. Please pleeeeeeze fix it. 😭😭😭😭

There is a fix for the rearrangement of apps. There is a fix. I had not read the settings carefully when u fully lock. But the notifications do go for a toss. Still i will rerate this app

Someone else can control your phone remotely. While installing this app, message appears that administrator can control your phone remotely. He can collect your personal data, add and remove account, erase data from your phone remotely. So, someone else have full access of your phone if I have this app installed on my phone. 👎☹️☹️

Terrible Customer Service. I attempted to contact their customer service email regarding an overcharge for the subscription price and I have yet to hear any word from them. I’m not even able to cancel my recurring monthly subscription from this company by email. No one ever replies. Ridiculous customer service and I would stay away from this company at all costs. Use your money elsewhere.

Great app. Please add more Shortcuts or a way to generally start productivity and associate a has tag at the beginning. This is missing, so I have to constantly replace my Shortcuts. Please also separate sleep and stuff from the daily productivity goal or allow us to choose what's added to it. This is messing up my stats for the day.

Disappointed with updates. I used to love this app but recently it’s obvious that all of the good features have been moved to premium. This is pretty disappointing. I’m not going to pay for premium - I’ll just use the app less.

Perfect for students. Im a MSc student and ut was hard for me study for an hour non stop but this app really helped me.tnx😉

Borderline a scam. Should clearly say what features you’re getting with a free version of the app in the description. Hard to exit out of the screen that pushes you to pay.

Trial need to be free, not 3 times more the monthly fee …. The app is just a tracker of activity, and priced so expensive. Why you charge 3 times more the first 3 months at once ? I had to spend just a couple minutes with this pro-features to release that That’s not what I’m looking for, but too bad I have paid 3 months trial for trouble the price ??? What is that a scam or what ?

Disappointed. When I first got the app I had a couple of options. I hadn’t used the app in a while to come back to only having one option and the rest is premium. Super disappointing. If the only option I have disappears then so will the app from my phone!

I love it. Super easy to use and makes me productive. Only negative I can think of is the longest you can do is 40 minutes

Helpful. Pretty nice, I can keep track of my efficient study time but bit pricy for the full functions

Amazing App. Helps you track your time and stay productive

The best app for studying. I still patiently wait for the Fulllockmode, hope you guys’ll bring it back soon. Keep up your work <3 I luv u

Good aim but brutal execution. Just so so so many little bugs I had my hopes up but so many glitches in scheduling work times into the calendar or into the pie chart or just glitches in allocating study time to the times in the day you actually studied Getting random numbers of study time for like 72 hours in a day when u logged 2 and things of the like Support team is literally unreachable which is frustrating

Needs to fix bug. As of today, Jan 11 2020, the full lock feature is not working. This is the most important feature. Please update, as I just paid $50!

Full lock mode????. Is it out yet?? Only premium?

The best productivity app out there 😊. So far this app has helped me so much, because I easily get distracted from my phone and this app literally hides away all my apps so I can study and finish my homework. Much better app compared to forest/flora in my opinion. I can see myself using this app for as long as I’m in school.

bug fix pls. a good app and everything but it won’t let me lock my phone or else the session will end. it uses up a lot of battery

Ask for money after you download it. Subscription service for this? You kidding me

No more full lock mode?. That was the only reason I used the app when will be able to use it again?

I’m kinda bummed with the new update.. Why isn’t the lock thing free guess I’ll stop using the app.

amazing. brought me to tears just such an amazing help i literally love the team so much theyre doing such an amazing job its so beyond helpful and such a nice resource and the fact that they dont put so many of the features behind a paywall fills my heart with hope and joy because they know a lot of us are just broke students really focusing on school and school alone. i really appreciate this app so much thank you for everything truly.

Holds your productivity hostage for money.. Brilliantly designed app and the features are interesting, but all of that is useless when everything leads to a premium splash screen. You can’t even study for longer than 40 minutes without paying! There’s a difference between locking features that are actually premium, and artificially locking things like TIMERs. I’ve paid for many apps that boost my productivity, but don’t want to give money to a company that literally holds your productivity hostage. Also, $6/month for a glorified timer has to be a joke.

Needs improvement. Why is there no dark mode? Also, it would be extremely helpful if there was a sound/alarm when the time was up.

Good tool to stay focused. At first I was skeptical, but this app really helped me. Every time I’m about to procrastinate I get a reminder to go back to my work, and I go back to being productive

Fix Notifications. I love the app and it deserves 5 stars, but one major thing ruins the experience. After going into full lock mode, it messes up all the notifications of third party apps such as Snapchat and Facebook. Even after you re enter the app and re enable notifications, they don’t work. Fix this and get 5 stars.

Good but could be a lot better. It would be so much more helpful if the app had a todo list with subtasks. Feel like this is something crucially missing

Not the same. Used to love this app, now they are turning everything into paid subscription.

Fix this please!. As app developers there are so many better ways you can make money and make the premium version better than it is. Capping the timer at 40 mins for the free version is not it. At least change it to an hour… There is no point of using this app because the premium features aren’t worth the price, and the free version is locked out. I have to keep resetting it every 40 minutes which gets me out of my flow. My friends and I want to use this app but it’s not worth it for either the free or premium version.

works great. i dont use it a lot but when i do it works great and keeps me on track.

Useless. You know I can pause a regular iPhone timer without paying for it, right? Not in this app apparently, you CAN’T PAUSE. Embarrassing petty greed

Fix this for iPhone users please. For iPhone users it rearranged your apps and gets rid of folders you have made. If this function didn’t exist it would be a decent app, but it’s so annoying to rearrange your phone after every use of this app.

Great app. One addition. I love this app. At first was a little skeptical about the permissions and trusting the app with my information but ended up trying it and it worked. The new extension lets your apps go back to where they were which is great. 2 things: 1: There should be a setting to toggle notifications of apps back on after a full lock. All of my app notifications went away and I missed emails and other important information because of it. 2. There should be parental settings or an option to choose which apps get hidden in full lock. If I have a work app and need to do a full lock, the app I need for work disappears along with the games. Overall, great app and could add some things to make it better

Can’t get it to work.. I downloaded the app and I was jazzed to try and use it. I’m not an idiot, but I can’t figure out how to get it to do ANYTHING. There no “flip off” feature. No full lock feature. The Troubleshooting section tells you to go to Settings, but there isn’t a “Settings” button anywhere in the app. The “how to” pertaining to Full Lock is helpful for some app, I’m sure, just NOT the app I have (because the article referenced buttons and locations that do not exist in my app.) I can click on a “Mindfulness” session and that seems to be the extent of the app’s usefulness. Every video I can find makes this app seem so easy to use...but what I’ve downloaded is...NOT the same app.

Just one problem. Anyone who has tried Flipd knows the Icon issue is intense! I’ve got hundreds of apps so when they jet out of their cool little organized folders it’s chaos. But I’ve come to accept this and when I’m on a book deadline exploding folders is a minimal price. I end up moving the apps I use frequently back into folders then leave the rest hanging until I decide if I really one to keep them or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ If they could figure out how to keep the apps in folders this would be a 5 Star app for sure!

Great help!. I’m one of those people who tends to get on their phone at night, when I’m in bed. However, I decided to try this app. While it’s been really helpful in most ways, the one thing that I don’t like is that when it comes out of full Lock Session, the apps are no longer in folders or in the order I put them in. I will be using the full Lock Session only when I really need to concentrate. I’m now leaving my phone in the living room at night.

It does not make any sound when time is over. It is a good app to study. What I don't like is that it doesn't make any sound when time is up. On many occasions it has happened to me that I continue studying without knowing that time is up, which does not allow me to have an exact record of the time I was studying. It is not productive to be studying and have to be pending of the time to know how much is left to finish. They should definitely improve on that. So I give it 3 stars, if they change that it would be an excellent app.

Great idea! Not executed right. I love the full lock feature but there needs to be a way to turn if off it need be. I saw other people having problems with apps getting unorganized when it turns off but I have not had this problem. Great to focus on studying or just take some time off your phone. Another problem is turns off notifications in setting for each app and doesn’t automatically turn them back on. Using do not disturb mode would be a better fix to this problem rather than notification turn off.

I didn’t know how distracted I was until now. This app completely changed the way that I view work. Before I thought that I was a slow worker who would take hours longer than other kids to complete assignments. But it turned out I was just incredibly distracted. With this app I completed an entire essay in just one hour! This app also gives you breaks and reminds you to get back to work which were all super helpful! I will think about subscribing to the premium service!

Actually works for me. Flipd has actually guilt me into studying more and being more productive in general. When you leave on a break, it can’t last for more than 5 minutes or else you lose the session. When you leave the app for like two seconds, it does the same. There’s also this mode where you turn on some white noise- I personally like the campfire one. But now, every time I hear the crackling sounds of a campfire, I feel like working; and I actually do go to study!

Needs improvement. I love being able to completely unconnect from my phone and to have all the apps be blocked, but when I went into full lock it took my messages away and I missed texts that said my grandpa was sick. Also on a less important note, it rearranged all my apps into alphabetical order so I had to spend like 10 minuets(I know not that much but still a waste of time) putting them back in the order I wanted. If the developer could do something about the messages being blocked and the apps being rearranged it would be much better.

Was great, but one issue!. Update: Rating was at 5 stars and now is 2! It used to block Safari which was a key feature but know it won’t! Please fix this ASAP! You had an amazing app, I regret updating now!! Update: msg be fixed, haven’t found s as my beter app. And folks, $35 a year, really? If most minimum wage jobs pay $15/hr you’ll get that money in 2 hours!! Other apps are too expensive!!!! But I do miss the all in one lock app, before Apple made them divide into separate apps.

Flipd is the best!. This app is awesome. My brain doesn’t feel like mush that’s been overstimulated for every second of the day. I’m a small business owner, so I do need to access my social media accounts throughout the day. But I don’t need to access them every time I’m at a red light or every time a website is loading. I turn off my apps for 4 hours at a time and I’m free to just get to work. It’s amazing. Seriously, this is great! Only thing...just so everyone knows, you need to be in good cell service or have good WiFi in order for your apps to come back at the time they’re supposed to.

Pretty good, don’t like the price. I absolutely love this app especially because you can go on full lock mode and you can do it for a long periods of time. The one thing I really don’t like is the fact that you have to pay $34 per year to use this. I mean I get it, you are trying to make money but come on! I’m a sophomore high schooler and I don’t have a job. I’m addicted to my phone and I just wish this app was fully free so I could be off of my phone for a long time. Other than that, it’s pretty darn good

Amazing!. This app works perfectly! I do hope they add scheduled lockdowns that auto enable a lock down at a specific time. The UI of absolutely beautiful and I love the circle used to select a time amount.I wish the service was cheaper because I definitely can’t afford the expensive subscription as a student. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this app.

Super useful for keeping track and on task. Since I work a job where I’m not on the clock, it helps to have a way to keep count and stay accountable. I like to be able to set small time goals of undisturbed working, while keeping track of my overall work for the day. The week counter is useful for that reason as well. The regular improvements to the app just make it better and better, and the app support is pretty great!

Used to love it until it moved all my apps. I loved this app because it’s the only one I found that actually worked. I need the full lock mode. But then I updated my phone and now if you use it, it resorts all your apps to alphabetical order, not the order you put them in. At least now they warn you before you lock it. Since I use this multiple times a day, it’s no longer a viable option. The mindful moments isn’t enough for me. All that said, I still haven’t deleted it because if they ever fix this super annoying bug, I’ll go back to the app. Hopefully soon!

almost perfect. I used this app for the first time yesterday and it’s just what I needed. I recently went back to college online so I need to manage my time and productivity even more so but I get distracted and lose focus very easily. The complete shut down is exactly what I need to force me to get my work done. The only problem I have is when the lock down is over all my apps come back scrambled and not in their original spots. If that was fixed this app would be everything!!!!

Don’t get this app. I got the app and it was a little laggy nothing major. I decided to do some homework so i turned it on full lock mode for 30 minutes. i checked my phone after 30 minutes and all my apps had been moved out of the folders which i organized. now i have a loottt of apps so they were hard to organize. i immediately deleted this app. it seemed like the app deleted all my apps, then downloaded them again because i had to allow notifications again for all my apps. long story short don’t get this app because there at better ones out there.

Stops working and needs to be reinstalled constantly. I have been paying for the app services for about 5-6 months and in that time I have had to uninstall, reinstall, and google fixes every month or more because the app either won’t activate at all, or it will not turn off Full Lock Mode and I don’t have access to any of my apps, even with access to high speed Internet at work and at my house. When it works, it is great, but it only works 60-70% of the time. I will not be renewing my subscription and I encourage others to do more research for more reliable options before working with Flipd.

Had so much potential, but. I just want a simple app that would help me keep track of my work sessions. I thought this was the app for me, but for some reason, the timers stop at random times. I just want the timer to count up until I stop the session. I created a work timer and it says it will count up to no set time- BUT IT ALWAYS STOPS AT 40 minutes!!! Why?! I thought it was a glitch with that timer so I deleted it and used a preset study time that counts up to no set time. It stopped at 33 minutes! WHAT IN THE WORLD! Once it stops, I can’t change it so it keeps going. There’s no way to edit it. So this app would be great if it worked.

My favorite app to use while studying. It is a complete game changer. I’ve been using Flipd for over a year now. I used to have a hard time being off my phone and focus for long hours and honestly flipd was the only app that made it possible. With the lofi music you can play while the timer is on, keeps me so focused and tricks my brain into thinking “it’s study time”. I absolutely would recommend this app to all of my friends and family.

Just what I needed!!!. I needed something super drastic like the Flipd full mode where all apps disappear. I have used a variety of apps but my addiction to mindlessly using my phone was too strong. I used the full mode today and instead of waking up Saturday morning spending my first waking hours on my phone I read a book I had sitting on my night stand for the past two months. I got the subscription after such a crazy productive day!

WAY overpriced. Pros: I liked the layout, design, and the little “ding” the timer makes. Multitask mode was helpful. Cons: there are way too many features hidden behind the paid version, and the price of the paid version is way too much for what this app is. I switched to an app called “focus keeper” which offers way more free services, and the paid version, even though I don’t need it because the free one is so good, costs a quarter of the price of Flipd. I recommend doing your homework on what else is out there before you buy this since better apps exist

Premium cost. Considering this is an app geared to high-school and college students, many of who have no or fixed incomes, the monthly and annual fees are too high. Even tho it was flawed, the app is now offering even less without the lockdown feature (which was removed acc’d to the dev response that was copied and pasted everywhere without letting anyone know if it works any better on the new Focus app). I’m too nervous to even download and try it after reading the reviews about it. All that app and notification resetting? Yikes.

Forget that!!!!. I have a bad phone addiction. I only spent the money to help me break off of it by blocking the apps that I spend hours on. But to d that, Flipd is honest enough to let u know that you basically give them the permission to have access to your personal data, erase apps on your phone at their will, and literally have complete access to your entire life. Im glad they told me before I gave permission for the « full lock mode », because I’m not down for that at all. And now I have to cancel this app and account which will be of no use to me, and I’m disappointed, another non-working app for iPhone.

What a downfall... Alright, so I have been using Flipd for about six months now on and off. I am horrible at time management and found this app to be really helpful. Just as I was getting into the swing of using it regularly, they took away all session options and the full lock. I found both of these to be helpful because no matter what I was doing I could set a timer to focus, and really buckle down. The only session option now is a 40 minute focus and that is not ALL I do in a days time. Someone please fix this before my brain goes haywire!

WONDERFUL APP. I love this app. If you have a phone addiction, with one click, you can only call and text and nothing else. You can manage how much time you want to block your apps. It’s amazing once I block everything, I feel present and I have to live the moment. I don’t care that sometimes I have to fix the orders of my apps (not all the times) I think might be a bug. However the benefits it gives, cancel out the apps orders and all that. If you need your life back and you need to forget your phone. THIS APP IS FOR YOU!!!

Pretty good, some suggestions!. This app is pretty good! I use the free version, and I use it almost as a timer for helping me stay on track. I love the graphic design and it is helpful in getting rid of phone distraction. For suggestions, I wish when you were setting a custom goal for the day like “20 minutes study” you could not only set a time goal (20 minutes) but also a productivity goal such as “complete essay for science class” I hope that makes sence, and thanks for creating a great app.

Used to be great. I'm not sure when it happened but over the last few versions of the app, the light lock does not hold after you lock your phone. When you unlock your phone, it ends the session and says congrats you did it and somehow thinks you've completed the session. I've been waiting for this to be fixed and even saw that the description for light lock says you should be able to lock your phone and come back and it will save the session. It's not super useful if it doesn't work if your phone is locked...

Everyday tool for law student. I use Flippd pretty much every day Monday-Friday. I’m a law student and use it both at school and for internships. As someone who has no self control and found apps that simply reminded me to get off my phone to be completely useless, I use flippd full lock and think the price to upgrade is very reasonable. I do wish that once the full lock ends, my apps would back in their original order and that I wouldn’t have to go back and turn on push notifications for each app again.

Decent app, terrible business model. The app is ok, similar to a few of the other ones that do similar stuff although from my time using it you can’t really access the apps that go away during the entire time period , there’s no work around I believe, so that’s a good thing. However after the trip where I didn’t plan on canceling i saw that it automatically renewed for the year at 30. I have a distaste for apps with that business model where you trial , then get hit with a charge and that’s literally their business mode. So a decent app, but unscrupulous model.

Must have for students.. If you don’t have self control/ the ability to use willpower constantly to stay off social media then this app is perfect. Really the only reason to download this app is for the full lock mode which hides all of your downloaded apps for a set period of time and you can’t get them back until the time is up. I’m a engineering student with two jobs, so I really need to be able to get work done. Obviously telling yourself to work and actually working are two different things. This app really helps with that

It’s an okay app. It’s pretty good. The music keeps me engaged and the timer encourages me to be productive. A lot of the abilities of the app are locked because I don’t have the premium version, which can be annoying. I would upgrade, but I don’t think it’s worth so much money. I do like the aesthetics of the app and the quotes are inspiring. Overall, it’s an okay app and I don’t plan on deleting it, but it’s not amazing if you don’t pay money.

App needs to be updated.. I really love this app, it keeps me off my phone and helps me focus on school work. However, since the new iPhone update (iOS 13), it completely disorganizes the apps on my phone because it supposed to put everything in alphabetical order. I understand that I have to agree to it before proceeding to full lock, but it takes everything out of folders too. I don’t know if this only happens to me, but instead of it being put into alphabetical order, it’s just placed in random order. Very frustrating. I hope this gets fixed soon. In the meantime, I’m going to delete this app.

Love love love this app!. I love this app! This app is perfect for those with ADHD or who have a big procrastination problem. Especially if you are the type of person that is just addicted to your phone. This app is for you! It is very strict so you can’t choose what apps to block which I somewhat like. If you want to be more productive you wouldn’t regret getting this app. This app will force you to be productive I know it did for me 🙋🏾‍♀️. It is so worth it download it!

Continuously stops working. When the app is working properly (and you download their add-on to prevent your apps from being re-organized) this is great app. However, I’m on the verge of uninstalling it but it doesn’t work two days in a row without me un-installing the app and re-installing it. I keep getting an error message for me to check my internet connection which is clearly not the issue since it works right after I re-install the app. I’m not sure what the issue is but this is a beta test quality app as currently constructed.

Great idea but poor execution. I love how it locks all the distractions! But the main problem is it won’t unlock after a longer selected duration(4 - 8 hours) and then I’ve to go to the profile settings and remove the certificate. After that apps again unorganized but it’s not a problem when I use shorter duration. I gave up keeping organized every time it fails to unlock. Another problem is that I’ve to turn on notifications for each app when unlock fails. I wish they could fix these bugs and I’d be willing to pay for the subscription on heartbeat

Good concept; terrible execution. The app itself is great. I really love the concept and works as it states. The problem is the hard lock. The third party program that hides all of your apps does as it states, however, when the timer is up, all of your apps come back BUT NOT HOW YOU HAD ORGANIZED THEM. for people who have many, many apps this could be a huge issue. I don’t want to reorganize my phone every single time I do a hard lock. If you could ensure they came back to where they were set, I would even pay money for this because it really does a good job and it could benefit people tremendously

Excellent for anyone wanting to track their study time. I love this app! It’s designed specifically for tracking your study time, which really keeps me accountable. I love the different timers, tags, music, and statistics that it includes. I’ve tried other apps that each have a part of what this app provides, but it’s so much better to have it all in one place.

Nice concept kludgy execution. After a lot of difficulty I did get the app to work. When I ran a "full lock" it allowed me access to phone and message functions and a random assortment of apps that weren't social media related that were scattered across my home screen. The app sorting function never installed properly. When the full lock expired I had to re-enable notifications for every single application. Not good at all! The use of a device profile makes me nervous and the security certificate was outdated and took a few days to get updated. Sent 2 support requests addressing these issues never heard back. Better solution: skip the app and put your phone in a drawer

Phenomenal!!!. Awesome app! For years I’ve been struggling to find an app that limits the distractions on my phone. Not only does Flipd limit them but it completely eliminates them. If only it had an option to shut off your apps while driving I would’ve given it five stars. I also would like to see a feature that allows you to extend the time it shuts down your apps. But, I highly recommend it for anyone who’s an student, employee, or anyone who wants to take their life back from their phone!! Great job Flipd 😉

Hot MESS!!!. Ohmigod, do NOT use this app. Downloaded yesterday and used for the first time today and it totally jacked up my phone. First of all, I had to download and install some secondary trigram that would allow the app to block ALL other apps from the internet. Fine. Annoying, but ok. I tried it the first time for 30 mins. It worked and I thought great! Then 1.5 hours later I try to use some apps and not only is there still no access to the internet—well after 30mins—but every single one asks to “allow notifications”. So, it undid the notification settings for every app. Then I realized all my apps were removed from their nesting folders, completely out of order and now spread across six screen pages. What? Finally, the only way to restore data service was to power my phone down and restart. And I spent an hour Re-organizing my apps back to what they were. Seriously, don’t mess with this. Freedom, although not perfect, is a far superior and intuitive app.

Game changer. I have a really hard time focusing on my schoolwork and this has helped me so much. For me, I am more competitive than anything, so the fact that Flipd shows you the total time you’ve stayed off your phone makes me want to stay off my phone more just to see that number go up. Great for people who are easily distracted by their phone! I’ve read that full mode rearranges your apps, so I just use the light mode, but it still works great!

Premium price is crazy expensive. The app has allowed coupons for a while. Now it doesn’t. The normal near $4 a month cost billed annually is really high. Most of the features are half baked. The app has never had real social aspects as one example. I just want longer times than 1 hour. Crazy to pay $45 just for that.

Great app!. This app is actually so helpful. I set the timer to 2 hours, set it to full lock, and I have no distractions and I can get my homework done very quickly. This especially helped me study during finals, by making me put down my phone and actually focus on studying and reviewing for finals. I definitely recommend this to anyone that might need to reduce distractions during homework time.

Great app!!. This is the best app I found for focusing. Every time I use full lock, I worry a little that the apps wouldn't come back in the same order, but they do! One suggestion - every time a full lock session ends, I have to enable notifications for each app manually. If I do several sessions per day, this becomes very time-consuming. If you can come up with a way to enable notifications automatically after each session, it would be great! Maybe I'm not doing something right. If so, please let me know. Thanks!

Works but could be better. The app works and does what it’s supposed to do. Looking at earlier comments, it seems that the issue with apps is resolved with the download of their second app “Flipd Organized” that the app routes you to once you have made a profile. The major drawbacks are as follows: 1. It appears that in order to add the permission to get the full block, I had to delete my work’s permissions... I will see if I can fix this on my side. But it is not ideal to only be able to have one or nothing for the data management. 2. The scheduling part of the app is not what I was expecting. By only sending a reminder to lock my phone, the app is really putting too much power in my hands to make decisions... I was hoping that once I made a schedule it would simply implement. 3. A major weakness of the app appears to be that I can block all downloaded apps or none. It would be fantastic if I could selectively allow my work apps (Skype, outlook, gmail, notion, etc.)

Good concept, bad execution.. Now, forgive me if this issue has been fixed. I haven't done a hard lock save for once, and this is why. When I did the lock, it did exactly what I wanted it to, but when I got back into my phone, and everything reappeared, I was signed out of all of my apps. I don't know if this can be fixed, but it was a huge issue for me because I didn't receive important notifications from those apps. I would love a developer response here, because it seems like a big issue, and I want to be able to use this app to help with my phone problem.

Encourages Focus. I felt like for the longest time I just couldn’t focus on anything. I would try to study, then take a break and I would always end up on social media. I wanted a tool that would help me regain some self control. This app has definitely helped discipline me into a more focused version of myself. Some of my favorite aspects of the app are the daily inspirational quotes, the reminders for extended break times, and the tracking aspect for how much you’re studying.

Keeps me committed. I have a problem with constantly being on my phone even at work. I needed something that I could not cheat or override and this was it. I put it in full lock down mode and all I can do is call or text. All social media, browsers and apps are totally hidden and inaccessible . Gets me off my phone. It was hard at first I will admit. I was even having anxiety issues but I have calmed down and kept with my lock down schedule. Thank you for helping me.

Smart phone to wise phone. I have a major smart phone addiction. So far, this is a godsend. Probably going to subscribe. Need to be able to whitelist a ride sharing app and it would be double useful, not just when I'm at work but when I'm out and about in the world but trying to focus mindfully on the people I am out with. I have to use light lock those times it case I need to hail a car unexpectedly, which is much less satisfying.
