I really enjoyed this game.. I am 65 and use games like this to keep me thought process and memory banks challenged and sharp. It also gave me a A wonderful opportunity to connect with my 12 year old grandson, a 38 year old son and husband, as we spent several hours working some of the achievements together. Made an old ladies heart warm. As for the game problem solving, I did become stumped on a few problems and found the hints un-useful. The game indicated I spent just over 8 hours to complete. LOL some of that time was spent cooking and walking our dogs, as I sometimes would forget to turn the game off. Great job, really enjoyed the game, beautiful graphics and the 3D effects added to the over all atmosphere of the game. Will work it again in a few weeks.

An inferior version of the room. It’s pretty good, the graphics are great and the game is challenging. They basically copied “the room” game mechanics, along with the eye piece, puzzle style and hint system. Although it’s a quality game, playing it came with some frustration. In many instances the objects you can interact with are not responsive enough and will only move/slide if you do it precisely from the angle they intended it to move. Some of the puzzles made very little sense to me and were not fun to solve. Also, I found the hint system to be pretty bad. It would often give you clues for thing that you’re already a head of, like you’re trying to solve some puzzle and the hint would say “have you noticed this puzzle?”. Sometimes the hint would say “maybe I should use this item in my inventory but where?” Not helpful. Also the hints would try to forward you to a certain location with an obscure description of it. For example, it would say “there was a protrusion near the golden decoration that might be movable” and I’m googling protrusion and can’t find any golden decoration on the screen. Lastly, the eye piece only works if you look at the exact spot, meaning you can’t just scan the room with it. To sum up, if you haven’t played the room games, buy them! They are the original and much superior. If you have played them and looking for a similar game, this would do.

Yes, it is similar to The Room series.. This has been mentioned in previous reviews, but this game is clearly inspired by the "The Room" series. So much so that it even features the monocle piece device. It also has very similar artwork and captures the same intrigue as its predecessor. I enjoyed the puzzles and setting the game offered. The story was also impressive, but I prefer the mystical aspect The Room series had to offer. Although, near the ending it did add more of a mystical element. Even though one cannot call this exactly original, it is still well made and entertaining. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because of how much this game borrows from The Room (I would have liked to have seen new features). I feel like I am starting to sound redundant, so if you are a fan of The Room series, you will enjoy this.

Too many glitches!. I have had the game for 24 hours. It looks beautiful, but it is awkward to play with delays where you will complete something and have to repeat it several times for it to “take.” Other times you complete something and get stuck because it is unclear what to do next. For example on the catapult, I easily got the bottle image lined up, but when I zoomed out nothing happened. The hint said “when you turn the crank you can arm and fire” but nothing told me how to do it. After watching the instruction video, which said to turn the circular wheel on the left of the catapult, I tried and nothing happened. I was stuck and gave up. When I tried later, I found that I could just push down the trigger on the back right of the catapult, and it worked. Really annoying. If you love the ROOM, I would think twice before buying this. I quality of play just is not nearly as good and is oftentimes aggravating. Disappointing. (I am playing on an iPhone - the same one I played all the ROOMS on with no problems.)

Nice Title. I've been waiting for the Room IV for awhile now and DaVinci fills in pretty nicely. The graphics and story line are not quite the caliber of the Room series, but still engaging. I enjoy this style of game, and would play at least one more from this company. If I have any criticism it would be this: Too many keys, not enough other. One day I hope to see Obduction for IOS. Might happen, though probably too large a file for most cell phones. The two best games I've played on a phone are Myst and Riven. I Hope that helps you decide. Update: Played DaVinci first on an iphone6, then an ipad7 with headphones. Noticeable positive difference. The quality artwork comes alive with screen size. The stereo audio does some interesting things without being distracting. Second play through has been more fun than the first, mainly because of the larger screen. In particular I like the several small furry creatures gathered together in a cave grooving with a pict.

Captivating!. I've been a big fan of The Room series. DaVinci proved to be even more challenging in many ways. The game is very well constructed, and the graphics and music are beautiful. I've ignored my family for two days while I finished the game. My 10 year old daughter is now playing and loving it. Some of the puzzles are a bit challenging for her, but in terms of content, I would consider this game to be fine for children. I'm helping her on some of the more difficult puzzles. My one and only complaint about the game is regarding the hints. I tried not to use them in general, but sometimes I caved when I got stuck for a while. More than once, the hints I was given pertained to a part of the game I'd already completed. I hope a sequel is under development!!

Finally - A True Classic - Better Than the classic Mysts, etc. I've longed for the old classics that really had a good subtle story line, superb graphics, and most of all the challenges that were both appropriate to the story and challenging without being overly obtuse. THIS ONE DOES IT ALL AND MORE. The variety of puzzles and challenges is wonderful - and they fit perfectly with the theme and the graphics - and they aren't just a repetition of earlier ones that so many of the other games default to. The hints are well timed and not too obvious for those certain times when the solution just doesn't want to reveal itself. There were several times I felt the end of the game was around the corner only to find, with great joy, that the game was still afoot. This is a level above The Room games, which are a five star offering themselves. Please, please, please - send more of these our way. Thank you for raising the bar back to a most enjoyable height.

Generally quite good, UX has some issues. Generally a very good game. I enjoyed playing it. Comparisons to The Room are great, too many, really. I liked the Di Vinci perspective. But the UX was frustrating at times. Zooming was especially random, sometimes you could look 360 degrees, sometimes not, and sometimes you could get directly where you wanted to go, and sometimes you had to do crazy zoom in and zoom outputs to make a lateral move. The surfaces and scenery were gorgeous, games adequately challenging. But sometimes I solved a puzzle just by touching it to see what the controls did, and sometimes when I knew just what I needed to do I either couldn’t see or the controls were overly difficult to simply get to move. If they had just invested a little bit more in the playability, it would’ve gotten a full 5 stars from mr.

It’s not bad but not close to the room series. So I went in enjoying the graphics and the interestingness of the story. I honestly think most of the reviews above 4 are those who haven’t played the room series. I have a 4 because I want to be fair playing the room first. It’s doesn’t match up though. The room has a natural progression you can solve without the clues if you think and analyze, which this doesn’t have. You have to muddle around with no natural progression to additional events and activities. The coloring doesn’t allow your eye to catch the clues investigate…it’s hard to differentiate anything and therefore you spend a lot of time wasted searching in vain. The clues once given aren’t intuitive, you literally don’t see the connection until the last clue very often. It is NOT a bad game at all but it is 100% a level below the room series. It will take a lot to get me to pay for the second in the series knowing I will be frustrated and lost unnecessarily. I played the room and enjoy the struggle trying not to use the clues and use my brain. It’s just not possible to get through this game without them and that’s disappointing.

Similar to the Room Series. Finished all of the Room Series Games and looked for something somewhat as immersive as those. Additionally, I am fascinated with Leonardo Da Vinci and what devoted from his inventions/theories. I was not disappointed. The House of Da Vinci developers gave me decent challenges with the puzzles, I looked forward to the next Chapter to continue the journey through Da Vinci’s designs. The only slightly negative critique is the darkness of the environment. While I understand the game’s developers took me through the rubble of destroyed rooms, they could add the need to light an area with torches or candles, etc. This issue is not enough for me to downgrade the game’s rating; however, some may find this irritating when searching the rooms for the subtle nuances required for puzzle-solving. Finally, even though I solved the final puzzle in the last chapter, I thought ending was somewhat anti-climatic and left me wondering if this was truly an ending or a novel method from the developers to arc into future Da Vinci games. (I will not elaborate, since doing so would become a potential spoiler and possibly stop others from purchasing this game...not positive if others share this point of view. Hopefully, this ending arcs to additional games!)

Good game! Very unoriginal.. The House of Da Vinci is a very well done game, with only minor control issues every now and then. I managed to get through it in about four hours and I was impressed about just how tight it felt. The problem comes in the lack of originality. Now, I've been a fan of The Room series from the beginning, and this game is the most blatant copy I've ever seen. The Oculi that you receive in the first chapter are clearly direct rip offs of the Eye piece from all three room games. The first of the two Oculi even allows you to see inside and manipulate machinery, which is almost exactly what the upgraded eyepiece in the room does along with letting you see things invisible to the naked eye, which is also something the first oculi does. Although the second Oculi is more original, and I did quite like the time travel theme, I wish it had been used more often. Several times throughout the game I have seen many objects that look almost identical to ones in The Room, especially in the Crypt when you get a particular key that bears a striking resemblance to the Craftsman's Key from the third room game. Now, this isn't to say I didn't enjoy this game, in fact, I quite like it. I would love to see a sequel, but I would advise a little bit more originality. Maybe ditch the first Oculi or make modifications. Overall, I do recommend this game.

The catapult section is beyond painfully picky. I was enjoying the game until I got to the part where you must aim the metal sight on the catapult at the glowing target on the wall. The idea is fine but nearly impossible to do because you need to be zoomed in on the crank that moves the catapult to move it, but then have to zoom out to see where it aimed. This would be fine if the screen was locked but it isn’t so you must swipe upwards to see the target again, which allows you to move the view of the catapult and target in any position, so you really have NO IDEA where you actually are aiming in relation to the crank! Even when you manage through infinite fussing back and forth to get it where you think it’s perfect, you must double tap on the wheel to zoom in so you can arm the catapult, and this tiny motion is enough to throw your aim off again. During the past two days I’ve shot at least 25 rounds and 3 even went straight through the target and nothing happens. Unless someone can get me a work around this is where the game ends for me. It’s very disappointing as I prefer the point of the game to be figuring out the sneaky nuances, not aiming something on an IPad.

Disappointing version of The Room. This game makes me angry. The puzzles are solid, though not quite good as The Room, but the controls are awful and unintuitive. I don’t know if the developers just hate iPad Mini users (latest generation, iPadOS 13.5), but it seems like it wasn’t tested at all. Pieces slide the wrong direction, rotating motions stop and reverse, double-taps aren’t recognized. I don’t know if the game is intentionally blocking me from doing certain things out of order, but there are times I have to try the same thing five times in order for it to work. The latest example is (small spoiler) by the tank, combining the rod and the metal end. I kept trying over and over, I pressed the hint button which told me to do the same thing, and then it finally worked. The camera size for the iPad Mini seems off, too. Certain parts of the puzzle or scene can’t be seen, and panning the camera is frustrating. If you’ve played The Room, your expectations are a lot higher. This will scratch the itch, but is an exercise that left me swearing at the application.

Beautiful. I loved this game. I finished it in 6 game hours, though it was probably less as I fell asleep playing it more than once (not from boredom, but because it kept me up playing long after I should have gone to bed)! The game was challenging but doable, and I loved the fact that you can walk around whole rooms an areas; the play space felt all around bigger than those in The Room series. I did have one small glitch- in the last area, I found a miniature flying device that I was supposed to stick into a camera like machine, except it wouldn’t go. The game thought it did, though it stayed in my inventory. Because of this I could not figure out which symbols went with which tube, so I had to literally go through every combination. Luckily there were only 3 choices for 3 slots, so there weren’t many combinations, but it kind of took the fun out of figuring it out. Besides that it was a fantastic game, stunningly beautiful graphics, and just all around a great time spent. Ive been looking for a game to pull me in with the challenge and beauty of the Room, and this definitely didn’t disappoint!

I'd give 5 stars, but.... As a fan of puzzle games/escape rooms, I really really like this game. Nice graphics, interesting story and fun puzzles kept me very entertained. The problem was with the oculi (hope I spelled that right) when it wanted to work everything was all good, but when it didn't I would wonder around questioning if I did something wrong, of course I was doing it right, but it was glitched and then I'd have to go to the net to see what I needed to do, because no matter how many times I'd refresh the chapter it still didn't work. I see that I'm not the only one with this problem and I'm playing on an iPad mini. Developers please fix your glitches!!! I'd give a 5/5 if you fixed. :D UPDATE: I am changing my review because I was not using the oculi correctly. I am leaving my previous comments above incase this happens to anyone else. I was not aware that the oculi had two functions (well I did, but didn't understand the true mechanics) I thought it was a one button does all, not realizing you need to swipe down for the memory and up for the hidden clues. Now that all my frustrations are gone, I can 100% give this game a 5/5!!

Just like The Room. So, this game is JUST LIKE the room. Ok, so it is not original, but it is very well produced. The Room is the real thing, but this is just as good. Same programmers???? Im not sure about the ethics about this, but with that said, I certainly enjoy playing it. If this game was called Room 4, I would be satisfied, and that is a COMPLIMENT, as I consider the Room series to be the best iPad games out there. Note to developer: Great work, but maybe go with an original theme next time? airplane, submarine, Romans, aliens, Disneyland? You certainly have the design and programming skills, but maybe you need some help in the creativity dept. But to potential purchasers, if you like the Room, you will like this also. A very slick game indeed. And one thing. I first gave this game a poor rating because of the oculi bug. Except i am now not sure it is a bug. You have to push the ocluli for maybe 2 seconds "sometimes". Once you figure that out, no more bugs. I guess it could be by design, but I doubt it.

Top-notch play for the most part. This actually deserves 4.5 stars — absolutely beautiful imagery, a little too dark to discern on an iPhone at times, even with brightness turned way up but amazingly beautiful in the evening hours. The sound effects are really what make this game special for me… The Room had it too! All the clandestine clicks and clacks make my heart’s ears...I mean...ears’ heart pitter-pat. Challenging puzzles, some so much so I had to search the walkthroughs but still most were easy enough to enjoy. My main complaint and reason for the downgrade is the inability to switch between devices. Why?! Doesn’t make sense that one can’t enjoy on an iPad by day and then work a bit on it as they go to bed. Lol maybe this is normal for some games but I have played a few where both worked as if connected to apples Game Center or whatever. But major props! Would totally buy another one like this! Would love a Jack The Ripper or some time of killer/evidence investigation thing—not like the hidden object games tho.

Cannot get to work, no support. I made it through 80% of the game overcoming the "minor" glitches. Then I encountered a glitch I couldn't get around. I asked support and on the second try they finally answered that there are no current bugs and referred me to a video. The game is not behaving like the video. After multiple tries, the game is now acting even worse and I cannot even get past puzzles that I got through before! Further questions to support have gone unanswered, undoubtedly because "there are no bugs"! I bought this game over a month ago so can no longer get a refund. I waited so long for support responses because other reviews say support is so responsive. This appears to be false, so I cannot recommend anyone buy this game. Yes, it has incredible potential and is fun when it works, but in its current flawed state is not worth $4.99. If support had helped me through the problems, I would have overlooked these problems and given it 4 or even 5 stars because of how well it works aside from these glitches. Hope it improves, but unlikely if they won't even admit there are problems.

Beautiful. I love assassins creed 2 and this kinda has that vibe, it’s a very aesthetically pleasing gaming. The puzzles are the right kind of challenging but the only “complaint” I have to far is when you have to turn a key or something in your inventory the movement of the whole object is just as sensitive as the movement of the key, so I usually twirl around the box or my viewpoint of whatever I’m trying to unlock. That being said it’s just a minor annoyance, I have an iPhone 11 Pro and my screen is big so it’s not too bad, just something to think about. I’d still recommend this highly recommend this game, it’s fun and is a great way to spend time in quarantine! I’ve played dozens of these style of puzzles over the last few weeks (some free and some paid) and this one is the most intriguing story and visually to me!

Fun But Definitely Inspired by The Room Games. If you enjoy puzzle games, then you will like House of DaVinci. However, it's very obvious that the game is heavily inspired by and in many was similar to The Room games. Since I like The Room games very much, I also like House of DaVinci. The graphics are great and, if you get stuck, the hints are helpful. I would warn though that playing it on a smaller iPhone screen (as I am) can strain the eyes. Overall, it's an enjoyable, challenging game - especially if you're fans of The Room and similar puzzle games. On a side note - another reviewer mentioned how helpful it would be if there was a way to adjust the brightness in the game and I wholeheartedly agree. Some switches are VERY hard to see, especially playing on my iPhone. If you have the option, play on an iPad instead. Still, I plan to keep an eye out for more games from this developer.

Desperately needs a puzzle reset option. All in all, enjoyable and creative puzzles. More than once I found myself several moves into a puzzle and finally starting to understand mechanics and rules, only to find myself hopelessly down the wrong path with no hope of returning to the starting arrangement. Some puzzles reset for you, and some don’t. I don’t understand why. The only way to restart the puzzle was to restart the entire chapter. Awful. Most of the puzzles are just hard enough; I relied on a number of hints just to get myself to the right next step, although every so often the hint was so obscure I found myself looking up walkthroughs. There were a few puzzles that I just couldn’t figure out the arbitrary rules; the “Risk” game being the big one that stands out. Your army goes up…or down…depending on…um…some entirely decipherable reason, I’m sure. As others have said, The Room is the original and the one to beat. But this was a nice diversion. Start with the room if you haven’t already. If you want more, try da Vinci.

Great style but lacking. I love first person adventures like this one, and was sent here by the room series and myst. I love the look and the gameplay is similar to both those series with a few minor issues. While the puzzles themselves are not overly complex, the guidance of what you are supposed to be doing is sometimes unnecessarily vague. SPOILERS Early into the game you encounter a globe. You are expected to put different words into mechanisms in the globe. The clue looks like each word goes in a specific hemisphere, but the locations on the clue and the actual globe don’t line up, forcing trial and error. Once the globe is open, there is a RISK style puzzle but the rules given are vague and seem arbitrary. These frustrations mean the game feels more like a grind than a true puzzle, and this is fairly early in. I am still playing and will update if it gets better, but for now I feel a little disappointed.

Fun, but sometimes infuriating. Obviously inspired by the Room series, this is a fun game and for the most part a worthy successor. However, I have four specific complaints about things that make it much less enjoyable and immersive than the Room games. 1. The controls are far less intuitive and more frustrating. Often, when I am trying to turn something, it ends up turning the opposite way. Several times, if I don’t hit the screen just right, I can’t move a piece that looks like it should move (and in fact does), but accidentally move the entire screen instead. Then, I don’t think the piece moves, and I get stuck waiting for the hint that tells me that in fact it does. 2. Can’t zoom in close enough. When something changes or opens up, half the time I can’t see it clearly enough to figure out whether there is something to manipulate. 3. Similarly, please allow zooming in on all pieces, even if they’re not ready to be used yet. It seems like some things open but aren’t “released” for me to look at more closely until they’re ready later. But that’s frustrating. Oftentimes, something changes or opens, but because I can’t see clearly enough to know what happened, I have no clue as to what to do next or why the change matters. Please allow zooming in on new pieces or changed items, even if there is nothing specifically to manipulate on them. These things would I think make this game a lot more enjoyable and less frustrating! Thank you!

Beautiful and Engaging. While a little too early to determine how linear it may or may not be, the lavish attention to detail and the complexity of the puzzles make for a tantalizing experience. I am only a little disappointed at the number of times I have been forced to use the assist. The eyes in the bust, for instance, are not so easily seen to be like buttons. I also think that one or two more "combining" exercises (putting together discovered items) would have better established the means of actually performing the task – it is simple enough to recognize the need, but the process is easily lost amid distractions while looking for ways to use the items without thinking to combine them. THAT SAID – I purchased this game because I enjoy such gorgeous exercises. "The Room" trilogy set the benchmark, and—while whether it meets or surpasses the mark remains to be seen—"House of DaVinci" is (so far) giving a very good show.

Beautiful and promising but too frustrating to finish. The graphics are beautiful and the music is delicate and amazing. The game mechanics are so finicky and frustrating that I have given up on the game several times because I’ve stopped enjoying it. Yes, it’s similar to the Room games, and that was why I purchased it in the first place. I love puzzle games, I looked forward to the overall storyline, the game is beautiful (if a bit dark on an iPhone 7+ with up to date iOS) and the music suits the atmosphere perfectly. The main difference for me is that the Room game mechanics are effortless and mostly intuitive. I rarely had any experience in any of the Room games where I was frustrated just trying to move a piece along a track. In contrast, this game is tetchy, finicky, and fiddly. I don’t know that I would call it buggy or glitchy, but maybe poorly programmed. The hint system is endlessly frustrating too. When I got tired of trying to fiddle with some puzzle piece or drawer or slider, I’d give in and check a hint only to be told something obvious I was already doing. It’s a beautiful game with soothing music but I’m deleting it from my phone because it’s not relaxing to play and I’m tired of struggling with it. It’s almost there, guys! Let me know if you decide to smooth out the mechanics of it and I’ll gladly try it again!

Becomes Glitchy (for me) after completing the Library. I don't often write reviews, but I'm hoping to get some help. First of all, this seems like a great game (what little I've been able to play so far), enough so that I purchased the full version and played through the library again. However, since I passed the library and entered the lab (?), the game crashes so much I can't accomplish anything. I use an older iPad 3, but generally do not have problems with game play. I re-uploaded the app and again was able to play through the library, but upon moving on to the next room immediately started having the same issue as before. Game play to this point seems flawless. But I can barely do anything at this point and am booted from the game every few seconds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A Promising Start to a New Series. Every review is going to mention the Room series, and it's accurate. This is very much inspired by them, and it does a decent job satisfying those cravings. Most of the puzzles are clever and interesting, though some lose their logical through-line in the later parts. It doesn't feel as satisfying to solve them when the solutions are random. There was one puzzle I needed help with -- a color puzzle, where the rotating discs were indistinguishable for somebody with colorblindness like me. It would have been nice if the textures or color direction were more distinct. I took for granted how well The Room handled its touch controls until I played this. It's frustrating to try to pull a lever and instead toss the camera wildly every few swipes. The game doesn't put too much pressure on fast or precise control, so it's not a deal-breaker, but a little annoying. The game is a lot of fun, even with its shortcomings. It's a good first entry in what I hope is an on-going series of these puzzle games. It's not The Room, but it's no slouch either.

Play this before you play The Room. It’s not a room knockoff as much as other reviews say it is. There is overlap for sure but a) there’s only so many things you can do on a puzzle adventure with a touch screen and b) they devs clearly went out of the way to put a new spin on just about everything so it honestly feels as similar to The Room as Call of Duty feels similar to any other FPS game. That said...you’ll like this more if you play it before the The Room. It’s a good game but lacks a certain something that The Room has in droves. Puzzles here feel a little tedious and irritating at times and everything is more spread out in Da Vinci which makes it harder to keep track of everything to find/solve as opposed to the Room games which feel focused even in a busy environment. Still a fun game overall.

Wonderful fun, and beautiful to boot!. A worthy successor to great puzzle games like Myst, The 7th Guest, and The Room. Loved exploring the beautiful scenes and figuring out what to do next. Also a good length -- took me about 8 hours over a few nights to complete. One minor thing I didn't care for was that the hint system doesn't track what you've already done, it just gives you the next hint in the series for that puzzle. So maybe you've already found a piece, but the next hint you get tells you where to find the piece you just found, rather than skipping that one and giving you a hint for what you actually need to do next. Eventually you'll get the hint you need, but you may have to wait a while to get the one you actually need. That said, it was a very minor flaw that didn't hinder game play. Can't wait to see what's next!

Good game - not for iPhone. I have been thoroughly enjoying this game and highly recommend it - but I very much wish I had started it on my iPad instead of my iPhone. The small screen size definitely makes finding objects and manipulating them difficult at times, and can even make figuring out some of the puzzles a lot more challenging than the puzzles really demand. That said - as others have noted, this game plays very much like The Room series, on which it is clearly modeled. The puzzles are fairly straightforward for the most part, although if you are as spatially challenged as I am, some of them can take a while to figure out :) For me, the overall challenge level is just about right - not so easy that I am flying through the game, but not so hard that I am throwing my device across the room (or watching walkthroughs) at every turn. Hope this helps!

It's The Room: 4. If you are a super-fan of The Room series of games like I am, get this immediately. This game is so incredibly similar to those games that it astonishes me there hasn't been a lawsuit already. Everything from the art style, the inventory, the puzzles, the eyepiece, the story, the notes left by your mentor, the borderline between science and alchemy theme, the eerie but not scary ambiance, the hint system, the list goes on. For all it's similarities though, there are some subtle differences. I found the puzzles to be slightly (only slightly) more frustrating than puzzles in The Room games, with the next step in a puzzle sometimes being a little too obscure. Other notable differences are the historical setting and a new mode added to the eyepiece, allowing the user to see glimpses of the past. The only thing I can criticize the game on is sometimes the touch controls feel somewhat clunky and imprecise, lending to frustration when trying to preform basic interactions, particularly on smaller objects. Overall, this game is definitely worthy of picking up for any true puzzle game fan, just like the any of The Room games, and is a shining example of what a puzzle game should strive to be. I personally hope they make a sequel that's just as great as this one.

Disappointing. If you are familiar with the original “Room” series, half way through playing this game you will realize why that series is still considered the leader in this category. The one thing that sets The Room apart is how it elicits a WOW response in the player. There are so many times when solving a puzzle and watching an amazing result brings on an almost giddy feeling that is, for lack of a better word, delightful. Too many times in this game I felt that it had become a drudgery and solving a particular puzzle was a relief and not a delight. Several chapters dragged on and on and took way too long to complete, leading to more of the feeling of drudgery. Add to this the quirkiness of some of the puzzles that leave you completely confused about what is to be accomplished, and the needless requirement for high positional accuracy in others, and it leads to less than warm fuzzies for the game. The “ending” of the game comes as a complete surprise, as it just suddenly stops after completing one of the puzzles. It’s like the developers did not know where to stop so they just threw in an epilogue and called it good. It really made no sense and felt incomplete. If you’ve never played the Room series, you will probably like this game quite a bit, as it is challenging. But if you’ve come to this game through playing the Room series, you may very likely feel the way I did when complete. Disappointed.

Astoundingly Beautiful Game! Review update below.... Puzzling at its best! Reminiscent of the all time great The Room but has a different flare and artistry. I love a challenge and The House of DaVinci does not disappoint! I'm now 30 minutes minutes into the game and am highly entertained and engrossed completely. The graphics are excellent and gameplay is smooth and responsive. The music is absolutely perfect as it's sets an appropriate mood throughout. The puzzles are thought provoking and while indeed challenging, are not impossible. The gaming, artistry and challenging puzzles make The House of DaVinci more than worth the $5 cost. I'll be gifting several copies of this game in order to support the very capable developers. Great job and thank you developers! I contacted BlueBrain Games Customer Service after getting stuck in game. Had a problem with the octahedron puzzle which turned out to be on my end. I cannot say enough about the fantastic customer service from BlueBrain Games. They were quick to respond and very helpful. This is a company that will go far. Very impressed!

Beautiful game and interesting concept, but difficult to play. I've played quite a few games similar to this, such as "The Room" series, and I've never had such a hard time playing a game. If I hadn't played so many in my time, I would think that I'm just terrible at this sort of game. However, I don't believe that is the case. The game itself is beautiful, well developed, and has an interesting concept. However, the gameplay is lacking and could use improvement. It is often difficult to tell when something can be looked at or moved, and placing objects is very hit-or-miss on where the object is dragged. When I get stuck, the hints are not very helpful either, as they confuse me even more with their vagueness. It's an okay start to a company making this sort of game, but it is too painstakingly difficult to play for me to fully enjoy. *Edit* Also, there is a section I can't pass even though I do everything all the walkthroughs I've read have said to do. Cannot finish the game.

Fun, but frustrating. As everyone else has noticed, this is somewhat of a blatant ripoff of the room series. But it’s also very buggy. Many times when you put on the lens, it won’t show what it’s supposed to. I’ve sat through walkthrough videos only to find that the lens shows something it doesn’t show me, unless I equip/unequip it 4-5 times in a row. The activation areas on some objects are also really small, meaning things look immovable when they’re not. Could benefit from better usability testing. Edit: I understand the difference between the two lenses. The “tempus” one requires you to draw a symbol before you can go back in time. (spoiler) But for example, in the crypt, on the side of the tomb, with the lever and Roman numerals, I would equip the “infinitum” lens, and nothing happens. Then if I repeat 3 or 4 times, I finally see the hidden path and can see what turning the wheel does.

I was looking forward to this game but..... I was quite disappointed. Having played all The Room games, this is just like it in a sense. Same concept, different story, which to me wasn't the disappointing part since I love The Room. The graphics are quite good and it has potential except that it's full of glitches. I can't get the oculus to work. I had to go on line several times to see if I was doing something wrong but after following some videos step by step, I still can't get the darn thing to work. I kept going back and restarting the chapter, but that seemed to make things worse. I'm playing on a iPhone 7+. Things seem a bit disjointed at times, and I found that in many occasions I couldn't achieve a certain action unless I waited for the hints which took forever and were very vague. At his point I feel like I wasted $4.99. To people thinking about downloading this game, I say if you haven't tried The Room, please get it all three of them! You will not be disappointed. Much more smooth than this one and more logical to play without using hints. The Room will be having a new game by the end of '17. I'm looking forward to that. And to Blue Brain I say keep working on the glitches. And be more original. It would be great if you could make something as great as The Room but not so identical to it. Thanks

Wouldn’t have paid. Any stars at all because there were some decent puzzles and the graphics were on point, but I only finished the game because I paid for it. The oculi tempus only worked half the time. I’d have to switch it on and off repeatedly to get the hidden mechanism to show up. The controls were inconsistent. Sometimes you would tap one thing and it’d zoom in on something else, other times you needed to tap on a very tiny spot and swipe it at the perfect angle to work. This was especially frustrating with the cranks and levers. The hints flat out troll you. (Look at the table you’ve been looking at for the last half hour. Or notice that itty bitty thing you can sort of see if you squint.) add this all to the game was actually pretty short, it really wasn’t worth the money. ETA to the developer: I did swipe for the oculi tempus specifically. I was using it correctly, it just didn’t work half the time.

THE MOST AMAZING experience EVER! Even better than The Room series!!. I read one review mention The Room & equate this game to it, and I didn’t need to hear more. I immediately bought & downloaded this game, and I was ecstatic right away! It’s very much like the room, with the SUPERIOR graphics, sounds, atmosphere, and puzzles. I dare say that I even liked this better than The Room for several reasons. There are a lot more “rooms” to work thru, he puzzles are a tad easier to figure out without relying on the hints all the time, and the length is superb! It took me over 8 hours to complete the game, which feels just right to me. (Well, I’d prefer to play forever. But, if it MUST end, I guess 8 hours is fair.) Games like these are what I had hoped for when I bought my first iPad. BRAVO! Really well done, Blue Brain squad. :) Please make hundreds more of these, and I promise to buy them all!

Lack of colorblind mode detracts from otherwise solid game. This is an entertaining puzzler in a similar style and approach to Fireproof Games’ ‘The Room’ series. However, it’s hampered by the eventual appearance of a puzzle that’s impossible to complete if you have one of the most common forms of color blindness. While this used to be a common issue, most studios have learned that it’s trivial to add either a ‘colorblind mode’ or to simply add other shape-based or pattern-based cues to puzzles, and there’s really no excuse to not make accommodations for this. For the dev’s reference, the puzzle in question is the gem puzzle in the Crypt chapter. If you can’t tell the colors of half the gems you’re supposed to place in the right place, it’s no longer frustrating as much as it is infuriating. If you can’t see the colors, you can’t even look up a walkthrough or guide to get past- you’re just done. I’ll see if I can’t get a friend or family member to handle that for me.

Good, complex.. First let me just say that this game should not be compared to The Room. The only similarities are that there are puzzles to solve, a storyline and lenses that reveal hidden aspects of certain puzzles. That is all. Maybe the graphics, but I digress. Any comparison to the game should be seen as complimentary seeing as they are on par with one another in terms of enjoyment. The House of Da Vinci is a beautiful game. Great music. Models of Da Vinci's original inventions imagined as puzzles. Lots of fun and mystery. The only issue I have with it is the complexity of each chapter. Things will be going smoothly one moment, then the next you're hit with a puzzle so complex that you start considering having to Google the answer. Then, there is a puzzle in the room that you thought you had completely figured out and therefore had discarded it from your mind, then, three or four puzzles later, you are required to return to it. This can become annoying because there's nothing at all obvious about it and you have to resort to using hints to tell you to go back and take a fifth or sixth look or literally tapping on every single object in the area. While these issues are fairly annoying, the game as a whole is quite fun. Highly recommended. 4 out 5.

Fun but a bit frustrating. I very much enjoyed playing this game but I do have a couple complaints. The first is that the oculi only worked about 80% of the time. I kept coming to points where I was stuck and begrudgingly used a hint. The hint would point me towards using the oculi on a specific item, but it wouldn't work. I'd have to keep clicking the oculi on and off and by the 9th or 10th time, it would finally reveal what I should have been able to see all along. That wasted tons of time and was very frustrating. Another complaint I have is that is was very difficult to turn some of the cranks and wheels. This was particularly frustrating when trying to solve trial and error puzzles where the cranks had to be turned over and over and over again. My last complaint is that I really would have liked to be able to explore objects more freely. Movements and perspectives are very restricted. For instance, there was a chest in the upper level of the time machine level. I was only able to look at the front and it was annoying to not be able to explore the sides and the top, even if it's wasn't integral to solving anything.

Not as good as “the room”. This game is really good so far- I haven’t been playing too long... but it’s just not as good as “The Room”. Those games the controls are much better, the over graphics.... for example. If you’re “investigating” something in the room, it’s MUCH easier to move things around, turn keys, pull a drawer, slide a secret item, move something that isn’t obvious etc. This game it takes me SEVERAL tries on the same items, (like sliding a secret moving piece) before it actually moves... so you kinda have to tap tap around the screen. With the room saga, it’s SO MUCH EASIER to navigate, pushing, pulling, turning, moving items like you’re really there. These games are fun because they’re hard, the items aren’t obvious... but if they aren’t obvious and aren’t responding to us trying to move them, it gets so frustrating using hint after hint for them to tell you the item you’ve been TRYING to move, moves. Could just be my download? Not sure. I hope it gets fixed!!!

Great, harder than the Room. I have been wondering for the longest time why there weren't MORE clones of a franchise as great as "the Room." Finally, someone has filled that wide-open hole on the app store. As a Room game every couple years isn't nearly enough. And this team does it very, very well. Just as pretty as the Room... perhaps puzzles aren't quiiite as elegant, but they're easily more challenging. I can complete room games with few to no hints... I find it impossible here. But, the hints are there if/when you need them. Every great game we play today was inspired by those that came before it. I'm truly shocked about how much flack these devs are getting for what nearly all devs do... take something that worked, tweak it and add your own touch. I understand rolling your eyes at the 5000th coc knockoff, but this is a whole genre that has been the exclusive domain of 1 dev for years. IMO, it desperately needed some clones. My favorite Room was Room 1, when it was more like "the Box" than "the Room." Somehow it's easier spatially on my mind when you're mostly orbiting around a single, complex mechanism... rather than fiddling with 6, 8, 10 separate items that you constantly have to walk between. This game is probably most like the Room 2 in that regard... lots of different items across different rooms, but not as sprawling as room3 and it's huge hub world. Top notch, high quality product that Room fans owe it to themselves to get.

A decent room knockoff. As a huge fan of the room series and their take on the "escape the room genre" I'm constantly on the lookout for similar games that can hold me over until the next room game is finally released. While this game isn't as polished it's a worthy knockoff. Every now and then some actions like turning a crank or pulling open a drawer will get bogged down or laggy. It doesn't happen too much and most occurrences can easily be fixed by zooming out and then in on the object. Although there have been a couple of instances where I didn't know what to do next because the object I needed to move, turn, or whatever didn't respond to my command and I'd end up wasting time thinking the object I needed was somewhere else. That can be frustrating but with it being few and far between I still give this game a solid four stars. There's a story and some lore for people that like that otherwise it's just you stuck in one giant room after the next. No backtracking. No need to speak with other characters to get useful intel. Just a bunch of interwoven puzzles that have so far proven to be both clever and challenging while still being fun

Beautiful and engaging. This game is gorgeous and enthralling. The puzzle mechanics have some rough spots, though. First, the puzzles are inconsistent: the player sometimes needs to carry an unreasonably large object, even though it’s usually something tiny. Other times, some puzzles have very coarse mechanics, so that tapping them is all that’s needed, while others require you to swipe at a very precise angle. It would help a lot if the objects had consistent rules for interaction, too, so that actions like “opening” or “unlatching” could be actuated by the same swipe input patterns everywhere — most objects are fine, but one or two have glitches that end up really glaringly obvious. Second, the clues don’t always help. They are often ambiguous, and might refer to several different things. (Pretty much everything is a “medallion,” apparently.) There were times I was stuck to the point of frustration, simply because the clues were ambiguous, and left me looking in the wrong place. These problems left me feeling more frustrated than challenged at many points. There are some good puzzles for sure, but better consistency across all the puzzles would help. Criticism aside, I was absolutely enthralled by this game, playing nearly straight through. The graphics are beautiful, and drew me in every step of the way. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this publisher!

Frustrating. Navigating the fussy, unintuitive controls is much more difficult than any of the actual puzzles. Expect a lot of double tapping things that look like objects you should be able to interact with, only to zoom in on something that is nowhere near where you tapped. The small details you are supposed to interact with are indistinguishable from the small details you can’t interact with, so it’s frustrating to figure out what specific thing the game wants you to do. On top of that, the hint system is a complete troll. I’m at a part where it’s obvious that I need to do something with a desk. There are two inkwells that look like i should be able to focus on them, but I can’t. After a minute, I get a hint that says, “Maybe I should check the desk”. Thanks for that. I like the art style, and the story has potential, but the controls are too irritating to make it worth going through. A sliding block puzzle where the blocks just absolutely refuse to go where I want them to sealed it for me. If you have ever played a game from The Room series and thought to yourself, “I like this, but it would be better if the controls were sloppy and frustrating to the point of being unplayable”, then House of Da Vinci is for you.

A Beautiful Masterpiece. I've only come across a few games where I truly rate it 5 stars, and The House of da Vinci has now become a part of those select few. The puzzles, the graphics, the storyline, the soundtrack—are all beautifully done to shape this incredible project. I was engrossed from the start, and the suspenseful cliffhanger has me hooked for more from these developers. Nothing was ever too challenging that it made me want to never look at the game again, but nothing was ever too easy that it bored my brain. I was always filled with excitement when the character would sweep through the doors after completing a final puzzle, impatient for the next creative step/level/room of the story. A must game to play, and tale to jump into, for any puzzle lovers, master escapists, and those captivated by a good story.

Amazing game. I really loved this game. It took me awhile to complete it as I did it in increments. I did use the hint system more than a few times but sometimes just because I was lazy. I had to go online to solve a puzzle 2 times. Then I could've kicked myself because the solution was so "easy". The artwork and detail are really beautiful and there is really no repetition in the puzzles or solutions. Some of the puzzles are similar to The Room but the whole concept is similar so that's to be expected; it's what I love about the whole genre. It is beyond me how these creators even come up with these concepts, then design and implement them. I'm very impressed. I loved the DaVinci theme and setting. Ending was a bit flat and confusing but it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment.

Good puzzle game. The game is very much inspired by The Room series and shares many of that series' aesthetics. Therefore if you enjoyed playing The Room (especially the last installment) you should enjoy this game. I'm not going to dock stars simply because the game so strongly corresponds to The Room, however I will knock off a star because the game's color scheme is so dark it makes it very difficult to interact with some of the scenes and puzzles. The controls are pretty tight, but there are a few areas where you need to manipulate objects and pan the camera in the same scene and that can lead to some inadvertent interactions. The game is a good length and the puzzles are varied with a good difficulty curve. I'm just happy there are no "untangle the string" types of puzzles. All-in-all, it is a solid game and I would not be adverse to purchasing a sequel should one be developed.

Best game EVER, if you like challenge/puzzle games!. Simply stunning, amazing, thrilling, immersive, captivating, and off the charts great. It’s the first game I’ve had a hard time putting it down even when I should be getting to sleep or taking care of something else. I was actual a bit sad to reach the end, I wanted it to keep going and going with more rooms, puzzles, etc. The game starts just a tad bit slow but once you get past the first room you’ll be hooked by what comes next. It gets better and better as you go through the game. The puzzles are fantastic and everything is extremely well thought out and planned to perfection. You folks have to make several sequels. My congratulations to you for a job extremely very well done. You have certainly raised the bar for what other developers must now attempt to achieve and offer. You are at the top of your game, keep raising the bar and offering more games like this. The entertainment value is certain a 10 and it deserves more than 5 stars.

Brilliant!. I don't really play games but was shown The Room games a while ago and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have looked for other games of the same caliber and now have found this one!! It is even better as the challenges seem to go for longer and are more difficult and challenging. I hope this game is followed up with more as well. Fabulous!

Must have puzzler!. I am sick of puzzle games that are completely HOG and have struggled to find games that actually involve problem solving. Those who enjoyed The Room series, will love this game. Similar in nature, House of Da Vinci takes you through a simple tutorial before leaving you well and truely to your own devices (no pun intended) to discover what happened to your master. Although the ending is open in nature, paving the way for another sequel, it is quite satisfying and very well done. The responsive controls make the puzzles, which range in difficultly and vary in style, easy to manoeuvre most of the time. The graphics are beautiful, featuring many works by Da Vinci, and are perfectly accompanied by an elegant sound track. Given the length of game play one has (anywhere from 3-9+) hours, this game is worth every penny. I love the feature of being able to pick up where I left off and not having to save every 5 seconds. I am eagerly awaiting the sequel. Bravo Blue Brain Games!

Worth the money. Good experience with this game. Some confounding puzzles that can be worked out in time but also some fairly easy puzzles so frustration does not take over. Looking forward to the next chapter if they develop a sequel.

Outstanding Puzzle Game!. This is definitely the best and most beautiful puzzle game I have yet played! Similar to The Room games, in terms of the artifact-manipulation-based puzzle style, lushly decorative artistry and general ingenuity, but much, much better. It is possible to work out almost everything you need to do without resorting to more than the provided hints and there is a lot of variety in puzzle types. A very well spent 8 hours! Can't wait for more!

Well done. As a huge fan of "The Room" series, I loved this game. The puzzles were slightly less challenging as the room, but that did not take anything away from the game. Beautiful graphics..well thought out and a good brain train. Keep up great work..would so love to see a few more sequels. 👍👍👍

Actually very good. Despite being a The Room rip-off, I have to give full marks to Da Vinci. The execution is excellent, and the puzzles actually better than the last couple of The Room editions have been. Length was good and I felt I got my monies worth.

Easily the best game I've played in a long time 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. DO NOT MISS THIS GAME Wow - this game is simply stunning in its authenticity, attention to detail and pure visual beauty. and the brain teasers are mind bending!!! With plenty of hints if you get stuck. i enjoyed it as much for the amazement of seeing the inventions come to life as for the challenge of solving the puzzles. Finally - a classy game for your brain. I LOVE it!!!

Don't listen to the idiots. This is a fantastic game that is very good in almost all respects. Sometimes the puzzle design is a bit strange but all in all a very good game. The story is finished but definitely leaves open the possibility of more chapters, not sure that is a bad thing as others have said! I'd definitely recommend this game.

Highly recommended puzzle game. Have now played ALL The Room puzzles including Old Sins and now finally after a very long hiatus I have finished House of DaVinci. Love the puzzles, the gadgets, the graphics and animations that go along with ALL of the levels. It definitely makes you think to solve them, and there are helpful hints along the way to help guide you rather than just quitting the game in frustration. So that is good! I highly recommend it and can’t wait to play HoD#2 now. Have just downloaded that for later!

Loved it!. If you were addicted to the room you will love this! However this is so much harder than the room and I relied a lot on the hints, where as the room I didn’t need them. Some puzzles were so difficult that I had to look on google for walkthroughs. Hate giving in but not much choice if I can’t go forward. It would be nice if they had more clues to help the clueless lol. Either way loved the game and and the challenge and happy there is a second one to play next!!

Ok, but not as good as the Room series. It’s enjoyable, but not as much as The Room series. In House of Da Vinci the puzzles get a bit tedious, especially towards the end as they seem to require a bit more random luck to solve rather than logic like the ones in the Room

Throughly enjoyed. I throughly enjoyed this game, you could finish it without using any hints and it would take you a lot longer. It’s all about looking around and putting the clues together. I wish I had not used the clues and stretched the game out longer. I loved it and was sad when I had finished it. 7 and a bit hours. Some clever puzzles. Loved it worth the money

Fantastic homage to The Room. Some things are better, such as the double eye-piece temporal mechanics, the cut scenes and the sheer quantity and difficulty of the puzzles, and the length of the experience. Some are not quite as good- the graphics is a little less crisp, the perspectives often less complete, and I like how in The Room, you can tap an object and get clues of what is required. That said, I’d be hard pressed to know which game I prefer! Thank you for feeding my love of these games!

Spectacular, what more can I say?. I am a huge fan of both The Room Series by Fireproof Games, and the Forever Lost series by Glitch Games. One thing I have wished for for years now is a new game that can equal the experience of an immersive environment with a plot, genuinely intriguing puzzles, beautiful graphics, and some atmosphere. Well, here it is. Worth every single cent. So far I've spent about three hours getting deeper in to it and it's amazing. I have been forced to use the first hint a couple of times but I want to stretch this game out until the end so as seldom as possible. Loving this to bits!!

Best puzzle game ever. Iv played the room 1,2 & 3 and this is by far better (even though they are similar). What I liked about this was that it wasn’t dark like the room was. So good I can’t wait to play number 2

It’s ok. It does seem to rip off the room somewhat, however it’s ok. Having a very similar ocular device is odd. The glove thing seem pointless and the journal does not seem to play any real part other than plot filler. Found the some puzzles adding superfluous complications rather than collecting clues to work them out. Some navigation issue as well. Overall and entertaining game - still enjoyed playing it.

Poor execution of a clone of the room. Maybe if I hadn’t player the room I might of enjoyed this but hard to beat the polish of the room series this was awkward and the mechanics were finicky and off putting and the hint system terrible most of the time it was a step behind and it was not figuring out the puzzles that was the problem it was getting the angles to work properly Was not impressed and had to put it down what a shame they went to all this effort but didn’t hit the mark

Review. This game is really good. I absolutely love playing it and I feel like I’m using my brain a lot trying to figure out how to solve the problems. I just wish it was a little easier too work out how to see the person travelling through time, spent quite a while on that level. Overall it is the best brain game I have ever played and I look forward to completing the game and purchasing the new version. It’s DEFINITELY worth the money. I highly recommend this game to everyone who wants to sharpen there brain.

Very obscure. This game is very obscure - many of the tasks make no sense at all & hints take a long time to appear - Many tImes I though I would never have figured that out if not for the hint - ewven then I still had to look up walkthrough stuff via google - I have played all levels of the game called The Room (which this is a bit like) but the rooms puzzles actually make sense unlike many in this game.

Is this legal to copy as much as this company did?. If it was different form of work, like music, painting, novel, movie whatever, the person who copy as much as this company did would have gone to court for sure. But look at this game. The style of graphic, colour, font, puzzle, control... nothing is new but just exact copy from ‘the room’. I feel bad for those developers and designers who created ‘the room’. They must have put a lot of effort and time to create such master pieces. Hate this company and wish they will fail soon. So gross and so toxic to society.

Rich and interesting. I enjoyed this game a lot. The puzzles weren't too hard for my poor old brain and, in the main, were logical (ok, I did cheat once or twice with a walkthrough but that is more a reflection on me rather than the game). When I first started playing, I felt that it was a copy of the style of the three The Room games, including the use of an ocular. By the time I reached the end, I still see that similarity but I think it is very much its own game, especially in its more expansive range of places and things with which to interact. I rate it highly on its own merits. If I had any quibble, it would be that one or two of the controls were a bit fiddly to operate. Also, and this is a criticism of most of this type of game including The Room series, I find that I often have to crank the iPad's screen brightness up to maximum if I was playing in a daylight lit room. I understand the desire to create the right atmosphere but my eyes are no longer quite up to the task. In summary, if you are new to this type of game or have finished The Room 3 and are hungry for more, you will not go wrong with The House of da Vinci.

Challenging and Rewarding. Fans of The Room series will enjoy this. Similarly challenging with an interesting story and animation to go with it. Something you can play for a few hours at a time and really feel like you’ve got your money’s worth. Just with there was more of a conclusive end but I hope this means there is a sequel on the way!?

Could be better but still a good game. It’s a good game, it had me thinking at every turn, but I think $8 is a bit to much or maybe bring in more levels, I finished it in 5 hours, would have liked it to last longer

Loved It. As a player of all the room games this was a treat. I love puzzles and the House of DaVinci has delivered many challenges. I was quite pleased that with plenty of time and using my brain I was able to succeed and complete this game. Bring us more!

Luv luv luv!. Just read other comments. Who cares if it’s like The Room? I’m glad it is because it is so hard to find HOG’s at this level. Has you thinking and actually using the brain lol. We want more!

Enjoyable if particularly challenging at times. Yes, it appears to be a bit of a rip off of The Room series, but is sufficiently different from The Room to stand up on its own. I would rate the puzzle challenges as somewhat harder than the room overall, and did rely on hints more. I find that I did struggle with one aspect here, more so than The Room, and that is the way that so many puzzles seem to be puzzles for puzzles sake. The Room tried to deal with this (with some but not complete success) by embedding successive puzzles in layers, thus lending to a sense of purpose as each layer is penetrated. But there were times in House of DaVinci where I just felt that the puzzle was obtuse and complicated and roundabout just because. Fun? Yes, still fun, but with a degree of pointlessness that made me feel less engaged with the game. It's probably a tough criticism to level at a game like this because well, that is what this game is all about, so I suppose many won't agree with me on this. Either way, I think you'll still enjoy and appreciate the game and I highly recommend it.

Amazing. Up there with The Room. Why hasn’t isn’t this game being talked about. Lots of puzzles. Great graphics. Will keep you entertained. Only criticism would be you have to be so exact with some solutions otherwise it wont activate the next stage. Had to look at a walk through to see why it wasn’t working even though it was the answer. Always sad when you’ve completed the game. So when is the next one due out?

Good, but not original. Beautiful game and I did have fun playing this. However, I found the hints to not be cryptic enough and way too obvious. It would have been more entertaining if you had to figure out the hints and then they progressively revealed more instead of straight up answers. Would have given this 5 stars if I hadn’t played The Room series first, which just does everything sooooo much better and when you’re playing this you’re always comparing the two in your head. Disappointing that the developers decided to copy The Room so heavily, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time playing.

Excellent. Worked for me! Yes, it is like the room series, but had me hooked throughout. A couple of puzzles had me stumped but managed to sort them out. Graphics are extremely good and I had no problem negotiating the interface. Looking forward to the sequel.

Nice, but not new.. Yes, it is a nice game, but it's clearly a direct copy from The Room, there's hardly a single new idea in it, even down to the oculus. So since it's such an obvious copy, I'm using it as a comparison. The problem is, if you don't live up to the same standard, the copied result becomes noticeably inferior. This game does not have the same elegance as The Room. I've had to apply some persistent tapping to make things work, and I've had to engage and disengage the oculus a number of times in close succession before it would work. Some of the points of interest are so close together, tapping to select the point I wanted became a task in itself. Some of the puzzle sequences also become tedious. When I played The Room for the first time, I could hardly put it down again. This did not occur for me when I played this game. I'm sure the cost of this game was justified by the work put into it, but I didn't feel I got value for money. I think the developers would do better if they put this effort into something original.

Exasperating controls. Frustrating to attempt over and over what you believe to be the solution/mechanism/switch, then surrender to using a hint only to find you were in exactly the right spot, swiping the right way but the effing controls are so finicky that it wasn’t working. Rah.

Looking forward to the next installment. Yes, it's pretty much The Room in many aspects, and good enough to play if you're a fan of the series, however, i found it very frustrating when the oculus didn't work on multiple attempts, and with other touch-on options. If this gets fixed on the next game, I'd be interested in playing on. The artistry of the game was very good though. Also, If I had to ask for one more thing on the next game, I'd love to see a little more original interactive content included in the Da Vinci realm. Edit after receiving response from Blue Brain Games: Thanks for responding and clarifying that for me, it’s not often you see the developer paying attention to their reviews and remedying matters that need such attention. I’ve since played again and it’s makes a little more sense. Visually, it’s a pleasure to play as well, looking forward to the next installment. Thanks again for your reply.

Not bad. It’s a good mind teasing game! Great detailed graphics and sounds! Love all the puzzles! However some parts of the storyline don’t have enough logic in case of solving the puzzles! And the movement is too sensitive with touch the picture while trying to figure out the puzzles! Overall it’s money worth!

immersive ambient game. Me and my kids really loved this game and enjoyed working together to solve each puzzle. Challenging and needed hints quite a lot but such an impressive game visually and loved how it ties in with historic facts mixed with some fantasy. Also refreshingly no annoying ads or in-game payments - just a one off payment and it’s yours. Looking forward to playing the whole series.

Gorgeous immersive 'room-esque' puzzler. I am by the quality and thoughtfulness of games of this calibre. Like the room, the graphics and gameplay are so visually rich that I can already see me playing this multiple times, even though I am only a few levels in as I write this Jaw droppingly good

Frustrating to tap on things and use of colours to resolve puzzles. So, I am finding this hard to complete for the following reasons. I tap on items and it does not zoom in I move items but they do not move....then after a while they do...sometimes going in and out several times. Puzzles in colour matching. Not great for us colour blind folk. Currently stuck on one puzzle as the colours all look the same!! Certainly not as good as the room gets a B.

Awesome game full of challenges and incredible 3D simulations.. PROS. This game has you hooked from the first click. The background music is very pleasant and not at all intrusive. If you are stuck in a puzzle scene, after a short time , some hints are provided to assist you in solving the puzzle. The 3D graphics are true rendered 3D simulations with many 3D true animations. Although we are fairly experienced in playing this style of game, it took us 17 hours to complete. This is a compliment for the complexity of the game which has many challenging puzzles to complete. CONS We felt that the storyline was somewhat weak. With a few of the puzzles we had to check a walkthrough, and even then we only fluked on resolving the puzzle. SUMMARY This game is a definite must buy if you like this style of game. We have already purchased the next in the Leonardo series. We hope you enjoy the game as much as we have enjoyed it. Best wishes to the developers in creating such beautiful games. PS. We would have given the game 5 stars if there hadn’t been some puzzles that were from our point of view impossible to complete even when following a walkthrough.

Great game!. Ima keep this short since I always end up writing huge paragraphs on game reviews, it’s very similar to the room, at which point I thought it was by the same people, but what I like to think is it’s more of a spin-off to it rather then a knock off I like to imagine that after our adventure here the glass thingy was then given to another person playing the room so sorts like that, I haven’t thought to much about it but I like to think it ties in with the room, also can be pretty hard but I got threw it without any tutorials, apart from one which was really brief and didn’t really help too much, but great game good gameplay and mysterious makes you want to keep playing and find out who that winged man was and who was following us and who tried to stab us, when we jumped in the portal, also it’s more Likely I would have soccer punched him but meh I guess jumping into the portal works too

Feel disappointed :(. Yeah it's similar to "The room" games. Not quite as good. At times camera controls seemed awkward to control and clashed when trying to move objects. Small things like 2D flat graphics of a key hole on a 3D box seemed disappointing, so did having to complete the same puzzle twice for a different outcome put me right off. What really let this game down was that the game story is unfinished. With a message of "promise" that the game is finished soon.. For the price you would think you get a full game,it felt more like I was testing A beta version of the game.. If you miss a good puzzle game like the room and can afford to waist some cash then this is ok, But if your debating to get it... Well hold out until it's bugs are fixed and it's a complete story game.

The room. I'm just going to say it. This game is very very similar to the room and directly takes puzzles, mechanics and UI from it. With that out of the way, the game is excellent! and does justice to the genre. Do I want more games like The room series, Yes! But only if they can maintain the standard that has been set and Davinci does this very much so. It feels polished and atmospheric. The puzzles are tight and a mixture between challenging and intuitive. This format of game has been around since point and click. Most memorable with Myst in 1993. I hope to see more games of this quality from blue and other developers.

Fun and engaging. Deeply similar to The Room, so much so it almost feels sketchy, but nonetheless a fantastic game for those craving legitimate problem-solving puzzle games. Honestly I don’t mind how similar it is because it’s well made and fun. The puzzles are sometimes easy, sometimes hard but never impossible.

Awesome. To all those who complain about it being too short... did the coffee or beer you just brought last this long for the same price? Awesome graphics and definitely up there with the room, agent a etc... Much longer when compared to those games. Great job guys

Frustrating glitch. I’ve been stuck on the astrolabe second part in chapter 7 because the game does not recognise the correct positions of the moon I have entered and trigger the next stage. I’ve even replayed the chapter but it still doesn’t accept the correct entries (repeatedly). It’s one of the stupider games in the whole game and whats to be repeated with the numbers / letters wheel is even more stupid. But I could still have enjoyed this game if there was a skip button here, or better yet, the developers fixed it. Now I just feel ripped off.

Brilliant and intellectually satisfying game.. I enjoyed this much more than the Room series. I found it far more coherent and historically it was extraordinarily appealing. I have studied both da Vinci and Florence in this period and playing this game was like time-travelling back there. Congratulations to the game’s makers and I can’t wait for more. The House of da Vinci sets a new standard for games of this type.

Similar to The Room. Fans of The Room will enjoy this game. The only issues I had with it were that sometimes it’s hard to swipe on things to make anything happen; and also that some of the clues given are so blatantly obvious as to almost be offensive. Not as elaborate as The Room, but still quite good.

No Replacement. If you’re looking for something to satisfy you after finishing The Room series, this does the job to an extent. It’a a nice looking game and all but a lot of the puzzles don’t link together and then you get stuck. It doesn’t flow like The Room and you have to use a lot of hints to figure out where to go next.

Challenging.. I loved this game, great graphics, puzzles that get the old grey matter working and yes I did use the walkthrough a couple of times. It is similar to The Room but stands on it’s own with gameplay. I’m off now to play the second game.

The Best of The Room clones. While not up to The Room series this game is the next best thing while we wait for the next one. BTW if you love this game or The Room; Checkout Myst and Riven. While not quite the same sort of game they are very close and as former AAA titles they exist in a class of their own (additionally they have made more games that not on mobile devices)

Loved this game. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. The puzzles were varied and thought provoking. When are you releasing your next game? I look forward to playing that one too. If you have enjoyed The Room series, you will find this one to be just as much fun. Thanks

If you love the room series then you will like this. So far I have enjoyed it the game is very much like the room series except harder. It's based on a different story but the puzzle solving and finding clues are the same. I really like it and hope to see more games like this come out. Well done

Pretty but not great gameplay. While the setting and graphics are amazing and the story interesting enough, this makes for a frustrating game with my whole screen app moving when trying to activate or interact with things and objects and unclear signals as to if something is working or not. Definitely not at the level of The Room yet but I would give the second game a try if I find reviews saying that the gameplay has improved.

Puzzles to solve that will test you. Time well spent on this app. Lots of great puzzles to solve. Music and graphic design are beautiful and eerie. Highly recommend.

Loading. Its fun but it takes forever

Its too good. Every puzzle solvers dream

Riveting and captivating. A great puzzle game! Tutorial was easy enough to learn the mechanics well and difficult enough to get me looking forward to the rest of the game. Well done!

Clunky & poorly thought out. I wasn’t expecting a game as well-designed as The Room. But for $6.99 I was expecting more. The UI is clunky and poorly designed. The hints are full of typos, items are not described properly. Often the hints are not hints but just a description of the scene. It’s like the game was not properly scripted.

awesome!. The game is well made and I did enjoy it!

Fantastic game. What a great game

Amazing puzzles. This lasted me for days. Loved it.

Keeps crashing. Wonderful puzzles and very nice graphics but keeps crashing on my iPad .

Best. Game. Ever.. I’ve played puzzle games since the original Myst came out many years ago. The House of da Vinci is the most beautiful and mesmerising game I have ever found. Don’t miss it. Worth every penny.

Brilliant game. One of the top top top best games was ever published I wish there was a part three. Please make a part three.

The absolute best of its kind.. Well worth the money.

Don’t pay for that. Hello, I paid 8,04$ for this game because I tried the free version and I loved this game so I decied to pay for the full version, BUT when I want to open this game it doesn’t open so I lost 8,04$ for nothing. DON’T BUY THIS GAME. You will pay for nothing.😡

Fantastic.... Loved it even more the second time round, two years after first completing.

As Good as it Gets. Great graphics, refined puzzles and a good story line. An excellent and entertaining challenge. Like all games in this category there are a few times where a “clue” is too hidden to find, but rarely. There is one solution where precise timing is involved in order to move on. Unfortunately, what you need to do is not intuitive at all, I was forced to consult a walkthrough, even then it was difficult to perform. I would still highly recommend purchasing this adventure despite this.

Useless hints.. The hints take too long to become available, and barely useful. When I was trying to open the pattern lock for a chest, the hint was"there must be something important in the chest". Are you fking kidding me? That’s your hint for me?

Need a refund. Doesn’t work! I’ll change this notice after if it work

Loved it. The graphics and motion in this game are superb. And normally I turn the music right off but in this game, I left it on because it was so gentle and atmospheric. I had to cheat a few times to get out of some of the puzzles but, overall, the game is great.

Wonderful Game. Lovely graphic’s and story line. Just hard enough.

Great ... but .... The game in itself is great: truly, truly, truly magnificent graphics and a pretty good intrigue. Unfortunately, some of the puzzles take literally forever to achieve and you begin to lose interest when you’re stuck on the same puzzle. A « skip puzzle » button would be interesting to help you move forward. I bought the House of Da Vinci 2 and, same thing: the « Skip puzzle » button would be a great addition to the game. If Blue Brains make a third installment of this series, I hope they will take this into consideration. But don’t get me wrong: if you buy this game, it’s far from a waste of money !!!

Poor mechanics and camera angles. Although it’s beautiful to look at, not as good as the Room series as it’s often super glitchy (e.g. you can make the right pattern and it won’t solve unless you try it several times) and often hard to get the view that you swipe for and there is a puzzle in chapter 7 that is not based on any skill, just random spinning. Not fun.

Worth the purchase but can get very frustrating. Having played similar games (in particular the Room series) I’d say this is overall one of the better ones. I don’t regret the purchase, and I liked it enough to buy the second one. Lots of game to play, very nice graphics, some very interesting and creative puzzles that were a nice mix of brain and brawn. However... I must echo what others have said: too many of the puzzles are not intuitive and the hints in those cases did not help much. I stumbled through a couple of puzzles by accident and am pretty sure I totally missed all clues that should have led me there. In other cases, I never would have solved them without online tutorials and walk throughs, and sometimes even after a walk through it was still not exactly clear how they got the answer. I like to know the how and the why, not just the actual answer. I also think hints should make you go “oh geez, how did I miss that!” not “seriously? How in the world was I ever supposed to figure that one out?”... and so for that I can’t quite give it 5 stars. Graphics, music and sound are really good but the navigation and excessive moving around in a few places is clunky and tedious and gets a bit annoying. It’s also very touchy in a few places... and things like levers being placed too close to the edge of the screen so every time you touch it the game closes made me almost quit a few times. :/ Hopefully that’s a little better in the next one. I have now gone back and played a second time a year or two later and found the same frustrations as the first time through... but still enjoyed it.

Leonard de Vinci. Génial

Captivant. Me fait penser à "The Room". Puzzles captivants mais réalisables. Je n'ai pas hâte à la fin !

Worthy Puzzler in "The Room" Genre. This game is clearly rooted in "The Room's" ethos and it's not disappointing. There are several excellent puzzles and an interesting storyline to follow. A plus are period-centric gears and levers that are in the DaVinci style. Some puzzles are solved using clues that are a little disconnected, which makes it a stretch as to why the solution is what it is, but overall, it's a pleasing package. The use of the two lenses makes a little more sense than "The Room's" use of the mystic eyewear. The music isn't distracting or overly dramatic (as was the case in "The Room" in some spots), and the pacing is good. Recommended! Looking forward to the sequel.

Épatée. Wow j’ai adoré. Très bien fait. Tellement intrigant que j’avais de la difficulté de prendre des pauses.

Infuriating Navigation. Trying to navigate through the game and interact with the environment is infuriating.

Art is great, game.. meh... I was looking for a good puzzle game to play after having finished the room series again, and came across this in the App Store. For 6.99, I was expecting the same quality. Art-wise, it’s definitely beautiful, but the mechanics in the game are frustrating. I like to challenge myself to not use the hint button at all while playing but absolutely could not do that here and it wasn’t for lack of trying. I encountered one bug where it took forever to get in the right angle to click on the decorative rotating puzzle on a tomb (which I didn’t even understand to be a tomb because nothing before that really made the place I went into seem like a mausoleum as much as a hidden passage) and after rotating it, nothing happened. I clicked the hints multiple times and it was unhelpful saying I should change numbers on a tower.. A tower that never popped up because the game glitched, and I only knew this because I had to search google… The game is scattered story-wise and there is no immersion because you forget what the story even is while trying for ages to complete finicky puzzles that sometimes work first try, sometimes work after 8 tries clicking on the same areas, or having to reload the whole game. Another UI gripe is trying to manipulate the objects in your inventory or some of the puzzles requiring you to rotate stuff. I spent 5 minutes in the opening puzzle with the doorbell trying to rotate the thing so that the thing would pop up, but every time I’d accidentally swipe outside of the millimetre they give you, I’d wind up moving the camera and undoing progress or even swiping out of the game completely. That kind of thing happened SO OFTEN. Camera angles are super clunky too, I would not be able to barely reach some puzzles because of their location. I see in some of the comments of the reviews that the developers write in a generic message to ask people to write into them directly, but for what use? You’ve seen the comments and 5 years later the issues raised still persist. Anyway, it’s not my cup of tea. I regret spending the money on such a broken game.

Meh. I really didn’t like this game as well as The Room series. It doesn’t seem as intuitive, meaning you really need the hints each time to progress. Touch screen isn’t as accurate either; I found it hard to make small manipulations to items and swiped out of the game accidentally over and over.

Not quite as good as the Room series. I want to like this game but , I’m stuck at a stage which I have re-played over and over again and over with the same result . I have searched for answers on line walk throughs and nothing no answers so I want to like the game but as I can only play half of it , I can only give it 3 stars . Just for info I’m stuck with the last part of the catapult in the workshop , no matter what I do the ball of fire won’t hit the target to let me through to the next part of the game, which is very frustrating and I’ve spent so much time on it . I also don’t find the puzzles particularly hard compared to the Room games . Usually when I buy a game I kinda expect it to be playable and few or no faults . If anyone reading this ie the game makers can help me I’d really appreciate being able to finish the game.

Well done. Fantastic game. Was looking for something after i finished everything from Rusty Lake and tried this. After a few puzzles i immediately bought the other volumes. Very well done.

There is a bug with the octaedre, minutes 30:32, the pieces are not connected ?. There is a bug with the octaedre, minutes 30:32, its fit but the pieces are not connected ?

Love this game❤️. I have now played both house of Da Vinci games and I loved them both. The storyline is amazing and the puzzles are challenging but not impossible. This game is definitely worth more that $8. I highly recommend this game

Pour quand le 4. 😃

Charged twice. Why was I charged twice? I was not aware I would be charged twice. I was under the impression it would be a one time fee.

Qualité. Qualité graphique très intéressante Énigmes 👍🏻

If you like The Room. I’m a big fan of The Room games. Loved them all. I was looking for something similar and couldn’t find one until I got this game. No bug. Every puzzle is possible, but don’t expect them to be easy. The story is interesting too. Good job.

EXCELLENT!!. I cannot recommend this game enough! Worth every penny! Well thought out and well executed. Draws you in and reminds you of old PC adventure games. 100% recommended!

Excellent. A great game. Good value and I hope another comes out.

No way to contact developers rip-off. I would have preferred to contact someone rather than leave this review. It does not work but still they took my money :-(

Good. Some parts I had to use a walk through because it was super difficult to figure out.

Très bien. Les images sont super belles, les énigmes sont généralement assez simples, les indices sont utiles et il est toujours apprécié qu’on ait pris la peine de faire une version française (presque sans fautes, en plus!).

No Sound. Game is awesome but there’s no sound at all, so 1 star until I get some sound, would be an easy 5 tho

Excellent escape game. Completely worth getting full version. Everything is fantastic about this game. The puzzles range from easy to challenging, the graphics are excellent, the gameplay is intriguing. Even the achievements have an interesting hook. I am completely enamoured with this game developer because they gave you value for the money spent.

比想象的好玩很多. 个人觉得剧情和沉浸感比其他类似的游戏好不少!但个别谜题设计得还是有点牵强,瑕不掩瑜

So frustrating. There is no skip button and you can’t re-set a puzzle. some hints are not helpful at all, so if you are stuck, and tired of restarting the whole chapter over and over again, the game just goes into the garbage. Too bad, it was fun, just not functional.

Don. Good game but it keeps bugging I van Never finish the game. I am alwails stuck ta the catapulte

Worth It. This game is about the limit of what I’ll pay for an app but after finishing, I feel like it was worth it. Occasionally I was frustrated with the room orientation moving when I was flipping/twisting a component on an object. Sometimes the next step is a bit unintuitive or a leap in logic but mostly it was the right balance of challenging but not frustrating. Great mix of puzzle types and long play time. I highly recommend.

Random restart - lost all progress. Great game until it randomly decided to restart itself. All progress lost. If you love restarting from scratch, this game is for you.

Worth purchasing. Game works beautifully in iPad, had to bring the brightness up to see things a little better. This game allows you to create profiles, which makes it so nice when multiple people want to play, but want to figure things out on their own. I made profiles for my 7 and 9 year olds so they would get off my game. Not a kids game, but my kids like the types of games. The feel reminded me of The Room. The hints were well written, especially at the lower levels, could have used more direction at the upper levels on the last hints. This has 8 chapters, nice long game.

Best puzzle game ever for iOS app. Reminiscent of Myst saga, this game not only had challenging puzzles that were real stumpers that had me taking advantage of the hint system more times than my ego is comfortable admitting, but was also an addictive, edge-of-my-seat adventure that literally had me return to it every morning and night and at break times on weekdays and hours on days off...well, you get the picture. Thumbs up to the creators from an OG gamer that is now not only hooked but itching for a sequel to pick up where this one abruptly ended, craving a fix for a new found addiction! No sarcasm! Seriously guys! Please release another! -Matt C. (Modesto, CA)

Great game!. Hello! I’m always wanting to challenge my mind in new ways, I watched the gameplay walkthrough a few nights ago and I was hooked. After playing the game myself I have to say I’ve never felt more challenged to push on through with each and every puzzle. The graphics and intuitiveness of each area and the hints made me excited to see the next puzzle and figure out the next clues. I really loved this game and I’m about to play number two. Thanks for bringing a great game to the table. I hope to be able to play the whole series. Keep up the good work and thanks again!

It’s okay, frustrating. I am a huge fan of the rooms and was excited to try this. A lot of frustrating moments. Some puzzles just don’t make sense really. Finding a lot of glitches, like the eye piece not working properly to see clues. I have a new iPad 8 and I didnt expect this many glitches. It’s really The Room with a different title which was great for me since I loved the series, but this one just fell short for me. The tap to move functions fall short too. You tap to move to a location, but it either moves me further or not at all. I’ve had to refresh the game too many times to get it to work. A little sad. I’m debating scrapping this one and trying the second, which may be better? I’d rather try another before I request a refund.

Good but not great. This is a basically a copy of The Room series. It has the same aesthetic and mechanics, but not done quite as well. I enjoyed playing, but often ran into situations such as this: I’d have run through the environment a dozen times, not finding any new clues, and was stuck. When I consulted the tips, I was directed to interact with an object that I’d tried to use several times already without success. But then knowing that it was *supposed* to be something I could use, further effort would prevail. So the problem was not in being unable to solve the puzzle, but rather not being able to tell when something should work and the interface was just being difficult. Overall I do recommend the game, but it could have been a little better play-tested.

Great adventure, worth the price!. This challenge isn't for the high-end gamers who look down on just about everything with disdain. It's for the average person that wants to have fun and feel like they got something for their money. You don't ask the hot-dog eating champion how he/she rates Nathan's wieners. Ask the people who eat them like they should that question and you get a much better critique. So, it's like The Room! Who cares? Those critics don't write these apps. It just makes them feel better about themselves to degrade someone else's stuff. Go and enjoy it and wait for the sequel. While you're waiting, go outside and get some physical exercise.

Not The Room. This thing has potential, but the touch interaction implementation is tedious and annoying to a degree that’s just unacceptable... Examples: - The “tap and slide up” action to get to the eyepiece is irritating. I know it’s because you’ll later have a “tap and slide down” for some other thingie, but it’s still annoying. I’d rather have two simple tap targets. - Some of the found object manipulations have to be done just right, to a degree that seems unnatural even for this type of game - The repeated motions required for the first “slide an object around slots in tiles” puzzle actually made my forearm sore. - I gave up on the “retrace the shape” puzzle after finding the aforementioned “tap and slide down” eyepiece. I literally was unable to trace the thing in a way that produced the solution, decided writing this review would be more enjoyable. I thought the story, artwork and even most of the puzzle designs were pretty good, and I might be tempted to try again, but even if I can overcome the poor interaction design, I’m now worried it’s indicative of a level of quality that will produce major bugs later on.

Totally worth it!!. At first I was skeptical about buying it because it was expensive. But it is the best game I’ve seen out there. I’ve played The Room and I think this is by far better. The quality is outstanding. There were almost no glitches in it! The display of the game made it very easy to get around and access your inventory or use clues. Also, you can leave the game wherever you want and it will save automatically. This means it’s a perfect game whether you want to binge and play the whole game in one go or take it slowly. Overall I think it is one of the best games of its kind. Definitely recommend you buying it.

Nice graphics — but buggy. I enjoyed the game, but my 2018 iPad Pro had some problems. I got bounced out a few times back to iPad Home screen and two times the tablet rebooted itself in the middle of play. No idea what caused this other than basic memory overload. The graphics are beautifully done, moving around and cut scenes pretty much flawless. The good news was even on the forced shut downs/reboots when I came back to the game I hadn’t lost any ground. So 4 stars, instead of 3, if the flow has been severely disrupted. Otherwise great job, a lot of fun and a page turner — addictive. Thanks Blue Brain team! Will play #2 when I decompress :)

Brilliant. An outstanding game with excellent puzzles, visuals and music. It's very much in the style of The Room, right down to some of the detailed mechanics. Perhaps the right point of view is to regard it as the first game by a different company in the genre invented and established by Fireproof Games. In any case, it's a first-rate game. My only criticisms are that occasionally the controls are fiddly on a smaller screen, and occasionally it is frustrating to try to get the viewpoint to the desired place. The hint system is just right, enough to help get past those points in the gameplay where one has missed a small lever or recess.

Fun to play. As a lover of all 4 of the room games I was hesitant to get this. But even though there are some similarities, it’s still a different story line and different ideas as well. It took me longer to play this than it would one of the rooms, definitely had to hit the clue button. It would be nice for them to make easier to tap on things during certain parts of the game as it made it more difficult and had to go back over things I should’ve already found. All in all, it still had me thinking and I enjoy a good puzzle. Worth the play and it takes more than a few hours to get through all the different rooms, I’d recommend it.

I wanted to like this game. I’m a huge fan of the The Room games. And this games definitely tries to capture the same feel. But it’s FAR too convoluted. I honestly don’t mind difficult puzzles. I’ve had to use hints or walkthroughs in the past. And that’s ok. But there was always an “ohhhh” moment. A moment where you realize what you missed. This game felt nearly impossible to complete without hints and walkthroughs, and even then, I never got the “ohhhh” feeling. Instead, I felt like it was unreasonable of the developers to think a player would have the patience to click on almost literally EVERY nook and cranny to find the planted clue. While trying to be clever, the game forgot to be enjoyable. I paid for and played all the The Room games. I paid money for this one too. But I don’t think I’ll be buying the next one.

Terribly frustrating game.. I love escape room games, both real and virtual. I adore The Room games, which this game shamelessly rips off. I hate this game. Many of the puzzles amount to trial and error, the controls never feel like you’re actually manipulating the on-screen objects, navigating the spaces often feels like the worst sort of pixel hunt, the hints are comically useless, and the story is pointless with no worthwhile resolution. I wanted to like this game, because I wanted another experience like The Room. It’s clear the creators of this game also enjoyed that one, having stolen all its core mechanics – but executing them poorly. Even the graphics are a distinct step down, despite this being newer than the first The Room games. I’m upset that I bought this and its sequel sight unseen, and am out $10. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Just go and replay The Room.

If you loved The Room games, you'll love this game, too!. Yes, this is very much like The Room- the feel, the eye pieces, the puzzles- but that said, like those, this is a great game for those who enjoy that type of puzzle / adventure game. The puzzles and mechanics made sense, and they managed to be challenging without being impossible. A little time, careful observation, and perseverance can typically take you through everything. In truth, I've only resorted to hints a couple of times when I'd overlooked some moving detail. I was initially skeptical about spending the money, but having played it this long already, I feel it was well worth the price tag! Enjoy!

THE HOUSE OF DAVINCI. Without doubt, the BEST game I've ever played on the iPad! The graphic artistry, sound effects and music background add an extra level of sophistication to a game that has a perfectly paced series of puzzles to solve. This game has brought a smile to my face countless times, as solutions to puzzles are discovered. (I've had to stop myself from shouting Eureka!, for fear my wife will think I've gone soft in the head.) After playing for quite a few hours now, I'm still not finished, and like a good book, a realIy good book, I don't want it to end. My sincere congratulations to the developers for creating this stunning achievement in gaming artistry! CJL - Charleston, SC

If you like the Room series, buy da Vinci. So yeah I'll start with the disclaimer I've never wrote a review before because I haven't. So hopefully I don't screw this up (lol). But I have bought all three of The Room games because I thoroughly enjoyed them and I've been waiting on Room 4. Since that hasn't been released yet, I decided to try this game out. I realize this isn't from the same developers but this game delivers! 3D Graphics and interaction all have the same feel. 8 chapters and takes hours to finish depending how much your at it. Solid game BlueBrain, get started on House of da Vinci 2, I will absolutely 100% buy it!

House of da Vinci. Well it was fun to start with but I hope everyone sees this message because I am not sure what to do now I just completed the game as I enjoyed it it didn’t last very long there was grate attention to detail and everything but it was short and left me on a cliffhanger I hope they mention to do that and are giving me more because for my $4:50 or whatever it was this was not a long game I program and understand the struggles that they probably wet through to make this game as fun and pleasing but I would like to have seen more and not been feeling like there wasn't and end I got thou it in only about 5 days and am left with nothing to do with ie except try to make my time faster by completing the same puzzles I already completed in conclusion the story was short and cut short but what I got to play was very fun and detailed

Clever Game (/slight spoilers). I've always loved the Room series, and when I saw this being Kickstarted I just knew I had to help out. Getting this game was a good choice for me; the puzzles were ingenious and I loved the mystery of the underlying story. There were very few bugs for me, just one with the astrolabe but when I closed out it worked again. My only real complaints about this game is how similar some of the puzzles and the mechanics are to the room. Obviously there's only so many things you can do with a puzzle game like this' but the oculi was a bit too close. Additionally, I think it ended too abruptly. I know there was a bit of a time constraint with making the game, but I don't really feel satisfied with the ending. Did we die? We're the Borgias the ones chasing us? What happened when we fell through? Did the other guy die? I understand they want to leave it open for future games, but there was a little too many questions without any answers. Overall great game and I'm really happy I was able to help it come to fruition. The way the supporters names were displayed was really clever, too. Thank you for a great game. -Asteria

“The Room” but without the polish. This game draws heavily from The Room, even the UI is exactly the same. Puzzles are similar, too, however the progression through the levels seemed rather clunky. Some puzzles give an item when you’ve never seen where it would go, leading to some stumbling around trying to find where something goes. It is possible to go through steps out of order, leading to some extremely confusing situations where you need a part but don’t have a clue where it is. There is just no flow to the game, and I felt like I was always looking around to figure out what I was supposed to be doing next since no puzzle led into the next one very well at all.

As good as the three room games!. I really really really liked this game. Tough, frustrating, but worth every penny I spent on it. Good graphics but a bit stiff in manipulation of elements: the placement of handle to open door from garden ( just keep moving it till it becomes "real" and works. In the final tower the movement of the levers for the third pipe were off and I had to keep turning the eye off and on to move the lever and get the pipes lined up. I'd put up with those any day for a puzzle/game of this quality. Keep up the the only real problem I have now is waiting for the next game. Hurry but keep up the level of the game. I'all wait.

Worthy imitator of The Room. To say House of Da Vinci has aspects very similar to The Room series is putting it mildly. and at first I thought “oh come on....”. It’s basically like morphing The Room into a fantasy Renaissance inventors’ world rather than a fantasy Victorian inventors’ world. But it’s clearly a labor of love and I gotta say, it works for me. I did hesitate when ranking though because I thought “How can I give the excellent imitator as many stars as the brilliant original ?” But I decided that by comparison to all the games out there, The House of Da Vinci absolutely deserves its 5 stars....( it’s just that The Room deserves something even beyond the point scale.)

Very similar to The Room. Having completed The Room games, I was looking for something else to challenge me. Overall, the House of Divinci did not disappoint. Some very fun and thoughtful puzzles! A couple of quibbles though: occasionally some of the challenges seem to be mostly graphics and very little puzzle, others were multi-level puzzles for very little reward. At one time I did the same puzzle four different times with ever increasing difficulty to only receive a wrench at the end. For this type of game to be successful the reward needs to match the difficulty. Last, as cool as the oculi is, it's seem to be a bit wonky in getting it activated.

Visually appealing but lacking. This is a very creative game built on what I’m assuming to be the same platform as The Room, but it isn’t as intuitive. Objects needed to complete each level are hidden in areas that aren’t logical to the next steps. I found I had to use the hints too much because you had no idea what or where or why things fit together. I barely used hints in The Room because it was much more thought out. You could explore and see where things moved even if you couldn’t open them. This game you have no idea where secret compartments are without having to use a hint because it wasn’t visible or able to be explored before unlocking its key. The looking glass wouldn’t always illuminate clues either. Very confusing and convoluted

Great game! If you like The Room, you will like this game!. When I first started playing, I thought it was by the same developer that created “The Room” series. The puzzles are very similar in style and equally as challenging; graphics are just as good; and the story line is of the same quality but unique. As the game progresses, the puzzles do get a little more challenging - some, almost a guessing game, so you may find yourself using hints more than expected. I’m glad I found this only a few weeks after the release of “The House of Da Vinci II” - I plan to download the sequel as soon as I finish this review.

Well-made. Expected a cheap knockoff of The Room games, instead got a very well-designed and well-made knockoff of The Room games. Nice! Some of the tap targets are too small on iPhone, including the main menu, and occasionally one is nearly microscopic in-game - if you can play it on the iPad I suspect that's the superior experience. None of the puzzles are fiendishly difficult; like The Room games it's more of a knobs-and-keys playground than a super deep puzzle game. But still a joy and very polished experience. Recommended. [UPDATE after completing the game: it's both longer than I expected, and got more challenging (in a good way) as it went on. Upgrading it to "highly recommended". I didn't quite "get" the very ending but no big deal.]

Artistic puzzle. First, I enjoyed it. These games are always worth the $. Earlier today I read a review that a game was worth $2 but not $4 and it bothered me. I like to remember that these people are artists and these games are art. From that perspective - and for a lot of other reasons - even when I pay for a game, I feel like I'm getting a gift. Ok, I'm off my soapbox now. Lol. It took me about 5.5 hours over a period of several months as prefer more words in these games. I can't really say this was an inspiring game or that I'll think about again but it was solid entertainment. It was challenging and clearly a lot of thought was put into it; it wasn't easy and it was beautiful. These qualities get a solid A and I hope the designers make more fun.

Decent game let down by dark graphics. This isn’t a bad game and the puzzles are reasonably well constructed. It should be fun to play. Unfortunately the whole game is let down by the excessively dark graphics. It was clearly never tested on iPads in brighter lighting conditions. Even normal indoor lighting requires the current 10.2” iPad to be turned up to maximum brightness to be able to see anything. Looking at the lite version of their second game it is just as bad, and presumably their upcoming third game will still suffer the same problem. But I won’t be buying more of them if they can’t be bothered to add brightness control to the options. Also the developers don’t respond to messages sent via their website, so my impression is they just don’t care.

10 stars. I’d givez it ten stars if allowed to the art and details were breathtakingly stunning and I spent every second going through the game on the edge of my ‘seat’ (since I played while relaxing on my bed) since there was so many puzzles to solve and surprises around every corner even though I alreadyz beat the game I throughly enjoyed playing it so much I might play it again in the future just to see if I can beat my completion time 😜😄 I would recommend this game to anyone that lovez puzzles and a good challenge this game has both and then some ^^ *face paw* I’ve seen so many mentions of ‘the room’ game it makes me want to scream are people seriously that dumb that they can’t see this is an original game and is 110% different from those games?! granted I played those games too but The Da Vinci House is actually better then them in my opinion I hope people stop insulting this absolutely amazing game by comparing it to a completely different game

Loved it!. I only recently found out that these games existed, (The Room Series, and The House Of Davinci). I played through the room series first buying all of them and moved to this one after. I am one who loves to test my mind and I have to admit I was still stumped with a few things even after using all the cleverly made hints. I wouldn’t make anything any easier, if anything I would even make it a little more challenging. The only thing I wish is that there was a second one. I knew I was nearing the end and even though I was excited to finish, I wasn’t excited for the end.

Keep your head in the game. Don't be afraid to examine things several times. Some of them don't seem to work the first time. Clues are helpful but sometimes frustrating. That's part of the fun. I reached a point where the tools I found just didn't work even though they were employed correctly. Had to delete and reload the game. Hope things go better this time. Finished the game. Graphics are excellent. The hints continued to be essential. Also had to use u tube for help. This game will test the mental skills and patience of almost everyone. I enjoy the challenges and can recommend this if you have a tolerance for setbacks.

Outstanding Ingenuity. If someone were to tell me ten years ago that games like this would exist in 2020, I would probably have not believed them. I always have felt relatively disconnected from the ingenuity of historical characters such as DiVinci. This game, or experience rather, has quite successfully reconnected me to the vast intrigue of the great genius of the past millennium and caused me to realize the sheer complexities and amazement of the human mind. God truly has blessed humanity with awe-inspiring intellect, and this same truly proves it without sparing any provision of blessing and excitement. It truly sets the bar high enough in mobile gaming to make a bold statement to the industry. I suggest that everyone follows suit!

A beautiful use of history and puzzles.. This beautiful game helps tell the tale of some of the most inventive designs of its time. The multiple puzzles in each chapter are simple enough for a young child to figure out with time. And yet challenging to keep even an educated adult at bay for a bit. Do not hesitate to purchase this game if you need a break from the day. Or if you have a long flight that you can binge play on. Although it's designed to be used on the iPhone as well, would highly recommend use of an IPad for easier manipulation of the graphics and to see the beautiful applications of 3D graphics.

Excellent. After being highly disappointed in Fireproof Games latest Room game, I went in search of someone new. Through a Google search I discovered this game. I thoroughly enjoyed it, would rate it right up there with the best of Fireproof, and will be looking at other offerings from this game company. Might I add several things; there are many car companies, many of which you would be hard pressed to pick their cars out of a lineup, tons of jigsaw puzzle makers, lots of ketchup bottlers (you get the picture). Not only is imitation the sincerest form of flattery, but competition makes everyone try a little harder. I’ll be looking forward to the results of that competition.

SOS I’m having an overdose. Geez, another game that is so addictive! I have all the ROOMS games and just started this new series and can’t think about anything else! It almost makes me forget to eat!!! It is terrible but so good. You forget all the life problems for a while. This so much better that the shoot’mUp games I use to play! I can’t find the words to thank the developers for making such intelligent games. Keep developing those kind of games, you will have a very long and prospère future! Sorry for my poor English by the way.

Amazing Game. I’m absolutely loving this game so far. The attention to detail is truly amazing and it shows in every intricate puzzle. I’m very glad that the game has a hint button that will point you in the right direction if you get stuck. Unlike other games, the hint button in this game doesn’t cost a thing to use. You can get as many hints as you need. The only real complaint I have is that the hints can be pretty vague at times, so I have to end up using more hints than I would like. The ability to unlock inventions as achievements is a nice touch. If you’re like me and really enjoyed the game The Room: Old Sins, then this game will not disappoint.

Wow!. I just started playing this game, but I was immediately inspired to write a review. It is absolutely beautiful, and I love it already. The other reviews are correct that it does have a strong "The Room" vibe, but that's fine with me! I wish there were a hundred more games in the App Store like this. I would buy all of them. In my opinion, saying it's similar to "The Room" isn't exactly an insult. It's a huge compliment. But I can already tell that this game will be able to stand on its own. I hope you guys are already working on a sequel. Update: I just finished the game, and it was even better than I thought it would be. I think I'm gonna play it again right now!

Beautiful game, but convoluted gameplay. I’m not the most astute puzzler, but this thing took me hours with extensive reliance on hints. It’s not that the puzzles were so hard, but the descriptions of things and places were obscure. And there wasn’t much flow, so you run around like a silly person looking for something to interact with. Very frustrating and I have to agree with the reviewer who said the Room series is the industry standard for game design in this genre. Similar puzzle difficulty, but at least you can find the puzzles. Still, I’ll probably get round two and drive myself the rest of the way over the cliff. The art and music are worth it, not to mention the ersatz history lesson. Good effort, fun idea, but execution could use some work.

Another Great (And Rare!) Addition to the Genre. No complaints so far! Very impressive, especially in its visual appeal and moody soundtrack. Even better, it has a great mechanical feel to it, like you're actually handling and manipulating the objects yourself. Puzzles aren't obvious, yet not too hard...yet. Can't wait to see where the story is going to go! Definitely like the Room, but less creepy and convoluted. Updated 8/1/17 Definitely some glitches with the Oculus; it doesn't always work. Seems to work if you just keep opening it over and over, or right after you use the hint button in your utter confusion and despair.

Cheap Copy of The Room. I bought this game because I enjoyed The Rooms so much, but man am I disappointed. The puzzles in this game are okay, but there isn’t a lot of continuity. The controls leave much to be desired. I find myself trying to navigate somewhere and I will go the opposite direction. This will happen multiple times until it finally gets it right. Additionally, the hints do not update as you progress so you may have solved the whole first part of the puzzle, but they will still be giving you hints for what you just did. Additionally, there will be parts of the puzzle that are unresponsive until you reach a certain step, it’s like you have to do things in the order the developers created, unlike The Room where there was some leeway. This causes it to be pretty frustrating making you rely on hints since the puzzles weren’t very logical. If you have already played The Room, don’t buy this, you’ll be disappointed.

Next best thing after The Room. The Room series are some of the best games on iOS. Everyone knows that. This is a nice approximation. There are some good puzzles, though not as intuitive as the Room. Sometimes, you just don’t know what to touch or move next. The hint system is very robust and can guide you most of the way. Removing a star for the imprecise controls. Far, far too often, I will be trying to move a mechanism or lever and the camera will move instead. Likewise, dials and cogs and anything else that rotates does not lock into place. You have to carefully align everything for the game to recognize the placement of pieces. Worth the price for me, but I’m a puzzle enthusiast. Took me less than five hours at a reasonable pace. But, there are lots of opportunities to get stuck. Also, secrets, though I don’t know there point beyond opening a new contraption in the tutorial section for you to play with (aka the “tutorial” section only fully opens after you’ve mastered the game 100%; makes no sense).

House of DaVinci. As with other games of this group this is an excellent game. Full of surprises and I enjoy that if you do get stuck there are clues, but only if you want them. Good work people. Thanks. This is not a sit down in one swoop start and finish game. As I was reading some of the reviews I see that many people were having issues with the occuli. I also had an issue but just kept loading it and reloading it till it worked. Worked every time. Didn't have to restart at all. Most of the time it only took once. One time it took seven hits. It's still a great game. I have an I phone 5

Immersive Room & Mechanical Puzzler. If you love The Room, you'll definitely enjoy The House of da Vinci! + Outstanding art + Challenging mix of puzzles + Nice score & great sound effects + Familiar controls for fans of The Room This is a very polished, immersive puzzle game! We need more puzzle games of this quality. Buying The House of da Vinci & reviewing it lets the development community know we want more like this. Even with a 5-Star Rating, I can recommend two improvements... 1. It's difficult to manipulate some objects. Maybe this is because I played on a smaller screen (iPhone 6), but sometimes the game thought I was moving my focus when I was really trying to manipulate an object. For example, in the first scene it took me a long time to light the lantern because the game mis-interpreted my gestures. 2. It would be nice to replay the cut scenes. I was distracted when I completed the game and wanted to rewatch it to understand the conclusion. It looks like I'll have to replay the toughest chapter.

Great game!!. Wonderful puzzles, great atmosphere. Puzzles are challenging but all are doable. The game is fairly long, my playing time was over 9 hours. If you constantly use the hint I’m sure it’s shorter, which I see some have complained that it’s too short. It’s not. My problem is with the game mechanics. Having to constantly double tap to look at something is very annoying. Also, sometimes you try to move something and it won’t budge, but then the hint tells you to do exactly what you were doing, and it’s just finicky. The ending is abrupt and thoroughly unsatisfying. Well worth playing if you love puzzles. I deducted a star for the game mechanics and ending.

Certain puzzles prompt rage-quit.. It's a wonderful game. I've seen many reviews comparing it to "The Room" series, not in a negative light, but as a compliment. Some puzzles, especially toward the end, seem to rely on chances of luck rather than puzzle-solving skills. I enjoyed almost all of them, especially those that require small details (does that decorative ornament look faded on one side? I wonder if it moves?). Some puzzles in the last chapter, I simply had to put down and take a few days away for. The "help" icon wouldn't actually give hints on some puzzles, it just suggested areas, like "I bet if you move the lever through the grooves, you can make the pipe segments spin." Well, of course. I've been doing that for a half-hour. None of it makes sense. I accidentally got it right after fiddling with it for days. Last suggestion, please, please, please consider adding a "brightness" slider, or some way to brighten up the screen. Some areas, I could literally only play at night because the screen was so dark, I couldn't actually see anything on screen. Otherwise, it's a solid game, worth your money, and I look forward to the next installment.

I ACTUALLY paid for this. I NEVER pay for apps on my phone. I only download free games as something to pass the time and, as such, refuse to download anything I’d have to pay for. Also I have a very short attention span so I get tired of stuff pretty quick. After playing the lite version of this game, which is the first level in full, I was hooked. Over the course of the next few days I played it whenever I had a few extra minutes and loved every second of it. The ONLY complaint I could possibly give for this game is that I finished it. I sincerely hope that there is a continuation in the works and can’t wait to play it.

A spirited immersive puzzle for fans of The Room series.. This game popped up unannounced in the Games section of the App Store, and I’m happy I gave it a shot. Very much in the vein of The Room, this experience offers a series of thoughtful puzzles as the player advances from one space to the next. Like The Room, this 3D puzzle game is antique in aesthetic and incredibly well-built as far as the production and interactivity are both concerned. I would overlook the fact that this feels a bit derivative of The Room series I keep mentioning, because this is very much it’s own story, and one really worth spending your time (and money) on. Highly recommended.

The Room ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. "Ermahgawd its The Room!" Yes, and The Room is Myst, and Castlevania is Metroid, and every point and click adventure is a rip off of Kings Quest which is DnD with moving pictures. To be sure, this is almost exactly like The Room in just about every aspect, but it does have its own charm, and if you like The Room, you'll like this. Immitation is the highest form of flattery, and this is significantly better than a lot of the escape room type of games that have generic graphics, and static environments. A lot of care really went into this, and its worth the price and play through. The only real complaint I had was that some of the puzzles were a bit too cumbersome. While I understand that this is no childs game, some of the puzzles were a bit of a leap in logic.

Not terrible, for a Room ripoff. So, yes. It's "inspired by" (copied from) the Room. The controls aren't as good- holy hells, there are a few spots where you can't get ahead and will close the game in frustration. And there's one spot where a handle literally vanished from my inventory altogether and I had to restart the chapter to try again. Yes, I emailed them, and no, I never got a reply. It's not a bad game. There's no ending to speak of and (similar to the first Room game) not much plot; you're literally following an inventor around and he leaves letters and a lens, just like in the Room. There's a hint system, though it falls down in a few places, it's still pretty good. The game is long enough to take some time, and although the visuals can be very dim in places, it doesn't interfere with gameplay. So 4 stars. Leaving one off for the glitches and lack of originality, but a solid 4 for execution on the game. Would love to see them do something more original, and if you consider it "homage" it's not a terrible one. I didn't feel like I'd wasted my money.

Pretty well done adventure. There are a lot of similarities to The Room games, by all means do those first and if you want more try this one. The room games are a bit smoother, and clicking and maneuvering things is a tad more “realistic” so 4 instead of 5 stars do to too many similarities to The Room and a few situations where I feel like I tried moving something and it didn’t move so I gave up on that idea, only to get a hint and realize I didn’t quite move the object correctly. Over all a pretty game and if you like The Room and want more then get this too. Overall the puzzles are a bit harder than the Room games and the story a bit more complicated.

I had higher expectations. First off, all the scenes are very poorly lit making it VERY hard to see many of the very small hidden buttons and latches. Second, there are several moments when you just cannot play through until you wait for all the hints to talk you onto the next step which is generally going back to reinspect a thing you’ve looked over a dozen times but couldn’t interact with until the hint talks you on to it. Most of the puzzles were pretty good but on more than a couple of them you just end up randomly spinning and flipping things until you stumble onto the right combo or position. Lastly, almost every thing you have to interact with is VERY particular about how or where you touch it and at what angle you’re viewing it from - it’s very frustrating. All in all I was really ready for this game to be over by about the halfway mark.
