Guitarist & developer here...this thing is amazing. To the app devs...holy cow, I love this software. I tried all the freebies, some of the cheaper ones, and really wanted an OP-1...but with BeatMaker...I don’t need anything else (looking at you GarageBand)...love this app. If you’re reading this, and on the fence about the cost, think of it this way, it cost basically the amount to see a movie in the theatre...buy this instead, and spend a couple hours playing with it. You will more entertained, and on your way to making your very own music.

Missing sidechain input… also bug on plugins. Beatmaker 3 has a really good UI. It’s pretty much adored by all MPC style beatmakers and many other mobile music production enthusiasts. The sampler is amazing. The workflow is good. Beatmaker 3 is missing one important thing that I can think of at the moment. Support for sidechain for auv3 plugins such as Fabfilter Pro C2. This option is available in Cubasis 3 with the latest update. Currently, you can only sidechain Beatmaker 3 with its native compressor. It would be nice if they add this ability. Also, I just noticed what seems to be a bug. When I add a Fabfilter compressor on an audio track, it doesn’t function correctly. It seems to “get stuck” in a highly compressed state. Seems to work fine on midi tracks and in the master out. I want to to give Beatmaker 5 stars but it seems to have a couple of bugs.

It’s good but it can be better. When I first started using this app everything was good but then started messing up, the loading screen sometimes takes a long time, it would crash sometimes, it would change the pitch of my song projects by itself and it’s annoying because I have to keep changing it to its normal pitch. There’s too many bugs that need to get fixed but it’s still good thoe, very simple to use

Good daw, but a couple of issues.. Issue #1: The plugin list is sorted by company name, then alphabetically. There is no other way to sort plugins. You cannot search the plugin list. This is an issue, because I’m used to having plugins listed, alphabetically. On the fly, I can’t think of the plugin’s company name, so it takes me extra time to find plugins in the list. Issue #2: BeatMaker crashes whenever you drag/drop multiple samples on the beat pads. I’d like to be able to drag a folder full of samples on to the drum pads and file up the drum pads with all those samples. Doing so will crash beat maker. Feature request: I’d really like it if there was a “right-click” option to assign a knob value to all knobs on the drum pads. For example, if I change the ADSR release knob on one drum pad to 100ms, I’d like to be able to go to the long-tap menu and click “Assign value to all pads. Beat maker is a unique DAW, which to me kind of resembles Ableton, which is familiar to me. I’ve used several other iOS DAWs, like Cubasis, NanoStudio, and Audio Evolution. Based on the current price ($28), I would say that the price is fair, based on the features it has.

Slowly going down hill. I hate to write this review because this was once my go to app. I’m just going to say it…ever since the original developer left, BM3 has been steadily going downhill. As of this review…there hasn’t been an update in over two years. Look, I’m not asking for new features, just that it be maintained if it’s still going to be sold on the IPad. Now a lot of plugins don’t load or crash, which I won’t put all the blame on whoever’s developing BM3 now, or should I say whoever isn’t developing it now, but the same plugins work fine in other Daws so it’s kinda hard not to lay the blame on Intua.I have so many tracks that I made that I can’t really listen to because of auv3’s just not loading or crashing that at this point I’m ready to stop using it altogether and I’m fine with that, sometimes it’s just time to move on. This was a really great app at one time, but the fact that it’s not being maintained makes it feel like abandonware and with it original developer jumping ship I get it. I guess his shoes were just to big to fill.

cool app. this is not on the level of an akai s3000 😂 but it’s good at handling samples, maybe don’t expect hardware sampler results but it handles samples smoothly and each sample can be played on a keyboard, it has a sophisticated sound over all, samples don’t sound like trash when you load them they sound clean, if you love working with your own samples this should be the first app you get it seems to be the best one, and it works with AUM so that’s great

Wish it could be 5 stars. This is far and away one of my favorite interfaces/feature sets of any DAW I’ve played with on iOS. But it has two major bugs that if unaddressed will leave me looking for something else to get my work done in, because it continually stops me dead in my tracks. First, it crashes nearly every time I select an AUv3 plugin after the app has been idle for a bit. After I re-launch the app and do it all over again, I’m okay from there, but I risk losing work and it’s honestly just a major annoyance. The other, larger problem, is that my Bluetooth midi keyboard disconnects every time I stop playback on my track. So let’s say I’m past the point in my track where I want to add some synths, or other flourishes, and I stop playback to rewind it back. As soon as I press the stop button, my keyboard disconnects and is forgotten by the app, and I have to dive back in to the settings and reconnect it all over again, even though the keyboard itself is still on and ready to be paired. I don’t have this problem in any other music making apps for iOS, so that says to me it’s a problem with BeatMaker. I’m running BM3 on the latest and greatest iPad Pro, so there’s really no excuse for this from a hardware/performance perspective. Get it together, Intua. I want to love your app more than I do.

Great Product. So Powerful!. I’ve been using this app for about three weeks now. I’ve been in the industry for 10 plus years but I’m just getting back into production and composing. The only issue I’ve ran into so far is an almost unbearable amount of clipping coming through when I play audio via the app. It doesn’t happen all the time, and it doesn’t follow through to the export. My exported audio is really clean. But I do have a first gen iPad Air. So I’m thinking it maybe just be a lack of processing power on my iPad. Either way, it does make mixing a pain, but composing is a breeze with this thing

I love this app BUT...and it’s a big “BUT”. When I first started using it I didn't have any problem, but now when I tap the pads or the sequencer timeline button on the left side, it's like the button gets stuck which prevents me from even switching to that view. So, now I have to close out of the app and open it back up just to be able to fix that. It doesn't just happen with that, it also happens when using the selection tool, the touch tool, and the cut tool on the actual timeline when editing or arranging notes. sometimes it will highlight both the touch tool and the selection tool and when you try to deselect it, and tap+drag on the timeline it adds another note. Please fix ASAP it's getting extremely annoying. I hope this makes sense. Thank you for all your hard work with this app. After fixes, it would be nice to have different color themes for the entire interface :D EDIT : Please allow us to sort our project files by last opened, change date or created date, not just alphabetically.

If you’re a DAW person, skip this.... ...this app is strictly for beatmakers. I keep going back to this app trying to create tracks. I learn more each time I try and it works fine within itself, but when you start connecting external keyboards and OS synths plug-ins the inconsistencies in operation will kill whatever idea you had, dead in its tracks!!!!! Non-intuitive and unnecessarily complex. To all you users who can get this app to cooperate, good on ya. But if you’re a traditional musician and play an instrument or six, get you a USB audio interface and fire up your DAW and skip this style of music making. Reminds me Macromedia Flash vs Adobe After Effects. Two apps that basically do the same general thing—timed animation, but the difference in user interface and implementation renders one or the other useless for different types of creatives. I’m sticking to Logic Pro X for now.

What up with the sample Chop. I get the BM3 app becuz of all the hype however I am a dedicated Akai fan I use their iMPC app the funny thing is I had the BM3 app way before I bought the iMPC 2 app for my iPad the only issue I have with BM3 is when it comes to chopping up a sample it is a bit much I have to copy and paste the entire sample over to another pad and then make my chops and repeat this a process until I get the samples I want to use instead of just chopping my samples or using the slice tool to make my chops I should be able to apply those slices or chopped samples from within that one process and there should be a way to make your chops or slices then have a option to apply those certain slices and/or chops to another pad without repeating that process over again just to get those certain chops also when you go to save your sessions its less unwanted samples being saved to the storage supply so if that can happen that would be fantastic BM3

love it.. Been making beats on it and I love it. Feel like switching from fl studio and moving to making beats on my iPad. I only wish that I can create midi notes on free will instead of having to record my self, post editing notes. Also if you could allow maybe ghost notes for the other patterns that way I could tell what key I’m in it would really be a great help. Love what you did with this app. Will continue to support it. Great job.

Almost there. This app is on the top 3 for sure... there’s a couple little glitches that still need work though.. my main pet peeve is that it works fine in the background until the screen locks, then it freezes up and I have to turn on the screen when jamming, or have to change settings back n forth every time I want to use... other than that, this app is great for performing. Not a big fan so much of the arrangement user interface, a little complicated compared to others..

It’s Keeps Freezing lately???!. I’ve been using this app since December. And it’s my favorite music making app for iPad Pro. It’s usually very reliable helping me compose and produce a lot of great music. However, fast forward to this month. It’s been freezing and crashing a lot. When I close out the program and open it again there is this beat maker 3 loading screen with the loading wheel that doesn’t go away. It takes 2-5 minutes for the app to work again but this keeps happening. When I playback music the app freezes. Then I have to close it out again then it’s back to square one. This is really taking away from my creative process and ultimately my work flow. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the recent update of IPadOS 14.6 but what ever it is please Beat Maker 3 team. Fix this ASAP! I am a loyal customer!

Just needs some finishing touches. I have always used logic for my music projects but trying out BeatMaker 3 for the first time I was hooked and I love being able to make beats on the fly and having basically a fully working daw with me everywhere I go only thing I think is missing is an option to rearrange your pads without having to copy and paste and all that stuff u should add a swap pad option or a grab rearrange mode or something

Love this app but when will we see an update?. I absolutely love this app as a producer coming from the MPC era. It has a lot of useful features as far as production goes. I am wondering when we will see an update for this app? It has been well over a year and many IOS updates but no update to this app. When will we see more features that will help propel this app forward and make it a lot more complete as far as Recording and Editing goes. I always find myself doing Production in BeatMaker 3 and Recording and Editing in Cubasis 3. I would like to be able to do everything in one app without feeling the need to bounce to another DAW to feel like I’m getting the complete experience. Can we expect anymore updates or has this DAW been abandoned as far as updates are concerned?

Far from perfect. It’s been almost a full year since an update, that’s unacceptable. The app is certainly a good one but it’s still buggy as hell. Trying to use a midi keyboard and have it consistently play what’s in focus (selected) is as al ost an impossible joke. Very hit or miss at best. App still crashes way to frequently for one of this price and of its age. The last update was 10 mo this ago and although your website speaks of a forthcoming 3.0.4 update that message is old enough now that version 3.0.5 or 3.0.6 should be here or now coming. Do better Intua, thumbs down!

Too much too soon. I just bought this app. I was a big fan and daily user of NanoStudio which I can now say, “back in the day”. Sadly, NanoStudio was rubbed out by apples merciless grindstone of progress and the app makers dropped the ball and NS2 which was to fallow never was released. So my quest began to find a replacement. I’m not fully confident in saying much about this choice other than there is a lot here and the workflow is going to take a bit to get my head around. I also don’t see a stand alone synth, which would be nice. I see that I can sample whatever synth I want and then alter that using t(e many included filters and FX. Oh yeah, the other reason and probably even more important to me was to find an app from which I can trigger Drums samples using velocity over note triggering. I just made that term up, seems to make sense. Example, I would like to trigger a snare on note D1. D1 would also contain velocity information, which it does, 16 levels I think, of velocity. I would then have the choice to place a different sampled articulation of that same snare on any of those levels and the velocity with which I hit my snare would trigger the corresponding articulated sample. I heard this app has this going on as well. I’ll get back and review it once I have a clue. So far, looks impressive, sounds great!

Really buggy needs updates. Overall I enjoy this program but is still buggy with midi fx. Using apps like scaler 2 in the midi fix tap don’t record the midi to timeline and freezes your session. You can’t record instruments like geo shred due to it being a touch instrument. Also certain midi files can’t be dragged in without freezing your session. I’ve seen dozens of similar complaints online about these same issues for over a year now and still no updates. What was the point of adding this to your program if you weren’t gonna make it work

Just Keeps Getting Better!. This “little” app started out good, but over time... It just flat began to ROCK! It now possess a deep feature set that even includes MIDI audio unit support (Cubasis is not even there yet) and has an intuitive interface! My only dislike at this point is that some visual elements (such as the transport bar) are a tad small and hard to read... If that is my only real issue though, that alone says something big. I regularly produce some of my favorite work with BeatMaker 3 and would whole heartedly recommend it to any iOS producer! Just buy it already and get to making tunes!

The Best Music App for my Workflow (but still not enough). I have tried all of the major DAWs for the iOS platforms and I can honestly say that beat maker 3 has one of the most comprehensive and versatile experiences on the AppStore. It is the best I’ve found for my workflow-I am able to quickly access and load up samples and manipulate them on the fly with my Midi controller. I’ve been making a lot of stuff with it recently, but it’s also been crashing on me a lot. I try to remember to save a lot but this definitely hinders the experience and I have lost a couple beats now that I was really liking. But nonetheless I still recommend this app, it’s almost there – but still a lot of performance stuff that can be worked on

*Apple Magic Keyboard Update*. I have been producing on this app for almost 2 months and and am beyond impressed by the capabilities of the program! I’ve just recently purchased a iPad magic keyboard and one thing I did notice is that when I open BeatMaker I am able to drag sounds and use the Trackpad to navigate faster through the application... BUT it does not give you the ability to play keys with the keyboard like it does for producing DAWs I’ve downloaded on computers I’ve used to produce on in the past. This kind of update would put you in competition with... if not leaps and bounds above other programs I have used in the past. (ie FL Studio, Reason, and Logic Pro X) still I am satisfied with the program this is only a suggestion to help me and wow other into making BeatMaker 3 their GO TO DAW!

Just Wow. I bought the iPad as a means to provide sample fodder for my Octatrack. I bought this app because of videos by Henny Tha Bizness, who’s done an impressive job showcasing this great program. I now find myself constantly on BM3 on the go, than at home on my hardware. Great program all around. Not sure if it’s because I’m on an iPad Air 2, but would love to see better RAM optimization as I’m forced to usually resemble AUV3 tracks or after a good 4 tracks of certain AUV3 plugins and my RAM is maxing out. I’m always having to up the samples to 1024 samples on some tracks. Hoping this can be addressed and that it isn’t solely hardware issue, either than that, fantastic work on this software. So clean, well designed, and fun all around for creativity, btw love the added scale and chord modes, blows Chordion and other paid apps out the water. -nkdvkng

Piano roll. Do you think by chance we can get an update for piano roll users? I’d like to draw my nose in but it’s hard trying to use the piano because it keeps deleting my notes or is hard to actually controlling without losing the note. Also would like to actually hear them know I’m clicking in other than depending on the side piano to hear it

For some reason the app won’t open. I’ve never really had any major problems using this app besides a couple crashes here and there, but for some reason lately I can’t even get the app to open properly! I’ve found a workaround to where if I open another app that I use for music like Cubasis the app will open…but when it does it’s all buggy. Please help because this is my go to app for beats on my iPad

It’s Pretty Good.. I just bought Beatmaker 3 about 4 days ago. It has it's Pro's and Con's. I have about 6 DAW'S, the Save and Load feature it's the worst that I ever experience, it's scattered in 3 different places, it took me a while to figure out how to load a save song within BM3. The save feature is on top right, to find the song to load it up it's on the left side and a little ways down from the top, then you tap the song and nothing happens will guess what the load button is close to the bottom of the screen. the person who design that feature must of been high on something. The Save and Load feature should be all in one shot, usually on the top left side. I hope this problem will be taking care of in the near future.

One crucial problem w the browser. First off pretty much all the functions work immaculately. The app is super easy to get into coming from DAWS and hardware drum machines in the past. What’s got me stuck is a issue with imported audio files displaying "0 bytes" under all my imported files. They all looked and worked fine the first time I imported them but have been broken now for months. Looked online for forum help and it seems people have been also having this issue since circa September 2017. Tried both database rescans and they still show 0 bytes and will not load into pads nor audio tracks. Pls help bc I’d be using BM3 so much more if my breaks were loaded and working properly lol.

Audio cracks and skips. It keeps happening to me more and more. The audio will start crackling when the song is being played and stutter/skip. Eventually it gets so overpowering that I have to restart the program. Sometimes it helps other times I have to restart it multiple times in a row to hear clear audio. Very frustrating. Edit: Dropping from two stars to one. I’m not sure if it’s the newest update or what but I’m trying to export my tracks out of this headache of a DAW and the values set for auv3 instruments has now changed so half of my sounds are completely different😩. I don’t understand how this is worse than BM2 never had a single issue ever with that application and this one makes me wish I didn’t waste $25 and lose hours upon hours of time and work. Garbage.

Great App. I love this app and that it’s for the iPad. I’ve been using it for maybe 2-3 years now and it feels so new, yet so old school at the same time. A few things I would add would be the ability to randomize note velocity, as well as strum the notes with a short cut or option button. Ghost notes, midi flip, and transposing short cuts/options would be great as well. Still a five star app regardless.

WOW!!!. Was thinking about buying the MPC Live but when I heard about this app I immediately changed my mind! The sampler is so powerful and real easy to use! Now the only thing that I would wish they would do is have the ability to go up or down on the notes in the piano roll and change octaves and also have another transport somewhere so when you going thru samples you can still play and stop your song. Other then that, this app is powerful for music production and I would highly recommend this app for any musician that doe’s production!

Still issues + new ones after update and years of app neglect. It’s still my go to DAW. Best I ever used that allowed me to make my best work on. It’s just frustrating that wrinkles can’t be ironed out. Still unable to organize tracks, moving track up or down is erratic. Cpu meter is going into 500% suddenly, (new issue) Trimming an audio file sometimes leaves an unrecognizable waveform that won’t delete until app restart. Plus timestretched file are off sync after an export to wav.

Very powerful, but gets in its own way. Absolutely love BM3. It provided a seemless transition for me coming from Reason. However it is lacking in some areas. Not being able to copy Midi from track to track is inconvenient, Also the quantize is tricky, "Swing" should be able to be applied per track. But the BIGGEST issue is stability. The app crashes a lot! Especially when using AUV3 plugs. Sometimes the "Undo" button doesn't work as well. Fix the bugs and it's easily a 5 Star app.

5 stars but .... 🤧😕😓. Hello beatmaker 3 needs a major update I’m currently using the latest iPad and experience major issues it really hinders my workflow being a full time producer one of the errors I seem to encounter is constant crashing if I load to many more then 4 plugins I have the lowest latency and I’m running the latest iOS software and I have the latest iPad with 64gb of space I don’t see why this would be a problem but the crashing needs to be fixed I consider this a daw and some minor drawbacks messes up my workflow another error I encounter is not being able to change the interface color scheme I know this is nothing major but this can sometime strain my eyes and I seen numerous of other complaints compared to beatmaker 3s lighter colors I would love a option where you can change it to different colors again thx but a update is needed ASAP !!!!! Another error I encounter is sessions becoming cure pot for no reason and not being able to load or anything

Issue with 808 science sound pack?. This app is great except for one thing and that is when I load up any banks or samples from ‘smooth 808’ from my sound pack 808 science it sounds muted and buzzy? But when I tap on any sample it sounds great until I load it? I have tried messing around with everything but I just can’t understand why it changes the way it sounds when I load it? Unless I’m doing something wrong but I am unable to use the smooth bass because of this? Once this is resolved this will be a 5 star app.

Game changer for producers. This app has been a game changer for me, in that making beats has become so much more accessible. I don’t need to turn on my computer to start producing - I can spend a few minutes creating a drum pattern before going to bed, then go back to it and add a bass line the next day while I’m on the go. Also, if you like to make sample-based music, the sampling algorithm in this app is better than some of the DAWs I’ve used in the past.

OG 🥁Beatmaker Me(Drummer) ♥️s BM3. Bought this app about 1.5 years ago for 25$ and it surely helped me get over the wasted $500 I spent on reason 7or8 I got like 3-4 years before and the frustration cuz I never learned to use it. I’m not a big PC guy and as a Drummer PC is not ideal cuz u can’t have ur drum kit and comp together usually but iPad makes it simple to work and lay down ideas whenever they arise. If i never saw and thought to spend the 25$ to try BM3 then my live and music horizon would be very dim but now my Musical Future at least has a Shim.....E yah... wu-tang 👐🏽😎

:(. *update* it is very hard to use after the last update. It’s taxing something immensely in my iPad Pro 10.5. The battery drains quicker than its usual quickeness with BeatMaker 3 and I couldn’t make a song more than 4 tracks using 13% cpu. Froze my iPad even after closing beatmaker. Not sure if it’s apples software since it allegedly is having memory issues at the moment or just BeatMaker since I’m not having issues with other apps. But I finally got the hang of the interface. It’s very much like the pc version of Maschine. I couldn’t wrap my mind around the previous versions of BeatMaker but 3 is now my new favorite iOS daw, possibly just daw at the moment. I just can’t figure out how to copy a track, I can copy the midi data and open a new track and paste the midi data but I can’t figure out how to simply copy an existing track, sound bank and midi data and paste it for a simple doubling.

I’m neglecting Maschine because of this. I’m blown away by the professional quality of this Daw. This is basically a full blown Maschine for iPad, with some advantages over Maschine in terms of performances. The Auv3 functionality is pretty great, and I like to use this as a brain for my other synths and drum machines. I would like to see the plug in functionality improve, as it can be glitchy at times. What is wonderful is that your projects with auv3 save with the plugin and its settings. I’ve had some problems with iSEM patches when I reload, but they seem to resolve when I open the app independently. Using my favorite drum machine, MV08 works absolutely perfectly within BM3. You guys have restored my faith in serious iOS music production. Keep it up!!

Temporarily Disappointed. Is a update going to ever come or have you guys abandoned the BM3 app & community and ran off with all our money. It has become very buggy—-updated review, after studying your update version history I guess you guys or coming out with a update in about 2 months I’ve noticed that you guys update about every 12 months. FYI a lil teaser or something or a preview of what’s to come ANYTHING just keep us informed. FEELING ABANDONED BY YOU GUYS. Y’all gotta do better with staying in touch with the BM3 community. Come on man, oh and reply to some of these freaking comments & show you care and you are hearing us some lesser developers do a much better job at this than INTUA. These things can make or break the future of BM3. Show Love & get Love

No slave/master MIDI sync. I’ve held off from writing a review for some time hoping the dev would come through on their promised update for syncing this to an external device. Nothing. They promised that it would be available “soon” right after version 3 was released and there is a whole thread devoted to the subject on the dev’s forum. Still nothing over a year later. I will not pay for an update to version 4 if the update will not be available till that release because it was promised for version 3. This app is completely useless in a modern DAW environment. Until the dev adds syncing between the two formats don’t waste your precious time creating projects on this to find out later you’ll have a total hassle finishing them up inside the DAW of your choice.

So close. For the iPad Pro to be the desktop replacement, give it two generations more at most to accomplish this...the only reason I use my Mac if for Ableton Live as the nervecenter for my studio , not to mention superior softsynths...Beatmaker is SO close...Beatmaker should be the premiere iPad sequencer for iPad One improvement after working hard with this great app I can see is that of having record-enable switches per pad. For instance, if I have two pads with the same midi channel, they will both record when I arm the record button...what if I wish to record only on one of the two pads, thus having two different & discrete sequences for the same midi channel (this is how i work) Cheers

Finally!!!. I’ve been waiting to make beats portable with PC quality on my IPad for a while. I’ve always been an FL Studio user on my PC, the IOS app is garbage lol. I have been using Beatmaker since Beatmaker 1, purchased Beatmaker 2, and now have Beatmaker 3, which is why I stopped using ,y PC btw. I was even able to, although not implemented yet, transfer my Beatmaker 2 files into Beatmaker 3 believe it or not!!! All this program needs is to be able to export the songs as .wav, .mp3 and files straight to my flashdrive, ie iXpand, or through the camera connection kit directly to a 3.0 USB Flashdrive without having to use iCloud or a PC, etc. Maybe you can make an app to do this or write it into Beatmaker 3 itself, then no producer on an idevice in his right mind would need any other program aside from this one to make a beat, put it on a drive, and put it in the car or take it to the studio for further developement. The Intua team gets no complaints from me, just a minor request lol😁, and thanks for the best beatmaker since the MPC 2000XL, in my opinion!!!

The Real Deal. This app has so much thought put into it. They do not skimp on features or leave too much to wish for. It is a solid version of a MPC style workstation to the point where the actual hardware seems to be playing catch up. We waited quite a bit for version 3 but it was worth it because while other major brand competitors gave us a stripped down version of their hardware operating systems, Intua took their time to deliver us all the specs a user of this platform would dream to have on their iPad. I really appreciate their hard work.

Horrible Constant Crashing - Unusable. Very inconsistent stability. Crashes several times every single time I’ve used it. It claims to be able to do much more than it actually can do (FALSE ADVERTISING). It’s good (and works ok) only for making short 4 to 8 bar beats with no effects. Horrible MIDI editing ability. If it could actually do all the things that it claims to be capable of doing, it would be great. However, upon reading comments by others elsewhere, it has been buggy and crashing for over a year and the developers are not being responsive and fixing things. It seems like they rushed to release this (and take your money) before it was actually ready. I’m very disappointed with BeatMaker 3.

Not Ready for Prime Time. Adding audio tracks is a living nightmare. I have 2 tracks, one is a song and the other is an instrumental of that song. I add them each as individual audio tracks. The tracks are out of sync. So normally I could fix this by dragging the tracks on the timeline. Maybe even compare them in zoom so I can sync. But this blasted thing FORCES YOU to snap to a grid!!!! Who's genius I deals was this? Now it's IMPOSSIBLE to precisely drag the audio tracks. I'm tearing my hair out, this is beyond frustrating! How does a product that cost this much be missing such a basic feature. Clicking on "FREE" is a lie. There is no free drag. Garbage app. I'm so angry and frustrated right now.

Feature request : Multi sampler instrument. Dear Developers of Beatmaker 3 would it be possible to have a Multi sampler instrument created in The next Beatmaker update ? The multi sampler would have these features . feature number (1) sample mapping view where you can use your own samples map them to multiple keys and zones number (2) edit view where you can edit and customize your samples and waves Number (3) recorder where you can record from the microphone or inter App Audio Number (4) multi velocity sensitive pads and keys number (5 ) Multi sampler instrument Folders where you can create name and save the instrument or drum kit you have made Number (6) have all instrument type categories number (7) sampler import view where you can import samples from drop box audio share audio copy the files App even instruments and samples from the web browser like SFZ SF2 EXS and even multi sample files

DAW made for the touch interface. This app is pretty spectacular...where to begin. After dragging my feet over purchasing BM3 for weeks, I finally pulled the trigger and couldn’t be more thrilled. Initial impressions: 1. Speed: this app is fast. I’ve noticed significantly less lag compared to other similar apps. On top of that the workflow is streamlined - everything is one tap away with no load times for virtually anything. 2. Live Potential: right away all the live performance features pop out at you - assignable macros, 64 pad grid, easy controller mapping, etc 3. Best sampler around: it does everything and is so convenient. Import & save sounds from other IAA apps, slice a sample into 16 pads with one touch, and EQ your samples all in one place I have more to dive into but I can see I’ll be using this app quite a bit in the coming months, can’t wait to find out what else it can do.

Perfect for High-Quality Music Creation in 22’ and Beyond. First things first, the interface is very inviting. Setting up and saving banks is a breeze. Using FX sends is intuitive and assigning different functions to macro controls is smooth. I make sample based music for sync and recording artists and compose entirely on my iPad Pro using BeatMaker 3. I want to see BeatMaker 3 continue to get updates even after version 4! We will support you! At the end of the day the only feature request currently present for myself is to allow lazy chopping of samples in the editor. Thank you for all your support and hard work!

Simply the best Of iOS. Too all the kids crying about stability issues, us real producers buss our auv3 to external audio tracks and print to tape ;). Cubasis and GarageBand and other daws are trash. Bm3 only daw that actually has good exporting features for stems . Simply the best daw on iOS. Please add track duplicate and a way to punch audio better. If you added key detection for samples that would be nice too. I now have an army of friends rocking bm3, it has changed my own life being a dad makeing beats .

Bring AUv3. You may feel like bringing this sampler to AU form might tank this app but it will actually raise the value. Everybody who already owns this app will gladly pay the in app purchase to unlock it as an AU to use inside of any DAW! I personally started with BM3 but moved towards Cubasis 3 and I have to say beat maker 3 has the best sampler of any daw i have ever used and i come from desktop Fl Studio. Its just that for audio recording and mixing Cubasis is the DAW for me. I still use BM3 to chop up samples and make loops. Please Unleash this sampler and make it AU so i can load it into Cubasis and even Garage Band. INTUA will be the leading sampler for every iPad user out there!

Dope!. Yeah, it’s dope AF.

Terrible Interface. Well, unless you like tiny icons and text in dark grey on a black background. Why do some programmers assume that everyone has 20/20 vision. Couldn’t find a way to adjust the interface so I deleted the app

Solid all rounder. Great app all round, has some stability issues which can be a pain. Having proper aux send channels so you can route anything through would be really handy. Some issues recording midi such as pad chords to midi etc... and could do with more regular updates. really good app, once you know you’re way around. Recommend highly

Great app and only just broken the surface. looks like a lot of things going on here .. I like the ableton like scenes layout. I felt it really could have had a bit more sample content added tho, at least a few more drum kits as there only about 4 included.. A bit more generous with the content and it would have been 5 stars.. considering it seems a fraction of the size of beatmaker 2.. to be able to load kits from previous incarnations would have been nice too. .edit-.On the website it says it ships with 650+mb of samples but after downloading the free starter sample kit and purchasing the Ludwig kit it is still showing as beatmaker3 using only 400mb in total on my iPad ..hmmm

Unusable. I’m new to audio mixing on iOS and I bought this app seeing how great it was in many YouTube clips. But it is so unstable and buggy it’s unusable, even in June 2021. It looks like the developer has stopped working on it and I strongly urge anyone considering buying it to avoid it like the plague. This has been my most disappointing purchase to date. Developer needs to start communicating with us and release updates to salvage what should be a powerhouse app.

This app is unstable and will crash on you. I looked into this app for a while and came across reviews stating it crashes and has some issues. I decided to contact INTUA to suss it out, they replied with ”The crash issues you’re mentioning are more than often due to either plugins or their extensive use by users. Even as powerful as it is, an iPad cannot run unlimited plugins.” They also mentioned an update is on its way, this was on the 11th Aug 2020. Still no update. I decided to buy the app and try it out anyway, I’ve found this app to be the most unstable DAW on the iPad. My most recent jam on BM3 had 4 synths, Shockwave, Pure Synth, Zeeon and AddStation pluse 9 FX plugins such as 2 x Pro Q 3, 4 x RoughRider3, 1 x Saturn 2 and 1 x Wider. The session kept crashing and sometimes wouldn’t load without crashing multiple times. I’m running this on a 2018 IPad Pro 1TB which I have had pretty heavy plugin use in apps such as AUM with over double if not three times the amount of plugins running and there has been no issues. In my opinion running 4 synths and 9 x plugins is not pushing the iPad hard and INTUA say its other plugins that are the problem and extensive use of them, I disagree. This app needs a complete rewrite from the ground up to weed out all the bugs and stability issues. It’s a DAW that could be amazing if it could actually handle what most serious iPad producers need to achieve in using a DAW on the iPad. Hopefully we will see an update soon as I know the BM3 community have been waiting for one for a long time and hopefully it will address some of these issues. At this point in time I would not recommend buying this app

Crashing. Keeps crashing

Unusable. Cannot use an app that repeatedly crashes every single time I switch sound banks in the pad screen. Unless you save every minute, your work is extremely vulnerable and at risk of being completely lost. I haven’t even a had a chance to explore most of this programs features with simple things like crashing when changing instruments. I’ve lost some great song starters because the program crashed before I could save. It’s not a funky plugin or anything as all I’m using are soundbanks with .wav

Amazing DAW. This is like someone mashed together Ableton live and maschine. Great price for what is a fully fledged DAW. Awesome sampling options and an easy to use sequencer are the highlights. Maybe more included sounds would be good but the expand ability is infinite if you use other plugins and your own samples.

I really like the ui. Please let us import samples by folder.

Great program live. This app is fantastic for live performance. I can plug in my midi keyboard and pad controller, set them up to do whatever I want eg-launch my scenes, toggle between sounds, control filters etc, (very cool!) All my keyboard apps run in the background and are saved into each song. I’ve only been using this app for 3 weeks and it is very easy to learn thanks to some great tutorials on the net. Thanks INTUA for making a great performance app 👍

want my money back. They have no free samples and I’ve done everything including have someone who uses the app try to load the samples and it won’t SO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK

3 versions. Each better than the next. $30 pffft. It's the best iOS daw

Perfect mobil daw. I recently destroyed my laptop for studio so I haven’t had a studio to work in for months, I wanted a app exactly like this forever and now I got something I can continue my work on, to top that I can connect to ableton link and work with my comrades. What blew me away was the fact of all the effects and sound manipulation, even resampling on drum pads, then you can download 3ed party plugins and vsts, I was even able to Dropbox my own sounds from sample packs on my storage computer and build my on drum pads with my sounds again, very powerful app that will be on my iPad for a very long time, thanks guys beautiful app

Amazing. I absolutely love this app! I deleted all my other IOS DAWs; everything is done through BM3. Excited to follow the development of it and see how far they can push IOS music production. If it had a step sequencer Ismail to Push 2, it would be like 7 stars out of 5 lol

Not good. I continuously tap the side gestures while playing, and it glitches out. Undo also undoes cling the record button

A delicate little flower. Make sure to only use this app on a full moon, on a Tuesday, while wearing your best suit. Speak kindly to it, cajole it. Treat it like the capricious little daisy it is. If not, your midi imports won't play, your audio units won't load, or it will just petulantly crash. Or maybe it will work - you never know. If it doesn't work, burn incense, stand on one leg (the left one - no the right one, [I can't remember now]), sing "You Are My Sunshine" and reboot your iPad. This usually works but only on the second Thursday after a new moon. Wringing your hands and gnashing your teeth is worth a try. I don't know, I just can't figure out what I did to make it not work. Again. Think I'll use AUM.

The add midi Fx isn’t working on midi tracks may need a update. The add midi Fx isn’t working on midi tracks may need a update

Poor implementation. If you are looking for something to integrate with your pre-existing setup, don’t waste your money and keep looking. This app lacks proper midi control support, no external midi sync, and the Ableton link it does have is totally dodgy and goes out of sync. It’s pretty much only useful for making music solely on the app itself, and only with the plugins that are supported by it. It’s been months since an update, and I’ve given up on it. Until I’ve seen some improvements I feel like it was not worth the purchase.

Well Done!. Small learning curve, but easy to pick up if you have ever worked with any Sampler/Daw in the past. Seems to play well with others. File System is a bit confusing but not a dealbreaker. If you want to sample buy this now. Running smoothly on new 9.7” pad!

Still a mess. I’ve updated this review to remove another star. Unfortunately, I’ve found another show stopping bug. When attempting to edit a sample in the pattern view it inexplicably trims 0.2 seconds off of the end of the clip, ruining the sample. Everything I’ve tried to do with this app (import synth samples, drive the synth with external midi or edit audio patterns in a song) have all resulted in a show stopping bug that either doesn’t work as intended or crashes the app. I get it, what this app promises is enticing, the promised feature set is perfect, the design is beautiful. Unfortunately the execution just isn’t there. I feel duped.

Unstable, poor workflow, poor file management. Ever since it was released a couple years ago BeatMaker 3 has always been plagued with random crashes in almost every session, poor unintuitive workflow and poor file management and nothing has changed as of today. These are all showstoppers for me. You will spend more time trying to solve issues and bugs than you will making beats.

One of the best. This app is absolutely one of the best DAW on IPad. The sampler is awesome! Being able to build your instrument from scratch with sample layering, keyboard range, effects even plugins! Even the sequencer is great. At first it seems a little bit confusing but then you understand all the power you have: recording with patterns or more traditionally with linear recording, creating your arrangement from all the patterns your recorded... Thumbs up for the developers!

Had to change my review after using it more!. This thing is a beast! I originally left a not so great of a review, but that was my unwillingness to really learn and dive deep into this software, because you really have to to get the most out of it. I have pretty much every major ios daw on my iPad, cubasis, Adria pro, garage band, nanostudio 2, tried the modular approach with aum, and nothing compares to beat maker 3. Its such a great time to be alive!

Amazing workstation. Glad I bought it great tool for recording on my tablet and it does everything youd expect from a full program on desktop

Ce n’est pas encore Plug and play. J’ai essayé de brancher mon digital keyboard et ça n’a pas bien marché

Très déçu comparé à d’autres apps, vous devez améliorer votre produit. Merci

Beataculous X3. Well worth the wait, definitely one of the best daws on ios. Can't wait for the iphone version. Five stars all the way. Thanks Intua

Awsome. When that app came out I got it right away then I wanted a refund because there was only the sounds on the tutorial but when this update came out it was definitely worth the 30 dollars

This Hurts. Man, don’t get me wrong, I love this software, so much. But if you’re looking to keep your iPad on current OS versions, you’re out of luck, cause they never push updates. Constantly crashing, or having to Restart my iPad until it works. Hopefully this grabs the attention of the developers, and they finally fix the bugs for people on current OS versions.

Perfection. Just amazing!

Highly Recomend. Hands down the best program on iOS for making music. Its not perfect but for the price it’s easily the best program for beat making beats on the iPad. The sampler alone is one of if not the best sampler you can find anywhere on ANY platform. Best music production purchase I’ve made thus far and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for BeatMaker 4

Want to move duplicated regions down. Hi! I’m making a trap / death metal song called Alarm (mostly going 1/64 note repeat mode) and the Cherry Lead isn’t loud enough with the 1/64 on it. So I duplicated it and made a duplicate on the track. I tried to move it down and it wouldn’t work. Can you please add this feature? Cuz now I need to figure out how to make loud enough. Thanks!

Abandoned. I am sick and tired of paying for apps that just get abandoned. Thanks for nothing.

Great. So solid now! Automation works great! You can slice and merge patterns with ease now! Once it can maintain sync via link and midi clock it will be amazing(er).

Why can’t you select odd time signatures. I think it’s pretty strange that I can’t make tracks with 3/4 or 6/8 time signatures if there is a way please let me know other wise it was a waste of a purchase

Huge thank you to the community and creators and helpers. I suffer from ptsd. This App is extremely therapeutic to me. It’s a part of my mental health to listen, experiment, create music. This app creates that cure for me. It is extremely beyond helpful to me. It’s comfortable. Easy to use (for me anyway ) also so much fun, and I cherish it so much. Thank you so much for this amazing app.

BeatMaker 3 is how I think. I couldn’t believe that when I discovered BeatMaker 3 in 2018 how it would singlehandedly change my music making process. I am so happy to have my iPad wherever I go so that I can be creative. I would happily pay annual subscription for this app to support Intua in their development.

Bm3 user EDITED. Originally posted a less than thriller review of the app forgetting that aside from a few things this app is really hot. future forward

Truly powerful. So I have to admit to really loving Cubasis as my mobile DAW, but since buying BM3, I haven't touched a Cubasis once. This has a great workflow for people looking to keep their music production on their iPad. I am now only making music with BM3. The true power of this app is in its sampling capabilities, and I find it is exceedingly easy to work with as I play with different sounds, and ideas. I am not %100 sold on the way the app handles instruments such as AU and Audiobus3 integrations, as it treats them as single sounds assigned to a pad, but once you know how to navigate around, it is smooth enough. The in-store purchases are a bit limiting for me, but others may find them sufficient. The prices are great if the packs match your needs. For me I really like the layout and rock-solid stability of the app. I haven't experienced a single crash, and the devs are active in their support forums, and are putting out frequent updates. The only drawback for me is battery life in my iPad mini 2. This app uses battery at a high rate, and will warm up the device pretty quickly. You will need to keep near a power source for long sessions. This is my favourite iDAW by far. This has really made making music on my iPad so much smoother and so much more fun. Great job. Great app!

You can sell your studio.. This app is The ultimate mvp. I've been dreaming for someone to make a real professional sampler/daw since I got an iPad. Beat maker 3 is so well crafted it rendered my mpc2000xl and maschine useless... Get it master it and you will never look back. I seriously can't believe how good this is... Easily on par if not better than 600$ and up software/hardware solution. So thx for making this happen intua i wish you all the success you guys deserve.

Really getting into it!. The last update has improved BM3 quite a bit. I’ve been quite enjoying being productive again although there’s still an occasional crash hence that’s why I’m always hitting the save all the time just to be safe Still a solid five star app and I hope for further development and stability updates to come

The REAL BEAST!!!. Excellent!!!

Great app but.... Very buggy, doesn't work well with a lot synths through IAA. Great for making beats, with a few more fixes will be a great, full production suite.

Latency is ridiculous. I wanted to use it live as well as programming at home. Impossible. I estimate 250 millisecond latency. Refund declined by Apple

Garbage doesn’t work. Went back to it after several months and it won’t load. Deleted and reinstalled and still won’t load. There are tons of apps on here that cost money and don’t work, shame on apple for hosting this garbage.

Hmmmm🤨. This is the 1st Review: First off I love this app! 😒 (4 stars at the time sometime in 2019) Second If you want this to be a 5 star app..... Let’s get the iPhone version!!!! I know that’s asking a lot but BeatMaker 3 on iPhone will cause a riot lol. Here’s the 2nd:🤨 5/08/2020 (now 3 stars) After working with this app for a while you start to notice that there’s a BIG problem with crashing 😡 not sure why there hasn’t been any stability updates and that’s really a shame because this is the best beat making app on the iPad hands down. Please don’t give us a bunch of new unnecessary stuff with the next update let just focus on stability. Thank you for your time ✌🏾

Top Selling App. There is a reason why it is! Cons: Learning curve is a bit steep for beginners. File management needs to be learned. It is NOT a DAW replacement; editing on the timeline is very limited. Pros: Endless possibilities, and endless fun. “Scene Mode” allows you to launch clips Ableton style. MIDI mapping is possible for just about everything, and Macro knobs (8) can be assigned to multiple functions and mapped to MIDI. AUV3 support, and tons of really useful effects built in. Huge community of users, and tons of YouTube tutorials available.

Love!. I love this app. I haven't had this much fun making music since I was first introduced to Renoise. Love love love!

Mind blowing app. Best app for making beats period. My only gripes with the app is the inability to lazy chop and not being able to copy and paste track automations like you can do in Ableton. Everything else about this app is perfect

Save your money. I wanted to like this app and learn it so bad but after the app crashing mid project multiple times I’m over it. It’s got potential but with the rest of the bugs in this thing not including crashing all the time I can definitely say it’s way over priced for its quality. I mean it crashes more than a broken version of fl studio you downloaded for free off a sketchy website. Save 20$ and buy GarageBand.

*So Good* for Sampling and full blown original productions:. Been a user of Ableton since the early 2000's and use it now with Push 2 Hardware. Also own Maschine Studio and in all honesty I get a lot more done with BM3 than either and have more fun doing it. The sampler rivals ANY other out there and is worth it for that alone, not to mention everything else. Thanks for the quick updates devs, I'm looking forward to seeing how far you can take this.

Very Buggy. Can’t take this app seriously at all. Can’t do basic things like keeping the playback cursor line accurate when switching back and forth between song view and pattern view. More: when done programming your first midi pattern and going back to edit the midi placement with the time correctly, you can’t select the playback time of your choice to simultaneous play and edit the segment of midi to hear and calibrate the midi unless you switch to song view which interrupts the flow of editing. Then you run into the error of the time cursor not being accurate between song view and pattern view. And sidechaining is hidden when it’s the most prevalent thing for glueing a mix together. Horrible app. Go buy a Push 2 and ableton live suite. Or mpc.

Amazing app. This is clearly the best music making app available. It has almost everything I could desire in Mobile app. My only wish would be when your importing a sound from your iPad or Dropbox etc. you were able to preview and hear the sound before importing.

Still Crashes. I can’t understand why an app that’s this powerful has such a huge flaw to it. I want to give this a 5 star rating but there’s a couple of hang ups that I’ve run in to, but crashing absolutely takes the cake. It’s stifling to the workflow. This is going on currently today in mid June 2020 and feels like I should experience these things in mid June 2017 lol smh. 5 star rating once this app starts to show some stability, especially when running more than 3 vst’s/AUv3’s.

I was really hoping use bm2 files on this. I wish it would have been possible to get the samples from bm2 over to bm3, and to be frank I’m not going to spending any more money on this, mainly because I spent more than a $100 on bm2 only to buy bm3 to find that none of my files worked on bm3. That’s the only downside for me.

Beatmaker?. The way better name is ‘ManualReader’. Somewhere under the hood it probably is powerful app, but too many things simply do not make sense AT ALL and you would be frustrated at best. …The interface lives it’s own life. Sometimes you can record a patter an it will immediately play, sometimes you’ll struggle to find where the recording did go and if it was happening at all. …Some windows magically appear and disappear …keyboard that is shown in AU plugins does not record anything …keyboard that does the recording is the most ridiculous keyboard you’d find: with extremely short but fat keys. No visible ways to control it anywhere I can go on forever. People responsible for UX should be forever removed from computer industry or sent as assistants to Bill Gates.

Used to be great. 2 years ago I wrote a review praising this app. That was two years ago. Now, if you look for any support, you were met by shills to try to direct you to a Discord where they say that they relay issues to the developer, yet if you ask them anything about the app they say they don’t know anything and they don’t actually speak with the developer. It’s a shame because it’s an amazing app that is basically dead at this point.

Who needs an Mpc. I used to produce music in the late 90s when it was necessary to buy a lot of hardware and run it with a sequencer and a lot of midi wires. This software is amazing and makes all the extra hardware unnecessary. With this software and a few AUEs you can do miracles all within your iPad.

Enough!. You can lead a horse to water, but can’t make it drink. Nowadays beat makers want everything to be so easy, like the software is supposed to make the beat for them. This is more than enough for you to put the work in, and be creative. A true producer can make hits, with a lot less!💯💯

BM3. By far, my favorite DAW. I’m usually on the go & to be able to make album ready beats on my iPad, is a Major Plus. Every now & then the app crashes or has minor bugs, but one Major Way to avoid losing work is, Always hit save after you add or edit. That will save you a headache. Other than that, BM3 gets 5 stars from me. Thanks

Crashes. Crashes too much not as easy to navigate took a min to learn by just messing with it but wasted time not wanting to learn the hard way to make a beat. GarageBand is so much better at that but this is still better fir sounds and other things. Makes it seem like a real studio just need to be able to put things down easy like GarageBand

Best iOS Daw. This application is most stable DAW environment for samples, IAA, and AudioUnit3 on iOS. I definitely enjoy mixing my own content with some of the sample packs available for in-app-purchase. Beatmaker 3 by intua is a great tool to use and can easily export martial to various platforms on conventional Mac and PC, such as Ableton and FL Studio. Be creative, make beats, and play music with this App!

Low rating. I’m writing a low rating because my Dropbox doesn’t work with either my BM2 or BM3 app. I’ve written about this issue years ago and still has never been fixed. I never see any updates or errors fixed for either app. I think if your going to charge someone to buy your product you should at least keep it running correctly by uploading updates especially on Apple which does constant updates and apps don’t always work after an update.

One of the best “daw”app. This app has everything you need except... samples. There really are nothing useful without additional content, or spend long time trying to import your own via iTunes. However, this app does have everything you need to tweak your samples, make beats, and all. You just need to prepare your own samples.

I love BeatMaker 3. I have been a music producer for many years and back in the days at the end of the analog days when I produced music is was using the mpc 60 and some boss stuff, it was more simple then and this program reminds me of how easy it is to produce beats quick and easy. I’m about to put some of the music that I produced with it on you tube on my channel.

Will not record all notes played. I’m really sad to complain about this app because it was my favorite way to make music, but its got major issues for me. When I press play, press record, and play the notes I want, about half the time it will leave a couple of notes out that I played. I read through the Manuel and everything, still don’t know why this is happening. I’m hoping that there will be an update soon that fixes this. Please!!!

Hands up!!. One of the best apps around. Hands up!! I've been using this app since beat maker 2 in 2011. Even did tutorials on it. Users friendly, easy to navigate, and synchronization on point. Plug ins on point. Chop folders,Soundbanks,Edit Mode,Import-Export,Efx,16-64 pads, keyboards etc....... Grab it today!!! Please add multiple options for importing other than Drop Box

Love it! But just fix the crashes.. Honestly I love the app but the crashes are not making sense at the moment. Just work on stability and work flow each enhancements like copy and paste on sequences to another track and same track please ! This app is the future, just keep making the little refinements.

MIND BLOWING. I hope the developer just keeping issuing updates and never delete this app!!! I made hundreds off making beats. The quality is industrial top notch. I have been a user since Beatmaker 1. Check out the quality of sounds on my Instagram: Jose_Fasaco. Thank you again for creating a powerful DAW. To date

Poor midi editing controls, no audio piano roll. Even GarageBand has a more intuitive interface when editing midi. In the time line there is not a way place the playhead so copy and pasting midi at an exact point can be done neatly. Also when moving a midi note there is no audio feedback to indicate what note you are moving to. The piano roll is also silent. Man cannot create by visual cues alone.

Issues which what we all brought. Why do you continue to take away what we have paid for!? This is an ongoing problem. I paid for this, so why do you take it way from the people!?!?!?!?!???!!!!!!! What are you deleting our sound packs? This is an on going issue with this program. It has completely wiped out BeatMaker 2 , which has caused me to lose alllllllll of my hard worked on projects, which is mean, and devastating to me, and I. Sure others. So on beat 3 why does it force me to double download already purchased programs, and now missing two other sounds that I need for the music I’ve produced!?

Regularly updated!. I love the app; it makes my iPad a competitor with my MPC live. No joke. What I REALLY love, though, is that this app came out months after the MPC live, but it's been updated multiple times with increasingly expanded functionality whereas Akai are silent and scarce with updates. I can't wait for the iPhone version!

More MIDI/Focus actions. Love this app. Use it everyday and have made some of the best music I’ve ever done with it. I’m using the Focusrite iTrack Dock and a Novation Impulse 61. I would love to have the ability to map the faders in the mixer to my keyboard. There is a dodgey way to do it with macros but you can only control the fader of the currently selected bank. Hopefully this is in the works because it would make BeatMaker even better for live performances. Other than that I love it.

Beat Maker 3, The Best Music Creation App for your Money.. About this app, when you buy it you own it. It has everything you need to make music. Third party plugins /vst’s and AU’s works very well with this app. I wish they would bring some updates. I wish they would make a Beat Maker 4. I highly recommend Beat Maker 3. This app is well worth the asking price.

Love and always have but today. My app crashed 3 times today and I saved it manually and still erased my whole beat. It’s never done that. 2twice it crashed and once when loading flydirt plug in. Please fix. I’m on latest everything on iPad Pro 10”

This is soon to be the future. I love this program, and I love that any kid with a iPad can pay 40$ or what ever and have a amazing workstation to make beats with, major beefs, I’m sure there is a way to do it but I would make global settings such as pitch and what not easy to make happen, I get coughs up adjusting each sound when there should be a easy way to do em all, and once agin I might just be unaware

This app has paid for itself. This app has streamlined my creative process to the point where I can crank out industry standard ideas in an hour or less. Customizable to a tee. If I could give 10 stars I would. Keep the great ideas coming intua. Bravo

This app is amazing. This is my go to IOS Daw of choice - for quick instant ideas and portable beat sessions on the go - #Bm3 elevated my music making experience extensively - I can’t go throughout a day without laying down a beat on the pads! This app is incredible for using Auv3 apps like GeoShred,Roli Noise and Pure Synth 2 - this app is perfect for beginners to producing beats

Coming from hardware .... I wen’t to what I know, iMPC Pro... but after messin wit BeatMaker 3 I’ve been blown away. Everything I was mad about with iMPC Pro I get with BM3... my rating is because I don’t know how to use it without thinking yet, depending on the time I spend learning it my rating will change to a 5 star I’m sure😏

Really good music production app. I started out using iMaschine2. Which is a really good app. With a lot of sounds. But it doesn’t come close to what you can do in BM3. Now i make beats for a hobby and I’m still considered novice. BUT: i feel like if i keep working in BM3 that will change soon. It’s so much at ones finger tips. Really easy to use and learn

It's the Approach. I just like they way BeatMaker is put together. Workflow slowing issues don't seem to come up as much as with my other iOS DAWs. There is some quirky behavior still but it's nothing too serious and I have had only rare stops, audio dropouts, or crashes using a combo of internal banks, AU and IAA, audio tracks, and an external midi keyboard/controller. iPad Pro (1st gen).

This Is What You Want!!!. BeatMaker3 constantly surprises and delights me while composing tracks on the go. Intua has done a fantastic job on version 3 and their frequent updates fill me with confidence and makes me feel that my songs and explorations are in good hands. Intua care about their users and their products and their commitment shows. If you are looking for DAW on iOS, this is it. Keep up the great work Intua!👊🏼™️🙏🏼❤️

No sound after upgrading. So since upgrading to IOS 17 a couple of days ago, some Audio Units load but have no sound. Is this a known issue or possibly a problem on my end, and is there a fix for it? Thanks.

Intuitive, incredible and deep. I’ve never taken to a music app this quickly, with the exception of maybe AUM. I just immediately fell in love. I really tried with NS2 but it just never clicked. Cubasis is great but more of a utility than a creativity tool. Beatmaker on the other hand just gets out of your way and lets you start making awesome sht straight away.

Decent start. Sounds good, but has several issues. It's a good sampler and I made a few fun beats in it, but the lack of midi clock makes it basically useless for me as a serious tool. Also, doesn't seem to have midi program change. Maybe I'm asking too much, it does the audio side of the MPC series alright, but it's nowhere near on par regarding sequencing things besides itself. I'm sure these issues will be fixed at some point, at which point it may be a 5 star app.

No iPad Mini 6th gen optimization.. I asked for this app to be updated almost a year ago for the new iPad mini’s enhanced screen size and yet still no freaking update. The devs have just ignored this app along with any and all support and just didn’t bother to when the new iPad was released. Still awaiting but alas it’ll never happen at this point. That’s just sad they can’t do this small thing. Or bother noticing it to begin with. Sad!!! Read the author!

Best iOS Sampler. Most fully featured audio sampler on the iPad platform (far as I have found) I still love SamplR - but that excels at other things..... BM has A+ editor, excellent pad interface with easy link to hardware pad controllers.... A few things I would request...but they seem to be adding new features and updates.

The best and constantly getting better. I’ve tried a bunch of apps looking for a general purpose beatmaker with some basic DAW capabilities. There are a bunch of them out there, but BM3 is the one for me. It does everything I need and more and the devs issue frequent updates (updates that actually make a significant difference - not just cosmetic). If I had one complaint, it would be that the UI is a little confusing. Hard to pack all that functionality into a clean iPad screen, I guess.

Please do an update. I love BM3, but as some point I won’t be able to put off updating iOS. It’s time for a compatibility update, or BM4. Even if you have to go to a $3/month subscription model or something, it would be worth it. This app is far too fantastic to abandon.

Solid but BT connectivity is a big pain. BM3 is a robust tool, without question, and between AUM and BM3 I probably lean towards BM3 a little more because I’m still not that comfortable with AUM. Bluetooth connectivity is very erratic, one day my CME Xkey Air works then the very next day it does not. At that point I can reconnect it, but then as soon as I try to play the connection drops…then so goes my creative flow. Then maybe the next day it works.

VERY Poor file management and semi-frequent glitching. I have had multiple incidents of files saving over top of other files, files not saving at all after hitting save, and sessions not being able to be deleted along with other general inconsistencies. Overall a decent app for one song at a time and I WOULD NOT recommend keeping anything professional on here without backing it up on something else.

Excellent app for making music!!!. I bought BeatMaker 3 after purchasing BeatMaker 2 and I must say that this one is a major overhaul!! This one feels like I’m working in my studio’s DAW. I work in a Barbershop and find myself using this way more than I’m able to make it to the studio. This has became my go to. I never have to pack my MacBook and midi keyboard around like I had to do previously. This is a game changer for the mobile producer!!

Beatmaker 3 is Outstanding…. One of the very best “DAW STUDIOS” out there thus far… It gives you that relaxed feeling and eases your workflow… I’m personally glad that I chose it as my everyday experience of how making great music should sound like and keep me in the best of moods whenever I’m ready to creat awesome music… Thanks Beatmaker… Peace To Everyone…

Needs songkey detector!!!. This app NEEDS a song key detector in the audio fx. Something like hornet songkey or serato sample . Let’s say I randomly find a sample and start chopping it, then record it I would like to go to my mixer select the channel where the audio I just played is at and go to my audio fx grab my songkey detector and it tells me the chord to stay in and scale. This is crucial. With out this many users will return to pc for this one feature.

Midi update. It’s a great app if you want to use it as a app to record in the iPad. But I’m trying to use it as a external instrument in Logic. The options are in the settings to route audio in midi out but the midi out isn’t working properly. It’s glitching when playing. I’m using it with the Mac M1 and Logic Pro X and would be a game changer to my workflow if I could use BM3 as a external instrument with out midi glitching or bugs in the flow. Will update my review if there is a update for midi out via IDAM to Mac.

Not loading after recent update. Big beatmaker 3 fan waiting to give 5 stars. Beatmaker 3 not loading after latest update. I had 2 stars but now it’s just 1 because their not showing the latest reviews. This maybe Apple’s fault and if so my apologies to Intua. Update It took awhile to load up. I would give 5 stars but I noticed all of my songs play slightly off beat and the mix sounds bad now. Still hoping for a fix.

BEAT MAKER 3 is the best. Every since I taken on my production more seriously, beat maker 3 has played a very big role in my transition to sample based production. I’m a truck driver so I’m mobile all the time and don’t have much room to work with, so beat maker 3 on my iPad Pro offers all the set-up that I need and is enjoyable to work with at the same time.

Crashes Often. This is a powerful DAW… when it works. It’s stunning how often it crashes. It also has a lot of problems loading apps such as Pure Synth, Koala, and Chomplr on a consistent basis. Today I even had issues simply loading a sample to a new bank. It’s so bad that I select the right sample, but when I put it in the bank it’s a completely different one (I named it something very specific to avoid duplication). I’m on an iPad Pro that I bought last year. It doesn’t give me this kind of issue with other apps.

Awesome DAW, But........ Amazing app, with a beautiful GUI, great features all around, but my only problem with it is that when using inner app audio it keeps glitching out and disconnecting from other apps. When I first load another app it works, but if I open the app to make changes then i loose connection entirely until I unload and reload the app. If this problem gets fixed then BeatMaker 3 by far will be the best DAW on iPadOS
