Scam galore. Be careful. Don’t sign up for Genius unless you’re ready to be active and use the program daily. I spent an entire year paying for genius when I never used it once because it was taking the same amount as the automatic savings and all this time I thought it was saving money for me so I let it continue. Come to find out it never saved anything after the initial $5 savings deposit and I’m convinced it made the initial savings deposit $5 so that when genius started up you’d think it was still saving you money when it wasn’t. Wish I never installed this app and I’ll be sure to warn everyone I know against it. There’s plenty of options that don’t use deceptive practices. EDIT FOR DEVELOPER COMMENT: it sounds like your app hides the fact that you’re paying for an unused service by alternating days funds are taken based on “availability” (the process described by the automatic savings plan and NOT mentioned by the genius paid membership) and not prominently displaying paid membership status so that people continue to believe they’re saving money and and not cancel their useless and unused paid membership. The fact that I had to DIG DEEPLY to find out that I was on a paid membership and that I wasn’t actually saving money as I had thought for an entire year proves my point. I had to view 6 pages of information to find out that Genius was charging me because it doesn’t even say that on my account information page in the app. 🤷‍♂️

No more budgeting :(. I’ve been a customer for the past 4 years. I really loved how simple and straightforward this app was. Over the years, there have been new features added but the core features remained. Recently, budgeting was taken away. The main reason I downloaded this app initially was to help with budgeting. I loved how simple the system was. Income - (bills + spending) = remaining money for the month. It was a quick and easy way to track my spending and make sure I was staying within my budget each month. Now that this feature is gone, I’m planning on canceling my subscription and transferring all of my investments and savings into another account. Long gone are the days of an easy to use, simple budgeting app. I’m sad to leave, but I can’t justify paying for any services that Albert provides anymore without this feature. As an aside, the app overall is fine. It does crash from time to time when trying to update the notification cards on the home page. Sometimes it crashes randomly. The team should probably try and fix those. Genius has gotten a lot slower since the early days and the app has become more cluttered with information I don’t care about. The genius tab on the tab bar is my least favorite feature that the team added.

Run! WORST MISLEADING APP. DO NOT EVEN BELIEVE ONE THING THIS APP SAYS. This app is marketed as a saving helper and a “cash advancement” app… although they won’t tell you that they have no actual person in customer service to speak with on the phone, so heaven forbid you have a problem like me or anyone else writing these reviews. Since signing up I have had MULTIPLE random transactions coming out of my bank account, ranging from $353-$5 without my authorization. It’s very convenient that when you want to close your account you have to get all of the money currently in the albert account transferred back to your bank account which takes days if not weeks… and that is for EACH WAY of the transaction. By the time that one transaction has cleared they are already taking another out so you have to be in this continuous cycle of worrying about getting your money back or trying to close your account. The app preys on vulnerable customers that are in need of a “cash advance” or having difficulty managing money, and they do not have your best interest at hand. Take it from me I wish I never would have downloaded this app or fell for their crap! I bank with capital one and they have had many unauthorized charges from hundreds of people in the same boat as me and this app, not to mention all of the solicitors you get once you sign up.

Terrible go with Venmo or Chime. I got this account because I liked a lot of the extra features that comes with this application. However, after setting up my direct deposit and ordering my card, four weeks later, I still have not received the card. I tried to reach out to customer care several times was unable to get a live person I had to text in order to speak with anyone. It was very frustrating. Whoever answers the text messages is always vague and never offers a resolution to your problem. I understand that things do happen and sometimes companies cannot control everything but even after the fourth or fifth time trying to get a card expedited because I needed to pay rent. I spoke with a so-called manager who did not seem very interested helping me and gave me the same copy and paste text messages that the other reps had given me it’s unacceptable for a member to wait more than 10 days for their debit card especially if they’re main source of income is deposited into that account. Unfortunately, this company just does not care about you just your money the features that I thought were included. Actually cost per month. This is the worst banking website I have ever used and I have used a few of them. Save your time and go with chime or Venmo!

Wow!. Let me just start off by saying I was skeptical about this app at first because of linking my bank account, but given that I live on my own and just moved to a new state, I needed to budget my paychecks properly as I was carelessly spending before. I downloaded this app with the intention to get my finances under control but didn’t realize all the benefits. So i downloaded it and payed the monthly fee, and it set up a savings account (rainy day fund) then forgot about it and deleted the app. THREE MONTHS LATER I’m checking my banking app and see that Albert had taken $10 out of my account then looked a little more and had seen they had been periodically taking money out. At first I was lied “WHOA HOLD UP WHAT IS THIS??” So I downloaded Albert again and checked it and it had SAVED UP ALMOST $300!! I was honestly so happy. As someone who had been living paycheck to paycheck and worried if I was gonna be able to pay rent every month because of my careless spending, this app has SAVED ME so much financial anxiety. I even created another savings account in the app for a car AND IT PREDICTS WHEN ILL ACHIEVE THAT GOAL! You can set up “smart savings” for any of the savings account which will take out what you can afford to save, which is a lifesaver! Safe to say I’ll be using this app probably FOREVER!

THEY STEAL FROM YOU!!!! BEWARE!!!!. Havent used albert since December and paid back what i owed them. two days ago they randomly too $200 out of my SAVINGS! i never gave them access to my savings account at all and they today they took another $100 out again. why would an app that give you loans for only $25 take out $300 dollars from your savings??? that is ridiculous. i had to close my saving and checking account and reopen them because they kept finding ways around the disputed charges. i even tried to call and they said i had to email them. tried to email them and i still haven’t got a response. i cant even log into the account i had made with them anymore which is soooo suspicious! i will never touch this app again and my family has stopped as well. i STRONGLY suggest you not use it at all because this is very messed up. even if they contact me theres nothing they can do to make it right at all! they money in my savings is for my medical bills from having lung damage and now i have to wait on my doctors visit until my bank credits me for the money that was STOLEN from me! disgusting and disappointing !!

Borderline scams! SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!. If I could leave a negative rating I’d give Albert a -10. From the moment I downloaded the app, Albert started taking money from my bank account. When I reached out I was told I had to wait which took weeks to become available in the app then a few more weeks to transfer the money back into my account. They only have an email to communicate w/. The phone number they give you is automated. Using the app you automatically subscribe which takes more money from you. It took me over 5 weeks to get my money back and delete my account. Although Albert isn’t doing anything “illegal” per say, they aren’t honest to users and borderline scams you by taking your money and making it almost impossible to stop them from taking money and close your account. I had to put an old bank account with no money in it so they didn’t take more money. Even then the whole time Albert was trying to take money from the old account. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone unless you want your money to be taken w/o your knowledge. This app shouldn’t be allowed to be on the App Store! If you’re needing an advance or budget app, or investing app I’d suggest Dave or Bright!

Worst prepaid card bank ever!!. I have had this Albert bank account for over a year with weekly deposits from my job since day one. Today they have suspended my account indefinitely/permanently with no explanation. I have hundreds of dollars that I can’t use now thanks to Albert and had to be transferred to another bank account that will take 5 business days to see the funds on the other bank account from Albert. I had a beach trip this weekend and had to cancel it cause I am flat broke until my my money from Albert arrives to my new bank account. The customers service is 2 star. They don’t have a number you can call and contact them you have to text message them through the app which is a huge red flag. It takes hours or almost a whole day to hear back from customer service. Every time I go to deposit a check onto my Albert account it takes a week to arrive on my Albert checking account. The other banks I dealt with in the past when I deposited a check through their app the funds were available in an hour or less. Ridiculous! I have mysterious charges been taken out of my account by Albert that I ignored like an idiot. Any time I deposit a check through my old bank account. Don’t use this app it’s better apps out there. I just switched to chime. Thanks for the headache Albert.

Almost Perfect. Albert is a great budgeting app for beginners and or, people who want a reliable “set it and forget it app”. However one of my biggest problems with the app is the cyber security wall that is between you and your connected accounts. I’m satisfied overall about the Genius tool, Savings Goal, time line/auto deposit options. But when I need to replace a card linked to the account, which was only one of two accounts. Because I changed my login information on the bank institution’s website. The linked account on Albert was incorrect, and when I tried updating my login information on Albert I could not get passed the account verification stage. Which caused me to pause most of my savings for about 2-3 weeks. After founding out through their help section, that I had to delete my investment and savings account. Thankfully the money get deposited back into your linked banking institution, but the fact is if cyber security is that important to the overall app. Then their needs to be a dedicated human employee for questions comments and concerns, just to get help quickly on real scenarios that the helpline isn’t really equipped to answer with the article. Other than that I like the short easy to read news articles in very user friendly way updated daily. And the break down of your investment portfolio, with changing from percentages to dollars amounts.

Could be a Godsend. I’m navigating my way through right now & am finding it fascinating. I’m retired, I’ve had a terribly harsh run with life’s realities, with some terrible losses of friends & family, including my Dad & my dog. My two best friends are gone, I survived a heart attack from which I flatlined 3 times and was given a 1 in 1000 chance of survival and without being able to stop the aging process, I’m at a stage in life where I would like to ride off into the sunset comfortably. I care for elderly family, underprivileged and I rescue any animals I can. I worry about money, though it’s not the most important thing in my life. I love my God, my family and my friends. I tip everyone more than mostly everyone and that includes from Dunkin Donuts, to mechanics, to waiters, waitresses and many others. I donate to charities and homeless people and I won’t stop. I am somewhat reckless with my money, in that I probably waste a lot. I should be able to have a wonderful life now that I’m retired, but so far the two years have been tumultuous. If this app helps me to sleep easier without worrying I’ll run out of my nest egg then I’m all in. Thank you for this. I hope it works. So far the information is vast and as I preliminarily see, it could just be the answer I’m looking for. I’m much better with a rigid plan. This will keep me aware of what I’m doing & where I’m wasting & throwing money away unwisely.

Less than helpful customer service.. Absolutely no help from customer service regarding a charge … that was authorized to a shoe site that happened to be a mimicked site… when I authorized the payment it glitched and got a notification that the payment went to a person I did not know… and didn’t authorize this person to get paid… I authorized HeyDude Shoes. The site was quickly taken down several days later. I contacted heydudes and they sent me an acknowledgment that there’s been some fraudulent sites mimicking their site… and it was a scam. I sent what heydudes sent me… even a screenshot of the receipt which said heydudes in the corner. They would not help… stating I would have to get with the merchant to get my money back. I explained that there was no merchant.. the number given just rings and then it also stopped working. And I did NOT authorize a fake person going by the name Jimmy Toussaint… all they said sorry it didn’t turn out the way you like but you need to contact the merchant to complain about not getting the shoes.. ummm wait what.. there is no merchant… there are no customer service members… there’s no one to contact! They refused any more assistance and basically said deal with it. So I lost money… didn’t get any product.. paid money to someone I didn’t authorize… and got no help from Albert. I’ll stop banging my head against the wall count my losses and leave Albert in the dust.

Used to be good but now they take advantage. I’ve had Albert for a couple of years and recommended it to a lot of my friends. It’s saved me when I was behind on rent and strapped for cash more than a couple of times. But now I can’t recommend it anymore because I barely use it. Every time I I go on it basically forces you to sign up for its premium genius feature which is $6 a month or more. I didn’t even know I was subscribed to it and they refused to refund me even though I used none of the features. But every time you open the app it has an unclosable pay wall, the only way to get rid of it is to shut down the app and open it again. That’s not the kind of people you trust with your money. They say “recommend to a friend get $150 each” but when I got my friend to download the app that they didn’t give us anything because they want him to sign up for direct deposit and spend a certain amount of money within a certain amount of time and a bunch of other flaming hoops that are near impossible to do. It’s a shame. If they were more passive and more giving theyd have more users. But they’re greedy and ask for more money that you’ll never see again

Stay Away. Do not get involved with this application. Unless you have spare money to donate. Once you want to take your money out, they will find ways as to why your transfers will fail. There is no one to call, except the messenger. They can’t even read what you are asking and take a while to review your account. I had to jump through hoops to get the information they need, just to withdraw my own money. Per their team, it is Bank Secrecy Act. More information is required. I had to repeat my situation multiple times, since they requested items I could not provide, such as statements from bank account I no longer do my banking. As I finally made 4 calls to my bank, personally visited them, got image retrieval (since a statement from my bank that all my accounts are closed was not sufficient). I had to spend more time with Albert app that did not accept 4 file images because the file was now too big! I tried various ways to submit that 4 page statement, even allowing the app to use my camera, or selecting images. Nothing worked, file too big, convert to PDF (while this is a mobile app!!!) so I tried four different PDF converters, installed them, but none of them a free and require monthly subscription. I don’t understand why Albert Application cannot handle 4 pages of images in the first place. I just have major frustration at this point. I never experienced such a big issue over withdrawing funds from anywhere. Please do not participate.

It’s a well rounded financial app. I like Albert for the reasons that it helps me keep organized with my balances on my accounts. It tracks all data and has everything accessible that has to do with my spending or income in one app. This app can do a lot and I’m very impressed with the quality of the services. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that they can be tricky about having all your bank information. If you aren’t careful then automatic withdrawals will come out of your bank accounts from Albert to “deposit” money into your Albert account. This feature should not be automatic. I had money taken out several times from an account that didn’t have money in it and it caused me to over draft. I eventually learned after months of going through having to put the money back into my account from Albert that I finally learned that you can turn that feature off manually but you have to monitor it as it will turn back on every so often! Otherwise really great app and I like it for organization only.

Horrible, Fraudulent. Do not, I repeat do not sign up for this. Today, I woke up to a unauthorized charge from these people. Thing is, the card they charged was a BRAND NEW debit card. I never put this card on the app. So as anyone would be I was shocked and confused. From the moment I contacted them, it went downhill after that. I was told they did not see the transaction, which is a lie because I was on the phone with the bank and it shows up in my statement. My bank tells me, that if my debit card was not in the app as a authorized debit card that means they searched a database and charged a befit card linked to my name, which they said is an unauthorized charge . My bank tells me this is not a legal way to obtain funds you must have your card on file for anyone to charge it. When I told the Albert agent this, they instantly stopped responding to me. It has literally been about an hour. I have sent multiple emails and support and nothing. These people are scammers and frauds. Do not sign up, do not put ANY of your bank information on there. I have documentation of all the emails and chats I have with them, unfortunately I will be sending all of this to my lawyer so they can advise me on what to do next. Horrible, I’d give 100 negative stars if I can.

Definitely not for me. I didn’t understand that signing up for Albert Genius would take a large amount out of the account, and that it’s monthly. It was not stated how much would be taken, and when I got birthday money, it took about an eighth of it without warning. This is money I needed to pay rent, car payments and other more important things. I understand that it’s meant to be a savings app, but it’s really hard to use when you can’t afford to do that. I couldn’t find a way to “unsubscribe” from Albert Genius without deleting my account, but I’m not able to put away savings on my current budget. I wanted help with my bad spending habits. Not for more things to spend my savings on. Also, it could only fully connect to one of my bank accounts, the one that my family set up for me for emergency money, and a backup if my job isn’t enough. So the one that rent comes out of, the one that my spending comes out of more, it can’t really help me with that one anyway. So. It’s simply not helpful to me at this time, and I definitely feel like it could use some improvement, especially when it comes to having to set a savings amount, and then find a way to “pause” it. It should be optional only, and I was terrified it would take out of my account on its own, when this wasn’t why I was looking for a financing app.

Wish I could give it zero. This is the worst mistake I’ve ever made. First of all, you provide intimate financial information about yourself. Makes sense, it’s a financial app, after all. Moving on to the issue with that. They text you about your stuff and your goals once you set up genius (lowest you can pay is $3/month to get the service). This app GOT MY NAME WRONG which is HUGE to me since they have such confidential and volatile information about me. Y’all can’t even get my name correct but you’ve got bank info, credit cards, and loan info? No thanks. I wish that’s where it ended, but...since downloading this app I have gotten spam emails about loans, consolidating loans, and so on. I NEVER got these before and within 2 days of downloading this app I have received an email of this nature from various companies multiple times per day. I have also received unsolicited texts from numbers for services about loans and financial planning, which I didn’t consent to. I’ve gotten a strange “telemarketer” type phone call about housing financials too, just two days after signing up with this app. It makes me wonder what this app is doing with such private information they gain access to. Who else have they given it to?! If I’d have known beforehand I’d be getting spammed, I never would have undertaken this app. It’s way too coincidental in nature that all of this started within hours of me downloading this app. Beware of this!!!!

Overall disappointing. Albert has been an okay but not great tool. Albert has given me good advice when texting with questions, and the answers are always very thorough and informative. I like the way the savings works, except for the delay to receive withdrawals. However, I’ve been pretty disappointed with the actual budgeting tools. My first issue was that you can’t select biweekly pay, only once or twice a month or weekly. It does a very poor job of detecting income and transactions automatically; when I manually enter information, it’s still confused. I manually added my new twice a month payment schedule and amount, and it listed my next two paychecks as the 31st of this month and 15th of the next and skipped the 15th of this month, making it appear that I have half my usual budget. That’s just an example of the often clunky and inaccurate budgeting tool. It can take days before the budgeting information is updated, even if I refresh my bank account and credit cards. I can only track one of the cards that I use from the same company. While I like the value added services on this app, the primary service is a big let down.

Don’t trust them. If I can put a negative star on here , I would. Reason being they charged my card $16 without even letting me know not even via email. When I first signed up with this app it didn’t say they were going to charge you to use them. To the paid services that they ask you about in the beginning I declined no. Only reason I got that app was to help me out with my budgeting. But didn’t know they would charge you for using it. And the one time I did use it cause I never kept up with it after I downloaded it they charge me $16. Then you go to their help support and it’s only via text. Not even a phone number to call them and deal with it faster there. I recommend not to use them AT ALL even if you are desperate. It’s funny how when they charged me that money on my card I text the help support that there was a mistake, they don’t reply, but when you text the help support that you want to cancel your account OHHHH they don’t have no trouble there with contacting you back within seconds. And then when you connect your account to your bank they ask for you WHOLE social security number , not the last 4 digits is your SS but your whole social security # , which is fishy to me (because other apps don’t ask you for your whole SS only your last 4 or maybe not even). So just be careful and DONT USE THEM.

Where’s my money?. I was introduced to the app by a friend and loved the concept of it! My initial issue was that I gave them ALL of my banking information (which obviously I do not take lightly), but then the app failed to do it job in tracking my previous expenses, such as bills, and delegating a good amount for me to save. I had just paid most of my bills within a week and a half of beginning to use the app, but the app failed to notice my bill paying expenses (like upcoming rent). Soooo, the Albert app took a LARGE sum of (extra) money out of my account into one of my savings goals and left me with virtually nothing for living or upcoming bills because it failed to recognize any of my past bills. Also, this app does not offer a way to input bill expenses manually which may have solved this problem from the very beginning. I was very upset with this, so naturally I wanted my money back in my checking account, and I cancelled my Albert account. Welp, I’ve been waiting over a week to get my money fully “processed” into the app so that I can then “process” the withdrawal. (Both processes the app says would only take 2-3 business days). Any who, maybe I just have bad luck, but if you value your money don’t give this app access to your account. I’m still waiting to get my money back nearly 2 weeks after canceling. Anytime I try to contact some kind of support I get the same unhelpful response verbatim.

🥺😭😭 What rainy day fund? 😢😢😡. Do NOT use this app! I do not write reviews often but I had to report this one. I opened my account in July of 2021 and I forgot all about it. I started to do instacart in Jan of 2022 to try and make a few extra dollars and I had my money deposited into this account for a rainy day fund. I never used the app or the card to check my balance or spend money because I wanted it to be a true savings account. I was excited because I knew the money was adding up in my account. I checked Albert this morning thinking I would see almost $200 or more in my account and I only have $98!! I check the statements and there is a $7 charge each month (16 months) for benefits I never used or signed up for. I explained my situation to the computer because you can’t speak to anyone on the phone and they said I don’t qualify for a refund because it is past the 30 day trial subscription. I didn’t make my 1st deposit until 6 months after I opened the account and that is when the charges kicked in. How was I to know I was on a subscription if I was never charged for it before I started making deposits? They are a scam and will take your money don’t do it!

Highly recommend! Download today for financial ease and assessability. Albert App is, by far, The best financial app I’ve ever found!! Once you link your bank account, Albert analyzes your spending and financial income to determine how much money you’re eligible for for an instant withdrawal! Plus the Albert app gives you not only a savings account, that you can have more than one category under, you also link your vehicle, home, and health insurance information and rates, That way you can check for quotes automatically using the app to see if you can find cheaper policies! You can even add or link your stocks, investments, and Retirement balances! So Albert app is truly the best financial app there is out there, that literally has all your accounts into one place to monitor, add, and edit when needed! And on top of all that, you’re even able to text genius, a real life agent, for help or any questions you may have. Highly recommend to everyone! Very easy to understand and navigate! So if you’re wanting the Great, easy accessibility to ALL of your important finance accounts, all in one, Easy-to-use, LIFE CHANGING App, then I highly recommend downloading the Albert app immediately!

Don’t do it!. The app itself with Genius is great and a great tool to use. Other than that- there is no phone number to reach them. They have a text genius number and it’s very vague you can’t text a real person. I got my direct deposit sent to Albert, payday came and I noticed I did not receive my money. I called my payroll department confirmed the acct and routing number, they sent me my check stub and everything was correct. I wrote an email to Albert and included the check number that was made out to them, the amount it was for, the date my employer deposited the check and they responded saying they don’t see that check number. They asked if I can send them a copy of my paystub - I did, literally minutes upon opening that email. I asked them for a phone number where I can reach them because I need my money ASAP - I need to pay my rent and my car payment. And I have yet to receive anything from them. I sent them another email through my work. Nothing. Don’t waste your time, energy or money on this company they are scam artist! Very disappointed- was really liking the navigation of the app. I went to Facebook to see if there’s any way maybe I can reach them through there and come to find out a lot if people are going through the same thing!!! Next step is contacting BBB see if we can get things moving along or getting them shut down. Nobody should have to go through this!

Better over time. So I’ve been with Albert about six months now. First it was a headache because when I first got the app they gave me $200 into instant cash no issues I hadn’t even signed up with direct deposit yet, then I set up my direct deposit paid back the 200 but I couldn’t get any more instant cash for a while and I had plenty of money going in, so every two weeks I would text and get some kind of excuse. I was done I moved my money to a real bank and only kept $200 to go into my Albert account the next week after doing that they instant cashed me $75 same thing two weeks after that then this past paycheck I get zero instant cash so again I text message them they tell me you have to have one check of $600 going in or two checks of 400$ going in. I was never told that all the times I asked about this instant cash and honestly the instant cash was the whole reason I did this! So frustrated me at just told them whatever they are no use to me anymore. Next day I get 35$ instant cash. Still in this economy 35$ does nothing so I think I’ll try something else. I did read reviews about people saying they stole money I didn’t have any money stolen but it was an unnecessary headache. I’ve been with my job 5years I was getting like 5 grand a month in this account in the beginning but nope I couldn’t get instant cash!! I think the instant cash is worse than a mortgage for a house lol!!’n

App has gotten sketchy. I’ve been using Albert for years. The first few months, I tried the Albert service but the financial “experts” didn’t help me at all. I was trying to get information on how I could lower my loan interest rates or tips on paying them off and they had no advice for me. I stopped using that service and only kept it as a separate bank account. I have it set to withdraw money weekly which I enjoy. My newest problem started last month. I opened the app and it forced me to go through a bunch of screens related to genius before I could access my account; I didn’t realize it was signing me up again. It was very sneaky. There were no options to skip, no verification that I was authorizing a payment, and it ended up charging me $9. I immediately, within minutes, sent the request for cancellation and they still took my money. Then the same screen appeared just a couple weeks later. They make it seem like you have no option but to pay and sign up to access your account; if you’re like me and run through stuff quick, you wouldnt even realize you were subscribing to a paid service and “authorizing” a payment. Today I go on and they now have a popup asking me to “tip” them for their services. How am I “saving” money with them if they keep asking for more? I’m most likely going to transfer my money back to my bank and close my albert account for good. The company had a cool concept but has started to take advantage of people

Great App with excellent and very useful services/functions!. Great app that is always very helpful. Many great uses. Genius can be helpful if you take the time with it. Rainy Day savings service is a cool idea but would be extra nice if it transferred immediately in case You decide never mind on it want to use it right away instead. However I won’t let an unreasonable expectation/ desire lower the rating because there is no bank in the world as far as I know that can guarantee instant everything… So just fyi if you’ve putting a 20 in the rainy day savings; expect not to be able to use it for a couple days. The purpose of savings is… to save… not put in there to use right away…. So the more I talk about it… The more it makes sense……. Yeah the advances can be great… if you wait it’s literally a free service… (I never do I choose to pay the instant fee every time hahahaha) but that’s a whole other…. Anyways… great spending tracker/budget allocator/fund manager… as well as a great debit card that functions just like any other banks debit card… completely free… (the only thing pay is genius and if you want your advance immediately and not have to wait a business day).. I can probably keep going but I’ll leave it at this… I recommend this too anyone that could use any of the mentioned services!

Was great, now it’s almost pointless. Please bring back your automated budgeting features to the app, or else I will likely leave. I love your app and your services as it has finally allowed me to get ahold of my finances and see my whole financial picture in 1 app. However, since taking away the budget tab in the app you took away a large part of its usefulness and functionality for me. Sure, the genius can make me a rough budget, but if that’s not trackable in the app, it’s more or less useless. Now I have to use a second app, and that app won’t keep track of my Albert investments and savings. I’ve spent almost a year getting used to your service abs tweaking it for my household, and now I have spent the better part of my 1 day off this week having to reinvent the wheel to look for a better tool when I would’ve much rather spent this beautiful day with my family. If I wanted to have to talk to a financial person to check my budget every time I want to make a purchase, I might as well just invest with a traditional bank or financial institution, particularly when your savings account has zero interest. Also, it’s misleading as all of the reviews and internet searches that praise Albert often praise it for its budgeting features.

Helpful. This app has helped me with saving money where it takes 2-3 days off waiting to recover and have access to which helps me make smarter choices versus using my bank savings where I can transfer and use in minutes. I have spending problems and this has helped with showing that down and get me to think before I transfer bc I would have to wait for it and by that point I’d it worth the transfer? Is it going to help me taking 2-3 days? No? Great money still saved for emergency/vacay/cushion. If I’m short on bills I can request small amounts that don’t send me over the edge when I have to pay it back bc the amount isn’t so high. There’s also the savings option where it likes for savings in my account and does daily save amounts too. You can invest, connect your certain bills like a Bill part service. There’s a reminder notification too. Super helpful. The fee to transfer a payday advance is 6-7$ which feels like a lot compared to other company apps where we can choose the amount.

Avoid!!!!!. I hate Albert. It’s supposed to be an app to help your finances, but instead, it has put me in a bind several times. They randomly withdraw money from your account for savings and investments, but the setup was not transparent to the point I didn’t even realize I had agreed for them to take random amounts of money from my account daily. Also, during your Albert account setup, you literally can’t get past the Genius screen without agreeing to a trial. Due to this, Albert took rent/bill money from my bank account 3 different times within a week and left me scrambling to pay my bills. There’s no customer service, only a text number and the people don’t know what they’re doing. When I asked how to keep it from withdrawing, the customer support person couldn’t even tell me how to do it. I ended up figuring it out myself. To make matters worse, you can’t end your Genius subscription or close your Albert account without withdrawing all funds from savings and investing, but it’s a pain to withdraw because it takes over a week for the funds to become available for withdrawal and there’s always some ridiculous excuse as to why the withdrawals aren’t working. Albert is nothing but a hassle! I definitely don’t recommend!

Great app, very convenient but literally the worst support team ever.. I loved the convenience of having Albert, loved the saving and investing options. But one of my bank accounts linked to it got closed, and it locked all of my money within the app. All the support team asked me to do was upload my last bank statement. I did this 6 months ago, and still haven’t had access to the money within the app. For that factor I have to rate it 1 star. For months now, literally, I’ve had money stuck in the “savings” part of the app. I uploaded all the necessary bank documents multiple times, time and time again they reject the documents and ask me to reup load for whatever reason. The support team is absolutely awful and it takes them days to respond to this simple solution, and Everytime I speak with them it’s like they have no clue what I’m talking about. Literally starting from step one Everytime I talk to them about the same issue of being able to withdrawal my money from the app. For this reason I would recommend no one gets this app, just use cashapp or get a regular bank where you can actually speak with a human on the phone, because this has been the most irritating situation I’ve ever dealt with when it comes to banking 👍🏼😒

Be careful!. I used the Albert Genius and their “rainy day fund”. The thing was I could never withdraw the money or transfer it when I did need it. One day after attempting to get the money I was mysteriously asked for bank statements from a joint account I shared with my husband that has nothing to do with the primary account the rainy day money initially drew from. After getting nowhere with customer service (btw there is no number per the rep I texted. Also no clear and easy way to contact them). I wanted to transfer the money into the Albert Cash checking and I couldn’t because I had to verify that joint account. Since that didn’t work I wanted to unlink my account so I can transfer the money into the Albert’s Cash Checking Account. Guess what, can’t do that because again, they want to see my closed joint banking account full statements. So I have no access to the money. They have access to all of my personal, business and minor child’s bank accounts and they can hold your money hostage by asking for statements from any of those accounts even if Albert themselves never pulled money from them. Do NOT put large amounts of money into the Albert Genius, Rainy Day Fun. If you really need the money for an emergency you may have to give them access to accounts they really don’t need to be in. They will use the fact that you are vulnerable and really need that money.

Don’t do it. DONT USE THIS APP! They are scammers and they refuse to shut down my account and have been giving me the run Around to do so! Plus to make matters worse they won’t allow me to take my banking off there site unless I put another banking of mine to replace it! They said to clear out all my account to $0 in order for me to do this which I did finally after weeks of waiting for transactions to finalize to transfer from them taking money from my account! I made all the accounts $0 went to delete account and it states I still have $7 left In an account! All of them say $0 I am livid! In the mean times they love taking the $13 a month out of account for subscription they say I can’t stop till I $0 my accounts to delete my profile which I have done! They are scammers!! So DONT DO IT! There are other cash advance app that don’t trap you like this one! They are stealing peoples money and I hope they get what’s coming to them stealing from people who are obviously in a vulnerable spot and struggling. All of you part of this company hope ya know karma has a amazing way of sneaking up on you all. Anyways if you any of you read these comments and thinking about it this is your warning to please don’t! I never leave comments especially as long as this one but I feel the need to warn as many as people as possible about these thieves stealing money from already struggling people! I would’ve gave them 0 stars if it was allowed!

Do not dare get involved with this company. This company completely stole $179 dollars from my account for their sudden yearly fee. This was after contacting them earlier in the month via text saying “I want no activity on my account” they STILL WITHDREW FROM MY PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT without my permission so i had to go to my bank to change my account number. The app wouldn’t let me access or login so I couldn’t cancel my subscription on my own, the app would shut down on itself clicking around so you couldn’t even change the settings, and the loopholes on trying to get customer service was confusing and non-intuitive. They weren’t able to even solve minor problems like shutting down my account. It was a dishonest company and i never would have gotten this app if I would have known about a yearly fee. They weren’t forward with that transaction and it made me have to skip out on food, driving to work, and was economically devastating to my current finance situation. I will always warn people not to use this app and speak against it every Chance i get, warning others to stay away from this ridiculous, foolish, and dangerous company. This is such a shame and heartbreaking tragedy this company has caused me in my life. Do not support this company. It’s unfair, dishonest and rooted in greed.

Horrible app and service! Don’t do it!. If I could give negative 5 stars I would. I used it for a couple years. No problems at first. But after a bit there are so many issues with the app, bank connections stop working all the time, they make you jump through hoops to get it fixed, the banking and transaction history is inaccurate, the customer service is horrible! They act nice at first but they gave me the wrong information every time I contacted them. I would do what they asked to fix my account and there would more problems and complications on their end. The employees helping do not communicate consistent information and just sorry for the confusion when it’s clearly their fault for not being on the same page or being trained well. They FORCED me into opening a checking account I didn’t want just to get my money out, saying I had to open one to be able to transfer my money out cause of an “upgrade”. 10 more hoops after the forced account I still don’t have my money. They don’t any accountability for their mistakes and improper communication. This app is so not worth the trouble as it doesn’t even do what it claims consistently. Already contacted a lawyer about this issue. Took me a month to get my money from them. Canceling the app made me so happy!

It’s a scam. DONT DO IT. So I’ll try and make this as short as possible. They are a scam company. First they have no contact information. Just some number you can text that sends back automatic replies and sometimes they take over an hour to even send those text back. Second, when you sign up for the app they have you put in your bank information, well I thought the point of the app was to borrow money and pay it back. However once you add your bank account they start taking money out of it. The first few transfers were for around 9$ for saving(Raining day) is what they call it on the app. Then about a week into it. They will take 200$ from your personal bank account to put into your Albert account but it takes 3-6 business days for the funds to even be on your Albert account then if you want to transfer them back into your account that’s an additional 3/6 business days and on top of that they still are taking money for the raining day funds you can’t close the account until all the money is no longer pending and the balance is zero you’ll have to threaten them via text and eventually they will close the account. Luckily I was able to get my money back from my bank but I highly suggest using NOT USING ALBERT

Don’t do it. I live paycheck to paycheck right now, I have 2 bank accounts because 1 is where my bills auto pay from. And the other is my Albert account that my direct deposit is set up to. I have had nothing but problems for weeks and the latest one happened today. There was no money in my Albert account but I had some in my other account. I got a text message about a DECLINED (not pending) transaction I didn’t try to make. It was fraudulent. I messaged them and let them know the transaction wasn’t me. They froze my card, sent me a new one, and told me I was good to use the temporary online card from their app. Okay great, right? Wrong. I transferred the remaining money I had in my other account to my Albert account and they pushed the fraudulent transaction through anyway, after stating it was declined. It was the last $20 I had until payday to feed myself and they won’t fix it and told me to “disregard the previous message” about being able to use my online card and the fraudulent transaction being declined. And when I asked them to just put the money back, they told me they couldn’t because it was “pending” and I’d have to dispute it after it fully went through… which takes 3-5 days. But then told me they could fix it in 10 days if it hadn’t gone through or dropped off? Because that makes sense.

It’s genius. This has been the app that’s helped me to actually save, to actually budget, to actually move me forward in the financial direction I want to go. It helps me because I can track everything and see what I’m spending and where I can save. That was my problem before—I had no idea how much money I was actually spending and I couldn’t get a grasp on really saving money without touching it. Albert has helped me save because I can literally put away money in a savings account inside the app. I don’t touch it once it’s in there. That’s my favorite thing about this app and the reason why I bought it: I can save inside the app. That makes all the difference to me. It keeps me from using that money. It even gives lots of options to automatically save from your bank account so it’s doing the work for you! I also really love that I can text Albert at any time (during their hours) about ANY financial questions I have, and they will give me resources. That’s pretty special! I haven’t seen that anywhere else. Long story short: it’s very helpful, it does the work of saving money for you, and it’s genius! :)

App is horrible! At this point I’d say it’s fraud!!. Initially this app did me Okay, my bank supported it, it tracked my money and I had access to my money which is honestly the most important part. Because you wanna know if you send the app money you can get it back when you need too, well a few years go by and my main bank account was bought out by another bank, and my new bank does not support the apps (alberts) way of accessing accounts (plaid) to get access to your money. So since my bank doesn’t support (plaid) I cannot get my money off the app. I opened a new account that I knew was supported by Albert and plaid, and now STILL have no access to my money because it keeps telling me that I can’t transfer my money to a bank account that isn’t my main account. It seems like every singe time I follow there instructions on something there’a a new excuse as to why it won’t let me transfer my money to my new account. To this point I would call this app fraud simply because they make it almost impossible if not impossible to get your own money from there app. Unfortunately I also opened a checking account with Albert simply to see if they will even work to get my money. I would never recommend this app to anyone. Please avoid the headache of this app and use other more trusted apps.

Beware....Do not install this app!!!!. This is by far the most unethical company I have ever come across... and I have worked in business a very long time. I installed this app because I like the concept of what they are trying to accomplish, apparently execution is a huge issue for them. I installed the app and input my bank information. The app couldn’t get my budget right... but that wasn’t the biggest issue. I signed up for the savings option assuming they would move money from my checking into my savings. I realize I should have done a bit more research before signing up for this option.. that part was my mistake. As soon as I realized that they were going to pull my money from my actual bank account and put it into some mystery account I removed my bank information and contacted them. They wrote me back and agreed to cancel the transaction and that they would close the account. They explained that the money would never leave my bank account and would not show up on my statement because it had not processed. Well, today (three days later) I wake up and Albert took money from my bank account. My Albert account is closed so I can not transfer my money back to my real bank. I can not get anyone to contact me regarding this issue. They stole money from me and are refusing to fix the issue!!! This has been an absolutely horrible experience!!!

Much appreciated, very useful when your in a pinch. Honestly it’s a pretty good app, we’ve all had an unfortunate issue thrown into our day every now and then and nobody’s perfect. Having access to a quick $100-$200 give or take can definitely come in handy. I had my little 3 yr old daughter and gf on a little ski trip in Vermont and saw some unknown charges pop up thx to Mobil banking apps. I immediately called and canceled the card before any serious damage was done. However I soon noticed as we approached Killington mountain in Vermont the only form of payment I had on this trip was that debit card. Stupid mistake only bringing that but still, grabbing a quick $200 and getting 3 lift tickets and a nice hot lunch for everyone with some to spare for basics and gas was huge. You do HAVE to have consistent direct deposit from your employer hitting your account on a weekly or biweekly schedule for at least a year I think it was. So no, nobody can just grab it, they pull it directly from your paycheck as soon as your direct deposit hits Friday morning. Which I have no problem with makes sense.

ONLY LOANS IF YOU PAY FOR SERVICES. This app is very misleading, I only downloaded it because I needed to borrow money from my check, after taking me a hole day trying to get it to connect to my bank account, I finally connected it, only for the app to con me in to their services, didn’t even realize I was, I just hit the invest $250 button & it took me to a screen asking me to pay for genius & I did for a second because it said I wouldn’t have to pay yet, I was only trying to borrow money, then it kept saying I needed $10 to even borrow 🤦🏻‍♀️(like if I had it I wouldn’t ask) so I put some money in my account & it took hours for it to even update that I had money in their, it kept saying I couldn’t borrow because I didn’t have $10 in my bank. When I in fact had $100. So finally it updated & I still couldn’t borrow money because I had to wait 2-3 days for Albert’s mini transfers to verify my account again. Then that finally came through only to still not be able to borrow because you have to have genius service, that you pay for 🤦🏻‍♀️ by then I had already canceled that because why pay for something that won’t even let you borrow. Another misleading app.

This app is a scam & janky!!! Please run. II’m sooo mad first off I downloaded this app and never even got to use the app when I got paid today my money wasn’t there so I had to stay late at my job and ask about an account number where my full check was sent too and it was this app! I never went in my ADP app and change no banking info so that right there let me know that this app is Janky. I’m a single mother of 4 and I need my money I can’t just let them take 2,000 dollars for me. I will definitely be filing a complaint and talking to a lawyer bc in this time and day you can’t lose a penny and they switch my account info without my knowledge that is illegal on all platforms. I never write reviews, I’m telling y’all run to not download nothing the only tho g I did was download and fill out the simple questions and I never used it for one bc you have to pay each month for instant cash and then they wanna take out like $40 in your account o wasn’t feeling it so I never used the app don’t have a card or nothing. How can I get my money? Once my issue is resolved I will be throwing this app away immediately! The only reason why I’m giving one star is bc you have to give at least one star but it’s 0 stars yall…. Run don’t even download…. Use EarnIn or Dave

Super convenient. I love this app. They will let you advance anywhere from $25-$100, according to how much your direct deposit is weekly. Customer service (through text messaging, there isn’t a phone number to call, but text works just fine) is very nice and the response time is never more than a couple of hours. If your due date is wrong, they can change it swiftly and smoothly. Always polite and courteous. What really makes me love them is that, if for any reason your account may not have enough in it to cover the full amount you have to pay back (this has happened to me once or twice, if insurance or something else came out on the same day), they will take their money back in increments. They will not intentionally overdraft you, which is super helpful and very considerate. If you need your money immediately, they charge a 4.99 fee(paid when you pay your advance back), vs if you can wait a day or two then there’s no charge to borrow. The only thing I would change is maybe have a one-time monthly fee that would allow you to advance however much you need as many times without a fee each time (i.e. $4.99 per month instead of $4.99 per advance), but that’s just being nit picky... everyone has to make money. Thanks guys & gals, for being a great service!

An App For Millennials to be money smart. This app has been so helpful in saving money for different projects like fixing my car or filing for bankruptcy or products that I want to buy. The cool part about the app is that it tells you your budget, let's you know if you go over your budget. This app actually helps you save because it takes just a little money out of your bank and into the goals you set. My husband and I struggle with money management because neither of us was taught how to manage money or save it for that matter, so this app helps us save money with little to no effort on my side at all. The best part is you almost don't miss the money that Albert takes out. I love that it looks at how much money I have and it saves only what I can afford based off of what our account balance is. I highly recommend this app to anyone who struggles with living paycheck to paycheck and feeling like you just can't save money. This app has helped my husband and my save almost enough money to buy a lower-cost car. It's hard to be employed full time and both of us being full-time students at University with only one car. Thanks to this app, we should have enough saves up to get a second car in about 6 months.

Scam. As soon as they create an account no matter what it asks you to make an Albert Genius account I could not get past the subscription tab so I closed out of the app, however I started getting a monthly charge from Albert even though I did not have access to the app and every time I opened the app it would ask me about paying a subscription. When I talked to support they said it was my monthly Genius subscription, the one I never signed up for and didn’t have access to. So I got charged for a service I didn’t have, and I couldn’t even access their app to cancel it until I accepted this yearly subscription that I (of course) in immediately canceled. Also, their support is awful, you text a number for help and they’re slow to respond and misunderstand everything you say. I would give this app 0 stars if I could. They’re unhelpful, they steal, and the only way to access anything is through their app that you can’t get access to unless you agree to a yearly charge that you get nothing out of. If they reply at all, they’re just going to be like “oh we’re sorry you had a bad experience” but nothing more will be done, they stole money from me, say it was my subscription that I didn’t have, and act like it’s my fault.

Don’t download until they fix their app. When I first downloaded this app I noticed that there is a checklist of things you needed in order to be eligible for an “instant” as they call it. It’s basically a loan up to $150 depending on your income and the checklist I mentioned. I checked all the boxes and was eligible for $35 then it increase the $45. And then suddenly it went to zero and all the check boxes were unchecked. I went to see why in the app and the boxes left unchecked were as follows said “ receive consistent income in the past two months” “ at least two paychecks above $400 for one above $600.” “Recent paycheck received on time” “Monthly income at least $1000 over the past few months”. Here’s the part that really annoys me. All of those things I have done and the boxes should be checked. Literally for the past four months I’ve made well over the $1000 required. I reached out to customer service through the app and it’s like they didn’t want to hear what I was saying. I kept repeating that this doesn’t make sense because I have checked all the boxes consistently for months. I don’t even need the advance I just want to know that I’m eligible and it’s available if I did. The team seriously needs to figure out a way to properly analyze everyone’s income to accuracy. Until then I think I’m done with this app because it’s more of a con than a pro.

BEWARE. I searched Google for a payday loan or cash advance and Albert was marketed as "Get $250 instantly!" So I created an account and agreed to the terms and conditions without truly reading, as one does. Several other lenders have you link your bank account to verify your direct deposits and loan eligibility, so I didn't hesitate to provide them access. After all, I have nothing to steal lol. It was unclear that what they were actually doing was creating an account for me and setting up auto transfers to said account as "savings." Definitely not what I thought was happening. Their site says to make changes, download their app. So I installed the app intent on closing this account and stopping any transfers from my bank account, but the app had no access to a menu and my only option was to enter more information and keep hitting continue. Then I hit a dead end on a page that required me to select how much I would pay them monthly to use their "Genius" service. I didn't want to do anything like that, but again, no menu and no options. I eventually texted the number from which i received automated texts from Albert and said "Close my account" and then was prompted to type "DELETE." I hope that's all I needed to do. Overall, an incredibly frustrating and shady experience. Don't fall into their trap.

Amazing app. I was always too lazy to go to the bank or an ATM to withdraw cash to save for various things (vacations, emergencies, Christmas), and I didn’t want to create an actual savings account that would lump it all together, so I constantly had NO money saved because I didn’t have the discipline to not spend all that I had in checking. Albert is AMAZING! It lets me create as many folders as I want, for whatever I want. They have “smart savings,” where they automatically will save a certain amount of money for you each week and spread it across your folders, based on the priority you’ve given them. Then, you can also add funds as you’d like. Best of all, you can withdraw money whenever you need, without any fees. It does take a couple of days to post to your bank account, but that is the ONE, single thing about the app that I don’t love, and I can completely understand why it can’t be immediate. Love love love this app. I talk about “my Albert” to friends and family at least a couple times each week, and they know exactly what I’m talking about. And you can choose how much to pay for the monthly subscription, so if you’re super tight on money like I was when I first got the app, you can give just $5/month and have all of these great benefits.

Confused. I was never told $144 will be taken from my account without my knowledge I try to get into the Albert app but I can’t do I don’t knots of I have a balance in the account out not I’m not able to set up a pin and most of all that irritates me I can’t call and get a human to discus my concerns I have to email customer service to me this is not a good banking app I want to close this account got reasons explained 🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶 Since this last review these people has taken in total $176 from my account this month alone. I’ve been texting support for two hours and nothing has gotten resolved I’m telling support I can’t download or get into the Albert’s app. So they canceled the Albert card I’m telling them I can’t use. Then ask me for verification. Wait what?? Verification you’ve been texting me for two hours now they want verification🧶🧶 the very first person that answered the text should’ve asked for that. Bottom line money of being taken not authorized. I never do business with a company I can’t talk to a live person I can’t even activate this card and not it’s canceled Cancel this account and give me back my money Forget this going back and forth with Albert on this text thread I’m contacting bbb How they canceled s non activated card that can’t be activated I tried to put the card on cash app it tells me wrong card number

Run away!. I try not to write reviews, unless I feel like it’s important, and I am telling you… No, screaming to you to stay away from this app. It has been several weeks now that I tried to close my account. The problem is that they force you to set up an investment with smart money, and as soon as they have even a penny from you, you cannot close your account unless you go to the process of withdrawing the money which takes several days. If you pull it from your “investment”, it can take up to 14 days per what the app says, and during that time, it will not allow you to close your account. I have gone back-and-forth with Customer Service many times over the past several weeks and my account still cannot be closed. Which means that in the meantime, you are charged for another month of service with them. I feel like this is done purposely as a way to continue to collect monthly subscription fees from each customer by making it near impossible to cancel. I wish I had seen the reviews on Consumer Affairs (which Albert is currently rated 1.4) instead of just reading the reviews on here, which absolutely have to be filled with fake reviews. I’m sure there are many other apps out there were you don’t have to go through this. Please do yourself a favor and research before getting involved with this company.

Scam. I have been using this app for years. Normally I had no problem with it and I thought it was great…however fast forward to now. I sent my tax refund to this account as I did last year. Last year no problem this year. They are basically not giving me my money until I’m able to prove that it’s my money. I have sent them my marriage license, my birth certificate, my ID and four pictures of my husbands Id to prove the money is ours and yet here we are two days in to arguing with them to release our money. They are now asking if my husband has any more id like what other iD does he need you literally have everything. And all of this because I asked if my money was pending! Don’t waste your time or energy on this app. I am disappointed because I have recommended so many people to use this app I will be personally texting them and telling them if they have an account to delete it and I will never be using this app again! Next step is to report to the BBB because money that was sent to us by the federal government is not being given to us! I wish I could talk to a real person

Super helpful for people who have a hard time saving.. I don’t like leaving written reviews for apps, unless I feel like they’re useful and user friendly. I’ve used this app for almost a year and I have enjoyed it very much. I wasn’t very good with knowing where my money was going or how to save efficiently. Using this app has helped me tremendously especially with saving. Every month I get the spending review, it helps me have an idea of where I’m spending too much. This allows me to be more conscious the next month without having to “balance a check book” every day or week, and no more paper receipts. The smart savings tools helped me save small amounts of money I could easily spend on unnecessary items. Half the time I don’t notice the amount taken out and when I check my Albert app it’s nice to see those small amounts starting to get larger. If you’re financially lazy like me, but want to start better habits with saving then this is a great app to use.

Literally started stealing my money.... I got the app as a financial planner and it worked great! I immediately turned off the automatic saving feature though because I don’t like giving someone else control over what goes in and out of my account. For a few weeks there was no issues. Until one day I noticed low sums of money were taken out of my account ($5) that was not visible in my Albert account but claimed to be taken from Albert on my bank statement. I immediately contacted support which is only available via text and not phone call. This was frustrating but they eventually told me the money was going back and that they paused automatic saving. But it was already paused, I checked multiple times. Basically, they took money out of my account discretely with no notification. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I reported them to my bank and I highly recommend you DO NOT use this service. The advice they give is not worth potentially have money STOLEN from you. I repeat: I turned off automatic saving and still small amounts of money were taken out of my account by Albert and not put in the app- my money was stolen. I bet they were hoping I wouldn’t notice.

Closed account issues with money from savings. I’ve had a Albert account for a while and most of the time I don’t even check it. I decided to go into the app one day because I noticed it has taken some money off my card. I’ve had money going into a “rainy day” savings account. Which is fine but I don’t have much of a use for it since I already have a savings account. I go on to close my account and it sends me an SMS informing me that the funds from my rainy day account will return to my bank on file within 3-5 business days. This was on February 6th, 2022. I have yet to receive any refund of my money and every time I reach out to their customer service “genius” I get no real resolution… they continue to ask for time to look into the matter when I showed them exactly when it’s taken money off my card and hasn’t returned it even though I closed my account. It’s very upsetting because I shouldn’t have to hassle a robot line for my hard earned money back. There’s no number to actually call and speak to anyone for actual answers. This problem is still not resolved. 0/5 stars if I could. App not worth the headache.

Worst app I’ve ever downloaded. Anyone reading reviews before downloading this app beware . I was desperate for money any amount and anyway possible , I downloaded this app and they let me borrow 50 bucks upfront , it cost me 6.99’to borrow the 50 and because I needed it that bad I was ok with that I also needed a membership which again because of how desperate I was even that I was ok with . I chose to be charged month to month obviously if I’m willing to download this app and pay 7 dollars to borrow 50 I don’t have the upfront money to pay for an entire year , after going out of my way to select month to month i eke up and my account which was brought to 0 after this was charged 145 dollars for an entire year subscription basically after Calling for help telling them I never was ok with this as well as fact I went out of my way to select the opposite I was told I need to wait 7 days for my refund this app is highway robbery the services aren’t even close to worth it the costumer service was just complete garbage I would tell anyone thinking about downloading my this app to stay far away as far away as humanly possible this is by far the worst app I have ever downloaded

Don’t do it!!!!. If I could give 0 stars I would. I used this service for a little over a year. After a few overdraft fees I asked the company to change my repayment date bc my direct deposit hits after Albert collect there funds. I explained via text that the repayment has been paid back and I would like to change my repayment date bc the funds aren’t always available on Wednesday when they normally take it. Long story short on Friday they took the same repayment I paid on Wednesday, they made 3 different transactions that caused me 3 overdraft fees. I was told that I could only be refunded for two. After going back and forth and sending screenshots showing that it was an error on their end. I was told I would need something from my bank stating that the overdraft fees came from a Albert because they aren’t sure. But u can clearly see the fees came after the three transactions from Albert posted. This only came after I asked when I’ll receive my refund for the two overdraft fees. Over a $100 in overdraft fees caused by this company and all I get is a sorry! Smh if u wanna throw away money sign up for this service if not run fast as u can. I prefer Earning or Dave!

From a former fintech employee. DON’T USE - first and foremost, their tech and UX are flawed. The banking integration is not reliable and, if they can’t solve for that, then how do you think they are managing their secured data?? Your accounts and your money?? That is by far one of my biggest issues. However, there were numerous others including the fact that their “toggle” of which account to use for deposits/funding your Albert account doesn’t work. They took money from an unauthorized account to fund my investment account (hello, FINRA) and have yet to allow my to fully divest my money from their platform as their sync/refresh for the integration isn’t working. They even tried to take money from a CD I have, which never should have been tapped in the integration. There are FAR better solutions out there, especially for self-directed and fractional-shares investing. Do your homework and avoid Albert as the monthly subscription fee annihilates any value this app might have had. Lastly, give up on ever having a human for support as they only manage in SMS land, which I can only assume is a non-US third party vendor based on lack of timely response and days in between their responses. Total fail on all levels.

This app is a garbage scam. Now I’m not to keen on bad mouthing any business or application I involve myself with. But after what I went through dealing with the charges. And untimely withdrawal from my personal accounts with no prior warning I am giving you. The public a fair warning and word of advice. Do not download this app! They care not if they overdraft your account and after I placed a stop payment. Through my bank they changed the charge name to get around it and take my money. All of this happened AFTER I cancelled my subscription and account. Not only did they take the money with no permission but they did so not only once but twice. I paid their loan back TWICE. And then they admitted to messing up but tried to re apply the charges. (And as for customer service) They are absolutely garbage! They constantly try to make you look like the bad guy. They constantly try to ignore what you say and offer advice that has nothing to do with the situation on hand. AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE. They take hours to respond! You literally need to spam the service chat to get attention. I highly recommend three apps like Albert. And that’s Dave app, Earnin, and or Bridget. Way better services and easy to communicate with.

So helpful. I love the fact the EVERYTHING is in one place. My loans, savings, checking, investments, insurance(s) and so much more. Their Genius savings is amazing! It saves what I can afford without me having to do anything. Don’t ask me how it is done. Somehow (I think) it looks at my income/debt ratio or what I spend-vs-how much I make per month and saves just the right amount ALLL THE TIME, consistently. I just signed up for their Genius investing today after having Albert for over a year. I also use another app for my investments but was able to link THAT to Albert as well. Albert has a wonderful team of people that I can text at ANY TIME, and they are so patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. When I closed a bank account and reopened another one, they patiently took me through the process of closing my savings that I had with them and re-establishing savings with my new bank. No matter how many time I had to ask the same question, they were incredible. I suggest it to everyone and anyone who brings up finances in a conversation. THANK YOU ALBERT!!!

Very great way to save chump change. This app is a absolute genius, it has helped me save money that i would never be able to save because of how hectic my life can get, I am very happy i chose Albert to be my financial buddy because it has helped me tracked my spending gave me advice on what and how to spend my money told me when i spend to much money at one place also i love how it gives you a monthly summery of how you spent your money i recommend this app to anyone that is looking to save money, have extra money saved up, or need help reaching a goal. I like that i can create accounts that i need help with saving and i can choose an amount of money that goes into that account I was able to purchase a car by doing that and I’m very proud. I give everyone my world this app won’t disappoint you it may be confusing at first but i had the app for 3 months and in 3 months i was able to save up and buy a new car why not download the app I promise you will not be disappointed THANK YOU ALBERT. ❤️💯

In 5 months I saved more than I had in years.. Although there are some minor bugs that are issues this app has succeeded in helping me save. I’ve save more than I have ever in the past and that has made me proud haha. I’ve even started investing and looking for ways to make my money work for me. Some issues are I want to pick the day my money is pulled and auto invested. I get paid on the 5th and it pulls on the 1st making me cut it close for the next few days. I do wish it functioned a little more like a full bank account. I’ve had the same bank account since I was 14 and I can assure I don’t get any benefits for them and I’m looking to upgrade. I’m excited to see what the Albert Cash option brings when it finally comes otherwise I may look to varo to replace my bank as they have some saving features as well. But I have seriously loved what Albert has done for me and my finances.

SCAM THEY TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY ONCE YOU LINK YOUR ACCOUNT. DO NOT USE !!! SCAM SCAM SCAM ! First they allow you to do cash advance up to $50-75 which is always helpful. But then they offer you a cash advance up to $250 if you sign up for direct deposit . I’ve signed up for direct deposit for about 3 months . I haven’t been able to do NO CASH ADVANCE since and I meet all the eligibility criteria . He is the bigger issue Albert currently have over $500 of my Money and has blocked me from using it and get this it’s OCTOBER 30th rent is due ! I’ve emailed the support team numerous times ! I’ve texted numerous times for 2 days and no one has yet gotten back to about unblocking my account . This is my money and this is a sense of urgency. BECAUSE when I was doing cash advances you’ll wanted your money on time BUT what to play with mines . I left emails saying that I will go on EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM and leave this exact same review if I don’t hear from someone today !! I will then remove this review !

It’s a Scam! Do not download for cash advance!. I would give 0 stars if I could! I originally downloaded this app to use the Cash advance feature that was advertised but once I enter all of my bank information and personal information I realized that the cash advance option was not available and only the credit score and savings option. From there they created a bank account and a debit card with my information without my permission and also charged my bank $132 without my permission for a“Genius “fee. (Even though in the app it literally says the fee is $12 a month yet they charged me $132????) and they refused to refund me my full amount stating that it is only prorated because it was a month after I signed up even though I never utilized any of their services. So they only refunded me $105 keeping $30 of my money for services I DIDNT EVEN USE. And to add, they don’t have any live representatives for you to speak to you can only email and text. Way to prey on innocent consumers who are already struggling to make ends meet who ONLY downloaded this bogus app in attempt to secure some additional funds to get by. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING FOR THE CASH ADVANCE OPTION, ITS NOT WORTH IT THEY ARE LURING YOU IN TO BE SCAMMED!

Life changer.. I don’t really leave reviews for apps all that often (I really should, I know) but I had to make an exception for Albert. I’ve always kinda struggled with setting (and sticking to) a budget and after going through a divorce, which layered on some debt, it’s been harder to dig myself out of some tough financial spots. Then came Albert. This app makes it so easy to keep track of all my bills, budgeting and “other spending.” I have the “Smart Saving” set up and in the 8-10 weeks or so that I’ve had the app I’ve saved several hundred dollars which I would have normally just wasted on dining out or coffee - instead that will go towards paying off my debt. Seriously a life changer for me. It also sends you helpful tips and alerts (in fact, I just learned today that I spend a ton more than I really thought on dining out) but doesn’t judge - just gives you the data and info so that you are aware. I love this app and it really is changing my financial health and future. Thank you developers!!

Payday Detection is not reliable. I mostly love this app. Customer service is usually great. Genius is helpful and the app is fairly good at tracking your spending. Very customizable for saving and investing. The debit card is stylish and has Tap to pay. My main issue is with advances. They try to schedule your repayment date to fall on your next payday. However my repayment date is often shown a couple of days before my actual payday, so I tend to avoid using the advance feature for this reason. An attempt to get me to use direct deposit so I can get paid 2 days earlier? I even spoke with customer support to tell them my exact pay schedule in advance but still the repayment date comes before my payday. If the AI cannot predict your payday reliably, then we need an option to manually set our repayment days. It’s good that there is a grace period for repayment, but Albert will still attempt to withdraw the funds on the repayment date whether you get paid that day or not, causing you to overdraft if you are not careful.

The idea is great, but needs important improvements. So far I can only rate it with 2-3 stars. The app and idea is great and very convenient, but it has 2 very important imperfections. 1. Manual cash account. Everybody at any point uses cash, more or less. It’s very inconvenient to track cash expenses. If you add a manual cash account, you have to add transactions manually (which is obvious), but you also need to update the balance of the account manually (which is very inconvenient). You have to take a calculator and do every transaction on your cash account balance manually. 2. The app doesn’t connect with investment accounts such as Robinhood and TD Ameritrade. I have accounts in both, not retired, just regular investment accounts but unable to connect them with Albert app. That’s why so far only 2 stars. If these improvements will not appear after a while, I think I’ll stop using the app because doesn’t make any sense to use it not in full functionality. But hopefully I’ll change my review to 5 stars, because as I said the app is very convenient and friendly.

Feeling proud. I am not much of a review type of person, but looking at Albert and how streamlined the interface is I feel compelled to share. I did not reluctantly download Albert. I wanted to see if it would really work and so I set the parameters. To my pleasant surprise I have almost $400 in my savings. I cannot express anything but being proud because I am a full-time student (graduating this year I might add) AND a full-time employee with Department of Homeland Security. With the ever fluctuating financial crisis my department faces it is such a huge relief that someone is genuinely concerned about my financial health. I might add, that it is nice that the automation removes another “thing“ off of my plate so I can remain focused on my studies and my career. I am a 32 year old male, hard-working, and saving money for a rainy day with ease! If I can do it, you can do it, too! Thank you so much for creating this app and contributing to my financial success :-)

Albert is amazing!. I downloaded Albert with not really knowing what I was getting into. Once I linked everything from my brokerage account to my credit card account. I saw the benefits of knowing my net worth. From seeing I spent $100 on Dunkin’ Donuts last month or seeing I spent $75 on Walmart last week. It helps you budget and makes it easier. It breaks it down from bills , income, credit card balances, house mortgage, car payment, insurance the list goes on and on. It’ll break it down to give you a budget on what you can spend each month and also having a side savings account. plus if you sign up for premium it’ll have answers just a text away. You can choose what to pay from $4 a month being the lowest or going higher. The only problem I have is when you sign up for the premium app you pay the monthly rate all at once. It doesn’t come out monthly.. but all in all , I’m super happy with seeing my spending and finally having control over money in “one” app!! Five stars.. love it

$500 stuck in limbo for weeks, 0/5 stars if I could.. I can’t even begin to explain fully the horrible experience I’ve had with Albert over the last 3 months. As mentioned in other reviews, they only offer support through text or email. If you have any REAL issue, they will talk you in circles while never actually accomplishing anything. I’ve had issues with my bank connecting since Sept 2021. I got the text support involved in Dec 2021 when it seemed to be an app glitch more than anything else (the verify bank button did not work). After going back and forth for weeks, I gave up hope and decided to delete my account to have my funds returned to me. I have had nearly $500 stuck in limbo since Jan 30th. It is Feb 23rd today. Normally wouldn’t care so much, but have recently hit a rough patch where that money would make such a huge difference. Text support offers no alternatives to get my money back to me and keeps asking me to remain patient. I’m entirely out of patience…I would run in the other direction before considering using this app. It works great until it doesn’t. And then they can’t offer the support necessary to do anything about it.

Please don’t download this app. I know it sounds great in theory. I am a law student and have gotten into the habit of reading over terms before I download some apps, but always (without exception), apps that request highly sensitive information like this one. Wow, I was simply shocked by what you casually consent to via this application -hard credit pulls, third party companies gaining access to your information permanently, you cannot sue them if they wrong you or join a class action lawsuit if there is a large issue that effects many people in the same way - it’s insane. So, i casually went through some of the lower rated reviews of this app and almost all of them report large amounts being pulled without service being provided in exchange or any record keeping, an enormous inflow of third party loan offers and third party financial inquiries, and the worst part is how difficult it seems to correct or prevent withdrawals even if you do opt out. Please do not download this app, please. It seems well enough, but there are so many others out there, maybe even your banks app, that will do the same thing without dinging your credit score or giving your information to literal strangers for money.

Very useful, best app i ever downloaded. I always had a hard time saving. albert helps me keep track of my spending. i pay $6/month for albert genius but compared to what i save it seems very insignificant. they also help me find the best credit cards and best savings. i literally just asked them to find me the cheapest flight for my next trip. i read the other review about getting spam emails and text so i was hesitant but i decided to try it and so far after about 10 days of using this app there has not been any emails or text from phony telemarketers. overall i would definitely recommend the app. pay as much as you can for albert genius cuz it helps them give better service. i was amazed by how i can text them and get a response instantly ( of course its not 24/7 but during the day it great and if you send a text over the weekend or late at night they just answer the next business day). Thank You Albert team

Use Truebill instead. I have been vetting various services for money management and this is probably the most frustrating one I have encountered. Some of the perks like bonuses sound great but they do not outweigh the pain points. The app is finicky in linking banks so I have had money in limbo for both savings and investment for several days. The investment component is particularly frustrating because you can’t close your Albert account with an open investment account. Well Albert has been “verifying” my bank for over a week even though it’s the same bank I’m already linked to for spending analysis (Charles Schwab). This is their way of locking you into their service because now I can’t close my account. I have been in touch with support and have followed all instructions from them. The issue was deemed complicated and moved to another team last week. It’s still not resolved (bank still pending link)and they have stopped responding so now I have no idea if I will ever get my money back and be able to close this account and permanently delete this headache of an app. If you want something similar without the headache I strongly suggest using Truebill instead.

So far not so good. The app itself is pretty great, but it doesn’t connect to my credit card (ongoing issues with my bank, a very major institution) and hasn’t updated my spending info for 3 months, so the financial advice has been completely out of whack since I mainly spend on my credit card for larger purchases. When I brought this up via chat with “Albert” I was basically told this is an ongoing problem with my credit card provider and they’re happy to help me cancel my account. No other solutions. I’ve never experienced someone in customer service “happy” to lose a customer before. I’ve already paid for the year so I’m pretty much stuck with the bad financial advice (and “smart” auto savings taking way more than it should since it doesn’t know my spending habits) unless my credit card info eventually does update. Wish I loved this app since it is priced a little lower than my previous savings app. Once my year is up I’ll be transferring everything to a real savings account where I can earn interest instead of paying for an account that doesn’t really work.

No support. I’ve been using Albert banking for a couple years now, and as of right now they suspended my account out of the blue and have no told me why?? I lost my card recently got a new and had to dispute a 1.20$ transaction few weeks before the suspension. Reaching out to support is like waiting for paint to dry. They only do text which they can respond when they buisness hour closes or two days later. My ACOCUNT is suspended and they were the only bank I used and no one has yet to tell me why so I can figure out what happened. Like did I pay to many bills in the same day with my new card?? To many transaction on my lost/stolen card?? I’m literally still waiting to here back. I absolutely HATE that you can’t talk to someone over the phone it would make my process much faster instead of waiting days for a text back when you’ve only given me 10 days to move what I have in the account to another banking. Like I’m literally so disappointed and livid at what they been putting me through. I wouldn’t be as mad if they at least respond in a timely manner about the situation. There’s literally holding my money hostage because I can’t even transfer what I currently have in there somewhere else .

Scam. I heard about this app and thought it would be perfect for my savings needs since I am a broke college student. While creating the account it does request for you bank info which I didn’t think anything sketchy of since apps dealing with your money like Venmo do too. BEWARE. While creating the account I got to the slide that makes you pick an amount to pay for the app which I thought was stupid but then I noticed it offers a one month free trial so I went ahead and picked the lowest option available ($4) and planned on deleting the account prior to the one month free trial ending. I literally set the app up on Tuesday, July 17 and have been trying to delete my account since. It won’t let me because there is a random $10 “gift from Albert” that has been pending since Tuesday. It’s been over 2-3 business days and I’ve reached out to the support number and email but since it’s the weekend now I have to wait until Monday. I checked my bank account today and noticed that I was charged $44 for the Albert genius membership. It’s only been like 5 days and I was supposed to have a 1 month free trail?? Why is this money being charged?? And to top it off I still have no way to delete my account or request a refund since it is a Saturday. I am livid.

Don’t waste your time.. This app is a total rip off. I have been using it for about 4 months and have my direct deposit put into it. I have had friends join using my link. And I have never gotten that 150* the promised. I have used the cash advance feature 3 times and alway paid it back right on time. It’s been about 3 weeks now and I still have not gotten the 150 for setting up direct deposit or the 150 for getting my friends to join. Plus it’s been 3 weeks since my cash advance and it’s been telling me I don’t qualify even though nothing has changed since the last 3 I got. Plus they charge you interest which is fine I get that but then they make you give a tip on top of that. Which I paid for all 3 times without being late. Now that I actually really need the cash advance this stupid app says I don’t qualify check back tomorrow. It’s been saying that for 3 weeks. So they just want to give you and advance a few times so they can get that extra money off you then without notice make it to where you can’t get a advance. Definitely going to another banking app. This one is total trash.

Highly recommend to early 20 somethings like me. So, I'm not the worst at saving money, but it's still kind of hard to do it right and know how much to put away and stuff like that. Albert does it automatically. The smart savings feature has saved my life. I have saved so much money by it just taking small increments that it knows I can afford on a regular basis. I am paying $5 a month but to me it is beyond worth it. I like having this money set aside that's not easily accessible to me but I can retrieve whenever I want. It also shows me what I'm spending it on so it can guilt me into eating out less. If you're a young adult like myself and need to start saving for life but don't know where to start, this is the app for you. My only reason for 4 stars is that it really keeps pushing me towards investments and I wish there was a way to just make that go away because I'm not interested in that. Sometimes the notifications can get pushy so I turned them off. And it's hard to adjust my income.

Money Saved goes Unnoticed. So far, I think I like this app. I got kinda nervous when money is deducted from my account without my knowledge as I don’t want to overdraft my account; however, I’m trusting Albert to be sure not to cause an overdraft. Small amounts like $20 and below get deducted about three days a week. I have had this app hooked to my acct for a week and I have already managed to save a little over $100 so I am excited to see what that number will be a year from now or two years from now. I think that Albert should allow a user to pause savings goals so that pulling from the account doesn’t cause an overdraft since I use bill pay (checks) to pay my bills. I haven’t really explored some of the other features yet as I’m more concerned with saving right now and then I will dive into investing in the future. So far. So good. I’m still a little nervous; however, I have only been using the app for a week and a half. I’ll write another review once I gain more experience with the app!

WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS. They stole my money. I attempted a purchase but the merchant was unable to process the transaction and I immediately received a screen that said “your transaction could not be completed”. The money is gone from my Albert account. The screen says it could pend for two to three days. It’s been six and I still don’t have my funds back. Albert initially told me the hold would release in 3-5 and now they’re saying ten. They refuse to give me a statement on their letterhead to give to the merchant and they refuse to release the funds. The merchant has given me proof that the transaction didn’t even begin processing on their end. THEY ARE THEIVES. THERE IS NO NUMBER TO EVEN CONTACT THEM ON! UPDATE on 4/23. - received developer response to contact via text. No resolution. I attached a screenshot of the support thread with the merchant stating the transaction was VOIDED and not refunded. They still refuse to release my money. I contacted the CFPB. UPDATE: new transaction failed and I sent reference number and proof of void from merchant. Albert refuses to give an update or provide me my funds despite my CFPB complaint and merchant PROOF OF VOID. They are thieves. Run at all costs!

I wish I could give it zero. I read about the app and download it with the purpose of getting professional financial help. Since my salary is 210 per week I was hoping I could get help to manage it better and also save money. I could pay a fee with the amount that I chose so with my salary I chose to pay 5 a month a thought would be fair. It said this price would be PER MONTH, I work hard to make the little money I have and I worked extra hours this week so I could pay off my credit card. I download this app a few days ago they said the first month would be for free so I thought next month I will start paying the 5 dollars. I deposit my paycheck in my bank account for the extra hours, 110 dollars I went to look at it this morning and suddenly Albert took 55 dollars out of my bank account. A money that I had plan for it and I wasn’t expecting this charge that I don’t even know what is for. I have tried to send emails. I have tried to send texts. No one answer and there is no phone number to call. So yes joke is on me I got messed up by a financial app that was suppose to help me with financial but ended up putting me in financial problems.

Didn’t think it would be a big deal but.... I started having my paycheck deposit into a new checking account, that still has my old account on there as well, but to keep things separate basically. I didn’t think it would be a big deal for Albert to see the same company is still depositing over 3k a month or more into my account just on a new checking, but boy was I wrong. I basically screwed myself out of using Albert now due to this because their system can’t tell I’m still the same person getting paid by the same company just on another account that’s also linked. So before you go doing what you want with your money ladies and gentlemen just keep that in mind if your gonna use apps like these at how much of a headache it will be to continue using them. It’s almost not even worth it anymore because I will have to “prove” myself like a brand new person now. Sheesh I figured paying 5$ a week extra for the times u needed an advance was already kinda taxing but didn’t mind. Wonder where the 5$ everyone pays each use goes to now I think Albert should use it towards tweaking their system software just a little.

Do yourself a favor and stay away!. First of all, you cannot talk to customer service. Only text or email. Second, there is no overdraft protection, AT ALL. I mean if you have thousands in savings and overdraw your checking by a dollar it will not draw from your savings to cover you. So if you use automatic payments and miscalculate at all what you have in checking, you’re screwed and will be paying returned check fees and late fees due to Albert. Third, do not believe the hype about them giving you money for setting up direct deposit. I did it and never saw a cent. Finally looked more into it to discover that they raised the minimum direct deposit amount (I guess around the same week I signed up) so I was disqualified when my first direct deposit did not meet the quota. Being with them for many months now I’ve noticed they are constantly changing these requirements and programs, probably to keep people from getting the “free money.” There is no one to talk to about these things like I mentioned in the first place. Go make an account with your local credit Union, or a major bank, or some other alternative bank like Chime or Sofi and stay away from this hot mess before it costs you money and time.

Don’t trust them, no no!. I come from Mexico where we know what crime is and from one scammer to another, Albert is one. Takes one to know one. Just read all the things you’re “agreeing” on when you first download the app. You give them permission to do, basically, whatever they want with your bank info and money. You are accepting full responsibility for anything they do, which means you can’t sue or hold Albert accountable for any hard pulling they might do, or any misplaced money. They over pull from your account and make you go into overdraft if you’re not paying attention. They won’t do anything to give you your money back if you go into overdraft. Albert will take a VERY long to give you your money back, that’s IF they give you the money back, which more often than not they do not. And guess what, you confirmed to take full responsibility when you first signed up, so you can’t do one little sweet thing about it, lol! Any app that asks for your bank info is a scam, come on now that’s common sense, just like you’re never supposed to give out your SSN, same thing with your bank info. There are too many online scammers now a days. Please do no sign up!!

A SHAM and a SCAM. Has to be the WORST pay advance app I’ve used. I had a balance of $100 in my account after I just advanced $50 today. Spent $25 on gas for my car then ran to get a few things from the grocery store and to my surprise the card declined for a $15 transaction. I’m confused since math tells me I should have $75 left. Check my app to see a hold for the full $100 balance that was on my account from the gas station. Sent a text to CS who tells me that gas station transactions can place a larger hold on our funds that can take 1-2 business days to process which already makes NO SENSE! Then when I clarified the timeline it then switched to up to 10 business days(which probably is more accurate, guess they thought 1-2 days would go over better) and they have no control over when the transaction will clear that’s completely up to the merchant so their hands are tied. Im not sure what back alley deal they made with these merchants but these things should be CLEARLY disclosed to customers before we use their app. So now I’m left waiting up to 10 business days to have access to the funds that I’m scheduled to pay back in 3 days. As soon as that’s done this app is DELETED!!!

STOP STEALING GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!! NOW!. DO NOT GET THIS APP! I was all hyped about this app, referring my friends and family using it everyday, knowing it was too good to be true. I’ve been negative in my bank account so I’ve been using this app to direct deposit my checks so that I can pay off my debt in small amounts, but when I was up to my last $120 in Albert I went to get gas while I was on E late at night trying to get home my card was declined while it had $67 dollars on it and then the money was still taken after being declined!!! And when I tried to call Albert you can’t speak to a representative and the so called “Genius’s” in charge of incidents like this only respond to tell you that they’ll look into it. It’s been 3 days and they haven’t responded not 1 time after the initial text back. I also tried to transfer money to My fiancés account thru Albert to her actual bank and come to find out the transfer is still “pending” well let me tell you something… I sent the transfer through, 4 days ago. And guess what….? It’s still pending! I’m beyond furious and I do not recommend this app to anybody negative stars if possible. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!

Wow...just wow. Ever have a buttload of money and then make “a few” purchases and have wayyyy less money than you thought you should have? That happens to me way more than I’d like to admit, between getting my kids more clothes and shoes because they outgrow things daily it seems, to smaller forgetAble purchases like filling up my tank or automatic withdrawal for child care or loaning money It became harder and harder to keep up, but as long as my bills were paid and my credit was okay I was okay with that cycle. With Albert he alerts me of any purchase, big or small and records it for my review later. So I know where I can afford to shave down a bit. With all of the small 30-75 dollar purchases here and there who would’ve guessed that I was spending an average 2,370 a month on just shopping??! If you’re a busy person who doesn’t have time to sit down and do a calculated break down of your expenses each time you swipe your card, I definitely recommend this! Help yourself! Lol

Don’t ever change bank accounts with this!. I liked Albert until I changed back accounts. I closed the original bank account I had linked with Albert after opening a new bank account. I linked my new bank account with Albert, and then Albert would not let me withdraw my funds in Albert. They said I could only withdraw funds to my originally linked bank account - even though that bank account no longer existed. Long story short, they’ve refused to return my money and I’ve had to get an attorney involved. They are requiring documentation on a bank account that no longer exists (I didn’t keep any statements from that bank, can no longer log into it, it’s no longer local - out of state, and I didn’t take a screenshot of anything confirming the account closed MONTHS before I decided to make a withdrawal from Albert when Albert is requiring all these documentation just to access my money.) And nope! Providing my identification and proof of address was not enough for them, they would only offer to return my money to me if I could provide proof that the original account closed. So - in the end: Albert works great as long as you never change bank accounts and decide you want to pull your money out of the Albert savings.

Amazing App - Try to Scam You with Subscription. So the app itself is fantastic and the savings buckets are phenomenal. It really helps me keep my various savings categories clear. HOWEVER, if you get logged out of the app for any reason then it FORCES you to re-subscribe to their genius subscription before you can access your money again!!!!!! Luckily, I was able to get away with the “free trial month” just to get past the screen and then go through the process to re-cancel it (not easy or obvious, took me forever to find the first time) so I was never charged for it but still. It bothers me on principal that you absolutely cannot log in and retrieve your money without subscribing to something you don’t want. Developers: PLEASE create a “skip” or “no thanks” button so you can get past that screen and proceed with logging in without subscribing. I get that you want to make money but not allowing people WHO HAVE ALREADY OPTED OUT of subscribing to access their money without re-subscribing is a scam.

Making Albert Main Account. I’ve have a great experience with Albert so far and thinking of making it my main account. Gave 5 stars because of the investment part of app too. Not to mention I’ve only received one advance and soon as I paid it back I was offered double what the first advance was which other apps I’ve used don’t offer higher limits that fast! They also explain to you when you switch your bank account why your advance is lower than normal and what you need to do to get a higher advance. There’s a whole list explaining what was analyzed and what is needed to be approved for a higher advance. This is probably going to end up being one of my main checking accounts. You can also refresh your linked bank accounts so that it updates your banking information, you don’t have to wait for the app to refresh itself. There are so many great features that I’m finding and pleased with.

Best saving app ever. I am not a good saver... actually I’m not a saver at all. So when I tried this I was skeptical. After 1 month of use I have saved $140 only putting out $35 a week. I have a savings account that I could do this with but the temptation is too easy to just instantly transfer it to my bank account. This money is tucked away on my app so it’s kinda out of sight out of mind. If I were to ever need it as an emergency it could be transferred within a day. What else I love about the app is it monitors what categories I spend my money on. So for instance last month we ate out a lot. Albert adds up the total spent eating out and it’s really an eye opener if you think it doesn’t add up. It also tells me how much I typically spend at the grocery store and gas... a function I haven’t used yet it is linking my credit cards- which I probably will in the future, just haven’t had the time. Hopefully Albert can help me pay those off as well. Love this app!!!

Still early days but good so far. The app is easy to navigate so far. I just downloaded it about 20 minutes ago and was already approved for a cash advance. I was approved for $50, so it isn’t guaranteed that you’ll get $250 right off the bat. They do advertise *up to* so keep that in mind. Before I accepted the cash advance, there was a chance to “boost” my advance by $5 by checking out car insurance quotes. I’m sure the “boost” options will vary, but I thought that was a cool bonus. Just took an additional minute or so and added another $5 to my cash advance. You can opt out if you want. One downside is that I’m not able to choose the date I repay the advance. I did have to connect my employer’s payroll account, so hopefully the Albert system is accurate and I’ll get paid earlier through Albert. I’m still holding out to see how it fares after the initial introduction. I’ll try to remember to update this review after a few weeks to see how it’s still going.

Terrible app. First problem is you cannot talk to ANYONE on the phone. It’s all text back and forth which is annoying. I downloaded the app then signed up to maybe see if I could get my finances in order but decided after navigating the app I did not want to use it. A few years later I’m cleaning out my phone and go to delete my Albert account so my bank account is not just floating around on an app I no longer have. In order to delete your account you have to withdrawal the money from your account. They sent the $3 for a rainy day fund. I never verified my bank account because I had no plans on using it. That was 3 years ago when I got the micro deposits to verify my account and as you can imagine they are long gone. So with no way to verify my bank account to withdrawal the $3 that I do not want or need I am going (texting) back and forth with someone I still have not been able to successfully delete my account without going through these long unnecessary processes for $3 that I have in my car cup holder in quarters. I understand this is partly my fault but really? All this for $3?

Not what it makes itself to be. Albert is a decent app for advances with qualifying direct deposit. The only negative thing I have to say about Albert is even though it is a regular cash advance at that allows you to receive direct deposits when I disputed the charge on my account Albert closed it immediately with no warning no heads up no nothing close down both my accounts. The only way I was able to receive the money left in my account was due to me having another bank linked to Albert. My light bill was due and I just received not only my paycheck but another advancement app as well. Next thing I know I get a text message from Albert saying my account is closed due to unusual suspicious activity the only thing I did was dispute a charge. This app definitely has horrible customer service, at least chime allows you to call and speak to a human if you choose. They have no sympathy for customers and the criteria changes everyday. In the beginning I liked Albert but they really pulled the blanket over my head in the end.

Good idea but sketchy app. I like the notifications about how much I spent on certain things because I don’t normally pay attention to what I bought or spent on and ended up with huge credit card bills. Text notifications definitely make me more aware of my financial situation. I used to use Penny but it’s gone for good so I am looking for alternatives. I found Albert on Instagram ads(got cyber stalked by Facebook...) and I downloaded today. It asks me to pay for Albert Genius $6 without me even start using the app. I get it that financial advices aren’t free but maybe I need to know what I am paying for?? Investments or advices?? What goal and how good is the gain?? I ignored this my choosing $0. And then I moved on connecting to my banks. It’s a little annoying because I do have several financial institutions (7+) that I need to connect to start with. It’s getting even more annoying and frustrating while I tried couple of times connecting Chase and Discover and still failed, which I already tried logging in on my laptop and succeeded. Anyway, lots of things need to improve for this app. Hope it got fixed soon and I will use it for a while and try it out and probably come back update my review.

Sketchy, with TERRIBLE customer service. I haven’t had this app downloaded in YEARS, and they do not appear in my subscription history with Apple, and yet I noticed a suspicious charge from them to my bank account. I checked to see whether I had any e-mails from them… I had one from over a year ago, which did not acknowledge any active account, or payment history. I redownloaded the app, and there was no subscription information there, or on their website. Let alone acknowledgement of my payment. I contacted support and discovered they have been billing me annually for 3 years. I have received no confirmation e-mails, renewal notices, or receipts, let alone any services from them. In many states, including mine, it is illegal to practice business this way. They dodged several questions, and appeared to barely even read my messages before sending canned responses. They were willing to refund one of the charges, but then went back and forth claiming I would need to link my bank account. Unclear how they billed me, since their app claimed to be unlinked from my payment details. Do not do business with this sham of a company.

Terrible Customer Service. I have been using this app with the subscription for three years, going in four. Every time I log in it tells me they’re raising the fee so I’ve decided to look into what I’m actually paying for. In reality, I only use it to save money for specific goals, which is honestly a great feature of the app. For instance I have a goal for real estate school and a goal for going to Disney. And it automatically takes money from my checking account and distributes it though these savings accounts. You do need the subscription to have individual savings goals as opposed to one “rainy day fund” I will be looking into other ways to accomplish this because I’m sick of giving this company my money. It takes an hour or two for them to answer me and the answer is not related to the question that I ask. So one simple question takes a full day to get an answer. DO NOT PAY FOR THE SERVICE. What are you even paying for? I’ve worked in an online customer support job and the response time and lack of information you provide is absolutely ridiculous.

Beware they will rob your of your hard earned money. I recently reached out for assistance again after trying to update my bank on the app. Which is weird considering I’ve been charged monthly from my new bank account but can’t access any funds on the app due to my old bank still being linked… which I can’t remove 🤦🏽‍♀️😩🤣 After being told over and over and over that I needed to verify my old bank account that was closed 2 years ago In order to access my money I saved ( put on this app for emergency purposes). Come to find out you won’t be speaking with a human at all in any encounter with customer service, text or email. They don’t answer the phone, they don’t listen when you tell them your being charged from your new bank account and they will keep your money. Delete this app if you haven’t already, and contact your bank if you transfer any money onto this app. Beware you can easily invest with stash or Robinhood or webull but do not trust this app or advertisements. Also they will raise the monthly subscription fee after asking you from the beginning what your comfortable actually paying. Class action lawsuit anyone let me check google

Good until you have a problem. I have had an account with Albert since December. Things had been working smoothly and conveniently with them until about 3 weeks ago when I attempted to transfer money from my Albert savings to my Albert cash. The system stopped me and prompted me to verify my external bank account which is backing for the Albert savings (considering it was already verified and linked I don’t know why I had to do this). So I took the necessary steps and was shown a screen on the app that said the security team would review it, which can take 1-2 business days. I thought no problem I can wait a couple days. Well it’s been 3 weeks now and numerous support texts later and the situation hasn’t been taken care of. They have no real support phone number which I wouldn’t complain about, but the text support is 95% generic automated messages. At this point I have no clue if a real person has laid eyes on my account and tried to fix my transfer feature. I’m done with Albert, but they get 2 stars for the ease of use before my problem started.

DO NOT GET THIS!!!. Worst app. Direct Deposit every month but since it is Disability they do not consider deposit so do not qualify for total savings on cash back. Signed on for yearly payments so got $10 bonus. Decided after year to go to monthly payments for service, took forever to switch & they still charge me the year & when I asked to get refund & switch to monthly as requested the $10 bonus from the yr before was deducted. If any problems u will b dealing w/bots & when they finally get around to it a person will tell u to wait 10 days for a pending charge to come off account when it was just a hold for funds availability & the actual charge has already posted so essentially u r charged twice & w/o your money for 10 more days then god only knows how much longer till they figure it out. Plus they will blame on Merchant & refer u to them. Your money should b handled your way, the customer. Avoid, Avoid, AVOID!! In response to their answer, which by the way was what was originally sent to me by their bots. I already spoke w/Merchant twice, they have no hold on my money to cancel. Albert is holding it & blaming Merchant. DO NOT GET THIS APP-Read all reviews!!
