Frustrating. I like the features and ease of use with PayPal Business. However, that is overshadowed by their 21-day holds on paid invoices. Even after my shipments have been delivered, I don't get my money right away. Additionally, my business is exotic pets. Sometimes, circumstances necessitate a delay in shipping or pick up for the well-being of the animal. It's very frustrating and inconvenient. Also, since I am a sole proprietor, my income / business account is mine to use as I please. I sent a "friends and family" loan to a family member. When they paid me back via "friends and family," I had to wait 21 days for that money to be released as well. Seriously!? Why? This needs to be fixed. The sender doesn't even have the option to get the money back with that feature anyway. This is just a dishonest business practice.

Nothing worse than PayPal. NEGATIVE 10 STARS!!!! We have 2 service companies that we operate and we didn’t learn the lesson the 1st time using PayPal to accept CC. For one of the businesses there were other FREE ways to get paid and access those payments immediately and customers were elated because there were no CC fees to pass on to them; so PayPal CC processing was eliminated. Unfortunately in the new company, some people wanted to pay us with a CC and we signed up for PayPal PayPal forgetting how abysmal PayPal is. It is the worst. If you have a service business and can find some other CC processor, do your business a huge favor and use it!!! Stay away from PayPal!!! I’ve read other comments about PayPal holding a payment for 21 days. PayPal claims that this is on the basis that ‘new sellers’ have a higher number of charge backs. Absolute nonsense. Old and new businesses have charge backs. They should pay interest on the money they ‘hold’ as it could have turned over a profit many times for the business owner had they had access to it. Having it sit in PayPal’s account, making money for PayPal, while the business owner waits to get paid for work already completed is ludicrous.

After 20 years disassociating from PayPal. I have used PayPal for 20 years but the last five have been awful. The straw that broke the camels back was when I last used it I paid for voice lessons thru the voice lesson’s portal. Should have been obvious whose side PayPal was going to take, eh? I never received even one lesson because there was so much upselling going on that you were forced to go through just to get the first lesson. Finally, in frustration, I cancelled my subscription and asked for a refund from the company. Refused. So I turned to the source of my funding the subscription and PayPal also refused to refund me. It then took close to four weeks for PayPal to allow me to close my account as it said there was an outstanding claim, even though the resolution center said there was no outstanding claims. Obviously, PayPal thought I would either forget to finish closing my account or I would get over being upset with them. They need all of these empty, unused, accounts to make their numbers look good so clients use the PayPal app on their online stores. PayPal has gone down hill for the commoner and is corporate based, now.

Time to find a PayPal alternative. I’ve been using the same PayPal account for 15+ years, with consistent use in both sales and purchases. Within the last year, new withdraw limits were put in place that have essentially ruined my ability to use this payment platform to make a living. They’ve capped me off at $2,000 a month out of nowhere, and have denied an increase 3 times without reason. You will not get a real person to give you answers, and you will not be able to have trust in this platform ever again. As of ios17 update, this business app is completely broken for most users. Freezes on login, and no functions can be accessed. Just another nail in the coffin for me personally, this company has damaged my livelihood beyond repair this year and I will be actively avoiding it as much as possible in the years to come. Edit: Thanks for fixing your app, now stop destroying small businesses and give us our money! You glossed over my main concern here. Shame on this company. SHAME.

Horrible. As a business owner we decided to give PayPal business a try. We own a plumbing business in North Carolina mainly providing service work. With the lower card fees that pay pal offers when taking debit or credit we were excited at first. However after taking several payments there was a limitation placed on our account we could not even take debit or credit card payments. During this period, as a business owner this is essential to our business to be able to process cards. We provided our license from North Carolina and other documents and after 72 hours the limitations were removed. We think at this time we’re good to go now. Wrong after taking one payment for a plumbing job then we’re told that they are going to place a hold on that payment for 21 days. Unfortunately as a small business we rely on capital to keep the business going as plumbing materials are not cheap. We called customer service several times to get help with the issues and are consistently transferred to a call center in India where there English is less than proficient and were barely able to understand the issues we were having. We will no longer use the services provided by pay pal

PayPal froze my money. After having a PayPal account for probably close to 20 years, they decided to randomly, and without warning, freeze all the money in my account and asked for business and activity verification to release it. This was on a weekend night after working a sale, and trying to drive home, my debit card didn’t work for gas. There was no warning, they just froze all my money, I couldn’t even transfer it to my bank. This type of business practice (more like ransom) should be illegal, there is absolutely no reason for them to do this to one of their longtime merchants who has never had any issues in the past. Be warned, this happened to me, so it can happen to anyone who uses PayPal. Believe me, I will be contacting my legal team first thing Monday, and calling my bank to find better processing options than this horrible company and correct this terrible position they have placed me in.

RUN. App probably works as expected but the customer service here is not worth the “convenience”. Impossible to speak to someone who is not reading off a script. Most of the time you’ll be speaking with the computer/phone tree anyways but if you get lucky enough to get an actual human.. don’t expect any help. Company will randomly decide when your account activity is concerning and will put funds on hold for almost a month— they claim there are ways to get your money sooner.. it’s not true. I mean, I guess I wouldn’t really care if a lost a few ticked off customers either.. they make enough money in fees, and I’m assuming they’ve gotta be earning a NICE amount of interest on all the money they’re withholding from people for no good reason. I’ve had this account for almost three years and can’t access more than $300 a month. Never had any fraud, or disputes on my account.. PayPal has just decided things should be this way and there’s nothing I can do about it. Look into other options.. someone recommended Square, and I think I’m going to check them out. Trust me, at least find a company with decent customer service.. RUN

PayPal the highest fees as a % of money transferred ever. PayPal has become this insipid Payment Servicer that only charges fees and few know or complain. They are getting away with robbery. I am sorry the service may provide a degree of on line security, I really do not know. The day the penetrate PayPal which will be no more difficult then invading Visa the flaw will show and PayPal the middleman will be exposed for what it is. Very little. Visa lends money. PayPal Charges you for putting your visa charge through them. Since PayPal has very little money on hand per account it is so far Immune from the hackers. There will come a day when the Credit Card company's will wake up and realize the cost to self insure versus the cost that PayPal Charges is cheaper and this myth of PayPal will remove another middleman who carves dollars off small transactions. They must regulate Paypal as a lender not just a Servicer as the charges are Bank fees ,just because they lend nothing is no alibi for them to skate by and carve dollars off peoples transactions and hides in the back ground. If I was younger I would develope a system that put PayPal out of business as the provide no service but remove the head aches from Banks that are or have been too slow to catch on..

Not sure what’s up with the new login process. I’ve been a PayPal customer for years and have an outstanding seller rating, then I made a sale last week (early June 2023), and I had to essentially start from scratch. I used to get my payments released when I would ship an item (I collect/buy/sell drums and drum gear), now it’s back to getting my payment released within a week of delivery. I’ve sold hundreds of products through eBay, Reverb, and Facebook marketplace and I get paid upon shipment, just like goods and services used to do. Then one day last week I suddenly had to provide my drivers license along with a picture of myself and wait for them to process and approve it. Not only that, my bank account was somehow unlinked from my PayPal and now I can’t re-link it. My bank comes up in the search, I log in, and it continues to tell me that I need more assistance linking my bank account..?? Then I tried transferring a lousy $12 to my debit card and that was lending for 2 days 🤦‍♂️ Of course you can’t speak to a human, you have to talk to a robot and they’re absolutely useless. I’m just gonna stop doing person-to-person transactions through goods and services. If someone wants to buy my products they can order it from eBay, Reverb, Facebook or issue a direct pay through PayPal. Absolutely no reason to basically have to start from square one as if I’m a new user or something. I’m all for security but this is ridiculous.

PayPal Supports Users Not Merchants. We’re a growing e-com based clothing brand who naturally offers PayPal as a payment option with the intent of offering multiple payment options to customers but we’re on the verge of changing this. The issue is that PayPal is so heavily user focused that they are leaving merchants out to dry. We have very clear refund, return, and exchange policies on our website yet if a customer decides to open a dispute that is untrue such as claiming that they didn’t receive their item - regardless of how much evidence you provide as a merchant that the item was delivered or if you reference your own store policies to support your right to take a position on a particular issue which the customer agreed to by using your website, PayPal ignores you and always sides with the customer and then charges you the merchant. Not only have you lost the cost of the goods that you shipped, you lost the revenue that you should have earned, and you get charged a dispute fee. If this happens a few times (as if it’s not painful enough) PayPal will move you to a higher “dispute fee category” and charge you even more. It’s obviously a revenue generator for them to handle disputes in this manner because it makes PayPal look like a saint to the customer while taking $ from merchants. It’s beyond disappointing, it’s disgraceful. We don’t have this issue with other payment providers, only PayPal.

Terrible Customer Service. As a business owner on Shopify I would’ve expected PayPal to be a great asset for my business however it’s far from that . It took one month for one transaction to process whereas I still have two pending transactions that have not been processed and cannot be found by PayPal. Several phone calls, several callbacks later & I thought that I was finally able to have everything resolved and not even 30 minutes after I hang up with a customer representative I receive an email stating that my account has been permanently disabled. It’s so confusing and frustrating especially not knowing what happened and not doing anything to have caused it but to try and seek help from PayPal themselves which resulted in John being very snippy & not explaining why this happened or provide another solution. It seems to me that PayPal doesn’t care about finding solutions for their customers they just do with the average millennial does & block them. I should’ve known by how much time it took to wait for a transaction to go through that PayPal was unreliable.

Thank god I can turn off PayPal on my website!. Every month my company clears 20k in sales. Every month now, I’ve learned the lesson that if/when my PayPal side of payment options approaches 10k of income, I need to disable PayPal until the following month. Otherwise you’ll be stuck like me, unable to pay recurring monthly debts and if my staff were larger, unable to pay employees. Now whenever sales clear 10k, PayPal holds the remainder for 21 days every month. They say they will release my funds when I show proof of shipping through a standard shipper. Problem is that I don’t and never have sold a physical good. That’s not at all my business model. We’ve made multiple attempts to work through the proper chains at PayPal to explain this and work it out, but apparently now that my company has grown to a point where PayPal can really enjoy the 3% they take from us, they really want to hold onto it. Last month? Nearly 3k in income/sales held. Talk about sweating bullets that I’ll make up MORE income the first half of the following month so I can pay my mortgage. Now that I’m used to PayPal screwing me, I just turn it off and Stripe gets all my sales handling. If it weren’t for the convenience of Working Capital, I’d have no reason whatsoever to keep PayPal around. It’s really going to just be this annoying cat and mouse game until I push my CFO to move us off their platform entirely. So thank you PayPal for pushing me harder into the “arms” of your competitors.

PayPal needs to do better. What’s the point to HAVING to use PayPal business? All you do is charge me way too much in fees!!! I didn’t get charged as much with regular PayPal. PP is most commonly used to sell items from FB or online so we don’t need any extras. You say you offer extras but what’s the point if they aren’t needed and too confusing to use!!! I need a more simplified way to invoice. I have to press too many buttons to add more than one item!!! ( Had to figure this out on my own). Shipping is a real thing PP! Put shipping back where it bel! Not off on some side and hidden under a weird title!!! How about a button that actually says SHIPPING! We click it if we add shipping and type the amount in. Honestly, you need to ask us sellers before making changes! I appreciate the fact that offer this service but you are now too expensive and your invoice is all over the place. Looking for different options!

Completely inconvenient!. I gave this app two stars, because I was able to accept a payment. However, it has been over two weeks since the transactions have taken place, and I still have to wait over another week before my funds are released. I’m sure that somewhere in the fine print, it’s clearly stated why this money is held(it’s due to me opening a new account through PayPal Business), however I needed that money to make my payroll, and I STILL can’t access my money. As soon as the transaction took place, PayPal was SURE to take their service fees instantly, yet I have to wait another ten days before it’s released. I also called PayPal, and I was told that it was best for me to send the money back to the contractor that I received it from, and use another App, like Zele( I now use this app, and I receive my money without charge in approximately ten minutes.). I DO NOT recommend this app!

Unethical Monopoly. Was on the phone for 3 hours and got transferred to "5" different representatives. No one had no idea what the other representative did. It was the most simple issue to do a name change but issue was still not resolved after 3 hours of being on the phone, getting dragged to 5 different place like a dead animal. As the public, we should raise our concerns, rights and voices against unethical giant companies such as paypal. I Just read rest of the reviews in here and understood that PayPal don't really care what customers have to say. Very bad companies. This company is in the top billions with the money they have made from customers like my self. But they have no sympathy or empathy back in return. We should move away from these unhealthy monopolies and should start supporting up coming ethical small business. It used to be big eats the small, but with the new generation smart eats the big.

Unfair chargeback policies. Service oriented businesses risk to lose revenue due to PayPal's unfair chargeback policies. A customer can pay and receive a service, then file a dispute and claim they never received it and will almost always get their money returned to them because PayPal provides you with little means to prove that you provide them with a service. Any funds will be automatically deducted from your account and you will be forced to pay a $20 fee for the chargeback. They will always side with the buyer even if they are committing fraud. This will leave your account negative. So essentially you are losing the service you provided and having to pay back any funds that you were owed. And NO, PayPal will not take into account the fact that fraud is being committed as they are more buyer oriented and less focused on providing protection for your business. Customer service reps are less than helpful. All chargeback decisions are made from a separate department with no direct access for communications. They essentially hide from you by not allowing you to communicate directly with them, make whatever ruling they want on the chargeback, and then limit their customer service reps on how much they can do or communicate to you. I'll be using Square from now on!

Business account. They make it extremely difficult to have your account settled by Shopify to use as a payment provider , they will hold your money and then it becomes extremely difficult to get a hold of right person in customer service to assist you , I’ve had the hardest time to get my accounts back fully active for my business for PayPal as my payment provider and they will tell you it takes 3 days but it took more like 3 weeks exactly and this is extremely frustrating especially if it’s a business account I lost money using PayPal as my payment provider for Shopify , who wants to lose money I’m just saying I promoted and did marketing for my business because PayPal said my account was active and found out my customers could not pay me thanks to PayPal I lost money and keep taking losses from there services it’s not even worth using if you run a business because it’s going to be excuse after excuse from customer service even if you have good standing active account. Not recommended as new business owner using PayPal

JudyPat in Texas. Love the convenience of PayPal when shopping . . . BUT when shopping on eBay, there’s a problem. It’s when PayPal “freezes” my credit cards for no good reason . . .FOR ME. Right as of this minute, I have eBay sellers clamoring for payment due to my two Visa cards being “cards non grata” only to PayPal. I have arrangements with a few fav & frequent sellers that allow me to buy by the month saving me lots of shipping costs. This somehow doesn’t fit PayPal’s algorithm for shopping so my credit cards get “whacked” like PayPal knows everything. These sellers that I’m paying are the top sellers on eBay, by the way. I may have to go to another way besides PayPal, there must be one! Tomorrow I go pick up new cards. PayPal, if you’re reading this, keep your mitts OFF THESE NEW CARDS! Of the two Visa cards I getting replaced, the credit card is the third generation due to your freezing of my card. There was never legitimate concern over the sellers that I was paying. Hear me, PayPal?

3 weeks and I still can’t get payment. I have used PayPal for years in my small business and have enjoyed the flexibility for online and face to face sales. When I started a new private practice it made total sense to use the company I already know and use. Apparently that was a mistake. Although it is set up and I have everything on the surface working. As soon as I try to send an invoice for services I get an error message. After weeks of thinking it’s a set up issue I’m told by PayPal that it’s an internal issue and will be fixed within 24 hours. It’s been a week and it’s still not fixed. In addition I find out that I’m not able to run 2 companies out of PayPal on my device. So even though this new company is completely separate from my other with different services and legal entities PayPal links them because I am the user of both? WTH! I’m told it’s a security feature but why? With all of the layers of security we already have to jump through it seems like PayPal could keep 2 unrelated accounts UNRELATED. Maybe this is a sign that PayPal isn’t my only option and I can find a better payment option for my new business. For now it’s back to physical invoices, checks, and receipts. Thanks for nothing PayPal.

business owners beware. If you own a business and don’t ship they will limit your account and you will fight time after time for limitation after limitation. I have now sent in my federal ein, state paperwork, and county business license and every other document that even the banks don’t ask for 4 times now to be limited 4 times saying they don’t know what my business is. I used there card swiper from them and they still said because I didn’t show tracking info and they didn’t know what my business was. They literally had my tax classification, I had sent it to them 4 times, and time after time after 2 to 5 payments I was limited and funds held. The last time it almost lost my business. Worst company and even banned my personal account because someone can’t figure out how to read what or understand powersports repair business. If you read this stay away far far away. If you risk it good luck make sure as soon as money goes in you withdraw every penny that second because they will keep you from it.

Faithful PayPal user. Omg I have been with PayPal since 2005 and haven’t looked back since. PayPal is easy fast secure and so pleasant to work with. Never in my life have I been so satisfied with one company so much. I have had multiple attempts from crooks in Arizona trying to steal my PayPal debit info and PayPal always seems to amaze me with they’re tactics at catching them before they try to get my funds. This world is terrible at stealing credit card info and seem to find a new way all the time at getting card info without having the actual card in hand, but PayPal always seems to be ahead of them and I am so thankful for that. PayPal is the best online bank and it’s such a pleasure to be a part of everything they do. Thank you PayPal for always keeping me in the loop and keeping my funds secure. Without PayPal omg I would be lost and have to result in using an outside banking source. PayPal is definitely highly trusted and secure and I would recommend PayPal to any and everyone

Will never use this app again unless someone decided to answer the phone.. I’ve used this app for the first time cause it was recommended by a friend with a similar business. I was so excited to use this app and I’ve used PayPal before and it’s super reliable. So I had three clients send me money and each one was posted pending. Then it stated I needed a card on file. Well I have a card on file for the money to go to but I still went through this process. Then it stated they would send me a few cents in two different transactions within the next 2-5 business days. So now I’m waiting even longer to get my money and I don’t send out products until I receive the money. Then I keep calling no answers so I attempt to write to someone over a message system they have and it wasn’t helpful at all. I am supposed to wait 21 days for my money to get into my account or until the client confirms they have their order well of course it doesn’t give them the option to confirm their orders so my money is just chilling with PayPal while I’m needing to pay bills and get more merchandise in I can’t do so with my money being held almost a month. I’ll stick to my Apple Pay and Venmo. Thanks for nothing pay pal.

It’s only good for selling items online. I am electrician and I just wanted to get my clients other ways to pay the invoice so I complete a job for a customer and I invoice them and they choose to pay via PayPal which is fine PayPal charges me a fee to use their service again that is fine or where I have a problem is I have already completed the job it is 100% done and they pay via PayPal I still cannot collect my payments for 7 to 21 business days depending on how PayPal decide to pay out the invoice because PayPal is only structured for selling items online so I have to go into the payment and say that it’s already in the mail even though the job is already done and then I have to contact the customer and tell them to acknowledge that they received the item so if the customer takes time to acknowledge that or if they don’t ever acknowledge it in PayPal then what happens do I have to wait forever or is there a chance that I won’t even get paid so at the end of the day is it worth it for subcontractors to even use this service Any case I’m done using PayPal business unless I’m selling something online as a contractor I don’t believe this is a good platform to use you get charged to use their service and they make you wait to collect money that you should not have to wait for

Simply let a customer steal from me. I am a photographer. I had a client that had paid a “non refundable” deposit, as stated on my website. A couple of days prior to her session I tried to confirm and didn’t hear back, the day prior I tried to confirm again with no response. Finally the day of her session with myself and an assistant in studio I tried once again and let her know we needed to know if she would be coming. Finally about an hour prior to her session she replied she wasn’t coming…something came up. Well, it has been a month or two since then and she just simply went into PayPal and disputed the charge of her non refundable deposit saying “she never received a service and the photographer was rude”. They opened a “case”, took the $100 out of my account, and after sending them ample proof of my deposits being non refundable, decided in her favor and gave her $100 out of my account! Basically, it’s complete theft! I don’t sell “items” I sell my time. I have five children of my own and running a small business already is extremely difficult. I have been with PayPal for about ten years, but after literally letting someone steal from my company. NEVER again. Sellers….do NOT let your customers use PayPal!

Awful! Do not suggest unless you have online business and ship items.. This service was helpful with invoicing and I didn’t mind the charges for processing payments but like many others I have seen the reviews and this app is horrible to get your payment after you have already done the work. I have a laundry service where I pick up wash and then deliver back to the customer. I don’t have any tracking numbers and they said something about customer verifying that they got the package but it took a whole lot of research to try to figure out how to do that from my end to their end and we never accomplished it so my money is on hold for 21 days, and I can’t wait that long for my money to process so I can buy my supplies etc. with this account so I am done with using this I’m waiting for my money to be paid out and I went with the Lili banking app that helps you with your invoices and then just use my regular PayPal, cash app etc. for them to pay for the services. There has to be a better way for service business to be able to use this before I will use it again.

Sellers- do not use!!!!!. I wish I had read the excessive reviews before I decided to make PayPal an option for payments of my services. Again, I provide a service not a product. A very good and long-standing client of my aesthetic business asked me to invoice her for her convenience and I do everything possible to accommodate my clients. I sent an invoice through the app, she paid in full and my account was immediately “restricted “. I uploaded ample proof of my services at PatPal request, the client and I even called PayPal TOGETHER to get them to release the funds to no avail. She even asked to cancel the payment so she could pay me a different way and we were put on hold until we both got frustrated and hung up. Pay Pal is a terrible platform for businesses. Regardless of whether it is a product or service. We still do not have the issue resolved and I have every intention of deleting this account once her money isnt hanging in the balance. And spreading the word.

Simple, a must have. This has been an integral part of my business. It allows me to take all types of payments along with creating a business invoice that I can write detailed descriptions to help show customers not only how much they are paying, but also, what they are paying for. Having this app has actually secured a couple jobs for me, considering credit card was the only option for payment. It also has been essential for my out of town customers that has rental property in the area. I’m able to perform the job, send the invoice, and get payed almost immediately. Once you set the app up to your business and banking, it’s the easiest and fastest way to get your money from a customer paying with a credit/debit card.

Is -12 stars an option. PayPal will do everything they can to keep your money. First with the ridiculously long Initial hold on your funds. Not Necessary. We have to go through everything from providing birthday, full social security numbers copies of government ID is your EIN numbers, copies of your LLC, verification of your bank accounts etc etc. which I knew was part of it. Security overboard. And then finally the big day come when you finally get to access you own money and then BOOM! PayPal restricts access to your funds AGAIN! This time is to somehow prove how you fulfill your orders/inventory. For starters you need MONEY/ FUNDS to procure new inventory. My company purchase pre-owned hospital/ medical equipment for resale at affordable budget friendly costs so I don’t stock multiple CT machines I purchase one and when that’s sold a defibrillator may replace it. But again how can I purchase anything new after I make a sale if I can’t access any funds?? These are the reasons why I chose not to use PayPal for years, but after multiple customer requests I gave in, bad decision. My debit card was supposed to be here almost a week ago, still haven’t received one. Guess the really don’t care about that issue. Not like I would be able to access MY MONEY anyways. Respectfully, Not Surprised

Absolutely not recommending for small business. PayPal fell in favor for a customer who stiffed us for a job and then took $3k from our account and sent it to ACI after we contacted a support specialist and it even said in the originally in our invoice that payment was done on there no refunds. Seriously disappointed in PayPal. Switch all revenue over to get their capital loan at the beginning of the year as well. On top of that they acknowledge that we have unpaid invoices from said customer and they can take from my account. Yet can’t charge their card on file even after they said they would just had to send reminders. Well that was back in July. Still nothing from PayPal. They charged us hundreds in fees if not thousands and for what? Zero support and for them to forward us to collections? The customer had to submit no proof either and we couldn’t get the app to work in their timeframe. Contacted them by phone and they said to do this and that and call them back. Well we did and it didn’t work and then took our money without letting us submit our proof. I need to have someone from PayPal to contact me immediately. Someone who can provide us with a real solution and this so far isn’t fair at all. Right now. I don’t suggest that you should do business with PayPal and can’t trust them. I’m worst off than I ever would’ve been if I had never even bothered going with them.

Glitching fixed. UPDATE: PayPal did in fact email me with apologies and stated they were working hard to resolve the issue and appreciated all patience. I am now updated my review to a 5 star. The APP is working better than before the glitch and i can now send invoices via paypal business app and load tracking with ease! Thanks paypal! Customer Service. PayPal keeps acting weird l need help figuring out a problem managing users I’ve been contacting in message center, and out of now where l start getting this message “Our apologies, but messages are currently unavailable. Please close this window and select another contact option.” I don’t know why I’m getting this I’ve been just trying to get help like normal. Also l called their business phone number but I’m never connected with a realtor person instead a robot. I really don’t like robots especially with customer service calls ugh. I really just need to get it to contact with support to resolve this situation so l can have my Virtual Assistants fulfill orders, the problem is they’re not located in the U.S, but PayPal keeps identifying their region as U.S. but now it’s really hard to get in contact to resolve this issue. I don’t know l thought PayPal would be good for the business, but if this problem can’t be resolved, because PayPal wants to block me when I’m just asking questions l might just have to go use Square or something else. Or just wire tap to pay my suppliers...

Small business stay far way. If I could give them zero stars I would. Where do I even begin . PayPal business practices is a total nightmare. The only good Thing PayPal does it allows you to creat an account then after it has collected your information and you start so called conducting business it all goes down hill ... after you have provided good or service to the buyer there is little to no help from PayPal , al they do is transfer you to a so called call cénter where they are suppose to assist you and give the upmost excuse why they can’t help you ... then place a hold on ur funds because they have yet to confirm tracking number which is provide on the PayPal account . Then proceed to tell to wait 24 hrs till the fund is released which a total lie, then go on to tell you to wait 21 business days till the found are released... how do u expect people to do business if you have this shady practices .... oh an beware if you do a small typeo in your account they won’t even help but do advice to create a new account

Funds Hold. We have been a PayPal customer for a while, in spite of them making money out of all of us they tend to randomly hold your funds. I find this very unfair for my legit business that has been in business for more than 20 years. I understand that from time to time there is credit card fraud, but I find it very unnecessary for them to randomly hold your funds while they’re investigate your transactions. to make things even worse, there’s no live agent or no live representative that you can speak to for any help or assistance. Everything is automated robots and computers, making PayPal company even richer. Based on recent reviews I have seen a lot of people leave PayPal and go to other credit card and online payment portals. unfortunately PayPal has been around for a while and is pretty much everywhere and anywhere. I am hoping that they can fix this in the future and come to a solution with all fraud, scams and bad transaction related sales.

PayPal app vs PayPal the company. I would give a 5 star rating for the app itself not the company! The app was designed for efficiency and is very seamless to use for creating and sending invoices, making transfers, viewing sales trends, etc. However as a new small business, PayPal has truly disappointed me with the fees and funds availability! It’s completely frustrating to call and not reach a representative. Or to message receive a response hours later via the chat. It’s also mind blowing to have my invoices paid and have to wait up to 21 days to have access to the funds. How does that even make sense? The entire point of using PayPal is for efficiency and immediate access to funds. I should accept checks for my business at that rate and it’s likely that those funds would in fact be available sooner than using PayPal. Not to mention, I wouldn’t be charged anything but perhaps a monthly service fee then from my bank.

No more PayPal!!. I set up this business account to collect a one-time rental payment not realizing that PayPal Business charges a fee…I didn’t read the fine print. Then when I tried to accept the money sent to me, I was notified by PayPal that I could not retrieve it & that I could file a dispute. It showed the money ‘pending’ but after one week of tryin, I gave up & called the sender. He then in turn called to get his money refunded & they told him to call me to dispute it. Really?? So I once again called to dispute the claim, letting them know that I was not able to receive money in pending which they couldn’t figure out why -so the rep told me to call the sender to dispute the claim in which I told them he already had but was told by PayPal Business that I had to dispute it!! Omg - so the sender finally was able to dispute money, and after 2 weeks, they are refunding him only to charge ME $30 fee!! I am deleting PayPal Business and personal PayPal accounts after this!!

PayPal takes 21 DAYS to give you your money and takes WAY too much money. I have not had a good experience as a business owner and wouldn’t recommend to use paypal! They take money from your client when it first comes to account and then they take money depositing into your account! They take money TWICE! ON top of that they have 21 day wait period for your cash after taking a substantial amount. Unbelievable! I had a much more reasonable and satisfactory experience with VENMO. 1 time fee with VENMO, no stupid, exaggerated 21 day hold that happens with EVERY TRANSACTION. Not just the first few with PayPal. VEMNO doesn’t double charge, hold your money and is overall a cheaper and better service especially for business owners. I do NOT recommend paypal if you want to see the fruits of your labor anytime soon and how you’re okay with them taking what is about 5-7 % from your total invoice. Is it a huge amount and unreasonable for such an inconvenient service.

Horrible. This app fails to give you all the important details upfront, like not being able to send invoices from your personal paypal, prompting you to HAVE to set up a business account if you want to be paid from your client. But won’t disclose right away how you’ll have to be subject to review for up to 21 days for creating a new account, in order to have access to any money sent to you. If you’re money is on hold, you have to inconveniently ask your client to confirm the amount 48 hours after they pay your invoice and even that doesn’t confirm PayPal will lift a hold. Their customer service department are idiots as well, each and every one I spoke with giving me different pieces of information that mostly turned out to be incorrect, and brought to my attention each time I spoke with a new rep and told them what the last one told me. I will never be using this application/service again nor will I be recommending it to any of my clients/colleagues in the future.

A Positive Experience. I have been using PayPal since 2010. With the exception of the discount feature I have never had an issue. When I draft an invoice for a repeat customer it is easiest to just copy he previous one issued and make changes if necessary. Often times I may need to change or eliminate the discount feature. When doing that, there have been instances where it shows on the page I’ve eliminated the discount, but when it sent out the discount still applies. This causes me to take a little extra time and troubleshoot before I issue the invoice. this may be user error, because I may be doing something wrong, and I just don’t have the patience to figure it out. So apart from that, I have been a loyal subscriber to PayPal for 14 years. I feel it is extremely user-friendly, and the upgrades they make are certainly positive. I love it’s efficiency. The invoicing is easy to follow and understand. The transferring of funds always go off without a hitch, and cancellations and refunds are easily done. I greatly appreciate the sales reports. I truly have no reason to give it less than five stars.

Scam Company. I have contacted your offices several times regarding my account being perma banned for ZERO reason. Was told this was due to my bank account not being immediately updated and this would be resolved. Now I call and they tell me it’s banned and there’s nothing I can do. I made 2 sales both of which have tracking and we’re delivered with no issues. There is nothing illegitimate about my PayPal account and for y’all to say it’s due to “Potential Risk” is absolutely absurd. Apparently your back office people are so brain dead they can’t answer a phone and the liability line are the only ones trained to answer a phone and talk to customers. Never will I recommend PayPal for anyone ever again nor will I do business through this fraud website. Something needs to be fixed in yalls system if you think it’s acceptable to perma ban someone for doing absolutely nothing and trying to start a small business using your platform. Absolute slap in the face and I am appalled by the unhelpful ness of the customer service and the lack of ability to be able to tell the customer why there is “potential risk” in my account. Refuse to talk to customers and refuse to explain your decisions. Scam company

Ridiculous !!!. As the owner of a small remodel/renovation construction business, I offer different ways for my clients to pay through the invoices that I send them. The invoices started offering Paypal as another way to pay, so I opened a Paypal Business account . I already had a personal Paypal account that I transferred funds to the Paypal Business account. Immediately there was a hold put on the funds because Paypal said I was new several days passed and the hold was not taken off on the day Paypal said it would. I contacted through the chat option, customer service and was told there were a number things I needed to do for the hold to be taken off. I tried to resolve the areas Paypal said that I needed to do, several attempts. Every time I tried to resolve these areas, I received an error message and to try again later. Here I am several weeks later and the hold is still on the funds. RIDICULOUS ! If I could give Paypal 0 stars I would!

Starting a business? Look elsewhere.. First transaction funds held for 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21 days. PayPal will never see a dime of my money ever again. Coming or going. Assuming a business has to have a shipping tracking number is arrogant and small. Service business? Run. Sending a bill for time wasted filling out the business app, waiting for the business card, and setting up my QuickBooks financials with PayPal. Update- No response from PayPal after multiple attempts to contact and many days of waiting. Just saw EBay dropped PayPal and won’t allow PayPal transactions any longer. They are dropping them because customers have a terrible experience with PayPal, customers and sellers can’t control the transactions at all, and PayPal charges a premium price for terrible service. PayPal’s bones will be discovered among the bones of other internet dinosaurs such as Alta vista, AOL, and geocites. You because more cumbersome and unresponsive. While the rest of the world dumped dial up speeds you made people wait and wait and wait for service and even their money and for that you will go extinct.

DO NOT USE THIS APP. This business app does not let you update your business info. It will show your personal info (name, email, etc) on the app, but then when you send invoices, the invoice will have your business info on it. You will not be able to see the business info until AFTER you send the invoice. So if you need to change your business info, you have to do it in PayPal in a browser, which defeats the whole point of using the business app. So basically if you have frequent changes to your business info, this app is not for you. And if you don’t have frequent changes, keep in mind that you WON’T BE ABLE TO CHECK YOUR BUSINESS INFO until after you send the invoice. Additionally, customer service completely lacks knowledge of this app. If you call them about any problems, they will tell you to use PayPal in a browser because it should work there. I don’t know why PayPal bothered to release this app when even their customer agents are saying to not use it.

Can’t be mad when they have a great product. The ease and convenience of this app brought me back from being a dissatisfied and angry customer who cut all ties with PayPal after they found in favor of my customer that SIGNED for a package they said was never received costing me $400 (I threatened suit and customer eventually paid). But I was done with PayPal. Eh, not so much. Tried other invoicing apps that didn’t have the flexibility of PP’s, nor the variety of reports and sorting information available. Besides PayPal has become a trusted name in practically every household so even Grandma has used it at one time or another. Love the “partial payment” option so clients can opt to pay some now, some later, or allowing them to pay a deposit without you having to do anything. Great app. One wish- need a report that shows per quarter, taxable items sold, non taxable, and sales tax collected.

Too much AI. I now use Square , PayPal, Venmo, Zelle My preference us always Zelle because it’s direct with my bank and PayPal can talk to a real person if needed with a problem. My next choice us Venmo , PayPal, then Square. Square constantly changes their format and do there us something new to learn everytime I open it. If there is a problem with PayPal - good luck- it will probably take months to correct, you’ll never talk to a person and you’ll spend an hour figuring g out how to even report your problem. Venmo seems easier but haven’t had to deal with a problem yet. Today a duplicate payment went to Michael’s with PayPal. Was trying to get in on a sake and instead ended up paying twice. While it was still pending , tried to correct with PayPal. Gave no idea if it was corrected or not.

The downfall of PayPal.. I don’t recognize this company anymore, before the split with eBay I could get PayPal on the telephone now I can’t even get them to respond on the Internet they don’t answer telephones anymore. Their first excuse for not having phone service was to blame it all on Covet 19, now they just tell you to go to there website well I’m on their app and engage with a person I think, and that person never answers my first question or any questions. I have money tied up with this mess PayPal has become, an embarrassment I can’t find the money that’s been sent to my company account which means I can’t transfer it into my business account and I don’t have an answer for the company that sends me money monthly because I can’t get anything answered from PayPal. I will call that company in Chicago and let them know to skip PayPal and send me a check PayPal has left me with no other choice 4 1/2 weeks is a long time to wait for your hard-earned money I ran dozens and dozens and thousands of dollars through PayPal and eBay a year ago but. PayPal takes good care of their merchants!. I had an issue with a scammer on my store who claimed she didn’t get her package when the tracking showed she did, she filed for a return and actually got the package for free and the money as PayPal ruled in her favor and that’s because I forgot to put in the tracking number on the PayPal account. Once I added the tracking than called PayPal they reversed the ruling in my favor and explained how they will always protect their sellers from scammers like this and even gave me an additional $10 for the inconvenience . I love PayPal for that I’ll and will also use them no matter what I’m doing, I’m so glad I run my business with PayPal as my main account provider for payments.

They’re all the same. It’s just business. Yes PayPal has a crazy chargeback policy but it’s becoming the standard. I had an issue as well initially but we came to a happy medium and in the instance there was an issue I can call and have the funds released. I’ve been with PayPal six years and process over 100k annually. My only issue is that my account was treated as a new account once policies updated. Even my working cap was lower this round when I actually grossed more in the previous 90 days than same time last year. We’re all about the bottom line and that’s okay. Just find what’s best for you but I highly doubt anything reputable and sustainable will be free or instant, chargebacks were the issue. People transferring funds and not providing good service to their customers and not taking accountability. I’d love to see more incentives for clients that have good longstanding relationships.

Reliable. I have been using PayPal as my payment processor since 2018. I find it reliable, efficient and easy. I have not had an issue with payments, or bank transfers. I find I save money compared to other charge fees. I do wish they offered more features like Square does. I though through the years they would expand their services but I don’t feel like that is their goal. I use this software and processing along with a separate paid online scheduler. It would be nice if they would transmit their data to IRS direct for taxes like Square does. But I have had so so feedback from friends with Square as well. I guess it is what us best for you.

Good. Nowadays I feel as though every app should be able to perform phenomenally and have all the same everything that their website has I mean otherwise why the heck are we paying over $1000 for a computer in our pocket if the apps that it run can’t deliver peak performance as well as full scale. PayPal wants your small business to fail. Set up a Shopify account and it automatically helps you connect your PayPal acct. I’ve had PayPal for ages and now all of a sudden I need to be verified? 21 days my money needs to be held. How am I supposed to make turn around when you’re holding my money? If you need profits to make more product, PayPal will make sure your business sinks because you will be an unreliable retailer. I have needed more supplies and I’ve already lost sales since I can’t keep up with demand. I ought to go after PayPal and make them pay me for every lost sale since they don’t inform you before you set up your business account. ITS A TRAP DONT DO IT UPDATE: PayPal reached out to me after posting this saying that I need to read their help center crap. I did. Which is how I knew it was 21 days. That it could be held even longer. Their response was rude and arrogant. “Reach out for help” their help sites do nothing but spin you in circles. They saw my complaint and still didn’t want to help. I stand by what I originally stated. PayPal are thieves, and they WANT to see YOUR business fail. No other bank or payment source acts the way they do. I’d pay 50% to another company as a transaction fee over working with PayPal any day. Good thing other companies are only 1%.

Multiple business account support needed. App works fine but if you have multiple businesses and therefore multiple business accounts, you can’t access all business accounts at once in the app. You need to login to each business account separately. Very annoying.

Not recommended. We have had to use PayPal as an option for payments for our customers who don’t have credit cards. Can’t ever log into the website on either my computer or phone. Everything verified, yet they still withhold payments to us for 21 days. Fees per transaction as ridiculous also.

Great app but payment system average. The app has great features but unfortunately the payment system is very difficult for my clients to use…it was soooo much better when you had the POS card reader. I now have to chase up invoices and help my clients with payments as it is too confusing for them. I also cannot create canned products any more so any tiny changes in product have to be entered separately…you used to have a better system where variables could be selected. I have been using this app exclusively for my business for many years but am now having to change providers due to these problems.

Issue resolution extremely poor process. It was like my resolution ticket was automated and they didn’t read any of the comments or look at the tracking information. Tick and flick. Won’t use again for business or personal use.

Annoying and buggy. Not a good user experience, doesn’t retain settings, I set it to enable face id login, works for a few days and then reverts to password, when using the password I then have to do multiple security checks and picture checks but doesn’t show the full picture on screen. The app is just annoying to use

Clunky at best. Sending and receiving funds is fine. If you can get signed in. Most times it gets stuck in a loop of your signed in, you’re not, Face ID, sign in, you’re not signed in, Face ID, bot check and repeat three to four times. This behaviour has been going on for the last couple years.

Withdraw to bank account does not work. Good app, but this feature has never worked for me. You enter the amount to withdraw, and then the page continually loads - you never get to select the account to withdraw it to.

Great app - works just how I need it to.. For my small business, this app is an instant invoice as I am able to document everything thing that I do. No dramas transferring money into my account. It is there almost instantaneously. Would highly recommend this app.

Going backwards. Good functionality on the app is being taken away - the simple analytics that used to be available (daily and periodic sales tracking) have vanished in most recent updates. Why? Why take away user functionality? Would have given it a 4 star review three weeks ago but instead of being able to look at periodic performance the app is now pushing working capital loans. Less about the end user and more about PayPal driving extra revenue is not progress

Changing cards is hard and no dates of transactions. Though in theory you can change your cards and accounts, in practice you cannot. I’ve tried on three occasions to remove an old card and it won’t let me. It also doesn’t allow me to elect the new card or account as the preferred payment option. As a result, since changing banks my accounts that rely on direct debit all my accounts are unpaid and I am having to call them to make credit card payments over the phone. Paypal should make changing banks easier since you should only have to change the card attached to the one account. Transactions are not displayed with dates also so every transaction has to be cross referenced with the paying account to get dates which is poor for bookkeeping purposes.

App no longer logs on iPhone iOS 15.. The mobile app stopped working on the iPhone iOS 15. Issue: The login screen now brings up the 2FA page and the “I’m not a robot” page, but then hangs with a blank white page with only a a couple of light grey header and footer icons. (Prior to the latest app update the blank screen was prior to the 2FA screen rendering) This happens in both the PayPal apps. PayPal Support desk: I have contacted PayPal support who told me to re-install the iOS app. This did not fix the problem. They could not offer further assistance, hence this communication via feedback. Account: The Paypal account is operating and can be accessed via web browser on a computer.

Stupid 21 days payment rule. I used PAYPAL business for one day only and I’m still waiting for over $1000 from that day,,, by now I’m pass overdue to pay my suppliers invoices .. I’ve removed it from my online food ordering store and now I use stripe which is simpler cheaper and immediate, i will never enable PAYPAL business never again!

PayPal Mobile Apps are Very Poor. Since upgrading the PayPal Mobile Apps. PayPal Here fails to load, can’t change or upgrade a PIN. PayPal Business loses attached bank accounts and can’t change or update PIN. Speaking to customer service is a stonewall and technical service takes two weeks to respond and fails to reply or fix issues. Such a disappointing experience.

Do not do business with PayPal. It has happened two times one $1600 AUD and second $3600 AUD of sales on eBay through PayPal. At both of them the PayPal unfairly refund the customer the amount with his commission that has been taken from me initially (Double cut). Also I have clearly mentioned in my advertising that the customer has to pay for the custom and clearance of the item in his country, however it has happened several times that because they Saw that the fee are high and refuse to pay and get the item and refer the case to PayPal and ask for full refund. In both cases PayPal unfairly fully refunded them. And I didn't get the item backe. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PAYPAL.

Can not receive my payments. Payments are not coming through, cards keep coming up declined, And will not refund me for payments that have been made when subscriptions were cancelled

Can’t withdraw into bank account. Awesome app so helpful!! The only thing is I can’t withdraw anything into savings and payments are put on hold a lot. Very confused with the new update? Putting account on hold for not reason? Useful app if your willing to put up with the bits and bobs.

Cannot transfer to bank account within the app?. Previously used the app to transfer money into my bank account. Was working fine. Now all of sudden the option is taken away so I have to login through safari to transfer. Can you please update the app to bring back this functionality.

Great & Necessary. We’ve found PayPal to be more beneficial and helpful than our banks have ever been. The app is good. Obviously there is room for improvement, but overall does the job.

Can’t withdraw my money. A customer has paid me through this for the first time and I have been unable to withdraw it. I linked a bank card which shows up in cards but it will not allow me to choose my card in the transfer money part. It has been holding my funds for over 2 weeks now

Easy, fast and secure way to send invoices. I love that I can create invoices on the go for custom orders outside of my online store. It’s also great for invoicing for services as well as products.

A wide variety of helpful advice and action by PayPal. The title says it all. Every time I have called or looked at a situation on line that I had some concern about, PayPal staff’s courtesy and professionalism in customer service has been evident and always when merited with good news but when my fault in whatever way, equally well handled confirmation of my concerns and in that sense bad news.

Bad for business. I am using for 2 years PayPal for my business and it is the second time they are holding my money for no reason at all, when I asked them they had no solid excuse so I told them to escalate my case, so the back office as they call it told me that I had to many refunds which they either lied to me or they don’t know what is going on, I told them that is not true and to prove you I attached the refunds and frauds from when my business has started with PayPal and that is a total of zero, still I haven’t received a solid answer.

Couldn’t access my funds. Tried using PayPal as a business so customers could pay using credit card. They held my first payment for 21 days. Thousands tied up I couldn’t access. I tried another app and had money in my bank account within 24 hours of customer making payment. Also fees were cheaper elsewhere.

Great App. Really happy with this app, wish I could preview my invoice on it and transfer the money straight to bank account. I have set up bank account but am redirected to the site when I want to withdraw

Due to having no tracking, sold my item $160 to a customer, customer started a dispute claiming she hasn’t received her item everyday, until she received she stopped replying to close dispute, while my account was on hold, Paypal did nothing to contact the buyer and in the end i got ripped of, she got her items plus my money, Thank you paypal i will never sale again on Paypal and thanks Paypal for wasting my time on the phone call & emails. Becarefull paypal is safe for buyers but not sellers were not protected. If i could give no star i would!?!?

Constantly logs out constantly asks to reset password. Logs out constantly Requests user to reset password like every second week EVERY SINGLE TIME A PAYMENT IS MADE: the app requests the password to be changed then proceeds to mandatory security check for phone number, email and credit card number. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Beyond frustrating. Spend more time re-authenticating then accepting or making payments. Leaves customers waiting with every sale. Simply can’t use it in our business anymore, plus with everyone else having trouble with it no body trusts PayPal anymore. Now use merchant payments with our bank. Over the last 4 months with them we have had zero problems - not a single issue accepting or receiving payments. Compared to PayPal over the four months before that we had almost 70 issues with payments not going through in a timely manner simply due to the constant requests for re-verification. Twice I had to provide my passport and license for ID checks with a time of about 7 weeks between the two instances. A useless system. Several years ago PayPal was the way to go. Sadly this is no longer the case. Good bye PayPal goodbye headaches.

Please make an iPad App. Great app for my phone, have recently been using the business working capital and has helped me get off the ground with my sales. Can’t withdraw funds to account using the app!. Great app, I couldn’t fault it except that you cannot withdraw funds using it! I have attempted many times and it just prompts you to add a bank account, which I have had linked since opening the PayPal account. The app directs you to the PayPal website to add the bank account, where it then says - it’s already linked. This app would be 10/10 if this option was available to myself as a merchant!

Can’t withdraw hard earned funds!. Good concept but potential to send a small Business broke! I have funds sitting there that I cannot access but fees have already been taken out by PayPal! Have spoken to PayPal and issue still not resolved. Should have gone with a tile!!!

User friendly service!. User friendly & safe for international orders. Easy use and most of all saving us the extra ‘conversion fees’ banks love to charge.

Business App. The app is good, easy navigation which makes it user friendly. All basics needed to check what you need.. Recently added PayPal as payment option on my website so time will tell how the rest goes

Holding back payments. I don’t like how you hold back payments for 21 days. I applied, and was granted an increase in my payments amounts before funds were put in hold. This increase was not applied and my funds are on hold still. I will be using a different system to collect funds on invoiced products. I cannot afford to have my funds on hold for 21 days.

Apparently trouble at the other end.. Client couldn’t pay me from their PayPal account. Had trouble accessing my email address to make payment. They had to use someone else’s account. I haven’t tried to access my payment yet. I have only received it now, so I will see. I have had no problems since I overcame the learning curve of using PayPal which once understood I think it is great. If PayPal works as it is intended it is a useful tool for me. So Thanks

Useless. Had PayPal for over 15 years. Now they keep my money as (in case of refunds) but $2700 for refunds and I can’t access it until 180 days. I would say PayPal is the most useless form of paying now ever. I never leave reviews but this time has to be done! Use another form of payment… from a very long term user.

Has become glitchy. My sales analytics have disappeared?! Also, when I mark an item as shipped it doesn’t remove from the “ready to ship” list.. makes it impossible to see outstanding orders now

Quite poor company and app. Really expensive exchange rates. Really expensive payment gateway fees to use this app. Seller protection has problems, seems like PayPal is looking for too many reasons to void this insurance. Face ID doesn’t work on the app. My team members on this account, multiple log ins set up on this account as per PayPal’s instructions always has problems logging into the account. Only reason we keep this app is because we have some customers that prefer to use it.

Why get rid of the dates??. Used to be a useful app to keep track of how many transactions occurred each day, until the last update where for some reason they decided to get rid of displaying the dates of any of the transactions! Why??

Unable to login. I get a white screen after entering my email and password. It seems the switch to have the login as a web view is a terrible idea. I’ve had nothing but issues since it was implemented.

Customer service or customer satisfaction is the least Priority. All they care about is your Subscription and commission fees. They care less about customer or their service. Your fund will be hold for a long time

Absolutely the best!. First let me say, the complainers have not (based on their reviews) taken the time to read or navigate around THEIR account for different options, like increasing their limits. I admin a huge successful fb buy sell group and this exact issue was a shared by many. Within hours they were back up and running after the one adjustment. Pretty simple go to your account switch limits. Voila done. Ok so the app itself is clear and convenient, easy to use. The protection is second to none, if you are running a business and not using pp you are at risk. The customer service has always answered my questions.

Don’t even think of using this service. The first time I made a sale, PayPal detected a change in my account (whoa! I made a sale!) and decided it was a security concern. Now they are not releasing my money to me for SIX MONTHS, unless I provide totally irrelevant information to them like my Canada Pension Plan statements. Naturally I am no longer accepting PayPal. How they expect anyone to run their business without cash flow is beyond me. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!

Let’s scammers into your account.. Had next to no issues till recently my account got hacked and bank account was switched. $700 got transferred to that account and PayPal refuses to refund this. Absolutely heartbreaking to loose that much. They told me “it successfully accepted so it was out of their hands, and that it was my job to take it up the scammers bank”!! What?? That’s not even possible for me to do. Very upsetting. I wish I had another option to run my business from Canada to to USA. Huge fail PayPal.

This platform needs to be updated. Horrible support - and the holds are rediculous. How u expect business owners to wait 20 plus days for a payment while the customer needs the product shipped. Fix your system.

Not in Canada?. I’m in Canada and I can’t log in :-( I’ve been using it for the past 3 years, has anything changed recently? This is the error I’m getting: “We weren't able to log you in. App simple, service is extortion. Big deal. Simple app. 5% fee is extortionate compounded by 21 day hold on funds. Much better options out there.

Money on hold. If you can afford to wait 4 weeks to be able to receive your funds, PayPal could be for you in 2022!

Horrible practices and customer service. They are the worst I had to deal with , transfer after transfer just to get hung up upon. Totally arbitrary decisions, banned for six months with no explanation, after numerous tries with customer service, even though I tried giving them more documentation to support my account they just refused and freezes my funds. Do yourself a favour and find another method for your business.

Logging in with two factor continues to be an issue. It is absolutely mind-boggling how this app continues to have login issues when you turn on two factor authentication even with a brand new iPhone and the latest updates. Such a basic usability issue that has been ongoing for months.

Owner. I’ve been with PayPal a long time. We sell training courses. Payment has been very difficult with PayPal. Asking if the product has been sent. I tell the support team over & over the purchaser took a education course. Why is the support in the Philippines and PayPal is doing business in Canada. There is actually no support for Canadians. Never get a clear answer from PayPal. Keep asking about products been shipped.

No idea what is the logic on some of the actions. Hard to understand the business logic behind some requirements and app pushes everything to web. And logging into web from mobile device is buggy.

Great!. Not sure why others having issues, I’ve had none. I had a customer who requested to pay their invoice with a points credit card, this app is by far the easiest (and cheapest) way to do so. All fees are as indicated by paypal, no more no less. 3% fee is standard with any credit card payment so not sure why other reviewers think this is outrageous. Its way better than paying hundreds of dollars for a device to accept credit cards plus the standard 3%. Transfers from paypal to bank acct are free and take about 2 days.

As the app gets older, the more bugs it gets. Sales insights no longer work, and Face ID hardly works anymore. Invoicing with individual item discounts is also not possible.

Things were smooth in the past , but the last 2 transactions were terrible, they hold the money for 21 days, and then they put my last transaction into review for the remaining balance, did not release it yet, and I almost lost one of my important customers. Completely broken. The app seems to be completely unusable now—it freezes on the account overview screen. Tried reinstalling multiple times on 13 Pro Max with latest iOS.

Horrible!😡. I have been using PayPal for many years for purchases and the first time a customer uses it to pay me, my account gets frozen. I provided them with everything they needed to complete the transaction including a signed copy of the customer’s invoice, and they still wouldn’t release MY money. Forced currency conversion problems. I have my business in Canada. My revenue and expenses are in US dollars. Paypal forces me to convert my revenue into Canadian dollars. I then have to convert it back to US dollars to pay for services I buy. This costs me about 8% which is a complete waste of money. I hope Paypal gives business owners the choice to withdraw their revenue in US dollars.

Worst for a micro business!. You sell a $50 necklace, your account immediately gets restricted and you are asked tons of questions about “what you sold, what your business is about” all bills you pay monthly gets on hold & restricted, then paypal finally decides you are a “potential risky business” and permanently limits your account. Your brand is the most undesirable, unsupportive service for businesses. You are a disgrace!

Terrible Customer Service. I’ve had a personal and now a business account and since I’m receiving payments PayPal decides to limit my account due to POTENTIAL FRAUD?? I’ve had to jump through hoops get fed by a CSR and a Manager who’s supposedly a seller, that they understand my frustration but we’re going to pass it on to the next person and basically not assist at all. How does PayPal expect a small business to thrive and survive when they won’t even give access to the money that their customers gave them? There’s nothing worse than to look incompetent to a customer PayPal is making me and my business look that way I’m very unhappy with the way I’ve been treated this past several days with lie after lie. Please adjust your algorithm so other small businesses like myself will never have to go through this situation I’ve never once had a bad check I have never once had a bad review about me!

Very helpful but needs a couple of improvements. The app is very convenient. I will continue to use it. I only wish that it had a landscape view. I use it on my iPad with an attached keyboard and not a phone so the portrait view is uncomfortable to use while typing on keyboard that is made for the landscape view. Also, I would like to be able to send receipts from this app. I have to toggle to the other PP app to send a receipt for clients that have paid their invoices. Additionally, having the opportunity to see which invoices had receipts sent to for would also be helpful for tracking purposes all in one place.

LLove it but need the pay by check or check deposit back in. I have been using PayPal for 30+ years. I live the night Ike improvements. The onky thing I would like is to see the deposit check or pay by check feature back. I used to use it all the time. PayPal I use for small clubs and programs. Like a class reunion. A yearly and monthly sale. But I have a few clients or supporters for programs who send checks and all of a sudden cannot 1. Add cash at store 2. Deposit a check or use pay by check online. That feature now gone with new version has about $1000+ dollars sitting here in personal, club and business checks.

I love this app!. Every bank has its issues but I haven’t had ANY with PayPal Business. It’s like I have my own personal accountants & I love the mobile pay option that allows me to take customer payments right on the spot for goods or services in real time. & using it for rental cars is a breeze & you don’t even have to pay the security deposit that’s required when using almost every other debit card out here. & even when using regular PayPal debit app if you somehow get overdrawn there are no late fees for it just add money as soon as you can & keep using it. What’s better than this app? Nothing that I have been able to find.

PayPal business is a scam. PayPal for businesses is a scam. I opened an LLC doing consulting work for businesses and I started to bank with PayPal business because I thought the invoicing feature was cool but it looked complicated. Instead I went with Found Business Banking. Months later someone shows me how to use PayPal Business Banking so I started using PayPal and now PayPal is holding my funds after I hit a certain threshold… They say this is a “Standard business practice” but no other bank would cripple a business by saying they cant access their own money for 3 weeks. I get it though… PayPal offers businesses working capital… so they need to hold onto my money for 3 weeks to lend it to someone else without saying anything. Im never going to bank with PayPal again.

Beyond grateful for PayPal!. Paypal is my only debit card or anything that gives me cash back!!! It’s only 1% but that’s something!!! I make around $50/mo! It also ALWAYS works when you run a transaction!!! Even with a zero dollar balance every transaction goes through! I can attach it to all my accounts that need automatic payments and not worry if it will go through or not. If I didn’t have enough money in my connected bank account to cover the PayPal purchase, I have a whole business day to get money in there. I love PayPal! Wouldn’t be in business without it!!

Severe issue compromising your privacy. I can’t believe that these guys still haven’t fixed the automatic sign out. For safety reasons, this needs to time out after perhaps 1-3 minutes of no activity. However, it doesn’t. It attempts to, freezes, leaves your private information available for anybody to see. This is not allowed for banking and money handling institutions. The app freezes, doesn’t log out properly, and that’s an ONGOING issue for over a year with this app. You better remember to sign out or the app freezes and crashes leaving it compromised and anyone picking your phone can see your balance and your info it’s frozen on. If it happens to not show it it still remains stuck with the PayPal P there and a circle of death that rotates indefinitely. You then have to delete the app and re-install it. These guys are Shameful to still not fix this!!!

Honestly terrible compared to other options. I set up a PayPal business account and a stripe account. Stripe was like “hey give me a bank to transfer these funds into then you’re set.” PayPal has made me spend hours submitting documents and giving them information on my company and won’t release any funds until they sort through it. It wouldn’t be so bad if the app actually worked and it would open the camera I allowed it access to in order to upload documents. I’m honestly baffled at the difference in the level of information needed from these two accounts and after I get my money out of the PayPal account I’m closing it and not offering it as an option on my website. I’ve used personal PayPal for 10 years and figured the business account would be a simple addition but it’s worthless.

PayPal holding my money hostage. I use, correction, used to use PayPal for accepting rare credit card payments for my local business. The vast majority of my customers pay by check when invoiced. On the rare occasion I need to process a credit card I used PP. They would only allow me $360 of my own money in a month and release the rest 21 days into the next month. I don’t and never have used PP to sell anything. I am a service business. No virtual products or store. I have explained this to them time and again. Never had a charge back or any other issue with any transaction in several years. Lately the seem to continually dream up reasons to hold my money for what amounts to 60 days (while making interest on it, times God knows how many others being done the same way) before releasing an unjustified hold. I no longer have the patience for this. I’m done with PayPal for Business.

Trustworthy. I’ve been with PayPal now since 2015 It’s not so bad. I use it because it’s trustworthy for payments to me from my clients. However I did have a chargeback on my account once that was not fair, due to a client agreeing to my policies before booking. However PayPal refunded them anyway. If it ever happens again I’ll be completely done with them. Other than that incident, I’ve been satisfied with them and how I’m able to receive my money whenever I need to. Hopefully it upgrades a bit more and we can receive bank routing numbers, and other perks etc. and possibly the option to charge customers the fees or have it split between the client and business owner. I don’t know, just suggestions.

Small business beware. I opened my account for my business and it was all going well until I received a payment through PayPal. My payment is currently on hold due to them at first stating that they didn’t know what my business was. I’m like my website is even included with my business information, sent all requested documents and then was told that my money would be on hold for 21 days. I have no chargebacks, complaints nor returns. Them holding payments prevents small businesses from being able to do things for their business especially when large amounts are being held. I should have looked at reviews and horror stories prior to opening an account with them. Once my money clears or if it does this will no longer be a payment option on my site because it is just not worth it. Would not recommend.

Not for Merchants.. PayPal is an okay service for peer to peer transactions. This is not a service you want to use if you are a business owner, small or large. There is a reason businesses are suspending their partnership with PayPal, because it’s absolutely terrible for merchants. PayPal makes it difficult for NEW accounts to process transactions, with their constant limitations. Your account must be in excellent standing and have a good history. You might as well just purchase an account from the deep web because for a new business this is very difficult. PayPal provides no tools for merchants to filter out risky payments, there is no chargeback protection, and anyone can terminate your account by spamming chargebacks. Yes this is right, some kid in their moms basement can literally take down a multi million dollar company’s ability to process payments with PayPal. PayPal refuses to understand and cooperate with the merchant, they will never tell you what a problem is with your account. If your account gets limited they will hold your money for 180 days, and not rerun it, they will claim it’s for “damages”. One of their employees confessed to me that PayPal only cares about the bottom dollar. PayPal has become a rare payment method on websites, perhaps my review will help explain why, if you’re a business owner, stay away.

App is great but it’s Paypal. ...and Paypal doesn’t honor their own invoicing sibling. So money I invoice clients for work performed 1) gets flagged as needing to ship despite the invoice clearly showing it’s not a physical good sold, 2) gets flagged as some kind of foreign drug transaction, probably because Paypal hires third world deadbeats who see drugs as their only option in life, or 3) some kind of arms deal, because it wouldn’t make sense to invoice a client for hours worked with an invoicing app, right? Idiots. Just idiots. Nothing short of total idiots. Conceived by idiots. Programmed by idiots. Managed by idiots. Just complete idiots. And GIGO. The whole Paypal infrastructure is gigo. They should be banned from Apple products for being so horribly stupid, which is a direct violation of Apple’s Rule #1: No Stupid Idiots. What? It’s in the operations manual. Would I lie? Well, maybe as much as Paypal lies. That’s fair right?

Fees Charge Backs Disputes. Very disappointed ! There has the be a better process when investigating a claim. My customer advised her bank she was unaware of a PayPal charge that appeared on her bank statement. If PayPal would had the biz name versus just PayPal the customer wouldn’t have disputed the charges in addition If they actually have a contact to verify the vendor(me) it would have been resolved. Now my account is in the negative till they can resolve the issue in addition since it was a dispute I was charged $15 fee for the charge back. I think they should investigate first and get all information on both sides before just withdrawing the funds applying fees.

Worse customer service ever.. I’m a relatively new to this business thing. I was influenced to used PayPal for invoices and sending and receiving payments. However my experience with PayPal has been a real pain. When my customers send their payments, PayPal insists on holding my payments until my customers confirm receipt...even with tracking, it takes a week or sometimes more for them to release my money. However, they take out their fees immediately. I don’t understand why they insist on holding my money so long. Not happy with your service. I can’t do business if you keep holding my money. Customer service only reads the same message over and over. No help. Review update. Finally found an agent to help me. I have hope now dealing with PayPal. We will see what happens now.

Little to no customer service. Of all the things holding my business back from growing, Paypal is the number one thing. Despite being a customer over six months with no complaints or refunds, I still have account limitations, which places a ridiculous up to three weeks hold on my funds. When those funds are released they count towards my next months limitations also. Going to the website to get support is hair pulling. The so-called customer support is basically an AI chat bot, and the community forum chat is nothing more than a subreddit group answered by 15 year olds, based on their condescending, unprofessional, and rude comments. Not even sure if the “advisors “are actually Paypal employees, or just help for hire.

Lock and unlock on credit card. The app needs an easy button that you can lock and unlock your PayPal MasterCard credit card. Last year the card got clone twice in this year once already we would like the ability to be able to lock and unlock just like we do in our all our other cards from banks PayPal takes care of the refund and they send you a new card out right away but it is a pain to have to deal with this if we are able to lock the card and unlock it easy from the app we would not have these issues If you’re going to have this function have it on personal app in the business app as well

The only reason I gave 1 star is because there wasn’t any negative numbers. Setup an account over two weeks ago at the request of a client in order to be paid expeditiously...set up the account invoiced the client and was paid immediately...here’s the thing 1. Paypal immediately took out $60 for a “processing fee” and placed a hold on the remaining amount giving varying excuses, the payer reported the payment as fraud, we placed a hold to make sure the product was received ok, it’s a security feature to protect you, yadda yadda yadda...then I was apologized to and told the hold would be released...when I went to withdraw the money I got a message that it would be on hold for 72hrs for review...waited 72hrs went to withdraw money and got the same message 72hrs for review them it happened again...almost 2 weeks later I’m still without my money less the fee Paypal took out...

Online Crafting Business. PayPal has helped my business in many ways. I am able to send invoices and receive payments all electronically. I like how PayPal also keeps good records for me. This helps when doing my taxes. While I know that PayPal needs to receive fees for their services, I think the fees are a little high. My business is online. Sometimes there is no shipping involved. PayPal sometimes places a 21 day hold on my money unless shipping information is provided. When there is no shipping, then I can’t give that info. There should be a way to have this money released sooner. I have tried numerous times to get help with adding money from my linked bank account to my PayPal account. I still don’t have the help. I am wanted to make some payments using PayPal and need to add money. For the most part, I like using PayPal. I have a private group where there are monthly recurring payments. PayPal is great to use with this. I would recommend, and have many times, for others to use PayPal. I also recommend that PayPal be easier to communicate with an actual person and not all automated. This would help with customer retention.

Owner. I have been with PayPal for many years and have always found them to be very helpful, and always professional and friendly! Our web host, without asking, changed our online payment to GPay. It took 4-5 days to get the money from a sale. As soon as I found out what had happened, I removed it and put PayPal back up as my ONLY option for taking payment. The money from sales is always available immediately! You can’t run a business without revenue. Thank you, PayPal!

Horrible Horrible Horrible. I would say that if you are a crafter or selling individual items this may work for you. If you don’t really care if you get paid that is. However, if you are a business with employees or want your money do not use this to take payments. They really do not want to release your money. They have put our payment on hold 3 times for 2 separate jobs. They have billed us for 3 separate transactions by making us break a payment in half. They offer absolutely no assistance to correct the issues and really do not care. They gave me a hold release date and when I went to transfer funds out of their system into my company bank account they froze it back on hold again. This is going into month 2. Do Not Use this Company!!!

If only. There were 2 improvements I would rate 5 stars. I need a search feature to find customers in my paid invoices without having to look through all of them. My other issue is when entering tracking numbers, I’ll get the first few numbers in and then it just accepts it and closes when I wasn’t finished yet. And I haven’t found a way to go back and edit that. That may be a postal service thing. Not sure. But I would love it if it didn’t accept the tracking number so quickly and I had to click submit or something to verify, that would be great. Otherwise I have no complaints. I love it. It’s fast. It’s easy. It’s convenient and the fees are reasonable

Mostly Good. I have a long business relationship with PayPal and overall it’s been good. Lately this app had been just a headache. One minute my Face ID works to open it, the next minute I have to type in my email and password. It’s inconsistent and very frustrating. I always say I’m going to try another service but I’m just so comfortable with PayPal and fee wise, all of the companies are about the same. I do like that my customers and I feel safe knowing that we both will have to hold up our end of the business agreement, so it’s protection for both parties.

Answer up PayPal. Why is your charge back policy so anti business. The sellers need some recourse when faced with a fraudulent customer. I also have issue with you withholding some of the funds after a sale for 20 days. I have products dropped shipped and my profit margin is pretty small. When you withhold my money you put me in danger of overdrafts because you have held all my profit plus some. Pretty crappy way to do business. When I asked to have the amount available to release increased and earlier, I was denied. This was my second transaction with PayPal. I will be cautious about using your app in the future if at all. I also take issue with the inability of being able to talk to someone. I have to submit a form request and the denial reply comes from an unmonitored email way to dodge the tough stuff PayPal.

PayPal is the only way I do business. PayPal protects the seller and the customer and I don’t have to ask anyone for their credit card number because they log in and pay their bill in their own privacy on a secure site that has been proven to be reliable and safe. I produce video commercials for small businesses and other digital marketing needs such as business websites, chat bots, social media management, etc. and my customers don’t mind paying 100% up front as I have satisfaction guarantee on everything and they know they have the protection of PayPal that they will get what they paid for and if they file a dispute PayPal will act as the arbitrating party and listen to both sides before they make a decision. I don’t accept any other form of payment because I can log into my PayPal account at the end of the year and download all my expenses and income to prepare my taxes. Services are ok depending on how you look at it. Firstly they are not the cheapest. Their rates are higher than square. I can’t stand that they hold money when it comes from a new source. So I started an online store and for the first two months, every new customer who placed an order from my website, PayPal would hold the money for a week. Me being a drop shipper, it was frustrating. The longer they held the money, the longer it took to fulfill orders. Also because I have multiple businesses, I have multiple PayPal accounts. They still charge me to move money between accounts. And like I said they charge 6% compared to squares 4.5%

Releives tension for my online transactions. Paypal to me has been the difference in making a purchase and not making a purchase from unfamiliar online retail sources. When I come across items which look to be great deals from unknown retailers the first thing I am looking for is do the offer PayPal for the transaction. With some many people getting ripped off online it is the only way I feel safe about conducting a transaction with and unfamiliar online retailer. With PayPal I feel safe in knowing that my money whether spending or receiving it is covered from any scrupulous activity from online predators. PayPal is my safety net for monetary transactions..... really the only way to go..

Typical big biz. I received a payment from a CPA that I subcontract with. He had the funds and the money was cleared from his bank and PayPal sent me an email requesting additional information because of a statement that was made in the description of payment. I provided the date of birth as they asked, and have not heard back from them. I have replied to the email over 10 times and called personally three times only for the agent to tell me somebody will get back with me within 24 hours. That 24 hours never came. I’m very disgusted with PayPal. Their fees are very high in the first place, but for them to take my money and hold it even after 14 days now is very disheartening. I have provided him all the information I requested and now I’m ignored. This is why I don’t like doing business with big companies. I will be canceling my service.

Ridiculous. I start using the PayPal Zettle because I have a few customers with PayPal accounts and assumed doing business PayPal to PayPal would make business a lot easier, along with being able to process debit & credit cards. With my business customer receives the merchandise via hand to hand before any monies are charged, I’m currently waiting for $1700 dollars to clear that stemmed from multiple transactions earlier this month and I’ve been told I won’t have access to the funds until the end of the month. Smdh. Now customers received merchandise on day one, their accounts were debited for said amount on day one, Zettle/ PayPal took their money on day one, but me the vendor will have to wait almost a month to get paid…

Horrible update please fix again. I was totally pleased until the update I received May 5th 2019. It has made PayPal unuseable on my mobile device where I usually do all my business - it isn’t showing me the unpaid invoices or paid invoices just a loading screen that says pull down to refresh. I do not have access to my laptop at the moment and this has greatly affected everything I needed to take care of today for work. PayPal needs to be updated /fixed again . Or just don’t release a buggy update that makes things worse then before . I had no gripes before and see no treason for this update anyway

Big Bold Print. Let’s face it. You already knew you were on the discover network with this thing and it was your last ditch effort to stay out of an even more desperate situation. So what are you complaining about? Sure. The fine print with every credit service is a mile long but anyone with a 7th grade education nowadays understands exponents and compounding interest so what’s more to explain? Pay it off because these people put it up on the website and the app so plainly to see that you’ll actually have a chance. And, their login security is some of the best around. Bravo!

Not Good for Services. I wish it was more clear before sending invoices, but this is not the app to use if you provide services with your business. I am a pianist and decided to try this app, so I sent out my invoices to the vocalists I played for and there are SO many hoops to jump through to get your money. They require shipping tracking (not possible for me), have a starting limit of $190 (and hold every dollar above that for 21 days), and customer service is difficult to get ahold of. Once I finally got in contact with customer service they did help release the funds that were already in my account and promised to raise the $190 threshold for me. However, the money I have made since then is still on hold due to the limit. What’s the point of paying their fees if it is this much of a hassle to receive money?!

Invoice draft glitch- please fix!. When making an invoice, don’t swipe down!! It will vanish…poof! And there is no draft saved for you. You are already in “Drafts” and it ain’t there. So say you just want to scroll up to check on your lengthily invoice you just spent 20mins creating. Don’t move your thumb too fast to go up to the top because…poof! It will be gone! No reason for this. Beware! You need to control how fast you move your thumb to use this app for invoicing. Great, right? A new technique you need to learn just use this app. Not like there is any reason for this pit-fall. It’s like a cruel joke. Ok, so then you actually master the the thumb speed to make an invoice without loosing it…well, you will forget the next time you make an invoice because no other app does this. Awesome right? Do the people who created this ever try to make an invoice on their own app? It’s shocking something that seems so simple to fix still exists on this app. My advice: practice making fake invoices and watch how it disappears when you swipe down. Or they could fix it…

This is unreal!!. Someone has hacked or done something because when I call for support it’s 100% not pay pal ! I’ve found a whole bunch of accounts that money has been stolen off of and all with Netspend prepaid cards !! They aren’t on my transaction history but when I asked for a statement on the real site I got a copy of them. Website payment and thousands of dollars ! I tried starting a dispute but every time I call they want all my personal info the card number everything everything u need to log into my account !! Well a couple days later my accounts are closed I can’t login anymore and can’t get thru to the real PayPal !! It seems like I get the same person every time and when I’m on the automated system it says my hold time is 45 min they come on in 2 min !! Please please help me figure this out this is crazy

Needs work. First, the Face ID login resets itself every few days. Why is there no option for services business that doesn’t require you to mark each invoice as service after payment received? Then they hold payment after that to verify. Very frustrating. PayPal has started holding all of my payments for 21 days. Customer service is a joke. Supervisor says they can’t release funds after first “courtesy” release. Even though they have released funds 10 times so far when I call. Very annoying having to call customer service every time I get paid on an invoice. Then they go through the same set of procedures which takes over an hour. I told them several times to increase my monthly transfer limit, but they lowered it instead. No problems like this until January 1, 2023. You need to fix your system.

Recent app issues. Will edit review when resolved. I use this app quite frequently for my business. I’ve had it for about 2 years id estimate. It has always worked completely and without issue. Today I went on to pay a due invoice and the app will not let me do anything. Logs me in and you can’t touch or scroll/drag anything. Literally as if the app is completely frozen. This is of course after the phone tries to Face ID you upon logging up in, infinitely until you hit “cancel”. Deleted the app. Restarted the phone. Reinstalled the app. Same thing over and over and over and over. Bummer. Will edit the review upon resolve. I will repeat, this app was great and I never had an issue prior to today. This is just a particularly bad day for this issue to occur. Further, to be clear, this is only happening in the business version of PayPal, not my personal (blue logo version).

Not meant for Service Based Businesses. After providing a service and the client paying via Paypal I was told I have to wait 21 days for the money. This is absurd and I haven’t experienced anything like it on any other payment system (Stripe, Square and Venmo). It’s not like I can put a tracking number on a service I provided in person. When I spoke to customer service they said the client has to “confirm receipt” on their end. I contacted the client and they have no such option on their side. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve encountered. The customer service rep suggested I used “friends and family” option but that isn’t right since acting as my business it should go into the business account. Not useful or practical at ALL! Use a different payment method.

You won’t get your money. My business was owed a substantial amount of money for 6+ months. Our lawyer got involved and we were immediately sent the the funds through PayPal. Worst idea ever PayPal will give you every excuse in the world why you have to wait 72 hrs to transfer your money and then will only allow you to transfer a small portion and this will go on for weeks as they spoon feed you your money a little at a time. They claim that it’s do to their system. I have been in business over 7 years and have had the same account, EIN and address but they’ll try to use that as an excuse. It’s funny pretty sure that the longer PayPal holds my money and millions of other customers it actually makes them appear to have larger capital and gives them more buying power. SMH. Time to get the lawyer involved again.

My business wouldn’t work without this. I’ve been using PP Business for about 6 years. Recurring invoices, instant availability of funds, a credit card, opportunity to offer flex financing to customers... the list goes on and on. It makes my business possible. My only complaint is the instant check cashing ability is garbage! 99% of the time the funds are denied because the process company simply doesn’t do its job. And even what they are supposed to do is complete nonsense. You shouldn’t need to contact my client to get permission to cash a check! That’s why they gave it to me... It’s embarrassing and incredibly unprofessional. Bank funding is now immediate to next business day. There is no reason to hold funds for 10 days - it’s 2019.

Thank you!!. I can’t say thank you enough to the people at PayPal, I have always had great customer service and never had to wait long when I have had issues. They are on point at all times, I run two business accounts through PayPal. Invoicing is very simple and my customers appreciate the detailed information I can put on them. When tax time comes every quarter all I need to do is print out statements and send them in. Refunds are fast and exactly accurate and on time. I left quick books years ago and have not looked back. 21 business days???. I just finished designing a website for a client & she paid the invoice a couple of days after receiving it. 3-21 business days for a service that has already been completed??? Why is that necessary? If an invoice is paid, I’d expect payment to be received between 2-5 business days. This whole “refund” thing is dumb. You mean to tell me if I fulfill a client’s wishes they can still request a refund before those funds are even released to me? I know how to manage finances! I have my policies in place for refunds! And on top of that the fee was already taken out of the total amount I was supposed to receive (which isn’t a big issue) but why take it if you hold the funds so long & could possibly issue a refund? I guess I’m just upset I let you guys have this much control over MY business. Maybe PayPal Business shouldn’t be accepted as a payment method for what I do.

Very Buggy and Crap Customer Service. Although it is very nice to be able to invoice quickly from my phone, the convenience is not worth the hassle. PayPal Business enjoys booting me out of the app while typing an (of course) very long invoice, when I come back I have to retype the whole thing. I keep the app updated at all times but it has been doing this since I got it. It’s been getting worse and I’m about one more lost invoice close to breaking up with PayPal. Customer service is also absolutely zero help with any issues I’ve experienced, which is just delightful 🙂 For example, I can’t delete an invoice because PayPal thinks someone made a payment on it. They did, but it was refunded. Now both me and my client have an unpaid invoice on both of our ends for forever. How great!!

Money making scam. PayPal has no problem at all taking your money . Putting your account on hold for 21 days and giving you the run around to get it back by asking for more info about your business . They look for any and every reason to place your account on hold so they can invest your hard earned money and make money off of it. Then tell you multiple times that they are reviewing the information that you provided for up to 72hrs . And after 72hrs you call only to get the same run around and another 72hr wait and then they don’t hold up their end of the deal. Terrible customer service . Takes for ever to get a call back from them . If your business model does not match what they think it should look like then you’ll have nothing but trouble !

Dooped by a “ Social Media Expert “. Shout Out to PayPal for getting my money back from someone I trusted to do my website. The person outsourced the job which raised an eyebrow. The work was a copy and paste festival for everything I sent out. I tried to go with the person for the sake of it was a great price thinking maybe this will work out. It’s not cool to play “expert” then send the business to someone who communicates by text only. The website presented is pure garbage and not good for my business. I filed a legit complaint and won back my hard earned money. I trusted the process. Thank you PayPal 💃🏽

Never Been Happier. I’ve seen a lot of low ratings lately, but I’ve never been happier with PayPal. This is my 3rd business that I’ve used PayPal for, spanning over the last 20+ years. The app works fine, the fees are easy to understand, and I get my funds instantly. I don’t ship anymore, but I’ve used PayPal shipping flawlessly in the past. I love the invoicing. My invoices look professional, are quick and easy to send, and customers don’t even need PayPal to pay. My own bank could not convince me to use their merchant account. I’m a happy customer. Thank you!

App Works As Intended. The only reason I’m writing this review is so I can stop getting the pop up constantly asking me to write a review. If you would have let me write it on my own accord I would’ve put great things in this description. But you can’t have your cake and get an organic descriptive response because your pop up is annoying too! But hey you did deserve 5 stars, just not the why :p. I will however edit this into an organic description if you show me how personal you can be toward your customers. Not a huge fan of giant corporations doing stuff just because their psych RND department copied a non personal and annoying review prompt. Low key mad it worked though.

Horrible. All of my payments are on hold and says pending payment. Contacted them and advised these were digital items and not physical, there was no shipping required. I was advised that payments will not be released until 21 days unless the client marks received. One of my clients contacted me and sent me a screenshot where it stated she had to wait 48 hours before confirming receipt. People have their own lives to get back to. As a business owner I think it’s tacky to have to reach out or hound a customer to approve something. Once they have made the payment you shouldn’t have to be advised to contact them. I’m running a business and holding funds for 21 days when still trying to recover during an ongoing pandemic is ridiculous. I stopped using PayPal a few years ago and this just reminded me why.

Scammers. PayPal is probably one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. My sales are typically a minimum of $1200 or so, and sometimes as large as $6,000. PayPal places ridiculously long hold times on my money- usually 21 days or more, before releasing the funds. Oh- and if you want the funds transferred immediately to your bank account there are more fees. I’ve never been nickel and dimed to death before like I have with PayPal. 21 day hold-? My money was legit enough for you to take your almost 5% in fees, but not legit enough to actually give to me? You’re just gonna sit on it for 21 days and collect the interest? F You. The customer service hold times are absurd, and answered by people who are powerless to help you, usually getting stone-walled by some stupid company policy. The app is glitchy at best, making me log in multiple times to access different parts of the app. The chargeback policy is also tantamount to fraud. A customer can file a dispute, lose it (PayPal finds in my favor), and order a chargeback from their bank, guess what? You lose anyway. I hate this company with the fiery burning passion of a thousand supernovae.

Small Business Destroyer. PayPal will withhold your money, lock your account, force you to redo your business review process and continue to hold your money for A WEEK AFTER YOU FIX EVERYTHING, BUT WILL ONLY ALERT YOU OF THIS PROCESS AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN PAID. WE have been scammed three times by clients damaging our products post-installation, and PayPal will give their money back SIX MONTHS after we have installed our product and then they called the police to force us off the property and make it impossible to reclaim our work. In total, PayPal Has cost us over 3% of our total earnings in complete, humiliating and disrespectful losses, besides their 4% interest rates and ridiculous early withdrawal rates They encourage stealing, chargebacks, 4% interest rate, and to top it all off, the call center is handled by people who don’t care about you and your business, only getting you to shut up and deal with their crappy business practices. Don’t even bother entering their system, move to an account that actually values and protects small business from scamming owners, like stripe, square, or even Venmo or cash app at this point. Don’t give your business to these losers
