Amazing apps. Useful. Good to see how loud things really are. Sometimes I'm not sure, and this app lets me know.

Basic db meter - no instructions. It's a basic one-screen db meter, but doesn't explain any of the settings. What is the difference between "Low" and "High", and "Slow" or "Fast"? It's nice that the app features dB-A and dB-C algorithms. The Information button just takes you to links for other apps by this developer. Meh.

Works fine. This app is simple, quick, and easy to use. It provides a nice baseline for most needs. I use for onsite construction activities to determine if I need to go further on investigation before calling the experts. It saves lots of time and effort.

27 decibel the lowest?. When it’s really quiet in the room like the lowest it will go is 27 I think that it wouldn’t be 0 but I think that it’s quieter than 27, and I live in the country. I think that it may have to do with the sounds that the phone makes plus the electricity that powers the speakers so you guys should try to fix that please if this problem is a problem.

Don't bother... no other features. This version of the app is NO different than the free one other than it does not have ads. I thought this would have a way of logging where you were at for different environments (i.e., home, busy streets, at a concert, etc). Nope. Save your money and use the free version.

Easy buy. Stop reading reviews and just buy this. It's worth it I promise.

Confused. One of the available option settings is db A and db C. There is virtually no explanation in the app for the difference other than offering a few examples. But what confuses me after Googling the terms is that some db A-based adjustments rely on information about the neighborhood in which the readings are being taken. As explained by engineers, there are seven kinds of neighborhood upon which db levels are adjusted, and the adjustment range varies from 0 adjustment to a +25 db adjustment. Yet the app doesn't ask you which of the seven standard environments most closely approximates the conditions in which you're using the app. Without that info, your reading can be off by as much as 25 db. That's a lot. If the app just picks one of those environments for every db A reading, which one does it pick? My point is that it doesn't seem possible for this app to detect the appropriate environment given how descriptive these environmental conditions are, and it doesn't seem possible to provide an accurate db reading (i.e. one without a +/- 25 db accuracy range) without the ability to input this info. To the extent that the developer has an explanation for how the app manages to compensate, id love to hear how.

Lovely. This app should have a notes system and grabation support to record sounds and describe it, even though is very good.

Dbl00. Very accurate and easy to use. Measurement is intuitive after a couple of trials. Instructions are brief, but adequate. Well worth the $2.00.

Very nice. I bought this with intentions on measuring the DB on the sound system in my truck. So far it's very accurate and precise challenging it to professional audio shows. They measure exactly. Now that I have this, I know I can be ready for further car shows. This app is very helpful and now I can help my friends measure the DB of their audio systems too.

Extremely helpful. I have modest hearing loss with which I have addressed with hearing aids. However, during my "getting used to it phase" I had some challenges listening to music or watching television and keeping a balance with others in the room. This app has been of great assistance in helping me discover common ground without driving everyone nuts!

Very helpful app. I use this app for our once weekly band Jamboree at our campground in Florida to assist in keeping our sound at a reasonable level. Works great!

Works better than the certified one I purchased!. Love it- all i want to make it better is the ability to timeline the spikes so I can coordinate with video I'm using to try to identify some really offensive noises. I love the explanations too- easy to understand.

Confusing Design. I have 4 different decibel meter apps on my phone/iPad, and I’m sorry to say that this is the least favorite/least used of the lot. In my opinion the graphic design leaves a lot of ambiguity as to when the sound is soft, loud, or too loud. I don’t find this problem with the other apps.

Perfect for..... many uses! Especially non-critical ranges and determining if additional testing is required. It is impressive to have the ability to test for general purposes things like work mechanical spaces & equipment, apartment & home environment sounds internally and external. Baron H

Neat dB meter. This app is well designed and seems to work well. It has useful information about sound as well. Removed one star because it appears there is no way to reset max and average levels.

Very good. I do like this app. It helps me measure sound levels with some sort repeatability. Nutters in the flat under ours keep complaining about my bedside radio! So I have some sort independent verification.

Awareness…. I really love this app. I have Sound loss going back to when I was in high school and this is a lovely little check on where I should be and what I should do about it.

Needs a reset button. Nice product for $2.00 but it needs a reset button or if you are measuring different volumes your measurements won’t be consistent.

Brief Intro would be helpful. Doesn’t tell you anything about how to use it or how it works leaving you confused if it is doing what it was supposed to be doing and if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing to find out what what you want to find out! Quite confusing yeah…!!

Easy to use.... Learning curve zero. Well written explanation to explain sound levels. No ads. Very enjoyable for my purposes. Installation was essentially automatic. As apps go, it doesn't get much more straightforward than this. I'm a happy owner. Would love to see a relative difference mode and a peak hold mode but I'm very happy with it as is.

Simple and effective. Does exactly what it's meant with a simple elegant. Can't comment on accuracy because I don't have a calibrated professional monito but most of the readings seem reasonable.

Inuse it for my construction company. I have a construction company and many time i have problem with measurement , but from now im using only this app. I couldnt believe when one of my friend explained me what this app does. Very helpful. I have just purchased a rangehood that claimed a52db noise level and have proved that my ear is was right, the manufacturer lied. I have since rated all my tools and now know which ones need ear protection to operate. Very helpful.

dB Meter. Simple, straight forward, easy to use. This app does a good job for establishing basic information in many common environments. The instructions are brief but thorough, concise and helpful. Using the app becomes very intuitive after the first or second use. Easily worth $2. One earlier review mentioned that there didn't appear to be a way to reset previous measurements. I found that if you close the app (returning to the home screen), double click the home button (showing the recently opened apps), then "swipe" the dB app out of the order resets it.

Works as it should.. This app works very well. I have compared to other dB Meter's and the results are comparable.

Great App!. Used for monitoring levels while mixing film and TV projects. Very consistent. I wish it had a peak hold, but that’s the worst I can say about it.

Best meter yet. I have tried several db meters and most are just ok. This one outperforms the rest and the help screen provides even more useful information. I will most likely delete the others

Good to have. I really like this app only problem I have is that I can't get it to toggle between the fast and slow mode. It would of gotten a 5th star if that worked. Still enjoy it and it let's me know just how loud my rock band plays.

Keeps me from ruining my hearing. Pretty accurate, and gives a pictorial graph of the dB as well as high and average. A handy tool Especially if you are curious about noise and what to know how loud or quite an environment you are in

Useful app. Loud noice disturb me and i am aware of the danger of permanent hearing loss as result of continual loud noise. This app allow me to cage if i'm just being sensitive or am i actually risking my hearing and the app allows me to prove to those that already have lost their hearing or don't want to mitigate it the actual level of noise. This app works flawlessly with an intuitive interface.

Highly inaccurate. The a, b, c scales are completely off and are not consistent while measuring the exact same 1kHz tone.

Feel so comfortable.. Very good, with a few things needed. A reference for calibration and determining accuracy would make this more accurare, then save calibrations. It is great for what it is.

Great. Does what I expected, perfect.

Simple and effective. Easy yo use. I play rock guitar and go to live shows. I am very aware of sound levels, and diligent about protection, I use musician silicone plugs, but if it’s over 95 dB I will sometimes double up with 3m peltor over ear protectors . It is also interesting to measure other environments like cabins in planes, busy restaurants, parties.. it’s amazing how noisy some environments are.

Ridiculously inaccurate. Don’t trust the readings at all. It’s way off.

Running on iPhone 6. Seems to work very well. After testing, it picks up my alarm clock ticking noise which is about five feet away from the position of the phone. Short ticks are 36 DB and long tick is 37 DB. Seems about right to me.

Good App.. The accuracy could be affected by the quality of the mike on the device. Calibration is impossible without a standard reference. Nevertheless, useful for a quick estimate of surrounding noise level. Application is very good

Nice on the go. It's nice to be able to gauge sound around you with no extra equipment. Bringing nothing from my studio or lugging around heavy things. Just bust out my phone and start the app. It's simple and does what it does well.

Inaccurate, don't waste your money. I downloaded this to use with one of my students who is working on controlling her vocal volume. In a completely silent room, the app read 70 db. It's a piece of junk. Don't waste your money.

Nothing impossible!. I use this app to measure "noisy appliances", as opposed to regular sounding. Much less subjective. Works great!

Excellent Application. As an industrial engineer who focuses on human factors and ergonomics, I find this extremely helpful for the workplace. This is not a professional instrument as it uses your microphone from your iPhone. However, I do find it reliable and acceptable to rate general environments. It's an eye opener! Good looking, good help, accurate. I chose this app because of the big font used for the main display, the clean design and the calibration put in to the development. I like to use this app. No complaints. One feature request: consider adding support for rotation to landscape, as many people (musicians especially) prefer to work on devices in landscape. Not a deal breaker but it does make it a pain sometimes, particularly if the device is connected to other stuff and is difficult to rotate without unplugging everything.

Useless just a gimmick. Only real-time analysis no saving functionality. So impossible to make a historical record. Therefore useless as a tool only a gimmick.

Good. Is it possible for you guys to create a noise cancelling app.. that lets us create a quiet zone. By using sound waves of opposite phase value so that the sound signal generated can cancel the ambient noise. I can help you more with technicalities. But would love to see that idea put into reality. Anyway thanks
