Good but frustrating. The Good: can customize workouts, has a great exercise library with video demonstration. Can create your own workouts, can group exercises into a circuit, also suggests workouts based on recovered muscles, provides good data to see how you have been tracking over a period of time. The frustrating: your customized workouts are not searchable, when performing an exercise the app does not tell you what you did last time or provide any wick info on recent weights used, cannot group saved workouts into a folder which would be so nice if you do different programs, it would also be nice for it to suggest exercises based on frequency of movements that you usually do for a particular body part, also since now I have many saved workouts, when I go into the list, when I go to look at a workout to see if I want to do it, if I want to look at another saved workout, there is no back button to take you back to the list…you have to exit out completely and go back into the whole list again…super frustrating! Hopefully these are easy fixes that some I have requested 4 years ago when I first purchased. Hopefully a public review will motivate them to actually follow through with these frustrating features.

This app has revolutionized fitness for me. I have always wanted to get in shape, but the idea of going to the gym has always been so overwhelming and intimidating. The main reason has always been: what do i do? This app has solved that problem perfectly. I just put in my information and boom: here’s exercises to do, how many reps and what weights to use, and exactly how to do the exercises (combination of detailed instructions and lil videos). Now this app is certainly not perfect. There are definitely several limitations in the customization area. But i think the positives far outweigh the negatives. For the longest time, i just did push ups and pull ups at home, because they were easy to do consistently. I tried adding other things to work out legs, but i didn’t really know what to do and how to do it. Then today, i had to stay home from the gym because i had a sore throat, but i still wanted to work out. So, i made a new gym profile on the app and entered that i just had a few dumbbells and a pull up bar, and boom: a full comprehensive workout that was just as satisfying as going to my gym. That was honestly what motivated me to write this review. FitBod has revolutionized fitness for me.

Good but could be better. I did my first workout with Fitbod today. I really enjoyed the workout itself as I could pick which muscles I wanted to workout and it would generate the exercises for me. The exercises didn’t repeat, supersets were available, there is a built in timer, all of which I loved. Also available to add on are warm up and cool down exercises that are automatically generated for your muscle groups that you’re working out that day. And it shows you how to do each exercise/stretch. Can’t wait to see how my next two free workouts go before I consider subscribing. The one downside I’ve noticed while trying to log the weights I used— for the mini loop bands and resistance bands, the only way to log weight is based on their specific band colors/levels of resistance and I have bands from different brands with different levels of resistance to them, so I would like to be able to insert my own level of resistance for workouts rather than the preset ones. Also, the colors of the bands in the app don’t match up with the colors of the bands they sell on the website. This should be reconciled to at least match the ones that the company sells IMO because then I’d be more likely to buy the ones that match the app. This isn’t a huge deal as I just matched the resistances, BUT it’s an easy fix the company should adjust.

Super excited but somewhat sad!. I had always struggled with feeling confident at the gym especially with coming up with sound and effective exercise plans for the day during peak gym season. I work 9 hour days and can only hit the gym if I would like during peak night times, and often times I’m struggling up to come up with work out ideas and end up not making the most out of my time at the gym. I think that is where the feature of this app really shine through. I would recommend this app to those who need a little help with creating and tracking their exercise plans and progress! Also, you’re not indefinitely locked into the plan and you can swap/replace exercises if you would like. I believe the best feature is the instruction videos that built right into the app. The achievements after a workout are also a bonus! It’s nice to cheered on. Also, with the help of this app, I really get an idea of what muscles I am working out and I am able to check my form without being super self conscious because of all the instructional video. I was so excited to start incorporating this into my regime and hopefully kickstart myself into consistency. Unfortunately, the $60 annual is a bit too much for me to justify at the moment and knowing what I could save with the annual single payment versus the monthly has me hesitant to go down that route. I suppose I’ll just have to go back to using without until I can budget out for the annual fee.

Glitches. I was wowed with this app. Unfortunately, lately I will log my workout on my Apple Watch 3 and it won’t record it though I press the log button or it will mess with my sets and reps and I have to go into my phone and log manually. If I try to use my watch regardless , I will flip my wrist to press log on the app and it will glitch after I press it and go back to my main watch face. It then says it needs to refresh with my phone. So I get my phone out to sYnc and my sets and reps that I know I logged for previous workout moves are gone and the sets AND reps are messed up! So I have been just logging through my phone and my app on my watch messes with it yet again! My watch will keep reminding me how many exercises I have left when I never logged into it with my watch . I have to go in and fix all my exercises that got reset or deleted again! I have now deleted it from my watch (one reason I got the app was I could workout without whipping my phone out) in hopes to get this sets, reps, deleting issue solved . This app WAS awesome! But the glitches has made me kind of want my money back! Don’t ask about updates, I have updated my watch, phone, apps, shut down and turned back on. Still an issue. This seems to be the only app on my watch with an issue as well. All my other apps work just fine .

Started great but has grown more buggie. I have been a user and of Fitbod for i believe three years now. During my first year of use it was great. Workouts had a nice layout and the all routines made sense. After some updates and a increase to have a membership I have found my experience using the app becoming a chore. Where before it was thoughtless now is a pain. Exercises/ equipment I once excluded for a gym profile appear in my workout. Workouts that are the exact same, but for some reason are named differently are given in the same workout. They workouts available to log are still somewhat limiting. And with this limitation there is still no way for you to create a exercise log to track your progress. As a side don’t even bother trying to log your workout through your Apple Watch. Multiple times I have to sync up my watch and or phone to be in line with one another. If say I complete a set and input that into my watch my phone will then not have the set logged and vice versa. I hope things improve with the updates that are promised to come but with this track record I wouldn’t be surprised if things continue to get taxing for the user to operate.

Comprehensive Workout App!. My foundation is in starting strength barbell strength training and I then do accessory work for bodybuilding. Currently, push/pull/legs split. This app has all the exercises a beginner, intermediate, and advanced lifter could ask for. I’m sure with updates and customer reviews they will add more exercises to the library. It’s great for calculating volume and calorie burn. Notably, the calorie burn can be worked into your daily diet and calorie count so you can factor your workouts into bulk or cut routines. The app is very easy to use, customize your own workout, supersets, or have the app generate a workout for you based on your fitness goals (and then customize it to your satisfaction). I purchased after my 2nd free trial session because I saw how convenient it was to track weights, volume, rest intervals all on your phone. It was one stop shop. Well worth the purchase, will recommend to friends and others! My phone is an iPHONE XS Max, no glitches, runs smooth. Please add the following exercises: Pendlay Rows, Deficit Deadlifts, Halting Deadlift, Rack pulls, Barbell Overhead Press (OHP), Barbell Pin Press for OHP, Rev Grip Bench Press, Wide Grip Bench Press, Block/Pin Bench Press, Rev grip Tri pull down (medial head), cable/rope triceps extensions, leg press stance variants (narrow/wide, upper stance, lower), Barbell Front Squats

Great with some easy to fix flaws. The app provides a solid system to set up a workout routine based on your requirements and restraints. The video tutorials provide clarity that affirm you are getting the workout you signed up for. The interface is engaging and well designed. The issue is bugs and some logic within the app. The most annoying issue is the lack luster algorithm for determining calories burned. It is directly tied to the time of your workout, regardless if you just sat there for an hour. In fact if you take twice as long to do the same workout, you will be rewarded about twice the calories. This is silly and should be fixed as it a big reason I do not port this data to Apple health. Two, the split days do not recalibrate correctly if you change the split day (maybe you wanted to do chest on a Friday instead of legs.. it might make it chest again on Monday. Three, small bug but if you go to check future workouts, it won’t load all of them until you click on one first or leave the screen and return to it. This is probably a week of dev work max. Please fix these issues. - 2 year subscriber

A year and a half later with Fitbod and I’m stronger and fitter than I’ve ever been. No kidding, I was 220 lbs in 2022 today I’m a healthy 195 with muscle definition. This app is literally the most useful app I’ve ever put on my phone. I use it almost everyday unlike a lot of other clutter on my phone. Let me just summarize by saying that I wanted to learn more, diverse excercises as I felt is hit a wall as far as what I knew how to do in a gym. This app taught me some really sick workouts that have had a huge impact on my wellbeing and fitness. Before this app I could not do pull ups, chin ups, dips, etc. but by inputting my results and working one day at a time this app helped me build up to doing all that and more. I also love how I can switch between bulking, shredding, and strength training whenever I feel like it. If you’re a beginner trying to get healthy and feel better get this app now. It will start you off with very manageable excercises and you can even select 30 minutes if you want to try out a quick one. Very easy to track gains and also plan what comes next. 10/10 would recommend!!!

My best friend in the gym!. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now with the fitness goal option selected in the app to do strength-training, muscle tone, and bodybuilding, and let me tell you it has forever changed how I work out for the better! I’m already seeing a difference in how I look because the app is there to make sure I do the number of sets and reps I’m supposed to to reach my goal. It’s also challenging me to do exercises I was always scared to try as it offers videos and instructions on how to do the exercises correctly with right form. An option that I really like is that I can replace an exercise with another of the same muscle group. I connect this app to my apple watch and it lets me log in each set how many reps of an exercise I’m doing and it calculates the calories burned in a workout based on that data which is very convenient! This app will get you from a beginner at the gym to an expert in no time! Just keep exploring all the features in there and you’ll be amazed of how awesome it is. I would highly recommend this app even with the $5 subscription price per month that I’m paying. It’s totally worth it!

Best fitness app I have ever used. I’ve tried everything. I’ve done apps I’ve watched videos gone to classes. I hired a trainer for a few months. This app for the price and all of $60 a year is totally worth it. It’s been a blessing for me and it’s something to look forward to of “what are we going to do today?” Which helps the motivational aspect that I lack. It is simple to use. It has videos loaded into every exercise so you’re not having to struggle with waiting on a video to load via the internet. It’s clear and concise and clean and well thought out. It lacks all of the obnoxious pressuring tools that people think are so great and if that helps you fine - but I sometimes just can’t finish this last exercise after an hour of pushing myself and I’m just glad the app doesn’t get judgmental about it. It just says ok great job look at what you did today. Lol. If you’re struggling to work out or not sure how to get started - coming from someone who’s worked out solidly for the past 4 years - and still struggles with weight and motivation and body image issues and all of that - this app has helped me tremendously.

Amazing app worth every penny but….. This app has changed the game for my workouts and I truly LOVE it. I paid for the annual access which is honestly super affordable and totally worth the money. My one critique is that you don’t have any great options for a workout “refresh” once the app has selected your workout for the day. You can of course always change the length of the workout (15 min, 30 min, 45 min, 1 hour etc) but when you change the time the workout typically reconfigures altogether as opposed to just dropping reps etc. If you go from a 1 hour workout to a 30 min workout it changes to a whole new workout and if you hate the 30 min workout plan and switch back to 1 hour it doesn’t go back to the original workout it changes to another whole new workout. Not ideal… it would be great to either maintain similar workout plans between time changes OR have a “refresh” button that will switch out all of the workouts without having to manually change each activity one by one. Overall a great app though and has helped me lots. It changes what muscle groups you work so you never really get stuck in a rut. The app could definitely just use a few small updates :))

Aaron R. Hello everyone let me say first this app is great! This is the best app of its kind... if u don’t mind paying. If your like me you don’t have to much extra spending cash especially for an in app purchase. I have avidly been using this app for about a year or more and i have loved it. It was great to time my breaks find out a rough estimate of what i burned (Cals) and to see how to properly do new exercises. I Had zero problems with the app minus a crash or two here and there but now 40$ a year is just not worth what i’m getting. I understand the company has to make money and for some of you 40$ is nothing but for me it’s quite a chunk of change i didn’t think i would be needing to spend Love the app just wish you wouldn’t force users to buy a subscription to use it. maybe a very limited free trial that gives the bare minimum would be a good substitute. Other then the price i highly recommend this app to all people on the fitness spectrum. UPDATE: I qualified for the beta program and was pleasantly surprised that they cared about their users i’m giving them a Big five stars for their actual care for customers great app and even better developers

I love whoever created this so much. ***9 month update: I ended up losing 40 more pounds using this app and am the strongest I’ve ever been in my life. I wish I’d had this app in the army, because it has saved me from the hip injury that got me medically discharged. I can even run again now! Strength training is the way to go and this app helped me 100x more than that trainer ever did. *** I was a member of a personal training gym for 6 months ($700 a month for 3 workouts a week). Having a trainer was great; I built muscle and lost fat (20 pounds total weight loss). But once on my own, it’s been a struggle. I didn’t know what exercises to do together or how they affected my body. I saw this app on an Instagram ad and while I usually take a peek at fitness ads, I ultimately never download or buy a subscription. They’re almost all the same, don’t do much for you and are expensive. This app is EVERYTHING. Jeez- for the price of Netflix, I could’ve been using this app from the beginning and seen the same results. You still have to put in the work, but this is the best tool I’ve found so far and the price is amazing. I bought the annual subscription and am very pleased with my results so far. Great, customizable workouts that take all the I’m-confused-and-don’t-know-what-to-do-so-give-up out of it. This app partnered with a cheap $10 Planet Fitness membership may very well be the best thing to ever happen to me.

Great, but needs some features. I’ve been using Fitbod for a while now and there’s really no other fitness app out there that compares for ease of use. If you are looking to start and get into a workout routine, this app with get you going right away. Overall, I’ve been pretty pleased with Fitbod and I’ll still continue to use it. The downsides are that it’s lacking some features that would be helpful. I’m starting to look into training for a triathlon and it would be great to generate strength training for specific disciplines like running, cycling, swimming, golf, etc. Only having five or six general categories doesn’t really diversify for specific training. I’m not looking for a full on training plan, but more supplemental training for other sports. The other issue is no Garmin support. There’s only Apple health, Strava, and Fitbit. I’ve been able to sync my Garmin data through Apple Health and then into Fitbod to have it count for other workouts (e.g. - cycling, swimming, etc.) but it’s not super accurate and I’m not sure it’s working to the fresh muscle groups when generating workouts. It seems that the AI that was there before isn’t the same as it was a year ago, so not sure if there was an update that tweaked that. Overall, Fitbod does fill the gap of taking the guesswork out of strength and lifting, but it still needs some work.

Took 2 weeks and now love it. I’ve been using the app for 4 weeks now- at first I was excited to get started but let down quickly for personal reasons, not the App per-say. Background - I work with a trainer at the gym and do a push-pull workout 5 days a week with cardio. Of course the trainer works around my injury and recovery... I had wrist surgery last year and still have limitations, for example can’t put body weight on it and can’t do any type if push up yet. So frustrating!! Now, with not having the gym nor my trainer available and fast forward 2 weeks- I’m loving it! Found the perfect workout regimen for me within the App! I really had to play around to see what would work best for me with my injuries. I tried to set it to push/pull but without gym equipment there isn’t much push you can do.l without push-ups, which I can’t do....So was getting frustrated with the workouts. I tried different settings for 2 weeks and found one that is working around my injury!! I love that I can customize the app - exclude exercises I can’t do, set the type of regimen and equipment available or that works for me. The app changes up the exercises, this prevents me from getting bored and keeps my interest with my at home workouts right now. I can truly say I get a better workout then the gym at times - I’m sweating, my heart rate is up and I feel fulfilled at the end of the workout! I’m going to be using this when the gyms open back up - this is my own personal personal trainer!!

Great potential but misses the Mark. I’ve been using this app daily for two months now. While the concept of having it adjust to meet your ability and push you further is great it misses the mark on execution. It starts out great, five stars for being able to suggest the proper weight and exercise according to what I want to achieve and the equipment I have available. -1 star for not being able to RELIABLY go between my Apple Watch and phone to track progress or complete sets or workouts. App is often out of sync. On my watch the timer randomly stops while on the phone it works fine. Not all the time and not for the same workouts which only adds to the frustration because I never know what to expect next. -1 star for not being able to RELIABLY add exercises or sets. Have tried several times and it’s hit or miss. Sometime it works, other times it resets prior exercises I already completed. Now before I try to add I take screenshots of any changes I made in case it decides to reset. -1 star for having to pay a subscription for an app that is not being properly tested before it’s released. Looking back over past comments and many people have said the same thing, this is unacceptable. If we are being asked to pay monthly or annually for a service the least they can do is address the issues that are being reported. Not expecting changes overnight but going back a year and seeing the same called out, it’s time to get it right. If not, start reimbursing us until you can.

LOVE!! Totally worth it.. I love everything about this app. I’ve been using it for a year and can’t believe I haven’t left a review on it yet. Fitbod rocks because it simplifies everything about weightlifting. Other apps like bodyfit make you choose from plans but Fitbod takes the choice out of it and tailor fits the plan to you. Everything is just so personalized I couldn’t recommend it enough. I paid for the annual Membership back in December of 2019 and most certainly plan on letting my renewal rollover. Well worth the price. I’m even willing to pay that amount in spite of the fact that I haven’t had access to the gym. Here in California all the 24 hour fitnesses have shut down for a large part of quarantine. I haven’t used the app that much since I purchased in last December because of the lack of gym equipment but for the little time I was able to use them before March it was a dream. It was literally like a personal trainer for a few months all for the price of $60. They clearly put a lot of work in to this app. Here’s to hoping that they continue to improve and add more helpful intuitive features like the weight plate calculator and the timer etc... 5 stars!!!

Great app really love it!, but. In January I’ll be already using this app for a year. It’s been quite an experience and it has helped me so much. Going to the gym without having to worry about “what I’m gonna train today” and being certain you’re not overtraining some muscles more than others it’s just so worth it!. I love the fact that I can use it and log sets from my Apple Watch!, even being able to see the exercise example video from your watch it’s also great. There are couple things that can be improved though, like being able to log the amount of effort at the end of each exercise from your Apple Watch, there’s kind of like a glitch when you mix timed exercises with reps exercises the clock keeps running and logging all the sets, it’s a pain in the neck. Also while I’m able to log my Nike Running app runs into Fitbod I’m not able to log my Nike Training routines when I do HIIT training and cardio on that app, that would be a great feature, like for the Fitbod app to be more open, like when I log my weight into my Apple Health from my Fit2Live app and I weight myself everyday. I think inter-connectivity is the way to go, in my humble opinion. Anyways Thank you guys for making such a great app!!! I’m a fan!

Great App for Consistency. I have been working out on and off since high school (30 plus years). However, finding the consistency and motivation has been challenging. I have read countless articles about different weight lifting plans and have tried / failed at most of them. Fitbod, however, changed all of that. When it comes to using this app, I never have to think about what exercises I should do because it does the work for me. You are able to pick workout types based on preference. For example, push/pull, upset body/lower body, full body, etc. each exercise is also explained and demonstrated to cover different learning styles, visual, kinetic, etc. the app keep track of what you did in the last workout and applies weight suggestions which can always be Chandra up or down depending on how you are filling. There is also a countdown between sets and finished workouts can be posted to different social media sites, Strava for example. Yes, this site does make suggestions to share the app with others, to post personal records, etc., in an attempt to attract more users. But, it’s simple as hitting the X or saying no if that’s not your cup of tea. All in all, for what you get, the paid version is worth it to mr and, after my year subscription is up in the next few weeks, I will be re-upping for another year. You can tell they put a lot of thought into this app and this is my jam for sure. Consider giving it a try. Be a better you like I am becoming a better me!

So much more than a “Fitness Log”. I’ve been using this app for about a year. During that time I have rated it 5 stars periodically. Occasionally I will read other people’s reviews of the app. I just have to smh at some. Some complain about the price. You get what you pay for, and you get so much with this app. I have never had a second thought about the value I get from using Fitbod. Fitbod doesn’t just log your workout, it creates and customizes a workout based on what you do and what you want. So much is customizable. And if you aren’t feeling a specific exercise or the amount of weight or the rep count, change it. If you need a lower weight than it recommends, change it. It tracks your progress and makes a plan according to what you are capable of doing. Other than a personal trainer that knows me and helps keep a record of my workout, I have never had anything give me so much feedback and a plan for every day. I was very overweight and had not been in a gym in over 15yrs, because I hated going in and not having a plan or seeing new equipment and not knowing how to use it. This app has changed all that and has helped change me. Thank you Fitbod.

Revolutionary idea - still some more work to do. I really like this app a lot. It has an intuitive interface, and gives me challenging workouts that I look forward to every day. Like a lot of other people, this app has also exposed me to many exercises I wouldn’t have otherwise tried. I know that I will continue to use and enjoy this app for a very, very long time, and for that I thank the developers. The reason I gave 4 stars is because there are still some bugs that I feel need to be worked out. For example, one workout had 2 exercises that were both “max effort” days on the same muscle group. Maxing out one muscle group on a given day is taxing enough, but maxing out the same muscle group twice in a day will give you inconsistent results. I’ve also seen very strange weight/rep recommendations. For example, I maxed out one exercise at 13 reps for 50 pounds. A couple days later the app wants me to do 15 reps for 40 pounds. That’s practically maxing out again. Besides that, there are lots of little bugs that I’m sure will get sorted out over time. For example, the timer beeps are inconsistent between sets (sometimes it’ll beep and other times it won’t). I also wish you could tell the app that you don’t have fixed barbells. Most barbells are 45 pounds with no plates on them, yet there are barbell exercises in the app calling for 30 or 40 pounds, which is impossible. Again, I’m sure this will get sorted out in time, but they are still a minor annoyance.

Lacking. I find myself spending more time altering the daily workouts than anything else. The order of the exercises within a set often makes no sense. Also I am CONSTANTLY adjusting the weight used in the exercises as the recommendations are too low. I increase the weight and log it with every workout. You would think the app would adjust the reco over time but it hasn’t. I would like to be able to exclude muscle groups permanently rather than having to do it with each and every workout. I’m an avid cyclist so between rides and other workouts I do.. so for example I should be able to exclude glutes and quads permanently if I choose to. I have my Fitbod account linked to Strava so Fitbod reflects the rides but I still get a reco for those muscles groups even when they’re fatigued. I also thought there would be more variety in the structured workouts but there isn’t. This doesn’t make sense to me as it looks as there is a database of dozens of exercises for each muscle group.. but I keep getting the same two over and over. I really wanted to like the app but after a month I don’t see the value in paying 10 bucks a month when I have to spend 5-10 minutes a day customizing the workouts along with the other issues I mentioned.

Good but not great enough to pay for...yet. I’ve used this app for one week which granted is not a lot of time. However, it is long enough to see some glaring errors. The app has a lot of really great exercises for beginner to advanced fitness levels. There are very good, very clear directions with a video accompanying each exercise to make successful execution quite easy. The problem I have on my iPhone Xs and my Apple Watch Series 4 is that the app on the watch and the app on the phone don’t seem to work in perfect synchronicity. The idea behind the watch app is that you can use it to cycle through specific exercises within a set or superset while your phone sits idle in your pocket. The problem on the Apple Watch app is that you have the choice only to log an entire superset and move onto the next superset despite the fact that you may only be on the first set within a superset. It’s annoying to have to go back to your phone to login individual sets so that you don’t clear out the entire superset and move onto the next exercise. I’ve had this issue every day since using the app. Also and on a more minor note, when setting up the initial free 30 day trial, I had to install, delete, and reinstall the app three times before I was able to begin the free trial. These are just a few examples of how this seemingly very strong app is still a bit glitchy in areas of basic user interface. A little fine-tuning and I would recommend it even at its $10 a month subscription.

Fantastic App for the beginners and the busy. I’ve been using this “Fitbod” app for about a month now, and I have to say I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it for anyone like me, who doesn’t have time to make up and track a detailed fitness program for themselves, or anyone new to lifting. Every exercise it plans for you gives a detailed description of the movements and a video of the motions, so you’ll never be lost or unsure about what you’re doing. 20 workouts in so far and I’ve yet to repeat the same exercise twice, yet still activate every muscle group multiple times a week. Helping to keep things interesting, but in the long term, prevent plateau’s and stagnant progress. There is a subscription fee, but between the daily custom workouts, active muscle fatigue tracking, archived logs of all past workouts, and multiple customization features depending on personal preference and equipment available to you, it’s well worth it. Plus it links to Strava and Apple’s health app if you’re into that sort of thing. I never cared enough to give a review to an app before because that’s stupid, but this app has been a very pleasant experience for me, and I figured I should recommend it before everyone drops of their New Years fitness kicks because I actually look forward to checking this app and checking what my next workout has in store for me.

App keeps crashing & doesn’t sync with Watch app. I’ve been using Fitbod for years. The app has so much potential. It makes logging workouts and tracking progress so easy. I usually use my owns self-created workouts, but the ones that the app generates are great as well. But lately, the app has been crashing nearly every time I use it. When I create a workout, when I update a workout, when I’m mid-workout trying to log a set, the app crashes. It’s incredibly frustrating. Often times I start a workout and continue to log exercises on my Apple Watch, then get halfway thru my workout before I realize the app on my phone has not synced, and not of my progress appears there. Then the watch app defaults to the phone app, and my progress is erased on the watch, forcing me to go back thru and re-log everything from memory if I want to have a record of the day’s workout. I’m not sure what the issue is. I sent an email but have received no word back. There have been sporadic issues like this in the Pat surrounding various updates, but they usually pass within a few days. This time the problem has persisted for months. Please. For the love of the gains, fix this issue. I pay for this app and it crashes nearly every time I open it. Often times, mid-workout. It’s infuriating. Only thing keeping this review at 3 stars instead of 5.

Does the thinking for you. I’ve worked out for over a decade, but more recently with work and life I started slacking going to the gym. When I started getting back into my routine I found myself having issues in thinking through a split routine and tracking it. I had tried other apps, but sometimes I’d miss a workout or two due to travel or what not and then had to rework the program. This app, on the other hand, is excellent! It works like magic with the Apple Watch telling me when rest time is up and allowing me on the watch to log the reps and weights for the specific set and see the next set coming up. I started with just the trial and have found this app to be incredibly useful. I decided to purchase the subscription because for me it saves me time, motivates me to get to the gym, tracks everything effortlessly, and allows me to adjust workouts while taking that info into account for the remaining sets and future workouts. If nothing else, at least TRY this app and see the difference between how flawlessly it works. Also, one major feature that helps so much: you tell it what equipment you have. It then only makes workouts you have available in your gym. Genius!

User friendly and time saving. I have trained with personal trainers and loved it, but due to covid, I was unable to access one any longer. We built up a small gym area in the garage, but after a few months I found my creativity for workout creation fading, my muscles were used to my known exercises, and I was no longer making any gains. Fitbod came right on time. It’s user-friendly, has hundreds of workout options, saves me a lot of time planing workouts, and is excellent for all levels. It takes into account your equipment, or lack thereof, and incorporates it into the routines. It learns what is easy or too hard, as adjusts workouts based on this. The instructions and demonstration videos ensure safety and good form for new exercises, and you can tailor workouts based on your goals. You can be a complete beginner or gym rat and enjoy the workouts, have no equipment or all, and adjust the time you want to spend working out each day. I am honestly really impressed, and for $60 a year I’ve never felt so motivated to keep working out. My only recommendation would be to add in a couple more cardio options (kickboxing, boxing, etc) for those who enjoy MMA and strength fitness routines.

Affordable and Practical with Results. A year ago I began my fitness journey determined to better understand my body and perform exercises that would help me to reach my goals. Like most beginners I had absolutely no plan or structure, but this app gave that and more. The workouts are designed to fit your desired goal based off of your available equipment. The ability to personally tailor my workout program to any setting has allowed me to workout out practically anywhere. The pandemic has forced me to workout from my garage but in the past year I have accumulated more and more plates, dumbbells and equipment while simultaneously updating my available equipment on my app to set workouts and honestly I have had no need to join a gym. You will get stronger and you will see results so long as you stick to your goals and follow the apps instructions. My technique and form has improved tenfold and my strength has increased making every day tasks seem like nothing. I could write a whole essay on why you should download the app but it is definitely worth the trial and subscription if you are serious in pursuing any workout program. This app is a perfect supplement to any workout program or goal. 10/10 would recommend.

I like This Alot , Except . . . .. im a beginner when it comes to working out so i tend to be in the gym not knowing what to do just pretty much in there hopping from one machine to the next so i love the fact that this app (been using for about 3 months now) gives me my full workout . From start to finish so im not just in there trying to figure out what to do next . Love that it shows yu how to do it as well as what area of the body the exercise is actually for. My only downfall is that because im a beginner i would expect all my workouts to be beginner friendly. They most certainly have beginner friendly workouts but when im starting my workout and i see the workout they put together , i can never just go thru with the whole workout because im constantly replacing the one they put in my workout. For example , it may tell me to run for 20 min on the treadmill and ill have to replace that because its no way as a beginner that yu can run for 20 min straight (well i cant) or another one they always have be do are pushups but i always have to replace that with the one where yu can be on ur knees or just a completely different workout. So its not something that would make me not continue to use this app its just that if my workout is for 1 hr 30 min it then becomes way longer than that because i constantly have to stop to replace the really tough workouts that they have me doing. Only reason why i gave it 4 starts , other than that , would be a 5 for me🙂

Best Fitness App!. I’m an ex powerlifter looking to tone up my bulky muscle into something more lean and, well, feminine. The thing that floors me about this app is just how much you can customize it to your preferences! When you open the app, it asks the basics: age, gender, height, weight, y’know. Then it asks you what your goals are for fitness: do you want to bulk up? Get lean/lose weight? Bodybuilding? Are you training for powerlifting? Are you training for Olympic weight lifting? Then it asks how many days a week you want to workout (and for how long), what your experience level is, what equipment your gym has (dumbbells, barbells, machines, etc.), and from there it customizes a weekly workout plan that’s perfect for you. And if your preferences change, like if one day you want to just do a bodyweight workout with no equipment, it lets you do just that in the settings! The more you workout, the more the app adjusts to your limits so that you’re neither whipped to the bone nor walking away feeling like you waisted your time doing nothing. It’s as if I’ve found a personal trainer that fits in the palm of my hand!! It’s only been the first week I used this app, but I’m already so thrilled with how well it’s made that I’ve subscribed to the $60 a year plan. This app is well worth it in so many ways. It even lets you add recovery and warm up exercises!

Love all of the features. I started using Fitbod in June 2018. Getting back into a workout routine as a mom and night nurse seemed impossible and overwhelming with three kids, an out of whack circadian rhythm, and limited time but I needed to do something for my health and to manage stress. I invested in home gym equipment over the years but never stuck with anything. I literally had to dust my weights and bench. I came across Fitbod while searching for an app to help me organize my workouts, give me some accountability, and some structure. It’s been a total game changer. There are so many helpful features that I love. It took the overwhelming planning me. Fitbod put together my workouts, according to the equipment I had, and was a great way to stay accountable. The instructional short how-to videos and explanations are great for beginners. I used these frequently to review form and ensure I was using the proper technique to avoid injury and get the maximum benefit. The timers for rest periods, superset builders, recovery log, max effort days, I love everything about it. For a busy mom with three kids, lifting with Fitbod took the stress of planning my workouts away and has allowed me to stay organized and progress! This transformation led me to health coaching and Fitbod is something I recommend to anyone looking to incorporate fitness into their routine.

Goodbye Plateau. I’ve been lifting since I was 16. I worked in a gym through college and didn’t have a problem staying fit/built. Then, real life happened. I worked a professional job, got married, had a kid, and skipped the better part of a year working out. I’m highly motivated so getting back to work wasn’t difficult. The real problem was that I am not 37 and my body doesn’t snap back to 100% like it used to. With that being said, I am determined to be in the best shape of my life or die trying... Enter Fitbod. Fitbod got me out of my comfort zone and forced me to do exercises I’ve not done in years or, I’m some cases, ones I have not done before. I’m finally, after the better part of a year hitting weights like crazy, seeing some major gains. I questioned the formula at first but as I fine tune the weights and number of reps I’m finding Fitbod to be indispensable. With all that being said, the only improvement I could recommend is to pair supersets in a way that is efficient. Sometimes similar exercises are paired which is okay unless they use the same piece of equipment that need rearranged (and can take a few minutes to strip and reset). This is really my only complaint with the app. It’s really great otherwise. Also, the synchronicity between the app and the Apple Watch needs some serious work. They don’t always know what each other is doing or has done.

I WANT to love this app.... I’m a fitness professional. MS in exercise Science and an exercise specialist. For the casual gym goer looking to expand their repertoire in the gym and have something keep them accountable and organized, this app is wonderful. It’s user friendly, right to the point, and highly intuitive for just about anybody looking to get in shape. My issue is this. I got this app because of the convenience and the peace of mind knowing that I can follow the given workout and be confident that I’m doing all the right exercises. But I don’t have that convenience and peace of mind because I’m OFTEN finding myself trying to configure the workouts beforehand, quite thoroughly. The workout plan comes up and it gives me exercises that are just not conducive to a good workout. Meaning, why would I do an isolated movement, 3 sets of 6 before a heavy compound lift for 5 sets of 12? That makes no sense. Unfortunately I have to do a lot of the thinking myself because the algorithm provided just spits out workouts based on a flawed system. It doesn’t know what I know and how I would configure my workouts so in order for me to work better with the app, I’d have to sit there and configure every exercise. And makes sure you save the workout because any setting changed without saving the workout will completely throw out everything you just did. Frustrating when you’re on the fly. Anyways, good app, just can’t love it.

Great app but bugs are ruining it. First off, this app is amazing and is really helping me maintain momentum in my workout routine, as well as getting me to expand outside my comfort zone and avoiding just doing the same workouts every time. However, a couple bugs are really ruining it and causing a horrible experience. The biggest one is that on a day I am going to workout, I look through the “generated workout” and make any modifications I want to the exercises. This can take me about 15 minutes to get the right workout. Not a big deal, but when I go to the gym later in the day and fire up the app, I can see my workout for a few seconds, then it resets to the originally generated workout and I lose all my customizations!! This wastes a ton of my time at the gym to re-calibrate it. The other issue is that the gym profiles keep overwriting each other. I have a profile for my actual gym, and a profile for my home. But changing things on one profile like workout time length and available equipment will often update it on the other profile. Definitely defeat the purpose of multiple profiles! Hopefully these get fixed soon, once they are I’ll update my review.

Mixed reviews. I have mixed reviews about this app im a premium subscriber. While I do like this app there are certain things I would like added or changed. First I do like that it’s gives you a detailed video on how to do each work out I think for beginners that are just starting to workout and don’t want to look stupid in the gym doing workouts wrong it’s very helpful to see the right form and detailed explanation of breathing and tightening techniques. I like the tracking of workouts and how they change your workouts throughout the week and show which muscles are fresh to be worked out and which ones you have just worked out through the week to give a rest. I also like how if you really don’t want to do a work out you can replace it with a workout you feel better about. How ever it is to hard to do this and if you don’t know the name of the machine in your gym or workout you want to do it’s to difficult selecting a work out scrolling down to the video to see what it is then if it’s not the right one having to go all the way back select another workout ( that might not be the right one again) then repeating the process if it’s not. There should be a video next to each workout to show a snapshot of that workout so you don’t have to take the time selecting and reselecting workouts. I also feel like for 10 dollars a month it just doesn’t do enough for me when it comes to tracking workouts and progress. Needs more features for what your playing

Great app for beginners!. I never review iPhone apps, so this is kinda meaningful. This app is awesome! As someone who has messed around in the gym before, but ultimately just did the same exercises every day and not seeing results, this app is a lifesaver. I just put my headphones in, turn the app on, and go. When I go to the gym I don’t like to think about what I’m going to do next, and this app takes care of that! You tell it what you want to do (I’m doing a strength-training program), what your gym “level” is (I’m a beginner), and it creates a workout for you based on how long you want to workout for and for what muscles are “fresh”! This is especially great, because I typically workout 4 days in a row, so sometimes some muscles are way more sore than others, and the app knows that. I have used this app to keep my same weight, but start to put on some muscle! I have even caught my wife checking me out, which she hasn’t done in a while. All-in-all, this app is fantastic as a personal trainer that fits in your pocket. Yes, it does cost at most $10/mo (they have yearly plans for $60/year), but honestly that’s way cheaper than a trainer and this is basically doing the same thing. Definitely check this app out, if you’re a beginner or even an advanced gym rat! This will put together whatever kind of program you need, and if you stick with it I guarantee you’ll see results!

Long Time User. I’ve been using FitBod since they first started with Allen way back in the day. Is it perfect? Nope. But FitBod has helped me shed weight and be confident in the gym. I’m an ultra endurance athlete and I don’t think FitBod meets the needs for future Arnold’s and Hulks. If you’re like me and want to stay fit and strong, or save time in figuring out what to do today, then check out FitBod. I used to spend hours over the course of a year thinking about my routine, throwing in change ups, and walking around the gym just kinda doing whatever. With FitBod, I can get off work and hit the gym if the traffic is good and get straight to work. Weather I have 30 minutes or 1hr, FitBod has had a plan for me at any moment, and taking into account my past workouts to judge which muscles to work on. I can set up which gym and equipment is available which takes the guesswork out of substitutions. I have my work gym, hotel gyms, and apartment gyms, each with wildly different weight sets and busy times. I’ve learned that FitBod is reliable and the team keeps making great updates. Despite all this time, they’ve gotten better instead of becoming abandonware.

Frustrated. I am a beginner but I’m not in bad shape. I’ve been swimming for 4 years. I wanted to get out of the pool, many benefits with this app. I have the ability to customize my gym. You don’t have something? That’s alright! Just put it in the app. Want to change the workout for that area. Change it! Super easy to figure out. Really easy and practical to use. Don’t know how to do something? Don’t stress, they have a tutorial for that! I decided to do an at home workout as a beginner. I have worked out once or twice on land. I haven’t even finished the first set and the pain just made me stop. I walk for hours at my job I can’t be having leg pain that makes it hard to get up in the morning. Don’t let the word “beginner” fool you. This app is by far NOT for beginners. If you are a beginner. Do NOT use this app. I am now currently laying on my bedroom floor with the fan on full blast. Very frustrating and honestly giving up the idea of working out. Just going to deal with the diabetes when I get old and get married before I can’t walk down the aisle. If you have been working out for a while. Want to spice up your workout, tone your body, build muscle, learn new moves, THIS is the app for you. Otherwise just walk away before you end up like me...

Perfect for someone who knows nothing about working out. Hands down, this is the best fitness app I’ve used. I’ve tried several and found this to be the most fit for my needs. Since it pretty much builds my workout based on fresh muscle groups, I confidently walk into the gym knowing that I’ll just do what the app tells me to do. It also gives a great variety to your workouts so you’re not doing the same things everyday. I’ve learned so much about the gym equipment from this app. The explanations and videos are exactly what I needed for new workouts. Honestly, every time I walk out of the gym after using this app, I always find myself saying to myself “that was a great workout”. On top of that, I really like the replace feature. So if someone is using a piece of equipment outlined on my workout, I just replace it with a workout that exercises the same muscles. And on top of that, the ability to customize the equipment you have available in the gym was so helpful when Covid closed all the gyms down. At that time I was stuck with at home workouts and the two kettlebells I owned. Thanks to this app, I had no excuses to stop working out when the gyms were closed.

Completely Changed My Relationship with Fitness!. I started FitBod about a year ago and am SO happy I stumbled across this app!! After the changes that came with Covid, and being at home for two months, I was completely off my workout game. Pre-Covid I was an avid morning gym goer.. waking up at 5/530 to get to the gym and workout for an hour before heading to work by 8. When everything shut down last year, we fortunately had some decent at home weights and other things to help maintain a level of fitness, but I was all over the place with what I was doing. I was following random accounts on Instagram to get ideas, or different articles from health magazines, but felt my progress reversing. When I came across this app, it totally changed everything! It gave me focus and a proper regime for working different muscles. It’s helped me to explore new and different moves, and also make me more comfortable with equipment now that I’m back in the gym. I love that I can set up different gyms, depending on if I’m at home, traveling, or full access at a gym. I still incorporate some other exercises outside of this app, but this has added so much to my routine! Thank you FitBod!!!

Hits the spot. I’ve always enjoyed cardio workouts and had wanted to sprinkle some resistance training in, but never knew where to start, or what to track, or what equipment to use and how. This app was really the perfect gentle introduction. I’ve continued using it for over a year, and now I slightly prefer weight lifting to cardio, which I never expected. It did take me a bit to learn the main exercises, but once I got used to them, I couldn’t stay away from the app. The features are all really great - I can use it to generate a quick 15 minute workout or a longer 45 minute one, and can customize it depending on whether I’m at my work gym, my apartment gym, or not around any equipment at all, and based on my overall mood and what’s sore. Most of all I like the variety, both within and across each workout, and all the customizable features, and how it tracks logged workouts and recovering muscle groups. It all prevents exercising from getting stale and keeps me on my toes. I’ve enjoyed seeing the additional features over the past year, especially the “achievements” tracking, and am looking forward to getting more use from the app in the future.

Beginners luck. Six month update *** Still absolutely LOVE this app. It has made ALL the difference in my time at the gym as a beginning lifter. If you enjoy the feeling of clicking “done” at the end of a set to see progress, this is for you. If you need to see examples of how to do the exercises, this is for you. If you need to be pushed into exercises you didn’t know existed, again, this is for you. Well worth the money. I just open it, make adjustments based on how I’m feeling and then go. No thinking involved after that. Looking back at my past sets and seeing progress is phenomenal. My ONLY complaint is that it picks a few exercises and will not let them go. I love being asked to do new things, but it seems to be desperate for me to try some things over and over when there are even more new things to try. And that makes the reps get crazy high!! Doing 5 sets with 42 reps of ANY exercise is a LOT. I want it to cycle through all the things I haven’t done before it gets that high on one particular exercise. This would save the time replacing those with new things on my own before each exercise session. Otherwise, this is the best app I’ve ever paid for. Hands down. 100%.

An almost perfect home fitness app. I’ve been using Fitbod for a couple of months now and it’s proved itself to be worth the money. I’m fortunate to have some equipment at home, all I needed was some guidance on what to do with it. Fitbod has given me exactly what I needed and I’m seeing (and feeling) the results. It costs the same as the cheap gym membership I had, but gives me a plan to follow that is working better than a gym membership did. The functionality of the app is flawless. It gives you a lot of flexibility to customize your workout if you want to change the exercises that it generates. The navigation is easy and it integrates with Apple Health and Fitness. It provides a good post-workout summary and helps keep you motivated by letting you know when you’ve set personal records. Overall, I’m happy. My only gripe is that, while this app won’t let you forget about leg day, it seems to neglect chest and triceps exercises unless you manually change the muscle groups you want to work out. It’s easy enough to fix that, especially since it shows you how your muscles have recovered since you last worked them, but the point was to have an app that would guide me through full body fitness. For that reason, it falls just a little short of perfect for me. Regardless, I’m still happy overall with the app and plan to continue using it for the foreseeable future.

Good In Theory; Has Flaws. I’m not new to the world of weights. What I wanted was an app that generated workouts for me so I didn’t have to constantly try and come up with routines to push myself. What I loved about the app: fitness library is expansive, they ask you what equipment you have available and only recommend exercises based on it, thorough questionnaire to start, great demo videos, great UI. Now the downside: the recommended weights when you first start are insane, even after inputting your body weight and other info (wasn’t the biggest deal to me since I already knew what my starting weights were), no matter what type of plan you choose it always recommends high reps, low weights which is the opposite of what I was looking to do. I found myself constantly changing the entire workouts because no matter what settings I chose I couldn’t get it to adapt to the layout I wanted (compound movement first with accessory moves to follow; high weight low rep) and it was to the point where I was completely rebuilding the workouts which defeated the whole purpose of wanting an app that plans your workouts. The app UI is great and there are many great features but the backend programming needs some work.

A month in and never going back. I have been trying to get into working out for around 2 years now. I struggle with social anxiety so going to a gym and not knowing what to do or if I’m doing it right had been a BIG struggle. I had settled for 10 minute workout videos and running until I had a friend recommend this app. I’m OBSESSED. The algorithm works different muscle groups each workout so that I’m not doing just an “arm day” or “abs day”. Also, throwing in different exercises each day keeps me interested AND has proven to help my muscles. I love that you can change reps or weight for each round of an exercise as well. The videos and descriptions work perfectly to describe/show the correct form for the exercise. This not only helps my confidence in public but is super important for a beginner (to learn the correct form that is). As a student, it’s also really nice to be able to change gym profiles for at home/at summer apartment/at school. VERY handy. I also loveee the Apple Watch compatibility (calories don’t count unless they’re on the Apple Watch!) I’ve only been using the app for about a month but I am shocked at the amount of muscle i have added. This app really is like a personal trainer and adds room for personalization, the perfect mix.

Makes exercise easier. I have been using Fitbod for nearly three months now and it has made it so much easier to work out regularly. I find the hardest part of workouts for me has been choosing exercises and keeping track of what I am doing. Fitbod handles both of those tasks well and lets me focus on the workout. There are things I’d like to see added such as the ability to add certain exercises that are not there now. For instance, I have a concept2 erg for days I can’t get out and walk - but there is no option for adding rowing. And I often walk my golf rounds carrying my bag - but there is no way to add in the extra weight if I put walking in my log. But these are small inconveniences compared to the benefits I get from letting Fitbod plan my workout. When it does give me slightly squirrelly exercise lineups (like three variants of glute bridges one day last week) it is easy to pick other things. And i frequently read up on T nation and other places to understand how to have proper form on new exercises, since the instructions in Fitbod tend to be quite concise. In short, thank you Fitbod - I am already seeing improvements in areas where I was literally weak and that is all the motivation I need.

Good, not great. I gave the app a try on the free side and I gotta give it a mixed review. Part of me wants to use it and a part of me finds it pointless. It’s a decent app for tracking workouts, but the workouts provided aren’t all that. There’s a weird superset fetish with the app that makes it really annoying to even make your own routine. My favorite part has to be the soreness tracking, but it’s a bit redundant if you have a solid workout plan already. I think if you’re getting into fitness, it might be good enough to get you comfortable at the gym and with working out. However, if you’re an intermediate or advanced lifter, this app is pretty much replaceable with the notes app and a stopwatch. Also worth mentioning the rest timer is beyond annoying with its increments of time. Exercises like calf raises don’t require a lot rest time and the options there are odd numbers (going up from 15 seconds by increments of 10 so you can’t even select 30 seconds). I have to give it a 5.5/10 considering it’s a decent way to track soreness and get into fitness, but is also a bit redundant and easily replaceable. It’s also under $7 a month so it’s not egregiously priced if you follow the workout plans provided. However, if you’re sticking to a consistent routine for 3 months (which is what I do) then it’s a bit useless. You can buy better workout plans for cheaper and replace all the other functions easily. However, there is merit to it, just not for me.

LOVE this app....but..... Okay let me start off by saying I LOVE this app. I just take like 5-8 mins before my workout to log in everything I want to do. You have the option of telling the app what machines and weights you have available and it will give you ideas for workouts. You can make multiple profiles too. So, for example, you want to use it at the gym and home ....well you probably have different equipment at home than a gym. So you can create a home profile to tell it what equipment you have at home. And then another profile where you can use it at the gym with their equipment. The instructions and videos are very helpful as well for those workouts you don’t know very well yet but would like to try. It has made me sooo much more efficient instead of wandering around between sets wondering what to do next. The ONLY complaint I have (and why I didn’t give 5 stars) is because they don’t have as many different workouts as I like (for example, kickboxing and heavy bag workouts to name a few) and you don’t have the option of adding it. Other apps allow you to add your own workouts that aren’t listed in the app. Soo if any app developers are reading this right now ....please fix it and I will use this one religiously instead of bouncing between apps. It would really help eliminate competition because other than that feature, the app is unbelievable!!! And I would change my rating in a second to reflect how I feel

Great for my situation. Only been using this app for a little while, but have downloaded countless other apps in the past. This one has three giant advantages compared to others I've tested... 1: You're able to enter what equipment you own. I can't tell you how many times I've tried a workout app, and it tells me to do something on an incline, or on a pull-up bar. All I have are dumbbells, and don't want to buy other equipment at this time. With this app, it tailers your program based on what you already have. 2: You can tell the app what areas of the body to focus on. I'm currently rocking a hernia (one reason I'm trying to lose weight), so I have to avoid to much core exercises. If it suggests an ab workout, all I have to do is hit a couple buttons, and move to a different muscle group. Excellent for people with limitations. 3: It keeps track of which muscles have been pushed harder than the others, and will create your next workout to focus on other areas while giving the recently pushed areas a break. Muscles don't develop while working out, but rebuild while they rest. Overworking one muscle group daily will actually slow down your progress.

My new personal trainer!. Love this app. I have a home gym, but had fallen into a routine of exercises I knew and was comfortable with… so my progress slowed with training. Fitbod has totally shaken things up, and I feel fantastic! It gives you the ability to change/modify anything in its routine, and it targets different muscle groups with each workout so you get a full body workout over a few sessions. I can’t wait to see the results in a few months time.

Good when it works and doesn’t crash. Probably the most unstable app I have ever used. I purchased it as it was recommended as an app that worked with the Apple Watch and would allow me not to keep my phone with me in the gym. Unfortunately the app seems to rely on regular connectivity to the phone or it can’t remember what weight you last used and constantly crashes if you try to input a weight, or if you want to increase your weight e.g you have improved and want to increase weight mid set. The other annoying issue is if the app crashes you need to go back to your gym locker, open your phone and wait for it to reconnect to resume. Better to stick with the free or cheaper apps that don’t support the watch and keep your phone close by. I wouldn’t bother with a purchase as it is overpriced for the quality.

Wish I’d found it sooner. After filling in my details, the app designed a workout that was perfect for me. Since then I haven’t wanted to skip a workout and I felt better after 1 week using this app than I have in years of training myself. I think it’s perfect for anyone who just wants to get in, train hard, and get out. It does all the thinking for you and if you’re like me it pushes you to go further than you normally would. I’ve been reintroduced to a lot of exercises and body parts that I have neglected and I feel so much better for it. It’s literally like having the best personal trainer in your pocket for a fraction of the cost.

Great flexible app that works around a busy lifestyle. I’ve been using Fitbod app for over a year now and it’s been brilliant to fit in with my busy lifestyle where I’m on the road usually for at least 1 week each month. I had a gym membership previously but Fitbod suits me better. It will create workouts based on the equipment that I have at hand from my basic home gym, a well equipped hotel gym or even if there is no equipment!

Motivation in an app. I had been stopping and starting all sorts of different types of weight training for the last 2 years trying to find my mojo. Well I found it in the app. It is what I have always wanted in a journal. Easy adjust the reps or the weights. Adjusts them up the next time but also gives me the same muscle group but with different exercises to keep me keen. I signed up for the year without hesitation after three workouts and trialing the other apps such as Strong and FitnessAI

Makes Workouts Fun & far more Productive. I’d been working out regularly for a few years but just kept doing the same few exercises & although I was spending a fair bit of time in the gym, I wasn’t getting much of a return. About this time last year, I decided to try a few different apps to try & get more out of all the time I was spending in the gym. I liked Fitbod the best as it lets you creat different gym profiles, every workout is different (unless you create your own), there’s a picture of which muscles need recovery, it tracks all your progress & at the end of each workout there’s a little hit of dopamine-inducing fireworks! 🎉 More than this, the results speak for themselves & I’ve doubled my strength in many muscle groups & am so much fitter than I was before! As a rock climber, my only wish for improvement would be to add a hang board into the equipment list (please request this if you’re a climber too!). Overall, I love it however & recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic results!. I just hit my 100 workout mark effectively making the app $1 per session at the quality of a personal trainer. So far I’ve lost 31kg using the app. I love the fact that I don’t have to think about what I have to do at the gym. I just turn up and go with the flow of the app. It’s definitely getting me to where I wanna go in my life. I strongly recommend the app and enjoy it thoroughly.

Fix the little but important things. I love this app but when syncing with my Apple Watch , the timer glitches , resting period also glitches when my Apple Watch screen is not on . As soon as I’m working out and the “ Duration” is meant to be counting down it will stop, until my Apple Watch screen is back on. Issues like these are what stop Fitbod from being a 5 star app and if these issues aren’t fixed I’ll start looking else where for my go to exercise app.

Not value for money, so far.... I’ve recently paid for a subscription to discover that the weights from my previous workouts have not transferred to the workouts designed for me by the app. Rather, the suggested weights are like 1kg so I have to try to remember back to the last time I did the activity to find the weight I’d previously used (I could not view this once I had commenced the workout). This is very frustrating and I Hope is a newbie glitch. I also am not sure how to, say, due a leg workout if the app thinks I am due for an upper body workout. It isn’t user friendly in this respect. I like that I can easily find replacement activities and build supersets, but overall I am disappointed thus far.

Brilliant app. I’ve been using this app for over a year now and it’s been great. It makes programming workouts so much easier. I especially like that I can generate workouts that only use the equipment I have available. I also like how the app keeps things fresh by recommending a variety of exercises that I wouldn’t otherwise try out. Well done!

Failing. Used to be okay. Too many bugs. Both phone and watch are updated but no improvement to functionality. Phone to watch doesn’t sync so you end up logging 2 workouts. Opens to the same workout every time so needs to be refreshed to get variation. Sometimes just fails mid workout so you loose your workout data. It’s a very good app when it works, particularly as I have a home gym and it helps track based on what equipment I have to use. But will be considering other options based on recent performance.

Great app but the spam emails.. The app is alright I wouldn’t put it up there with the best on the market, the different exercises library is so basic, many exercises aren’t listed nor is there anyway that I know of to add a custom exercise to a workout routine. I would like to see the 3 work out sessions extended to possibly 5 before being asked to pay a monthly or yearly subscription, however the serious down turn is the email spamming it is absolutely ridiculous how many emails I’m sent by this application and for that I’ve decided to truely down rate the product. I’ve paid for a monthly subscription, however honestly do believe I’ll stop using once it’s done and look for something more.

Up... Down... More Energy. Fitbod has definitely kept me motivated to work out near everyday since downloading the app. The workouts so far have been within my current abilities after being injured. Having the ability to replace certain exercises in my workout is a huge benefit. If I have one qualm it would be that the app didn’t ask about any injuries when initially asking about ability, health and goals.

Such an easy weight workout app. This is my second year with this app and I’ll admit I didn’t use it enough in the first 12 months. Now I am in a better space and this app is great! Videos, instructions, replacement exercises, you can target muscle groups and so much more. I really can’t fault it. We pay for a yearly subscription and it’s totally worth it because then you know the company will invest in making the app better. I love it !!

Best app for weightlifting. I do weight training from a fairly well equipped home gym and find this app the best for putting together workouts based on the equipment I have. It’s a quick and easy process too. I like that you can specify the desired length of the workout and can opt out of body weight exercises being included into the workouts generated (I find these really boring personally). I also like the various options available for warms ups, cool downs and cardio. Also, the catalog of exercises is impressive. There have been some that I have not come accross before which I have ended up loving. The app is the best I have tried so far. My only suggestions (not complaints) would be the option to specify which weight plates you have available in your home gym, the same way you are able to specify the dumbbells you have. Also, it would be cool if more landmine exercises could be added into the catalog of available exercises as well as the option to create fixed programs. Great app. Thank you!

A pleasure to use 👌🏻. After testing the free version, happily paid for this app, it just works extremely well and is a pleasure to use, especially on Apple Watch which leaves me to watch educational videos while I workout on my iPhone without having to ‘alt tab’ between video and gym app every 30secs. I entered in my weights workouts and shared them with my PT so he can send the templates to his other clients too ready to use immediately 💪🏻

Customisation is a trade off. Would like to create a week’s worth of training and choose days with weights and days only bodyweight. Would like to choose my exercises for each of these days and save as one profile so it tracks and suggests gains. Fitbod doesn’t seem to be able to do this. Sure I can create a profile for each day but that doesn’t work with preview upcoming workout. If you are a beginner with no clue but general aims, it’s a good app. But I’ll go back to looking for something flexible and more intuitive. Cheers.

Super happy, thoughtful features. [Update: Just had to add how impressed I am with how responsive the developers are to feedback. I’ve only ever provided feedback on a couple other apps in the past, and didn’t get much of a response. This team are clearly passionate about making this app awesome for their users; they reply promptly, and have even let me know about some stuff in their project queue. Very happy to pay for a subscription for app creators like this.] Super happy with the app and looking forward to future developments. So many thoughtful little features, like adding warm up sets to your program, or changing your muscle focus areas. I use it daily, and will continue to.

Incredible. This app has created the easiest workout, takes out all the planning and sets up the workout to your own specific Instructions, taking into account your previous workouts and how each muscle group has recovered. This has encouraged me to workout more due to the ease of use and incredible results already showing. Highly recommend

Fantastic. But doesn’t flow well during workout. The app has some amazing features. Anyone reading this definitely just try it for one month at least. One thing though is the weight recommendations seem to very commonly be things like 12kg or 16kg. In almost every gym ever after 10kg the increments go up in 2.5kg. Please fix this for convenience and ease of use mid workout.

If you invested in a home gym then you need this. Like most people over the pandemic my gym closed and I ended up converting a room into a home gym. I have limited equipment and so most of my workout routines became obsolete. This app has let me take advantage of my equipment and prioritise additional purchases based on utility to me. If you spent cash on home equipment do yourself a favour and get this app.

This app works. I have been weight training on and off for about 10 years, but never went more than once or twice a week. It was enough to maintain some light strength but I was unmotivated and only had a handful of exercises that I repeated. FitBod changed my body shape within a month, with much more obvious definition on all the smaller muscles that I was forgetting about - which creates a more healthy-looking overall tone. I think the app is so successful because of the way it motivates you to try new things every session, but doesn’t make you feel bad if you just opt for what you prefer. It keeps things interesting, helps you with technique, and takes away all the guesswork. I thought I was one of those people who just can’t really grow much muscle but I was wrong. I’ve never felt stronger or healthier.

Apple Music + Fitbod Perfect for the gym!. Overall this is a great app for the gym. May it be for newbies or even the more experienced. Well thought of idea to include the muscular anatomy that shows which muscles have been worked recently. Still some UI issues I would love to see fixed in an updated version, for example: When pressing 'Log workout' or 'finish set' it would be good if it showed a larger timer ⏱ and the next exercise maybe? More often I am fiddling with the phone to much to see what exercise to do next. This happens on circuits and supersets the app suggests. The mute notifications needs to be introduced when a workout starts IMO and maybe a unique sound when the timer is up. That's my 2 cents... keep up the work and I really look forward to see where your team can take this app.

Awesome app but. I really love this app it completely changed the way I train and I have seen amazing results. However, sometimes the app acts up. For example, I want to add an extra muscle group to my exercise and it will take out another and this has embers every time I used the app after the most recent update. I also would like an option to change the start of the week from Sunday to Monday. Thanks Keep up the good work😊👍

Wonderful fitness app!. Takes the guesswork out of progressive overloading. Very customisable. Get a strong sense that the creators know their stuff and know what they’re doing. Also very affordable on an annual plan. Noticeably seen my size increase since using the app. One suggestion: Set an option that supersets always use the same weight, irrespective of the exercise. It’s time consuming to change weights between sets. Keep up the good work!

Everything I’ve wanted in a fitness app. It’s like my prayers were answered when I found this app, it’s everything I’d been looking for in one place. It gives you countless options so you don’t keep redoing the same exercises, keeps track of your progress and notifies you when it’s time to workout. Everything is completely customisable too. I never subscribe to apps but this one is definitely worth it. I look forward to using it in the next 12 months!

Bugs making app unusable. I’ve been a paying customer of Fitbod for over a year now. When it works the app is fine but that is increasingly rare. For the following reasons I cannot recommend this app. Problem 1: Unreliable The app will at least once a week forgot whole exercises, whole sets and only record part of one exercise. This is infuriating because you don’t realize until it’s too late. All of the data is lost and has to be re entered from memory. Problem 2: App Software Errors The app upon creating new workouts manually will throw up an un clearable error requiring the App to be closed and re started, often losing the set data entered. Problem 3: Apple Watch Bugs The Apple Watch app will open randomly and need to be closed multiple times even if no active activity is occurring on the iPhone. Problem 4: No Reply from Customer Support I’ve reached out to customer support using the app feature regarding these issues. No reply was provided. These issues have been prevalent for months and appear more frequently recently. I’ve lost faith in Fitbod and will be looking elsewhere.

Changed the way I work out!. Cannot speak more highly of this app! For such a long time, I was struggling to find motivation. Stuck with a mundane routine, and couldn’t find any interesting replacements. Along comes FitBod, and it’s free trial of a workout program, claiming to customise itself based on my fitness level and previous workouts logged. Well, there is a reason I decided to stick around after the trial ended. Variety, challenges, and sweat-breaking workouts, all tied into a well designed, snappy app. I have my motivation back, feel like I’m smashing goals, and most of all, seeing results! Thank you FitBod!

Great app. Great app, worth the annual fee for a PT on my phone basically. I love that it creates different workouts for you, shows you how to do the workouts if you’re unsure, can choose gym equipment or body weight exercises, can also choose what equipment and weights you have at home. The app also shows which muscles you have worked, are in recovery etc and can choose a goal that tailors your workouts. Have been using the app for 2 years now.

Couldn’t Be Happier!. I’m normally quite skeptical about purchasing full versions of apps because most of the time, the price doesn’t equate to what’s offered by the developer. I’m only 2 workouts into the 3 free workouts and have already decided I’m going to purchase the full version. I’ve been using Nike Training Club for a while now but it doesn’t adapt to progress like Fitbod does. I’d like the option to change kcal to kJ though. Maybe it’s there and I’m not looking hard enough. I was going to hold out and see if a promotional offer would come up for a discounted full version price but after using the app I’m excited to start straight away. Love your work!

I use this app 3x a week. I love this app. I’ve been using it every time I workout, it took about 12 months (or a recent update) to actually do what it was marketed for - generate a workout tailored for me. For the first 12 months I created my own workouts, which the app worked brilliantly for! Excellent if you’re a self motivated person and like to tick ALL the boxes in a full body workout. The app is also great for creating a stretching routine, you can even turn it into a timed yoga flow if set the sequences up right. Overall, love the app, love it even more now that it generates tailor made workouts for me.

Mostly excellent with a few flaws and a high price tag.. Overall an excellent, easy to use app. On the positive side this is a superb app if you want to just get to the gym and workout. No need to plan, no need to think about what to do. Just a turn up to the gym, start the app, follow the plan and leave. Workouts are tailored to your freshest muscle groups and you can easily track your progress. The app has helped me develop a habit of going to the gym. The most annoying thing about this app is the erroneous weights it suggests. Perhaps the developers have never been to a gym outside of the USA, if they had they’d know that you never see 16kg or 18kg dumbbells, they are always 15, 17.5, 20, etc. Same with cable machines, the suggested weights don’t match standard metric gym equipment. It’s no big effort to select a different weight then manually change the weight in the app but it is slightly annoying in an otherwise seamless app. Why not just have the weights standardised to real world gym equipment? Lastly this app is expensive. At AU$90 per year it is something I would use for a year to develop a habit and routine but probably not keep paying for every year. A one off $90 fee and more modest subscription cost would seem more appropriate for the content.

A happy user. I’ve had a great time using Fitbod and have been getting a lot healthier. However, I have found it difficult to track my progress. I would suggest adding a feature where you can check on your PB, growth, projected 1RM, etc. for each exercise, not just after completing a workout. This way everyone would be able to clearly see if they have made progress for each muscle group or exercise and then add to to their next one if they want. Just a suggestion.

So far so good. Only done 3 workouts with this app and so far I’m loving it. It takes the thinking out of your workout and I’m really enjoying how it so customisable to the equipment I have. I had been using another fitness app for years and got board of how it was just the same workout on repeat and rarely updated, FitBod seems that it will keep bing updated to my fitness level and come up with different exercises. Definitely worth the purchase.

Best in class. My favourite thing about Fitbod is that it doesn’t get in the way of the workout. It is easy to change exercises, reps or weights on the fly and tailor the exercises to the equipment your gym has or your preferences. You can set up multiple ‘gyms’ and tailor the equipment and exercise types. I have a setup for my main gym for weights training and a home gym for body weight training only, and it was simple to set up. The iPhone and watch interfaces are straight forward and clean and easy to use while at the gym. I like how it highlights muscle groups that might be fatigued and those that are fresh, and tailors workouts to suit your recovery. I don’t think any other app does this so well. While I don’t love subscription models, as long as the developers keep improving this great app I’m happy to pay. Thank you!

Could have been 5 stars. Among all apps I’ve tried, this app is perfect for my needs. I like that I can choose which equipment are accessible to me and the app will tailor the exercises based on the availability of equipment. I also like that I can substitute exercises. Best of all, I love that I can track my progress where I can log the reps and weights that I have performed. It’s the best fitness companion app and it’s easy to use. Why 4 stars? I wish I can log my other exercises such as pilates, yoga, boxing, and more. I only log exercises based on the exercises available in the app. Because of this, I am not able to log the other exercises that I am doing. It doesn’t give justice to my other efforts.

Best app on the market. Downloaded this app after trying MANY fitness apps and this is heads and shoulders above the rest. I love the ability to program which gym equipment you have, what your fitness goals are and that it calibrates each workout for you based on your feedback. Won’t be getting rid of this anytime soon, fantastic for both my husband and I to use.

Exactly what I wanted. Three stars because of what I mention at the end of my review. Hopefully that gets the dev’s attention. Otherwise the app deserves 5 stars. Beautiful interface, great exercises, easy to use, explains exercises well with good videos, tracks all the things I want. Super happy. Two improvements I really want are for the ‘Log Set’ button to be about three times bigger - it’s annoyingly easy to miss while you’re working out, and the other improvement is that sometimes when entering the rep count for a max effort set, the rep field automatically tabs across to the weight field after typing one number even though I’m trying to type a two digit number. Definitely an annoying little bug when you’ve just completed a max effort set and you don’t want to be bothered by your phone.

All round excellent but with small errors. It's a fantastic app to use for your workouts and has invigorated me to really take control of my fitness. I have noticed smaller things like spelling errors across instructions for excersies, and when doing something like an assisted dip or pull up it still shows the highest value input as the app belives the higher wait makes it harder when it is very much the opposite. I'd like to see more customisable export of data options and the ability for people with the app to share workouts with each other.

Poor Workout Design. I selected 4 x 45 minute, full-body workouts per week with a strength focus, using normal gym equipment and intermediate level for 52yo male. First workout began with barbel bicep curls. Ok. Then moved in to a narrow-grip barbell bench press supersets with DB shoulder press. The WARMUP set recommended for shoulder press was 5 x 30kg. I’m no weakling, but that’s not a warmup set! The working sets were 10 x 20kg. Next was cable rows supersets with burpees. Biceps were already pre-fatigued so I had to do the cable rows on a lighter weight than I would have liked. Next was barbell bench press. Thing is, my chest and triceps (and shoulders) were pre-fatigued, compromising my performance on bench (not to mention injury risk). That was as far as I got in 45 minutes, and no major leg muscle groups were programmed. I took a sneak peak at the next workout, which was programming bench press, squats, deadlifts, pull-ups and RDLs (plus other exercises) all in the same workout…supposedly in 45 minutes! I deleted the app and would not recommend based on my experience with it

Really good but.... Loving the learning programs, it’s opened me up to a heap of exercises I’ve never done and machines I’ve never used - thankfully my gym has most of ‘em. But using beginner weight trainings settings, the fresh muscles routine didn’t program either triceps or calves. And similar for full body it was missing calves. I added calves manually but it didn’t keep it added for the next workout. Please add all muscles groups to both these routines in the next update, then I’d be happy to give a 5 star rating. 👍

Great App and variety of exercises. The app provides a great variety of exercises to suit your ability but also to suit what equipment you have access to. I like that it provides different exercises each time so you don’t get bored of the same/repetitive exercises . It keeps me motivated as I look forward to doing something different each day.

Highly recommend for long term gain. I’ve been using Fitbod for three years and love it! It keeps me consistent and helps me achieve my physical goals. I love that my hubby and I both use it, we can do a workout together but most times I use the upper and lower body split with cardio and he uses it for each muscle group. We have very separate goals but we can work together to achieve them with fitbod.

Awesome app. Been using the app for well over a year now and still love it. Highly recommend and have even told a few friends who are also using it. Well worth it. Does everything a trainer does and the variety is awesome too. Plus you can suit your gym and tick machines they have to suit your work outs.

Do not use if you are not professionally trained and know how to take care of your body. I sustained a long term lower back injury using this app because I am not a professional fitness expert with no training and with the ability to just set whatever you see fit as your own goals and training and with no proper instructions other than really crappy videos, I do not recommend anyone use this app unless they are well trained and equipped in the exercises already. I am not happy and this back injury doesn’t look it’s going away anytime soon.

Not good for beginners lifters. I have used this app for almost two months now. It has great number of workouts. It gives you freedom of choosing your workout style, let you select your body parts, let you change the workout reps and time. However, when it comes to generating a workout, the apps gives workout in really poor order. For example, if I select back and biceps workout, the app would ask me perform few biceps exercises first which is not ideal because if my small muscle bicep is tired how I am supposed to lift heavy for my back training. Same goes chest and triceps. Sometimes asking me to perform bench press on 8th exercise when my muscles are super tired. I understand the app lets you change the exercises but the whole point of me spending the money was to get rid of thinking my workouts. I have not a trained a single day without changing my workout.

Review from an Exercise Scientist. As an exercise scientist myself, I have found this app one of the most useful and cost effective tools for exercise programming in the market. I have researched and used many tools, and Fitbod really hits the mark with its ability to not only program the exercises for you, but also track progress over time. The ability to customise programming based on number of days, type of exercises, type of equipment used, etc., means the app is truly customisable to almost anybody. Recommended for people of all abilities to give it a go and see the difference. Keep doing what you are doing Fitbod team!

Great functionality. Great app! Has everything I need. Can customise depending on what you’re after (strength training, HIIT, bodybuilding etc.) can choose whether you want intervals or straight sets. Can add what equipment you have and it will customise workouts using only that equipment. Can swap out exercises easily and gives the option for good swaps. Tracks the weight you’re using so you can track your strength. Has an optional timer function which beeps when the next set is up (and customisable to what length you want). Also sends reminders with what your workout will be for that day which keeps me accountable.

Everything you want. I’ve been using this app for years now and it keeps my strength training varied and challenging. The app is clean and easy to use, the videos are clear, and tech support has always been prompt. The design, tracking and achievements are everything you want and nothing you don’t.

Repeats the same Exercises. This App definitely has some great features like building a new workout for you daily by the muscle groups you want to work. After using it for a while now I have come to realise that it keeps repeating the same boring exercises daily. The annoying thing is that there are basically NO exercises that involve squats with weights . It only gives you options of Glute bridges and leg raises when I have mine selected to dumbbells. It’s extremely frustrating and I’m now super bored of the App so will be unsubscribing.

Great app. Please provide a way to let app not to calculate weight while inputting. If I want to bench with 25lbs plate, I’ll want to input weight as 95lbs, currently when I do 95, app automatically thinks total weight as 95 + 95 + 45

So far so good. I liked it enough to subscribe and keep it going. Sometimes the reps are easy, others are a challenge. So maybe it’s me or maybe it’s the algorithm still making calculations. But when you can type in the gear you have and it chooses for you, that’s pretty great. No going out and buying expensive gear, unless you want to. Or if you need to up your weight. Loving it so far

Incredible.. Absolutely love this app. My strength gains are consistent and beyond all expectations. Just as important, my physique is being sculpted like I’ve never seen it before... Get this app. Follow it. Eat well. You will love the results.

This app has changed my life. Request for the team at FITBOD Please add OBLIQUE exercises to the app!!! I want to say this app has single handedly transformed the way I perceive fitness and I recommend this app to anyone who is just beginning.

Huge design flaw. Tried to renew my subscription, paid the money, and my account is still locked out. Completely unable to restore a subscription through the app. Now I’m paying for something I can’t use while I wait for someone to finally get back to me and correct it.

I love the app but. I love this app. Great workout day suggestions. However I have huge frustration with the support team as they Do Not listen. The app has a huge flaw. When I configured for strength as my workout option I should be getting low reps and high weight exercises. Instead I get options with 22 reps. I logged tickets to No Avail. Too bad really. I have to manually change the workout every day.

Apple Watch issues. Edit: after all these years, the app still have the same issues. Only solution: don’t use the app with the Apple Watch opened if you don’t want to have sync issues. A shame for a workout app… Pleaseeee improve your Apple Watch integration. There are too many issues during synchronisation, or if you use both your phone and watch during the workout. I had a lot of problem with the Apple Watch integration 2 years ago and I switched to another app. 2 years later, there are so many problems.

Rip off!. I was super impressed with the app, even without having to pay, I necessarily don’t need all the extras. Then I discovered after 3 workouts, you have to pay the $60 a year for it to work!!!! I JUST want a n easy way to log my exercises!!!!!

Excellent App. Overall an awesome workout app that helps keep your exercises fresh. My only complaint is it doesn’t seem to account for muscle fatigue from supersets or previous moves in the workout when selecting weight/ reps for later moves. Which can be discouraging as it makes it feel like you’re getting weaker by not hitting the targets

Price is WAAAAY too high. Huge rip off

Is this even for women??. I love the workouts it formulates, but it should recognize the strength differences between men and women and it doesn’t. Most of the weight recommendations were too low for lower body and WAY too high for upper body. I mean, 120lbs lat pull down and 55lbs dumbbell rows? As a 140lbs woman??? You’re kidding right?

Love this app but ... I have been using this app for 2 years now. I saw a lot of improvement and it help me a lot. But I think you guys can add more exercises to it. The fit world have improved and so you have to.. but I give you 5 starts 😍❤️

WONDERFUL APP. Would be lost without it. App sets my routine for the gym

Best workout app out there. Best workout app I've used. Simple and detailed, the tracking of recovered muscle groups is awesome, and to customize your workouts with the equipment you have, it's perfect. Bravo

Great app. This is a great app. It allows you to customize your workouts from home or even the gym. It has allowed me to keep on track and not get bored when working out.

Not Working!!. Have been using this app since May and it’s been amazing but since December it’s super slow, crashes my phone, and often doesn’t even record my workouts anymore

Love it!.. Organizes, tracks and motivates me and keeps me progressing gradually without getting hurt

Love the workouts and options. Absolutely enjoying the app, exercises and options available. A few finicky user friendly issues that would make it a 5 star if fixed.

Good app but not free. I found it thinking it was a free app when I searched for it but it turned out to charge me and stop my work outs after taking my data

Good but... Honestly, its a good app but there are some bugs that dont seem to be the priority to the developers. For example. The are muscle groups to choose from to create a workout. The option is given to choose a secondary muscle (calf, traps, forearms etc.) but when you click on save it doesnt generate automaticaly. I have contacted support and searched the forums and it hasnt been fixed in a year. Why buy this app that is supposed to create your workout when you end up having to create it yourself. I might be picky but for an advance weightlifter, ill just save my money and create my own workouts. There are TONS of free workouts online and free apps. Thanks

Really good. Best workout app I’ve used. Gives greats suggestions, easy to change. Love you can adapt whatever you need during if something changes. I like all the stats. The only think I would change is for the “type” of workout you can do there is just pull , push , upper body , lower body and recovered muscles I believe. Sometimes I like doing weeks of days that do like back and bi, then chest tri, abs shoulders, leg day, and it won’t auto populate a focused muscle groups on its own. You have to daily change it to the groups you want, which is fine if you know how to plan / how things should looks sometimes but for someone new they wouldn’t know. Very happy I bought it and been using about 4 months now 3-5 days a week.

IT SHOULDNT COST MONEY FOR A PERSON TO WORKOUT!!!. I don’t want to have to pay for me to do my workouts!!!

Not user friendly. It’s not user friendly. It’s very confusing to use the app.

Need a family plan!. I LOVED this app until my free trial ran out. At that point I couldn’t use it since my husband is already using it on the same apple family sharing plan. We would pay more for a family plan that we could both use.

Great app, couple things can be fixed. Noticed couple glitches: - in the long list of exercises about every seventh is blinking for some reason - when I try to change target muscle groups for the upcoming training after I press Save everything goes back to how it was and exercises stay the same (no possibility to change muscle groups, only to change every exercise manually and then I have to change stretches respectively) - once training is started a cannot open other parts of the app - training just stops if I do - the most annoying - on the icon for hamstrings muscles aren’t shown equally on the left and right side, please fix this 🥺 Overall love the app

Best app for home gym!. Love this for more than a year! Fitbod changed my body with minimal equipment.

Pay to use. You have 3 workout sessions, then you have to pay to keep using. Should be more upfront about that. Good app otherwise but that tainted it for me.

What a app. One of the best work out apps don’t have to pay tons of options and it’s awesome

Changed the way I workout. Been using this app for a month and I love it. Can’t wait to see how this product and company evolves.

Excellent. I have been into physical fitness for many years. Recently gave up my gym membership and purchased my own equipment. I was getting frustrated with the Covid restrictions, and not being able to book a time to go, or the club being completely shut down. The app keeps things fresh and created workouts based on the equipment I have. I have noticed tremendous change in my strength, and my physical appearance. I highly recommend this app.

Stopped working! Very frustrating!. This app stopped recording my workouts after two weeks and it won’t recognize any of my workouts now, so it won’t generate any new workouts for me! It would be fine if this was a free app but I paid for it! Very frustrating to deal with. Please fix your broken app!!!

Paywall city. Everything is locked behind a paywall. Was expecting at least the simple workouts to be free. Very disappointed at the price as well. Money hungry pricks

10 months later and very happy with my progress. I wanted to wait a while before reviewing this app to really be fair. I’ve been consistently weightlifting by following its programming for the past 10 months and I’m very impressed and happy with my results! Seeing my 2022 recap really put things into perspective. I really like how this app recommends specific weights and set/rep counts. It celebrates new PRs in weight, projected 1 rep max, rep count, and volume, which adds a nice layer of gamification to help with motivation. It’s really nice to have the exercises switch up too, to keep things interesting. I’ve also appreciated the recent UI updates. It used to be a bit awkward and unintuitive to change between different gym settings (standard, at home, etc.), or different splits. Now these are on the main screen of the app. I’ve recommended this app to my fellow gym rat friends and I recommend it to anyone else who wants to get stronger without hiring a (human) personal trainer.

Powerful and easy to use. Great workout designs with easy customizations for current soreness and available equipment and time.

So fun. It is so cool because you can change the workout if you don’t have the equipment and it shows you how much calories you burned

Exercice. Exercices complets avec des démonstrations bien claires pour une bonneexécution...👍👍👍

Used to work. The generated workouts used to match my criteria .... but they now fall short. I reached out to customer service and they offered a fix, which worked for a week or two before things started to break again. I’m really disappointed because the workouts are great when the app generates them correctly, but that no longer happens.

Awesome. Complete, lots of options, many many training possibilities, overall, love the app

Best App !. Just give it time and you won't be able to live without. it litteraly does everything you want and you can follow your progress. i just started going to the gym i don't really know what to do but the app saves live show you how to pose what to stretch before/after, you can even select how long you want to stay and which muscles you want to work🤯😭 just be patient tho the app won't know what you want from the start but you can help it by rating/reviewing the exercises 🤌 or just totally replace or delete 🫠

Latest version broken.. I’ve uninstalled the app because the last update caused the quads to be selected as a muscle group no matter what. Even if you deselect the group, when you save it is shown again. No matter what you can’t get rid of the quads selection.

Awesome. I got a discount on black friday and even at normal price it’s still worth it i lost 30 pounds combined with a proper nutrition since nov. Customer support responds and for a newbie like me it’s good to change on the fly when in a small gym for muscle groups. I hope they expand this app for more muscle group reach and especially a “deload” routine. Syncs well with my apple watch.

Good app. I love it, for the price it should come with a +1 profile for a spouse/gym partner.

Nice but needs a few features to be perfect. An easy replacement feature like “replace with kettlebell” or “replace with barbell” would really help. I feel I spend lots of time getting the replacements. Other thing that would be cool to have is the sounds notification adjustment.

Good App. Been on it for two years and it helped me to begin my body building journey.

Amazing. I’ve only just started using this app but it’s by far the best app I’ve ever used. Well worth the price.

Great app! Hoping for rest timer support. Great app, helping me work out consistently and try new exercises Would love to see some more settings for rest timers, to see them on various screens or be able to move out of Fitbod without cancelling it. Just a setting to control it for would be all I ask :)

Pretty good. Pretty good app, a little confusing tho at times. Devs for barbell workouts, can u specifically indicate amount of weight per side (ie 45lbs plate per side). And any way to change default setting to lbs? Otherwise great app with a lot of variety of workouts. Thanks for adding rest time!

Great. Helped me a great amount in the gym. Like that my apple watch can pair up with the app and track data

Doesn’t show up on Apple Watch. I like the app and everything but I don’t get why it doesn’t show on my Apple Watch, just on my phone.

Amazing. Absolute great app, super helpful and is keeping me consistent, not sure where I’d be without it, highly recommend. Great features and super easy to use. Great job

Save your money, there are alternatives. I’ve paid the subscription for over a year and I cannot believe I have been dealing with the constant desyncing issues between the phone and watch apps. In addition , after a year of activity this app suddenly stopped syncing with Apple health and activity so that was the first deal breaker. I have always been frustrated with the generated workouts. I’m no expert but I selected body building as my goal and yet the generated workouts would come up with crazy super sets. I finally got fed up with a super set of 21 bicep curls and 22 hammer curls. That is crazy no one should be doing 43 reps per set for biceps, you have to use very light dumbbells to even do that many reps. The app also likes to keep increasing body weight reps each time while never increasing the weight for bench press. Again I’m not an expert but I feel like if you want to build strength it is better to do like 8 reps with full plates meanwhile the app wants you to do 15 reps with 25 pound plates every time. These issues would be fine for a free app but this is 10 dollars a month. I have already found other apps that are cheaper and actually sync properly with the Apple Watch and Apple health app so I cannot recommend this app.

Easy to use and understand. Provides awesome insights on recovery and is worth it.. I have previous experience weightlifting and exercising. I lost touch with that part of my life a few years ago and have been trying to get back into exercising. I wanted body weight workouts but google doesn’t work like it used to. All you get now are inexperience people trying to sell you courses when you google exercises to get back into shape. Fitbod had a free thing going on due to covid and out of all the apps I tried, this was the one I trusted the most and was most straight to the point. I like the fact that I can use it with my Apple Watch and phone at the same time. It also logs workouts and shows and estimated recovery percentage on each muscle group used in workouts. I liked it so much I went ahead and bought a plan so I could start my journey into fitness again. I’m not too out of shape or not overweight I just haven’t worked out in a long time and felt some doubt in my abilities to put my own routines together. This app is great.

Perfect for beginners. I’m always super nervous at the gym! I’m new to weight machines and I always feel like I don’t know what I’m doing with dumbbells. This app is SO HELPFUL. It gives clear instructions, videos and helps me track my progress. If I’m doing something brand new it started suggesting what weight to use based on what I typically lift, and it always gives me fresh workouts. I’ve learned a lot, I feel more confident in my form and I like the variety. It also customizes your workout to what you have available to you (body weight only, free weights, machines or everything). You have complete control over your workouts and compared to most trainers, coaches, workout apps etc, it’s fairly priced. I do wish it had a built in timer that actually worked (mine never does) but I have a stopwatch built into my phone, it’s not the end of the world. Waiting for them to add pause/play/skip for music so you don’t have to go out of the app! Try it out, 30 trial is totally worth using-even just to learn a few new things! Will be buying the year membership.

Frustrated that you can’t add your own exercises. While I generally like the app for tracking my workouts it is limited in what exercises are listed and there is no way for you to add your own exercises to the app. If you only do traditional exercises then you are probably fine but if you try to incorporate full body exercise or exercises with multiple motions then it is sorely lacking. The same is true for incorporating stretches. The lists is limited. And there is no way to request new exercises be added inside the app. You have to go to the website and cross your fingers that maybe other people want it enough to show up on their radar. They claim that their reasoning is their algorithm and tracking muscle groups. The simplest way to handle that is don’t incorporate those created exercises into your algorithm. I honest don’t care about that part of the app anyway. I don’t need videos or descriptions of my own exercises. I just want to track what I do. It’s become frustrating enough for me that I am looking for a different workout tracking app.

4.5 Stars Great, but Not Quite perfect. I love the design of this app. The app gives you the option of selecting the equipment you have access to (at home or at your gym). Then it can generate or recommend workouts based on that info. For example, I have access to adjustable dumbbells (5-52.5 lbs) and a smith machine. I was able to mention that in the app. You can prepare and adjust the rest timers for specific exercises. And you can even schedule warm-up sets. Also, you can exclude certain exercises from the recommendations list. This is almost everything you need! Cons: I wish that the rep count for planned workouts would not cap at 29. I also would have liked the option to add custom workouts. Also, I hate the fact that you have to add an exercise to your workout before you can see the instructional video for it. That is actually a major headache. This app is almost worth the annual subscription, but not quite there. If the features that I wished for were there, I would have happily paid $60/year for access to the full version of this app and given the app a 5-star rating.

Best workout app I’ve seen!. I started using this app after having a personal trainer for years. I had been wanting to start doing it on my own but struggled with putting workouts together that I knew made sense. This app very closely matches the kind of workouts I would do with my trainer, which makes me confident it isn’t asking me to do things that don’t make sense. It is also good about the way it groups exercises together, as in they are appropriate to do together, but also the order they list them in. Even asking you to do max reps every now and then to keep you from plateauing. It is the most customizable I’ve seen, and the most helpful. Giving detailed instructions with videos if you are unfamiliar with the exercise. I even got my boyfriend to start using it who is new to lifting and is intimidated by the gym. This app is the only reason I have finally been able to quit paying $60 a session for training twice a week. Now I pay close to that for a years subscription for the same workouts. I never leave reviews but had to because I love this app sooooooo much!!!

Great app for the solo workout. I am just getting back into the gym after a lengthy layoff (5 years and two kids later). I have always been athletic and active, but I was never a gym rat. I lifted just enough to know what I was doing and get it in. Now that I’m older and my joints can handle the sports as well, lifting is going to be a bigger part of my gym experience. So, for me, FitBod is great, because it gives me exercises that I wouldn’t normally do, or have never done, and I walks me through how to do them. I have only done the trial period so far, but I like it quite a lot. One issue: I, like most people, am not symmetrically perfect. That is I have strong points (legs, shoulders) and weak points (pecs, lats) and Fitbot doesn’t seem to be compensating based on how I have changed, modified, or performed during workouts. Maybe I just haven’t used it long enough, but I would think that would be important. “I’ve noticed you are skipping pull ups and picking lat pull down. Is that something you’d like to work on?” Why yes Fitbot, it is.

Love… but needs to sync!. I absolutely love this app, it gets me motivated to hit my workout streaks I love that I can pick a 15 min workout or an hour. The videos of how to do a new movement and the descriptions are awesome. I’ve recommended this to so many friends and family. I’ve had 3 different personal trainers and this is so much cheaper and it’s always in my pocket ready to go anywhere. I love that I can replace workouts, use timers, pick supersets, and customize what equipment I have as well as set up different gyms with different types of equipment available. I do wish they would add the option for a rebound/ trampoline for the equipment options. The ONLY reason I’ve rated it 4 stars is because I cannot sync all my workouts across two different devices. I need to be able to set up my workouts on one device but actually do the workout on my other device and keep up with what muscles are recovering and see my streak on any device I sign into the app on. BUT overall, 10/10 can’t go wrong with this app love love love it

Pretty good app with poor support. This app does what it says. I find the user experience to be a bit clunky at times and there isn’t a lot of transparency into recommendations or how it scales up weight levels. It recommends some truly bizarre weight increases from time to time. But overall it’s pretty good. I have subscribed for years. My one major beef with the app now is that you cannot turn off the sounds that let you know your timer is done. So every time it’s time to do another set my music fades out and I get this annoying “timer done sound” and then the music fades back in. I contacted support and they gave me a solution that didn’t work after DAYS of waiting. I contacted them again and never heard back. This is a good app but the support is lacking. I get the sense that they know they have enough people paying so they aren’t bending over backwards to help or like this is a side hustle or something. I’m sure that’s not the case but that’s what it feels like.

Weak sauce. Better than the few other training apps I used, but that ain’t saying much. The user interface is clunky, ugly, and rather annoying. It takes a long time to set up, and is not user intuitive. The example videos are annoying because they are short, and the Fitbod logo pops up every time it loops. Remove that! Who was the genius that thought of that idea? 2 free workouts for the trial? Another annoyance. It will take me more than 2 to decide if I want to give you my hard earned money. No respect. I wish I had the time and resources to develop a really intuitive and immersive work out experience for an app, but I have neither. Fitbod had both, and failed on both fronts. Now that being said, it is better than a lot of the other apps that want large amounts of $$$ up front, but the talent pool is rather shallow in that regards. Haven’t decided if I want to shell out any cash to Fitbod, but what choice do I have? Fitness+ doesn’t really have weight training regimens, and the other options seem really poor. Maybe I have t shopped around enough…

1 Year Down - Only 1 Regret. Today, my annual subscription renewed. Out of the number of subscriptions I pay for, I couldn’t be happier than I am with FitBod. My one regret? I didn’t let the app do what it was designed to do from the beginning. I missed out on a lot of time that could’ve been more productive for me. However, once I let the app do the hard work, I have been able to just enjoy a new workout every day I train. I use a Bowflex, so I simply set up my gym to include those machine exercises I can mimic on the Bowflex. I look at my next workout well ahead of time and adjust the weights accordingly (like making all the weights even, unless it’s a “per side” exercise). When it’s time to workout, I open the app on my watch and don’t even touch my phone until I’m done and it has to sync to record my work. And THAT is one of the biggest reasons I will continue to subscribe and support this app for years to come. They have worked hard to make a watch app that truly works perfect and makes life so much easier. The algorithms used are good enough to work through the entire body (although sometimes I feel there is too much emphasis put on core work in every workout day after day...) In short, there could never be a “perfect” AI workout app that is going to meet every person’s preferences. However, FitBod has come closer and done more behind the scenes trying than any other app I’ve given a chance. Great job, and I hope it just keeps getting better.

Great Overall but Annoying Freezes and Crashes. I’ve been using this app for years and it has overall been great. I’ve gained tons of muscle mass and I can’t thank this app enough for helping me and guiding me through it all. Nowadays the app is just a mess because half the time the app crashes and 90% of the time I’m using the app during a workout, the app freezes whenever you’re scrolling, typing, or even logging. The freeze that occurs can go on for as long as a minute too.. I workout 6 days a week which means I’m on this app 6 days a week, so it is very frustrating having to deal with this problem almost every day. It’s been happening every day for the past 8 months and I doubt that it is just me that this is happening to. It is very annoying and needs fixed as soon as possible because paying $50 a year for an app like this should not come with the bonus crashing and freezing. Not worth it and if it doesn’t get fixed soon then I may just discontinue. Also possible suggestion: Add a progressive overload option because the app is a little out of wack with the numbers.

Love it, needs gym profiles. I started working out with Fitbod about 4 months ago after a friend introduced me to the app. I’m a novice in the gym and found the equipment confusing and intimidating along with worries about injury. Fitbod completely changed that. I now know what to do for achieving my goal of slimming down with the right amount of reps and weight along with the videos being extremely helpful for getting a safe and correct form. I really enjoy my trips to the gym each week as I’m not confused but can instead focus on getting the workout done with enough exercise variety to not get bored. The graphs at the end of the workout are also incredibly satisfying and give a real sense of progress and represent good non-scale victories. My only criticism for the app is the desire to have multiple gym profiles. I have my main gym I go to but sometimes I’m working out at home with much more limited equipment. Additionally I travel for work and fun a fair bit and I’d love a default “garbage hotel gym” profile for when all you have is some dumbbells and a couple of cardio machines without having to dumb down my regular gym equipment settings.

I love this app and hope it adds more. This app is fantastic. I’ve always been horrible at going to the gym, so having something that builds workouts around what I have at home is awesome. I’ve been using it for 18 weeks and it’s been great! I love how I can customize everything, and that it tracks how sore I am. I love that it rotates through muscle groups so things don’t get repetitive and over used. I can also take it to the gym with me, on the rare occasions where I do go, and make a workout with the equipment they have too! It’s great! My only feedback is that I wish it had more yoga and stretching exercises. I showed this to my PT and she thought it was cool, but it would be great if I could add some of my PT exercises into my routine. I think it would help me remember to do them more. Also stretching and yoga is a really good thing to do while lifting and such, so it would be a natural addition to the app and would maybe even attract a wider audience to use it.

Used for 4 months, as a PT, can not recommend. If you’re looking for a workout app that you can blindly follow and it will give you good results, this isn’t it. It gives you incorrect training splits, incorrect exercise orders and incorrect number of reps. As someone who used to do personal training, I like to try new apps. Here is what you’re going to get. 1). Weird training splits. They might have you work legs and chest one day and triceps and biceps the next. You need to keep your large muscle groups on separate days. 2). Wrong training order. Using the op right now and it wants me to do 3 sets of biceps to START my workout before doing pullups. Wrong. You need to work your back first (the big muscle group). 3). Incorrect calculation of reps. It doesn’t give you the correct zone for your reps to fall and adjust the weight accordingly. If you blindly follow the app, you will never do the correct weight or reps. If you’re a seasoned person in the gym, you can ignore the app and adjust what you need. If you need the guidance (which is why most people choose apps) this app will NOT give you the correct training. Bottom line. Poor workouts, shows poor exercise knowledge, like a programmer made this and not an exercise professional

Suggestions. Great app! I have been using the free trial and so far I really like it. Probably going to buy it. Suggestions: - Whenever you add an exercise, the app will put it at the beginning of the workout. You have to drag it to wherever you want to place it and sometimes the dragging takes the exercises out of place and changes the order. It would be great if you could just tap wherever you want to add the exercise instead of dragging it. - Although you can edit your logged workout, and change the weight and repetitions; you CAN’T edit the type of exercise after it is logged. For example, the app make my workout including FRONT SQUAT, but I misread and did BACK SQUAT. As I was doing a back squat, I added more weight. I noticed that I was supposed to be doing the front squat after I logged the workout, but I could not edit it after it was logged. The problem is that it will calculate my next front squat exersice suggesting a weight that is not real. It would be great if you could edit the exercise after it was logged in case you made a mistake, as I did.

Great app, one suggestion.. I’ve been using Fitbod for a few months now, close to 100 workouts in the app, so I figured I could give a decent review at this point. The ease of use with the app is what keeps me coming back, I love not having to think about what exercises to do for each day, or try to remember what weights I’ve been using. It’s really easy to make adjustments to your workout whether it’s the exercise itself or anything else like suggested weight or reps. The app works too, I picked the option for strength gain and mass building, and I’ve been making solid progress. Perhaps my one suggestion would be to also record out-of-app workouts. For example if I went and played pickup basketball or soccer for 2 hours, I think that should count towards my “weekly workout goal”. It obviously wouldn’t be as in depth as the strength training aspect of the app, but just being able to have that option to say yes, while I didn’t go and lift weights, I still got a workout in.

Perhaps good for the gym, just okay for home. I had high hopes for this app. The idea of having an array of exercises suited to the equipment you have and based on your performance sold me. However, both are fairly flawed. Despite having a decent amount of home fitness equipment and having indicated this in the app, very little is utilized in the workouts. Further, a few times I was prompted for exercises for which I did not have equipment. On the learning side, this functionality is good, but not great. After five weeks I still have a mix of exceedingly easy and physically impossible exercises. The app also suffers from some design flaws, too. Trying Fitbod after using a different workout app, I was surprised and kind of annoyed by how much I had to pick up my phone to use the app. The instructional videos would rarely work in landscape, making form difficult to pin down. The lack of audio instructions make viewing the text and videos necessary. If you’re a workout pro who needs little guidance on form, and you have a whole gym at your disposal, this app is for you. For everyone else, there are probably better options.

Awesome tool; have some suggestions. I’ve found FitBod to be an excellent tool for learning my way around the gym. I used it when I started working out because it made me feel confident and educated about equipment and form, but continued using it because it introduces me through exercises and keeps my workouts interesting. With helpful video demonstrations and detailed exercise steps, you’ll become a pro at the gym in no time. I have a couple of suggestions for the developers. Users should be able to reorder the exercises in a given workout. It would be beneficial if pictures of equipment variations would be posted to descriptions because sometimes my gym’s equipment doesn’t match what’s show in those shown in the descriptions and I can’t identify what I’m supposed to be using. A submission option for equipment that isn’t on FitBod would be nice. Overall, I have enjoyed using FitBod and see myself using it well into the future, and a few changes would further improve the user experience.

Great app, adjustments needed for body weight exercises. Love this app and have been using it for several months now. It helps keep variety in my workout and with quarantine I was able to make a second gym profile for my home workout equipment. I have a couple notes of improvement for the developers, however. The algorithm seems to think body weight only exercises are significantly easier than they are for those of us not starting out in peak condition. If it knows I’m 190 lbs and thinks I can only pull down 30 lbs on lats, why does it think I can do three sets of 7 pull-ups? I can’t do one. Similarly, if I do 10 pound dumbbell flies, why does it think it can do 30 decline pushups? These are not equivalent. To compound the issue, the app does not allow you to give feedback on all of the body weight only exercises as to how hard they were. An adjustment there would be great. Thanks for making my favorite workout app!

Bug made app unuseable. Update: I was contacted about this issue but I have decided to cancel my account. My bigger issue with the app was the lack of freedom to design and customize upcoming workouts. As I have gotten better at weight lifting and more familiar with the equipment I wanted an app that was not so heavily structured. Thanks for getting back in touch with me though. It’s a good app if you have never used weights before; not as good if you have more experience and want to look ahead at your future plans. I enjoyed this app for a time because it had a good mix of free weights, machine and bodyweight exercises for gym goers and it was easy to log reps and sets. But I was away for 3 weeks and when I tried to log in again to start my next workout, it froze on the workout, making me delete the app and re-download it, then it lost all my data and froze itself on the free trial mode. I contacted support by email but I never heard back and I decided it wasn’t worth paying 8 dollars a month to track my workouts if I ran into this software glitch again. I usually don’t write reviews but this made me cranky enough to write one.

More variety. I recommend this app to everyone! This app def changed how I workout. I learned new workouts that I’ve never thought of doing or ever felt comfortable doing bc I didn’t know how. The video demonstrations are so so so helpful instead of having to Google stuff. It takes the hassle of tracking and creating workouts out of my already super busy schedule. I love the app but sometimes I find myself doing the same workout just labeled with a different name. I would like to see more variety of workouts. They do include stretching now which is great but def need more variety. Also, I wish it selected different workouts in general. I often have to change the exercise to include something I’ve never done or don’t do regularly since it repeats certain workouts over and over. For example, it gives me Russian twists EVERYDAY. Lastly, I wish we could select more targeted abs. Abs in general is not enough I wish I could select obliques or lower abs instead of having to search through all abs to find those specific movements.

Easy to use.. I’ve waited to give this app a review, until I was consistent enough to see any sort of result. The app is really like a personal trainer in a way. It gives you an option to rate each workout when your done, to help with your next time you do the same or similar workout along with showing you how to do each workout. At first, it seemed like the weight and muscle groups were the same, and nothing was increasing, but it definitely starts to increase right around week 3. And I think that’s to do with settling in, and getting familiar with everything. I do enjoy that you can increase your time on the app, to help create a longer gym session. Along with all of that, it changes your workouts each week, with different movements and different workouts, that help increase muscle growth, and using that certain muscle group differently. Overall, the app is cheaper than most “Instagram trainers” that have “miracle growths” and it’s really helped me break up the pattern up in the gym, and keeps me motivated to continue to go.

Major data input issues. This app has some nice options for workouts, however the data input on it is abysmal. Need to change weight, reps, sets or some other option during your workout? The app will now no longer let you log exercises properly. Not only is this frustrating, it’s even more frustrating when you’re in the middle of a sweaty workout and you have to keep fiddling with the app to be able to log your sets because you tried to adjust something like the weight in an exercise. After doing so it will now show every exercise as completed, even though you haven’t done the rest of your sets. You’ll need to keep manually going through everything to log it. This is basic data entry that’s causing the issue. If this was a free app I wouldn’t complain, but at $60 a year, this type of basic coding problem can’t exist in an app. There are simply too many other options available on the market for such a problematic bug. And for the record, everyone I know who has used this app has experienced this same problem. It’s out number one complaint and the reason some of them have moved to other apps. Please fix this issue or expect to lose more users.

Great polished app with annoying bugs.. Been using fitbod for 1 year now. Love it most of the time but there are bugs. Apple Watch sync can fail and then best case you kill the app on your watch and iPhone and restart and hope it syncs back up. Worst case your watch restarts your workout from nil then overwrites your 2 hour iPhone workout you just did. I’ve resorted to using Apple Watch Strength Training workout to track time and calories and disable fitbod to Apple Health sync. In other words don’t allow fitbod to write tonApple Health and use Apples workout app to track time/calories. Do that and you should have no issues since you’ve taken fitbod out of the Apple Health equation. Annoying though that they can’t get the Watch sync working perfectly. Also recommended weights and reps can sometimes get really wacky (just peruse the Facebook fitbod group’s comments). I’ve recently felt like fitbod’s AI has changed as well and just not feeling confident about the recommendations it’s giving for workouts. Having said all of that, this app is definitely worth the $5 per month no question. Hoping fitbod spends more time on getting the bugs worked out once and for all.

I wish I didn’t subscribe this app. I used this app for about four months after subscribing to it. It costs $60 per year but it’s completely not worth it. I would say $20 should be it’s fair price. I really regretted purchasing it for a number of reasons: 1. It is battery killer. I usually used it for an hour and it killed more than 50% of the battery every single time. For the information, I keep all of my apps and iOS up to date. After the frustration on its battery draining super power, I switched to other three work out apps and none of them used more than 15% of my battery; 2. It’s not user friendly and lacks the most basic function for people who would like to create and stick with their own workout routine. You have to navigate multiple places to get to where you need; 3. The auto generated workouts were just random put together exercises. All it does is switching out different exercises for you. As for benefit? None. Any other it’s competitors does the same job but Fitbod costs three times more; 4. It’s much more expensive than any other competition. Fitbod’s price is twice or three times of almost all of the alternatives on the market. I was four months in and lost too much battery juice and got frustrated for too long. I wish I didn’t subscribe it at the first place.

Decent. Issues go unfixed.. I've been using Fitbod for about 10 months now. The app is good for helping you get a workout in and helping you pick what to do next. I'm happy with that aspect. Where it lacks is in the software development aspect. There are numerous bugs that just aren't getting fixed. My records (repetition, volume, etc.) quit being recorded about 2-3 months ago and despite reaching out to Fitbod for assistance, they haven't provided a working solution. There has been an ongoing issue where the workout duration is wrong because they're likely grabbing the wrong time, which results in your workout duration being equal to the time you ended the workout until the time Apple Watch synced Fitbod to your phone after the workout. I'm currently looking around for a new fitness App since my subscription ends in a few months and they haven't resolved any of the issues I've brought to their attention. I think they're more focused on marketing than getting their product free of obvious bugs.

Great app on iPhone, not Apple Watch. Using Fitbod on your Apple Watch is absolutely the way to go. It reduces the amount of time you need to spend fiddling with your phone and it overall makes the process of tracking your workouts frictionless. The big issue I’ve encountered, however, is that syncing both a completed workout and one that’s in progress can have varied results. If I’m lucky, the app works as intended and saves my workout to the phone accurately. But oftentimes what ends up happening is that when I go to open the iPhone Fitbod app, it resets my entire workout and decides to sync my watch with what’s on my phone, which is a brand new workout. I lose all the heart rate data and if I deviated my reps or weight from the original workout, that’s all lost as well and I need to remember what I did for each exercise. The other fitness app I use is Strava, and it’ll just automatically upload my workouts from my watch to my account. If it doesn’t have access to a network, it saves my workouts on the watch until it’s able to save them. All in all, Fitbod is fantastic, but the issues with the Apple Watch are frustrating.

BEST. APP. EVER. Great for pandemic weight loss!. I have downloaded every fitness app out there. This app is great because it lets you put in what equipment you have, makes a workout for you, calibrates the workout for you based on what difficulty rating you put in for the workout. It also lets you easily add on to workouts or replace if a workout is too hard. I have been looking for an app like this, I wish I had known about this app earlier before COVID. Gyms would’ve been so much easier to navigate! The recovery section of the app shows you which muscles you worked on the day before. The app also shows you which muscles you’re targeting for the day! Don’t like it? Change what you want to target and it’ll change the workout for you in 2 seconds! Amazing!!!! The tutorials are 5/5, EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS APP is perfect. I wish I could thank the makers in person, you’ve given a highly anxious person peace when it’s time to go back to the gym. Developers, can you also possibly work on adding a punching bag to the list of equipment and have workouts tailored for those as well? Thank you!!! 5/5!!!!!

Excellent but buggy. This is an excellent fitness app; I use it at least 4 times a week and have recommended it to friend. However, it’s brought down by numerous small bugs. For example: it randomly switches gym profiles, sometimes randomly looses the gym profile information, particularly the cardio preferences, doesn’t accurately record steaks (it lost my 5 week streak this week despite logging 4 workouts) and the weekly email summary is rarely accurate. I would strongly suggest the team stop adding more features and focus on an update that resolves all these apps. Other than these annoying bugs, I really like this app. Update on Nov 9. A new app update, a new set of bugs. The bugs in this app continue to frustrate me so I’m now downgrading my rating to 3 stars. The latest is the “handle band exercises” - I don’t have a handle band nor do have “exercise band” ticked in my gym profile yet my latest workout has 4 exercises that require a handle band. Some other bugs are still unresolved, particularly the bugs associated with gym profiles. I subscribe and will continue to use but not increasing my rating until bugs resolved.

Next update?. Been using the app for two years consistently love it, but……when are new styles of training going to be implemented including-drop sets-hypertrophic workouts-rest pause sets-negatives. I know this is available in super sets but looking for more versatility in tracking my training. For a general use of organization pretty good! However there are a lot of exercises missing from cross utilization example dumbbell pullover is both chest and back and shoulder be able to identify use for both including pullover machines, and other new equipment. I think an interesting update would be able to create a database of gyms and equipment for tracking as every gym is different which means most equipment is different. So when logging training and u use a chain squat u can create the exercise and log it, thus also allows u to update ur data base and add new equipment for videos and training. Have users submit videos! So for now I’ll give u guys 4⭐️ hope to hear of the reason to add the extra.

Awesome app, but I’d like to see some features added.. I love this app, and I think it’s great for people who don’t have a clue on how to put together a workout. With a little bit of tweaking, the workouts are great! That being said, there are a few things that I’d like to see added. First, I’d like to be able to have a variety of cardio for each workout. For example, instead of giving me 18 minutes of running on a treadmill, I’d like to see something like 10 minutes of running and 8 minutes of battle ropes. I believe that this would keep people from burning out faster. Second, my biggest pet peeve of this app, is that I can not set types stretches to be in warm up AND a cool down. I can set them to be in one or the other. Like I previously mentioned, I like to have a variety in my workouts, so I think that this feature would help with that as well. Personally, I like to have both dynamic and static stretches in both my warm ups and cool downs. Overall I do think this is an amazing app and has really helped me stay committed to working out.

Hands down best bodybuilding app available. I’ve been lifting for a long time. Realized I recently hit a plateau after same/similar routines for last 2 years. I decided I wanted to create a new routine and luckily found this. Plugged in all my data and equipment I have in my home gym and this app has done the rest. It tracks your progress and suggest different muscles and routines according to fatigue and strength. Provides timed rests, calculates estimated calories burned and total volume weight lifted per session. I love not knowing what muscles I’m going to workout and what routines I am going to perform until it’s time to lift. Makes it more fun and not going into a workout dreading legs. It’s really like having your own personal trainer. This last month I’ve been more sore and seen better results than I can recently remember. Worth every penny. I have been suggesting this app to all my family and friends that workout. Great job to the developers, keep up the good work. PS this is my first review ever, had to leave one just because how much I enjoy this app.

Great App for Tracking and Accountability. Good day! First off, I'm not just saying this to say it, but I've never been a fan of reviews, so here we are. This app has significantly improved my overall progress and workout monitoring! I appreciate having a variety of options for choosing muscle splits and for displaying which muscles have recovered to what percentage. This feature is really great. Since I started using this app, I have been working out five days a week and have a better schedule for each day (2 months in). Now, let's move on to the areas that I want improvement. There is currently no way to review your workouts from the previous month, which is something I truly wish you could do. You can no longer assess the previous month after it has passed. Also I would like the ability to add or suggest workouts to be added to the app, I would also like the opportunity to add remarks to any of your sessions. Overall, the app and execution are solid, but some changes or additions are needed.

Was great, but confused by recent updates.. I’ve been a big fan of the Fitbod app and the use of ai to enhance customized programming. Lately though, the UX changes have been bothering me. The placement of the start stop workout button seems unnecessarily emphasized as a floating action. I don’t need this button until I finish my workout so why is it covering my workout routine? The rest timer overlay now seems too tall, it’s layout creates some odd white space and it’s overlaying a third of the screen. The timer is listed right above with the set list so this extra big version seems redundant. The change that’s bothered me the most is the introduction of ad space at the top of my workout review. As a paying subscriber it’s disappointing to see this kind of disruption in my user flow. Just finishing a workout I want to see how I did not be hit with a promo. I think this kind of thing for paid users of this app is better suited as an email notification. Just some honest feedback. As I said, I enjoy the app very much, but I’m concerned with the recent UX decisions and the implications it has for the future of the fitbod app.

Great app. Developers please I’m begging you.. I’d really love to have a feature when I’m building workouts to have a drop down menu or toggle for “low weight/high rep” days, “medium weight/medium rep” days, or “high weight/low rep days” so that when you choose an option, it populates your sets and weight accordingly. Maybe the weights could even be calculated off of your record weight or projected 1 rep max for a movement. This added feature would be a great boon for those serious about tuning what kind of day we are looking for in the gym. An alternative to this feature could also be a function that allows us to pick a percentage of 1 rep max (85% for example) that will automatically calculate the desired weight and input it for you while you build the workout rather than scrolling to find my previous record or 1 rep max, then exiting to a calculator, then coming back to put my calculations in. Thank you in advance for any developer who reads this. Love you guys.

Fitbod keeps things fresh.. When working out it’s very easy to get tunnel vision and repeat exercises. With Fitbod there is no need to worry about getting into a funk and becoming uninterested with working out. Fitbod generates fresh movements to help the user stay engaged while working muscle groups evenly, thereby increasing the speed of results. Users can’t wait to see what’s going to be on the next workout plan and because of that the app works to keep the fitness fire burning strong. Don’t like a workout suggestion? With plenty to choose from, just opt to replace rather than skip the reps entirely! Want high intensity? Remove rest periods! Have a specific goal? It’s as simple as selecting your fitness needs! Perhaps the most exciting feature after using it for some time is the workout log. You can see all the data for your workout and from there judge your progress to further assess your needs as an athlete. The best part is that you can get many of these benefits without paying. However, when you do because you like the experience so much you can get even more out of it. Fitbod is great.

Almost Perfect. I felt as though my progress would hit a plateau after a certain point because I wasn’t achieving enough variety in the exercises I did, their order, and the number of sets/repetitions I chose. An app like this appeared to be a perfect solution and while it’s been very good, I don’t think it’s been perfect. There’s a lot to love here but for purposes of the review, I’ll skip right to my two gripes. One, I don’t feel confident putting my full faith in their algorithm. Like others have said here, exercises are sometimes ordered in a way that makes me scratch my head. Why would I be tasked to do bicep curls (isolated muscle group) right before shotgun rows (compound exercise)? Part of the convenience is being able to let the app take the wheel but I’m not sure I can trust it to do that. Number two, which is a no brainer, is that users should be able to add their own workouts with custom descriptions, pictures, and all. Fitbod’s exercise list is impressively exhaustive compared to other apps but it doesn’t have everything. Allowing us to fill in the blanks shouldn’t be a difficult feat technologically- other apps offer it.

So excited then so disappointed. *Update: After receiving a discounted rate i am very excited to be using this app for the next year* When I first heard about this app I thought this was too good to be true. As someone who has been working out for a long time but because of work and life etc I begin to lose creativity in changing up/ adding to my workouts. I thought this app was going to be the answer to my problems. It lets me put in my fitness goals and my schedule and allows me to customize my routine to my liking. I love that it gives simple tutorials for any movements that I haven’t used before along with the suggested reps/sets. Added bonus it tracks the weights I used for me where I no longer have to record myself. After my first workout (which was great btw) I realize that by the end of the week the app will be useless unless I pay a yearly subscription. Wish $50 a year wasn’t a big deal for me but it is. Guess it’s back to figuring it out on my own.

EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WANTED. I have never written a review for an app but I just feel very strongly after paying for fitness program after program and online coach after coach, this is just so much better. It has EVERYTHING I have been looking for. Being able to customize based on the equipment I have at home is AMAZING. We have a home gym that is sort of more than what a lot of people would usually have but certainly not what you’d find in an average gym, so getting a program designed to fit this has been so extraordinarily helpful. Most programs have been either or, and at home programs assume you have dumbbells and bands and that’s it. Never would get to use the squat racks or weight bench. There are SO many great features! In app tracking, suggested weight and reps for body type and experience level, swapping an exercise without having to send an email, the rest countdowns I could go on and on I just love this app so much. Thank you for creating.

The only App That I would give a review on. Like a proud parent, I’ve watched Fitbod grow and develop from the early stages where the app would crash, videos were pixelated, and it looked like things would not end up well for the people of Fitbod. I sent them a message when I noticed their instruction videos that used to have audio attached were removed. With great customer service, they explained that they were planning on re-recording all the instructional videos that were once borrowed from another company. After about a year, I noticed improvements in the types of exercises you could choose from, the gym equipment you had access to, and (my favorite) the option to choose your body type that you would like to pursue. This app keeps me motivated to hit the gym every day at 11:30 at night after a long day. I get my notification, and can see the workout that’s ahead of me.... I absolutely love it. For all those type A planners out there like me, get this app. You’d spend money on anything else of value, this app is WORTH IT. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go hit the gym!

amazing app//with a turn off. The first time I ever used this app I was honestly so confused on what to do. I wish there was some kind of tutorial that showed the main aspects of the apps features. I decided to open up the app and see what it’s about now that I want to start working out toning my muscles. I learned the aspects and now I see how good of an app this really is, I set up my work outs and all. I’m literally in love with this app now and ready to train. Then I see that I only have a 2 day trial and I’m like sure, they need to make some money to keep improving the app for us. But then it was $9.99 per month which is a little too pricey. It was a complete turn off for me I’d expect $5.99 that would be much more reasonable. But I do understand why it’s $9.99. Highly disappointed but I think I’ll just have to pay the full price of 10 bucks now. Really think they should lower the price because I’m sure with a lower price this would be a hit app. Incredible application if you want to tone muscles etc and I highly recommend it! Just need to fix the pricing maybe..

Easy to use and challenging. I love this app! It has a new routine for each morning. It tells me exactly what muscle groups I’m working out. It lets me customize all of it. How many reps, how many set, with or without weights. I can replace workouts with other similar ones if I feel I can’t do a certain type or I’m just not feeling it. You can add rest times. In between sets. The full body workout with no weights is set up in 2 or 3 super sets and then 2 sets that both get your heart beat pumping and muscles working. I feel sore the next day but never too badly where I feel I can’t move. I actually look forward to using this app every day. Oh and I love how it syncs to my Apple Watch so I can mark each set as done and move to the next one with out having to unlock my phone every time. It’s just an awesome app all around! I tried it for two weeks. I tried two other similar apps but they didn’t even come close. So I can back and purchased a subscription to this one. 10/10 recommend!

Keeps me motivated and engaged.. EDIT: I see what you did with the “give a friend 3 free workouts, new users only.” Everyone gets 3 free workouts anyway. Just ask me to share the app and I will. 😒 I was once a personal trainer and I also competed in fitness and figure for fun. Over the years, I switched industry and eventually found myself in a desk job as an accountant. There are days I would spend 12-15 hours at my desk. Needless to say, I’ve gained weight and I find myself wanting to get back to a healthier lifestyle. I have all the tools, knowledge and access to equipment. For me, the issue was prioritizing time and staying motivated. This app really helped me to do just that. Whether working out before or after my long day, the last thing I want to do is think about structuring a fitness program, let alone a single workout, and this app provides a simple solution: A starting point. Yes, as a formal fitness professional, there are some things I’ve modified or changed in my workouts, but would expect that given the cost and it works well as a starting point. This of course is based on my personal observations on where I am physically, and I understand an app can’t possibly be a “one size fits all.” For this reason, I give this app 5 stars, and I highly recommend it if you need a cost effective way to keep track of what you’re doing and to stay motivated and engaged. Thank you!

LOVE IT!. I never write reviews on apps, but I couldn’t resist with this one. I’ve downloaded and tried so many different weight training apps before I found this one. Let me tell you, I am IN LOVE With this app. I weight lifted 2x/day in high school as a year round athlete (2009 graduate here) and after 11 years that included 2 kids, a marriage/divorce, fast food, alcohol, the works; I gained 150+ pounds! I NEEDED something that will help me. I love that this app SHOWS you what to do AND with written instruction. I love the preset weight amounts, but I also love that you can adjust the weight in the app and add sets. If you don’t feel comfortable doing a certain exercise, the app has an option to substitute to a different exercise that will target the same group of muscles. I also enjoy that you tell the app what machines you have available and it will give you exercise for only those machines! 5 stars for sure! With this app, I don’t feel dumb for walking in or around buff people at the gym. I feel and look confident ❤️

Customer Service is Trash. There are plenty of things wrong with this app—including not adjusting number of sets or reps as you increase in ability to fit into the time you have set ( for example there’s no way it makes sense that 8 reps of lunges and 26 reps of lunges are treated like they take the exact same amount of time) and not remember your reps/weights when it’s not a max effort day on that particular exercise so you then have to go in and manually change it every time the exercise comes up (again if I change it from 8 reps to 15 reps and marked that as no effort, there’s no reason it should back track to 8)—but I think the thing that bothers me the most is that customer service is an absolute joke. They will insist the app is fine when you point problems out. Insist. Which is rude and you clearly have never exercised a day in your life. BUT that’s assuming they even respond to you. Because the response is sometimes well over a week (I’m still waiting on an answer from a problem from a week ago). I pay for this app. You need to get your customer service together. If I’m going to waste my money on an app, of which I do not have a lot, I expect more from your customer service. And this isn’t a cheap subscription.

Just do it!!. I got this App last year and started with the trial then by paying the monthly subscription, and eventually payed for the yearly.. which is a million times worth it for me. I am an athlete and military medic, but keep a pretty busy life so this has made my workouts so convenient. With consistency I see incredible results using the app. I have seen these kind of results with any other fitness routine I’ve used without change in diet or just killing myself at the gym. I love that you can switch out exercises and customize your workouts towards your specific goals. It also shows you what muscle groups are fatigued and it has always been correct for me! This is by far the best App purchase I have ever made. I was worried knowing that previous Apps or fitness programs I’ve tried I didn’t like or couldn’t stick to for long periods of times. I can confidently say after a year I still use it regularly and will continue to use it.

Wish I had more than 5 stars to give..... I’ve been using this app for about 3 months now. I’ve logged about 50 workouts so far, so I feel comfortable maneuvering through the app and its settings. From the start the app has been very intuitive and easy to use, and I enjoy using it more and more each time I’m at the gym. I love being able to set up and save my own gym with lots of different equipment types- so that the generated workouts are really tuned into what I need. Being able to replace individual exercises makes a workout more comfortable so that I can build knowledge of new exercises at my own pace. Now for the results... My wife, family members, co-workers, and friends have all noticed a real change in my physique. I have been working out for the last year on and off, but this app makes it much easier to be consistent and keep up with my personal goals. I enjoy the gym more, I enjoy how I feel, and I have already convinced 4 people to buy a membership since I started. This app is awesome.

Saving Workouts Discouraged. You can’t update workouts without loading it and saving it. Sounds normal, right? Nah. Create a workout, save it. Start workout. No more saving if you update during it. You will have to complete the entire workout (or manually unset all reps), it will load a new generated workout, you’ll have to reload the old workout, update, save, start again. Completed a workout and want to reload it from the log? You have to save it and load it manually. You’re not slick, you can’t just type in a name being used to update that saved workout. Oh there’s totally the ability to load the workout, you can share a link to a friend and click it which will load said workout. Nope, you can’t load it directly in the app. Nope, you can’t paste that link in the app to load. Market for us, make sure to tell your friends! The only positive is the instructions are pretty accurate about what muscles you’ll be hitting and show how to perform them in good form. Which is useful for abbot your first month or so. I rate planet fitness of workout apps/10. Sure the tools are there, but I’m not so sure they actually want you using them.

One of the Greatest Fitness Apps. Just One Suggestion. This app is great for people into fitness. If you like to personalize your workouts then this is for you, I love how you can exclude equipment you don’t have access too, it’s perfect! If you’re tracking progress this app is also great for you, the way it links with the Health app and even creates graphs for you to see how far you’ve come is beyond helpful. 9/10 would recommend to anyone getting into fitness and working out. But there’s one thing missing! If there was a feature you could use to track injuries then this would be 5/5 stars. If you could select where you’re injured and have the app auto fix your workout to avoid working the muscle area it would be great. You can sort of do this manually now, but to have workouts optimized around this would be great! Also, I’ve encountered a bug where the amount of reps I can enter for a max effort set caps off at 29. I can go to 30+ but it will not let me enter it.
