Wasn’t Broken, New Update Broke Everything. Longtime user since the very first days of the app. Loved it previously, faithfully updated data and tracking, but now this new update is HORRENDOUS. First, you warned us late last year about the impending update—and then don’t update until three months later? Why? And now I can’t customize anything. I can’t edit anything. I can’t correct the date of my birth control method (why would it ask me and not allow me to select the date? It used to do this!), so now it’s off. I can’t customize the displays on my calendar, so all I see are emojis with no legend whatsoever (what do they mean??). There’s a list of changes but no tutorial, and it’s not very helpful. If I try to edit birth control and period info in Settings it gives me a very dramatic “once you do this you cannot I do, are you sure?” message, so I’m afraid to click yes and of making things worse. So, so, very frustrated with this right now. It makes me want to delete it and forgo using it completely. Planned Parenthood, I love you, but you completely ruined an app that wasn’t in need of changes. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. You’ve broken your app and it’s incredibly frustrating to try and use now. Please go back to the way it was. Please give us customizable displays and landing pages. Please let us edit data entries. Please don’t make this overly complicated. I don’t need videos or a chat feature. It’s a period tracker, not social media. Please fix this.

I don’t like the new design. I am using the app for about a year, not sure exactly. And I liked an easy way of logging, and the UI in general was good enough. Now it’s a bit unfriendly. First, I don’t like that the main part of my screen is taken by text (“Fertility could be in the air”, in my case) and empty space (!!!). It takes 4/5 of my screen, at the bottom is Quick Log — text. And I have to scroll for logging. Also you can’t see right away on your first screen what you logged today already. You have to either go to calendar or scroll the Quick Log (I found out about it accidentally). Second, the Quick Log consists of RANDOM icons. Not the ones I use often, but absolutely random. And for me — those I never used, at all (e.g.Acne, Bloated). It would be great, if I can either set up the quick log (to make it quick!) myself, or the algorithm would put those I use more first in line. Third, yeah, the log is now separated in more categories, because My Emoji is a new one. But why? My emojis were in different categories (Activity, Mood...), and now they are not where I am used to see them. So, if I log my sex activity, for example, I have to log “protected sex” in Activity, then go to My Emojis to log the rest (e.g.orgazm and quality of a sex act, yeah, I do that). So, it’s a bit frustrating now and not really user friendly, so using the app is not as relaxing as it was. But thanks for Masturbated emoji! 3 stars for that, instead of 2.

Used to love it.... Previously I would have given this app 5 stars, but I really hate the new update. I loved the look before - how you track symptoms in the bubbles, the monthly calendar look and the days at the top when you’re putting in daily symptoms. When the update first came out I couldn’t log into my account on the app. Then one day I opened it and I was miraculously logged back in and my few years of progress were there. But I hated the new look of the update, I found it very confusing to use, not user friendly, I wasn’t sure if the symptoms I was putting in were getting tracked and it took me a really long time to figure out how to see a monthly view. The only thing I did like about the update was that you could edit and put in your own symptoms and put them into categories which I don’t think you could do before. I stopped using it for about a month because I really just didn’t like it. Now I wanted to give it a second try and when I open the app I’m no longer logged in, nor can I log in. I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading the app, creating a new account, but I just keep getting the logo loading screen. I would be sooo very happy if the app just reverted back to the old version because I would LOVE to keep supporting PP and using this app, but I can’t use it in its current state.

More features needed. This app is a generally fine period tracker in that I can examine the personal information on the calendar and see trends. However, I’d like to echo the other commenters who note the necessity for a comment section so this information and its causes can be more accurately assessed. Unfortunately, I have two other problems as well. Firstly, I have a problem with my not taking birth control being equated with me taking “unknown” birth control. I cringe whenever I see that in my statistics and profile because “unknown” does not represent me. Second, the app does little to account for women of different ages and with medical conditions. Information about ovulation and exact periods is unlikely to be of use for an older woman going through perimenopause or an adolescent whose cycle is not yet regular and who may be experiencing more emotional highs and lows around the time they menstruate. Clearly the app cannot give everyone feedback on their personal menstrual health, but I would feel more comfortable being able to input my health concerns (I lost an ovary a couple years ago and have struggled with mood swings and hot flashes uncharacteristic of my age) and having more resources to browse in the resources tab concerning such topics.

It’s amazingly useful. It has settings where you can get reminders on when you’re supposed to get your period, when to take your birth control, when you’re next appointment is, and when certain symptoms should happen. Plus if you have any questions over your method of birth control, there is an FAQ, which is very helpful. Another plus is that you can track your mood, body feelings, actions, and your period. You can ever pick the emojis for each symptom, action, or mood. This app is very helpful with keeping up with both control, tracking your period and period symptoms, remembering your appointment dates, and can easily help birth control beginners get into the habit of taking it. You can even insert when you’re sexually active and it can tell you when you’re fertile and if you need to use a backup protection and why you should(such as a condom). It is a very well thought out and modern app that is very very useful and is even free?! Definitely recommend to download.

Frustrating Changes. I’ve had this app for well over a year now after struggling to find an app that I liked. After the update changed some important aspects, I’m struggling to find reason to continue using it. The good things: using emojis makes finding what happening through my cycle easier to find, various categories helps me track what’s important to me and gives me more idea of what to pay attention to, and fertility tracking makes me confident in my private life. The bad: it’s impossible to track anything beyond my period if it happened more than a day ago because of the way the calendar updated, and that was something that mattered a lot to me for figuring out how my behavior and feeling would flux throughout my cycle. Either I’m an idiot who can’t figure out the app or I can’t alter what my quick log responses are, but I’ve been filling it out far less frequently because of the added search time and frustration that I’m facing daily from it. The app no longer feels personalized and comfortable to use, and frankly it feels like I’m isolated in my daily updates because I rarely experience acne, cramping, or bloating but those are 75% of what they are. This is far too long winded already, but the short of it is that the update has made the app harder and less comfortable to use. This app is definitely worth a try, but for users who experienced the golden days before the overhaul it may be time to move on.

Love using this app! But slight improvements can make it better!. I began to use this app on the day I visited Planned Parenthood to start my first birth control method (pills). This app literally keeps me on track by reminding me to take my pill everyday, the same time, and it keeps record of all the days you pressed “yes” if you took the pill for the day so that if you feel unsure, forgot, or must take two pills if you missed, you can check and proceed to take action to get back on track. They also have a feature where you can add any symptoms, feelings, or when you stated your period as of well as the flow to look back on to see any changes or differences. I gave this app four stars because as a suggestion, this app can improve if it can have an option where people can make an account or not. My phone suddenly stopped working and the four month progress I had put time to keep track of my moods, my side effects, and my period is now gone. I can’t look back on those four months to compare it to a new pill I was switched to. I would really hate to lose all of the progress I have made in the app to keep track of everything again. Thank you!

Near Perfect!. This app is all around pretty amazing. The in-app integration of being able to talk to a health care educator is so convenient. I love absolutely everything about this app except for the fact that there’s no option to put you accidentally doubled up on your pill one day. Normally if you forget to take a pill, you put it into the app, and they tell you what to do, but if you accidentally double up, the app can’t help you, and you can’t log it, so you must reach out to one of their educators. If the app was to include this feature, I’d give it a 5 stars. Now that we’ve got the negatives out of the way, let’s go over what’s great about this app. 1) The app allows you to require FaceID to open it, so someone being nosy can’t open your app with sensitive information. 2) They allow you to insert your individual birth control method, so the app is tailor fit to you. ( I’d suggest adding the option to add multiple methods being used at once, but the app still works great without it. ) 3) If you chose to use more than one app to track your periods and birth control, you can export the data out of the app easily. 4) They have a very compact and helpful FAQ integrated into the app. 5) The app is FREE, and there’s no free trial / pay to use features.

Used to love it. Tbh this was the first app I ever downloaded to track my period and I loved it. It was easy to use and it looked nice and the reminders are nice since I’m pretty forgetful but the update totally ruined it. When it first updated it completely logged me out and it wouldn’t let me back in and then when randomly let me back after while so I thought it was that minor issue. But now it takes soooo long to load that most of the time I didn’t even bother waiting or opening it. Because of that I stopped using it for a couple months and also partly because it straight up stopped giving me reminders. I just got a new phone and redownloaded it to see if it was finally fixed and it actually told me that it’s gonna get my data from my old phone so I had hope that it was but then it still took forever to load into the app. When it did finally load it didn’t even log into my account and it’s still not letting me. The only options it gives is “create an account” or “continue without account”. I’m probably just gonna delete it which is a shame because i really loved this app.

Updating my review...disappointed..... I've been trying to find a good period tracker for ages...I used Glow for a bit but I hated the strictly heteronormative community that it continuously tried to force me into. Aesthetically I didn't mind it but the dinosaurs on Spot On totally won me over. (Edit February 5th, 2020) I’ve been using this app for several years and never had any problems with it. However with the newest redesign I’m unable to remove the “fertile days” from my calendar, which makes me extremely uncomfortable. I’m not sexually active and even when I am, I’m not looking to get pregnant. Having to see these fertile day reminders without having the choice to remove them is highly disappointing. I can see why some people find it useful to know but for me, it’s dysphoric and keeps me from logging into the app. I may have to find a new tracker if this feature isn’t made optional. (May 26th) Haven’t been able to open the app since Feb 5th, though if it’s possible to open then perhaps I’m simply not patient enough to repeatedly try to keep my phone from going back to sleep before I can log in. I’m sad to see Spot On leave my routine.

Trash. Final update: Thanks for literally wiping all my past information even though it was backed up! Super helpful!! I’m glad I have zero access to the past two years of cycle/issues data. You seriously had the best thing in the App Store and you ruined it all and a lot of peoples’ information. Hope you’re happy with yourselves. Update: Apparently they’re no longer going to ever fix this app to even load. It won’t open, but continuously sends me notifications several times a day. It’s absolutely trash now. The complete overhaul made it extremely UN-user-friendly. I couldn’t figure out how to do anything. After the overhaul, the amount of mistakes it had was unbelievable. It acted like I’d never marked anything about my pill for three months. It kept saying I needed to be careful and asking if I’d started a new pack. However, if you’d go into the day, it showed that I had taken the pill. Then after the secondary update, it won’t even open. I haven’t been able to attempt to track anything since Friday/Saturday. If you have the option, I would rollback to the previous version, for all of our sakes.

Unable to sign into account.. This used to be my daily use app for tracking. I have PCOS so I needed something that’ll help me with reminders and documenting how I have been feeling especially when I needed that info for doctor appointments. After the update it was very difficult for me to figure out how to use, once I thought I got the hang out it I came to realize I wasn’t signed into the account I had been signed in to for years. I had to make a whole new account which resulted in me losing all my last information. Now with my new account it asks me everyday if I started a new pack then on my profile page it says I’m on week 172 day 4. I thought I’d be able to sign into my previous account so I signed out of the new one and now I don’t have an option to sign in only to sign up. This is very confusing and frustrating as i depended on this app. Hopefully I can figure this out because I honestly enjoy this app a lot more then others I came across.

Data came back after update. UPDATE: I’m so happy my data came back! I was also able to successfully make an account. I definitely still favor the old layout more but the most important things are fixed. I find this app incredibly useful when it’s working properly so I’m happy I can continue using it. They also responded to my emails and showed great customer service. I’d used this app for probably the past 2-3 years or so almost daily until the update earlier this month where it deleted all of my saved data. I can’t remember when I got my IUD anymore and years of information I tracked is gone. I’ve sent two emails requesting help with no response back. I liked the old layouts simplicity and ease of it and the cute messages/facts it would show after you submitted daily. It was aesthetically pleasing and easy to use and this new one is the opposite. I tried to give this new update a shot and start from scratch, and it wouldn’t let me make an account/kept giving me error messages. So I’ve tried to ‘continue without account’ and there’s no way to actually input the information. It’s just odd, completely ruined a great app. Such a shame, I hope they fix it soon or better yet just restore it to the old one

keeps trying to get me to start a new pill pack on placebo week. I’ve been using this app since 2016, before I even started birth control simply to track my period. Once I started birth control I’ve been using it to track my cycle and not so much keep me on top of taking my pill, but just to actually hold me accountable with my pill. It’s been great and I loved this app, up until recently. I had the previous problem of not being able to sign into the app last year after an update and then now, even with having my pill info inputted and it clearly stating it’s a 28 day pill cycle with 21 active pills and 7 placebos, every month without fail it tries to get me to start my next pill pack the day I’m supposed to start taking placebos. I now use the app to log my period and when I start my next pill pack, so while I’m taking my placebos and on my period, I log my period but every single time I open the app to log my period it tells me I’m unprotected and need to start my new pill pack ASAP. It’s a problem I’ve been having for a few months now and it’s driving me nuts.

Amazing. I use this app to track my period. After an unexpected visit from Aunt Flo at a parent teacher conference (I am a student of middle school), due to forgetting to mark the calendar, I decided I need to find an easier way to keep track. I looked through many other apps, and this one I found the best for me. This is a very minimalist-ish design, keeping it simple and easy to understand. This app has the resources and some research pages for you to learn more about what you are going through, and daily reviews about how heavy your flow was, what your moods were, and even more. I find that this does not ask for any unnecessary information that alarms me, and it goes forward to track your next period estimation instead of you having to do it manually. I hope this review helps you, and I am terribly sorry for not having any more information to review on, but you can see that I am not trying to get pregnant or am having sex in middle school, so that’s good. 😅🙃😅

I would pay you to change it back!. Every time you guys respond to your users awful reviews all you say is “oh we’re so sorry we are trying to improve the app for you etc.” but the thing is that we have been telling you guys for MONTHS AND MONTHS AND MONTHS that it’s broken, our data has been deleted numerous times, and that we absolutely HATE the updated design. If you actually care at all what we think then you need to go back to the original design and stop trying to add all these bells and whistles that keep messing everything up. Now, I know you can’t just revert back to the original, it doesn’t work that way. But your team needs to sit down and take you time to redesign the app as what the original looked like, remove the stupid unnecessary stuff and re-release the “new version” of the original. If you guys posted a fund for people to donate to, I would literally donate thousands of dollars for you to fix this garbage. We are that serious. You had something great, you ruined it and you continue to ignore the users all saying the same thing. Take responsibility for what you’ve done.

Redesigned/updated version is NOT user friendly. The newly redesigned/updated version of this app is TERRIBLE. The key elements of the app— being able to track your period, take a quick view of past history in a calendar view, log things like “activity” and “mood” are now cumbersome and more difficult to access and log. For example, my period started two days ago, and on that day I tapped “period started today”... but now two days later it’s still asking me to tap the button that says “period started today”. The horizontal scrolling “quick log” is not intuitive to use. I liked the old version where you open the app, all of your categories were right there, easy to view, and you know you were adding to THAT day. It was easy to update a previous day, and the actual calendar made sense. Adding all the “resources” is great, but that’s not MY primary reason for using this app. I think you guys got wrapped up in that and forgot why most women use this app— TO TRACK OUR PERIODS. I’ve been using Spot On for about four years, but I pretty much hate it now and am going to stop using it and find another that’s more user friendly and intuitive. I’m really disappointed. :(

Terrible experience. I used to use this app all the time, I had it since I was about 16 years old and I was really confused as to why it wouldn’t allow me to edit the emojis, I have been with this app and company for several years and have been a very supportive member. I’ve always donated money whenever I possibly could and I have helps contribute to the trial run of this app back whenever it first came out. It’s been amazing but considering all of the bugs that I have experienced recently I am getting quite tired of the runaround. The app is not working the way that it used to and I am not going to put up with it any longer. It used to let me edit the information and adjust it to my lifestyle. I didn’t just use it as a period tracking app, I used it to log my entire life and all the choices that I used to make but now that somebody else must be running it or whatever it’s not allowing me to do the things that it used to and it’s not allowing me to track my lifestyle in my life the way that it used to. So considering that y’all have done nothing to help this issue even though I’ve reached out more than once I am done with this app I don’t recommend it to anyone and refuse to use it from this point forward.

No longer works.... I’ve been using this app since 2017 and until just recently, it was my go-to app for tracking not only my birth control, but just about everything that had to do with my reproductive health. I use the ring, and when I downloaded it, it was the only app that included this method. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, however, it no longer works at all. None of my information is saved. I somehow still get reminders about when it’s time to take my ring out, and occasionally it’ll remind me to put a new one in, but the app itself is a nightmare now. When I hit the button to say I’ve taken my ring out or I’ve put it in, it doesn’t save, and so every month it tells me I’m “not protected” as though I’ve missed it completely. It even tells me I don’t *have* a birth control method. It no longer tracks my periods regardless of how many times I edit them in. It doesn’t do ANYTHING. It won’t even save my account information. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app several times and nothing seems to fix it. I’ve had to download another app as a backup so that I can keep track of my ring cycle and ensure I get reminders to take them out/put them in. I’m so disappointed in this app now. It had so many options before the big update last year, and now it’s pretty much useless.

I LOVE THIS APP 💕. This app is amazing! I never ever forget to take my birth control pills EVER, because this app reminds me everyday at the same time that I chose. I love that it tracks my period, so I’m always aware of when I’m going to start so I can keep a tampon with me. I love the fact that everyday I can put in how my body is feeling and if I slept well and what moods I’m in for the day, so that if something ever happens, I can go back and see what my symptoms were. I also love that your information can be kept PRIVATE if you want to. You can put a password, so that when you click the app, you won’t be able to access it unless you use your fingerprint and/or your password. Love that option. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this app! You won’t regret it! It also lets you know if you missed a pill at all and it gives you all the information you need on the app if you have ANY questions! NO customer service needed!

Could use a few tweaks. I prefer this app over any of the other period tracker apps that I’ve tried for a variety of reasons — the availability of Planned Parenthood’s resources and the fact that it uses gender-neutral language throughout being central among them. But there are a few features that the app is sorely missing, and I agree with the other reviews that the old look was nicer and much easier to use. I missed tracking a month right after the update happened because a bug made it impossible to log any information; the bug has been fixed, but for months afterward the app failed to accurately predict my period and there was no way to fix the problem except for manually adding in the missed period using guesswork; I opted to delete and reinstall the app without migrating my old data over instead to start from scratch. I also wish that there was an option to change the time that the app rolls over from one day to the next. I work evenings and am naturally a night owl, so I usually don’t settle in to record the day’s information until after midnight, when the date has already changed. It’s a mild inconvenience, but it can confuse the app into thinking that my period has already ended and makes using the app just a little bit more frustrating. I’ve used other apps that have the option to adjust the time that the date rolls over to fit your schedule and would like it if that was implemented here.

Lost it’s true value for me. I started using this app a couple of years ago. I stopped because I didn’t need to track anything and then once I started a new birth control method, I started using it again. I ESPECIALLY started using it (THE OLD VERSION) because it was super duper helpful for tracking moods and symptoms for my therapist. I was able to see the totals of how many times I had a panic attack, how many times I couldn’t sleep, how many times I had sex in the month, how many times I had a 5/10 day. I MISS those tallies. In this new version, logging your daily mood and activity is pointless because there’s no where to view everything you logged. If you go to the calendar, you don’t even have the option of seeing every time you logged a happy face. It’s a waste. I miss the old version. This one glitches and didn’t even remind me to take out my ring and also has been missing reminders to log daily. All of my notifications are on. Super duper disappointed. It doesn’t serve its purpose for me anymore. I loved being able to see how many 9/10 days I had that month. It was a great mental health tool. Can I have the old version back?

disappointing update. i am keeping this at 4 stars because i loved the old version of this app so much. i am trans non binary and this was the only period tracking app that didn’t force gender all over the place. it was easy to use, very customizable, and super helpful with keeping track of my severe and difficult periods. however this new update feels clunky, is harder to navigate and use, and undid several of my saved settings. it also took MANY tries to get it to log in and when i gave up and tried to make a new account it wouldn’t let me, booted me out, and somehow signed me into my original account after all. i miss the emoji bubbles being so easy to get to and seeing options all at once! all this clicking through is confusing. the new look of the calendar is fine, but i would’ve liked the ovulation tracking to be something i chose, not something that got plunked in there. it is helpful to know what is going on, but being trans that kind of stuff makes me really dysphoric. i hope the bugs get worked out of this update! i’m sure a lot of time and effort has gone into and i would love to be able to continue using this app.

This app is fantastic!!. This app has really helped me, not only in tracking my period, but also in making sure that I’m monitoring other aspects of my life. There is a “Mood” section, which allows you to track your mood over the duration of different cycles, and you can customize it with whatever moods you want to add, in addition to the default moods. There is a “Body” section, which allows you to track symptoms, both in general, as well as period related symptoms. There is an “Action” section, which I have found to be especially helpful. It allows you to track your eating, exercise, and self-care habits, and is, again, customizable. I have found that this helps me to stay on track with taking care of myself, and the app is very user friendly, so it’s not something I really have to push myself to remember to do. The period tracking portion helps with knowing how heavy your cycle is on a daily basis. The app also allows you to input your birth control method, which I’ve never had from a period tracker app before! It’s been really helpful in reminding me to take my pill, and in terms of helping me to know when my next cycle will be in relation to my other plans. I hadn’t used a period tracking app since starting birth control but this app got be back into tracking it, and I’ve found it to be incredibly useful and user friendly. Definitely worth downloading!

Give me my app back!. This app used to be basically perfect. I could simply log my cycle (flow, activity, mood, mind, and body) with ease and personal details. I also appreciated being able to add my own items to each category (mood, activity, body) so I could personalize my experience. Now however, the app is ENDLESS scrolling, less straight forward, and honestly bothersome. I see that it says editing emojis will come soon but not soon enough. I also hope when it’s updated that I can add my emojis back to categories or else the personalization this app used to offer is basically nonexistent which was basically the main reason I loved this app... In addition, creating an account was a hassle because the current password requirements states that Only a symbol, uppercase & lowercase letter is needed with 10 characters but I was unable to make a password until I added a number... so please update the text on what is required or update the password requirements... I am already on my period and I don’t want even my tracking app to be a hassle.

Great but can be tweaked. I love Spot On! As a former Planned Parenthood employee, I was constantly advocating for this app whenever I started a patient on birth control or if they had already been on bc and just needed a tracker. The app is pretty solid and simple to use, but it really, REALLY needs the functionality of adding notes on each day. For example, a user might need to log that they took their pill but they took it late, or they had spotting but it was heavier than normal. Right now we only have the options of taking the pill or not and spotting or a full-on period. Being able to take notes would make it easier to talk to providers and tweak our bc if needed, or explore why we’re having certain symptoms. Also, it would be nice to have an alert or reminder that tells you what to do if you miss multiple pills, or at least gives different options, i.e. toss them and take today’s pill (to keep the schedule on track), or take them and extend your cycle by x number of days (so if you missed 3 pills, it would add 3 days to the cycle). I don’t know the exact logistics of that, but it would be helpful.

Used to love it... not so much now.. Okay, so I used this app when I was a freshman in high school, but I was bad about keeping track and ended up deleting it. Now, looking back, that was stupid and would’ve helped me SO much. Now, I’m a senior, and... I don’t know what happened to the app. Like it looks entirely different. Plus, it won’t let me change like ANYTHING, especially reminder time? I don’t even get the reminders and I’ve checked both to see if they were all on in the app as well as in my settings on my phone. I also don’t like that when it has the list of things as a “quick” option, it glitches or something and makes everything move all over and it’s frustrating. Also, the home screen has these two oval-ish circles at the top but no labels? And it said the one on the left when I clicked it that it was about inserting a ring when I take pills. The other didn’t even do anything. I used to really love the positive messages and everything on this app. It made me feel good. But I don’t see those, either. Also, going from day to day, it doesn’t even show the date or anything unless I literally go to the calendar and do it which is a bit annoying if I forgot to put stuff in the day before. Again, I used to love this app. I just wish it wasn’t like this now, and that you’d go back to how it was way back when everyone loved it. I’m sorry if this comes off harshly, I just really think you should change things for not just me but everyone else using it.

“Start a new pack” setting is messed up. I like this app, particularly bc I can track my pill pack and missed pills, but there’s one big issue. Once you choose a pack start say, you can’t change it if you got it wrong. I don’t understand who thought that was a good idea, but I don’t see what the purpose of that is. Also, I stopped taking my pills for about two weeks and my app kept reminding me to start a new pack. I eventually did and then entered the date. For some reason, even though the app was sending my pill reminder, it would also send the notification asking “have you started a new pack?” I got tired of it asking me, bc I clearly had, so I hit yes, then it added a new pill pack start day ON THAT DAY— even though I’d started the pack over a week before and had already indicated that. I don’t understand this feature and why you aren’t able to change it, but I hope developers see this and fix it. It’s frustrating that I had to delete the app and lose all of my other data to make it right.

missing the way it used to be. in the old app i was able to enter how i was feeling, my moods, and my activity super easily. now in the new update, it made me create an account so i did. i deleted the app for a little while because the app wouldn’t even open anymore, but it also deleted ALL my period data everywhere, so there was no way for to know when my next period would come. so i redownloaded it and thankfully it saved my data. however, when i go to the account section it has me create an account again. there’s no place to log in with previous accounts. also, it keeps saying that i’ll be able to edit the mood, activity, and body categories soon, but i’ve had this update for 3-4 months now and it has not happened. the only reason i’m keeping the app at this point is for my period info. if another new update happens to roll around and fix all these issues, i think many more people will be satisfied.

Great App Could Use Other Features Though. I think this app is a wonderful new alternative compared to other period apps available. It is really nice how this app can be specific to the type of birth control you are taking such as ring, IUD, patch, shot instead of only having the pill option. The app is great at providing you with information on your type of birth control as well as other important facts. It is also nice to be able to get reminders for your birth control right from the app. However, I think this app would seriously benefit from adding a comments option for the calendar. That way the user can add more detail to help them be able to give their doctor as much information as possible if needed. Such as if your period started at around 10pm and you want to be able to specify bleeding started late night instead of it appearing like it was all day. It would also be very helpful if the dates when you put in or took out your ring were customizable instead of set based on when you put it in once. Some people wait an extra week sometimes to take it out and get their period, but with this app you can't really adjust that. Also, for some reason my ovulation dates are not appearing in my calendar. I see that it is a feature from the featured pictures in the app description, but I cannot figure out how to get my ovulation dates to appear. Overall, it is a wonderful app and I'm sure it'll only get better!

Incredibly Helpful. I’ve been using this app for I don’t even know how long. I’ve never had a “normal” cycle or period, ever since my very first one almost hospitalized me. I’ve never been very good at guessing when my period would come because it was so irregular. I downloaded this app to track my period and then I started using all of its awesome features. I started using this app before I was sexually active simply for the help it offered. I tried many kinds of period control and almost nothing wanted to work for me but this app helped me keep track of everything I tried and the different ways it affected me. I recently got an IUD put in after much hesitation (the first time I tried the IUD it fell out on its own after a week and a half.) So far its been excellent in helping me track my periods, fertile days and moods. Now that I am sexually active it is so helpful also with keeping track of when I’ve had sex! I love all the the features it offers and the helpful information. They are always adding new features and other important improvements to the app. I recommend this app to every person with a uterus!

Perfect but could use a few extra options. So it does let you have many options on body, mind, blood amount and such. But on the nine period days I wish it would add options such as -super stressful day -very relaxed day -had protected sex -had unprotected sex Like the idea would be it’s not related to the period because factors like these can cause the period to come sooner or way later. For most young girls who experience sex for the first time or have a stressful week normal have their period a few days to a week late. And it would be cool to have the app given the function to do the math and explain these things. For example: it seem you had a whole week being stressed, tour body is going to function a little more different, try not to worry if your period starts a few days early or few days late. Keep the days updated and we will keep you updated. Or It looks like you had sex unprotected a few times. To be safe, make sure to take a plan b pill and to not miss your daily dose of pills if you are on it. For safe measures, try using protection if your goal is to not be pregnant. Other than that the app is great, cheap, easy to use and has the variety of functions to choose from. Just hoping to get more of a medical input and some more info out to those who need it. The range could be 13+ but the girls starting out who need the extra hand could use the few extra pointers and facts to help them along the way.

Update kinda ruined it. I used to love this app so much. It was easy to understand. Simple layout, easy to track BC, period, and moods. Now the opening page isn’t even the calendar. Just a giant inspirational quote and the first “button” you see (that’s always there) is “my ring is out”. Now I know this is just a button you CAN press to indicate you have taken your ring out on the correct day BUT on days you aren’t supposed to take is out I have a small panic attack thinking I’ve missed it! Every time. The calendar has some issues too. The bright blue highlighted “BC” days and intense red period days tricks the brain into thinking that’s the date. The muted light grey color that really indicates the day is far too pale in comparison (plus the grey only shows if it’s clicked on the correct day). It weirdly is quite disorienting every time you open to log something. Preferred the day by day larger image for control and clarity with the option for full month layout. The old app layout was far superior. Much faster and easier to navigate. This version leaves me stressed, frustrated, and confused. Hoping for another update that smooths out some of these issues.

App is making mistakes now. This is now my second review & I’m never compelled to write reviews but the developers NEED to do something. I use this to track my period & birth control. This new update is absolute garbage. It’s hard to navigate. It assumes it knows what symptoms you have. It’s just so inconvenient but I don’t know any other app that is as good as this USED to be otherwise I would’ve switched apps when this update came out. Today I logged in as usual & it told me I was supposed to start my placebo pill two days ago??? I have a separate alarm on my phone that tells me when to take my pill & I haven’t missed one & I’m on time everyday, I dont rely on the app to let me know— it’s more of reassurance. I know I don’t start my placebos for another 2 days so why is it telling me this is my placebo week? I panicked & pulled out my pack & I was still on the correct day to take my active pill. After filling out my info as if new, it’s not correct. But it cause so much anxiety in me & I’m going to start looking for a new app. I was such a big fan of the previous version. I’m just so disappointed & I feel like I cannot trust this app anymore.

Used to love this app :(. The new update on this is terrible. It used to be so easy to input data and view it, now it’s cumbersome. Worst of all, it never used to count spotting as your actual period (it shouldn’t!) but now it does. As soon as you say “spotting” it says “period started.” That is very frustrating for those of us who spot a lot but want to keep track of it completely separate from our period. I only gave it two stars instead of one because I hold out hope that one of these updates will fix this crap :(. I don’t want to lose 2 years of data because the app did a 180 in the wrong direction! Update: My app crashed the other day, and I had to delete it and re install. No big deal, the info was backed up to my account-or so I thought. Turns out in September of last year my app crashed and logged me out without me knowing it. It didn’t tell me I had been logging since then “anonymously” so a year’s worth of data is completely gone. Customer service was as helpful as they could be…but the app is so trashed now, they can only do so much. This app has so many bugs, crashes all the time, and every update seems to only make it worse. Seriously the only reason I put up with the inconveniences before this was because I had so much data saved. Since that’s gone, I’ll be moving on to a different app. Disappointing.

Just doesnt work?. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong with this app, but I cannot get it to show me period predictions past one month. What I mean is, I reach the new cycle and input the days, but then it doesnt show the next month even after my period ends. I end up having to wipe my data and manually input my recent period again to get a prediction. It definitely does not seem to be working as intended. I used a very old version if the app for a long time before I was forced to update and it worked so much better! I liked seeing the calendar right on the first screen and the tracker was very accurate. This newer one has been all but useless. Edit after dev response: There is no easy way to mark a period as ended if you miss the day? I tend to not be thinking about my period app after the cycle has started. The old version I had to open once per month, and could go back and enter if I forgot to enter it, and this version requires me not only to check it twice, but if I forget to check, then it becomes useless unless I wipe my old info and reenter the recent month. Edit2: It won’t even let me put “period ended” on the day of now! And if you click the button on the wrong day, no way to edit it! A great app turned absolutely worthless! Edit3: Deleted it, apple health does a better job tracking it than this app. Used to be a great, functional app, but I guess someone had to make their mark and redesign it into oblivion.

Good, but not for Nuvaring. I used to love this app, I especially like that you can access the planned parenthood app from it and they have all the FAQS for birth control and periods, etc. I also like being able to track my period symptoms. I’ve been using Spoton to track my period for probably more than a year until now... I switched to using the ring as birth control and the information that Planned Parenthood gives is soo wrong!! Please follow the medication’s instructions rather than this app because it is completely misleading. On the ring, you have it inserted for 21 days, and then you remove it for 7 days as a break, when you may also get your period. On the 7 day break you ARE protected!! The app would tell me that I needed to immediately insert a new ring after removing the old one or I would be unprotected, and continued to send me reminders about it. While inserting a new one or keeping the old one in for 4 weeks is an option, spoton does not leave room for you to decide and also tells you that you are unprotected from pregnancy, which is false. I have also been on the pill and used this app to track it, so it really confused me when this happened. I was very disappointed in this feature, and although I like the overall app, I would not recommend it for Nuvaring users. Hopefully there is not more misleading information about other forms of birth control on the app or the website.

Update is incredibly difficult. I have been using this app for a long time it used to be great easy to update and manipulate throughout the day. I’m so lost with the update and i marked one thing wrong and the new update doesn’t allow you to go back and change anything. It looks like I missed a whole month and a half of my pill and that can’t be changed. I don’t even take the queues anymore from the app to update it because it is already so inaccurate. Also the visual representation of the length and flow of your period used to be much better and the new calendar view leaves a lot to be desired because what it was was so good before. I rarely use the app anymore and only keep it for old records of when it was actually easy to use and not completely inaccurate from one wrong move a couple months ago. Only gave 2 stars (an extra opposed to 1) for how it used to be not how it is. Used to recommend it all the time and now I don’t. I love Planned Parenthood so I am keeping it for now but looking for new options to actually keep track again. Coming back with the 1 Star since the app deleted years worth of tracking history!

Ditched another app for this one. I’ve had it for 8 months now. However because my bc pill has never been added, my calendar will always be off. Knowing that there are tons of different types of BC and you may never actually get them all in there, it would be nice to be able to edit the pill slider. Because even though I am able to make a personal account for my pill, it still won’t take exactly how many pills are in there in calculation. So I end up having this problem where it thinks I’m on pill 12 but I’m actually at the end of my pack. It’s good for just keeping the calendar of your period and such but if you are like me who likes everything sewed up and organized, this might shake you a bit because of some of the inaccuracies that will start to happen. And then instead of just editing what pill you are on, it makes you wipe all of your data and you have to re-enter it. It’s such a pain. Other than that though, the calendar has come in handy for someone like me who never gets her period and has to scroll through months for the doctor to get to her last day.

Cannot get past the loading screen.. UPDATE: I did delete and re-download the app and it immediately started working again. Let me log back into my account and my data was still saved. Hopefully it stays working this way. I think overall I’ve been able to use this app twice? I can never seem to get past the loading screen ever, it just keeps pretending like it will load but never does. I’ve had this app for at least six months now and it just doesn’t work. I used it once to track my period and another time to set a reminder for my birth control. The reminders work because the app doesn’t have to load on my screen but I can’t even get into the app to be able to use it now. It’s outrageous and I’ve been having these issues for longer than just this most recent updat that I thought would fix this issue. I’ve restarted my phone and tried everything but delete and re-download but I’m scared all of my data will be deleted then. It’s just so frustrating because I liked it when I was actually able to use it those two times but... I can’t even use it now.

What happened in update!?. I used to love love Love this app. It was easy and clear to use - there were no glitches in my updating my birth control or period cycles. But since the newest update / redesign a couple days ago, I think the app has gone way downhill for me. I made an account, closed the app, and my account was gone. I tried to sign back in and it wouldn’t let me. Tried to make a new account with a different email, same thing happened. I tried to choose “track my period and birth control” and it doesn’t. My favorite part of the app was that I got to confidently click I took my birth control and the app would remember - now there is no mechanism for me to do so (or if there is, if doesn’t appear to me at all!) and it won’t remember what I tell the app if I close my phone or go to another app. Spot On is no longer helpful to me if I can’t track my bc with ease. It’s now more stressful than just remembering by myself. I don’t need these updates and a new calendar - I need confirmation and fewer crashes on my phone. I can’t use the app most times I open it. I can’t change the emojis. I can’t change or take back a decision if I accidentally say I’m on my period. Can you help me at all? This used to bring me so much joy and comfort. Thank you

used to be great, now i’m screwed. i am on the ring, and i have been using this app for almost a year. it used to be perfect for tracking my cycle and my birth control, but this new update has thrown everything off. i was set on a 3-week schedule with my ring, and all of a sudden when i tried to log that i had removed my ring at the designated time, it said i needed to put it back in even though my period had started... turns out, it switched me to a 4-week schedule without telling me, and then on saturday it told me it was time to replace my ring, even though 1.) it told me not to take out the original one and i am supposed to go a week ring-free 2.) my new ring cycle is supposed to begin on SUNDAY. for anyone who knows how nuva rings work, this seemingly minor mistake can be detrimental. but the absolute worst part was that when i opened the app this morning, all my data was GONE. i have lost MONTHS of data and tracking and i have no idea what to do because this used to be the best app by FAR for people on the ring... so thanks a lot.

Ruined a great app. Updated review: been months and still terrible. Honestly, this app is so bad I can’t believe whoever designed this thought it better. It’s HORRIBLE. Hard to use, can’t compare data in any way. It’s so dumb. Why you haven’t changed it back yet is beyond me. This is 50 steps in the wrong direction. I don’t even use it anymore it’s so clunky and buggy and counterintuitive. Every so often I check back to see if it’s been fixed. Not even close. Fire whomever was in charge of overhauling a great app into a total piece of garbage, they CLEARLY do not know what they’re doing. Original review of NEW app: Hate to leave a bad review for PP, but this app update is the worst. Been using this tracker for a few years and LOVED it. Specifically, it was really handy to view patterns on the calendar view (like how many days did I have cramps, how many days in a row exercise, etc), but now all that is gone. What is even the point of the emojis/tracking anything other than if you’re bleeding if you can’t read/compare the data in the app? Also I’ve noticed the period predictor is not as good. Off by days. I’m back to using Clue now too in addition to this, just because Clue is more accurate. I love Planned Parenthood and will support them always, but whoever thought this redesigned app was better isn’t great at their job.

Keeps messing up my data. I switched to Spot On last year to prevent my period data being leaked and it worked great at first but I noticed after a while that it would continuously mess up my data if I didn't keep up with it. I thought this was supposed to be a low maintenance app where it gave me reminders to take my pill but I noticed that it would only give me my notifications and then stop after a while. I only check back in with this app every month to make sure that it knows that I start a new pill pack and I specifically remember everything being clear and fine last month, but all of a sudden this month and all my past data shows that I was unprotected even though I entered in the dates of my period and when I started my new pack. This is extremely frustrating as I am forgetful and need an app to be able to track my cycle and when to start my next pill pack, that also isn't going to sell my data. I don't know how to fix this but it is extremely frustrating especially since I always make sure to check back in with the app to enter this information and to have it be messed up like this and change my information makes me to mad!!!!

New updates, all my data is gone ☹️. I don’t know what’s wrong with the app that made them giving us update. For me the app was perfectly fine until I updated the last version, and….I couldn’t open the app. When I uninstalled and reinstalled it again, it asked me to create an account or continue without account with consequences that all my data will gone if I uninstall or change my phone. Well, the thing is….I already have account, and I don’t have option to use my account because the app asks me to create a new account. I tried to put my account in the create new account and it always said that the account already exist. Of course it already exists because it’s my account! So my options are if I create new account, I could get my old data, and….if I choose to continue with No account, I also can’t see my old data. So what’s solution is this? You guys really screw up and give us with no option at all. I’m really upset with this update! 😡 I think I’ll go back to my old method by using my phone’s calendar. At least my data will always stay in the cloud and not gone than using this app! 😡

Nowhere to Sign in.. I’ve been using this app since 2017 and when it was recently updated all of my data disappeared without me even doing anything. I have tried a countless amount of times now since the update to find where the login option is and I’ve come to the conclusion that they either forgot to add a login section because I’ve looked everywhere or it’s on purpose which would be ridiculous if that’s the case. I’ve even tried creating a new account and it won’t allow me to because I’ve already used my one and only email for the account I lost in the update. I’ve also emailed them asking for advice and heard absolutely nothing back. I love this app, I wouldn’t have used it for almost four years if I didn’t. The update is definitely different but I do like it. I just wish I had all of my data back and a way to log into my account. I see they’ve posted that they’re working on fixing it, but that was a month ago and still no update.

Great for tracking but could be more helpful. I love that this app keeps track of your bc and reminds you when to take the pill each day. However, besides helping me keep track of if I took it or not and when my period is it doesn’t really differentiate from any other typical calendar. I wish there was a feature that provided more advice and prediction if I skipped a pill. Say I skipped one day by accident and doubled up on the pill the following day. I wish there was a way to track that, because for now it’s just “did you or did you not take it?” By tracking what days I had to double up it would help track if I’m more susceptible to getting pregnant since doubling up can effect this. Sometimes I forget what days I had to double up on a pill so an additional feature where I can select “forgot pill” instead of “did not take” and then the next day giving the option of “took two pills” and then following it up with a warning on protection and being less protected so I don’t have to google it every time

New update missing important functionality. In short, the new update is missing functionality I found very useful. I’m on the pill and generally a forgetful person, so I used to use this app to remember to take my birth control at a certain time or check if I remembered to take it that day. This was especially helpful for me because I’m on an abnormal pill taking cycle in which I take all the pills in one pack and take 3 more from another pack. The functionality that kept me engaged with the app daily was that it asked me if I had taken my pill yet and I could answer yes or no. If I forgot to log a day in, the next day the app would ask me if I took my pill or missed it the day I forgot to log. With the new update, this functionality is gone. Each day it just assumes that you have taken your pill. It gives you the option to say you missed the pill that day but if I forgot to take the pill, I wouldn’t have remembered to put that in the app. The app is just not helpful for me anymore and the logging process is not as good as it used to be. I don’t care if the app looks nice. I want it to work well.

Notifications don’t work. I used to LOVE this app. I had been using it since 2017 to keep track of my birth control and periods. Before I started using this app, I had difficulty remembering when it was time to change my ring. The notification feature really helped with this. However, recently the app has stopped sending me notifications. I don’t know why this is. I didn’t change anything in the app settings or in my phone’s notification settings. I have tried troubleshooting the problem in multiple ways: restarting my cell phone, disabling and reenabling notifications for the app, changing what time I am supposed to receive reminders. I’ve even tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing has worked. Before this issue, I loved this app. I had used it since 2017! I would have previously given it 5 stars. The overhaul made the app more awkward to use. However, it still functioned. Then in October, I stopped receiving notifications. The notification feature for periods and changing my ring is the reason I chose to use this app. For me, it’s now practically useless. In November I was late changing my ring, because the app failed to give me a notification. I’m grateful I’m on birth control for controlling painful periods, and not for pregnancy prevention. I would have been at risk for an accidental pregnancy. Please get notifications working again!!!!

WAS a great app. Update: I loved this app until the recent update, now it won’t open and I cannot access my stored information. If I delete the app to try to download again, I will lose all of my current information; what is the point in continuing to have an app on my phone that will not open?! I’m not pleased. If I had paid for this app, I would be demanding a refund; immediately. I have given it over a week since the update, to right itself; I still cannot open it or access my stored information. I’m dropping my rating from 4 stars to 1; only because I cannot take away all of the stars. Previous review: The only thing I have seen so far that I would love to add, is a notebook page that allows you to make some daily notes for those who would like to. Being able to make a personal note including information like how long the cramps were so bad I can’t walk, or how bad my headache that day was; would be really beneficial, to track my symptom cycles fully. I noticed that the section where you can add in your current birth control methods, doesn't have an option for a tubal ligation which I had done but I still need to track my cycles; mostly for symptoms, but knowing exactly when to expect my period/ovulation is still important. Thank you so much for the app, it really helps!!

Easy to use, but would like more!. I have been using this for some time (maybe since it came out) I like how easy and quick it is to keep track of things, and also that you can add specific items/actions. I would like some sort of cycle specific reminders around the time your expected to your period, and reminders that ask did you get it? around that time. I have an implanon and my cycle can be erratic, and sometimes when I’m off my period I forget to return to the app despite the daily reminder. One thing I would like it a notes section that I can add a few sentences about the day in case there’s something out if the ordinary that happened. I’d also like a special category about care. Something to track if you went to the doctor, if you got any tests done that you want the results plugged in, more notes about when you put your nextplanon in and how the procedure went, etc.

Don’t really like it now. I started birth control I think one/two years ago so I was told to use this app and it was really easy to navigate and track my pill , with this new version sometimes I don’t even get my reminders and it’s kinda hard to understand and today it would not open so I uninstalled and reinstalled it to see if it worked , and it did but then it was asking me to make a new account but no option to login to the one I already made. I really liked this app before the update but the update was really nice and cute but I just had a hard time getting used to it and when I get a pill reminder it just says got it or remind me later . The other version was better imo and it showed every pill I took everyday. Now I can’t login to the account I made there’s no option for it when I reinstalled the app it just asked to import my data and then it takes me to make a new account

HATE IT!! It’s useless NOW. I am only giving it one star, because there isn’t an option to give ZERO stars. I would use this app on a daily basis. After this new update everything was ruined. Then there’s was another update that was supposed to fixed the issues and that did absolutely NOTHING. I created an account and I can’t even log in. It keeps telling me to create an account and when I try again, it tells me I already have one to just sign in. There isn’t an option to sign in. The main purpose of the app is to track your period and birth control (if your on it) it’s to track when I take my pill NOT just when I missed. WHY AM I ONLY GIVEN THE OPTION TO MARK IF I MISSED MY PILL AND NOT BOTH LIKE BEFORE???? I’m DONE!! They can cancel my account. NOT going back to this one. IMPORTANT NOTE TO THEIR TECH TEAM PLEASE test the freaking app before you roll it out to the public. This update was really half *ss. It seems you focused more on the appearance than the actual functionality of it.

Old was better. Apps developers try to “update” their app and when they do, about 89% of the time, will only makes it worse. Well SPOT ON did just that. Destroyed a perfectly fine, usable, and functional app. The update back in January made the app almost unusable. I had to fight with customer service for 4 months to solve the issue because they took 3 weeks to reply each time. Now that I finally got my account up and running after all those months, it never keeps me login, takes FOREVER to save any changes, and is not user friendly to keep tabs on my pill anymore. I really liked the previous version so I had no idea why they thought changing something was just fine was the way to go. I really depended on this app but lucky for me, I also use two other ones for personal other notes. Since this app also keeps crashing, I guess I’ll just let it go since they still haven’t found a way to fix to make it actually useable.

Loved the previous version, Hate the new design :(. The previous versions of the app were so much more comfortable. It was perfect but now it has become so counter intuitive. Before the app would ask every day if I had taken the pill, now this option isn’t available, and with the update the app told me to take the pill again two days before than the actual date. Overall the layout is now much less comfortable. There isn’t a simple way anymore to track the days, since even the calendar has become so difficult to follow. What I used to love about this app was the simplicity, the fact it was so effortless to use. Now it seems to require so much more work to have simple information. I adored the previous version. And I hope to see some changes soon, since the app was very good and its great that it is made by planned parenthood.

Thank You Planned Parenthood. I read reviews on various apps and originally chose Spot On as a support for Planned Parenthood and all the incredible work they do. But, I immediately took to the app and enjoyed its fun design. I have been using it for quite a while now and have seen some great improvements. It has grown rather quickly and I am glad to watch its success. The only reason I am not (yet) giving it 5 stars is because there are a few significant areas with room for improvement. The area that mainly affected me was the two times I became pregnant and there was not a way to annotate those months. I improvised by adding a feature in the “actions” section that read “We’re Pregnant”, but it’s not an comprehensive way to document one’s pregnancy. Also, there should be a way to annotate miscarriage in order to track how that affects a woman’s health and cycle. I read other comments I agree with, such as way to write actual notes in the calendar, and more tailored options for documenting ring usage, etc.. Again, there is room for improvement, but I do see Spot On working it and I am thankful for the help it has been so far. Once at least some of the mentioned recommendations are incorporated I will definitely be back to add the fifth star. Thank you for all the work and support you give, Planned Parenthood!

The latest update makes this very hard to use. I’ve been using this app for about a year, just for period tracking. The previous version was great! Right on the front page, you could scroll through the days and see both when your period was supposed to arrive and what entries you had put on previous days. To add items for a given day, it was one click away. That’s all gone. I mean, the info is all still there, but it’s much harder to get to. To add items go a given day you have to scroll to the right, then click, then everything is presented in minuscule font. To see a previous day, you no longer simply scroll to the left through the days, now you have to click a button (also tiny, btw) to go day by day. If you want to look ahead to your period, you can no longer scroll (or click) right. Now you have to go over to a whole other tab. Basically, the new update is harder to use and harder to read. All the data is still there, but this is now very frustrating to use. Disappointing.

Great app....but I liked the old look. I really like this app overall, I’m not trying to get pregnant so having an app that was able to track my birth control (for free, not as a purchase) has been great! Generally the interface is fine and I like the things you can track. I don’t like the new look for the app, mostly because it gives me weird prompts for whether I have take out or put in my new birth control. I use the ring and on the days I’m supposed to take it out it used to ask if I took out my ring or left it in, which made sense because that’s what you’re supposed to do. Now it asks if my period has started or if I put in a new ring, neither of which make sense for my cycle which it used to know before the update or for how the ring works. I keep the app only because it’s the only one I’ve seen that tracks all forms of BC so well, but maybe re-evaluating the interface and the prompts it gives?

Nuvaring issues. I used to love this app before I got pregnant but when I returned to it after having my baby it had changed and now some of the options for the ring method of birth control are off. For example: when it asks if you change your ring every 3 weeks or 4 weeks. I wear mine for 3 weeks, take it out for a week to have my period, then put it back in. When you select 3 weeks it doesn’t let you “skip a week” it literally just reminds you all week to keep putting your ring in even though it’s your out week. If you pick 4 weeks, it will allow you to “skip a week” but then your reminders to insert and take out your ring are off which kind of defeats the purpose of the app. Also if you select 4 weeks it asks you if you’re currently wearing your ring but if you select 3 weeks it does not.

wow. I missed my pill today and tried going on the app to see why it didn't send me a notification like it normally does and of course won't even load the home screen. I've tried going on the app previous to this multiple times and it did the same things, just wouldn't open. I thought maybe it was just my connection so I thought nothing of it at the time. (and this was over 2 weeks ago!) Finally figured I'd check the reviews or see if the app is down and looks like multiple people are experiencing the same thing. Since the update the app has seem to crash and burn. It was great at first I loved it made everything so easy and I wouldn't forget a day EVER. Now the display os confusing and doesn't offer the same thing it did before that got me hooked. Really disappointing to see the app change to a confusing layout without the same features that I had loved. Why did you guys change it? And now, it's not even useable. Please fix this problem. I'd like to not miss a day again as well as not get pregnant. Thanks.

Do not like this “improved” version. New review after a few months: I can’t even open the app now. It just stays in the loading screen for as long as I leave the app there. I haven’t been able to access it for weeks. I started using a different app since this one is no longer reliable. I wish there was a way to go back to the old version Original review: I miss the old version. I could easily make edits if I needed to. With this new version it uploaded my previous information wrong and it kept saying I was missing pills and no where was I able to mark that I had taken my pills. The home screen only gives the option to mark a missed pill. The only options are “I missed a pill” and “started a new pack”. Lame. I had to completely delete all data from the app, my cloud, and uninstall the app. I selected that I skip the placebo pill every 3 packs. Sometimes I do just 2 or I dont skip. You can’t edit that. After years of using this app I’m now trying to find a new app to use.

Inability to edit birth control logs renders app useless. The fact that there is zero way to edit putting in a new ring or having a ring app makes this app functionally useless. I accidentally entered something on the wrong day, and now have no way to change it so the app is telling me incorrect information. This app could be super useful and I love the premise but without the ability to edit logs it just doesn’t work in reality. There’s also no way to actually delete your account, when I try to do so I get taken to a page where I can select the option as to why I am deleting my account, but no option to actually delete. Seems to be a formatting issue, where I can’t scroll on the pag but the ability to actually delete things is cut off. I had thought about trying to delete my account and starting over with the correct data but doesn’t seem worth the effort in all honesty because I will probably make a mistake again at some point, and then the app is no good to me

Great if you don't want to get pregnant. Updated October 2020: After a couple reviews that didn’t work on my phone, I am back to using the app normally. Original review: I track my period for overall health, not fertility, so I appreciate that this app doesn't assume I'm eager to get pregnant - I'm not. I am also glad they added the ability to track custom items! Better analytics would still be nice. It's not really interesting to see that last month I reported something 4 times, unless I'm also seeing that I usually report X if I have recently done Y. "Hey, we notice that months where you don't sleep enough, your cramps are worse" would be a good example. Or "Hey, have you noticed you have a sad day then an angry day before your period? Think twice before sending stern emails. 😉" that kind of thing.

Love it!. For the moment I only use this app to track my period and for information. I’m currently 17 years old and have learned what I need to know about safe sex from Planned Parenthood. It’s a blessing that there are quick answers in the app as well as helpful tips and reminders that teach me more about my body and future sexual health. Things as simple as spotting, which I had never heard of before, or that a cycle has fertile days were new bits of information that the app was able to kindly teach me to the point where girl friends of mine are asking me questions about their sexual health because I’ve been paying attention to Planned Parenthood and SpotOn. So thank you! The only thing I’m somewhat upset about is that the number that the app links us too for questions doesn’t seem to work, so it’s incredibly hard to ask specific questions. But overall it is an amazing app.

Not the same. Also no notifications.. I have had this app for years and it was perfect. As many others have said here, they loved the app previously but the overhaul missed the mark. It’s not as straight forward as before, not so user intuitive, there’s no longer custom moods/emojis (cause many included don’t reflect what I experience in my cycle), and to top it off notifications just stopped happening. It used to remind me every night to log my daily status. Now notifications are on and set but I never ever get alerted. Honestly I only remember to open the app when I’m actually bleeding. Even then I track 1 or 2 days then forget the rest. So disappointing. Please find a way to correct all the changes we miss from the previous version. No one asked for this. Edit - on a new phone now & the app just won’t open, loads forever. Can’t back up my data. So disappointed.

Such a bummer of an update. This app was working perfectly fine until this update pushed through. There’s no option to Log In, just register or go forward without an account. Without an account, it somehow had some past info, my insisted I had to start a new pill pack. My bc method was an old outdated one, but no matter how many times I tried to update, it wouldn’t let me. I then closed the app and tried to register, and it still found my old info, but I had the same problems. So I logged out, but as I said before, there’s no way to log back in! Attempting to register with my same info gave me the error that an account already existed with this info (clearly) but no other way to get around it. I really was relying on this app since I switched to the mini-pill and my periods are much more unpredictable. Hoping a fix comes through, but I hope the developers see this huge influx of negative reviews and work to reverse this or improve functionality as soon as possible.

“Update” ruined the app. I loved this app and I’ve been using it for the past year or so. I liked that you could set your own symptoms or moods and that the app was user friendly. After the most recent update, though, the format has completely changed and it’s not as easy to access the mood/symptom trackers. The calendar is not as easy to read (you have to click into each day to see information instead of having an overview of when your period was and what symptoms you had as in the previous version). After a few days of using the new version, I realized that my old method of birth control had been restored as my current method. When I tried to changed it, though, all my data was erased and the app has now glitched to where I can’t get past the “yes/no” screen to confirm my current method of BC. Please bring back the old version. I tried many period trackers before finding this one and I would like to keep using this, but the current version is unusable.

awesome ! until the update. i’ve been using this app for almost 3 years now and i’ve loved every bit of it. it was easy to use, it tracks my birth control (iud) and it’s just really good! very user friendly and and easy to keep track of everything ! BUT , you guys have added updates that i’m not too fond of unfortunately:/ i haven’t been able to even open the app in days. it just loads and loads and loads until i just give up after 10 minutes and close it. i don’t like the new layout or the new calendar. i liked being able to see my 3 picked “emojis” that showed me an overview of the month and which days i used them. it was easy to track which days i had a period, just spotted, had sex, etc. i also liked the section that lets you compare last month and this month. idk i just really don’t like it. it’s not user friendly in my opinion and a lot of things i liked about the app, aren’t available anymore. i might download a new app. i personally don’t like the new update which is a shame because i’ve loved it for the past 3 years.

Why the update?. Edit: Dropped a star because now I can't even get into the app anymore. It just sits on the loading screen forever. The app was fine as it was for my purposes, but now adding daily information is much clunkier. There's all this visual dead space, none of my custom emojis are in the right categories, I can't see an entire category (or the whole list of categories) at once... now what was a very simple process is frustrating for no apparent reason. Frankly, as someone with ADHD, you've made that part of your app inaccessible to neurodivergent users. It doesn't help that the app is now far, far laggier across the board. By default it displayed my predicted fertile window with no way to turn it off, which was upsetting, but when I tried to reset my period data it shifted all my past data into "past birth control"—confusing wording, given I wasn't tracking a method then either (the app has never supported the method I use, so I don't track it from the settings). It then shuffled the dates of my most recent period around at random—recording a 9-day period as 13, then recording 2 of the days I removed in settings as a 2-day period. Besides a few emoji adds (wish I could replace my custom emoji from years past with the new standard ones in one go, since they're functionally identical) and renaming "frisky", I'm failing to see how any of this is an improvement over what was already there. Why break what wasn't broken?

No options for pregnancy. Hi, I have been using this app to track my periods for a few years but I’m disappointed that there seem to be no options whatsoever for me to record that I stopped my period due to pregnancy. And even though I am on my 5th period now since delivery the app hasn’t recalibrated to help predict my next period even though I *am* regular. It’s saying my cycle is “unpredictable” which is probably due to that year-long gap of no periods. For me it’s mostly a user frustration - the app should be able to know that missing a year of periods is normal for pregnancy and doesn’t make my cycle abnormal or unpredictable. But I also think there’s a good chance this kind of thing would draw criticism from those who accuse PP of not supporting pregnancy. If it’s not too difficult to add these options and program the period predictor to calculate accordingly I definitely would suggest you add.

4ish years using the app and frustrated with new changes. TDLR: no way to log in with an existing account, no way to sync data to apple health. Okay so I love this app, it is the most comprehensive when it comes to types of birth control and how to use your BC, but recently (past week or so) every time o tried to open the app it wouldn’t fully open it would just show the little loading logo so this morning I uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone. Now when the new update was first made I made an account and I liked the fact that an account feature was included the problem I am having is there’s nowhere to just log in now. You go to account and it tells you to make one, you type everything in and it tells you to log in because there’s already an account for that email and THERE ISN'T A LOG IN OPTION ANYWHERE. Another minor problem is I can no longer find where to sync the Spoton app data with the apple health data.

Just ok. I’ve used several period tracking apps. The other two I used had more options for tracking and notes to add, which I really liked. But they ended up losing all my data which was insanely frustrating. This one is pretty basic, but it hasn’t lost all my data yet, so that’s helpful. I will say that even though it can tell me that my average cycle length is 28 days, it predicts that my cycle will start several days before it actually should? I can count the days on there myself and figure it out, but since the app is supposed to do that for you… it should be able to do simple math? Not sure what the issue is there. It works for what I need it for, but like I said I mainly just look at the calendar and count the days and log my symptoms to see if there’s a correlation or anything.

Old version was significantly better. I’ve used Spot On for a while now. I enjoyed being able to log pills because of the inspirational quotes I received after. This new version does not let me log my pills. The only option to log is “missed a pill”. Rather than just being reminded to take my pill, the action of going on the app to log it forced me (in a way) to take it. In addition to not being able to log my pills, this new version is very confusing and lost track of my cycle. I always take my placebo pills and rather than reminding me to take my placebo, the app encouraged me to start a new pill pack, when selecting that I didn’t start a pill pack, it out an x for the day and threw my whole calendar off course. Please fix these problems. I have always loved this app and have not found one as good as this one. I will continue to try to figure it out but I would much rather prefer the simple and straightforward design it had before.

Developers listened! So here’s another.... To be short and sweet, Spot On can track your period and give you a heads up if you forget when it's coming! Recently due to reviews, they added customization of your period symptom emojis! Great! The other super life effecting symptom of your monthly cycle is PMS. When your period is predicted to start the app highlights the days in “light pink”, love it! Then the days of your period are bright red. Super useful! How about when your PMS is likely to begin? PMS can often start 5-7 days out and your moodiness and irritability begins. Just the way it tracks the possible 1st day of your menstrual cycle with light pink, consider light yellow for the possible onset of mild PMS and light orange for the predicted onset of medium/severe PMS, with the app responding by turning those days bright yellow when you mark “PMS mild”. Then bright orange for medium/severe PMS. What do you think Spot On community? Developers?

Wonderful tracker - Thanks PP!. I’m so grateful for this tracker because not only can I tell my doctors when I was last on my period, I can also keep track of my mood or physical symptoms every day. It helps give me a better idea of myself in general but especially regarding my period. With this app, I noticed patterns leading up to my period, for example that I got really depressed right before it. So if all of a sudden, I was having an off day, wondering if my meds even worked, I was now able to recognize “wait... it’s awfully close to start day, isn’t it?” And while that doesn’t make the feelings any less valid, it DOES give me insight into “yes, my medicine is working, there’s just been a hormonal shift and tomorrow or the next day, my emotions will right themselves” and i remember to pack some pads in my purse! Wonderful!

Bug issues. I’ve been using this app faithfully for the past 3 yrs and it was amazing, so easy to use and fun to input mood swings etc.. NOW with the new update it made things horrible. I can’t log into my existing account because it just gives me the option to create a NEW one. (It doesn’t even give me the option to sign into my own account???) I kept on using it without an account and thankfully it didn’t delete all my data but I still don’t know if it’s going to save my new input data.. it’s so confusing. I definitely think you guys should reconsider this new update. Too many errors, too many bug fixes!! I didn’t have problems like these with the old version. Really upsetting how they ruined a great app

Needs update for pregnancy. I really like this app and have been using it for over 2 years. I recommend it to anyone looking to track their period. Writing this review because I hope the app makers will consider adding a feature that reflects pregnancy. Earlier this year my partner and I tried and succeeded in getting pregnant and I haven’t found a way to update the app to reflect that. When I get my period again post-pregnancy I’d like to continue inputting data, but I assume that the 9 mos of supposed “missed periods” will make the app calculate my period as unpredictable. Regardless of whether I need to start again with new data post-pregnancy (as I imagine my period will be unpredictable for a bit) it would be nice to have a feature that allows me to select “I’m pregnant” so I don’t have to manually turn off notifications. Also it would be useful for the sake of record keeping. Thanks!

Great app, could use additional features. I have used a few different period tracking apps and I really enjoy this one the most. Part of the reason is because I go to Planned Parenthood for my gyn healthcare, and I like that this is their own app which means I can make appointments through it. The ability to personalize the symptoms/moods/activities/period flow is great but one thing I wish was possible, is the ability to add notes to each day as well. Overall, I think the interface is great but the stats page is one area that is a little confusing to read. Maybe if it was a weekly chart with each data entry listed down a column for each day. That way, it would be easier to see how often certain data is entered. Regardless of my suggestions, I still really enjoy using this app and think it is the best out there!

I use it for more than just periods.. I live in Texas, so the amount of information I get about my cycle is limited to “DIRTY DEMONS COMING OUT OF YOUR NETHER REGIONS!” And since I hit puberty early, it was worse for me. Spot On provides plenty of educational information about my cycle. After consistent use it’s even tracking when I’m about to start my period — something I’d given up hope on because I always thought my cycle was unpredictable. It also keeps track of my moods and physical symptoms, which helps me on more levels than just one. I’ve got bipolar disorder, so when I’m looking at all the information collected together I can see whether my depression is a mood swing or a symptom of PMS, which helps me care for myself accordingly. I love this app and I update information several times a day, even if to just to record my moods to help me stay on top of my bipolar disorder.

Used to be more trans friendly... This app used to let you customize pretty much everything, including the words it used for symptoms and stuff. I'm a trans guy, and it was great to be able to change the language in the app, remove symptoms that didn't apply to me, change wording where it felt right, etc. I loved being able to make the experience more gender neutral and more comfortable to deal with during uncomfortable times. I loved the simplicity of the app, and I loved that I could change it to focus on the things that mattered most to me. New update changed all of that, made it a misery to use, brought back things I had deleted, removed my changes, and locked the settings. I was so disappointed that when the next update came along and erased all my data and made the app unusable I wasn't even bummed. I'm keeping it around for now, in the hopes it gets better again, but this is just loyalty to something that used to be great, I don't actually use it in this state.

Redesign. I’ve been using Spot On for a few months now and have really loved it! For years, I was resistant to use a period tracking app but gave in and downloaded Spot On and loved how it tracks mood, bodily sensations, actions, habits, etc. alongside your period. I’ve found it a very good tool to track both my mental and physical health. My one complaint comes from the recent redesign. I love the new options it includes, however, the lack of a coherent pill tracking option has been troublesome. Previously, you marked yes or no on taking the pill each day. Now, you only mark if you miss a pill, and this has caused me to mark that I’ve missed a pill when that hasn’t been the case. Additionally, there’s no way to edit that information. The redesign features some great functions but also can be very clunky!

Old version was seamless, new version glitches nonstop!. I’ve been using this app for almost 3 years in all of its iterations. About a year ago, I noticed the rebranded the whole app and edited the interface completely. After that, this app has been nothing but problems. Everything glitches, adding notes to the calendar is not intuitive at all. Even just clicking on the dates on the calendar is difficult and doesn’t always work. I used to be able to open this app, quickly jot down my info and close it. Now it’s an ordeal with having to quit out of it every second, the calendar glitching, buttons not working. I wish they would bring back the old app and interface. It’s one of those “why fix it if it’s not broken?” Moments. Everything used to work and now the app is just incredibly complicated to navigate, stuffed with extraneous needless features, and glitchy.

Praise and Feedback. I’ve been using Spot On for around half a year now and my experience with it has been overwhelmingly positive. The interface is simple, intuitive and easy to navigate. I appreciate the inclusive and discreet language that is used throughout the app, all my gender non-conforming or masculine people who have periods, this app is for you. Also, the new period tracking feature is reliable and works exceptionally. However, I do have one piece of advice to give—I have switched devices a few times in the past year and realized that you cannot log into an existing account on this app. There is a lot of data that could’ve been used to fine tune my period predictions that were lost because of this and I hope that something can change. Hope the developers can see this message! Cheers!

Decent, but not up to expectations. I have been using this app for a year. I was off birth control for a few months so I deleted the app. Then I got it back and updated my information. I take the pill form of birth control and it’s a 4 week pack. However, the app tells me my period starts 21 days after taking the first pill of the pack. It’s been wrong by a few days every single time. It makes it difficult to really prepare for my period or for my data to be accurate. Also, the app shows the first day of my period only if I enter in the flow type. I think if the app is going to predict the first day of the period and when the next one starts, it should be able to update that information if it’s wrong. Just because my pack ends and I start a new one, does not necessarily mean I will start my period. The app is good for a general birth control reminder to take your medication. The app is not good for everything else.

Buggy new version. I really liked the older version of the app, it was simple and got to the point. I expected my data to not necessarily transfer when I got the big update and didn’t make an account, but I didnt expect the new experience to be this bad. Half the app is just unusable without an account, even if you click “Continue without an account”. The login page is buggy and shows overlapping text, and you can’t even do anything on the app (I tried to click “Period started” and I was taken to a second page with sections like “Period”, “Activity”, etc. but there was nothing I could click within them, so nothing saved). Trying to log my current period by editing my period history didn’t work, and there’s just missing information fields all throughout the app. I really liked this app because of the simplicity but it’s getting annoying not being able to do ANYTHING despite all of the screens still showing in the app, and I’m back to using my iOS calendar for tracking my period history.

Miss the old version. I’ve been using Spot On for several years now, but I don’t think I’ll be able to continue using it with the new update. It’s slow to load, frustrating to input my symptoms, and no longer seems to be able to display symptoms on the calendar. One of the best things about the old version was the ability to look at symptoms over time using the calendar—I even used it to track my mental health in addition to physical symptoms. Now, I can’t even see the full list of symptoms I logged for a past date without clicking through to edit that day, which takes too long to load and leaves me frustrated. The increased flexibility of creating your own symptoms was a nice addition to the app, but I’m afraid the bloated loading times and confusing UI has made the new app unusable for me. I wish they would upload a past version as a separate app so the people who preferred it could go back to using that; it was far better suited to my needs.

Very Disappointed in the Update. I had been using this app for a couple of years. I had no issues with the format and I liked that I could easily view my history and anticipate my cycle. But the update has completely changed the interface. I tried to adapt to the changes, but it’s clear that it will never be the same. I can’t easily view my cycle anymore. Initially, there was even some missing data. It was also impossible to find out how to “log in” to my account. Most recently, when I checked the app again because of a period reminder, it appeared that all my data disappeared. All of my history, gone, as if I’ve never used it. I thought it was a loading error, so I exited the app, but now it won’t even open. It just shows the loading screen, and then nothing happens. I thought about deleting the app and then redownloading it, but I don’t want to risk losing even more of my history, in case it’s all still there. All in all, I’m really disappointed.

Excellent for any gender!. I need to track my unpredictable cycle bx of PCOS, and as a transgender man this is difficult bx every app, calendar, or website uses gendered language assuming that if you have a period, you’re a woman. V upsetting, if you’re another gender than woman. ENTER PLANNED PARENTHOOD, with this gr9 app that knows lots of genders have a period! I love the easy, pretty UI and hilarious repurposing of emojis, as well as the pun w the brachiosaurus on a biCYCLE (and how he is bicycling upside-down when one’s cycle is unpredictable! That makes me laugh, and not get so down on myself abt my cycle “not working properly” as the lil mean voice in my head likes to tell me). If I could improve anything it might be the ability to remove default spots from the list of mood/body/action/period, just bx there are ones I will never use.

New look came with lots of bugs!. I loved this app three years ago when I downloaded it. It was super helpful and simple to use. I loved that you could see how heavy your cycle was each day in the weekly graph-like view and I also loved that you could use the calendar to track statuses (in my case how often I drank water or went to the gym) along side your BC usage. Ever since the update to the new look, I have had multiple weeks where I’ve missed pills because the app no longer has an emoji to check off that I actually took the pill. It also isn’t consistent with the reminders it sends me. Both times I’ve missed the pill, I’ve only noticed days later when I look at my pack and see I got a day behind somewhere. And all those features that I loved about the original version are gone. Now it’s just a calendar with an x on each day. You can’t just look at it and see your cycle. Also it loves to tell me my birth control is no longer working randomly on my off weeks.

Long-time user, hate the update. EDIT 3: Still no change. I sent an email to the developer address, and received no response apart from a form email 3 days ago. I am now officially going to download a new tracking app, since I still can’t get past the login screen. EDIT 2: Two and a half weeks later, absolutely no change. I received a developer response recommending that I let it hang on that screen with the app in the foreground and no other apps in use for “several minutes” to let it finish migrating data; I have tried this several times with no change. I am now at the point where I am going to have to start looking for new apps to use if this isn’t solved. EDIT: it has been almost a week, and I am still unable to get past the loading screen and into the app. This is incredibly disappointing. I’m hoping to be able to update this review soon, as I’ve used this app for several years and always found it useful. The recent update really took a number of steps backwards in terms of UI/UX, even for someone who uses it as simply as I do (record cycle info and that’s it). It’s much harder to find relevant information about my past cycles, and the period logging screen has become overly complicated which makes the app much more frustrating to use. This morning I attempted to get in, and the app has simply been sitting on loading screen. Quitting and restarting has done nothing. Help?

Went down hill. I used to LOVE this app before the most recent update. My favorite part was that it let me physically press a button to signify that I had taken my pill for the day, which for me is helpful for memory/reassurance that it was actually taken. Now, it’s the opposite. You can mark off if you missed a pill, but it just seems to assume you took it, which is dangerous if you’re forgetful. After the update, my data was screwed up (been using this app for over a year, and I use 3 month pill packs). Even though I was more than halfway through my pack and had been logging it all along, when I opened it up for the first time after the update, it reflected me starting on like day 2 of a new pill pack...not accurate. So I had to go in and manually fix. And the WORST thing is that it’s constantly crashing now. I have to try at least 6 times to get the app to load every single time, because it keeps giving error messages. It was never a problem before. This app isn’t really helpful anymore...can you change it back to how it was?

update broke a great app. i have used this app for years and always loved it. simple, intuitive, easy to use. then it got completely rehauled for reasons completely surpassing my understanding. now it is much more confusing and vital features like custom tracking options are still not available months later. worse, i often cannot even open the app. the loading animation just plays and plays forever, leaving me unable to access my data, and the only way i have found to fix this problem is to delete and uninstall the app. the last time i did this, it asked me to make a new account (i already have one) or use the app without one, but did not give me a button to log in. this is unacceptable. i have PMDD and need easy access to my cycle data so i know when to take medication to control my symptoms. i don’t understand why they rolled out such a clearly unfinished/broken update for something so many people are relying on. i’m very disappointed and will be seeking a new tracker app.

Recent updates destroyed an awesome app. I’ve used this app for YEARS, and when my daughter started her period 2 years ago she started using it afterward. It was a wonderful app, FIVE STARS! On the old app, I could keep track of my period and it’s timing, but also details of my period, my body, and my mood. It was so easy to use, I only had to set up my daughter’s account and she was able to track on her own. BUT... Recent updates have completely destroyed the app, and I haven’t been able to use it in months. A few months ago, I realized that the app hadn’t reminded me that I was late; when I opened the app, my years and years of period info had disappeared! When I tried to navigate the app, I could not figure out how to add past info, only that day. I was hoping an update would fix it, but no such luck. I updated last night and now the app will not open at all; the dot on the screen pulses but the app never opens. Planned Parenthood, I love you and all the good work you do, but your app is now garbage. And mores the pity, it used to be wonderful. Please fix!

Well-designed, but misses the point. I downloaded this app hoping it would take the place of another period tracker I've had for a while that's a little cumbersome. I was impressed with the simplicity and ease of use of this app...but it won't track my period. I don't really have an unpredictable cycle; every other app I've ever used has been within a few days of predicting my start date. I input periods all the way back through July hoping that it would figure out my cycle from that, but because my period in October was late due to stress, my cycle is too unpredictable for the app. This wouldn't be a problem if the app still even tried to guess, but it doesn't. So I'm logging my periods on two apps; one that's better at logging symptoms (this) and another that will actually tell me when I'm ovulating or about to start. I'll probably have to give this one up soon, but I hope future updates will address the issue.

Hate The Redesign. I’ve been using spot on for 2 years now ever since I started my birth control shot and I loved the app because it was an easy way for me to track when I needed to get my next shot along with other daily symptoms. It was one of the easiest to navigate apps and it was always clear when I needed to get my next shot. I also liked how you could customize what data you wanted to put in unlike some other period tracker apps. Now the app is hard to navigate and looks confusing just like so many other period tracker apps that I tried and stopped using because they were just hard to use. The app is also now telling me I need to get my next shot even though I just got it and put it in my calendar yet it’s still telling my I’m “unprotected and need my next shot”. I hate this design and will stop using the app and I guess I’ll have to start the search for another period tracker app like I’ve done so many times before. The app was amazing but now... it’s awful.

No way to “Sign In” to existing account - Lost information. I’ve been using this app to track my cycle for a while and I’ve liked it enough for the most part. However, recently the app would absolutely not load whenever I tried to open it. I finally gave in and deleted the app so I could see if re-downloading it again would solve the issue. I wasn’t too worried about losing my data because I have created an account. I re-downloaded and it worked! The app finally loaded! Now, there is no where accessible in the app to log in to my existing account! There are only “sign up” buttons. So I tried it to see if it would redirect me to a sign in page. It didn’t. Just said my email was already being used for another account and to try a different email. This is such BS. My most recent periods are not saved so it isn’t showing a projection date for the next one. If the company could add a “sign in” button that would be great. I am shocked that there isn’t an easily accessible way to do it in the first place!! I will probably be looking into other, more reliable apps.

Bug. I love the app. I have nothing bad to say except that I don't seem to be getting my pill reminders. I used to, and I don't anymore. I've checked my iPhone setting notifications to make sure they're on for the app, and made sure the reminder is set and on in the actual app. Still no luck. ☹️ 9/3/18 update: shortly after my original review was posted, the notifications issue was resolved. Now my only concern is that almost every day, the app tells me that there was an error backing up my information, yet when I go into the settings on the app, it says that the last backup was just before I went to settings, as if it had just backed up successfully. Hopefully I'm making sense. It seems to be working just fine, yet telling me that it's having errors. Otherwise everything is peachy!

Go-to App, no frills no fluff. For years and years and years I was on hormonal birth control and never had to manage or track my period as I always anticipated it at the end of each pack. Now that I’m off of hormonal birth control, it’s awesome having this straight-to-the-point app to remind me when to expect it. Once my cycle regulated and was consistent for a handful of months, the info feedback for predication for the app is always correct. So definitely stick with it, give the app time to collect data. A side benefit has also been tracking my side effects, I have hormonal cystic acne so I like that I can note when my acne was bad/what other symptoms were present to kinda help manage my acne. Other then my social media apps & apple essentials, this is by far my most used app. Thanks PP! 💖

Great App - Could Use a Few Improvements. I have been using Spot On to track my period for a couple years now and so far it’s the only one I’ve ever been consistent with. I appreciate all of the things you can track and a lot of the cool graphics. There are a few things I would love to see fixed. I recently upgraded from the iPhone 6s to the XR and was disappointed to see the little circle logs are now cut off by the navigation, meaning I can’t see the little emojis to see what I have logged. I would love it if they would fix this. My other recommendation would be to add some additional reporting or symptom predictions - some other apps have this available and I think it could be useful to know if I should expect a certain symptom based on the frequency it occurs at that point in my cycle.

Used to be great. I used to love this. I am blind and use Voice Over, and this was one of the only cycle tracking apps I found that was accessible. But no longer. I forgot to back up my data which was my fault, but I had much difficulty editing my information. It seemed to change the pill I was on without me doing so, and I could not get it save the info properly. Also, I ended up creating an account with 3.0 but the newest update does not have me logged in nor show me a place where I can log in. Also, when I try to open the app, it will just sit there loading. The only way I can get in is by tapping on the notification, but then, I cannot log in so my info is not there. And it will not save any of the changes I make regarding my pill, notification times, etc. I liked 2.9, but now, with the changes, it does not work for me, and I'm not sure how much is the app not working with Voice Over or just the app not working. I wish I could go back to 2.9. Used to love it
