Not accurate. Bought this app thinking it would be nice to not have to carry a commercial light meter with me on project sites. However, when I put it side by side with a commercial light meter (LX 1330B) the readings were not even close to each other. The app readings were less than half those reported by a professional meter and were less responsive to changes in levels when in continuous read mode. I will be deleting the app.

Horribly Inaccurate. Compared with a Fluke photometric meter and this app was only showing 50% of that. Do not rely on this app for lighting calcs. Pretty much only good to tell you if it is light or dark.

Make sure you use the best camera on your phone.. My I phone has a front and back side camera. I have a screen protector on the face that affects the readings. I make sure I use the back side camera for most accurate results with this app. Can’t speak to accuracy compared to a standard. This app works great for my needs.

Personal Injury metet. As an investigator of tripping injury accidents, the ability to get a light intensity reading with my phone cuts down on a lot of equipment to lug onto a job site. Love this app.

Not Accurate. Don't waste your time and money! I conducted a side by side comparison and the reason from the app was very inaccurate.

Not even close!. Tried it with Iphone 11 and compared to a professional lux meter. The readings are off by an order of magnitude (about 8 times)! It is unclear how the developer could have “calibrated” the app when it is so grossly inaccurate. Deleting it...

Inaccurate readings. This app does not work. Measured foot candles via the app which reflected a level of 28-30. Compared to an actual device to measure light levels which reflected 70-80. Waste of $2.

Really like it. It is an interesting and useful app that can measure the light. In some situations, we need to know about the light intensity, but with no professional devices. with the app, we can finish it using mobile phone

Plain does not work. I would award no stars if possible. The lighting bolt reacts to having been touched, but nothing happens. There seems to be no settings menu or anything to help fix it.

Useless. I bought it because I'm looking for an convenient app so I don't have to bring a separate light meter. Side by side, on exact location and conditions, I get 36 on a professional light meter and 26 on this. 5 - 10% error would be OK, but this is a joke.

Helpful app. Gives consistent readings. I use it to compare lighting in different rooms and comparing different fixtures.

Waste of 2.00 dollars. App records my bedroom light as having the same light level as moonlight. Highly erratic readings as well, do not purchase.

Completely inaccurate. It will show relative differences in lighting but the values given are totally inaccurate when used side by side with real light metering equipment.

Very inaccurate and inconsistent, waste of money. The reading from front and back camera are very different. The result is very inconsistent during multiple trials. Range from 100 to 30 if pointing directly to the lamp. 0 if not directly point to the lamp. Do not recommend to buy, a waste of money.

Senseless. No instructions, inconsistent outcomes. Trying to assess home lighting status and needs, doesn't make sense. Paid 1.99 for app with no instructions on how to use. Point it at light fixture? Wall? Floor? Size of room parameters? Perhaps this is just not what I was looking for.

Great for me. I just use a light meter for plants, and for that it's excellent. It need not be perfectly accurate for me, and it's great for comparing the available light under lights and in windows as the days get shorter and the sun gets weaker.

Light meter very good. I spent over 60 years in electro optical engineering, and this is by far the best two dollars I ever spent. I agree the color temperature would be a big plus, and to be able to see the image would be very helpful to get things pointed the right way.

Way Off. The app claims it was calibrated with an actual light meter, but the foot candle readings I get are 1/3 the readings on an actual light meter that I have at work. It's basically useless, although now that I know its 1/3 the actual level I can just multiply the app ready by 3 and still be wrong, but closer.

Okay app. I went to a site visit today and had my light meter and this app. I compared both and they were both pretty close! The only issue I had was when I got to a room that measured over 100 FC the app gave me very low levels. Maybe is not capable is measuring such high levels. The other thing I'm confused about is why the difference between outdoor and indoor. This is not a normal function of a light meter.

Could be user error but. It’s totally possible that I’m using it wrong, but since there’s no instructions, I don’t know how else to do it. It seems pretty arbitrary, like I’ll hold it up to one spot and it will give me a light range from like 18 fcs to 2,000 fcs so idk.

Suitable for me. I am satisfied with this app. It is easy to use and brings me a different experience compared to similar apps which I used before. It helps me a lot in measuring light intensity. It is really a great tool to me.

No customer service. Indoors vs outdoors odd. No color temperature.. Do not expect customer service to ever answer any questions or emails. Light levels are absolute levels of brightness. Therefore, it's very odd that there is an indoor/outdoor button to set. The two settings get very different readings. Why? It should not matter whether the reading is indoors or outdoors. The number is simply a function of how bright it is. Other apps on the App Store will also tell you what the color temperature of the light is. That can be very useful in knowing whether it's bluish or yellow-ish. This app does not give you that.

Simple and effective.. All I wanted was a simple light meter that could read the incident light in lux and footcandles. I wasn't looking for a throwback to the era of chemical film. If it also gave color temperature I would have given it five stars.

Check front/rear camera Lux. In a non scientific comparison of Lux between the front and rear cameras of my iPhone 6s there appears to be a difference of about 70-100 lux between the two. Please check.

This app is for photographers. This app is great but is very reliant on the camera of the device you are using. For example, if your iphone camera is broken, then this app will have some errors due to the cracks.

Waste of Money. Struggled to get measurements that mattered. Difficult to reset. I tapped, pushed, and held down. Very disappointed.

May have potential but some issues. I purchased this app to compare illumination levels in my home. Since I wanted to compare lighting levels in different areas rather than know the specific lux/foot candle illumination values I can't attest to it's accuracy. While the app is simple to use I will note that on an IPad 3 (IOS 9) using the back camera resulted in readings approximately 3 times higher than those registered using the front facing camera. Given the larger lens opening I can understand why but which value is correct? Also, the app got set to "outdoor" at one point and the only way I could get back to the "indoor" setting was to delete it and reinstall. It would be helpful to have a better way to clear values once a reading has been taken as the current method doesn't seem to work all that well.

Terrible!. How can I get my money back?! Cannot clear avg nor max. Won't switch front to back nor indoor to outdoor. Have tried it on my iPhone 4s and my iPad Mini 4. Tried reinstall of the app and even rebooting both. Crap app!
