Do not download. If I could give this app 0 stars I would. Before it the app even lets you see what the video looks like, you have to “start a 3-day trial”, but what it doesn’t tell you is you will automatically be charged once you accept the 3-day trial. The point in a trial is to try something before you decide whether or not you want to buy an item. I wanted to try the app before I purchased something so basic for $30. Instead, I am charged right away. I’m so furious I deleted the app before even trying it because the function looks as basic as basic gets. You can find multiple apps a lot better than this one that WONT charge you $30... Very disappointed and would like a refund, but the company is not reachable which is another 👎🏽

Stealing money “free trial”. If anyone’s reading this review, please check your subscriptions in the App Store. This app blatantly has an ad when you first open Dazz, and it says FREE TRIAL. That’s a complete lie. I got a refund through Apple because they charged me same day and never set up a free trial. Dazz set me up for a $30 yearly subscription instead. LAME. This app blows anyway, I was here for the “free” trial and my expectations were already pretty low.

Doesn’t even work??. I downloaded the app after seeing it on Tik Tok and now a Snapchat ad. So, I finally got it this morning thinking that when I put on my makeup and stuff later, I could take some cool pictures using the 3D effect. I can’t even find it. It may be the “Dazz” feature (which isn’t supported on my device?) I have the iPhone XR and it’s up to date so I don’t see why it won’t work. Waste of time.

Let’s talk.... I noticed you guys limited the zoom which was a feature I loved because was very “vhs like “... don’t get too polished with it either! I noticed the minor changes you guys made! Lol..oh and the audio bounce back is the only thing really wrong sometimes . Love the app it’s one of my mains

If I could give it 0 stars I would!. Before being able to use the app you have a chance to get a 3 day day “free” trial. I wanted to try it before spent $30 on an app. I tried it out once but deleted it because it was very basic and there were many apps better than this one. But what I didn’t know was that I was charged immediately and there is no way to get a refund. I’ve tried to contact the company and go to Apple to get help but once they charge you, that’s it. I HATE IT , $30 WASTED

great idea, TERRIBLE audio. this idea is so cool, i just had to buy the app to try it out. the quality is that what you imagine of an old camcorder. great for pictures, but if you intend on using this for videoing purposes i suggest you look elsewhere. even in silence a continuous, high-pitched squeal occurs when you begin the video and only gets louder as you continue. hopefully this problem will be fixed in an update

That's so cool. I like this app because it's very handy. I made some short videos that looked just like videos from 90's. I liked the option of adding some written text - by this way I can personilize the shots and send them as a small gift.

Cool app. I like making things in retro style so this app is definitely for me! Now I can make my pics in romantic style of 80-s. And after the update I can convert my older video. That's great! It appeared to be very funny to make videos like in VHS format. I feel nostalgic and for me that videos became more interesting and beautiful.

How you enter the app. Ok I downloaded because people said it’s a great app and then I get it I really don’t want to buy the trial do I have to buy the trial to use it or it’s is a glitch?

Mad.. I am so mad. I thought this would have a 3 free day trial so when I clicked ok to use it the app immediately charged me. I'm very upset with this because I never got a chance to decide if I want the app or not. As of right now I see no way of getting a refund and I'm not happy. This is $30 that I didn't even get to decide if I wanted to pay. All I want is my money back.

Must have. I've already made a lot of funny videos with this app:) and I definitely recommend it for all, who want to be in 90's trend:) this VHS camera is really good.

Really amazing app. The best app here! After using it all my videos look like I've found them in a family archieve. Then they get dozens of likes on social nets, because they look really cool with all these filters, effects and texts. Awesome

Do not get this app!. When you first open the app it says free trail but when you go to the next page it charges you $30 right away. I’m so frustrated already with this app and I don’t even want to use it, if you put free trail then let it be a free trail without charging you right away!! You also can’t find a way to contact them or END THE SUBSCRIPTION. This app is a rip off and you can find other apps that are FREE🙃 let’s hope I get that refund.

Disappointed by greedy developers. I downloaded this app a LONG time ago and then, I bought an in app purchase, removed watermarks and got the extra skins. Now the developers have started a subscription model that places a watermark on my videos because I don’t have the subscription. I have tried clicking “restore purchases” to no avail. How is it right ethically or otherwise to do this to your customer base? It is a rip off. I want my original investment refunded. I will be contacting you.

The app won’t load your videos, charges you prematurely. You think you sign up for a 3 day trial but it actually charges you right away. Then you won’t be able to import your photos or videos unless you photos are portrait mode. Even still, it crashes once you upload. Buyer beware

love it. This app is amazing simply because it allows me to experience the atmosphere of old times. Videos are obtained in a particularly attractive way with all these features. I recommend.

If you can get it to work. I must have purchased this app sometime back just for the gimmick of it.I use purchase loosely, but not because I stole it but rather because it will not acknowledge I have purchased it at all & doses me with ads & denied access to features. I also cannot figure out why when you try to record with it I’m am greeted aurally with a high pitched noise effect that builds to almost ear splitting cacophony of delay? I’ll leave my review at 1 until it gets sorted but I have owned for almost a long while now.

Cool concept, audio noise is terrible. I love the idea, with the 80/90 style video. I purchased the app to avoid adds and have access to all the features. I especially love that you can set the date. The audio feedback noise - yes, even when I have ‘audio noise’ turned off - is so terrible the video is unusable. The feedback just becomes a high pitched, screechy noise. Only worth it to upload existing video, or shoot video that you will eventually edit the sound out of.

Great app. I think it’s a great app! Reminds me of the early 2000’s when my dad used to videotape our adventures. I bought the full version to use my own clips but it seems that I can’t really use any clip that is around 23 seconds or longer and I don’t know if thats how the app is supposed to be but I hope that can get fixed 😢 it keeps crashing out on me when It’s loading. Other than that i recently discovered this app and i love it! :D

Great. I have been using this app for a long time because I really like to make such kind of videos. Highly recommend if you miss the 80s.

Weird sound? And awful borders. Let me start off by saying this app is amazing. It does everything you’d expect it to do but for some reason when recording video there is a strange sound that can’t be turned off which gets louder and louder. Secondly when recording videos there is a strange white border that ends up on the black bars on each side. If these two problems were fixed it’d easily be a 5 star app.

Very good, but needs some improvements.. First of all, let’s do a sound check. The old vhs sound noise feedbacks into the microphone and makes the audio unbearable without completely turning down the audio. But that could be improved. VHS Background noise - 2/5 Second of all, let’s check the sound filter. The graininess of the sound is kinda not so grainy, I just wanna be able to change the graininess of the microphone and stuff like that, it would be amazing to have that in the control panel. Microphone noise - 3.5/5 So overall the sound is ok but still needs improvements. Overall sound - 2.75/5 Now, the next, graphics. The graphics are amazing and I have little to say about it, except for the VHS noise, it needs to be a little bit more random with the intervals between each noise line on the tape. VHS tape noise - 4/5 Everything else is amazing and I think it is very good. Everything else - 5/5 So overall the graphics are the finest bit in here so far! with the realism intact! Graphics overall - 4.5/5 And last but not least — the UI. It is very accessible and very easy to use, Nothing is too bad not too good! It is very comfortable to use. UI - 5/5 So now for the overall score of the app. It is a very good app and the features and aesthetics are spot-on! I hardly have anything bad to say! Overall score - 4/5!

Good but. When I got the update that included the wave fx the tv mode does not work. And I cant zoom as far as i used to. It also takes a while to save. Please fix thanks bye!

Turn back time, turn back 80’s. With this video recorder it’s like it was in 80’s. All that grainy videos, and stuff. Now I want to buy an old school skateboard and a boom box and go crazy all day long, making videos. Nostalgic feeling.

Ehhh. This app is alright it needs to be better though. They have all the customization as far as editing how you want your videos and photos to look. But they should let us have a timer for photos, import photos and videos. And let us remove borders.

Fun. The app is very simple to use. I like it because the filter is amazing and it's honestly such a unique app and it makes videos better. Works without bugs.

Great app. Boy this app is something. It had everything I was looking for and you can even import videos, the option the change the grain on the video would be nice but all in all it's a phenomenal app

Nice. This app is wonderful for me, because I love old-looking photos and videos. The videos with the effects look like they were recorded in the 80 and 90. App is very easy to use and has a user-friendly interface.

Subscription model shake down. Adding a subscription business model to remove the watermark is just greedy. The app used to work just fine, now they want more money to sell you what you already had over and over again. Shameful. Do not support subscription based apps that are not actually adding new content during each subscription period.

Like it. It's great app! Lots of features and awesome filters. Retro VHS always makes my photos fantastic and unique. What is more important, finally, there are no bugs on iOS 8 in new version

Fixing. Overall I love the concept of the app. But when I go to save the video it says “mixing audio and saving. Do not close” I literally waited 10 minutes and it just does not ever finish saving. It just stays saying that until I close out the app and this kind of upsets me because I actually have the paid version.

Changes for what?. I bought this app and have used it so much for longer than i can remember and then all of a sudden i get this message a new “Dazz” mode has been added. Now it’s saying there’s a trial for 9.99$ a month to remove the watermark which I’ve ALREADY PAID FOR PRO MODE to REMOVE IT and my phone isn’t even supported for this new mode. I will be deleting this app after this review.

Not worth it?. This app is really cool and has all the best features. I bought pro so I can upload my own videos and get the effect I want on them but it keeps crashing. Other than that it’s a decent app and if you’re looking for an app to record on to get that old retro look this is it. But for uploading your own videos, not worth it. Please fix this!!

Keeps glitching off. This app is really great and everything apart from the fact that every time i try to import a video 10 seconds long or 15 seconds long specifically the app closes and repeats the same thing over and over so i can't really edit it. Please fix this? I also paid for importing videos so that gets me upset.

Oldschool video - how cool is that!. I am totally in love with this app, retro video! Especially the date and time mark on the left bottom, it reminds me of my childhood's videos. Don't wait for a high-quality video with high sharpness, but the video really gives you the atmosphere of old times!

Everything you want is behind a paid wall. Saw that this app allows importing your own files and what a shocker, the import feature is a paid wall. Had this stupid garbage taking up hard drive space for nearly 5 minutes. Unlock your content and have people pay to remove ads, you know, like every other developer that has some common sense in marketing.

Good. It's a good app for those who likes making photos or videos. It has a lot of different filters, that are really cool, make my pics and videos look really retro. My friends says my photos looks very artistic!

Horrible. I downloaded the app yesterday and it said that you could test the app out with a 3 day free trial and I didn’t really like the app so I was just going to cancel it before the 3 days was up and then I wake up this morning to find that my card was charged $32 for a yearly subscription which I did not choose so not I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to have that removed because I deleted the app and cancelled the subscription because I didn’t like the app.

Add “Remove Date” Option. Hi, I was wondering if you can add this option where you would have a choice of using the custom date, or not, so some people can do some fake training videos or something like that. Camera I'd great but the video.... If your looking to have a vintagey type picture, this app is great. BUT the video is the issue. The video settings it has is great but there is this screehy noise to it when you record, and I really hope they fix that. Because I would love to use the video option on this app

BEST!!!!. This is the one of the most creative and weird video editors in appstore. Making your own 90-s inspired little movies have never been so easy. And if you want to edit full film on the computer you are welcome. Just shoot all parts, collect them and make a movie in a special program. Fantastic opportunity for arthouse lovers. AWESOME!

So thinking since I’m stuck with this app now I might as well try it out. Every single time I try and edit or upload anything to edit the app crashes. The description is the only good thing. Purchased the full version of this app and it DOES NOT work. Doesn't save videos to camera roll, and the very few it does save don't have sound..?! The app also crashes regularly. Reconsider purchasing this. Plenty of other FREE VHS style apps out there.

Does not work, tried it plenty of times.. Tried it many times over years. Nope. Horrible. Obviously the developers have no interest in this relic of a product. If by “Retro VHS” they man a broken camcorder that’s been dropped in a swimming pool by an 80’s pervy uncle filming his underage neice’s friends, then yep, that’s what this piece of crapcorder is.

Scam. Do not download this app! Upon downloading the app immediately prompts you to start a “free” trial, once accepting this trial, $50 AUD is debited from your account and you are signed up to an annual subscription. There is no free trial. I am currently requesting a refund through apple. The app itself is terrible, I believe there is another Dazz cam app that is quite good and this app is a scam.

Sound loop issue in v2.0. Everything else is great for new edition, however I miss the old effect as well / you cannot take off the date / there is also an apparent sound loop issue when you record live and it just feedback loops.

app won't open. I just downloaded this app and it looks great except for the fact that I can't open it for more than 3 seconds without it force closing. :( Please fix this!! I'm using iOS 8

Unable to open...?. This app has the potential to be great, but it's impossible to even start using it since the app won't stay open for more than 1 second before it crashes. This is obviously a major flaw and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Horrible App. This app doesn’t give you any control over very much. Even after paying for it you cannot turn off the date feature, imported audio is so badly distorted, there’s no support for different video resolutions, and some menu options stay on screen and will not close at all, without having to exit the app and then re-open it. Don’t waste your money.

Please update the free trial instructions. Upon opening the app for the first time it says start "3 day free trial!" so I did, but it charged my credit card RIGHT AWAY for the 1 year subscription of 39.99 + tax? There's nothing on the app that lets you cancel it, i went to the app store and cancelled the subscription, only to have it say "u can still use the app until the next subscription renewal" which is a year from now. I paid for the 3 day free trial and I have screenshots of the instructions being unclear 😭 Hoping it's just the way they do it and hoping they refund what they charged me after 3 days because I cancelled the subscription literally on the first day. This is just inconvenient in my opinion; why charge my card for the three day free trial and not AFTER it ends? UPDATE FEB 5: I checked my email and on FEB 2, 1 day AFTER I was charged for the 3 day trial, apple emailed me a receipt saying "you will be charged 39.99 unless subscription cancelled before Feb 1" ???? ITS A THREE DAY FREE TRIAL AND EVEN APPLE IS SAYING I WOULD BE CHARGED THE SAME DAY (even though i got the email THE DAY AFTER, feb2) IF I DONT CANCEL THE SAME DAY (Feb 1). Good, but.... The application is good, but it need some fixes. For example, when I try to import a video and send it in a messenger message, the video doesn't want to send itself. In addition, we should be able to import pictures as well.

Charged me when I already canceled. I am so disappointed in this app. First it doesn’t work on iPhone 6s but it says it works on this phone before I installed it. Second, it says 3 days free. But I canceled the subscription 20 mins after knowing that it doesn’t work on my phone but I got charged more than $45, less than 24 hours after I cancelled. Mind you, I canceled 20 mins after I installed the app. Third, already sent a dispute but no one emailed me yet about the dispute! SO DISAPPOINTING!

What the heck happened to this app?. This app used to be so good. I just fired it up after not using it for a while and it’s a TOTAL MESS! The zooming doesn’t work at all (well it does but it’s not smooth, you can’t hold to zoom, you have to tap multiple times and it jumps in without being smooth) you guys should have left this app the way it was it’s so messy and random looking. I paid for this back in 2015 and it was worth it but now I’d stay away. Please fix this!

Audio loop is annoying. Can't make any videos with this app due to it automatically playing the audio causing a never ending ear piercing audio loop.

not worth it. When I try to record with this, when I press record it plays back a very loud static noise that continually gets louder and more distorted. how do I turn this off? Also, when I modify videos with it it makes the audio extremely loud.

Stole $30 from me. I got this app for that dumb trend and I decided to sign up for a free subscription to test it out and it charges my bank account I have canceled the subscription but I have no idea how to get my money back or if I even can I haven’t even used the app cause I can’t figure out how to work it.

Scam. The App Store should remove this listing immediately. The “free trial” is an absolute lie. You get charged for a year right away and aren’t even given any other pricing options. This is not ‘in app purchases’ in my opinion if you are tricked into spending $30 before you can even use the app.

Worthy app. This app is really excellent. There is a high-quality, and everything is like in 80s. As for me, there is one drawback: little amount of tools for videos. It would like to be more.

VHS RetroVHS. I love it but it needs the sound to last longer on the video and the screen is always going dark every 6 seconds other then that is really nice

I’ve seen several reviews saying the same thing. Don’t fall for it! The app also is low quality trash AND doesn’t do 3D photos.

Good app but needs better importing. It’s great and I have the full version but it takes a while for imported videos to render and they don’t always get saved

Good but has bugs. Camera is one of the best for a VHS effect but forces quits when you import a video. Also a loud screeching noise is made when I record with this app.

I'm fond of this app.. I make videos everywhere and they look not ordinary and I like it the most.

Doesn’t even work.. Really I have to PAY to actually do anything other than take photos? I can’t even edit the photos I took on the app to look how I want. It may look cool but there are better apps that actually work and don’t screw up your camera.

Interesting app. It's very interesting app. I like the filters and I can create the videos with this cool app. It's great idea with the 80's filter for video.

Great but.... I'm trying to find an app to make some edits with and i stumbled upon this app. It's a great app but I just wish you can save the video to your camera roll! PLEASE UPDATE THIS SO I CAN PUT MY EDITS IN MY CAMERA ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!

Dazz can not supported on Iphone 7. I found this app from TikTok and wanted to try it I was super exited to use it until it said I cant use the dazz can because “it’s not supported on my phone” and i’m sad

Cool. I love oldschool photos, they are so warm. This application is awesome because there are a lot of opportunities such as video filters, camcorder flashlight and so on.

Very nice (but pls listen to this). I love this app but every time o record a video you can hear this annoying high pitch screech and I don't know what it is even though i tried looking it up. If you can, pls fix this.

Amazing. I totally recommend this it works great and gives me nostalgic feels, It sounds kinda creepy when you record but it's dope!

Noise & Download. You can only record the video and it makes this horrible noise that doesn't turn off. Then, once it's recorded you can't even download it. It only allows you to share through social media or email. Maybe I'm not doing it correctly, but there's no instructions.

App in purchase. I got this app then deleted it I had paid for it and stuff to remove the watermark i downloaded it again and it won’t let me restore the purchase wow

Best old school camcorder. I love the retro effect so this app has been for me a great tool for shooting beautiful video sets. The application works quickly, I have not encountered any problems. Great!

Used to be good. I remember using this app before the name change. Now its awful... its so expensive I cant believe it. Definitely not buying AGAIN. Yeah, thats right, I distinctly remember buying the other version with a ONE TIME PAYMENT. And now those things previously unlocked are barred from me.

It's great. Every time this app brings me my childhood memories. At 80's we were truly amazed by VHS cameras. And in 2016 we have it in our phones! Unbelievable

I don’t like how you have to pay money for this app tbh and it’s kinda way too expensive I was so hype to get it but when I saw the price I wasn’t happy no more instead I got depressed it’s a really cool app but I can experience it without trying it but I am not gonna pay money tbh for that much

Money back please. So I clicked on “start free trial” and obviously my phone tells me to put in my password to get the free trial and I still get charged the twenty something dollars. I want a refund, I deleted the app and also have cancelled my subscription. I clicked on “free trial” but still got charged for the whole year?

Not happy. I bought this app several years ago, ever since it became "Dazz Cam" I haven't been able to use the no watermark feature, and ive barely been able to use the app period, after three long years, I am finally deleting it.

I don’t understand this app. I purchased the option that would let me import a video, and once I had edited it to be the way I liked aesthetic wise I did not see an option to export it with the sound. The sound is off from the video itself which is confusing. This app is strange and although it was just 3$ I wish I hadn’t spent money on it.

Charged me for free trial. The app pops up with a start free trial button but when clicked on it asks for the yearly subscription fee of $30. I accepted because I did not know it would charge me until after the 3 day but it did. I did not intend to purchase anything. I want a refund
