Great app!. Updating my previous review... As the developer has pointed out, one can actually import their own sounds. You can find that info on the developers site under FAQ's. Original review: I believe this to be one of the best in the category. Thanks for making this app! There is some functionality that I would love to see added. Suggestions: Ability to load ones own sounds via AudioShare or Audio Copy. It’s great to be able to record one’s own sounds in the app, but the iPhone mic is fairly low quality. Ability to set individual sounds so they do not react to the “floating ball”. Add an additional “floating ball” that controls panning with the ability for each sound to be affected, or not. This would add some great mixing capabilities. Thanks!

Never slept better. I love this app! Like many of you out there I have a lot of anxiety and restlessness at bedtime. I have never been able to sleep in a silent room because honestly the quiet would amplify in my brain. So now, instead of trying to sync counting sheep with my breath, I know listen to a fireplace with an occasional page turn, or an ocean with seagulls, or even a raging storm.

Love the free portion of the app paid is a RIP OFF. I have been using this app for a couple years now and love it. The limited free items available are fantastic and I have been thinking of upgrading to the paid version which I thought was only $5.99 or near that range. I don’t remember this from before the recent update but now they charge $7.99 PER WEEK for the paid version. This in my opinion is an absolute rip off and a disappointment. Needless to say, at that greedy price I will never upgrade. Bad move, Tao Mix.

Relaxing experience. I have been interested in mindfulness for many years, but never could really concentrate or lower my stress levels. I know because I use a biofeedback sensor. Then I found this app. What I like the most is that it allows me customize my experience: which sounds, how loud, how fast, how long, etc. The sounds are very realistic too. I found that I am more relaxed after using it.

Latest update comes with a cost - literally. I’ve been using this app for well over a year now, and it’s served me well. There has always been a one-time purchase to buy certain sound packs, but now for some reason they’re adding a WEEKLY subscription that you must pay to even use the app. People who bought the additional soundpacks prior to this update are not being compensated, so if you ever spent on this app and you don’t pay the subscription, your money is down the drain. As far as I know, there aren’t any other added benefits to buying the subscription and there weren’t any other features or “optimizations” added. The latest update also seems to be very glitchy, removing settings and not allowing users to restore purchases. I guess I’ll have to switch to TaoMix 1

Fantastic! Could be even better though!. I love this app! I bought the entire package and glad I did cause it is very worth having all the sound banks. It's amazing for creating atmospheric ambient music to listen to while on an airplane or for sleeping or whatever. The interface is very good and easy to use. That said I have ideas about how it could be made much better which I would like to share with the developers. It as a couple of weaknesses that I would love to see fixed but the average user probably wouldn't notice them. I'm a musician so some limitations bother me, but it is still worth every penny and I use it all the time!!! If the developer wants to get in touch with me please do. I'll convey miy ideas.

Subscription prices!?!. The developer responds the same way to each reviewer who has a problem with the new subscription model... That the “subscription will allow further development of TaoMix”. Seriously... at $7.99 a month, which is the default subscription... this app better do a HELL of a lot more than it does now! I didn’t use the app too often. Usually while on travel at a noisy hotel but I’m seriously considering deleting the “limited” version if this is the type of app this has become.

Use This App Daily!. The developer of this app is genius! I thought it would be just like the other "make your own" sound apps- where you pick your sounds and then get bored quickly because there is no change in the sounds. Not with this app! You can pick your own sounds, or the app helps you out with pre picked sound mixes.. the variations are endless! After you've picked your mix, a little ball travels around the screen making the sound it is on a little louder, bouncing in different directions- at a speed you can adjust.. making for a constantly changing sound track!! Amazing and a pleasure to listen to! I'm going to go listen to my sitting by the fire, reading a book in a rocking chair, cat purring, with light rain on the windows mix. If you are looking for music to relax with, do paperwork with, meditate with, exercise with, study with, cook with, drive with, shower with, go to sleep with, do housework with, eat with.. this app is for you!

Should be #1 in the App Store!. This app is so wonderful. Customization is in your complete control, from mixing sounds from different packs, to the strength of each sound in your soundscapes. You can create different soundscapes for different uses (meditation, sleep, walks, etc.). I absolutely love the Japanese Garden for my meditations. And only $5 for all current and future sound packs is a darn good deal! Highly recommend for anyone that loves ambient sounds/music! Update 25Jan2021: Can’t restore purchases. Just co tongue to receive an error “Check your internet connection.” My connection is fine. Problem persists even after reinstalling. Please fix. Update 09Mar2021: I just received an email from the developer support, advising it should be resolved now. I re-installed the app and the restore worked successfully, and I am able to download all my packs again. Setting this back to Five Stars! Thank you!!!

Trouble sleeping no more. Does your spouse snore? Does that snoring keep you lying awake at night? Then you've got to down load this app! Listening to the variations of different calming sounds allows you to focus on nature instead of the unnatural sounds coming out of the one you love. No more listening to a constantly repeating droning that only works to keep you awake. The gently varying sounds help to calm your mind and place you in a state of peace. Sleep well!

Great sleep improvement!. I won't say that I sleep perfect now, but I sleep much better. The basic functions of the app are enough for me. Everything works, everything makes sense. Easy to use. 4 stars only because in two of the basic samples (rain and river) I noticed the loops. It takes a long time and close listening, though. When these become less noticeable, I will rate again... ;-)

I have thoroughly enjoyed this app so far.. I'm impressed at how customizable this app is. I haven't tried competing apps, so I can't honestly compare them to this one. That being said, I'm so pleased with the variety of features here that I don't feel a compelling need to experiment with any others. There are a good variety of sound packs. Some might regard it as a drawback that most of these will need to be paid for to use, but for me at least, this is a case where an in-app purchase is worthwhile, especially if you just buy them all at once (as of when I'm writing this, that's about $6, as opposed to $2 for individual ones). You can build and customize your own soundscapes, and it's fun to do. Sometimes I've used ones that essentially just follow the suggested combinations that are grouped together as sound packs (I've created a Japanese Garden soundscape that incorporates most of the sounds in the corresponding pack, and I've really liked it). On the other hand, you can easily mix and match sounds from different sound packs with good results. You can adjust the relative prominence of different sounds, and even the colors of the icons representing the sounds, among other customization options. All in all, a worthwhile download. I recommend buying all the sound options, but I think you can try out a free version first if you're not sure.

Honestly I wanted be owl holy noise :). ...but I suppose this is some evidence that I enjoy the app. On the occasion that I have a little trouble falling asleep, a custom mix of these sounds creates a little piece of home away from home (purring cat, fire gently crackling and a light rain.) Now you can get these sounds on a lot of apps, where this one is quite genius is that the way in which the sound is played is varied - it's much more the way you take in the world. You don't listen to one bluster of noise - firecrackle-rain-catpurr as some kind of consistent sound sandwich, your attention wanders between the drops of rain, the fire for a bit, then you notice the cat and then drift off again. Kudos to the designers and developers for tapping into that experience.

I don’t like.. This app was great before they changed to a subscription model. If you were lucky to have bought the $6 IAP before the change, the restore function doesn’t work, and the premium sounds aren’t available offline. I decided to delete this app, as it isn’t worth $7-$8 a WEEK. I will take my business elsewhere. There was/is a $6 non subscription IAP to get all sounds. However, there’s also an $8/week subscription with the newest update. Deleted some custom scenes, and had forced me to restore purchases. Had to check my Apple ID to see if I hadn’t inadvertently subbed to these people. Thankfully, I wasn’t. Recreated one scene, and now I’m wary of these developers. You should be to, cuz that’s $8 a WEEK. If you’re that desperate for money, make it $15/month or $80/year and grandfather in the people who bought the $6 IAP to unlock everything. Not that pay per week nonsense.

Awesome, but one suggestion. I really love the TaoMix apps. The original TaoMix was one of the very few apps I actually made an in-app purchase on so I could have all the sounds and then I did the same for TaoMix 2. However, I think they should consider implementing support for 3D stereo sound. It would take the app to another level if the audio was binaural when wearing headphones or streaming to a surround sound when you hear sounds come in from the left or right and move around. Maybe inside the app you could enter a mode where individual sounds can float around and then designate the left side of the screen as the left channel, right side as right channel, etc and the sound will shift from left ear to right ear as the sound approaches the right side of the screen. Or for 5.1 surround system support, you could also add bottom and top corner sound points to the screen to account for the front left/right/center and rear left/right found in most people’s surround sound systems. I searched the AppStore for something like this and I didn’t see anything for what I wanted, so I think this app could be the first to really embrace 3D audio for relaxing ambience sounds.

Loving It!. I’m loving this app, but I’d like to make a suggestion. It would be great if there was a way to make some of the sounds more like a “backdrop” that covered the entire screen. For example, ocean waves, wind or rain would not fade in and out as dramatically as they do now. I absolutely love the randomness of most of the sounds, but there needs to be the ability to make some sounds more steady. I’ve tried adding the same sound in several places to try and achieve this, but it doesn’t really work. I hope I’m explaining what I mean in a way that can be understood. All in all, though, this is the best sound machine app I’ve found for the iPhone.

My favorite sound app.. The only sound app that I use regularly. It is unique, one of a kind, not only has some great sounds but also has an impressive quality of sound. A lot of things to choose from. This app can be addicting because of how many options you can mix, the range of how you can mix them... Don't pass up giving this app a chance, the only regret that you might have is that you didn't try it sooner.

Absolute best sound app for sleep and relaxation. This app is fantastic. The positional audio concept means you'll never get distracted by the seams in the audio, and the sound feels like a real setting. I wish there were machine sounds (Normandy drive core, I choose you), but it makes it easy to record more and add them to your mix. Version 2 has more intuitive controls and an improved display. Great work. I bought the sound packs just to support the awesome devs.

Good background sound for working. I use this app often when i am working on something to help me stay focused. I like the ability to make the sounds 'overlap' by literally putting the circles nearer to each other. I also like that the listener circle can either be fixed in place or drifting. I usually use the drifting setting because i like the way the ambiance gradually changes. I have also recorded a few sounds of my own to add to my mixes.

Couldn’t have loved this app more, until the update. I’m a long time off and on user. When I needed background sounds, this was my go to. I was super impressed by the set up and options and after having the free version on my phone for several years, purchases the full version several months ago. I couldn’t be more disappointed with the update. Not only have I lost all my long curated soundscapes (one of the best things about this app was being able to customize everything just so), I have lost all the unlocked sounds. To add insult to injury, this is now apparently a subscription service, at 8 dollars a week??? Not only is the price extortionate, the lack of loyalty to their users is appalling. I couldn’t be more disappointed. I’m so sad to say I’ve lost faith today in good apps in general. Who knows when the program owners will turn? What a shame. An absolute shame.

Wonderful app!!. ***update*** I still absolutely love this app after several years of use!!! I think they added individual volume controls on sound bites, (or I figured it out🤓). Still waiting on sea gulls for the beach and more chime choices. MalcBaldy *** I love this app, but I noticed that the individual sound bites no longer allow “individual” volume changes. I liked it better because I could use multiple same and different bites, but some same sounds higher and some lower for the effect of closer/more distant sounds. I also noticed some missing sounds, ie. sea gulls, multiple beach waves, winds and a few more chime choices. Can you bring these feature back? … Malcbaldy

The best design!. TaoMix 2 Is the best ambient sound generator out there. With it large database of sounds included, an almost endless variety of combinations possible. With the feature of adding my own sounds and recordings, it is fastly customizable. I have used this app for years now and it has been invaluable to me.

Really helps me sleep.. I love this app. The ability to build custom mixes of sounds and volumes is awesome. Once you find the perfect combination, you can set a timer and doze off in peace. Saving multiple scenes is very helpful and allows the user to change up the audio in a matter of seconds. Overall, I really enjoy TaoMix 2.

I’m now disappointed. I was a user for this app for a while, and by that I mean before this “premium” feature was added, I rightfully payed for all of the sounds and I was very happy with what I got, unfortunately I had to delete the app because I was experiencing glitches, and it stayed deleted for a while, now I come back with this premium feature and unable to get my old stuff back! I cannot restore my purchase and it makes me upset that I won’t be able to enjoy this app as I used to.

So versatile — a must-have app. I’ve been a TaoMix devotee for ages and I spread the word to anyone needing an app for relaxation, focus, etc. I recommend it to the college students I teach as a better way to focus and achieve deep work. I personally use it to fall asleep, to drown out my coworkers during the workday, to provide background atmosphere for yoga and meditation, and even while listening to audiobooks for a bit of added ambience. As a migraine sufferer, I can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am for this app in helping me manage my brain! PS — love the new icon!!

RESPECT AND GRANDFATHER YOUR LOYAL EXISTING CUSTOMERS. Fool Me Once—Shame on YOU! Fool Me Twice—Shame on ME! I downloaded the “update” to the original app (which I liked very much) but instead of being rewarded with improvements I was tricked into installing an inferior version of the app that I already had and had paid for. Now the developer is asking me to download another “update” promising fixes to the mess that the previous update created (see other critical reviews). Unless there is DETAILED documentation from the developer on exactly what and how this most recent update will affect the app currently installed on my phone, I’ll be sitting and watching the reviews here to protect myself from further missteps and/or misrepresentations. I don’t want to pay again and again (subscription) for the complete sound options I had paid for once before. I don’t want to be fooled a second time.

2 new sounds for review. I fall asleep faster while listening to the crisp sounds of water. I have other apps for sleep sounds but this tops them all. First the layout of the app is perfect to work around and vibrant colors for added appeal. Easy to adjust sounds &i the amount with just a touch & slide up or down on iPad Pro. Great sound with quality no white noise in the background. Just good quality recorded sounds. Works great with Apple Watch⌚️. I read a review that it doesn't play sound directly from Apple Watch, 🤔. It plays sound from my watch (series 1) which is why I love it so much. From wrist to night stand. Can't beat iPad Pro sound quality tho. 🙃

Ohhh better sleep!. Love the app! I have difficulties getting to sleep and this app has helped a lot. I especially like the randomness of the sound play. Sometimes with other apps the sounds just keep looping over and over which can be irritating. Good volume control over individual sounds, plus a timer to shut off app at selected time. You can creat your own sound scales depending on your mood not just some pre-mixed looping sounds.

Good sleep aid / mediation aid. I liked the free version well enough, but I'm so glad I paid to unlock all the sounds! I like 90% of them and some are just simply amazing. (Cave sounds is my favorite pack.) I do think this app sounds best with headphones. Some of the noises are too deep or are in stereo that speakers can't reproduce. Please keep them coming, app designers! I can't wait for more sound packs :)

Blown Away!. Not like any other sound app! Very unique! They allow you to download it for free and have some limited sounds available. Thankfully that hooked me. The app is beautifully designed. I am very sound sensitive and very picky about sound apps. These are excellent quality sounds. The manner in which you create your iwn track is a thing of art!

$80 a year? Seriously?. And get this: that’s the *only* subscription option. No monthly or three month, etc. I was a huge fan of Taomix back when they allowed single pack purchases; I saw they responded to another comment that their new model allows more improvements... which would be fair if they at least broke up the subscription periods to something less than a year. I’m sorry to say it, but this really amounts to nothing but greed. I would gladly change my review to 4 or 5 stars if the developer would re-add pack purchases, or at the very minimum, have a reasonable subscription scheme.

Last update lost all my files and mixes. I’m giving this app 2 stars. It’s great when it works. But I had used it to record and import sounds over a couple of years and then the last update lost all my files and mixes. On my iPhone and iPads, everything gone. I’m glad it got updated and maybe the issue is corrected. I understand issues happen but I’m disappointed enough not to bother with this one for a while.

My favorite app... I am obsessed. There are endless soundscape options and customization. You can make complex audio with changing speed, volume of each sound, interactions (such as putting the river near the forest for example) even though it is very easy and intuitive. It takes about 5 minutes to learn how to use all of the features. There is a timer for when you want it to stop after you fall asleep. But this app can be used for much more than sleep; I use it throughout the day for relaxation, motivation, background music when guests are over... This is my favorite app. I use it every single day and cannot fall asleep without it anymore! I normally don't pay for apps but I did with this one and bought every available additional sound they offer. But without paying you get lots of sounds so buying more isn't necessary. I have tried other apps but nothing holds a candle to TaoMix2.

Good app, but.... It’s had some issues recently for one it has frequently after updates they’ve pushed out just erased all content stored. And then the pricing, went to purchase all the sounds and find it’s 7.99 per week! Per. Week. Even if the app was flawless that’s pretty excessive, and it’s not flawless. I didn’t want to rate lower based on pricing so I didn’t it’s a good app. Except sometimes erases everything and you have to start over. And if you’re interested in more options you can pay $32 per month for it. Lol

great app!. this is by far one of the most relaxing apps i’ve used! I love that it allows you to mix the sound of the app with other apps, how it allows you to adjust the volume between each mix, and how you can add your own sounds. I’m hoping that in later updates we’ll be able to create playlists. Personally that would be very helpful, when meditating before bed, I love to feel like I’m able to change sceneries haha.

Love this app.. Create sounds tracks by adding items you select from a long list, and listen to them for as long as you choose -- they play to infinity. Name and save created sound tracks option for listeners makes it convenient to generate and store sleep, study, "moods", etc., recordings you make for yourself

$8/week or $40/year??!!??. I love this app. It’s one of the best atmospheric apps on the App Store. This subscription pricing is insane and the subscription model for an app like this really doesn’t make sense. Maybe if it were a few bucks a month I might be interested as the developers should be able to make money; but I thought buying packs was fair already. The pricing of $8 a week, $20 a month or $40 a year? Well since you only get the content while you are subscribed, I guess $40 a year is what they really want you to do; which tells me they don’t have confidence the subscription plan will work. You offer a nice discount for paying a year in advance but $200???? Something is up and with pricing like that I refuse to trust them further. I may continue to use the app but I’ll keep my eye open for another. I wouldn’t suggest subscribing at this pricing level period. It’s a well made app, but not all apps need to be subscription. There will never be enough new nature sounds to justify.

WTHH. I used to love (and I mean LOVE-ed) this app but someone got greedy. I think I paid like maybe under $10 (can’t remember exactly) one time fee to unlock the premium sounds. Which was reasonable considering the quality. I took a hiatus from using it due to life issues etc. I was having trouble sleeping and thought it might help only to discover that now they want 8.99 a WEEK!!! That’s insane. I cannot imagine they will make money on it with their outrageous new pricing. Apparently you can contact them to get some access restored based on previous posts, but what a hassle. Last night I just wanted to use that app I paid for not search through a bunch of reviews to try to find out who I need to e-mail and then wait for their responses to discover what other inconvenient steps I will need to go through to get it working again. DELETE...

Great and variable ambient sound. I had been looking for an ambient sound generator that would allow me to create beach or water sounds to use while writing. This app allows you to customize the sounds, modify on the fly, and produces quality sound. I love the clean interface which is not distracting. I have come to use this daily while working on projects that require a lot of focus.

Better than White Noise. I've had White Noise since it first came out. Always liked the app but found the repeat of sounds after 5-10 seconds to be annoying at times-mostly when i couldn't sleep (which is why I usually use the app). With Tao Mix 2 controls I can mostly control the sounds, repition and speed of repition. The only improvement would be is the ability to control the pitch of the sound (I have tinnitus) and a few more sounds. Otherwise excellent!

They don’t care about their users. I bought this app when it first came out there was no subscriptions back then he’s not for this app. The sound packs were things that you bought for 1.99 or 2.99. and I bought them all I practically only entire app everything was unlocked. Now I can’t even use the app that I invested in because they locked it out and force you to use a subscription. This is not only unfair but bad business and no respect for the users who invested in this app before the subscription. These people should be able to use the app without a subscription.

Ambient audio that changes over time. What this app allows you to do is put a number of sound emitters (birds, frogs, etc.) at locations of your choice on the screen, and there is a little moving ball. Sounds that are close to the ball are louder. You can also change the overall impact of a sound on the scene by making it larger. I've seen some other implementations of this concept that are no longer available. This one is solid and contains a variety of sounds (some are free, others you must pay for). Also allows you to record your own sounds. The algorithm that decides how much impact each sound has on the scene is not my favorite - it allows one sound to take over the soundscape too easily for my taste - but I expect that is a matter of personal preference. It would benefit from an import capability so you could record sounds on better hardware than the iPhone mic, or use loops from Freesound. I will receive a couple of extra sounds for writing this review, but this did not affect my rating. Obviously, I like the app well enough to spend a few minutes writing a review to get more content.

Great, useful app—but I have a suggestion. I love Taomix 2, it’s nearly a flawless app. I use it every day to help me sleep and even while I’m awake to remain focused while completing tasks. But, I think that there should be an easier way to sort through the “My Recordings” section. I personally have a lot of different sounds that I uploaded myself, and it can be tedious trying to scroll through a long list of recordings to find a specific sound—especially since the sounds are randomized on the list as you upload them. Maybe, recordings can be added to the “My Recordings” list chronologically (as we add them)? A search bar could also be helpful. Regardless, I love taomix 2 and will continue to use it regularly. I hope my suggestion is useful, as I’d love to see these features implemented in the app!

Relaxing And Amusing. This App is so much fun to play with. It provides endless combinations of sounds that are designed to relax your mind, body, and spirit. You can also import your own sounds into the App or you can purchase additional sounds through in-App purchasing. I found the “value-pack” worth the price as it included all sounds currently available for purchase as well as all future sounds to be added later. The free version includes a descent amount of sounds to get you started.

Love it but-. Okay this is great app I would recommend this to most people, however, you only get two out of the sixteen packs and the rest are a little pricey. The sounds you do get are high quality and very relaxing (depending on what you like) ALSO! TO THE DEV, could you pretty please with 17 million cherries on top add a “play over other apps” switch doodle?thank you for reading!!

5 Stars. I have looked for an application that would allow complete control over what is heard. This one does that and more. I especially like the feature where the sound can vary as fast as desired. My first attempt was birds at top, rain in the middle and a thunderstorm at the bottom. When played, birds are heard with rain fading in. The rain gets stronger, birds fading away as the sound of thunder starts. Then the reverse. It is GREAT!!! Thanks for making this for us.

Love it. This is the only ambient sound app I've ever upgraded, and I almost never make in-app purchases. This app is highly customizable and has features you won't find in any other sound app. The free version has a small number of sounds, but what you can do with those few sounds is pretty amazing. I was so impressed with the free Helix sound that I upgraded to get the other drone sounds. They're beautiful, trance-inducing, & most importantly, not annoying; perfect for sleep & relaxation. Highly recommended.

Pretty neat. Pretty neat app with a decent amount of sounds. One can even record their own sounds to use in the app which I thought was pretty awesome considering I haven't seen it in any decent apps yet. My only issue is that there doesn't seem to be any way to make a sound have a minimum volume or some way to alter the interaction between sound so that two can be placed close together without having one of them suppress the other from playing. This causes a sudden and unnatural cut off from one sound to another to its full volume. I would like to have separate sliders for volume as well as for their influence on other sounds so that one others totally suppress the other around it because it's a slightly larger circle. It should at least allow me to have two sounds working in tandem instead of trying to fight each other to play.

This app will make you sleep like a baby. I normally have difficulty sleeping but this app allows me to sleep deeply and peacefully. The sounds are realistic and transport you to a happy and peaceful place that allows you to fall asleep and stay asleep. It really works and I am a tough customer when it comes to sleep aids. I’m so grateful for this app.

Amazing soundscape app!. I'm not a big fan of soundscape type apps, I generally just play music in the background. But I stumbled across this one and thought I'd give it a try, since the demo is free. I was blown away buy the simple but effective UI and the ability to build my own soundscapes. No boring repetitious loops, elements you find distracting rather than soothing, or a sound you like being drown out by other sounds. It really is an amazing application. I bought all the sound packs, still playing mix and match with them, and looking forward to future additions. If you're looking for this type of application I definitely recommend giving this one a try. Update: still very happy with it. Still my go to sound app.

Amazing app. This app is great for creating your own personal mix of sounds to calm you, help you sleep or to invigorate you. There are sounds to help with anything. I love using mixes to help sleep, which leads me to my only issue with the app. There doesn’t appear to be a way to set a timer for the app to stop playing a mix at a certain time. I don’t want to leave my phone playing mixes all night long, I’d love to be able to set a timer to an hour and once the hour is up the phone turns the music off. I have seen apps that can do this with music in your music library and I think the addition of this feature would make this app perfect.

Overpriced. I great app but subscription price is beyond acceptable. A comparison, the weekly charge of $11.99 is the same price you would pay for a major streaming service per month! I can’t under why the creators would think such a grossly overpriced subscription plan would be helpful in getting people onboard.

Very good. Found this app to be pretty good with all the different levels of sound that can be adjusted just the way you want, like set rain level high with a low level wind and a very distant river running

Great. Have tried so many sleep apps. The advantage of this is you don't get stuck in a sound loop. The White, purple pink etc noise work really well at night, thanks.

HuMM nearly a 5. I think that there is always a way to improve software so I would say 5 but there is a little room for improvement. Awesome. It lets you add and remove different sounds, it lets you choose which sounds you want louder or softer and it comes with a ton of free sounds. I wouldn't mind paying $2.50 to buy more sounds as an in app purchase as the app is just wonderful.

Used to be good, has turned to trash. Used to be a great app, but was sold in Dec 2018 and now has a user-hostile UI to trick people into expensive subscriptions. They don’t honour previous purchases either, the ‘Restore Your Purchases’ button doesn’t even do anything, meaning I can no longer access sounds I previously paid for. Trash.

Quality sounds. Most of the sounds are excellent. Although some sound a bit third class. I'm a sound engineer and have no doubt much better recordings could have been made of a few various sounds.. for example the flags flapping in the wind which unfortunately sound like distorted static. But overall a great app if you appreciate the natural sounds of nature. I was happy to pay for the full package, and have been mostly pleased with the sound quality, and variety. Well worth the money :)

Scam App. Downloaded “free “ trial version and then it informs me I have 3 days to cancel or they will bill me. But I can find no way to cancel. Does Apple not check this at all, now it’s repeatedly asking for my password.

All my soundscapes and recording are gone. Loved Tao Mix and recorded many unique sounds over the years, loons, frogs, twittering birds at dawn and cicadas. All lost. My favourite escape during migraine attacks now need to rebuild the library and soundscapes so sad.

Create personalized soundscapes for your life. I love to play with this ap, tweaking the balance between nature sounds, musical notes and ocean waves. Super relaxing and pretty to watch too, it is my favourite sleep background. Great for naps too, just carries you away as you watch the ball bounce.

I sure miss the old TaoMix. I know I’m going back to days long past but I sure miss the old app. This one doesn’t allow as much creativity. I find I can’t mix the sounds as nicely or smoothly.

Auto-pay after trial. Installed it to try it out to see if I liked it. I found out that instead of disabling the app after a week or asking you to pay or delete after the trial period the app forces you to agree to auto-pay at $11 A WEEK. This means if you forget to uninstall this app after the free week trial (because you don’t like or use it) you get automatically dinged $11 each week. Immediately uninstalled the app.

Indispensable!. I use this App every day to drown out all distracting sounds so I can get to super-focus state at work. There are tons of sounds but I find I keep going back to a few key ones. Great job guys!

I am a student with limited disposable income and 10$/week is well outside my budget. Very frustrating.

Why subscription??. Loved this app when I paid once and had a library of sounds on my iPod Touch. Went to download it on my iPhone and now it’s asking $65 per YEAR? No thanks. Even if it adds more sounds every year, I’m not paying that much. Too bad you can no longer just purchase set packs of sounds.

Love it. Bought all the packs back before there was a subscription and I really love all the soundscapes you can create, but I noticed there hasn’t really been any new content? Are you ever going to add more sounds? Like the heartbeat from the first TaoMix which I really loved, or footsteps in snow, or rain in a car, I still have to use YouTube to get those. Either way, it’s a really nice app, easy to use and good quality sounds

Pricing model not worth it. Very disappointing that they have switched to the subscription model. The price seems steep on its own per year, and then considering that the previous price to unlock all the sound packs together was under $15... quite the modesty there! Glad that I have purchased the app previously and do not need to subscribe... Given the available sounds and functionality of the app, I don’t believe it fits the subscription model well and would advise against supporting this model. Also, very shady that the previous app version explicitly stated that the purchase includes all future sound packs... still leftover remnants of that left around this update (sloppy). Let’s see if the developers will hold their promise.

Calming!. I'm in love with this app! It's extremely relaxing and I use it to take my meditation to the next level! The scoundscapes are good, and professionally recorded! Only drawback is the money to buy the rest of the soundscapes. Because you can do your own layering in different sounds, but yeah! It's a good app!

Use this to quiet a busy brain. Whenever I have a hard time sleeping (frequently), I use this app to soothe my busy mind. It works like a charm. I set a timer and never have to reset it that same night. Better than so many other apps. I love it!

Realistic noise. This app offers surprisingly realistic ambient nature sounds. I also appreciated having control of which ones I could select to hear and how to blend them according to my mix and volume preferences. Extremely simple to use. A good app that functions as it's been intended.

Wide variety of sounds. I purchased the full app to have all the sounds unlocked. This lets you build your own little soundscapes, throw as many or as little sounds into your soundscape as you'd like. This app is really easy to use, and very relaxing.

Do not buy. My last review which showed that the developer does not respond to the community when there is a real issue got removed. I’m not sure why. So, do not buy this app. They put out an update that removed all of my personal recordings and presets. There was no warning. All of the efforts to call them out on this have gone unanswered. They will respond to the in app purchase questions. They do not reply to the fact that they deleted presets and personal recordings. Do not buy from this developer.

Enjoying it!. It's easy to make my own mix. I like that I can adjust where the sounds are in terms of what dominates and what is more faint. Wish I could adjust volume individually though. And would like some more water sounds. Maybe a distant fog horn, buoy Bell and seagulls. I've made a couple that remind me of my home Alaska and adding some details like that would make them perfect!

BUMMER! It's just a remote control on watch for iPhone app!. Like most apps I'm disappointed that it's just a remote control for the phone from Apple Watch and that's where music plays from is the phone. If I have my phone then I can just press play or pause. Fun app the way it customized but again wanted something that the watch actually plays.

Decent but Pricey. I don't know if this is an issue with the app or the App Store but the price of the app was not listed anywhere even though most apps that you have to purchase list the price in the square you have to press to download. I thought it was free until my bank account said I had made a $15 purchase in the App Store. The app is good but not 15 dollars good.

Recording option disappeared. I used this app daily, and recorded a number of my own sounds to use to create sleep atmospheres, then one day the recording option was just gone. They still advertise that the app will record - it will not. Not can I import sounds. Really disappointed. Looking for something else now.

The Best!. I’ve tried every ambient noise, sleep sounds, nature sounds app. All of them. This one is the best. It has the perfect amount of control without being too complicated. The sounds are relaxing and has a vast and broad collection. Really worth it. It’s fantastic.

Subscription Insanity. I understand how a subscription model helps support additional development. However, this is just obscene. To charge $7.99 per week exceeds what you’d pay for other services like Netflix. That’s just crazy. On top of that, you aren’t offering a similar value proposition. I’d have paid something up front “to ensure your continued development of the product”. But not a subscription model. As others have said, a subscription model isn’t appropriate for everything.

Great!. This app is a great way to mix different sounds in the background. No long tracks, but it has the ability to make sounds more or less prominent. Timer feature is always a plus, and the ability to save and edit sound combinations really make this app one of the best.

Good app.. The subscription is a bit much. Should be a flat charge like it was when I got it. I lucked out and as of now don’t have to pay for it every month because of that. Good background noise. I've used this a few times for studying and really enjoy how customizable the sounds are. I can't focus on reading while listening to music, so this is a great alternative to drowning out distracting noises.

Life Saver!. I use this every night to drown out the sound of my husband, gaming in the next room. I think I only get about ten minutes in before I pass out. It is amazing!!! I noticed it helps me relax and am able to fall asleep faster.

The Perfect Study Aid. I find the sounds very soothing. They work wonderfully at providing coverup of distracting background noises in a busy room which really helps when attempting to read or write with others around. The sounds are remarkably natural with their fluctuations in tone and rhythm.

Like this app. Listened to rain and wind while watching the news on my muted tv. Made it more relaxing! Also leave the rain and wind on to sleep and end up sleeping longer. It is important to leave the phone plugged into the charger for that so the battery won't run down.

Where did my paid content go?. Well I use to recommend this app but after using it recently I found that the content I purchased before is now subscription and I no longer can use it the same. I don’t believe this is a legit way to treat customers who paid to unlock all sounds previously. If you need money idk maybe create a new app that is subscription and not take away features people paid for previously.

Great acoustic app. I use this all the time for background noise, to keep out noise at work or on the train or to play quietly at night and fall asleep to. It's great. I even used this app once to play a "creepy" soundtrack while my kids and I played a cool scary board game. Fun!

Helped my students reFocus. As a teacher with elementary students that are highly active and ready to play at anytime of the day having this app with its incredible calming sounds were a great help to me. I played the beautiful melodic sounds during reFocus time, morning breaks, and during student's work time.

Sleep....Finally. I live in a busy area and my sleep is often disrupted by loud street and air traffic. A friend recommended Taomix2. What a difference. It masks those sounds. I can get a restful sleep...finally. Now, I play TaoMix2 whenever I'm home because of the peaceful environment it helps create.

I use this every day/and night!. It was suggested to me to get this app from a fellow yoga teacher, I started to use it in my restorative/Yin classes and then decided to use it when I was going to sleep. My sleep has been nothing but amazing sense using it, it's deep and relaxing! This is a great app to use, thank you!

Sounds never feel repetitive. I like the ability to fully customize the sounds, but by far my favorite part of this app is the sounds never seem repetitive. A lot of other ambient/nature sounds that I've tried using are a clear loop.
