What happened to this app?. All of a sudden the app is extremely slow to load the data card. It then crashes once the data card is loaded. I uninstalled the app (losing my saved rifles and loads) and reinstalled. I still have the same problem. It started after the last update 3-4weeks ago. Anyone else experiencing this?

No good for airguns.. As many other people mentioned you can’t change it away from (g1) so this app won’t work with airguns. I bought this because it’s the only ballistics app with a watch companion app but this app still needs a lot of work.

Works as designed. Works great, and the calculation is almost perfect. One problem tho, it closes itself when it is doing any kind of generation. It seems to get about half way through the chart or any other math that’s it’s doing and then just shuts off and you have to start back over only to have the same thing happen again and again. I really think if this was fixed it would be one of the top ballistic apps out there. It’s actually better and easier to use than the StrelokPro.

ver 5.7 turtle slow on iphone pro max. I don’t know why, but ver 5.7 stuck in launching screen for minutes… First I saw the logo then 1 point x seconds later, the radar scan animation, then another 3 point x seconds before popping up the message box asking me to rate…. Then it is still not ready for the use… I’ve used the app before, so I know it’s not right.

App Download. After downloading the app and opening it, the app quickly closes and phone goes back to my home screen. It will not let me view the app more than 3 secs before quickly closing again and going back to my home screen. What is the fix for this.?

Scopes. No available options for my scope. Hope this changes as I’ve submitted a request

Environmental variables do not work. My main gripe with this app is that changing the temperature and pressure do not work properly. Pressure changes don’t seem to give any difference in firing solution. Temperature changes shows a minimal effect on trajectory and in the opposite direction of reality. If you hold muzzle velocity, pressure, and other environmental variables constant, a colder temp should result in more drop at a given range due to more dense air. This app actually shows less drop at 0F than 100F. Also, the watch app can only adjust the temperature up to 70F. You can get around the 70F limitation by entering temp in degrees C but the formulas that calculate the effect on bullet trajectory are still wrong. This app does seem to account for elevation changes. If you are a hunter that is going to be taking shots inside of 500 yards and able to verify dope in similar weather conditions to your hunt, the ability to have this on your watch can be of use. If you are shooting longer ranges and need to make a first round hit, use AB on your phone. App crashes constantly. Will not stay open for two minutes. Please fix!

Crashes every time.. Won’t open the app. Crashes every time I try to run it

Clicks. When ever you set the range and windage app is not showing how many clicks just has a line on clicks

Great ballistic calculator. Very intuitive and works perfectly. The target selection map needs some work (Manual gps refresh and the ability to scroll and stay)

Not for everyone. First one I actually paid for. The interface is great and easy to use, as stated in previous reviews it has an ammo library and you can add the scope your using. I had to quit using it because I only shoot hand loads and after entering data for my loads I felt like I was chasing my dope around. After some frustrating range trips and calibrating my reload equipment, and other numerous tests I tried another ballistic calculator. SBC app was off almost 2 moa on a 500 yard shot. If your using factory ammo that’s in their library it may work better for you.

Apple watch app is trash. The apple watch app is useless. All the inputs jump from units of 1 to 10 to 100 so it’s impossible to set the bullet weight or bc correctly making the entire calculation worthless. This thing should let you configure a load on your phone and sync it to the watch.

Great Improvements Made. I was reluctant after reading the reviews to download this app, but after looking at the update history I decided to give it a try. It has worked flawlessly and is very easy to use, including with the Apple watch. This app developer has worked incredibly hard to address all the negatives brought up in past reviews. Every update is something major that makes a huge improvement in functionality. A year ago I wouldn't have recommended it, but today I say buy it with complete confidence.

Will be great for most. Perfect for Hunters! This is the easiest, quickest app for in-the-field hunting applications. The ability to quickly pull up ballistic data for live targets is the most important factor while hunting. That is where this app excels. The developer also does a great job of updating and tweaking this app. With so many new shooters in the past year, this app’s popularity is sure to grow. Where this app could be improved: G7 data (as mentioned by nearly everyone)! Also would be great to add a scope correction factor input for inputting data obtained during a Tall Target test. Would also very much like to see rifle inputs (barrel length, twist rate) and an in-app tutorial. If it had these it would be perfect! As is, This is still my preferred app for hunting. BTW - lack of G7 data and other inputs can be overcome by truing the app to observed data from shooting. Lots of good videos out there on this and should be done regardless of the ballistic solver ur using.

Used to work, now it’s junks. A couple of years ago I downloaded it and used it to help find reticle placement for further distances. Now: it doesn’t work at all. Just keeps asking for money even after i’ve paid for a monthly subscription that didn’t exist until years after i first purchased the app

Not Recommended. Don’t get me wrong. It is a beautiful app and well put together. But if it doesn’t have your specific reticle it’s useless. Purchased a few months ago, requested my scope reticle be added and have sent an email. Last update was over 3 months ago. Developer has not added reticle or ever contacted me back. Will not be recommending to my students. Look elsewhere for a ballistics calculator.

J. Scoggins. Great application for I-phone, all data pertinent and dedicated to accuracy. Simple to use GPS is cool, lets you know what’s beyond your target in unfamiliar areas.

Love the app needs more scopes. App is great runs flawlessly. One of the most accurate ballistic calculators I’ve used with extensive load data. Only thing I’d like to see is continued updates for scopes/reticle. Namely the leupold mark 5hd with the pr2 reticle MOA. Would love to see that added.

Environment. Is there a way to get the environmental tab conditions to update automatically based on the GPS?

Drag model. You only offer the very outdated G1 drag model you need to have the G7 boat tail option

Needs two sets of weather conditions. In the future I’d like to see a place to set what weather conditions you set your zero at then what conditions you’re later shooting in. The yardage at what you zero’d at is going to be off and it would be nice to know by how much.

Stunning design flaw(maybe). I could be wrong, but I can’t change the color of the text. I would give the app a 6/5 if I could were it not for the fact that red on black characters make it virtually impossible to use in bright ambient light. It is my favorite functioning ballistic app by a long shot(npi), but it’s useless unless you do all your shooting in the worlds largest darkroom. I sent them an email, no reply. Red on black, really?... Red? On black? If I’m wrong and there is some way to change this idiotic red text to a different color please let me know, and I will gladly apologize and change my rating to 5 stars. I openly admit a sub 70 IQ when it comes to iPhone tech/apps et al, so I got that going for me as well.

Needs additional inputs. I have Ballistic AE, Shooter and Strelok pro. Also use JBM for my trusted DOPE. This app has great visual and many preloaded reticles as compared to the rest. As many have said, definitely needs development for the watch. The G1 only is a no go for long distance and ELR. I purchased it and wont use it till it gets up to par with the rest. Hopefully my purchase will help the developer. Needs Rifle profiles to add in twist rate and direction. G7 drag functions would be nice. As others have said, ability to calculate range card on phone then send to watch. Kestrel compatibility would be great. Check the ballistics against JBM, I couldn’t get them to come close.

Love this app. I have paid for and downloaded four ballistic calculators and the SBC app is hands down the best one out there. Intuitive and easy to use, save your favorite reticles for quick access and the birds eye view of your surroundings is really cool and useful. Don’t waste your time and money on any other app.

Needs to sync data between devices. The ability to sync data is needed also the watch app needs to be fleshed out. a retical view on the watch would be ideal. Also integration with a weather device like kestrel will put it over the top

Can’t enter in any variables. Useless. The app won’t let me enter values to create handloads, I can’t change the zero yardage or sight height when trying to create info for my rifles. I contacted the developer and got no response in over 3 months. If these things worked, it would be a great app 5/5. But it’s useless without being able to change the variables to my setup. MHeppler

A good start to a great potential. This app could be great but alas it’s missing the ability to share load data between devices and it would be great to get all the data organized in the phone and share it to the watch as well as being able to link the phone and the watch so you could gain duel access to the same info in real time with the phone and the watch. Deceptive. Can’t even access the app without purchasing a subscription. This should not be listed as a free app, purchases are not optional.

Not good. Big fail for only being able to have 1 rifle and optic. If there is a way to have multiple I have not found it. The data input is not user friendly, and it has features that are superfluous like target types, and scope types. That crap isn’t needed but the list below is. 1. No G7 BC’s so your calculations are not going to be as accurate. 2. No input for powder temp at zero, nor for zeroing atmospheric conditions, meaning that the calculation is just a guess with out knowing a start point. 3. No input for changes in powder performance for changes in temp.

New Reticles!. I requested a reticle and in the very next update they had my scope! The ballistic calculator is amazing and the GPS function (while sometimes can be a bit buggy) is really helpful in determining wind direction and speed. 1000 yards is no small feat and this app makes it a lot easier.

Good, but needs further work:. 1: Can only use G1, not G7. 2: Max ambient temperature on Apple Watch version is 70 degrees. 3: Zero range on Apple Watch version limited to units of ten. Cannot set 25 yards. 4: No provision to enter projectile length.

Can’t enter custom info. I used the SBC calculator before so I thought I would purchase the app to use all the benefits of the app to its fullest extent. Now I can’t enter any information into the app at all. I can’t even change any of the factory info that it comes with. If this app would work I would definitely change my rating. I enjoyed this app a lot when it worked.

Best ballistic calculator. Works great on iPhone and Apple Watch. Tried the competition and it doesn’t even come close. There’s a lite version you can try before you buy and I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

Needs data update. Really need to update their load and scope database. Tried this because I switched to iPhone and apple does the have Strelok. This has potential but limited reticle selection and limited factory load data.

Outstanding. Awesome app. Very user friendly and simple. Accurate ballistics.

For newbies or oldies. So relatively new to long distance shooting and don’t have a spotter. But once you know your zero at a specific range..(highly suggest 200) and you know the bullet you are going to use (never change btw) this app has allowed me to very accurately dial in my holds up to 450 yds with my JP 15 shooting 5.56.. Have to be within 2” of accuracy to the calculations... I believe it would be dead on if I had the exact correct velocity of my rounds, but just going with what the box says. Also the huge preloaded ammo selection is awesome. Most expensive app purchase ever, and paid for itself in the ammo I’ve saved!

Joke of an app. Free my behind! You download it and once you open it the app pushes a subscription on you. Accept it or close the app are your choices ! Not to mention that once you click the support and send some email the app crashes preventing you from sending the email.

Really good But…. Really good, but whenever I try to range card anything smaller than a 25yrd increment the program crashes. It’s not a huge deal, but I wished it wouldn’t have happen after Paying for the actual app.

No sync. Won’t sync with watch making it useless to me

Best app you can get. Hands down.. Not only do I shoot A LOT, but I also work at a range. People have asked me what this app is and I’ve told them because it’s the best app I’ve ever seen and I wouldn’t have told them if I didn’t think it was the best. If it were $50 I’d still have gotten it. It’s amazing what’s all packed into this app. I can get people (and myself) sighted in and shooting perfectly within 1-3 shots. Again, amazing app. 12/10 nothing compares to it.

July 2020: SBC Ballistic Top Rated Excellent App. Yes, this is related to all Snipers out there, it is the most accurate ballistic apps with huge ammunition data library that you can use to create your personal ballistic data which includes muzzle velocity, muzzle energy, ballistic coefficient, distance, wind speed & direction, weapon sight height, and weather condition, etc. Also includes different scopes brand either FIrst Focal Plane, Second Focal Plane, and showing many target selection with POI indicator of elevation and windage for adjustment correction needed for that range distance. The rest of ballistic apps I purchased and used that you may compare next leading are Mil-Dot Ballistic, iSnipe, Ballistic AE, StrelokPro, and the worst more expensive Applied Ballistic. Get rid of ads. The constant ads at the bottom of the app are annoying.

Ehh... I paid for the app on my Apple Watch upgraded my watch with the same Apple account and it wants me to pay for the app again... not to unhappy with that other wise the app works good

Constant crashing. Nice ballistic features, however, it crashes constantly. Then I have to uninstall and reinstall which costs valuable time when using in the field. Also having issues with the weather data updating properly.

Not bad. Apps not too bad I like it other then for the price it should allow me to change my drag from G1 to G7 messing up my hold my 2 moa at 700 yards on an elk. Only realizing it didn’t save to g7 until after I missed and later looked back at the app. The shooter app actually lets you change. it went out and shot using the holds on the shooter app and hit a tight group at 700 🤷🏼‍♂️

Good potential, but not worth the money. Yet.. Not a bad App but without the ability to input a Ballistic Coefficient (BC), its useless. At 500m the app gives me up to a 2MOA difference on other apps that allow the input of a BC. Thats 20" at 500m and obviously, the longer the shot, the more inaccurate the app is. Don't waste your money, there are better free apps with less functionality that are far more accurate with the ability to include the BC.

SBC Not working. App has been excellent for the last 6 years up until I installed version 4.3 now it will not stay open and says it is not available in my region. Disappointing as I had a lot of data saved which I cannot access now.

Awesome Ballistics app. In am new to the long range shooting game and I’ve tried a few ballistics apps (all free). I wanted to purchase one and after some research decided to get this one and have no regrets! Easy to use and very accurate helps a tonne out at the range and is easy to use and understand for a beginner.

Simple to understand. This app is simple to understand which is what a ballistic calculator should be. Significant amount of adjustable settings without being confusing. I have looked at a heap of other applications (even ones developed by my scope manufacturer) and nothing comes close. The layout is user friendly and easy to set up. I highly recommend.

Thinking I made a mistake. At first look, it is an impressive app. I purchased it largely because of the functionality with the IWatch. However, I CANNOT get it to work on the watch. I get a little spinning wheel of death and then it just closes. Hoping I can get this to work...or I will want my money back

Satisfied. But I’m an olde guy. I changed the font to enlarge it and now I get lines of data written over each other making things hard to read. I wish I could correct this. Otherwise I’m very happy. We had a lot of fun on the range shooting small cartridges at gongs out to 400M. Some we were hitting and couldn’t hear it. I might change to another app to eliminate this font problem but I’m used to this one.

App won’t run until you subscribe. The app description suggests a subscription provides additional features; however, the app provides zero features and won’t even really start unless you subscribe. Right after the logo appears, a subscription screen appears, with a purchase button, and a restore purchases button, but no way to bypass it or use the app at all until after you subscribe. Very deceptive practice.

Crap support. Scope / reticle selection is limited. I have asked support few times to add reticles, never happened. The app would be great with the proper support.

It's ok. Not the best app out there it does less than a lot of others app out there that is a lot less money. I bought it cause it works on the Apple Watch. It works on the watch but it is tedious and the watch and phone doesn't sync so you have to do everything twice and it doesn't line up with other app that I know works. Personally I wouldn't buy it again if I knew what I know now. 3 stars cause it's the only app that is stand alone on the Apple Watch.

Lacks lots of features. This only allows G1, not G7 values for bullets. It does not include basic mil dot scope option and does not have mil dot hensholdt scope option. There is very limited options for .308 155 grain bullets. Contact with developer is difficult. This is very limited compared to other options, some of which are free.

My scope is not included. I have a nightforce 2.5-10x42 1/10 MIL with a MIL-R reticle and couldn’t find it in your list of scopes.

Can’t open on iWatch. Unable to open on iWatch 6.

Worst ballistic app. Compared to the other ballistic apps available for the SAME PRICE...this one is a no frills light weight hard to use and annoying at best Look elsewhere.

This app is awesome but.... This app is awesome, but you haven’t updated it in over a year. I submitted like 3 emails requesting a scope addition. I’d hands down give it a 5 star rating, but unfortunately y’all get a 1 cuz ya didn’t add my scope. I even sent you an image of the reticle so it’s not like it would be that hard, but oh well. For $14.99 I expected y’all to care about your customers better than this.

Mr Tomcat256. 1 star for now allowing ballistic coefficient to be entered into data fields. How can you accurately calculate drop values without entering ballistic coefficient? You can't because this app gives incorrect data compared to other apps that I have used and tested and found to be accurate. I bought this app because of its Apple Watch compatibility but I wish I could get a refund. I emailed the app developer asking why he excluded ballistic coefficient values and received no response. I waited 48 hours after sending an email and then came here to write my review. I do not recommend this ballistic calculator.

Program crashes. Ballistic table run crashes program after about 150yds. Program crashes during other functions. Limited scope support. Program has potential but it's not worth the aggravation.

App Crashes. 12/2022 Version 5.4 - App Crashes - No way to contact developer to report crashing so had to write a review.

Good App but has short comings. Needs more optics models with mil-dot MOA versions. Second short coming is with .303 BC it won't calculate the bullet trajectory. But if you can deal with that it's a great app.

Doesn’t work on iWatch 6. Payed premium price for the app that supposedly works on iWatch. Nope. IT DOESN’T. Thanks a lot (sarcasm). It’s working OK if you are going to use it on iPhone.

Useless for me.. I have a Nikon monarch 3 6-24 x 50 BDC scope that is not in this list. Waste of money for me.

Wrong reticle. Does not have the correct TMR3 reticle for Leupold Mark5 HD

Some weaknesses. The design of the app is pretty good and it’s initiative to use. The calculation is not matching with other ballistic software, I believe due to the lack of data you can enter. When using others I get the exact same values as manufacturers have on their boxes- with this app after 200-250 yards it starts getting inaccurate. However there are other small things, for example all Trijicon Accupoint have are SFP but in this app they are shown as FFP which makes this feature useless.

Wait for a better implementation. Unfortunately this app is so limited it's not worth the price despite being Apple Watch compatible. The Ballistic engine is limited (G1 form factor only), one cannot create a library of projectiles, cannot create a "DOPE" sheet, have to input range for each calculation, cannot graphically view wind deflection or drop, cannot get drop in inches, there is no output in milliradians (only fraction of Mil click values). The list of limitations is too long to detail. Bottom line, if you are a shooter looking for an Apple Watch Ballistic calculator, please don't spend money on this app and hope established iOS apps like Ballistic implement a useable Watch solution.

Inaccurate scope reticle, email bounced. Nice idea, but the Redfield TAC-MOA reticle subtensions are incorrect. An email to the developer bounced.

Add reticle. Can you please add the Vortex Razor HD gen 2 with the HORUS 3reticle?

Disappointed. When I enter information, the information reverts back to whatever was there before I entered my information. Worthless to me.
