Highly recommend for younger casual investors. This app is really good for people who might not know too much about investing. It will give you a little bit of training materials that will set you on the right path, it offers banking options, Retirement options, and access to the stock market with good breakdowns, great options. They offer bond packs that allow you to see what you’re investing in. They give you the option to immediately re-invest dividends into stocks that pay dividends. They give you a debit card that gives you stock in companies that you patron using the card. They give you access to many other features, The phone support is pretty good in explaining what’s going on with the system. Just be aware that moving money between accounts usually takes up to two business days, and likewise for selling stocks. I believe that’s due to legal procedures, but I’ve found it gives me time to consider deeply what I really want to invest in. The app is admittedly addictive, and pleasurable. It works great regardless if you’re always on it or If you invest and forget about it for a while. Make your money work for you. Put yourself in a better spot for the future. I wish I could opt in to a little more niche market options, Crypto for example. I don’t think this app was designed for that though.

Horrible customer service!. President won’t even speak to you! My writing this review even puts me in harms way using there service! They siphon funds in little amounts all the time and hope you won’t notice! If you try to call them on it they say do you have a screenshot for proof. So who sits around and takes screenshots of there accounts all day to make sure your investment firm isn’t ripping you off! The banking part is just as bad! There’s no real tracking on it so you can’t tell if there information is correct without auditing your funding account to see if things match up. And they don’t. I’m real glad I tested this app for the last 9 months with just under $2000 over time of funding it before moving the bulk of my savings to here for investment! I will be doing further research into them as well for SEC,FDIC and the BBB for the missing funds in my account before I go though! Really this app has potential to be good for the investors but at this point it’s all about taking as much as they can from the customer and let the foreign customer service take the complaints while Brandon krieg sits on his island laughing at us! We’ll also see what the attorney general’s office has to say about criminal side of there investigation too! Rant over loose your money if you want or make money for free on Robinhood!!

Great learning tool for new investors. When I first started I had little to no success in the market. Basically, I knew nothing. But after reading about how STASH helps us retailers and using their education blogs I was able to start actually earning and grow my savings. So I am putting a regularly scheduled amounts into both a retirement plan and personal account along with any disposable income I have. Their is a “smart account that STASH manages it. Mine earns well enough but I’m optimistically cautious about that account. I rarely withdrawal any cash as it’s a savings account. I have learned so much from them that now I can look to more aggressive investments within the app for faster growth, high risk investments. I have even learned about crypto currency and trading in that world too. I haven’t seen STASH get involved with cryptocurrency but as a result of my education from the STASH I have been using their strategies in the crypto market with some success. I have enjoyed the last 2 years with this app and it’s my go to for most of my questions. I feel I still have much to learn and this app helps. I have recommended this app to many people and they have enjoyed it as well. Anyway that’s my two cents. Good job stash team!

The Financial guide I didn’t SO GREATFUL to have tried!!!!. When I first saw Stash, it was an advertisement - very much like Acorn and I was skeptical because I was just like how does this work? But something inside told me to try it so I tried it. I’ve always been interested in investing in stocks and didn’t really know how to get into it, so (and I 1000% mean this) STASH IS PERFECT FOR ANYONE - ANY ONE - looking to get into investing with an easy learning tool that motivates you, encourages and fosters good habits, and gives you a total view of your spending habits so that you can make the appropriate adjustments in your budget! It has made it significantly easier for me to save up and reach my financial goals like retirement and travel. It’s easy for you to see everything, especially if you set up direct deposit into it and set up automatic bill payments. It’s amazing to be able to open the app and just have a good view of my finances. PLUS ALL THE STOCK BACK REWARDS FOR SHOPPING 😍👌🏾It makes budgeting, saving for the future, and financial planning, THAT much easier. Who wouldn’t want that during these strange times?!?!?!? Even kids can use it is that easy. Ps. I promise I’m not a paid actor - I’m just a Black girl who’s trying to establish generational wealth.

Great idea, horrible execution.. I have been a Stasher for over a year and a Founder of their checking account. Recently Stash over drafted my Chase Bank account by duplicating an automatic transfer from my Chase checking account, and Stash admitted to their mistake. I tried to disconnect that external account and link another, but the app showed an error. Called customer service and they were also unable solve the issue and was referred to “operations”, which I assume is their tech support. Because I did not authorize this duplicate payment, Chase is in their right to charge me overdraft fees. Stash never returned my money, and on top of that have to pay the overdraft fee. The main appeal of Stash over other investment firms is the lack of fees and their auto-Stash, so if these don’t work there is no incentive to open a Stash account. Fortunately, other investment firms followed suit on Stash/Robinhood by not charging trade fees, so I can get much better service at the same price elsewhere. I agree with the core values and investment strategy of Stash, but technical difficulties are too common and too inconvenient for any working person to deal with, so I am closing my account and never returning to Stash again. Hoping I will get to see the money that was taken from me without my authorization. This is completely unacceptable, especially from an investment app that has only been good at hurting my returns.

Great Application. Everything about this app is designed for the user. The stock market or a bank operation this app will help you. The only problem I find is the customer service. It is almost perfect, they have trouble figuring out a bank account that has recently been emptied. For some reason instead of cancelling the transaction it takes forever to get your Stash account back online which is annoying to say the lest. The require more of the same bank info that you started the account with which ends up taking almost a whole month to unlock my account. This type of confusion makes me want to go somewhere else and do the same thing without all the waisted time. They never explain to the user if you use an account that has recently been drained due to bills or these trying times that they will lock your account all together and make you jump through hoops to get it going again.. I wish they would just say no try another account instead putting a freeze on your account. Seems a little unnecessary. Other than that it’s a pretty good app. I would recommend this app to some people that don’t mind jumping through hoops sometimes. Plus they charge you $5 bucks every time you wanna put cash onto your account card. Kinda Tacky!

Stupid Me. A friend referred me to Stash and I signed up thinking that it was a good way to invest. I set up auto Stash and they were taking $5 a week out of my account. I’ve been a customer for about six months and would periodically check my account balance to monitor growth. I checked today to see what was going on and realize how low my balance seemed in relation to the amount that was coming out of my account. What also caught my attention was that my account said that I had $113 in cash and I thought that was strange since the money was being invested. Stupid me I didn’t realize they were charging me a monthly fee and not actually investing my money. They only amount invested was $25. The CSR I spoke to said that since my money was not invested, I had opened three investment accounts and only one was being used, the fee was $9 a month. I was hopping mad. If Stash could select the investments for the first account why couldn’t they do the same for the other two. I told her that I did not know anything about investing and was under the delusion that Stash was auto investing for me. They put the rest of my money into an account and were holding it like a savings account. My monthly “investment” was for $20 and Stash has been paying themselves a fee of $9. Needless to say I requested that the account be closed and my money returned to me. I wouldn’t refer anyone to them.

It will take your money but won’t give it back. I was happy with this app for the first couple years that I have used it. It has allowed me to save up a nice amount of money and gain some good experience with investing. However, my issue with it is this. My financial situation has changed recently so I decided I want to put a hold on the auto stash feature ( which automatically takes money out of your bank account and puts it into the app) as well as withdraw a cash balance I had in the app. First off, I could not put a hold on the auto stash feature, I have gone around and around in circles on the app trying to figure out how to turn the feature off. It could not be more confusing. Also, I could not withdraw the cash balance I had in the app. The app would “freeze” ( I don’t know how else to describe it) when I would try and finalize the transfer from the app to my bank account. I figured something was wrong with the transfer feature on the app, so since I couldn’t take money out I checked to see if I could put money in. Guess what?! That worked. The app will take my money no problem. But if I want to withdraw my money then all of a sudden it no longer works. I don’t think I am going to continue to use a service that will gladly take my money but will not give it back to me.

Best decision. I am an average person with a job that barley pays over the poverty line. I realize that if I’m to build wealth with the little bit of money I’m able to get I needed help but didn’t know the first place to start. So when my friend suggested that I should get the stash app. I was hesitant at first because I didn’t know anything about investing or portfolios much less how to choose which stocks to buy or more importantly which ones not to. Since I’ve had stash I can say that I have a better idea of the process and all my questions have been answered and even questions that I didn’t know to ask. Stash has helped educate me and put my mind at ease when it comes to building wealth in the stock and investment world. To the Stash team I am grateful and appreciate the help and hard work that they put into helping me make smart decisions in regards to building wealth long and short term. Hands down the smartest thing I have ever done with my phone is download Stash! Building wealth is a difficult task but with Stash I started doing just that. They say every difficult journey starts with a single step and getting the Stash app was mine, it can be yours to so don’t worry and start building wealth it is the best thing you can do for yourself. It was for me.

Horrible Customer Service. This app was great AT FIRST! Everything seemed fine, I invested in some stocks and had about $25 in my portfolio. Then I decided (since I felt a little more comfortable) to transfer $25 to my portfolio and reached $50 in my portfolio. I used my $25 to invest in some more stocks but the next day, all my investments were gone and my portfolio was back down to $25 and I actually lost money because all of my returns from the investments were gone. I called Stash and they said that the transfer was cancelled. I attempted to redo this like three times but every time “my bank” supposedly cancels the transfer. I don’t understand why this is happening and customer support didn’t help me at all. They just kept telling me that the stocks “were not mine” to begin with. So if they’re not mine, fine. I don’t want them to be anymore anyway. This app is a joke, I read reviews and more people are having issues like me. Someone suggested Robinhood so I’m going to try them now. Bye, Stash, I’m out! ✌️ By the way, I forgot to mention. Even after closing my account and selling all my investments, Stash still managed to charge my bank account $6 for I don’t even know what. But that’s funny how they can charge me for their BS but when I want to transfer money to invest, it always get “cancelled”. Seems a bit weird, right? This company is a scam. Seemed like a great idea but it’s poorly executed. Hopefully other companies are doing it the right way.

Love Stash. I joined Stash in 2016. They have made so many improvements over the last few years. In my opinion, this is a great app & bank for younger people to learn and get started investing. Using the Stash tools will teach not only the younger generation but anyone the basics and more of the stock markets and investing. The round up program is a great tool. The one I use is the stock purchase plan when using their debit. I also love the fractional purchase option. Set up a regular deposit weekly or monthly and purchase your favorite company without thinking about it. Before you know it your at 10 shares then 25 & up. Check in on your portfolio anytime. I gave Stash 4 stars just for the reason of there is some companies you can’t buy at this time but that seems to be penny stocks. Also Stash doesn’t have some abilities for the market like options, buying margins but I don’t think you need that on this platform as it’s more for newer investors. Also their transfers of money to your regular bank shouldn’t take 3-5 days as well as the sale of stocks the proceeds shouldn’t take as long as they do. It should be instant. But that is me being picky. I highly recommend Stash!

Love Stash.. I absolutely love Stash Invest. I've used Acorns & another investing app, but I've never been able to fully understand what was actually happening with my money while also seeing an increasing return. What caught my attention with Stash is the ease of access to a stock platform that wasn’t just a long jumping line. They give you $5 to cover the startup, so you can invest right away & for $1 monthly subscription fee. Using Acorns, I lost money & they charged a higher monthly subscription- then they kept taking my rollover money & losing that too. Other apps charge high fees but luckily, I broke even when I finally gave up. Stash Invest has done more than I would have expected in a short amount of time. The app has improved steadily over the last 4 years I’ve been using it, always adding new tickers & functionality. News updates, mini lessons, descriptions, & definitions all in one place! You really learn about what you are doing & how your money can work for you. Stash has not only helped me save & earn, but also, given me an opportunity to test the waters & really begin investing for my future. I’ve started a checking account through them now as well & couldn’t be more satisfied.

A good habit of saving.. I started Stash about four months ago. I didn’t deposit anything for the first month and kinda just researched the app a little bit. The first thing i love about Stash is that it’s super user friendly. It’s easy for me to navigate and it’s beautifully built. The second thing i like about it, is that you can go at your own pace, whatever that may be. This app is meant for INVESTING which means “stashing” your money away and forgetting about it. Me personally, I’ve always tried to set money back in my savings and checking account and it just seemed like nothing ever grows. With stash, I’m able to put back an amount that is comfortable for me. They have a feature called auto-stash and i turned that on. I set my limit at $10 a week, noticed it was super easy and wasn’t losing any sleep over it, so i moved it up to $30. I did $30 for a few weeks and got excited so i bumped it up to $60 a week. For me, this is the perfect flow right now. It’s been three months of consistent saving, NO withdraws, and i purchased some ETF’s and Stocks in a few companies and my stash account just hit $1,000 with $104 being a return. This is a great way for you to save a little bit of money, and letting it grow over time. I give it 5 stars for my experience. I may leave another review when i hit 5k!! 😛

Poor customer service. I’ve been investing with them since they started up a few years ago. I’ve been so impressed with them that I tell all of my friends about them and I even have taken advantage of their online banking services now as my primary bank. However, over the past few months I’ve encountered a number of technical errors with the stash app and have had to contact customer service on many occasions and each time the representatives have either not addressed the issue at all or just given me an answer that was different from the previous customer service rep indicating that they really don’t know what’s going on. It’s been about 3 months now that I’ve had the same technical error with the stash app. It took them 2 months to elevate the issue to their IT department who contacted me and I did what they said to do. Their solution was just to have me go to their online website and try to purchase my stocks that way... avoiding the app all together... So I logged into the website and purchased my stocks that way and finally it worked however, somehow the act of logging into their website completely locked me out of my Stash App. I contacted customer support and it’s been days and no response. These guys used to be great but obviously they expanded way too fast for their own good. They’re customer service and IT department aren’t trained properly to handle much of anything and they certainly aren’t on the same page. Get a grip guys. This is ridiculous.

Please define the word steal. Years ago my wife and I sold all we had in stash. I thought I had closed my account. Months later I discovered they were still charging me a monthly $1 maintenance fee. They managed to slip in something like $0.35 that apparently they owed me. So I pulled the money out AGAIN and thought I had closed the account. Again, months later I discovered that I was being charged $1 monthly maintenance fee. So then I went and found that there were additional steps required to take to close an account. Finally got it closed. I checked my bank account recently. This is on a bank account that I never use for anything of significance. FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS THEY HAVE BEEN CHARGING ME A MAINTENANCE FEE! After some digging we found that it is on my wife’s account that she never took all the steps to close. $1 per month for years on a zero balance account, with zero activity. While technically not stealing, I feel that this falls clearly under the unethical category. What did I lose? Maybe $50 all told. Not that big a deal. But I gained a reminder that people will goose you for a buck and continue to goose you so long as you don’t notice it. Thanks for the life lesson Stash! If you are genuinely interested in getting on the side of morality with no questions asked, send an email letting us know you are still taking money on an inactive account.

Decent. Easy place to slowly build up a financial safety net overtime while overall serving a user better than a traditional bank. Three years I’ve used it so far. A nice place to put things on autopilot in the background. Plenty of information available all over the app. Downsides: Overall boring looking interface. Weak, cheap plastic debit card whereas acorns sends a heavy duty gem and Robinhood a sleek card with choice design. Very flimsy and uninspiring when compared to even the most basic of cards. Non-interactive platform. Your portfolio doesn’t instantaneously change with new market data. It changes just a few times a day. No excitement will come from watching it. Not even the automated smart portfolio moves instantly, only working within their trading windows. Not a fast moving platform at all. Meant to be gentle. Update 2022: I started investing with them in 2017. Smooth sailing. Lovely growth. Gradual. Twice in less than a month I’ve not been able to access my account on my phone. For whatever reason stash will occasionally give error codes “stash is cancelled” among other peculiar things. My phone automatically updates these apps, so I always have the latest version. I have to uninstall and reinstall. If this can’t get resolved I will probably transfer all holdings to another account and delete stash.

Took the monthly subscription out but nothing else.... I set up my Stash account about 9-10 months ago & selected a few businesses to invest in every two weeks totaling $20 every two weeks but they never took anything out of my account for the investments only their subscription fee every month which is ridiculous?! Every few weeks I would check to make sure it was set up correctly & the companies I selected to invest in were there & showed biweekly on Friday’s? However nothing EVER came out for those NOT ONCE!? I eventually forgot about this app until I checked my bank account Stash was tied to & saw that their still taking the monthly subscription out every month but nothing for my investments??? I finally went into the app & FAQS to locate how to cancel subscription which you have to do online only? Cannot cancel through the app itself which is also ridiculous & if you still have the app installed & using your phone when logging into the website it automatically redirects you to the mobile app so I had to uninstall the app then go back to the website & search for the cancellation. FAQS is also useless as it tells you to go to “Manage Account” & there was no “Manage Account”? I found it but not where FAQS said 🙄😤😤 I personally do not recommend this app at all!!

Beautiful but Busy. I love the look of this app, and how easy it is to use and invest money into things that support the causes I care about (like the “Clean and Green” fund), but unfortunately the pros outweigh the cons. I hate how busy and annoying this app is. There seems to be no way to opt out of all the things it tries to push on you all the time, such as the Stash debit card and all the pressure to diversify your portfolio. Hey, I understand that these things may be important to some people, but you should be able to just say “No” and have these things gone, leaving you with a nice, uncluttered dashboard. Not all investors have the same experience levels and/or goals, so the developers Stash should allow users to customize this experience to suit each investors’ needs. Lastly, and maybe this is a bug (as opposed to inconsiderate design choices), but sometimes when I open the app I have a pop-up that covers the screen wanting me to refer my friends, and I can’t close the pop-up, no matter how many times I hit the X in the top right corner. Super annoying when all I want to do is check to see how my investments did for the day. Ultimately, I have to close the app, relaunch it and cross my fingers. Usually this works, but still a PITA for an app that I’M ALREADY PAYING A MONTHLY FEE TO USE! You’ve been around long enough to have this stuff sorted out, Stash. So, shape up or I’m shipping (and cashing) out.

This app has been amazing and is helping to create a small secondary income. I’ve been wanting to invest for many years and like many saving the initial used to be minimal 1k and up to get started was always a financial barrier working poor like many Americans. I had this app on an old phone for over a year before I finished setting it up and unlocking its potential. I love the debit card rewards back in stock . I’ve been able through some assistance with other apps and the great learning tools been able to save and create a more than 50$ a month in various dividends from quality companies by saving 2/3$ a company every few weeks over the past few years. I also save with acorns every 2 weeks but my main go to now has been stash. I’ve been able to share it with a few friends and benefited from the referrals a few times. I enjoy the stock parties every Wednesday or every other Wednesday learning about new and old companies. I took a little while to get to where the dividends would help cover the monthly subscription amount and I was a little slow to get the added IRA benefit account set up but now I wouldn’t have it any other way. Knowing I have people who have a vested interest in helping to improve mine and everyone else’s on the apps financial aptitude without high commissions or fees helps make it easier to wake up everyday to try and save at least 3$ or a little more to better mine and my family’s life. Sincerely grateful, Jason

Like a Savings Account but better. For someone who doesn't have a full stock portfolio and thousands of dollars to just gamble this investment app is absolutely amazing its like a savings account with a much higher interest rate , let it be known Dividends are amazing, Thankyou Stash for giving me the ability to invest in the stock market and similar things like it within the budget I can afford. I love that Stash is branching out into banking as well I probably wont do that right away but I may jump in on it later. Edit: Stash is definitely better than doing nothing with your money, but the monthly fee’s can get at you when you have smaller amounts of money, I love the diverse range of investments you can do, but I would like to see lower monthly fee’s , more direct stocks, and finally I would love to see Stash branch into the Crypto scene as they start to settle in a become more normalized. Not immediately, but to give it a chance. Honestly I love stash, but I’d like a different way of them making money, kinda like Robinhood. I love all the features Stash has like Rounding up, the Retirement plans, retirement plans for your children, the Debit card, ect. But these are the improvements I’d like to see.

Great app to begin investing. I started investing with stash when I was 24. In the beginning it was a challenge to understand investments, strategies, and all of of the rules involved with investing. But after I did my own research on the stock market and capital gains tax, and with the help from stashes insights. I have become very confident in my ability to invest my hard earned money into things I believe in and understand, and now my money is working for me more aggressively! Stash made it easy! When I started, the app was kind of slow with ticker prices and didn’t have the smart portfolio. But over time these things have been updated and have become even more user friendly and the new smart portfolio seems to be working out good with the amount that I put into it. I would recommend stash to any beginner in the stock market. Also the stock party’s are a plus to earn some extra change. It only takes a few minutes to earn! I would recommend going that route for beginners. Thank you stash! With your help, me and my fiancé will be able to purchase our first house!

Buyer Beware. A friend of mine sent this to me and it looked interesting. I signed up using an account that only receives a small portion of my pay (basically my “pocket money” account) and I’m so glad that I did because no matter how many times I check every setting I can find in the app and set them all to withdraw “bi-weekly on Friday’s”, I continue to have withdrawals *every* Friday, and as of today I can add a Monday to the list too — I’m also lucky that I decided to set each withdrawal at only $20 (for each of 3 different Stash “accounts”) while I test it out, I couldn’t imagine if they were taking out larger sums left and right against my will. I keep taking screenshots of one of the settings which I’ve repeatedly set to “bi-weekly”, because every week after I notice another unwanted withdrawal the setting will be magically switched back to “weekly”... On top of all of this, the app has been telling me that my “stash debit card” is ready to activate for about a month now, but there has been no sign of it in the mail. I have been at this address for over 5 years, my wife receives items she orders online about 2-4 times per week, and I’ve never had an issue with receiving mail or anything else here at all until this circus of a situation came along. As soon as I can figure out how to recover whatever they will let me recover from this mess, I am out!

At first this was great, with time passing not so much. The title says it all. I say this because well at first auto investing, round offs and the stock back card seemed great. Except for right now idk why it keeps auto withdrawing over $20 a week, when I have only committed to $5 a week, I turned it off and it still pulls over $20 a week every week. I don’t get it, plus you have to pay $1 a month to the use the app. Not only that but if you want to sell a position you have in a stock you have to wait 2 trading days to get the cash for it before you can transfer it to your bank account(which takes another 2-3 business days) or purchase another stock. Which is extremely inconvenient. Plus there are only trading windows every day, so if you want to purchase stock you are not getting it at the price you want. You get it at the price the stock is at the time of when they purchase it. Save yourself money and time and just don’t be lazy. Go use another app and just invest your money yourself instead of having the app invest it for you. Unless you just want to keep buying in one or two stocks for a long term investment and do not plan to ever need the money out of your investment without waiting 5+ business days, then it’s not to bad. Just not for what I expected or what I need it for.

If I could give it a 0 I would.. There is no such thing as customer service on this app, they don’t provide ANY type of contact information if you are having a problem, which I had MANY problems with this app and account. First of all, if you want to withdrawal your own money out of your own account they won’t give it to you until about 30 days after you request a withdraw. Second, I have tried to get ahold of some type of customer support for this app and there is literally NOTHING! I send e-mail after e-mail requesting help from them and they have never replied to me and I’ve sent about 100 e-mails so far asking for help (no exaggeration). Third, yes you can make decent money off of this app as long as you put in about $1,000 into your investments, just an FYI. Fourth, if your in the investing for the long-run, then this might be a fine app for you personally, but if you are trying to get cash fast to pay the bills, this app will not work for you. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about this app. It could definitely improve. I have requested to withdrawal my money that is in my stash account that ALL of my investments have been SOLD for about a long time now, and I still have not received MY OWN MONEY from them, NOR will they even let me withdraw MY CASH from MY OWN ACCOUNT on the app! That’s all, rant over. Good luck!!!

Beginner, I'm so excited about Stash!. Wow! I've started at the end of July and I feel very confident in this app. I've always wanted to invest. First I tried Merrill Lynch with my bank and they even called me, at first I thought I was opening just a retirement / savings account with them but they said I signed up for stocks which is very confusing since I thought it was savings. But I tried and really I couldn't understand nothing of that, I still haven't deposited anything because it's too confusing. So I researched other ways and this is when I found Stash. I started with $30 a week out my checking account then as of 2 weeks ago my only return was $2.35 and I had 4 ETFs but one seemed to not be doing so well, I know they say sell when market is low but as a beginner I don't understand all that but as it was not doing me well and the other 3 were better , I sold that one and put $10 out my stash account into the one doing extremely well. I feel very confident in my choices and as of yesterday I have a return of $4.35... In 2 weeks $2, that's amazing to me as it took me 4 months to get only $2.35. I'm still learning and I still want to open retirement and savings in stash as they offer both. I even got $5 for getting someone to sign up and it's $1 a month fee to stash :) no one can beat that! Win win!

I had money missing from my account.. I had been noticing that there were two instances in which I’ve seen money disappear in either my funds waiting to clear or my cleared funds in my investment account. The returns that they list at the top are deceiving and inaccurate. It’s also impossible to get a trade done before you loose money. I pulled out ALLL of my money as I tried over and over to get the issue resolved. Although the people answer for Cust service were very polite, I couldn’t get my problem solved. They all told me that they would need to have a manager call me back. All three times this happened and all three times no call back. Compare them with TD Ameritrade or Even SoFi. They sell fake crypto, but they’re very good bankers. STASH is just another spawn of Gree Dot Bank, the worlds worst predatory credit card company. Now they just steal outright because people just don’t trust backs anymore. I gave them one star because of their ‘Top Off’ feature and Stock Back. That’s it. I wouldn’t trust them with a larger investment balance. Some days about a year ago it took over a 24 hours for a trades to go thru. Now it takes 3 hours. I lost really big one time and that was the straw that broke the back. Theres simply no excuse for money to dissapear. The last person I spoke with was going to ask someone to audit the acct. I’m assuming they found something. I’m sure I’ll get a notice for a class action suit soon. I’m positive I’m not the only one.

Lots of pros, but a couple key cons.. I’ve been using Stash for a couple years now. I started using it, and have continue to do so, as it’s so easy to use. I like how easy it is to pull up different investments and are provided a simple and important overview of the investment. In just a couple quick taps, I can purchase or sale what I need. Additionally, the cost to use Stash is low what is a huge reason I’ve been using it as long as I have. Now there are two big downsides that has lead me to look into investing elsewhere. One - they push both their banking option/debit card hard. You seem to always have to click “no” every time you log on and a pop up appears pushing their debit card. I pushed “ok” or something of the effect by accident one time and a week later, a Stash debit card showed up in the mail. It’s been sitting unused since. Additionally, and I keep on waiting for this to be fixed in updates, but when I go into the “View all transactions” options of my investments, it appears to try and load the data, but after sitting for minutes, nothing appears. This happens nearly every time and has been this way for months now. It’s super important to see my transaction history and what is the most frustrating part of this app.

Beginners only, good chance to lose everything!. Stash is ok and only ok if the stock market continues to go up. The main problem with Stash is there is no urgency. As we all know, the stock market is in for some real turbulence in the short term. Here is an example why not to use Stash. Say you have a hundred thousand dollars invested for n Stash and all of the sudden you see that there is going to be a huge stock market crash. Any sane person would try not to lose all there money right? Well if you panick and try to sell all your stock and not lose everything you own, Stash will wait for about 8 hours before they execute your trade so you will probably lose everything! So the developer responded and confirmed exactly what I said. They only trade 4 times a day which leaves just enough time to lose all your money if a crash happens. There is no focus on the individuals money, they will let you lose all of it. As happened to me. Can you imagine a company being like that, oh my god everything on the market is going down by 80 percent, but we won’t sell the customers stocks for 4 more hours because we aren’t scheduled for a trade yet, it’s like we know the customer put in a trade order but we will wait 4 more hours to execute the trade, it may only be his life savings, but who cares, it’s not 4 hours yet! Idiots.

Pretty good service for starting out. Overall for the most part I’m pretty satisfied with Stash my only complaint is the lack of accessibility to stocks. Stash has roughly half of the companies listed on the NASDAQ available to it’s subscribers for investing. I have emailed in a few times regarding this issue and asked when specific stocks would be available in the portfolio. The only answer I get back is that they add new stocks daily. However, unless they also take some away daily I have not seen a growth in the overall size of the available stock portfolio to support that statement. I have not seen any of the stocks that I have requested become available either and it’s been at least four months since I last asked. I was forced to open a Fidelity account as well or miss out on some really good stock buys. Overall I do really like the app and how user friendly and easy it is to use. It is truly my preference for investing. Maybe if they ever get all of the stocks on the market available for purchase I will close my Fidelity account and go back to just using Stash. Right now though I can’t afford to miss out on all the money that they leave on the table.

Potential for greatness but seriously lacking. it makes investing fun. But unfortunately the creators need to step up trading windows, clearance of bank deposits, and the promotional friend referrals. I still haven’t received any of my friend referrals even though I was literally next to them when they did and they started investing via the app. I cannot stand how long it takes yo clear a trade, there’s only four half hour windows a day so if you’re looking for a price to trade and it’s outside of that, forget it. Plus, it takes a ridiculous amount of time for cash to clear from the app to your bank. My bank is great at clearing deposits except with stash. It’s too slow, there isn’t an excuse for this, it needs to be fixed. It’s why I decided to never ever use the stash card, not worth the headache. It’s really unfortunate because this app really has a lot of potential. It’s really a clever idea and really smooth to use. But stash has to keep users happy, if they’re smart they will fix it and make necessary improvements. People have other options now. I intended to have my stash be my primary investment tool but now I feel I can’t trust them with my money (never good) and they don’t honor their promotions so I started using Stash as my secondary tool and only using it once in a while.

Absolute DISASTER Since Changing Underlying Banks. This used to be my favorite banking app. NOT anymore! Today I changed to ACORNS. RUN AWAY from this app! Ever since they changed banks to Stride and moved away from Green Dot, it has been complete TRASH. I had a total of zero issues in the years they used Green Dot. In the less than a month since they changed to Stride, I’ve had DAILY problems. Can’t direct deposit, can’t deposit checks, can’t Zelle money, basically, it’s a BANK “ACCOUNT” YOU CAN’T PUT MONEY INTO. It’s a complete JOKE. Finally I hit my last straw. I’m taking my money elsewhere. (It’s not like I could add it to my Stash account, anyway!) A brief search online shows there are many, many users in the same boat. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND RUN AWAY BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE! Edit: The developer replied with a stock answer that the developer gives for every one star review. It’s a complete Joke. They do absolutely nothing to help fix the situation but desperately hope that their stock reply will mitigate a one star review. It will only make it worse. This useless reply from the developer is just one more indicator to everyone to RUN AWAY. IF I COULD, I WOULD EDIT MY REVIEW TO ZERO STARS BASED ON THIS USELESS DEVELOPER REPLY. If you want to help, change back to Green Dot bank, when everything worked smoothly……….. The change to the new bank is a complete failure.

Reasonable support. I have no issues that needs attention as of date except that if only i may suggest that they come up with a live support team that can maybe look into our portfolio and suggest whether a divesification is needed or there is a need to do some restructuring for too many stocks, sort of a financial adviser, in order for us to be well guided in stock trading or investing. Most of us here are beginners and learning without the right guidance is not reallly learning, you know what i mean …. Its like we keep investing without knowing its stability. In addition to this, since i also have a cash app, and also invested therein and i have noticed a feature they have which shows information on the stock with the corresponding percentage of the amount you gained or lost, thereby it is informing me whether or not i should go on with the stock or let go of it, this is very efficient feature since your time maintaining the stock wont be put into waste since you have the option to predict based on the current earnings or loss you have. Should Stash include this it will be very efficient to within the app.

Power house. This is the best micro saving app out of all the apps I have tried. I have utilized the resources they provide and have truly gained alot of knowledge and income. I have amassed quite a Nest egg for myself that I am extremely proud of. I absolutely love the stock back feature. Everytime I receive stock back from any purchase, I feel I am that closer to my goal. You get mostly pennies back, but they add up very quickly if you use your card often. A little bit does build into something monumental. Keep at it. I like the fact that you can talk to a live person if you need to. You can control how much you spend or save. You can see use it to build up your discretionary income that would have been sitting in a bank account drawing next to no interest. My best advice is give the site an honest chance. By that I mean use auto save, invest everyday so that you get used to saving if you are not used to the habit. You can use the referral feature and any promotions for free stuff to get free money. Swipe your card for all purchases as well as pay bills. Invest any spare change into any stocks. Read the articles and watch your money grow!

Put my account in a negative balance don’t use. Hello guys this is my first review of a app why my first this is the app that put my bank account in a negative balance so I am a beginner and wanted to make some money so I bought small invest of like 10 dollars they gave me 5 n I used 5 i then I decided I wanted to invest good money so I picked some stocks I would like in fortune so I put them in my portfolio it added up to 20$ I’m auto stash I set a schedule for 20$ to be taken out the next week I get payed then stash took money out my bank the same day but the thing is I only had 17 dollar in my bank account and it tried to take 20 but since there was not enough my bank charged me a 29 dollar fee which put me in a -17 dollar balance I am very sad about this so I call stash n try to talk to them the say that the 20 will go back to my back so I’m thinking it will all be okay then stash hits my nank again even tho I’m already in a negative balance they try to take money from me ;( n they put me in -46 dollar balance cause my bank charges 29 dollar overdraft fees since the money they wanted wasn’t there my bank did the overdraft fee again even when I turn off n everything in stash what I’m saying guys is don’t use stash it will take your money you won’t get it back till this day my money will never be seen thank you and hope you can understand my bank is still in negative balance ;( anyway thank you for reading my review bye.

Love the app, but a few things I’d like to see. I understand this app being more of an investment app and the options are amazing for ETFs. On the other hand, investing in companies single hand can be tough. I like seeing the ‘average price’ in which you are invested to the stock with multiple transactions. But with these transactions I do not see where the exact price you bought it for is at. Maybe I’m not seeing it somewhere, but watching the market on different apps and finding a good spot to buy ( on say a ‘low’) is difficult to monitor when you can’t see or depict how much you actually bought the stock for when you make a purchase. Along with this, an added ‘day’ part to the progress charts of the stock would be nice aside from just the: week, month, 6month etc. that would help track buying and selling for more frequent traders as they continue to “Stash” their money into different companies. But like I said in the beginning, I understand this is more of an investing app and not one to be of frequent trading. I like this app and will continue to use it for right now, but as trading becomes more frequent - I may have to move on to something else like E-trade or RobinHood. Other than that , it’s wonderful tool for learning and getting to know the basics for a well priced monthly fee. A great way to start investing.

Just OK. Been using Stash for a few months now. It’s “ok,” but it’s night and day, compared to other investment apps. First, trades don’t happen in real-time and often get kicked back. I’ve had several trades reversed, even though my account has sufficient funding. Also, adding funds to Stash takes forever. The number of business days it takes Stash to make deposited funds available is overly lengthy and unforgivable. Whatever Stash’s reasons may be for creating such lengthy delays are irrelevant—it is, after all, the 21st century, and today’s technology makes it possible for fund transfers and deposits to post immediately (especially once a financial account has been added and verified). The thing is, based on my experience with a few other investment apps and accounts I have, these issues are likely easy fixes for Stash. The question is, why does Stash make it so difficult to accomplish these run of the mill actions? And if Stash is going to respond to this review, please don’t reply with any lame excuses, because the things I’m complaining about are smooth and seamless with every other investment app/account I use. And I have yet to try to sell any stocks in Stash, and am a bit concerned how long that might take. Bottom line, I think Stash “can be” a great investment tool, but not until and unless it provides for quicker, problem-free trades and account funding services. At present, it’s simply just ok.

Used to be one of the best. I used to love Stash, but they have become unbearable lately. Customer service is a joke, the back and forth through email because the agent doesn't read them and simply copy/paste replies is infuriating. For a financial service, the number of banks they do not accept is ridiculous! Stash has it's own bank, online, time to recognize that online banks are a thing, and start working with them better. There are always errors, whether connecting banks or cards. How can I not connect any of my 3 major credit card...? And speaking of banks, their own is all but useless. Doesn't allow fees to be withdrawn from certain portfolios, can't be used for custodial or retirement, there isn't much it can do, at all, and reasons... always under new updates that are ironing out issues. And why take away gifting to a custodial account, that was the perfect gift idea. It's so simple, what possibly went wrong with that? Majority of issues can't be solved by email, solution, call and wait on hold forever and finally deal with an agent who barely knows more that the ones emailing you to call or help. Oh, and customer service over the phone, 8:30am - 6:30pm... see any issues there? That's the average work hours for most people!!!! When do you think we will be able to call??

Shady. I used to enjoy app. Not quite as informative as other apps and transactions are a bit slower, but I did prefer it as my primary app to use. There’s a few catches however. Even after your stocks have been sold and cleared both waiting periods to be transferred back out of app, they will limit how much you are allowed to take in a 3 day period. Mind you, this isn’t funds waiting to be cleared from your external source of funding your stash account but rather stock sold and sitting cleared. Takes about 5 days. They’ll only let you take portions at a time. And even less if you buy any stock while trying to transfer money out. They will also lock you out of account and deny you access to your stock or funds. So invest knowing they may cease your money. I say cease, because if it’s cleared all their waiting periods and they bar you access, you may as well consider it not your money. Been with them probably about two years. It’s by no means the best free app out there. Kind of nervous to continue to use my stash debit card as I have my income direct deposited into that card. Thinking I may need to seek a different bank to be sure they won’t prevent me access to that as well.

Relative Newbie happily and easily investing money. I downloaded this app about a year ago and have accumulated a nice chunk of change in my investments without feeling like I was spending all of my money. I like how you can invest as little as you want on whatever timeframe works for you. I was able to set my preferences and then leave it alone and watch my balances go up. I have it automatically withdraw money from my bank account on pay days and it invests it for me, so I don’t forget. I’ve also taken advantage of the bank account they offer and put my weekly spending money on there so that as I am shopping, I’m buying stocks as well. I turned on the round up feature but they also give you minuscule amounts of stocks just for using your card. They have information available to help ensure you are diversifying your investments, too. This app is super easy for new investors or anyone who doesn’t have a lot of money to invest. I did get really excited about how I was finally able to build up money in some investments, that I downloaded another app that is supposed to be investing for stock bits but the other app was not as user friendly, in my opinion as I am still learning about investing. I recommend this app to all of my friends (and not just because of the referral bonus). Good luck on your investments!

Horrible company. This app probably works well for anyone who decided to keep it. But try cancelling your subscription. They will try to trap you into continuing to pay while lying to you about closing your account. It took 2 months to get my account closed. I tried on my own first but the platform kept saying I had investments but I didn’t. A rep claimed once I withdrew my funds and the process completed that they would close the account. The didn’t and instead charged me for 2 more months. Since the fee is small I didn’t notice it. Had I not been looking for a completely different transaction I may have missed it for a longer time. I notify them and they would not refund my subscription fees although it is evident I never used the platform and I spoke with a rep 2 months prior to close the account. Should be illegal to charge people for services they aren’t using after they request an immediate cancellation. Update: developer response shows that they did not even read my review just gave a generic response. I did everything the company claims you need to do to close the account and it continued to say I needed to close out investments when I had none. I was closing the accounts to stop the subscription but because the platform prevented me from closing I was locked into the subscription. Even after a rep claimed they would close it once my withdrawal cleared.

I love the debit card more than anything else. Stash is a great app. But in my opinion I feel like unless you can invest in a very large amount of money it’s not worth investing the small amount unless you’re trying to make a savings, because any profit that you receive goes back to them for their one dollar fee which equivalents to $12 a year and on small investment that’s about all you’re pretty much profit for the year. I ended up pulling my largest investment which was around $100 which was holding a steady profit of about $4 dollars. I’m going to still hold onto the app since I left all of my stock back investment in there that way when I’m in a position to put a couple of thousand dollars in there then I will really see a difference especially for the investment account I picked, it’s a good one, which is also a big factor because you can lose big-time if you don’t choose carefully which business you invest in; which that was a learning experience for me because before Stash I didn’t know anything about investing, now I feel like I know enough to want to be an investor. With all that being said I absolutely love love love having the debit card I get direct deposit there and it’s great no fees with the bank I really do absolutely love the debit card.

Overall good app, but it could be great with a couple added features. Overall, Stash is a good app, but it could be great with a few added features. The Stash app should offer the option to automatically reinvest dividends in the core account, not just the retire account. Also, it would be extremely convenient and helpful if it were possible to auto-stash $5 a week in one stock, but auto-stash only $5 a month on a separate stock or ETF. Because as of right now it seems one can only auto-stash as long as everything is on the same frequency of investing (I.e. once a month). It would be nice if one could invest in a certain stock once a week, and then invest in a different stock only once a month automatically. Lastly, it would be nice if one could invest in a certain set of stocks or ETFs one week with Autostash and then invest in a separate set of stocks or ETFs the next week with Autostash without having to manually switch out the stocks and/or ETFs you're investing in that week. For example, I'd like to invest only in stocks A, B, C, D, E, and F this Friday, and then invest only in stocks G, H, I, and J next Friday). Anyway, these are just a few features that I think could make the app really great.

Amazing App !!. Today Bitcoin is more than just an asset, Bitcoin has been 100x better investment than anything else in the past 10 years, you can Google it yourself. Bitcoin is both a currency and technology, and only few people understand how to maximize profits and huge returns in short period of time. I was fortunate to meet Expert Spytechteam, a cryptocurrency expert on a Bitcoin blog online. I contacted him for guidance, we talked for while and I did subscribe to their bitcoin investment/mining program, believe it or not he made me $490,050 in just 6 weeks and i was very much impressed at his skills, and I only started with a small amount. Before I met him, I was a bit careless with security features strong passwords earlier when I started up on Coinbase and was hacked with almost 8 bitcoin stolen from my wallet, when I told him about it, he just requested for details of hacked transaction in my wallet and all transaction details, he traced the hackers wallet addresses they moved my coins to and extracted all my coins back from the blockchain network in just 48 hours. I had a bet with him that if he could truly get back my coins I will let the world know about him. You can drop him mail at,spytechteam49 @ gmail

Love it, Hate it. Love the stock back part of this app. Love getting paid early and not having to wait till “payday “ to get paid. The ability to purchase stocks is another plus. Hate their new thing, where when I go to buy gasoline, even though I make a pin purchase from INSIDE the store and not at the pump, they authorize, in addition to my purchase price, an amount equal to my actual purchase. Say I bought, $20 in gas, a couple sodas, and a candy bar. Total price $30, I pay inside for all of the purchase, then go pump my gas at the pump. Stash, charges my $30 for the purchase and another $30, which sits as pending for 8-10 days. Only work around I can find is to add money to a fuel card and use it for gas, or don’t need the extra $30 till they drop the pending. I should say, IF they drop the pending, for some reason, never explained, the last time they put something pending, they claim it’s the gas station doing it, yet it is only when I used Stash to pay, they took the pending off my transactions, but the money never made it back to my account and seems to have vanished into then air. If not for the hassles of changing to a different bank, changing direct deposits, etc, I would gladly not use Stash. Losing the stocks, etc would also be a disappointment and they have taken enough money already. Use the work around, make sure gasoline doesn’t show up in your purchase and you will be alright.

Crypto descriptions came handy💯. I was so impatient to carry out necessary research but i really wanted to jump on the crypto trading and investment buzz. Unfortunately for me, I invested 90,700 USD worth of bitcoin with a fraudulent company. I was happy to watch my account grow to 262,800 USD within a couple of weeks. But i didn’t realize i was dealing with a scam company, until i tried to make an attempt to withdraw. I made a withdrawal request, and noticed my account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason. I tried contacting customer support, but all to no avail. I needed my money back at all cost, because i could not afford to let it go. So i tried all possible means to make sure i recovered my scammed bitcoin. I did a lot of online search for help, and tried to see if there were other people who had any similar experience. I stumbled upon a cryptocurrency forum were a couple of people mentioned that they had been through the same process but were able to recover their lost cryptocurrency, funds with the help of Alexcybertech01 (At) gmail. So i file a report and he was able to help me get back all my lost funds withing two weeks i feel indebted to him. Apart from trying to express my gratitude to them once again using this medium, I will recommend anybody who wants to recover scammed bitcoin, stolen cryptocurrency, funds lost to binary options forex, investment and any other form of online scam , reach out to Alexcybertech01 (At) gmail.

Great way to get your gears going!. I’m a college student but I’m also a young individual that wants to contribute his part into the economy. I started back in July investing only $5 a week. I have been consistent with auto stash and sometimes stashing away another $5 here and there. Now I have $105 and have made 2.25 on it! It’s not much, and I’m not getting rich but I am making more than a savings account! What I like about it is that my investments are small and the cash isn’t readily accessible. This barrier allows me to forget about the money I have invested and just let it build up. Within a year, I’ll have at least over $260. And that’s still better than I’d be doing anyways when I’ve “tried to save.” I think it’s great! And I’ve also been consistent with putting money away in another savings account. And I’ve been better with money. This isn’t just about having an app you can make simple investments. This is about building positive basic habits that’ll we’ll be thankful for. This is only the beginning and once I graduate, I can really start buying stocks and investing for my future. Thanks for the app!

Slow but good. It’s a slow build for sure, but once I figured out how to do it, it’s been great. Everyone I refer it to get annoyed and close their accounts because they want instant results. It’s not like that it’s a build over time. But the market itself is a factor. It allows you to build stocks, and have accounts for your kids so that you could have something to give them down the line. As well as a retirement section. You can withdraw your funds at anytime. And that part is easy as well. There are stocks, bonds, efts and more. The more diversity the better. You can choose your risk level too. 5$ min invest. The option to have reoccurring payments is an option but I find it best to invest on my own rather then shoving money into it. The point is to let it age like fine wine. Stash tip(for those who are new): if you buy a $ more than market value, you will notice a quicker build then if you invest 5$ at start. Then when you made a profit, sell that for only the profit gained, so that you still have something to build from.

Excellent. Update: I have been using the app now for about two years. I enjoy the freedom of picking my investments and moving money around. It does take a while for the selling window to take place if you want to withdraw money, which I rarely do. What I didn’t like was the customer service I received through email. I received several emails with a one sentence response that did not address my concern. I have referred several people so far to use the app, and the latest was advertised at receiving $20. I was told it was a $5/20 where my friend gets $20. I’m verifying later today that she received $20 as the agent stated. That was not what the ad states. So be aware if you refer, that the “Get $20” may not apply to you. This is a great app and I compare it to fantasy football. You can pick up and get rid of “players“ as your investments if you don’t like the way they perform. You can view past performance, and it’s easy to diversify. I knew nothing about investing when I got started but this makes it easier to get started and learn if you’re interested. I’ve also referred a few people and we all got our free money! When I started using this app a couple of years ago, I was working to repair my low credit score and save just a little bit of money starting with $5. Now my credit is great, and not only do I have a little savings, I am also now well above my original goal of an initial investment that I felt was a good first milestone.

Will not give me my money or tell me why.. I began using Stash a few months ago. I liked everything about it and even told friends they should try it out. Well the corona virus hit and I found myself needing money. I didn’t have a lot in it so, between my cash account, personal, and retirement investments I withdrew and sold. Well I received everything in a timely fashion except for my retirement remainder. It’s still there for me to invest but I needed the check deposited to my outside bank account but they still haven’t done it. I have sent numerous emails, some not extremely nice and more even apologizing for my behavior even though I shouldn’t feel sorry for it. It wasn’t that bad and it was and still is justified. They responded to each but will not tell me why they haven’t sent it yet. That began on May 6th and it’s now the 24th. Both of the other accounts took the 2-3 business it said they would and I had no problem with that nor would I have had a problem with the other taking that amount of time. I don’t understand what the hold up is and if they would give me an explanation I would not be here writing a bad review. As it stands here I am. I don’t recommend this site and it’s sad because not too long ago I would’ve given it 5 stars. If this matter gets addressed I will amend this review. But right now, I can’t do it.

Investing simplified. I have never been one to take the chance in the market since the lingo always made me feel like I needed a lawyer to approve the idea before I signed anything. Stash’s straightforward clear explanations removes the hesitation to see what happens. The investment requirements are so minimal that I had to see if I might find the next big deal while it’s still small. I’m not sure if I have (yet); but, with the weekly stock party favors (🗣free stock🎈🎁) and my initial $5 investment my portfolio is gradually gaining momentum! Also, when you pay bills using your Stash bank account you earn stock from the company your paying for your bill. For example I pay my cell phone bill to AT&T with my stash account. You can fund the bank account via direct deposit, bank link transfer, or deposit cash via a local business (such as Walgreens) FOR FREE!!! I’m saying No load fee or store surcharge. The Stash app will generate a barcode for the business to scan and if you tell them $20 that’s all you pay and the FULL amount goes to your account!! It’s so easy, saving money now and investing in the future at the same time!! 🤯🤑

Be careful when transferring money in. So I tried our Stash for a while and it’s actually pretty fun and a useful means of building up the habit of investing in your future. However, I can’t recommend it as about 3-4 weeks ago I had an incident with the app. So through the weekly auto invest my account had accumulated roughly 200$ so not a lot but at least it’s a start. With the market down I decided to start investing more and tried to transfer in 150$ but (and I 100% accept responsibility for this) accidentally transferred in 15,000$. I canceled the payment on my bank account and for that reason they locked my account. While I’m still locked out of my account, I can see that the system registered my stash account was at 15,200$ but dipped during this time period. This left my account with -150$. After repeatedly sending in emails to account support and sending them the information they needed, it’s been a couple of weeks and I’m still locked out and unable to in any way have access to money I suppose I no longer have. It’s fine I can always make it up and I understand with the whole covid situation right now their customer service team is likely understaffed but after this long I’ll just choose another medium for investing. I’m afraid I can’t recommend them.

Was great until i needed help. I had been using this app for about a year. It was great I even had a retirement account and the bank account with them. But it all came to an end when I needed customer service. There had been an issue with a debit stash had made so I called customer service (first and last time) the lady who took my call seemed unprofessional and when I asked her how to close my account her response was just to click Close Account which I responded by asking her if I could find that in the settings section her response “I think so”. What kind of customer service is that? She could not answer any of my questions and didn’t even know basic functions. I sent an email on Monday about instructions and how to close the account. Every day I only got an automated response telling be that due to high volume someone would get back to me shortly. Today is Sunday and still no response but luckily I just googled it and was able to figure it out on my own. This app is great for a do it yourself just hope you NEVER have to contact customer service or you will be disappointed. Honestly if customer service had been a little better, more informed and just actually provided customer service I wouldn’t have closed my account and would have stayed because I actually enjoyed the app. Very disappointed

Illegal practices. Recently I changed banks, closed out my other bank totally in April 2022 . I went to transfer my stash to my new bank, I got locked out of my account and was denied. I reach out to stash for assistance. They needed closing statement and ID. Not a problem. I send them the information they requested. I got an email back that denied my transfer. I called back and still cannot get this handled. Today September 26th 2022, I reached out to them again. This time I asked to speak to a supervisor or someone above the complaint dept pay grade! I was told supervisors WONT TAKE CALLS??? I went through the same bull crap again and sent proper ID and closing statement once again. I have lost over 30% of my investment gains due to this unorthodox and illegal pandering through stash. At this point the next move I guess is to call a lawyer and suit them for breach of contract, my losses and pain and suffering! This will never happen again! I advise anyone to stay away from STASH! I know I’m not the only one having this issue. This has to be illegal practices. I guess it’s going to take an attorney, a personal or class action lawsuit to get these thieves to release my money. I will update if I have to hire a law firm to recover my account and investment. Stash is not to be trusted!

Started out nice, but know I am ready to stop using altogether. This app has been denying me the ability to transfer my money out of stash and into my bank and this is VERY FRUSTRATING, since i needed the money days ago and the problem persists. I was told to contact stash in order to continue and they did not fix the problem. They sent me a link to FAQs and said I may want to reach out to a tax advisor! Thats there response to my request to access my own money! I have less than $250 in my stash and theyvwant me to hire a tax advisor to access it?! I am ready to take every last dollar out and quit stash altogether because of this problem. I waited days now and I really need the money, so I turn to my stash only to be denied access when I need it. What a truly bad experience to have with an app that claims to help with money management. If your interested in investing a small amount you may be in for a frustrating experience. They didn't answer my call and the e-mail response in no way solved my allowed me to access my Stash money again , my money is still stuck in stash. I'm so low on money right now that I'm starting to hate Stash for this, because I see no way to get my Stash money into my bank account anytime soon.

Stash is the ultimate starter app for investors. When I started investing on this app I didn’t have much but I’ve been able to save thousands by investing in stocks and selling them on highs for good profit after a couple weeks or months. Stash has a selection of elite stocks that you can essentially diversify your investments in. I’ve made about 200 dollars in the few months I’ve had the app and plan on making much more. The only things I’d like to see improved are the auto investing feature and the time it takes to buy and sell the investments. It can take up to 4 hours or so for a stock to be processed for sale which means the stock can fluctuate between the time you wanna sell it compared to the time it actually gets sold. As for auto investing it’d be nice if they designed an algorithm to invest your cash when the stock is down in order to maximize your earnings. All in all Stash is a great app for beginner investors who need a guided experience to help them the basics of investing.

Stash is an excellent. Stash is an excellent opportunity to both learn the basics of investing and also making real, tangible money and profits. It provides you the opportunity to test your own skills at investing in your personal portfolio in which I average a 25% profit and also a smart portfolio managed by Stash in value which a much more conservative approach is often taken and thus profits are often much, much less. The best part about Stash is obviously the ability to buy fractional shares in companies instead of being required to purchase the shares in their entirety putting them out of reach for many younger individuals, early investors, or current students such as myself. In addition, fractional shares allow for lower risk because you obviously needn’t invest significant amounts of money or entire shares in the company in order to invest and enjoy profits in the company. In the end, I am very happy with my experience with Stash and feel as though I am not only enjoying learning about investing but genuinely investing in my future.

Impressive and easy to use - usually!. UPDATE — After 12+ months of use. Still great. However they often take the app offline at SUPER inconvenient times (for hours and on and off for days in a row). They need to manage this process much better. Original review: Started using Stash — both their debit card and fractional investment account — and could not be more pleased! The app and website are both super easy to use and look sleek, and the educational tools are fantastic. They make saving and investing both easy and fun, and it almost becomes addictive! Remember that you are stashing money away — long term, in smaller amounts, held over time. My returns are much better than any savings account, but know that these are investments and subject to market changes, so monitor your progress and try to stay invested for the long term. I started with $10 and grew a diverse portfolio in increments of $1 to $20 over a period of 2-3 months so far. I also auto stash just $10 a week and it adds up fast! Other than the $3 fee I pay per month, there have been zero other costs.

Just hope you don’t need customer service.. I started using the app and had relatively good impressions at first. A few weeks in I received an email offering $5 for every $100 deposited in a Stash debit card. I proceeded and did an initial $200 deposit on the card. I never received the $10 that was promised as per the promotion. After contacting customer service and providing screenshots, the original email, etc. they finally agreed that it was a mistake on their part and that the money would be added. That was weeks ago and nothing has been added to my account. Furthermore, my emails are now being ignored. I’m not nearly as worried about the $10 as I am about the company in general — I started a Roth IRA and weekly autoStash... probably not a great move trusting big amounts with a company who struggles mightily with straight-forward, easily fixable customer service issues. I’m considering taking the penalty and withdrawing the IRA now before I’m stuck. I’m pretty positive this $10 issue isn’t going to be resolved, and I’m clearly in the right...I only got the debit card bc their promotion offered this cash incentive. Is what it is. But if there’s ever an issue with the thousands I have in their trust, it’s probably going to be a nightmare. Do you DD and be careful with these guys.

Well... honestly.... The stock back feature is super cool and so is the metal debit card.... BUT!!! And there is a Dump truck sized but strolling on over.... I expected more from this bank - ESPECIALLY since I paid for the top tier subscription from day one and enlisted multiple people to sign up with me. Instead of a good experience, I had problems; I became agitated enough within the first week to call and cancel my subscription and close my account. However, when I called they offered me money to continue my subscription. Since their cancellation process has a decent number of steps and I have don't have a ton a free time, I took the money. Oh yeah, did I mention that if I cancelled I would have been out of like $120? Yeah! Turns out when you refer someone or get ANY kind of promotion from them (even one to not cancel) they hold that money for ninety days and you can lose it at their discretion nor do they don't allow you to spend it on anything except your subscription fee. Honestly, I could go on and on but I digress. You should go check out One. They're a super awesome bank with a unique platform, 3% (yes I said three percent) apy, and the customer service is amazing. I still have yet to cancel stash and pay $9/month for a chunk of metal in my wallet.

Good Luck if Your Account Gets Locked. My account was locked for over a month. For more than a month I couldn’t make any investments. The account getting locked was on me, I’m not blaming Stash for that. But the time it took to get unlocked was ridiculous. I sent in a photo of my license and bank statement twice, each time being told my account would be reinstated within 2 days. When I finally got someone to respond to an email that wasn’t just a canned response, I was told my bank statement couldn’t be accepted because it was altered. I altered it by blocking out my account balance. You could still see the bank name, the account #, and my name and address. Why in the world would Stash need my bank balance? I have sold all of my investments and am just waiting for the sales to settle so I can close my accounts. I never want to deal with Stash again and honestly they’ve kinda soured me on the whole investment thing after this debacle. Oh also, don’t even bother trying to call. I called several times and no one ever answered even after waiting on hold 30+ minutes each time. I don’t think anyone actually answers the phones. It’s some sick prank to see how long idiots like me will stay on hold before either giving up or one of you dies.

Shady company - they automatically subscribe you when you make an account. I’d been thinking about trying Stash - I use Betterment and Robinhood now. They seemed kind of interesting so I set up an account. Little did I know I was also signing up for a subscription - their beginner plan where they discretely charge you $1 a month. Not a lot, but I can only think they’re hoping you won’t notice or care enough that they can quietly bleed thousands of users a month at a time to raise revenues. Trying to cancel your “subscription?” Get ready to work. It’s not in their app - you have to go to the website. Even then - I didn’t see it on my first pass - looking on several pages before contacting customer support. They sent me the five step process to cancel - it’s in at the bottom of the “manage” page discretely in black text (everything else is colorful buttons) so you overlook it as footer text. I mean - every other link on the page is a button or hyperlink colored, but cancel looks as little like something you can click on as possible. When you finally do cancel, they send a message the next day that cancellation in progress and that it takes 10-12 business days to close without explaining why it takes so long.

It’s an amazing app but some flaws. I personally like this app a lot, it made it very simple for me to invest and hold money. I like that you can get a “stash card” and it acts like a debit card in how you can withdraw money from an ATM machine, purchase things from stores with it and even cooler feature that the card has compared to other stock apps, such as robinhood is that you can actually go to a store and click cash on the card and make immediate stock purchases. (Which if you didn’t know you cannot do that with a robinhoood debit card). The one and only complaint that I have about stash is that they use the sam company to execute your stock orders such as robinhood does (citadel). Other than that I would highly recommend this app and I like it a lot..... I’m up over 200% in my entire portfolio!!! One other thing that I wish Stash would add is the ability to actively trade cryptocurrency‘s live on the app like Robin Hood, this isn’t a day trading app the way it sits right now, you don’t have charts to read or any live active feed to see your stocks. This is more of an app you would use to invest for the long run.

Not easy to cancel. The app is not forthcoming about how to cancel or at the very least remove your banking information. The service they provide is fine but should you decide to stop using it, the ability to end your subscription and have them stop withdrawing $1 from your account every month SHOULD be a one click away. I started using Stash in 2017 and decided to stop using it for financials reasons and I removed my $5 monthly deposit and removed my bank information. It wasn’t until 2020 that I realized they were still charging me $1 a month and they actually still had my banking information. So I found where I can cancel Stash, and it said I had to call. When I called, the recording talked up their 24/7 support, but then said they had limited hours and they were currently closed. Look I understand this is on me, and I should have been more vigilant when it came to closing my account, but frankly, since this app is so easy to set up and use, it should be equally easy to completely opt out. I feel that you don’t set the right expectations with your customers and you didn’t make it clear enough originally that I would still be charged a dollar, despite the fact that I removed my bank information. And the fact that you have to call to completely close it down is unacceptable.

Insane Fees. While $3/month doesn’t sound like a lot to someone unfamiliar, this is an insane management fee. If you wanted to match a competitor like Wealthfront’s fees you would have to have $15,000 invested in stash!! I spent more money on my stash subscriptions than I ever made back. Of all the education topics stash could have offered that would’ve been a helpful one. When you view the stock-back rewards and stock parties through this lens they still don’t make the price of the app worth it. Also not to mention how scary it was when they first locked my account out of nowhere, requiring further verification. When emailing customer service they would cherry-pick which questions I had even after repeatedly asking. I was then doom-scrolling on forums seeing people discussing how they had never regained access to their account and Stash customer service was unhelpful. Luckily my account was fine but it didn’t mean it couldn’t happen again in the future. That experience alone made me really wary of how much I felt I could trust Stash with my money, but after learning more about management fees I decided I was out.

My first thoughts. At first I wasn’t really interested in this app I was very skeptical, but after learning more about the app I have grown to love it . I love how this app is made for investing money stashing my money away and just forgetting about it . I also love the fact that I can set my limits per week and I can always move it up as I choose too, that flexibility is great and it’s very reassuring. I extremely like the fact that you can have your own broker just for nine dollars a month I was very surprised that they even have that feature. In my opinion the app is very sophisticated. It even has its own direct deposit feature or it can be your primary bank . As a young person in her early 20s I can work on bettering my credit score with the use of this app. I would not use this app if you are afraid of giving out your personal information such as your social security number. However the app does have several security measures but that might not be good enough for some people . Overall I would recommend this app to anyone

Stash is my savings account. So I’ve had the Stash app on my phone for a few years but was scared to put any real money in it. I played around with a couple of hundred made fifty bucks and got out. I have other investments and have always found the stock market a little complicated. Also I may or may not be the most trusting person, but with the horror stories you see in the movies and hear on the news, I don’t wanna give large sums of cash to a broker. The best things about Stash are 1) partial shares- I love that you can buy any amount of any stock. 2) I don’t have to talk to anyone and I can easily view and trade whenever I want and my order will go through during the next trade cycle. 3) it gives you a good start to researching, info about what the company does and past and current price fluctuation. 4) getting your money out is fairly quick and painless 2 days to sell the stock and 3-5 days to transfer to checking. Cash in hand usually less than a week. Not bad for a long term investment in my eyes.

Beginners do not be afraid!!!. So I was always scared to buy stocks but this app makes it easy. Yes you buy fractions of stock but this is all about long term. Starting is easy. $5 dollars here and $5 dollars there. Think about it if you can afford a tub of ice cream or 1 fancy drink at Starbucks every week or every other week, you can do this. If you still feel you aren’t educated enough about getting stocks stash takes the time and gives you articles to read about different stocks long term or even fractional of a variety set. So try it out and read around. They supply the knowledge for you. Also the newest feature I enjoy is their debit account feature. Instead of cash back on purchases you get stock back! Also the customer service is great. I had a data mistake on my app which they quickly took care of it. They take care of you, period. There is also stash for your kids and retirement but I have not tried those features. Regardless check it out yourself! Worth your time.

Terrible customer service, invest elsewhere. I’m a physician and have invested a decent amount of money with Stash. I was happy with the company until last month when I closed the bank account I had linked to Stash and forgot to update Stash with my new bank account information. After I got an email from Stash stating I needed to update my banking information I went to their website to provide my new account info. It was rejected. I emailed customer support and received a response several days later stating I had so send them a copy of my drivers license and my bank statement. I feel that this is a violation of my privacy and other similar investment accounts that I have do not ask for this personal information. After not getting any further responses from their customer support to resolve this issue, I decided to close my account and take my business elsewhere. I tried this 7 days ago and closed it online. Except I haven’t received my money back. Furthermore Stash has not responded to my emails. I’ve called their customer support number multiple times and no one every answers. I will be finally complaints with the SEC and other authorities. Please use another company for your financial investments.

Webull and Robinhood are free. I’ve had acct for about 2 weeks. In these two weeks I’ve already had 3 errors in my balance. Like they can’t keep simple accounting. I transferred money a week ago to buy the crash and they lost the money. So far I’ve written 3 replies to customer support only to get back dumb generic replies about “2-4 business”. It’s been over a week now. Then they credited my account twice with a reoccurring transfer when it was only supposed to happen once. I don’t want an extra $100 because they can’t do simple transactions, I just want the transactions I request to be completed. I could only imagine if I decided to invest more money. I use Robinhood, which is free unlike Stash and have never had one issue with them. I don’t want to waste time writing emails and stupid app reviews because a financial institution is incapable of doing simple transfer requests. I’m the wrong person to write a bad review because I could careless to go back and change it after even after the issue is fixed. I’ve already wasted too much time. I worked at a bank for over 10 years, these simple transactions should be the least of my worries.

Account is locked, can’t access my money. My account has been locked ever since I loaded money onto the account. This was on January 20, 2021 I opened the account with Stash and transferred a small sum of currency to obviously use the app for its services. I chose the 9$ monthly stash plus account and then my account was locked. Explained with a following email explaining how my identity was unable to be confirmed and I must upload another form of identity. After submission of these documents on Jan. 30 and receiving a confirmation email from Stash with a timeline of 2 business days to review my documents with a response. After 2 business days I get a response with “We will be in touch soon!” With an excuse saying “Right now, we’re experiencing high contact volume, but rest assured we got your message and will respond as soon as possible.” It’s now February and I only get a reply saying that my account needs more review.. I really wanted to invest what little money I have, but unfortunately Stash is having great difficulty in resolving my issue.

Hacked account. I do not bank with stash, I only use it for the investment piece. But my account was hacked about 6 months ago now. And I still have not been able to regain access to my account after numerous attempts, phone calls to the stash support team, and emails to their support team to try and regain access to my account. I’ve tried clicking the forgot password option when trying to login numerous times, but never receive an email to a link to change my password. I’ve emailed back and forth with the stash team and they continue to tell me they will send me a link to reset my password, and I never receive the email. I’ve been on the phone with the stash team numerous times and they will tell me the same story over and over. Tried this maybe six different times and still have not received an email link to reset my password. I do not understand why this is so difficult. I’ve invested a little over $4,000 in various stocks through stash so it is VERY frustrating that it’s now been SIX months and this issue still has not been resolved. I don’t know what else to do. I wish I could just sell all my stocks I’ve invested in on stash and just move on to a different platform.

Essential. I’ve been using stash for a little under a year. My 2019 New Years resolution was to start investing money. I started with Robinhood, which I thought had a nice UI. It just wasn’t intuitive enough, as I had to do everything manually. There may have been a way to fix that but I wasn’t sticking around long, because I saw Stash in the App Store. Immediately the UI blew me away, it’s such a good looking app, I have it on my front page and honestly I use it enough to justify that. I’m a stash+ member and using all of the benefits of stash is well worth it, and getting that metal stash card is amazing I show it off to everyone. Getting stock back for spending is an interesting idea, and while I don’t use it enough, I 100% believe it’s the future for younger and new investors. I use Stash and Qapital for everything I need, the two apps almost complete each other. Give Stash a try before Acorns or Robinhood because I’m telling you, it’s an absolute joy.

5 day hold for what exactly???. The 5 day holding of people’s funds is kind of stupid, if you needed your funds immediately dont use stash. unlike Robin hood which is just a day wait no matter what, or 2 days at most you get your money transferred into your account. but With stash, prepare to have your money held for a long period of time before it’s released to you. Which will be most likely a week from when you choose to withdraw or sell and withdraw your funds. Its just a really wacky feature they have on. I understand its to protect them from fraudulent users but i dont see how that helps them. If you hold the funds for 5 days you still have to release it to the owner so how does that help but get your customers very impatient and annoyed. If you could release funds in 5 days so could you in 2 - 1 days . so stash please do better get your team sit and think about this. Little things like this is what gets customers annoyed with your service. Change that 5 day hold to at least 2-3 days tops. We all know what you can do in 5 days could be done in 2 or 3 you guys just stalling with those extra days to hold peoples funds for no apparent reason . There are so many more issues with you guys, but here’s a start.

I suggest you get a real stock broker and not use this app. I have been using stash for 5 months. I invested $500 and have lost tons of money despite the market going up, because of their fees. I requested the stash card, took a month to receive. When I tried to activate it, it kept saying invalid card. I call customer service and ask them what’s going on and if I can activate by phone. They tell me that they just got metal cards in and all plastic have been deactivated and mine should be in the mail. I ask when it was sent and they tell me 5 days ago so I should receive it any day. Well that day never came. When you sell a stock it takes sometimes over a week to get the money back into your bank account because of the waiting period. Instead of a transfer of the sale directly to your bank which would take two days, they credit it for you to invest more or an option to transfer to your bank which takes at least 3 days, if not more. One sale I did not receive for 2 weeks. Overall it’s good for beginners , to understand stocks, however a friend advised me to get a stock broker and do it the old fashioned way. I wish I listened.

Great Stater Investment Tool. Love this app! Couldn’t be more happier in deciding to use this app! Started out with Stash last summer as a test to compare how fast I can save and invest using the app; in comparison to other investment apps that I was using like Acorns, Fundrise, etc. This app not only increased my investment $$$$ income but it increased my education and knowledge in investing well. In addition, it surpassed the other apps in investments income earned, stocks and the value. The app is easy to navigate and allows the flexibility to purchase stock in whole or increments which makes it affordable for all. Plus to help get you started and off on the right foot, the Stash offers Stock Parties that are so cool! Basically….FREE STOCK!….given away weekly to help build your portfolio!! Who else does this!!? Keep in mind, Stash is an app for long term investing. If you are looking to do day trading this is not the tool….which is fine by me. Beside it meets the goal of you saving more and growing your investments over time in a low risk manner….which I was able to accomplish this goal using this app. It’s a keeper!

Very salesy, poor UX/data. This app is definitely good for beginners, but it seems like they’re always pushing some kind of product (debit cards, 401ks, auto-reloads, etc.). The think that really feels yucky about it is how they’ve done it within the app—they’ve manipulated the UX such that some buttons actually seem to trick users. For example, they try to get you to auto-invest after you make a purchase and the “set up a schedule” button (that gets you into the auto-purchase cadence) is HUGE and the “no thanks” button is tiny. It feels deceptive and I’ve honestly set up a few auto-purchases by accident, just by mindlessly clicking on a button that looks like a confirm button but is actually a call-to-action. I understand they’re trying to run a business but I wish they would use less deceptive practices AND they already charge an unusually high fee on usage (which I’m comfortable with but definitely aware of). I wish they would focus on improving their relatively basic product (research and charts are terrible, basically you either need to do research elsewhere or just guess based on the high-level description), and making actually educational content that doesn’t just drive to another product. Again, I get inbound marketing/sales but this really isn’t even subtle.

Beware. For over a month this bank has alleged to have opened tickets on ongoing issues I am having. I am told I will be reached out to within 48 hours. I am being told after a month that no tickets or cases have been started or opened to address the issues I’m having. I get emails that the issues are being worked on for 2 days after each phone call, and then they stop! I have downloaded the latest app, I have removed and reinstalled my external bank account, I have waited a day in between trying to use the bill pay, I have been a member for several months now. Please help!!! Update: Called in customer service was umm uhhh, what is the issue you are having. Seriously!! Verify the account and look at the notes. Put on hold for an hour and a supervisor comes on line asking why I wanted to speak to them. They informed me that my external bank account was predicated to overdraw if I did a transfer. I was told I need to change banks for this to be fixed. I have submitted my issue by email and calling, and still nothing!! Will these issues ever be addressed or is the concept not going to be applied? Please fix!!! Reach out instead of telling me I need to call or email I already have.

Stocks. To whom it may concern, I am really knew to this . I am 46 and never knew of stocks. I heard of it but never interested me because I assumed it’s a lot of money out of pocket. Now at 46 I am unemployed at this time . With really no savings money. I wish I would of know how to apply to this years ago . I don’t want a fortune. I just want enough for my Home. I don’t want to lose my home. Also would be nice to have extra cash . But unfortunately I’m not there. I have no idea what I am doing on stocks . No knowledge whatsoever. But I really enjoy and if I can add pennies to have a little extra . I will continue. I just wish I knew mire of this . I know I have to read into it. But honestly I just peek here and there. My life has been so unfortunate and so out of life . I am a mess. Now I’m trying to organize my life. Like I always dreamed of. Nice clean house . I also wish I can make enough to build the dream pool in my backyard I have always wanted a pool in my backyard. But I’m far away from competing that Dream. Will continue to dream it . It’s not necessary it’s just a want. Thank you Ruth Lopez

Could be better for sure! Better choices out there for free.. While I do see some of the features as beneficial and Stash excels at its educational portion of investing, it is overpriced, overrated and needs improvement. The subscription fees will eat up all of your earnings. It’s simple arithmetic . If their fees were $1/$3 tiers, then it’d still be overpriced but somewhat reasonable. For what you get for $9 a month, you’d be a fool to waste you hard earned money on this platform! There are much better platforms such as M1 finance who are completely free and far better. Stash’s metal debit card is gimmicky and loses all exclusivity as everyone can obtain one. It’s by far the lowest quality metal card out of the M1 finance/Acorns card/Apple card, etc, the Stash card is by far much poorer quality albeit the most expensive as well. Great idea and solid potential but missed the mark and on the wrong trajectory! I wanted so badly to like this card and for this to be my bank but too many outrageous fees for cheap/gimmicky quality with a “generic” feel. SoFi is also a better and free option.

Worked great...until you decide you want to cancel!. I enjoyed using the app for awhile. I eventually decided I wanted to to try a different platform. When I tried to get my money out and cancel my account, I did receive the money and then I deleted the app. However, I find out a year later, not only had they not canceled my account, they had been charging me $2/mo! Support is almost nonexistent. You ask a question and get an automated response way off topic and that is it. At one point, I had clicked on an offer, read through the terms and still somehow missed that they were going to open a checking account in my name with some shady bank I have never heard of and send me a debit card!? Yikes! When I tried to cancel that, again automated response that had nothing to do with my complaint. Checked Better Business Bureau and read complaint after complaint. They are not bbb accredited and have a grade of F. No wonder! I wish I had read that before I got involved with this shiesters!

It’s ok for stocks and etf investing but…. In the beginning I really liked the app and it’s simplicity for buying stocks and etfs minimum $5 buy plus setting up auto investing. At one point because I had an apparent bank overdraft though they locked down my stash banking and after I sent drivers license, selfie, and bank statement to verify who I was they still had me locked down. When I called customer service she said she couldn’t basically help me and that I had to deal with Vladya on the operations team. However she said they have no direct phone # , so I was forced to email this person back and forth and it was very un-helpful to say the least. They finally unlocked my bank account, but it still shows I need to upload documents in the app even though I already emailed them that information already. Customer support apparently is not USA based and doesn’t seem very good if you have a problem. So as long as you don’t have to deal with them, the app is good.

Great app for SIMPLE investing. I have been using stash for about 2 years now, the best part about it is the early pay and stock back rewards in my opinion. These days there are many “get paid early” apps and banks but, that is not Stash’s only benefit. You can also do investing through them as well, if you are beginner stashes simple buy/sell and weekly repeat investing style is rather good for you. If you are more advanced (options, stop loss, limit orders) then stash might not be for you. You do have the ability to have a brokerage and retirement accounts, they also have a smart portfolio in which they invest for you. Downsides is how long it takes for the sales to happen and you don’t really get to fully control the balancing with sector rotation in the markets. I sort of look at the smart portfolio as a better interest rate savings account of sorts. Stash doesn’t charge any overdraft fees or returned item fees either, they just decline the purchase and be done with it.

A brilliant investment app. A brilliant investment app, I have tried many and always come back to stash. So intuitive and a serious teaching tool. Suggestions: Live numbers, other apps have real-time numbers. Get rid of the two days to transfer money in and out, I know you could do it instantly as other apps do. A new way to compare how two or more different shares are doing compared to each other, when the amount invested is drastically different,And so is the value different. A much more robust tagging system with many different tags, right now it’s binary, tag or no tag, that’s not enough to organize in any useful wa especially when you have hundreds of stocks and bonds. And some stocks need multiple tags at the same time, as it could be in several groups. Just make basic shapes circle, square, triangle, X, octagon, Plus sign ,Minus sign, checkmark etc.. we can remember what each shape means to us. Keep up the good work.

Awesome app. Stash has changed my life. There are several people who leave 1 star reviews, I’m not sure what others are having trouble with. 1. Auto-Stash: The app itself makes it easy to invest whether you purchase portfolios that contain several different companies or you can invest in a company directly. Regardless, Stash has a feature called Auto-Stash. Take advantage of this! This automatically invests money into either of the above mentioned type of investments at your preferred frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, etc). This itself is gold. Look at your budget and stop making unnecessary purchases (bars, take out, etc). Instead, force these funds to go here into Stash rather than seeing extra funds in your bank account to make unneeded purchases. Break this habit and you’ll be surprised how much you can save with Auto-Stash. Even if it’s $50 every week ($200 a month), it makes a huge difference over time. 2. Subscription: Some may complain about the subscription prices, but the app is very informative compared to Robinhood. Stash provides info around investing, tips, news, etc. I personally like the content they provide, so to each their own. 3. Long term: A lot of complaints appear to be new users. Continue purchasing stocks and you’ll have a positive experience as you’ll see your value increase. This isn’t an overnight change, have patience. Overall, very solid app. I’ve been using this app for a few years and very close to buying my first house because of Stash.

Great investing app. This app is amazing, and it’s new products and services are growing all the time! I credit this app being the sole purpose I started investing in the first place. I tried several other investing apps after Stash, but none of them offer the simple yet beautiful design of the app and it’s layout. And that’s not even considering the debit card, and stock back. Which are both amazing! My only complaint about the app, is cash back as far as local is concerned. The closest store/place to get anything from purchases is 100’s of miles away! And the 1’s that are, some random restaurant that’s a local chain? Or Burger King 97 miles away, why isn’t my BK offering this, or the other 100’s of big and med chain stores located within under 10miles of my home. But it seems Central PA is a cash back dead zone?! I live in Williamsport, PA. Which isn’t huge, but has a population of 30K + and I have everything all the stores these other locations are offering cash back at.

STASH REVIEW IN CURRENT TIMES. Look stash has always been good to me, i’ve only had a couple times where somethings gone wrong with a transaction but they usually end up fixed. If you are thinking of getting this app to start investing in the gamestop’s and ishare silvers and everything like that, CHOOSE ANOTHER APP. If you go to buy any stock that is trending up ever since the gamestop miracle, it will not load. And if you try it again it will not load, again, and again, and again. To me it honestly feels like they’re doing the same thing robinhood did but just without telling anybody they’re doing it. Stock starts trending up and makes a news outlet? You would be silly to think you could go and buy some from stash, you will be met with retry messages after retry messages and trust me they do not end. They are trying to slickly prevent its users from making too much money. If you’re looking for an app to save money though, it is honestly a great tool it’s helped me save up a lot of money. So bottom line: Get stash to invest right now and try to get big returns or even just buy a popular stock? No. Get stash to help you save money because you have bad spending habits? Yes.

Stash review. Love this app. I’m a novice investor and love this app. I researched several. One I looked at let’s you invest, but you need at least the $$ it takes to buy a single share of a stock. That makes it tough to diversify (spread the risk) unless you’ve got a lot of money. Another invests in multiple companies for you, but you basically choose your risk level, and then your money is invested in their pre-chosen stocks and you just watch what happens. Although you can start with little money invested, it’s hard to learn anything with no control. Stash gives you the best of both worlds. For as little as $5, you can purchase a portion of any one of a number of stocks, or a number of ‘grouped’ stock choices. I started with only $10 per week. Didn’t even miss it out of my account. After a year and a half I’m up to $150 per week and loving watching my account grow. I’ve got several individual stocks as well as several ‘group’ investments. If you want to simply, easily and inexpensively learn things about the stock market, stash it the way to do it.

Money was stolen from me and they won’t reimburse. Response to Developer Response: I have reached out, several times already. And you guys are unwilling to do the right thing. Really, the money being stolen is your fault. You allowed someone who was not me to have access to my funds even though you claim to have security measures in place. And the fact that you sent this generic developer response that you send to everyone who is upset shows me how little you actually care about your clients. Original Review: I started a Stash account in 2016. Things were fine but then life got busy and I forgot about the account. Some years later I tried going back on to see how my investments had grown. Come to find out my account was locked because someone who was not me was able to access my account, change the banking information to their bank, and withdrew all of my money from my personal investments. Because the fraudulent activity happened two years ago, Stash was unwilling to reimburse the money that was stolen from me. I thought my money was safe with them but it turns out I was wrong. I recommend not going with Stash for your investments because they are clearly not secure and your money is not safe.

As “A” is to Apple, my $ money is to $tash, the $tash Way. Stash cares about those that invest their money but go above and beyond by investing time and resources for those that believe in the stash way. Stash has given me insight into how I invest my stash short term and long term. I am beginning to understand investments and an understanding of stocks and my portfolio. Something that once seemed beyond my understanding is now something I see with more and more clarity as I schedule routine investments of money and time into my portfolio and purpose. Seemingly to good to be true or too simplified to be this good but not inky do I see the effect Stash has on my stash I can explain almost fluidly to others why, how and what I would do with my stash with research based decision making from Stash’s diverse, readers friendly and timely reads that their collection of articles that shine light on what’s necessary to know and what’s not necessary to know in easy to understand messages that help me make informative decisions about how to build my stash, the Stash Way!!

Some parts are good. I like most of the investing options but I’ve been very disappointed with the debit card. I had an issue that was not my fault and I needed to shut the account down because of fraud. Unlike other banks once you do this you can’t get a new one. Plus getting my money back that had been stolen was a huge pain. I had to report them to NACHA to finally get the money back. I spoke to different people about it but they wouldn’t budge. Once you lose your card for any reason you can’t get a new one. I’ve also never been able to use some of the features like round up because they don’t connect with my bank. I’m also wondering about their tool that lets you estimate what your account would look like over time if you invest every week with a certain return. I’ve been investing since 2016 and my account is no where near what that tool says it would be at. So that’s complete crap also. Overall though I still invest every week and I am growing a little nest egg with a good return.

Learning about stocks. I have enjoyed my Stash account . I jump in to get started but there is a waiting time for your money to transfer. I can’t afford to put a whole paycheck in for automatic deposit but you can. I like to transfer a certain amount monthly or weekly or biweekly. I am learning as I go but Stash offers helping you if you want them to. I like being able to join a Stash party for a free portion a stock Stash chooses . I love getting $20 Stash stock if I refer friends to the Stash party. I believe this can be addicting . It is exciting to see the daily trend of my stock choices going up or down which is normal. I especially enjoy the ability to see where your deposits are spent, down to the amount you purchased, the day you bought etc. so for taxes you can keep track. I am learning that stock $5.00 or less is penny stock, which can iffy . I like that Stash is careful about what they allow you to buy. This a good place over all and cost is not to expensive. You have choices from three cost. Enjoy! E.W

A positive influence on young investors. Firstly, I’d like to think I am part of Stash’s target demographic. I had never invested before, and but knew I wanted a mix of a scheduled ETF buys, along with the ability to experiment with putting some of my industry knowledge to the test. Within my first year of my salary position, I started saving and invested on this app mostly out of convenience and the illusion of control. I wasn’t looking for a day trading app, but I did want to be able to take some short term risks on new/obscure tickers. Unfortunately, it isn’t practical for stash to offer every stock, and that makes sense since it is a fractional shares focused brokerage. Moving forward, I will be looking for a different app to do more hands-on investing. I’m happy to have saved as much as I did with stash, and since it is not my “savings account” I see no problem letting my money sit here another year or two. If you see no benefit in becoming more hands-on with your investments, Stash is probably one of the best fits for you. Everything else about the experience is pretty smooth.

Easy Enough. I was skeptical going into using Stash. For the first time ever, I’ve been able to actually create a small savings and maintain it (so that’s a start). The app is super easy to use, I like being able to create goal centered savings with timelines. Using the debit card with the stock back option is an added bonus! I’ve definitely earned smaller shares of stock at businesses that I frequent by using the debit card, which is nice! It will be cool to watch those build over time as they aren’t necessarily companies that I would purchase stock outright. I have made a few stock purchases and that was very straightforward and easy. Being of the generation that “played the stock market game” in school as part of the educational experience it has been fun seeing exactly what I remember. So far, it seems I was a pretty good student and I actually DO remember more than I thought I would all these years later! I love the tutorials in the app as well, super handy! The challenges are fun too! I definitely recommend this app if you have goals and you are looking for a way to meet them!

Stash got me started investing!!!. Stash is a great way to get started investing. Very easy to use and lots of incentives to invest a little here and there. Don’t need a ton of money to get started at all. I have been able to earn free stock by inviting people to STASH, by spending on my debit card, by opening a STASH checking account and spending on normal items, and a few other ways. I would not recommend it for anyone that is investing in small or less known stocks as STASH started as ETF investing and it doesn’t have all stocks available. There is a custodial account feature where you can start investing a little early for kids. That’s something that I could say I would have wished I had when I was growing up, an investment account. Even investing a little bit every month would go a long ways if It is able to sit and grow for years. Auto-stash is a feature you can auto draft any amount of money money on a regular basis to buy stock. Super easy and helps money pile up! I love the app and it is fun to see the money grow!

Extortionists. Had a beginner plan for a dollar a month. Used it for years. Now stash is forcing us to pay triple that and offering us more services. We can’t opt and have to pay for them even if we don’t want them. The options are cash out or pay the fee to transfer to another brokerage. This year they tripled the fee whats stopping them from charging us 10 times more next year. Between their trade windows and now fees for services I don’t want and won’t use I will be going to another app. Sadly any partial shares I own won’t transfer to other apps so I’ll lose out on that. Stash doesn’t care about you even the they claim to try to educate on the market. They taught me that even stash is out to get the little guy. Stash should be ashamed of themselves and I will be contacting the SEC and FCC because I don’t believe charging for services that you didn’t subscribe to is theft. Update. The new format of separating etf and stock into two different list is awful. I want to be able to have one list to look down and I don’t want to have to keep adjusting the filter. I like it by percentage of my portfolio. Why can’t we have the option to leave it on that and in one list. It’s really aggravating.

Let me invest without being marketed to in such aggressive manners!. I would leave five stars, if it were it for the incessant pop ups trying to sell me life insurance that have no way to exit out. I have to click on the “get started” button, close the browser tab and return to the app just to get to what I was going to do when I opened the app. I deal with the emails easily enough but the app pop ups are to much. Oh, and while I’m at it, after I’ve dismissed the pop up warning me that a stock is volatile, that should be it; I’ve been warned, thank you very much. No need to interrupt my browsing of certain stocks EVERY time I view them with the same warning! Response to the developer: I could understand that if I were using the app with no fee. But I pay the monthly fee. I shouldn’t be inundated with solicitation. There should at least be a box to check for not seeing this again or a setting in the app to opt out. And there certainly should be a way to exit out of a pop up without selecting a “get started” button.

It has its advantages!. I have been using Stash Bank for a while and for the most part, it does what it needs. It is easy to invest from my Stash Bank account. I saved money for travel fully expecting to pay cash on my recent trip based on funds set aside for a year in Stash Bank. I was hugely disappointed to get to my destination and learn that the card did not work in Dominican Republic. Worse than that was that I could not reach a representative after several attempts while traveling. Turns out that the hundreds of countries that they say you can use the card are not published anywhere for the public to see and when I finally reached a person after returning from my vacation, she could not send me the list of approved countries. I singly asked in Dominican Republic was a country in their list and she said yes. So needless to say, I will never rely on my Stash Bank card for travel outside of the U.S.A. ever again. In the continental US, it has been great. I love the Stock Rewards received simply by paying bills with the bank card. And, I’m enjoying watching my stock values grow…. And I’m no expert in investing.

Beginners Beware!. I downloaded the app in hopes of earning some dough and maybe even learning about the stock market- it had great reviews so why not?! Personally I found the app itself to be overwhelming and not user-friendly. I received at least 4!!( very annoying) emails a day from stash. And when I had had enough I couldn’t even cancel my account. The CUSTOMER SERVICE line is TRASH. On hold for an eternity, 2 dropped calls, and finally I was able to get in touch with someone who simply told me that the button to close was not working?? What does that even mean. I asked to escalate my case and she responded that no one would be able to cancel my account and instead she would email me instructions. I’m sorry but, if I wanted instructions on how to cancel I would’ve used google instead of waiting over an hour attempting to reach a human. Now I have to wait 6 business days for the cancelation to process so I can go back to square one in order to finally cancel? I don’t have time for that... LSMS; I don’t recommend unless you feel confident about investing and have the time and money to navigate the learning curve because with stash you are completely on your own. I felt taken advantage of and honestly suffocated without means to get out!

Bad Experience. Maybe this works if you invest top dollar, but here’s my experience: I lose about $1/month, so I’m paying for nothing. My cash does not go up if I invest the $3/month. The only reason I even have a little money in the app is because I put a lump sum in. Now I’m basically just paying them every month - I pay $3, lose $4.11 every month! I lost a lump sum investing in the markets they recommended, so I closed almost all of those so that I can retain a little of my money …. Maybe! If I close my account NOW I will lose $20. But…. I can’t close my account now because after you spend forever finding their Close My Account Forever option, I get a pop-up stating: “Looks like we’ve got a bug here Our engineers have been notified and are preparing to fix it. Check back soon.” I’ve been getting that message for more than a month, and when I have called their 24 hour help line, it’s closed. Today is a holiday, but not every time I have called has been a holiday. Bad experience for me. It seems like no matter what I do, I will lose money, either quickly by closing the account, or slowly by keeping the account. Regardless I will close it because I almost single-handedly support a household of 6, and I can’t even gamble $1/month away right now!

Stash. I like the app so far, I would have given it a 5 star only if after you sell, you didn’t have to wait so long until your money becomes available again to purchase another stock, it usually takes about 3 business days until you can use it again to buy, I also dislike the stash app because when your checking the stocks an you actually find good deals for less the stash app doesn’t give you that same price. It actually purchase it for you with the last price, I wish you can purchase the stocks at the price that they are actually showing up as.. for example if you see the stock dropped to $247 an you go on stash it will still show the last price of $260 so you have know choice but to purchase it higher then the actual price that it dropped to,, hopefully they fix this soon.. stocks should be sold at the price you see them as. Not at the last highest price, Other then that I love the app, I will give it time to see how it goes. Hopefully they fix these issues in the near future
