Amazing!!!. I am actually a Genealogist, and I have actually learned a lot of things from this app. I would recommend to anybody, absolutely phenomenal!!!

Very helpful App. I’ve been into genealogy for decades, but I still have a lot to learn. This app is quite helpful! I appreciate the short videos; I probably wouldn’t watch something 30 minutes or longer. These give me just the jumpstart I need on brick walls and missing info.

My Go to. I have been working on my family tree on Ancestry now for a few months straight. I found Ancestry Academy and before I even used it I thought it’d be a resource that is nice to have, but probably wouldn’t be used that often. I don’t run into hang ups too often when researching on Ancestry, but when I do this app is the best! I find it much easier to navigate than anything else I’ve tried. I’ve learned so much from this app!

Ancestry!!!. I have been able to learn new ways to research my family’s history and genealogy! I’ve been super surprised at how it gets broken down in the step-by-step ways! So EASY!!!

Better than I expected, lots left to learn, new places to look!. WOW!! What a great resource. I’ve been doing family history for over 50 years…self-taught and worth every cent. I expected to be overwhelmed, in the dark, too old to learn now. I’m pleasantly surprised to find that I’m better educated than I think…always nice to know. It’s surprising to find that all those mistakes, years of writing people, hours at the library with a patient husband caring for 5 kids, and a bunch of Eureka moments…usually accidental, yielded some knowledge. Now, thanks to the Academy, I have SO many new places to look, and tips and tricks and…I gotta go!

First video, bad advice. The video regarding organizing leaves left me asking, “These are professional hints?” The speaker gave three hints and disqualified one because she already had the photo. But what about the person who posted the photo? What if this person is unknown to you and could have done research you could obtain? What if this person is a cousin from a branch of your tree you need help with? Don’t disregard a hint so quickly!!

Much ado about nothing. Pretty enough, but it won't load any of the lessons. I'm a paid subscriber, so it's not like only the free ones are available. Waste of time and money. Won't be renewing any of the extras. Very disappointed in spite of the mess they made of FamilyTree Maker. Sigh

Malfunction. Keeps saying it needs Internet access even when all other apps work

Great education source. The videos are short and to the point. You can save them to your playlist for future reference.

This is such a wonderful app !. I’m an adoptee and a senior citizen. It is so great to be able to search for family now as well as ancestors. Just the use of the census records at our fingertips is phenomenal. I highly encourage anyone to take a dive into their own histories!

Doesn’t work. I thought I’d struck gold when I found this app. Then I download it and every time I try to sign in I get an error that says I must be connected to a network to continue. Even though I am. And even though the main Ancestry and AncestryDNA apps work just fine. Disappointed is an understatement. For what Ancestry charges for membership I expect better.

Fantastic. It's great to be able to watch these in spare minutes. The vids are short and informative. I mostly don't go for 'reading instructions' unless it's absolutely necessary. I prefer to learn as I go. I don't want to learn how to make a tree, I want to go make the tree! For the most part, I can do just that in Ancestry - even searching for records and clues is amazingly easy. These videos give me valuable info and tools I don't get from doing. I love it! I don't understand the bad reviews, however, I'm an ancestry subscriber, so maybe my experience is different?

Worthless. Says learn when and how you want. What it doesn't tell you is that you need a wi-fi connection. What if I'm somewhere that doesn't have wi-fi? Which is most of the time.

Keeps crashing. I have not had the luxury of using the app due to it keeps crashing😔

Doesn't Work!. If you're not going to maintain it, Ancestry, then take it off the App Store!

Don’t work. App won’t let me sign in and keeps saying error.

Ancestry Academy. This is opening a lot of new doors for me.

Why Only Videos?. Videos are not the only way to learn. Quality articles that can be printed or saved as a file would be valuable as well. If anyone reading this agrees, please send feedback to Ancestry.

Rough experience. I'm pretty sure something's gone wrong the past few months; I can only see four (unwanted) videos, and trying to change the topic selection crashes the app. No updates I can see.

Useless for Australia. Completely inappropriate for the Australian App Store. Entire focus is USA

US-centric. I’m disappointed to see how heavily US-centric the app is. Minimal content for those of us who pay good money for Ancestry memberships in other countries. Try a bit of inclusivity.
