Spire: Music Recorder & Studio App Description & Overview

What is spire: music recorder & studio app? High-quality vocals with your iPhone or iPad

Spire for iOS combines award-winning iZotope audio processing with multi-track recording to make importing a beat, layering vocals, collaborating with your producer, and sharing songs easier than ever. When your iPhone is your mobile vocal booth with automatic Soundcheck, recording high-quality vocals is possible anywhere.

• Import a beat and write lyrics

Get started by importing your beat. Easily write and develop your lyrics directly in the Spire app and have them front-and-center while you record.

• Automatically set your levels and tone

• Layer vocals and mix your tracks

Building a song with Spire is fast and intuitive. Easily capture lead vocals, overdubs, ad-libs, and more by just hitting record. You can edit out unwanted parts from any track with the trim tool. To mix, drag track icons up or down to adjust volume and left or right to pan.

• Collaborate with artists and producers

Text or email a Spire project to anyone from the Spire app and they can preview your song, export mixdowns, download individual tracks to edit in a DAW, or open in Spire to add tracks of their own.

• Share with your fans

If you’ve finished a song in Spire that you’re ready to show the world, you can publish your songs to SoundCloud, Instagram, and more directly from the app. Add artwork or a video to your project to make it your own before posting for your fans.

🔥. Had it for a year now and find the upgrades to be very useful. As a artist I find it very nice that I can take my time and not spend lots of money at a studio that may not really want to put in the work to make you sound like you want . I’m still learning so it’s a nice machine to help those who aren’t that musically inclined. Personally it was a dream come true for me keep up the good work ppl. PS can we get a way to duplicate or auto tune just asking for a friend.

Latest Update. I actually like this device for a number of reasons. Easy to use & designed & manufactured in my area. Latest update must have done something to yield less than desirable results. I had 15 minutes to capture an idea & lost it due to some unknown malfunction. Had everything ready to go & the device connected to iPhone X. Performed sound check & attempted to record but no monitoring or recording took place. Multiple restarts & troubleshooting yield no success. Opted to go with my go to which is iPhone voice memos. Frustrated & disappointed that I lost critical time. I have used voice memos for years & it’s the only thing that does not let me down when I need to capture ideas on the fly. Maybe that’s all I need if Spire can’t deliver on the simplest of tasks. So disappointed in what ever Spire did with my expensive idea recorder.

Spire izotope. Overall it’s super simple to use. So far it seems to lack anyway to punch in and out to pull two pieces of a track together which make it difficult. You either have to get a track perfect in one take or try to punch in on the same track to continue the recording which is tough to do. Maybe I just can’t figure out how to do it yet but everything else is really simple so it seems it’s just not an option. For just recording a vocal track, and individual instrument tracks and layering them it’s great, but anything more doesn’t seem doable.

Spire is amazing. I’ve had this app for a ling time and haven't used it much until I started exploring it but it has been helping with getting the best audio and a lot of high quality sound for my tracks that I've been making (I’m a musician that plays many instruments. However, the thing I enjoy most is beatboxing and thats what I do most). My interest in this app is exponential and I use this app just about every time I'm making a new routine for beatboxing or other things as well now. Thank you for making this amazing app! It has helped me grow as a musician and not just as a beatboxer. -Ty “AdventBBX” Allen

Innovative, with room for improvement. The Spire hardware + iOS app is a pioneering combination of hardware and software, but it has some frustrating limitations. Bulk transfer of projects from the Spire Studio -> iOS device is sorely missing, so backing up projects is a chore that involves tapping each one and waiting for it to transfer before moving on to the next. And if you are hoping to use your recorded audio files in a DAW, there is no way to access your files directly via the native iOS Files app (which is also integrated with MacOS) — instead you need to open each project individually within the Spire app and export the raw audio files from there. I currently have over 100 Spire projects and the audio feels “locked in” because exporting the audio from each project is so cumbersome. It would take me hours just to get the raw audio files onto my laptop. Also, the amps/effects for guitar are underwhelming and generally sound thin. A $40 AmPlug 2 from Vox sounds much better. Still: this is a unique and compelling device that does some things, like quickly tracking vocals and raw guitar takes, very well. It is great being able to start recording on the Spire Studio within ~30 seconds (including soundcheck) without having to look at a screen. I hope iZotope continues to invest in it.

THE BEST RECORDING APP. THIS IS THE BEST RECORDING APP EVER ME AND MY FIANCÉ HAD A SCUFFLE LONG STORY SHORT SHE BROKE MY LAPTOP I WAS HURT DOWN BAD FOR ALMOST A WHOLE YEAR BUT AROUND MY BIRTHDAY LAST IN SEPTEMBER I FOUND THIS MASTERPIECE APP OFF THE RANDOM LIKE I HAD THE URGE TO RECORD I WAS GONNA USE THE VOICE MEMO APP BUT UNTIL I FOUND SPIRE. IT INSPIRED ME AND STILL TO THIS DAY EVEN IF YOU ARE READING THIS IN THE FUTURE. MY NAME IS TAJ MAHALL ONE OF THE FIRST ARTIST I THINK IN THE DMV TO USE THIS APP TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL NO I DONT HAVE THE SPEAKER (which i will eventually get) BUT RECORDING OFF THE IPHONE ALONE IS TO CRISPY AS IF YOU WAS IN A PROFESSIONAL STUDIO. IDK WHAT MIC THE WHOLE IZOTOPE TEAM USING BUT ITS FREAKING AMAZING AND YOU CAN SEND THE INDIVIDUAL WAV FILES TO A ENGINEER OR MASTER IT YOURSELF ON WHATEVER MIXING/MASTERING DAW YOU USE. BUT YEAH LOOK ME UP ALL PLATFORMS TAJ MAHALL aka TAJ BLACKSHEEP MAHALL BY THE TIME YOU READ THIS MY ALBUM (using Spire) “INSPIRED” WILL BE OUT ON ALL PLATFORMS. HOPE YOU READ MY REVIEW AND CHECK OUT MY MUSIC ITS SOME GOOD TUNES GOOD VIBES. HAVE A BLESSED DAY I LOVE YOU....I LOVE YOU ALL 💯🖤

Go-To For Song Ideas. I mostly use this to save single track recordings of song ideas. The multiple tracks are great but I rarely have a wired headset with mic to overdub with, and with Bluetooth headphones, there’s too much latency. My number one request, and I hope someone can provide a solution, is a way to bulk transfer all recordings from my phone to my PC. I’ve got far too many to export one at a time. Any solution for this?

I couldn’t rate 4.5 stars.... I absolutely love this app, I’ve recorded multiple songs that I fell in love with again after using this mobile studio... that being said I only wish it had one thing, some effects for the tracks. When you buy the spire hardware (the desk top mic with all the bells and whistles) for around $500 then you get cool editing and stuff like that, but would it hurt to put some filters on the mobile app? Like reverb, echo, gain, maybe normalize? Or even a white noise suppressor? I’m not asking for every upgrade that comes with the hardware but at least some small things. If the developer could get back to me on this it would be awesome! Like I said, amazing app, amazing software, and awesome recordings come from this app, talent not included, in case you were wondering, lol

Terrible execution. It is so surprising to me that this has been out for so long and they still haven't improved basic obvious things. Like, for example, who could think that it's a good idea to have the Spire completely disconnect every time you change apps? And then when it reconnects, it opens a new project instead of going back to the one you were on? And how you can't change effects after recording, or change the volume of certain sections? And how the "crop" function is extremely tedious and limited in its usage? I know the goal is for this program to be super simple, but there's no reason not to also include extra tools that you can use (or not use). If iPhone Garageband could easily connect to the Spire as an interface, I would always use that app instead and would never open this one again. I'm surprised that iZotope, a great company, hasn't improved this app. Also, I hate that they want you to pay for Spire premium. I already paid a ton of money for the Spire, don't ask me to then pay a monthly fee to have your frustrating app be slightly less frustrating. Ridiculous.

Really Unreal Recorder - Spire is Fire. This is absolutely hands-down one of the best apps I’ve ever used on my phone it’s incredibly powerful for an iPhone app or anything really. The app itself and Spire have made an unreal amount of progress over the past few months, it seems like every time I open it they’ve added some new tweak, improvement or update and it continues to get better. I’ve been pro since the beginning and well worth the subscription price and more... really good developer team. Couple super nit-picky wishes / ideas: -in same way you can import a base sound I wish you could import just like a short (ten second) clip into a channel... like for example a producer tag or a sound effect. -I like the the ‘inspire me’ effects; but I wish you could either (a) delete and/or hide the ones you don’t want or (b) favorite the ones you do so you can find them more easily, they are very cool but so many to sort through that I forget the name or want to compare fewer against each other to find the best one. - Canyou not do the effects and inspire me together on the same track? Seems like right now if I add one it removes the other effect (which is fine just curious) Thanks you guys for all that you do, fantastic job and always improving! Rating 10 / 10. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nice Features. While I don’t have the stand alone unit I do have the app. I’m familiar with what I can do with other apps on my iPhone like BandLab which I use a lot but one thing you can’t do from the iPhone app is save the stems separately. On the Spire App you can do this, they call them Tracks, and I think that is reason alone to use the app for initial recordings. I’d have to have a Spire Studio to know if it would end up replacing my other recording mics and apps for the Spire and Spire Studio.

Amazing App. After searching for software to record playing my sax playing with background piano I stumbled onto this. This app is amazing in its simplicity for recording multiple tracks and then sharing the file (project) or tracks. I have been using it on my iPad just with built in microphone. I can simply import a piano score previously saved in my music then play my sax on a separate track along with it. My mind is churning with the possibilities this will make. While the quick short videos may do it for someone who knows the system it doesn’t for someone trying to learn it. I am sold and just ordered the Spire Studio saving tons of money to achieve my goal of a simple studio. Keep it up. You guys Rock in my book!

Fun, easy to use, but sad.... Everything about this app is amazing. The souls is great and it’s super easy to use. The only problem I’ve run into is creating harmonized parts or overdoubs. I’ll play something in parts so that there’s depth to my song. And every time I try to to add to parts to play at the same time, in the Dane timing... the part that I add is delayed by about a sec. and it totally screws the song up. I don’t know why this is happening if I just need to reset things or something. But other than the delayed track problem this app is great!

No more updates!. I enjoy the spire hardware and the app, however it is really disappointing to know that regular (if any updates) will be made to the app anymore…I reached out to izotope on Instagram and they said that no planned updates are in the works because spire is “no longer a focus”. It’s frustrating because the hardware and the software both only work with each other, I can’t use the spire hardware on any other DAW that has continuous updates, the current app is fine but I was looking forward to more updates, such as copy/paste, easier punching into tracks, the ability to add reverb to each track with the option to add before or after I record…just some weird things with the app that could be improved but I guess won’t be now, they just came out with version 2 last year….

This little device is a game changer. We have PreSonus Studio 5 Professional and it’s way too much studio for our needs. Got our Spire yesterday and started in today. In less than an hour we had composed and recorded an instrumental track. Imported the drums from PreSonus then recorded rhythm, lead, bass guitar and organ parts. Plugged all the instruments straight in and used the provided amps. Mixing was so easy the cat could have done then shared it with our band members and on social media. Had a listen and even on a phone the sound really sparkles. All I can add is get one, you won’t be disappointed.

I don’t recommend this. I’ve used this app for about a month now for recording myself play guitar, but there is one thing that constantly always bothers me. You CANNOT set the starting point in editing/trimming. So, let’s say there’s 10 seconds of unneeded audio in the beginning of the recording; getting your instrument or whatever setup and the music sheet ready, and then you start playing. Well, there is absolutely no way to get rid of that starting 10 seconds of junk. You can’t do it in the trim, because all it does is delete the audio inside that timeframe, so you’ll have 10 starting seconds of silence without any way to get rid of it. Imagine with every movie you watch, each scene starts includes “Alright, everybody ready? Remember your lines? Okay, now action!” That would be a very annoying movie. Just use Voice Memos.

Magic demo machine!. As a songwriter, I’ve always wanted a quick and easy way to demo a new song. Most of the time, I’ve just used my iPad to capture it. And if I had the time— I’d fire up Garage Band. If I really wanted to share to a wider audience, I’d work through it on my Protools setup. But now, Spire helps me make a quick and easy demo in my living room that sounds darned close to a studio version. The more I use it, the better I get and the better I sound. It does feel like a magic little box. The mic check dials in the levels, the effects sound nice and clean and above all it takes me minutes— not hours! My biggest wish would be to improve the ability to punch in to fix a guitar clam. It’s close to impossible so I usually try to get a complete and acceptable take before moving on to vocals. Punching in a vocal isn’t hard because there’s usually a dead space that I can come in on. I hope iZotope is still working on this little gem because it would be great to be able to at least add an easy dissolve to smooth a punch in. But hey, I actually couldn’t be happier with this thing.

Too simple to get lost in. Hooray!. The Spire app and Studio hardware are a game changer for me. I’m a slider sliding, knob hobbling, button bumping menu diver with a diving bell helmet on (usually). But this app makes me stick to the music only. Live performance onto a recording is what this system elicits. I can produce final products in half the time because of the automated imbedded plug ins from sound check to the final export. YES the hardware is worth the money. But even the app standalone is a game changer.

Spire is a GameChanger. The spire took all the frustration and time consumption of setting up , having certain connections and sound checking , it overall, is the most useful recording device I’ve ever used . it literally gave me my artistic expression back, it has added an element to my process that is unseen or found anywhere else or in any other device.. bravo, gamechanger

The best investment you can make.. I love the Spire Studio! It has helped me develop songs in ways I haven’t been able to before. Having the ability to multi track a song within minutes with virtually zero setup and have it sound studio quality is priceless. I was even able to take demos I created on the Spire Studio and bring them to the recording studio and continue to build the tracks from there. I even did over dubs using the Spire. Saved me a lot of time and money on my last album. I can’t recommend this device enough.

Just Missing a few things. Really love this device and what it can do. However there are two main things i would like to see on the app side of things. 1st is the ability to mix tracks down to a single track like you could do on the old 4/8 tracks and then have another 7 tracks to keep adding with. 2nd is some level of post production, I understand the device is aimed at musicians who want to cut thru all the hang ups of traditional recording etc but you guys really have something here that could be much more than that. Im not saying to go crazy but maybe a 4 band eq for starters and then add some basic easy stuff that others have mentioned. Again not looking for pro tools just some tools to tweak and shape the sound a little more. Add it as an upgrade pack in app purchase or whatever i would definitely be interested in something like that keep up the good work and looking forward to some future updates

Mind Blowing!!!. Eye have been producing music from my in home stu setup since 2017, izotope has brought my sound quality to the next level with this app + interface. The DAW is super easy to use on mobile, fluid control and in depth editing ability. The mic effects are BEAUTIFUL, Eye was very surprised by how well my track was mixed. Eye wish Eye was able to duplicate tracks; slice, copy & paste. It would also be helpful to expand on the effects library

Amazing.. I do best when recording solo. This app has allowed me to do so with exceptional quality and it’s so user friendly. The things I would love to see in the future would be: basic effects. I would love to be able to add some basic reverb or chorus effects to eliminate the need to take up precious track space with multiple vocals. Maybe like 3 effects? That’s all you really need. Also, I’ve seen in other recording software a “solo” option meaning I can isolate one track to listen to to find that one later I want to delete without having to individually muting a bunch of tracks to find the one I want to delete. I see you’ve put the option to add an icon to tracks to help distinguish what instrument is featured on each track but that’s not enough when it comes to layering vocals etc. soloing a track would be much quicker. Anyways, great app and great quality! Thanks!

“That’s a crop icon...”. Typically when you “crop” audio in a DAW you are selecting what you want to keep, not selecting what you want to delete. This is NOT a DAW or a MAW (mobile audio workstation). In this software audio does not exist on top of a timeline. Because of that you cannot cut, paste and move around sections of audio within the global timeline. Rather, audio is constantly being over-written or deleted on the same audio file. Most likely the the amount of backend engineering required to gain that functionality would cost too much for the business model here. So if you’re looking for Pro Tools in an app this is not it. If you want to have the ability to just record straight audio then it is somewhat useful.

I wouldn’t recommend buying this device. I just tried to record vocals and couldn’t figure out why the mic was picking up so much feedback. I went through the sound check, the direct sound effects( hurt my ear with a high pitch), and even tried to cover the spire to see why but it didn’t go away. So after trying and giving up I realized that the feedback is only heard when I’m charging the spire. So how am I supposed to use this device to record out of the blue of when I need to charge it I get feedback... I’ve had so many issues trying to record because I’m just now realizing that I can’t charge it while I record.. No wonder I can’t get inspired because I’m working with a device that has bugs,.. and in the end I still transfer my recorded song to garage band because this app can’t do what garage band can.. 2Stars because I’m nice like that.

Stay Away From This SCAM. The app says you can cancel any time. I signed up for the free trial, and when I tried to cancel it I was ask for a purchase URL. I signed up in the app so a purchase URL is non-existent. I was also asked to provide an order number from my credit card bill (I.e. you have to get charged before you are able to provide this number). Without these two pieces of nonsense information, the app would not let me cancel. There is no reason they should not be able to cancel, using the email I signed up with (which I provided, and there is no reason I should not be able to cancel while signed into the app. Supposedly, they can’t find my account without a URL that doesn’t exist, and info that requires me to get billed to obtain. Otherwise they can’t find the account, the one that I’m currently signed into as I’m trying to cancel. Does any of that sound legit to you?

Needs copy/paste or looping. The convenience of this app is great, but the big limitation for me is a lack of a copy/paste or looping function. For instance: if I want to create a 4-bar drum beat, I have to play it through the entire length of the proverbial song instead of being able to play just one 4-bar segment, and then copy/paste or loop it to build a base for my track. I should be able to play as many or few beats as I want and then build it out to create, let’s say, a 16-bar verse section. Then put in a chorus section, and then go back and copy/paste the verse section again for 16 more bars of a second verse, etc. Yeah, I know I can export into a DAW and do this, but if I’m gonna go to that trouble, why bother with this app at all? Am I missing something? Seems like a basic addition to a music creation app like this. I can’t be expected to play perfectly in time for a whole 4 minute song, can I? ;)

Seriously. I’m already starting to get frustrated!!! I literally just downloaded this app, and for someone that’s never used an app such as this for recording music before, this app doesn’t make it easy for a beginner to learn themselves on at all!!! The importing button is just NOT WORKING AT ALL when I try to import my instrumentals from my Apple Music app on my iPhone, onto the spire app, once I select the song from my library, it just goes back to the spire app, and doesn’t do ANYTHING AT ALL, I’ve tried it over 3 dozen times and NOTHING HAPPENS! It is incredibly frustrating!!! I’ve even referred to the app-help section and followed those links to no avail!!! It is truly hopeless!!! I really wanted to love this app, because it truly could’ve been something great, but alas, it’s just another unfortunate wannabe imitation. 😞😞😞😞😞

Not too shabby. I own a the spire recording device and have the app installed. I use an external mic plugged into the isotope spire and record into spire and mix onto another daw on my phone. Now I like the spire, don’t get me wrong. However I also have an audio interface that works with any daw I plug it into and I can get straight to mixing without having to import files. Now I love what the spire can do, the quality that the vocals can display are great but because I can only record into the spire daw with my spire device I find myself not using it anymore. Now if I could use the izotope spire in any daw, that would be amazing... maybe even making spire and the spire device have audio unit extension capabilities. There are updates that should and probably could happen... but auv3 spire through cubasis? That would most definitely be the best! Hopefully something like that happens and I can use my izotope spire again.

Confidence Booster. What’s good world! My names Cino, a songwriter and aspiring artist from the south, and I’m looking to polish my sound and my confidence when recording at a big studio. I hit a home run when I found the Spire App. I’ve been using Spire for 3 months now and instantly I had progressive results in my return to the big studio. Spire allows me to record possibly anywhere I’m most comfortable. I use it to record rough drafts or store hooks, melodies, verses and any other creative content I think of on the go. The app allows you upload beats, create separate tracks and also has a small range of mixing tools. I recommend all pursuing artist that’s looking to build confidence, create limitlessly and save time in the big studios, download the Spire app, not now, but RIGHT NOW!!

Grateful for Spire. I have been a musician for 33 years, and I checked on a whim one day to see if a mobile, multi-tracking app even existed and Spire appeared. I’m so grateful for this app and how quickly I am able to “save” musical ideas and hit record within seconds so that fleeting ideas are not lost forever. I’m writing the best music of my entire life, and Spire is a tremendous reason for that! *If I could improve anything, I would make folders available to group instruments, songs or ideas together to stay more organized and if I go listen to an old recording, I wish it would not take me back to the very top every time.

Please if you can add more tracks. I do like to set up I use voice over and it works very well with that. But eight tracks isn’t good enough because I don’t record a song all the way through. So by the time I’m done with all of my recordings I still have the third verse and the chorus to finish if there was more tracks than I could record more. I know this may illuminate a feature. But maybe once you hit the record button a second time maybe you can still stay on that same track until you manually want to move to the third track

Love this item. I’ve had a love hate relationship with 8 track portable recording studios for 20 years. I was blown away by both the sound quality and ease of use. The sound check feature that sets recording levels automatically is genius. I rarely leave reviews but this product is amazing. Right out of the box it made sense, and within minutes I was up and running. Sound quality is gorgeous. Get one!!!

Great tool for songwriters. If you are constantly writing songs and don’t want to interrupt the creative process by sitting in front of a computer, then this is the best solution. It’s incredibly mobile with the rechargeable battery that you can take it anywhere. The built in mic sounds great on instruments and vocals and the interface is so simple and innovative in the way it provides a visual mixing environment. This has improved my productivity enormously vs being stuck behind a desk starting at a computer. Great app and great product.

Songwriters Delight. I have been waiting decades for the likes of this device. I can sing my tracking vocal, play guitar, have friend do lead, slap on a harmony or two and maybe even a rhythm track without fussing about levels and gains and whatever else. If you write songs and really want to explore your music in a frustration free environment, order now. I was so impressed I bought one for a friend of mine because I could just not imagine her without it.

almost there. Hello, just wanted to say that this app has some potential. However, there are a few things that I have to suggest. The first one is that I would like some more things to do with your vocal tracks such as echo or reverb. Whenever I record my freestyles to a beat I find my vocals to be very dull and does not sound that good. There are other free apps that sound a little better than this one. The second idea is voiceover support. I have low vision and some parts of the app don’t work such as track editing. It would be cool if you could fix some of those problems. Other than that, that’s all I have. Keep up the good work.

Needs Some Improvements. This is an okay app, but it has a lot of things I wish were different about it. It isn’t compatible with my microphone, which I plug into my phone for louder sound. Another problem I had with it is the sound-checking system doesn’t work very well. The recordings didn’t really sound any different. It would be nice if there was some way for you to edit the recordings yourself through the app, because digital recordings sound so tinny, and sometimes need more than an automatic sound-check. I do love that you can mix recordings and change the volume on them, but any app with a recording option can do that. I will say it’s definitely better than iMovie and Garage Band, and it is cool that it tries to sound-check specifically for your instrument or vocal type.

Fiddle and guitar player.. So easy and smooth. Perfect app for making quick sketches of your music. Multi tracking has never been this easy and intuitive. I would pay for this app. Works perfectly. I have now added the spire studio and it eclipses my 24 track tascam studio. So seamless and easy, great sounds, versatility. I’d use the tascam for something really complex, but the spire almost all the time. Amazing. Simple.

It’s just- I can’t describe it. This app was amazing. I was thinking this might be another bum app that I wouldn’t be able to figure out how to use but it wasn’t. It was clear as day to me. I used this to make a song for my girlfriend and I have to admit even I cried when I realized how well it came out. All my emotions were caught in it and I was able to add some extra things to it to make it sound better. I’m glad this app was made. You don’t know how much this means to me. If u don’t get enough downloads then these people don’t know what real stuff is. I have u guys to thank for this opportunity to make music for myself and loved ones

Awesomeness!!. This app is pretty amazing. It gave me a way to record songs on my iPhone when I get ideas. I import beats and instrumental tracks into the app and record my vocals. The features like effects and reverb stuff will only be available if you get the Spire device. I need to buy the Spire Studio device because from what I see online, it really does deliver quality like no other. Thanks for an amazing app. Still the best app for this!!! None like it!

Please update. I feel like we should be able to scroll through the different voice effects, and this is just me but we should be able to copy the recording to maybe add a two voice effect. I’m tired of randomly selecting the voice effect and not being able to go back. There should be more of a open view instead of a little view. Other than that I love the app, made my first song on there and it didn’t disappoint.

Missing some key elements. It blows my mind that without the actual expensive studio set, you cannot plug in an external mic or even headset mic to record. I can only record through my crappy iPhone microphone itself, which is garbage sound quality and basically renders the app relatively useless for recording music, as the quality is poor and everything sounds muddied no matter what I do. Spire, why don’t you have the option to do this? Literally every other recording app I’ve tried (probably 10-15), when you plug in an external mic or headphones that have a mic, it records via that. Is this to make people buy the studio? If so that’s a low blow. I appreciate many other things about this app and would prefer to use it above the others, but having my iPhone mic be the only option, I can’t use this app for music recording. Am I missing something here? Would love a response from Spire.

Am i the only one who wants more track editing??. This is an amazing and intuitive app, nearly perfect. I can’t seem to find any way to edit my audio! The “trim” feature is very well-designed, but too limited! For example, if i am recording backup vocals but decide i don’t want to use all the vocals i record, there is no way in this app to delete only the sections I don’t want; you can only delete ALL the audio before or after a trim point. I would gladly pay for a version of this app with more robust editing features and audio effects

Sounds great....but.... This is a super cool unit. Sounds great and is easy to use. This app needs basic editing features though on the recording timeline. Would be nice to be able to use loops instead of having to import full tracks? Also to be able to lightly comp your takes would also be nice (cut, paste, duplicate, basic editing features). I realize Izotope isn’t aiming to make this a DAW, but it really doesn’t make sense to go PRO but not have basic PRO features. I suppose an amazing work around could be an AU plugin that allows you to use the hardware with other mobile daws such as Cubasis? As an interface and idea machine it’s better than voice memos, but I rarely use it because it just doesn’t feel complete to me.

Best recording app paid for or not. I have fallen in love with this app and it has taken my music soaring to new heights. As a singer/songwriter it is amazing to write a song and then record it right from my phone and then share that with all my devices. You can’t sing one chorus perfect and then cut and paste it through out the song so you have to know your material and you can’t enhance edit and filter each individual track so you have to learn to produce the sound your looking for yourself but I like that. I think the newest update introduced some new features so sorry if I’m selling you guys short spire but all I want people to take away from this is “best recording app paid for or not”

Social Media Upload Fails to Initiate from iPad. Love everything about Spire Studio except a few months ago the upload function to share with Facebook fails to initialize. I’ve been supplying test results and diagnostics to Izotope but there has been zero progress in fixing the problem. So upload works from my iPhone but not my iPad. Who likes to work on a small screen all the time? From my iPad I can upload to Messenger, MeWe no problem but not share to a greater audience on FB. I even restored my iphones backup to my clean iPad and it worked! Except when a new Spire update got installed on my iPad for the iPad version of Spire, go figure, back to square one. Frustrated! Ps...Tech Support has been great but the Developers not so much.

Best Studio App available!. I’ve used Spire Studio for close to 2 years to do professional recordings that have been used in radio advertisements, tv commercials, and a few industry releases. It has a great built-in Mic with a dope Soundcheck feature to give your recordings great volume without clipping. New vocal effects are amazing. Plus several other effects available. One of the best tools is the Mixing window. It is simple enough for beginners to use, but can deliver the same quality and results the pros put out. Export to other Spire users to collab, export to email, or even upload directly to SoundCloud without any extra work. By far the best Studio app I own. Use it on a daily basis. Get Spire Studio, you won’t be disappointed.

Good, but not totally accessible for blind users. I am a blind user. I purchased the Spire Studio on a recommendation. After the initial trouble of syncing the recorder with the app without being able to see the blinking lights to perform the operation, I have finally been able to use it. The sound I get with my guitar is amazing. The app could use some fine tuning for accessibility... not all parts are clearly labeled, and I am able to mix different tracks, sort of. But still trying to figure it out. Apparently there’s no manual. If a little more work were to be put in to make the app more blind user friendly, and some instructions to go with it, that would be wonderful and I would revise my 4 to a 5. If you are blind or V.I., be ready to put in some time with trial and error, and don’t use any important files until you have a grasp on the platform, or if you have backups.

I’m Totally In-Spired. Spire is a game changer! Years ago I had written a bunch of songs on my guitar, and recorded them on my tape recorder (remember those?). And there they sat. If you’ve ever written a song, they’re (almost) like children to you, even if they’re bad. I felt like I had abandoned them. But I never forgot them, continually wondering how I could take them to the next level. I tried buying recording software, but it was way beyond my technical ability. Then I discovered Spire. I was blown away by it’s capabilities and ease of use. It’s pretty much idiot proof. I pulled out my folder containing the lyrics and chords of my old songs, and started playing around in the app. First recorded the guitar, then added vocals. Pleased with the results, I got the little round Spire box, and started using effects. I went out and bought a used bass guitar and keyboard, and got my electronic drum kit out of the closet. I added all the instruments to the mix by myself! I’m about to record my 35th song. The pandemic has afforded me more time to devote to it than I otherwise would have had. I’ve rediscovered my passion for songwriting, I’m learning how to play the bass and the keyboard, and with each song, I’m becoming a more proficient producer. It’s amazing what Spire can do with a poorly written song!

Easy but powerful, and evolving in the right ways.. I upgraded to the Spire Studio v2 and I’m still using the app to start all my tracks. Having used Zen Beats, Cubasis, and GarageBand; I feel that Spire (with the Spire Studio) is the best mobile recording app around. I don’t need all the VSTs and instruments of the competition. I just want high quality takes of my instruments that, and Spire does that. I wish there were more icons. I have a few synths and basically I have to use the Keys icon for all of them. Being able to change the color at least would make sorting and mixing go more smoothly. Otherwise I’m always muting or soloing and figure out which is which.

Great App. A pretty flawless, simple recorder that's excellent for recording multiple tracks as a means of practice or writing. Not necessarily meant to be used for more than just an ideas kennel but it's really a musicians tool. Would greatly benefit from being able to trim segments rather than the entire beginning or end of a recording.

Awesome with the Spire Hardware. What I would do for some simple programmable drums! Not too hard though to create a drum track in GarageBand and then copy it over though. Love it carry the Spire round everywhere

Practical. Great potential in this app, muso's will agree. Straight out of the box it has plenty of upsides, with simplicity among the top. A trim function would be handy ofcoarse, and further format versatility. Maybe an import function, idk?...I'm not complaining, this is one of,if not,the best free app i've seen! Well done!

Good app. Might be one of the best app to record my music ideas. I only wish more layers could be added rather than just 8

Good but quiet.. It’s not a bad app one problem is that I can never here myself singing, then I delete it and download it again over and over again but it still won’t work.

Awesome. What a great collaboration tool!

Simple and very useful. Great free app for laying down ideas very quickly. Love it!

Metronome. Cannot be use as click track while recording Also listening previous recoded track while recording the new one

Needs modern functions. I have not been able to use this app because it lacks modern tools such as AudioCopy, InterApp Audio or AudioUnit support.

Great app!. My computer’s broken down so I can’t write or produce music. This app though allows me to do it on a smaller scale and write songs on a multi track. The inbuilt mic is impressive!

Review for Spire. Great app for sharing audio content and shining the light you have within!

Simple, effective and AWESOME sound quality!!!. I’m loving it! The day Spire Studio creates some fuzzy or harder overdrive it will be the best recording tool ever!

Awesome. An awesome app, highly recommend it, does what it says it’s meant to do and just all round excellent app

Great product !. Great product !

Bhutani it’s a nice one but needs quality effects like compressor, Equalizer and reverb pro. I bought this hardware in 2018 after watching many reviews on YouTube and google .I found it very nice for vocal and instruments recording but I felt something missing that is on the aforesaid .This hardware would be the best if the aforesaid is included in the next update .

cannot lower volume of tracks. unless i am missing something

Can’t Sync???. Sound quality is pretty good but I can’t sync tracks??? Even when I record part 2 while listening to part 1, it’s out of sync when I listen to it after?

Great. Spire could hardly be better for being free. I would really recommend. Great UI and sound quality. The only qualm I have about it is that when I go and trim all tracks right in the front, I end up with that much white space which is kind of annoying. But other than that, it’s a gr8t app altogether.

Just one thing. It’s really good - although I wish there was an option to upload to YouTube since I don’t get how SoundCloud works

Really good but. Can you update the app so that my recording saves to my camera roll

Spire studio. Without a doubt the easiest gizmo to use and the sound quality incredible.

Recording in your comfort zone. What can I say about how convenient this machine is. First of all, amazing quality. You record your tracks for a simple project or you send those tracks to your DAW or anyone else’s if you need to make it a bigger project and go from there. Basically, I use it’s my interface and it’s so easy to use.

Good, but find out what is going on in iOS.... I use a ton of Izotope stuff on the desktop, Ozone Advanced, Nectar, Iris 2, and more. What I don’t get is why big Desktop developers don’t research what is actually going on in iOS that makes it great: AUv3, IAA, Audiobus. Have Propellerhead, Izotope, Shure, NI not even looked into the possibilities available to make their very good apps compatible with these options? It never seems that way, and the whole development process for them seems quite walled garden in philosophy. For me and (yes, over 10,000 FB iPad Musician members who btw also use hardware and desktop stuff) thousands of other it is simply not good enough to bother with most of the time when there is all that connectivity available from the little guys. Pay attention, please.

Metronome and Tempo Feature BROKEN. Every time I open up that feature it doesn’t let me back out and I have to close the app and start all over again.

Great product. This is one of the best recording applications for the iPhone or iPad (especially paired with the spire studio) however I wish the iPad app could rotate to landscape!

Spire. It’s awesome I just got it and I can’t sleep I’m so excited with it I wished it had vocal harmony on effects

The best of its kind. Ive tried for years to find a product with the perfect combination of quality and ease of use . as a songwriter i dont want to get bogged down with technical applications that distract me from my goal which to write great songs . Spire delivers that for me.

Love it. A nice tool to write quick ideas with harmonies or any overdub. Wish it had a simple reverb or EQ but it's great for free.

Finally!. A great little app that lets you share to social media... YES!

Well done. I’ve tried other similar apps, and honestly nothing is even comparable. Spire is great for a hobbyist looking to explore creating music and actually getting solid audio output. Thanks.

Uhhhh. I used this app often but now when I open it, it crashes! I’ve tried shutting off my phone and deleting then reinstalling but it hasn’t done anything. I hope this bug gets fixed soon so I can use Spire again.

enfin!. Fantastique ! Et le son!!'

Spire. Turns my mic into something else!

Super!. It is great. I only wish there was a way? To record more tracks and/or combine tracks...maybe there is, I just haven't figured it out....

This is a great little app. Stacking takes is easy and fun. My favourite new way to get ideas down. Add a very simple verb and eq, and it’s an easy 5 stars!

Good app however it keeps kicking me out?. There seems to be a problem with opening the app at all as it just exits almost immediately upon launching it. Kinda sucks cause all my projects are still on there. Hasn’t really been buggy in the past, please try to fix it if possible, thanks.

Great sound quality. As an artist, I really get a clean clear sound for voiceover auditions and jingles. A great addition in this ever changing recording industry. Would love a DAW program from Spire for my desktop. Would definitely purchase.

Spire hardware great but software needs improvement. I own the Spire hardware and it is a pretty great piece of kit. However, the software is really lacking relative to other solutions I have used in the past. The copy, paste and punch-in features are very very limited. This is exceptionally frustrating when you consider that $80 software I bought from Cakewalk in 1999 had fully featured copy and paste options (as well as the option to move tracks to anywhere in the project), while this software which manages a $550 CAD piece of hardware in 2018 can barely handle any editing whatsoever. You also cannot copy a track from one project and import it into another, which touches on my next issue: You can only import one external audio file into your project and only when you first start the project. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, until you’ve already imported a drum track from Garage Band and decide that you want to add some strings from Garage band after the fact, and then realize you have to start a whole new project with both those tracks already bumped into an MP3 to make that work. When you consider (like I mentioned) that you can’t copy tracks from one project top another, you can see the frustration of having to completely re-record everything to make something like this work! Oh ya, and you can also only undo the last thing you recorded. Another huge issue is that it only exports projects in a proprietary format. So if you are using other software or want to upload into Garage Band that isn’t happening either. All-in-all there needs to be more care taken with the software, especially since there are now users who have purchased some pretty pricey hardware that this program now supports. It was great when it was all free, but it isn’t up to my expectations for what you pay for the Spire Hardware. I have faith that future updates will make this software more fully featured (or at least bring it up to basic expectations. But until then, it is frustrating.

Demo Glory!!!. Been looking for something like this for years. Live monitoring/playback on my earbuds while recording the mic on my phone! Majorly useful for demoing ideas. Almost like a brainless 4-track recorder. So unbelievably easy to use. Cool mixing UI design. You can’t do fancy DAW things... and that’s the best part. Would give 5 stars if I could access a simple eq on each track for less than $60/yr. oof.

Some useful new features still no track alignment.. The notes is useful for lyrics or reminders while recording, and undo feature can allow quick retakes of tracks. Honestly the headphone feature is beyond annoying. Creating a 1/2s lag when using Bluetooth headphones which wouldn’t be so bad if you could shift the tracks to align them but I see no option for it. I assume the pitch is “buy our spire pro recording product” in which case I’m using my laptop..

Literally perfect. This is the best app I’ve ever used oh my GOD thank you so much I’ve been looking for this exact app for so long

Amazing user interface. Looking for a multitrack recorder that does not hog my memory. So easy to use, amazing export functions. Great sound...best first impression of an app. I never write reviews, so kudos to the team!

App is good but limited. No effects in the app without the hardware. Good for basic recording otherwise. I would rate it higher if effects and other extras were included, or at least possible as in-app purchases, for those of us that don’t own the hardware.

Excellent. Thank u

First there was instant coffee now there’s instant music production. Box off recording on. Intuitive. No learning curve. It’s instant. Brilliant software engineers. Thank you.

Not bad but needs more. Really need the ability to trim the whole project or a channel to a specific number of beats/bars otherwise the looping is off. Some basic effects like reverb would be great too.

Pandemic lifeline. I’ve had my Spire for two years. Have loved it the entire time, but especially in the past 10 months when it allows me to capture new songs and share a really great quality recording with my duo partner for collaboration. Thank you for this amazing technology! Couldn’t be happier!

iPhone Microphone works!. What I like about this app is it uses the good quality phone mic instead of converting to my low quality headphones like GarageBand does. This makes recording multitrack a much better sounding and easier. If this app had a simple drum machine it would be an absolutely dream!

Handy, capable recording app.. Even though this app is part of a bigger ecosystem that includes Spire hardware, which I’m not using, this works very well for my simple voice recording needs. I’m using a good external mic, and soundcheck really cleans up the sound without overprocessing. The mini-DAW capability is immensely helpful. Would love to see a landscape mode added, as well as being able to zoom into the waveform. Minor inconveniences for me though.

Mic doesn’t work. Bought the spire hardware unit. So excited to use it. Of course the paperwork (or lack thereof) states you’ll be recording in under a minute. It took 4 minutes to download an update before I could even pair it to my phone at all. Then to my disappointment the mic on the unit doesn’t work. It doesn’t pick up sound at all. I decided to plug an external mic in and my guitar in and use it that way. Still nothing. After 2 days of you tube videos and customer service calls I’m sending it back. I’m hoping to buy another unit and pray it works. The concept seems amazing, but for now sadly disheartened.

Absolutely must have for singers who write their own music. This is probably the second time I've ever actually left a review because I really don't like leaving reviews. This app is amazing, keep trying to update it so that I can compare to the studio apps, but I love this app. Would be cool if it was also a beat maker and you could put some effects on the voice like a doubler ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you. Thank you for creating a product literally anyone can use. I have had my spire studio for about 3 years and only just started using it thinking that I was going to have a huge learning curve, but that’s not the case. This literally puts making music into the hands of people like me who have no clue about the tech side. It’s a gift!

Wow! I never was able to figure out GarageBand, but this is so musical!. This is a musician’s best friend. It eliminates the need for the DAW! Those confounding GUIs and unmusical workflows have prevented many musicians from recording anything useful for years, since 4-track recorders went out of style. Instead, we were deluged with computer music. With this app, real performing musicians can take the lead, to drive recorded music to a higher, vastly more useful plain of existence.

Firmware update issue. I bought Spire when it first came out I love it! But recently I tried to download the latest update and it keeps telling me I need to be connected to a network when I already am. I’ve never had this issue before and can’t seem to get an answer as to why it’s happening?

by far THE BEST music writing tool !!!. This tool really allows you the ability to explore different configurations of mixes with SPIRE’s very interesting and easy to use mix interface ... it really has helped hone my mixing abilities In platforms like protools .... And it’s so accessible and quick It keeps me more and more productive ... ideas are never lost .. and they just develop faster now

Isotope Spire. I have been a professional musician for over 40 years and I’m always either jotting ideas on scraps of paper ,writing in my phone or making crap recordings with Memo...the Izotope Spire far exceeded my attempts to get a decent recording of my ideas... it is keeping me good company in these crazy days... can’t thank you enough .. Lou Pfrang

Please add reverb and other effects. I love this app to get ideas down quickly. The mixing feature is so great. One complaint/request: could you PLEASE add reverb, EQ and other effects to the phone version. It is frustrating to get something down I really feel good about and want to send out, but the tracks are dry and I can’t adjust the EQ on anything. Thanks!!

IRig2 Compatible??. Overall, I really like Spire. But it appears that to input your tracks you are dependent on using the iPhone/iPad microphone. I can use iRig 2 using Garage Band, so I know that iRig IS Compatible with iPhone/iPad. Furthermore, I CAN’T export a Spire project to Garage Band. So when I have a Spire project, a workaround would be to export the Spire project to Garage Band, then use iRig 2 to add additional tracks. Do you have a solution, or should I just abandon Spire, learn Garage Band, and start from scratch 😓.

Awesome.. I have had so much fun with this app. It is a great way to pass the time. Also, it allows people like me, who have no musically inclined friends to make cool acapella-type music. Overall it is awesome. The only thing I would change is adding more recording bars to add more elaboration in the music. Other than that, it’s pretty much perfect.

Amazing!. I love this app. I use it with the spire hardware. I’ve recorded multiple covers and og songs and it never ceases to amaze me. I have just one request and it isn’t very important. I wish that it would add clarity to a ukulele, idrc if it gets added, it would just be nice to have it. Just my two cents. Overall it’s an amazing app with so many features. Definitely helping me get a head start on music.😁

The best app ever created.. I’ve been using spire for about 5 years, and recommend everyone has it for quick demoing or workshopping - it started as only 4 tracks and minimal sound effects and oh how far it has come! I love the updates and feel the care involved. This app has truly helped me become a more creative musician and I am forever grateful.

Don’t get the updates it keeps getting worse. I use this app so much but my phone auto updated the newest version and the metronome usability dive bombed. Usually you can turn on the metronome and hit record and you hear the metronome before you start recording. Now... it’s not there... but it appears IN MY TRACKS!!! I can’t hear it when I record but I can hear it in my tracks.. not lining up with the music. This is a major update flaw. Please fix this or your app is unusable.

The Spire. Purchased the Spire Studio about 3-4 days ago and can’t stop taking about it. Already have two friends of mine ordering their own. Overall I understand and enjoy its purpose and all its features. There’s a couple design concerns I have but I’m hoping the company and its engineers that designed this device are working together to make the device the ULTIMATE tool. Upgrade: •Maybe add more than 8 tracks to record on. •16 tracks would be perfect. •Add a copy and paste feature. •Add Autotune as another vocal effect feature. If these changes could be made somehow, I guarantee this device will change the music scene. As if it hasn’t already. Great job.

This app is amazing!. I’ll start off by saying this app has room for improvement however it’s way more complex than you might think. It’s basic for converting vocals or an instrument directly to your daw after recording. It’s also great for storing ideas before recording it in the studio. The audio quality is also magnificent (based on your device) I’m currently on the IPhone 7 and the mic without any major adjustments in the mic with the software sounds almost professional if you know about production or audio engineering. 5 stars because it’s so well put together but personally I’d say 4.5 because I really don’t know if I can drag my tracks.

Just one request. You have to use the spire studio to add effects. I don’t think that’s fair. I am a younger person who can’t afford a really expensive studio. I love this app otherwise but it’s kinda useless without being able to add effect without the studio. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad app just please make it so we at least have a few ways to change are voice or anything like that without the spire studio. Thank you, From a person dying for one little thing to Change on this app.😊😜🙃

Best recording app hand down. There isn’t a better app to record tracks with. I’ve tried many until I got spire out with the old in with the new. I truthfully don’t use any of my daw or anything spire has made making music so much easier it’s hard to believe how simple it is. Thanks for creating such an amazing product.

Great software!. I haven’t purchased the spire studio yet, but even just using the software, I have been able to record with excellent quality. Plus it was so easy to export the tracks to my Mac with airdrop. I’m going to use GarageBand to edit them. My favorite feature though is the automatic sound levels. Just play or sing for a few seconds and they are automatically adjusted!

Cool app.. I’ve had a lot of luck since downloading this app last summer. The mixing box is unique and easy to manipulate and the overall format of the app is easy to use and create/record with. My only real complaint is not being able to use other apps with it like Audiobus or the amp modeling/effect processing apps I have. That aside, it’s my go to for recording now.

My go-to for demos. Very immediate and easy to get several tracks down, and has quality-of-life defaults such as plugging in headphones that have a mic doesn’t cause it to use that crappy headphone mic (looking at you garage band). Also keeps playing when you lock the screen. Only wish I could add some reverb and maybe eq without the spire hardware, but that’s understandable.

Horrible lag. I’m trying to play and record the rhythm and solo from Linkin Park’s “The little things give you away” and for some reason there is about 1/4 of a second delay on my second guitar track. I know I’m rusty on the guitar but my timing isn’t THAT bad. I have no idea what’s going on. They’re so out of sync that even when I’m strumming the exact same chords in the exact same time and pattern that after a few seconds they diverge so much that it becomes a garbled, choppy mess. I can open up another app and immediately play synced up so I know it’s this app. Unfortunately, spire seems to have the best sound quality that I’ve found but I can’t use it. I deleted all tracks besides the two guitar parts because I thought having a bunch might have been causing the lag, even though I hadn’t recorded anything on them yet. I’ve looked through all settings and found nothing helpful. 🤷‍♂️

Pretty lit. Really easy to use, I’ve tried other apps for recording multiple voices separately for a-cappella, and they are either extremely difficult to work out, or just cost money. Seeing as I’m not a professional, the audio seems pretty dang good, but maybe there are better apps for quality, but for me it all works out.

Exactly what I need for composition sketchpad. I'm a professional audio engineer and composer and I've sampled a lot of apps for the purpose of being able to get a sketch of an idea down quickly while it's in my head without having to be in front of my DAW to record it properly, and this is absolutely perfect. iZotope has proven itself time and again, so it should be no surprise that this app is a killer for its intended purpose. Thanks!

Cool but leaves something missing. The app and Spire Studio is great but there’s little things that I wish we could do that seem simple. Something like copy a specific section and be able to paste it. That way ppl Don’t have to re-record hooks , etc. I think they’ve done great with the notes section and UI but little features are missing that I think would make recording better.

For those trying to make Music Anywhere. This is truly an amazing app. I don’t usually write reviews but Spire has really helped me create and build my sound over the past few Months and it’s free! The interface is simple and does its job perfectly, you have ever tool to make any genre of music (Mine is Trap) There really isn’t another app that has this ability to record so easily. 5/5

Spire rocks!. I am a 50-year-old musician with a family and not much time to sit down and record music. The free spire app lets me record in the moment wherever I am using my phone mic. I have been able to record things that otherwise would have been forgotten by the end of the day. Thank you Spire!

Come on Izotope. Man...this was my favorite go to for recording, even if I was in my professional studio..quick easy simple, and great quality if you know what you doing...only thing I’m mad about...is the new effects and so forth are going to be forced on a paid subscription basis. That’s one of the reasons I stopped using pro tools. On top of that, you are forced to pay for life, they don’t even have an option to just pay a one time fee to unlock it forever. Big turn off. Smh. Come on y’all.

Great app, please update!. I love this app paired with my Spire Studio. One thing I’d like to see this app do is function in landscape mode, I often use my iPad Pro to record on the go and it’s usually mounted on its side. It’d be nice to move between this app and other Synth/sound design apps as well as the garage band app all in the same format! If you have it in your hearts, please update GUI!! Rock on.

Great app for on the go musicians. This is a great app for demoing songs, I’ve used similar apps and they don’t compare. I don’t have the hardware but using it straight through my iPhone already sounds amazing, I can imagine how great it would be with the hardware. Just wondering how I can retrieve my old recordings from an old phone, anyone??

Great App!. I love this app because ut allows me to create reference tracks for myself. You can use it place anytime, create your song, then record it at a professional studio. I only have one complaint. When I use all my vocal tracks and want to merge them I have to export them. Then when I want to reimport the merged track, I can't import the instrumental i was using. Other than that the app is solid.

Record at light speed ✨⚡️✨. Only have Spire Studio for two days. I must say it’s very impressive and a different take then traditional recording. While I miss my DAWs, it’s very organic and in your face/moment when recording using spires effects. This is just the beginning of Spire Studio and it’s a lot of fun and getting professional results. Looking forward to the future and new updates!

Observation. I’ve been a musician,songwriter/ singer since I was 13 years old (now 65-😵) my tech skills are sketchy at best, but even me with the use of an I-rig can pull off a decent demo using Spire. My hats off to you guys for an easy format, even though (with C-19) and try ing to run a failing Bussiness can enjoy using this phone app. Thank you......Jay

Wow!!! Seriously!. Okay so as an artist it can be frustrating especially as an iPhone user finding a mobile app that works. It’s even worse when they have the nerve to charge a fortune. This app seriously is so affordable yet so high quality and is the only app that I have NEVER had issues with latency! I had to give a review they deserve it. If you’re a producer feel free to dm me on IG: Neptune_1st

How is this not fixed yet???. developers not supporting their creation. It’s been three years since the last update. Izotope got acquired by native instruments since. The spire is connnected to my wifi. I have the new IOS. I have plenty of storage. yet I’m unable to open my projects, cant record audio, no sound check can’t connect the microphone. I’m getting prompts saying it’s on your end. Fix it or give me a full refund. Also onboard mic is really low. When you plug in the condenser microphone it’s low. When I plug in my headphones to the device I can barely hear anything

Has Made rehearsals and song writing a breeze. Spire Studio has made my band's rehearsals and song writing process a breeze... Especially during these quarantine/Lockdowns we have here. the fact that we can record our ideas and send the to each other to work with is grand. My one request for the developers is to include more pedal/effects for heavy metal bands and singers.\m/ Like a harmonizer for guitars and vocals. keep up the the good work and stay heavy\m/

OMG. This app is beyond amazing! I do voice overs and sometimes I just want to do the audition while I’m out and not goto my studio. (The low paying ones :) This app solved all my problems ... I can’t wrap my head around how amazing it sounds on my IPhone 12. 10 Stars baby!!! Thanks to the engineers and audio nerds that made this happen - you guys and girls absolutely rock!!! - “client 4 life” - Michael

New feature!!. I’ve been using this app for years now and I’ve always said the only thing that would make this better is to be able to search through the projects I just got the update Thanks for a great app and understanding what the end user wants

To Notch Software. I’ve been a software developer for 35+ years, and I’ve seen a lot of user interface designs. This is one of the best I’ve come across. It is clean, simple, intuitive and useful. No wasteful extras; just what is needed. Two small things I would add to the next release would include a separate volume for the metronome and some more instrument icons. I hope they keep to the keep-it-simple design philosophy.

A force to be reckoned with... The future is now, and I was pleasantly surprised to be in such good company. Upon boarding the spire spaceship I knew I was heading somewhere truly unique. The creative flow is only enhanced by the ease of use and sonic beauty held within. Nothing but compliments upon uploading my first song. One that was so easily recorded i won’t ever go back! Join us....be INSPIRED with Spire!

Technology can be amazing; Spire proves it!. I recorded my first album and did everything, entirely by myself. That was 12 years ago on early GarageBand. Spire is like that experience but a million times more amazing, simply because Spire understands technology and the future of music. Enjoy Spire. Appreciate it. How could you not?

Splicing tracks into Loops doesn’t work well. Functionality is backwards that what is logical and intuitive. You should be able to select the section you want to crop into a loop, and it should delete the sections before and after that. Having to manually select the sections before and after the part you want to keep makes no sense, and it’s pretty mind boggling that they haven’t figured this out yet.

In The Early Stages of Development. I love the Spire and it has a lot of potential. With updates happening every week(s) it is improving. I would like to see an easier way to edit specific tracks, such as looping tracks and cutting specific parts of a track without having to re-record. All in all the spite is customer friendly and makes your music sound amazing!

Tools i think should be added. Its a great app, for a beginner in recording and editing like me i will give it a 5 stars but theres some thing i want to point out and hopefully brought up for a better overall experience: -The trimming tool is very limited when you want to remove certain part of a track and keep other parts as it just chops behind the trimming point and after it. -I would also recommend like a cut and paste tool for making recordings easier and more consistent. -And a moving tool, cuz people like me (beginners) often mess up while recording and dont select the right track and get a great take :( So with a tool like that you can just move the take to a desired track. Thats all yall and again great app for a great price😉!

Love it!. This app makes great recordings and is useful if you are trying to work out harmonies or instrumental parts. Good sound quality and features for a free app. I bought a new phone when my old one no longer supported it. I wish it had options to sort songs by name, date, or recently listened to.
