amazing resource. A great app, with a wealth of information for wine lovers and novices alike. The vintage charts are without equal in both thoroughness and usefulness and make the app worth downloading all by themselves.

Mr.. This Vinous app is fantastic. Foremost, it gives mobile access to unparalleled wine reviews by the likes of Antonio Galloni as well as Vintage Charts that help you navigate vintages. It also lets you take a photo of a wine label and store it into a playlist where you can keep track of your favorite. The wine library on the app is expansive and the reviews are the best in the industry.

Vinous is the way to go!. Thank god Galloni left the WA to create Vinous, and thank god I can have Vinous in my pocket! Quite literally, I now have tens of thousands of reviews in my pocket with the app, and now Neal Martin’s banter to boot. Jump ship from WA...Vinous is the way to go.

Incomplete. The app does not have access to the Your Say section of the website or at least the access is not obvious.

Recovery. After reinstalling the app, everything goes normal.

iPad iPad iPad. This app won’t landscape on an iPad. Others have commented about this. You’ve had time. Fix it.

Yay!. Great app for wine reviews and scores. The 100 point system is useful (better than the 5-point system, in my opinion) and Galloni has put together a rockstar group of critics. Between this and Delectable, my wine tech bases are covered!

Poor app. Created an account and the app asked me to pick a subscription and then the app crashed. Now I can’t log in because I don’t have a subscription. Also can’t create an account because I already created an account. Can’t move forward and can’t move back. Glad I did not give them my credit card information.

One Star. On an iPad, the app will not turn to landscape. You cannot search for articles, only wines. It keeps forgetting that I am logged in. It cannot connect with the Delectable app, despite having a button to do so. Also, I signed up for the monthly subscription, and that means that a lot of the content is not accessible. If the article has multiple parts, like an article on Castello di Arma, when you click on the next part of the article, it kicks out to the website (instead of staying in the app), which the monthly subscription doesn’t give access to. So you can read the intro, but none of the content. In short, if you’re not going to sign up for the $140/year, I’m not sure what you get. The scores are available other places for free, Delectable gives the reviews for a monthly charges and also more wines community rated as well, and you can’t get complete articles or search articles without the website.

Subscription paid both says it won't restore. I bought the year subscription thru the app, credit card was charged but the app doesn't reflect the subscriptions as purchased. When I try to restore the subscription in the app it says I need to buy a subscription. When I go thru the buy process again it says I already have one and need to restore it. Then the app locks up and I have to shut down and restart. I sent an email over a week ago for app support and received no response. So now am asking for a refund from the apple App Store. Really nice customer experience - NOT!

Disfunctional. This app would have been primitive 10 years ago. It’s hard to believe that accomplished, respected professionals would put their reputations and their brand on the line with something so poorly designed and built. It’s easy to create a good and even great version of this. Why have they not?

No content without $$$$. Just to make it clear, there is almost no content until you register with your email address. Subscriptions START at $140 per year, minimum. There is login with Google and FB but no login with Apple, which is a requirement as of April. Better add it soon or get banned.

Ditto. Useless app.. Can’t sign up without giving away fb or google info.

Vinous. Amen, GabbiDL!

Love it. Great app and ecosystem. I don’t buy wine anymore with out Vinous.

So dependable. I’ve depended on Vinous reviews sin AG started the company and find them consistent and reliable.

Could be much better. Crashes regularly after opening of approx 1 minute. Nearly nonexistent drinking windows referenced in the reviews. Reviews are scanty with data. Reviews are rarely updated. Only buy this if you already have Wine Advocate and Cellar Tracker. This not a primary wine evaluation tool. This app is better than Wine Spectator, however, beneath WA and CT.

Great Content/Pain to Navigate. I love the content and insight and vintage charts. Why do I need to scroll all the way back to the top of the article in order to navigate back to the previous page? Why can’t I view the content in landscape mode on my iPad? These are pretty easy fixes to make the experience more friendly and should be part of the app for paying subscribers. ESR

Fantastic to learn more about wine. I really like this app. I've been getting into wine for the last couple of years and the reviews from experts really help me understand it better. The glossary of wine terms is also very helpful to me.

STUPIDITY at its finest!. Read and article recommending this App in maclife and thought I'd give it a try. You can't use the App unless you have an account. The problem is THESE IDIOTS DON'T LET YOU SET UP AN ACCOUNT! Who thought up that one? I suppose I could try the 'log in with Facebook' option but I'm not so stupid to give them access to my Facebook account. Sorry, I'll find something else. I'm even willing to pay to maintain some semblance of privacy.

Not much help. The site is long on wine puff and short of usable wine selection information. The site is not user friendly as to the limited amount wine data. Would not recommend If vinous responds can you recommend a better and more useful site. Thx

Thought it might be cool. I had this app and thought it would be cool To compare wines I’ve rated to a pro. Turns out they are now charging you for that feature and a lot ... a lot of wines are not even rated. It’s like following someone on Instagram and not being able to have your own input.

Great reviews, great articles, good app.. From the heart and head of a Vinous-addict, Vinous should bring the app up to the standards of its reviews and articles.

The reviews are what matter. There is no question that Vinous has the best reviewers and that's what counts. I use this app all the time when trying to choose wines. It has saved me thousands of dollars of bad choices. Galloni says it's bad an I steer clear. Tanzer likes a wine... good investment. I get that it is annoying for some people to pay for good information but if you pay peanuts (or nothing) you should get monkeys (or nothing. Really helpful app. Good tools. Nice to look at. All good.

An Amazing Resource. This app is tremendously helpful in helping me learn more about the wines I own as well as the wines I’m considering purchasing. Furthermore, the regularly-published articles help me learn more about the physical and historical origins of various wines I’m interested in. Additionally, the filtering options for the wine search really help provide context on my searches so I can find just what I’m looking for. The design could use some work but it’s gotten better since I originally downloaded it and I have to imagine someone’s working on it based on how often they push updates. Definitely recommend Vinous to wine lovers everywhere!

Problem. It may be great, but I'll never know, because it makes you log in with either FaceBook or Google. No thanks.

Could not register. Could not register. After entering all the required information, I was not able to complete my registration. Will be deleting the app.

The Holy Grail of Wine Review Apps. Here it is, and it's fantastic. Wine reviews on-the-go and immediately and easily accessible from the most knowledgeable wine experts on the web. The design of the app is simple and intuitive. In a word, terrific!

Excellent resource for new suggestions. Recently introduced to this app through a family member. It hasn't failed me yet. Great source for new wine suggestions.

No way to purchase a subscription in app?!?!. Downloaded the app and launched it expecting to be prompted to subscribe. Instead there is only an option to log in, with no option to subscribe. I even tried an incorrect login but that didn't bring up an option to subscribe either. What's the point?

Vinous is great, it’s app needs some work. Vinous and it’s reviewers are my #1 source for reliable reviews. I am in tune with the tastes and preferences of each of the reviewers. The developers should improve the app’s search feature to distinguish between articles and wine reviews, and they should add the great chats and discussion fora that are available on the website. Keep up the good work !

Can’t subscribe. When I try to subscribe the app crashes.

Great App. This is a great app for the wine lover. It allows you to easily scan labels as you are shopping for wine at the store. Also, I have used it at restaurants by typing the wine into the app. Gives you access to tons of wine reviews that cover the vast majority of the fine wine market. I don't understand the complaint about the iPad. I can't imagine wandering about a wine store or at a restaurant with an iPad looking up wines. Great app.

Help. Signed up vis App Store and it won’t allow me to access anything. What is up.......

Great app!. Easy to use, great app. The articles are a great way to learn more about wine especially for a wine lover like myself!

Sleek and easy to use. I love the app when I’m choosing new wines I haven’t tried before and I want to make sure they’re worth the money. It looks like other users don’t like to sign in with google or Facebook but as I use google for most things I don’t have a problem with it.

Best Site Available. Absolutely the best wine site available. Galloni is doing everything right...from hiring the best writers to understanding the importance of allocated and DTC and timing his reviews to provide assistance. I trust his palate and value his insights.

Easy to get stuck. When you're navigating through to various parts of the app, it easy to find yourself without a back button or a menu item to select. However I did find that the top section is where you swipe 'back' to see previous pages. Clever, but not too clear. Wish the articles were more interesting, and the content more helpful without having to pay. Such as 'try a week of vinous for free before paying'.

Amazing!. Amazing app! I’ve learned so much about wine and I love the daily articles, they’re so insightful! Highly recommend

App has been broken for a while. Search no longer works. Forcing me to renew, even though my sub has not expired. Just using the website works fine.

Great for wine lovers. As per my title, this app is great for wine lovers like me. I've been subscribed to Vinous since it first launched but actually having the app is a huge plus. Also, the vintage chart is fantastic and super convenient to have on my phone.

Make over. This app really meads to be updated. One can not look at it in horizontal view. A log of the searches lead to no results, because the search function is just plain bad. This app could be so much more! It has the best wine tasters in the world writing for it, but a terribly bad app. Please fix it.

This app is a big deal. This is an important and forward thinking app, from the right people. It will quickly become the number one consumer wine app, in my opinion. Any issues it has now, I'm confident they will resolve. I will keep it downloaded and continue to test it. That said, I've encountered some issues: I currently don't have a paid subscription, and a pop up repeatedly reminds me of this making use of the free features cumbersome. Second, the app camera failed to identify Grasso 2011 Barolo, Cavallotto 2013 Dolcetto or Dievole 2013 Chianti... wines I'd be surprised weren't in the Vinous system. That's it for now. Congratulations on the beautiful app, I can't wait to see how it expands the wine world.

Seach. Respect Vinous reviews but its database search is well in need of help.

Glitchy. Terrible app won’t let me sign up just look up the wine this rip off is not worth it.

Great data source!. I can almost always find the wine in question! Great info about the wine and a source for purchase, too!

Great content but needs technical improvement. I’m an user of Vinous, Wine Advocate, Jancis Robinson and Cellar Tracker and here is how they compare. Jancis Robinson (JR) has the best search function, best focus on quality value and most poignant reviews. Their articles are also a treat to read. In the better known regions they have a consistent history of scores by JR herself and by Julia Harding. In the satellite regions, there is not much consistency between vintages due to changing critics and their chose winemakers. Everyone scores a little different - JR is predictably strict and Walter Speller gives 17.5 to pretty much every decent wine, while some other authors like my beloved Tamlyn Curryn may get infatuated. That is all correct and truthful, because it shows the fallibility of numerical scores and exposes the wine to the critic’s tastes, as it should be. For that reason, JR is the most honest. The scoring seems to express the potential of the earliest recommended drinking age but definitely not the full potential of the wine. What JR definitely lacks is the side note or addendum to wine notes, that would further reveal the wines character. Wine Advocate has the most prosaic and journalistic style of notes. It also has a lot of consistent history, even in satellite regions. It has a great reach among prestigious wineries and is stylistically quite descriptive in wine notes. With closed wines like young Barolos, the notes are long but say little about the taste and more about production, but that is all understandable. I suppose the scoring tends toward the wine’s full potential, often being 1-2 points higher than JR or Vinous. Vinous, conversely, I find strict and dry. Especially Neal Martin. He uses the low end of the score scale as freely as the high end, offering greater resolution than critics who squeeze most scores into a narrower score band. And yet, he is not that useful for my purposes. His notes are too factual, authoritative and judgemental to reveal the emotional energy of wine that I need to understand before buying. Antonio Galloni is a much more complete critic in this sense, with just as wide a range of scores even if a little more benevolent at times. I wish he scored even truer to his personal bias than by seemingly objective metrics of quality. My favourite Vinous author is Stephen Tanzer. His writing is like a woman’s: insightful in every important way. Vinous, just like Wine Advocate, are extremely useful for their wine note addendums, where the character of the vintage or production methods are explained, and sometimes purchasing tips are revealed. The best resource of them all is CellarTracker. Rarely does it have fewer notes than all of the above combined and it goes well beyond barrel samples and young pre-release bottlings. Yes, it takes much more time to research which user to trust, but then you get a historical line of comparisons across a producer’s range or the region’s best. It’s the best tool for wine discovery and all of my hidden gems come from there. It’s also free. Just don’t look at the score average for a wine because many notes seem inaccurate. I admire all of the above, including the tens of thousands of willing wine reviewers on CellarTracker. There’s a lot to choose from.

Would be great if app worked. In my first attempt to subscribe to this app for 3-months I went through the motions in AppStore, completed purchase, the app charged my credit card, the Vinous App said I didn't have a subscription. I tried again, again, again and it didn't work. Finally reached out to Vinous and Apple and got it to work. The 3-month subscription came and went and I tried to renew. Same darn problem. Once this thing works, the content is great. But come on guy! This is annoying!

Love love love. This app is for everybody! For the wine lovers who are interested in learning more about wine, there are daily articles that are super helpful. For someone who is just getting into wine, this app allows you to see reviews in order to help you choose the perfect bottle.

A shocking disappointment. Really, in 2016 an app like this that only is designed for the iPhone??? I'm tired of apps that disappoint like this. It's compatible with the iPad it lists in the info. Sure, it shows up but as an iPhone app rather than an iPad App. It certainly is not ready for the iPad Pro. Yes, I could have searched in the app store and realized it was only for the iPhone, woe is me. This type of app should have a universal or iPad specific version. They have GREAT information for the user and that's why it gets a 3 and certain only never will get a 5 until re-designed.

The web site is unfortunately superior to the app. Searching for articles or wine works far better on the web site than the iPhone app. (I mean typing Vinous.com into safari on your iPhone.) On the web site, you can find Burgundy articles (France:Burgundy, although you have to know to select the strangely named 'Sort Options' button.) As far as I know, you can't do this at all on the app. Searching for reviews is nearly as bad. The Advanced search feature on the web site isn't perfect, but you can usually find what you want pretty easily. Not so with the app. The shame is that the Vinous team is working hard to put out a ton of great content but making it unnecessarily difficult to find that content.

Great app. Great articles and reviews!!!

Insightful, clear, concise and humorous. I have been selling wine for a wholesaler fit 20 years. I have read Antonio and Neal since their Advocate days.Great in-depth writingAnd so happy to see folks finally take their wine maps seriously! Keep up the great work

Solid app.. Easy to navigate- review search is what I mainly use.
