Beautiful but crazy hard. I have been programming for decades, and even I found this little app very difficult. On the other hand, it is fun, and beautiful. A lot of work went into this, but if it is trying to teach programming, it is only going to succeed for the first few levels, and then (IMHO) it will be too frustrating for most. Then again, for a few, it will be a serious challenge! If you're looking for something that requires intense logic and is extremely difficult, this is your game. :-)

Good programming lesson. As a professional programmer I quite enjoyed this. It was short, only a couple hours to beat (not perfect) all the levels. However for non programmers it will give you a real look at some very common programming problems. Well worth the 99c.

Where’s the soundtrack?. Got this game years ago aspiring but got stuck. I remember the soundtrack being incredible and now I can’t seem to get it to play in game. Either way I learned that zero has a value.

Cant turn off sound.. It's a great game, just wish you could turn sound and music off so you can listen to your own music.

Interesting game but device orientation lock causes my brain to melt. I want to play this game when I go to bed. I sleep on my side. But the game flips over and doesn’t respect iOS orientation lock. It’s a good game but this ruins the fun when you can’t play it sideways.

somewhat fun, but loses data. This simulates a simple CPU. There is only one register and no subroutine calls. The worst feature is if you write a partial program and did not run it, you could lose the program if this app gets deactivated by ios when sitting in the background.

Fun introduction to assembly language but buggy. There seems to be a bug on level 20 where it always wants the last answer to be zero, even when that is incorrect. This is blocking further progress and is quite frustrating. A fun introduction to assembly language, but you quickly learn how tedious assembly can be.

Unfortunately lacking. I wish this game would let me stop the numbers from changing at each attempt Programming is already abstract enough, please allow for static numbers!

It's great but..... I was able to progress through the levels, but I still felt like I was at a low level the entire time.

Authentic Brain Exercise. This game is for critical thinkers. This is not a puzzle game to waste idle time, it requires focus and analysis. If you’re looking for something to stroke your ego look elsewhere. Best puzzle game in the store in 2017, no doubt.

Great intro for engaging aspiring coders. I work with kids (and some adults), introducing app development and coding. I always recommend this to those just getting started. They have all loved it.

Love this Game!. Only item I would like to see improved is the comments. I like the ability to draw in the comments but maybe you could also make an option to type? Im not really able to be as detailed as I'd would like to be. I can barely draw one 4 letter word. Absolutely amazing game though!

Good But Could be Great. This is a really great concept and fun to play. But they need to decide if their goal is to teach people to be smarter or to make them feel stupid. The only help you are given is in the form of either an example of the result or being chided when you get something wrong. This is an inventive and sly way of teaching without being overbearing. However, it gets frustrating in some of the higher levels. Like having to find out that you can add and subtract letters just by chance. Some of the instructions seem to be deliberately misleading. And the lack of additional commands as you progress is needlessly unrealistic. Why not make them available then make the more challenge bit the optimization of not using them? Overall, I had fun with the game and think it would be a great teaching tool for kids. But they need to make it more accessible if they don't want people to just hit a level they can't pass and abandon the game. And new puzzle packs would be great.

Absolutely Awesome. The design and production quality of this game are top-notch. The levels start out simple but get very challenging, plus there are optional levels and optimizations that really bend your noodle if you want to take them on. It basically teaches you how a computer CPU works at its lowest level, and how to program it at that level (assembly). This is great knowledge that even many professional programmers lack these days. Highly recommend if you like logical problem solving!

he not busy being born is busy dying. I share the developers' cynicism. We are in a mindless bureaucratic march toward nothing. But if I'm going to waste my life staring at screens, solving meaningless puzzles that have already been solved by someone else and are solvable much more easily by computer programs that have already been built—if I am to be boxed in by machines that quantify my every move—it's at least nice when the pointless puzzles are challenging. So thanks. Maybe I should go outside and play now.

Love the game but a few bugs. I love the game for it's simplicity, but gets hard through out the game with optional levels. But I've been having issues with level 30 (string storage floor) where the game doesn't allow me to use the address feature correctly. Also it changes how many of some letters are needed to "complete" the level. Enough that it's impossible to beat. Hope it gets fixed in an update.

Rare Game with Non-Trivial Puzzles & Character. Wonderful game. Great way tonelagem procedure thinking too. (I’ve even assigned it as HW as a way to build familiarity with procedural thinking and implication. Most programming tools just teach you commands and don’t help people develop thinking habits they need to program.) Great game if you like logic puzzles and games with character.

Smarter for having played!. This is the most fun game I've played on my ipad. I'm proud to have beaten every level! Maybe not most efficiently, so I'm revisiting to see where I can improve. This is one of the few games where beating it gives a real sense of accomplishment. It isn't a mindless tap the screen game. Your brain will be challenged and you will emerge smarter afterwards!

Very cool puzzle game. I really love how challenging this game is. The backstory is a very funny spoof of the corporate world and there is great satisfaction in being able to solve the higher levels. It is really well designed with entertaining graphics and sound effects. I highly recommend this.

A real fun game for programmers. This puzzle game is a must have ! If you are seriously into puzzle games , you love this one and I meant SERIOUS! I'm an not a programmer, though I do have little experience. It's pretty cool . You have have be good at basic mathematics and also figure out how to multiply without multiplication. I love this game , it makes you think and stimulates your brain. Don't say I didn't warn you 😉😉😉

Cute and engaging. The graphics are simple and cute. The problems are all nicely paced to each get harder but never with too big of a jump in difficulty from one level to the next. I started playing it with my 7 year old and, with only a little help reading the instructions, he has been able to figure out what to do and really likes the game as well.

A real thinker. Wanna talk about a puzzle game? Do you enjoy using your brain? Look no further. A lot of "puzzle" games these days are just button pressers where the challenge comes from connecting all the same shapes in a line so that they can disappear. Not much challenge to that besides deciding whether it not you should spend money to turn off the annoying ads. I was lucky enough to buy this game on sale for $1 and I am very happy with that decision. Not only do I love this game... I also hate if for how much it pushes you to think outside of the box. At one point, I found myself doing a google search on mathematical theory. Not my proudest moment at age 26... If you a looking for a challenge that will keep you up at night thinking about possible solutions, then buy this game. If you get frustrated easily and rage quit (or dont feel like shelling out the $5) then maybe go back to the dot connectors. Also, don't worry about spending $5 and the game ending too soon. There are like 40+ levels and they start getting pretty hard by 15. Im still stuck on level 23 and to be honest I stumbled through the previous 2. This game will take a lot of thinking time (unless you are a genius or something).

Best Game Ever. This is the funnest game i have ever gotten from the app store. The programing is easy to get the hang do to the simple commands. The step back and debug feature is by far one of the best featured. It helps me through every level. One problem (and one nitpick) TL DR version level broken On the level zero terminated sum you get a zero terminated string ( a bunch of numbers ended with a zero) and you have to add all of those numbers up then give them the result i have a program that worked before no problem but now when i run the same program on the same level it dose not work. The last string always says it should add up to 0 but it never dose in real life (i.e. 1 3 -5 0) added up equals -1 but it says my answer should be zero every time even though the numbers never equal zero. Minor nitpick The game is meant for large screens play on tablet if possible but still works on phone

Great game!. This game is pretty awesome, if I do say myself. Having prior knowledge to coding helped me with the first few levels, but had to look for help after a few levels. I recommend having a small amount of coding knowledge before playing so you won’t get completely stuck. And like the app says, because of it difficulty, it’s better if you play this ages 9 and over. Soy out🌱

The game that doesn't condescend. It's tough! Just like world of goo, it pushes you to think creatively and solve complex puzzles. It's got a weird sense of humor and doesn't give you tons of "hints." It challenges you to figure things out … and when you do, its rally satisfying!

OBSESSED. This is one of my favorite games I’ve ever played. It’s so clever and so fun, and is a real challenge. My only complaint is I wish there were more levels so I could play forever! These same people also made a game called World of Goo, which I had blazed through before this game came around, so I knew Human Resources Machine was going to be good before going in. These people can do no wrong.

Not amazing but decent. They need to have locking screen orientation. The minimal basic options are poor. The game itself is decent. It’s polished and I appreciate the hard work designing a friendly debugger. The optimizations are the main fun of the game, the levels and instructions themselves are reasonable. Polish and design 5/5. Basic quality of life features 3/5. Puzzles and gameplay 4/5. Price and platform implementation 3/5. Story 4/5.

New favorite game. This game got me so jacked up on math and puzzle solving! I recommended it to all of my friends. Fun story line and great art. ❤️❤️❤️ forever. I will be sad when I have completed all the levels.

Decent Sequence Puzzles. Human Resource Machine is a decent game, if you can actually call it a game. It basically just involves trying to put commands in the correct sequence to move things from A to B. It isn’t necessarily exciting (or fun), but the sequence puzzles provide more of a challenge as the game progresses. That said, HRM doesn’t support iCloud to sync your progress, so you’re out of luck if you want to delete the game without losing your progress, or play on multiple devices. It is also disappointing that HRM lacks support for GameCentre, and doesn’t include any form of achievements.

i feel humiliated…. I'm stuck at level 9 because I've been looking for the relationship between input and output. I thought it was an arithmetic sequence or a proportional sequence relationship, or something like that. But after I checked the strategy, I realized that it turned out to be a simple relationship like A-B and B-A. I feel like my IQ has been insulted. Telling the player directly what the relationship between input and output is is much better than telling the player a test case and letting him guess.

On your own. This game challenges you more than it teaches you. It gives a task and doesn’t assist in the solution at all. If you’re wanting to learn programming for the first time, this game discourages you more than it assists your growth. It seems this game is for programmers that want small challenges.

fun but disappointing end. The puzzles were great, though they got hard very fast. Finally resorted to paper to organize my thoughts. Kids may quickly find it becoming too difficult. Expected more in the last video too. All the other videos were excellent though. The only part that really bothered me was using the editing board when the program became long. Scrolling up and down frequently dragged a command out of place. The undo button was at the bottom so you could not always see what was undone. Otherwise a fun and challenging game.

Amazing. This game is amazing. Faintly cute and extremely clever and witty, this game is a mind-boosting treat. Though challenging, once you solve a puzzle, you feel so satisfied with yourself! I highly recommend this game.

Great Game. We want to be able to hear the sound affects of the game with but with our own music.. Please add this I want it to save my progress to iCloud

One of the best apps I ever played!. Simply amazing! I feel like I robbed somebody only paying a dollar for this... it's worth much much more!! Then again, I did do a lot of virtual work here for a fake corporation for free, so we'll call it even. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get their prime number program operational though!!! Thanks though guys this game was great. I hope you keep developing apps. The fireplace one is also great too- but this one is my favorite!

omg am I programming?. Great puzzle game, great style, great music. I was definitely a few puzzles in before I realized it was teaching me programming.. I just reflex-downloaded the game bc of World of Goo and Little Inferno.. All three games are very stylish, and very different kinds of fun.

Two years, one update, nothing new. This is a decent game to understand the procedural way machine language works as well as the most rudimentary programming. Sorely needs more levels and functions would be a great addition. But 2 years and the only update was for the new iPhone X line of phones. Very disappointed, so I updated my review from 4 to 2 stars.

Great mind-twisted. This game is a great little puzzler with tight mechanics and a great feel. Also, it teaches you how computers do basic math, manipulate strings, and use memory! This is the first really compelling educational game I've seen in a while.

Possibly the best five dollars I have ever spent. -good puzzles addressing real fundamental programming tasks and logic -compelling visual design, really smooth graphics and game dynamics -recursive hilarity I would much rather support these guys than buy that $7 latte.

Lose progress on restore. I bought this on release, played quite a bit, and then lost all my progress when I needed to restore my phone (not a problem with other games). I picked it up again earlier this week...and today lost all progress after a restore from backup. Why isn't progress part of backups? Fantastic otherwise. The challenges add a great dimension.

Good game on iPad - rotation bugs plague iPhone. This is an amazing game and spend the money if you will only play it on the iPad. If you try to use an iPhone, there’s an annoying bug where is nags you constantly to rotate away from landscape mode. Also, the support link has no support contact that I could read on the iPhone. Lots of FAQ about steam but no iOS support from the support link. Bad on Apple for approving that metadata. I’ll give the developer a pass and 5 stars since the app is good and maybe they didn’t realize their support link was supposed to help people get support.

Unbelievably awesome. Every time you figure out the puzzle, it makes you feel like a genius. I pop my collar after every level I beat :). Polished and unique, which is rare on the App Store. Thanks guys for a truly amazing experience.

No Save File export. Looking to upgrade your phone? Goodbye save data. This application doesn’t integrate its save with iCloud backup or Game Center. Probably won’t play it until this is fixed.

Very fun and addicting. I was very surprised at how much I like this game, didn’t think a game about basic programming would be this fun. Some of the levels are deceptively simple, and some are simply deceiving.... I don’t have any programming experience so it was a challenge to think in the way needed, I’m a visual person so I find that running through the programs while building them to see what should come next helps. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that it’s too short, there hasn’t been any updates to add levels and there isn’t a player-built level system to build and submit new levels. Also they could have added a more challenging set of programs to complete with higher level commands, at the very least new level packs should be added, I’d be more than happy to pay for new level packs as I imagine others would as well. Overall it’s a great game, and I really hope they expand on what they created.

I never write reviews. This app is the exception to my rule. Challenging and fun. Just to show how challenging it is, I worked on Level 21 for about 5 days and was convinced that there was a bug in the game that needed to be fixed. This seems to be a common misconception among many reviewers, and I also fell for it. But NO! Level 21 is not flawed, I just wasn't paying attention and thinking it through. This app is awesome. I just completed level 21, and now I can't wait to get to move on. I'm almost 50, by the way, with a graduate degree heavy in maths. Thank you for such a great app. I would give it 10 stars, if possible.

Great port, great game.. I’ve actually owned this game on Steam for a while, but never felt to much like playing it in the computer. This version is great to solve puzzles on the go. I’d recommend a stylus if you’re using a phone instead of a tablet though because stuff is fairly small. The game itself starts simply and quickly gets challenging. Optional levels and optimization challenges also add extra difficulty for those who are geniuses. Overall it’s a good experience for the thinker. Worth $5 in my opinion.

Fantastic Puzzle game. I love this on the PC and when I saw it on iOS I had to pick it up. Hope to see a sequel or new challenges in the future.

Amazing Logic Puzzles. I am a non-coder that enjoys the idea of coding. This is a fantastic game. Very hard to get the optimum score on each level (i.e., the most efficient / effective program) so even after you win there’s very often more to do if you choose to go for a gold standard.

Brilliant game. What a wonderful gem. In 5 years of having an iPhone, this is hands down the most satisfying game I've played. I paid the full $4.99 for it I feel it is worth every penny. Buy this game if you like to be challenged and learn while playing without feeling frustrated. Kudos development team, hopefully other developers follow your lead.

Fantastic game but unbelievable that save games are not backed up. I would give this game 8 stars if only it would allow me to continue my progress on a new phone. Instead I have to re-solve all of the challenge problems, which just kills my motivation to pick it back up. WHY doesn’t this sync to iCloud for saves, or at the very least why aren’t the save games included in my iTunes backup?

Great for new programmers. The lower reviews seem to be because people don't know the game is for learning program logic. This game helped me understand how to create loops and get my head around programming logic. The game does get hard towards the end for me as a newbie to programming but the levels are all do able through trial and error. I would recommend this for year 10-12 kids doing programming courses like software design.

Lousy game. This game is horrible, not worth it 👎👎🏻👎🏽👎🏾👎🏿

A puzzle in a game. I’m a programmer I loved this. One day I’m going to finish it.

Awesome. Love it, worth the $$ but if you're unintelligent or don't like to think, don't get it.

Great game but allow music. I want to listen to my own music while playing.

Good Game!. I Showed My Grade Six Teacher Mr A And He Said It Looks Very Educational And I Gave It A 4 Star Because Some Levels Could Use A Bit For Explanation Good Job Keep Up The Good Work Guys 😀😀😀👍👍👍😀😀😀

Simply Innovative. It's great to see a game mixed with programming skills and fun. I haven't yet seen a game like this and I think it's the best game I've played. It's surely worth buying.

Entry in a New Age. Everyone needs to play this. Coding is the future and it makes it so easy to learn and comprehend.

Great game to learn coding basics. This game has a really nice interface and it is very clear instructions. The concept isn't new - TIS100 on steam did it about 8 months ago, but it is enjoyable. Lots 1 star because of price and thus far ( I'm 22 levels in) the mailroom concept has gotten a little stale. Could use some more entertainment.

Awesome game good challenge. Is a really great game that has just the right amount of a challenge to be fun but not too much to make you want to give up. Need an expansion with more challenges.

A great little game. Anyone with basic computer knowledge can do it. Kids will ace it. More levels please.

More than your average puzzle game. This game looks like your usual puzzle game at first glance, but as you progress it really challenges you. Would definantely recommend playing.

Awesomely dystopian!. A very well thought out and engaging intro to programming. I love the bleak corporate ambiance and the sub-plot videos between the challenging programming puzzles! Hope there is a sequel with some more programming puzzles!

Don't waste your money. Don't waste your money on this app like I did. Not worth it

Haven't had this much fun since TIM, BUT. Love the game, but it seems to want was to rotate into portrait mode (little animated icon in top left) - it doesn't respond when I do, and the icon just stays there and actually gets kind of annoying. Otherwise, great game - good work!

A great game. This is a great game being fun whilst also being challenging

Gr8 m8 I r8 8/8. -be me -be playing this game for 5 days - been stuck on level 28 for 3 of those days -about to have a warm bath with a running toaster 10/10 must buy

Fun with extra challenges. The most fun I've had with assembly in years (or possibly ever). Some nice optimization challenges for numbers of instructions and for number of cycles. Also cute as anything.

Deserves zero star rating. It looked an interesting game and started out well but it doesn't work! No way to start playing the game. Ripped off

Full marks. Thoroughly enjoying this one. Great balance of challenge, fun and novelty. Worth the $ for mine.

this game is super boring. It's not worth. Don't buy it.

Finally !!. Finally a game that challenges you to think.

Take all my money please!!!. I love this game so much!!! I literally can't put it down!!! An fun game and also a great introduction to programming in a "sneaky so you don't even realise you're learning useful skills" way.

Great game. Really good game. Seems to teach the basics of assembly, or what happens down at CPU level when you ask a computer to multiply a number.

Computer Science 101 but more FUN. Excellent game. Great value at $0.99. I really liked the challenges. Would have be nicer if have more loop option, but then it may become too easy. Well done!

Loved it!. Really enjoyed this game! It taught me about coding in a fun and enjoyable way, and it kept me thinking all day about solutions to the problems. Got to the very end and got SO close to solving the last puzzle but just couldn’t work it out. It just needs a solver or a way for you to look up the answers for when you’re stuck. I need closure!

Improve cues. I just started game so will leave neutral review for now but wanted to feedback important point right at the beginning 1. Provide a diagram of 'how to drag the inbox outbox icons into the work area'! Don't assume people know what your programmers know. Make things intuitive

Witty and funny, and very geeky.. This clever game presents the basics of computer coding in the form of logic and maths puzzles, with a dash of humour to make the learning process fun. Even if you're new to programming, the essential skills are clearly presented and easy to pick up... but playing through the whole game is another matter. There are fewer than 40 puzzles in total, but the more complex they become, the more thought they require and the longer they take to solve. This means you get many hours of entertainment, boosted by the added challenge of trying to improve your puzzle solutions to meet the size and run-time goals. For me, Human Resource Machine offered loads of enjoyment and satisfaction, and I found myself feeling aglow with pride each time I solved a difficult puzzle. However, it is pitched at a niche market, and not everyone will find it so worthwhile. This game is fantastic for logic buffs and computer geeks - but it is likely to overwhelm anyone else.

Zero Terminated Sum. Bugs at ZTS and requires a 0 as output regardless of inputs.

Love it!!!. It so nice to work out the puzzles and watch your little guy work away!

I'm a programmer and I love it. Great introduction for non-programmer types. Gets challenging but so rewarding.

NOT UPDATED FOR SO LONG. Not playing it until its updated and optimised for iphone X. Good game but cmon update plz.

Mute option does not allow me to play audio from another app while I play. I'd like to listen to a podcast while I play this game.

Now on iPad!. Wonderful number logic game from the creator of World of Goo! Need more levels!

Amazingly challenging logic game. I absolutely love this game, it requires concentration and is so satisfying.

Crashing on Launch ios14. I love this game, but it has been crashing on launch for me since updating to ios14.

Fantastic and Challenging. If you already know how to program or would like to learn this game is for you. Starts out with easy to understand tutorial level and ramps up to be really challenging. Absolutely worth the money!!!

Great game. Inbox Copy to 0 Loop Bump+ 0 Loop Infinite counting machine :D But in all seriousness, it's a really well made game, and a great intro into coding

Brilliant. Inside your computer/ipad/iphone is a Central Processing Unit. The closest thing your computer has to a brain. This game is cleverly teaching you some of the basic skills you need to program the CPU directly but doing it in a very clever and fun way. That probably makes it sound scary but it's actually quite fun. Try this. Play this game for a while then Google "assembly language programming" and read about what that is. You'll probably realise you've actually been developing many of the skills you need to learn it.

Loving it!!!. Probably basic to anyone born after the year 2000 but it gets my grey matter working using a topic I enjoy!

Good introduction to programming.. A nice little starter to introduce programming, exposing people to the intricacies of logical processes. For the novice, it does start to ramp up in difficulty pretty quickly. Would be nice to have a few more loops (eg "if not zero", or "if positive"). On the whole, pretty good to get you thinking - nice little quirky app. Well done.

Awful!. So glad I only wasted 99c on this rubbish. Really loved their other games but this is awful. Delete...

Spectacular. This game reminds me of assembly language. Mixed with a gloomy satirical backstory, the challenges really become fun and interesting to solve.

Nice little for people with strong logic skills. This game is extremely fun if you enjoy logic puzzles.

For Assembler Maniacs!. This is a fun coding app. The challenges are to develop assembler-like code within size, speed and efficiency limits. To master the speed and efficiency challenges you have to adopt some tricky coding practices that would be likely to be discouraged using more powerful programming languages. As a retired programmer who spent his first 5 years writing mainframe assembler, I found this a fun challenge.

Hard but fun!. It is a really addicting game with many beautiful details! It can be played longer than what I thought because to achieve the request is actually hard! Anyway, this game is worth the cost

A compilation of coding puzzles. This one will be pushed to the top of the charts in no time. I just wish someone would give me some pointers!

100% worth it!. Love this game a lot. Highly recommended to people who love logic games, it is not very difficult to finish each level but it requires quite a lot of thinking to satisfy the tasks (eg how to finish a level within 10 steps when you have 12). It is pretty much a programmer game.

Fantastic game. I have been looking for a game teaching the basics on programming and computer logic. This is a perfect example. What I love about this game is that not only do you need to find a solution but to optimize your solution.

Great game. This game taught me how to hack the pentagon!!! Just kidding. It's a fun and educational game.

Mind-bending amazingness. The most challenging game I've ever played on iOS. And it's fun too. My brain hurts!!! PLEASE GIVE US MORE LEVELS😍😍😍😍😍

Fun App. I taught programming in high school in the 80’s when computers were just making there way into classrooms. BASIC, Pascal and FORTRAN. This app brings back those days of real problem solving.

Well done. I own little inferno and world of goo and was impressed with both titles so I picked this one up and boy was I satisfied. Once again this company has taken a simple concept and turned it into an engaging experience that is perfect for mobile gaming.

Need update to iPhoneX. Update

Great for practicing logic.. If logic is naturally not your strong suit, this game is excellent for refining your method of thinking. It’s simple (in the beginning), challenging, and fun. This game is very well designed in that you unknowingly adapt to new thought processes. After getting to a later level, I had gone back to optimize my code from previous levels. It was terribly inefficient, but at the time I could not see any other solution. That feeling of growth is very rewarding. Cannot recommend this game any more. 10/10, excellent game.

Fun and educational. An amazing introduction to programming. Great difficulty progression and lots of fun. Lots of extra challenges for experienced programmers.

Good game but no cloud save. First thing first this game is great. Really fun and challenging. The only issue which isn’t acceptable in this day and age is there’s no way to transfer your save between devices. I recently got a new phone and lost all my progress and now the only way to finish is to use my old phone?

Missing iCloud sync. Started playing on my phone but wanted to switch to a larger screen. Progress wasn't transferred over to iPad.

C. You really need to be smart for this game. This is not for the casual gamer.

Amazing!!. I LOVED IT! It's a good game for starters, and it's very fun! Hightly reccomended for 0.99!

Computing fun. Dystopia visual, deadpan faces, story that goes nowhere + cold logical puzzles.

Good game for coders. I have some experience solving programming problems, and I enjoyed the game so far (I'm on year 30 or so). But as others have pointed out, it is not a "casual" game. If you like puzzles and programming, get this title for sure! And then play World of Goo. Then SpaceChem.

Challenging and so much fun!. I kinda feel like a god and a genius at the same time while playing this game.

Awesome. This game is sweet. Very hard and challenging but really really good.

Love this game. I don't get many games, but love this one.

Excellent.. Great game. Starts off easy but the higher levels provide some real challenges. My kids are also playing - it's a good way to introduce them to programming logic.

Good Game, but needs more levels. Personally, within one day, I got through almost all of the levels, and I am no programmer either. The challenge is good, but there is simply not enough levels considering that I paid 7 bucks for this game.

Genial. Apprendre à programmer en s'amusant!

Great for Learning Core Programming Concepts. As a web developer that writes code everyday I always find it hard to justify playing iPhone games, however while playing this game I feel no guilt! It teaches core programming concepts (which are always good to review), and at the same time, makes it a ton of fun! 😊👌

A coder’s dream.. I really enjoy this game. It is very fun and the difficulty level is amazing. It really gets you thinking. The only reason I gave it four stars is because there is no syncing between devices. Sometimes I am thinking about a level and my iPad that I play on isn’t around but I have my phone. I wish they could sync through iCloud. That would make this game 5 star in my mind.

Awesome. Great fun! If you like programming, this is for you, or even a great fun way to get introduced! App needs to have an option for sound effect volume control and/or mute

Okay but some issues. Gameplay starts to crumble as soon as the program gets complex. The editor needs redesigning, almost every time I try to scroll it will move an instruction around instead. I got tired of building my own for/to with sub and jz, macros? Subroutines? Push/pop? Anything to make my life easier? I quit at 35 years. If the goal is to get programmers to enjoy themselves, or to get people introduced to machine language, I think it’s a miss in both cases.

pretty cool programming simulator. This app gives a pretty good feel for old school machine level programming... you need some math skills but mostly logic and problem solving skills.

More!. Any chance we can get more levels? I’d pay for DLC, just sayin.

Fun, challenging puzzles.. If you're a fan of programming, you'll love this game. Simple challenges ramp up to difficult heads ratchets fairly quickly, but if you're familiar with programming it won't overly destroy you. Would be nice if the system audio took precedence though.

Did you like Little Inferno and World of Goo?. If so, just buy this game! Right away! What, wait, you're still here reading this? Well at least grab a bag of Doritos before playing it!

Logic masterpiece. If you love logic puzzles, love math, or you can write code then you will love this game. I find this is the best game I have played in years. In fact, it takes some deep thinking at times, and you can easily get lost in the puzzles.

No iCloud for Best of App Store?. There’s no iCloud support, which means you will lose all progress when switching devices. I’ve replayed the first 20 levels for at least 3 times in order to progress the game due to upgrading/replacing devices in the past 2 years. It’s an abusive relationship, and extreme love slowly sours into extreme annoyance. Especially on multiple occasions, I wanted to solve a harder puzzle or show the game to a friends only remembering I am restarted from level 1. Will not support any future games from the developer until iCloud is implemented.

Amazing, Perfect Puzzler. As you know from the trailer, this game runs on a code mechanic, your tasks start simple and they get more challenging as you go on. The graphics are amazing and the art style suits the setting. Looks and Plays like a AAA title. PROS •Great Graphics •Learn Code •Great Style •Great SFX •Fun And Educational •Great Puzzler CONS

My idea of a perfect game. Mentally stimulating, easy to understand, visually pleasing. You have room to experiment in the game and there are many correct answers, with a view to optimization. Sounds complicated, but it's super simple. Give it a try.

Great Game. The problems are fun to solve. I think the game is enjoyable for both programmers and people who like puzzles. The game would be better if there are more levels to solve.

Cute, but Dry and Abstract. The people rating this title high were probably experienced gamers and programmers looking for a challenge. This is a game for adults - and some kids maybe - who have a good head for numbers, logic and - yes - programming. You don't need to be a programmer to play the game, but you need to think like a programmer to be good enough at the game to enjoy it. The cartoony little character on the game's icon made me get it for my kid and it's been a mistake. My kid lost interest in this game after just a few levels. We do own Little Inferno and World of Goo and liked them much better. It is rated 9+ for the "cartoony violence"; it should be rated higher for its level of abstraction and difficulty.

Great coding challenges. Very intuitive interface and great visuals. This is a perfect puzzle game for programmers, but definitely not a game for everyone. Having a lot of fun optimizing the programs.

Impressive game all round. Not as easy as you'd expect and intriguing puzzles keep you interested to keep going. Nice graphics as well

Fantastic. This game is absolutely fantastic it's creative, challenging, educational and above all else really fun. I hope they put out some more levels out soon as I've nearly finished the campaign. The only complaint is the inability to play my own music/podcasts.

Perfect but requires a bit of skill. I have a good grasp of programming concepts so this was incredibly fun. But I can imagine that somebody without a knowledge of methods of sorting, or somebody who has never considered that multiplication and division can be done simply with addition or subtraction, might get totally stuck.

Great but mot for everyone. This was a top notch game. I think it might be too clever for it's own good. You must enjoy abstract thought and logic to enjoy this game.

The best I've seen. I've been a developer (3D/Games/Videofx) for 35 years as well as a computer programming teacher, and this is the best introduction I've seen so far. There are a few gameplay glitches, but as puzzle games go, this is one of the best. Regardless of their ages, kids who have an affinity for this way of thinking and are able to complete successfully all the levels should definitely get a computer (and a compiler) for XMas! You want to verify if the family « wizkid » is the real deal or just another videogame junkie? Get them this app and see if they can really walk the walk! I’d love to have a configurable version of this to use in engineer interviews...

Great touch controls, tough puzzles. Works really well on touchscreen devices. There are very few puzzle games that deliver the same level of satisfaction when everything goes right. I found the difficulty a bit uneven, but I'm not a programmer or engineer so most of the logic concepts were fairly new.

Great for programmers. I have zero experience and had to have outside help. If you know how to program this game is for you. If you don't know even the basics, you'll be frustrated.

Excellent. I'd been looking for a game like this for some time. As an engineer, it's hard to justify spending time on something that doesn't apply to career development but this game actually helps review and build some essential skills for programming and logical thinking. Anyone interested in this type of game should also check out games by Zachtronics for iOS or whatever OS you're running!

Wish to have more options. At least give an option for me to lock the rotate screen.

Excellent game for geeks. I've only played a few levels and I'm totally hooked. Amazing gameplay and great humou.

Incredibly difficult. Watch a review on YouTube before you get it, buy it only if you get whatever the person is saying

Cute and Challenging. You are given only some choice instructions for your employee and you must solve how to get A to B. It really forces you to think outside the box, it will drive me crazy but I love the challenge. Amazing graphics. Two thumbs up.

Addictive Dystopian Puzzle Fun!. At its heart, Human Resource Machine is an introduction to programming in assembly language, sneakily (and brilliantly) presented as an addictive puzzle game. The challenges start simply but soon ramp up in difficulty (and the optional optimization achievements take even more effort), but the game does a great job of both teaching you how to write assembly code, and giving you a glimpse into the joys (and frustrations) of programming. Of course, the whole experience is enriched by the offbeat corporate dystopian presentation, and the slowly aging protagonist is a nice touch. Highly recommended if you're at all interested in programming or math-based puzzle-solving!

Brilliant.. Great game, as I always come to expect from them. They succeeded in making programming in assembler fun and quirky.

Repetitive. This game becomes extremely repetitive quickly. I thought it would have different levels and games as you got promoted but it was the same game, just a little harder. All you do is bring the box from one conveyor belt across the room to the other conveyor belt. Super basic and not worth the 6.99$

Excellent! Worth every penny!. I'm using this game to exercise my daughter's logic while teaching her some basic notions of programming and so far she loves it! Encourages trial and error, allows step by step debugging and then pushes beyond with challenges. Because there's a limited set of instructions, optimization is interesting and challenging even for a programmer! I hope you will produce more of such amazingly well conceived games!

LET ME LAY ON MY SIDE. Lying on my side causes the game to rotate (even with rotation lock enabled in the control center).

Can you add back up to iCloud?. Would like to share progress between iPhone and iPad. Otherwise great.

Love it!. I have experience in Matlab and a little of Arduino but find this to still be a great and fun challenge. It teaches the basics of programming in a very intriguing way.

This is awesome!!!!. I have been playing for two days and I'm on level 13. This game is worth every penny if you like puzzles or you are studying a programming language. The only thing I would like to see is this...in year 13 the ability to add comments to your program is available, the only problem is that you have to use your finger to write...this is very hard and the letters are way to big. Please let us type in this box instead. Also please let the comment open in year 7 so I can explain my logic to myself and save it for later review. (Also if the comment box could scroll in order to hold a decent amount of info, that would be wonderful.) Thanks. Your other games have such good reviews....I'm going to check them out now.

Waste of money, zero support. After reading all these positive reviews I thought this was going to be a great game, I was wrong. There's zero support so good luck. If you have no coding experience this game is a waste of money.

So far so good.. This game has been amazingly fun so far. Only complaint is lack of iCloud sync.

Year 20 is glitched. I made a script which multiplies two inputs, the way the level tells you to. The script gives the correct output, but the manager requests a zero on the last pair, regardless of what said pair is. I am stuck.

😴💤💤💤. Purchased game based on other reviews. Game blows. I want my $5 back.

Can’t mute audio. Can’t play and listen to podcast/Spotify simultaneously

can’t listen to other audio when playing. my big complaint is that i can’t listen to apple music or audiobook while playing. sound is not needed for this game. i’d like to play the game and listen to what i want.

disgusting. disgusting write my reveiw

This game loses progress. This game is great but progress is not saved in phone backups. Every time I get a new phone I have to start over. It’s so annoying and I hate playing the same levels.

Addicting, helps learn programming logic. Quirky, odd game that helps develop problem solving skills and teaches programming logic. Great for kids and adults!

Needs more puzzles.. Great game. I wish they added more puzzles.

Love this logic puzzle game. Love this game! I keep checking back in to see if they’ve released a new one but alas....

So well done. Game is a great introduction to assembly

Best puzzle game. Not only is this a great game put you are practicing a lot of the principles behind programming, without getting caught up syntax.

No iCloud game save. I set this game up on a new iPad ... and I had to start all over again! It didn't save my progress to iCloud!

Amazing. Guys please make it iPhone X compatible!!

A few bugs. Did anyone else find a bug in the mod module?

Missing iCloud sync. The game is great but please make it support iCloud sync between multiple iOS devices.

Good game but it looses your status. I've started this game twice getting to floor 22. I've lost interest in starting a third time. Should sync via iOS games center and be playable across iPhone and iPad.

The best programming-style puzzle game for iOS. Note: from other reviews, this seems to not work well with phone aspect ratios, you have been warned... I saw this game and it seemed too good to be true! A decent (or in this case, based on previous games, excellent) studio making a programming game! I began to play it and was quickly captivated by the puzzles and the slow reveal of the story. I will say, however, that this game's greatest asset can also be its worst aspect for some people. The puzzles get quite challenging later, beyond every other drag and drop programming game I think there is. I find that great, but after introducing it to my sister, she quickly became frustrated.

Fun game with a huge problem. Love the game. Hate that my progress got deleted. This is not a game where you just get back up to where you were easily as long as you've already beaten it once. This should not happen ever.

Lost all my game progress.. Opened the app and guess I'm back at the beginning. It's a still a good game though.

Game ignores auto-rotation settings. Decently fun game and is helping me get back in the programming mindset. However I play in bed and the game constantly rotates itself even though my auto-rotation is turned off. Please fix this and it'll be 5 stars

I’m confused. These puzzles are way too smart for me

Reminds me of assembly programming from school. Love it

Hard but like be the challenge!!. Lost a star only because there is no Game Center sync so can't carry progress across devices:(

Fun game. Fun game, took off a star because it'd be nice if it restored my progress when I restored my phone or even better synced progress between iPhone and iPad.

This is challenging but the fun kind. If you don't mind a thinker then give this a shot. But be warned it eats batteries like m&m,s.

Fun but lack of iCloud saves is a disappointing omission.. For a company that so clearly cares about engineering it’s disappointing to see them omit such an obvious function

Best logic game on the app store. I can't say enough good things about this game. Really hoping they release a sequel or more levels via iap.

iPhone X. Not optimized for iPhone X, don’t bother purchasing if you have the device.

Best, most creative apps from Tomorrow Corp. Little Inferno is one of the best apps from Tomorrow Corporation. (My grandkids still plague me with 'Kitty kitty Poo-poo Plushie' catcalls after enjoying hours of enjoyment with this game on our Mac). HR Machine is another unique, off-beat app that is worth your time and money. I love the logic challenges combined with the great graphics and sound. A friendly suggestion, don't try playing this during 'Cocktail hour'. You'll need your full faculties to master these puzzles. This is another masterpiece that works so well on the iPad. I hope Tomorrow continues to produce some of the most creative and entertaining apps I've seen on the Mac or iPad.

Awesome! …except for one thing. This game is brilliant and addictive and doesn't seem like a waste of time when you're done playing. But there is one thing that bugs me so much that I have to stop playing after just a few minutes. I have an iPhone 6+. When I open the game it automatically opens in landscape. Great. But after giving me instructions for the current level, a symbol of an iPhone appears in the top left corner and starts endlessly rotating back and forth as though it wants me to change to portrait. Rotating my phone makes no difference and tapping on the symbol does nothing. It just keeps on back and forth, back and forth. I tried holding my thumb over it but in the end, driven half insane and totally annoyed, I just have to stop playing.

hey i like it so far but can i change the language?. I love the game itself. But i would love to change the language from the English to Korean a lot if possible. I bought this outside Korea.

No iPhone X support. This game was featured as the game of the day but it has no support for the iPhone X. The game is great and the idea is super original just please update it to support iPhone X. Thanks!

Really smart little game. Feels great to solve the puzzle and the optional challenges are pretty tricky.

Great puzzle game!. I downloaded and played straight through all weekend, I’m straight addicted to this game.

Good. Great game and concept but it is too short at the moment

Cynical. A cynical overlay for math problems solved in the form of software coding. I hate math and was hoping for a fun way to do some coding for the first time, so no and no. And I don't believe the business world, from whom these cynical developers happily accept money in the form of your paycheck and mine, is a nasty place worthy of mockery. Getting a refund if possible.

PLEASE MAKE SCREEN STRETCH FOR IPHONE X. Just paid 5$ for a great game but doesn’t fit the screen on my phone :/

No iPhone X love?. It’s a fun game but please update for iPhone X support. I was surprised that this was recently highlighted by Apple but hasn’t been touched in years.

Freezing On 2nd Level. Paid $4.99 for the game and can’t get past the 2nd level because it’s freezes every time I try to use the “jump” function. Super annoying.

No multiply command. I love this game. Instantly addicted. BUT, now that I got to the multiply level, I can't get a multiplier command to appear on the list. *edit* OMG. That's the puzzle. Well done.

Fun, addictive, wish it wasn't $5.... I wish I could award it 4.5 stars instead of only 4. It'd definitely get 5 stars from me if it only cost, say $2.99 instead of $4.99. It's a fun, addictive game, but cannot be played endlessly -- there *is* an end to it. Having said that, the levels do get progressively harder, and if you try to get the two available "challenges" on each level, that makes it even more difficult -- so it *will* take you some time to get to the end, but it's not endlessly playable like most mobile games are. And even though I think it should cost a bit less, I do appreciate the fact that the developers made it a one-time payment, with no in-app purchases. Seems like every game these days is going with in-app purchases to monetize their games. It's a refreshing change to see a developer that won't nickel and dime you to death. Overall, I recommend buying this game, despite my minor complaint about it being just a bit too expensive for my taste. What's an extra couple of dollars in the grand scheme of things.

Impossible. The fourth level is unbeatable

Great Logic Game!. This game lives up to it's campaign promise to Make Programming Great Again.

Superfun challenge!. If you like logic games and have fun writing codes, you will love love love this game! Hours of fun and brain exercise.
