Live the latest Version. This app just keeps getting better! Standing applause for the quick responses, conscientiousness, and inventiveness of the developer. Can song times be included somewhere in the “Songs” list? Old Review: New version freezes up--have to kill task, start over just to change song. Then in "Artist", select the song I want to play--but a different song by that artist starts (because it is Track 1 or alphabetically first). Then have to go back under "Songs" to finally play the original song I wanted (if the app doesn't freeze up again). Had to reinstall older version. No freezing, but "wrong song under Artist" problem persists. Please fix these problems to get a 5-star rating. I appreciate that the app is free and works better than many other music apps.

This is my default music app - just one more feature request. It would be great if we can manually update or change the artwork of songs within this app. Is that something we can expect? I love the idea and interface of Doppi 😍

If you don't like Apple Music shoving Cloud Music down your throat this app is for you!. This app is the best if you want to play only you music collection in your device, with elegance and without the cloud thing.

Works exactly as advertised!. Only app I’ve found that is able to play files from the Files app. Well, okay, not the only one, but the other one is ridden with ads and feels like it hasn’t been updated since 2010, so this is the clear winner. If you want to play music files that you legitimately downloaded on the Internet without needing to sync from a PC, this app is a winner.

Best Music Player Ever!. This is a hidden gem, I would've never had found it if it weren't for Reddit. This is the best music player for you iPhone hands down, even better than the stock app. Amazing, simple, and beautiful.

everything Apple’s Music app should be. this app is great! I think it’s faster than the native Apple Music app on my iPhone 6. the controls and interface are intuitive, quick and responsive. my only gripe is lack of ‘repeat one song’ functionality. I came from Reddit just now, gotta market this app mr/mrs developer! EDIT: I just found the ‘repeat one’ option hidden in settings. I recant my gripe. but the settings page itself wasn’t too easy to find, but that might just be my problem :) awesome app

Had to Tip it’s awesome.. $5.99 Tip and plan to repeat this Tip every year as long as it continues to work as well as it does right now. It’s sad it took me so many years to find the perfect app that the Developers are not interested in collecting your personal information. The moment apps change their privacy policies is the moment I always delete them. For me Privacy is worth paying for.

By far the best UI in a Music Player App that I could find. The only inconvenience with this app is that it is a tad slow when starting up. The start up speed is so minimal of an issue and doesn’t ruin the experience of an intuitively designed music player. This is by far, hands down, better than the Apple Music player UI! It is worth the $1!

App Limbo. Doppi was designed to import raw music files from a variety of sources to essentially build a music library from scratch within the app. Presently, the import function is sketchy at best and I never could get the colorful album artwork to function. This app is no longer being developed according to the developer's website. Bugs will be patched but no new features will be added. Sadly, Doppi wasn't the answer for my music library issues and I am looking elsewhere.

What Music should be. Beautiful, simple, and clever, this app is the best music player on iPhone and shows how the default app could be so so so much better. On maintenance mode but still worth your time to experience as its that good.

***WARNING***. In order to play your music files, they need to be put into the app’s on-phone folder. Do not MOVE your music files into the app folder. COPY / DUPLICATE your files into the folder. If you delete the app, all music files that have been placed in Doppi’s folder will ALSO BE DELETED. You will lose your music if it doesn’t exist elsewhere!

Perfect with one small addition.. This app is exactly what I have been looking for. Has all the features I wanted. It’s beautiful. Simple to use. Perfect. I would however love the option to view “songs” in a grid view. Just a personal preference and me being picky. But seriously great work! Definitely recommend.

No Lyrics?. I’m loving the app so far as it’s a million times better than Apple’s stock music app, but my one complaint is that it didn’t transfer any of the lyrics I had added to my songs. Is this a bug or a feature that I have to enable?

Artwork caching is ridiculously useless. The new artwork caching is a joke. No artwork is showing no matter what I do. The new connecting with Apple Music function isn’t that great either because it doesn’t pick up on the changes to a playlist. Tried deleting songs and re uploading them to fix the artwork problem and sure that solved that, but then it didn’t pick up on the changes to the playlist. Foolishly hit library troubleshooting and ended up wiping the artworks again. Either fix this problem or go back to the previous versions please.

Wonderful app but missing AM support. This is a beautifully designed app with a smooth interface that shows off iOS processing power. However, the lack of Apple Music support does make it a little bit of a miss. With Apple Music support this app will make the system music player useless!

Broken alphabetic scrolling on iPhone 12. Whenever I scroll using the alphabetic sorting on the right side of the screen, the app blurs out and has a search bar at the top which cannot be used. The only way to fix this is to restart the app but the scrolling becomes dangerously unusable if I am in the middle of a song. Everything else is perfect and the UI is the best I’ve seen in a music player so far.

Far better than the awful iOS 10 music app!. My only complaint is that the shuffle button turns off every time I click on a song. I have to continuously reenable shuffling.

Perfect!. This is better than the apple music app. It’s a really good player when it comes to playing your personal music library. It has a great layout and easy navigation to all your music. 5/5

Best MP3 player in the App Store.. When you click on an artist it has all their albums and all their songs in one list. The all songs option was removed from the Apple Music app and this app is the only one that lists all the songs in one list that I can find. And it is free.

No Landscape. Cover Art Wonky.. This is a pleasantly designed app with a good UI flow. Big problems include: 1) No landscape orientation. 2) With two track album files with embedded cover art and image file in same folder, there’s no consistency with when and in which list view they appear, even after refreashing folder population and deleting and re-adding. (These two reasons are why I requested refund) 3) If you put album folders in Artist folders in the Files app no files will show in app. So, no sub folder organization allowed? 4) None of my files have Album Artist in the ID3 tags but the app auto adds them. This makes info redundant and frustrating. Minor dislikes: 1) Paid icon selection have cookie cutter versions and rather unimaginative. 2) Color theme selection options are limited and basic chalky primary colors. Would be much more appealing if free options were rich and paid option was a color picker on a spectrum. I would probably give the app another shot if the first 2 or 3 problems above were addressed. This app has promise but current issues are disappointing and a deal breaker.

Missing Two features. I’d like to see two things added to make it more useful at least more me. First adding a timer option and second a way to move songs in the playlists, I don’t see a way to do it without making a new list.

Great Design but lack features.. There’s no equalizer and it seems the app can’t read flac file embedded artwork. I’ve tried various flac files and the album art aren’t showing in the player is there any solution? Another thing is the feature to make playlist within app, I’ve been using favorite and hide song as playlist. Edit: Changing to Beta ver. using Apple Tesflight (iPhone 7) all artwork problems solved. Still, I hope there’s equalizer and such, maybe metadata editor. there’s problem though, the player sometimes goes infinite loop to rescan library or imported files, I’ve tried several times reloading the app, removing from background, and solved when I change the theme color then rescan again.

Amazing all in one offline music player. I really enjoy this app, offline music player and it has mp3 metadata update functionality. It looks amazing and has a super clean UI.

Nice aesthetic, but needs work. I use it over the stock player because I paid for it, but overall it's not a huge improvement and is lacking some things. It does look nice though. -History is nice, but crashed on me once when I played a song from it - not sure if I can replicate it -It's better at recognizing songs of the same album than the stock music player But, -I shouldn't have to use a separate app to create and edit playlists. -The scrubber being at the top of the screen makes no sense. It needs to be relocated below the album art, preferably where volume currently is - having to reach up to the top of the screen to scrub is inconvenient, and a large volume slider is unimportant when the device already has physical volume buttons. -Swipe up on the player screen should pull up the current playlist. Edit: Crashes on me four times a day and nothing has been improved. From 3 stars to 1.

The cover and lyrics contained in the flac file. I love this app very much. But I have a trouble during my using. Why information like the cover and lyrics contained in my flac file can’t be read and displayed? Can you fix it? Thanks for your great work. Edit: The lyrics embedded in the flac files still can’t be read.

Simple and works.. I ride the subway and constantly have issues with Apple music and itunes' dependence on wifi and cloud data. i wanted something that simply works. this does.

Dude why update. The app don’t know how to count pass nineteen (19). Ofter 19 it’s blank numbers!!!

So worth five stars. I have a spare iPhone with iOS 11 on it and it has a sort of dark mode on it, I hope this app ends up supporting the dark mode. And when you use the search in this app while in dark mode it stays white instead of blending in with the dark os. (It just stands out) and I believe that the app would be great if it had a widget showing the songs that could be played. But other than that this app is the best. It's worthy of a nice tip

Library maintenance. Is there a way to delete multiple songs at once? Right now, I have to delete each one individually which is a little tedious. If I’m missing something please let me know.

This is a gem of an app. It takes a lot for me to use third party software over Apple’s. That said, this is what Apple Music *should* be. If you didn’t know this wasn’t from Apple, you’d think it was their newest version of their Music app. It’s that intuitive, and is a pleasure to use. Well done.

How can I change the language?. It is a good app, much better than Apple’s stock music app. But when I first opened it, it just automatically set the language to Japanese, and I couldn’t find where to change the language. It really bothers me cause I’m Chinese and I know little about Japanese. I know the app doesn’t support Chinese now, but if I could change it to English it would be much easier to use.

Outstanding music app!. This app looks and functions 10x better than the stock music app, and unlike the stock app, this one lets you import your music from the Files app. My only complaint is that I have 800 songs all with album art, that loads it completely then once I exit the app and relaunch it, it has to reload all the album artwork again and it slows down the app for a good 10 minutes. It could possibly be because of my aging iPhone SE (2016)!

The best music player app!!!. This is by far the most beautiful and well designed music player app ever!! Congratulations for all the unique features to the designer. Love the access to artist and album to add songs without leaving the actual Playlist. Simply perfect!

Finally a good music player. After trying so many other music apps, I’ve finally found one for just the music I have synced on my phone. Interface is fluid and smooth, it’s very responsive and just simply gets the job done well. The only recommendations would be maybe a widget, and an option to add the current playing track to a playlist.

Doesn’t work. Bought the app and it literally just does not function. Been trying to make a local files playlist for 3 days straight now and I STILL haven’t achieved it. Absolute trash, so glitchy, didn’t mean to pay for it in the first place, didn’t notice the cost, got it on accident and it’s a waste of money. I’m mad rn if you can’t tell…

Missing critical components. This is, indeed, the friendliest 3rd party music app. It functions quite well and is designed that is VERY pleasing to the eye. I would rate 5 stars BUT the lack of any kind of EQ access is a fairly large issue as the music as a whole sounds fairly flat compared to the stock music app or other 3rd party music apps. Also, the app won’t play (purchased and downloaded) music that ends in m4p format. Apparently this is a copy protection issue and Doppi won’t read these files (per the dev response) but other 3rd party music apps have no problem playing these file types. Please add an equalizer and a way to play these files. This would make it a 5 star app, easily.

Great update!. I love the update, and usability, especially search, is better than before. Fix for the half the library missing problem makes it perfect.

Lovely to look at, but feels incomplete. I downloaded this app to replace Evermusic, another app that plays local music files. Unfortunately, while the design of this app is far superior, the functionality isn’t quite there yet. As someone else mentioned, the app slows to a crawl while attempting to load embedded album art. The Doppi folder for adding music also does not seem to support sub-folders (resulted in app crashes), so if you’ve organized your audio files that way, you’re out of luck. Further, unless I missed something, there seems to be no way to add playlists beyond the preloaded ones.

Gets even better with time. If you like to keep your music locally there is no better app on iOS. Apple’s stock music app is trash. Doppi is beautiful, intuitive, and customizable. The 3.0 update just makes things even better

Needs couple of things. Doppi is way better than the stock music player But still needs to really shuffle the music because it messes lots of songs when I shuffle an album And having a create playlist and rating options would be perfect Some stability tweaks would be nice too. Love doppi

Just one issue. Great player with minimal interface and avoids all the bloat I see in most music players. The only issue I have is for the past 6 months it crashes about a minute in when connected to Bluetooth. Restarting the app usually works but over the past week or two it takes multiple restarts before it stops crashing. 5 stars for my needs if this ever gets fixed.

Simple but.... The app seems to preserve more songs than iTunes or other apps (fewer lost or corrupted tunes). It is simple, but it has limits in regard to playlists. It does not seem to be able to add to playlists or add songs to existing playlists. Also, the number of playlists is limited by the screen size to 13.

Doppi is amazing!. Doppi is way better than Apple's default stock music app which continues to get uglier and less streamlined with each update. I would even pay for this app it is so great. All it needs is more playlist functionality and a clear up-next button.

Crashes on Launch. I very much want to use this app; it crashes about a third of the way through importing my library (an improvement over it initially saying “No music on this device” when I opened it for the first time and gave it approval to access my 4,000 song library. Two stars for a clean, Apple inspired import and splash UI, as well as the VERY NOTION of this working from control center properly.

Awesome Apple Music Replacement. Hands down one of the best Apple Music replacements. Although would love to see an EQ added in a future update. One other tweak request ...I use an increased font size on my phone and it makes the preferences look a little wacky. It would be nice to override and view that normal smaller size.

Playlist problem. I have had problems with the Playlists. Initially, it was easy and intuitive to set up my 5 playlists. However, a few days later, I noticed that the playlists had become all mixed up — new songs were added and some of the songs I had put in the playlists were now missing. I use these playlists for line dancing, so the song order was important. Therefore, fixed up two of the playlists back to the way they had originally been. (I had saved a typed list of what was supposed to be in the playlist, so it was easy to change it back to how it was supposed to be). Unfortunately, a few days after that, I noticed that the playlists were now all completely empty, each containing 0 songs. It’s not clear why this is happening.

Finally!. Thank you so much! I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the current Apple music app an absolute train wreck. For a portable device that is made to be used mostly outside ones home, why Apple values streaming music over offline music, I will never know.

Latest update has broken the app on iPhone almost completely. Before the newest iOS update, I was able to listen to my imported songs and search by playlist. Now in the other menus, all songs look like “Label Label Label”. If this can be fixed, that’d be sweet.

Great music app but require some improvement. Sometimes the music player play different song from what i selected, and its quite hard to reach the seeking bar so i hope that it would be put below the artwork. Being able to rearrange the top tab is useful too.

Good. But It keeps crashing.. This app solves a bunch of my problems with the iOS Music app. However, it’s been crashing way too often. Every few minutes/actions it stops the music and closes itself??

Nice and simple!. After Apple music, listening to our offline music library has become a hassle with the Music app. Doppi makes it easy and pleasant again; it has a very simple UI which includes only what's absolutely necessary. It's as simple as using our old iPods. Congrats!

Latest update crashes on IOS16.4.1. After updating Doppi it now presents a blank white screen with an inactive grey play icon. Something severely faulty for it to cause a massive battery drain to the point where phone gets hot very quickly!

Barely works. Plays a song one time then can’t play it again. Inconsistent loading mp3s from “files” app, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.

Simple and easy to use. It’s a simple and easy to use (unlike some that require a local web server to load files to it). I only took off a star because I use it to play audiobooks, but it does not remember where I stopped listening.

Just needs force touch and watch app. Far better than the stock app for sure, just simple and intuitive and pleasant to look at All I could ask for is a watch companion app and the option to force touch on the play screen to select “continue album” and shuffle

Doppi - your music returns!. Every update of Apple's music app has made it worse for those of us who like to roll our own. The latest is just an ad for their music "service" and had driven me back to an aged iPod until I discovered Doppi. Thanks for respecting simplicity, and an elegant app that's a delight to use. If only Apple still listened.

Best music app alternative, however.... It’s not getting all the tracks from my library! Missing about 100, including some in my playlists. Other than that, the updates are amazing, and the app design is outstanding!

Doppi is NOT so Dopey at all !!!. Doppi is absolutely fantastic as a dedicated music player for your own music library on your iPhone. Ever since the last major update to the Native Apple Music player, it has become quite UNUSABLE, & more like a music/twitter hybrid. I Don't want all the online features !!! I just want a simple, clean layout where I can navigate easily between ARTIST/ALBUM & SONG effortlessly through basic gestures. DOPPI delivers what the Apple Music player used to be like & adds some nice touches of it's own. The only downer is it won't play any video back but as a standalone music player with NO ADVERTISING & WITHOUT the CLUTTER... Doppi hits the mark perfectly :-)

Great app but annoying bug. Almost exactly what I want from a music library app. Except for a bug where the album artwork starts disappearing from the library. also a sort of album grid view, would make this perfect.

Fantastic alternative for those who don’t use Apple Music. Much better than the standard music app. However, in the latest version occasionally all the album art disappears and won’t reappear again for a few hours. Even closing and reopening the app doesn’t fix it

Bye bye Apple Music. At last, an app that replaces the horrible default Music app that comes with iOS. Been using Doppi for a couple months now, and love how simple it is. I couldn't stand how the Apple Music app was trying to cram beats radio and other unwanted services down my throat. All I wanted was a music app that played my playlists, and here we have it. Thanks Doppi devs! Keep up the great work!

Excellent. Simple and efficient app. The UI is streamlined with dark theme. No useless mumbo jumbo, just music app exactly how it's supposed to be. It's fast, no crashes and it adds beautiful blur view when playing songs. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Bad. All it does it let you play music from your iTunes that you have already downloaded. What's the point of that?

Great app but buggy. This is a great app with many enhancements over the stock iOS Music App. The developers have done an incredible job! I am experiencing however a number of bugs and have some suggestions: BUGS I’m running Doppi 3.4 on an iPhone 6 running iOS 12.2 and cannot see any album artwork. I’m in need of using larger font sizes on my phone and the app does not seem to support adequate layouts and spacing to support even slightly larger font sizes with excess text running off and overlapping other elements making the UI look cluttered. It would be nice to see some support for these users. When drop-down menus appear (ex. from option buttons like in the player screen) the menu appears but is half off the screen! Fortunately, I can read most of what is displayed but looks very buggy. SUGGESTIONS For toggle buttons such as shuffle and repeat, it’s hard to see if they’re enabled or not so either having their icons highlight with the user-defined colour or have the background and icon invert. From what I see of the screenshots on the App Store of the player screen, the volume slider and toggle buttons appear more visible when album artwork is showing so perhaps that would help somewhat? Make the track duration progress bar more visible in mini player and player screen as it’s too faint to really see.

Watch. Great app but needs a watch app too

requires iTunes?. Maybe I did not understand, but the description said that I could play my own MP3 files without iTunes or the Music app. I have a very simple situation with the MP3 files already on my iPhone. When I installed this app, it required iTunes or it would not work. Can I just play my MP3 files without all these other complications? Thank you.

Clunky, bugs. I really wanted to like this. But the UI is just so clunky and there's so many app-breaking bugs. The one that finally broke me is that the app freezes whenever I try to import a song. That makes it unusable at this point.

Battery Killer ⚠️. From experience, this app destroys battery life. out of all music apps that I’m using, Doppi is the most app that drains battery life. And not in a normal way of consumption. Also the phone gets super warm

Itunes app. Im liking the app and music player so far. But would be great if i could transfer these apps to Apple music app so I could play it there.

Overall app is great but. The scrubber in playing should be in the middle of the screen instead of top. And the shuffle keeps resetting everytime i manually play another song straightly

Horrible. It only works if you already have music on your phone

Apple should learn from this music app. This app is amazingly, it has many channels to add your music from other sources. It has simple and beautiful appearance. Money worth spend.
