Poor match making, glitchy app, unbalanced mechanics. PvP is nearly impossible as a new player between the types of cards you have and who you’re matched with. I started playing on a different device under a different iTunes account with my kiddo and we were being matched as level two players with players level 16+ I used to play this game years ago and just redownloaded it myself. I normally only play ranked by the last week or so it will match make and then freeze while trying to load the match then the game force closes itself and takes a star even though I have no control over it. I’ve probably lost about 5 stars this way in the last week alone. It’s happened both on and off Wi-Fi and with the new version of IOS. Mechanics could also use balancing. I don’t remember zombies being so beefy sometimes it’s impossible to defend against them especially with gravestone zombies. You’re completely defenseless against them when you take your turn. It should either be you have gravestones because you go first or you get a chance to use tricks. Totally defeats some purposes of plant abilities

Crashes all the time but it is still my favorite. I’ve played this game on the iPhone 7 and more recently on the 11 pro max and it crashes all the time. The likelihood of a crash while on the phone is nearly 100%, and it is very high if you receive a text while playing. Lately it has been crashing right before I win a round which is very annoying. I have no other app that crashes this much. With that said, I love this game. I wish you could replay all the daily challenges as those draw me in the most. I also like playing other people in ranked and casual matches, too as people can be so creative with all the options and combinations the game offers. I also like that if you don’t have to use any in-app purchases to get ahead and advertising is low, only traded with a few things and not constant. The advertising balance was struck well. I wish they’d crowd source game updates, like if 1000 people buy a game pack, they’d introduce a new deck amendment. That would push folks to pay for game freshness.

Awesome Game! Hero Civil War Update Please!!. Only game that I play on a daily basis and one of the best app games I’ve ever played. Please do a future update where the heroes on the same side fight against each other for some reason (the heroes probably have 2 separate ideas of justice or something, which causes them to split and fight. I don’t know, you guys, the writers, think of some story). Some cards might have to be removed just from this mode, but if this mode is included in the game it would make the game much more interesting and fun since the game would be drastically expanded on without having to add new cards, heroes, or new gameplay mechanics. It’s been a while that we’ve seen and played as Plant heroes fighting with Zombie heroes or vice versa. It would be interesting to play different strategy decks of the same side with each other. But whatever, you guys do what you want. Thanks for providing us a game that clearly has a lot of creativity, love, and effort put into it.

I would give this a 5 but... I would totally give this game 5 stars but let me explain why it's 3. many cards are unbalanced as you can find people yelling about in other reviews, most of the unbalanced are either legendary or super rare so if you want them you either spend hours upon hours getting gems or heaven forbid getting the crafting stuff for 1 card OR you just toss money at the game until you get it or a card of equal unbalance. once you start playing the competitive it gets okay, but around diamond rank everyone just uses the same broken decks or heroes and if you don't have them then you are immediately at a huge disadvantage. on top of all that stuff, the game has been frequently crashing for me and my friends so when i'm finally about to rank up it crashes or i'm about to win any match and it crashes. All that needs to be done is maybe change the pricing on card packs or maybe add rewards for doing the little solo missions, and fix the crashing. a little balancing of certain cards wouldn't be too bad either

Please start updating this game again.. Popcap has done something incredible here. I’ve been playing this game for years, and it has easily become one of my favorite games of all time. They took the concept of turn based card strategy, and perfected it. The graphics and animations are flawless, I’d buy them miles above Hearthstone’s or any other game of the sort. The blocking mechanic as well as the concept of lanes are both absolutely genius. It brings so many more layers to the game than Hearthstone has in my opinion. The deck building aspect is flawless and easy to see what you’ve built as you’re going. You don’t have to flip through pages and pages of cards trying to find something. The only thing missing besides making it a little more free-to-play-friendly is that IT DOESN’T GET UPDATES ANYMORE!!!! It’s seriously so disappointing to see a game this amazing not get the love it deserves. The community for this game is still strong and advocates for it day in and day out. My only wish is for that community to grow, and for Popcap to realize this is what the PVZ fandom actually wants.

5 stars but could go down very soon. I am addicted to this game and still have a lot to do, but I think it is time for an update. Now I know this review would probably not be read, but I think that the game needs a new rarity called mutants. The idea would be that they could only be obtained by purchasing a pack that either costs a lot or cost the same as premium pack but only gives 1. You cannot craft these plants/zombies and they have different rarities. For example, hypnotized mushroom would bounce zombies that hurt them and bounce into the plants inventory. This might seem op but the hypnotized zombies would cost 2 sun more, and hypnotize mushroom costs 5 sun and has 4 health with no attacking abilities. A good zombie mutant would be a cool Halloween zombie that was bitten buy the goat zombie and has mutated into zom-goat. Zom-goat has special power and works somewhat like a yeti mix, a goat mix with frenzy. Please Pop cap this might have been your best game and this is your chance to update it.

Good game but.... It’s a very good game but there are some things that can be improved. First the gems, I feel that gems are just too hard to obtain without having to spend real money and the packs of cards are expensive as well. 100 gems for only a couple card are NOT worth it at all and I wish PvZ would work on either making it easier to earn more gems or lower the cost of the packs or also increase the number of cards one receives from each pack. Second I’d like to address the online battle. PvZ needs to do better at match making. There isn’t no reason why a level 14 player should be facing a level 30 player or higher. It’s just not fair. Lastly and most importantly is the super blocking system I don’t understand how it works and it seems random based when the hero is hit but it needs to be regulated some how. I was just in a match with my super block at 80% with 8 health. When the opponent attacked me, I lost and my super block meter moved one square which made no sense to me. I should’ve blocked his attack. Also the block meter filling needs to be fix as well. What I mean by that is when a person gets attacked by a lower level card the block meter will fill multiple squares but a card that has a high attack will on fill only couple squares. That makes no sense. It should be the other way around, when attacked by a high attack level card the super block meter should fill more than being hit by a lower level card.

It’s not that fun. The games alright but the gems needed to get packs are hard to get and most of the quest requires you to craft something you don’t want do, also it’s extremely hard to get good and it’s very limiting that only certain plants can only go with specific hero’s decks, also half the time the packs you open only have like one card that goes with the hero you like the most, also the legendary cards are really hard to come by so I would at least like it if when you got them they went with YOUR favorite hero’s deck and another thing the zombie cards are OP and need a serious need for example one of super brains cards get one health and one damage for every trick you play whitch sounds fine at first but it’s extremely annoying to play against, and this is just one of the overpowered cards in the game. I shouldn’t have to spend money just to get cards of a hero who I like, anyway please read these reviews and maybe this game can make a comeback????

Good game mostly. This game is great really, the design is cool, the event that lets you get a free event card by playing regally is cool, but there are a couple problems with this. First is the obvious, certain card can and SHOULD be balanced, certain legendary are too trashy compared to others and for example the tombstone destroyer (that’s not the name but what it does) only costs 2 and is categorized as a rare, but really it’s a super rare and should be balanced because it is a bit too overpowered (the ability that lets you destroy any tombstone for the price of two makes this card ALWAIS worth using, since zombies spawn on tombstones starting at the price of 2, and only go up from that) Second, it’s that it takes a LOT of time to get diamonds normally without buying anything, I played this game for a couple of months total but only managed to get 2 to 3 bundle, so except if I were to pleut for years or buy stuff, getting new heroes is mostly impossible for me, so it could be a bit better too. I’m still going to give this 4 stars because the strategies and the fun of it almost makes up for it’s flaws, but only « almost ».

Imbalanced. I’ve spent a minimum of 20 hours on this game. After all this time this is probably the best mobile app on the App Store, without doubt. However this is just for casual players. Once you begin to climb the ranks and become higher, there are like 3 decks that you can win with and if you’re not using those decks you automatically lose. The freezing deck just obliterates everything professor brainstorm is way too good for early players and the pecanolith is way too overpowered . The daily challenges are great for the less ambitious players. The final thing I want to say is about the missions and the shop. 1. The missions, the missions are great and put you in certain situations but it’d be cooler if you got like 15 gems every time you beat a section ( it takes 100 gems to get a pack ) . 2. This game is made by EA, or at least the alternate version so this is obviously pay to win. This game is even more pay to win than any other game I’ve played. If you’ve spent at least 50$ on this game you’re guaranteed rank 40 at least. It’s ridiculous how much of a difference it makes. You could have a 1/1 powered card and the enemy would have a 2/2 card that gets bonus cards when it attacks and makes them cheaper. This game is imbalanced but a good game. Recommended for people who spend money on games often and casual gamers.

Glitches/Needs adjustments. So the first point I’m going to make is that there are a few glitches I have noticed in this game. The most striking one I have found is that the game sometimes does not give you the correct amount of gems. I have gone to the shop after saving 200 gems, and then try to buy a pack, but then I get a pop-up stating, “You do not have enough gems.” I would restart the game, and have less gems. (Let’s say around 180 or something.) Secondly, there are a few cards that need some serious adjustment. I’ve both used and fought against a few of these cards, and they are not fair. I honestly feel like cheating when I play some of these. The best example I have is the combination of the Venus fly-trap environment plus the asparagus that deals damage as you heal. When you use both of these cards together, it will attack without stopping. It is literally a “I win the game” play and should be fixed. There are a few more cards like this, and until I see adjustments made against this sort of thing, I can’t give this a higher rating.

Good but... Whoa whoaa whoaaaaa I have a lot to say about this game so let’s get the elephant out of the room no I think it was a terrible decision to change pvz into a card game plus this game just lacks life (I’m talking about the About the main menu) the main menu for this game is just chucked full of micro transactions and it could be hard to navigate if your a beginner and don’t know where to click there’s just so many buttons to click it gets confusing plus this game can get repetitive over time which is a huge issue anyways now it’s time to talk about the positives of pvz hero’s the concept of plants Turing into hero’s because of zomboss is just so darn cool and I also enjoy the comic book panels that you see every now and then the art style is nice it’s nowhere near as good as pvz art style but it’s pretty good NOW if you like card games and you also love pvz download this game! But if your not a card game guy then don’t I mean your better off playing Pvz 2 than this anyways I hope my review help you make your decision I hope you have a good rest of your day! <3

One of the best mobile games of all time. Although the game can be very p2w, you can still make very powerful decks without spending any money. I haven’t spent a penny on the game and hit diamond consistently (it’s not the best but give me some slack). You need a lot of strategies and even more critical thinking to be good at this game. However, some cards are very unbalanced or very bad, making the meta in ranked matches very repetitive and predictable. You won’t need to worry about this unless you are diamond, taco, etc. Another piece of criticism for this game is that it is difficult to get new cards. Almost every time you want to craft 4 super rares or events you have to recycle some of your legendaries or super rares to get them. This becomes less of a problem when you are a p2w or you have played the game for a long time. Other than that, one of the most memorable games I’ve ever played. (side note: the devs abandoned the game but there are still plenty of active players)

Amazing Game... Needs a sequel. I absolutely love this game. I started playing around when it came out. I find myself consistently coming back to the game for more experiences. I've been playing a lot recently, being competitive and strategic with friends. However, there are many inconsistencies and issues. I feel like rather than an update, the game needs a new start. One of my biggest problems is with the lack of player data. There are no player statistics, ie cards placed, best seasons, worst seasons, games played, etc. Some of the heroes need better balancing. Certain heroes have terrible tricks, and some have great tricks. I wish you could check your friends' stats as well, to see what cards and heroes they have. The graphics are very outdated as well. They're nice and nostalgic, but they could be easily improved. Certain cards should also be balanced differently. Some cards are unusable. How come there are 0 cost cards that are better than 1 cost cards?

If only ad watching ever worked. The economy in the game is very harsh, look up stuff to know what to buy and stick with it because most things are a quarter of its cost back on sale at most. Also don’t play zombie it’s either too hard early on or later on you have every card and spend most of the match watching cutscenes. For the easiest time putting zombie players in their place buy Solar cards that have strikethrough and spam those the whole match and watch them finally run out of tricks after spamming 10 1-cost tricks that do all the work for them. Like I said the ad watching doesn’t work so u can’t just farm ads to get packs it’s really annoying. Been playing on and off for years so if ur a card player try it out for sure. Don’t pay for stuff either, it’s EA and most of the early cards are used in full normal decks so just keep a note of which cards u want to work on. You can cash in cards for the energy currency that u use to craft other cards so if u wanna main one hero of one side or one hero on each u can sell all the other stuff for good early money DO NOT FALL FOR SOMEONE ELSES DECK. A few times I got mad and went to the other side to try to make someone else’s deck and if you have no credits don’t sell your stuff just to get 4 of one card bc usually u don’t have anything else for that type

COMPUTER CHEATS. I actually love this game love love this game I spent almost 3 hours out of my day playing this game but once you get to level 30 it’s almost impossible to win there’s a lot of reviews that says that zombies have the upper hand I don’t believe that I just think it cheats I was just playing right now and so on the first round the zombie drop two cars one that cost 2 brains and another one that cost 3 brains And then there’s been several times where I’m about to win and the game just stopped working and it says Internet connection I mean it’s and then it says zombies win I mean I’m using my TV watching Netflix while I’m playing this game and you never stop so he had the Internet it’s not a problem right now I’m just in level 37 and I haven’t been able to win a single match and is not my cards always choose a good deck just the computer gives them the upper hand. always they always have the exact cards that they need to beat me also there’s been several times where on the first round zombies have another super powers that they don’t even have that they’re not supposed to have. When you play this game a lot you know this things. you know what kind of powers they have 2 bad they do that I would it give them 20 stars if I could it’s just not fair to the players

AWESOME GAME. HELP. when The zombot aerostatic gondala does damage, it doesn't leave behind a zombie and go to another lane! But anyway, great game. One more thing, can you guys add a mode where you can choose your cards and test them out? Today I’m writing another review. This game is AMAZING. I love the strategy decks, the heroes, the cards, but some of the cards need a change. 1.The Three Nut. The Three nut is kinda bad if you think about it. You should make it to make nuts have 3 damage instead of all plants. And plus... it’s a super rare. 2. Soul Patch Soul patch has 5 damage and 10 health which I think is a bit OP. So can you make it 3 damage and 10 health or 5 damage and 8 health. Just a suggestion. I have one more thing. Since the thing that chooses who you battle with is so random, can you make it so that if you beat a guy with 5 ranks and above, I would like an extra star. Thank you. November 28th Sorry I’m writing again, but this is a serious problem. The galactic, colossal, and premium packs are GONE from the store！Please fix this problem quick because this is a big problem for me. 12/30 There’s another bug I want to list. This glitch HAPPENS SO MANY TIMES that sometimes I would want to delete this game. So when your super block is about to activate, you can see it being full, but the game IGNORES the block and goes for another circle. Please fix this soon, because this glitch destroys so many strategies.

Add difficulty level. I love this game we all do we make decks with combos or follow ups or builds up I just using my new made deck I fight 1 cpu and it’s a deck of high costs cards so I have the advantage but I need to build up my deck and swarm it so I did I about to win then the cpu uses garg feast and ended getting a zombot and I gotten a feeling and then I also have the best/highest cost card I ended up playing it after the turn and then the cpu uses garg feast again and guess what zombot again with the garg on a garg and if you ask me that really annoying and I’m starting to wonder are you creators really reading our reviews or focusing on making new games so we forget these and waste our money on the games on console so we start playing those and don’t play these games anymore then you guys are having us do challenges that can’t be beaten cause of the nerf or buffs like the overshoot with bullseye we can’t beat that anymore so tell do you want us to enjoy this game or get us to hate your game and pls and a difficulty level I just want to enjoy myself playing games not getting stress out cause of a game that not fair at all.

Game needs some work, period. This is a decent card-based strategy game. The game looks good and runs fine, but the problem lies in the balancing of the game. The entire game runs on the principle of luck. If you don’t get the right cards at the beginning of a game, you are screwed. If your opponent draws the exact card they need, then they can blow you back entirely. Most of the “strategy” in this game comes from conjuring (creating cards mid game that wouldn’t normally be in your deck) random legendary cards and then winning on the turn you play them. There is a decent game here, but it needs some SERIOUS updates before I can say it’s a well balanced game that’s worth your time. My opinion: don’t download this. There are other games that function on the same principal system as this game that are far more balanced and fun to play. P.S. : If you don’t have tons of money to put into this game it’s not worth getting started at this point. The game has progress so far that if you don’t have the best cards you WILL LOSE every if not almost every game you play.

A good balance until it isn’t. This game has had me hooked on it for years, with its competitive nature and it’s strategic gameplay have thoroughly enjoyed playing this game online. This is a bit of a personal gripe and why I won’t give it five stars but the zombies are too busted. I am a plant player through and through, and I have lost too many games to stupid gimmicks all because zombies get a natural upper hand playing cards after the plants are able to play cards. The amount of leverage they have when it comes to their card, selection and tricks is unmatched compared to the plants, and I don’t think the scaling is fair. think it works with them having two turns in the plants having one, but it only works if you Nerf their tricks a bit. They should have to place terrain turn one bot turn three. And also the gargantuan, bell and cards like that is so stupid. That’s my piece but this game is great! ( minus you zombie try hard sweats )

Nice but causally boring. It’s a great game! The puzzles and strategies to win levels, despite no ads, it can get a bit repetitive but then soon it won’t but then a cycle starts, overall, it’s a good game Edit: I have gotten a bigger experience on the game now and the game is now worse and better in my opinion now, the worse part is your luck, especially with the super block, so let’s say you are gonna die when the water lane is activated in combat, a card is in a empty lane and kill the opponent, that’s when if you roll a 2 on his meter, you lose just to a 1/3 chance, there has to be at least some system with the meter luck of that happening, but the game is better because even if you have only common cards but a few uncommon and fewer rares and super rares, you can still win if the opponent has a few overpowered cards like thinking cap, soul patch but the next example is debatable sense it’s seeding or molekale, overall, it’s hard for me to say it’s better, worse, or nothing changed, still a good game, have that right at least…

This game WAS good.. I decided recently to play this game again with a friend but realized for some reason that I can not access my account to the fullest. In settings there is supposed to be a button that says “my account”. That is where you access your account information. The button WAS there, but now it isn’t. It might have something to do with the latest update, I do not know. The reason I am pulling up that button is because that is not the main thing that is missing, just ONE of the things that is missing. The other essential thing that is missing is the FRIENDS LIST! I can’t challenge my friend to a duel without being able to even friend him in the first place! This used to be the best mobile game I have ever had. But it looks like EA got carried away and screwed up somewhere along the line and made their game unplayable with friends. I am very disappointed and expect EA to fix this in the near future. This game went from far beyond five stars to a 1 star very quickly. EA please fix this. (No my account is not underage, I can play multiplayer for God’s sake, I just can’t play with friends which by the way playing with friends and playing online has pretty much no difference) Thanks for Reading!

And Zombies Win..Again. I’m a long time player and have seen this game evolve over time. Unfortunately the developers have all but abandoned the game and haven’t made any meaningful updates ( i.e. no new cards, hero’s, or boards) or competitive balance adjustments in years. Which brings me to my issue with the current game. The game play is so heavily skewed to the zombies that it A) is too easy to win as a zombie and B) too frustrating to play as a plant. The developer needs to make some serious competitive adjustments and introduce new cards to help level the playing field. It simply makes no sense for zombies to have the advantage of going first, then getting to play tricks after the plant player goes, then getting to attack first. In addition, the cost of the cards disproportionately favors zombies. For example, The zombies have a trick that does 7 damage and costs two brains. By comparison the plants have a card that does 5 damage but costs 5 suns. To put this in perspective , that two brain trick will knock out any 5+ sun plant that is played. Ridiculous. Look elsewhere for your card games. There are many better options out there that offer more balance.

Don’t listen to the complaints!. So far, this is a seriously fun game. I love everything from the new update cards, to the competition in the 1v1s. The constant new cards and diverse heroes will allow everyone to experiment with their decks and give a fun, challenging battle to everyone. Now, most people say that the zombies and plants are unbalanced (zombies are apparently better than the plants in this case), but to me it’s a complete lie. No deck will completely destroy every deck in the universe and one card cannot immediately win for you. For example, a card I hear complaints about a lot for us the zombot makes a gargantuar in every land. However, it costs a lot of brains and you can open up with a bunch of plants and overwhelm them, forcing them to not play it yet. It irritates to see a bunch of people say it’s unbalanced when there’s so much stuff you can do to counter it and win. So don’t let these complaints about unbalanced cards affect your decision. If anything, it gives you a reason to start experimenting. It’s a work of art and I hope to see amazing updates in the future.

Pay to Win a broken game. I have played this game for a week now and I have to say this is the worst card game I have EVER played on the App Store. If you were looking for a sign not to get the game this is it. You are constantly pestered with advertisements begging you, like a puppy when it wants a treat, to allow them to stick their hands in your wallet. Maybe you can look past that though if the game mechanics are good. Well Surprise!!! They aren’t. The cards are either over powered or underpowered. The game is just as balanced as when they added Brigitte to overwatch. (For non gamers this means not very balanced). However BY FAR the worst part of the game has to be multiplayer. There is no skill based matchmaking system in place. So, you get to take your incomplete deck, and fight level 20+ people who have spent a fair deal of money. Sadly level 5 me wanting to compete with the big dogs purchased some cards (yes, with real money). After paying I can confidently say you would be better off sticking cold hard cash into blender and turning it on. The only enjoyable thing about the game is seeing old and new plants v zombie characters. But to save time and money you could just google a photo of them instead. TLDR- unbalanced cards and game play mechanics paired with no skill based matchmaking makes this game an unplayable mess.

Rng. Pretty cool concept would be better it’s made by somebody else heels are so stupid in this gameWheneverYou get here you get a shield peace and if the shield pieces all line up you get a block attack the thing is how many Shield pieces you get is random so Little Timmy 444 could get three shield pieces and block a incredibly strong attack but you could need to shield pieces to block attack that does 10 damage and you will get one that could determine if you win the game or not also in my opinion plant skills referring to the skills that go on the card should only be activated before the round starts battling because randomly you would have the perfect set up and then randomly he put down the corn does for damage to all your people and you lose Not to mention it’s a pay to win if you really spend your money to max out The best heroes which are the tree stump the zombie on the floating chair and the scientist then you’re basically unstoppable in the early game and may be in the medium game because you just have so many cars that are unstoppable and Scarlet 22 isn’t going to know what to do if you start placing the cards that zero of her cards counter. SoOverall review if you’re down to spend money on this game then you’re going to have probably a great time but it’s not it’s still can be fun but if you hate luck based games don’t download

Love this game!. I enjoy playing this game because I've been a long time fan of Plants vs. Zombies. This game adds a new twist with card collection and battling from both good & evil sides. I wish it was easier to collect gems or easier to get a new hero. That aside, there are some flaws, suggestions, and just really awesome things that need to be addressed. First of all- NOT A PAY TO WIN GAME. Even if you are a newer player. Persistence, guys! Another thing- the super block not going off is not a bug- it’s when you have 10 or more cards in your hand. The daily challenges need to be fixed- I’m not enjoying the repeats for the puzzles. A suggestion that I have is to put in a 2v2 mode- play with 3 a.i. Bots or with 3 other players. Some say that zombie are too overpowered- if you want to play as a plant hero, make your own strategy decks that can counter the zombies. Overall- there are some things that need to be fixed. But, awesome game and would recommend to everyone.

Neglected game. I have been playing plants versus zombies since the original game first came out over a decade ago and I was super excited when this new addition to the franchise became available. It’s highly addicting, offers fun challenges and great animation and character variety. However, I’ve noticed for over a year now that the game is very buggy and has long needed an overhaul when it comes to an update. There are in-game advertisements all the time that offer a guaranteed card but when you purchase that deck the card is in fact not in the stack. Also the daily challenges on multiple instances have become impossible to beat because they have not kept up with the changes they have made over the last few years to certain cards making the winning streak unattainable. Reaching out to support or reporting a bug is very difficult and this has increasingly become more frustrating as it’s apparent the game has been abandoned by EA. There’s an entire community out here that are upset about this and nothing is being done about it. This once was a great game but now it’s just another app I play once a day will eventually delete.

Love the game but please update. I love this game and play it every day, but you should update the game. I get it you are working on PvZ 2 but maybe come back and update this game too. Maybe a new pack with some more cards like maybe some from PvZ 2 like strawburst or others. Just a suggestion. Or maybe sone new content. I love PvZ 2 as well but this game hasn’t been updated in a year and PvZ 2 updated a couple days ago. Maybe take a break from pvz2 for a second and do stuff with this game. And if you are reading this to see if you want the game then, it’s an awesome game and it is so fun it’s a card type game where you play cards that are tricks ordepending on if your a plant or a zombie, those cards. I am just saying please do some updates please read this Popcap and please at least do something with the game I love it but please add another pack like maybe a Jurassic pack or something to add to the gameplay. I Love This Game, But It Has Angering Issues.. PvZ Heroes, right? It’s a really great game. It’s super fun to play online, it’s pretty, it’s creative, but in my opinion, there are some certain things that ruin it for me. One thing is how much it feels like you have the grind out the game to get efficient decks. Sure, the Gacha rates are pretty decent, but it feels like advancing your deck just requires too much time on this game. It isn’t horrible, but it just leaves something to desire. Now one thing I very much dislike about this game isn’t even about the game itself. The game just... loves crashing. It just does. Whenever you’re into a game and you are about to win, the game just crashes. And it’s unexplainable how it does, because back when I had my old account, the game ran perfectly with no issues, but with my new phone (iPhone 7 it’s not really that new) it just crashes randomly. But otherwise, I don’t think this game has much to improve other than single player features. The single player is... okay. It’s just kinda a feature that exists, yknow? There’s nothing different from it than dumb cpu and occasionally unfair boss battles. The game is good but it needs improvement and bug fixes. Fin. Edit to this review: GOD THE CRASHING IS ANNOYING. Used to be a great game! Now Pay to win. I downloaded this game years ago when it first came out and it was awesome. Each time you played with the NPC a story line came up to build into the battle with that specific character. It was fun to watch and I was looking forward to it. Just a fun thing that was added. The battles were challenging too, but now it’s crazy. Super hard to win and the stories were even removed. Moving to PVP: It’s a 100% pay to win now! The decks are pre-made. So you just have to get the cards and the already made decks are there for you. They moved into this direction because now it’s fully focused on trying to get the cards for those decks to win. Anyone can just come in and buy the cards and that’s it. Doesn’t matter the level that you are. This leads to getting gems harder now because to win a PvP game for gems is a hassle. Tons of people with insane decks at low level makes it impossible to win (If you’re not buying cards that is). This takes the fun away and just makes the game frustrating…sadly. So in short, what used to be an awesome game, became a Pay to win. If you have money for cards, you’ll have fun. Otherwise, don’t even bother with this.

Zombie side overpowered. I feel like the zombie side is overpowered, yes I know they made improvements, but honestly it doesn’t matter if a plants health is at ten if you have deadly. I feel that they should give plants more abilities or make zombies weaker. I was playing a game when the zombie player had 3 zombies on the lawn then he played Bad moon rising, I had full health and lost that turn. There is no plant card that can do that not even molekale thats just 1 more sun not 6 sun or more like bad moon rising.I was still looking and it got me thinking about environments. The zombies have a environment called transformation station, that turns the zombie there into a zombie that costs 1 brain more, plants don’t have anything like that the only thing close is Force Field but plants there can still be destroyed by tricks speaking of tricks lets talk about those. The plants have a trick called petal-morphosis “turn a plant in to a another plant” cost 4 sun, now the zombies have a trick called evolutionary leap “ turn a zombie into a zombie that cost one more “ cost 2 brains, so not only are you guaranteed a better zombie it cost less, I have herd story’s about petal-morphosis turning plants into worse plants. So please do something for the plants

Good game but balance issues. I think this game is fun it’s always frustrating because a lot of it is luck and better cards, but still fun. In my opinion though zombies seem to be more favored specifically professor brainstorm. I only ever see him now I played 5 game in a row and all 5 were him. I understand some low cost cards are better cause u pay for them or grind for them, but you shouldn’t be able to fill the whole board by turn 2. The mustache zombie isn’t the only zombies I find unbalanced, but it’s the most recent thing I’ve been up against. By turn 2 he had 2 mustache zombies that were 2/5s and 2 mustache zombies that were 2/2 bullseyes. I know some cards are better but that’s ridiculous. I understand you can pay to get better cards, but I don’t think they should just out right destroy you by the second turn. Then what’s the point of playing the game just because you can’t spend as much money. Also I don’t know how I keep disconnecting when I’m at home when my wifi is fine I think it’s a bug Pretty fun game though.

Unbalanced. I’m slowly starting to become very unsatisfied with the game mostly because I represent the plants all the time but as far as I’m concerned zombies are really really strong. when you look closely to game balancing the zombies have way too much strength in the fact that weekly event cards throw the game out of balance all the time. The new colossal fossil DLC as well as “game balancing” does not make any sense. I love this game and I love the series but as far as I’m concerned it is starting to lose my interest because playing ranked matches it’s becoming an impossible feat. I am also noticing that this game is started become more of a pay to play game Players being able to buy a card packs is starting to become really over powered. Hopefully Popcap can make a cap on the amount of card you’re able to buy with actual money. Again this game needs more insight into game balancing in favor of the plants because tricks or started come very difficult to deal with and zombies are way too strong. please fix this because a lot of players are starting to not want to play anymore.

Great game!. The game is really good, barring the fact that this game is obviously pay to win. Legendaries are almost impossible to get except maybe you get 2 or 3, but most of those aren’t the best like zombot, and the game is really fun, I just wish there was an easier way of getting certain cards, but you can still make great decks without those if you use the right cards. I also wanted to mention that not every card will get the same usage. For example, after the start, you’re never going to use Weenie Beanie basically ever again, and same with pea shooter, but certain cards that are common like ninja zombie or arm wrestler are still really good top tier, and I love that you can get event cards for free if you log in once a day to play the daily challenge, as event cards are probably second to only legendaries, so thanks for not being 100% pay to win, EA. But that’s just my thoughts, so I recommend playing, but don’t spend money, ITS A TRAP.

CHANGE. THE. BONUS. PLANT. HEROS.. I swear to God, since Christmas the bonus plant hero’s have only been either Spudow or Captain Combustible. Often times it’s been the same one two weeks in a row. I’m completely fed up with it and am about to permanently quit this game. I used to occasionally drop some money on this, but since the repetition started I’ve stopped because I don’t want to drop money to possibly not be able to use the cards I get. The main thing that keeps me invested in the game is earning the event cards, so I can eventually play them. Used to be that you’d get to play them plenty the following week when the bonus hero would be a deck that used those cards. Now that’s both not happening, I don’t feel like playing the same hero for the millionth time in a row in the past three months, and I’m quickly losing interest without the feeling of something to progress towards. I tried to report this in game multiple times to someone who might try to suggest doing something about this and never received anything other than “thank you for your feed back” or what was essentially “not my department”. Now you have this feedback permanently negatively impacting your rating for everyone to see. If you don’t want to also permanently lose the chance of getting money from me again change your system back to not allowing repeat hero or hero types for the plant heros. At the very least, work some solar or smarty heros in there every couple of weeks. This has been ridiculous.

Fun game, but there’s a huge issue:. I’ve played this game for a long time now, and I’ve enjoyed it a lot. Up until recently, when I noticed how hard it was to basically play the game. Every time you went up against a zombie hero (or any hero at all), their cards blatantly changed every turn. I can tell because every card they had perfectly countered everything I had at any time. For example, Super Brainz had about 3 gargantuars from a single deck, which he all placed down within 2 turns. And it’s super hard to get new plants and/or zombies, because the packs are so expensive. Plus, some zombies that should be expensive usually end up costing less than 3 brains. The same does NOT go with the plants, however. A super underpowered plant could cost 4 Sun, or one that’s actually good could just burn your Sun as it proceeds to get instakilled the next turn due to how inexpensive the zombies/zombie tricks are. If these issues get fixed, it’d be an easy 5-star rating, no doubt. But for now, you’ll find me barely squeezing by on what was supposed to be the first level to a new episode.

Love , but disappointed at glitches and needs some nerfs. They have been trying to balance the game a lot lately and that’s great but they may have done too much at ones with the last expansion they got a tiny bit sloppy .... it’s hard to contact EA with a complaint without dedicating way too much time so I’m trying my luck here. First Immorticia’s bat ability clams to be amphibious but you still can’t play it in the water lane ..... force field (environment: plants can’t be hurt) and soul Patch (card: takes damage instead of your hero) should not be able to be a total win con (there is absolutely no way to kill him when he’s in environment without another environment ) it’s circumstantial but it’s still too OP . These two have been problems for a while (Immortica’s not as long) they use to fix stuff way faster they have more cards now but still it feels like no one in charge is playing the game just throwing out ideas .... it’s fun but with all the crazy things you can do no one would see all the glitches without playing themselves... would still highly recommend just trying to get things patched without spending forever figuring out how to reach EA .....they have a lot more weirdness but those are the things that made me loss today lol .

4.5 stars rounded up. I would give this game 4 and a half stars if I could but since I can’t I’ll give it five and round up because the game does deserve the round up. My only grievance on the game is your opposition is given the upper hand in this game. When I play against the CPU I always see the amount of brains or sun that they have and think “there’s no way that could’ve happened.” The opposition always has the best plays, and when they bounce a random zombie or remove a random plant, it’s always your toughest plant or zombies removed but when you make the same move of bouncing a random zombie or removing a random plant it takes the CPU’s weakest. Don’t get me wrong, I love the challenge, but a lot of the times it crosses the line from challenge to unfair. It may be an oversight of the game makers and it maybe just the random picks of the cards, I’m not sure what it is but sometimes the game is unfair. But honestly it’s a great game! Like I said I would go 4.5 but instead of rounding down to 4 I rounded up to 5 because that’s what’s fair and that’s what this game deserves if I can’t do a 4.5. Thanks popcap for putting together yet another great PvZ game! I also wish that you could control your blocking in the game but the blocks are random. Yet when you play against the computer the computer always blocks at the right time where as your character...not so much. Just another way that this game tilts in favor against the player

Great game. I love this game! I play it almost 6 hours a day every day, however there are a few things I would do to improve the game. 1: I would release a set 5 - the community for this game is still strong and set 4 came out like 2 years ago. Set 5 could really increase revenue for the game and help to make it more popular 2: I would market the game a bit more - the game is very hard to put down after you start playing, but not enough people know about it, if it had more marketing the game could spike in popularity 3: I would fix the gash darn daily challenge for September 27th. The challenge is currently impossible and is preventing me from getting my weekly pack. This issue is very annoying and the sooner it is fixed the better 4: I would add more weekly event cards for us players to grind for Now because I love the game and don’t want people decide not to get It based on my review, here are some things I like about the game 1: I love the daily challenges - I get on as soon as the clock hits 11 each morning to complete my daily challenge, I haven’t missed a day in weeks (aside from today with the impossible challenge) 2: I love the quests - they provide a good way to get gems making it easier to progress 3: I love all the synergies between cards - It makes it way more fun to make a deck when you keep in mind synergies between cards like pogo mixed up grave digger. Overall the game is an easy 10/10 for me I just wish it would get a little more love from popcap

Fun until this. This game was fun up until the plant quests became so hard it was like trying to paint a wall with a toothpick. It would be easier if there were a wider selection of packs, and it was easier to get gems. Also, up until world eleven, you can beat the levels but you may lose here and there. And I get it. I mean, I have lost a few myself. But I have been stuck on the boss of world eleven for six days. And the Zombie one is a bit easier, since I am only on world three in there, but it still is hard. Just make it easier to get packs, and I will up my rating. I also want to say that the bosses get so hard it is literally impossible to beat that world. I would not recommend this game if you hate having your opponent to have the upper hand and the lucky cards every. Single. Round. Please make the computer weaker because it gets so hard that it is not possible to beat. Also, Since EA never listens to ANY comments, I am not sure why I have this crappy game in the first place. What EA should be doing is actually listening to the many complaints that they are getting. Absolute trash. I would rather stare at the wall than play an ad fest with an occasional overpowered pay to win battle. P.S. if you are hunkymonkey19 and you are reading this, use other plant heroes to try and win. If that does not work, then lose a bunch of battles and the game will give you a free pack for green shadow. I tried it and it gave me a super rare and I was able to beat the level. Cya!

Has great potential, needs improvement. Ok, this game has the potential to be simply amazing. The card system works well, you can play forever, and you don't have to get addicted to be good. But if you download, get ready to spend. And the multiplayer battles need improvement. I hate how I almost always get people better than me. And there are some serious glitches. A couple days ago, I won a battle and would have advanced to the next rank with the stars I won. But it just didn't give me my stars, and now I'm locked in a win-lose cycle preventing me from advancing. I know other people with similar complaints. Also, as Prof. brainstorm, I always get his terrible ability, dance-off, to start with. Eureka, his signature ability, is incredible and to start with it almost guarantees victory. I think there is actual coding making it less likely to get that than others. I will begin recording how often I get it, it is so annoying. So I would recommend downloading, but prepare to be frustrated as well as amazed.

Game is IMPOSSIBLE to WIN!!!. This game is so unfair because the AI opponents always have the most top tier decks and the most ungodly luck. It is almost impossible to beat the AI without all those fancy “legendary cards”, and the chances of getting said cards are slim to none. I’ve opened countless packs, (probably around 100) and you wanna know how many legendary cards I actually have? Eight. Eight legendary cards. Most of them aren’t even used in strategy decks anyway so what’s the point?! I haven’t been able to even unlock, much less COMPLETE any of the strategy decks in the game. The packs and heroes cost way too much and take FOREVER. Seriously! It shouldn’t take 2-3 days to open a pack just to get six cards! I actually bought $10 worth of gems just to buy Chompzilla out of pure anguish because of how impossibly hard the Plant Missions are. Know what $10 buys you in this game? 1,100 gems. It seems like a lot, but do you know how many gems a Hero Pack costs? 750 gems. 750 gems for a hero and 20 cards. Call me a gamer rager, I don’t care. Just fix your stupid game, EA! What a way to drive an already dying series further into the ground. Such a blood-sucking, money-grubbing, scummy corporation. Shame on you, EA.

It crashes every 2 games.... This game is absolutely phenomenal. I got hearthstone recently and I absolutely hated it. I’m glad it was free. I then remembered the existence of this game and I immediately deleted hearthstone over this one. The nostalgia and the gameplay is so great, with all the very unique status effects, environments, tricks, and game-changing cards. This game really does deserve more than 5 stars. Except there is one factor that makes me dread it at the same time. The fact that the app has been around for years now and it still cannot allow you to play vs with friends in any simple push of a button. Back then I used to play with my brother after closing the app a few times just hoping it will say he is online. Now it doesnt show the availability at all. My only other complaint is that it will kick you from the app in the middle of a game with no show of why every other game. This isn’t an exaggeration, at least for me. My brother has been kicked before but not as often as me. This game is great, but after so many years of it being out it still has the same insanely irritating bugs.

New players or F2P are not welcome. I’ve been playing this game for over a year now and it’s very good for me and somewhat stable but you need to spend some money on the game if you want a chance in multiplayer. They haven’t even come out with balance changes in almost a year now and daily challenges are always recycled. It is very hard to start this game this late in its life because you are at a disadvantage because back in the early life of the game a lot of cards had a lower rarity than they do now (ex. Super rare cards that used to be rare) which made the cards more easily craftable. So new players don’t have that opportunity. My idea too keep the players left on this game is that the developers needs to let players have more creativity. One thing I would really like is private custom matches with friends. You should be able to make your own game with customizable settings like starting health and what happens at the start or end of turns, kind of like making your own daily challenge. Don’t expect any new content for the rest of this game’s life and balance changes would be rare to see. Edit: as of the latest bug fix update that came out a week ago, I have been frequently crashing, and not just in the menu. It’s happened in few multiplayer games as well. Please don’t leave the game in a buggy state like this because I know This game is already abandoned by the devs

Do not download. This game used to be good but it has been abandoned by its developers. No new content in nearly a year. Daily challenges have been on a loop and are being constantly recycled. And even the special “event cards” are just the same cards they’ve been for the past year and some change When Halloween of last year came out I was excited to get the special Halloween cards, but then when those same cards came out again this year...well you can imagine how that would feel. When they go from being so involved and even creating a card based off of the Chinese Zodiac, and then just stop putting out any content altogether it makes the fan base feel like all the time and energy they put into a game is being tossed out the window. So basically if you download this game just know that you’re getting a game that currently has an extremely spammy and broken meta, you won’t be getting new content, and if you’d be hoping for some involvement from the game creators then you’d definitely be outta luck

Zero stars.. I oils stop playing this game. It’s rigged. They hire people to write good reviews on here and delete bad reviews. Play marvel’s contest of champions instead of this game. This game crashes. I constantly get games where every time I would get hit I would get one bar of power but the AI kept getting three bars. Computer is extremely rigged. I have had games where I would draw the same starting cards all the time (I was drawing the environment card that gives plants -1 -1 all the time). I have a great deck with legendaries but the A.I keeps winning. Good luck trying to win in this game. It’s rigged by design for you to pay to win. This game is just a moneymaker for EA from the ads you have to watch to get diamonds to the packs you have to pay to get cards. Plus, the computer always has a comeback card even if you’re close to winning. When you get hit you only get one square of the block meter out of three. Seriously, fix the block meter! It takes forever to use your hero’s power up (most of the time I don’t use my power up until my hero’s life is 6) while the opponent can get a power up as soon as their life is 16. This is a pay to win and even if you give them money it’s still not a guaranteed win. EA should get what’s coming to them with their greedy gaming tactics.

Great but some problems. This game is great but the AI is too freaking good they act like real players when I didn’t have legendary’s I couldn’t even beat them the fact you need event and legendary’s to win a battle against the AI is ridiculous I’m hoping that they will make the AI not as good, they play 4 Disco nuts in one game and 4 punish shrooms and I can’t do anything about it, worst of all they even boost them and they keep killing my defenses Also the fact you gave the Disco Nut 8 health now, is ridiculous and it is was all ready a pain to deal with, now it’s even more painful to deal with. For instance winning against Wall Knight AI and then he places that Disco Nut and then all they do it play nuts same with the Punish Shroom The AI Nightcap Had 4 health remaining then placed to punish shrooms and a shroom for two and blocked all lanes with mushrooms so Every time I killed one it may be random but it always did damage to my hero or the dude who will destroy the Punish shroom, these two characters in decks are to OP. The games great but fix the AI and Nerf those Characters

Love the game, but hate one glitch…. I have faithfully played this game for years and continue to enjoy it, however I’m hoping this review will see a bug fixed. This happened before and after I upgraded my phone and has happened on my iPad. When the loading screen appears after you’ve been matched with another player to fight, it will often become stuck, continuing to be a black screen with “loading” at the bottom right. Then we you restart the app, it’ll initially show that you have your correct trophy rating, however you will not progress even if you win. Either the glitch needs to be fixed, or at the very least you shouldn’t be penalized for the app glitching. On the topic of penalties, I wish there were a system in place to penalize people who close out their games voluntarily rather than concede or finish the game. It’s unsportsmanlike and rude. I can’t imagine it’s that difficult to insert that into the game. Otherwise, thank you to the team who makes the game and the maintains it. Not ashamed to say I’ve even spent money on it.

Updates Coming Soon?. I have quite a long story, so apologies of this is a lengthy review. About a year ago, when this game was really big, a group of friends and I played this game all the time. We were so happy whenever card balance updates or new card packs would come out every couple of months. Then, everything just stopped. The game stopped updating for a while, and it honestly got kind of boring. I eventually uninstalled the game. After that, about once every month I checked back at the App Store and looked to see if the game had updated. After six months, it finally did, and needless to say, I was stoked! I told the whole group that the game had updated and I started playing again. Now, we’re playing and enjoying the game again. PopCap and EA, I hope that you continue to update the game and that the latest update was not a one-off deal. It will really make the whole community happy if you introduced new cards into the game. Appreciate it. Now onto the actual review. If you are looking for a exciting but whimsical card battle game, then this is for you. It has simple-to-learn mechanics and fun gameplay that is truly unique from other cards battle games. I think that it would be worth the reader’s time to take a swing at this game, you will not regret it. Thanks for reading the review, and I would appreciate it a lot of the developers read it too. 😄

Great game, but. I have been playing this game for over two years now and am still finding different ways of playing, different decks different characters, it’s an easy to pick up card game that has a surprising amount of depth. BUT this game has been crashing for me and my friend a lot recently which is painful because I’ve lost many ranked stars over this issue due to it instantly forfeiting the match and not allowing me to even try and connect back

Fantastic game. This is one of my favourite games. I have loved the Plants vs Zombies franchise for years, and it just keeps getting better. The only issue I have with it, is for the past few months, every now and again, the app will crash a few seconds after it loads. This will happen for a few days, and then it will work fine again. But overall, a great game!

Great game but 1 thing. This game is absolutely amazing and enjoyable to play but for some reason, the friends button at the bottom of the main screen is not not there. So it only shows Packs, Tickets and Collection. Is this normal, because my friends that I play against have the button there but I don’t.

One of the events is impossible to beat. I like the game so far, but one of the events has one of the zombies being buff too much and that zombie is Cryo Yeti. Back when Cryo Yeti doesn’t have the gravestone ability, it’s possible to beat it, but when you developers give Cryo Yeti the gravestone, It is impossible to beat it. So please Pop cap, nerf Cryo Yeti and remove Cryo Yeti’s gravestone ability so that we can beat the event.

Has become the worst of the worst. Used to be a great game, now has evolved into worse than worst. Daily challenge are all old content, and the card mechanism has been changed, which means there is absolutely no way to win the daily challenge using the new characteristics of the cards. If people don’t realise that, they would just keep watching ads to try daily challenge again to earn money for EA Games but can never win. If you want to contact support to tell them about the bug or feedback, you either never hear back, or wait in the line with 99+ people in front of you every time (not sure if it’s even real), but the estimated waiting time for online support is always 170+ minutes, and if you don’t leave your phone screen on for a few seconds, you lose connection and end up at the bottom of (probably an imaginary) line. What a joke... Shame on EA!!!

My game keeps crashing when the game is about end with a win.. Most of the battles I do I win on them, but some of the battles are on the urge of winning when mega combos are on. Each time these mega combos happen, the just crashes right before the battle was about to end with a win. Please fix it if it is a bug. Overall the game is fun and runs well on a low quality device.

I like it but.... Been playing this game for a few weeks now. Very fun and designs are great. It's not a pay to play but definitely pay to win as you can get cards that will win you the game more than strategy does. That asides the live vs are great if only matchmaking was any good. To many times I would get queued up with someone in diamond rank when I'm only a Silver/gold rank or matched with someone much lower rank than me making the game obviously one sided and no fun. I think the game would definitely improve if matchmaking was better or it could be that it's bad because there aren't enough players. I also encountered a problem where my daily didn't register in the game when I had actually already completed it, and when I went to report the problem I noticed that they said something along the lines of "bugs will be investigated and fixed but not compensated". I'm sorry but that's just poor effort. It's definitely a game I'm not putting money in especially when there are other games that try so much harder.

Was great for ages but an issue has risen. I’ve loved this game for many years and put lots of time into it, but a bug (intentional or not) has caused the app to say “an internet connection is required to download the necessary files to play” every time I log in. I always have an internet connection and have tried mobile data and different internets. I’m annoyed at this and they haven’t fixed it either because they don’t want to or have given up on the game. I’m really disappointed, but what more can I expect with EA taking over?

Bring this game back. This game is absolutely amazing. It’s plants vs zombies taking on a new kind of strategy, what’s not to like. This game did everything right, it keeps that quirky goofy feeling that plants vs zombies gives while staying action packed. It has a bunch of new plants and zombies while still returning our old favourites. This game is amazing but the only problem is the devs discontinued its development. If we got a few balance changes and a few new update drops this game could become the best strategy game on the App Store. I believe in this game and love it to bits please make it even better

Latest edition update is irritating.. It's Nov 7th / 17 and the lad test update I find irritating, although I am sure it is great to have the new perks and different cards / evolutions. However, with every update something is taken away. This time, the ability to play the game without wifi / internet connection is gone. I can no longer play this if I am not connected to a internet source. If this doesn't change, I will likely delete the app as I use it frequently when transiting and trying to pass the time.

Amazing game but highly chance-based gameplay. I have been playing plants vs zombies game for a few years now and have to say this is the best one yet. Its really fun and addicting and every spare minute of the day i will find myself playing this. However, to actually win you need to have luck as nearly half of the cards have something to do with chance, extremely annoying when i know i can win but opponent gets super lucky with a card they have or with the super block metre. I know that the game wouldn’t be the same with the cards that are based on luck, and i don’t think they should change, but the super block metre definitely needs to be changed. Instead of every attack adding 1, 2 or 3 sections, an easy option would just to make it 2. Have lost many games to this and would be thrilled if it got changed. Though thanks for the amazing game EA, excited to see all the new features and to see the game grow.

Glitches. Hey I love the game so much one if my favourites buy there are some small issues that have started yesterday with the game the frenzie , strike through , an all the other special abilities don’t work all the time and the block meter fills to full and works random an not when it’s supposed to if u could fix these issues that would great thank you :) Also would it be ok if you bring out 2 new heroes for the colossal fossil

Great game but seems abandoned. Fantastic game but seems like it has been abandoned. Seems almost impossible to get the last 2 Heroes that were added if you didn’t manage to get them previously. If nothing else is updated in the game a hero pack with gems or real money to get Beta and Huge hereos would be amazing. Best game on iOS even though it doesn’t get updated anymore.

This needs a special episode of air crash investigations. I love that I can always rely on this game to crash every 40mins or so like clockwork. You lose whatever you were in the middle of good or bad. The actual game is fun but, be prepared to pay a few bucks for premium cards or you will just lose constantly. Aside from the crashing, the only other annoying thing was the time it takes between turns which mysteriously fixed itself once I paid for cards..... I wonder why?...... Overall, I would recommend the game if you have a few bucks to burn, don’t mind waiting mindlessly for a computer to pretend it’s thinking and believe that fate is best expressed in random, yet somewhat, regular crashes.

Good game but glitches. The game is good. Theres no doubt about that. The game is fun, easy to rank up but is still rewarding, the card unlocking system in my opinion is not that great but is creative and still is effective. As good as it is though there are glitches. For one I played this game about a year ago, then got back into it. And everything was the same, but my hero’s. I had green shadow and super brains, but before I had spudow and Chompzilla (can’t remember zombie side) now I have everyone BUT those two on plant side. (excluding that new hero which I can’t remember there name) another bug I have encountered many times is a bug online were it will crash my game. I find really annoying when I’m doing good in a match then my game just crashes and forfeits me. I don’t really mind the first bug that happened (I think it happened because I transferred data to my new phone) but I would like the second one to be fixed. If it gets fixed, my rating will change to 4.5 stars.

FUN AND ADDICTING. This game is sooooo fun this is all I play in my free time it is epic so fun never running out of things to do and not a Pay To Win what this game did to get 4 not 5 stars is that battles espically competitive are so annoying I'm a silver league person vs legends or tacos and puzzle party's are a bit to hard another few reasons is they made more cards legendary making it harder to become better the last thing keeping it from 5 stars is when I'm about to beat legends and tacos they rage quit there definitely should not be a penalty for quitting but a sorry gift for ruining the fun heros should be easier to get FINALLY a suggestion there should be a pack containing 1-5 legendary that should be avail each for 500 gems and everybody should get 2 for free otherwise AMAZING GAME KEEP UP THE EFFORT Btw there should be a Kiwi beast (when it gets hurt it gets 1/1 starts at 1/3) for players who play PvZ 2 and players who plays PvZ 2 should get a cornucopia if they play this game the cornucopia when plant folded should make a random plant in every other area

What you’d expect from EA. To start with, this game is alright. It’s what you’d expect from a mobile game. That being said, the game is fun for only the first few hours. After this the game feels unbelievably unbalanced. Every battle becomes a chore to complete as you have to keep restarting the battle over and over to hope that your starting hand is better then the A.I’s. This makes the game extremely tedious as you have to spend forever hoping to win off of luck rather then skill. The game becomes a grind quickly and can be super confusing at times due to the extreme quantity of cards. The first few levels are alright and fun, both the A.I and yourself have similar cards with slight variations, but as you go on, the A.Is cards upgrade as you are left with the same cards. This basically feels like it’s trying to get you to pay for card packets rather then earning them. To be fair, what else would I expect from E.A at this point. As this is also a mobile turn based card game I feel the constant restarting of the same level because the bots have better cards then you becomes a pain, mainly as the majority of players (myself included) play this game 20 mins a day on the bus home from work. Overall, I would say this game is good to play for like 2 hours, but after that you may as well play something or create a new account to start from the beginning.

Rigged trash. The special events are only special in one way - they’re designed to make you lose. Countless times have I gotten a one block all the while my enemy gets triple blocks every. single. time. The algorithms are obviously rigged. And what’s more - your deck is guaranteed to lose if you fight specific enemies. You can’t win in those situations when you’re fighting a completed which is DESIGNED to win in any way possible. I’ve gotten quite far in this game - but not without losing most of my sanity trying to overcome the impossible odds and downright scandalous marketing so that you can get crappy cards to recycle for more “sparks”. EA screwed up the marketing, and PopCap screwed up the gameplay.

The issues of PvZ Heroes. I have been playing this game since the release date and it is a very fun game. The introduction to new mechanics such as environments and the new sets have created some new and interesting combinations or archetypes and decks. I have halted my game progress as the meta game has gone stale. Why? Cause they haven’t updated the game for over 5 months. There has not been any new content and the players are stuck with old content such as recycled quests, deck meta archetypes such as freeze or aggro pirates, bugs for over 5 months. This does not help the fact that the potential of this game has been under-utilised. New game modes/UI upgrades such as a draft mode or an actual ranked/worldwide competitive ladder will vastly attract professional card game players as well as incentivise more of the player base to strive to climb the ladder all the way to ultimate league with a goal to be the best rather than sit on diamond league and stop playing till the season resets. Popcap plz update this game if you want to keep your fans/player base happy and have at least 7 ppl working on PvZ heroes while the rest of the 100s of ppl work on your new garden warfare game.

Great game, abandoned by EA. This game is great but it’s been completely abandoned by the developer, beyond the occasional security update. There haven’t been content balances or updates for years, to the extent that there are known daily challenge puzzles that can’t be completed anymore due to card changes. 5 stars for the concept, 2 stars for caring about original IP.

Great game, but with random crashes. Hey, I wanted to say your development in this game is excellent and pleasing. I main The Smash a lot and I’m getting quite balanced wins and losses. The only thing that bugs me is the random crashes that happen during battles. At random times, the sound glitches out, the game freezes into dead frames, and then the app automatically closes. It’s a disappointing crash because sometimes, I lost my win streak. Developers, I f you’re reading this, please come back to bug fixes and resolve the crashes please? Rigged. This game is so rigged it’s ridiculous. The AI determines beforehand which player it wants to win and promptly gives them every card they need to win that game. I have guessed what sort of cards need to come up and they always come up, even if the opponent has 2 or 3 cards, they always get the right card. They say the blocking is random - it’s not, the AI again determines who it wants to win and blocks everything for them and nothing for the loser. All in all, another rubbish EA game

Good but they need to fix it. I actually quite enjoy this game, it has you gripped and you want to keep playing so for that I give a thumbs up There are a few ways they could fix small things up like putting how long left until the season ends. But the reason I’m only giving it a 2 is because it CRASHES EVERY SINGLE TIME I PLAY IT !! You get a bonus for consecutive wins, but then you lose your win streak because the game crashes and you lose stars, I would like to play the game more but EVERY TIME WITHOUT FAIL, THE GAME CRASHES, And I find myself rushing to beat someone not because I want to be quick but to try and win before the game crashes and forces me to lose So in conclusion The gameplay is really good, good idea for a game, a few small fixes would be nice but the main thing is fix the game so it doesn’t crash every 10 minutes !!!

EA has ruined yet another amazing game. I really like this game but the fact that now premium multipacks (aka. The one I was saving up for) cost real money that just ruined it for me... this game started of quite balanced but since this update happened it has gone extremely to the pay to win side and that pisses me off. If you can change this back to when it cost gems then I’ll be sure to rate this 5 stars... for now it’s a 1, I actually really like this game but because of your greed for money, you have ruined it for me

Best game ever!. I played many games but this is the bomb! So much fun all the time! I dislike all the reviews that say that it’s too hard too play! It’s a game! Great game. EA please help. I have been playing this game since it started but all of a sudden I can’t! Is there in issue with current updates and iOS updates? My iOS software is up to date, I have deleted and re installed the game. I have cleared browser history, checked my internet connection (it’s fine, great even) I have closed down background apps. Reset my connections. Tried with wifi and mobile data.... what’s going on??? The game just won’t load, it’s asking me to check my internet connection?? I can’t contact the site because I no longer have access to that email address. I have built up amazing decks, I don’t want to lose them!!!! Help!!!!

Great! but why?. Okay so let’s just say this, I LOVE PvZ heroes it is my favourite game and I wouldn’t change ANYTHING about it... Except they did something that really confused me that is getting rid of Friend Battles which I personally disliked because me and my friends would LOVE playing this game against each other so Please add back friend battles

Terrible match making. The game seems fun at first but the matchmaking is frustrating! From the beginning I got matched with people who have crazy powerful cards that the standard beginning deck hardly stands a chance against. It is probably designed like that to make u buy booster packs from the start. Personally I think it’s too frustrating will delete this app

Concerned fan. So, I have spent ridiculous amounts of money (well done Electronic Arts) and was able to get all the cards which is great but what ever happened to Huge Gigantacus? Never happened plus there hasn’t been any new cards for a while. The game does run smoothly and the match ups seem more fair now, before was ridiculous, and the daily events are fun, but please more new cards, new heroes and new environments. It’s getting a bit boring.

We all know this. Gameplay is alright but there’s quite a few salty hackers. There’s around a 30% chance you would lose due to “your connection being unstable” when you have perfectly fine internet. When you watch a video to earn free gems there’s also another chance to not receive your gems due to “another internet error”. Plus the fact that this game is pretty much pay to win until you have suitable cards for your deck pretty much makes this game overall terrible. Greedy game designed by greedy developers

Balancing and connection issues. First... when you lose connection from a match, you shouldn’t have to lose battle stars because something happens with your connection. Secondly, some of the zombie cards need debuffs, because with zombie tricks, the plants can’t set up their attacks and then the zombies can easily destroy the plants early on. That is, if they draw the wrong cards. The RNG is a bit unfair, because someone could get a lot of OP cards because they’ve been lucky enough to receive one from a card pack. But then there is also the people who get 5 uncommon cards and a rare card pretty much always. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the PVZ games... I have PVZ 1, 2, Heroes, Garden Warfare 1 & 2, but they all need a bit more balancing and less RNG elements. Thank You.

Game broke, lost all progress. Followed all of ea's troubleshooting steps, contacted their support section, got someone from India telling me the equivalent of 'have you tried turning it off and on again?'. They wouldn't let me restore progress based on an ID that the troubleshooting process made me write down. On top of this, the bug that caused the bug of me having lost all my progress (yes, a chain reaction of bugs, it's weird) has now made the game literally unplayable (not hyperbole, it's actually impossible) Note: reviews are based on user experience, and even if this doesn't reflect the majority of the games player base, it should still be reflected in the reviews as reviews show average user experience, not average majority user experience

Great game but needs software update. First and foremost this game is extremely enjoyable and can bring hours of fun, there are downsides such as not being able to see friends list, not being able to play music or podcast whilst using this app and having the account reset after gaining a large amount of progress hence the three star review. I really enjoy this game but it’s so buggy, if/when it is fixed this is a great time killer

Love this but.... So first off, I absolutely LOVE this game. It’s so addictive and fun, I can NOT stop playing. The only thing is, one day, I finished playing a battle, and I had completed one quest during the battle. I received 20 diamonds, and I realised, “Where are all my diamonds gone?” 2 days before, I had 900 something diamonds, I always save up to 1000 before I spend it on anything, then that day I had 325! I knew I hadn’t spent it on anything, as I would remember if I bought something, plus I had that rule of no buying until you have 1000 diamonds. I don’t know what happened but I’m pretty upset about that as I had worked for those diamonds and was going to get a new hero. Please fix if this is glitch or something.

Where to from here?. EDIT: Loving the new update, better in-game content made for much more engaging gameplay. Much happier! Keep up the good work Game needs more in-game content and different ways to play, it definitely gets repetitive. Also, what's with the card packs?!? Sometimes I get many cards from a pack and other times I get next to none. Should be the same amount of cards in every pack, it devalues the packs and really puts me off spending money. Great concept, just really let down by limited repetitive gameplay and poor rewards for completing tasks. I want to play but After 100 levels of plant/ zombie missions & reaching level 21 in multiplayer I really don't think there is any reason to keep playing. Really hope this isn't all there is for PVZ Galactic Heroes

Wow so good I think other people should have the bad thing once me and ai had so many that it said ai wins because it went on for 30 minutes and the thing that made it even worse is that the ai had one health left and I was press that button that takes away 2 health but then it said game over ai wins even though I had 10health but then it is fantastic I think Rotherham people should have it.

Been playing for years - please keep the development coming. I love everything about this game. Gameplay that is complex and stimulating yet easy to understand paired with simple and fun visuals. The game really needs a bit of tlc. Card health and damage numbers are often out of alignment and I find that my app crashes mid-game (can be really frustrating). A new set would be a godsend, or even some new event cards just to let the player base know that they haven’t been forgotten. I will never delete this game and will continue to enjoy playing it

Good buuuut.. The gameplay is overall great although the ranked matchmaking could use some adjustment as I could be going against someone way above me or way below me making it a very one sided battle. Game crashes constantly making winning very hard as I’m so close to winning and the game crashes so I have to start all over again. I’ve played the game for about a year and have collected a lot of cards (around 800) and is overall very enjoyable. It is most definitely pay to win but it isn’t hard to beat the game with no money spent all you need is a lot of time and a lot of patience. Great game for on the go enjoyment and I love playing it especially while waiting for something. Fix the crashes and the matchmaking and you have a excellent game.

Terrible game balance. I started this game years ago now. They had a great game mechanic to begin with but have added so many legendary cards that just spoil the game. I notice a lot of games going to 10+ rounds now, used to be done by 4-6. Why? Because power decks are just waiting for their preferred overpowered combo of cards. I have young kids. They like to play make believe about unstoppable monsters and weapons but you don’t base games around those ideas because they aren’t fun to play. I have to quit this again because it’s not competitive. You are better off gambling by rolling dice because there is an element of chance. If you like pay to win, go play Xbox. Halo is way better than this. LOL

Addictive game. I overall think this is a good game however I think that multipacks should be turned back into where you could use gems to buy them . Playing this for about 2 with some break I came to the conclusion that they should put more effort into making new cards cause after I took a 5 month break I saw that no new cards came out and it was the same as it was 5 months ago

New Content Needed. A couple weeks ago, I downloaded PvZ Heroes to see if there was new content, which there was none. Even though PvZ Heroes sold way less than PvZ 2, they still need to update the game more. Even just a few new cards each month would satisfy people. Me myself am not experienced in game coding and balancing, but they need to have more new content more frequently. Still a good game and worth playing.

Fun, but frustrating. It's a decently fun game, and the mechanics here are great, but the massive issue is with balancing. There are many plants and zombies that are just straight up unfun to fight against. Plants like the Astro-Vera, the great zucchini, Molekeke (I think that's how you spell it) and dandy-lion king are just absolutely crushing when played against, and I'm sure there are many zombie equivalents. If the balancing was better, I would definitely recommend this game much more than I currently do

Not recommended. Really cool game and concept the only problems are every part of the game is luck based heavily it ruins the experience. The creators also do a horrible job at balancing the cards in the game making some characters annoying to go against because they’re so powerful and they’ve stayed like that for a long time. The game also has a problem with the AI. When starting the ai have cards that go well with each other while you’re stuck with horrible cards giving you a big disadvantage, making the starting experience less enjoyable. The game only gets fun after you play it for a long time so you can get the good and fun cards or alternatively you can spend money on the game to get more cards making another issue of pay to win. If the devs really dedicated themselves to this game and it’s issues then it could become really great but until then I would not recommend getting it.

Strangely addictive game buuut.... The game is a strangely addicting game that get me hook the moment I won my first battle. The game is still active with players, is balanced well and is so satisfying to win. The daily event is the only reason I wake up in the morning and can play on the go as well. BUT the cards haven’t been updated in a long time and the game hasn’t been updated in 8 months. I starting to believe a doesn’t care for the game anymore. Some daily events are impossible now, hasn’t been changed in ages and I constantly crash just before I was going to win. Awesome, but I can’t run it anymore.. I have been playing for ages, however after I matched in a multiplayer game now the app won’t start. After the first screen appears, it sends me back to the dashboard without running. Any other attempt to try and run it again result in going back to the dash. I have an iPad with latest FW version.

Fix this bug please. It is fun but the thing I hate about this games are the npc bugs and game bugs So first of all when the opponent or my block meter is almost full and my opponent attacks me I don’t get a superpower and I didn’t block the attack Second thing is sometimes when the npc has no brains/sun left they just stay still doing nothing for like 30 seconds and I had to wait

Good game, needs new content. This is a truly amazing game that I’ve been playing for over a year, but the one issue I have with it is that there hasn’t been any new content in a long time. It’s been a while since the last major update and so far this year they’ve been recycling all the same event cards as last year. The game is great fun to play for 1 year or so but after that having all the same event cards to collect again gets old pretty quickly. The first two major expansions were amazing and I’m hoping there’s another one soon. Overall a great game that just requires a little new content to feel fresh again

Mind numbingly review. A Hearthstone styled card game instead of tower defense. AI is absolutely bipolar and will flip back and forth between mopping the floor with you and having 9 mana, 7 cards, and not playing anything. Due to the fact card packs are even harder to earn in this than Hearthstone (an incredible feat on the developers part) you end up seeing the same 6 or so characters in PvP with the same cookie cutter decks. Large amount of online players will just afk, wasting huge amounts of time with seemingly no penalty. I knew EA forced their developers to make awful games, but this is some next level stuff.

Not fair towards plants. The game makers seem really favoured towards the zombies and in every new update keep changing the zombie cards to be even stronger than they already are and making the plant cards weaker every time. It's getting to the point where it's kind of ridiculous to play as a plant because all the zombie cards are so much cheaper and stronger. The game makers really need to even the playing field more rather than making all the zombies so strong.

Great game but comes with a few issues. Plants vs Zombies Heroes is so fun. I love how many ways you can go about playing it. My single issues is that it will sometimes have major bugs. Right now it just says it can’t connect to the internet for me even though I have great internet and sometimes it won’t make it past the loading screen and will just load forever. Great game but PopCap needs to fix bugs faster.

Stuck on loading screen after update. I LOVE this game however, after the recent update I cannot open the game and it is stuck on the loading screen. Tried all options EA has suggested online and nothing! So upset. Please fix!!!!

Card rate cheating when you purchase.. The card packs for super rare is 30%. Purchase 10+1 total 66 cards should give you at least 19 super rare, but only 6? That’s only 10%!!

Sooo pay to win. This game has gotten to the point where it is my first time ever writing a review for a game. The developers or maybe even Ea has made legendary cards and rare cards impossible to get. They hand out such a small amount of gems from doing quests which are needed in order to get packs to get cards. The game is fun don’t get me wrong but it takes sooo much time to get gems so u can actually open packs and get cards unless u have 100s of $ to get gems. I honestly think if you play the game for a year you still won’t get anywhere. The zombies are incredibly strong and takes incredible skill to even play plants as the zombies get an extra turn and also have a gravestone feature. The developers or Ea may be just upgrading the zombies as a marketing strategy to make plant users angry and give in to “pay to win”. I play his every single day. Never grow tired.. Every game seems to have a different element to it. Kind of like euchre in that the rules stay the same but the games feel different and new. Love the daily challenges and online play. Best game ever.

Great, but it definitely has its flaws.. With more cards from the galactic gardens update and rarity, I've found it much more difficult to get at least one of every card, let alone 4 of each legendary. The block meters still add too much luck into the game. Either I lose by failing to block when I needed two or more segments (Or lose when my opponent gets two three charge segments in a row). Also, even though the whole point of event cards is that they're only around for a certain amount of time, it is difficult to get them after the event. It may not seem too bad, but there are some amazing cards like lily of the valley and Imposter that you now have to craft with tons of sparks (And that's only if you are planning to get one!) Lastly, The pack system is unfair. I bought a 10 pack and only got two super rares. Thats it. No legendaries or heroes which are way too hard to get. Time to use another week to attempt to get something worthwhile.

Amazing game, but…. I really enjoy this game, it’s a amazing game and all but… I spent the time to beat ALL 400 campaign levels thinking there would be a reward. Maybe a few packs, a new hero, or some gems BUT THERE WA NOTHING… it’s still a great game tho.

Fix your damn game. A few of the daily challenges are literally impossible because of the changes that were issued after they were designed, not to mention the animations that don’t work and the bugs with the UI.

This game is amazing. I love every aspect of this game; the card collecting, the deck building, the diversity of cards, etc. But I’d like there to be a report button. I just went against a solar flare in ranked that had a lot more than 4 reincarnations and there were no cards that conjured them, so all of his cards kept getting +1/1. I just thought it was really weird. But, nonetheless, and amazing game ☕️👌

The game took all my cards. I hadn’t played the game in a while so I decided to redownload it. It said reconnect to your account with 577 cards. I clicked that. It put me through the tutorial and then my account was brand new. I lost years of work sadly, I don’t think I can ever play again if I have to restart all over

Very fun to play game but need some fix. Game play and everything is very good and fun to play but there are some very annoying bugs that the game creators should fix like unable to play against friends after playing with them and having trouble inviting them to 1vs1 match. This game is fun. This game is fun but, I can't get past the loading screen after I bought something. I want my money back or fix it. Before that happened I was having so much fun... I love you PopCap. Your games are amazing hopefully you can fix this issue.

Rename the Game. It’s not Plants Vs Zombies Heroes It’s Pay to Wins vs Normal Players I did a test: my account that I have had for roughly 2-3 years vs my friend who has only played this game for 2 weeks. The difference is my friend spent roughly 50 dollars on in-game items. 22 games: he played with every hero once, I used the ones I had avaible. I won 5 games. Does that really make any sense? Winning 5 games out of 22? The original Plants vs Zombies was amazing. A card game would be great, emphasis on would. It’s just that the people who organize and run the company are such money hungry pigs that they need to put a price on success. They saw it was great and immediately went for the easy money maker: Card games. It’s honestly not a surprise why this game isn’t as popular as it’s original, because it everyone subconsciously recognizes how much of a disappointment of a company Popcap is becoming. And when they get criticized, they “fix” the rating to 5 stars. They’ve done it so much that their average rating doesn’t accurately represent the players. This game’s average isn’t a 4.6, it’s at maximum a 2.

Rigged. Ok, I actually found out this game is 100% rigged. It plans what card you get. For example, if your about to lose, and you need a plant to block the enemy person, 1, you’ll just get an environment, or if you do get a card with a person, the enemy will just get frenzy. No point in taking this game seriously, or trying to complete it. I honestly cannot trust the bots anymore WHAT SO EVER. They are also using bots to keep the game up. Just don’t believe the 5 star reviews that only talk about how good the game is. It’s obviously fake.

Game was great but now….. Before popcap abandoned this game, it was great. But now, with impossible puzzle party challenges due to them changing a cards stats without changing the puzzles, and when you watch ads to get gems only 1% of the time you actually get gems, etc. Its a good game but its not anywhere near what it used to be.

Good but a problem that bothers me.. I love this game it’s so fun and very creative on all the plants and zombies. I’ve been a fan of the franchise and decided to pop into this game after beating PvZ 2. The problem I have didn’t occur at the start of playing but more into when I had a few months into it. Whenever I was in a match either online or in the story mode every now and then the game crashes. Then I open the app again and it brings me to the start loading screen. This bothers me a ton! I’ll be in a match about to win when all of the sudden the game distorts and closes on me and ranking up becomes even bigger of a challenge. This is the only game/app on my phone that does this and it’s very strange and I hope it gets fixed. I use an IOS phone and hope there’s an update in the future that fixes this. Otherwise this is a fun game for those into the card collection strategy game.

One of my own ideas here, more when I think them up. I know nobody’s going to see this and the game has kind of been in a drought for new content so it won’t be added, but I have a couple things I’ve been thinking through, so I’ll put one here Giga gargantuar High strength and higher health legendary power card. I’m not sure if it would have other powers or just have high combat capability. Possibly even double digit health- it could take the cake above of among zombot 9000 and soul patch in the highest health bunch Also, balance issues: teleport isn’t legendary, not even super rare. Teleport should be a rare, super rare at most. Supernova gargantuar looks fantastic, but in practice isn’t actually that good in most scenarios (although it soars at the right times) it’s probably at the high end of being a super rare. It might be justified with a tiny stat boost up to 6 strength though, or a new power in addition to the extinction event-like factor. Force field is insane. I think it should either be legendary or, if you don’t want legendary environments (I say because none exist) then nerf it into the ground. I hope this helps, although I doubt it will. This is a great game and I want to see it flourish even more than it has already.

Good game to kill time. Can be addicting and fun. Block meter can be unfair at times. When multiple cards get a bonus attack at the same time each one individually fills the block meter but if it gets full it negates the rest of the damage from later cards. I put the rating at 2 now. The game is still fun but with the addition of a zombie I don’t recall the name it gets an attack equally to the number of brains they made that turn. It’s very easy to pump it up to over 20 and one shot kill with out giving the plants a chance to do anything. They need to change it to get an attack equal to the turn in the game not the number of brains they make. Which adds up fast with + 3 brain environment and the brain zombie giving an extra 3. I think I have died multiple times at round 4 because of this trick getting the zombie to over 20 and having a a trick to get a free attack to end the game. Only happens maybe 1-2 times out of 10 so not to bad for an impossible to win game.

This game is straight trash. The entire game is about busting packs. I’ve never seen a game try so hard to get me to absolutely hate the game and want to uninstall it like this. If you don’t love wasting your time & money on opening packs then do not even give this game a chance. It’s challenging to describe in words how awful this game is. I’m at a point in the game where the “boss” for the level is just flatout unbeatable and theres still 60% of those missions left do after that garbage boss. Whoever came up with the single player in this game needs to be slowly burned alive. Awful barely even accurately describes the game. Even if you waste a ton of money opening completely worthless cards pack your still going to have to play the exact same mission over and over and over and over again for a slight chance to win. In closing I’d rather have hard core dental work done in a sewer from some random bum then play this piece of flith game for one second longer. 0/10

I'm an old player of this game(even tho it's pretty young) and I have experienced so many changes in the game and I see that it got harder for new players to actually win, or harder to get cards and also the only one update that brought cards was the galactic garden, my question is when will set 3 and 4 come out, since some cards are already being inserted in the game, there is no an actual change in it, cuz you can not get this cards unless you play something to conjure it. When will us get more ways to get more gems than the ones we can actually get? I thought it was free to play, it's free to play to a point, if you don't put at least $20 on it forget it... please make it easier for players or at least new players to have access to important cards.

Something’s not right.... Ok.. So granted the game is pretty fun until you get to the higher lvls in the missions, at which point the computer is obviously cheating. This scenario has happened WAY too often for it to be a coincidence: I have the enemy hero down to 1 health. The enemy proceeds to fend me off turn after turn drawing and playing the exact cards they need to stop me and then win the game. I stopped playing the game a couple years ago because of the same exact thing. I only downloaded it again because my son really wanted to play it. Low and behold, this BS still continues... It’s not my decks, because PvP is extremely easy and I rank up with no problem using multiple decks with both plants and zombies. The mechanics of the game are just flawed. Even if the game is intended to be hard at higher missions, it is extremely frustrating for the difficulty to kick in only once i’m close to winning. It doesn’t make people want to spend money, it makes them want to delete the game, which is what i’m about to do. Games are supposed to be fun, not frustrating...

This game creates anger and frustration. Played this game for a long time, use to love it until the serious imbalances began multiplying. If you choose to be a zombie, you will be fine, but plants, you are up against multiple power stacking, ridiculous untrickable various zombies. All the reviews are true about the zombies being so overpowered, and they keep adding to it with zero nerfs in sight. The worst part about it is that the developers don’t listen to the complaints from SO many plant people. You are lucky if you ever even get a response from the team in the first place. They ignore player complaints and allow people to abuse each other in the forums. Forget going in a forum to get help or advice, you will be torn apart and insulted like you have never been before, if you try to vent or get help. And the developers do nothing about it. Great concept of a game, very poor management and quality control. Games are supposed to be fun, this one will make you seek therapy. Stay far away, especially if your child wants to play, not child friendly! Just deleted the app today and suggest others that are unhappy do the same.

Game mechanics are terrible. This is sort of enjoyable game until you realize the game mechanics are totally messed up and then it just makes you angry because you are not in control of anything without a full deck. I’ve had this app for a long time and I still don’t have even a single complete basic strategy deck. There are those 2 star and 3 star decks that I will probably never have the chance to play until I retire. I’m not going to take out of my retirement to buy the ridiculous amount of gems to complete one, so that’s that. It feels like the game is totally unfair. With missing cards and the missing abilities you are like forever noob. Let’s compare it to CR for example. In CR you get cards and their abilities even if they are at a low level. I have seen players successfully patch and manage a deck and have a viable strategy. Not in this game. With PVZ heroes and those incomplete decks most of the time you get these awful unplayable rotations. I have had so many matches, where my deck was doomed from the start, no matter what I played. You have a weekly opportunity to get a pack of cards with pretty low chance of legendaries. You get event cards but good luck building a deck around those. I wish the game would get a new CEO or someone that would take in a more modern path that would be viably competitive. If you’d like to hire me, I have ideas. For example - let’s hire a mathematician and stop being so greedy - let people build decent decks.

Fix This Al Game. Ok so this review is half because of Chris.B ‘s because i totally get his point. First of all, yes, I WAS stuck on World 11 on the plants missions for a few days because that’s when they basically have the AI bots throwing random cars at the last second to defeat you. Also, On Stage 2 World 11, IDK WHAT YOU DID WITH BRAIN FREEZE because he was practically impossible. It took me like 10 tries to beat him when I tried with multiple heroes like Wall Knight, Solar Flare, And Green Shadow (Basic Characters I think). And now I’m stuck at world 11 boss battle because the dam Z-Mech is throwing a bunch of sports and hearty zombies which are really hard classes. Also, This game has proof that these bots are meant to cheat, because I noticed every time you lose and battle them again, they put almost the same exact cards in the same order. Now Pop Cap is busted and they need to fix this Hacking scheme NOW. One more thing: Honestly I don’t know what you were thinking about paying for cards with gems. To fill some decks you need over 21,000 gems! WHAT?! I’m already at World 11 and I only have 330 gems, AND I HAVEN'T EVEN WASTED ANY YET! You should give some cards to fill the deck after you beat someone or an ai bot in battle. I’m not being greedy like asking for half the deck, maybe like 1 or 2 cards at LEAST. Please fix these ridiculous things about this game or I mind as well put this 2 stars.

Awesome Game pls add more Offline. I really love this game and play it everyday but the problem I have is that I am not always connected to WiFi. I love playing the random battles in the story mode for both sides plants and zombies but it takes a while trying to get the battle you want. It would be extremely awesome if you guys could add more things available to offline players like me so we can continue to progress while offline. My idea is if you guys can give us the option to choose what type of battle we can play or if we want to try out a deck from a character that we don’t have or if we haven’t unlocked all the cards from a certain deck, there would be a “try” button giving us a battle with a bot and trying the deck. Please consider one of these functions to add to the game thank you!!

Majority of players are hacking. This game could be great and I wish it was. I have been playing this for a long time now and until recently, I enjoyed it. There have always been the occasional cheater but in the past it was a very small minority. As of right now, depending on the time of day, I will encounter 10 cheaters in a row. This is completely unacceptable. Do a quick google search and you will find tons of links on how to cheat and what kinds of cheating hacks are available. You will also find that there are many other people who are also extremely frustrated with the amount of cheating and also the lack of response from the developers. Maybe they feel it is better to let some people cheat so other players will become frustrated and buy more packs? Well they apparently got lazy with the balance and now the game is overwhelmed with hackers. Too bad. I am just going to walk away and let the hackers play with hackers. I wonder how the developers will make any money when all their player base are hackers because players either quit or install the hacks as well.

Poor matchmaking, too much grind/RNG. Probably 70% of the time, I’m not exaggerating I actually kept track of it, I get someone who is 10+ ranks higher than me. Maybe once every 7 or 8 games I get someone close to my rank, and once every 15-20 games I get someone lower than me. The people who are higher rank than me almost never lose, they have a ton of super strong legendary stuff, meanwhile I barely have anything. Despite using 1000s of gems I still barely have anything good because this game is way too grindy and the progression is super RNG, it wouldn’t be such a problem if many super rare and legendary cards weren’t objectively better than other cards, and allow way more powerful strategies that you simply don’t have access to (or the stuff needed to counter them). I think winning any match should give gems (maybe like 5) and the game should try to rank people closer together. There’s no reason the rank 40 people should be going against rank 20s and not against each other

An alright game overall. I really like to idea of this game and I think it’s going the right way, but there is a major problem I have with it. I have been on and off with this game but every time I redownload it I see myself with this problem every time and that is I think it’s hard to get new heroes or villains. I find myself keeping the same ones all the time and eventually I just get bored and delete it. The game however as stated has an amazing design and I really like the play style and strategy that will be there sometimes. Another thing that I find wrong with it is the story line is fun at first but after you do all of it I don’t like how it repeats the same stories. This is mainly because they barely release new characters and that leaves it kind of bland, but overall this game in a 4 star for me.

Zombies too generic and require no strategy. The game is too boring. If you look at all the decks from the top players, you will notice they all use the exact same cards and strategies. The only way to win is to use generic boosting and card grouping. Deadly is a cheap tactic used to clear the board no matter what the plant side does, and gravestone is another unbalanced trick that undoes the game’s balance in turns. Bonus attacks are not only not fun, but can win the game in one turn, regardless of the plant side’s strategy. This is why they could cost 3 at least; because on the plant side, they only get to do 3 damage with the same amount of brains. Some ideas That could make the game more interesting are sacrifices, card reveal, poison, coin flips, choices(effect or damage), lane swap, directed damage, gravestone manipulation, mirrored damage. The plants are also too underpowered, so the only reason players use the zombie side is because it’s much easier to win without any effort. Not only that, but when the games last into the higher rounds the zombies almost always win due to overpowered legendaries. Please rework the zombie side and add effects to all types.

Update, please?. So, yeah. I know this game is produced by a big corporate conglomerate and my opinion means as much as a single blade of grass means to a bowling ball, but I need to say this: PLEASE UPDATE YOUR GAME. This game has not received an update in about 5 years. Think about that. Five years of the same old stuff, constantly. Do I think this game is dead? Sure, at this point. Do I want PvZH to return? Heck yeah. I like this game, it’s cool. It’s just incomplete. There are a million things you could do to continue this game. More cards, heroes, mechanics, and, if anyone from EA is reading this, more money. Hot take on EA; they’re not as bad as the memes say. You don’t need to pay for basic gameplay, but you guys have so many micro transactions that the whole game becomes a lootbox. Give us a few more updates, please. That’s all I ask.

Unbeatable daily challenge. I’ve played today’s challenge over and over again and I finally have came to the conclusion after my friends tried and have the same problem that there is no possible way that it is a beatable challenge. With Cyro being in a gravestone and the cards you have to use, there’s no possible plays to beat this particular challenge. Please respond and fix this because this is gonna keep me from getting card packs I really need right now as well as others who are playing the daily puzzle challenges. Because of this mistake, everyone is missing out on getting any new cards they’ve worked towards and should’ve received. I love the game and it’s the only one I play on a daily basis. Any response on this issue would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

A New Game With A Nostalgia Feel. I Love the plants vs zombies games, heck I have all the console games and the mobile games, as a kid I’d play PvZ all the time. A friend introduced me to this game and I gotta say I was very impressed the graphics are great, it’s keeps a good balance between challenge and fun, and overall it is really great. So I’ve played it for like a year and I finally completed the zombies missions (There is 200 in total) and I was kinda disappointed to see that you don’t get anything for it. I would make it a five star review but it has its issues, first off 200 missions with no reward, the rng is in the CPU’s favour, but most of all is that some cards don’t work like they are suppose to, keep in a mind it’s only a few but it still can be a pain, so for example if you have the kitchen sink zombie in play and try to give it an extra boost (Deadly, Strikethrough, etc.) and it doesn’t work but over all great game recommend it.

Game is good but there is a bug that makes you unable to play with friends. The game itself is really great, but it didn’t let me report a bug on the website so I’m going to have to use this. There’s a bug where it always says your friends are away and you can’t play with them. I was in a call with my friend and when we tried to vs, it didn’t give us the option to. We tried everything. We closed and opened the app, we uninstalled and reinstalled, and we even updated are iOS to the newest version to see if it fixed it, but none of that worked. This had happened before, but closing and opening the app fixed it. It was the day the new season started when this happened. It worked perfectly before. We even did a vs on the same day. But after the new season, this started happening. I really hope this gets fixed as it just completely removes an entire feature of the game.

An Annoying Little Bug. I’ve been playing PvZ Heroes for about a a year and half now and it’s been great. The humor in characters and card descriptions makes me snicker from time to time. Since the beginning though, I’ve encountered two bugs. The first is sometimes when you get above 100 gems and go to buy a pack, the game thinks you don’t have enough. This is easily fixable, as you can just reopen the game. Now, here’s my pet peeve, the annoying little bug, the thing that bums me out. Sometimes when in a match, bot or player, the game glitches and boots you out. You can reopen the game, but you’ve already left the match. This is pretty exhausting when you’re online and about to win. I believe it’s caused by some sort of audio error as the audio glitches right before it kicks you out. All in all though, it’s a charming game with some pretty clever design.

Multiplayer Rank Balancing. Awesome Game, But in Multiplayer, The Ranks should determine your opponents level (your rank about the same as opponents rank) In fact, sometimes i go against bronze league (5-7) And I’m in rank 3. The ranks kinda determine your opponents toughness Some might even be too easy; when you’re in a high rank. You could even fight against 4, and 5 ranks when you’re in a 10 rank. So please balance the opponents’ ranks, Makes my multiplayer progress so much better, so I can’t get stuck on Rank 3. By the way I wrote 5 stars anyway Also, There are issues for what #Mission am I on in Single-Player Zombies: 12- MiniGolf Stand-off Wall-Knight should have only 1 Soul Patch, not two (rather concede on turn 7 when he plays it] Plants:Mission 11 (forgot the name) Z-Mech should have a disadvantage (could be that he only has two blocks) Or I just have a little advantage (like I start with +1 card) Otherwise 30 Hp + Zombie +1 health would concede me to death) Basically, The Multi-Attack blocked glitch would be because the attack phase in that lane is still going, So all the damage would be blocked for that person (It’s just it’s in the same lane, All that damage would be blocked) This extra text is for one of the reviews someone made.

NOTICE ME. Alright I have to say that this game is AWESOME. The game play just blows me away. But it also is kind of sad to see all this effort and potential go to waste. I love it all but let me tell you right now, it NEEDS an update. One, the graphics. The graphics are great and all but show a little more effort than just copying all the zombies and gargs and imps and all and pasting them onto new ones. Two, the cards. Alright, maybe some of you enjoy this but the chances of getting legendaries and super rares need to be lowered. Getting heroes should be 1percent, legendaries 3percent, super rares, 10 percent. 3, the player vrs player. I personally admire the strategy and ethics of pvp but it needs to be updated. By this I mean, having different modes maybe like duo vrs duo or whatever. It just gets kind of boring. That’s all I have for you, EA, and popcap. Please consider these suggestions. PS um I have a problem with the friends thing in pvp. For some reason I can’t find the option to do so. So umm ya spread the word

Many a problems. I really like the different take on plants vs zombies. It’s fun, entertaining, and challenging. Too challenging. Upon being presented with a new hero, I picked spudo, because he looked cool. Little did I know that he has the WORST deck that I have ever seen. Apparently his deck is based on defense, and while I can agree, it’s not much of a defense deck. Especially since a bunch of the cards are 1-1. This is just a bad decision because considering the zombies are over powered and there is a zombie trick card that does 7 damage. The only good card in spudo’s deck is zapricot with 4-5. But I can’t even use that card, because immediately after I play it, It gets destroyed. Trying to win ONE battle with spudo should not be this hard. How can you expect me to improve my deck, if I start with bad cards and can’t win a single fight? Being able to pick a new deck should be an improvement, but I’m still playing with the green shadow deck, because it has good offense. Anyways, that’s it.

Pay to Play. I love this game, I played it a lot when it first came out and I’ve recently come back to it. The only issue I find, besides it being a long time since the last expansion, is how expensive it is. This game has the same problem as hearthstone minus the community that makes the issue probable. Unlike hearthstones die hard massive community of whales. Having a community like that doesn’t make it okay though, for free to play players like us we can’t enjoy the full strategic scope of the game. Look at a game like legends of runeterra and you can see that a free to play friendly card game is not only possible but works really well at getting players to stay, unlike PvZ heroes. Other than the fact that I can build 90% of the decks I want to play without either grinding a few months or destroying my wallet it’s a great game with really fun mechanics.

This game is annoying. So I have had this game for a good month and its works and stuff but it frustrates me whenever I play it cause I’ll be playing the single player stuff and the Ai always finds a way to mess me up last minute so I always lose most of the time and when I play multiplayer it’s unbelievable how much this game is pay to win I go into multiplayer and I’m level one and the guy is level one too and we start playing and he pulls out legendary stuff left and right I have to concede so many times and this makes me not want to play I love the multiplayer but pls put some sort of match making stuff in it cause new players will not be able to play at all and the lack of new cards makes me sad cause whenever you play a game you always look forward to what’s new and stuff they haven’t added anything for a year or so like this game is not the best and not the worst pls fix yr game so it’s at least playable for new people

Why this update. I used to play this game so so so much that sometimes I wanted to drop homework for it but then this update where if your under 13 and you can’t play multiplayer is extremely bad I panicked because I thought it glitches and I just got to gold league but then my sister still had multiplayer! So I was sad because I played so much with my sis but now we can’t play but the multiplayer is far worse because I was saving for professor brainstorm and then I won’t get my rewards for this season and popcap a lot of people are under 13 who play this and a lot of people were a good person and didn’t fake age so this is a bad update I don’t wanna erase it and download again because I had such good progress so please change it back! I cried so much because I love all your games that are PvZ ( since I never played the others) so please popcap listen to the community

Unbalanced, Constant Crashes. First off, this game is very fun, despite some balance issues. I feel like the zombies have far too many options to wipe the plants’ boards, especially with the Deadly effect and their trick cards. It would be much better if the plants were given more counterplay options against this rather than simply nerfing the zombies, though. Both sides should be able to have fun, after all. My other issue is that the game has is that every so often, it crashes out of the blue - both in and out of matches. It tends to happen at least once per session, and has occured 2-3 times for me today alone. I feel that this is a bit disappointing for a game from a series as good as PvZ, and hope it can get patched in the near future. If the crashing bug alone were fixed, I would undoubtably bump my rating of the game up to a 4. If more balance patches are released in the future on top of that, it might even be a 5 for me. I hope this review helps out!

Suggestions for F2P community. I personally consider this game one of my favourites in the App Store, however, there are a few issue of which I think would make the game more friendly for us F2P players. As many know, and this is not to be harsh or anything, but this game relies ALOT on how much you pay, so maybe shortening the quest waiting time would help the community and get them to play more. Maybe give a bigger percentage of a recycle back as well, since the recycling system only really works out with certain situations. Ads are really helpful as-well, so I personally love that mechanic. Not sure if it needs adjustments or not, but I think it’s fine. In short, we’ll need something allowing us to grind and earn more things without having to wait for long durations of time or recycle a large amount of cards. These are just some suggestions, and it’s probably not going to be added, but if you want to then yeaaa

Great Game. This is a very entertaining game, by far my favorite one in the plants vs zombies series. The graphics are on point and the game mechanics are awesome. The only, and I mean only, thing bad about this game are the multiplayer match ups. When you buy this game you need to be ready to spend some money on it. I’ve been beaten numerous time by people with multiple legendary cards. Now, i’m in diamond league, (a higher skill capped multiplayer league) so that could have an effect on it, but it can be annoying getting destroyed by legendary cards. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve seen a few good free to play decks, but that doesn’t compare to the amount of pay to win decks i’ve seen. I don’t have any good idea to fix this problem, so I understand how it could be impossible to fix this. Anyway, overall this is a very good game and to be a free to play player, it just takes some more commitment.

It's really fun! But it crashes too often. The gameplay is so much fun, the cards are unique and fun to use, and online is good challenge. I can always find someone online in less than 30 seconds. The rate at which gems are acquired feels just right, I just wish you could unlock heroes more often. One problem I have encountered is the game crashes on me almost daily. This wasn't too bad when I was fighting AI in the campaign levels, but once I got online and started doing sneak peak missions and such, it was infuriating to be one move away from victory for the game to freeze and automatically close. Maybe it's just my phone (I have a 5C) but it's really annoying and one crash can make me want to stop playing for hours on end. The gameplay is fun and challenging (in a good way) and the puzzle aspects of it are incredibly fun and unique, but if you can, bringing down the chances of these crashes would make the gameplay more reliably fun.

Pretty Much Pay-2-win. As a new player, the tutorial can be nice on you, but then they just drop you off to leave you with either doing the unfair Plant or Zombie quests, or you are playing Multiplayer. Even though it has a active player base, you can go against someone that is rank 33 while your just a rank 9 newbie that just gets bullied. This game also have Micro-transactions littered all over the place like “” for 4.99, you could get 200 gems!” only to then realize that you could only buy 2 packs that give you a worth of 12 cards. Speaking of cards, gems can be really hard to get and then once you grinded up, you get 6 cards that are mostly uncommon or rare. I also want to point out that some of the cards are just game-breaking or unfair to players. Like there’s one card that turns all your zombies into 1 cost zombies that leave you hanging with nothing but a loss.

Decent, but stilted. I have been playing PvZ since the original came out nearly a decade ago. I love the weird world Popcap has built, especially with Garden Warfare. I wish this game lived up to that precedent. For one, I have a brand new iPad 7th gen, v. 13.3.1 and the game crashes at least once every 30 minutes. For two, it’s one of the least generous card battler games around (I’ve also been playing MTG for over 6 years, and I’ve tried many others, so I’m credible on that claim). I do like the asymmetrical abilities and strategies, but as many reviewers have pointed out, the CPU enemies receive an unfair advantage. Lastly, this game falls into the same trap as Hearthstone does, where stacking your deck with as many legendaries as possible will always beat any tribal or neat combo strategy. It ruins the meta and gives those who have been playing the longest an additional unfair advantage. I guess my real complaint is that the game is not friendly to newcomers, nor to those who don’t play religiously.

Still pay to win?. I played this game when it first came out, and it was fun in the beginning. Getting different cards and actually being able to win games. Even after the past 2-3 years I come back and what do I find? That almost nothing has been changed, Zombies are still overpowered, and packs are still ridiculously hard to get. 100 gems for a pack, you only get 15 gems and under for completing the daily challenges? How is this even allowed? It’s so disappointing to see what could be a good card game just go down the route of pay to win. I tried playing my 55th level from the plants side and after 6 tries I cannot beat it, I get either close to winning and then the CPU just starts buffing his cards to like 8 damage and I lose. OR the plants I have are weak and still cost 2 sun at the beginning of the round so I can’t place any, and then the CPU just starts placing cards that can do 4 damage right off the bat. I would love this game if it were balanced

One of the best mobile games however…. PvZ hero’s has gotta be on the top 10 of best/ underrated mobile games of all time. Take it from a person who can’t exert their eyes away from their phone. The game is strategy based with very few flaws, take for example play against CPU, the games I play against the CPU (aka level matches) feel a bit rigged. The game is not totally pay to win but I does give you a decent head start. That’s pretty much it, playing online is great and the cards/plants and zombies are really unique. I really hope this game continues to receive support from the devs and doesn’t die completely because now in 2022 almost 23, the games popularity is starting to descend. Can’t wait to see the future of this company and what they can bring for a mobile game!

Good, however.... Don’t get me wrong, I’ll play this game forever. However, few things need improvement or just a bigger update. First of all, the energy costs for plants. If I recycle a plant or zombie, it should be close to the crafting cost. Also, plants like Buff-Shroom shouldn’t have their own attack affected all the time as well. Also, I was thinking that you should add in Dazey Chain. It should be a legendary kabloom class with 4,3 and an effect of all it gaining 1 attack until it has three bloomed flowers. Then, when it reaches full, make one zombie not able to attack for the turn. Finally, I think you should add in a zombie ability, Hunger, which adds one brain to their brains for the next turn. Constant crashing, and I’m fed up with it. I know, everyone else has talked about this before but this something. That needs to be addressed. It doesn’t just crash during the home screen or other screens relating to it, it mainly crashes in the middle of multiplayer games (especially ranked) and on fed up with this. I’d probably be in ultimate league if I didn't crash 3/5 of the matches I play, it’s not only a problem that affects the ranks, but it also makes ranked matches unfair as people who have the worst decks, no skill, and no idea of how to even play the game can get carried to gold or even diamond off of people who crash and will get the rewards they didn't rightfully deserve. It always angers me whenever I’m in a match on my way to ultimate league sweeping past players of varied skill levels until I pass up upon a bronze or silver player who doesn’t know what cards do win the game because I crashed in the middle of nowhere. Its been years and this is still a problem, popcap, maybe stop working on PVZ3 for 2 seconds and come back to heroes to fix the game.

The best mobile game EVER. This has to be the best game of all of time EVER. It’s really the only game I play on my iPod and it’s so much fun. I really like the new style of playing a pvz game, it’s very creative!!! The only thing I would suggest is making easier to level up in the gold league. To me, it’s difficult if you only gain two stars if you win two games in a row or more and losing one star after every loss. Even though I’ve had this game for almost a year and need three more heroes (besides beta carrotina and huge giganticus) and 24 legendary cards, I still find it hard to level up in the gold league. Aside from that, it’s the best. Game. EVER. P.S. Are you guys gna eventually let us buy beta carrotina and huge giganticus for 750 gems instead of occasionally bringing back the packs? I would really like to get them someday

BEST GAME EVER!but.... Ok I must say this is my favorite game, and I love the daily challenges. (Like the one where all of your cards were eurekas) but I wish there were MORE heros. For example, MAKE A BEAN HERO. The bean hero is a great idea and me and my brother have come up with ideas. For example, his name will be Bean-mander and he Is in smarty and mega grow class. His four cards are: when played, all beans in your deck get +1 +1, when a plant is played here, make a random bean, and it gets team up. When a zombie hurts a bean, give that bean +2 +2, and his super power: make a bean that costs 6 suns or more, then conjure a bean. This is something that I feel like this game should have, and if you do want to make more heros, go ahead, but PLEASE make those cards and that bean hero. And also sometimes my game doesn’t load and it’s stuck in the ‘popcap’ page with comics. PUH-LEASE FIX THIS!! I will probably miss the family challenge!

Please review. Some of the cards are overpowered and when played in conjunction there is no way to defeat the opponent. It kinda takes strategy out because you basically the high rank players buy a formula of cards that work in tandem and then it’s game over. For example the 3/5 zombie card that allows you to conjure a treat when a trick is played. When used with a super hero power that draws cards. Then the person will put a plus health on that zombie and draw tons of cards usually in order to play the 6/6 zombie that does a bonus attack and costs ten but less one every time a trick is played. I have been defeated by this formula multiple times by the highly ranked players that have found this formula and play it and it’s almost impossible to beat. So I’m conclusion I think some of the cards are over powered and it makes the game unwinnable and thus not fun once you get to play the high ranked players.

Great but needs fixes. I absolutely love this game is so much fun to play. But the free diamonds that you can get each day by watching a video consistently messes up it makes me watch the video but continually says “oops there is a problem please try again” so I try again later and it still doesn’t work this happens on a daily basis. Also just a side note it would be nice if it was easier to obtain Sparks and not be so stingy with getting diamonds but that’s just my opinion. Also is annoying to keep buying packs and to only receive the exact same zombies or plants each time, but this is just my opinion on how it could improve player satisfaction. The first problem I addressed however makes me want to discontinue playing the game. I hope both of these things can be fixed, is an awesome game like I said but it just would be nice if they were fixed and wasn’t so stingy on the diamonds and Sparks. Would get five stars if they fix these things.

Extremely good game, but with some flaws. Game is extremely pay to win, so getting a lot of cards to do the main part of a card game: strategy; you have to grind extremely hard to get them, or you could just pay money. Leveling up is very slow, but is the most efficient way to get gems. 100 gems grant you a pack, and in the league I’m in, it take about 30 minutes to level up, and when you level up, you only get 35 gems. Plus, when you do eventually open a pack (which takes about 2 days unless you have 0 other things to do that day), you’ll probably just card crappy cards anyways. Also, this game (unfortunately) stoped getting updates, so it’s very dead. Despite everything I just said, this game has a of care and thought put into it, and could be one of the best games ever made if it weren’t for the grindyness.

The greatest card game ever conceived. The brilliant asymmetrical gameplay removes all needs for “who-goes-first” buffs/nerfs that other card games have, the almost board game like way you play the cards creates a game where how you play the cards is equally important to how you build your decks. If you love deck building, this game is right up your alley, if you couldn’t care less about deck building, the way the game plays in such an interesting way, I still think you might really enjoy this game. The micro-transactions in this game don’t feel like a crime against gaming, you have so many options around it that feel fun instead of grind-y. Beating a Pay-to-Win player with hard work feels amazing, and similarly if you do pay, you get super interesting options that are also extremely fun TL;DR - this is the best card game with none of the pitfalls of typical card games

Great game. I have to say I have loved the PvZ series for a year and I am still happy and loving this app and I am so glad that they have made this new app and to be honest you have to try this if you have not and the purchase are so cheap and the cards are great plus I think this is a good game but I have fond a lot of glitches inside the game and I will say what they are so the first thing I saw was that my block meter was not letting me get a superpower and that was just bull and it was also frustrating so much and the event cards take forever to get and I think that popcap needs to change the overpowered cards to less overpowered cards and I also think they need to give more pet and science cards to the game and well that’s about it really but otherwise it is a great game lolllllllllll ok but for real great game popcap oh and can you guys also make a garden warfare 3 game so keep up the good work guys and gals at popcap

What happened to this game. This would be a 2.5 but this doesn’t deserve to round up. This game with the first group of cards, was fun: not too many cards, and none super broken or hard to get. Just a little luck. Now with THREE CARD SERIES and the cheapest way to buy packs is over $30! This game is pay to win. There’s so many broken cards and stuff that you have to pay for. Ranked matches are dumb. The people you play against are almost always better than you, unless you PAY $50 RIGHT NOW to have a CHANCE of getting something good. EA definitely ruined popcap. It’s not worth it to play this game, you have some fun for a while with the missions that haven’t been changed in TWO YEARS and play casually against bots with a ridiculous advantage you need to PAY to beat. Don’t get this. It’s no where NEAR worth it.

Worst Unbalanced Game Ever. This game is extremely unbalanced. I have played this game for over 4 years and its anti plant and has the worse programming errors ever. Ranked matches are random and a lvl 1 ends up playing lvls 40 times higher. Also the block meter is bull. it has no pattern of how many hits will block and sometimes enemies can hit you 6 -7 times meanwhile you attack 3 times and they block you. I have broken a iphone due to raging. Also the win ratio for plants is horrible. You win 1 out if 12 games if your lucky. And they expect you to win 5 times in a row to move up a level. This game is so bad in program bias. You can tell when it pushes you up through the ranks due to the non stop win streaks that are only due to cheating the players out of a honest card game. The company should be ashamed at this piece of junk game. Dont spend money or time. This game should be examined by apple to review bias programing and odds that occur. Please trust me. Dont play

The best game I’ve ever played.. I absolutely LOVE this game! I loved the very first Zombies too, but this is definitely a different style of game. So many options so many different heroes to play. It’s ever changing depending on which heroes you play or play against, and which cards pop out of your deck during a round. You can play against others, or just against the heros in the game. The options are endless. I don’t play with other players, partly because I have grandchildren around sometimes and I don’t want to keep other players waiting if something interrupts me, as it does often, and partly because I like that I have all the time I need to read the cards and think about what to play. There are daily matches for the weekly challenge that are preset decks and match situations for you to overcome and such. Even if I don’t play every day and actually complete the weekly challenge of winning a card, I just plain enjoy those various challenges. I could go on, but I think you get the point. Excellent game! The only thing I hate is that it crashes on a fairly regular basis. I delete and re-download, and it might be better for a few days, then it picks up again. I’ve seen a lot of people have this issue, but there hasn’t been any update to fix it. This keeps me from playing online with other players. If they would fix that, it would be perfect.

POP CAP, PLEASE READ THIS.. Hello pop cap, and EA Company. I would like to Address the situation about the game. It’s dead, I would really like you to think about this. Would you want a game that you invested loads of valuable money go into the gutter, I don’t. I love the game and everything you did with but the lack of community and cards is really making this game stale. You do have a reputation for working on a game, dropping it. And working to the next. PVZ heroes or any card game can’t be abandoned like that, they grow boring and old without new cards levels, classes heroes and more. I love the unique quirky features and the strategy in the mix. I know recently popcap are kind of redeveloping there art directors and workers at the company. And your really are working to tweek and make the battle for neighborville community happy. It’s fine if you can’t do it in a couple of months. Just hopefully do it before the stone starts cracking. Take care,

Good, but P2W. I think PvZ heroes is good, but there’s a slight problem, it’s really hard to get rare thing due to drop rates. This is where the game gets boring and frustrating. So many people have been restoring to Paying To Win at this game it’s breaking my heart. I think there are less play for free than pay to win. Not to include that it’s really hard to get diamonds cuz quests come in 2-3 HOURS, also do I HAVE to mention if you delete and reinstall your ACCOUNT gets deleted? Then you have to restart all over again, and if you paid to win, well, good luck cuz EA not giving you your money back. Nonetheless, it’s a great game, in future updates(if it does) I hope they make quests come in faster and make plant hero quests not so hard. Greatest card game of all time. I’ve played this game for many years now and put countless hours on it. I love the strategy involved and setting up different decks and trying them out is an addiction. The visuals and animations make this game very special to me. Not to mention each plant and zombie have their own cries, roars, yelps, moans, squeaks. Just the amount of detail and love put into each card really draws me in. I’m writing this review, because I want popcap to know from a loyal PVZ fan that you guys make really great games even the ones on console. But picking this game up after taking a break for while I remembered how many updates kept coming back to back and looking forward to them. I really miss it and wish we could see this game keep moving forward. Thank you for keeping me entertained with an awesome game.

Addicted. So this review may be a bit biased, but I simply love this game. I would need to say a word of caution to anybody thinking of downloading this game now, it will be very hard to play online because you simply will not have enough cards to face off against veterans such as myself. This is not a flaw of this game specifically, more so of any collectible card game. That aside, this game is wonderfully simple to play yet challengingly difficult at the same time. I love learning how each card can work with one another to create wonderful combos, or how each hero has their own unique play style. If you think you have enough dedication to get through the difficulties of not having enough good cards, I would recommend this game to you, or really anybody who is looking for a game to play one or two quick rounds.
