Using your Bible app. I find using the app helpful in getting to scripture faster than actually using a physical Bible, but I haven’t quite mastered the ability to bring up the search magnifying glass easily to look up another scripture after the scripture I just looked up. I end up doing a lot of finger gymnastics in an attempt to bring up the search feature. I just don’t know how it actually works and sometimes it takes me quite a while before I somehow finally manage to get it to show up for me. It’s very frustrating for this older person who is not very technically inclined.

Highlight issue.. I love this app. Thank you for fixing the bug, with highlights. It was such a quick response. Thank you all for being on top of everything. God bless you all at support. I feel like I can now personalize my Bible app. What more is there to say? I’m well please with the app. Worth every penny, and some. Thank you, and God bless all those that reads this. I hope upon reading this, you will be moved to purchase just like I did. That’s the real blessing. You are not just purchasing an app. You are investing in yourself, while donating to a cause. Very nice app but…. I really enjoy this app. It has a lot of useful tools packed inside. However, I frequently run into a glitch where the app freezes and when it comes back, the text is now in Revelation. This has been especially frustrating while using the app during church. Another nice feature too add in a future version would be a verse selector rather than just the chapter selector and having to scroll to the verse I am looking for.

Scott T. The study Bible is it an incredible tool for studying my Bible throughout the day on my I phone. It’s amazing how many opportunities I have throughout the day with a few minutes here and there to look at my transforming book, the Bible . The small extra price for the MacArthur notes is well worth the price. As I have heard John MacArthur say the scripture it’s not really the scripture unless it’s accurately understood. John MacArthur’s Biblical understanding of the Scriptures is probably the greatest in the history of the church. The audio Bible allows my wife and I to hear the Bible together without wearing out our Aging voices and is pleasant to listen to. Over- all The Study Bible is the greatest tool I’ve ever had to help me look at Christ in the Scriptures and be actively involved in the process of being transformed into His same image from one level of glory to the next.

The app is good. My problem is it some how was taken off my phone and i put it back on my iPhone will i also have it on my iPad I went into it because my email has changed well it will not let me change it or the password so i can put it back on my phone let tell you something I'm not buying it again it wrong to make something you can not change your email or your password in the first place it was bought off of the App Store what wrong with this picture it's like your scared someone going to steal the Lord word all I know I used this app and can't now that thank you for to much security on a Bible!!!

Love the app, but…. I like this Bible app because I can highlight in different colors, make notes, and it is easy to read. I have had it for a while now. Lately, however, the app has been freezing in which I can’t even scroll up and down for a few seconds. Then when the app unfreezes, it goes to Revelation 22 out of nowhere. Luckily when this happens, I have learned to keep track of where I’m reading so I can go back to where I was before it defaulted to Revelation 22. Also, when I do highlight, some of the highlights disappear. For example, if I want to highlight a verse in a chapter, I can’t highlight another verse in the same chapter. It’s as if I am only allowed to highlight 1 verse per chapter, whereas before I could highlight more than 1 verse in the same chapter. Can these bugs get fixed please?

Glitchy. I noticed that when I open the app and scroll down, it will randomly move back up to whatever verse it was on when I started the app. It makes me lose my place. It does this three times, and I just learned to let it get its glitches out of its system before I can actually use it. This takes like 30 seconds and then I can scroll normally. But it's very inconvenient. Also, I can't always highlight verses. I click highlight and it just doesn't. If these issues ever get fixed, I would say this is an awesome app. The way to look up study notes is great and easy to use.

Study Bible. UPDATE: When opening the footnotes, if you in the last few verses of the chapter, when finished to go back to the Bible, it always defaults back to verse 1 then you have to scroll back to the verses you were reading. Pleasant fix this and the continuous scroll as below. Thank you While the Bible is being narrated, it would be nice if the section that was being read was highlighted and the narrator’s reading was continuous scroll. I like to make notes as it’s being read and I loose my place. I know I could pause, but don’t always have to.

An Awesome Blessing!!!. This Bible Study App is by far the best resource I have seen! John MacArthur explains the meaning of passages here, which is personally what I was so desiring to understand! Additionally, he has included with the defined passages, related resources including: Sermons (available in audio, video, and/or article format), Articles, Blog, Q&A!! As well, there are 3 choices of Bible Versions available (ESV, NASB, KJV). FYI: if you need explanation of which version to use, there is a article by John MacArthur explaining about the different Bible Versions; the article is called “What Bible translation is best?”. He simply gives the “facts”, rather than his “opinion”, behind each version. Another wonderful resource is the “Grace to You” App! I personally so enjoy John MacArthur’s teaching style. By going verse by verse, he teaches the facts which I believe allows the Holy Spirit to work in individuals hearts how only God knows them!! As well as being thankful to God, I am grateful to you, Pastor John MacArthur, for all the resources you have made available!!! Sincerely, Mrs. S. Apicella

Great Job, GTY Team!. I am thoroughly impressed with this Bible app. There are plenty of Bible apps out there for the casual reader but this one makes a slam dunk for the student of the Bible. The first clue was the 3 translations offered, ESV, ASV, and NKJV. Many will find this limiting as they will probably desire more of a functional translation (like NIV or NLT) but a serious reader will know better and lean towards a formal translation like the 3 mentioned above. The John MacArthur Study Notes add-on was a no-brainer. I have never before been so quick to purchase an add on within an app. At that price, it’s a steal and worth so much more. The amount of content available will send you down a rabbit hole of almost endless study- notes, sermons, articles galore! Customizing the app for optimal reading is also very important to me and I quickly enlarged the text, changed the font, and opted for dark mode. I appreciate the freedom to customize my digital Bible. Another great feature is the digital bookmark. I use a reading plan that has me in two to three places at a time so I got excited to see how easy it was to mark my spot and jump around. I have not had that before in a digital Bible. Great job, GTY team! This is a fine accomplishment!

Grace To You is an amazing Source Of The Word. I can’t say enough amazing things about this app and the grace to you app I also want to let anyone who uses this app to know that they can download the grace to you app and you can get sent a plethora of free books written by Dr. John MacArthur including his study Bible which is priceless in the Factive being able to explain the word of God and away that everyone can understand God is truly alive and speaks through this incredible Man and I just want to thank our Lord and Savior for picking such a God fearing and loving individual to draw each and everyone of us closer two Jesus!!!

Amazing app! A must have!!. I love this application sooooo very much! I am truly, truly thankful for the expositional preaching by my favorite modern-day hero of the faith, Dr. John Macarthur ! I’m also so very thankful for his wife, his ministry, and for every person who made it possible for his teachings to reach someone like me who was once further from God that anyone I’ve ever met! Most importany, I am ever-so grateful for the work of God in the life of JMac, to empower him by the will of the Holy Spirit, to make his life so useful in growing towards our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! This app is a MUST have ! and the BEST part of it is that you can take your Bible with you along with ALL of Dr. John MacArthur’s commentaries with you! Grace to You Bible App. Excellent study bible app, user friendly, too much substance I cannot miss a single day not reading God’s word, it’s exposition and application. I thank God because we have John MacArthur in our generation. His gift of unleashing God’s Word verse by verse, the truth each contains is life changing and me my family are forever grateful. I can’t wait to share my daily devotions to the 1st person I meet everyday be it at my workplace, at the store, on the phone, in my email or wherever. Great Content, Difficult Design. It is wonderful to have the great content and notes from one of the best study bibles out there. The app design is very frustrating though and could use a good update. 1) It is almost impossible to press the tiny back arrow in the top left that should get you out of the notes and back to the text. Shutting down the app and restarting is the only way most times. A larger button that actually works would be great. 2) Going into the study notes shuts off any audio you were listening to for some reason (classical music is my favorite when reading). Why does this happen? Seems like a bug that needs fixing. I offer these as easy and much needed improvements while remaining thankful for the ability to have this content on my phone, even though it’s unnecessarily hard to use. It’s still worth it for me. Thanks!

I so wanted to give 5 stars. I so wanted to give 5 stars but the constant need to scroll up and down to find the chapter you need is ridiculous. I much prefer how Olive Tree puts only one chapter on a page and makes you scroll to the right or left to get to another chapter. Also, it would be a welcomed addition if you could choose what verse you want to go to instead of just the chapter. I still use this Bible as I love everything else about it, but still... It doesn’t get updated much and hasn’t been in 5 months. Not that it needs to be updated all the time, but software evolves (Scripture doesn’t) and this needs to keep up or people are going to look elsewhere.

Great Wisdom and Truth. Gravy To You, Grace Church and Pastor John MacArthur have provided a great resource that encourages me and has helped me draw closer to Christ our Lord. This Study Bible app is full of God’s Truth and Wisdom that helps me Worship God The Father because of Christ’s Sacrifice through the Holy Spirit. The only thing I would suggest the creators of this app is if possible please allow the ability to highlight individual words instead of highlighting only a sentence. This app is built, programmed to work very well and has helped me understand God’s word because of MacArthur’s commentaries and sermons that are built into the paid version. Thank You!!

Needs updating. There’s a few glitches that are really frustrating and need updating. One is that if you have the scripture and commentary up and you scroll to a different verse in the scripture, it automatically bumps the commentary back to verse one. So you constantly have to scroll back down to the verses you were at. Also when you highlight its shifts you upward and causes you to lose your original place. The content is awesome but the technical issues are a bit frustrating.

Good but many glitches. I got the app because I like John MacArthurs study notes and it’s great to have my physical Bible in app format. However, the app glitches a lot, taking me all the way to Revelation when I’m in the middle of reading. Highlighting different passages back to back usually resolves in deleting previously highlighted sections. The arrow on the commentary page sometimes doesn’t work, which results in me having to close out the app and starting over. I paid for the app to have full access to the notes and here I am, encountering issues each time I use it. Hence the 3 start rating. This is my second review. The app continues to glitch, moving all the way to the last page of the Bible every time I want to scroll or highlight a verse. It won't allow more then one highlight on a page, but erases the previous ones. The "arrow back button" on the top left on the commentary page, the one that should take you back to the Bible text, hardly ever works. Usually have to close the app and open it again in order to get back to the Bible text. The worst part about all this is, I actually paid for the app and now it's not working properly. Nothing has been fixed or improved, so for now I will delete the app. I hope others don't have the same issues, because GTY and John MacArthur are amongst my favorite Bible tools/scholars.

MacArthur Study Bible. John MacArthur has been an incredible blessing to me, since my first exposure to John’s teaching gift in the 1970’s to this day he has remained true to his calling of teaching the whole counsel of God. His Study Bible app has been my go to resource for my own personal study time, so well designed, it not only gives me all of John’s notes, it also helps me navigate between scriptures with all the cross references and have access to John’s sermons at a click. Thank you Lord for John and for my MacArthur Study Bible app!

Finally!. This app is a great way to read those old Testament books that I shyd away from for no reason other than they seemed like they would be to dryer not that important – but since adding the app, I can go through an entire book of the old Testament reading it while I listen to it and get a sense of the context of what God was dealing with in the nation of Israel at that time …and the lessons learned are clear and become more present day applicable to me …thank you and God Bless JMac n GTAy! jp

This is the best Bible app! I use it daily!. The app has so many features that are helpful in my study and understanding of God’s Word! Every book and chapter has an introduction that gives you an in depth overview and this in itself could be used as a guide to your study. It’s easy to click on a verse to see study notes about it. From there you can click other verses referenced. You can bookmark, highlight, copy and share. I paid the very small fee to upgrade to extra resources. It is well worth it. You can listen to, read, or print sermons, Q&A’s or blogs relating to the passage. You can choose between NASB or ESV. I don’t need another app now. This is it! I’m most grateful this resource is available!

Great app, great resources, but many glitches. Currently a simple review, but the app is truly a full Bible with intuitive to use, study resources of many sources from Grace to You. It’s great that you can find the notes for all of the chapter, or individual verses, as well as verses related and cross-references. And over-all, it’s easy to find the things you are looking for in the app, and the notes and highlighting features are cool (though I’ve read there seems to be some glitches with the highlighting features). My only and greatest issue is the fact that the app has too many glitches which make the experience not impossible, but slow and poor in many cases. The arrow on the top left from commentaries doesn’t seem to work most of the time, and the app itself is not formatted in a way that fits correctly with my Iphone 14 Pro, but rather there are parts that are cut by the corners or the island at the top of the screen, which may seem more of a simple “aesthetic” issue, but I find that this issue is a little distracting, especially when I’m scrolling through the Bible and the names of the books are literally covered by the dynamic island of the phone🤣. Please consider coming back to the app and fixing it up, it would be greatly beneficial to the app and to those using it. But nonetheless, the essence of what it does is very much there, so I can’t at all say I don’t recommend it. I would simply note that the user experience is a little finicky due to the glitches.

I love this app!. My only problem with this app is operational. When I click on the Bible icon to read the commentary notes, it takes me way too many times trying to tap the downward arrow in the top left corner to get back to the scripture! I thought it was my phone, but I just got a new one and it does the same thing. I will keep using the app for the great teaching innit, but wish this could get fixed. Anyone else have that problem?

Best Bible app out there. I do most of my deeper studying through this app. There are many things to like about it. For one you have great notes from John MacArthur available with just pressing on the scripture. Then when you do so you can easily go right back to where you left off. You can also directly route to reference scriptures and when you are done looking at a reference scripture you can go right back to the last thing you were reading. Makes for very smooth and quick scripture referencing. Also the colors of letters and background can be changed. Well the background can change from sepia to grey to black. I prefer black with Jesus words in red. Also there are many Recources such as daily bible which allows you to go through entire bible in one year while reading 4 different books at once. There are daily devotionals. Each book has an eleborate introduction. MacArthur sermons are available that apply to scripture that you’re reading. It also has audio if you like that. There are also writings from other people in there that apply to the scripture. I love it.

Phenomenal depth and cross reference. I recently bought a copy of this study Bible in NKJV. There are other high quality study Bible apps out there, and I continue to use them frequently. But I have to say that, both the hard copy and this app, by far, are the the richest in notes content, cross-reference volume, clearly presented translational and contextual transparency, and support in understanding the Scriptures in a single product that I have found yet. Great job is making the cross references and notes so easily accessible through the links that match the hard copy callouts and format. My only request is to look at the responsiveness of the “back” arrow key in the upper left corner of the app window. Occasionally it is not responsive to touch. God the Father is the LORD, Jesus Christ is Lord and King, and the Holy Spirit tirelessly endures us, pursues us, ministers to us, consoles us, chastens us, and just keeps on calling us to hear Jesus knocking at the door. Praise His name, indeed!

Just okay. I love John McArthur but I had much higher expectations and am disappointed in this app. Whenever clicking a passage to view notes then returning to reading the Bible, it always goes to either the beginning of the chapter or 5 verses behind the verse I clicked on. Also, when I click on a foot note it’s nearly impossible to see the letter that is associated with corresponding verses when in dark mode. So I don’t know if the verses are for foot note a, b, or c. Lastly, I thought there would be much more notes of verses and difficult to understand passages. Overall disappointed but still use it for the little bits of insight given from McArthur.

Glitchy for anyone else?. I don’t know what happened but initially this app was AMAZING. Now it’s so glitchy for me :( When I’m in reading the notes for the chapter, I can’t use the arrow in the upper left to go back. None of the links work when I click them for cross referencing. It just highlights the text for me to copy/paste or something but it won’t take me to the different part of the Bible verses. and I have to scroll to the chapter ahead to read the notes for the previous chapter. Ie: if I want to read notes for Matthew 3, I have to basically be at the start of Matthew 4 and it’ll show me Matthew 3 notes. I have to exit out of the app and reopen it several times. I’m so disappointed. It’s really frustrating. Is it just my phone??

Audio & text/Unable to purchase in-app. A couple things that would be nice: when the audio is “reading” it would be great if the page keeps up so I’m not manually scrolling along. And when pausing the audio, it starts over instead of picking up where it was paused at. Second thing: I was finally going to purchase but am unable to from within the app. After clicking to buy a message pops up saying you’re unable to purchase from in-app, I click “ok” and an error message follows saying it’s unable to complete the transaction, and I can only press “ok”. So I’m hoping I’m not charged multiple charges because I tried it a couple times thinking it was a fluke, also, I’m disappointed I can’t buy the extra features. Other than those two things I’m enjoying the app so far. Thank you!

Praise God. I am forever thankful for John’s verse by verse teaching. I didn’t know what expositional teaching was for the first 35 years of my Christian life until I heard John on the radio. Now I attend a Bible believing church that teaches all the way through a book keeping everything in it’s original context and I get to follow along in my Bible under my pastors teaching in my MacArthur study Bible (nasb). Thank you for your faithfulness and being steadfast in The Truth of the Word of God. You are truly a blessing to this world and especially my family.

Awesome app. This is an awesome app, I am learning so much. If I may offer a suggestion, I would like to be able to read the scriptures it suggests I read by clicking on the Book, chapter and verse. In other words, under daily reading it suggests you read 1 Kings 2:1, I have to leave the daily reading page to go read it and then come back to the daily reading page. It would be awesome if everywhere in the app a book of the Bible is mentioned with chapter and verse I could just click right there on it and read it instead of having to leave the page I am on and going back to that page after reading the Bible part. I hope this makes sense.

LOVE this app. This is the first “study bible” I’ve gotten (paper or app-wise) and I love it! It’s easy to use and navigate, and has really good commentary, especially for someone like me who just started using a study bible for bible journaling. It is nice to have on your phone while you read a physical Bible and take notes as well. It’s a wonderful addition to any scripture reading and I love that it’s on my phone, easily accessible. It’s a good price & I would pay it over and over again because it’s definitely worth it!!

Love it and love the notes but it’s buggy. Often jumps to the last verse in revelation and after a period of time the audio buttons go away so I have to restart audio and then stop it. Also, I like to read it section by section with the notes and the ability to swipe was recently fixed but now I cannot scroll down and so only see a certain amount of the verses and the notes but cannot see everything. I would be happy to partner with the app developers to fix user issues with the app. I use it every day!

Daily devotional. This app is something that a follower of Christ needs daily . To be emerged in God’s Word . To have the relationship with our Lord and and Savior Jesus Christ. If we say we are following Christ but look like the world our words are false and without Life . We need to have a full understanding of God’s Word or the World will give you their view , even if God’s Word . You need to have Devotions like this to lead a Family , to understand God’s Word to Share the love of God and his Gift of Salvation. To love your wife and to be the Spiritual Leader of your Family. To equip your young men and to equip your young women . I can go on and on with why this is a Godly study app that will draw you closer to God daily , but you need to view and use it to see the Power of this app of God’s Word and the tools you need to fight the Struggles of Sin on our Journey Home . I pray for all that read this , you will be drawn to the Word of God and all of his Glory by Reading and Sharing his word . Have a Blessed Day.

Needs update, now!. I talked to the help center and it seems that now the screen can turn and so that now I can click and change the book! Yey! I just use this as an audio Bible. ———— I used this app all the time to listen to the Bible, I wish there was NIV but it’s OK, I like the voices. HOWEVER, I got a new iPhone and now the top bar on the app is behind the black strip where I talk on the phone and see my battery life etc. It is SO hard to change books and navigate the app now, I didn’t realize how good I had it. PLEASE PLEASE UPDATE!! PLEASE LOWER THE TOP OPTION BAR. I cannot click it and navigate through the Bible. So basically, I can barely use the app anymore ):

Excellent Resource, Highly recommended. I have been using this app for years. When I had droid, I used it as well. Now that I am back on the iOS I noticed they have made some wonderful improvements. The app itself is free and the free option has access to some of Dr. MacArthur’s notes. However, when you do have the $8, I highly recommend doling it out for the extra resources. It is DEFINITELY worth every dollar. I love that once logged in, whatever notes or highlights I have marked transfer over to other devices and I can pick up where I left off. I also like the audio option which has been very helpful for when I am driving long-distance. The audio is clear and sharp, too. I like that when I copy-paste verses, it automatically cites the verses for me. In the meantime, I cannot think of any cons. However, I will update my review when I come across them.

A Huge blessing. The ministry of John MacArthur has been a blessing in my life. My love for the Word of God has put me in a journey of reading and studying the Bible. Since I found John's Study Bible, Bible Commentaries and many books on different topics, my understanding has increased significantly. I can't thank John MacArthur enough for his love, dedication and hard work to explain the Word of God, "one verse at a time". It has been priceless for my Christian life. It has helped me enormously to share the Bible with my wife's prayer group, even though there are Christians and Catholics. The Lord has converted several souls to Christ there. I listen to him on radio, via internet, where I live in Colombia, South America; have the Study Bible, Study Bible App, Grace to You App, Bible Commentaries, books, Pastors Conferences, etc. You name it! John MAcArthur became my Bible teacher. Thanks to all the resources his ministry has made available in so many formats, I believe has made me a better and more knowledgeable Christian. Best Bible verse explanations through the book. I have downloaded mini Bibles and read daily. Leave I get the most out of John MacArthur's Study Bible. You can cross reference easily, the definitions and translations easily to help you understand the passage you're reading. I'm so grateful to John MacArthur for compiling this excellent Bible. I trust in his explanations, reputation, theological education etc. I also enjoy his Grace to you app!I thank God forLeading me to this book to help me understand many things that I could not have on my own.

Thankfulness. Deeply appreciate the willingness of Grace to You to provide us with a way to have the Study Bible with us wherever we go. The app is still in process and each update provides more helps for Bible reading & Bible study. Definitely recommend this app to any true believer & follower of Jesus Christ. Update: If this app were a printed Bible it would be worn, frayed, pages no longer attached to the binding, cover faded, etc. This is the Bible app that gets the most use on my iPhone. JMac is a great theologian and resource. This app has everything. You can read and listen to the Bible in several translations. There are links to JMac’s sermons as well as many different kinds of resources to include articles, maps, charts, etc. There are four different daily devotionals. When you read them they get a checkmark and you can even set an alarm to remind yourself. You can add your own notes to verses. You can read the study notes from his study Bible. Whenever a verse is mentioned in any of the resources you can click on the link and it will take you to that verse in the Bible and then you can easily go back to where you were. I cannot recommend this enough. I have never had any sort of technical issue with the app.

Good app, except NAS problems. It is great to have a MacArthur Study Bible that I can carry with me wherever I go. The notes are second to none, and the ability to add thoughts of our own that will sync to other devices is magnificent. The only issue is that my preferred translation, the NASB, has some missing words! It’s only a dozen or so verses but makes for awkward reading when you come across them (see Genesis 15:1, where it simply says “After these things do not fear Abram,” with the whole phrase, “the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying” MIA). I’ve been sending emails to support for well over a year, with the developers acknowledging they know if the issue but it still hasn’t been fixed. Fortunately these verses that are missing phrases are obvious since what they leave aren’t even sentences, so even someone reading for the first time will intuitively understand something isn’t right and look it up.

Love this app but one major glitch. This app is my go to when I don’t want to get out my big study Bible. There is only thing that makes it difficult to use. When I am in the study notes and hit the arrow on the top left to return to the passage I am reading, frequently it takes several times of hitting this arrow for it to register and go back to the passage. Sometimes I just can’t get it to trigger and have to get to the passage another way. We tried this on another device (iPad), and it functioned the same way. It would be a 5 star app if this function was fixed!

Great app. This bible app is great: it allows many functions able to be done with ease, including highlighting and bookmarking certain chapters of scripture. Along with this, the study notes for $5.99 are totally worth it. 25,000 notes from John MacArthur for this low of a price is exceptional. The only thing that needs to be fixed on IOS systems is that the app does not allow you to scroll down while viewing an individual verse. Sometimes this results on not being able to view MacArthur’s study notes.

Some continual glitches that could be easily remedied. As much as I love the notes of the MacArthur Study Bible, and also much of the look of the layout, I have the same repeated continual problem as I saw at least some others have. Every time I use the app, at some point if I’m reading for long, the app freezes and won’t move; and then when it finally unfreezes, it jumps to the last chapter of Revelation. This generally causes me to switch to a different Bible app bc of the time delay involved, so I generally just defer to a different Bible app to begin with. Also while I’m on the subject, the other little annoyance is in the switching from one scripture location to another. It takes maybe two or three taps on the scripture address to get it to allow you to search another address. I know this can be fixed because the YouVersion app used to do the same thing and they finally fixed that with an update. It was a huge fix. And a little tiny thing is that having to select Old or New Testament is just another unnecessary step that requires an additional click. You can designate the move from Old to New without actually requiring us to select it. Also the Headings for new sections in the middle of books are not in bold and look like part of the text. One example is in the middle of verse 8 of 2 Samuel 19. There is a paragraph switch with a heading title that looks exactly like the rest of the text just stuck right in the middle of the verse.

Being a baby Christian and a former Catholic I never experienced how John MacArthur has a love for the word of God, who also brought it to life and helped me understand in a way I never knew before. A bit clunky. I have the MacArthur Study Bible, so I downloaded this app to be a companion to the Bible itself. It’s nice having all of this at my fingertips when my Bible isn’t handy. But the app is a bit clunky to use. The biggest frustration at the moment is the constant freezing and jumping to the book of Revelation. I thought this was just me, but I’m seeing others mention the same issue. I’ve also found that the app isn’t quite as responsive to touch as it should be. Some icons take several attempts to get them to work. This was the only place to identify issues. Neither the Grace to You website nor the app support page have a method for submitting feedback. I’m hoping one of the developers is watching the feedback and including bug fixes in the next version.

Love this Bible study app. I have been searching for an app I could read the Bible and study notes on and when I found this one I was very excited about it! Since downloading it I have really enjoyed the access to John MacArthur’s notes while I read through the Bible. It works really well on my phone and I like that it has the option to return to where ever you were reading. This app is also a blessing in that it is a low cost option to having the John MacArthur study notes. In the past I have purchased Bible’s with his notes in them and they are very costly. This app allows complete access to everything in the actual Study Bible without having to pay a lot. One think I would love to see with this app is a pop-up bubble when you tap or hover over cross references. This one is very simple and great in that it allows you to quickly go to cross references and still return to what you were reading previously.

Highly recommend. Pro’s: You can easily move through the different verses, which makes it very simple to select a parallel verse on the topic or verse you are studying. Also, the related resources that feature sermons and articles make it best for in depth study. Con’s: every once in a while the app will freeze for a minute then jump to Genesis 1 or Revelation 22. You can only highlight one verse in a chapter. On occasion the devotionals are not updated to reflect the current day.

Wonderful Bible. I cannot say enough about this study app. Knowing and understanding the Word of God is so important. It is helpful to have a commentary to help explain certain passages. The only reason that I give this app. Four stars is because I find it very difficult to distinguish the numbers of each verse. There are so many reference numbers that I have difficulty determining the verse number. I wish the verse number was in bold to really make it stick out. I still love this Bible app and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a solid commentary.

Updates needed. I, like many others, love the opportunity to use resources from John MacArthur. The commentary is invaluable for any serious student of the Bible. However, the app is not as sophisticated for the content that it intended to disseminate. There are several glitches still in the app for example: highlighting text isn’t immediately visible; minimizing commentary oftentimes doesn’t function; when the app hangs up on an action, it either goes to Revelation or Genesis; a verse doesn’t move/flow with the commentary, and finally, the app only has 2 Bible versions from which to choose. It is time for a major upgrade/update and I hope it comes soon…please.

Disappearing text and highlights. I have been adding notes to verses in the book of John. For some reason, when I do this, the scripture will disappear from the rest of the text. It’s still there, but the space is blank. If I tap onto the blank space, the text will show up on the notes page, only. Also, whenever I highlight a text, and then skip down several verses in the same book or chapter, and highlight something else, the first highlight will disappear. Other than that, I love this Bible app and John MacArthur’s notes. Thank you for your attention to this matter. God Bless!

iPhone 12mini doesn’t fit. Hi developers, I like the app and am a subscriber, but after I downloaded this app on iPhone 12 mini, I can’t use it anymore, the size doesn’t fit and I can’t choose the chapter, please fix it so I can keep using it, thanks

Tried many and this is the best by far. Tap on the verse and it references other verses that deal with the same subject or place or concept or teaching. God can then teach you his word by using many parts of his holy scripture at the same time. Maybe other study bibles have this but this is really easy and for $10 you can download all John Macarthurs life time of bible study notes cross referenced as well. BTW the bible itself is free so not a money grab by any means. God Bless

Great tool to study God’s Word. An easy to use app. Awesome notes, great for studying, with highlights and bookmarks, I can study multiple verses at a time.

Great App But…. The only thing that I wish the developers would improve with this app concerns highlighting. When you highlight a text, the page automatically jumps from the current page/view to the top of the page or previous chapters. Please fix the app so that when you highlight a verse, the page and view stay fixed and doesn’t jump to previous chapters or to the top of the page.

Good app. The app is a good research tool great for cross referencing and study , slight down side and I hope it is my iPad , the app occasionally hangs than resets itself , I'm sure the team will sort it out , would be great to include a Greek interlinear down the track the revised version of this app still has an issue where in resets back to rev 22 does anyone else have this issue

More Highlighters and markup tools. I love this Bible! I love how you can remove verse numbers and footnotes! However, I would like it if there were more highlighter colours than just yellow. I highlight in my other bible apps every prophecy and every fulfilled prophecy, both in different colours. However, I can’t do that in this app because I don’t have different colours to differentiate them. Please add new highlighter colours and other markup tools.

Love this app, however highlight ability runs out.. I have been using this app for years and I love that I have all of the MacArthur study notes in digital form. However it seems I have reached the max capacity for highlighting text. I highlight a new text and the last thing I highlighted gets un-highlighted, this is frustrating since I use this app as my main Bible. Please fix this.

Very helpful. I have looked at many bible apps a lot are good, but for me this one has been more helpful. It gives me a daily reminder for daily devotional, I am able to highlight different text in various colours, it reads the word to me when I am unable, and of course we get the amazing insights to scripture helping to understand from Mr John MacArthur.

Great app.. I had just purchased the JM study bible ( a real bible), then I downloaded this app and it's a word for word translation with the notes. Easy to learn and navigate through the book. You can save notes,pages, they have sermons to listen to, topics on today's issues as Christians, lots of stuff! I highly recommend this app for anybody who spends time away from there bible.

Daily Bible Readings. I find it very frustrating that in the Daily Bible Readings section that there is no direct link from the scripture verses to the actual scriptures. This is very counter intuitive and I’m surprised this was missed. It doesn’t make sense to go back and forth from the scripture references to the actual bible and then back again to the scripture reference and then repeat two to three more times. The scripture references should just link to the scripture with a forward button to the next scripture to read. Or You can just layout all the scriptures in order on one page so users can just read it all at once.

Have to Register to Access Settings. Not worth using these bible apps if one has to register to use it. Also, can’t do a search fo4 basic verses.

Bible app. At my finger tips, I found: maps, audio and videos sermons,chapter introductions. There are bookmarks that can be sorted not only by book but also by date. Also a really neat bold yellow verse highlighter that not only underlines the verses, but gives you Dr. MacArthur's clear exposition. I love my MacArthur NKJ study bible, and am now able, with this app, to delve deeper; by having it and the ESV. They now have added an NASB version. Giving me the option to read myself or have the text read to me. I have all the tools in this amazing app.

How absolutely blessed we are to be the recipients of the Trinity’s choice for this day to preach the Gospel to so many. When Christians listen to Dr. MacArthur preach, we know WHO to thank. Extensive study helps!. This is simply wonderful. I actually downloaded it then deleted it because it didn’t have any study helps but then i saw it was very highly rated on here and saw you could download all the John MacArthur study helps for only $6 so that’s what I did. There’s about anything in here you could think of. I love this study bible app.

Amazing bible app. This app is helpful in many ways I am so greatful for the wisdom God has so graciously blessed John MacArthur with and have passed down to me through his voice and the tools on this app are amazing for further study love all things MacArthur it is sad that I could not get the grace to you sermons app due to an old iOS I recommend that app as well. The only thing is I can't login using my email it doesn't recognize it I paid for the notes too on that email so that is lost

Even the best apps need a tweak or two. I use the NASB for study and that’s what I carry and this app is wonderful to be able to have it digitally. I really like the way it handles cross-references. I bought the study Bible notes and like that I have them with me even if I don’t have my physical Bible. I do have a few critiques and suggestions. 1. Refine the filtration tool to add verses and not just chapters. 2. Make the verse numbers a larger font or different color or both. 3. Give us the option of having all the verses begin on the left, “left justify”. 4. Finally, my reading eyes are getting worse and the largest font isn’t that large. A little larger please. Thank you for this wonderful app!! I was glad to delete Youversion!

Notes don’t scroll with text. This study Bible is so valuable to me, and I love having an electronic version when I travel. But one problem: the study notes don’t scroll with the text. When I scroll the text down, the notes scroll UP, back to the first verse of the chapter. It would be much more helpful if the notes would track with the text. Developers, can you fix this??

By FAR the Best Bible app on the market. As typical with Pastor John MacArthur, this is a phenomenally under-priced work by the team at Grace to You. The John MacArthur study notes in-app purchase for $5.99 is by far the best value as it pertains to any and all biblical study resources. This would be under-priced even if it were set at $20 or $30. The biblical wisdom that Pastor MacArthur has poured into this work is astounding; truly indicative of a lifetime of collected biblical wisdom and doctrine. Any person desiring to learn the truth of God’s word will benefit greatly from this work.

Bugs remain unfixed years later. I stopped using this app because, in the middle of reading a passage, the screen would reload and jump to Revelation 22. I came back to it recently assuming, since others had reported this issue in the reviews, it would be fixed by now. I’ve had multiple versions of iPhone, and it happens on all of them. In addition, now that I’m using and iPhone 12, it’s really hard to select passages because the passage selector button bleeds halfway off the top of the screen. This app has so much potential that it’s really sad to see it neglected like this.

Back arrow on iPhone X. The back arrow on the upper left corner of the iPhone X does not work most of the time. I notice it especially when I am in DEVOTIONALS. I cannot back out of it. Many times I have to power off (reset) my X to reset it. It works fine on my iPad. Please address this issue. I love all the many things this app does but ... I just reset the phone and now the top left corner won’t even get me into the menu.

A wonderful study Bible!. I have so enjoyed this study Bible! And it keeps getting better and better! The study notes are spot-on!! Excellent interpretation and explanation! I've used a MacArthur study Bible for many years! I love how I can search a topic or verse and it comes right up. So handy! This study Bible has enhanced my spiritual growth and has been an incredible blessing! Truly a work of God made possible by the leading of the Holy Spirit!!! Best Bible app. Best Bible I’ve used for the last 6 years!! I love the notes. There may need be an update to be optimized for iPhone 14 pro, the button placement is a little covered by the front facing camera and the back button is too close to the left side when leaving the notes. This is specifically for the 14 pro, i had an XR and it worked amazing! Thank you for your continual support

Easy to read. The app gives a 3 bookmarks which are SUPER helpful. You also have the option of highlighting texts and saving them and options to have the words of Jesus highlighted or not. It comes in ESV but you can download NASB and 1 other version. One issue I have is recovering my account because I subscribed (which gives you audio bible and Johns notes) but I forgot the password and have trouble recovering my Id.

The only Bible App you need.. This App is the best. Each member of my family has it. The ease of use just right. John’s notes are an abundant resource to have alongside each passage of Scripture. I cannot say enough good about the GTY Bible App. The related resources tab under each passage will lead you to multiple sermons related to the topic you are studying. I can honestly say for me and my family this app is priceless. Very thankful.

This app is beautiful. Wow, this app is beautifully created and even though I always carry the commentary bible with me is nice to have it on digital. The only things that would make this app complete is to have the word search through the bible as blue letter bible app. Also, to include interlinear text with word meanings as bible hud. Meanwhile I’ll use the three together but I’ll pay anything to have those features together in this one. Very good job!

Good app with an irritating malfunction.. I do enjoy using the app and reading the commentary, however every single time I open the app and look up a verse, within a couple seconds it freezes on me and goes to Revelation 22. I have asked around and others who use this app have the same problem. It does happen more than enough that causes me to close the app and open a different Bible app or pull my own off the shelf if I have it available. Please look into this bug and fix it.

Could be better. I payed for this app to read John McArthur’s notes and every time I click on a verse, it directs me to this notes, however, it doesn’t give you the option to scroll up and down in the notes making your study pointless and useless since you can’t read everything on his notes because it won’t scroll down!!! Don’t waste your time purchasing this.

Great app FIX THE SKIP BUG!!!!. UPDATE: still skips to gen or revelations part of the time when I scroll up or down, or I should say the skip bug is when scrolling with my thumb. Please fix this. Happens multiple times when I try to read… - prev review—- Loved this app on all of my other phones. Now I’m on iPhone 13 pro max and while reading and scrolling the screen goes blank then skips all the way to the last page of revelations, every time I read. Please fix this. It’s very annoying

Slightly better highlighting feature would add one star. It’s the Bible what can you say? the text is great! It’s pretty easy to get around. Access to John MacArthur’s notes are always a solid blessing. But the highlighting. You need to fix two things: 1) Let the reader highlight a phrase (and not a whole verse); and 2) it’s laggy. It really slows down my reading when I have to wait for the highlight to take effect. Fix that and this is a 5-star rating.

Helpful Resource. I’m very thankful that this resource is now available on a mobile app. Brother MacArthur’s insight has been very helpful over the years (especially his ability to provide the historical background of so much biblical and extra biblical information). Perhaps one day an update will enable the Bible text to remain at the same place when switching between different Bible versions (if this feature is available perhaps I have yet to figure out how to keep the Bible text at the same place. Soli Deo Gloria!

App Needs Work. First, I appreciate John McArthur’s study notes and use them regularly. This review is more about app functionality and issues I continue to experience. 1. While scrolling any Biblical passage, it will freeze, sometimes multiple times within a few minutes. When it resumes it always takes me to the end of the Bible. So, the app has stability issues. 2. When I reference the study notes and I try to return to the Biblical text, the small arrow button at the top left doesn’t work or if it does it’s difficult to use. It would appear the button is so small that it’s not easily recognizing my finger(s). Everything else is great, but these two issue continue to make using this app rather challenging.

Outstanding Resource!. I’ve used John MacArthur’s notes for years for insight as I study God’s Word. This Bible is as good as the paper and binding Bible I used for years before the electronic version. I find it easy to navigate, highlight, and make notes (which I can read later on!). It is not the only Bible study resource I use, nor the only app available, but this one is excellent. My only suggestion would be to allow highlighting of parts of verses instead of defaulting to the entire thing.

Love the Study Bible but….. Please fix the issues with the app jumping to Revelation. So many have asked for a fix and I don’t feel the need to elaborate. Also, I can’t highlight more than one thing at a time. If I highlight a scripture and then a few verses down go to highlight again, the previous highlight disappears. I originally thought it was because the verses were so close, but today I looked back to a highlight in another chapter and it had disappeared after highlighting 3 chapters later. So odd. I’m rating low so hopefully it’s seen and fixed. Once fixed I’d love to re rate it.

Love it!. I am grateful I am getting accurate biblical information and learning more and more how to really read the Bible. I like that it offers a “sepia” setting for reading so it isn’t as hard on my eyes. I am glad there is audio as well because with four children it’s sometimes is much easier to listen and go back later to my actual bible. The only thing I wish was different is that it had an Apple Watch app so I could access it there as well.

The study bible is great.. I use it to prepare for teaching my Sunday School class. I do wish that references were not numbered or at least the numbers looked more different than the verse numbers. They look too similar and at times I get confused because the verse number and the reference number might be the same. Not sure which is the verse number. Otherwise it it very helpful and I would recommend it to everyone.

Expertly crafted. The daily reading assignments in Pastor Macarthur's bible app combine Old Testament with New Testament scriptures. Somehow what you read in the Old Testament complements what you read in the new. I think it's a wonderful way to understand what the life of a new believer should be about in the present, the faith they should have in God, and the historical origins of God's relationship to man and eventually His chosen people. And you get to complete the Bible in a year.

Good but Highlighting problems. I really appreciate all of the resources that is on this app but it does not keep record of what I highlight. I would highlight something and them come back later to see that it is not highlighted. Or I would highlight more than one passage in a book but it only keep record of one of the passages that I highlighted. Other than that it is a amazing resource to use.

One of my go to Bible apps. I would say this is my top spot bible app for understanding verses due to Johnny Mac’s commentary that I purchased. I would like to see it updated to include LSB and fix all the other bugs. Looks like they are aware if the issues but no updates for 3 years, but its fine I’ll keep using it because its so useful. The only Bible app I need. This app does it all for me, along with John MacArthur’s notes. I can literally do a Bible study anywhere anytime. It has ESV,NASB or KJV, Study notes, cross references, audio Bible, links to sermons, devotionals, other studies and three bookmarks. I use the bookmarks for the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the gospels. I read a portion of each everyday. The basic app is free but I highly recommend getting the study notes for the cheap nominal price. Thanks for such a great and powerful tool.

My favorite method to study the Bible. The app is organized and user friendly making bro John’s ministry of the word easier to understand. I’m growing in the word and other spiritual disciplines due to app’s audio bible that reads the scripture. Often I get bogged down with a passage. Being an audible learner, I often listen through the passage chapter or book multiple time praying through the scriptures. I’ve had this app for over a year. Every ADHD individual should buy this.

Amazing App!!!. I have been listening to John MacArthur for quite some time and this Study Bible has been extremely useful in following MacArthur’s expository preaching of the truth of The Word of God. The only issue is that sometimes when scrolling through The Scriptures quickly, the app will freeze and end up at the very beginning or the very end of The Word. Other than that minor issue, this is a 5-star app! Well made!

Still jumping around. This is my favorite Bible app - apart from the issues it has. While reading, the app will jump to the end of the Bible. It has been doing this for YEARS, and I’ve contacted you thru the feedback feature. You acknowledged this was a known issue but have never fixed it. The latest version of this app wasn’t 3 years ago? Please do better. Many of the reviews have offered other helpful fixes for this app. Is anyone even reading these???

Superb Bible App. This app meets my needs because it is easy to transfer from the old and new New Testament. This app does not have a lot of features like Logos but I imagine its use is primarily for lay students of the Bible. It is very simplified. I can transfer from one scripture to another easily. I especially like the Author’s biblical notes and the summary page for each chapter. This is my go to app almost all the time.

Thank you!. Thank you to John and his crew for ALL that you do, this app only being the latest of a long list of selfless gifts you've to the world. The only thing I would love to see added to this app is an OFF-line way to listen to the Bible. My husband and I love to hear God’s word while we are driving or doing chores or working; but we don’t always (rarely) have WiFi/internet access. If there is a way PLEASE let this be a next step. Mostly Terrific. I love everything about this app but now I am having a difficult time highlighting the scripture. If there are a couple scriptures close by each other, I highlight one and then when I do the next verse, the first highlight disappears. If I do the next verse after that the first two highlights disappear. I have tried restarting my iPad, restarting the app and nothing seems to work. If it’s a “Study Bible” highlights really help!

Bugs. Use this daily. Only two issues: it jumps to Revelation 22 if my finger is anywhere near the screen and then I have a hard time with the search icon opening up. It’s at the top edge and tiny making it difficult to reach. It takes multiple attempts to open. Would like to give 5 stars but this has been ongoing since I first started using in more than one iPhone.

James 1 I have definitely been through some trials one after another! And just listening and reading the Bible sets me free to worship the true and Living God who exists as the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit three in one! I am sooo grateful for this study Bible! Love it! But.... I love this Bible app, however, there are some bugs. One of these bugs is, every one in a while, the screen will freeze and I have to restart the app. Another one of these bugs is, sometimes it randomly skips to either the first chapter of Genesis or the last chapter of Revelation. Other than these this is the main app that I use to read the Bible and it has very useful studying tools. If you could fix this bug, that’s all that I ask.

Fantastic Bible app. I Love The MacArthur Study Bible app. I have been a student of John MacArthur for over 40 years and have listened to hundreds or possibly thousands of messages on GTY. MacArthur is the greatest preacher since Spurgeon. My only complaint with the app is that if you scroll down the page too fast it will freeze and go to the last book of Revelations…. very frustrating! Overall, the Bible and all the reference materials are outstanding! God bless you John, Patricia and your entire family

Great tool!. I’ve been listening to MacArthur for years now. I have 2 of his study bibles in physical form. I really enjoy the study notes which has helped shaped my theology. The only issue I have found with the app is occasionally it locks up then goes to either the end or beginning of the Bible. Not a huge issue. Great tool to have in your pocket. Also the daily devotionals are a huge plus!

Contains bug that needs fixing. While in the app doing my study, it just randomly jumps to the end of Bible. I am in the Old Testament and seems to do it frequently. Very frustrating. I have to exit and restart. I am in the middle of deep study and then the screen go blank. I know what is about to happen. The next time I tap the screen on my iphone, I am jumped to Rev 22 . So I go back to where I was and after a little bit the app does it again. I love this app BUT this is ridiculous. Please take time to fix this bug.

Great. Grace to You Bible ap is great by itself. In conversations with believers and searchers I encourage the free ap download as well as Johns notes. Early on I purchased John’s notes and am very thankful that they are available for 6 dollars which is a tremendous bargain. There are numerous resources attached to the notes such as previous sermons, blogs, articles, Q&A’s, and excerpts from MacArthurs New Testament Commentaries. I am so thankful for the supporters of Grace to You Church that make these resources available and affordable to the searchers of truth.

Love John MacArthur, app is ok. Have had app on iPhone almost a year. Suddenly unable to scroll down when reading the study notes, so unable to read full note. I can scroll in the Bible passage itself, just not in the notes. Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice with no fix. Also I agree with others: app developers need to fix issue when in notes, and hit a link to another note, it takes me to a Bible passage not the next note. Then if I hit note for that passage, I have last my original place, need to go back to index and find again.

Love the app not the glitches. I love this app and want to give it 5 stars, but I have a lot of trouble with glitches. I’ll be reading something and it glitches and jumps to the last chapter of Revelation. It will do it multiple times as I’m reading and I have to go back and find where I was again. I haven’t found any new updates with bug fixes and I have a brand new phone so I’m not sure what is going on. I’d love to see it fixed!

Worse than ever. This is, I think, the fourth review I’ve written because after approximately four years this app has not been fixed. I tried to go on it this morning and within 30 seconds the app froze. When I went on it yesterday it flipped to Revelation 22 which is the MO of this app for me.(or Genesis 1) When I contacted GTY they said they were aware and it was being worked on. This was probably a couple years ago. I can’t believe this app continues to get good ratings. I’m not the only one with this problem. I usually quit using it for several months at a time and then try again thinking oh maybe it’s changed! Big NOPE!

What a privilege to be able to quickly access the Word of God and the meaning of each verse. Thank you for providing this Bible to use every day in studying the Word of God. My sister and I are in a study of Hebrews 11 by Kristie Grant over the phone as she lives in another state. Together we read from The Study Bible and go to the commentary often for further insight. We have grown in our view of God and what He does using The Study Bible.

My lifeline to the Lord God.. Where do I begin..... THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD. It consistently continues to transform my way of life into every nook and cranny! :D To have this Bible App in the palm of my hands and to be able to search scriptures, details and sermons instantaneously is absolutely more precious than silver and gold! I recently bought a Mac Notebook ($900) just for the SPECIFIC INTENTION of being able to read my Bible in a larger format. But to my profound disappointment, it is not available...it says “coming soon.” That Mac notebook is hardly used. At 57 years of age, I just wanted to read my Bible in a larger format. I am Eagerly waiting for the John MacAuthur Study Bible App download for my Mac Notebook. May the Lord God continue to richly bless your ministry. Many many THANK YOUs!

Love the app, one big issue.. The app is great, I love all the resources, but the back/down arrow does not work. I have to exit out of the app and reopen after I access a resource and want to get back. I have deleted and reinstalled to no avail. This seems to be new, but it doesn’t look like there has been an update to the app in a long time. Is there a fix for this?

The Bible Study App. This is a great tool to use in studying the Bible and enriching my knowledge and love for the Holy Trinity through the truth of the Word. I enjoy the ease of using using the reference verses and the added teachings through blog posts or sermons relevant to the topic of the verse. There wouldn’t be enough room for all the books that would be needed to help present the information that is found in this app. Thank you for offering this method of study. It is priceless.

Beautiful but Broken. I am incredibly thankful for John MacArthur and his ministries including this study Bible app. However, since I’ve downloaded it a few years ago it still has the bug where it will occasionally (lately more frequently) crash and either jump to Genesis 1 or Revelation 22. I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled, signed in and signed out to no avail. I still use it though because the notes and commentary are very helpful but the constant app malfunctions are very frustrating.

Love the Audio Features. This app has been a great resource. It has audio Bible features that have been a tremendous blessing. By spending several months in one of the books, it has helped me to familiarize myself with passages to the point of unintentional memorization of some sections (which is great because memorizing whole passages has never come easy to me). I strongly recommend this app ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful product. Navigating through the Bible has never been so easy the audio part is wonderful I can sit and play it on my nightstand and have a Bible play the majority of the night. And following the sermon at church never been so easy guys you need to make this for all Apple products including Apple TV that way I can have my Bible reading throughout the day and here it just a suggestion God bless.
