Crashing on new iPad M2. This week I been trying to back up and organize my photos. upload/download, then edit in Darkroom and re-upload to a photo site. I opted for darkroom over light room cause that’s how you develop photos in real life. Anyway I’m trying to edit about 1500 photos and after about 10 or 20 the app lags out and crashes. Progress is saved picture by picture so no loss of work. However, it would be nice if I could just select all and use a custom filter I made. Rather than having to go through each and every photo and click several buttons over an over for hours on end. Been at this for a few days on an off hour here hour there. So I think your app is having issues with my large library or it is just buggy, either way wanted to let you know my experience. just can’t do multiple photo edits and can’t seem to avoid crashes every few sets of edits. Thanks, love the app and will continue to use it. Fix the stability and add multiple image editing ability and I’ll start up a paid subscription. Edit-found the "Batch" edit, the ability to edit multiple photos was there the whole time. Please work on application stability

Nearly Perfect. I’ve worked in a darkroom with enlargers and prints. I moved on to digital processing using a variety of tools - Adobe Elements 1.0, iPhoto. I got away from it for quite a while, and coming back recently and trying all of the supposedly “top” photo editors, I quickly became mired in complexity and irritated by the lack of integration with my Macintosh and iPad. I tried a few that were much simpler, but they lacked the tools I expected to find and, again, accessing my photos, both jpeg and raw, either impossible or full of unexpected glitches. I bought a couple and did free trials, but I had to get refunds. They lacked the elegance and simplicity I was used to in the Mac world. Then I tried Darkroom. Wow! Everything works. ALL of my extensive photo library is at my fingertips. It works on my iPad AND my MacBook Pro for one very reasonable monthly fee and have the option of purchasing it outright. It’s truly a remarkable program and a joy to use, play with, experiment etc. without ruining my originals. It even puts them back in my library when I’m done processing. I can then return again and again if I want. I could not be more pleased!

Restored previous purchases. Not the most intuitive means of restoring previous purchases but FINALLY found the settings menu and now all is well. 3 stars because this should also be a full resolution iPad app. Take care of that and this review goes to 5 stars. After the developer responded to my 3 star review saying “Apple doesn’t make it very easy for us to restore purchases……”, I have to add that this has never been case with other Apps – in this case it was a matter of finding the settings to be able to do this. My feelings are that developers need to standardize on the look and position of the settings gear! I upped my review by a star as they noted they were working on an iPad version, even though I feel it should have been developed for that in the first place. If this happens, I’ll make it a 5 star review.

My go-to mood enhancer. I love editing in Lightroom, and occasionally Photoshop. They're my first port of call, and probably always will be. But that's just where I start. I feel like my best work isn't finished until I've brought it through the Darkroom process. I have my own presets that I work from and I love them. The only criticism I have is around pasting edits - I have my presets set to, say. 42 percent opacity, but when I apply the filter, the opacity is defaulted to 100 percent. I have to manually adjust the opacity in at least one image before copying and pasting the preset onto my gallery. Outside of this minor annoyance, I love the ability to create my own "film," so I continue to use the app regularly.

Makes Photo Editing a Pleasure. Darkroom is the best balance of accessibility and depth of features that I've been able to find. The recent flag/reject workflow was a great addition that has made it easier to narrow down which pictures to focus on editing. The filters are my favorite that I've found in any app (looking at you Instagram/VSCO). I'm not a professional, so I always feel like I owe the Darkroom devs credit when I end up with a great picture in the end. The only thing I frequently have to jump into another app for is retouch/repair. But that's a quick hop into PIxelmator Pro and then back into Darkroom for everything else.

Replaced every photo editing app I had. Had to review bc they’re really on top of everything. I emailed them a few days ago about crop related issues after updating the app and in 2 days they released an update fixing my problem. Beyond impressed 💘 FYI I’ve been using this app since 2018 and I’ve tried everything out there. I was also a heavy Lightroom user before now I rarely edit photos on my laptop and strictly use darkroom. I still check out new app recs but nothing even close is out there. Also, I saw someone suggest a healing tool be added and that would def be great but doesn’t affect my use bc I also don’t crazy edit anymore. But I would loveeeee an Exposure feature added to iPhones 🙏🙏🙏

Reading the reviews.... I’ve just downloaded this to try it out. But let me say after reading the responses by the developers to some of the reviews I’m hesitant to put money towards the app. My question, why come across as offensive and upset whenever anyone gives you less than all stars and makes suggestions? Apple, how can you continually highlight this app when you see some of the responses by the developers? You continually suggest you aren’t a pro app, only a team of two etc. That’s fine, then I would suggest making the price less, or even free, until it’s fully ready and it might help you build a loyal following. Most would consider that price point to have a fully polished app ready to work in every way. Just don’t be offended when people who really care make suggestions. By the way I rarely review, this just really caught me by surprise. Not a good way to build loyalty with your brand. Accept the criticism and use it to get better...

The Very Best. UPDATE: This is still my favorite photo editor and one of my favorite apps period. The developer team continues to invest in and add useful features on a regular basis. Recent examples include iOS 12’s portrait depth map and hashtag collections. What’s equally impressive is the thoughtfulness of placement for new features. When an (any) app is new, users like it for its simplicity, but software developers have to improve it — they have to add new features. It’s hard to do that without adding tons of complexity. Darkroom hits an awesome balance. **** This is my go-to photo editor. The included filters are great. The manual controls are awesome. It's incredibly handy that you can modify the original photo. You can use the app to browse and edit photos on your camera roll: no importing. Recent improvements have improved the experience of the user interface as well. I'm really glad I paid for this one. 👍 Hey Developers! You created something pretty special. Nice work!!! 😄

Crashes when zooming in on raw photos 😣. Let me start by saying that I really WANT to love darkroom. It is tightly integrated with halide and other camera apps, and the amount of control available in the app is amazing. I also love that you can super easily switch between raw and other versions of your pics. So the reason I just can’t love this app is because for me it is unusable. I am using halide to shoot raw photos and when I edit them in darkroom as soon as I zoom in close on a raw photo and try to pan the view, the app crashes. This happened every time with any raw photo weather it was shot on halide or another iPhone app, or shot on my Sony a6300 and imported through photos app. I have tried deleting the app and rebooting then reinstalling but it just does the same thing with raw photos. Very disappointed. Hope the devs can fix this soon else I really can’t use the program. If this gets fixed it’s easily a 5 star rating!!

As a professional, this is my go to. I absolutely love darkroom. It has all the controls I want for editing in my iPhone without getting clunky or bogged down with unnecessary extras. If I want to do complicated functions I’d do it on my computer. One request I have is to be able to reorder adjustments so for instance I could move temperature and tint up to the top. I work in Lightroom all day and it would be nice to reorder them to what’s familiar instead of hunting down the adjustment I’m looking for. Darkroom has serious updates so often I can’t imagine they aren’t already working on this, I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. Thank you for making a pro editing tool that just works.

Great App, Developers work hard to keep it that way. Edit: Thank you darkroom! You fixed the problem that I mentioned in this review, glad to see that you are trying to make a great product. I added a star, cause I really do love this app, but have run into a new issue that is almost as annoying as the first. My edits do not remain on photos when I modify the original. I’ve gone back in multiple times and modified a photo, exported it to modify the original. But once I close the app it goes back to its original state. Will be glad once this is fixed! I really do love this App, makes editing a snap. The color controls are a game changer for me when it comes to editing on my phone. The one issue I have with the app, and keeping it from 5 stars is the that in the library, where I can select which photos to edit, it gets the photo is displays is different than the photo that comes up when I select it. This makes it hard to edit photos cause I’m not sure where the photo I want to edit is, I’ll find it, click on it and it’s a different photo. Fix this issue and I think it’s a 5 Star app

RAW editing lags behind. Comparing Darkroom and Lightroom on iOS at editing RAW images taken on iPhone is incomparable. Lightroom takes the raw file at has WAY more latitude for editing shadows and highlights than Darkroom. I conducted multiple tests thinking I was using the app wrong, but I’m on the latest editing and shooting RAW with both Halide and Moment apps. The raw image looks RAW (bad) but when trying to bring back the shadows and highlights, it is unsuccessful where Lightroom handles with ease. I prefer Darkrooms ui over Lightroom, but have to continue using Lightroom due to this gap in processing capability. This app could surpass Lightroom easily if it’s RAW editing power worked.

DarkRoom. DarkRoom is a fantastic iOS photo editing app that I have been using for a few months now. I really like the slider functions as it gives almost pinpoint accuracy over editing your photos. Also this app lets you edit Raw files as well as other more common file types. You have to buy other functions within the app, but most other notable apps like Polarr do the same. At $5.00 per unlock it can get costly. You don’t have to buy them if you don’t want to use the app and it even lets you try before you buy to see if you even want the extras. But over all its functions, and clean interface make it a wonderful photo editing app to use.

I really want to move to iPad only photo editing, this is almost the app I need. I would LOVE to sell my mac and move to iPad only photo editing, but before I can do that I need an iPad app that includes the functionality I have from Lightroom Classic (Lightroom CC doesn’t have all the features I need). I found Darkroom from The Sweet Setup and its definitely the best photo editing app I’ve tried but it doesn’t quite make the move for me. I shoot primarily events and landscapes, sometimes portraits. Required (for me) features that this app does have: RAW support Custom filters Paste edits across multiple photos (the batch edit feature wasn’t working for me, I wish it did) Batch exports iCloud Photos support Ability to tap to change adjustments instead of drag a slider Required features that are missing (or I can’t find): Brushes (for highlights, shadows, saturation, etc...) Spot healing brush or repair tool (I forgot what Lightroom calls it, the shortcut is Q) Wishlist that isn’t a dealbreaker: Dropbox support Ability to view iCloud photos with the date added view in addition to the chronological view What’s nice but isn’t a required for me: Modify copyright metadata on export Favoriting an image in Darkroom also favorites it in Photos

Broken. Just as another recent poster says, bad landscape vs portrait. For some reason, the app is not picking up the orientation on the photo taken on my iPhone 12. It rotates them 90 degrees clockwise when it shouldn’t. Then, to edit them, I turn the iPad Pro or iPhone sideways (the error is happening consistently on either device). Sometimes when switching the photo is distorted, but this whole situation really makes me worry about what is happing to the base image stored, and about the orientation of exports. in any case it’s a serious bug, and has caused me to exercise some of the other photo apps. I’ll be checking back for the fix to this, and will definitely switch back and update my rating to a 5 star when you get it straightened out. Do love the app. One big feature request—choice of sort method of “My filters” or even any and all filters, either by alphabetic sorting, or frequency of use, or recency of use.

Disappointed with their direction. I purchased this app years ago and found the features and UI easy to use- was a great tool to process raw images when I didn’t have a computer. They updated their app and gifted early adopters with updates. Makes sense considering I paid for the app. Opened it up today to find a message stating that I can no longer use the app unless I pay again. This is absolutely absurd. To think a developer would imagine that this is a good idea is ridiculous. Asking supporters to buy an app they already paid for a second time to continue to use it is pathetic. Unless they re-reverse their decision, I can’t recommend anyone giving these people your money- you never know when they’ll backtrack and ask for more.

Best App Ever. This is hands down the best app ever. Even if you are beginner or a professional. I am a professional videographer and a photographer. I routinely shoot instructional fitness videos, portfolios and weddings. The color grading and filters are phenomenal. I really enjoy the workflow set up which is specifically designed for heavy workflow and setup to creat a quick and efficient way of color grading bulk photos by creating personalized filters that you can swiftly apply to your photos. Instead of color correcting each individual pic. This feature creates a uniform look instead of some pics looking different from the others. This app also is just so easy and fast to use. I’m still learning of all the features it has. Keep up the good work!

Screw Lightroom. Ever since greedy Adobe got even greedier and refuses to let anyone buy their software now with an anti consumer SUBSRIPTION so you’re forced to always give them money at all times, I’ve been looking for a replacement. Not only is this app almost as good as Lightroom, it’s priced well to own it for how well it’s designed. I’ve wanted to do photo editing more on the go instead of being stuck behind a computer. Darkroom gives you a lot of the most used tools needed. The controls a very well made and thought out for touch screen use. Everything just makes since how it’s designed, the user interface is simple and over engineered. I have 2 gripes I would like to see fixed. Three no noise reduction. Kinda a very useful tool to have for cellphone pics and night time photography when you can’t get away with using a tripod. The masking is missing a brush. I would much rather use a brush (I have he Apple Pencil) to mask off what I need. This can easily be a toggle option for using the stock way or doing it on your own with a brush. If either of these is an option please let me know. I’d be happy to change to a 5 star rating.

Undesired automatic white balance adjusting. I want to start off by saying I really like this app. I knew immediately I need to purchase it for its easy to use tools and raw editing. However, after recently returning from an underwater wildlife photography trip I started editing my photos and immediately noticed an issue. When I go to edit in any capacity the photo automatically darken a little bit and turn the image greener than it was in camera and in my files. I’m using Sony body and underwater auto white balance. I’m still relatively newer to editing and am not the best but I haven’t been able to get any images back to where they were before this random adjusting. It’s a shame since the blues are very blue and the sea life had perfect amount of red. I’d love for this to be resolved since it’s the only thing keeping me from loving the app again. Thank you.

Great App and Great Team. I don’t use this app often, but when I do, it does what it needs. Recently, I’ve opened the app up and come across a message detailing their new subscription model. Ok, I understand. The next decade in app development will bring about mind blowing features and it’s important to have the ability to finance that. With that said, I was given two options: continue using the app with no additional cost, or subscribe for a reduced rate. Although I chose the free option, I am impressed and happy that the developers have chosen to allow the end user an option like this instead of forcing a subscription. I’m much more willing to support developers like this in the future. And if I used the app more often than I do, I likely would have gone the subscription route. It’s a great app, and I’m sure the future will be bright! Thanks for all the hard work!

I am tired of paid software.. Every piece of software is asking for money. Only 3.99 a month. I am up to 300 dollars for just a few bucks a month. I just want to buy an application. You have to keep the machine moving. Ever more profits. This model is not for poor people. Too many hidden costs. I just wanted to flag a photo like I could do in Lightroom 1, Lightroom 2, and then in Lightroom 4. Then they went to that model. I feel like I paid for this app and then when I go to use it. I gotta pay a subscription. You aren't getting my money. If I am going to pay for something, it would probably have a name like Adobe and come with more services and have extensions. It looked nice until I couldn't flag a photo. How simple is that. Don't put something in the menu and then extort people's money. It's just a couple of cents a day, a coffee a month. 😖🤮

Great features but unstable. Although there are no selective editing brushes, Darkroom is probably the only editor with this many editing tools that allows you to batch edit on mobile. The only thing that’s missing is some stability. It always crashes on my 5th gen iPad mini. The only things I would improve is the stability of app itself, the grain feature, because the grain gets wayyy to gritty, and a noise reduction feature. Honestly I think noise reduction would be more important than a selective brush. I could use Darkoom for event photo editing, where I barely finding myself using the selective brush, but then that leaves out a trusty noise reduction feature so I feel like it really limits my options when it comes to picking a project to edit with this app. I would still rather stick to doing the majority of my editing with Lightroom. This app came very close to opening up my workflow but that one feature of noise reduction missing is a deal breaker for me.

Overall quite good. Coming from desktop raw workflow, I knew I need to give up something when comes to mobile. This app is probably as close as it gets for what’s out there. One of the key feature I’m looking for is curve, and it (kinda) has it, with fixed highlight and shadow mid point, which for the most part I’m fine with it. The problem I have with it right now, and I hope developer can fixed it in next version, is the inconsistent preview AFTER I did the editing. For couple photos the preview inside the app shows overexposed (after I choose to modify original). It constantly skews my judgement, and esp when I want to copy over edits to other photos.

Very useful even for Pros. I use this app when I want to import dslr images (via google drive or canon) to my iphone and display these images on social media or photo share. Obviously I won’t be printing from iPhone files since it’s smaller resolution files. For pro work I would use the real file on my computer and adobe products to edit. But for a quick edit with some nice filters curves perspective cropping and sending previews to clients or even personal use this works well. What I really like is I don’t have to save as a edited image and duplicate files since all edits are non destructive and can easily revert to originals. My suggestion for the developers would be people like me would love more functionality that more closely resembles what I can do on Lightroom or photoshop. I know that means more cost but off top of my head I would really like things like 1) stitching images for panoramas 2) focus stacking 3) spot removal (brush tool) 4) masks (for local edits) 5) hdr 6) more filters esp for B&W. I would pay for these. Carbon has some good ones. 7) Gaussian blurs 8) gradients 9) selective coloring (making eyes whiter, teeth whiter etc) I realize this may be a sophisticated set of functions for a mobile app but hopefully in future it is available.

My go to “premium” photo editing app, ruined by greed.. I’ve been using this app for my photos since basically day one. I outright purchased it as a premium app, then a few years back, they decided to backpedal on that exchange and decided to do what every other app dev is doing; turning their once premium one, time purchase app into a subscription model. It was nice of them to give us “legacy users” 2 years of free updates, and I didn’t initially mind the masks mode being unusable without subscribing. But the new color grading mode is now a big red button cluttering up the UI begging, no, demanding that we subscribe finally. I don’t even need this feature, it’s absurd that we don’t have the option to hide it if we don’t need it instead of having our workflow smudged by a constant reminder. I asked if they had a hidden feature to hide this button, and they simply said no. So here’s a 1 star review for catching up to your greed. The photo is still pretty great bedsides 🙄

Excellent App!. I recently discovered the Darkroom App. I immediately purchased full functionality. For years, I have made “social media” posts by editing JPG files with less than ideal image quality. Frustration finally led me to search for a better option than the stock Nikon wireless mobile utility and Apple Photos on my iPhone. That’s how I came across Darkroom (and ShutterSnitch by a different developer which allows me to download RAW files in bulk off of my Nikon camera). This combination is incredible; I only wish I would have discovered it earlier. Note to developers: I just sent an email to you with a couple of suggestions that might make your 5 star app even better 😊

edited. It seems that every year I do a lap of the photo editors out there and come back to darkroom. The UI is slick, the file support is broad, and the workflow is clean. It is still the best photo editor I’ve used since my old days on non-sub adobe computer software for my very basic editing needs. The premium model promotions have become more in your face — a week ago I was locked out of many basic tools and did my annual look around, to come back today to an again functional app. I understand the team needs to support themselves and their continual development. As a customer who once paid many years ago I can’t ask for much. It seems the day is coming when I will be forced to choose between a $80 fee for a promise (and what do promises mean these days) or capitulation to the subscription model. In the latter case, I’d probably return to adobe (better desktop option and more sophisticated exposure handling). I hope the day doesn’t come… Old review: With the most recent update, I noticed that tools I had used before, notably curves and selective color edits, are now premium features. This is particularly upsetting because the staff of Darkroom have long promised old users that they would not remove functionality in order to force us into buying the subscription model; rather, they (once) claimed that they would only add new tools exclusive to the premium version. This promise appears to no longer hold true.

Replacing Adobe Lightroom with this. Very capable photo editing app at a reasonable yearly subscription rate. I’m getting myself out of the expensive Adobe universe and this is a good option for an in-phone photo editor. It’s missing a few adjustments like “Clarity” and “Dehaze” that I’ve used frequently enough to miss but you can create those effects yourself with the included adjustments. And then save them as your own presets. The one adjustment I would like to see improved in Darkroom is the curves. The adjustments are locked at 5 percentage points (at least that’s how it seems to me) where other photo apps allow you to add and move the points to different percentages.

Great integraation. Still waiting on a few improvements.. I've been a Darkroom user since the early days. It has really come along way and is an incredible tool in its current iteration! I think a ton of users will be stoked on it just the way it is. I am a working professional a still need to see a few improvements to really be able to embrace it. 1. It still tends to be buggy. 2. On my Mac the displayed image while editing is a bit blurry. When you zoom in the image clears up....but their default editing image is not sharp. 3. The presets are almost all a bit too extreme for actual work...(I have to back them down to about 50% for them to become usable.) It would be nice to see some more subtle presets. 4. The Smart Masks are great! But we need to be able to use them on non-portrait and ProRaw images. My main overall issue, is that I know bringing an image into Darkroom is going to equate to a bit of work to get my final edit the way I want. I know that I can go into Lightroom and have what I want in a few clicks...I can't say the same for Darkroom. I love Darkroom. I love what they're doing. and I really feel like they are close to something revolutionary....and theyre getting closer and closer. I'm rooting for Darkroom. I'm a big fan. Download it!!

Update needed??. I love this app, but recently I haven’t been able to edit my photos in the photo app as I’ve done before. In the past I was able to press edit and have the option to edit there without having to open the darkroom app. I liked doing that because it wouldn’t remove the filter I had put on the photo beforehand. Now I have to open the app , choose the photo but as soon as I do that , it automatically removes the filter I had put on the photo .I don’t know if I have to do something different now to get the same result, and I don’t know if there’s a solution to this , really hoping that I can get some help

Great app that keeps improving. I love this app, and continue to be impressed by the developer’s improvements, it’s come a long way even in the few months I’ve had it. The only thing I really feel like I’m missing at this point is some more advanced editing controls like clarity and noise reduction, better support for RAW files, and more filter options (I still find VSCO to have better, more subtle filters). I absolutely believe it will continue to improve though, and right now this covers 90% of my editing needs. The stability and speed of the app is fantastic, batch editing is fantastic, and the design of the app is superb!

Why no “Camera Roll” option?. Why not include a Camera Roll option in the Album picker? Some of us are working with pictures from the camera, screenshots, selfies, and downloaded photos all at once. The options currently provided limit what is seen by the user without a lot of guesswork and jumping through many different album options which causes so much unnecessary frustration. An un-sorted Camera Roll album option would eliminate this and allow us to work with ease. If this option gets added in an update, I’ll stick around and even subscribe, as I really do enjoy all of the features and feel the developers deserve compensation for their hard work. However, if this doesn’t get changed I’ll be forced to stick with Ultralight to get my needs suited, which is a shame because I really wanted Darkroom to be my go-to.

Full of options. Some nice filters and the app has full of valuable features. They give you enough free options to keep your interest and let you test the paid features before you decide to purchase. No annoying ads is a plus. It’s not easy to commit these days as you don’t know how things will turn out but it’s one of the few apps that I haven’t deleted after running into something unbearable. I really like some of the film like filters. I hope there will be more refinement in that area based on some professional coloring techniques to get a really pro look to photos and videos. It can be a challenge to get good color in your still and moving images. This app’s filters don’t feel cheap. Only thing that bugs me now is you can edit a slow motion video. It becomes normal speed. I don’t know if can be slowed back down after exported but it’s difficult to work on something meant to be viewed slowly while it’s moving rapidly. Otherwise I’d say keep up the good work! It’s beautiful app full of functional features and booming with more potential. For now the only other apps in my personal use that compete with this app are the photoshop apps, even though they can also do layers. For video so far I still rely on my desktop software even though I believe mobile edit is the future. Would be amazing if this app could also animate still photos or bond with video but that’s probably asking too much.

RAW editing needs improvements. This is a great app. I love the UI and UX. Love the integration with Halide. The filters are great. Copy hashtag feature is absolutely great - love it. But what I think needs more work is raw editing features. The photos are underexposed sometimes. Even after increasing exposure and brightness, they remain underexposed. With Adobe Lightroom, the same photo gets a lot of light when I move up exposure a bit. This is my only issue with the app. I am quite fine with it missing some other useful features like selective editing. Darkroom in app purchase is a one time thing, so compared to Lightroom, Darkroom definitely offers better value at a lower price. If the under exposure issue is fixed, I will continue using Darkroom for almost all my photo editing.

So forget Darkroom legacy customers?. I remember when Darkroom was barely starting out, I paid for it and appreciated that they kept their promise in letting us “legacy members” still use the basic features of the program. Today I accidentally chose using a mask and went back and now I can’t even export the images I edited with their basic features. Now they’re pushing I subscribe or buy again “forever”. But what is forever? A few years back I thought my purchase was so I could edit on it “forever”, what’s going to make me believe $75 will let me edit on it forever this time? I already subscribe to Adobe so I guess I’m going back to that. Companies need to understand we can’t subscribe to them forever. A solid price to use it forever and keeping it that way would help.

Way Less Buggy since iOS update. Update: things seem more stable lately, it could be my own fault as I was behind on an iOS update. I’ll keep checking back. Thanks for the response and the hard work, sorry for getting a little rant-y. First world problems, 🙄. Batch function and general interface of this program are still tremendously helpful.. one suggestion : Picsart is the only app I’ve found so far that has this, but the ability to use erase (and in particular to control the transparency of the eraser tool in order to facilitate smooth blending) on parts of the applied filter / fx is extremely useful - I’ve used that small function so extensively, you can completely deconstruct and recreate a new image with this tool. If you guys were to add this function, holy moses… I would love that.

filters glitching. UPDATE: the problem is fixed and my filters are back! i love this app, i’ve been using it as my main software for editing pictures super easy and fast for a couple years now, but recently it’s been changing and deleting some of the filters that i’ve had and i cant change them back. anytime i try to readjust the settings and press “update”, it updates and works fine on whatever picture i fixed the filter on, but when i go to another picture and try to use it, all of the settings are messed up again and sometimes in different ways than before. even when i remake the entire filter with the same settings, i go to another picture to use it and everything’s changed around again. i’ve had no problems until this point, so hoping for an update soon.

RAW image processing isn’t usable compared to others. This app has the potential of being great. It has the library support and copying edits across many pictures by pasting. Overall the feature set is ok , but I noticed the biggest problem compared to other apps for RAW image processing. This app shows the RAW image file with muted colors and a white haze across the image. Adjustments that O make aren’t the same adjustments as in Lightroom or Affinity Photo, or even After Light 2. Is it the RAW image processing or the was it show the image? Ive tried many images back and forth with the other apps, and I cant get a desirable edit on Darkroom the way I get it on Lightroom or Affinity Photo. I cant get that crisp vibrant photo I want. The end result looks muted, off color, and not clear, with noise. I like the potential for the app, but it needs to update its RAW image processing algorithm to make it useable and on par with the other apps.

Like the App Interface, good basic editing. Lovely interface! Would like to make this my primary editing app, but there are still a few features missing (see other reviews). Overall, it has most of the things you need to edit photos quickly. The asking price for additional filters is also pretty reasonable. However, pre built filters aren't what I want most. If prioritizing new features, please work on retouch tools next and add a way to resize images easily. Edit: I would like the ability to resize photos to reduce file size for easier sharing. Also crop for upload to social media - the popular aspect ratios are 1:1 , 4:5 and 16:9. Thanks!

Very Misleading. To be clear, downloading the app is free. “Trying” is it free. But you can’t export anything unless you pay for the app so I feel it’s very misleading to advertise that it’s free. The developer should clearly state upfront that if you actually want to use the app - as in make edits and download the final image - that the user has to pay. I understand the premise of try before you buy but that’s wasn’t clear from what I read. I also find it odd that no matter what edits you make, even simple edits, you still can’t export the image. Most freemium apps allow some free options. That said, the app seems to have a lot of nice editing features. From a usability standpoint, sliders that have a generous margin to snap back to 0 is nice. My suggestion to the developer is to rewrite the description so it’s very clear that the app is not free.

Screenshots are pictures too. If I could add one advanced feature it would be spot-selected white balance, but I'm content with the controls for the most part. If I could add one basic feature that really shouldn't be an issue, though, it'd be to import screenshots. Why the hell are screenshots excluded? I have this near-perfect photo editor and can't edit 1/4 of my photos. I know screenshots aren't ideal for printing but they're good for testing crops and testing edits of photos, the latter I can't do without making copies of photos thanks to this app's strange limitation. Yes I can test edits on a single image but I would have to note and undo every edit to try the next. It just seems so much more inefficient than simply allowing screenshots to be edited. Edit: added one star. It's good that screenshots aren't completely excluded, but I still wish they appeared in albums like normal photos do. In an attempt to declutter, per developer's response, I feel like they've actually created more clutter in making screenshots harder to navigate and cause needless frustration by making them disappear from albums they're in. If you want to declutter the normal camera roll, that's fine, but favorites and other albums should be left alone.

Bait and Switch Pricing. App looks great with good controls and fast to use. Image quality looks very good as well. Before downloading I saw in the in-app purchases description on App Store that it was $9.99 US to unlock everything! I was ready to jump on it. That’s an awesome price for an app of this caliber. However once open, it’s revealed that it’s actually $50, (or subscribe which is a business model I don’t support). I’m kind of upset at the false advertising. I want to support the devs and get a great iPhone editing app, but going to pass on this one. Affinity Photo, a full desktop class app, is more than 50% less, (and feature rich Procreate is a fraction of the price)! Granted they are iPad apps, but just have to bounce images to the iPad for editing. Comparing features and usability of Affinity Photo vs. Darkroom I’m disappointed with the ratio of features to asking price here... Especially after the bait and switch.

I bought the full version. Let me start this review by saying the only thing this app is missing IMO is a spot healing feature. For me it would be a the perfect mobile editor with spot healing. With that said I did buy the full version of this app and I believe it is a steal at the current price. If you’re willing to make monthly payments for Lightroom or Capture One this should be a no brainer for mobile editing. The lack of selective editing brushes (besides spot healing) is a non issue for me as my editing doesn’t get too crazy these days. Highly recommend! Easy 5/5 even without the spot healing.

Good but.... Really looking for an app for culling my Photos library on my mac. I use Lightroom for culling photoshoots and love that I can use those same flag/reject options in Darkroom for culling my iphone photos. However... Photos library allows me to filter just videos or just photos, and that is a feature that is lacking in Darkroom. When culling, I want to be able to do all photos or all videos, not just raw photos OR live photos OR portrait photos. Definitely an area of opportunity. Would also love to have a less expensive option to use the app for just culling. I have no intention of using it for editing and can't see spending that kind of money for just culling. I could see this being very helpful for culling but overall, it just doesn't quite meet the mark for me.

A little question. Hey dear Darkroom team, Firstly, it was a very nice experience to use your app. You know, you guys have got the best interface in a market, But I do need to ask you a question that if you want to add a precise editing feature to your app because your app has been nearly perfect except for the absence of that one little feature. And I’m really sure there are a lot of people out there who are willing to pay you for that. To be honest there are some apps which have already had this feature and charge less, but I believe Darkroom will still be the best if that feature has been added. :)

I HAVE FOUND THE ONE. My go to editor . It’s crazy I’ve got to cull all these damned apps . I can’t afford all the subscriptions. Although this app usually does not cost after you buy it, with the problem of hurting one companies feelings ( do they have any? ) I’m sure they do , but for the money and the fact that FilicPro, , Remote & their camera app are bundled, every-time I open it they upgrade it to the newest version . So eat that Adobe. That and the fact that I have the Zhuhai Smooth 4 it has an upgrade and firmware upgrade that keeps it compatible with The gimbal. . I also believe that even with so many variables, FILMIC PRO BUNDLE IS THE MOST LIKELY ONE APP WHICH I WILL DEDICATE MY PHOTO/ VIDEO AND USE LUNAFUSION FOR EDITIng. Sorry you all are good and any one of the top players are in the running , FILMIC PRO seems to have the most for the least $ . Sorry Camera +, I’ll try and keep current as long as you hold me the owner of the software. NES pas?

The developers are good humans!!. Read the privacy policy (in part): “At Darkroom, we firmly believe that your data belongs to you. As such, Darkroom does not collect, store, or share any images, or data that can be used to identify or contact a specific individual. We do not have advertisers, nor do we require an account to use Darkroom. All information that we do collect is usage and analytics data that is anonymized, generic, and used to help us improve the quality of Darkroom. We never upload your photos.” Dear all other developers: this is the type of privacy policy that makes me want to give you money.

I never write reviews but.... I found myself compelled to give credit where credit is due. As an amateur photographer I found myself very impressed with the features and customizability in darkroom. I have used several photo editing apps in the past including Lightroom, VSCO cam, etc. However; this app offers the flexibility and depth where other apps fall short. Keep up the good work. If you have graduated beyond just point and click filters then seriously look into this app. I bought the one time purchase to unlock all features and have been thrilled with the results. Cheers!

Useful; terrific and unique Inset Width for Frame feature. 1 thank you for years of use and my benefit with your well designed app. Your app has helped me as a regular guy with my home pictures, not a professional in many ways. And as a volunteer to groups to post schedules and things. 2 your app is the only app, or PC edit s/w that I know of, that has the added frame width keep to the dimensions of the original picture, e.g., I add a border to an 8.5 x 11 in poster. After the frame is inserted, the resulting poster with frame is still 8.5 x 11 in. As the frame width is increased, the original image shrinks to accommodate the new width. This is ingenious - I have used this feature for years. This is the most important feature for me. Thank you! 3. I read your statement about why you are in need of a subscription. It is not easy in retirement, but your truthfulness and intent to honor past members to continue free, is a remarkably ethical character that I applaud you for, so I will likely pay the one time fee after this post to support your endeavor and to not have reoccurring fees. Healthy and Success to you and your team.

Great Integration, Limited Dynamic Range. I really love the way they have integrated Darkroom with the native Photos app, so you don’t have to go to the extra step of importing from and exporting to the Camera Roll. However, when I tried to edit photos that were previously edited with Lightroom, I couldn’t come close to matching the results and was. very disappointed. The problem was especially evident in photos that have deep shadows. It is just impossible to bring out the shadows the way you can with Lightroom. The brilliance, highlights and shadows sliders don’t have enough dynamic range to tune the image. If the developers can fix this limitation, it will be a winner. The developer has responded that they are working on improving these adjustments in a future release. I will be very interested in using the app once they do as it should make if five stars.

Affordable photo editor. Only been only using it for a couple of weeks, but find it easy and quick to use. Enjoying having richer photographs. - only wish that you could add text and then it would be my number one!

I can't keep paying for this software. A year after reporting issues / bugs they are still in the software. In what other software that dispalys a grid of images can't you use left / right keys to navigate the images? It's like these guys do ZERO usability testing. Time to find something else.

Review. Good Program, you can tell the developers really love it. Crashes once a day but that is my only complaint. Definalty gives lightroom a run for its money.

Great and easy. One of the best free editing apps I’ve ever used

What happened?. I got a developer reply to this (although I can’t see it here ...) Seems DR can’t edit RAW files on some older iPads. Shame, but that’s my problem. Still love this app, will have to stop shooting in RAW till I can afford a new iPad. Apparently they’re trying to fix the issue where any action in the app pauses what you’re listening to (for me using AirPods). Review: I love this app but something has recently changed and it’s become I useable. On my iPad it crashes every time it tries to load a photo. (iPad Air, iOS 12.4.9) On my iPhone, every action (open a photo, edit action) interrupts my AirPods Pro streaming. I like to listen to podcasts while I edit and it pauses every time I perform an action in the app. Frustrating, impossible to use. Please fix!

So over it. If you’re only gonna offer a couple of filters for free and then try to sell the rest of it, why make the app “for free”?

My current go-to for on the move photo editing. Tried a number of options but this is my standard editor and has been for some time.

Already fantastic, even better. Darkroom was already a fantastatic app, and this new version with masks is even better. The one feature I missed, woke up this morning — and there it was. Thank you!

The best photo app.. THE best photo app - bar none. Seriously good - easy to use - it just works. Brilliant. Please develop a version for IOS.....

Far and away the best editor on iOS. In particular, the way it handles the depth map allows manipulations to be performed in seconds that would take around 15 mins in Photoshop.

Has saved me 2-3 hours a day. Customisable filters, as well as awesome built in ones that make my product photos look professional, I can batch edit a whole bunch of photos on my phone in the app or individually from my photo albums, so quick and easy I was editing 300 or so photos a day individually and this is amazing. Thank you so much 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Easy to Use ... But. Hi There... this App I would say is ‘excellent’ except for the fact I bought InApp purchase of Premium Filters, etc. and every time I go to edit a photo, curves, etc. a drop down appears over the top part of my photo asking me to buy them. Very annoying as I would otherwise rate this App 5 out of 5.

App crashes frequently and no longer integrated in Apple Camera Edit. The app crashes multiple times and now charges for subscription… It’s iPhone integration has also been removed in the Dec 2022 update. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

2023 - Buggy. Has awesome features, missing some export functions and erase functions BUT the most annoying, editing raw photos stored on an SSD makes it incredibly buggy. This is where we are going to edit from. Example - I change the ‘Highlights’ and the image goes blurry until I exit and go back in. This is not the only issue. I am currently trying other apps now. This has HEAPS of potential though.

Perfectly good!. I purchased this app way back and it’s amazing for photos editing of course. Just as of today it’s not giving me full features without paying, thought people who already purchased it would get full features from today?

Love this great for quick edits.. Love this app. Really good on a phone for quick release of images to social media. Rendering does take some power and the software will freeze when trying to export. Just close your background apps and it will render. Well worth the $$.

Brilliant. I can do just about everything on this app. so I don’t always have to whip out my laptop to edit photos. I really like this app & will recommend it to my family. 😀

My expectations were a lot higher ☹️. It barely has any effects like I edited this photo and I couldn't even tell the difference from the original. I'm not being rude or critical but in my strong opinion, literally, add more stuff. If u still don't believe me, try the app and then trust me, unless they created add more in the last minute, you'll regret getting the app. Thx 😕

Great app. Great for quickly editing photos on the go, the filters help get what you want very fast without having to think too hard.

Great App but changing to subscription based. Deleted App. One of the very few Apps that I use to edit my Photos bu t now changing to subscription based. Sad to see the producers of this app have joined the money grab. Guess it will be another app I have to delete. Deleted the app

Incredibly powerful - easy learning curve - sticks to the important things when editing!. I am a long time subscriber to Darkroom (maybe 3 years) and I have watched it mature into a powerhouse app. I shoot with a Canon R5 in Compressed Raw (CRaw) and it even handles those files due to the clever way it piggy backs of Apples iOS OS to do the heavy lifting. I am genuinely amazed at how quickly I can adjust images and give them the lift they need and then seamlessly integrate the changes into my Apple Photo Library and in a non-destructive way so the original file is always safe. Files open fast, tweaks are easy and saving simple.

Changed to Subscription model. No way am I moving to a subscription model. If I did it would be ADOBE suite & Cloud not Darkroom. They’re a rip off. There are plenty of good for purchase apps. Happy to pay but never subscription. Any serious work I do will be on my PC where i can access Lightroom CC and other non subscription programs.

Cant edit Raw photos. I’m not able to edit my raw photos. When I make any chances photos disappear and I’m left with a black screen. Works with JPEG.

Simply brilliant!. Makes all other photo editing apps look dated and kludgy. Incredibly fast. Seamless integration with Photo library so good. Would love apps like Snapseed and Affinity Photo to look and learn.

You broke it. Been using this app for a while on my iPad mini. Worked great & I love it. But in the last 2 weeks, as soon as I open a photo, it says “loading image” in the bottom right & then the screen goes black & it crashes. Further, in the odd chance that the app doesn’t crash, the photo loads with a fade but is not exported with the same fade so there’s no ability to actually know what your edits look like until you export them, which is extremely frustrating. I’m trying to go back to a version that worked for me but can’t seem to figure that out either. It really shouldn’t be this difficult & frustrating to edit some photos.

TOO MANY BUGS. I have subscribed darkroom yearly, and recently found many bugs: 1. when clicking on an edited photo, it takes 3 seconds to show from original to edited version, sometimes it just stays at original version, i have to view other photos first to see this photo. 2. sometimes when i open photo in library, it jumps to the 'photo editing' interface without the actual photo being there, just blank, does not open at all. These are two major bugs i would like to report, i love the filters in this app but if i cannot get a STABLE app, i would rather give it up. thank you.

Wonderful App. Gives you so much control over your images. Turns average shots into memorable photos. I’m really enjoying it

About the cost. Always enjoyed using Darkroom over other iOS photo processing apps and finally, finally masks have been added to the toolkit to make version 6 a complete app, but that one time price of USD75 — for those of us that don’t like renting our software — is pretty steep and what hurts more is that a purchase on the Australian App Store costs just under AUD120, whereas my currency converter tells me an equivalent price should be around AUD100. Edit: the developers reached out after I wrote the above review to tell me that Apple is the one that sets the foreign pricing based on the USD price of the app. Understood, bit doesn’t change the fact that the price in AUD costs way more than full featured pro-level desktop software like Serif’s Affinity Photo. Some people will see the value in Darkroom 6. I don’t.

Better than VSCO. Easily the best on-the-go editing app for iOS. The curve adjustments and portrait mode specific details are fantastic, 5 stars.

Aswome. i am starting out in the photography world, and jumped between photoscape x and this for frw monts, but with practise this is the better of the 2. full 5 stars. mutch less gimmicy

Simple rewarding edits to all your Photos. Easy to use, watch the change on screen to relize how much better RAW can be to adjust the photo. Makes you better at photography than you think...

Not quite there, yet. At a similar monthly subscription to Lightroom, it is lacking too many features, such as selective editing/masking. Video editing aside, the free version of Lr has all the functionality of the paid version of darkroom. I’d love for more advanced tools to be implemented to have a competitor to Adobe Lr.

G R E A T Photo editor. Very happy with the user interface with this app. All the effects and how I can upload photos to my social media direct from the app. So cool & thanks to the developers. Cheers from YouTuber iSpike

😂😂. i came here from All things adrienne 😂❤️

My Go To editor for iPhone iPad. I've been using Darkroom since it's first version, and it just keeps getting better and better. It's my goto editor on iPhone and iPad and almost better than lightroom on laptop.

Does not work for .NEF RAW files. It would be helpfull if the developer included a list of the the type of RAW files the app does not recognise. I purchased the full bundgle thinking that from the reviews it would be a suitable app. I contacted the developer about htis issue but never heard back.

Dark room is intuitive and logical combination. Combination of all the other apps - there are a couple as good but I love DR

Brilliant. My entire workflow is mobile now thanks to this app. It’s incredible. Just wish it could import directly from Google Photos as well as Apple Photos. But that’s a minor thing, it’s great.

Great app. This is a wonderful app, powerful editing tool. Bring me back to use my iPhone camera instead of mirrorless cameras. So satisfied with this application. Not satisfied parts: Unable to open raw file from sony a7iii. Overall great application, highly recommended. Hope you send out the new update which supports a7iii raw file.

Great experience and result with some issues. I definitely love the user interface of this app. But, the jpg file this app produces from raw file is so large. 10Mb-ish jpg file which is much larger than the finest jpg file my camera (FUJI XT1) can capture. And the details contained in 10mb jpg picture made by Darkroom is similar to 2mb jpg image produced by VSCO (yes, I edited one raw file with both Darkroom and VSCO then compared them). Also, I heard there is a depth blur slider? I cannot find it in my iPhone 6s Plus. And I found that when I boost up the shadows in raw file, the dark part will looks like a bit grey or like I added fade in it.

Next level editing in your pocket without subscription. Title. 100% recommend. Tweaking the colour profile of your photos is assuredly useful. Great app too, easy to use, no bugs.

Very well designed. This app and the Mac companion app have reinvented my photo editing workflow. I’ve switched over to Darkroom, particularly because I can perform bulk actions and paste edits onto multiple photos, and then save them over the existing photos in the camera roll without making a new copy, still having the option to revert to the original photos. Amazing

Needs an iPad Pro version.. Great app, but really needs an iPad Pro version that works in landscape mode. There’s a lot of DSLR hobbyists out there, who I like using their iPads for photo editing

Grate. I love the app, with or without the in app purchases it’s grate but it’s 4 stars instead of 5 because when you have a raw photo there an option in the corner on a photo to make it jpg which can’t be moved or hidden so it sometimes blocks key features of the photo

Great App. It has all the right features to edit at a pro level

Love it 💕. Love this app so much. Such a easy way to edit the colour in photographs and make them look so much better!

Great on iOS, terrible on Mac. Having loved Darkroom on my iPad, I was eager to try it out on Mac. I was surprised at the sheer amount of bugs, crashes, and general performance issues. I edited 300 wedding photos and barely made it through due to the performance. Edits don't show after having done them, huge delay when selecting multiple images, and multiple crashes. Hope they improve it over time cause at this point I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Still awesome on iOS though.

Compatible with iPad. Well, it opens, but it feels like I'm working on an original iPhone screen. I'd much rather edit on a proper big screen interface, so I guess it's back to Lightroom on the Mac. Update: apologies to the devs for commenting on an old version. Will update when I can afford a better ipad.

Dammit I like this app...but. I’ve been using many other apps and this one really has to be the slickest and fastest way to edit photos on the iPad. The left thumbnail and right side adjustments in freaking genius! So natural to work though Lott’s of photos, favourite the ones I want and edit on the fly! Love it! But.. no brush edits in a photo app for 2018 is a little sub par, almost every photo has an element of brush edits (day lighten the face for instance or darken a part of the photo not a whole vignette) and to have that missing when taking on other established apps is disappointing. I saw that it’s on their road map and the day that drops I truly believe this will by my go to app!

Fantastic. It’s the best app I’ve found for photo editing with lots of control. Is easy to use and create custom filters. There are still a couple features I’d like to see to make it perfect. Such as being able to layout selected photos to color match them easier (I have sent as a request and they got back to me which is great). Other features I’d like to see is corner pinning and some warping style manipulation so that you can align and straighten photos better. The iPad version is also just the phone version running on the iPad (like Instagram) not a big deal but would like a bigger screen sometimes. But purchase this and it’s features, you won’t be disappointed.

Superb Amateur Editing. I’m using an iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen. and this APP provides an incredible array of preset filters that make your generic pics seriously POP! Incredible control of various parameters (contrast, vibrance, clarity, etc.,).. simple learning curve, doesn’t require knowledge of photography or engineering (lol). You can also lock the CROP tool to fit standard frame & media sizes.. Excellent library features,.. so much more that I’ve yet to find/use.. best editing APP for the cost.. AtomicTuna (Ottawa 2022)

Zero STAR!. We ran away from Adobe and other usual suspects because of their milking $$ model = subscription! But, I guess you can run but you can’t hide! I gave this 5 well-deserved stars for many reasons and paid for each and every extras it gave us just to be fair to developers and their hard work! But, with the exception of true services, such as Apple Music, Microsoft Office 365, Netflix and other streaming services, I see absolutely no reason to pay for each and every app like these! Remember 1Password for so long they kept saying they would always keep both subscription model and 1-time pay side by side?!! Yup, they fooled us and many many other developers learned from them and drag us to this nonsense subscription model! A company like Netflix spending millions of dollars licensing or producing contents charge $10 / $20 per months, Apple Music $10 and etc ... I fail to see why I should pay to subscribe for something as easy as video / pic editors when there are hundreds and hundreds of similar apps for FREE or 1-time payout!! Ongoing development - my nose!!

excellent. Plus je m'en sers, plus je vois les possiblitié de cette application. Un gros plus est le prix.

Great. just happy to have a streamlined workflow where i can keep the original raw but update the preview jpeg. presets are nice and im a big fan of the design of the app in general

Scam Subscription..... Supported this app for a long time and purchased their packs.... now they want us to pay a subscription???? Good bye darkroom... another bloated apple product.

Ma chambre noir favorie. Heureux de vous retrouver . Excellente apps. Rene M.

Nothing many other apps don’t do. Like the title says. Nothing I have seen in this that I haven’t be able to do with many other free apps out there. These days too many apps try to get you to do an overpriced monthly subscription and honestly on a professional level this is clearly an over priced app. Compared to many apps similar to this one, in the past you would see 2.99- 10.99 one time purchase with ongoing updates. No offence to those who developed it but clearly, monthly based subscription, might as well get the adobe software that are far way better than this.

No Fuji love. Nice app but cannot read Fuji RAF files, such a shame..

Very good. Of the various editing apps that I have used over the years, this one is top of the list. It is easy to use. I recommend trying it if you are looking for an editing tool.

Great App. easy to use.

Masks shouldn’t be limited to Adjustments. Why are masks only available in the Adjustments tab? I would like to see them either made global or at the very least made available in the Color tab.

ridiculous. i cant even save my photos now without paying? bye!

Necessary compliment to Photos. Apple Photos plus Darkroom essentially adds up to Adobe Lightroom but with arguably better features for a fraction of the price, without a subscription. It's a bit of a glitchy app and support lags severely, but these problems don't generally hamper one's use of core features.

No dehaze?. Very good application but, I don’t understand why there’s no dehaze.

Finalement. Après avoir essayé RawPower, et un autre, et un autre, j'ai choisi Darkroom pour sa simplicité, la qualité des filtres, et les résultats sur les images RAW.

Amazing app but only available for rent/subscription.. Fantastic app for effects and treatments on photos and video. Unfortunately they have removed the purchase outright option.

Overall not bad. Cheaper than Lightroom, and has some cool features. Downside is it crashes often, and is missing some common sense options

Paid subscription now?. So for us who previously paid for the app now you decide to move us to a monthly paid subscription on top of what we paid? Not too sure I agree with that, even with the app being one of the best out there.

Amazing filters and tons of pro editing. I really like the fact you have so many editing option to choose from. You get so much to work with and play with! It is such a fun app and priced super fairly. I like it :)

Used to be good. Darkroom has been crashing frequently for many months, and at this point it is practically unusable. I am running the latest OS on a XR, which the app says it supports. This includes update 6.6.6.

Lacking tutorials for such steep price. I am cool to spend $120 on a photo editing app. However, I would like to know if it is worth it. Since the non paid app cannot save, I don’t know why the dev wouldn’t just open the entire app. Offer newbies step by step guides on using the app to enhance different types of pictures. Now I have to search on YT to see if there r tutorials on this. Like other have said, can’t devs learn from Procreate pricing?

Cost 1.29. Then pay more. So I paid 1.29 for this... just to find out I'd need to drop another 6$ just to use the curves feature.

👍🏾. I started using the app, and it’s great!

Overpriced. Just when you thought a developer couldn’t get any greedier. I was ready to drop 60-70$ to purchase forever...to my surprise they jacked up the price to 105$... I don’t see how you can justify the price increase. There are still so many tools missing. Will definitely never buy this app. Stick to the free version and editing everything else on other apps.

Amazing!. Holding off for a couple years to get the full version. When I finally did buy it, no regrets.

Bait-and-switch app... Curves and Color Tools are locked. I don't appreciate it when developers lie about app specifications. It's FALSE ADVERTISING. Apple should be more strict about this. Update: thanks for updating the description and changing app tag to "in-app purchases"

Quick, easy. Quick, easy and excellent editing without hugh cost. Even if you use a big powerful editor this is an excellent back up. I tried the yearly subscription and upgraded to lifetime.

export problem. Everytime i want to export photo to external drive, it only works the first time, then when I try with other pictures, it still exports the first picture. Otherwise, great app. Mac 12.6.7 Happy to update review if I am missing something or if updated.

The Latest Update Rocks!. Darkroom’s latest update (6.2) has brought me back to using it full time. I have a LOT of photography apps on my iPhone and Darkroom’s new shadow recovery abilities along with its already in place iCloud Photo Library integration has made it an easy decision to use it as my default editor. I love the way it renders my ProRAW files from my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Greg McMillan - The iPhoneography Podcast

Meh. Expensive and you seem to have a horrible customer service attitude from what I’ve heard won’t be recommending this “ app “

Easy to work with. One of those apps that does what it says in the description. Easy and amazing to use

CATASTROPHIQUE. Bonne application mais énormément de bug DOMMAGE

Still a great app. Still a good quality app for in the fly photo edits and touch ups. Other apps may have more features but definitely can’t complain about my experience with this app

New features forced to use Darkroom+. I used to think this app was amazing because of the lack of subscription model and simplistic raw editing capabilities. I actually purchased this app in 2018 when it was a one time payment. The devs had initially allowed those users to gain access to premium features without having to subscribe. It now seems that a subscription is needed to access all new features. At this point it just makes more sense to move back to Lightroom. The performance of this app generally is pretty slow compared to LR, as it really doesn’t like to access fuji raw files from the xt-1. The app just crashes now — even snapseed does a better job. After years of requesting better whitebalance control - it still hasn’t come. It simply doesn’t make sense to stick around if these features are paywalled behind an obviously bloated app.

How much is subscription. How much is subscription

Absolutely phenomenal!!!. This is so fluid and well thought out. What an absolutely phenomenal program, I'm jealous of the brilliance of minds who created this!!!

So much power in a simple tool. After watching some videos to understand image concepts and how to manipulate them, Darkroom allowed me to transformmy photos to how I want them to look.

Great interface and powerful features. Have been using Darkroom for a few years now and love it! Perfect for raw post processing! Everything is intuitive and requires no training, this is my kind of software! You will not be disappointed!

Idéalement. Bonjour, S’il y avait un outil de clonage ce serait génial. Merci beaucoup René Marquis

Go to app- please add lens distortion tools!. I love this app. Really easy to go. The only thing that it’s missing that would make it perfect is a tool for correcting lens/ barrel distortion. Please add!!

It's not free like the category suggests. Even in the official website the cost of the app is pretty hidden.

Another subscription play. Those of us who bought Darkroom for about $20 are now asked to subscribe for $50 year. To buy is $99. Guy, we already bought Darkroom. Why should we give you 5x morr to finance your expensive lifestyle or trust you not to retire Darkroom? Good software with iPhone RAW. Pretty awful with DSLR images. For camera images, RAW Power is better, but interface of Darkroom is much better in iPhone. iPad is a tie.

Features are good but very buggy. Feature wise and UI this is 5 star. Amazing. However, if you use this regularly you will deal with bugs often. Now it seems to fail loading photos until it is uninstalled and reinstalled. Any app that needs to be repeatedly reinstalled gets a 1-star.

Please answer these 2 questions. I have 2 questions. 1.Can you edit hidden photos and videos 2.Can you improve the quality of the photos and videos to example 1080p or 720p,if so how

The best photo editor for the Apple ecosystem. I was tired of constantly downloading and uploading photos from other apps. Darkroom works across all devices and i never have to worry about workflow.

BOO Darkroom. My Subscription runs out in December I Do NOT wish to renew Why do you people make it so damn difficullt

$10 app with a $70 price tag. I don’t know where all these developers get off charging full pc editing software prices for an app with 1/10th the features and/or use greedy Adobe style subscriptions. Everything in this app are available in free/cheaper apps that are comparable quality. What a waste.

Good but not great. It’s a good free version but it could be better. I recommend for beginner photographers who need to edit but you’ll probably need another app for professional work.

Subscription ripoff is killing IOS. Subscription ripoff OR Incredibly overpriced one time fee. This subscription model will ultimately kill Apple and its App Store. Only 5 bucks better than iOS camera editor. DELETE

Best Quick Edit and Adobe alternative. This app is legitimately my favorite app because it is extremely powerful even on my MacBook Air and IPad. Price is extremely reasonable I got a year of pro for $20 now you can get pro for life for $50 which I think is an incredible deal. They are constantly fixing bugs and adding new features, If you want a cheap entry into high level Photography this app is it.

Exactly what I needed and more - Unbelievable software. This app is amazing! By far, the best photo and video editor. To get the full experience of its awesomeness, you will have to purchase the subscription - but it's worth it! I downloaded this app based on a recommendation of a friend/neighboor. But, I have enjoyed it so much and recevied some compliments about my images that I also started using it on a couple of projects at work.

Love this app but it crashes all the time!. I have been using the free version of Darkroom on my phone then I had a large project come up that required me to have an editing app. This one was best because I can apply edits to several pictures and it is easy to use. I downloaded it on my mac and it started crashing but I thought it was because I did not update. I updated then I paid the $75 to have the subscription but I cant even use the app. I just removed it then redownloaded it to see if that would help but when I opened it again it immediately crashed. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this app even though I love it because I simply cannot use it.

What’s the subscription price.. I love this app, and would like to use it better, perhaps with some explanations like what is a histogram and how do I use it? However when asked if I wanted to subscribe, there was no price listed, or how often....I have often gotten rid of programs that charge more than once a year, as they can often mess up bank accounts.... Also there was no explanation as to the difference for subscription or not... please respond, as I really don’t want to get rid of/ or loose this program....thank you

Be careful, these guys lie if it benefits them. Supported them for years, told everyone under the sun to get this app, I bought every in app purchases they offered without even blinking. Then they switched to subscription and told me I was grandfathered in forever with all new features that come out as a thank you for being there since the beginning. Which I thought was such a smart way to handle a difficult transition. Fast forward to now and they’ve changed their minds - no longer get any features despite them telling me I would. And now I have tons of features taking up space on my my paid app that I can’t use.

Newbie here. Newbie here, so far loving this app. It is not hard to learn after some tinkering around and after a few google searches on basics of photo editing. Even without that the layout of the app is simple enough that youll start figuring it out quickly. Things get more xciting after u sub to a monthly. But not a must for basic stuff. Making my own wallpapers here:D Thank you developer!

KEEPS CRASHING WHILE EXPORTING. I have been using Darkroom professionally for over a year now and it’s been one of the best apps to edit photos. I even bought Darkroom+ to edit my videos. Since two months ago, an update caused the app to crash every time I tried to export it. Both on my iPad and iPhone. I emailed the developers and their response was they will investigate and release an update to fix it.

Sets you up for a $20 subscription fee before trying it.. So this app is “free”? Not! You download and open the app and immediately get a screen that says you get one week free and you have to choose some sort of subscription fee before you can even open it the first time. I hate companies that try to force me into agreeing to a subscription before even trying the app. Then I have to remember to delete it or stop payment or maybe fight with the company because they are charging me for something I do not want? Nope. Not. Worth. That. Kind. Of. Hassle. Sticking with Pixelmator Pro. One fee, all features available. No hassle.

needs some crucial settings. love this app, been suscribed for many years. Now that i have a mac i wanted to start editing it from here but i was dissapointed when i couldn't find my own presets that i have been saving in the iphone app. Also the last time i switched iphones i ended up losing all my presets. That was a big bummer for me because i had been using this app almost on a daily basis when i was traveling and editing pictures from my phone. Yes i now back them up but i still can't transfer my filters onto the mac app.

Easily my favorite editing app. I love this app. Editing pictures has been made so simple with this app and still with so many amazing features. I only have one problem and it’s just been since the last update the app won’t open for me and crashes. And just saying I would even wait a month for that to be fixed be up this app truly is that useful and great. Side note- the phone I have that I’ve experienced it crashing on is the iPhone 11. Not sure if that helps any

Mixed review - not impressed. As a long time Lightroom and Snapseed user I thought I’d give Darkroom a try out. Not so impressed. I loaded the app on my IPAD 6th gen and some images won’t load or the image turns black after loading. I uninstalled and reloaded. Same thing. I tried it on my iPad mini and iPhone and it seems to work. Don’t know why that is. Anyway, it was worth a try. Totally not impressed. Don’t know how this got to be an editors choice. 😡

Seems like a good App but keeps exiting.. Downloaded a day ago and for a mobile photo editing App it seems pretty good for what it is designed for. My problem as of now it the App will exit (close out) in the middle of editing. This is happening pretty often...like 3 out of 5 edits. I'm running the App on a iPhone 7+ with the latest iOS updates. I hope this is resolvable with an update. As of now I won't use the App as much as I had hope too. Once resolved I certainly will. I gave 3 stars because of the unexpected exiting of the App. The features and what it can do is 5 stars.

Latest release keeps crashing. This has been a great app for the last couple of years. However, the latest release keeps crashing on me every time I try to save or save a copy for my updated photos. I’ve sent 2 or 3 messages to the support team, but have not received a response from them. I guess they aren’t too focused on users issues? Not sure if I have to wait till the next release to get the crash issue resolved. If that is the case, this app is pretty much useless at this time. Anyway, this is a great app…when it works.

Slow and Crashes all the Time. Got this because my old favorite photo editor made all the best features paid only. I might have to go back because this doesn't actually offer anything more, (at least for the free version), and because it crashes all the time. It's incredibly slow, I can't import more than 4 photos at a time without it going completely unresponsive. Sometimes in the middle of editing, it just completely stops working and takes a few minutes to suddently start again. I have to export one photo at a time to keep it from crashing again. I've updated it, updated my computer, closed all other apps when its running--nothing works. Would not recommend.

Not sure why it took me so long.... I was using Snapseed as my primary editing app. This one was on the side. Woth Afterlight2. I own all three(Snapseed from the times it was a paid app) and I bought darkroom last. Now it is next to Snapseed on my main screen as the go to app. What it severely misses is the perspective tool from SS and the ability to fast apply the previous edits. It is a bit clunky at this point. The rest is epic. Batch editing, exporting as well as the ability to delete unwanted photos from the app itself. Love it. Max

Great on iPhone—iPad support?. I really enjoy using Darkroom to edit photos quickly on my phone, but I sometimes like to take all my photos from the day and edit them on my iPad. Darkroom could be really awesome on the iPad, too, but all we have access to for the moment is a scaled-up version of the phone interface, which is less than ideal. The larger screen of the iPad makes more precise editing possible, so it’s a shame I have to use different apps on each platform to take advantage of it.

My heart.. This app and halide are the only ones i use regardless of any other editing app being in my phone. darkroom has major flexibility for it only to be a phone app. it's a must have so i purchased it forever because, why not? it's not only a mesmerizing app, but it's a great tool for editing pictures and also color coding. thank you, darkroom for giving me the opportunity to own this forever. i'll always and forever show my support towards you guys. : )

Legacy user with NO need for subscription. App used to be good for early adopters who supported their development. Since a year ago they decided to "upgrade" this particular app instead of abandoning it like others do for the 2.0 version. I only need basic features so the subscription model is something I won't subscribe to. It is bad business to change an existing app to this subscription model. Like I said, the 2.0 version should have been it's own app. I have moved on to GIMP on my pc. Goodbye and good luck. Hopefully, other early adopters who were screwed by the developer don't subscribe and the loss of business hurts them. I will not support any apps from this developer again.

Love Darkroom. I’ve been using this app for around 4 ish years now and I absolutely love this app! I prefer to use this app more than Lightroom! I’ve never had to deal with an issue/bug and I hope that Darkroom team continues to provide an outstanding app. Unfortunately, today I found a serious issue/bug and I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem. It seems that when I try to export a photo I edited to my phone (iPhone 12 pro max). It won’t export, it says it’s exporting but than the app crashes

Darkrom and Video editing. Darkroom seems to have some great abilities, I have only been using for 15 minutes, I am a Photoshop user from 1990 and very familiar with that, so the controls are sure different, but easy for an old guy to understand. Unfortunately, I thought I woud be able to edit my videos as far as cutting out parts...guess I need another type software eh? Bottom line, it seems to being some great manipulation of the images as far as color, contrast, sharpness, and frame shape......will get into the fades and vignetts later....Paul

Great Interface, Lacking in features. I’ll start by saying that this is a very well designed app. If you’re looking for quick photo editing with some creative control this definitely could work for you. However both HSL and Curves editing are accessible only through an in app purchase. The same functionality I have to say is, unfortunately for these devs, available free with Lightroom CC mobile. I also found minute changes to things like temperature or exposures difficult. While this won’t become my go-to mobile photography editor, it certainly is worth checking out for its interface.

Thank you Darkroom for a one time buy option!. Bought the entire App on a full purchase and the developers are doing a great job. All I could ask for would be a brush function to apply effects to selected areas. Such a major update I think would deserve a extra purchase and I would gladly pay more for a non subscription buy. Keep up the good work people!

Amazing app.. I am a long term user of Lightroom, Photoshop, Pixelmator, and Pixelmator Pro. Each of those apps is part of my workflow on desktop. But Darkroom has become the only necessary app for my iPhone editing. It is *so* fast, *so* stable, *so* easy to use, and so incredibly beautiful ... I cannot recommend this app enough. I learned about this app from the AppStories podcast interview. I ended up paying the $50 for the lifetime unlock. It was worth it!

Regrets. I regret buying this app. It worked okay at first, but now I have to close and restart this app after every photo I edit. It may be an issue caused by a recent update. After I finish making adjustments to one photo, when I move on to the next, this app stops working. I contacted the developers feedback mail group for troubleshooting these issue a couple times and even sent a video of the problem I’m running into. But no response yet and it’s been a couple weeks now since I sent my initial request for help. Unless they fix this issue, I highly recommend going with a different photo editing app.

Intuitive layout, but..... This app is basically lightroom- but you have to pay for it. Imho the layout is easier to navigate, so if you think that's worth the money, go for it. Idk if this app exports at a higher resolution than other apps, but it's basically VSCO and Lightroom CC mobile combined. When I tried using the filters for free, the app crashed each time. Not sure if that's bc of my phone or the app, but it's weird that it crashed whenever I went to the filter section? I want to try the RAW exposure but I havent been able to import RAW files yet. Maybe that makes the app worth it?

great app. a couple of requests.. The application is great. I will recommend it. There a couple of requests, though, I would like you to consider for upcoming updates with the application; 1) support for working with an external monitor. And I am not only referring to be able to see what you added an external big screen, but also I am referring to getting a clean feed to the monitor, so to be able to proof with that calibrated monitor in a specific color profile. 2) masks.

Good but not great...yet.. Darkroom has everything I need - the only problem is it crashes very predictably. Every RAW image taken on my iPhone Xs Max will crash Darkroom on my iPad Pro 11 when I try to sharpen the image more than 50% at once. The settings are still saved, thank goodness, but it's still annoying since I have to go back and find the image I was working with. My solution is to change the sharpening some, close the image, then do it again and again until I get it where I want. There are a few other tools that do this, but sharpening is the most consistent and frustrating. Please fix this!

Never mind..... Well, you got me — or actually you didn’t. I had recently found this app and was on the verge of buying... so I downloaded the latest update, only to discover it switched to a subscription — and I didn’t see that advertised anywhere before downloading. But shame on me. Still, I am amazed that so many app developers think nothing of isolating their users to squeeze more cash out of a ever dwindling minority of them. Whatever — good luck, but I (and I suspect a whole lot of others) are out. Sure, one subscription won’t break the bank, but we are dealing with literally dozens upon dozens now, and that just isn’t feasible. Apple, you are letting (or forcing) the iOS ecosystem to collapse!

Impressed. Very impressed with this latest release. Tools are powerful yet easily accessible, and the latest UI skin shows a lot of attention to detail, with a few minor exceptions. The export menu is well crafted, with semi translucent dark background, nice typography, etc. However, there are a few menus, such as aspect, border and favorites, that unfortunately use the default grey iOS of old. Would be nice if these were updated to match the rest of the apps look and feel. A nitpick for sure, and certainly does not detract from the remainder of this excellent app

Best App Ever!. I would say this is the best editing app I have gotten. All of the other ones are bad because the don’t give you many options unless you purchase them. This app though has many options even though you do t purchase the full pack. I purchased the full pack and it is by far better if you do that. I would say that the only downside is that the cropping to is very hard to use and I crop a lot in my photos.

love the app, one nitpick. First the nitpick - on my 12” ipad pro (m1) - the app will not output properly via the hdmi adapter. It just shows the oldest photos in my library and doesn’t do anything else. No clue why… Outside of that, it’s great. Easy to grasp if you’re just getting into digital photography, and plenty of advanced features as you get further along. So overall love it, and no regrets paying for the full version. Just that one nitpick (for a specific use in my case)

I actually want to edit photos. I've never enjoyed the process of editing photos, but Darkroom is so enjoyable to use, the developers' thoughtfulness and consideration comes through in every interaction, I actually look forward to editing photos after a trip or walk outside. Cannot sing the app's praises enough. Anyone who does any editing on mobile needs to try this app, you won't regret it.

Long layover. I’m sitting in an airport in Mexico I have a four hour layover actually it’s more like a delay. I started tinkering around with my phone And shopping some of my shots. I have used several different photo apps primarily Snapseed and iPhone’s, but I have to say I’ve been playing around with this app and I am absolutely loving it! It’s super easy has lots of interesting features and I’m just getting started😂😂

Fun app. I like this app for doing quick changes to a photo the fact that it will link and send right to Instagram and other sites is nice. The things I would like to see it do is allow you to pick just a certain spot on the photo to change and a little more control over whites. We do a lot of outdoor waterfall, lake, ocean etc shots. I would like to be able to just take a section of a bush and change to colors on it like in Lightroom. Overall a great app that I use a lot.

Phenomenal Photo Editor. The best photo editing app for iOS. It’s not even close. They’ve taken pro editing tools (curves, HSL adjustments, etc.) and made them feel as if they were created on a phone first. It’s so clear that every little detail has been very carefully considered. The library view is excellent - so much better than having to import photos into the app. And the new frame tool is fantastic. Only one I know of that lets you create 4:5 frames.

Kind of disappointed in this app. This app is great in concept but not in use. It can crop and edit some basic things like saturation or color. When it comes to things like masking or multi part edits I get a lot of bugs and the app seems to glitch and freak out. I have had everything from an unresponsive mask to frozen screen or masks that are the inverse of how I set them. There is also no masking brush for masking specific parts of an image. It seems darkroom has an all or nothing approach in regard to this. I would also like to see the ability to use or add our own presets using LUT or .cube files.

Only one complaint... This app is amazing. Plenty of options to quickly make your photo look like it was taken and edited by a professional. My only complaint is that now I have to pay to get the features i once had for free... I was going to rate this app 4/5 for that reason... however it's not your guys' fault I'm a cheap 'you-know-what' lol. The price is fair, would be worth every penny. I'm just not in the position to be spending money on applications.

Amazing Lightroom alternative. I’ve been using this app for a little bit now, and I’m already loving it. The simplistic design, along with having all your photos already there for you to edit, make it an incredible experience I would recommend to any mobil enthusiast. I cannot wait for more features to release, and would highly recommend unlocking all the features to truly use it at it’s potential.

The Best 💯. Honestly one of the best photo-editing apps out there. I’ve been using Darkroom for about a good 4 years now and never once had any complaints. I mean yeah, a few bugs here and there, but they were fixed in less than a day which is really amazing. You can’t go wrong with Darkroom. Even if you use other photo-editing apps, having Darkroom is a good foundation for the others to rely on. A++

My Favorite Image and Video Editor in 2022. Simple, unified interface, integrated functionality and growing features...and it keeps getting better. Love it. Latest updates bring Masking capbility...which i love with the AI-enabled foreground/background and subject selection. That's sweet. I hope it can be enhanced to enable mask painting soon... also hoping to have the ability to build hdr images from raw photos soon. It always gets my 5 stars so i hope this will be the trend. This is one App i've never regretted buying.

Still buggy all the time. I love Darkroom and I will continue to try using it but for years now it’s just been little bugs all the time. It’s hard to point out specific things because it seems like it’s always different, but edits not loading when I open a picture and changes not showing when I move a slider are two of the most basic and most frustrating. I wish they would slow down a bit on new features and focus on stability.

So many crashes and bugs. This would be a great alternative to Lightroom if it can get two things right. I'm using an M1 Pro MacBook. 16gb of RAM. Not the top of the line, but it should be more than enough to edit a few photos. It crashes every time I import raw photos into the app. The buttons to "install" presets from the community do not work. I press them and nothing happens, as if it is not even a button. For the price, I would expect it to at least work with minimal bugs. But these two things are pretty substantial. I will regret my purchase for Darkroom if these issues are not fixed soon.

Trouble loading images. Using Halide + Darkroom workflow and it’s gone downhill rapidly. When editing in Darkroom, the imported pics sometimes won’t load. If you do get them to load and start editing it sometimes hangs. If it hangs, your halfway edited photos become a jumbled mess. Killing the app and restarting is no help. Choosing a different image is no help. App is unusable. Also, two updates ago you broke the tap target for the top left grab point when adjusting the image size. You have to grab well inside the corner to more it. I’m glad I only subscribed for a year because this isn’t working right now.

FAVORITE EDITING APP OF ALL TIME. The simplest most advanced image editing app on the App Store without a doubt, you won't be disappointed! The create custom filter option is so important for creating an all around cohesive aesthetic for your blog/instagram! Responsive team behind the app as well On dec 8th 2018 I sent an email explaining how important it would mean to me if darkroom came to the iPad! And not even 10 DAYS LATER, sure enough an update supporting iPad was released! Thank you guys, Keep up the AMAZING WORK!

Terrible app/business model/don’t waste your time. This app uses the now ubiquitous “charge for every feature" model and that Isashame. The developer had responded saying they allow you to use all the pro features so it really is a "try it for free" app, I say that’s not accurate. Unless your workflow is done entirely on your phone then maybe you can get a solid feel for it, but I don’t trust edit until I’ve examined them on a monitor. YOU CANT EXPORT/SAVE A SINGLE PHOTO IF IT USES EVEN A SINGLE “PROFESSIONAL” feature So yea, you can “try” it, good luck getting a solid feel for whether the results are worth paying for when you can’t even export a file to evaluate the results

Solid RAW editor, but missing some essential features. I’ve been using Dark Room since it was first released. At first it seemed like a novelty, editing RAW files on an iPhone?! The app has made incredible leaps since then, I especially like the ability to edit the foreground and background separately when a depth mask is found in the photo. It’s great to see features like this, I’ve yet to find one in competing products. But the lack of a white balance tool means I can’t start my editing with Dark Room. That’s table stakes for a RAW editor, it’s omission is still a head scratcher to me.

WOW!. This latest update was amazing. It didnt take me long to decide to buy it outright. Pretty blown away by the reworked sliders. Thank you for all of the hard work! Perhaps down the road, we can have a healing tool incorporated into this. Also perhaps, the ability to import LUTS as well. However, the more that I look at this, this is what the presets are doing. I love the community aspect of the ability to share presets as well. It would be nice to have a forum where we can share etc. Thanks again! Game changer. D-

Needs shareable filters and layers!. Darkroom is powerful, but I wish it would do at least six more things.  First, the ability to share custom/modified filters. Second, the ability to use layers. Third, import images from third-party photo services like Unsplash or Pixabay. Fourth, film effects like dust & scratches, light leaks, glitches, etc. Fifth, post planner. Sixth, background images, patterns, and customizable colors for frames.  I would like Darkroom to be my all-in-one tool for editing, embellishing, and socializing my photography! Please make it happen!

So far so good. Just wanted an app to crop some pics for something I’m working on but I’m not a professional photographer or anything like that so didn’t want to have to buy a subscription for an app I’m only going to use a handful of times and so far it’s letting me do my thing without paying it just from time to time will have a pop up to try a free subscription and I’m perfectly ok with that so 5 stars for me.

4 stars for feature set, but buggy. The addition of selective editing via intelligent masks is really well done. I wish there was a bit more customization though. The tools and integration with iOS Photos is great. However, I’ve noticed a lot of bugs lately. It’ll take awhile to open/load the photo and often display it incorrectly. One time I pasted some edits to a photo and it went nuts and started pasting to other photos. Lots of annoying bugs, but I’ll deal with them for now.
