Love the app but no way to contact if needed. I love the app and got it on my daughter’s phone so she can work on verse memorization and we can connect and work on them together. I haven’t used mine in awhile and lost the ability to change bible versions. I went to restore my purchase and I get a pop up that says restoring purchases but nothing happens. I canceled my subscription thinking I can repurchase it and there is a problem. I do appreciate that if you had a subscription and cancel and sign back up, it won’t allow you to so your not paying $10 for the year instead of the $5 but I would really appreciate it if I can get my purchase to restore. I really love the app and need to get back into memorizing scripture again but I can’t at the moment.

It’s ok. I purchased the pro versus only for the app to not allow me to complete a verse I’ve already memorized. The speak out beta option (which is necessary for the completion of the memorization of the verse) doesn’t understand certain words and I actually speak great English fluently with a slight Jersey accent. Anyway it’ll mark the word red sometime well after it was white and I’m a line past it. It’s extremely frustrating and super annoying as well as very discouraging seeing how it’s hard enough to stay encouraged and focused in memorizing scripture. I would’ve gave it 4 starts but I emailed a while back about this problem and never got a response. I’m so disappointed because I really felt this app was going to be great. I gave it 3 stars because it does help and all the other features work pretty well. Please 1. Fix the speak out beta or remove it all together & 2. Can we have an option to move the verse somewhere once WE have memorized it? Like in a memorized or completed folder?

Exactly what I’ve been looking for. Before I’ve tried to memorize scripture passages directly out of the Bible. Once I learned one or two verses in the Bible passage, I would move onto the other verses, then I would get frustrated for forgetting the earlier passages that I just had memorized earlier. This app makes it so easy. The games you play on this app help so much. All of them are amazing. I’ve already memorized several scripture passages very quickly. I’m so thankful for this app, and it is helping me grow closer to the Lord, as I am chewing on God’s word and have it in my heart more and more. Thank you Verses!

Great App. I really love this app. It's a great help in memorizing scripture and makes it fun to do. The only problem I have had is it has crashed at times, my verses sometimes disappear, and when I would try to start a group with people it wouldn’t work. I think some of this has been sorted out as I just redownloaded it on my new phone. I have no problem paying $7 for a Bible translation. Making something like this and keeping it up to date costs money, so if paying that money leads to better app support and features I’am for it. I can’t stress how helpful this app has been in memorizing scripture and $7 for a translation does not even compare to the value this app can add in your walk with Christ. If it helps you keep God’s word in your heart then you can’t put a price on it.

Potential but still not yet there. 1. It makes you practice far too many times before giving you credit for memorizing a verse 2. This is a phone app — there is no margin of error for typos and sticky fingers. It just marks you wrong and makes you practice over and over and over. It wasn’t a wrong choice - it was a typo! 3. There’s no levels. Maybe memorizing is my gift, but I find this app losing my interest because it makes me do the same thing 35 times. Geez, I already memorized it but the 7th try, stop making me do the same thing. Give me levels to move on when I’m ready. 4. It’s a great idea but needs much improvement. 5. The female voice reading the verses is more annoying than Siri 6. ****For $9.99 I expect a MUCH MUCH better app. **** 7. If this app were free, I’d give it a higher rating and not be bothered by the above issues. 8. No app developer even cares that I gave it * star rating

App worth paying for. This is the only app I have paid for and it has been worth every penny. It has really helped me memorize scripture this past year. I will most definitely be renewing next year. I really like the way that it starts me into memorization and helps me get it down pat. I wish that there was a matching feature for the verses that I memorizing to be sure I have the reference with the verse correct. My only suggestion is some kind of matching like game for references and first part of scripture. I have verses down after I get going, but need to work on reference with the verse. Thanks!

Absolute best (and man did I shop around). I lost track of how many similar apps I tried, and none of them can hold a candle to Verses. It's so simple, so neat, so well-organized, not overly-complicated or bogged-down with unnecessary bits and fluff. AND they even have the NKJV!! I absolutely love this app, thank you so much to the creators for not just making it but for making it so available. Doing God’s work 🙏 we all appreciate you. If you're looking for a memorization app, seriously, give this a try!! The trial is a whole 30 days and it's only a tiny one-time charge if you do decide you love it!!

I’m so thankful for this app. I want to give a huge thank to all the developers for this app. I’ve been wanting to memorize the scriptures better for a long time until I found this! It’s very effective to me! You guys had a great start on this app, and I know there’s more to explore and perfect. I just have some trouble with the “word bank” game. Is it possible to make it stay at the level where I’m at when I leave and come back for the same passage within the same day? I was at level 4 and I left the passage and it went back to level 1. I’m looking forward to more updates on this app. Thank the Lord for leading you into making this app and may the Lord bless you!

Love it so far but . . .. I really appreciate this app so far and did pay for the yearly. I plan on sharing and encouraging connecting with a few others to use this app for Bible memory. I would like to see more games and variations of practice tools. The biggest down fall so far and my only complaint is that the “Speak Out” game (which states it is Beta mind you) keeps dinging me for getting the passage wrong when I am saying the correct words. I have tried it out a few times and it seems to knock my progress back significantly and yes I double checked I wasn’t saying the passage incorrectly. I would love to see this game in a finalized state without the current bugs in the Beta version. Hopefully we can see these fixes and newer games sooner than later.

Changed the way I memorize (and my life). Thank you so much for this app!!! I have used it for years now, and it really has blessed me. I’ve always known that verse memorization is important, but I don’t always have my Bible with me. I’ve tried many other apps, but they simply are just too complicated. This app is exactly what I need. I just sit down for around 5-10 minutes everyday and practice a few verses. In a few months, I had the entire fifth chapter of Matthew memorized! Thank you again for this app. -NH For the app producers: Would you consider adding the original Greek and Hebrew versions of the text? Even if it is just the versions in the public domain. That would be great if so!

⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️. Five stars for sure, incredible app that challenges you to not only learn God’s Word, but to keep it hidden in your heart!! I have used this app to learn everything from memory verses to entire chapters by learning and memorizing sections and then using recall to put them all together. The new update looks great, and I love the flat fee for all Bible versions, however, I have not been able to use version 5 to learn scripture as it freezes immediately upon opening. This app has a great, innovative, and incredibly responsive team behind it, so still gets five stars because I trust that they’ll resolve the issue soon... but if you could fix it by 11a on Monday, I would really really appreciate it... trying to memorize James 1 by then😉

Generous. Generous generous, absolutely generous. Team, I know you will receive a lot of hate because you now offer a subscription model, but it’s only due to ignorance of the fact of how many hours it takes from highly skilled software developers to maintain an app. I will gladly take the pro subscription even if it didn’t have the free year. You guys rock! Most beautifully designed scripture memorization app. My top request on your website was adding creeds and catechisms, AND YOU LISTENED. Thank you so much! It seriously means the world to me! I pray that this update will enhance my ability to memorize things that will encourage my walk with the Lord. I pray those things will translate to me being able to better lead the people I’m in charge of leading. May the gospel be multiplied, may the kingdom advance and may your team be blessed! UPDATE: I’ve been more consistent than ever in memorizing scripture. And I even was able to convince a handful of friends to join. I love that you guys are actively developing this again :)

Like the app, could be better worth a couple tweaks. Been using this app for a week and already memorized an entire Psalm! Definitely looking forward to using this year. Two areas of feedback for the developers that would make the app better: 1. An option to say you made a typo for the Type-Out game (it’s really challenging to have zero typos in a longer passage—the psalm I have memorized has 22 verses, and while I know them, I’ve had to start the whole passage again and again until I’ve made zero typos). 2. Building on this, it would be great if there was a way to say you’ve already memorized the passage without having to practice until the circles load all the way. Some passages I’ve memorized in the past I would like to add to my dashboard and refresh, but I don’t want to spend a lot of time on them just to prove to the app that I already know them. Overall pleased with the concept and happy to pay the $5/year. Would love to see these things implemented though!

Really good!. I have been looking for a Bible memory app and it seems like Verses is one of the better ones. The number of ways to memorize a verse are helpful because they not only help in the different ways we memorize things, but they reinforce each other as well. A few things need improvement so be warned…. They have not fixed this in over two years. The speech to text function is wonky. I can say the same word over and over again but for some reason it doesn’t recognize the word I’m saying. For instance no matter how many times I try to say “entrust” (2 Tim. 2:2), the app doesn’t recognize the word. The other problem is when a verse has a dash the word right after won’t come up until you press the right key three or four times. So there are some verses you want to memorize that you will never complete fully. I was fine with it for awhile but it’s starting to annoy me, mainly that it hasn’t been fixed yet. Update: still waiting for the fix after a few years even though the developers reached out to let me know it was coming. Not sure if I’m going to keep subscribing now

Why go the way of login required?. I enjoyed this app and have really gone through a lot of verses. Then an update came that requires you to login. I realize every app in the App Store is going the way of login required these days, but for what purpose? The claim is to backup data, connect with friends, and encourage one another on line. The real purpose is to track your data for sale back to Facebook and collect your information to sell to marketers and 3rd parties. I realize apps take money to make and update, but I’m fundamentally against this business model. I’d rather pay $5 even $10 for a really solid app that doesn’t nag me or sell my data. It’s clear the company is not interested in spreading God’s word, but keeping the cash flow high for as long as possible. I’m uninstalling this app and moving to a different bible memory app that doesn’t (yet) require you to login in. I mean really, just make it optional.

Been using for years still enjoying it. This was one of the first apps I got on my phone when I got a smartphone. Now many years later they have kept the same basic layout and if they have added new features they don’t overide the old ones which I am thankful for. A couple of suggestions that would make the app better is having an option of mixing word bank and type out. Words still disappear gradually and but you have no word bank and have type the the first letter of the word. Wether this could be a setting that one could turn on or off or a different game it would be a great addition. Another suggestion is after completing the 4 levels of word bank is to be able to go back and chose which level to do. It currently resets if you try a different game like type out. But say you feel like you need to go back to level four of word bank you have to start with level 1

Excellent tool for memorizing Scripture.. I have used this for a few weeks and find it a good tool to use. I use it 5 minutes a day. App uses listening, reading, speaking, putting verse in order, and 4 levels of fill in the blank. Did not give it a 5 star rating because the speaking out part does not work (although that could be my fault) and because when I’ve tried listening to the verse, it sounds a chopped robotic clip, much like the first gps units that came out a decade ago. And the pronunciation isn’t always correct. It’s a measured but not rhythmic audio. What I do like is the ordering, filling in blanks, and typing out features. You can choose your own verses to memorize or choose a collection. This tool also helps me to choose to memorize and facilitates daily activity.

You have to pay money to be successful...apparently. When my friend first told me about this app, I was so thrilled. I loved the motive and I couldn’t wait to get started...until I found out that it was only supporting KJV. KJV is one of the most DIFFICULT translations of the Bible. Why not NLT or NIV? One of those should be the default version. I understand that you guys have to pay your employees with the trials, but this is a cruel way to do it. I’ve seen the reviews...most people AREN’T thrilled with the KJV version. They, like me, would rather have a translation that’s easier to understand. The motive of this app was to make it easier to memorize verses...right? So how can we memorize verses if we can’t even understand the context in the first place? Seems like major hypocrisy. We shouldn’t have to pay monetary value for wanting to memorize God’s Word. Again, you guys had great motives but with a very poor execution. I’m so disappointed.

Awesome. Super awesome app! Only thing that’s kind of annoying is how the progress circle loads every single time you scroll past something you’ve memorized/are memorizing. I feel like once I have more scripture memorized, it’ll be really annoying to see those circles loading up every time as I scroll up and down. I think they should load when you scroll past them the first time, but once they’re off screen they should just continue holding that same progress value so they don’t have to reload when you scroll back up to them. Then when you make progress or lose progress, the meter will continue to track how it does, but those 3 circumstances (first time loading, improvement in performance, or decrease in performance) should be the only time a progress/health circle reloads.

Great Resource. Almost Fantastic!. This app is amazing and has great potential, but I’ll cut to the chase. The devs need income to continue developing the app and keep it on the App Store so they charge $5 a year for a subscription (that’s right under 1.4 cents a day). The subscription allows the user to use more translations of the Bible other than the KJV. (The KJV is the ONLY free version) I recommend giving a more modern, widely welcomed version out for free such as ESV, and make the others cost $5 a year. Yes there’s a 30 day free trial, but many people in my circle don’t want to worry about having to remember to dig in the iPhone settings and try and find how to cancel it if they don’t like the app. (Even though they would like the app) They sooner rather not try it at all. It’s been difficult to get friends on board to join my group when the free version is KJV because nobody in my circle wants to invest time into memorizing or sharing scripture including thee , Thou, or wilt with people. ESV or something more widely welcomed would make this app fantastic. Great memorization mechanics. Works VERY well.

Love this app except for the Speak Out. This app has been super helpful with keeping me accountable for scripture memorization. I love the different games and how the app keeps up with verses you haven’t practiced in awhile through the green inner circle. Overall, a wonderful app that I will keep using!! My only complaint is with the Speak Out feature which is supposed to allow you to speak the verse(s) into your phone to check for accuracy through Beta voice recognition. However, this feature does not seem to work properly. It gets overwhelmed by long passages as well as you speaking at normal speed. Even if I speak like a robot word by word (which takes a long time if it is a few verses), it will still mark words incorrectly that I am clearly saying or will lag and mark as incorrect because it cannot keep up. Would love to see this feature get updated in the future versions of the app because I think there is an advantage to speaking scripture out loud at certain times rather than typing. Still would highly recommend this app to friends wanting to memorize scripture more regularly!

Favorite Bible Memory App! :). Especially now with the update, this is my favorite Bible memory app! I love the lay out and features that other apps don’t have. I also think that for what you are getting, the price is much more reasonable than others. For example, the Scripture Typer app is $10 for the pro plus another $5 for any version than KJV, and doesn’t have as many “games” which causes me to get bored and not learn as well with no variation. I love how this app has various “games” such as reordering phrases and reveal (both of which are unique and I haven’t found in other apps). I also like the fill in the blank (which slowly get harder with increasing number of blanks!), audio, type out, and the ability to easily extend your verse selections and others. The only thing that confuses me for a bit was how to delete a collection. But I realized that once you have verses in a collection you can go to settings and the option to delete appears. To delete a verse you swipe it to the left for the option. I do love the collection feature to organize my verses. I currently don’t use this feature but hope to in the future, but I love the ability to have the small group feature! Thankful for this app. :)

Highly Recommended App for Scripture Memory. This is the app for Scripture memory I’ve been looking for since there have been apps. There are eight methods for reviewing/learning verses - all of which I’ve used through my years of memorizing Scripture. Some of the methods have multiple levels of difficulty. You can place verses in groups that YOU label (Beatitudes, Psalm 23, etc.) which is handy and keeps things organized. You can visually see your progress and memory “health” for each verse from the rings. The app has three Bible translations to choose from - NIV, ESV and KJV and so verses are very easy to add. But, this also means if you have a verse memorized in an older version or a different translation, you can’t really use the app for that verse. I am currently using the free version. This may not be an issue in the premium version. All in all, the best of the six or seven I’ve tried through the years.

Progress in Memorizing. This process helped me take hold of the importance of discipline and commitment towards personal responsibility for my own actions in every aspect of my life. Most specifically the importance of putting God’s Word into my daily life. Without His Word being built within me, it was impossible for me to walk in TRUTH, His TRUTH. A recent Scripture He has set into my heart of which I’ve prayed: Psalm 86:11-12 “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You O Lord my God, with all of my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore.” I’m reminded also of this Scripture, Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. This is I’ve begun to experience, the MEDITATION of His Word - day and night. What comfort, joy, assurance and peace this brings into my life! Thankful am I for this App which is helping me to achieve this goal - ‘PUTTING HIS WORD INTO MY HEART.’ In His Grace, Teddy

Have had this app long time, since the early days.. This app has changed a lot. It went from free, then, hey one-time buy the translation of the Bible you want to memorize for like 6 bucks (I don’t exactly remember long time ago). It changed again, perhaps somewhat recently it seems, to paying a yearly fee — but originally it was just a one time purchase for the translation (KJV was always free— good). And can now only memorize them if I continue to pay. I don’t like it when apps keep changing their policies on payments. — A different thing that is frustrating: one thing that I don’t like is that if you expand the verse (which is an option that is nice) to see the context of the verse. You cannot Undo it… which is annoying. Because it does not always mean the person is expanding it to memorize more of the verse. But wanting to expand out to reorient themselves ect. — But compared to other apps Is is great for mémorisation. The fill in the missing word option seems to work well— so does typing in just the first letter— as these are techniques folks use with good old pen & paper, & old tried and true ones.

Amazing!!! Room to Improve. This app is hands down the best scripture memory app I have found. The layout is awesome, it lets you organize categories of verses while also letting you see progress on all the verses you know. The recent update made it even better fixing some glitches and allowing you speak the verse as a game! It would still be awesome if they could develop a way to play from the laptop as well. I love that you guys take recommendation from users to vote for features this app has so much potential to get EVEN BETTER! Keep it up people!! This is such a great way technology is being used to glorify God and help his people remember the word.

Good!. I really enjoy using this app. I find it to be a refreshing break from scrolling through social media! I do, however, wish that the “levels” of different games that I unlock would stay unlocked once I reach them. For example, every time I open the app I have to start at word bank level one. Is there any way to make it so that it saves my progress/keeps levels available over multiple uses of the app? Update: turns out if you press and hold on the “word bank” option, the different levels pop up in an option bar! Though initially confusing, 5 stars!

Favorite Verse Memorization App!. I instantly liked this app from the user-friendliness, to simplicity of design, to creativity of learning styles, this app is the most helpful. I had struggled with the app crashing for the period pf a couple weeks and began looking for another option. However, finding no better alternative, I came back to this one. I hope they are able to continue support for this app, as I would rather pay to keep it running than lose the collections I have started and plan to continue adding to. Perhaps the greatest thing, besides the collected verses available to memorize, is the ability to look at each book and chapter of the Bible to see what you have learned and what is left to even be read! Very thankful for the developers and this app. 👍👍

VERY useful, but.... I really love using this app! It’s extremely helpful in my memorization of scripture, and I’ve been able to advance a lot in my use of this app! However, it is annoying that I can be using this app for thirty minutes, going through multiple different passages, and the app still won’t credit any of my work to my daily streak. Keeping my streak is a big motivator to studying, so it is demotivating when the app won’t give me credit in my streak even when I’m studying for a long time. This should work like Duolingo does where you can set a goal for how much you want to learn every day in order to keep your streak. Maybe a set amount of time or a set amount of passages studied? That would really help. I just don’t like feeling like I’m going to lose my streak even when I’ve been studying for thirty minutes. Thank you!

Five stars for sure! ✝️❤️💗💕💜🤍. I LOVE this app. I’ve always dreaded memorizing bible verses but this makes it a lot easier and actually fun! The strategies are great for memorizing and my favorite is the type out one because it helps it stick with me and get my brain going every day. This app has really helped me grow in my relationship with God. I have been applying verses to my everyday life now and for anybody in need of an uplifting verse or answer to a question and it’s especially good for sharing the gospel, I have it memorized and can say them on demand. The only thing I would change about this app is to make the other Bible versions free. Sometimes the New King James Version is a little difficult to understand or apply for me. But that is only a minor thing and overall, this app is amazing and is definitely recommended by me. God has gifted me with lots of knowledge and has brought me closer to him through this app so I would give it a try. May God bless you. I love you but God loves you even more!✝️❤️I’m praying for you no matter what you are going through 💗

Great app, great job.. Huge thanks to the developer(s) of this app. So many great ways to memorize Scripture, and I am happily paying $10 a year. If I can pay that for Netflix every month, I can pay that to memorize Gods word. I did notice on password reset, the email is very obviously dev-set-up like. Pretty cool you are using firebase, but might want to polish that up. Also, groups could use some ux work, kinda tricky figuring out how to navigate that area. (Eg inviting a friend creates a new group, the only way to delete a group is to leave it, and you leave it by clicking your name?) stuff like that. I’m sure you have many more great updates planned, keep up the great work, and thanks for using your skills to make such a great app for Gods people!

Wonderful App. Verse memorization is something I really struggled with and if I managed to memorize the verse, I couldn’t remember what verse it was. I tried writing verses over and over again im a notebook or even make note cards on Quizlet and nothing helped. With this app, I’ve been able to not only memorize the verse, but be able to test myself and view my level of memorization for any particular verse. I also love the community aspect that gives one a sense of accountability. This app has really helped and I will/have recommended this to many people who want to begin memorizing scripture.

Great start, could be better. I love how the app has me in the “memorization mindset” when approaching the Bible. There are just a few things that could be better . 1. The word bank game makes you start over at level one every time you leave the app which is frustrating because the intial level doesn’t even leave out keywords . It’ll leave out articles and conjunction words that are not vital to understanding the scripture . I feel like if I’ve left off on level 3, I should be able to start at level 3 when I return to the app. 2. The game where you’re hearing the scripture is not helpful. The woman’s voice sounds to robotic and unnatural to contribute to any type of learning and there is no way for you to control the speed at which she’s speaking the scripture. I wish the voice was an actual persons voice and I wish I could listen to the scriptures at a slower pace. 3. I wish there was a spaced repetition portion built in . That may be very helpful. Regardless of these issues, I continue to use the app because it actually helps with discipline and consistency. I just hope it continues to get better :)

I am memorizing like never before. Several passages that have been hard for me to memorize word for word are now locked in to my mind as a result of using this app. It was always hard for me to memorize short passages and the series of tasks the app takes me through made it possible le. Now I’m tackling longer passages and am very pleased to see how quickly I’m able to recall them. After spending time in the app getting the point I can type the passage out successfully, Memorized, I’m able to repeat the passage in my mind while going about my day, say it out loud, and consider the passage during times of prayer without having to pull out my phone or a Bible. I REALLY wish that it offered a newer Spanish translation such as Reina Valera Contemporanea.

So thankful to have found this app.. This app has been an amazing addition to my day. I have been memorizing Scripture for almost a year and a half now, and have been able to retain so much more than I ever thought possible. I love how this app structures the memorization process and how it tracks retention as well. The daily and weekly streaks have helped keep me accountable and my competitive side is greatly disappointed when I break a streak (I was up to 320ish days straight and missed a day that I thought I had done, so I am back to square one again!) I can’t recommend this app enough. I do also pay for the extra versions as I prefer to memorize Scripture in the ESV.

Great Memorization App. I don’t usually do these but I had to do a review for this app because I have really enjoyed it. It’s like a game for learning scripture and catechisms. I have benefitted greatly from it already and I hope to use it in the future. I’m working on the Westminster Shorter, I’m almost done, and hope to do the Larger next year. What a wonderful app and props to the developers for making it so user friendly. It is like they actually want you to learn it! I think they could even do some improvements on the catechisms, such as being able to test yourself by going straight through or by selecting certain questions you are struggling with, but like I said all in all it is a great app.

One of the better ones. I hunted around for a memorization app and tried a lot of them before settling on Verses. So many competing apps are (IMO) cheesy. A couple are better, but you’re forced to either pony up or endure constant nags and ads. For me, it came down to Verses and/or Remember Me. I prefer Verses’ interface. I like the ability to track my progress and ‘close my rings’. I generally avoid subscriptions but $5/year is pretty reasonable, I think. The app looks great and works pretty well. Criticisms: ‘speak out’ can be wonky. (To be fair, it wears a “beta” label too, so...) One of the verses I’m working on consistently tells me I’m getting it wrong when I use ‘speak out’, even though I’m reciting the verse exactly as it shows in the app. ‘Word bank’ also has a quirk - you really need to pay attention to whether words are capitalized or not. I’ve tapped on ‘The’ only to find that I’ve chosen the wrong word - it’s ‘the’ (or vice-versa). Nit-picky, I guess. Finally, I wish there were some way to manually enter a verse using a translation not offered by Verses. I’m usually fine with the NKJV, but occasionally use others for memorization (example: TPT, which is not one of the options offered.) Lastly, I live on my iPad and Verses does not natively support iPad, especially in landscape mode. All that having been said, I still find it well worth the $5/year for the help and encouragement it provides in getting me into the Word and getting the Word into me.

Perfect App for memorizing Verses!. This app helps me memorize verses easily! The different methods it uses are perfect to help me retain the verses. I can work on them wherever I go and have extra time. I can review ones I've already memorized. It's all around a great app. I highly recommend it. I'm in my early 60s and love that I can still learn more Scripture. PS. The last few months as my memorization has increased daily. The log isn’t working and not giving me credit for memorizing for over 5 minutes. That’s rather frustrating. I’m not memorizing for that reason but it does create an incentive to use the app every day. It keeps freezing and losing track of my daily work. What gives? Your updates say you have fixed the bug causing that issue but it still continues as of today, April 8, 2019. Please, fix this! It can’t be that challenging.

Great App but theirs just 2 suggestions. This app is a solid app. I have the subscription and it does a phenomenal job providing a few ways to study the Bible. I would rate this a 5/5 but I do have to recommendations and hopefully this helps the developers see my message. 1. It would be helpful in the “tap to reveal” feature if we could tap to remove the most recently revealed verse. So instead of having to go all the way to the end to start over and correct your mistake you can go back and immediately test yourself in doing that part correctly. At this time, I find myself having to create many 1-2 verses since it is faster to go back if I make a mistake. 2. If we could record our own voice instead of a robot read back the verses that would be a great feature. Instead of having our voices on a cloud, this feature could store our voices locally on our device so when we enter the app to use the listen feature we could hear ourselves. Just some ideas. Love this app.

What it worth to you?. I’ve had this app on my phone for almost 4 years now. The beginning stages were rough at times but the main pieces of the structure has always been EXTREMELY HELPFUL. Developer support has greatly helped push the app along since then, but know on the front side ITS A SUBSCRIPTION BASED SERVICE. Obviously, this is to help pay those who are keeping the app together. If you could’ve experienced the app before the subscription, trust me, how much better it flows now and syncs with other people is truly fantastic. This app has significantly impacted my ability to retain the truths of God’s word in my heart. If you’re at all considering, it’s worth your time and money, seriously.

App freezes?. I love this app! I got it almost a week ago as it was recommended by my District Superintendent’s wife. I was really enjoying learning the book of John in the KJV and decided I wanted to go ahead and pay the $5 or so to get the ESV to memorize that instead. So I did, however, now that I have, every time I open the app, the app freezes immediately upon opening. I can’t scroll up or down or click on anything. I’ve tried completely closing out of the app and reopening, I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling, I’ve tried rebooting my phone altogether, I’ve tried opening while connected to WiFi, I’ve tried opening it on airplane mode, I’ve tried opening it using data rather than WiFi, and nothing seems to be working. I really would like to keep using this app, but I honestly can not recommend it if it’s going to lock up as soon as you put money into it... Edit: I took my rating down to one star because there’s also no way to contact them for help about the issue. Hopefully this bug is fixed quickly or else they really shouldn’t even offer multiple versions...

Love it. I love this app it's such a gem. However, I got dinged when doing the wordbank challenge because I selected the non-capitalized word rather than the word without the capital letter. That's a bit much since this app is geared towards memorization. Also I was playing around the app (as anyone with a new "toy" would do) and I added a verse to a passage I'm learning. Now I cannot undo it or delete it and customer support's recommendation is just to learn the extra verse. I don't see why the option to delete a passage isn't available if a mistake is made. I can delete collections and should be able to deleted passages as well.

Enjoyable Way to Memorize Scripture. I rarely write reviews on apps, well actually... I’m not sure I’ve ever reviewed an app. However, this app is definitely worthy of my review! It has helped me quickly memorize, and maintain, 20/29 scriptures (so far) for the Navigators 2:7 series!! The verse cards were just eh for me, but this makes memorization enjoyable and capitalizes on my competitive spirit. If I happen to miss a day, it shows me. It was easy for me to misplace my notecards and miss several days at a time. But yeah... now I’ve always got my phone, and thus my memory verses! :-) I really appreciate the level at which you can customize based on what you wish to learn. If you are looking to learn single verses or a passage, it allows you to customize based on your desire. It also allows you to establish customizable “collections”. For instance, I have a collection of verses for each of the first 3 books in the 2:7 series. Overall, this app speeds my memorization of scripture and helps me maintain what I’ve learned. I strongly encourage you to put the discipline of scripture memorization into your daily routine using this app!

Disappointed. This used to be a fantastic resource and I gladly recommended it to many other people. Unfortunately, now that it has gone to a subscription only version, I can no longer do that. It is one thing to require an in app purchase of your favorite bible version (which I gladly did) but to require an ongoing subscription purchase is quite another. I’m just glad I was able to share this incredible app with many others before it went with the subscription model. It had made “hiding God’s Word in my heart” easy and fun. I had never been able to memorize scripture before, but with this app I was able to memorize whole books of the Bible and long passages as well. If you are willing to buy a subscription, this is still a great app, but many people I’ve talked with aren’t able to do that. I am sad about this change.

Efficient. Effective. Excellent.. Best app I’ve found to help me memorize Gods word. Simple method to choose verses I want to memorize, and it offers proven effective methods to help me accomplish memory work goals. Having so many options to use as I “study”keeps it interesting. It is easy to add to a passage when you have mastered a set of verses, and it gives recommendations about what method to use next. Even the visual accomplishment tracking is helpful. The free app version gives plenty, but if you need other options the app cost is very inexpensive. I find it a great help to hide Gods Truth in my heart!

Excellent. This is my favorite scripture memorizing app. The thing I love best about this app is that if you are memorizing a long scripture, for example a psalm you are memorizing, you add the psalm to your plan you can add each verse one by one, this helps you to know and remember where one verse ends and Tyne next one begins and for it makes it easier to remember. That is good to know, even if it’s just for yourself, I live Gods Word and for memorizing and practicing this has been the best app for me, I use the NKJV. For all the help I have received through this app for memorizing and use of the program I would give it a 10 + if I could

This is the best!. I’ve always said I’m just not gifted at memorizing scripture. This way WORKS! I’ve been using it since quarantine started in March 2020 and have used it on and off. I compared it to other apps similar before paying for this one’s full access and would do it again in a heartbeat! I love how it keeps track of all my verses to memorize and how I can have a subsection for verses I’m memorizing for my current Bible study. Thanks for making this! Oh, and I also love how I can choose from different versions... some verses I have saved as NIV, while the majority are in ESV... and I can keep them in the version I want (does that make sense? I don’t have to just pick one version forever in this app.)

Really awesome.. Really awesome app. Great thing with which to fill downtime and replace mindless browsing/gaming/fiddling on your phone with. They have topic based collections of scripture in which it provides you with a group of scripture to focus on memorizing, and you can also choose any verse out of the entire Bible you'd like to memorize and use several memory activities to help you. I've memorized scriptures in seconds, and I've memorized scriptures in days. Memory games are awesome quality. Varied enough that you don't get bored easily. The KJV is totally free, all other bible versions you have to pay between like 3 and 7 dollars for. My number could be a little off there. So, really good app- really grateful they made such a quality app totally free- awesome labor of faith and love right here. God Bless and keep the love!

Just a heads up...... I was curious about this app and downloaded it at the end of January to try the 30 day free trial. The app requires the user to set up an account, in order to try it. I wasn’t prepared to start yet and go through that process and figured the 30 day trial would start from the day I set up an account. Anyway, at the end of February, I was billed for the app. I sent a refund request to apple telling them I never used the app- never set up an account. They denied my request. A week later I tried to sign into the app, but since my account was never set up, it said there was a problem. I was disappointed and annoyed with the situation, and sent a screen shot to the app customer service explaining what happened on March 7th. I finally created an account figuring if I paid for it and can’t get a refund, I might as well give it a try. Since I only saw the KJV, I wasn’t really interested. Today (March 27th), the app customer service finally responded and checked in. They saw that I had created an account on 3/7 and wanted to make sure that I no longer saw the error message. I don’t. I have never tried this app, so it might be the best app in the world. But this disappointing situation makes me not want to use this app or support the people behind it.

Exactly what I needed!. I memorized a lot of scripture as a kid in church, but haven’t memorized very consistently as an adult. When I saw the ad for this app on Facebook, I decided to see if it would encourage me to memorize more. I have really enjoyed it so far. I am re-memorizing some longer passages that I memorized as a student, and starting some new ones as well. The games are really helpful, and I really like the way the “type out” feature works. You just provide the first letter and the app fills in the word. This has been especially helpful because I have memorized a lot of these passages in several different versions, so it’s easy to get the words mixed up a little bit.

Errors inhibiting completion. I use the speak out feature and it picks up the words correctly. However it marks the correct word as wrong and takes my completion back. Mark 9:23 starts with If (NIV) and while it shows “If” it lists it as red. The passage is below, correct but it marks it wrong.

Pretty good except for speech recognition. This is a clever app using little ‘games’ like reordering phrases and fill in the blank and quick typing. The games progress in difficulty and there is a little tracker to show progress. However the game requiring speech recognition is a bit off. It doesn’t recognise the words and then it registers as incorrect. This messes up your progress and makes you go backwards. It’s a bit annoying - something to consider with purchasing an app.

I wish I’d found this sooner.. I’ve absolutely loved using Verses. I’ve wanted to memorise more scripture for a while now, and Verses has helped me do that. It has helpful games and a really easy to use app, so I’ve really enjoyed being able to learn wherever.

Superior. Superior

Amazing need more free translations. It is an amazing app that has helped me memorize verses when I used to find it incredibly hard. Just wish it wasn’t $11 to buy another translation. Been able to memorize a verse but not in the translation my church and I commonly use.

Fantastic. Anyone trying to memorise scripture, this is a must!! Try the free KJV before you commit to buying another translation, you won't be disappointed.

New long awaited versions are here!!!!. This app beats the pants off the competition - I am sure you will agree once you try it out. Now having access to NKJV is game changer for me not to mention the additional extras now available. These guys/developers will get my annual subscription - great work and thank you for the most recent update.

Donna. I absolutely love this app! Memorised 10 verses in the past two days.

Really helpful!. This app is helping me to learn larger portions of the Bible, and it's fun! It is easy to use and effective. The developers also warmly receive (and reply promptly to!) suggestions, feedback and support questions. Fantastic!

Excellent!. Fantastic and engaging way to learn scripture. Thankful to God for this handy little app which has already been super helpful in getting the word into my head!

Great app. Awesome and helpful to memorise scriptures. More improvement needed like adding reminders, etc

Great stuff. I've used a heap of scripture memory apps. This is my absolute favourite. It is not without minor bugs, but definitely not any that inhibit the full use of the app. Developers are quick to reply to correspondence and app is always in a state of improvement. Definitely recommend to memorise God's Word.

Great for iPhone. I’ve just started using this app on my phone and it seems very good. Fantastic design and good interactive learning tools to help memorise scripture. Would love it if there was a iPad version.

Thank you for this app!. This app is just great! I have been having trouble memories Psalms. This is a big help! Please keep it maintained and God bless you!

Absolutely fantastic resource!. The Verses app has exceptionally helped me memorise scripture. The best part is how many scriptures I’ve been able to learn in such a short time because of it’s help. I honestly believe this app is fundamental for any Christian! I love it! 😍✝️😍

Tap to reveal. Tap to reveal is not working, please fix it.

Great App. Really enjoying this app; especially when I signed up for all the versions. I have a terrible memory and the different strategies for learning are excellent and mix it up a bit.

Excellent can even run offline in flight mode. During business trips, I can play with this as an alternative to your inflight magazine

Love it!. Have enjoyed the simple and fun approach to memorising scripture. Didn't think it would be as effective as it has been! Enjoying the different levels in the "games" meaning that it isn't too basic/ boring and particularly love the "collections" (groups of verse on a theme, really practical!)

Awesome app. Awesome app highly recommend. The main difference between paid and free is you can free user can only use kJV it $12 it well worth it if you want to put in the time to memorise stuff. I studied basics of memory in the past and the way the way the app works it looks to me like they done good erase history in to memory actually works. Thank you verses team.

Great app. But not enough translation.... Will use once you have Indonesian translation for Roman Catholic bible

Great. The app does what it says it does - help you memorise Scripture. If you use it regularly it will help you learn new verses and remember the ones you've already done. What would make it 5 stars? It would be great if there was a prompt reminding you to do it at whatever frequency you chose and similarly if it prompted you to review verses you hadn't done for a while. I would also love to see some suggested sets of verses to get you started - new Christians, focusing on grace, important verses in biblical theology perhaps, just some starting suggestions. But those things are extras - the app does the main thing very well.

Love this app - Person with bad memory. I’ve been using this app for less than a week and already love it. Have memorized more than I ever would have without it. But I just paid for the ESV translation and now the app won’t work! I’ve turned everything off and on and deleted and downloaded it again but it still doesn’t work. 😔 I ready miss it for my morning quiet time.

It's free, but wants you to give up your privacy.. After downloading and preparing to memorise, it asked me to logon or into something or somewhere. There is no offline option, tracking my memory progress is done by someone else, somewhere else out there on the web. Obviously MY iPad is not a suitable place to store MY score. So it's a big no thank you from me, before I even began.

I use this daily!. I would love to see an update on the beta speech to text feature soon please! It affects my memory scoring and I’m really motivated by completing the rings fully. A few words like accept or quarrelling I have said correctly but it does not process them. Thank you for this app!

An elegant app. I love this memory app. It is very nicely laid out, looks stylish, and has very effective memory games to help you learn and refresh verses. The two progress bars are a nice touch, as it tells you your furthest progress, as well as your current "memory health." There are still some improvements I would like to see though: more affordable options for alternate translations (it's hard to recommend to others when you know it'll cost them $10 to get their preferred version), and a few bugs need to be ironed out. But overall, this is exactly what I was looking for. I even paid the money for the ESV and I'm not sorry I did.

Brilliant update. Love the update, app’s better than ever boys 🤙

What happened?. I love this app, but am super frustrated, I can't leave collections I want to leave, and new collections randomly disappear. I've tried emailing multiple times with no response. What's the deal?

I love it!!!. Easy to use. Very intuitive.

Useful. Definitely a must have for those eager to memorize scripture nice helpful tools and games to help learn.

Not working & not providing support. I have loved this app, but it just has so many bugs and they don't seem to care. I have emailed and messaged on twitter multiple times asking for help and get ZERO response (other than one twitter message asking me to give my email address so they could look into it - I gave it and then received no follow up whatsoever). They really need to fix both their app and their customer support.

Love this, thank you.. Thank you for creating this app. It’s a blessing from God in this day and age to memorize, love, and cherish His Word in our hearts. 🙏

Great app. Very helpful! Thank you

Great app!. Multiple ways to memorise verses - very helpful!

Great app. Perfect, exactly what I was looking for it’s on my first page used daily!

Best Bible memory app!. Makes memorizing, organizing, and reviewing a breeze! Love it.

Best Bible memory app available!. This is the perfect app for anyone who is serious about memorizing scripture and who wants something better than the simplistic children's memory apps that are available. Outstanding product!

Huge RipOff. When I first got this app I was using ESV to memorize all of my verses, but now with the new update they make you pay for each translation you want. You only get KJV for free. I already paid for this app. I don't want to have to pay again so I can get back what I had before. I would not recommend this app.

Developer Contact Please.. I must have the opportunity to open this in landscape mode. Please help me.

Best App for Scripture Memory. I tried all the apps that came up when I searched Bible Memory and this is by far the best one. Best look and feel. Best memory games. Best trackers. I love that it tells you when you should go back to previous verses to make sure you still know them.

Makes scripture memorization fun!. Very easy and user friendly unlike some others I've tried using on the App Store. Makes memorization fun and the games seem to help me memorize faster. Just wish you could memorize other versions without paying. But other wise very good app!!

Love it!. Love this app! A way better use of spare time than social media

Love this. worth the money to get a new translation :)

Helping me memorize. So grateful for the verses app it has really helped me develop a consistent habit of memorization and review.

Great Fun. This app is the best Bible memory help I have ever found. I have found that it helps me memorize, meditate, and review. An excellent app.

Disappointed. I am so disappointed with this app. It has so many great features but it will not load at all on my phone.. and I just bought a new phone so I know it’s not that!

Awesome. Currently on a mission to memorizing proverbs. I 💖💜💙❤️ this app!!👌🏻God Bless!

Love it!. This app is amazing. Easy to use. My memory work has increased substantially. I use multiple times every day!

By far the best. You won't find a better app for memorizing scripture. Beautiful design, intuitive to use, and it actually works for getting and keeping scripture in your brain. I love being able to memorize with friends as well. Without hyperbole - I've been waiting for years for an app like this.

Love it - really helps. Has been great with helping me memorize Bible verses. Only complaint is that it does crash on me while I’m using it for a prolonged period.

Great app. Does what it says it does. Is stable. Helps memorize scripture. God bless the developers and see the use of the app increase to propagate his word in the hearts of those who seek him

Helpful. A helpful tool for memorizing scripture on the go! Thankful to have this app!

Awesome way to increase your memory and make it stick !. Great app , have always struggled with memory work. This has helped immensely! Thank you !

Please fix!!!!. I was really impressed until recent update. Can't create my own collections and can't delete previous ones made. Please fix because it has become so frustrating.

Awesome app. Awesome app. Fun way to learn scripture. They are working on adding more versions soon. Highly recommend!!!

Well done. This app has been well designed. It's easy to memorize Scripture just by playing the games, almost without thinking about it. Then you find yourself typing out the first, almost surprised that you already learned it! I just wish it were a little cheaper to get a preferred version of the Bible, especially when you can read them for online. I would like to memorize in the ESV, which is a free download for Kindle, but apparently not on here... But not a big deal. A small feature I would hope to have added at some point is to have little congratulatory bubbles pop up as you reach new achievement levels.

Now the only one I use.. I have a bunch of apps to memorize the Bible and this one is now the only one I use. It is simple, elegant and fun. I love that I can connect with my family and learn together. I will be adding clients to it as well to start their learning journey. One suggestion would be having a reminder built in. Now I just use my calendar. We just got it and my husband has already memorized half a chapter. Great app. Especially if you like the KJV. Recommend this to everyone.

Useful and cool!. Very useful app to get your verse memorization really going. Definately recommend making this a daily habit. The different games are very helpful and well thought-of! Thanks guys

Just What I Wanted!. I couldn't be more thrilled with this app. I had written out a few verses on cue cards but this is way better. Easy interface, multiple games and very useful.

LOVE IT. other than writing a sticky note and putting it on my mirror (which just plain doesn’t work) I had no idea how to go about memorising Scripture. this app makes it so easy and fun and I’m seeing real progress!! ❤️

Hope for more. I love this app. I love memorizing scripture. But I don't like that you have to buy another translation. Instead it's easier to keep the standard translation a better translation. I still don't know how to add people to this app, to grow accountability, so if I could do that, I would recommend this to many people. It would awesome to see my friends progress, but without Facebook. // I really want to be able to share this, and start scripture accountability and challenges for my friends, and students. Best app I've seen, and would love to use it in the future, but I can at the moment. Thanks. Keep pursuing.

Amazing Way to Memorize!. I have been trying to memorize more scripture for years and after finding this app, I finally am. For the first time in my life it’s actually sticking! I remember what I’ve learned and am reminded to review it often enough that I don’t lose what I’ve already learned. Thanks to this app I have memorized 10% of the Psalms and many other long scriptures through games, fill in the blank and typing out. My only complaint would be that I haven’t been able to get the “speak out” feature to work for me as it doesn’t pick up my words correctly no matter how clear or slow I try to say the verses. Overall I would definitely recommend this app if you’re looking to hide more scripture in your heart!

Almost perfect. I really like this app, and it is helping me memorize scripture. However since I am using the TMS method, there is no way for me to add a topic to the verse. In bible memory I am able to edit the verse and label it with a topic reference, I do not see the same option in this app. After I make my collection of verses I wish there was a way to additionally label them within a collection. Update: I found a way to categorize verses by topic. I still wish I could edit the verse and add that topic, so that I have to type in that topic as I am memorize the verse. As it stands right now, I am able to memorize the verse, but I cannot remember the topic it goes with.

Good app, but beta features need work. I enjoyed this app and use it daily but it’s impossible to get a “full score” on any verse. The beta features such as “Speak Out” simply don’t work. You’ll recite a verse perfectly but the app won’t hear you. It will then lower your score saying that you haven’t memorized the scripture correctly. A feature shouldn’t stay in Beta permanently. It needs to be improved upon. I want to recommend this app to others but until these issues and the like are cleared up I cannot recommend it just yet. I’m hoping to see some additional improvements this year.

Well done memorizer. It’s bothersome people leave bad reviews simply because a product costs money. Licensing isn’t free for translation work done by the collaborative effort of today’s biblical language experts. ESV on Kindle is $23 right now and Verses is selling a full offline version for $6. For how well polished this app is, to even offer a faithful (just not modern) and FULL translation such as the KJV is a great introduction to the app to decide on purchasing another translation. That aside, the games, progress wheels, and community tool for challenging friends are top notch. My only request is to add the Christian Standard Bible as the next translation.

Great Way To Memorize Scripture!. This is an amazing app and well worth the few bucks to get the different versions. I love the ways it employs different techniques to memorize: fill in the blank, reorder, reveal. I was using notecard (still do for extra help), but this has been so effective in helping me. We are given one offensive weapon in spiritual warfare: the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. How did Jesus combat the devil in the wilderness? Quoting scripture! Now you have a great tool to practice that effective tool. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the way of sinners...but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law, he meditates day and night” - Psalm 1:1-2 (ESV)

I love the different learning activities!. So glad I found this app! Although you probably have to pay $5 a year for the translation you want, that’s a pretty cheap price for a useful tool in helping memorize God’s word! I especially appreciate the variety of learning activities you can do - I think it helps me memorize better to learn the verse different ways (wordbank, typing, re-ordering). I did have a small bug pop up with one of the learning activities, but customer support was super responsive and said they are working on fixing the bug for the next update!

My mom has this and got it for me, but...😭. So my mom had subscribed to verses basic so we could have ESV. It worked on her phone, but I can only use the KJV (BAD) on my iPad because whenever we try to restore purchases it doesn’t do anything!I am really needing to memorize Galatians 5:16-6:10 witch is VERY long! The App would be great if you could just fix it! Please! It has been about five days and CLEARLY THE DEVELOPERS DO NOT LOOK AT THE REVIEWS!!! MAYBE I’ll use the app after it is fixed, but at this rate, it won’t be fixed. Thanks for nothing.

Poor customer support. This app was highly recommended to me by a friend. I downloaded it and really liked what I saw. I am wanting to use the NASB, so I purchased that version. It would not load in the app. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times, made sure my phone software is up to date, restarted my phone, and nothing has worked. When I open the app, I get a solid blue screen and it freezes there. I have tried emailing the developer several times for help, but have gotten no response that my email was even received. I would love to be able to use the app. But if it’s not going to work, I would at least like to get my money back. I hate to leave a 1-star rating, but I’m not sure how to get a response.

Awesome way to memorize Scripture!. I love this app! Just since loading it on Saturday, I’ve worked on 10 different verses and come back daily to maintain those verses. The fill in the blank levels are awesome...that’s exactly how I memorized them as a kid. I love reordering passages of scripture! I’m currently working on the whole chapter of Psalm 139. I’ve gotten vs1-10 down already. Type out was scary for me the first time, but then I realized it only wants you to type out the first letter of each word. I love everything about this app!

Wow. I have never realized how much of my heart was missing just day to day till I started to memorize scripture and remind myself through the day the Love that Jesus has bought for me through the cross. So many times the last week Satan has just been attacking and was scheming over my life but knowing scripture on my heart being able to quote God’s truth back to myself has been my source of life and filling my cup. Try this app for a week, I promise it’ll change every part of you and take you further down the path of righteousness.

Great idea, BUT.... Love this concept and tool and can’t wait to use it. But, have the developers ever tried to create a folder adding multiple verses by search. It’s the first thing you do on the app and it’s painful. Process. Type word in search bar. Look through verses. Add. Now...there’s absolutely no way to go back to the search page you were on. Start entire process over. SCROLLLLL down down down down down down to where you were. Add. Repeat. Repeat. Why in the world can a user bit just select the verses they want by tick mark and select “add these verses”? Or at least be able to click a back button ( Far less efficient, it better than current)? 😳

Terrible bible choice. First of all, the KJV is the hardest of all to read because it doesn’t use English we use today. “A cup of coffee” is expensive when taking into account the fact that they don’t have any good CATHOLIC versions of the Bible. I’m not going to pay for this “coffee” if it doesn’t have a complete bible in its options. Based on the other reviews, I’m glad I didn’t waste the $4.99 because people can’t even log into their subscriptions. Too bad, I was very excited to try such a revolutionary idea. I would donate the $4.99 or more likely $20 if the app were free and for people who don’t have a steady income. If you want to charge $5 to grow the faith and that’s your mission, start with a much better bible version. THAT will get people to join the app and start reading the Word God gave to us.

Needs Better iPad Compatability. This is one of my favorite Bible memorization tools. I have used a handful of websites and apps, but verses has risen above the rest. With a clean design, intuitive interface, and most importantly accurate text, Verses has helped me memorize Scripture quickly and easily. It makes you want to come back and study, even if only to see the circles filling. If there is any complaint, it would be to make the app more compatible with the iPad. When using a keyboard, the app will not rotate into landscape formatting, making it effectively unusable. It’s great in portrait mode on my iPhone, but trying to use it on my iPad with the large, on screen keyboard, it a non-starter.

Great app after trying several. After trying several apps, this one is a clear stand out for me. Some apps want you to use methods like listening as part of memorization. Since I principally use the app in the evenings, the audio would disturb family members. So I love that this app is completely flexible. You can use the audio, but don’t need to. The “word bank” has been surprisingly effective for me. This app is totally worth it and very inexpensive if you want all the features.

Get the APP. I have struggled with memorizing scripture and especially their addresses. With this app and it’s variety of methods I am finding it much easier to memorize and retain scripture. The app is very user friendly especially for a 50 plus year old lady, lol! I find myself going to this app before any of the games I typically play. It is enjoyable when it works for you and not against you. I love that I can categorize scripture such as those used for strength or healing, provision or wisdom, identity or maybe memory? LOL. Bottom line get the app you will love it!!!!

Why sign up for subscription if features are still unavailable???. After downloading I signed up for the Pro subscription with the one month free trial but am still unable to use any features outside of the KJV. I received confirmation email for my subscription and even when I go to settings and select Pro the App confirms I already have a pro subscription. But when I try to unlock other versions I’m prompted to subscribe. I have emailed developers to no avail. I do like the concept of the app but at this point due to this issue and the lack of response to this issue I’m on the verge of deleting and unsubscribing because I surely don’t want my trial to lapse and I end up paying for something I can’t even use.

Good app but needs work. The app is a great tool for learning Bible memory. Memorizing scripture is so important to me and I love memorizing new passages. Overall, this app is a really great tool for that, but it needs some updating. The software is often slow on the fill-in-the blank and typing tools, and I wouldn’t recommend using the “Speak Out” function until it has been improved because it is more frustrating than it is worth at the moment. However, I would recommend this app to anyone who is interested in doing scripture memorization (especially if you’re only planning on memorizing small chunks).

Concept is good, but.... The idea behind this app is awesome. It’s sleek and eye catching, making you actually want to study, but... who even uses the King James Version anymore?! The look of this app is drawing in the younger generations, but you only give the oldest version for free?! Seriously?! And there are WAY too many bad reviews about horrible customer service and glitches that never get fixed for me to pay that much to download another version. I like the app, but I’m going to delete it and use “Scripture Typer” instead. It has more of an older generation look to it, but it basically does the same thing without crashing and it has the option to choose different versions for free... sorry, not sorry.

I love Verses app. It really does help me to memorize Bible verses. I start with tap to reveal so I can read the verse. Then I do word bank levels 1-4 Then reorder which is just figuring out which phrase is first and then which phrase is next. Finally I do type out which is easy because you only have to type out the first letter of each word. I have not tried speak out yet. I have not tried to change Bible translations yet either. I’m using NLT the new living translation. May God bless you whether or not you buy the app.

Pursue Righteousness and Life. This is a great app and well worth the small yearly cost for the other translations and as support for the developers. I try to keep a streak going and have even have made iOS shortcuts with NFC stickers I tap with my phone here and there to make sure I spend at least 5 minutes a day in the app. There are so many other things we spend(waste) time on in a normal day, but writing the Word of God on your heart is of great reward. It’s never to late to start memorizing scripture alone or in a group and this app makes it easy.

Great app that delivers the goods. I just downloaded this app this morning, and it didn’t take me long to get attached to it. The layout is clean and intuitive, and the introductory prompts make assist in getting started right away. Within a few minutes, I had Isaiah 41:10 memorized. I was a little put out initially that one of the games included punctuation as part of the word (i.e., thee: vs. thee;), but after poking around in the settings, I found that the punctuation marks can be turned off — bonus! Great job to the developer(s) — keep up the great work!!

One of the better memorization apps. I’ve been searching for years for a decent memorization app. This app is one of the best! It still has a few minor issues (like the speak feature not always being accurate) and it does cost $ to unlock the full features of the app. Besides that, I’ve loved this app. Whether it’s playing with the different features, discovering new collections of verses, or organizing the books of the Bible, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, I think it’s worth the investment. Can’t put a price on memorizing the eternal word!

A MUST HAVE APP. This app is absolutely AMAZING!! I downloaded it because I wanted to memorize big passages and I could not have done it on my own! This app makes it fun and makes it stick in your brain! Now I have God’s living, breathing word with me wherever I go! You also can choose your favorite bible version and memorize from that and some versions cost money and I was scared at first but DON’T BE because it was well worth it and this is by far my favorite app to memorize scripture!! Also if you’re a little OCD like me, you’ll love the format... it’s super organized!

Jesus > Business. I liked the idea when I saw this app, but the execution is horrible. Seems like a decent app, made pretty well. However, within the first two screens of the app opening I was harassed to buy a subscription if I didn’t want to use KJV. Really!? KJV is the only free option!? Why not make it a modern translation, ANY modern translation!? Then was immediately hounded to buy a subscription to the app in addition to the translation fee. Just horrible. I am not against the idea that this needs to be sustainable and have a business model, but the one used here left me feeling gross, and ripped off. You lost a customer faster then I’ve ever experienced. Just disappointed because I would have told a lot of people about this app if there was ANY WAY to use a modern translation for free. Disappointed.

Great for Visual Learners!. I am really enjoying the games and activities which are helping me memorize scripture. As a visual learner, the only thing missing for me is seeing the passage in the context of my personal Bible, which I can easily reference apart from the app. I don’t find the app particularly useful for repetitive listening as the recordings are robotic, but I would not consider that to be the primary function of this app. It does what it does exceptionally well and has put to good use whatever time I would otherwise waste on my phone.

Unmet potential. With the lack of bible memorization tools on the App Store this one has the potential to stand above the rest. However, the lack of updates and customer service makes this an app I can’t depend on for the purpose of building a routine of meditating on the scriptures through memorization. I do not have a problem with paying for translations as we should not everything to be free in this life! However, things I have noticed is that the ESV is not the most recent version (2016) which some may find a good thing. And the other is that there is no CSB which I think is a great alternative for memorizing scripture. Again, this app has potential but.. in my opinion it’s 3 outs with bases loaded. Please note that the only reason I have been critical in this review is because I would love to be able to use this app.

Thankful. I am so thankful for the “Verses” app. A friend shared it with me last summer. At the time, I had been spending many wasted minutes of my day with a game app that had no eternal value. Now when I have a few minutes I work on my verses instead. It has the same calming effect as the game did, but at the same time I am hiding God’s Word in my heart. And it’s been extremely valuable to me because before this, memorizing was much more difficult than it had been in my youth or child-rearing days.

As a spiritual habit:🔥 As an app: 😅. I’ve been using this app for over a year and love it! It’s super helpful for memorizing scripture - it’s as accessible as a game but it’s eternally more valuable! Aesthetically pleasing too. I love using it for a few minute’s during my morning devotional time or right before bed. It does run a bit slow when you have a lot of verses or longer portions of scripture saved, and I had some issues with random crashes and being unable to delete passages (in hopes of making it run smoother) but that was on my iPhone 6 (yes it’s 2020 and I just graduated to an iPhone 8) and so far with the newer phone I haven’t had the same problems (:

Great Bible memory app!. I have really enjoyed this Bible memory app! It it motivating, and the format is easy to work with. I love the 5 minute accomplishment alert and that it keeps track of your daily/weekly consistency :) I think one thing that could be improved is the ability to add verses to a current passage in the works. As it is set up right now, the passage is decided from the start and is unchangeable after it is created. It would be helpful if there was a way to add verses to a created passage. That’s my only recommendation for improvement :) Other than that, I love it! Thank you for making it available!

Just what I needed!. As someone looking to connect with God and include more Scripture in my day to day life, this app has made my days feel so much more intentional and complete. There is nothing better than feeling the will of God moving in your heart and mind by the conviction of God’s Word. Challenging myself to memorize verses that convict me had helped me implement that wisdom more consistently. Even though the free version is harder for me to understand, the price to unlock all versions is very affordable and I look forward to purchasing that soon.

Incredible!. I have always struggled to memorize anything, let alone scripture. This app has made it possible for me to finally retain passages. Thank you for that! Please add a second level of difficulty to the “Type Out” game. I find myself making many mistakes because my fingers and thumbs automatically type the second letter of a word due to muscle memory. I know the verses and words, so these mistakes aren’t memory related. A second level would solve these mistakes as I fly through the type out. Instead of just the first letter of each word, I could type the whole word. Thank you!

Hard to Believe!!!. I have always struggled with memorizing things-anything-but this app has changed that! The games compensate for my short attention span and in a matter of half an hour I had a whole section in my head!!! My ONLY complaint about this app is the option to speak the verses. The app cannot follow your voice like your phone does when you talk text. It can’t keep up even when speaking very very slowly a verse at a time….so even though I know a large block of Scripture, the app will give me strikes.

Great idea- app is developing. I love the idea of this app! It makes my time spent on my phone more productive! I’ve memorized three passages already! But the Speak/voice recognition definitely doesn’t work well at all, yet. It is in Beta testing and still rough. It marked my verse almost entirely wrong although I had it correct. I would like to see a few more game options. Maybe a type it out where you have to type the entire verse not just first letter of each word. Maybe some word search puzzle kind of games? And I would love a daily suggested verse to memorize. I don’t always have an idea of a verse I want to memorize come to mind.

Potential. I love the idea of this app! And I want to love the app, there’s just a few things that need improvement: 1. Right now I can’t switch bible versions, the whole app freezes when I press the KJV button that should allow me to switch versions 2. The “speak out” function is SUPER BUGGY, it started working for the first few words and then started marking everything as wrong/red even though I was carefully and slowing reciting my verses correctly. 3. It would be awesome if there was a way to section off large sections because trying to work on a whole chapter is frustrating for instance the reorder game is ridiculous with a whole chapter, but I’d like to memorize the whole chapter! This just needs rethinking

A Great App with Very Few Flaws. I love this app as it has helped me memorize scripture, which I never thought possible. My only issues are with formatting in the titles of the Third Article of the Apostles Creed and The Fourth Commandment in Luther’s Small Catechism, as well as my belief that some sections of Luther’s Small Catechism wherein the answers are multiple passages of scripture would be better and easier to memorize if they were able to be divided. But all in all this app is great and I would recommend it to just about anyone wanting to memorize scripture.

Incredibly helpful. Normally, I’ve written on index cards but it’s hard to really test yourself/ make sure you are accurately quoting the scriptures. This makes it so easy to check yourself. I’m impressed with the activities. There is a variety and it really helps to get over that first hump of becoming familiar with the scripture. The only mistake at first is putting in too much of a chapter to memorize at once. All activities will use the entirety of the verses so start at your smallest amount. It’s easy to expand to include additional verses in the chapter. So glad to have found this app and be using it to memorize scripture

Great App- some bugs with type out. Typically I use a journal for verse memorization- however this app helps me practice no matter where I am. My one frustration is I notice at least regarding the CSB translation that following hyphens it does not accept answers, whether correct or not. An example of this would be Deuteronomy 32:4, which begins by saying “The Rock— his work is perfect…” No matter how many times I try typing “h” following the hyphen it deems me incorrect. However, this app overall has been of immense assistance in my spiritual journey

Please Fix the Speak Out Feature. I love this app, but the speak out feature is so frustrating. I know the verse, but when I say it correctly, it gets overwhelmed and hears me wrong. It’s so frustrating because I know the verse, but I can’t progress because this feature doesn’t work properly. You have to speak super slow to get an accurate verse, but even then it’ll mess up sometimes. I just wish it worked proper so I can progress. Other than that, I love the app. It’s a great Scripture memorization tool. So many different games to help you remember the Scripture. If you have trouble memorizing verses please use this app!

Helpful and well thought-out app!. Absolutely love this app! Great for memorizing alone or with a group, and the suggestions of the group ideas is great too! Two suggestions: 1. In the group activity, can it just delete the notifications in the app if someone adds something to the group then decides to delete it? 2. Make it easier to memorize catechism; specifically Heidelberg plaese. Thank you so much for creating this app! I'm sure it helps so many people everywhere learn more about the Bible as sometimes it's hard to open a bible everyday, this makes it easier to get to the Word.

Super helpful. This app is great! I like the different ways it helps you to memorize scripture such as a word bank and reordering the passage. You can also choose to type it out by the first letter of each word or speak it out. (Speaking is still in Beta but it works very well.) I also like how you can make lists of verses and create sections within that list. There are certain functionality things I’d like to see but otherwise this is a great app to help you learn new verses or refresh the verses you already know.

Best app I’ve found. There’s honestly a lot of little glitches in the app, like sometimes your progress won’t update immediately, or the app will crash after memorizing a large amount of verses, but overall it’s very good; none of the small problems I’ve had make it too frustrating to use. The user interface is very intuitive, and the way they make memorizing feel like a game is very helpful. It’s free for the KJV, but if you want a different translation/creeds and other stuff you have to pay a couple bucks. Highly recommend.

So good! To God be the glory!. I love this app! The developers have made a lot of improvements since I first started using it. I love that the subscription to pro is yearly and only $10. Thank you for doing that instead of having us pay for Bible versions individually. Thank you for adding the catechisms, too. That is a great feature. The app makes it so easy to memorize and so fun, too. I look forward to my time in it every day. Thank you so much for making it and to God be the glory!

Great! But…. I love this app, I use it for personally as well as building discipleship memorization. It has several great features. My biggest concern is that there hasn’t been an update for nearly three years. For the moment it is stable and functional. I hope that as iOS moves forward we do not loose the ability to use it. Here are a couple ideas that would make it a better app. - Create a referral system where you get a discount on your yearly cost if a friend subscribes. - Add a feature to add verses directly from the main selection that you already are working on to collections. - We need more functions to practice with friends. Maybe creating a tournament or competition based system to be used with groups. - Adding social features would also be great. Personal profiles, friends, and achievements would increase the apps appeal and reach.

Finally! A tool that speeds up memorizing. I am so happy to find this tool, and it is so worth the annual subscription. I have been able to commit complete passages to memory within just a couple days by using this app. I’m now working through Romans road and have already committed 50% of it to memory in one day. The “speak out” feature is beta and definitely has issues. I really hope they fix this, as we need to have the Word “in your mouth and in your heart”. The app is a bit finicky, but it’s very useful and makes memorizing Scripture fun.

I am glad my church recommended this app for me!. This app is amazing, should download! I have been using this for two years now and it is very helpful. On my State drills I only missed 2 all because of this app! We have just started back on Bible drills and I know the first two already! Thank you Verses for all the things you have done and I hope for you to continue what your doing. You have helped very many people including me! So keep up the good work! 😀

Excellent tool!. Granted this is the only Scripture memorization app I’ve used but honestly there is no need for me to look further. The “games” (which are really cognitive learning exercises) bring together all aspects of learning the Scripture and committing it to memory. Repetition is key and having multiple methods for each verse, passage, or Chapter (!) is amazing. New Beta “speak it” listens and populates each word as I dictate; however, if I mess up it populates with correct word and highlights the mistake. Really cool, simple, and useful.

This is really a great app BUT please help me. I paid for the NLT version of this app before they switched to subscription version only and it is not allowing me to restore my purchases. I emailed their Support department and no one got back with me. Thank you so much for getting back with me. Their customer service handled the problem and resolved it! I love this app! There is nothing like it. It makes it so so much easier to memorize verses and also makes it fun. Well worth it to your life for the $4.99.

So good!. I love this app! It is not expensive, and it is helping me know the Word of God! I’d say the game I use the most on here is the Write It game. It’s a game that you type the first letter of every word in a verse and it finishes the word for you. This has helped me tremendously. Right now my goal is to memorize as much of Genesis as I can. The only thing wonky about this app is the Speak it game. When you try to speak the scripture, you can say it completely correct and it will tell you that you’re wrong. Overall, this is an effective way to hide God’s Word in your heart!

Awesome Tool. I really like this app. I myself have returned to God and I’m submerging myself in the Word. Because I want to be able to recite the Bible in my prayers and in conversations this app has been awesome so far. My kids age 14 and 11 are learning with me in a group we have created we are learning and mesmerizing so fast. It’s also giving us so much to talk about and learn together. We love this app. The only little complaint I have is the speaking game sometimes it’s not catching my voice but everything around me. But it’s an awesome app and i recommend it to everyone.

Helped me memorize Entire Books of the Bible. My good for nothing ex-wife was always dragging me. She told me I’d never be able to memorize any section of the Bible. That changed when I got the verses app. She was a weapon of the devil. I knew I had to fight back against her by arming myself with the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10). The Bible is the sword I was certain I could slay her with. I started slow only a few verses a day and the covering those verses again the next day. I’m proud to say that as of today I am happy divorced and have 4 entire books of the Bible memorized!! Great app!

Very helpful app. This is a very helpful app for memorizing bible scripture. It contains several methods for memorizing. Myself and my 11 year old son are using it. We both love the cool colors and progress circles and visual of where we've memorized verses in the bible. I would give it a 5 star, but missing voice recording. I also hope they'll include the ability to import and edit scripture. My children go to Christian school and for whatever reason, the bible memory verses they need to study for any given week might be sometimes slightly off a word or two even though their teachers are using NLT or NIV. Great app overall.
