Barometer & Altimeter Pro App Description & Overview

What is barometer & altimeter pro app? This app uses the barometric pressure sensor built into all newer iPhones and iPads and features a Barometer for weather, an Altimeter for outdoor activities and a History feature with CSV export to track air pressure.

No ads, no internet connection, no trackers! Runs on your device only!

Keep an eye on the barometric pressure and be your own weather forecast! This little app uses only GPS (optional) and the barometric pressure sensor to calculate the barometric pressure used in weather forecasts. iPhones and iPads have a barometric pressure sensor built in so this app works completely without internet. The handy marker helps you keep track of changes in the barometric pressure and lets you predict weather changes! Air pressure and its change over time is a very good indicator for weather!

The History allows you to store pressure values over time and compare. With a single click you can export it all as a CSV file.

The Altimeter helps you track your altitude changes based on the change of pressure. Just set your reference pressure and altitude in order to use the Altimeter for checking how high up the mountain you have climbed (works for other activities too). Most users will simply rely on GPS for altitude information but GPS does use a good bit of energy, so this app does not rely on GPS for the Altimeter and can help you gain an estimate, even with GPS disabled (by default the App does use GPS for calibration, configurable).

Features
- Barometer for weather.
- Altimeter for height estimations.
- No internet connection required since the sensor is built into iPhones and iPads.
- No ads! No data collection beyond your device (history and settings). No web communication at all.
- Data export in CSV Format.
- Supports 6 selectable units for air pressure hPa/mBar, inHg, mmgHg/torr, atm, psi, kPa.
- Support for 2 different altitude units, meters and feet.
- Marker and History so you can track changes in barometric pressure
- Manual altitude setting or automatic altitude updates based on GPS for the Barometer.
- GPS Correction. In case your GPS seems to always be 'off' a little you can now fix this easily.

What happened to the app after the Apple update April 6, 2024?!. Several years ago, I paid to upgrade the app, so I could change the face between several different options, plus, I was able to show 2 different pressure units on the face at the same time. Those are all gone now! I do NOT like the way app looks now. It’s extremely sparse and basic looking. There’s no longer a chart showing what the barometer has done the last 6 hours to 30 days. It is totally off and when I put in my altitude, it’s really off. I don’t know what is going on, but please, bring back the old version. Also, I’d like a refund of my money, since I’m no longer getting what I paid for. This version is no way, shape, or form, a better version of the old!

Barometer. Love the trend function on this app which I use to determine when is the best times to fish. I would like the trend diagram to offer vertical line indications for the midnight of each day as well as horizontal lines that can be set to mark specific barometric ranges. The best range for fishing is when the barometer trend steeply falls from below 30.9 to above 29.9. Highlighted range indicator lines would make this easier to determine at a quick glance.

Only records when you open the app. This app looks nice and has some cool features, but even though it has a "Trends" page (which tracks the barometric pressure over a few weeks), it only records the pressure when you open the app. I was hoping/expecting it to pull pressure data from a weather database, which would make the trends page more useful. I've been trying to see if my sinus headaches are linked to specific changes in barometric pressure, but unless I'm checking this app every minute (it doesn't record the pressure in the background either), this is not a very useful app.

Very glad this app exists. I’m grateful that this developer has put so much work into an app whose key features are 100% free. I was looking for an app that gave me the output of my phone’s internal barometer, and that’s exactly what it does. And you can even set the little red marker to track changes! And no ads, not even in the free version! Thanks, developer. To the people complaining about the tracking not working while the phone is locked: it’s obviously an iOS limitation.

Migraine Tracking. I use the app primarily to see the correlation between barometric pressure and migraines. Anything below 1010 may trigger a migraine. Would not have discovered this correlation without the app. And dark mode is a real plus for migraine sufferers as well. Suggestion: A dark face option. When a migraine strikes, the less light the better.

Every feature I loved is gone…. Talk about devastated. I’ve never even left a review before this moment. I’ve been using this app probably since it was released to track my pressure drop migraines. I could see when drops occurred on the graph and if the times lined up with symptoms. I could quickly glance at the color-coded dial and know if I was at risk. I could check the pressure at a glance with the widget. I used this app every single day and recommend it to every migraine sufferer as I know as a much needed tool! I noticed today that the widget was just gone. Couldn’t add it back either. Opened the app to find it completely redesigned and every feature I used is now gone as well. The graph is gone entirely. The color-coded dial is gone. The widget is no more. It’s completely barebones. Sure, it looks pretty, but it’s lost all usefulness and I had to find a new app. Beyond bummed.

Trend is not working in this version. This is a great Barometer/Altimeter, but as others have mentioned the Trend function is completely broken in this version. The line graph is extremely jagged and jumps wildly up and down; and the value at the end of the line does not even correspond to the currently displayed value. Other than that, the app has a clean, appealing design, and it is easy to read and use.

Nice but could be better. Like many others my main concern is the change in pressure. It’s inconvenient that the phone must be unlocked and the app running ‘on top’, not in the background to get a contiguous plot. This means that to get the best information I can’t be using anything else on the phone. If it could log in the background I’d love it. If the slope of the graph could be logged it’d really be great. There are a couple of other things that I think would help, but those are the big ones. Thanks to the developer for a good program, but it does have room for improvement if IOS limitations allow.

Was great, give me back my 30-day trend graph. I’ve really liked this app up until now, but the feature I liked most is just gone. The Trends page used to give several options between 6 hours and 30 days and it was fascinating to compare the pressure over that length of time. Now the Trend is just the time and pressure, no graph. Also the app says I’m at -86 feet elevation when I’m right at sea level or up to about 10 feet above, and wants access to my fitness app. Might delete and find an app that has a Trends graph, I don’t like this at all any more.

App has been downgraded since Update. I used to love this app and I used it frequently to check the barometric pressure since it affects my arthritis. However, since the latest update going to analog from the digital, I have lost interest in using it and am actively looking for a suitable replacement. I can deal with the analog barometer. However, I really miss the graphic display of the history including the ability to adjust for number of days. It was probably a 4.8 star rating before the major downgrade of your recent update.

Helpful for health. This app is great for tracking pressure changes if you have barometric-triggered health problems. I have two rare conditions, and being able to monitor barometer is very helpful. This app works very well for doing that. I just wish that it had the capability to update the “trends” in the background for greater accuracy.

Great barometer app & excellent support!. I downloaded this a week ago, and immediately bought the pro features. There’s one little kink in the pro settings where I’m unable to unlock the dynamic Y-axis on the graph. I emailed the developer, and he replied immediately. He thinks it is a bug with iOS, and said he would try to fix it in the next update. That’s what I call service!

Nothing out there better. I've tried quite a few barometer apps, & there are a lot of them, and none of them compare to this very easy app, but complex in the inside. I only wish it could be open on the front page, instead of having to access the app...that is the only negative I have. Thanks for helping me determine/predicting my arthritis aches & pains!!

Update step backwards. Wow what a step backwards. I used the app for years, enjoyed the classic view that match’s a real barometer. Every worked . The update changed everything. The graphics went from classic to almost just a circuit and two lines. The response time went from instant to a long lag. If I was loading it today for the first time I would not get the app.

Only while using. I want to give this app a 5 star rating, but I don’t understand why it only gives the option to track your location while you’re using it. That means it will only record accurate data while the app is on the screen running. For this app to really be useful, it needs to be able to give accurate readings the whole time the phone is on. That way you can actually track the changes in pressure over time while you are not using the app. Without that, this app is just a toy. The tracking of pressure over time graph is not even close to accurate unless you check the app every minute of the day.

Great to bad :-(. Used this daily for years… until update! All the features I like are now gone. Please roll back this update or adjust it. Honestly it’s like this version was created by someone else it is so different. It has been so helpful until now, I sincerely hope that it will be changed so it can again be my beloved app and I can edit this review. - Watch app is now gone, my favorite part - Please add option to have dark screen only. White is rather jarring, too bright, for migraine people and others with sensory sensitivity. - Trends screen in former version was great, loved being able to track changes with options from 12hrs to 30days and the slider bar to see specifics. Now you’re asking me to look at a list of numbers, and other info, and do math. Really?! - Widget gone. I used widget on iPad and on phone used the old style widgets you can add only to the “today” screen. Both types are gone.

Accurate barometer. I sail boats alone across oceans and pay close attention to barometers. I have two on my present boat, but neither is as accurate as the readings I am getting from this app on my iPhone 7+. Comparing those readings frequently with current readings online, I have never seen variation of more than .5 of a millibar. I would very much like the app to work on my Apple Watch, too.

Best Barometer. As a fly fisherman who camps in mountainous isolated areas, I cannot see the horizon between canyon or mountain faces. The barometer is among the tools that warns of approaching weather. The addition of an alarm feature for the Apple Watch version would make this app perfect. Giving it a 5-star cuz it is the best of the bunch and has been for a while.

Idea: make pressure reading a complication feature for Watch. Love the app. Curious if there are plans to make the current pressure reading with a trend arrow as a complication displayable on the watch face. I rarely go into the app on my watch because I’d rather use the app on the phone. I would love everytime I raise my wrist to see the time I also can see the current pressure reading (minimum ASAP) and even a trend arrow (dream function). This would make the watch essentially on par with a suunto or garmin in terms of weather forecasting in the field for me at least. Now if a trend map does become possible down the road for the watch, I’d go pro and pay some money!

Great App. Steffen: Just got your Barometer App for my iPhone and after messing around it seems to work great. I actually calibrated my home wall mounted Barometer using my iPhone’s readings from your App It has been off around 30 hPa’s for years!! Thank You

A 5 star before - what happened?!. This was perfect before. And it transitioned well to my 14 pro iPhone. I opened it yesterday and everything was different. I don't even get the face with the clock style barometer. Worst of all, no more ability to look at trending at different hours up to days and weeks, even months. I will delete and try to reload. So disappointed as this was perfect for keeping track of barometric changes related to migraines. I will change my review if it improves.

Great app for my phone and watch.. This is a nice app that does exactly what you expect. It’s a clean and intuitive interface even with the ad-free free version. I went with the pro version just to say thanks for the excellent app. It provides multiple units in one display for those who need it.

Nice barometer app. Nicely displays the output of the (impressive) built-in barometric pressure sensor that easily registers the pressure difference going up one flight of stairs. Most useful, in my opinion, is the trend-line plot. One request is to include the time scale for the bottom axis to facilitate comparisons vs. time, which is available to the app. Please display the pressure also in the units of the second scale (Pro version), below the dial (numerically) on the main screen. While I’m all for hPa and mBar, pressure is typically in inHg in the US and that would help with regional differences. One of these days, Apple will also make the temperature available (already in the sensor) to app creators and it would be great to have a trend line with both plotted, with due care in interpretation because it’ll be the temperature of the sensor in the iPhone and not of its environment. 🙂

Bill- A young, old timer. This is one of my faves. I have been using it for years as a confirmation of my physical/mental condition. I am late 70s (age) but still very active in golf, tennis, pickelball etc. On the days that I am not at my best (fatigue, focus etc.) I check this Barometer app and it INVARIABLY shows a significant change in pressure is concurrent. I have been telling my fellow competitors this for years and they used to laugh. I began showing them the app readings and they are now “believers”. Interestingly my wife gets a headache about 2-3 hours before a significant change begins showing just how sensitive the human body is and how dramatically we are affected. All my fisherman friends tell me how fish are affected by the barometer, so it should not be a surprise that all creatures on land be at least that affected if not more.

Helps verify what I’m feeling. I started using this after trying others normally suggested for people with migraines affected by barometric pressure changes. I don’t comprehend all the technical explanations but I can now use this app to verify what the pain has told me. I don’t have the “extras” but plan to try them when it’s easier to read and comprehend through pain and nausea. I spent years trying to find and understand my triggers and thought barometric was one but needed an app showing it as numbers and on a graph to see how small the changes can be that make my migraine spin out of control. Verifying it gives me the knowledge to take actions that can help keep it from being as debilitating. Thank you!

Best Barometer App. I’ve tries all the other barometric apps. This one is easily the best and best-featured. The Trend graph is excellent and extremely useful, as is the ability to export data to a CSV file. The tech support is impressive and responsive. The 30-day Trend data can be imported into Numbers or some other spreadsheet for more analysis or graphing. Being able to finely control the marker is great, and having it show on the Trend graph, too. I’ve been doing a study on Meniere’s Syndrome and how air pressure affects symptoms. This App has been extremely useful in collecting, graphing, corroborating data, and understanding when and why the symptoms appear.

Not improved. Not sure why this app was rewritten when it worked so well in the other version. The new version appeared about a week ago. It is no longer user friendly or detail oriented like the old version. There are no instructions for use on top of the completely rewritten views/info. It is unfortunate as I have been using this app as a reliable tool for over 6 years to aid with my migraines. Not sure what I will do now.

I love this app!. I’m a total weather geek and it is SO nice to have an app that lets me use the barometer built into my iPhone to show me pressure trends. I own some expensive, German barometers and this app is just as precise, if not more so, than them. Thank you for a useful and awesome app! I’d love to buy you a beer one day!

Altimeter doesn’t work right. I wanted to ask a question but this is the only option I was given. Every time I look at the altimeter it’s different. My house varies between 160 feet to 866 feet. So something isn’t working right. I wanted to know if it’s some setting in my phone maybe causing the problem, or I didn’t adjust a setting in the app correctly. It definitely knows when I raise or lower the phone, so it’s measuring. But it’s always different. The barometer seems accurate.

Update removes features and history!. This used to be a fantastic app and was exactly what I needed to track changes in barometric pressure over time. Now the histogram is gone along with the historical data points! I could keep a running tab on barometric changes using a yellow sticky-note on my phone, but that seems a bit extreme.. and nearly as useless as this app. Please put the app back the way it was before you “improved” it.

Only updates graph when open. I like the app but the graph only updates when I open it. This creates a very choppy and inaccurate graph of the barometric pressure history. If I don't open the app for a few days the graph just draws a straight line between what the pressure was the last time I opened it and the current value. All the data in between is missing. The graph needs to read and record the pressure at some fixed or user defined I web all. That would make it a 5 star app.

Barometer works really well on my iPhone 6. It's really well done. It's accurate, easy to use and simply works. I like the history feature as knowing if the pressure is rising or falling gives a much more accurate weather prediction. It's free and works better than most paid barometer apps. Give it a try I know you'll like it.

Simple, straightforward, does what I need it to. I’m an automotive technician, I use this app to tell me the station pressure of where I’m at, so that I can check the accuracy of the BARO sensor on cars I’m working on. I like that that it can display in inHg, kPa, psi, and others, because different cars display using different units. For those who are unfamiliar, “station pressure” is the actual barometer reading right here, right now, at your phone, at whatever altitude you are at. Because altitude affects barometer readings, “Pressure at sea level” has been adjusted for altitude to give you just that; what the pressure would be at sea level. Weather forecasters give you this reading. But if you’re working on cars like I am, you need to know your station pressure.

Please help.. I’ve been using your app for years! It helped me decide if I needed to take migraine medication or not, it was so useful. Unfortunately in the new update there is no “line” that shows the tiny pressure changes. That was the part that helped me, I also used it to show my doctor. It was a visual aid. Now, I don’t have that. This new version does not have that quick visual reference and I don’t think I will be able to use it. To be honest the numbers don’t really help me. Is there any way you could put that back? 🙏

Excellent app, clean design, and no ads!. I'm extremely impressed with the job developer Steffen Bauereiss did on this app. It works flawlessly on my iPhone 7 Plus. The design is clean, uncluttered and easy to understand. All the functions one could wish for are there, even in the free version--which unlike most free utilities, has no annoying ads. After spending ten minutes playing with this, I paid for the "Pro" version, not so much because I needed more features as because this developer deserves to be rewarded for a job well done. Herrlich!

The New Release is AWFUL. The new release removes precision and also deletes various appearances of the barometer, leaving the only option a bland and sketchy looking thing. I used to love this app. and the so-called “trend“ no longer shows a trend it makes you click each time you want to store a point. Before it made a very nice graph that showed over 30 days or less the ups and downs of atmospheric pressure. This “upgrade“ is a horrible change. I’ve deleted the app from my phone and my iPad and I am totally disgusted that I bothered to upgrade it because it ruined what I really used to like. Great job, not!

Very useful. Barometer is the most basic instrument used in weather forecasting - I always wanted one that I could hang on the wall to monitor weather; now I have one in my pocket with this app on iPhone. The app even plots pressure changes over time. The Pro version allows export of this trend data to CSV file; that makes this app a serious tool for more sophisticated work. Very useful.

Still won’t log consistent data points. I have been complaining about this for a year or so. On my iPad, I must be opening the app often, or as someone else said, I just see a straight line. It’s better on the iPhoneSE2020, but still a problem. Once in a while, I think it is fixed. I see lots of data points and a nice curve, but every time, it reverts back to the boxy lines within days. :( I don’t need to know either station pressure or sea level pressure right now. What I need are trends! And you can’t get accurate trends without enough data points, pure and simple. Is it better than nothing? Definitely. Could it be better? It sure seems so, because once in a while it is better! I am no programmer or app developer, but why does it become “fixed” now and then, only to revert back??? I am sticking with my 4-star rating because it still works, just not as well as I think it could/should. And I don’t know of anything better, which says something!

Clear readings but adding a notification setting would be huge. This app gives accurate and easy to read information. If they’d add a setting which allowed me to get a notification when the barometric pressure was going to change (say, a 12 hour warning) it would be a total game changer for me and I think every migraine sufferer as well. Pressure changes of as little as 6 (from a base line of 1013) are enough to trigger migraines, and if we could use the knowledge of an upcoming change to premedicate, we could avoid having to do that AFTER the migraine has already started, which is more difficult and often requires higher doses.

Works Fine in iOS 11.0.x. Just a brief update. I apologize for not revising sooner. Works fine in iOS 11.0.1 From iOS 10.x.x - Love how it's a widget! 👍 --------- Previous: --------- If safety or health an issue, consider downloading iOS 9.3.5 IPSW file, or restore from your backup. iOS 10 is ok, but still pretty new & can be problematic. -------- From previous versions: Straight out, this app was only off by 2 millibars from an aneroid barometer, calibrated at local NWS station. Tweak difference in elevation and app is right on the money every time! Will be very useful (and safe) for outings to gulf coast during tropical storm / hurricane season. I also like how it matches Apple's clock & 'pro' version has > 1 scale.

Old version was what I needed.. I usd the graph to understand my rheumatoid arthritis pain. Sudden shifts low or high called for a different pain medicine. I knew not to bother with the usual. It doesn’t do anything with this pain. Conversely, I don’t need the heavy meds on a daily basis. Fortunately my doctor understood that too and didn’t try to get me to take both all the time. I wish that you could have kept the old and just written a new, or maybe you can add the graph back. Now I’ll have to guess. Thank for the years I had with the old one to learn to understand the relationship of air pressure to RA pain.

Works well. People leaving 1 star are misinformed.. The people complaining about "no sensors" are misinformed. Generally, we're talking about dummies who don't realize that not all iPhones or iPads have a barometric pressure sensor. You need an iPhone 6 or higher, iPad Air 2, or mini 4. iPhone SE won't work as it's based off the iPhone 5.

Between 3 and 3.5. I like the simple gauges. I don't like the small font size of the day and time on the movable line. I don't like the time is only in military time. I'd like to see a chart with a line graph of the barometric pressure with the days of the week. Otherwise you have to move the line and read try to read the small font. Paid for the upgrade which I thought would have more features and info. The upgrade isn't worth it. Getting a pretty display option isn't worth the $1.99

Will the Graph be coming back?. I really rely on this app to track pressure changes for a health condition. The graph was so helpful to a quick overview of how the pressure has been changing. I see the graph has disappeared with the update. Any chance we will get that back? 🙏🏻 Or am I just missing it somewhere. Thanks!

Tonoadvertising. Your joints-every single one of them is it’s own separate capsule- meaning it has its own pressure. I have patients who say they can tell when it’s going to rain or get cold. No, they can tell when the pressure’s dropping- which is almost always accompanied by some type of weather change, rain, cold or otherwise-and your joints internal pressure is “feeling” the External pressure change. High pressure is typically fair weather, a dropping barometer means change is coming-soon. Your astute assessment regarding your joints is correct-if someone tells you it’s a myth-they’re referring to your ability to discern rainy/cold weather-which is only partly true-I’m getting redundant. Most things in nature are in tune with the barometer- I notice I get hungry when the barometer drops-as does most of the animal kingdom, the fishing is typically better during a falling barometer. Alas, I’m a novice myself at setting the barometer-sorry I couldn’t be of more help there.

Works for me!. It took me a while to get the hang of this app, mostly because I did not quite understand how the pressure can vary over the course of an hour, and that it takes a few minutes for the iPhone GPS to lock in the reference altitude. Now that I have a down, it's a breeze. I can actually see one foot variations in altitude.

Nice Barometer but does not track without app open. One of the best ways to use a barometer is to look at the trend of pressure change. This is tracked in this app but only when you open the app can you set a data point that is graphed. Ideally this app should create a data point periodically and consistently all the time. I suppose there is some kind of IOS limitation preventing this from happening. Not as useful without that but otherwise nice interface.

Yes. Just: yes.. I bought this app not for the extra features but because I want to support developers who make good tools. The free version is better than what most paid apps claim to offer. Download and see for yourself. Some ideas for improvements: I’d like a widget that shows graphic changes. I use a barometer mostly to identify changes in weather that aren’t otherwise apparent (and when I cannot rely on the internet). Seeing a trend indicator for the last few hours without opening the app would be great. Also, alerts if the change is large enough. It would also be nice to have altitude as an alternative scale, so I can both gauge recent hiking and compare how my legs feel against the chart to detect atmospheric/weather changes while going up and down. Overall, great stuff. This is the sort of thing we used to pay $200 for in a watch.

Migraines. I’ve always known my migraines are pressure related. I put a marker where I start feeling a migraine, now when I see the pressure dropping close to my marker, I take meds and can usually stop it before it gets bad. This app has been a game changer for me. The only improvement would be if there was a way to set an alarm when it starts dropping.

Need help !. So far this APP works great, has never crashed, and give me what I THINK I need. I say, "what I think", because I am a novice. I really don't understand "Station Pressure/Altitude", nor how to set it and why. I know that this is just my ignorance, but it sure would be nice to get some help/essay explanation, etc. so that not only could I set it properly, but more importantly understand what I am looking at! Call me ignorant ... thats ok ... I am! 😆. But, the way you get more, NEW users of an APP, is to help those of us that have an interest in understanding pressure and altitude ... what their interrelationship is and how to get accurate readings ! All I know right now, is that my joints start hurting when the pressure drops! It's "accurate" for me to take one more ibuprofen when that is about to (or even already) has dropped. Please help educate me to set this properly for my statistic elevation here in Rio Rancho, NM (5282')

Curate’s Egg.. Beautiful Barometer page. Altimeter page a bit messy. Trend page should be the most interesting page but I can’t make any sense of it.

Great bonus for sailors. Really appreciate having such a portable handheld option available on iPhone or iPad to help support weather predictions when voyaging.

Thanks for the memories. I have my great grandfather’s wooden and metal circular barometer on the wall with the same sun/cloud motifs, measurement inHg. I remember my grandmother teaching me how to tap the glass and set the dial. Your barometer mirrors the experience and result. As an enthusiast, I recommend this authentic app, with the in app purchase unlocking so much pleasure.

Disappointed. Since program has been rewritten it has lost features and doesn’t give me the easy reference it had before

Latest release broke it. Rewritten from the ground up and now broken. Now it reads station pressure is always 1010 hpa (although I’m 600 meters above sea level) and sea level pressure is always 1085 hpa

What. What have you done to this App, it reminds me off the old 3.55 floppy disk barometer, it discussing using old age technology

Disaster. I want my money back. What on earth made you change to this new programme!!!! What a shame, the last was by far the best.

Great Ap! (Don't buy the in-Ap purchase). Great ap if you're a non-scientific person who just wants to know the barometric pressure and altitude. It also shows a graph of altitude and barometric pressure over time - which is really nice! Don't pay for it though. The app offers to turn of the advert banner at the bottom of the screen for $1.49 (AUD) but it doesn't work. Save your money. (Developer, could you please fix this)

iOS 10. App not working after iOS 10 update.

No graph?. Missing the graph from previous version. I used to use this to monitor trend in air pressure as I suffer from inability to regulate my inner ear pressure. Checking graph helped me. A list if numbers in History is not useful. Please reinstate graph.

Amazing. Really cool being able to see pressure change in real time.

New update. New update is to basic I use it for fishing and now I have to find a new one

Waiting for bug fixes on iOS 10. Very good app til iOS 10 broke it.Hope bug fixes from Apple or app developers to fix this issue.Get the app to recognised the barometer sensor will make the app work again!Hope asap thanks!

How is this app used??. Is it made for the average person or ???

Gone from brilliant to unusable. This was a fabulous app until the re-write, now it’s virtually unreadable, and doesn’t rotate on the iPad in landscape mode. Very disappointing!!

Doesn't install. For some reason doesn't install on my Apple Watch 3 and only on my iPhone. I have an SE tho but since I have a barometer in my watch I'd want to use it.

Great app. It's a simple but great app. Works well on my iPad air2.

Trend doesn’t record. Even when opening the app the trend doesn’t record. You need to open the trend part of the app every time for it to record. What a pain!

Always accurate!. I check the Barometer App whenever we go out on the boat, and it never fails to perfectly match our barometer at Home home, and the official weather forecast. 100% reliable!

What have you done ???. What have you done with this App ? Not impressed with the new look, TOO simplified for me, I miss the original faces it once had. As I am a keen fisherman, I prefer the look of the “Fishermen’s” face, but in general it has become TOO SIMPLISTIC.

Great - keep development going. Probably the app I use most. Good interface, and trend view. I'll give the fifth star when Apple Watch support is added.

Barometer on my iPhone!!. Love this app And it is always correct against the one on the wall in the house!

Ok. Wrote with question about 2 months ago. No response. Doesn't seem to update in the background. App works ok.

Good but.... I really do not know how to read the altitude.

Barometer. Perfect for my weather prediction requirements . Accurate !

Works great. So far the app has worked great. It looks good and when comparing the pressure to the current aviation pressure setting it seems very accurate!

No longer useful. Was absolutely perfect for my needs till the update. I needed that graph and widget. Now it’s practically useless for me.

iOS 10 issue. Stopped working with the iOS 10.0.1 upgrade. Used to work perfectly. Hope a fix will be available soon..

Terrible update. This barometer was great until the update! Now it sucks! Will look for a new barometer app.

Great. A great app with no ads. The only thing that I do not satisfied is the units don't have kpa. If you add that, five star is for you!

Pretty great. But.... Pretty useful but it’s missing background update.

Barometric trend gone with update. This update has removed the information that I valued most.

Very helpful app. I highly recommend this App

Great barometer, but. The “Altimeter” page is complicated and not necessary, and the GPS altitude already exist on the Barometer page. The “Trend” page could be less complicated, or at least, put a ‘low pressure’ and higher pressure’ line on the graph. The “Barometer” page works great, I like the icons showing Sun, Sun/Cloud, and Rain. Without those icons, the numbers alone mean nothing to most users. Users need to see that they Barometer indicates hot weather, fair weather, or stormy weather, so these icons are very important. I like the “Apple watch” support as well.

Guess what is ridiculous?. When apps are updated, the idea is to fix bugs and increase functionality. Not this one. Both of the most valuable functions - the trend and the widget - have been removed. How was this supposed to be “progress” and in what world was this deemed a good idea? Saying it’s been streamlined to come in at a <1mb download is a weird flex when most phones now have tons of storage and core functions are taken away to do so.

Does not work on Apple Watch. I really like the app on the phone but unfortunately it doesn’t show on my Apple Watch.

Old barometer. Don’t like the new app, put the old one back and no widget

Has stopped being accurate?. App was work fine for over a year. Has been giving me inaccurate reading since October 2019. It’s too bad because I like this app. Deleted it off my iPhone and Apple Watches today.

Ruined it!. You no longer have graphs for the history. Can’t see the trends. Why would u do that.

New look is unpleasant. Display no longer animates, it just jumps to current pressure so you can’t visually see a trend as the dial moves like old version. New look is ugly. Bring back the old display. Bugs in changing scale, they don’t apply all the time. Don’t know if I’ll keep it now.

complicated- and trend function limits itself. I have no idea if this app is just downloading and displaying information from the internet, or using sensors in the phone. Also the app will not store any data so the trend function is useless. Finally why do I need to research what the difference between absolute altitude and relative elevation is? Why can't it just simply tell me how high above sea level I am? frustrating

Works great. Now that I figured out how to set it up properly (station vs sea level), I enjoy it. The reading is a little out vs the weather office, but as far as "stormy/change/very dry" it's good.

new look. no widget.. the now look is quite stylish but now the widget has disappeared and that’s mostly what i used. bring that back and i’ll give five ⭐️.

Fonts. I bought extra barometer faces, they could offer larger fonts on faces, hard to see on iPhone, otherwise enjoying App.

Just what I need!. Great barometer app! Simple and easy to use. I work outside and this is the first app I go to and is great for fishing indicating a low pressure. I think I will get the Pro version.

Good graphics, accurate so far. Nice graphics. Checked pressure against nearby airport report and it was very close. No ads. It's all good. Using iPhone 6 Plus.

Nice app. Does exactly what it advertises. Easy to use. Good interface. It would be nice to allow background updating to smooth out the historical data. Only seems to update when the app is open and phone is awake.

Great!. Matches weather stations data very close. This is achieved by manual calibration (overriding gps and setting altitude manually) Thank you for the great free app.

Great app but can use a couple more features. This is a great product. It should be a 5 Star, but they need to add a couple more features first. I've tried quite a few barometric apps now and this one is the best that I've found so far. The best feature is the ability to export the log file data. However, keep reading and I will comment on how this should be enhanced. One thing that they can do to enhance this product is to leverage the native background refresh function in iOS to grab continual data when the application is not open (even though background refresh doesn't sample continuously, it's still better than no data). The help file states that they intend to enable this option in the future release. Another very cool thing they should do to enhance this product, is to enable us to add a note any time we open the application and store the note with the data point in the log file. This would enable lots of people who have physical problems that fluctuate with barometric pressure (Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, MS, Osteoarthritis, etc.) to track what medication they take and how they feel and map that to specific data points in the log file in real time. This could become a great medical app to help patients provide real data to their doctors. Other than that, the app works extremely well. Lots of potential. I just hope the developers follow through and keep enhancing the product instead of releasing one version then let go off on something new and never come back again to keep building on a good thing.

Terrible “update” in April 2024. This used to be a good app. Now it doesn’t work at all on my iPad. My next action is to delete it and try to find one that works.

Great app! Needs iOS 10 support.. This is a fantastic app that does as it says it does. I notice however, and this is only since the iOS 10 update, that the data logged when exporting does not always and now rarely matches the time stamp in the title. Useless in that regard. Please enhance this app it's great and the only you'd need.

Great. It works well and you truly don’t need to spend any money to get the best. Spending money does not add any needed features. The only two things I would love to see would be the trend function needs fixing. I am running the latest iOS on an iPhone 8. The other would be background refresh. But really a great app

Retired Surveyor. Great app! I will find this very useful in my travels. This app is worth even paying for.

Best in class. I am so pleased with this app. Great features and great appearance. Well done! 💨

Best. Best app I've found for barometer readings from iPhone's onboard sensor. Thoughtful and polished. Great app.

Freezing on main page. Newest version freezes on main page. No other button and icons will work. It continues to work and adjust the numbers on the barometer. Nothing else works.

Apple Watch?. This is fantastic app. Hope you can include version for Apple Watch

Watch?. Love the new look! Is the watch app coming back?

Is the watch app coming back?. Loved it!

Barometer. From childhood in the UK I used to tap our barometer to give an indication of what weather we should expect during the day. We had 2 - a barometer and a barograph Your 'ap' does the job of both and because it is portable indicates changes in altitude Thank you very much- much appreciated. A great addition to my iphone, your program deserves every fraction of the five star rating

Barometer app. Excellent app. I love the trend display. Look forwards to using it in my sailing journeys. Thank you for developing a clean, gadget free, working barometer.

No automated graph?. I only used this app for the graph and widget. The widget on my Home Screen automatically updated the graph. Now both are gone. This app WAS great because I could find the past history without manually creating bookmarks. What’s left to separate this from other apps? Not sure. But it looks like I’ll find out because I need to find a replacement to get back what I just lost. Edit: check out “Barometer plus” after some tweaking to settings I can get a widget and auto updating history graph that updates every 5 minutes. It can access your phones barometer or a local weather station. The graph is even better than the one this app used to have.

Gone. This app does not work anymore stoped sep 5th Started working again sep 12 New app does not work at all as of march 30th 2024 Hands stay at the bottom no movement tried another down load but the same……..been using the app for many years UPDATE the app is all working now with no problems.

iOS10. iOS 10 seems to have broken Barometer.

Great app. Chronic migraines for me are very related to pressure changes where I live as it fluctuates all the time. This app has helped me to keep record of those changes to help me better understand this trigger for my migraines.

Suggestion. I like your barometer app a lot. I’d like to see you enhance it to where I could set the app up to take readings on its own at given time periods. If the app could setup to record the barometric pressure on its own say ever 4, 6, 12 or 24hrs one could better see trends. At the moment, one has to remember to log readings to record a trend or change. I think auto logging the trend would be much nicer. Thank you.

A great app. I had no idea that my iPad had a pressure sensor in its hardware until I found this app. The barometer, taking into account the consistent altitude reading which is generated as one of the functions the app provides, appears to be very accurate when compared to an aircraft sensitive altimeter which I have. This app is easy to use. Highly recommended.

Parfait. La présentation est vraiment d’un shick parfait. Ces fonctions son simples et efficaces. C’est tout à fait ce que je cherchais.

Love the app. The Barometer app is awesome, I can predict my migraines and arthritis attacks now and keep track for my doctor! Thanks

Simple to use and does it all. This app has an elegantly clear and easy to use interface yet offers the power and flexibility to do just about anything you can think of including exporting historical data.

Great app. One of the rare iOS app that is free, without adds and looks beautiful! You can buy a few pro functions (but they are purely aesthetic and the app doesn't loose functionality without them). I totally support this way of thinking and recommend this app to anyone.

Update version image. The update version 5.0 image has changed. I would prefer the original image it looked more professional. Cannot use Barometer in landscape mode on iPad.

Yay! - working again.. Loved this app until the iOS upgrade now says I don't have a pressure sensor anymore. UPDATE: The latest iOS update and it's working again... yay!

Arrowhead man. I just installed the Pro and I really like it. I have to watch the pressure Dailey because I suffer with chronic migraines!! Barometric pressure will set my off. Thanks love the look of this.

No Trend Available Anymore. I have enjoyed this app for a couple of years to get a feel for what weather comes my way and it’s been helpful. That said, the tracking portion does not work now, it just shows long lines with no variations. I’d like to keep the app for its ease of use, but right now it just is taking up space. I have an iPhone 12 and all is updated. I’ll update again. Is this going to work again? Developer?

Good App + recommendation. Functions as advertised, nothing to complain about. One suggestion tho -make basic weather prediction based off of barometric erasure trends. This would be good to have as a widget...

Longtime user. I’ve used the app for years, it’s accurate and simple. I like that there is no spying on your data. You don’t need a connection to use it. I do miss the graph.

Notifications?. Great app but it would be better if there was a notification feature such as when the pressure changes rapidly over a set period of time.

Not being kept up to date. Loved this app from day one. Unfortunately it seems to have been abandoned by the creators. The “pro” option no longer works even after paying for it. Wish this was working in its entirety as it started as a great app.

Update is awful. Who updates an app to take away all of its useful features and make it worthless? Apparently the designer of this app. I used this app for years to help track patterns and help with my migraines. Now it is useless. And when it updated it removed my historic data I had saved. I am so disappointed in this app update and will be getting rid of it to get something else as it’s not completely useless to me.

Help for those at altitude. I am also at altitude (like other reviewers) - I have no idea how to set this so it’s accurate for this altitude and the app offers no help. Great app for tracking but a few easy how-tos would give it a 5 star for me. Hope to see an update soon! :) if it helps I’m out of Denver, CO

Not What It Used To Be (now non-working). Once had a crisp, functional user interface. Now looks clunky & hardly ever displays a correct reading. A disaster… I deleted it & found a better app (examobile’s works perfectly & even lets you independently calibrate the iPhone pressure sensor). The old app must have been sold to an incompetent high school coder, who proceeded to ruin it.

Ugh, what happened?!. I too paid for the upgrade so that I could choose the view that worked best for my needs. I get migraines that are greatly influenced by changes in barometric pressure, so I used the view for fishing so I could see the red zones, yellow zones, green zones (and plan accordingly), and the 30-day tracking view was also SUPER IMPORTANT for me to see dramatic swings in one direction or the other. I’m so disappointed by the “upgrade.”

Clean and simple. Just updated the barometer app to v5.0.0 and it still doesn’t work! Ever since updating iOS to to 17.4 the barometer dial is frozen in one position. There seems to be a disconnect between the app and the built in sensor. I hope there will be an update to resolve this issue.

No Ads!. That is my absolute favorite thing about this app. Along with the fact that it works wonderfully with my iPhone 7. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a simple app to tell the barometric pressure and altitude … WITHOUT ads.

Apps Utility Has Been Downgraded. I have used this app without problems since 2015. My main reason for using it was for the graph illustrating barometric pressure history. This was very useful for medical reasons related to a chronic migraine condition. The developer has improved the look and feel and speed of the app, however without the graph the app is of little use to me.

Great App. Accurate and simple to use. Great addition for those who enjoy tracking weather.

Love this app!. I’ve used this for years. I’ve seen others but for me this is my favorite. Please consider this one!

revert app update. long time user since iphone 6s days. station pressure doesn’t align the marker correctly. what happened to the other faces i purchased? No graph is also bad. Also no widget makes me sad. Only good part is it measures in atm, which most others don’t. Really want the old version back

Straightforward and well done. I have used this app for quite a while and enjoy it. Simple, quick to access, yet robust. Well worth it.

Ref pressure and altitude no longer work. Sorry about that last post. My mistake... the adjustment has to be done on the Settings page.

Barometer not!. This barometer is not accurate. It does not track barometric pressure with any accuracy nor does it record useable data. What good is an app that doesn’t track changes in air pressure on an accurate graph? I’m going to have to look for an app that does what it says it does. Not this waste of resources

Predicts my weather-related headaches. I love this app! I have pressure-related headaches, and I am finally able to predict my bad days accurately using the “trend” graph feature. The face is clean and clear and easy to read for this 63-year-old with zero science background. Thanks for a great app!

Ruined my favorite Barometer App. For many years, this was my go to app for tracking barometric pressure. I would run the widget and frequently look at the history. Did someone else buy the company? Now, both are gone. The new “history” which only tracks the pressures you save is useless. Please put it back to how it was. And stop asking for my health and activity info.

Change app from what I bought. This app is not too good. I purchased this app a few years ago and it was pretty good. Now they have changed how it looks and works. Not satisfied. I want my money back because this is not what I bought.

Please bring back the graph!. Thank you for fixing the issue with iOS 17.4 no longer reading the barometric pressure! Setting the indicator and then reading a table of saved dates, times, and pressures doesn’t convey barometric pressure changes nearly as effectively as the graph of the prior version.

Really happy with this app. I’ve tried a few different barometer apps and this one keeps a graph that will collect data its self and a widget. Thanks!

Freezes. Using the iPhone X and when you go to settings and try to change the face of the display for the app it freezes and you have to shut down the app and restart it. The feedback page is an image and not a clickable email address so I post it here to make it easier

Let down… (see what I did there?). As another reviewer, and fellow migraine sufferer stated; GREATLY DISAPPOINTED by the unexpected and oversimplification by the APP update! Absolutely depended upon the barometric pressure chart and ease of use to plan and track for my chronic migraines. I’ve never left a review before either. This was such a helpful APP for me and many others, for years. I was using the upgraded version too.

Latest upgrade-rewrite a bust.. I have used this app for at least 5-years. One of the main essential features was the pressure tracking graph. And I would have rated the App a 5. With this rewrite, I have lost the pressure logging. I’m not about to create a separate CSV app to perform this essential function. I now rate it a 2 and am looking for a replacement.

Brilliant. Finally a recording barometer. I’ve had the app for a week. I’ve only used the barometer part, but I really like it. If you have a few aches and pains, you can quickly check to see if the barometric pressure is falling.

Scratched an itch. I'm a simple user; just wanted to 1) see a current barometer reading, and 2) track changes informally against my observed weather. This exactly what I wanted and does it so beautifully and with such absence of fuss that I find myself checking back often...

This used to be great. This used to be a great app, helped me to track my migraines which correspond to spiking barometric pressure. However, they recently changed it so that it no longer includes the graph of pressure shifts overtime. I can no longer see what the pressure has been doing over the last six hours, 12 hours, three days, etc. A real loss.

Straight forward. Easy to read and get the info I want right away. It looks as good as an Apple designed app.

Bring back the history graph!. I miss the history graph. Was one of the best features of the old version. Also can we have the option for it to run in the background to log the pressure every so often? It also needs a refresh button to read the current pressure.

Excellent app!. If you have need to track the barometric pressure, perhaps for arthritis our outdoor sports, this has proven to be an accurate and simple app to use. The ‘Trend’ view is great for looking at a graph for 3 day and longer. The Pro version is a super buy!

Great, But.... I don’t like the new update with the white background. This app, though, helps me understand weird things that occur due to barometric changes. Thanks!

Nice app but stopped tracking pressures. Nice app. Worked well until today. Stopped tracking pressures. Re-downloaded the app but didn’t correct the problem. Please fix. Thank you!

No longer useful for me. I’ve used this app for years. Now, with the latest update it has become useless for me. The widget and the graph were the most useful tools. I used them to help track barometric pressure changes in relation to migraines. That functionality is now gone. This app is now just like every other barometer app out there.

Spying. Haven’t used this app in weeks. I wake up this morning and something is using my location. I go to the settings to see what it is and it’s the barometer app. Why would this app be using my location at 6am? I have the settings set up to only use my location while running the app. The app was not open in the background either. Hopefully they have an explanation for this.

Sweet app!. Simple to use and can be used by those not familiar with meteorology by simply reading the help screen. Excellent wide range of choices for display metrics. A great feature to add to the app would be to let the user set a time period (or exact times) fir the app to weaken itself and take readings so a complete history can be stored. Lacking that, perhaps the ability to import GRB files. Thanks for the app!

Display changed. What happened to the 30 day trend display?the range is so wide that the trnd line is straight now, where before, I could see the days when there was a change in the pressure, which was the entire reason I used the app

Long time user disappointed. I have been a long time user of this app and am very disappointed with the recent changes to the app. I depended on the history graph for tracking my Migraines and now it’s gone. Will be finding a new app now.

Good utility but needs improvement. It’s a great app I love the idea and interface of it, but there is a big glitch The app seems to be tracking the barometric pressure only when it is open, the graph is pretty inaccurate if you have not used the app for past 3 days or so.

Headache help!. This app is very helpful for dealing with my weather related headaches. Like another reviewer here, I don’t know what any of the other stuff means, but I am curious. Would love more novice level info. Thanks

Graph works again. With this latest upgrade the gravel on my iPhone X seems to work again. I’ve updated my rating accordingly from One stop back to five. P.S. How do I get the new WOS app on my watch?

Love this app. I have chronic migraines and this app is spot on. If I get a headache all I have to do is look at this and I know pressure has dropped. It is spot on for me.

Great app!. I suffer from a problem where I often experience a feeling of pressure behind and inside my ears. I have often suspected that it is related to barometric pressure in the atmosphere. An app like this helps to confirm my suspicions. It is also an attractive looking app, and best of all, it is free.

Great until it broke. It’s always been reliable, until the most recent iOS update. Then it stopped reporting altogether.

Accurate And Useful. I use this on my iPad, and found it to be very accurate within 0.02hg of what the airport, 20-miles away, is reporting. I use this to gage weather related pain levels, and really like the ability to establish a set point to determine pressure trends.

Trends. I like the app overall but would like to have option to turn on and off where the app stays on even after it is turned off so that I can collect enough data to have meaningful trend lines to view. Thanks

Works, but not unless there is a low system. Its pouring rain right now and the barometer app says partly cloudy. I realized why- the storms we have in Kentucky during the summer are not from low pressure systems, which dont trip the barometer. Odd. But the app works, i verified it with the NWS barometer.
