If apps were food, this one would be yummy.. Beautiful setup. It’s nice to look at, user friendly, easy to navigate and makes doing Whole30 SOOOO much easier. Especially as a busy mom of two under two who is desperate to be healthy but can’t quite muster the brain power to find recipes, meal plan and meal prep. It does an incredible amount of the work for me, removing 90 percent of the stress involved with the age old “what’s for dinner?” question. It’s brilliant and impressive in myriad ways. My one complaint is that it stopped loading my grocery list mid-shopping trip today (first time out the gate). This sucked, but I would hate to fault the app if in reality it had to do with my internet connection :/

Decent app, was charged despite free trial offer. App offered a 14 day free trial for the paid version, but I was charged the full monthly fee immediately. Of course the charge goes through Apple, so their customer service was able to just pass the buck and never even answered me as to why I was charged with the trial. The app is ok - I may have kept it were I not put off by the charge issue, though probably not. There are some good recipes, but it doesn’t allow much flexibility or account for those shopping on a budget at all. The shopping lists were enormous, with many specialty ingredients and very little overlap so you would have needed to get much more than you actually needed of many items. If more options for budget ranges or efficient use of ingredients were built in, the app could have potential.

Refresh Bugs. I purchased the Whole 30 plan. When adding recipes, they don’t appear on the planning schedule. In order to make them appear, I have to scroll all the way to the top and pull down to refresh the app/data. That adds 10-20 seconds each time I add a recipe. Also, when using the shopping lists and indicating that I already have an ingredient, often times, after marking it, it will reappear at a later time as unmarked. Frustrating. These are very basic app/service refresh design issues that shouldn’t appear in a $30 purchase, $15/mos subscription.

Good but needs tweaks. The recent update was a mixed-bag. The biggest thing I liked is they added the ability to “favorite” recipes that you like. However they changed the interface so it’s now harder to view the week’s menu and move/change recipes around, especially on the phone app where I usually do the meal planning. Trying to move a recipe to a different day is a Herculean task where as before the recipe stayed in place while you scrolled the calendar. The app only needed a couple of minor tweaks, but they changed several things for the worse.

Awesome app!!! Developers listen too!. The app has some good meals. The planning is relatively easy to use. The grocery list I like. The app is agonizingly slow to go from on screen to another. Cute pot with hearts popping up out of it while you wait, but has turned into annoying. And this isn’t because of wifi or cell service. This has occurred in many locations with many level of bars. I’m updating my stars from 3 to 5. The app’s improvements have remedied the issue of being slow. Works like a charm!!!

Waste of money. I’m disappointed that I paid for a year of this because the app is not working that well. Its full of bugs.. It’s extremely frustrating to import recipes because the app is not saving or confirming all of the ingredients. I had to do one ingredient at a time after trying for awhile. Importing one recipe took over an hour. For the existing recipes, the portion sizes I am changing are not saving and my shopping list is all over the place because of that. When you indicate that meal will be leftovers, it doubled my portion size of 4 to 8 but since I am cooking for 2, I didn’t need that much. I changed the recipe to portion sized for 2 and the leftover portion was automatically set for 4 and cannot be changed. Certainly getting the portion sizes correct are nothing short of a nightmare at this point. I’ll continue to try because I unfortunately paid for it but at this point, it’ll be easier to get out a piece of paper...

Stopped working. After I purchased a year this app it stopped working completely. It won’t stay open. I will open it and then it kicks me out completely. I have offloaded it and reloaded it many times. Updated my phone etc. but I can’t use it at all. I gave it to stars because it worked great when I was using the monthly version. It was working fine when I was paying monthly. Right after right after I paid for the whole year at stopped working?

Recipes so basic a 4 year old could write them. I downloaded the app after it being recommended by a friend, I also downloaded a similar meal planning app and will definitely stick with the other one. I downloaded to make my life easier, to meal plan for me, so we could find new, creative recipes to get us out of the same routine. You can imagine my excitement when I created my first meal plan. My recipes consisted of- toast, scrambled eggs, green beans, Greek salad, avacado toast, chili, tuna salad, etc. This was so anti-climactic. Doesn’t live up to the hype, total waste of $. We will be using the other app.

Where have you been all my life. I’m suffering from multiple health issues which means eating healthy is not an option, but I have 4 kids 6, 5, 4, &2! Life is crazy so meal planning is tough especially with such a specific diet! This not only helps plan but is so detailed down to specifying particular foods to avoid on top of a regular diet! I’m so thankful!!

Mind Blowing. It’s what I’ve been looking for, but didn’t know it. I’ve been toying with the idea of those boxes that include the food, but didn’t like the idea of not choosing my own produce. Plus the prices didn’t seem reasonable. This app has just taken the thinking out of it for me. It plans my week, based on my dietary interests, it sends my shopping list to me (which I can edit), and it reminds me to begin cooking. The only suggested upgrades I would add would be to make the link with your calendar a bit more savvy - so that it takes into account cooking time and things that need to be soaked the night before. So, for example, if I have it set that I want to eat at 6pm, I would notify me when to start cooking for the recipe I have chosen (they include cook times). Likewise, they would notify me the night before if the mornings recipe needs the beans soaked prior. Otherwise, awesome. And they have on call support (so says an email I received, but I have not yet tried it). The recipes so far have all been good to outstanding. And, more important, toddler approved (although I do occasionally have to cut back on the garlic and hot peppers).

Best Plan I’ve Ever Used. This is the most comprehensive and thorough plan I’ve ever tried. It offers meal plans for every diet preference from omnivores to vegan Keto. I love that counts your calories, gives nutritional information and writes your shopping list. I was worried that the shopping list would get too expensive, but it matched my usual cost, except it’s filled with real foods instead of processed. Love it!

Keeping me keeping on.. This app is absolutely the reason I am having such an easy time with my Whole30 diet reset. From the weekly grocery list to recipes that are so simple yet amazingly delicious to leftovers that give me a break from cooking the next day-Real Plans is MAKING me successful! Thank you to Whole30 for such perfect support.

Life Saver for those with allergies. Getting instantly updated meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists that fit our crazy assortment of allergies and preferences has changed our lives! We went from eating out 3 or 4 times a week to rarely doing so, and love the food so much more. You can also access your account online, I actually prefer looking everything over and taking advantage of all the options there, then using the app to shop and access my recipes in the kitchen. But you can do it all on the app as well. Customer service is super responsive!

Not working. When I renewed my subscription through iTunes the money came out. But when I pull up the app, it just keeps saying I need to renew. I had problems with it the first time I tried it but I thought I would give it another chance. The chat ladies just keep telling me to re purchase it again and it will work. No I already paid over 20 bucks for the month why would I pay you again when you can’t even solve the problem from the start. So you can just keep collecting money for something that doesn’t work. Good luck trying to get anywhere. It doesn’t allow a refund either and any problems you report just sends you to their useless webpage. Chat is useless tried again, they will send an email in 24 hours. Useless. Horrible. Never again.

Good in theory. I used this app 3 years ago and I liked it, but trying it with the updates is really upsetting me. It is glitchy, it is slow, and the recipes it generates are ridiculous most of the time. I wanted to use it for another round of Whole30, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to have it generate a weekly plan that includes enough protein in meals. I have had to go in to each day and edit every meal that it generates. Sorry, but “apple with almond butter” isn’t a sufficient breakfast, nor is “baked sweet potato” a sufficient dinner. There needs to be a way to control the amount of protein someone wants aside from taking the time to go and edit everything that it generates. I’m spending more time using this “time saving app” than I was just meal planning on my own with pen and paper. Total waste of money.

Not worth paying for. I’m pretty disappointed in the lack of variation with the algorithm for formulating weekly meal plans. Every week I have to erase everything and recalibrate it because it gives me hardly any variations of meals and I get the same recipes repeatedly. I stopped following the weekly meal plan and just go through and find recipes, which is not what I paid for. Wouldn’t recommend paying for this, I will not be resubscribing after my subscription ends.

Stress reliever! Connects to Instacart!. What a time saver. After my meal plan is created, I’m able to import the ingredients to my instacart!! Also I love how Real plans can record an inventory of what is in your fridge, pantry, and suggest recipes based on that. And suggests ingredients to get to unlock more recipes! Plus, I can just type in a food I detest (jalapeños) and a whole bunch of items come up that I can easily select all and add to “never include a recipe with this” (or something to that effect.) And I like that I can plan in leftovers! The recipes so far have been delicious. I will update my preference to be faster recipes with fewer ingredients. Cool option. Very user friendly site. So worth $14 a month to not have to wonder at dinner time what I’m going to cook. And the kids love the food!!!

Almost Perfect. Love using RealPlans for meal planning. So handy to have it right on my phone so if I need to change something up while at the grocer it’s no big deal and I know exactly what to add or take away from the list. Only hiccup is that for some reason it doesn’t work as well when I want to shop for two weeks at a time. Even if I prepare the lists for each week separately (i.e. make of the things I already have, etc), when I combine the two lists into one before going into the grocery it often puts stuff back on the list that I already marked off, and won’t let me check off some things after I purchase. Kind of annoying, especially since I often shop for 2 weeks at a time. But otherwise, I love this app!

Excited for all the Low Fodmap recipes!. I recently downloaded Real Plans and am SO excited for all of the Low Fodmap recipes available! I’m still navigating dealing with acid reflux and what foods are okay to eat, so having this meal plan and already made grocery list will make eating feel a lot less stressful again. I’m also so excited for all of the other types of meals available since my husband doesn’t necessarily need to eat a Low Fodmap diet.

Worth every penny. This app has been life changing for me and my husband. After personally struggling with weight and feeling terrible for years - I finally found answers when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease - Hashimotos. The first order from my endocrinologist was to change EVERYTHING I thought I knew about food and go Whole30, some Paleo, DF, and GF...FOR LIFE - as in a total lifestyle change. I went to Pinterest for recipes but was concerned that some of the ideas to pin weren't Whole30 approved. I was right. So I spent time on the Whole30 site and found Real Plans. I was unsure at first with a subscription charge..but I can assure you I'd be LOST without this app. From the roulette wheel of customizing dinner plans, adjusting servings to accommodate for left overs, and the grocery list - real plans is a necessary toolkit for making a truly healthy lifestyle change.

Brilliant contribution to making lives better. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been needing this for 20 years. I am a health focused, wife, business owner, parent of 3 busy kids and teens - one with celiac disease and meal planning has absolutely overwhelmed me. I actually like cooking - but I never learned the tricks when I was younger - and I haven’t figured out how to get it all planned out, shopped for and then to have enough consistent energy to get it all done on a regular basis. This program takes away the hard first steps - the planning, deciding and picking things everyone will eat, writing out the shopping list, organizing it then timing everything so that it works with our schedule and advance prep. Well, before this program, I just couldn’t get it all together more often than once in a blue moon...Or... I would buy all the ingredients for a variety of meals and half the ingredients would sit in the fridge unused b/c I came home too exhausted from work or realized that our schedule had changed. This program breaks everything down into easy steps and takes away the need for professional like experience and mental gymnastics. Thank you!!! You have a giant fan here (hehe - and if you want an investor - I’m your gal).

Great tool!. Just started using this app and loving it! It is helping tremendously with meal planning for Whole30. My last Whole30 was overwhelming trying to hunt for recipes to meal plan week by week, on top of food prep. Which might be why it’s been a few years (or more) since my last one! 😆 This app does the meal planning for me. It includes the shopping list of items you need for that week and you can even search recipes for food you have on hand. This purchase has been worth it and proving to be an invaluable tool!

Over priced. Got this app to try and it’s not as expected. Price is expensive and doesn’t give as many recipes/ranges as I thought. I find myself using a recipe more as an idea than an actual meal for my family. I’m googling other foods to make with some items off this app. Wish there were more options on editing the meal plans. After purchasing the app and trying it out I noticed they have a cookbook that most likely has the same recipes and a fraction of the price. I also saw that if you’re wanting more/different recipes, you have to purchase add ons…. For the first price paid for the app, it needs to have every recipe ever thought of. I did reach out for a refund but apparently I reached out 1 day late. 1 day. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Just buy a cook book or search super basic recipes that you can find anywhere else for free. Customer service doesn’t help just fyi. Was told mine was cancelled but they just cancelled the renewal.

So much potential. I previously used this service and although it was often difficult to navigate I found some great recipes. However, I recently decided to use it again to do the whole30. In addition to charging a monthly fee they are now also charging for programs. The only reason I ever considered using them in the first place was because they were endorsed by the Whole30 and the fact that they've started charging so much more for that program doesn’t seem like a coincidence. Even this I could have moved past but many of the recipes I had saved have been erased which defeats why I decided to use it again. All in all the company fails to update customers on changes that allow us to decide if this is the right platform. It is again difficult to navigate and dangerously close to being exorbitantly overpriced. Furthermore, many of the recipes seem to be submitted so the clients are doing some of the heavy lifting. How are these prices and the other app failures then justifiable?

Works ok, but limited recipes and has glitches. I downloaded for Whole30, and while it has been helpful, the recipe selection is very limited (and most are not appetizing to me), leaving me to import recipes from other websites. This import feature is VERY glitchy. The recipes don’t save, I get errors, etc and am wasting a lot of time trying to reimport. Also, I hate that there is no option to designate leftovers to a certain day/meal when entering your own recipes.

Fraudulent Billing. I attempted to buy an annual subscription last year - for some reason it didn’t go through. I was never able to login and support said I didn’t pay. I had to fight with Apple AND PayPal to get a refund and was a horrible ordeal. I decided eff this, the app isn’t worth this hassle. I got my money back and never used the app. Now, a year later, they KEEP trying to bill me, never mind that I never was able to login or use their crappy app to begin with. They also don’t show up under my subscriptions on iTunes, so it’s not like there’s anything to cancel. This is a SHADY company that 100% is trying to steal money.

Best food planner ever!. This app has all the flexibility and customization I’ve been looking for! You can adjust servings, change meal schedules on the fly, AND add your own recipes (plus they have tons of recipes included). It compiles your grocery list and gives you a timeline to prep meals. Customer service response time is quick to answer any questions. I finally have my meals under control so I’m not starving and overeat! Worth every penny!

Good features, but not good sync. Decent app overall, but fails at being a robust multi-user or offline-first app. Good luck trying to use the shopping list feature with your partner, or in a store that squelches your cellular coverage. It’s fine superficially, but constant pull-to-refreshes that even then don’t consistently show your shopping list’s true state gets frustrating quite quickly. Also, this app follows the "beg for reviews" anti-pattern, so here we are. Friends don’t let friends’ apps block the world for this kind of thing.

Please fix this app. not sure where these positive reviews are coming from...maybe friends? I search for a recipe I know is in the recipe box (Southwest Chicken Soup) and it comes up with no image. Just sort of freezes with nothing on the screen. Tried to import a recipe from the web on my phone, and the images are grainy and have nothing to do with the recipe. If you want to support the paying subscribers, fix this mobile app. Especially us newbies-need something mobile to help when we have questions about a certain product when we're in the grocery store or out to eat.

Serving size for nutritional info?. This is a great app, has really helped me stay on track and is fun to use. My only gripe is that when you go to nutritional information, I don’t think there is a serving size listed. Neither is the serving size mentioned in the recipe. (For example, in the Bacon and Beef patties, it does not say “Form into 4 patties.” It just says “form into patties.”) This makes a difference to those of us trying to count calories. A recipe will say it’s “320 calories” but for what? 4 ounces? 1/4 of the recipe? You have no idea. If this were fixed it would be a 5 star app for sure.

I love this app!. I’m 62 and tried of trying to decide what to cook for the week. I’ve had no problems with this app. I use the chat function if I have a question. They are always helpful. There is a Facebook group for those of us who like to share. This app has gotten me out of my culinary rut. I love that I can go in and out of food plans, add my favorite food blogger recipes, and switch out what doesn’t suit my family’s tastes. I can purchase more recipes from well known food personalities for less that the price of another cookbook. My daughter is a vegetarian and my husband and I eat a Paleo/Primal Diet. I can keep the whole family fed and happy. The shopping list helps keep me from impulse buying, so there is a lot less food wasted in the refrigerator. I couldn’t be happier.

Wanted this to be great but so disappointed!. I wanted to start the vegetarian whole 30 so this in theory seemed like the dream app but I was extremely disappointed and here’s why: 1. They automatically sign you up for auto renew and on the app it is hard to find how to change your subscription (not user friendly) and it does not come up on your Apple subscriptions if you have an iPhone. 2. It wouldn’t let me change the date of when I wanted to start it so my week had to start on a weds which isn’t what I wanted. 3. When I tried to change the amount of meals I wanted the meal to last as in leftovers for ththe next day but the recipe didn’t change. When you look on the support Center there are so many FAQs so seems like a lot of people have these issues or they are aware. Just seems like this is not that user friendly :/ and it’s not like I’m not tech savvy!

Website is better. I find the website so much easier to use. On the app, my grocery list often gives me wrong items so I end up having to get groceries multiple times. Last night I ordered groceries online, which is already time consuming. The generated list has the items, but you have to double check the quantity of everything. Last week I got 1 russet potato for a recipe that called for 6. After I get my groceries, I go back to the app to check them off the list. Today, when I opened the app to figure out what I still need, it had marked some of it “already have” and there was a whole list of new items. I panicked for a moment thinking it had generated a new plan for the week - it had. I triple checked that I was looking at the correct week’s list and menu. When I went to the website, the correct plan and grocery list is there. That’s a relief, but also frustrating because the website and the app aren’t communicating the way the should. Also, the website is almost impossible to use on a mobile phone. I should keep track of the number of hours I spend just getting groceries for the week. Otherwise, it’s nice to have the convenience of a meal planner so I don’t have to make a menu and grocery list on my own. That it not a talent I possess.

Definitely Give This App A Try!. This app has been so helpful! I totally rely on it now. I’m a pescatarian and my family eats meat so it’s just nice to have such an organized tool for creating fun recipes that suit everyone. I also love the shopping list feature because it saves me a lot of time and basically guarantees I don’t forget anything at the store. The other cool thing about it is you can either use it like a simple meal planning app or you can really dig in and use some more of the complex features it offers. Anyways, I totally recommend it! It has become a staple for our family.

Real plans is a 5 but Whole 30 option a 2. I bought Realplans instead of using a free meal planning app because of the option to have planning for my dry January Whole 30. Once my learning curve flattened out I really enjoy using Realplans. The app is great for the shopping list, I like the variety of meal options. It has made my food life easier. However, paying an extra $30 for a Whole 30 isn’t worth it at all. You get access to 328 Whole 30 recipes, but the majority of the planned meals weren’t from Whole 30. I own 4 of their books and many of those recipes aren’t on the website. She uses lemon garlic dressing in a lot of her meals and searching for lemon garlic dressing in the recipe box, nothing comes up. I had a lot of repeat side dishes, like sweet potato mash, nothing using leftovers in a repeat meal. I ended up choosing my own Whole 30 meals which I didn’t need to pay extra for. Also my 10 day reintroduction plan didn’t work at all. I chatted with support who told me to add my own recipes. Well, yea, but that’s not what I paid $30 for. 4 days later, I’m still waiting to hear from them. So, Realplans? Yes Whole 30 option? NO. You can plan it on your own.

First two weeks. Things are going great and the scheduled meals mean one less thing to think about each day. And you know you will have what you need because of the shopping list. We also appreciate the simple ingredients and uncomplicated recipes.

Frustrating. The idea of this app is fantastic. Some of the recipes were quite good. My issue lies in some of the glaring mistakes that I discovered after 3 months of using the app. Firstly, the nutritional information seemed to sometimes be for the entire recipe, and sometimes for one serving. I confirmed this by running some of the recipes though other nutrition programs. This is frustrating for people who want to closely track nutrition. Secondly, going through the trouble of entering in dietary restrictions apparently made no difference to the recipes offered. After restricting my diet to gluten free and Keto, my meal plan was riddled with sandwiches. What? Finally, I purchased an “integrated” macros tracker that turns out wasn’t even available on the app. You had to use it with the website only. Just...ugh. I got too frustrated to keep paying for it. TLDR; nice idea, terrible execution

Great healthy foods. We originally bought this to help navigate whole 30. As busy parents with full time jobs, we have continued this app faithfully for over two years. The organization and good meals helps us to stay away from easy junk food and makes shopping SO MUCH EASIER! We would like more variety for side dishes that our teens also like, but overall this has been a game changer for our family!

SCAMMY, buyer beware. I signed up with a ten day free trial period for my whole 30 diet. Five days in decided this app wasn’t working for my family so tried to cancel it. Many hoops to jump through, couldn’t do it from the app. Live chatted with an agent and asked her to cancel my account. She said she could help me with that but then proceeded to tell me how I needed to log into the account from a browser and request cancellation from the account page. Ok. Thanks for your “help?” Did that, and then made a time stamped screenshot....just in case. Logged in on Sunday to ensure it was canceled and it said it had been and that I would not be charged again. This morning was about to delete the app but logged in just to make sure it was canceled. To my surprise it wasn’t! Live chatted with another agent who said she was sorry my account cancellation hadn’t been processed when requested, that it would go to the free account after the month subscription was up, and then argued the semantics between account cancellation and refund request. Obviously if I am not going to use a service I want my money back!! I filed a claim with PayPal, hopefully it won’t be too much more of a headache to get a refund. My advice is to hope and pray you actually like this app if you try it, because getting your money back under the free trial period isn’t an easy process.

Falls short. The concept of this app is wonderful and I LOVE the recipes I have tried thus far. But, isn’t there always a but, I planned an entire week worth of meals, went through the grocery list, took out the things I already owned and went shopping! Great so far. The first day was fantastic, everything I needed was there, the recipes were easy to follow and the results were great! Then day two. Scallops was on the menu. But scallops were not on the shopping list! No scallops. Ok, maybe I missed it or clicked “I have” by mistake. Push scallops to day three and we’ll eat day three meal today. No cauliflower rice! Cauliflower was on the list and I got it, but no cauliflower rice. Next recipe. No coconut milk! Now I am annoyed. It is a wonderful idea and I love the concept but I was looking for something that would organize me enough so I would have all the ingredients and not need to go to the store at 6 when i get home from work and start cooking.

Loving this. I’m doing the whole 30 minus nightshades and I can choose from easy to budget to more complicated meals. The shopping and pantry lists are awesome. Right now I’m cooking four days a week and using leftovers for the rest of the days. Although this next week, I’m cooking a little bit longer. Sometimes meal prep like this morning took two hours for breakfast for 5 days. It wasn’t difficult, there is just a lot of fresh herbs that I had to take off the stems. It takes a long time. I feel better and I’m losing weight. And it’s good to know that after I cook lunch with enough leftover for the rest of the week and then dinner with enough leftover for the rest of the week, my work week is gonna be so much easier. But yes, I do spend most of all day Sunday cleaning, cooking, cleaning cooking, cleaning, cooking … it is definitely not a lazy day. But I do get to rest in between. Yesterday at the farmers market was fun, but sometimes I’ll just go to Winco or Chuck’s to get some of the fruits and veggies. My blood sugar is down my resting heart rate is down. My walking Heart rate is down and my blood pressure is down. I know what I’m putting in my food.

Thought it was a good idea. The App version is difficult to use on my iPad, so I end up having to go out to the website if I want to try to use it. Very cumbersome and time consuming. Since I am the only person on a special meal plan, and many of the recipes are for multiple servings with no ability to adjust, it wastes time. If I add my own recipe, then I have to manually add the ingredients to the shopping list. Seems silly to include baked or fried bacon as a recipe. Waste of time and money. Will not renew and wish I could cancel and get pro-rated refund.

Life Changing App, Super Responsive Support. I bought this app five years ago when I needed help planning and following a restricted diet. It was a game changer then...meal planning and shopping got monumentally easier. I no longer need the restricted diet...no problem for the app. Change my preference settings to include previously restricted foods, bam! New plan. Fast forward five years to a pandemic. I’d have to manually type my grocery list into a store app to place a pickup order. I asked for a grocery store integration. One existed, but the integrated service wouldn’t deliver to me. Waited a month or so, and Bam! Another grocery delivery integration that DOES deliver to me! The developers of this app listen to their clients. Customer support is amazing. Chat is always available to answer questions. Yes, it’s a subscription service. But the money I have saved by eliminating food waste (don’t buy what I don’t need), and the time I save trying to figure out what’s for dinner has been life changing. Have a favorite recipe that’s not in the planner? No problem! You can either type it in manually or imported it seamlessly from the internet. I don’t typically write reviews or make recommendations, but I tell everyone I know about this app, I love it that much.

Repeating meals, not a lot of options. I’ll preface this with, I came from the major meal planner service, which has a ton of developers and recipe makers, tons of recipe options, easy to use app. The drawback was that there wasn’t an option to do AIP or at least remove nightshades, which is an allergen in our household, and 90% of their recipes contain and NEED tomatoes. Being on this allergy trip for a few years, I do have a few swaps up my sleeves (pumpkin purée takes on the flavor of tomato sauce, fyi), but I was getting tired of constantly omitting the tomatoes. So I decided to try real plans. I liked the idea of it, i loved that I can dial in our allergens. There’s a huge list in the settings that I can select or deselect to get the curated foods set directly onto the weekly meal planner. My major major dislike is that the recipes are now repeating, less than a month later, there’s not really much to choose from in general, so there’s not a lot of recipes I can swap in now that we’ve seen a lot of the recipes. And while the kids enjoyed almost all of the recipes from the other service even with me swapping ingredients out, they have been less than enthusiastic about each meal with Real Plans. We’ve only favorited two meals this month out of many. The idea behind this app and planning service is fabulous but the execution and the options just isn’t there, and I wouldn’t have paid as much as I did to sign up had I known.

Most Efficient Way To Meal Plan. What an awesome resource this has been for me! It has been an incredible time saber for me. The fact that you it only feeds you recipes with ingredients that meet the needs for all my dietary restrictions. There are still over a thousand recipes that feed into my weekly meals plans, even with all my restrictions. I don’t have to put any thought into it. It’s simple to change a recipe on your plan, and it’s also slick to upload your own recipes.

Glitches. I use the app daily, I love all the recipes and food. It’s helped me even loose weight and look forward to cooking. However I have had issues with the app randomly canceling my subscription, making me pay double and locking me out of my account. For example I was about to cook dinner tonight and the app locked me out and said I needed to renew my subscription. When I clicked to renew my subscription it wouldn’t allow me to resubscribe because it was registering that I am already subscribed however it won’t allow me onto the app anyways with out purchasing the more expensive subscription along with my current one. So now I have everything to make dinner but no recipe and can not find the recipe online...... I contacted online support and haven’t heard anything back. Their customer service isn’t very good and they don’t take responsibility for the app not working. Last time this happened they told me they couldn’t help and I needed to contact the Apple store. When I contacted the Apple Apple store (on the phone) they confirmed that it was Real Plans responsibility for the app having issues. Thankfully the gal on the phone for Apple ended up finding a way to help me.

App is not as versatile as the website. I think most people go to Real Plans for Whole30 options. I definitely did. But I spent most of my time on the website. The website allows the pantry option and is all-round easier to use. The biggest wish I have is a better way to do the re-integration Slow Roll option. I wish there was an option to choose how long you wanted to do the re-integration and to choose the days for example, the website talk about starting with relaxing sugars in sauces, like re-adding ketchup instead of starting with legumes. Just more streamlined and sleek is what I am wishing for right now.

Infuriating. This app is glitchy, freezes up constantly, and once you decide you don’t want to use it anymore figuring out how to stop it from withdrawing $15 a month from your bank account is impossible. The app doesn’t show up under my subscriptions in the iTunes Store and I don’t see anywhere to discontinue my subscription from within the app itself. So I haven’t been using it for the past three months because of its poor performance but I’ve been paying for it against my wishes. I really wanted to like this app because the thought of having a grocery list generated for me sounded amazing. Unfortunately to use the grocery list you have to open and close the app constantly to get it to work properly. My advice is just buy the Whole30 books and steer clear of this irritating user experience.

Love the app, not the 2019 update. I’ve used this app for a while now and have generally found it really useful for meal planning. I love the new interface with Instacart as well. That said, the bulk of the changes made in the 2019 update have made the app far more cumbersome to use and are less user friendly. The app has been considerably slower and the layout is less convenient. It is harder to pull recipes from past weeks without searching for them again and it is more difficult to browse through recipes if I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for. I still love the app but wish they would return to the old layout as it was quite a bit easier to use.

Wouldn’t recommend. Not even close to worth the amount of money they charge a year! When I first downloaded I was so excited I very quickly found out that it’s very repetitive. Most of the recipes are the same from week to week and is doesn’t even give you a full week of meals and recipes. After the first few weeks I never used it at all and some how missed it auto charging my bank for almost a year. When I realized this I emailed them to see if they would credit me back my last quarterly charge because I canceled it and haven’t used it. They credited me back half of one charge because of you want to cancel they charge you a 14 dollar administrative fee! Are you kidding me?!?! Most places are more then willing to credit more then one charge, these guys didn’t even offer and then charge a 14 dollar fee!

Really annoyed. Joined this for a free month and was so sure that I cancelled the subscription as it was no use to me living in Australia as I couldn’t get half of the ingredients - so now 2 years later realise that I have been paying for this with not a word from this company for nearly 2 years!! very annoyed - please be careful

This is a scam!!!!. They don’t let you cancel and you can’t contact them. They have charged me $63.70 after a “free trial” that I tried to cancel (thought that I succeeded in cancelling). I’ve tried to contact through the app but it’s in a weird recipe loop that gives no other options. Have tried through the website which again is a loop that directs you to the app or social media that I don’t do. Short of cancelling my credit card so that they cannot do this again, I don’t know what to do and can’t afford it. Run away - don’t even try this app.

Makes my days easier. Love this app, I can create a custom meal plan in 10-15 mins for my specific dietary needs: gluten free dairy free, and allergies. I only gave 4 stars as there is no IPad version for this, and cooking from my phone is annoying but I usually print and that’s a lot of paper!

I didn't use it. After the tutorial or tour never opened again.

User friendly. Easy to use, great recipes

Keeps crashing 😕. I’ve used this on pc, and loved it. But keeps crashing on my iPhone and iPad.....

Sync to server?. The app recently started asking me if I wanted to sync the app with the server (or disregard) and then deletes any changes I've made to Shopping List. Please fix

A lifesaver. This app is amazing! It lets you pick exactly the foods you like and also any dietary restrictions you have and formulates a great meal plan. Want to import a recipe from another site? You can do that too! And select days and meal times you would plan for, leaving other nights for on the run meals. The recipes are great and lots to choose from. I don't get bored!

Not Useful. First you need to buy a monthly subscription, then to access any of the recipes in the database you need to subscribe to each different "cookbook" separately at an additional monthly cost. I filled in all my info and then waited while "they applied their magic to my meal plan" and over 3/4 of the meal plan was left blank! The whole point was for the app to be filled with receives and provide suggestions. I got very few suggestions! I unsubscribe but just wasted $19.99(Cdn) just to try this app. Extremely disappointed.

Not Free. Once you try to sign in you are forced to choose a subscription for cost. Should not be listed as free.

Great plans but turn off data!. Chewed through 4gb in 5 days following the app, having it on, making meals etc

App won’t load any longer. Great ideas and recipes... if you can open the app. Waste of money and time.

Useless. Just buy the book with recipes

Life made easy. So many wonderful recipes. I love to cook but have gotten bored with the same old same old. I don't have to search Pinterest to figure out what to make for supper anymore. Plus, the detailed shopping list, so great.

Game changer. Real plans is an amazing app! Great functionality and very responsive to requests for updates/new features. Best option for meal planning by far!!

Game changer!. This update is amazing. Honestly, the biggest weakness of the program was the app and WOW the update is both fast & beautiful. Love this!! Now you can see the plan, timeline and shopping lists in the app and the checklist feature is working so much more quickly. Makes grocery shopping a breeze!

Email not found. So I bought and paid for the whole 30 plan on this app. Received email confirming my payment. Tried to log in, and it’s telling me my email is not found, even though it populated when I went to sign in. I can’t find any information on how to talk to someone about this, since now I’ve wasted more than a day of my time. Super frustrating.

What is happening?. I used to love this app. However, for the last couple of weeks my app does not start up. I have to delete the app and then download it daily. I think it’s time to quit it and move on. I cannot be this frustrated with something I enjoyed so much before!

Limited meal plans/Unrealistic recipes. First, this is an app aimed at capitalizing on fad or highly specialized diets. Looking for a Mediterranean Diet plan? They ain’t got it. Apparently, the diet needs to be vital the past two years to qualify. Second, some of these recipes are not realistic for the average person. The health/fitness nut will do all of them but the average person will not and should not. Their lunch recipes are what most people would describe as a once a month nice dinner. It’s a means to make a buck. They googled a bunch of recipes and just threw them together and focused on the most recent viral fad diets. Don’t waste your time or money. They deserve neither.

App not as friendly as the computer. Love Real Plans, but the app has a long way to go to catch up to the computer version, especially for people who import recipes.

App is poorly designed & recipes awful. Unfortunately there were at least 2 meals I had to completely throw out because the recipes were so inaccurate. Also, when I went to cancel the subscription the cancel button was so far down the page, after a long list of unwanted ads. Then there was no confirmation it canceled. Stuck with another month paying for horrible recipes.

Frustrating, unhelpful and a waste of time -do not believe the 10 day free trial promise. If you use Apple to login to apps and hide your email as I do, you CAN NOT receive the ten day guaranteed money back refund. Their answer is “ask Apple for a refund”. You can not try their app without paying for it. Unless you are on Whole 30 I would recommend against using this app. My friend who recommended it does whole 30 and I definitely do not and found frustrating, unhelpful and a waste of time. Now I’m supposed to waste my time trying to get a hold of Apple what a joke.

Horrible service/Cancellation nightmare. I did not receive assistance when asked. They only assumed. I left a message asking to be called and communication was only over email. False information is given on how to cancel the account. I had attempted to cancel through the app and could not find out how. Chat was not helpful and I was told to cancel through iTunes. This WAS not correct. Not worth the hassle to have this app. There are other apps and websites to get the information provided.

Fantastic App. I love how easy it is to use Real Plans app. The food is delicious and it has helped me to stick to eating healthy food. Bravo Real Plans!

I love Real Plans ❤️. It is truly amazing what Real Plans can do for your meal planning, grocery shopping and meal preparation. I’ve been using Real Plans for over a year now and I’m learning new things it can do all the time. Well done Real Plans!

Best thing ever. This app has changed my life! We are a family of six, and dinner used to be my enemy! Now, I just shop once a week and know I have everything I need for every meal in my fridge. The food is delicious and my family is stoked. I love it so much I could cry!

iPhone app messed up my online plan. I set everything up online using the website, including types of food I wanted to exclude. Had a great meal plan, then I logged in using the app and it made me go through the entire set up process again and changed my entire meal plan. That was pretty frustrating. The service itself is great, though.

Love it!!!. Real Plans makes my life sooo much easier!! I work full time but still want decent meals and an organized way of living. Real Plans helps me accomplish this. I love having my grocery list all ready for me on my phone too. No paper list to remember and needing a pen handy in my purse. Real Plans is SO worth it!!

Glitchy. Had a really bad experience with this app. The set up and grocery list function is not intuitive, and makes it hard to track. Many of my “favorited” meals disappear and are no longer highlighted. I unsubscribed. Save your money and just google whole 30 recipes.

Game changer. I love how easy this app makes meal planning! Tons of recipe and diet options and the fact that they make the grocery lists for you is amazing. Do it- you won’t regret it!

Repetitive recipes with little food variety. So disappointed with this “whole30 “ app. Second week beef hotdogs were on the menu. There isn’t anything wrong with a hotdog once in a while, but NOBODY buys an app so they can make a hot dog. Sweet potatoes are the side dish for every three meals. Healthy eating should be a variety of foods and certainly should not include processed meat. Need more vegetables in meal plan.

Need a version for the iPad. An app that is developed for an iPhone doesn’t always translate well to the iPad. I have vision issues and needed the bigger screen so downloaded to my iPad only to find that it’s the same size and the only option is vertical not horizontal.

No free trial. This app is an absolute joke. I tried to get the 14 day free trial and it literally just goes strait to the payment page. Now I’m trying to delete my payment info and I’m unable to because the app requires at least one payment be made. What a dumpster fire.

Helps a lot when trying to eat three meals a day. I have trouble eating all three main meals of the day and with an active lifestyle, Ive run into trouble. RealPlans has helped me plan my meals beforehand to fit eating into my schedule again.

Absolutely worth it. This app and the website are fantastic! It works like a dream, and I love that I can tag recipes so I can cycle by food family (for LEAP), and upload and edit my own recipes (so I can SCD-ize recipes). The auto-shopping list and timeline features are really useful. I’m also really impressed by the customer service!

App not easy, charged me an extra quarter. Sadly, the app was not easy to make changes and actually use. I was able to do the 30 days thanks to the book recipes. Charged me for another quarter after cancellation. Would not recommend.

Great Idea, Terrible Mobile App. Being new to following an AIP diet, I was glad to find Real Plans to help me get started. The computer interface is pretty good, however, I am rarely at my computer and this mobile app is awful, practically unusable - or at least cumbersome enough to not make it worth my time. Surely for the amount of money I paid for a subscription they could have developed something much better than this. I will be canceling.

Can't cancel ever otherwise good. God help you if you ever want to cancel and you pay through Apple account. It's worse than dealing with an old fashion phone company or cable customer service. No joke. The hassle isn't worth it. Too bad. The app is otherwise good. Real plans says sorry, throws up hands and says call Apple. Guess what Apple says? Yup. Call real plans. Get the picture?

Needs a lot of work. This app needs a lot of work! It makes Realplans more difficult to use. Even writing this review is hard because what I’m typing is in a white font on a white background Am unlikely to renew my plan.

Expensive and Not Effective. The plan cost which is not the biggest problem but the grocery list is crazy expensive. Meal plans don’t include consist meal types during the weeks so you’re spending a ton on food. The app help chat feature doesn’t work and I’ve cancelled this plan but it’s still trying to charge me and because the app cliches i can’t fix it.

Convenient. This app is great at providing usually delicious meals especially when you are bound to limited ingredients due to food allergies. Took me a couple days to get used to using the app efficiently however that could be said for most apps.

Time saver. The 24 hour customer service is amazing. They actually know the recipes and can answer tech questions or cooking questions. I use this app for my weekly meal planning and shopping and for party and holiday planning.

Most recent upgrade is horrible. I loved this app when I first got it. It was very user friendly and made my meal planning and shopping so much easier and more efficient. The most recent upgrade to the app is so not user friendly that I’m considering canceling my subscription. I wish Real Plans would issue an “upgrade” that would take the app back to the previous version.

Great idea, customized settings are buggy. Like this app but advanced settings (food exclusions, tags) often don’t take. Had to get support to reset from their end. After that I just had to fiddle with different settings hoping something would trigger an overwrite. I subscribed to the whole 30 plans.

Makes AIP delicious and so much easier. Recipes so far are great. Shopping list. Add to instant cart or fresh. AIP is a transition by itself. This app helps so much!

Not easy to use. I found this app too challenging to use. Plus, way to many different subscriptions depending on food. Then, when I went to unsubscribe I was given the wrong information and so ended up paying for 2 months I did not use. Because it was such a challenge to work with them, they got my money and I gave up. Hope it is really unsubscribes now.

Love if!. I live the ease and convenience of these meal plans. I’m not a very good cook but I can make these recipes and they taste great!

Bad interface. The navigation on this app is not good. There is no way to easily go through and select what Diet to choose from, there are a few and what is good on one diet is not good on all. The menu selections are quite limited, and it tries to auto-populate a week at a time, without letting you select what to keep or what to remove. No iPadOS version (it is 2019 for cryin’ out loud!), way to expensive, and not intuitive at all.

Endlessly Loads. Got the app to do the meal plans for a Whole30 month, it just endlessly loads the silly bowl of hearts when I try to load the required grocery lists or edit my profile, but the actual meal plan tab works somehow. Not a functional app.

Cannot login. My payment on the app did not somehow get to real plans and now I was told to purchase the plan again and iTunes should not charge me? If your app can’t take payments from Apple properly why offer it? What a rip off!

Very Dissapointed. The app itself is not the problem, I realized it is not for me. But to get the money back guarantee they advertise(30 days) using an iPhone is VERY DIFFICULT. I cannot believe the loop holes I must jump through and am very upset. I will be discouraging everyone I know not to get this app.

Love Real Plans!!!. Couldn’t live without it!! Keep up the good work. I love that I can get many many delicious recipes for my gluten-free diet. Thanks so much!!!

Where’s the add ingredient?. I’ve been using this app for some time and loved it but with the new update I can’t add a single ingredient and have it add to my shopping list. The only options it gives me are recipes and notes. Please add the “add ingredient” back.

Gamechanger. Fabulous recipes, clear instructions. Makes it so easy to eat well.

Buyer Beware. Upon purchase I quickly realized this app wasn’t for me. You’re not able to control total calories and the company wants an extra $5/month to add macro tracking. I reached out to cancel because the company advertises a “10-day money back guarantee” but I was denied a refund because I purchased through the App Store. Not at all satisfied with the product or their handling of the response. Glad I only bought one month of access rather than a full year. I’ll be disputing this charge.

Great app. I love this App. I like to set up my weekly schedules on the website and use my phone for the recipes and grocery list. The only thing I don’t like is that they recently changed the format of the app and website. I hate what they changed it too. I preferred the older version.

Wanted to try it.... but it won't even let me start my 14 day free trial offer. I put my information in and it just gives me a loading screen for a minute and never goes any further. Disappointing.

Yummy Food. The recipes are delicious and I’m enjoying the app. One thing I don’t like is there isn’t a way to share the recipe.

Unable to cancel subscription. I followed the guide for canceling the subscription but the subscription doesn’t show up in my Apple ID however a payment still came out of my account for it I am not using the app and I do t know what to do to cancel please help.

Full of bugs. I downloaded the app to use it for Whole30 meal planning. Within a few minutes of using it, it clearly had a bunch of bugs that made it unusable. I immediately emailed to get a refund and was told that they can not give me one. Don’t trust an app that doesn’t give you a trial period.

Difficult to use. I tried this app for the Whole Food 30 meal plans; I found it difficult to use; I didn’t see a built in tutorial; I had a couple of chats with the support team and they were helpful. I decided this app wasn’t for me.

Won’t allow me to cancel subscription. I signed up for the monthly subscription, but i don’t find it worthwhile. App won’t allow me to cancel the subscription. I want it canceled NOW!!!

Bummer about the onboarding. We’ll it’s not a great start. Just paid for a plan and down loaded the app, which is asking me to schedule a meal to unlock the rest of the app, which would be great IF I COULD GET THE SCHEDULER TO WORK. I’m really hopi h this gets fixed asap so I can actually try the app! Looks promising but total UX fail so far!!

Fodmap. If you are looking for a fodmap meal planner this is not for you. Prior to signing on, Fodmap is included in their advertising. Comes up in a fodmap search. Once I subscribed to the app there is not an option. I canceled immediately, within 5 minutes. Still looks like I’m in the hook for the month.

Love but crashing. App keeps crashing when I try to update schedule! I’m on a 13 with latest iOS

App used to be better. The app is confusing now. I miss the “shelf” when I wanted to shift meals. It’s also confusing pulling up the next’s menu or shopping cart that I’ve already planned. I’ve accidentally overwritten the meal plan just trying to access the menu or plan outside of the current week. Questioning if it’s still worth the $10+/mth I pay.
