Visually impaired viewers beware!. I am giving them one star rating only because it was easy to get through to customer service and the representative was polite. This app does not work with voiceover. I tried using it with voice over about a year or two ago and it did not work and in spite of even recent upgrades they still have not corrected the problem. When I asked The customer service representative if they were aware that it did not work with voiceover, he said that they had had numerous comments about it but he still has no idea if or when they will get around to correcting the problem. I guess they do not want money from someone who is visually impaired. I would highly encourage anyone to drop their subscription. The only reason I was able to call Customer Service was because they sent me the number in an email when I initially told them about my problem with not being to access the app.

OK improvement. Update: Crashing every time launched under iOS 11.3. Apple TV version frequently fails to connect, requiring log out and back in, restarting the Apple TV, or both. Nothing but canned, usually inapplicable replies from tech support and no updates. If Acorn wasn’t the only place some of this content was available, I’d have cancelled my subscription by now. Avoid this service if you can find the content you want anywhere else. ————- So far it looks good, though there were several aspects of the previous version, including the ability to select a search and see just the episodes in that season rather than the new version which has all the seasons and episodes in a single list with no ability to just view a single season’s episodes. Time will tell whether this version is stable in it’s current release and whether it’s more reliable with AirPlay then the previous releases tended to be. I’m also very hopeful of an app for the 4th-generation Apple TV so that I don’t have to stream from my iPad.

Awesome Content if you can access. The programming is wonderful, when I have access. I signed up for an annual membership because I love all the programs Acorn TV offers. However, I am not able to access half the time. First, I get a pop up to sign in with my iTunes account, which if I just press “ok”, it sometimes plays the show I want to see. However, For at least 50% of the time, once I get pass that message, I get a pop up message that I need to subscribe and it won’t let me get pass it, even though my subscription clearly doesn’t expire until next year! Just don’t understand why this is the only streaming App that can’t get it together tech-wise, because it really does have awesome concert once your able to access.

Still a few flaws. I really love the shows that are on Acorn except for the fact that they don’t always have all the seasons. I watch many new shows and would like to watch all the seasons not just the latest one. Also, why have a resume option if it is not going to work and if a show is paused for just a minute too long, it shows a screen that says there have been technical difficulties so you have to back out of it completely, go back to the episode and now find your place because it automatically starts back at the beginning. I watch on my iPad. These small fixes would make the experience so much better.

Used to be good...what happened??. I’ve been using the acorn tv app with chromecast and up till a couple of weeks ago it worked just fine. Then it suddenly wouldn’t play anything. I gave it a few days and then emailed acorn. It took them SIX DAYS to respond and then it was a “form letter” saying they were aware of the problem and were “diligently” working on it. It’s been another week or two since then and it still isn’t working—but my charge card was charged for the service nonetheless! Now it seems worse—it won’t even recognize my chrome cast anymore. I know it isn’t the chrome cast as Netflix works just fine. Get it fixed, acorn—it was fine before, so undo whatever you did to make it not work!

Extreme lag in accessing programming. Really into British programming, and was going to give myself an early Christmas gift of both AcornTV, and Britbox. Now Britbox isn’t exactly Netflix concerning ease of use, but it is more reliable than the Acorn TV app. Tried several times to bring up the specs for particular programs to add to my favorites list, and either there was an extremely long wait or it didn’t load at all. And the results were consistent with my phone, tablet, and streaming devices (all Apple products). REALLY wanted this to work. Was ready to pay for the entire year in advance, but the cons majorly outweigh the pros at the moment. Will keep trying through the free trial, but if the outcome remains the same, the frustration (not to mention cost) isn’t worth it.

Terrible, awful, very bad. Don’t even try! This is one of the worst apps I have ever tried to use. We stream via Chromecast, and I have had no trouble with other apps. However, most of the time the app won’t work at all with Chromecast. I have to go through a long and annoying resetting sequence with my phone, the TV, and the Chromecast device and even then the app resets only occasionally. When it works, it locks up about half of the time and I have no access to controls like pause or rewind. I was spending up to a half hour just to get a program started. I contacted customer service and was told to access the program through Google Home, but Google Home showed had no indication I was watching anything in Acorn. After many frustrating hours I gave up and stream from the Acorn website. No problems with that process, so far.

The BEST!. I’ve been subscribing to acorn for several years. I loved watching all of the of Murdoch Mysteries, I have watched every episode of Midsomer murders, and this week I just finished Monsieur Spade. For the price you cannot beat the selection offered by Acornand the ease to use it. I started watching M. Spade on Prime and watched the first episode and then they wanted $2.99 for each of the next five episodes. I was overjoyed to find them on Acorn! With acorn there are no sudden extra fees you pay your monthly fee and that’s that.

Please remove the distracting home bar. I like the choice of content from Acorn Tv. There’s a great mix of british and beyond programming. A good selection of ( old) Vintage and new shows and fantastic originals, like Loch Ness. The app works well for me so far except for the very distracting and bright gone bar light at the bottom of the screen. I know it’s possible to remove it because every other streaming video service makes it fade away in a few seconds and Apple told me “ it’s the developers choice” to keep it constantly on screen. It’s like having a Starwars light saber in my line of vision. I’d be sorry if I had to cancel my subscription over it. Please remove in an update soon.

Poor app design and content. Dear Acorn: I want to love your app and subscription. But poor design, execution and limited assets that you release make it unattractive. Please consider making your app to be fully integrated with Apple TV, Siri Remote and the TV app in iOS. Your app is a poor experience on any platform right now. I am not alone in my opinion and I hope to appeal to you to enhance the experience for folks who know that you can do better. Also, it looks like you hold tight to your assets. However in doing so, you are making it clear that you do not place the customer at the center of everything that you do. For example, why is only some of your Poirot Collection available and not all? It’s shameful. Why do you not allow full screen viewing? Why do you not allow picture-in-picture in your app? Why do you still have problems with subtitles? Thanks in advance for letting me provide feedback.

Using this with AppleTV is very frustrating. I have tried the app in the past and ended up deleting it because of issues. I decided to try again (a year later) and it’s still not right. I can watch some things fine but others won’t work at all. For example, I wanted to watch ‘Lady Chatterly’s Lover’ with Sean Bean. It won’t load at all on Appletv but it works on my phone. There are others I tried and won’t open as well. I opened ‘Doc Martin’ and it works fine but I can watch that on plutoTv for free so not worth subscribing. I’ve tried all sorts of troubleshooting I found online but nothing works, and since I don’t want to watch on my phone, I will delete again. A waste of time and$6.99. Britbox is great for those of you who are having the same problems as I am.

My Go to Place. I love A&E online; I hate A & E on the TV.! Why? TV A&E was lovely: shows showed quality; shows taught the audience; shows piqued the audience to look for more information; the topics were of historical interest; cultural interest; literary interest; culinary Interest; musical interest; architectural interest….and what ISthe TV programs now? Asinine, vulgar subjects and idiotic people. Of course, my saying all that is a “tell” that I am in my 70s. Tough, just deal with it! A & E online provides tales of mystery, travel to beautiful settings, interesting, involving crimes, delicious culinary programs and programs about our fragile earth, etc. I hope I pass on before the quality is the online A & E does.

So Many Good Program(me)s. When ACORN first became available as a streaming service, their offer to try it gave me the time to acclimate to their content. From George Gently to No Offence, Line of Duty and to Brokenwood Mysteries, and more, you’ll discover some of the best writers and actors in Irish, British, Australian, New Zealand, French, the Nordic countries, Spain, and other European counties. I’m a fan because ACORN provides a difference view of TV. With a couple of rare exceptions, I just found American TV so predictably formulaic and uncreatively acted that my interest lagged and dragged. Hard to be entertained when you’ve figured out this week’s episode within the first five minutes. ACORN led me also to other creative streaming services, but none better than ACORN.

Worst customer service ever. After months of happy viewing, something went wrong. I began to get double billed for my subscription, billed by my subscription through iTunes, and then billed directly by acorn. I never signed up directly with acorn, only with iTunes. So I canceled my subscription with acorn, considering that I already had in place an iTunes subscription. Well this is when the horror started. The app indicates that my subscription is canceled, but my iTunes subscription is active. I have been struggling with this for months and I cannot get a straight answer out of their customer service desk. They simply refuse to understand what I am talking about. There is no way to include screenshots when trying to send them messages. And yes there is no restore a purchase link on the home screen. I personally don’t think you can pay for your subscription through iTunes. I think you can download the app from the iTunes Store, but you have to pay acorn directly. The iTunes subscription does not work with this app. I talked to Apple at length about this problem and they are as mystified as I am. It almost seems like there is a scam or some sort of bait and switch problem. There is no Acorn customer service phone number, impossible to speak to a live person, and you will never ever make any sense out of whatever robot you interact with at the help desk.

Hand Across the Water. Having lived and worked in the UK for many years, as well as other European countries, I cherished British television as well as the many foreign language films that would be broadcast via British television services. Very funny thing that I thought about when knowing that I would eventually be returning to the US was, Oh No, what will I do without my much loved programming. Never a fan of American tv, I was bereft. With all great fortune and progress in bridging television service, I was saved! The early systems were a bit complicated with boxes and VPS, but I didn’t care, I would have done anything to gain access to world class television entertainment. Here with Acorn I have such a broad range of quality productions, and now with ability to stream we no longer need wait six months or more to see shows that are in real time. A customer who is as pleased as punch; and make mine a Pimms.

Do NOT sign up through Apple. My account page on Acorn TV and the sign-up email they sent me both indicate I shouldn’t be charged for one week because of their trial period. Apple, however, charged me instantaneously. And while they can charge in an instant, my request for a refund will take 48 hours to “review.” Apple’s insatiable drive for more and more money is taking the company to some really sad places. I wonder when it will ever be enough and they will start to care about their customers again. Sorry that their greed is costing Acorn TV my subscription.

Not worth it. If you are running the latest software update, forget it. This app will not let you in. If you try logging into your existing account it will keep telling you that your email or password are incorrect. Trying to reset your password? Good luck with that too. That option will not let you complete either. Acorn will however let you into your account if you do it via their website, thereby bypassing the app. This app needs a major overhaul and total revamp since the last system update. Last year I opted for the annual subscription, but I think I will cancel and maybe revert to the monthly option, or maybe not! UPDATE: It’s working again at last. I get royally brassed off with apps that do this, which is a shame really because I love the fabulous content. So for the content, I would amend the rating to 3*.

Wonderful app? At first yes, but not now!. We love this app so much, we opted for the annual subscription. However, the more we got into a series the worse the navigation got. Nice feature: the app kept tract of the episodes, at first. Bad feature: now that we are into the series, the app does NOT accurately keep tract of our viewing. And if we try to select the correct episode, we get kicked out of the app. Second problem: we subscribed via the google app on our smart tv. We did not set up our account directly in the acorn app. Now, I am trying to view the acorn tv via my iPad, but acorn tv does not recognize my email, so I have no access! So between these two problems, our viewing experience is down the toilet. And yes we have contacted support, but they say the first problem is resolved! Well if that is so, then why did we experience the above problem again just 5 minutes ago? If we can only see the first few episodes of a program, then what is the point of subscribing to what appears to be a wonderful app? If this is not resolved soon, then we will be forced to cancel our annual subscription!

Different from the mainstream services. I like Acorn because it offers shows that are not available elsewhere such as Doc Martin and Murdoch Mysteries. It’s pretty heavy on crime drama, but there are originals, miniseries, comedies and documentaries, and I found quite a bit to watch. I’m using an Apple TV, and the streaming quality is excellent. There is a free trial, and the subscription is reasonably priced. It might be a service to use for a few months at a time and cycle in and out to supplement other services. I would like to see more movies, but that’s the only thing lacking. They are owned by AMC Networks, and it might be nice to see this rolled into Sundance Now or AMC Plus similar to Max or Paramount Plus.

Keeps crashing. This is much better than my previous review. However, it has one major problem. For some reason it will suddenly go back 10 or 15 seconds and replay the old soundtrack or even video over the new which I was currently watching. It does this on all shows and it does not show a pattern. Keeps crashing suddenly and repeatedly while streaming. Also crashes while watching on device. Ignores start where you left off when you shut it down normally and starts at the beginning requiring you to figure out where you had to stop so that's hit or miss since there is no preview when you look for it. I love Acorn but this app is barely functional. Now it's having emotional problems with the fact I pay on their site. The app is stopping me from streaming and asking me to get a membership via apple. I have to enter account on the app which tells me that I have a membership, then go to the home page and search for the show I want. THEN it will play. Does not offer to play next episode. I have had this app before last year and it worked. Now it's a hot mess

Excellent value. Note: this app was excellent till Apple/iTunes locked me out! I have All Device Access subscription that I can use anywhere and everywhere else Except iPad. Not AcronTV's fault, 100% Apple problem!!!! Love Brit, Aussie, Kiwi telly and this fits the billI appreciate getting access to my favorite shows faster than waiting for Masterpiece Theatre. Acorn, directly from their website vs iTunes, offers sweet deal when you subscribe for full year in advance. Plus I can access via multiple devices. Selection could be better, especially from down under, but they are stepping up their offerings over the last year. Streaming is typically flawless- when bandwidth allows- so not an Acorn issue, always the internet connection. Acorn is by far the best value, most reliable and most diverse streaming channel, app, out there.

Crashes.. The app has been crashing lately. I watch an episode of something, the countdown to the next episode starts, but the app just crashes instead of playing the next episode. I have the newest iOS, I’ve tried logging out and in again, deleted the app and reinstalled it, even shutting down my iPad completely and turning it back on again with no luck. This app hasn’t been updated in a month, maybe it’s time to do that? This is normally a 5 star app.

iPhone iPad app NOT WORKING. I received your reply several weeks later and it still says “email or password error”. Too bad. Why did y’all change it? It used to work. So I’m updating my review. It’s June 1,2018 and the app still doesn’t work. It did work for the free month trial then once I began paying it stopped casting?!?!? What did you change? I have Chromecast and it used to work. Can you please respond to me at least?!?!? Thank you. So Acorn works on my Roko TVs but not on my iPhone or iPad Air!!!! Please fix this. I purposely purchased your apps so I can watch while traveling now it doesn’t work. 5/2/18 and still says “no content available “ and “error wrong password or login”. What the heck??? I watch Acorn all the time so this is unacceptable. I deleted apps and repurchased them still the update isn’t working. No customer service number to call. What’s up Acorn!!

Why can’t they just get this simple app to work!!!!!. Sooo many subscribers really want this app to work on Apple TV, yet, this company just doesn’t get it. Total incompetence has to be the only explanation. Please Netflix, buy this out and make some money along the way! Do not subscribe, it will just cost you money to get totally frustrated. Read all the reviews, the only app that works occasionally is the IOS version, but, that is broken too. It goes into the circle of death almost always. They do not even track what you have watched, and even after you delete the app and reinstall, it only works for one viewing. Oh yeh, the free trial works, but then, once you pay, forget about it. If I were any of the actors or producers of the content, I would have fired Acorn along time ago. It’s like stealing from them, Nuf said, Sooo sad, sob, bye!

Better than Brit Box!. After living in Belgium for two years and spending part of a summer in Australia, I miss British humor and television. My husband gave me Brit Box for Christmas last year. It was good. This year he gave me Acorn. The two don’t even compare. Acorn is way better! Huge selection. Now I’m watching shows from New Zealand and planning a trip. I love the way shows on Acorn allow you to feel immersed in a foreign culture, to the point when you visit a new place it will feel familiar. Thank you for selecting a wide variety of shows and movies for my viewing pleasure!

Terrific Programs; Decent App. I’m surprised at all the reviews with issues since I’ve had no issues with the app (except for me forgetting the password at one time). We’ve absolutely enjoyed the tremendous number of excellent shows available (Detectorists, Good Karma Hospital, 800 Words, The Heart Doctor, A Place to Call Home have been some of my favorite shows of all time). We’re planning to drop our cable TV subscription since there are several streaming apps that provide us with enough high quality entertainment for a long time, and AcornTV is our favorite.

American Senior Perspective. I could not be more delighted with Acorn. We have a large family of grown children who enjoy family comedy, murder light, and particularly the beautiful coastlines of all British territory. We do hope that you are not swept up in the dark twisted mysteries with nothing but unhappy characters living victimized lives. If we want that we will turn to the news. No, subscribers have a dire need for feel good scripts with gifted hero’s (with perhaps a vein of weakness, but overcome with talent, looks and brains) who win in the end. With all said, we love Acorn TV

Excellent Programs. I just happened to come across a TV station with a variety of TV shows I like. As I was reading reviews for the shows I came across other viewers saying how good the AcornTV app was. So I went into the app and sure enough all the shows I watch daily were on the app. I so do enjoy watching all the shows that are available to me without commercials that I purchased a yearly subscription to AcornTV. In addition I’m able to watch my shows in CC, close caption, as my hearing is very bad. If you are retired and have tried to watch daytime TV you know it’s very boring but AcornTV will certainly keep you entertained. I just love it. Thank you, Rose P, Philadelphia, PA USA

I absolutely LOVE Acorn TV, but utterly LOATHE this *multiple expletives deleted* app!. Why in blue blazes does this app not work with Apple screen mirroring?! The screen mirrors fine until I click ‘play’ on the video in the app on my tablet, then the picture cuts out on my TV and the screen goes black and I get audio from the TV but the video only plays on the app. ?!?!?! Seriously people, you need to fix this problem for your app to be at all usable by a lot of folks these days. I don’t have this trouble with the apps of other streaming services, just the Acorn TV app, so I know it’s a problem with this app specifically. To answer a question before you can ask, yes, I allowed access to Bluetooth on my iPad Proas requested by the app. It made no difference, the video still does not play in screen mirroring, all I get is audio. In all honesty, if this problem can’t be fixed, I’m going to have to discontinue my Acorn TV subscription, which I DO NOT want to do! My Centurylink DSL will soon be going the way of the Dodo, leaving my cell phone’s internet capabilities as the most viable option. Since this app doesn’t work with screen mirroring, it is essentially utterly worthless to me until this issue is addressed and corrected.

Acorn tv on Apple TV has one big glitch. We have been loyal users of acorn tv for years. Acorn tv works fine on the iPad Pro. But on Apple TV there is one big problem. For months now I can only see 2 of the banners for the New & Featured when you open the app. And the same while using it. The rest are blacked out. Streaming speed on the WiFi is high HD. We stream only and this out of the numerous apps we have is the only one that does this. I have tried resetting the app by deleting it and the reinstalling or signing in or out which is a big headache. Please fix this. I’m stating to avoid the app. In addition to that we now pay $6.99 for an app that has problems functioning. Please fix it.

Broken again on computer and Apple TV. It works now on all devices, finally, though I will never understand the management process that made the customer experience so bad. And I am still surprised that they did not contact users who had written or called them. Now it works, and content is good. But unlike other streaming we use, Acorn is unique in not making it easy to see where we left off in watching episodes. This is not a good way to be unique. Recent review: First Acorn removed essential functionality (tracking progress on series, for example). Then the app stops working with iPads and iPhones. Then the app stops working with Apple TV. And through it all Acorn decides not to reach out to customers to describe the situation and their progress, and not to tell customers that their remaining option is to log in on web browser. So, self-created technical problems compounded by a poor customer service decision. I think Acorn is shooting itself in the foot. I wonder what will happen to # subscribers, and how many will take this as a signal to try Britbox. An addition to my review from a week ago. At that time Acorn sent me an email telling me they had reset my password and that the app would work with the reset password. It did not. I just received the exact same message. And exactly like before, nothing changes with the reset password. This feels a bit like like the Keystone Cops.

Great app. I first signed up for this app when I was on my iMac through the internet. Worked fine on my iMac but when I went to use it on my Apple TV it didn’t recognize me, no matter how many times I tried. So I canceled my subscription and deleted the app on my TV. I was really disappointed. I waited several months then downloaded the app on my Apple TV again. This time I signed up through the app on my Apple TV and now it works perfectly. I love the shows it offers. I watch very few network broadcasts now except the news. I watch almost exclusively acorn tv only. Try it you will love it. My only question now is how do you find out if a show will have new seasons added. I love “The Heart Guy”. Please tell me there will be a season 3.

Not enough new content. Bad closed captioning. I had this app three years ago, and most of the titles are the same. Very few new shows, and way too many foreign titles. Worse is that I have to restart in the closed captioning after EVERY episode. Why? That is just ridiculous. Hate that. When I’m done with Brokenwood Mysteries, I’m canceling. Again, FIX THE CAPTIONING. Shame on you for such poor captioning. Your algorithm stinks, too. I hate when you question if I’m still watching when I’ve hit the play button.

Great App - When it Works. I’ve had this app on and off for years and while the content is great being able to access it seems to be an issue. The main page of the app always loads, but anything you try to click on after that is greeted with a black screen (which suggests it is loading but nothing ever appears). Another - more recent- problem is that although I have a subscription (through iTunes) when I try and log on thru the acorn tv webpage it says that I have no membership, and offers to sell me one. If the technical problems were fixed this would be one of my favourite apps, but until then I will most likely be cancelling my subscription.

Recently Watched. I love Acorn but hate the fact I can’t get rid of shows I recently watched. For ruko you click on (*) up comes a screen to remove from list and continue watching. I click remove from recently watched. Nothing happens, app is always up to date. I’ll remove app and reinstall, still won’t go away. I’ve tried on many TVs, my phone, and laptops, still does not work. My recently watched shows no longer renewed or older shows. I’ll go back to the shows and get it to go to the end, still won’t remove. I’ve had this problem since Help (show) came out. I’ve emailed about this, never getting a proper answer, or help. Need to update the app with an easier way of removing recently watched.

I would had give it 5 start but I couldn’t. When I got this app I was supper exited because I had started watching a series called Hidden on prime then when I got done watching season 1 I found out I couldn’t watch it, because I had to be subscribed to Acorn TV. So I was a bit upset but I said fine I’ll get the App. Finally I get the App I finished Hidden and I am so hooked into this App with all the AMAZING series they got here but now my problem is that I can’t seem to be able to connect to my TV. Everything worked fine nothing has been touched or loved but I can’t watch it on my TV only on my phones. And when I try to connect my phones to the TV screen stay black with the Acorn TV sign on and nothing comes on. Deleted app and re installed still nothing. But I can watch other things from my phone to tv but no Acorn TV. Thank you for the hopes up! I guess I’ll be canceling the membership because I sure don’t like to watch shows on my phone, sorry.

Streaming format review. Watching Acorn tv on my phone is great! However the folks that format the streaming via tv could work on the tv streaming. None of my other streaming services have the issues that Acorn Tv seem to have which is: constantly having to restart the tv to start the show I’d like to watch, not being able to watch some of the shows at all, having to soft boot my tv to watch a particular show, a show stopping a going back to the main screen multiple times for no known reason. BritBox, Prime nor none of the other streaming services have these issues. I wish Acorn would fix whatever their problems are because I love their shows.

There should be a next episode/resume watching area. Sigh. As other reviews state, this app just isn’t set up like other similar apps. Let me use an extreme example to complain: Midsomer Murders, which currently has 20 seasons! And I want to watch the most recent season, so every time I want to watch a new episode I have to go into the show and scroll down and down and down and down and over in order to find the season and episode I want. Another simple complaint? There’s no need for the exaggerated largeness of the show blocks when you are scrolling through shows. Because of the scale increase on any show you have selected, you can’t read anything in its vicinity immediately above or below. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??? Trailer options are pretty awesome though. And so are the show selections.

Terrific shows, but. I'm having trouble managing my subscription. I'll figure it out somehow. The description of how to cancel is just wrong. I did send a message. If I just delete the channel will it cancel the subscription? I must have subscribed to your channel with iTunes, they send the bill. If I delete the channel from my iPad will it cancel the subscription? I'm just going to go with the Roku - I figured that one out. Totally stumped with Apple - I think it's Apple that's making this problem, probably with their updates - but it might be me as well. Aaaargh!!! On your help page I "clicked for Apple support and was helped immediately. Now I know how. The problem is when I went into iTunes it did not acknowledge Acorn TV. Just for your info.

App quit working on iPad and iPhone-long time subscriber leaving. I have been an Acorn subscriber for several years and my preferred way to view Acorn TV has been the Acorn app from iTunes on my IPad and iPhone. I travel a great deal and I enjoy having my favorite shows available to me even when I leave the U.S. However, I have not been able to use the app on either device for 4 or 5 months. I get a pop up that says I need to "update my profile" but when I put in my login and p/word, it says "unable to update profile". I had contacted Acorn through the email provided on the app and received a response within a few weeks stating that they were looking into my problem. I have not heard from anyone since. Support is non existent. The only thing they do well is collect the subscription fee.

Enjoyable. Truly enjoyed my subscription to acorn to the point I neglected to watch the shows I recorded on my replay device. I do wish they wouldn’t classify some things as comedy which really aren’t though. Feels like a scrawny person showing off their muscles. Play to your strengths please of which there are many even if your comedy selection is lacking. Many of the shows I enjoyed the most were produced by acorn themselves though having midsomer and some other external content helped a lot.

Better than American entertainment.. I want to be honest! Back in my days we couldn’t wait for the newest James Dean, John Wayne, Robert Redford, Paul Newman movie to come to the theaters. I always thought Germany does not have anything to offer that could stand with it. By now I live over thirty years in the US. And truth to be told, our entertainment has nothing to offer today. I watched far too many shows and German movies on You Tube or any other foreign movie that trump what we have to offer. „Flipped“ is one rare exception lately. But all we can show off with is staged, trivial, dramatic and predictable. While European movies may be considered slow, they take time to flesh out the characters so that you really get deep into the story. For that I love Acorn or Britbox or any other of them. Even my daughter who is not much into what I’m watching admitted that the acting is more true to how people in reality act than all the shows that she ever watches.

Worst App Ever. I’ve been using various computer apps for some 35 years, and the Acorn TV app for the Apple TV is the worst app I’ve ever had to use. To begin, the menu system is completely illogical and user hostile. Unlike, Netflix, with the Acorn app for Apple TV once you have selected the program you want (not always easy with the execrable new Apple TV remote), you then get to try and figure out which episode is next in the queue because Acorn doesn’t bother to queue up the next one. You still have to figure out which one it is, with no clues whatsoever. Just finding the program itself is sometimes a challenge. If you go to the recently watched list, and click on the program you want, rather than bringing up the overview screen for the program (from which you can at least begin your search for the next episode to watch), it just starts the episode you’ve already watched. And if you hit the go-back button, it just bumps you back out to the home screen rather than the more logical overview screen for that program. To top off the fun, it will, as often as not, simply refuse to play a program no matter how many times you hit enter on the pad portion of the remote. I end up AirPlaying it from my iPad. The Acorn App for the Apple TV is completely broken. Which is a shame because the app for the iPad and iPhone — a completely different app — is quite good, And the programming is brilliant. If you can get it to play. Shameful!

Apple home bar at bottom of screen does not go away. That’s right, when watching a show through the app the white apple home bar does not disappear like in every other streaming service. So, you are forced to watch a show with a permanent white line through it. I contacted Acorn and their response was to contact Apple “billing assistance.” The issue is not with Apple but with the functionality of the Acorn app. There are numerous reviews/complaints about this very issue. Easily fixed through an update to the app yet Acorn’s response is a non-response. It’s very unfortunate this is how the functionality of the app works for its users that are paying money for the subscription service and are forced to watch the screen with a white line through it. None of the other streaming services have this issue, disappears within 2 seconds.

Good shows, poor support, quirky app. I subscribed through Apple TV few months ago and things worked well initially, but then started having trouble getting certain shows (e. g. Midsomer Murders) to play without signing into the Acorn App. I tried contacting support to get a password but didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks. It was suggested to delete the app and reinstall- which didn’t work. Finally they blamed the problem on Apple and gave me a free month while I was supposed to get it worked out through Apple. Apple checked it out and said that everything on their end was working properly. I decided it was too much hassle to get the problem fixed and just canceled my subscription.

Great Content - App Needs Work - Poor customer support. I love Acorn’s content. They have great British mysteries and comedy, and you’ll get some selections before Netflix and discover some things you didn’t know you wanted. Unfortunately the Apple TV app has issues, and because my account was through iTunes, I spent several days being told I didn’t have account. Really, Acorn, would I have bothered if I didn’t? One issue resolved on its own, possibly because I was in limbo between billing cycles. Finally got some acknowledgement and one offer for a fix by cancelling via iTunes and subscribing through Acorn directly. Had to go through several rounds of emails to get clearly a known issue acknowledged. Apple TV app won’t save your spot if you leave and return to a movie or show. Took several days to get support to say that service was not available on Apple TV. It is on the iPad app version, to be fair. Really some basic and up-front practices in support would go a long way. Smoke and mirrors is a TERRIBLE way to treat “valued customers.” Also getting a new rep with each email wastes customer time, and the Apple TV app sends you to website for support, which seems to confuse support staff who can’t differentiate between billing and technical issues. Also telling me I could use Acorn on another device when I contact about Apple IS NOT HELPFUL.

Stop Blocking Me Out of My Account that I pay $80/year for. I like this app a lot, more than any other streaming service. Only two people use, me and my mom. Firstly, there is simply too much content on any given app for it to only be used by one person. Simply too much. It is incredibly grating to not be able to watch anything on this app because “there are too many people…” No. Two people have the password and that’s okay, you don’t get to force people to cough up money for access to something that a friend or relative has in excess of what they need or could physically consume. Secondly, we understand that the average person has at least two devices to watch content on, right? My mom has an iPad and the house tv, I have my iPad and my phone and the same house tv. If you all care about the precise thing, then allow us to create profiles so you can potentially better gauge how many people is too many people. I will delete my service if this keeps happening.

Excellent programming, subpar app. First off, I resubscribed for the new Detectorists movie: where is it? It wasn’t listed in the New section so I found it through a search. When I selected it it would not load. When I tried to reboot the app to search for it didn’t turn up at all any more, it was gone. Even apart from this, the app itself is clunky. There is often long hesitation before a selected program loads. The organization of what’s availability could be improved: the Home Screen and Explore have a lot of duplication of categories, and neither gives you a fast way to see all content. Let the Home Screen have fewer categories that lead to more comprehensive lists and let Explore have more selections of shows with targeted interests. That would make *my* experience better anyway. I wish it all worked better because the programming is excellent.

Love AcornTV but Download function is ridiculous. Love the shows completely! The mobile app’s download feature is ridiculous. It downloads quickly that’s great. Two big issues with the downloaded episodes. They don’t download in episode order so you have to look for the next episode. The app doesn’t start an episode where you left off if you have to stop watching - it starts the show over at the beginning. Once you finish an episode and attempt to delete the watched episode it crashes on both iPhone and iPad 75% of the time. These nuisances make what would be a fantastic app an aggravation. Now there are less shows available to download. I like to watch offline Acorn!!!

A MUST if you love British TV. I have never written a review for an app before. After streaming some British detective series on Netflix, I googled "the best British detective series", and among the list, each suggestion included the "ways to watch". I saw acornTV as the only means to watch a few of the suggestions, so decided to try the free week. It's so great that I'm keeping my subscription! All the British (and Aussie) shows I could imagine in one place! Absolutely LOVE this app! Wish there were a website, so I could stream from my TV as well as my phone & iPad...or an app I could get for my Samsung smart TV.

Good content, terrible app. The content of this app is good, if a little limited, but the app itself is awful. Subtitles being automatic with auto play, episodes repeating for no reason (episode randomly finishes and then immediately starts again) and auto play doesn’t even work sometimes. This being a paid app, I expect better.

Suffering from buffering!!!. I’m able to watch other paid tv (stan and netflix) without any streaming issues at all...but with Acorn - took me over an hour to watch 45 minute show ... I cannot voice how (expletive) frustrating it has been. Tried at different times of the day in the hope that the streaming got better, but no such luck - is there an option to download??? VERY close to demanding my money back!!!

Useless site. A shame as the programs are good… I signed up through my Samsung TV.. only way it would let me…2 days of free then cut me off.. wont recognise I have a account… So have stopped payment…tried to join through Apple now says I already have a account but wont let me view through TV.. I Give up!!

Cannot cast to TV, but love the content.. Was working ok except having to turn off the captions each time you play a new episode and auto playing of episodes seems to be random. However, today cannot cast to the TV which is very frustrating.

Great shows. Content needs updating more often. Whilst the downloads are great quality and I really enjoy the content, new show should be loaded more often

Charges and takes payment months after cancellation. Even after cancelling, I was then charged the following month again. I thought I’d be able to at least use the app to watch things after you charged me but your customer service team is unable to assist but happily took my money. I only gave it two stars because I was being generous and I enjoyed the shows you had on the app. Terrible customer service.

Horrendous App. The buggiest, slowest streaming app I’ve ever used in my life. Reported issues go unchecked, nobody cares. Captions come on all the time (not even in English) despite having the option ticked for no captions. It buffers like you wouldn’t believe. No excuse for these bugs to be still in the app over a year after being initially reported when it’s a PAID app.

Stopped working on my TV. For a few days now I have been unable to watch Acorn on my TV. Instead of just opening, it asks me to log in but when I put in my email and password it says there was an error with them and to try again later. I went to the website on my iPad and was able to log in easily. But the TV app just won’t let me in. I tried reset password but I get the same error message. Not good enough.

Fantastic. I have been using this app for sometime. I have never had an issue either whilst using and viewing content or the app itself. I love British TV and it is hard to find apps/ streaming ones in Australia. So love it and keep developing it.

Frustrating and useless!. So frustrating and absolutely useless. The app spends more time buffering than it does streaming a show. Two minutes into a show it stops for a minute to buffer, it plays for another minute, then stops to buffer for two minutes...and this repeats again and again. We gave up on Acorn TV after only 10 minutes of trying to watch our first show.

Unbelievable buffering! Terrible platform. It’s simple, you need to fix this appalling app. It’s a PAID app, in this day and age no excuses for freezing more than it plays. 21 minutes in to a show it’s taken about 35 minutes to watch! All other users in the house stopped using the internet to give it full bandwidth- made NO difference.... fair go, fix it or we’ll seek a refund.

App doesn’t play all on Apple TV.. After waiting ages for an update, when it arrived; it still hasn’t fixed the issue. I wanted to watch Murdoch mysteries ( when you click on the icon, all it does is buffer and goes to blank screen) it also occurs on Poirot as well. Please fix.

Great British Tv, Poor Streaming Connection. Great set of programs on the Acorn Tv app, British Tv at its best, issue for me lies with the streaming of the app, the constant buffering, freezing of the picture, unwatchable. Watching through the Prime app, using the AMC+ service, provides a far better connection and quality streaming service for the viewer. Would recommend using this app instead.

Very buggy. When I’m watching on a device rather than on a TV, the picture will jump backwards to a random point, but the sound will stay the same. It happens frequently, 2-3 times in a 45 minute episode. Also sometimes the sound will cut out completely. It’s very buggy and annoying. The content is great if you love British TV, especially crime, but the bugs seem to be getting worse, not better.

Worst app ever!. This app & company cannot even get the basics right. 1. Like other reviewers I find the buffering makes programs impossible to watch. I have excellent internet speeds & zero problems with other streaming services. I have even checked the speed while it is buffering & can confirm it’s not me, Acorn it’s you. 2. It does not pick up where you left off, ever. 3. The Apple TV app is useless because it does not contain all of the content. Programs that have 6 series on the iPad app only have 2 on the Apple TV. It will list a program under Watched but when you click on it you often get a blank screen because the Apple TV app does not have the content. Needless to say I have cancelled my subscription. Get your act together Acorn if you want to keep customers.

No stars. Have attempted to use this app twice… on two different accounts. Cannot connect it to our tv despite ap on TV. Have been charged for a month of new use. Have approached the support team, they answered an email saying someone would be with me shortly. Poos Service, Poor usability!

Billed twice a month. Only discovered after months of payments that I had two accounts with this service, one web-based another through Apple. So when I cancelled last September, through Apple, and the invoices stopped coming I continued to be charged for a web-based account unbeknownst to me. Finally completed the cancellation process 8 months later. If you want to watch through your TV take note of which service/option you need to sign up with. You can be charged twice a month and Acorn can’t tell you you have more than one account (with the same email address), you’ll need to work it out through your credit card statement.

Great shows but app functionality needs work. Love the shows but compared to other streaming services, the mobile app and website needs lots of work. The next episode of the show you’re watching doesn’t show up automatically, there isn’t a fast forward or rewind option on the website, you can’t view all the episodes of a series while you’re watching an episode which is the norm with other, established steaming services. Rewind and fast forward function is hopeless on the mobile app and the screen doesn’t automatically stay on landscape mode when watching on mobile, so your screen keeps moving from portrait to landscape, and locking the screen orientation only forces it into portrait mode. Lots of improvements can be made.

No problems with app. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit unsure about downloading app, but we have had no problems with it & we’re very happy watching some of the old British shows. We watch on iPad & tv.

Good shows. Love the shows but would like to see Trial & Retribution and No Offence added to the Australian site. But I do like that all the shows I have watched so far have subtitles included.

False advertising - BE WARNED. ***There are only 36 show available in total!*** No hard to find gems, not the good shows listed in the description, don’t even hope to find shows that acorn own and sell in the uk. I mistakingly thought that shows I’d been looking to watch again since the 90’s would be available as I found acorn sold them in the uk. So I jumped on and signed up. I didn’t read the reviews, my bad, but I thought I’d seen this as an app of the day. The only reason I have cancelled quicker than 20 mins is I’ve taken time to do the review first.

Has potential but also false advertising. Brags that they have Agatha Raisin, Doc Martin & Murdoch Mysteries to entice you in, but actually has none of them :( Only has a tiny fraction of what it shows in the pictures & blurb

Freezes constantly. Relatively new iPad, ~50mbps internet connection, every other streaming service works fine, yet this freezes constantly in the middle of episodes where even a forced reboot won’t fix the problem

Overall very good. Just a little thing that’s kind of annoying. I love the selection of both old and new shows, movies, mini series and tv shows. However one frustrating this happens when streaming to my Google chrome cast. When I play a series it will play the odd numbered episodes and then stop casting when they finished. When playing even numbered episodes, when it finishes, it starts the same episode again from the start. Not a huge issue but a bit annoying and an inconvenience. Overall the service is very good.

No issues whatsoever. Not sure why the negative comments I have had it for 3 months and no issues love everything about it

Great shows but terrible app. A great range of shows. I spent a considerable amount of time ‘favouriting’ dozens of tv shows and movies, only for just three of them to appear on my list. Same went with the watch list. App is slow to load and search functions/design are dreadful. Also, if you check out the settings there is a section ‘do not sell my information’, so I recommend turning that on.

Keeps removing money even after you cancel. Do not download and sign up for this service, even after you quit it years later they come back to sneakily remove money from your account. This is not the first time I’ve had to contact them about it either! It’s absolutely not worth the annoyance for years later!

Poor selection than advertised. If they wanted me to pay for a subscription then they should have the shows as per the images on the app. No Agatha Raisin and no Doc Martin. Almost false advertising cancelled 20 mins later no worth it better streaming services out there for the consumer.

Not quite what I thought. Minimal content and not all seasons/episodes. The app is constantly going black and unresponsive. Subtitles come on with every show as a default- always have to turn off. The episodes don’t roll on to the next one. Quite a frustrating experience.

Don’t work. I downloaded it 48 hours ago, I signed up, but it doesn’t works. I can only watch trailers. I have emailed acorn twice but still reply. Lucky it gave 7 days free trail. So cancel it and delete, b4 my 7 days are up.

Not the best. Worked great for months but now it’s glitching and hiccuping all the time. It’s so painful. I have full reception so am baffled as to why it’s suddenly got so bad. When I get it restarted it keeps starting at the beginning, not from where I was when it glitched 😡

Always Buffering. Great content, but it’s constantly buffering while watching shows. You only get to watch a few seconds (not minutes) and it buffers, then again a few seconds, and buffering. Extremely frustrating it drives you nuts!!! None of the other apps do it. 😫

Somewhat Disappointing. We were excited to have an opportunity to have a streaming source of UK programmes... Unfortunately, two we have 'pushed through' (Crimson Fields and The Lady in White) have left us wondering about the wisdom of our decision... There seems to be a problem with the download speed which leaves the viewing suspended for several minutes...

Good programs. Not good for an iPad.. I watch on my iPad. Everything that streams using this app has a bar top and bottom so the view is not good. Too small. There is no setting or any way to change this. Even though I want to watch the programs, I intend to cancel my subscription because I wrote to them but the reply was inadequate. They implied it was my fault. It is the fault of poor app design. This is the same with Britbox. Are they the same people?

VERY POOR STREAMING EXPERIENCE. In spite of every other streaming service streaming perfectly in HD, Acorn continues to buffer and hang. Fed up with the poor experience and have put up with it for too long. I will be cancelling my subscription and NEVER renewing again

No Stars - the worst!. This must be the worst streaming service ever - subscribed and after spending close to one hour trying to Apple AirPlay I gave up and unsubscribed. I tried AirPlay for other streaming apps and all work except Acorn. Shame - good content. But until Acorn is available as an app on LG smart tv I won’t be subscribing.

Extremely difficult to unsubscribe. I ignored all the reviews about how difficult it was to unsubscribe. Even though Acorn advise you can unsubscribe from their website (on your phone), there was no “cancel membership” option. It was only on my desktop the cancel membership option was available.

App stopped working.. For some reason the app stopped working on the IPad. Uninstalled, reinstalled, Logged out, logged in. Very unstable. If you want to stream for a stable service smart tv viewing is it. Expecting too much. Don’t know.

Barely useable recently with buffering. It’s not my Wi-Fi because every other app works just fine. Hopefully it will be fixed as I do love the shows on the app.

A shockingly bad app. The whole app has a 90’s feel and has exceedingly few features. It’s a really horrible design plagued with long loading times for anything you press in the app. With just over 130 shows/movies in the entire catalogue it’s clear there’s no money being spent on content so please - at least throw some into the app itself.

App needs some work. Love the content of Acorn TV, app needs some work. Main problems include buffering mid show when casting to tv (have excluded internet quality - other streaming apps work fine), inability to add any shows to favourite list - tap heart symbol it fills but when I check favourite lists show isn’t there. Watch list works fine. There is also a 4-5 second lag when opening up app - blank screen before app opens to home page. Improve the app and it’s an absolute winner. Currently it’s frustrating to use.

Removes the only decent shows!. The app is terrible (inc the web browser version) and one of the worst around to use, but tolerated it to watch Agatha Christie’s shows, but of course they had to remove them after only a couple of months so now are left with the dregs of cr@p tv shows no one wants to watch!

Contact service and password reset is rubbish.. I have tried and tried to reset my password no avail. Tried to contact acorn and that fails . I have so many ticket from them but just goes no further. If you can’t fix problems , delete the app. It’s not that good that anyone is going to miss it.

Poor. Paid first time and was very glitchy. Tried a second time and didn’t work, kept saying needing to pay despite the purchase confirmed. I won’t be trying third time lucky. Waste of money and effort.

Very Disappointing. I plug my iPad into the main TV, but only the sound comes out and no picture. When I first got the app it was really good, now I just pay every month in the hope that I will get a picture. But it won’t be long before I cancel and try Britbox or one of the others.

Absolutely terrible. The app constantly freezes so you can’t watch a show easily, it’s just frustrating watching a black screen and buffering wheel spinning endlessly!! Tried deleting and reinstalling the app, watching at different times of the day but it never works! Will be cancelling before the free trial ends.

Acorn that never becomes oak. The programs are good, but I’m canceling again after one month because the app and the service are atrocious. Buffering, random series order jumps, not consistent in offering “continue watching”, unfriendly design of app by manga nerds who don’t understand the demographic, and utterly useless customer service. I’ve been waiting a month to know why the Poirot “Collection” doesn’t include series 11. They write emails saying, we’re busy, we’ll get back to you. Obviously no concept of what streaming actually means. The programming is not so great that it’s worth hanging about for. A two bit operation, this one.

Two stars for content..... that’s it.. This app is the worst. Love the content but the app is absolute garbage. Support is terrible. I always have an error message appear before I can watch anything. Support was useless and palmed me off to apple. Again, love the content but app and support is the worst.

Clunky as anything. Amazing content, some real quality shows. The app was working fine, now it just freezes and crashes. Hopefully fixed soon...

Continually buffered every 10 seconds for 30 seconds. Crashed 8 times in an hour Took 2 hours to Watch a 47 minute show Do not bother with this app It is frustrating experiencing such great content being displayed by faulty data

Poor picture quality. For a PAID service, the picture quality is really sub par. Pixellated image is something I can get online for free. The sound quality is sometimes awful too. It really varies on the program. I love british tv but I will not renew my subscription for something of such a low quality. And I do have a very fast connection. The issue is only with acorn. Netflix YouTube and other streaming services are juste fine.

App on my iPhone 11. I love the programming but still cannot get the app to work properly I cannot search programs and all programs will not come up when I open the app I have tried to open and code the app with no improvement You need the fix this problem

The Acorn app won’t let me subscribe. I downloaded the app, and was able to register with my email address and a password. So I am now able to sign into the app. Once in the app, I eventually found my way to a subscription page, but the button that was supposed to let me select a monthly subscription simply did not respond despite my repeated tries. So I cannot even subscribe at this point. Nor can I find my way back to the subscription page. The app has no button, menu item etc. that will take me to the subscriptions page. I don’t know what else to do.

Great shows. Great shows…my only complaint is when a show is released and it’s one episode a week. That’s very annoying. They used to just put up the entire season at once.

Uniformly and bizarrely white shows. Enter the parallel universe of Acorn tv where BIPOC barely exist.

Every bit as robust as Netflix. Works perfectly for me. I have 32 mb/sec from my carrier now. When we had 6 mb/ sec had problems all over the house. Maybe your carrier is throttling or you have too many apps open on the apple tv4, etc. The app and the shows are really good. Just an update after 1 year of watching. the shows are fantastic, streaming never a problem. bored with Netflix, Acorn is a great alternative Just ignore their ‘we want you back 30 day free trials’. Its a ruse, they put you in a loop that makes it impossible to use the promo code.

Love it. British and Aussie series have such better actors. They a real and complex. Great selection of funny-mystery. No issues with streaming quality or speed. Works great.

❤️Acorn. Acorn streaming never disappoints. Excellent selection for all tastes!

Grumpy. I’m grumpy that I can’t access Acorn while I’m on vacation in Mexico

Best TV in Town. I love British dectective shows and since I started watching here I don’t even have time to watch Netflix or Amazon prime.

Subscription won’t renew properly with iTunes. Can’t get the app to renew with iTunes . Apparently it’s a problem with a few customers with the new update. Acorn can’t help. Won’t be watching any longer.

Add a show. Could you try and get murder she wrote with Angela Lansbury

Best tv ever!. Love my British accent and shows. Best variety of snows to binge watch. Now we have an actors and screenwriters strike and I don't care if my shows are late because I have all the British shows to watch at my disposal.

Don’t get hooked on a series. I started watching a program. Lived it. Lived that there were 9 seasons on acorn. Hah. Watched season 1 and 2 then discovered seasons 3,4,5,6 not available but 7 is and 8. What’s the point of finding a lovely series to pay for and watch if I cannot? I’m paying a subscription. The seasons are listed. Just not there to watch. Absolutely awful. False advertising. Terrible support. Not happy at all.

Great Value!. Watch quality programming here first such as Doc Martin, A Place to Call Home, The Heart Guy, and many more.

Review of Acorn tv. I have had Acorn tv for a few years now and really enjoy the kind of programming you offer. I have also told my friends and family about Acorn and have recommended it to them. Sometimes the ads for shows can be a bit misleading. They will advertise a new show that’s come out but when I click on it I find that I have watched them all and it’s not really a new show at all. I have learned that there is a drop down menu for more series but even then, not all the shows are as new as you suggest. I will keep Acorn as a provider and look forward to some more great shows. I just would like it that when a new viewing guide comes out, all the shows are new ones, not re-runs.

Love love love!. I absolutely love the variety of shows to watch! Everything is brilliant-I have not watched anything that has been disappointing-actors are superb, content is wonderful! They can’t pump out the shows fast enough for me…(I’m not very patient! lol) I have recommended Acorn to all my friends. Thank you, Acorn!

Review. I’m disappointed that I don’t get the same programs as the Americans get, makes me feel that Canadians are not considered as good as Americans, I’m an English transplant and the British mystery shows are my favourites, so come on Acorn, get with it.

Miss fisher. We need more episodes I have watches them all about four times! I love these, where are more?

Chrome cast not working. The latest version of the app has a few bugs. Firstly Chromecast is not working, although when I check it on other apps it is. You get a message that it is connecting to a nearby device and evenly times out. The other bug is it just fails in the middle of a video or when you stop/start a video. Some better testing is required before releasing these products.

What’s going on?. I started watching the series Vera, got through the first 2 season only to find out Acorn doesn’t carry seasons 3,4 or5. Jumps right to season 6 then 7. So if I want to watch season 3,4,5 & 8 i have to do that on Britbox. Are you kidding me? What a scam!! I am not getting more subscriptions. And this isn’t the only program they do it with. I should have looked more closely before subscribing for a year. I bet I don’t renew.

Acorn. I love the variety, I have gotten into doc. Poi - love it. Everything’s is great. I just wish I could have it on my main tv instead of just my iPad. Oh well, something is better than nothing. Thanks Jan hale

Love it!!. I wanted to just do the free trial, but there is such a great supply of top quality British and other shows and movies that I had to get it!!!

New shows. Acorn is slow about putting new shows on the schedule it’s why I cancel and come back in 6 months so I have fresh stuff to watch.

Good content but…. Can’t get it to play on my tv with my iPhone connected. Not sure why. Had this problem before and it’s still not fixed . :(

App not working properly, customer service nonexistent. On Apple TV, the app does not show the entire watchlist, and when you stop an episode, the app does not remember where you left off. I alerted them to these issues via their Facebook page, and in return I was blocked and locked out from their page, but was never given a reply. The app on Apple TV has not been updated in a very long time, but there is no customer service, and they clearly don’t care about what their paying customers think… Paying customers who complain about issues are blocked by them.

Teasers..... Too often Acorn only has one season of a series so you watch, get hooked and then that’s it: you’re left hanging, wishing there were more seasons available. It gets frustrating.

Ripping of the consumers. I subscribed through my Apple account, but when I go to watch it on my Samsung tv it’s telling me I have to subscribe again through through them, SO WHAT UP TO THE MULTIPLE SUBSCRIBED I WENT TO AMAZON PRIME WHICH IS AMAZING

Horrible app, no customer service. About 40% of the time, we get the message that too many devices are using our account so we cannot watch anything. The app is on one device only, and no one has our account details, so it is literally impossible. We contacted Acorn TV about it, only to be told to log out of other devices. THERE ARE NONE. They then said they could do nothing. And the problem persists. Unsubscribing.

App is ok. The app itself is ok. The interface is mediocre. The selection of shows is poor. They are largely boring, poorly written.

Acorn feedback. I love the shows and that you can download and watch them offline. Thank you

Great content, horrible app. If you like British and Australian television the content on Acorn is great. The app is technically horrible. We live in a rural area with broadband internet, but we have no trouble streaming content from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV. With Acorn, I have to delete the app and reinstall it two or three times a week to prevent buffering problems. And by problems, I mean watch a minute and a half of program, stall, wait a minute, watch another two minutes, and so on. It is ultra-frustrating. Customer service is poor. Their solution? Delete the app and re-install. If I didn’t really like the content, much of which is unavailable anywhere else, I would never use this app. It is technically really inferior to the other streaming services.

Sound volume. Enjoying everything but, did noticed that the sound volume is a little lower than my tv side. I use an IPad for both. Is there anything Accorn can do to adjust that ? I am hearing challenged. Thank you Gema

Acorn. Great value for money. Great selection of content and streaming is very reliable

All. There are not enough new movies or series to keep up with my binge watching style, although most everything you have is excellent.

Loooooove Acorn Tv. I so enjoy having this app/streaming service as it brings me so many amazing shows I can’t get in Canada. Please continue to bring the same high quality programming to us all!! Thankyou so much for everything….I Love Acorn!!!

I LOVE Acorn!. I’ve been addicted to Acorn for so long now. It certainly got me through the peaks of Covid! Baking away, with the IPad sitting on the kitchen counter, tuned to Acorn. Not a bad way to be isolated, at all. Love all that they show. One of my apps, that I won’t be getting rid of, any time soon. Worth every penny, and actually not that pricey.

Zero Customer Service. Usually I am loathe to write a scathing review.... Got an email a week ago from acorntv saying “sorry to see you go” suggesting we had cancelled our service. We have not!! Emailed them immediately and have sent 3 more messages over the past week. No reply! And yet iTunes is still debiting our account. Got hold of iTunes who tell us the problem is with Acorn. Very concerning!!! No one taking any accountability for cancelling our service but charging us money anyway. We are unable to find any other way to contact acorn except on their website - but they do not reply!! Very poor.

I love this app!. Clear picture, quick to load and is chock full of outstanding series and movies. Can’t get enough of it. New programs are introduced often. The brits do tv so much better than anyone! This streaming service is so worth the money. I’ve yet to come across a series that isn’t mega stellar.

Infuriating at times.. I bought a year’s subscription during the pandemic. I have found many of my favourite series have episodes missing that you have to subscribe through Prime to get. Some nights I go to watch an episode and it tells me I need a subscription, which I already have. Deleting the App and signing in again corrects the problem but only for a short time. They really need to get their act together.

Need a few changes. I would have given a 5 star rating but I hate where they placed the the play, fast forward and the back buttons! I would like them better if they were in the middle of the page! Another thing I don’t like os that they don’t give you an option to stretch the page/show!

Disappointed. I have subscribed to Acorn for many years. As of late, I am disappointed with the lack of new shows. There seems to be an abundance of Asian shows I am more interested in crime drama or mystery shows. It might be time to switch over to BritBox.

Only needed a few days to know to cancel. Money grab.... first you need a subscription and then have to pay again for full seasons? Seems like a rip-off to me.

Love Acorn TV! 👍. Acorn TV is my favourite streaming app! I really enjoy the selection of shows offered! Highly recommend watching! 👏

Programming. Acorn requires some updated programming and more to chose from. Not a fan of watching a series through sub titles which is becoming more common with Acorn. May not renew for another year as the past year has not had much new content added.

Newer shows. I like Acorn, but I wish they had more variety and more recent shows. What about The Graham Norton Show, 8 Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg etc etc …?

British TV anywhere we go.. We love it that we can watch some British television where we live in Canada, or even Mexico. The shows aren’t always the same ones but knowing we can watch anywhere is a real treat! Plus, the shows are great! Thank you!

Acorn App. I enjoy the content of Acorn TV. However, not enough variety, new content or complete number in series. Would love to see more on this app!

Usually great. There was a problem with the app and there was no way to get hold of support. Everything was stuck. No email, no phone. No way to access help. This makes me hesitant to continue. Hope they sort out the problem or I will cancel subscription

Acorn. Great shows I especially like police stories and mysteries"

Awesome Content, App not so Awsome!. If you enjoy great British Television shows you will love Acorn TV. Just be prepared for allot of work on your part. If you have to stop a show and answer a call then you will still be able to watch where you left off, but if you have to stop the show and switch apps then you better take a screen shot or remember where you left off. Also the app does not remember which shows you’ve already watched.

FIXED!!! App crashes after iOS update. Gladly revising my review. I love Acorn TV and with this update the Acorn TV app is the bomb. Tech support was right on the problem after the Apple iOS update and were prompt in responding to my anguished emails that the app kept crashing. Kudos! Well done and many thanks. [Please fix. Acorn has all my favorite shows, but now cannot watch. Just updated iOS on iPhone this morning. When will you get this fixed???]

Unreliable app. I love the content but I have so many technical issues I’m considering cancelling my subscription. I often get the ‘too many users’ error even though I’m the only user and I’ve changed my password. Then recently, Murdoch Mysteries will not load on the IOS app or the Apple TV app. I send in a support ticket and the next day they tell me ‘they hope my issue was resolved’ ? What does that mean? The issues are still happening, no change and reading these reviews tells me I’m not the only one. I’ve resorted to watching on my old Roku device just to finish a season. I hope they can get things together, I can’t justify continuing to subscribe when there are so many problems.

Enjoy Acorn very much. This app is our go to for evening entertainment. I would give 5 stars on the spot if they make it possible to have episodes end WITHOUT starting the next episode. For us starting the next episode us only annoying; never helpful. Another problem with the auto-start is that the red line progress indicator at the bottom of the episodes often absent for an episode you just finished watching. It’s got something to do with the auto-start. Also annoying. Fox it Acorn and you’re 5 stars.

Love the content, hate the app!. The app frequently freezes so I have to close the app and start again. When it isn’t freezing, it doesn’t let me stream to my TV. And just now, I tried playing an episode and it wouldn’t let me select the episode, however I could expand the description and move to other menus. Please, please fix this! I’m paying money for an app that works maybe half the time. Only thing keeping me subscribed is the content, but if I can’t watch the content, then what is the point?

It not even working for me anymore!. I had this app all last year and it worked absolutely fine, but since renewing my subscription I have had nothing but trouble with this app. I can’t log in, says my passwords is wrong even though it lets me log onto their website just fine. It’s now saying I can’t access because I’m not connected to internet! Eh, yes, I am!! I can’t watch anything from the website because it keeps sticking or looping over same scenes repeatedly. Ugh! Seriously thinking about giving up and demanding refund. These bugs need to be sorted. If you’re thinking of subscribing right now, DON’T! Wait till they’ve fixed it!

Not user friendly. I have tried twice now to access this site and each time I am told I have to go through lTunes and there no instructions on how to accomplish this. The app has been deleted, and it's a shame because I loved the site for the week I had as a free trial. I tried again, thinking bugs might have been worked out. No such luck. I cannot access them to change password. I cannot get through on FaceBook messenger. It does not recognize the password I used before but when I tried I just got An error has occurred. Please try again later For 3 days I have gotten this message. Under no circumstances do I recommend the app. Avoid it if you can.

Love the content variety but not accessible. I’ve been an Acorn TV subscriber for quite a long time and the variety of shows has grown and expanded across genres which has been wonderful. One thing I’m disappointed by is that I’m not able to watch most (if not all) non-English shows at my place with friends who are visually impaired as the vast majority of the foreign language offerings have English captions but not audio. When this service was new, I understood it often takes time for streaming services to remember there is population of people who deserve equal access, but at this point I’m quite surprised at the lack of accessibility.

Poor app. This app is so poor I will not use it. It starts the program then stops and kicks you out back to Home Screen of your tv not acorn. They will tell you that the problem is your Wi-Fi , the tower the connection, all bull ! Why can i watch on other streaming platforms with no problem. The only reason I have stayed is , doc Martin, and season 16 of Murdock? Will be starting. I hope without be kick off. I could once get acorn on my tablet now no show no go. Told they don’t support that any more. Only out for your money nothing else. Sounds like I believe they are not worth the time to watch a 41 minute program in hour and 24 minutes. If you got the time and patience good luck

Great on iPad, but.... I’ve had ACORN TV for over 5 years on my iPad and with one exception I have been able to watch their wonderful content flawlessly. However, I am so disappointed that it is compatible with little else. Having bought a new smart TV, I assumed I could download ACORN, wrong! I can view through internet but the ACORN interface is clumsy compared to the app. Apple TV was a consideration until I read the discouraging reviews.

Absolute Garbage Technical Support. I started an Acorn subscription specifically so that could watch a favorite program (“The Detectorists”). But, although Acorn carries the show, when I select the show it goes into an infinite loop, and the show never starts. (Note that this problem seems to be specific to this show [and a couple others]; most other programs seem to stream just fine.) However, after two months, and after multiple reports, nothing has been done about this problem. And to make this more annoying, about once a week I get an auto-email tell me that “Your Ticket Has Been Resolved”, although it’s clear nothing has been done. Likewise, the few times I have actually heard from technical support, it’s to ask me a series of questions that I have answered several times before. So I guess if this app works for you, it’s OK. But just pray you never have any bugs.

iphone App crashing, won’t open. I have been trying for 5 days now to use the Acorn TV app on my iphone and ipad. The app will open for two seconds to a balck screen and then crash and close. I contacted Acorn TV’s customer service 4 days ago and have not received a response yet. Which is unacceptable. I am paying monthly for this service and as of 5 days ago cannot use the service. Customer service needs to respond within 48 hours, not over 4 days and still no response. If I don’t get a response soon, I wil be canceling my subscription on their website. This app has great content but the lack of customer support leaves this customer upset and wary. FIX YOUR APP!!!

Confusing on iPad. One evening we wanted to watch an episode and did not realize that you have to be in "My Acorn TV" to be in your account. So we signed up for another one month trial. When I realized this, I cancelled the free trial on iTunes, leaving the paid up subscription in place. Now Acorn thinks I cancelled everything. Very hard to contact Support; they never use their names, distinct emails or phone numbers as contact points; we have multiple Case #'s going at present; Facebook Messenger is getting a little reaction but since it's a Friday, I suspect we're going to be hanging till Monday. LATE FRIDAY UPDATE: by avoiding iTunes, they're offering it to me at $5/month, $50/year.

Claim app is fixed, STILL NOT FIXED. Love the shows, hate the app. Don’t bother with this streaming service unless you have a Roku. Samsung smart tv isn’t compatible any longer, Chromecast hasn’t worked for weeks now. Reported them to BBB because not a single customer service communication has addressed my request for a refund for time unable to cast to my tv. I’m paying for a service I can only watch on my tiny phone??? No thank you. Btw, all customer service is done via email, and it takes days and days for a response. Yeah, it’s less than $10 a month, but don’t bother. You can get a couple lattes instead of this headache!

Relevant Entertainment. The programs or movies are intelligent and thought provoking. I feel like I have investigated murders with adults who exhibit common sense. Or have joined families with normal but intriguing problems which they solve in creative and believable ways. And sometimes I visit with families that are just naturally humorous and I smile. Acorn TV leaves me with a sense of satisfaction, that real people are living real lives with determination and sometimes even humor.

Excellent Support. I had a problem with shows that would run fine on the Roku, but wouldn’t show up on my iPad app. It was a complicated problem that took some time to resolve. It finally got cleared up with the latest update. Throughout it all, the Acorn customer service and technical support teams were responsive and kept working with me to solve the problem. Thank you!

AcornTV Subscriber For Years. I do love AcornTV. Even though I live in the US, I hardly watch any American programming. I love British, Australian, New Zealand, Canadian shows. Especially, light murder mysteries. The only criticism I would have regarding Acorn is that it stops AutoPlay after a few hours. I often plug in my earphone at bedtime and let it play through the night. Can’t AcornTV just let it play continuously? I hate waking up to silence. But, otherwise, I love the app, and the offerings! Louise from Florida

So frustrating!. I have happily been a subscriber through iTunes for several years and had NO problems. BUT these past two months, I have tried to access my programs and get the message that my subscription has expired even though iTunes shows me current on my payments. I have tried to contact Apple, Acorn, and tried deleting the app, downloading it fresh and briefly getting my shows only to have the exact same message come up when I try to access the site. To send a request for help to Acorn gets an immediate email response of acknowledgement, but NOTHING ever seems to go beyond the acknowledgement.

Unable to load stream. I use the acorn app literally everyday. Just this week it has been telling me no matter what show I click on “sorry, we’re unable to load stream”. I deleted and reinstalled the app; updated the app; cleared the cache files… nothing works. I’m so frustrated. It’s my favorite streaming app and now I’m left high and dry. I have no idea why this happened- if there was an update that changed something, my wifi hasn’t changed, nor has my hardware. I’ll be checking if I have the same problem streaming on the tv or not, but I primarily enjoy the app in my phone. Very disappointed I can’t access my favorite shows like I could a week ago :/

Long time subscriber. I work long days and it is so nice to find positive shows I can relax too. My only negative comment is that they do not offer every show in English. The shows I really want to watch are in another language and since my contacts are out and I am listening rather than watching subtitles are out lol. But all in all well worth the yearly cost. Mahalo Acorn I love you!

Needs updating. I have loved Acorntv for many years, but recently they will not update to work on my iPad. It works on my Roku , but not on the iPad. Don’t understand why they can’t fix this. Also, the menu is so hard to maneuver through-new look of menu is even worse than it used to be. I love the content of the app, but it desperately needs an update. Come on, can’t be that difficult.

Really unstable.. The content in Acorn is fantastic, but this app crashes all the time. It lacks some of the functionality I would like also, such as the ability to choose to not auto play the next episode of a series or offering a timer function of some kind. Often the closed captioning will be ahead of the video, and this seems to be a recent development. Again, the content is wonderful. But it does crash all the time, a problem I don’t have with any of the other video services I use.

Constantly STICKING!. I like the shows and movies; however, the app constantly sticks and lags! I have a brand new Samsung and I have issues with this app on that tv. I also have a Vizio tv and the app sticks on that tv as well. My tvs are less than a year old and I have nothing but problems with this app! It’s only myself on the Wi-Fi and watching so it’s not multiple streaming services. I don’t have a problem with MZH. I will not be renewing next month. You guys really need to redo this app and hire some engineers from Apple or something. I haven’t experienced this much lagging since I had DSL and that’s way back.

I only watch Britbox and Acorn. Love them both.. I much prefer mysteries, and documentaries from these sources. I don’t have the streaming service that starts with Net…. I do occasionally find something, usually from PBS, in Prime. But the British TV series seem to suit me. Less violent, the police detectives seem to be able to get along, there seem to be fewer home and alcohol problems…though I’m noticing it’s hard for me to find new series I like.

Too many outdated, single season programs dropped for poor quality.. I noticed these problems a few years ago when I wad a member. I quit Acorn and went to BritBox. After I watched all I liked at BritBox, I returned to Acorn thinking that considering the time since I was last a subscriber, there would be some newer programs. Sadly, not enough. I doubt more than a half dozen new programs were even worth watching. It is sad as the newer programs they do put out are exceptional. But the older ones from the 1970's and before are just terrible. I won't be back. ☹️

The App No Longer Works/Love the Content. It is very frustrating. Suddenly the app stopped working. I try to sign in and EVERY time it tells me that my email or password is wrong. I know this isn’t true because I am able to sign in on the website. This isn’t a deal breaker because I AM able to watch on my iPad, but I get irritated when something doesn’t work the way it is supposed to. I do love the shows that are available via Acorn or otherwise I would have given the app only 2 stars.

Woman of substance. Wonderful entertainment. What a joy to watch a movie with no cursing. The movie makers of todays morals feel that in order to produce a good film every other word has to be the f word and the women’s boobs hanging out. Not so and you proved it. Just love Acorn, you show individuals as they are, crooked teeth, pock marks etc like life, not like Hollywood where everything is fake including the acting. I am 92 and have watched hundreds of films in my lifetime and Acorn is top drawer.

Fan of Acorn but the system is awful. I LOVE Acorn tv shows & movie options. If I was just rating that, it would be a perfect score however I am not. The application for Acorn is AWFUL. I have watched it on smart TV’s and a fire stick and I run into the same problems. Once you complete an episode, the system kicks you out & back to the Home Screen. You then hv to search for your show and start again. I hv become accustom to the glitch & automatically prepare for it. It’s not enough for me to get rid of my subscription but it’s super annoying. Y’all really shld fix it. Outside of that, I’m a big fan.

AirPlay does not work. Does not play from iPad to Roku via airplay. No problem with airplay from other streaming services on my iPad. No way to remove a program/series from “recently watched.” It stays in the “recently watched “ queue forever. Really??? Their Roku app is just as bad. Acorn support is no help whatsoever. It appears that they don’t provide the required resources for creating a functional app on various platforms. Acorn, please fix your broken, dysfunctional apps. I’ll stop my subscription if you can’t get it together. It’s amazing how some businesses spend tons of money on advertising, but once they have you as a customer, they do nothing to keep your business.

When I can’t get to the British Isles and a good mystery any other way…. Acorn TV is my Go To connection! As a British mystery fan and fan of the fantastic acting skills of the folks who make these stories come alive, I am always on the hunt for a new trail to follow, a tale to enjoy, and mysteries to “solve”. Acorn TV has older episodes, newer shows and just the right mix of the kind of programming I enjoy. Definitely five stars! 💥💥💥💥💥

Losing track of episodes watched... With all the IOS updates lately the Acorn app is not keeping track of which shows/episodes we have watched. This can make things a little confusing. The problem is on our iPhones and iPads, all running the latest IOS updates. The same thing happened about a year ago and the problem was resolved in a few weeks. We have been having this problem for 3-4 weeks. Other than this the app works just fine and of course we really like the shows.

More like A-bomb. The programming is great. Wish I could've watched it but after purchasing subscription through iTunes, I logged in and Acorn crashed in the middle of first outing. When I reloaded app I had to sign in again and that's where the problems started. Maybe the error messages are in a parlance that makes sense in the UK but to me were unfathomable. Regardless, my log-in kept getting booted out. Deleted app and reinstalled but error msg stayed. Regular user of all the usual subscription apps and never experienced such a circular vortex of non-results. That's when I checked the reviews and got the gist: app not ready for prime time. Hopefully soon.

GREAT SHOWS. I love the shows on Acorn. Sometimes the app is vey slow to load. The home page is often slow for me. I would like it better if when going into a show the top of the page would show the show, rather than the nice English cottage. I would also like an easier way to get back to the show I was watching when I leave the device. Thank you for a great selection of shows and super shows that you have only on Acorn.

Thanks for the fix regarding IOS. Finally working on Ipad, thanks for the fix regarding the IOS update & app crash re:previous post(App in ios for iPad just stopped opening , used it for a while and now nothing. Took it off and reloaded it again and again. Won’t even open after you log in. By the looks of the ratings everyone else thinks it crap too. Really people fix this thing.)

Wonderful content poorly delivered. The TV shows are fantastic but the app is frustratingly buggy, with problems on a daily basis. Often the content fails to display, fails to play, logs the user out and then displays an erroneous "check internet" message when trying to log back in - the list goes on and on. Emails to technical support result in unnecessary password changes and other bandaid type fixes that don't address the root of the problem, which appears to be a badly designed/programmed app. It really is a shame that this stellar content continues to be delivered through such a subpar viewing experience. It does not reflect well on Apple or Acorn TV.

NOT WORKING!. First it crashes. Now it says no internet connection when there obviously is. Can’t sign in! Funny, because I can sign in perfectly fine with the same info on the computer. The mobile app is now useless and that was my favourite part. Update: I found a fix! Use BritBox instead. Their mobile app works just fine! Update: Even after updates, it is still the same problem on the mobile app. Even if you are connected to WiFi, it says you are not and load content. But if I disable WiFi and use data, it works. Can’t believe after reading many reviews that say the same thing, they haven’t fixed this.

Wonderful!. I am from US, and love watching British shows, the actors, the directors all are just so much better than what US has. I grew up on so many of these shows thru PBS here and now get to watch them and the new ones as well. The quality of the app is incredible. Easy to use and find what I am looking for. I have turned my mom onto this app as well. She loves it too! Keep up the great work! Blessings from a fan that is on the other side of the pond.

Beware! Very Poor Acorn TV Customer Support!. In June, 2021, Acorn TV offered a free 7-Day Trial so my wife and I signed up, paid Apple (Apple billed us) and we watched Acorn TV shows on our Apple TV through the Apple TV+ app initially. We downloaded Acorn TV’s app, requiring an Acorn TV password for our e-mail address, but Acorn TV never e-mailed us nor provided any password! We repeatedly e-mailed Acorn TV Cust Support to provide all of our account and billing details and we asked Acorn TV to verify this with Apple, but Acorn TV was NOT helpful and Acorn TV never issued a password nor contacted Apple. After much Acorn TV correspondence, Apple graciously agreed to refund our Acorn TV fees since Acorn TV never managed to issue us a password! We do NOT recommend Acorn TV because we got very poor Acorn TV customer support.

Unable to sign on. Were using this app, primarily on the Apple TV but occasionally on our iPads. Now, when I go to use it on my new iPad Pro it asked me to update my email and password but when I enter the correct credentials I get an error display saying it couldn’t update my profile. So I’m unable to use this app and service on one of my devices. Update: I finally figured out the issue. Apparently my new iPad restore had something to do with the Acorn TV app profile update issue. I ended up signing out of the app and signed back in and it’s working. Upgrading my rating back to 4 stars.

Ongoing tech issues. As a long time subscriber, over the last few months, tech issues have plagued my ability to watch programs. Videos freeze; videos freeze and return in some other episode. Weekends are the worst. Note that I have no playback issues with other streamers I subscribe to. I have contacted Acorn twice via their Contact form with no response. While Acorn has great and varied content, due to these frustrating and ongoing tech issues, this streaming service and its lack of communication may force a decision to cancel on my part.

Good content terrible app. As others have said, the shows on acorn are good and what you expect. The Apple TV app just falls flat. It seems like a company’s first attempt at an app without having ever looked at any other stream app. There is no working viewing history or place saving. All shows start at the beginning of the first episode of the first season. If you wish to watch a show in installment you have to remember where you were, find the correct episode and fast forward to where you left off. As this is a common complaint in the reviews, I have to question the company’s commitment to providing support and customer service.

Is Acorn broken?. To start with, I LOVE the British programs available. I use Acorn more than Netflix. However, the last few days Have been frustrating. After watching a program I’ll go back to watch something else and the screen will be black. I cannot get Acorn to respond. I have to keep turning my phone off and then on again. I’ve tried deleting app and reinstalling it. This does not help. What gives? Ugh.

No support follow through.. Downloaded the app sometime ago on my iPad, iPhone and Samsung TV. Works fine on iPad and iPhone. However, on my Samsung it works horribly. Playback on certain episodes wouldn’t play. It would just go back to main menu. Reached out to tech support and was assured that my issue had been escalated. Never heard back. Called a couple of times and was given same assurances. Confirmed with Samsung it wasn’t an issue on their end. After a couple of months, I never heard back. No email or phone call. Deleted the app. Would’ve loved to know what the issue was or have gotten some resolution.

Great app. Whilst I love most programmes in this app the gaps between series are too long and some of the shows are extremely outdated. Although, I did really enjoy watching ‘Pie in the Sky.’ The quality of programmes in this app are always top notch. It’s also nice to see programmes such as ‘Lovejoy’ which my mum used to love watching when I was younger. I highly recommend this app as a great alternative to all of the other apps out there which stream so much content that a lot of it is not of good quality.

Satisfied watcher. I love almost all the shows on Acorn. I wish that more of the seasons of the cop shows would be released. Also enjoy the different language shows and find it very easy to follow the translation . I was born in Scotland and enjoy Brenda Blethyn in Reba.I do think Law and Order UK is better than the USA. Keep ‘em coming! However, I now find myself wondering why no other Law & Order UK aren’t showing, nor Reba. I’m a sr citizen (72) and partially disabled, so this is my entertainment. Please bring more to ACORN, like Candace Renoir, Mrs. White, Whitstable Pearl, et al!! TY

Changes Not Good!. They are horrible!!! I’ve had problems since the updates were implemented. Never had to sign in prior, now it’s every time In order to continue what I was watching. A notice that my internet connection is lost seems to be the culprit. Erroneous. I love the content of ACORN and the price is doable, but only if I can access the site. Whatever improvements were done undo them so I can get back to watching and enjoying what I’m paying for.

Worst customer service ever.. It simply does not work with Apple devices! Not as advertised! First I could not log in on my Apple TV, it would just loop back to home and not stream any program. Temporarily addressed by mirroring via my iPhone. Alas, this is no longer possible on either my iPhone or iPad, I get a message that I do not have an active account, which is not at all accurate. Update: customer service is not very responsive either. I really enjoy the programs but what’s the point of the App if I can’t watch them? Update: Finally heard back from customer service. They told me to take it up with Apple, as though Apple is responsible for their terrible App developing.

Great content, terrible app. I subscribe to several streaming services and have no problems with playback at night various devices. The only exception to this rule is the acorn TV app. It is glitchy and often does not allow any playback at all even on new devices with updated iOS systems. Their customer service is useless as they only recommend that you reinstall the app, which never solves the problem. I have been a subscriber for nearly 10 years, and I am almost at the end of my tether. If this continues, I will not be renewing my subscription. I would highly recommend that you consider BritBox instead.

Love the shows, but . . .. Acorn TV is not very user-friendly. When you become accustomed to the interface of Netflix, Acorn TV is a little clunky and you cannot customize it nearly as much. It would be really nice to have profiles options and to have a better “continue watching” option. Several things I think could be done to improve the user experience. Having said all that I love the programming of Acorn TV.

No picture on some new episodes. Ackerly Bridge series 2 is posted, but some episodes lack a picture on both the most up to date app and online. There is nothing posted as to how to address or when it will be fixed. Other shows are fine. Last time I emailed an issue it took weeks to hear back. Hopefully, this is addressed soon. The app still needs work.
