Useful app. Just started studying German month ago. This app seems to have what it takes for a very beginner to get started. I feel as if I have learned more this month then I could have in a language school.

Quality app for remedial learning of phrases. I’m not a big fan of rote memorization of phrases, but if you already know German grammar (for example case and declension), then this app will drill you on vocabulary that you might have forgot. If you don’t know German grammar, then you will get phrases without explanations of why you will sometimes use “ein” or “einen” or “einem” or “eines” with the same noun. I was very impressed by the speech recognition feature and use that when I’m certain of the answer. Otherwise it would be laborious to have to type in obvious answers. That is why this app gets 5 stars from me.

German practice. A very good program for articulation. I like the “swoop” to show what words have been practiced and displays of how I am moving forward.

It’s good but.... In the chat box thing every time I go in the robot doesn’t talk at one point and I can’t do the suggestions and it won’t let me respond, so please remove that bug so I can learn German. Thanks!

Amazing App!!!. Even without the upgrade, this app gives much more access than Rosetta, despite being comparable! I love it!

Much better than DuoLingo, and cheaper. I did a 264 day run in Duo, and I regret not investing that time in Mondly. Actual, *usable* German learning, not memorizing “A duck is eating a Beetle”, or “The Bear is drinking Beer”

A better way to learn. So far it is better than Duolingo. I can actually use what I have learned I the first twenty minutes.

DECEPTIVE SUBSCRIPTION TRICK. After trying this for a few days with a free week subscription, I decided it was not for me and canceled automatic renewal. When I opened the app again, however, it offered me another free week so I thought I would give it another try. When I accepted the free week, though, II was immediately charged for a monthly subscription and had to contact Apple Support to get a refund.

Just like the Rosetta Stone!. When I suddenly found myself in Germany as a military wife, I didn’t know where to begin. I was given access to the Rosetta Stone for German and wow—the set up was so significantly different from when I studied French in college. I picked it up quick. And by the end of that year, I was naturally answering English questions in German and my dreams were in German, too. Ten years later and no one to speak German with, Ive lost almost all of it. I wanted to start studying again but can’t afford the Rosetta Stone. I can’t believe this exists as an app let alone for the price offered. I’ve never been more excited to learn another language before!

Incorrect solutions. This app is fine for very beginners, but it’s not helpful if you already know any German. Playing at the Advanced level, I still found it wasn’t challenging enough, nor did it help me understand the grammatical structure. Also, there are quite a few instances where the solutions given are wrong. For example: Mondly narration: Was studierst du? I type: Was studierst du? Mondly: Correct answer is Was studieren Sie? Mondly narration: Brauche ich einen Fahrkarte? I type: Brauche ich einen Fahrkarte? Mondly: correct answer is Brauche ich eine Karte?

Great. It’s great I recommend this to anyone who wants to learn German and thinks it’s going to be tough but this makes it I bit easier

Enjoyable. I am using this and another program to learn German. Both have pros and cons. What I like most about this program is the many opportunities available to actually speak the language, at the same time, you can just click on the word or phrase instead of speaking. What I like least is the lack of it to always acknowledge a correct spoken answer containing numbers. For example, I say „Es ist ein Uhr“, the program will see it as „Es ist 1 Uhr“ and not accept it. It does not mark it wrong, it just makes me click on the correct phrase. Frustrating.

Amazing!. I speak fluent English and my great grandpa was a full German. I knew nothing of the German language and I have been on here for about 4 months and can say fluent sentences to you in German!!!

Pretty Decent, Good Vocabulary. I just begin using this app and feel that it is a good value. There are a few items that need to be addressed. The main one is that the AI will speak the “underline“ when asking you a question in the lesson. In English, for example, it would actually say “do you have a underline underline underline underline underline” rather than just saying, “do you have a ________”. This can be very annoying. If it wasn’t for that I would give it a five star rating. I am only on day three though and it appears that the vocabulary and lessons are similar to Rosetta Stone and other language learning apps. I enjoy the format and interface with this app and will most likely end up using it for other languages in the future.

Very Practical. I learned conversational German while in Germany. It has been almost eight years since. This app is helping me refresh and correct a few things I was pronouncing wrong. Germans are very practical, so they mostly know a little bit of English and other languages as well. It is easier to befriend them when you at least try to talk to them in their language. Sehr gut! Ich empfehle! Warning: Payment required. The only thing I would fix is how challenging it gets. It stays the same, no matter how good I get. For example, it might say “select: one” and there are always pictures of the English numeral, which give away the answer. Also you get only one lesson (Lesson: Hello) without paying for membership. If not for these few things I rate 5 stars. Despite a few inconveniences, it is great for learning a new language!

Good app to help with easy conversations. Repetition really helps with memorizing new vocabulary and phrases. Wish they could let us redo the ones we made mistakes on at the end. The weekly review should also include lessons we do rather than just the “daily” exercise.

Amazing. I’ve learned so much thanks to this app. There is a free version and another version you have to pay for, but the free one is actually very good.

Easiest language learning app ever!!. This app has totally changed my mind on how to learn languages. In my free time I learn atleast 20 words or more fluently and the way that they teach it from saying it aloud, to making you take a test randomly in the middle to have you say it. Just makes my brain comprehend it so much easier and I think it would for everyone else too!! 5 STARS! I never give reviews on apps but this one deserves it !!

Best Language app. Best language app compared to other language apps I’ve used. German is a difficult language learn but using this app had helped me a lot.

Very frustrated. I used to use this app a lot for learning German. I’ve recently gotten back into it because I had to move to Germany for work, but some of the functions seemed to just not work anymore. The most frustrating of all is it will not pronounce the words in lessons anymore, but it still works in the daily lesson for some reason. If there’s something I’m doing wrong on my end please let me know, but I have it set to pronounce the words in settings and it works in daily lesson and chatbot only. Please contact me if there is a way to fix this issue

Easy to use. This app is easy and fun to use! It can be a great review or help you to learn new words and phrases! You learn with a combination of vocabulary, listening, speaking and writing.

Worth the money for premium!. This app is amazing and has pretty much any language you could want to learn!

It could be better. I use this app’s free content to supplement my learning, I might be inclined to use the paid version if there weren’t so many translation and audio mistakes. It doesn’t inspire confidence in the App when these happen every few lessons or more.

Only for absolute beginners. This app is very polished in terms of interface and graphics, but very poor in terms of content. Even when you choose an “Advanced” level it starts your lessons with words like “flower” and “garden”. Also, the idiosyncrasies of the various languages are not captured, for example, the importance of the articles in German.

Mondly:. The best language learning app I have found. I wanted to learn German because of Hogan’s Heroes and because I know someone who speaks German, and as well as people say German is one of the hardest languages. (I think). It is amazing, none of my family knows German, but my uncle also knows some from watching Hogan’s Heroes (I’m assuming). I try to practice everyday and write everything I learn down, so I can practice later and remember what I’ve learned. 5 Stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Totally recommend it to people who want to learn German or another language. P. S. I’m an 11th Grader/Junior this year in Highschool.

Good brush-up!. Very good way to review my high school German. The repetition is just enough to be helpful but not boring. I have noticed a few mistakes, such as when the recorded voice uses the formal Sie but you are only able to choose The more familiar Du for the answer.

It is okay. I lose my subscription after 7 days trial and the charged me for a month but no access to learn in the app It is okay now i just reinstalled the app and everything was okay

Grate learning system. U love this app but i wish it was a little harder. They make a big effort to put the answer right in front of your face so that you don’t miss it. Other than that, i love this app. Im really learning.

Love it. My fiancé is German so with the possibility we could move to Germany one day, I thought I would start some basic learning and this app is doing the job.

Good, but not great. This review is based on the free version, which works well as a supplement to other apps. Pros: -Has nice visual interface with a representative picture for each new word -Makes you practice new words and learn grammar by putting them in a sentence -It doesn’t feel hard; rather, it feels easy, and yet you are still learning -Intuitive interface that guides you through learning Cons: -It’s occasionally buggy. The word for “pie” is pronounced as a different word (I think the verb for “to cook”) but presumably spelled correctly. -I don’t like how you have to input an answer, press a button to check it, and then once you’re right you have to press a button again to continue. It’s just too much button-pressing. Since I know I’ve gotten it right, just take me to the next exercise. But if I get it wrong, then you can leave it on the same page and allow me to review my mistake. Having to press “Continue” all the time interferes with the flow. -At the end, when a summary of new things learned is given, the German words and phrases disappear right away and turn into English words. It would be helpful, instead, to have a list of German vocabulary on one side and the equivalent English vocabulary on the other so you can review it all at once, and to be able to tap to listen to the German words and phrases again as you review.

Seems like it could be great, but.... I thought I would give this app a try. I’ve been using other apps to study German. This one seems very promising. I did like The idea of the chat bot. However the speech to text was just awful. Every time I used it, it took six or seven attempts just to get it to recognize what I was saying. I did not have this difficulty with other apps. I’m sure it is partially an issue of my pronunciation, but I have to believe that it’s more than that because this does work in other apps for me.

Nice, simple. Very user friendly and easy to use for a beginner A1/A2 level. Still trying to see if it can take you into B1 level - haven’t found that content yet. Lots of simple listening and reading practice. Can be a bit sexist at times: always uses female coco iced EXCEPT when doctor is speaking - the ONLY time it uses a male voice. Really?

Terrible billing system. The Mondly App itself is a good language learning system. However, when you’re ready to cancel, it’s almost impossible to find how to do that on the app. And you will get automatically billed even if you don’t authorize it. I really dislike their Verifone billing system.

Love the APP. I was looking for a FREE German learning APP. While after I tried the first couple lessons, I really loved it and ended up buying the whole year membership.

So much fun!. I love this app! It used audio learning and flash cards. You can record a conversation back and forth, make sentences, or pair words. I just got the app and I already have so many points! You can track your progress with this brain that lights up once you Master phrases. It’s so cool! It’s a lot of fun and is more interactive then other apps. Highly recommend

German German. I enjoy learning with this app. It exercises vocabulary with cognitive relevance and groups lessons around subject matter to review and build on past lessons as you move forward.

Repetition. Repetition of reading, listening and speaking paired with visuals makes this way of learning German easier that other programs or apps. Helpful and well-paced for beginners. I wish the review of each lesson went a bit slower and the English translation had a larger font.

Works for me. Like the variety in the study. To try to get all stars I have to redo the lesson, which is great for me because I sound out the words and get better every time. :) thank you ^-^

Uses spoken German. I like this because it uses spoken German constantly, so you can focus on that and not always on the translations. It helps you to listen to the language and to begin to think in German.

Perfect German. This app is very useful for learning German. It utilizes reputation to reinforce daily lessons. It also utilizes the microphone to verity pronunciations. My German girlfriend says it teaches correct German.
