Great refresher. Great if you have a base knowledge of the language. Need to try unfamiliar language

Subscription. I hate it when apps lock almost everything and you have to pay for a subscription to use those features. I got to do a few lessons, and then EVERY. SINGLE. THING. LEFT. Is locked! All I want is I do is learn French! Geez! Unless you are willing to pay a lot of money, this app is useless. I’m only giving this 2 stars instead of 1 star because the few lessons that I could actually take used good techniques and the robotic pronunciation is better than some other language apps I use. I also liked the feature that you could have conversations with the robot. I would actually be willing to pay a subscription if it was cheap, for example $4.99/month or so, but this app is wanting around $10 a month, or $3 a week. That’s going to end up being over $100 dollars a year. I’m in my teenage years so I can’t afford that kind of money. This may work for someone older who doesn’t have to spend their money wisely and keep track of what they buy, but they are asking too much money just to use this app. I don’t mind if you lock a couple of things for premium user to have access to, but it just completely infuriates me when I’m only able to spend 10 minutes using an app and then there is nothing else I can do with it besides doing the same 5 lessons over and over again. Thank you for your time if you read this!

So much help. I’m only on level three but it is amazing it has been so much fun so far and you can add more languages you want to learn I’m doing French and Korean it’s so 🤩

l’application est pas non mal.. :3 i don’t like that i don’t have questions that i have to think for a sec to see if i’m really comprehending. it’s like “well you’re doing the excercises, so we don’t care if you’re actually understanding.“ there’s nothing past super basic learning with this app so you yourself hardly know if you are retaining the information. but i am doing the excercises so i hope not only am i learning but im getting better at learning french than i was doing it on my own. which we can only have a guess at. but being asked a question in a quiz and seeing and being unable to hide the answer right in front of me is my least fav part about the app.

A bit confusing but not bad. Well of course it Is going to be confusing but there are some things that just annoy me. For the start, it frustrates me when I loose a star cause I will just go back and redo the lesson, other then that this app is good to learn a new language henceforth the language French.

Good learning but... This app is really helpful in learning a new language however my only complaint is that after you do a week straight of learning & you earn the weekly quiz if it's not completed by the end of that day you lose the opportunity. It would be nice if these remained unlocked to completed anytime if you completed a whole week.

No response to a problem after I subscribed for a year!. I subscribe for a year but full access only works on my iPhone and not on my iPad. It keeps telling me that I paid but it won’t give me full access on my iPad and they won’t respond when I tell them I have a problem! Twice, I have asked them for help! This is unacceptable!

One of the best language teaching apps. Everything about this app and platform is tops. The practice lessons are well organized, easy to follow, and easy to hear and understand. They challenge you, but they don’t make you feel dumb. When you make a mistake, they explain things in an easy way. A great plus is that it’s available on both mobile and desktop; so, you have a lot of flexibility when choosing where and when to practice. It’s a great aid to langue learning

Worth it!. I’m a native English speaker living in France for 11 yrs… I’ve tried many different apps and formal studies to improve my French level…but this app has finally given me noticeable improvement with my vocabulary and speaking. I was so happy with the results that I bought the plan. This has been a great confidence builder for me. The short and daily exercises have really been perfect to stay consistent. Which is the key to learning.

I am Loving this App!. Thank you so much, Mondly, for creating an app that is very challenging, yet thoroughly teaches me the language using all ways of learning(visual, auditory, and tactile). I am an older adult and actually learning a new language... and remembering it! I also love that it works and guides you to the correct pronunciation. I can also choose hands-free lessons which is great for people with certain disabilities. I can repeat whatever I want whenever I want. I really love this!!!

Great app!. I love Mondly! It makes it so fun and easy to learn another language! Unlike some apps, Mondly uses relevant pictures and audible words introduce and reinforce new vocabulary. The new word is highlighted. We hear how it is pronounced while we see how it is spelled and sounds. The speakers have good diction. The user has the ability to slow them down if we need to, which I often do when learning French. I find it very helpful to have weekly and monthly quizzes to review, and I love the point system and competition within the monthly lessons. Overall, a fantastic app!

Liked it better when there was conversation practice. When I got this there was conversation practice at the end of each module. They’ve taken that out & now the only speaking practice you get is some sentences.

Great app. I am learning french and have tried all apps from Pilmsur to doulingo babbel busu etc. Mondly is the best.

Lots of Repetition. I learn through repetition and this way of learning is parfait! It is helping me get back to speaking French. I also like how when a verb is tapped it brings up the present, future, and past tense of the verb. Very helpful.

Natural learning. This app has phrases to learn, as if you were thrust into the country you’re studying. You learn simple phrases and words, learning more naturally than by simply memorizing words. I’m using Mondly in junction with Duolingo because I get something from each of them. I like how Mondly teaches phrases, and I become familiar with the cadence of how questions are asked, or how to answer them. The conversational parts are also fantastic, and you get to hear yourself pronouncing the words and sentences. Great app!

So much money. Ok so starting off it’s so much money and I understand and your making a lot of money and all but don’t only do one lesson free you should of made a half free and the other half money that would be so much better so if your looking for a full free app do not download this app!

Updates. I liked this app a lot. However, I just updated it and now when I try to open it, the screen goes blank and it minimized. If I try to go back to it it just minimizes every time. Completely in usable.

App makes mistakes and no way to correct. I am an advanced French student who merely wishes to improve my pronunciation but despite putting in my level, the app starts me out at a beginner level and then tells me 1) my haricots for beans is wrong 2) then shows me the correct answer, haricots! Bah humbug, I think this does not bode well for any app and I threw out my subscription on the first day of just the trial. Not trustworthy and I would not buy it.

They hold lessons for ransom. I have enjoyed this app very much. Pronunciation, Grammer and interaction is excellent. after paying for the full year in advance I thought it well worth the price. The full subscription app will work fine. But make sure you sign up for a Mondly account after you purchase. Otherwise the app may lock you out. Their customer service is great and helped me out Great App!

Surprisingly Good. I was wanting to learn French and I didn’t want to use one that was kinda focused on one language. I am very happy with this app. I’ve learned many phrases and words that has helped me learn. It is easy to navigate and learn the lessons you can repeat if you don’t get it one time. It is very effective. Me and my friend Kay oui oui will be very satisfied 😌

Mondly Learn French: Review. Ok, so if you are looking for a good, free French app, keep scrolling. This app is not free. Don’t waste your time 😐 Edit: For the developer response, most of the content is not free. Only the first few lessons are free, and the daily lessons are practically nothing. I think you can make enough ad revenue by putting in ads instead of charging a crazy amount to unlock any of the content. Apps always overprice their things. Just buy a French textbook for cheaper than look for a good app. Good, free apps don’t exist.

Its OK. Helps me learn some french but if you are very serious about learning french then this isn't a good app for you. But if you're not EXTREMELY serious about learning french then it should be good for you. WARNING: If you want to learn "faster" you have to pay and it advertises that ALOT.

Give it a go, it's free!. I have just picked it up this evening and have spent a couple of solid hours learning and thoroughly enjoying myself. Can be used if you have no knowledge of speaking French, but great if if you want to brush up in on your French you last learned at school. C'est tres bon!

Misleading. I didn’t realise this wasn’t free until it charged my iTunes account! Also cancelling subscription isn’t that easy and ‘unsubscribe’ option isn’t provided within the app. Overall it’s an ok app but it has lots of mistakes for example: voice doesn’t always match the text!

MONDLY. Mondly is a great app to learning all the keys to any language.

Good app but could be better. I’ve paid for a year. Now I realise there are some bugs. E.g. some of the words are spoken in English instead of French and my French husband said some of the translations are incorrect.

Why must you pay?. I completed all of hello in advanced mode and then to get to level three and up, I had to pay. Why? Over all, it was a pretty good learning French app but it would be awesome if you could get rid of the way that you make people pay to get level 3 and on.

One problem. Sometimes when I’m doing the hands free I repeat the word/sentence perfectly but it shows that I said something different other then that great app!

Ok. After the trial period I found the system wasn't for me but there is no unsubscribe in the app and it keeps charging me $14 a month. I have send comments and emails asking for help to no reply!

WOW. This is AMAZING APP

Terrible. Daily lessons are incredibly repetitive, to the point where the same questions are asked over and over again. Some daily lessons even repeat. Alright if you want to know how to ask someone if they have a dog, cat, or car multiple times.

French App Review. My daughter & I are going on a trip with her school French Club in the Spring to England and France and this app is very helpful for me to learn some of the language.

Perfect for beginner!. Amazing, easy and elegant interface! Great learning tool: cycles through material over and over until you know it. The audio is good, record and playback option is great, and the conversation bit is amazing - and it's overall a very polished application - it's ready to email your recorded-conversation and post up your progress on social networks if you're into that. Just phenomenal. Yes it's worth the price. Tried many apps, but not are as strong or interactive as this application.

learn over 20 languages for $20. Signed up for the over 20 languages for one price. very similar to rosetta stone. You are able to change on the fly to any other of the languages on the fly. have an inch to learn Arabic or Hebrew , spanish or french-got you covered. Really is a good app that gives you daily lessons, if you like. Only thing that would be better if the grammar section was a bit better and gave you rules, shortcuts, or even slang. I still recommend this app.

Buyer beware difficult to cancel subscription. Took advantage of free 7 day trial. Before purchase, alert said I could cancel in settings. No such thing. Looked everywhere, but can't find cancel. Now I have to complain to iTunes Store for money back.

Great tool for language learning. I love using Mondly- I am learning French and this app has helped tremendously. One feature that's especially helpful is that you can click on a verb and it gives you all conjugations, past, present and future, of that verb. I also like the way it teaches grammar and the fact that it lets you restart a lesson if you mess up. I would give it five stars EXCEPT I really don't like the speaking feature- nine times out of ten when I repeat a phrase into the microphone, it tells me I'm wrong. I think it doesn't take into account that most users will have their native accent when speaking whatever language they are learning. Now I just skip those exercises. Please fix this!

Entertaining!. I'm really enjoying this app, and I'm actually learning a little bit of French.

Suggestions and Praise. I am an active language app user. I like them all for different reasons. Mondly adds a monthly competition which creates reasonable goals and additional motivation for me. I feel that the recordings and pronunciations are clear, and the point system makes it fun. The layout could be more modern, but I enjoy it nonetheless. I think the balance between free and paid is one of the better models. The daily lesson is always free with the motivation to get to the weekly and monthly which are always available if achieved. The chatbot is the amazing, and the new update increased 3 scenarios to 8. I am a fan of the app and how they are continually trying to improve it. I played every day for nearly 4 months before I paid the subscription and it is worth it. However, I would like to make a suggestion. Duolingo has a color system to let you know the stage of each lesson. Although Mondly lessons don’t change, repeation is important for retention. Also, the point system rewards the player 10 times then drops the reward to a single point. It would be nice if a new symbol or color appeared at 5 and another symbol or color at 10. It would provide clarity for point seekers as to not repeat a lesson for only 1 point, as well as regular users who repeat lessons to know the frequency of which ones have and have not been done. As the points system already reflects this data, it does seem to have a graphic change would be much of a leap. I have repeated the same lessons repeatedly by accident and not others, because I don’t remember which ones I have only done once or a dozen times until I start them. It is frustrating. Other suggestions include: explanations of grammar, automatic search for friends using the app on multiple platforms (Facebook + Instagram + google…etc.), adding a small point reward for chatbot, taking daily lessons into past and future tense more often, and some type of team challenges to achieve goals or projects. The social element in language apps is weak in general. The gaming element in Mondly has a potential to create stronger social connections and thus more enjoyment and retention.
