Natural Cycles is more than a period tracker. Most other fertility tracking apps assume your cycle is 28 days long, even though 87% of women have cycle lengths that don't fit into the 28 day pattern... We understand that birth control is not a one-size-fits-all. Your cycle is unique to you! Our algorithm uses personalized temperature data to confirm your ovulation, reducing the risk of you being assigned an incorrect fertile day. Unlike period trackers, the NC° app allows you to identify your fertility status daily, so you can prevent pregnancy or plan for it with greater precision.

From birth control to planning pregnancy and every cycle in between – Natural Cycles is there for you with each stage of your fertility journey. Still not sure? Download the app and test out our Demo Mode. The app supports syncing with Apple Health.

Does the job. Not pregnant yet so the app does what I need it to, and I think it’s really cool to track what’s happening in my body. However when I first started this app it was so easy to use. I especially enjoyed and appreciated how well it worked in the morning when I would take my temperature while still laying down and try to go back to sleep to get some extra hours of rest. I would quickly and easily tap all the buttons, put my temp in, and it submits right away. It was so easy to steal an extra little bit of sleep. There was an update a little while back and now the buttons barely ever work the first time you press them. Sometimes I have to press “submit” 10-12 times before my temperature goes through. It’s a small issue but it’s extremely agitating especially after I’ve seen how well the app can run. I have made sure everything is up to date before writing this review. I’d be happy to change my review if this bug can be fixed. I truly appreciate the service it provides, I just feel like staring at the blue screen an extra 1-2 minutes in the morning prevents me from the quality of sleep I get when I snooze.

Customer Service is terrible. The app itself is ok. It’s not the best app I’ve used but it’s fine for basic cycle tracking. I used it for a couple of months before deciding to track my cycle elsewhere. Anyway, I received warning of the apps renewal in an email that was delivered to my spam, so I didn’t see it. And then I got charged for the subscription totally unexpectedly since I hadn’t used it, it wasn’t in my apple subscriptions list, and I didn’t see the email. I emailed the support immediately to explain my situation, since most apps with usually refund you if you contact within 24 hours of the charge. Not this place. They could clearly see I haven’t used their app in months. So as far as cycle tracking apps go, you could find better with people who will actually work with you should you find yourself in a problem with your subscription. It’s really a shame. I don’t even usually post reviews on anything but I’m so disappointed with the customer service. It’s really turned me off from trying this app again and truly I think there are better, more informative apps out there anyway. Don’t waste your time because you might get charged a year from now for trying it out today with no way to get your money back. I’d try Glow or Flo before trying this app. They both give you a lot more information that is helpful anyway.

So thankful for Natural Cycles. Prior to getting married I tried going on oral contraceptives which made me feel absolutely miserable! I had already felt a little hesitant with adding hormones to my body. After further research regarding oral contraceptives, I came to the conclusion it wasn’t for me. I heard from a friend about Natural Cycles & the way it transformed her natural family planning! She has had great success in it. I got married in September 18’ & have been using this app for 10 months. I LOVE it. It’s been super user friendly - the hardest adjustment initially was getting used to taking my temperature regularly. However, the notifications did help with that. It’s actually been super fun to feel more aquatinted with my body’s rhythms. My husband also feels like he can study me & know my body better as well which has been great. When I’m approaching my period, he’s prepared for my freak-out PMS. Our goal being newly weds has primarily been to prevent pregnancy. Having not used any other form of protection (except for pull-out on red days) the last 10 months, I can say confidently this APP has worked successfully for us!!!

Unsure About Accuracy. So far, I’ve used the app faithfully for over a month. I take my temperature at the same time every morning as soon as I wake up. My temperature variation has been very low. I’ve even been taking LH tests on the days the app suggests it. Despite this, the app still initially got my ovulation date completely wrong. The app said I ovulated on July 15th, despite negative LH tests, but my temperature did increase. I trusted it and figured I would have had a positive LH test on the one day that was skipped for testing. I had green days from then on. However, I had symptoms of ovulation more than a week after—increased libido, changes in cervical mucus, etc. Once my next period came, I logged it, and the app recalculated my cycle. It’s now displaying that I ovulated on July 25th, which based on my symptoms, sounds more likely. That’s a huge difference, and the app was telling me it was safe to have unprotected sex while I was fertile. I’m going to keep using it, because it is only the first month. Perhaps the app just needs time to adjust to my cycle. Just keep this in mind if you’re using the app for the first time. Thankfully, I’m not using this as birth control yet. I’ll update if my experience changes.

Pregnancy avoided!. I’m allergic to the ingredients in most forms of birth control, so I’ve been using apps for years to track my cycle. When I switched to Natural Cycles my boyfriend complained that I should just stay with a free service and not pay to add my temperature, especially since I’ve never had more than 5 day’s variation in my cycle in 16 years. This month I got sick just before ovulation and my temperature showed that ovulation was delayed by a week. I was skeptical at first since it also said my period would be delayed by a week, way more than it ever has been in the past, but I took precautions and my period started right when the algorithm said it would. With my previous service I would have almost certainly gotten pregnant this month. The algorithm is amazing, but support for importing previously collected data is a big need, as I had 16 years of info that I couldn’t transfer, even when I tried to do so manually. You can scroll into the past, select a date, and add data, but when you finish entering that data you’re taken right back to today again and have to scroll all the way back. This is very unhelpful when you’re entering 5 period days in a row to the cycle three months ago.

Never going back. I was incredibly skeptical of how something like this could work in place of birth control. I was on the pill for 14 years and finally got to a point where I didn’t want to be putting that into my body anymore. After much research, I felt natural cycles was my best choice in effectively tracking my menstrual cycle. I’ve been using the app since August 2019, and I am amazed at how much more in tune I am with my body and that yes, it is completely effective if you measure correctly and take lh tests when the app suggests you to (lh tests aren’t required though for the app to work). I can say with certainty that I will never go back to the pill because I find no reason to after using this app. I decided to go with the 1 year subscription because it made it cheaper per month. If you use the app efficiently, you can ‘level up’ and get your subscription free for life, well before your first year is up. If you are as hesitant as I was to get off the pill, just try it. The app is very cautious in the beginning while the algorithm learns about you, and I think you’d be surprised about how simple it can be to use tracking as an effective form of contraception.

Works well only if you are regular. I became pregnant on a form of birth control called an IUD. I had had it for 5 years. This pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and it was incredibly rough physically and emotionally. My doctor and I were unsure of what to do when it came to birth control because she didn’t trust another IUD, and there were no other non-hormone options I preferred. I researched and came across Natural Cycles, I paid and received a thermometer. Firstly, the thermometer was a disappointment as it was the exact same one I had purchased that was store brand from a local chain. I got over it and started the process of checking my temp and recording every morning. Things because tricky as my body began to do funky things it hadn’t done before my miscarriage. I missed a period, or I was late. Six months later I ended up pregnant again, while I shouldn’t have been able to. It was a mix of my body being all over the place, and your app not knowing the situation. Now I am 20 weeks pregnant, and I had switched the app over to track pregnancy from it preventing pregnancy. How awful. I lost out on so much money for something that didn’t work for me, then I thought it should be the best pregnancy tracker and have all sorts of info because of the science aspect. Nope, none of it. I am so disappointed that I have this useless app that I paid so much for. Some of it has to do with my unfortunate situation, but not all of it.

Please don’t buy this product. Hi - please don’t buy this product. I purchased the trial of Natural Cycles to try out the temperature model of tracking my cycle. I was tentative, as I’d heard mixed reviews, but decided petty quickly that this wasn’t for me. The thermometer was not simple to use - the screen doesn’t light up and it was always a hassle to read and input my temp first thing in the morning in the dark. Plus, too many people were getting pregnant using this method of birth control. I stopped using the product, assuming that because I had paid for the trial that I was safe after the trial ended, but I got charged for a full subscription. When I contacted customer service, they informed me that I had agreed to the fine print when buying the trial - I’ve never heard of a paid trial rolling into a full on subscription without additional consent. Furthermore, I looked deeper into the company, and found out that it is founded and lead by a white man! Unsurprising. Any company that exploits people with periods to make a buck, spearheaded by a white man is not a place I want to be. Trying to navigate the crazy world of birth control and being entrapped by purchasing a trail is scammy. Please, don’t support this company!

They don’t care about the customer. The app works just ok if you keep up with it. Took months for mine to be kind of right. Never really was spot on. Wouldn’t recommend to prevent pregnancy unless you are super always 100% regular. WARNING/BEWARE: if you get busy like most moms do and stop using the app beware! The app DOES NOT show up in your active subscriptions in the App Store. So if you use that to monitor all of your charges it will not work in this case. I stopped using the app due to being busy and having a toddler who prevented me from keeping on the schedule. I check my active app subscriptions regularly to avoid being charged for what I don't want. This app does not show up. I forgot I was subscribed then I wake up to an email from them and a credit card charge saying I have been charged. Their policy also prevents you from getting any refunds. I emailed them as soon as I saw the email (within half an hour of receiving) and while my card charge was still pending. They refused my refund even though it was not showing as an active subscription. I didn’t even get a courtesy email that my app would be renewing soon. They just want to screw you out of money. No support for their customer base at all. They are just in it for the money.

Wonderful! Absolutely must have. I do absolutely love natural cycles. I have been using the app about a year and plan on continuing usage. I’m so thankful that I have this as an option, it’s taught me so much about my body and allowed me to feel and have complete control of what goes on with it. There’s so much about my cycle that I was clueless about previously. It’s given me knowledge I feel every woman should have. I have and will continue to speak highly of this form of birth control. I do have two suggestions though, it would be great if the app was able to use cellar data as a way to save information without having to be connected to the internet. Two it would be wonderful if the thermometer had a light built into to it. As I live in a dark house and when I wake around 6 in the morning i can’t see what the temperature says without having to use my phone as a light, to not wake my partner. I understand that the thermometer has a save setting where you can look back on what your temperature was, but the number usually only flashes for a second and clears after so I never know if it’s accurate. Other than that, I’m stoked!

My favorite choice!. When I got engaged, I went to my gyno to get on hormonal birth control so that my husband and I could family plan together at a later date. Unfortunately, after switching pills three times and changing to the NuvaRing, my body and emotions were completely out-of-wack and I had every single negative side effect for every hormonal birth control I tried. It was awful. After nine months of this, my sweet husband told me that I should get off hormonal birth control and we’d use condoms, instead. I waited a few months for my cycle to regulate, then my doctor said we could try NFP (Natural Family Planning). That’s when a friend told me about this app! Best decision we ever made regarding birth control. We are empowered to know my body well and make the choices that are best for us on a daily basis. When we decide to try for a baby, this app also has a setting to help users plan pregnancy and track pregnancy. This is a great purchase. It comes with a very accurate basil thermometer, and you get messages on the app to further your knowledge about the subject. I HIGHLY recommend this. ❤️

Highly irregular period. I've got the worst irregularity since coming off hormonal birth control from a six month period leading up to January 2018. (Accutane) Before that I wasn't monthly regular but since getting off hormones I keep having three to five months of nothing - sounds like heaven but it's a nightmare when using this app as a newlywed. So far I'm not pregnant. I don't have problems measuring. We don't have problems with protection when it says to. I love that it's natural. However it's having troubles nailing down my ovulation. It just gave me a three week run of green days even though I didn't get my period. We didn't trust it, so we didn't go unprotected until this past week... This morning it went back to red days with a new estimate for where my ovulation happened. (Didn't reestimate where my green days were so that's ok) I'm a little freaked out. Will update later. In the meantime, hoping I regulate, and recommending this like crazy to my friends that are regular. (Finally non-hormonal birth control!!!) But we'll see how well this works for my cycle.

Makes Me Wonder Why I Ever Took the Pill. I depended on oral contraceptives from age 14-32. First it was to treat painful periods, then acne, then stabilize depressive mood swings, and finally to prevent pregnancy. It seemed like the magic answer! In my 20’s my abnormal cervix cell issues began. My doctor insisted there was no causation only correlation with oral contraceptives and cervix cancer, but after my 2nd health scare in March of 2018 I dropped the pill and dramatically claimed I’d rather be pregnant than dead. By August, just 5 months of no pill and using this app instead, my cervix cells were back to normal and healthy again! I love this app and wish it was provided to me as a contraceptive option earlier in my life. The only tip/trick is taking your temp IMMEDIATELY when you wake: before you pee, or cuddle, or pet the cat, or even toss and turn. Even with my deviating temperatures I have become more in tune with my body and I have successfully identified my ovulation days. I feel more in control of my body. I’ve escaped a flawed women’s health system and opted out of the mass pharmaceutical world. There are no side effects. There is no anxiety over remembering a pill. There’s just basic science and common sense and it’s great for my partner and I!

Love this app but not the thermometer. I recently switched to natural cycles from hormonal birth control and I love it! Im on month 4 and my cycle is no longer a mystery to me! My only issue is with the thermometer... I wish that it would beep only twice and a little more quietly as it often wakes up my partner if he wants to sleep later than me on a day off. Also, ideally I wish it could pair with your app through Bluetooth to update your temperature, or at least have a separate window for the last temperature you took. If I wake up early and take my temperature in the correct window and then decide to snooze a little longer, when I go to get my temp off the thermometer I have like two seconds to view the previous temperature and then it’s gone!! That’s a stressful thing especially when it’s a really important day to get a reading in. Other than that though, I love the app and how you can interact with it, thanks!!

So far I love this app! But.... I have been using this app so far for close to a couple of weeks after doing extensive research on using it as a birth control method and going over the different studies around it and I am so excited to finally be learning about and taking charge of my reproductive health! Its so helpful and I feel more and more confident as the days go by. However! As i have been reading and learning more about the FAM method I have been made aware of a couple short comings that I would hope to see addressed. One is that this app does not take your cervical fluid into account or even track it. I understand not focusing on including it into the algorithm but I feel that the app at least showing it in comparison on the graph to your temperature throughout the month could provide a lot of insight as your cervical fluid provides real time insight on your fertility and is not based on past predictions. There also is not an option to put in the position of your cervix which is another pillar of indication of your fertility that if shown beside the basal temperature could help women know again personally in real time their bodies signs of fertility. Not that the app has to take it into account for its predictive method I know its accuracy is very good as is. Just saying to have both those other factors more visually mapped out would be a step up in this apps utility.

I love this form of birth control! It’s liberating and easy and accurate!. I am 24 and have been on and off birth control since I was 18. I’ve never really liked the idea of being on long term (or short term honestly) hormonal birth controls. I tried a copper iud but my uterus rejected it 🙄 I was so close to getting an implant because I was getting pretty bad at taking my pill but then I heard about this app. I talked with my partner about how he felt about doing this and he said “if I was a girl I would use this! It sounds a lot safer than using pills or something permanent.” And that was all I needed to get off the pill. We’ve been using this app for 4 months now and I work night shift so as long as I sleep for 4 hours I can take an accurate temperature. He can also download the app so he can see my green and red days to see when we need to be more careful. I feel great using this too because when we start trying to get pregnant (3 years away but still) I won’t have to detox my body from the pill or go to the doctor to get anything removed or anything. It does take discipline to take your temp every morning but it’s worth it and easy if you have a routine. I use a sleep app called sleep cycle to make sure I’ve gotten enough hours to take a temp so that’s part of my routine ☺️

LIFE CHANGING. I have been on hormonal birth control for 8 years consecutively. I was 18 years old when I first started and although my periods became more regular and I felt more at ease by preventing unwanted pregnancies, I discovered many reasons why the birth control pill is NOT good for my body. I suffer from hypothyroidism, I was diagnosed at age 11. My periods were never regular and when I began taking the birth control pill, I felt like all my issues were “gone.” It took me 8 years to discover that I do not NEED a synthetic hormone in my body. I stopped birth control 3 months ago and have used this app along with my basal body thermometer each morning to track my temperature. The app does ALL of the work for me! I have NEVER had regular periods in my life! (Except while being on the birth control pill) I have had 3 menstrual cycles since stopping birth control. All of which were predicted by the app. I now know when I’m ovulating! It’s such a great way to prevent and plan pregnancies!! I highly recommend this method if you are looking for a natural, inexpensive, and safe method of birth control. I will never go back to using the hormonal pill! You will learn so much about your body and feel AMAZING.

Great option for non hormonal BC. I don’t usually do reviews but this app has changed my life. Before this, I had been on three different types of pills and had the implant for 2 years. I was hesitant to switch to non-hormonal because of the lower prevention rate and the negative talk from some Dr.s and parents… It was the best decision I have made. I feel 100x better mentally and physically. I am also much more knowledgeable about what is going on inside my body. I would recommend this app if, you have regular periods and can keep a somewhat regular sleep schedule. The only downfalls to think about are that you will not have a lot of “not fertile” days until the app has enough data, and you will have to use another type of contraceptive during sex on fertile days. For me it took 3 months after getting off of HBC for my body to regulate and for the app to know my “not fertile” days (I’ve heard this is pretty quick). This app goes so much more in depth than just taking your temp. It also have features for you to learn about your cycle and body.

Great natural birth control option. I’ve tracked my basal body temp as a birth control method for over a decade, and Natural Cycles is by far the best tracking app I’ve used. It’s insightful as well as educational about sexual and reproductive health. I’ve been using it for about 2 years now and I love being so in-tune with what my body is doing. It is, however, not very parent friendly. It’s very much intended for women who don’t have children that wake them up at night. I have 3 kids and it’s impossible for me to measure my temp at exactly the same time every morning. I know that sometimes I’ll have higher temperature variation because of that, and that can make the algorithms confused and unable to accurately predict my cycle. The app is constantly reminding me to do better at taking my temp and suggesting that I take the temperature training quiz. Trust me, I know how all of this works by now. It would be more helpful if the app would ask about the obstacles I deal with in getting accurate temps every day, and then maybe just recognize that I’m doing my best instead of having such judgmental or condescending suggestions for improvement all the time. I wish there was a way to track when and why my sleep was disrupted.

Body knowledge. I love learning about my body and knowing when I’m ovulating not JUST so I can avoid or have protected sex but also because after years on birth control, I got off it at 25 and my natural periods disappeared and I thought my days of ovulating normally were done. The doctor said my ovaries were sluggish. I had no concept of what my real natural body was supposed to be like, it made me depressed. 3 years later I got my periods back (3 years people)! And then I fell in love. But I knew I couldn’t return to birth control and how badly it had messed up my body, plus I had just gotten back to being my normal period self again. Natural cycles has been the perfect solution for me and it fits perfectly with my lifestyle, and when it sent me the message that my cycle was within the realm of average I wanted to cry tears of happiness. My only wish is for the thermometer to be an IoT device, a smart thermometer which sends the info directly to your phone. Maybe it’ll even have a soft alarm to remind you to take your temp one day. Just imagine! Either way I love this app and am so glad I have it. Thank you 💜

I LOVE this app!!. So my journey with birth control (like for many women) wasn’t fun. I started taking ~the pill~ when I was 17. For years I struggled with migraines with aura that I had no clue were linked to my body not liking those hormones. So I switched to a mini pill. Those were the worst periods of my life!! Eventually I realized maybe hormonal birth control wasn’t for me. I spent nearly all of my years as a young woman with some sort of artificial hormones in me, so it was time for a reset. I’ve make natural cycles part of my daily routine. Every morning my alarm goes off, I take my temperature, then I take my vitamins and go about my day. I’ve learned so much through this app and I feel so much more connected to myself, my body, and my partner since I’ve become a natural cycler. I would recommend this app to any one who wants to learn more about their body and fertility. One day, I’ll switch the app to “planning for a baby”. I love that this app can be whatever you need it to.

Fantastic. This app makes my life so much better. I was on hormonal birth control for 7 years and had no idea what was happening with my body. I was gaining weight and had constant cramps because of my IUD. I was in a terrible mood all the time and felt like i’d lost myself. Once I switched to natural cycles, it felt like one of those cheesy Humera commercials. You know like when the girl is dancing in a fried talking about how happy she is that she switched to humera. like that but with non hormonal birth control. I had forgot what it felt like to feel normal and not be in pain. I have more energy and i feel like i have more control over my body! I’ve also learned so much about my cycle and how my body works! I would definitely recommend to everyone! I think it would be fantastic for girls who have just started their periods to learn about their cycle and body. it would’ve saved me a lot of stress and confusion! Love this!

Answer to my prayers!. Okay that may be a bit dramatic...but seriously it is how I feel about this app. I've only recently become sexually active and my friends were like you better go on the pill. And I've honestly always been pressure and questioned for not going on the pill. Yes my period is not my favorite thing but I feel like it's my body doing it's thing. And I really only have one maybe two days of discomfort so messing with my body natural chemicals just weirded me out. Not knocking anyone who uses birth control the female body has such a variety that I think it's important to do what's best for you. And there is an option if you are on birth control for this app. It really is for any woman! So I love this app. The notifications are so helpful and after my free month trial I will be signing up for the year. I like that I will be able to track and get to know my body even more because the bleeding part of our period is only the beginning of our cycle and there is so much more to learn and discover from our bodies. Keep up the good work Natural Cycle!

Easy to use, reliable. I have been using Natural Cycles for a little over 6 months now and I love it! I have never been on any birth control and didn’t want to start any when I got married, but my husband I were getting tired of having to use condoms every time so when I saw this app I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it out. I keep the thermometer on top of my phone at night so when my alarm goes off I take my temperature right away and log it. Some cycles I do get a lot of red (use protection) days if the app has trouble detecting ovulation, but it’s still way better than having to take birth control or use condoms every time. I also like that I am aware of my body and cycle more now. I would highly recommend this app to anyone that is married or in a committed relationship where if you would get pregnant it wouldn’t ruin your life plans. I feel that it is very reliable if you use it properly, but there is room for error so if getting pregnant would devastate you, this probably isn’t for you. But for us, we aren’t currently trying to have a baby but probably will in the next year or two so I feel comfortable using this and realizing that there is a chance i could still get pregnant. Plus when we do decide to have a baby, knowing my cycle will hopefully make it easier.

Read the terms of service - no refunds. Not only is this product not 100% effective, as followed with my doc alongside tracking here, like other reviewers below, I actively check my subscriptions and had canceled (or so I thought) this app a very long time ago. Cut to now when I’ve been charged for a product I haven’t used in a very long time, and they blame “email being sent to spam” and claim I had not properly processed the cancellation on my end. This is an issue the company can resolve, but chooses not to. How convenient that there is a pattern of user experience that is confusing enough to where they conveniently get to charge our cards for services we don’t use. A business like this app should be drafting communications in their email manager to prevent being sent to spam. And even if it does get sent - why am I being charged for services which have not been rendered? This company needs to reevaluate how they audit utilization. If the user shows no data after 3 months, we should be actively informed of proper cancellation procedures, many times over (especially since they are not auditing email communications for spam).

Love App, thermometer could improve. I have been using this app for 2 months now. I really like seeing the graph and being able to understand my cycle better. I wish the thermometer had a backlit screen so you could read it better. Also, your temperature disappears quickly and I’m usually half awake to read, making reading AND recording difficult. Natural cycles made the suggestion to Press the button before the 10beeps go off with your temp reading and when you turn it back on later, your last reading is stored. I’ve been doing this, but it gives you 1 second to read before losing the temp reading. So you have to be very strategic and it makes the experience sort of stressful. I am committed to sticking with this system regardless. I paid the yearly fee and want to keep tracking. But it’s a whack thermometer (and I honestly thought it would automatically upload the temp to the app until I opened the box and realized the reality). Great App, love the knowledge and graphs.

Have used for a year and a half. I have used this app for a year and a half. My main complaint is that my cycle is SUPER regular and my temperature variation is very low so my ovulation is extremely predictable. Yet, the app still gives me about 43% of my 28 cycle as red days. So When they say it’s 98% effective when used perfectly, that means you’re basically not having unprotected sex for half of the month. Even less if you have a less predictable cycle. At that point you kind of could skip the app and just have unprotected sex only the week before your period. Since my ovulation is literally always within a two day window we just follow that and avoid unprotected sex for a seven day window (five days before earliest ovulation) rather than the apps recommended green/red days. But it’s annoying because I know if I got pregnant the app would count me as someone who wasn’t using the app properly, when really the proper use just isn’t realistic!!

Absolutely Life Changing. Natural Cycles has changed my life, and I will rave about it to anyone who will listen! I was on the pill for 10 years and didn’t know all the negative ways it was impacting my body. I was afraid of an iud aftering hearing many horror stories, and I felt discouraged and trapped with hormonal bc. I took a chance with Natural Cycles, and although my partner and I were nervous at the start, we’ve been blown away by the simplicity of the app, the formatting of the data, and overall accuracy of this method. Remembering to take my temp every morning is no more difficult than remembering to take the pill every night, and I feel like a fog has been lifted from my whole body. I’ve lost a few pounds (changing absolutely nothing in my life aside from the pill) and although my periods are a bit more painful they are now shorter in length. I feel more connected and in control of my body, and both happier and healthier than I have in a long time! 💃🏻💕

Amazing !. I recently had an incredibly painful ruptured ovarian cyst for the first time and after doctors told me it was “common”. I did some research and found that they can be caused by hormone imbalances. Just because things are common doesn’t mean they should be happening!! I had the hormonal IUD for about 4 years and was on the pill for about 3 years prior to that, so I always had extra hormones being pumped into my body. My sister found this app and I immediately had my IUD removed. I’ve been using Natural Cycles for about 4 months now and I love it! It’s so easy to take your temperature every morning and the app is so user friendly. It’s also nice getting in-tune with your body and knowing how you feel before a period or when ovulating. I recommend it to all my friends that are still on hormonal BC because I know having extra estrogen and progesterone introduced into the body most definitely disrupts the natural balance that your body keeps. This app makes it easy to be hormone-free.

Awesome for natural birth control. For those of you that don’t want hormonal birth control and the effects of it this app is awesome. You can use a thermometer at home or you can use theirs. I use theirs just because then I’m not risking cross contamination if someone is sick in our house and needs a thermometer and I can just keep it on my night stand. I feel it tracks really well, but with that being said you need to be on top of it in order for it to be 100% accurate, obviously I know everyone is human and we forget I know I do but as long as you get right back on it as soon as your remember your good. It has so much information about the female body especially how to check for possible breast cancer, which I think is very important. I have used this for almost a year now and I really like it and it is also nice to learn my body’s natural cycle and also letting it do it’s own thing rather than be pumped full of hormones from a pill or however else.

So wonderful!. My husband and I use this app to aide us in NFP. It has been amazingly accurate and so great! I think what this app does to empower women to learn about their bodies and take charge of their fertility in a healthy and natural way cannot be understated. Thank you so much for this wonderful tool! If I could make a suggestion though, it would be maybe to tweak the wording of a particular message. I had my profile set to prevent pregnancy mode as my husband and I have not been actively trying for a baby. However, we are a couple who is open to life, so there are times (through no fault in the app) that we are knowingly intimate on a red day. I just found out that I am expecting and hit the follow pregnancy function. I was disheartened to get the message that said you were sorry I got pregnant while in prevent pregnancy mode. Now, granted I am someone who looks at all new life as a joy and a blessing, regardless of it being planned or unplanned, but for someone who may be more surprised and scared about an unplanned pregnancy may take that message to heart and it can be really discouraging. May I suggest that regardless of the mode a cycler is in, that you greet them with a message of joy and encouragement? Instead of “we’re sorry”, just say “congratulations” and then go ahead and have them take the survey you put in the message. This app is so amazing at spreading positivity and empowering women and I just think that should consistently be represented throughout.

Hormone free. We struggled to find a birth control that was hormone free. I was using the pill years ago but I really hate the idea of pumping my body with hormones plus it’s not how we want to live out our lives. After trying the family planning method on our own, we ended up pregnant with twins, oops! We have three children now and aren’t afraid to have more but aren’t necessarily trying. This app helps us be more aware of my cycles. The green and red days make our sex life less anxious and it’s fun to look forward to the green. I’d rather take my temperature every morning than take a pill! The app is accurate and at first all the red days seem discouraging (be patient and diligent) but I appreciate the conservative approach in the algorithm. Be ready for a bit of a learning curve as you try to figure out how the app is calculating everything as well as some anxiety about whether you’re doing it correctly. The app sends messages to let you know if your temp reading is good or needs work.

Revolutionary!!. I love this app. I value living as much as a natural life, free from medications and hormones as possible. Like many women, I am concerned about the short and long term effects that birth control would have on my body, and possibly my future children’s development. So, This app has given me peace of mind about me and my partner’s sex life, and also the freedom to say “no” to hormonal birth control. I love all the educational material that this app provides for women to understand our bodies’ natural processes, rather than relying on a Doctor to use meds or hormones to interrupt our natural rhythms. I’ve used it for preventing pregnancy for over a year, and it works well. The app has helped me get to know my body more, and I can honestly say this has helped our relationship too. Admittedly, It has been a struggle to stay in the habit of measuring my temp every morning with lots of changes happening in my life. I am trying to get back on track now, but it still predicts my period and ovulation very accurately & is usually only off by a day or two. I highly recommend. Also, I showed my PCP doctor this app, and she loved it, and said she’d recommend to other female patients!

I recommend for every woman!. I love natural cycles and I seriously want to tell everyone about it. Since using it, I have learned SO much about my reproductive health and feel so much more in tune with my body and even emotions. It’s so helpful to be able to always know what part of my cycle I’m at and why I may be experiencing certain moods or physical symptoms. When my cycle was 2 months long, I knew it was because I was stressed… and then traveling… and then sick. When I finally ovulated, I could see it in the app and know to expect my period soon. The algorithm has been super accurate and I love feeling prepared for each part of my cycle - like getting my period products ready and my mindset in check. I especially love the app’s encouraging messages - it keeps me motivated to keep logging data and excited when I reach a new milestone. And I have such peace of mind knowing that I’m not adjusting my hormones for birth control. Knowledge is literally power!!! Big applause to the people behind the algorithm - this is such a win for women everywhere.

From prevention to planning!. I used Natural Cycles for prevention for 15 months. I loved learning about my cycle throughout the process and felt amazing being off of hormonal birth control. My partner and I were waiting until our wedding day to switch to the planning mode. We were a little lax the month of our wedding — and had unprotected sex the day before and the day of ovulation. I also had a + LH test the day before. We knew it was risky, but I honestly didn’t expect our journey to pregnancy to be an easy one. Two weeks later it was our wedding day and coincidentally my period was also due on that day. Sure enough, it never came. My cycle rarely fluctuates from 28 days, so when day 33 arrived and I still hadn't gotten my period, I figured it was time to take a test. And we’re pregnant! I couldn’t be more impressed with how accurate this app is. Even though we were in the prevention mode, we weren’t really trying to prevent. Whether you want to prevent or plan, this app will help you get there.

Great app! Could use a few tweaks to make it amazing.. I was on the pill for about 15 years. I struggled to take it on time, missed it at least once a month and I ALWAYS had migraines during the week of my period when I wasn’t taking it. My mom suggested I try this app and I am very happy with what it does for me. Sometimes I need my husband to remind me to measure my temperature though, because with kids and pets in the house I sometimes just jump out of bed to attend to their needs and forget I should measure right before that! This is where I think the app could be developed a bit further. I feel like it’s perfectly set up for women with 9-5 jobs. The reminders are always set to a time that is way too early for me who sometimes comes home from work after midnight. It would be amazing if I could set the time for reminders myself. I would also appreciate a way of tracking things like my migraines, mood swings, and things that help make me understand my body better. Please download this app if you feel ready to get rid of these terrible mood swings, headaches, and all the other bad things cause by hormones.

FINALLY the natural birth control women deserve. I am definitely not against hormonal birth control methods; however, I unfortunately had a horrible health scare because of a reaction to hormonal birth control. As a newlywed & only 23 years old, I felt like my only birth control options were to use birth control methods that I wasn’t personally comfortable with or continue to risk my health... and no woman should EVER feel that way. Thankfully, at my lowest point, a sweet friend introduced me to Natural Cycles. My husband & I researched it thoroughly & we were shocked to learn that the clinical trials suggest that Natural Cycles is MORE effective than the pill! So we decided to give it a try - best. decision. ever. First & foremost, my health problems that resulted from hormonal birth control have disappeared because now every step that I take towards contraception is 100% natural. It took a couple of months for me to get used to it & for Natural Cycles to hone in on my unique cycle, but now it’s just the simplest routine. I’ve learned so much about my body! I feel so empowered knowing that I’m in control AND getting healthier by the day!

Excellent BC APP buy be wary in your first 4 months. (Been using Natural Cycles for 5 months now and am a big fan). The app all in all teaches you so much about yourself that you never learned in health class and the customer support is incredibly helpful, and it has allowed me to have a birth control method that works for me. DEFINITELY take the quiz to see if you would be a good fit for NC because this is not right for everyone depending on lifestyle and other factors. I was on hormonal birth control and the changes to my mood were too much so I decided to try NC. If you can handle taking a pill every day at the same time I would say you can handle doing the temperature reading. In the beginning you will get mostly red days because it doesn’t know what’s going on with you yet, but once you start getting green you can be comfortable with them. Use a condom on red days always (and perhaps combine that with withdrawal for highest pregnancy prevention). P.s. I would say be careful with the LH tests when you start using them because they can be hard to read.

Effective. My husband and I have been using Natural Cycles birth control for 6 months now. I started it 4 months before my wedding so I could get used to it. It’s been easy to use, I take my temperature every morning, log them in the app and take LH tests when recommended. I have a very regular cycle and get about 60% non-fertile days. The algorithm is cautious, I find it unlikely at least with my regular cycles that it would fail. The articles are also helpful and the app feels supportive. This has been an intuitive to use means of family planning that didn’t require me to make any charts. We hope to use the plan pregnancy version in the future. I do wish that the app would let you add multiple LH tests in a day. I usually take 2 just to be sure. The only real complaint I would have is that the provided thermometer is not backlit, so you need to have a light source to read it in the morning and that while it does have the ability to view your previous temperature it only shows on the screen for a split-second and I have definitely missed it a couple of times. Also just an FYI their store is really expensive, you can find those things lots cheaper elsewhere. We did make the mistake of buying the app without looking for discounts and there are some available. So don’t make that mistake.

Education is power. I’m 32 and was on and off birth control for 15 years. I’ve had fibroadenomas (lumps) removed from my breasts. I suffered from sore breasts a week before my period. It took me a while to get aroused... But being OFF birth control has made all those symptoms disappear. Synthetic hormones are a huge (and dangerous) chemical disruption to your entire system. I love Natural Cycles. I love knowing my body better. I love NOT having sore breasts before my period. I think if we could educated women about how our bodies work (with the help from Natural Cycles), then more women would ditch their birth control and actually be able to know when their ovulating. I actually didn’t know anything about ovulation until I started using this app. I’ve also been using the PH strips and I feel extremely satisfied with this app. I’ve had sex, with protection, and knew if I was ovulating or not. That’s a strong sense of awareness. Rather than ‘popping a pill,’ get to your know your body and let your hormones do what they were meant to do! I just love Natural Cycles and have referred it to many of my friends. The world needs more people like the ones who invented Natural Cycles!

Thank you!!!. From ages 18-35 I struggled with food allergies and dermoid cysts. It never occurred to me my ovarian cysts and autoimmune struggles were linked to my pill… I know it’s anecdotal but without the pill I can eat like a normal person again, have no cystic pain (which was treated by me taking double birth control) and my mood is much more stable. Not to mention, this app, plus LH tests, plus condoms for red days is cheaper annually than my monthly birth control prescription even with insurance coverage. I’m a happy user with an irregular ish period (ovulation day between cycle day 13-23; cycles varying from 27-39 days) and we’ve been nothing but happy with this arrangement. My husband is also very curious about all of the articles and we read and discuss together. Coming from VERY Christian upbringings we are constantly surprised by how much we learn in our 30’s and wish we might have had a little better sex ed when we were in school! Thanks again for developing this amazing app. I recommend it to everyone I know!

Customer service is terrible. Update- they finally fixed the issue. If they had been more prompt about it I would give 5 stars. My app doesn't work. I paid the subscription renewal fee for a year, and I haven't been able to use it for over a week. I spoke to customer service about this issue, and after several days they let me know it was a glitch in the most recent update, multiple people were having this problem, and the devs would be fixing it. It has been several more days now, no word about an update or fix to this. They just told me to use protection since I can’t access my birth control app. If you market this as birth control, you can’t just say “sorry its not working” for over a week. The only issue is they can’t find my payment in their system, even after I sent them an app store receipt. Why not manually unlock my account for a few weeks while they fix an issue they caused? No, instead they just told me sorry, no birth control for you until we get around to fixing this. Unbelievable! Before this experience I really enjoyed Natural Cycles but paying for this and it not working for weeks is not acceptable.

Knowing yourself is empowerment. I started taking hormonal birth control (the pill) at the age of 17 for 2 years. At 19 I got pregnant with my daughter. I got back on the pill up until 3 years ago (I’m 31) when & started to notice that I could no longer take the pill without wanting to throw up every time. My body was rejecting the thought of having to swallow chemical hormones. At that time, I also met my husband, who supported my decision of going off the pill and other types hormonal birth control (my doctor kept trying to push IUD). It took my body almost a year to regulate itself; I went through horrible night sweats, mood swings, acne flare ups, the works. After some research I ran into “Natural Cycles” and decided to give it a go. I haven’t looked back since! Natural Cycles can be used to either prevent or plan a pregnancy. It’s awesome and empowering because YOU are in control. It takes a little bit to get used to measuring your temperature every morning, but once you have it down, it becomes part of our daily routine. I love getting to know my cycle and look at all the data the app has collected on my cycle! It’s really neat!

Game changed. I first started hormonal birth control when I was 15 and first became sexually active. While this was the best option for the yearly years, I began to experience extreme hormonal imbalance in my mid-20s and was looking for a non-hormonal option to prevent pregnancy… in my research I stumbled upon Natural Cycles. I finally took the plunge and got my IUD removed. For 5 months after getting my IUD removed, my husband and I religiously used condoms while I gave my body the much needed time to rebalance and find it’s new normal off of hormonal birth control. Following these 5 months, for the last year we have been using Natural Cycles to prevent pregnancy and it has been working great. We have unprotected sex on green days (and do not use withdrawal method) and use condoms or abstain on red days. We have not had any pregnancy scares or worries. If you have regular cycle and are regimented enough to take your temperature first thing in the morning I can’t recommend this method enough!

Fantastic. I’ve been using Natural Cycles for just over a year and will never go back! Prior to this, I tried every pill on the market to find one that didn’t affect my mood (depression, anger), my weight, my skin, my sex drive etc. I even tried Implanon, which had to be removed after a few months. Now I am putting no medications or hormones into my body, spending far less money and instead of remembering to take a pill every day, I take my temperature when I wake up. Same # of diligent steps required. Same amount of control over pregnancy. But nothing altering my body from the inside. Measuring temperatures to prevent or assist in pregnancy has been around for a long time (my mom says they used to pencil in paper charts). This app just brings the technique into modern times. It also generates a lot of statistical info as it learns about you and as a result, I understand the way my body works much better than I ever have.

So thankful for Natural Cycles!. I switched from a birth control pill to Natural Cycles 5 months ago and I am so glad I did. I started the pill when I was 14 because of terrible period cramps and then just kept taking it for contraceptive purposes until a friend told me about Natural Cycles 14 years later (5 months ago). I did my research and started Natural Cycles as soon as I finished my last pack of pills. I had been wanting to get off the pill for some time due to the gut and anxiety symptoms I was feeling but was scared to change something I knew worked and that my body was used to. With Natural Cycles I finally felt confident to make the switch after learning about this app and how it works. I really love how it teaches you more about your cycle and allows for a healthier body. The app and thermometer are easy to use. The calendar has historical data and forecasting which has been really helpful. I love the messages that let you know where you’re at in your cycle and give feedback. My life has changed for the better and I owe it to Natural Cycles!

This App Has Changed My Life. I have always struggled with hormonal birth control. It took me 5 different pills to find one that worked for me and even that one resulted in weight gain and significant mood swings. I tried the copper IUD and had a never ending period and then I tried the hormonal IUD and never had a period. I also had intense cystic acne result from the hormonal IUD and used tons of products to try and eliminate it, not realizing that these same products for my skin were impacting my fertility. I finally found this product and it has changed my life and my relationship with my body. I now know so much more about my cycle and after removing my hormonal IUD, all my acne has cleared up. If you’re on the fence, give this app a try. It is easy and inexpensive and it’s effective! Just be sure to pay attention to where you are in your cycle. I also love that I can immediately start trying to conceive when I’m ready. You won’t regret it!! Best birth control ever!!

Amazing alternate to hormonal birth control. I don’t frequently go out of my way to write a review but I feel this one is a biggie and worthwhile. Much like many women in the 25-35 age range, I’ve been on hormonal birth control since my late teens. That being so, I’ve dealt for year with either the side effects of the pill or inconsistent periods and practical hurdles of the vaginal ring. Natural cycles being and FDA cleared, non-hormonal birth control option makes me feel that I’m making better decisions for my body as well as future reproductive health. In coming off of hormonal birth control I’ve experienced more consistent moods, cycles that vary minimally from month to month, more consistent sex drive and a feeling of overall evenness. Lastly, I’ve been an oura ring user for about a year now, so when I realized after signing up that my oura will synch data that it already collects every day, I was thrilled!! The all is sleek, sends you educational content timed with events in your cycle and is designed to partner with you all the way from pregnancy prevention, to conception and even menopause. Cheers to the creators and masterminds behind this app. Thank you for putting out a product that can revolutionize the way women my age use birth control, at a cost that’s extremely reasonable (~$100/year) and can be reimbursed by health insurance!

Love this!. I started using natural cycles in August of 2021 I had been searching for the right birth control for me and I just couldn’t bring myself to take a pill, insert anything or get shots. All the different options and side effects stressed me out. Thankfully I found natural cycles! I’ll be honest the first few weeks took a little bit of getting used to and remembering to take my temperature in the morning but after while I did much better! I got married in October and we have been using this ever since we are coming up and six months of using this method of birth control and it has been amazing! I highly recommend this! I also like the feature of having your partner synced up with you so they can see if it’s a red or green day without having to wonder. The only thing that I wish was different was the thermometer, I wish that right after you take your temperature it would sink to the app but you have to manually put it in the app and if you’re not focused on your thermometer you might miss it, especially if you are taking your temperature and then going back to bed. If you try to turn the thermometer back on to see the reading, it is there for a second and then it goes away. But other than thermometer I love this method of birth control!

Natural cycles vs lady comp. I used lady comp for several years, and really like natural cycles. They both have pros and cons: the information and tracking and ease of using the app makes natural cycles much easier to interact with and I love the little educational it’s bits. The only two downsides are the temp disappears really quickly after checking, so if you misread it, read it upside down, or try in the dark when you can’t see the temp- you miss the temp that day. After a few misreads and missed days, I became more mindful of when to read and to get it quickly.. Second downside you can buy ladycomp for one price and it’s good for 20 years whereas you pay a monthly subscription for natural cycles, but it is affordable. These are the only reasons I give it a 4 vs. 5. Longer temp storage would give it a 5, and a one time purchase would did the same! That aside, I love my natural cycles and have decided to overlook the monthly subscriptions in going back to ladycomp.

Love this app. Wish I had been tracking my cycle a lot early. Understanding where I am in my cycle not just for birth control purposes but also to understand my moods and appetite has been a game changer for me. Ever women with a cycle should be using this app.

A way forward. I have been using natural cycles for over a year now and I am so impressed. I absolutely love that it gives women the opportunity to have hormone free contraception. While this form of contraception does require time and effort from the user the app makes it’s a frictionless as possible. I absolutely love this app and it has changed my life for the better!!

Don’t 100% Trust. I think this is good to use as a guide more than anything. I definitely have noticed it give me wrong advice!!It seems to only take into account when you get your period and then guess that it’s gonna keep being the same time, i swear it didn’t even take into account my temperature this cycle. Make sure you take into account your discharge and i’m going to buy ovulation tests now as well… which might make the app more correct. DEFINITELY don’t trust this 100% because you’ll probably get pregnant. The thermometer is really great tho… Oh AND it took MONTHS for the thermometer to come, i honestly gave up on it ever coming. So that was a waste of money as i couldn’t even use the app that whole time! I ended up having to go back on the pill which i got off when i first bought the app!!!

Love love love. I have been using NC for the last three years and absolutely love it. Hormonal birth control is contraindicated for me so NC is a welcome alternative. Cannot fault the app’s functionality. My partner is completely supportive in preventing pregnancy during my fertile window. We will be using NC to help plan a pregnancy when the time is right. Sincerely, Very Grateful User

Great to have the information. Such an important app. I’ve learnt so much about my body and my cycle from using this app, and learnt more about cycles in general. I feel that my education prior to this was quite lacking. The measuring is slightly annoying, but doesn’t take long to get into a routine. It’s great not to be on hormones, but you need some patience at the start. I also find it help to track cravings, moods, acne - I use the notes for this. The only negative is the cost. Contraception should be affordable and accessible.

Very accurate & effective contraception. I’ve been using it for 3-4 years now ever since realised what the pill is actually doing to my body. I am extra precautions, so didn’t “trust” the green days until about 3 months of tracking my temperature. Ever since, I have trusted the green days, and never gotten pregnant! Yes, there is a level of commitment required so that you can give the app accurate temp data (ie. take within the same hour each day), but now that I’ve been doing it for years, and lucky to have a very regular cycle, I have had extended times where I haven’t tracked my temperature (ie. holidays) but can be assured that the app’s algorithm on my pasts data is accurate enough. The fact that they build in a buffer is also very reassuring ☺️ Love this app and highly recommend. (always trying to convince friends/friends of friends on why the algorithm is different to all those “free” temp apps out on the market 🤦🏻‍♀️😆)

Great app. If you’re on the pill you have to remember to take it and the same goes for measuring your temperature with Natural Cycles. Once you get into the rhythm, it becomes part of the morning routine. It does take a good few months before there are a good amount of green days but the more information you input the better it gets. I love having a natural alternative to contraception that I can rely on as being as accurate as the pill. While you do still need to be mindful over your red days, it’s a small price to pay for not having the side effects of synthetic hormones running through my body.

Life Changing App. After being on a combination of the pill and the mirena for the last 9 years of my life, and now being 100% natural, I have found this app to be incredibly helpful with understanding my body better and being educated on the menstrual cycle. Would definitely recommend this app!

No more hormonal meddling! :). As someone who is very sensitive to hormonal shifts, this app has freed me from very heavy side effects of hormonal contraception. No more anxiety, no more heavy mood swings, no more depression - all things I ONLY ever have experienced when on hormonal contraception. The NC algorithms have been spot on for me, and I really like the interactive and informative messages tailored to my cycle. The key is to 100% commit to following the instructions of NC without fail. Use a barrier method when indicated and enter as much data as you can... if you can’t or won’t do that, then you are more likely to run into trouble, as a few users have reported online. NC as a contraceptive is more suited to women who have some routine and can commit to interacting with the app. Natural Cycles can give women great insight into their own body and control over their own reproductive cycle and it’s actually really interesting! I really enjoy this app and the daily measurements are quick and now just habit :).

Love it in both Prevent and Plan modes. I’ve used this app in both ‘Prevent a pregnancy’ and ‘Plan a pregnancy’ modes and have had a great experience in both instances. No unintended pregnancy in 6 months of use and when my husband and I did decide to try for a baby, Natural Cycles helped us to fall pregnant quickly and put my mind at ease when at first we didn’t.

Great app, nice to have info on my body. Whilst measuring your temperature is a bit annoying, it's certainly nice to a) have information about my body and b) not be on any hormones any more. It took a little while to get green days but some perseverance will hopefully result in more green days as we go on! So much information on the website and they email back quickly if you have any questions. Would definitely recommend

Do it!! invest!! This app is awesome. Okay so this app is actually the bomb!! I paid for the yearly subscription and I’m sooo glad I did. I spent a lot of time researching every natural period tracking app and device and I choose natural cycles for so many reasons and I’m so glad I did. When my first thermometer got lost in the mail they instantly reposted another with a complementary pack of LH tests. Moving on in short this app looks great, is easy to use and presents your data in a way that makes me so fascinated and eager to learn all about my fertility/body and how I be of best service to my body. You won’t regret it!

Don’t Recommend. Unfortunately for me, this sounded better than it worked. Reviews were great, seems like the best way to track without using hormonal contraception. But it doesn’t work if you don’t get up at the same time every day/have interrupted sleep. The thermometer beeps 10 times (loudly). It would be nicer if it only beeped 3 times max? You also can’t read the screen unless you have a light on. Also find it annoying that every day is Red except for the days you have your period & would be nice to know you have to take a ovulation tests to make sure the temps are accurate. Think this app would be better if you could purchase a thermometer separately & had a trial period. It sounded like it would be great, signed up for a year without realising there is no refund if you decide to cancel early, waste of money.

Amazing Natural Contraception!. I made the decision to come off birth control in March 2021 due to suffering extreme pains and extremely heavy bleeding which would often send me to hospital. I had been on the pill since I was 13 (10 years) and would skip my period due to the fear I had developed. The mental side affects were also a big issue for me and I tried many variations, even the implant which made it worse. Along came Natural Cycles! I will never go back to any other contraceptive. This has changed my life and after one cycle using this method, my cycle returned and has been regular ever since! (Of course this may not happen as quick as it did for me as we are all unique) The app provides you green days for when you’re safe and red days for the days you need to be careful. It gives you insights about your cycle, handy tips and lots of information which has helped me so much! I am now using the app to plan my pregnancy so that natural cycles will continue to help me along my journey! I have learnt so much about myself and my body and urge anyone considering trying this to 100% sign up now - it will change your life for the better.

Recommend to patients. Absolutely love this app. It is SO empowering to have natural cycles and know exactly what your body is doing (and why!) Also great to be able to not use condoms (when in a safe, monogamist relationship). I have recommended this app to many friends (and even encourage patients to discuss with their GPs.) I am a women’s health physiotherapist.

I love Natural Cycles!. After many years of not feeling myself due to contraceptions that contain hormones and never really finding one that works well for me, natural cycles is by far my favourite! I use it strictly to ensure best results and love the data it gives me too! I also love learning about my cycle and feeling more in control of knowing what is happening with my body day by day in my cycle.

Please Read this Review. I would be cautious about using this app. If you are someone with a really strict routine this app could work well for you. The way the app works is that it doesn’t count your temp measure if there is some reason it could be varied; so if you sleep more or too little, you have had alcohol etc. This meant that there were a lot of days my temp didn’t count towards the algorithm for me. However as I work five (5)days per week and get up to go to the gym early those days too measuring my temperature on the weekend is useless. All long weekends and vacations were out as well. The app only predicted once when my period would start. I was trying to get pregnant and I am not. This app also made the baby making very unappealing to my partner and me as it was very regimented l and unsexy. I would go as far as to say it has been detrimental and depressing. For those trying to get pregnant this app can be added anxiety. And for those trying to prevent a pregnancy life changing. Additionally the thermometer I was sent took a month to arrive so I was already one (1) month into my subscription before I could do anything and it malfunctions a lot making it impossible for me to use the snooze function on it. It also beeps randomly.

Hate it. Useless at predicting my ovulation- used it for 5 months and it never got it right. Ended up going to a fertility specialist and used scans to accurately predict. The app was off by up to a week, despite carefully following the instructions and using the thermometer. When I did fall pregnant, the app thought that my increased temp meant I had ovulated two weeks after conception, and has now logged the conception date three weeks off- so all the pregnancy tracking data is way off. No way to edit this date. What a waste of money.

Pretty accurate!. I have been doing natural cycles for over a year now and I still can’t believe how accurate it is. I was comparing it to a free app, and natural cycles was always right compared to the other one. Measuring body temp is definitely annoying especially when you have some mornings when the dog or something is barking at you. But it makes it so much more accurate. Definitely recommend it to friends who are trying.

Figured out ovulation & Luteal phase. I’m using NC to conceive, i have the annual subscription. I was previously using Flo, and it just didn’t seem to be getting my ovulation right.I found Flo useful for general tracking of period, but as soon as i switched to track ovulation, days didn’t line up to what i felt. My cycle varies from 27-32 days, so predicting ovulation was hard. Why this app works for me: - Using NC, I accurately tested for ovulation in the first month using temp and only two OPK sticks. - The charting actually distracts me from the wait till my period arrives, as i feel pro active. - I like the science behind it, and learning how long my luteal phase is was also interesting. - it’s also good that you can predict period, so there is less confusion over the awkward few days before where you think you may be pregnant but actually not. - it’s simplified, other apps i got bogged down in tracking all these extra symptoms and that made me over analyse everything. Now i just look at facts... Highly recommend this app if you’re anything like me. Impatient, and into evidence based info.

My favorite app. This app empowers me! I feel confident using it and knowing my body better than I have in 32 years! I didn’t want to take synthetic hormones anymore [the pill], so I started looking for alternatives. I don’t ever want kids, neither does my husband, so it feels good to know when I’m fertile and when we should abstain or use condoms. This is literally the best app on the planet. I wish every girl/woman would use it!

Over 5 years of NC love. I’ve been using Natural Cycles for coming up 6 years now. It helped me in the lead up to my pregnancy and for the adjustment to my new cycle post-partum. I now use the App with my Oura ring (which is extremely helpful in accurate temperature readings due to waking multiple times in the night with my baby!!). I recommend it very regularly to friends, clients and patients and believe it to be an incredibly useful tool for anyone wanting to feel more in tune, in control and in alignment with their cycle. Thanks for helping me better understand my natural rhythm, and how I can use it to my advantage, Natural Cycles 😍

Fantastic for trying to start a family. I found this app incredibly helping and easy for starting to period track which I have never done before. Very user friendly and informative. I love spending every morning with my app and learning more about my body!

Incredibly helpful. Natural Cycles has fostered an awareness and interest in my own body and helped me understand how my hormones naturally affect me. Having been on the pill for 20 years and it slowly disagreeing with me, I found natural cycles an incredibly useful tool in coming off the pill for good. When the time came to switch from contraception to conception mode, the data I had already been entering every day for the previous year made it immediately enormously accurate in its assistance in conceiving both of our children. Hot tip for mums who don’t get a full night sleep often enough to have a proper basal temperature reading in the morning: pair the NC° app with the Oura ring and it takes your average temp all night.

Trustworthy. I’ve been using the app for over three and half years now once I decided to take control of my health and stop using hormones to control my erratic cycle. I don’t even remember how I found out about it, but I loved the story behind how it came about and that it was backed by science. I initially struggled with the app results because I had a highly irregular cycle (from my teen years til into my mid thirties) which generally gave me minimal green days, which was frustrating. However, I changed my lifestyle (my diet) two years ago which lead to my cycle normalising, and now I regularly see 70% green days per cycle. I’ve considered going back to other simpler apps, but there is something comforting about natural cycles, which has only improved again and again over the years with the additions to the app. Would love to see them create a widget in future that allows us to enter the temp without opening the entire app, and the option to change the background colour on the main info page. The ‘month’ tab can also be a little daunting to absorb as its a lot of colour coding in one go, would be nice to see a more traditional style calendar layout with smaller colours used. But I do genuinely love the messages and reminders that turn up in the app, the cycle summary I get every month and just hire simple the entire process is. I highly recommend this to anyone who is ready to start listening to their body and take control of their health.

Do NOT use for contraception. I fell accidentally pregnant with this app twice - the second time with very careful use. Both times the app did not suggest that I might want to take a pregnancy test, despite I’m sure knowing from my temperature readings that this was very likely a good idea. I was also unable to clearly log the app failure once I’d discovered for myself that I was in fact pregnant. Instead I had to change my settings to ‘trying to get pregnant’ to record my pregnancy - this suggests to me that NaturalCycles is deliberately not collecting data on app contraception failures outside their own controlled research studies.

Best contraception we’ve found. My husband and I have been successfully using Natural Cycles for two years now. We avoided a pregnancy during those years we wanted to and when we decided we would like to try for a baby we switched over to trying to conceive mode and it made it so easy to know exactly when to try. We are now pregnant and due in October. The app is so easy to use and has great daily reminders and hints. It’s absolutely amazing to have this natural contraceptive option after trying different avenues over the last few years that just didn’t work for us. So so happy we tried it! We recommend to all our friends.

Beat contraception I have ever used. I absolutely love Natural Cycles. After years and years of always struggling with side effects from the pill and trying so many other contraception methods I have finally found the right method for me. I only wish I had always been able to use this. The app itself is very simple to use, is reliable and does all the calculations of your potentially fertile and infertile days itself so you can have confidence in temperature tracking. It took a while for the app to get to know me and my body so you do have to be patient but it is so worth it in the end. I have never felt better than I do now being off hormonal contraception and I would recommend this app to anyone!

Excellent for many uses.. I have been using it for two months with the thermometer. Honestly was skeptical, and no I am not pregnant yet, but I feel in control of my period for once in my life. Been on the pill, had the implant and IUD, and never known my cycle or patterns for what they really are. Slowly being able to track where I’m at and add in my own notes for acne, moods etc and be able to understand what could be hormone triggered rather than poor mental health related is reaffirming. I’m using this mostly to understand when I’m ovulating, but I actually think it’s value is so much more than that. I doubt I would ever use this method solely as a contraceptive but knowing what my body is doing and when is really liberating. The quizzes are eh. But it’s easy to use, and easy to get in the habit.

Great to know your body this well. Five stars isn’t enough for this stellar product. As a 47 year old, I wish this was around earlier. As a fertility and relationship specialist, I am recommending this product to my clients. Whether for conception or contraception, this process allows a woman to know herself intimately, make choices without harsh hormone therapy. Easy to use, I enjoy seeing my Green Day’s. And so much easier than charting manually.

Brilliant App. Highly Recommend 😊 This app is my saviour 🙏🏼 The difference I feel within my body after stopping the contraceptive pill is mind blowing. Without Natural Cycles I would never have had the confidence to stop taking the pill and explore natural contraception. I will never take synthetic hormones again. Thank You Natural Cycles

Worth every penny. I started using about 4 months ago because I no longer wanted to be on hormonal birth control. This app has been amazing, allowing me to be more in tune with my body and understanding it. I've learnt so much. I was skeptical at first and spent a lot of time researching this method before I took the plunge but I haven't regretted it since. I'm a happier and healthier person for it.

Awesome alternative. I'm so glad I discovered Natural Cycles, it gave me the confidence to come off implanon and tune into my body's natural rhythm. It's the best alternative to artificial contraception and it's so amazing to be tracking my bodily changes day to day. Love the regular messages that are informative and encouraging. Excited to get to a point where my cycle is regular and that wouldn't be possible without this app!

Happy Chappy. I started Natural Cycles a year ago and couldn’t be happier. It exceeded all expectations. Initially I was doubtful as to the accuracy of the method but it’s given me newfound confidence and helped me understand my body like I never had before. It’s taken me until 27 years of age to realise you only ovulate once per cycle. Here’s me thinking you could get pregnant any time throughout your cycle!!! I was on the pill on and off for 6 years and was miserable on it. I gained weight, mood swings were rampant and just wasn’t my usual self. My boyfriend and I agreed that we wanted me to stop taking the pill so my body could get back to it’s natural state. I shed all that water weight instantly, periods are regular and now with the natural cycles app I’m in control of my cycle. The ovulation tests are a great part of the kit also. Knowledge is power!

Love it!. Natural Cycles is a great, efficient and a powerful app that gives women the opportunity to prevent pregnancy without taking hormones or adding foreign objects in our bodies. Easy and fun to use, I love that I know so much more about my body since using it and I feel so much better having my natural cycle back! Yes, yes, yes!!

AMAZING hormone-free birth control!. So happy to be offered a modern, natural alternative to contraception that doesn’t involve pumping my body with hormones! I found taking my temp every morning the moment I wake up did take a little getting used to, however since it’s now a part of my daily routine I find the entire process super easy - the app is extremely informative and incredibly accurate for me! Predicts my cycle like clockwork after just 4 months of use and is the most amazing option I’ve had with minimal affect on my body/mood etc (after 15 years on different forms inc Pills, IUD). Thanks very much to Natural Cycles!!

Loving it!. After the hormone hell I experienced with implanon I am so thankful this app exists! It took me a bit of time to get into the habit of taking my temperate every morning but the app is there to remind and guide you every step of the way. It gives helpful information about what you’re doing and why. I’ve been cycling for 4 months now and I would definitely recommend the app.

Contraception of the future!. I have tried every contraception, all different kinds of the pill as well as implanon, mirena, nuva ring... everything but the injection. Hormonal contraception turns me into a different person, it affects my moods so badly and I feel after being on the pill for so many years and changing so often that I had just decided I was a moody person when in reality it was probably what I was putting into my body. I’m loving the natural cycles app, I think every female should have this to help learn how their own body works! I’m never going back to hormonal contraceptives. I’ve been waiting for something like this forever. This is the contraceptive of the future BUT just like everything, I think you need to read up on how it works and whether or not it works for you and your lifestyle. I do think you need to be mature enough to be prepared if it fails, in a healthy long term relationship and need to be open and discuss how it works with your partner. Works great for me and I love it!!

Working for me. Natural Cycles has given me so much insight into my body. I really understand my cycle now. Finding it very simple to use. Getting into the habit of temp taking every morning gelled pretty quickly. It really is possible to manage contraception naturally without the need for synthetic hormones being pumped into my body. My gut health is better, my skin is better, my PMS is better. I’m sure it’s all because I’m not unbalancing my body with fake stuff anymore. So happy I found Natural Cycled as an alternative.

Great natural contraceptive. I’ve been using for 1.5 years (had to stop for a few months) and it’s getting better and better to know my body well. It’s a bit annoying at first to get into the routine and for the amount of red days, but definitely worth it to persist. So much better than adding hormones into my body.

Depending on your situation. I’ve used Natural cycles both to prevent and to plan a pregnancy- both successfully. No birth control is 100% effective but this has been a great solution for me. The app is easy to use and understand and after 15 years on the pill I’m happy to go with a hormone free option.

Know your body. I signed up to natural cycle to get to know my body more. I’m not with a long term partner so I’m not comfortable going without a barrier method but look forward to when mr. right does come along to use nature cycles as it’s intended. For now it’s great getting to know my body and be in tune with my monthly cycle. Ps. I’m slightly addicted to watching the graph go up and down :)

Don’t trust them. I was all smiles and extremely excited about using a natural app to prevent a pregnancy! I was diligent and cautious however this algorithm didn’t work for me and the team at natural cycles were extremely rude and unhelpful. You’d think the least they could do would be to refund your subscription costs! So just a word of warning to other women out there Please know what your in for and be at a place in life where you can accept the consequences of the app not working

Such a fantastic alternative that is natural and effective!. I love that I don’t need to change anything about my body, she follows her natural rhythm and I work with it to manage my fertility. I’ve been using the app for almost a year and know more about my cycle than ever before, and I feel so safe and empowered using it. No hormones, no side effects. The best!!

App is fine butbe careful of renewal or cancelling. The app is okay I personally didn’t find it helpful. Also this is one of those that is a little sneaky in the cancelation and renewal section I feel. Needing to go through the website and feels over complicated. Also didn’t receive notification that payment was coming up.

Highly recommend. Loving Natural Cycles! I’ve learnt so much about my own unique cycle and about my body. The handy little messages of information help guide you through what your body is up to and the app makes it so easy to understand. Very useful, and very happy with this method rather than the pill or other contraceptions

Best app ever. If you're sick of the pill and other contraceptives, don't think twice, just get this app! After experiencing so many side affects from different types of contraceptives this app is such a relief. You have to do the work (which isn't much and is actually fun) but it is so rewarding to be able to know my own body. Will never go back from this app!!

Vital knowledge about your body. I love this app. I have been using it now for almost a year. I think it's great to have an app that empowers you to learn more about your cycle, your body, and factors influencing/impacting these. Previously I had been on the pill for many years and wasn't aware of the side effects until I stopped! Would highly recommend

Fell pregnant. I fell pregnant using the pregnancy prevention mode. No refund even though the app clearly didn’t deliver on what I paid for. Terrible feedback when I contacted staff. I decided to keep the baby and the ‘preggo cycler’ mode is awful. So buggy and a total waste of the cost of the app - you can google for better and more detailed week by week information. I feel like you should at least get a partial refund for the months you’re clearly not using the app for what you paid for (pregnancy prevention)

Amazing, worth the money 100%. This WORKS! Have been using it for a year and I am not up the duff! Love having a natural method of contraception that is just as effective as the pill. The hormones were killing my body. I felt sick constantly. It’s so great to know that I am fully natural but still being careful!! If you are hesitant, just do it. This is your sign. I feel so much better with my mind at ease but still eu natural!

Waste of Time and Money. So many problems with this system, none of which are tech glitches. 1: The free trial starts when you pay for their thermometer to ship, but it takes 2-3 weeks to reach you. 2: Despite entering all other symptoms without fail, it still says I am on a red day every single cycle day and even once I’m entering temperatures. 3: Said it would upload my previous cycle calendars from Garmin and all permissions were given then it never synced. Finally it’s telling me I am in the follicular phase when I haven’t started my new cycle yet. 4 years of tracking fertility on my own was way more reliable and way cheaper than this.

I’ve used this app for years. And I love it. The first couple of years I used at as a means of preventing pregnancy. And Ive never had any problems. But I was also been diligent and followed all the recommendations accordingly. Then I used it to plan my pregnancy with the help of ovulation sticks and it worked great aswell. I love that I don’t need to mess with any hormones. That it’s just as simple as taking your temperature first thing in the morning everyday

Not for planning a pregnancy, poor customer service. I used Natural Cycles to prevent and plan a pregnancy. I enjoyed the prevention mode and it worked for me. The planning your pregnancy mode was useless, not helpful at all. Also, the customer service is not prepared to take any questions related to situations and treatments related to the planning a pregnancy scenario. The only information they can give you is that if anything messes with your your temperature then it will impact the app ability to predict your cycle. They dismiss themselves of giving science-based information since they are a customer service not healthcare professionals. My disappointment is that, when they are selling the app, they proud themselves for being science-based; the story changes when you need information and they don’t hold themselves accountable for selling a healthcare product.

Pregnant with twins three months in. I used the app as directed. Took my temperature, no intimacy on red days…pregnant before my 4th cycle. They wouldn’t even give me a refund as they said “even with perfect use 2 out of every 100 users will get pregnant”. So I’m just a fluke? Don’t think so. Found out later three more of my friends using NC also got pregnant. I DO NOT recommend this app if you really don’t want to get pregnant.

Love this app. Been using this app for years. It’s the best! I love the educational resources as well. Every woman with a period should be tracking!! It is so important

You can become a 5 Star App if. the country I live in, Canada, gets this app approved for birth control!

Losing interest. I’ve been using this app for 6 months now. According to the app, I haven’t ovulated since May! Natural Cycles doesn’t “take into account” cervical mucus, so even though my body has had all the signs of ovulation, because “their” thermometer didn’t register a temperature jump, according to them I haven’t been ovulating. (I keep being told my temperature is “erratic” even though my measuring times usually differ only by an hour or two). This app is starting to appear unreliable. Being trained to disregard my own body in favour of their thermometer is hardly “natural”.

Good app, thermometer provided could be better. So far I like the app. Although the thermometer provided could be better as the screen on the thermometer doesn’t light up so I have to make sure I put a light on it to ensure I am reading it accurately or else I can’t see it. I also use the memory option every morning as I like to press snooze. But when you turn it on it shows the memory for maybe 2 seconds before it disappears so I have to make sure I’m paying attention and catch it quick before it disappears.

I’m so grateful for this app. I’m also really happy it is a woman leading the company. For too long men have been in control of women's’ bodies.

Good but expensive. I like it but it’s sooo expensive Ahhh there is a huge barrier for so many people to be able t access this form of birth control :(

Non hormonal natural BC. Absolutely love using this ever since I quit birth control. A great way to also be in tune with your body. The only con is having to be diligent and measure as soon as you wake up. They should like the temperature reading to the Apple Watch somehow. Anyways love it and recommend to all my girlfriends.

Extremely slow and glitchy app. Great premise.. The app is a great idea, however it is insanely slow. I see many others complaining about this. The developers need to fix this issue.

Too slow. I’m another one who is experiencing the app being super slow. Love it otherwise, but I don’t know how worth it it is if you guys can’t update or fix this...

Great Non-Hormonal BC. Works if you work with it! I love how this app takes all of the guesswork out of it for you and over time as it gets to know your body you’ll experience more and more green days. Checking in with the app has become a form of self-care I can do for just a few minutes everyday.

Better Apple Health integration. I really like the app. The predictions are reliable and it is easy to use. However, it needs to integrate with Apple Health automatically like most other health apps. It's a pain to always have to go into the settings to force syncing.

Useful tool.. I like the app. I can fallow my cycle easily. I appreciate the app for many reason but I have some concern though. Good points: - The learning curve is well done, Natural cycle give good advice that help using the app. - There is many texts about female body. - All kind of sexual activity is considered as such. There is a separation between possibly reproductive sex and sexuality. - There is a symptom diary that can help track symptoms for other conditions in the same time. Bad points: - There is one thermometer official that is not adapt for blind people, people who lack visual coordination, dyslexic and others. - It is not possible to allow or partenaire to see some data (as we choose) such as ovulation and period. I want my partner to have all the mental load of grocery including knowing when buy condom and tampon without asking me. That why I thought to a partner side of the app. When I told then about that, they told me it is dangerous to share data. That anwser confused me because 1) I share data with them, 2) all the point of the app is to share information with our partner to chose when use condom or do unpenetrative sex. So, it’s really not the good app if you want share reproductive burdens with your partner. Hope this comment help you take decisions 🙂

Loving it!. Excellent app. Worth every penny and then some. Thank you for creating this valuable tool!

Reliable science!. This app is great for making it easy to add the science to its tracking system. While that part is more reliable than other apps out there, my request would be to add in tips for the phase I’m in - like which foods are best, which workouts are best for my energy levels, or insights into level of focus. Tying this all together in one app would be very convenient.

Very nice app!. Love this, I use it with my oura ring. The only drawback is that I need both subscription which is quite expensive.

Unimpressed!! WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!. I have been using two different period/ovulation apps to see which one was better. And my other app has way more accurate information. Not to mention it auto charged me $90…. i did receive any email stating that my free trial was ending. It also ended 3 days sooner then i started my trial !! After going thru my junk mail, i have found the email.. what kind of company doesn’t get that figured out first !! I will never be using this app again. I cannot afford a $90 app…

Unplanned pregnancy from this app. Subject line says it all. I did enjoy tracking my period using the app and getting to know my cycle, however I did get pregnant, so I’m of course not pleased. The ovulation predictor must have been incorrect…. Beware! Worst part? My subscription renewed the week I found out I’m pregnant and charged me for the entire year. There should be some kind of refund if this happens. Even for part of the year, as I clearly don’t need the app anymore. Very disappointed.

Love it. I’m almost 1 month in and really love it so far. Was on hormonal birth control for 4 years and I can’t believe how much better I feel being off.

Love it. Turning 28 and I refuse to take any form of birth control that alters my body in any way. I tried a pill at 17 and it honestly made me crazy, parents had to physically take them away from me because of the extreme effects ( I thought it was them lol) I’ve been scared every since of pills, and I’ve heard horror stories with all other artificial methods through friends. This form of birth control is the only way I’ll go, plus it helps me understand my overall cycle which I think is a great insight to have. Temp is right by my bed and it saves the last temp you take so you can add it in whenever. The cons of artificial birth control outway the potential con in this method for me and it’s way better then nothing at all.

This needed to exist !. I couldn't be happier that there's finally a new way to handle contraception without hormones ! My only problems with the app are the following: 1) It's retaining its information to you to give it only when you receive messages: i wish I knew more in details how to upgrade my cycler level. 2) it's very challenging to not have 2h difference in my sleep time every night, and then the app says "you should add more data"... it's not like I'm forgetting to add data, it's just that i can't give more. It said on the website that 5 days a week is enough data, but apparently 4 isn't anymore :(

Healthy Natural Birth Control. If you’ve been one of those women who was put on the pill or using some type of b/c other then a condom. You probably had very little knowledge just like myself about sex/hormones and your own body, then years after things are off with the body so you decided to stop. Well natural cycles has helped myself with learning so much about it all and happy I found them. It’s so easy to take your temperature first thing in the morning (while still in bed), input the reading into the app and boom red or green day! They explain done to the very little details, can input more then just sexual things but being more in tune with yourself/body by reporting your skin, any PMS symptoms, your mood. They have article's that you can always look back at and new information always populating, they give you notifications depending on what the temperature reading is and also help you with you temperature readings on how to. A new perk they came out with this year is so your partner can also see if your wanting to do so. The oura ring is another sweet perk that I personally don’t have or used but have heard about many other people using it and it seems great. It reads your temperature for you and directly connects to the natural cycles app, definitely will be trying one day to give more honest of a review. Natural cycles has also recently came out with new thermometers from the original version but is only available in select states/locations currently. So if your a Canadian girly you’ll have to wait.

Just what I needed. This app is everything I was looking for in a natural birth control. It helped me to come off the pill seamlessly and without any problems. It allows me to have so much insight into my cycle and body and I would recommend it to everyone to try. A great way to be in tune with yourself and learn more along the way!

Changed my life. Hormonal birth control was ruining my life - it contributed to A LOT of weight gain, depression and a bunch of other side effects I didn’t realize where caused by that until I ditched it. I don’t even know why I stopped taking it to be honest - but one day I just did. I didn’t want that stuff in my body anymore, and I gave Natural Cycles a try and the positive changes I saw in myself after going of the prescribed birth control was literally life changing. I’ll never use another form of birth control again.

Great app. I struggled to use the app at the start and was not certain if my temperatures were right so I was not consistent. I have now been consistent for a couple months and I really like the app. It helps narrow down ovulation and also sends you reminders on PMS, ovulation day and others. It has helped me understand my cycle and body. I’m happy with it.

Amazing app!. This has been such a game changer for me. I got my IUD removed and really wanted a natural method of protection and this has been great. Super easy to use and has worked flawlessly!

if i could put more stars, i would!. this app is absolutely life changing. i’ve been off birth control since starting it and have noticed such a positive change in my overall mental health. thank you for teaching me everything i should know about my cycle and being a woman that i was never taught!

Life changing. I have been on hormonal birth control (IUD/pills) for 10 years. I felt like I didn’t know how my brain was without birth control or artificial hormones pumping through it. A friend told me about NC when I had my IUD taken out. NC is life changing. My mind feels so clear. I feel so empowered and in tune with my cycle. I know what each day and temp fluctuation means for my body. My husband is so supportive and involved too- which I feel former birth control is too foreign/ complex for this. NC is so easy- take temp daily, the more you consistently input the data- the more unprotected safe sex days there are. He can see when my period is, hormone fluctuations, reminds me to take my temp, pack the thermometer. I love this app. Thank you!

Silly. The silliest part of this app is that your subscription starts before you receive your thermometer. Just an extreme lack of common sense. Essentially pointless up to that point.

This app is amazing!. I’ve been using the app for more than a year and it’s amazing how is bringing me closer to understand my body and all the changes that occurs during my cycle. The best app to track your period because it’s super accurate.

Highly recommend. Some suggestions below. I have used this app for over a year now to prevent pregnancy and have recently started using it to plan a pregnancy. It has been the most eye opening, educational, and empowering app and piece of technology I have introduced into my life. I was on the Pill for a decade to manage all kinds of symptoms and when I went off it was chaos. I managed to get pregnant but postpartum was really difficult including getting cystic acne all over again. I didnt want to go back onto the pill so I tried the Mirena IUD and got rid of it after a few months. I had started working with a naturopath by this point to sort out my hormonal issues and she suggested various FAM options. I gave this one a go and haven’t looked back — I recommend it to all of my friends. Contrary to popular thinking, there IS science behind this approach, it’s not just a “pull out and pray” situation, and once you understand your body and your fertility, it’s such an empowering thing as a woman. You get in tune with yourself like you have never before and you feel confident and educated in your choices throughout the month. No scares at all for me. To the app developers, some feedback: I have used NC for a year now as birth control and have recently switched over to the plan pregnancy option. I’m puzzled by the fact that your symptoms options are the same/do not account for pregnancy symptoms, such as nausea, hot flashes, and other possible pregnancy related symptoms need to be put in as “other” or in the notes which doesn’t allow me to quickly keep track of trends in these symptoms. Please update the app to beef up the plan pregnancy side of the app. Also, why are my green and red days the same whether I’m planning a pregnancy or avoiding it? It’s so counter intuitive to sign in every day and see a green day telling me I’m not fertile but then faded red when I’m supposed to try and get pregnant? It’s almost subconsciously telling me to avoid getting pregnant. When you switch from avoid to plan pregnancy in the app, the red and green days should switch too so that you can see how short of a fertile window you actually have and that “green means go!” not stop! Lol Lastly, I’ve already submitted this feedback but no one got back to me: I’d like the option to share more of my symptoms including libido levels with my partner who has the NC partner app. Right now he doesn’t see much of anything really and it seems like this is something I should be able to control. Thanks!!

Amazing. Fantastic app! I gave up hormonal birth control after using it for 15 years... it's been life changing getting my hormones balanced - pms symptoms have decreased tremendously! I finally have my life back all while still feeling protected with BC.

Best birth control. I have been on hormonal birth control for over 15 years. For the last 7 years or so I’ve had a hormonal IUD. I always struggled with long periods (10-16 days long) and extreme pain, fatigue etc. my doctors all told me it was normal for me. Since having my hormonal IUD removed and I started using natural cycles, my periods average 4 days and I only experience light cramping for usually 1 of those days. Periods aside, it’s an excellent tool to prevent pregnancy - my husband and I have had no issues or complaints! I recommend natural cycles for every woman!!!!

Amazing!. I’m learning so much about my cycle and my health in general, there’s useful information that I’ve never learned before. This app is helping me to live according to my body, and it feels great!

Best decision I’ve ever made. I know it’s a bit pricy for some people but the date and the insights you get about your body are worth it. I have learned so much about myself and I enjoy reading and learning more every month. The green and red days are also helpful if you are trying to get pregnant or trying not to.

So far so good!. So impressed with this app so far and I love it as an alternative to hormonal birth control. It brings me closer to my body and learn more about it which I love!!! Using it to prevent pregnancy right now ans it’s so cool that it can predict my period. Very happy with it so far!

Feeling myself again. Very happy to have this app to guide through the tricky waters of wanting to be off birth control! Highly recommend for those looking.

Langues. Une version française serait génial

Watch out for automatic renewal. The app is alright. Good for tracking. Be very diligent with entering your temperature. I was not going to renew my subscription just because I cannot remember to do my temperature every morning making the app useless for me. When it auto renews I was shocked and they do not issue any returns and I'm finding it near impossible to cancel the auto renewal. Didn't even send an email saying my renewal was coming up.

Slow delivery, I got pregnant before. It took so long for the thermometer to arrive the delivery service that they used is so cheap that don’t tell you when you will get it. Actually I got pregnant before that. I hate the renewal programs that makes so difficult to cancel

Truly revolutionary. Used it for 5 years to protect, and then used it to get pregnant very quickly. Amazing tool if you have a regular cycle and schedule. Grateful for this alternative and hopeful that Health Canada will approve it as contraceptive one day so it can be covered by insurance.

Amazing App. Easy to use! Great educational material — always learning more which I love!

Great app for tracking your cycle. I ditched birth control (after 10 years) and switched to this app. It takes a month or two and can a little bit pricey when buying the LH tests etc at the beginning but it was worth it. I’ve never learnt so much about my menstrual cycle and it’s easy to use. I know exactly which days I can get pregnant and when I can’t . Great app!!!

Amazing. This is the future. I love everything about NC, and it has made me a better woman. Cheers to educating ourselves on our bodies❤️

Helps a lot. Good app. Helps you to not get pregnant or to get pregnant. And to know more about your cycle. Many good articles to read about your cycle. Nice costumer service, they even give you personal advice when algorithms detect when you don’t take your temperature correctly.

Giving women control. I love the fact that the founders were able to provide women a non hormonal birth control that’s effective and easy to use. It’s really helped me take control of my cycle and the way I handle birth control.

So far loving it. I was skeptical at first and it took me time to get use to the thermometer. I am a huge snoozer and often wake before my alarm or well before so there are days I have to skip recording. However haven’t had any issues yet really. I will say, there can be some improvements made on the thermometer. I don’t like how to save a temp, you have to stop it immediately after the 1st beep. It almost startles you so early in the morning to have to react that quickly. I’m too tired to record right then. Also, when you are awake enough to check and turn it on, it only flashes for a 2nd before disappearing for good...there were a couple days I didn’t catch it on time and had to skip. Such a bummer. If they can improve the thermometer, I am willing to change my review

UX needs to improve. As someone who is using this app to prevent pregnancy not to plan it, it needs some improvements. For starters, taking your temperature first thing in the morning needs to be a discreet, silent task that won’t wake your partner (and yourself). The thermometers beeping is grueling, the screen is not lit so you have to turn the lights on to see the temperature and then enter it manually in the app. Early in the morning this is crazy. The thermometer could vibrate or have a choice just for light vs beeping and the temperature should automatically be synched and captured in the app. It would also be wonderful if the thermometer wouldn’t look like a normal one-its not the sexiest thing to have on your nightstand. The interface could also improve, with other apps being much more intuitive and visual. Until these improvements have been made I feel you have to have a level of determination for family planning that isn’t average.

Loving this!. I started NC at the end of my last period so it’s been about a month. I went off my hormonal birth control and went straight to natural cycles. I didn’t assume I would ovulate right away, or that my app would pick up that I did, but not only did NC confirm my ovulation but they also predicted my first period to within a day! It feels good to finally be getting those green days—and I didn’t even have to wait long! I will say I do not wake at the same time every day. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night at like 3 or 4 am and I take my temp incase I don’t get a solid 3 hour stretch of sleep before my alarm goes off at 7. I’ve found this to work for me so far, and I hope as I go on my sleep will be a little more regular. Don’t let irregular sleep patterns stop you from giving this a try! Be consistent with your measuring! It WILL pay off.

Great Option for Natural BC. Great app & I really appreciate the added support of an algorithm to help predict my fertility. I love the added informational content- written professionally & with a good tone. I have some suggestions I’d love to see for the app overall. 1. UX on Month View: I have a hard time locating & reading the grey droplets and ovulation egg graphics on the month view. They just disappear in the background whether the circle is filled or not. Maybe more contrast would help? I tried to overlook it but month after month, I still find myself wishing it were easier to read. 2. Bar graph view: I cannot understand what’s happening here, lol. What is this supposed to be telling us? The line graph is easy enough to understand but the bar graph is a little confusing. Maybe some addition (i) info ticklers that pop up to explain?

This is the best!. I have loved using this app. My husband and I were both a little skeptical about it at first but wanted me off of hormonal birth control. Within the first couple months of using it my husband noticed a positive difference in my mood swings, I noticed a positive difference in my mindset. Now 5 months in and I am WAY more in sync with my cycle, feel so much more in control of my emotions, and have the luxury of knowing when certain things are about to start of finish in my cycle. The APP it’s self has a great design, is easy to use and follow, and works perfectly every time I open it. It has great reminders, and sends you updates about your cycle when changes are about to happen, or reminds you to measure more if needed. So happy we chose to try this and absolutely will be continuing using it for years to come!

Beware customer service. The app is fine, customer service is not. They are extremely arrogant and will actually invade your personal boundaries by going into your app and manipulate your data if *they* think you’re inputting your info wrong. They won’t ask you permission, nope, they just go ahead and change it. They arrogantly imply you’re incompetent and presumptively assume you’re measuring wrong. Because apparently all women everywhere are supposed to have the exact same temperature all the time. Because everyone’s the same right! We’re all twins! (Sarcasm). I am appalled at the customer service for this app. What’s the point of entering data if you’re just doing to change it anyway and presume I’m wrong??? At least effing ask first at the very least if you can change it! If I get pregnant due to my own error, that’s on me. But if I get pregnant due to their arrogance, then that’s on them! I have never experience such an invasion of privacy. And for that reason this app gets 2 stars. Disgusting.

Adding more detailed options. I just got this app and so far love it. I think the educational components are fantastic. Two things I would add would be have 1. Add “normal” as a skin option. This would be what is “normal” to the user and then if it changes we have something to base the change off of. My skin is neither oily, dry, or glowing regularly. But I agree I get those skin types sometimes. 2. Please please add the word “bloated” as one of the words under the Pain section. This is such a huge thing in the world of periods. And one of the first things I notice before I start my period. I’m assume the word “ovulation pain” maybe what you are using instead of that term? Not sure. I have been because bloating is a big symptom of mine. Love the app and think it’s very empowering for women!

Easy, Natural, Empowering. This app has changed my life. I have tried the pill and iuds with a plethora of negative side effects. A few years ago, I decided enough was enough. NC taught me that I did not have to be in pain to prevent pregnancy. It has helped me to understand my body and to take my fertility into my own hands. I honestly wish that fertility education was part of sex education for all young people. Learning when I am fertile and when I am not has been so empowering for me. I no longer view pregnancy as an inevitable threat, but as something that I can have a choice in creating. I’ve been using a combination of NC and condoms for almost three years now, and I have had no mishaps. The only drawback is getting in the habit of taking your temperature every morning.

Love this app! Although I have unique side effect. Omg, I love being able to accurately track my fertility without using Birth Control pills or implants! I hated all of the hormones. I feel so empowered and in control now that I know when my cycle is going to come. It’s amazing! I need to give it more time to see how well it works in terms of preventing pregnancy but those are my initial thoughts. I thought this would the one form of birth control that didn’t have any side effects. But alas it does! Every single night I dream about taking my temperature and then I wake up in the middle of the night scared that I missed the opportunity to take my temperature. 😫😂 it’s pretty funny. that’s the only thing I would say for me but Im sure my body will stop obsessing over that and will adjust soon.

So much more than an app. I always wanted to go hormone-free, but the available options out there didn’t suit me. Copper in my body was not option, just using condom or withdrawal felt like giving up and i never trusted the accuracy of period/fertility apps. When i read that the FDA approved Natural Cycles for birth control and the effectiveness rates were higher than other non-hormonal options, I decided to go for it. More than 6 months into it, i must say that this app is so much more than just birth control. You get to know yourself to a whole new level - so powerful. I love how energetic i feel around ovulation. Note that you need to be ok with using condoms in the beginning until the app gets you, but after that i get a decent amount of green days. You also need to measure your temp every morning, i can see how this is not for everyone, but it’s a game changer for me!

Poor Interface (and thermometer is a hassle!). I had high hopes for this app, but unfortunately I really dislike it. The concept is great, but I hate the user interface. Everything on the screen just seems so busy and crowded and I don’t feel like the flow of the app is intuitive and clear. Also, can they not make it so there is a thermometer that automatically uploads your temperature to the app each use? Given that you’re supposed to take your temperature right away in the morning, ideally when you’re half asleep, I never upload it right away. But if you are uploading your temperature later, the thermometer will show you the previous reading but only one time for like 3 seconds. So you have to enter it quickly, and if you remember to take your temperature but forget to enter it in before the next morning, then you lose that info. It’s all just a hassle. I love the idea of natural family planning and I really wanted to like this app, but it has been a disappointment. I wish it was more simple and had a more aesthetically appealing flow, and I wish the thermometer was a smart thermometer so it is less of a hassle.

Best Birth Control Ever!. I took hormonal birth control pills for about 6-8 months when newly married and quickly quit. I was always super nauseous and incredibly irritable. I am also forgetful, so if I missed a day and had to double up the next, I could go anywhere because I would throw up from my nauseous ness. I quit my birth control and throwing up out the window on the way home. My husband and I used the pull out method afterwards for 2 years, but we’re unhappy with it, as many times we feared we could be pregnant and took plan b. I studied how to do family planning, but didn’t trust myself to know enough about cervical mucus and other fertility signs in order to use it. Natural Cycles is awesome because it helps me trust my body and let me know when I don’t have to use protection without worry!

Amazing for birth control. I wanted to get off hormonal birth control after 10 years of continuous use (since I was 18), and let my body get used to whatever “normal” is supposed to be. This is in preparation to start our family in a few years. Not now. This app tracks period and ovulation and has helped us prevent pregnancy until we’re ready. It also has helped me understand my own cycle and self much better. There’s a lot of great information and educational info on here. One down side: I am a person who wakes up frequently during the night and I HAVE to take my temperature the very first time I wake up even if it’s 3am, otherwise my morning temperature is not accurate. Having to take your temp before you’re even awake is kind of annoying, but it’s all worth it.

Partner? Left out.. My husband and I are using the app to avoid pregnancy. I’ve been able to stop hormonal birth control, and in turn my mental health has improved immensely...I had no idea how much of an effect the hormones were having on me. I’ve learned so much about my body and love that I am able to take control of my fertility. The downside: since starting to use Natural Cycles, my hubby never knows if I am fertile or not. The amount of sex we’re having has decreased SUBSTANTIALLY - this app puts all of the onus is on the female partner to know when a couple could get pregnant and when you need to abstain. Because my partner is left out of the process, he has no idea if he is going to be shot down if he initiates sexy time. In committed relationships, reproduction and fertility is a two person responsibility, and I’m disappointed Natural Cycles has completely left my partner out of the mix.

Absolutely love everything about Natural Cycles. I’ve been using NC for three years now and I absolutely love it and I can’t imagine using anything else, ever. It has been so accurate and helpful with tracking all my info & it’s been so nice to know what’s happening with my body at each phase of my cycle. I wish this was the main form of BC for all women instead of the harmful pills they give out like candy. Highly highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get off the pill and live more in-sync with your body! The app is also so cute in the way that it sends you cute positive messages to keep you informed on your cycle! They also send out such great information about sex Ed, periods, vaginas, and all things related to such. I’ve learned so much about myself and my body with this, I can’t be more thankful that I found NC.

Great concept, needs improvement. I’ll preface this review with the fact that I LOVE the concept of NC and it being a natural way to keep track and take control of your own birth control. There are a few things though that I think could improve the experience: 1) the thermometer. There isn’t even a backlight to see the reading when it’s dark, so you have to have a light source next to you, which could wake a partner. And the incessant beeping. It’s obnoxious….just put a vibration feature to make it more discrete/prevent waking a partner. 2) the app is quite clunky in some areas. Viewing your cycle in graph form is cumbersome and hard to read. Rather than switching orientation, design a seamless normal view where you can see all the details of each cycle day. Also, when I go to view my cycle in the calendar section, it takes me all the way back to 2020 for some reason and I have to scroll just to get to the current month. I think NC could gain a lot of insight through Ovia and Kindara apps, which function beautifully. Kindara’s premium offers syncing to the lunar cycle…not necessary, but definitely a plus. Ultimately, I’m getting much more out of other app experiences, but paying more for NC. Please consider improving!

Best purchase I have made this year. I got it just as a natural birth control but the education that I have received has far exceeded expectations. I am dealing with another health issue that was causing me major anxiety. However because of learning about the hormone changes in my body during the different phases and how it changes my mood and body, it helped me realize that the other issues I had, were being effected with those phases. Once I realized this and found consistency in the changes it was a huge relief. It is the best purchase I have made all year. Even if you don’t need it for BC or family planning, I would still recommend for education. Measuring in the AM is pretty easy once you get the habit down! Thanks so much for everything!

These Updates, Yes!. When I started using this app almost a year ago it was in conjunction with another period tracker. Now I don’t need the other and feel I’m getting better value. My only concern is that the developers will go overboard with features. Please stay true to what this app will provide for its users and keep the unnecessary things away. Tracking moods and pain is definitely necessary; seeing patterns of how and WHEN I feel certain things helped me realize I wasn’t crazy 😆 I think right now the app is definitely in a good space. I can’t think of anything to add or takeaway. You all did great with picking the emotions! The interface is simple and easy to use. Thank you for this update and keep educating us women (and men) about the female body! 11/6 Update: With the new update the app has been a bit slow in response.

If you want your TTC. TL;DR: If you want technology to add stress to your TTC journey, use Natural Cycles. I really liked Natural Cycles at first. I learned a lot about my body and it’s patterns. However, it seems like their algorithm didn’t learn as much as I did. After 3 regular cycles, the app went haywire and told me that my current cycle was going to be inexplicably 5 days shorter. I emailed customer service about it, as it seemed this was a technical error, but they doubled down. This made it very confusing to figure out what day I should expect my next period because the app starting counting those days in my next cycle. The app told me that my period was late, which is not something taken lightly on a TTC journey. On the day that my regular period typically starts, the app told me that I should take a pregnancy test and that they were “keeping their fingers crossed for me.” I emailed custom service about the issues and their response was to hide behind the algorithm unapologetically and to stress the “importance of measuring to our guidelines”—the assumption being that I wasn’t. Maybe it works for some people, but it didn’t work for me.

Great foundation but app is just okay. I like that this app is highly accurate and FDA approved but as someone who is trying to conceive I think there are equally helpful, free apps out there that are faster, more intuitive and informative. For someone who is using it as birth control maybe it’s worth the money, but I haven’t gotten any information from NC that I hadn’t already from Glow, which I’ve been using for the past eight months just tracking my periods and taking ovulation tests. Glow’s predicted fertile dates have been the same as NC now that I’ve been using them both (I continue to toggle between them to compare and because I find Glow to be faster and more informative) so I don’t know what benefit I’m getting out of using NC. One example of how NC is not ideal, the temperature graph and the monthly calendar don’t have dates AND cycle days - the monthly calendar has dates but no cycle days, and the temperature graph has cycle days but no calendar dates. So I end up going back and forth between those two screens a lot. In Glow, when you look at the monthly calendar and your cycle chart you can see both the calendar date and your cycle day on the same screen. I also find that the symbols used in the NC calendar are cryptic and not immediately intuitive or clear. Again, compare it to Glow! Also, I’ve turned notifications on but don’t get any notifications...

Best birth control!!. I am 22. I have used the pill and the implant, but I was tired of the side effects. The pill almost cost me my relationship because of how bad my mood swings were. The implant was better, but I just didn’t like the fact that I had a little stick in my arm & the horror stories of it getting lost or getting an infection really scared me. I am so glad to be using natural cycles now!! I feel much better about my body, and I have learned a lot about my personal cycle even though I’ve only been using the app for 2 months. Better than high school Sex Ed lol. I am married now, so that definitely helped when choosing this app as a form of birth control. If I was a young girl not in a relationship & didn’t want to be pregnant, i would be hesitant to use this unless you have a lot of self control to not have sex on red days. At least use a condom if you do.

Oura Ring isn’t automatic. Big thing to understand about the fertility method — you have to take your own temperature every single morning the second you wake up BEFORE hitting snooze or doing anything else. And, that temperature doesn’t count if you’ve had more than 2 alcoholic drinks the night before. So even if you only drink on weekends, you’re still not getting temp data 2-3 days a week. I bought the Oura ring to help with this process because NC said it would take my temperatures for me, but if you don’t MANUALLY go into this app every single day to confirm the temperatures then they don’t get added to your data. And I tried going back a few days to add the data retroactively, but that doesn’t work either. When you know the Oura ring app should have all of that data stored. So beware that buying the Oura ring still doesn’t make this app hands-off, you still have to maintain it each day to make sure it’s gathering your temperature.

Love Natural Cycles. I’m a big fan of this app. At first I thought there was no way I would pay for a subscription based birth control. I had to get the paraguard IUD taken out Bc it was making me anemic (heavy heavy flow), which was okay Bc I was uncomfortable having something sit inside of my body for years. And then I found the fertility awareness method, found out how effective it is- and now here I am. Raving about it to everyone I speak to. Knowing your own cycle is so empowering and this has even overtook my period tracking apps because I love the interface so much. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. People have been preventing pregnancy for millennia without hormonal contraceptives and i think the tide is turning towards this sort of birth control.

So awesome to finally understand!. I just signed up for my subscription, and just want to say how excited I am to try this! I have been through a very tough year with different birth controls, hormone-related things like mood swings, migraines, and sharp pelvic pain that I never had before (they never figured out what it was). Doctors were always so blasé about my concerns, like it was no big deal, they just kept prescribing me different pills. I felt crazy for attributing all this to disregulated hormones, but I feel like as a woman, you just know. I don’t have any female friends to talk about this with, so reading the reviews I feel a huge sense of solidarity. Using for pregnancy prevention with my long term partner, but also want to understand myself better. Will update once I try the product!!

Hormonal-free Birth Control!. I was on traditional birth control for 18 years due to irregular cycles, cramp pains, etc and I wish the Dr. education me on my experiencing instead of making me feel that the pill was my only option for life until I wanted to get pregnant. It was super convenient of course but I wasn’t connected to my body (not to mention the side effects) and I was looking for a more natural way of understanding my cycle. Then my friend told me about Natural Cycles and that it is FDA approved/cleared. I love all of the care, quizzes, articles and education they put into this experience. I have wanted to better educate myself on my cycle and I’m grateful they are helping me along the way. The app feels incredibly accurate and I trust that they want to educate us and empower us know our body.

A little adjustment but overall great!. I have to admit it’s a little hard to move from being able to have unprotected sex all the time to being off birth control, but overall I love it. The app itself is really straightforward and interactive. You feel like the developers really care about teaching you about your cycle and body. It feels very empowering. The temperature part is easy once you get the hang of it, but I did wish I had realized how sensitive your basal temp check is (4 hr window, as soon as you wake up before getting up or moving around too much). For someone with a variable morning schedule it’s a little weird to get in the rhythm of. But like I said, super super happy I switched to this style of birth control and even happier that there is an app out there that makes me feel really safe doing it :)

Upgrade Technology with Thermastat. I’ve heard so many nightmare stories from my friends about their hormonal birth control and swore I’d never be on birth control. Coming across a product like Natural Cycle, empowers people to make wise decisions just by listening to your body and scientifically counting your ovulation. Completely a job well done! I’ve already referred friends to you all! The only reason I gave this app 4 stars instead of 5, is there’s a huge opportunity to automate the thermostat to speak to the app. Instead of manually always putting your temperature into the app; the thermostat should automatically sync your temperature into the day as soon as you here the beep! That way we won’t be able to miss a day by eliminating a step and you get to keep discretion in the mornings in front of people! Regardless, huge advocate for NC! Excited to watch your growth!

Effective for Both Birth Control and Planning Pregnancy. I’ve used this app for several months, mainly for birth control, and it has been extremely effective. At first I was very unsure about “natural” birth control, but was very impressed that if the app is even slightly unsure, it will automatically give you a red day, so there is much less risk than I thought there would be. When we were ready to try for a pregnancy, it was a seamless transition in the app to know what to plan for, and we were pregnant within a month. Now we are using it to follow our pregnancy and I still find it very user friendly and helpful. For anyone trying to go hormone free, I would definitely recommend this app, and already have to friends and family. Science-based, informative, and HIGHLY effective no matter what you are choosing to use it for.

Easier than I expected!. I’m 27 and in a relationship with a cis man. I’ve tried the pill, which made me feel crazy (and the idea of taking synthetic hormones long-term yucked me out). Several years ago I got the copper IUD - I liked that it was hormone free and that I didn’t need to remember anything daily. But my period pain has gotten worse & worse, and I’m wanting to take it out. I decided to try this method because it’s one of my only hormone-free options besides barriers. I was worried about remembering to enter my temp at the right time every day, but the algorithm has impressed me. I’ve gotten better at remembering to measure, but I’m still not perfect. And yet the algorithm has narrowed it down to one week of potentially-fertile days. I haven’t verified with LH tests, but I plan to soon. So far, I’m very happy with Natural Cycles and, of my ovulation tests match the results in the app, I’m going to take out my IUD and be allllll natural :)

Useful, but FAR from perfect.. I went into this with an open mind and optimism. A few months into trying NC I gave up, partly with the help of my ob/gyn. While the app did get to know my cycle pretty well in the general sense, I really disliked how it never had an accurate time of my ovulation day. It would fluctuate so much and move forward or back and made me NOT trust the algorithm, so we kept using condoms to make sure there were no slip ups. Fast-forward to my annual exam and my gyno did a vaginal ultrasound and she goes, “ah, I can tell you ovulated a few days ago.” That was on a Friday. The following morning, my app still *had not* registered my ovulation day and was still “waiting for confirmation,” and I was religious with taking my temp in the morning. So no, unfortunately this didn’t work for me and lost all faith in the app rather quickly after that. Not to mention that If you have fluctuating schedules or suffer from insomnia, this method will not work either.

Successfully used for prevention and pregnancy. I used natural cycles for birth control for 3 years. It felt great to finally get off hormonal birth control that I’ve been on, on and off, since I was a teenager. I always had side effects. I didn’t even use the app that consistently, but after a year or so I was getting regular notifications about my ovulation and the regularity of my cycle. Last fall, when we switched to “planning a pregnancy” Natural Cycles knew my ovulation day and we got pregnant the first try. I’m 31 and it feels really great that I didn’t spend months stressing over finding my ovulation. I also felt good knowing that if we did have trouble conceiving, I would have a three year cycle record to show my doctor to help identify the problem. Can’t recommend enough.

It works!. My husband and I used this app at the beginning of our marriage to prevent pregnancy, and 6 months later we switched to plan pregnancy. I got pregnant on the second try which is great! I have a very regular cycle so it was easy for the app to pick up on my cycle and any variations in it. I think your experience will depend on the type of cycle you have and how familiar you are with your cycle. I would trust my own judgement at times instead of what the app told me, but this can be dangerous if you don’t know your cycle well or if you do it irresponsibly. I would suggest this for anyone preventing or planning pregnancy, but not for anyone who is not committed to accurately taking their temperature daily - the app won’t work if you do not sleep consistently through the night!

A great app—just be diligent with your data!. I’ve been using natural cycles for over a year now preventatively. Before I started, I had been off hormonal birth control (after 15 years) for a year, using condoms with my boyfriend. But condoms break and if you don’t know your cycle, you don’t know if you’re at risk to get pregnant. I realized I needed to at least start tracking my cycle. Natural Cycles has been so helpful as a tracker, and as birth control—although I’ve had trouble finding my ovulation day with LH tests. Instead, I just add an extra red day on the beginning and end of my fertile period, which gets quite short if you measure enough! Get to know the app, get to know your body, and treat both with caution since nothing is irrefutable. It’s a great app and it’s really changed my life and liberated my body!

Get back to your natural period and understand it for the first time. As an athlete, I love that Natural Cycles tells me so much more about each stage of my cycle - what to expect and when to expect it! Also, my cycle has always been closer to 30-35 days long, and I had a hard time keeping track of it due to the fact that it wasn’t a perfect 28. I also falsely considered myself irregular - but really only because, even as an adult, I didn’t understand enough about what normal is! There is a huge issue in my sport with the prevalence of amenorrhea and the underlying health issues can be masked by hormonal contraceptives for years. So if you would like to get back your natural period - and the valuable health feedback that it provides - I highly recommend Natural Cycles!

Unplanned pregnancy. Love the idea behind this app. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful with it within the first 2 months of using it. I got off my Mirena IUD and about 2 months later I was pregnant. I hadn’t had a period in years from being on the Mirena. Around the same time of having my IUD removed I bought the natural cycles app and digital basal thermometer. I began documenting my periods and spotting. I used protection on the days it recommended and even used the morning after pill after a one day period just in case. Obviously the app wasn't accurate as I followed it closely and found myself with a surprise. I also just learned that there have been many women in the same boat using this app, leading to unwanted pregnancies and abortions. My advice is to just always use protection regardless of what the app says and make sure you’re cycle is regular for several months before following the app’s predictions if you’re just getting off of hormonal birth control. And in case you didn’t know, you CAN get pregnant while on your period. This is not something well known and not made clear when using the app.

Amazing App!. I LOVE Natural Cycles! I put a friend on this before I decided to take the leap myself. I was tired of dealing with the consequences of hormonal imbalances: trouble sleeping, fatigue, mood swings, irritation, etc. I wanted to move away from that and focus and learning about my body and my natural cycle. I asked some friends about their experience and they have only good things to say, so I decided to try it. I’ve been using it for almost a month and really like it. I was on the pill before so using a thermometer every morning was the same discipline as taking the pill each day. The transition was easy and I’ve loved the change in my sleep and the articles Natural Cycles provided to help me learn more about my body! Highly recommend this product!

Don’t bother if using Oura ring. I didn’t want to take hormonal birth control after having my first. I already had an Oura ring and got the notice that Oura had joined with natural cycle so I was eager to give it a try. I logged my first withdrawal bleed and everything was great. After getting my first period I logged it and then all of my data disappeared and it was like I was starting from scratch again and it’s waiting for me to log my first withdrawal bleed again. I reached out to customer service to find out what happened and was told that this is an issue with how the data between Oura and natural cycles is shared. Whenever you log a period it wipes all previous data. So essentially, this app is worthless because it will tell you every day it cannot confirm ovulation until your first period, but when you log that period, it loses everything. They also said they don’t know when it’ll be able to be fixed. Very disappointed that I spent money on this.

Worth it!. I was on hormonal birth control for 13 years. I had to get off of it because of a migraine condition and natural cycles was recommended to me! At first I was confused how it worked or if it would be worth it, but it totally is!! It takes a while for everything to sync up if you’ve been on BC for a while, but after about 2 months I was able to see my non-fertile days! It’s really nice because I haven’t had a normal period before so being able to see when it’s predicted to come has helped a lot. You just have to get in the habit!! I would recommend it to anyone! Also it’s so much peace seeing when we should wear protection and when we are safe not to!! (My husband loves it) I also purchased the Oura ring that takes your temp automatically, and it’s a game changer.

This App and Method work and are effective!. I’ve been using this app for about two years, (before it became big in the US) and it has been amazing. For multiple personal reasons-I did not want to go on birth control so I did some research and Natural Cycles proved to be the best alternative- and it absolutely is! I love this app. If used correctly, (and it isn’t difficult to do so) it kept me from becoming pregnant and then when my husband and I decided it was time to have a baby it helped us to track my ovulation and it was spot on! Now I’m happily pregnant and continue to take my temperature every morning. It shows me how my baby is growing and gives tips, etc. I recommend this app to anyone I know who does not want to go on birth control. I will use this app forever!

Only FSA eligible if you have a prescription. I am about 30 days into the app. I would advise to look into what the app requires in order to work properly. You have to take daily temperature readings and update your moods and other information. Consistent information calculates your cycle and is needed for accurate calculations. Just know it requires discipline. Also, a big selling point for me to get the yearly subscription is that it stated that it was FSA eligible. My FSA rejected it because they stated I needed a prescription. Both my primary and OBGYN would not give me a prescription because they were not familiar with the app, thus no reimbursement for me. I would still recommend this app though. It provides education on your cycle and I firmly believe that drug birth control is not best for everyone’s bodies and working with, learning, understanding your body is good.

Thorough and easy to use!. I love this app! I was looking into different birth control options when i got engaged to my husband and we decided to invest into the natural family planning option. This app makes sure to ask you about key elements which goes into predicting your ovulation days so you can either plan or avoid pregnancy and also predict your period. I love this app because it is simple and easy to use. The app reminds you why it is important and what it meant to measure and document different things. It reviews important aspects of your cycle with you. I thought it was actually very informative and helpful. My OBGYN has not heard of this particular app but was very supportive and excited for me. She was very surprised as to how involved i was and informed i was about natural family planning and actually planning. Thankful for this app because i don’t think i could do it on my own.

I am grateful Natural Cycles. I never took any kind of contraceptives for most of my life and I was heavily recommended to do so because of my overwhelmingly painful periods. I continuously refused until I decided to start having unprotected sex with my husband. We didn't want a baby yet, so I started the pill. The pill messed up everything in my body. I gained lots of weight, became super emotional, my period became very irregular, and it didn't help my cramps. 1. They educate you on how to use this app to its fullest potential and it is very accurate. 2. The customer service is VERY helpful! They sent me complimentary ovulation strips to boost the algorithm to understand my body. 3. I have had the opportunity to use all 3 of their settings. Prevention, pregnancy planning, and pregnancy mode. I have enjoyed both the prevention and planning modes, but in my opinion the pregnancy part of the app is lacking. I feel I will need to download a better app with more day to day information. Thank you very much for this application! I would also appreciate if it were a little less expressive...$80/year is understandable, but there are so many women that could benefit from this and can't afford that much money per year. Even I may have difficulty depending on the year.

Wow..this is no joke. Discovered this app and did some research before purchasing. This alternative to birth control is genius- point blank. Straightforward approach, the creators have done a great job of explaining how to take your temp first thing, love their IG page! I think my fave feature is the “notes” section, where I can track how I’m feeling that day and compare each month. My only complaint is that I wish there was a (better) way to know what phase of your cycle you’re in- the same way it lets you know whether or not you’re fertile for that day, wish it’d also inform you of the follicular/luteal/ovulation for that day as well...there’s the statistics page but that’s not easy to read/understand. Overall, if you get this app it takes some time and patience at first but it’s so worth it and freeing!

Best bc app. I do not rate things but i needed to do this one - if anyone is questioning going off their hormonal bc pill or any bc LOOK NO FURTHER. This app is a-1. I love this app. I truly think its the best thing for women who want to track their cycle in a nonhormonal way and trust the science behind it. I was able to start sensing ovulation and when auntie red was coming. I never took my temperature once so i cant speak on that side but for the past year and a half, while i was in a long term relationship with one man, i have successfully tracked my cycle in the app with the use of skyn condoms. I cant say enough good things. During the green days, no condom. Red days, condom. As easy as that. I ended up getting an iud today because I hate using the condoms, but worth it overall. I’ll be back forsure

Will never use anything different!. I can’t say enough about this app! I knew I never wanted to be on birth control so when I was deciding what to use, I came across this app. I don’t even remember how or where I saw it! But I do know that this thing WORKS! You have to be consistent and willing to do the little ‘work’ for it to tailor itself to you. But it’s SO worth it. I’ve been using this for three years now and will never use anything different. And my husband and I have only been pregnant once, when we wanted too! I’m just so happy I never had to put any terrible hormone changing chemicals into my body and that I have the option to use this instead. I’ve even learned so much about my body and how it works due to their informational messages and alerts. Again, I can’t say enough. If you’re on the fence, do it. Your body will thank you.

6 years and counting. We started using this for birth control in 2017 and have not stopped. It has been great and I have learned so much- learning about my body is always helpful. I’ve been using that to avoid pregnancy but I also appreciate that you can use this app to try to get pregnant as well, if we decide to go that route. I got my own basal thermometer that was better quality and better served my needs and I get my own cheaper LH strips. But overall it has been great. My friends 6 years ago thought I was crazy but a few of them have come around and started using it this past year and it seems to be going well for them too. Consider if you want to be good about entering data at the start, but if it’s not a hassle for you- I really recommend natural cycles.

Annoying app, offensive Instagram. This app will give you multiple notifications a day. Even if you have your notifications turned off, there is always an increasing number of notifications in the form of silent bubble numbers for you to read these redundant messages on how to correctly measure your temp and what the female anatomy is. I find it anxiety producing, just seeing the number of messages constantly there on the app. Additionally, they just posted a pic of Billie Eilish to their Instagram feed. I don’t consider this entertainer to have a positive message for women. Nor do I want this type of forced consumption of pop culture coming up in my feed. Coming from my fertility and menstruation tracker app, this is bizarre and a serious violation of my peace of mind, and it is 100% unnecessary. I have cancelled my subscription and am deleting the app. Good riddance. There are many other similar apps that no doubt won’t leave me a thousand messages a month and aren’t trying to be cool. Moving it along.

Happy doesn’t cover it. I’m thrilled to have found this app! I ran across it in a random Facebook article about a month before it was accepted by the US and waited impatiently for it to be approved! I’m allergic to birth control, literally, I get very sick and not to be TMI but on it I’m constantly dealing with yeast infection issues and migraines. I couldn’t afford the yearly price of the app so I did month to month and picked up a basal thermometer from target for $8. The app is so easy to use! Put your thermometer on your phone and grab it when your alarm goes off. I’m a single mom, I’m incredibly busy, and having something that makes life easier is a blessing. Natural cycles is that for me. I’m keeping track of my bodies rhythms and knowing when my courses are coming without chemicals or tons of time. One minute to take your temp, one minute to enter it and read up on where you are, done! It doesn’t get easier. I’m thrilled!

Love understanding my body!. This app has been a game changer for me and my husband! I have never believed in using hormonal birth control so I needed to find a better solution after having my first baby, so that my body could recover from the postpartum period and I could establish a routine with my family. Natural Cycles was it. My husband loves learning about the luteal and follicular phases, and he already has my rhythms memorized. It feels so empowering, for both of us, to understand what’s happening in my body and to know that women were designed this way! Our bodies are not random or illogical, but rather have very specific patterns which enable us to prevent or plan a pregnancy without fear. I can’t say enough good things about this app. Just thankful to the brilliant developers!!

Do your research before spending your money. I wish I would have done more research before dropping a non-refundable $100 on this app and here's why. 1) I thought the thermometer automatically updated into the app via Bluetooth and it doesn't -- I guess it doesn't claim to do that anywhere but with all the fancy advertising I guess I figured it would 2) the thermometer is a horrible UI. Beeps are insesent and loud, no back lightning to handle in the dark, and the storage of your previous temp is shoddy at best. There are cheaper and better BBT thermometers elsewhere. 3) this app is marketed in a way that I find predatory and wish I wouldn't have fallen for it 4) this is glorified rhythm method dressed up to look like FAM method. Rhythm method is notoriously incomplete. The marketing doesn't disclose the difference. 5) the green days change after the fact which is horrible and confusing. 6) I now know two people who had unwanted pregnancy as a result of using this app.
