easy upgrade. I hesitated to get the latest version, because upgrades can be a hassle. I finally broke down because the new version had features I wanted. the upgrade through iTunes went smoothly and in a few minutes I had all of my data in the new program, complete with features I needed. the best feature of this program is being able to create new categories and being able to take out a percentage of income so it auto calculates my SAG dues for me. there are a few great perks to this program and if you need something it does not have, contact support and chances are you can do it with this program. in the past when I needed help doing things, tidal pool support responded promptly and quickly, and while I was relying on that in case things did not go smoothly, it was unnecessary. my accountant loves me as I now submit quarterly reports to him without delay, and I never feel stressed doing taxes and receipts any more. great program, great company, great support. p.s. all of donnyn’s reviews are negative. he has nothing good to say about any program, and has nothing constructive to say about fixing any of them. just saying’….

Good App...no Great App!. I fell in love with this App...but then the 9.99 broke my heart. On the serious note; the app is great it did everything I wanted in this type of app, but it is simply too expensive for an app.

Great App!. I have found this to be a huge time saver. As a self employed person, I have to keep track of almost everything I spend money on. The minute I get a new receipt, I add it to my files and take a picture. The app tallies everything and keeps the pic, so I can dispose of all those little pieces of paper. Upgrading to the latest software when I got an iPhone 6 was tough, but I finally got it worked out. So glad cause it's a useful app!

Great app! I literally recommend it to everyone. I got this app maybe 5-6 years ago and it’s amazing! After paying I think $10 to get unlimited receipts, I’ve used it religiously ever since. It has a really stable camera for taking pictures, and lets you categorize your receipts in a really nice way to be able to find them. You can also keep track of incoming money as well, and track your information and spending over time (although I don’t really do that because I don’t put paycheck info and bills stuff in it, so it wouldn’t be accurate). I’ve customized my categories and icons so I can sort them really well, like “Clothing”, “Clothing- costume”, “Clothing -work”, etc. Everytime I’m shopping with someone and they see me take a picture of my receipts I tell them about this app because it helped me get a better sense of how I’m spending money- it keeps me accountable.

Absolutely the best. I'm not an accountant and quickbooks intimidated me. So when I delved into this app, I was in heaven. I have organized and categorized all my expenses for the year with this so easily. It creates very useful reports and I love that it imports to so many different avenues for ease of backup. In app purchase is $10. It is soooo worth it if you are not a math person but need to keep track of expenses and income.

User. Looked at a lot and went to this software. It really should be called Expense Record because receipts is only the tiniest part of its capabilities. You can create you own forms and add fields; create expense reports; select which fields show in a report; have your report fields show in a different order than on your forms; export your reports in Excel, PDF, CSV formats plus others and much, much more. All if this takes place on your mobile device. Email your reports to your company or yourself for submission. It is a keeper!! Support is fast and ongoing.

Toooo expensive for the pro version. This trial version can only holds 25 receipts! The Pro version costs $9.99! too expensive for this kind of app. I use iExpenses now.

Only 10 receipts?. I was looking for an app to track expenses and income from a small side business. This only allows you to track 10 receipts before needing to pay for the upgrade. Useless.

Not what I wanted. This might be a great App, buts it's not what I wanted. I'm a confirmed Evernote user and their description in the App Store led me to believe its works with Evernote . It will only send a report to Evernote, which is no use to me

Good tool but needs a way to import PDFs. I was very excited to learn that I could sync to google drive until I found out that I had to create a CSV document in order to do that when all I really need is to import PDFs that I received electronically from places like hotel and Travelocity and car rental. This tool will make life so much easier once this upgrade happens please make it happen quickly.

Useless. So apparently you need to buy the $9.99 to be able to use this app. Without the upgrade it's pretty useless. So what is the point of having a free version? Just to frustrate users?

Awesome Apps. The thing I like best about this is, because it's on my iPhone, I can enter my receipts right at point of sale, snap a picture of the receipt and then forget about it! Then let it do it's magic in organizing and spit out great reports! I've never been this organized! This app makes me look good! It literally took the stress out of nightmare Expense Reports!

Nikki. I absolutely love this app!!!! I am so glad I purchased the $10 upgrade. I am more conscience of my spending and where my money is going.

Promising but needs polish. I used the app frequently during a 6-day business trip. It's simple but very flexible so I paid the $10 to save more than 10 receipts. I have experienced one troublesome bug: the app deleted several receipt images, although I may have misunderstood the 'edit' interface? (Either way, not good.) One additional bug: the app crashes when exporting large report to email (although there are many export options and I have found a work-around). The app does handle PDF imports now. All-in-all a useful app.

Slimy scamer's. I spent hours entering individual receipts by hand before it ever mentioned paying for the app. THIS IS NOT A FREE APP. It's a sample app.

Don't buy. Poor excuse for an app. No support. Lost years of data. Don't buy this crap.

Excellent Program. I've been using this for years and it helps me with tax time on rent houses as well as personal finances. Would like to see more filter options :)

Good for budgeting. First know that the upgrade is $9.99. Before I buy it I'm going to see if it works on my iPad and will sync across. For that price it certainly should. That aside, if you have budgets, for example you use a "jar" or "envelope system but don't want to be 100% cash or have 5 or 6 savings accounts to divvied you cash into, you can customize the categories to suite your budgets and even have sub categories. Example : NECESSITIES as a parent category and sub categories of clothes, gas, and groceries. And you can choose icons and color code each category and subcategory. This is important to me. I buy everything on one credit to earn my bonus points but I keep my purchases to particular % of my total income in each parent category. So with this app recording my receipts I can see my spending. The reports are useful if you have your categories set up clearly. Reports only report on one account at a time which is the only draw back. If you use multiple cards and cash and want to see the bigger picture you really cannot.

Ripped Off. Looks like I'm not the only one who got ripped off when I upgraded to this version. I had previously paid for I passed version and it worked great, and then with the upgrade it lost all of my information, so I had to rewrite in hundreds of receipts for my 2014 tax year. And of course, now I have to pay $10 if I want to upgrade. I'm just making my own Excel spreadsheet's and saying screw it to this developer

Paid version of this app is a rip-off and a complete waste of time. You will loose all your data. I purchased a $10 version of this app about two years ago. It was a 3.06 version. It constantly crashed whenever i needed to export my data. It never updated to any other versions. I wrote to the developers and they advised me to get upgraded from 4.6 version to a paid (!) version of 5.06. But i am on 3.06!!! They said that version is no good anymore and i need to start over by buying a 5.06 version. Never mind that i had already paid $10 and that i had two years worth of data that i couldn't save. I will never rely on some app again to save my data. Excel spreadsheet is the way to go. If you are thinking of buying 5.06 version in hopes it won't crash - i wouldn't recommend that. These guys already have another version scheduled to come out and all of you on 5.06 will have to pay again most likely.

I travel every week and this is my favorite app. This app is great for making my weekly expense report easy. Reporting to shared cloud drives makes saving data easy and syncing between multiple iOS devices means I can enter on whatever I have in my hand. I never misplace a receipt when I have them all stored in my phone. I have been using this app for several years and the support has always been excellent.

Best Travel Expense Reporting App I've found. I use this app every time I travel. It makes expense reporting so easy. At the end of the trip I can send myself an itemized excel spreadsheet with all my expenses. You can setup custom categories for your own companies expense categories. So convenient. I love the ability to take a photo of a receipt and link it to the expense. I no longer need to worry about losing receipts or the hassle of scanning them in when I return to the office.

Tried a bunch of receipt managers, I consider this the best. I liked this program and foreceipts, however foreceipts only kept a very low resolution copy of the picture I take so for long receipts I could not read all the details. Additionally I wanted something I could sync to my google drive since the syncing services of other receipt managers were unreliable at best. I feel like this program has a little bit of clutter (features I will not use and wish I could remove) but so far seems the most reliable with the best syncing. I would highly recommend.

Scam Artists. When I upgraded to I OS 8+ my previously purchased receipts pro was not supported. I had to export everything into spreadsheets. I downloaded the new receipts app. I THEN had to repurchase for $9.99 the receipts pro to enter more than 10 receipts. It would not recognize my previous purchase.

It costs $10. Should have said in the description.. I love the way this works. What I don't love is how they don't mention you're only allowed to add 10 receipts before they cut you off and make you buy it for $10 if you want to keep using it. I would have paid $10 for it, but I don't like being mislead.

Not a good experience. App support wanted me to purchase the pro version twice because it wouldn't work with the new iOS updates. They wouldn't issue a credit, and they wouldn't offer anything else. "Just pay the $10 again" is what they said. Don't buy if you ever plan on updating iOS.

Does not scan, just manual entry. You can take a photograph of a receipt as an attachment. DELETED

Disappointed. Liked the app until I tried to take a photo. Went to camera with no icons to take the photo. Had to delete the app to exit the camera mode.

Exactly what I had been looking for. Having tried a few, this is just what I need - an electronic way of keeping track of my receipts and other expenditure, so that I don't have to do it all at once at tax time, it's all backed up to Dropbox (or whatever you choose), and I can have multiple accounts and filters. Perfect for keeping track of family expenses or individual tax receipts.

Disappointed. I love this app but was highly disappointed when I got a new phone and transferred everything over and it didn’t have the last six months of paperwork on it and now I have to find all my receipts for tax otherwise it is fantastic

Ok. So far so good. Setting up to meet my needs took a bit to working out. The date doesn't automatically update each day so you have to keep an eye on it. Having said that it's the only app I could find that I could attach receipts easily. The graphs look good.

Please keep updating & porting. I’ve been a fan of this app for years. There are so many clunky and convoluted accounting apps out there. This one does exactly what it says on the tin. My only complaint is that there’s still no sign of it being ported to the iPad and Mac! I really really don’t want to use anything else for the distasteful admin chore of collating receipts. So please keep updating.

Receipt App. I have been using the app for over a year and found it very helpful. I print out the expenses every month. Recently I gave upgraded to the Pro version and I found the price a bit steep but worth it if I can use it for sometime to come. In digital world things can change rapidly so keeping fingers crossed.

A Fantastic Example of Brilliant App. I am a happy unaffliated customer, I recognised a great app when I see one. I have been a Receipts Pro user for a few years ago, I researched similiar apps, I settled on Receipts as is the most feature riched, highly customisable, stable, and user friendly. It has exceed all my expectations and met all my Australian tax time requirements, my 3 mini businesses, and personal spending and more. My accountant loves me, as I only have to export to email to my accountant in csv with all receipts attachments. I love the ability to create useful fields, ie auto calculate Aus GST, tag fields for a 'list' to pick. I adore the ability to take pics of receipts and i never have to worry about cant find receipts for warranty and proof of purchase again.. Two points to new users, 1) this is not an app that don't need learning, but I found learning to use the app intuitive, and evertime I find more surprise brillant features and many more to discover, ie I recently set up sync to Google Drive, backup these important papers is now painless and a breeze. 2) Beware of email size quota if u choose to email. Customer Service very responsive!!! This is an app money well spent and tax deductable :-)

Common sense design. What I like about this app is its simplicity. It doesn't use big fancy accounting words. It lets me intuitively store & index my personal & business receipts. It has decent backup/export options. It produces customisable reports. It's not shackled to a paid online service.

Easy to use budgeting app. It's a great app for storing receipts and budgeting. There's flexibility in creating excel spreadsheets with different data. When I've had troubleshooting issues, the developer is quick to respond.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Brilliant App. I use for tax and it is simple & effective.My accountant has recommended app to others after I told him. I loved the previous version & the new is even better. To top it off when I had a problem when app upgraded finding data I wrote to developer and they responded straight away & went above & beyond with help which was amazing !

Not great. This app is quite nice, the exported reports are nearly there. I really need a total at the top of the report, I cannot make it work. If I export a pdf with all category expenses there is no total on the report so I have to add each category up. That is a poor oversight. I can add a field but it won't work. Means my accountant has to charge me more to add it all up. I am also unable to attach any receipts or photos to the reports. The settings indicate it should work but, again, it doesn't work. Poor form

Poor support and upgrade. After originally downloading the PRO version of the app and using it I was pleased with the outcome BUT when, after an extended period i came back to use the app it had revert to the basic. Attempting to restore the previous PRO upgrade hasn't worked, requests for support have been responded to and basically at this point I'm looking for another app that can do the job properly and have been refunded by Apple.

10 out of 10 for this app. I have tried many different apps to capture my receipts, but nine as good and as easy to use as the "receipts" app. Easy input, attaches a photo and converts into an excel spreadsheet report. I am one very happy customer. Jennifer, Sydney

Still evaluating. I've been using receipts for the last couple of months. It's very promising, but I haven't used all it's functions yet. I find it a little glitchy, in that when I type in receipt data, it sometimes reverts to info from previous receipts. Hopefully, I can export the data to a spreadsheet. The real test will come eofy when I prepare my taxes. If it saves me even a day's worth of bookkeeping I will be impressed.

Updates can cause problems. It usually works well, but twice I have experienced problems when updates don't recognise previous purchases. The software support is good but they can't always solve the problem.

A simple no nonsense receipt app. Simple and easy to use. I use it to scan all my paper receipts for my incorporation accounting and save the backups in google drive. Have been using for more than a year now.

Surprise Price. Works very well… if you pay $12 for the full version. Anyone looking for a free app should probably not buy this.

Very good app. I need to track expenses while travelling and for border crossings, so I needed at least 2 good reports (1) Consumed (2) Imports. This app has the flexibility to do that and much more. It is also multi-currency and extremely customizable. One caution: there IS a considerable learning curve as the manual is not detailed enough in some specifics. If you hang in there, the time and effort is well worth it. Support is excellent - my email inquiries were answered almost immediately.

Horrible app. It crashes and you lose your data. I had to download the new version of their app and pay for it again. It's also very unclear how you export the data. I don't recommend this app to anyone.

Still the best and easiest to use. Fair price for a great app. I just want an app to record my expenses easily and quickly and then export it so I can sort it. This does the job exactly the way I need it without needless overhead like some other apps.

Décourageant. Je me disais que je savais assez bien parler anglais pour utiliser l'App, mais ce fut 10$ à l'eau. C'est une erreur d'essayer de gérer ses finances dans une langue qui n'est pas de naissance. Je me suis découragée.

Great receipt tracker and expense report ap. Finally After trying 17 similar apps this was the only one that allowed for custom percentage fields for GST and PST.... And auto extracts them from the total entered (if desired). With a bit of help from the great support people got this up n running and tested a report export. Worked great. Highly customizable. Highly recommend it.
