Pros and Cons. The user interface is easy to use and navigate. The app is excellent at picking up motion and recording clips. There are however issues that I encountered both software and hardware issues. One drawback is the phone needs to stay on at all times with the screen illuminated. I found with my old spare iphone4 it would get hot and then the battery would drain despite being plugged in. While this may not be a app issue, it would be fair to say many users use old phones with this app. I would constantly get emails that phone lost wifi signal or battery draining. My wifi signal is constant and does not cut out. It was frustrating when I left for vacation and a few days in the recording stops for various reasons. I have since bought a webcam with cloud backup and found it to much more reliable.

Has potential. This app really has potential. I wanted to turn my old iPhone into a portable vehicle trailer “backup camera”. I can turn on personal hotspot to connect the old iPhone to the network. And while it does work, everything it backwards. The app needs an option to “reverse” or “mirror” the image. I’d easily pay $15 for such an app.

5.3 update bad on old phones. Been using for several years and my old iPhone 4 as the camera. 5.3 update does not show up on my iPhone 4. Updated my iPhone 6 with no issues. Now since the update the iPhone 4 will record just fine. But there is no lube connection when viewing on my 6. Need a update for the 4 please. If it's not coming then the app will be useless to me. I don't have another phone to use as the camera.

Manything was really useful to monitor my pet bird while I was on travel. I'm back from my trip to the U.S. Even though I'm back, ManyThing worked so well keeping an eye on Monta, my java sparrow, and even letting me talk to him (!) that I will keep the subscription going. When I'm out I can still check on him, and my partner can check on him from work. Plus I've been able to download a lot of cute clips to upload for FaceBook. The 2nd day I was gone it stopped working for some reason, but my partner was able to get it working again. Other than that one incident, it's been working flawlessly since April 1. I've recommended it to friends.

Very bad support. Get a real camera.. Hello all, I’ve been a paying customer of manything for years now. Sometimes I don’t have any cameras setup but I keep paying the subscription so that a company that I like survives. I’ve left my home unattended and my camera went offline but I did not receive any push notification on my phone. That’s fine because I got an email. However, I tried to look at the cloud recorded videos but couldn’t see anything that my camera saw before it went offline. I’ve emailed support yesterday but they haven’t responded. Now I’m left with no information about whats going on at home while I’m traveling abroad. I will never use manything again and take back all the recommendations I made to my friends. I hope you guys struggle real hard as I’m struggling right now.

Best phone security. I’ve found no other app that detects motion,sound,blocking areas, complete remote control away from home, and multiple cameras. Been using it for 4 years and is 100% reliable. Was too sensitive and had to turn down detection levels. This on a 11 year old iphone 4 as the camera.

This app is great. I never knew you could have a old phone as a security camera until now! This app is great for watching over your baby, pets of just about anything. The only bad this is the interface I think the app could be designed a little better with a fresh look. Overall though great app! Download it today!

Disappointing!. This app used to work well using an iPhone 5s as the primary camera, however, nowadays it’s badly broken and seems to get worse with each update. The app does not record anything moving when it should be, and always shows it stuck “still mode” when the app is set on “live recording”. Multiple reboots, reinstalls and updates did not resolve the issues. If you’re looking for an app to use for security, motion or capturing something important look elsewhere! This app won’t record anything except for one frame of video and the sound - making it essentially worthless.

Bad to worse. UPDATE: on iOS 11.0 App has deteriorated even further with release of iOS 11.0. Clips often turn to black now in addition to even worse levels of jerkiness as described below. App is virtually unusable now. What an utter waste of time. Reducing to 1 star and cancelled subscription. _____ ORIGINAL: on 10.3.3 Latest version of the app is EXTREMELY jerky when scrubbing through clips. This occurs on both iPhone 7 and iPad Air 2, both on 10.3.3, even after deleting and reinstalling the app. Prior to this update, when scrubbing through a clip the app was always silky smooth. But now scrubbing through a clip constantly results in random jerkiness and hang-ups, inevitably causing inadvertent skips to the next or previous clip as the app hangs and your gesture turns into a swipe. Once or twice of this nonsense is ok, but when you're reviewing hundreds of clips and this is repeated hundreds of times, it quickly becomes a frustrating and colossal waste of time. Another needed change is clear functional distinctions in the ui between scrubbing and swiping. Far too often (especially in this latest version as described) it is way too easy to turn a scrub into a swipe. This is poor design resulting in unacceptable performance. I will not renew my subscription and start looking for alternatives if the jerkiness is not fixed. If fixed, I'll stick around as well as change my rating.

Decent but better options exist. There are A TON of options for cloud security cameras these days. I do like the ease of using an extra iphone for this, but the problem is You must be logged into icloud as a result and so my phone constantly has issue where it wants to update or notify some system thing which causes problems for the camera recording consistently. i have to routinely check the display and close all the modal alerts out or the phone overheats with the display on full bright which it automatically does. I know the app doesn’t really have any say in this, but it’s a downside of using only an Idevice

Latest update using iOS 11. The latest Manything update is fantastic. Having the larger picture along with being able to zoom in is a great addition. One of my cameras wasn’t uploading the alert videos to the cloud so I sent them an email this morning (on a Sunday), and within 2 hours I got a reply back on how to fix it. Great customer service!

Did not detect motion. Purchased the subscription for home monitoring but wanted to use it for monitoring my indoor garden. I will start to say that the app did not perform its function and has inconsistent motion detection. I have a 4 year old night shade that was going to bloom for its first time so I pointed the camera in its direction. If you know night shades only bloom once very briefly and then wilt. The camera did not detect and motion of the flower despite being 14 inches from the plant, however in the distance of the window the camera went off once to detect a person. I had the camera up for 3 days to catch the event. So not only did it not detect the flower, but in all that time it only caught one person walking down a relatively busy city street. So it’s not even reliable for what it is designed to do which is home monitoring. I cannot recommend this product.

Not Working. Right up front it asks for access to all my files. I selected NO. I did give access to camera and microphone. I set up my camera on the Monitor/camera phone and then tried to set up the control phone. It said the account did not match anything. So, I tried to log in under Set Up New account. It said the account information already exists. 🤷🏼‍♀️The camera is on and monitoring. I hope some creep is not watching what I do! I will be uninstalling quickly and reporting if something doesn’t happen pretty quick.

Great app. I am using the free plan and set up my iPod as a camera facing my bedroom door and it sends me an email every time something moves included with a picture. I downloaded this app because I like to go to my dads office during the summer but my sister likes to stay home and constantly goes in my room and leaves her trash and takes my stuff so I set this camera up so I could bust her. Thanks Manything.

Transition to landscape. It’s a great app, very useful. Alerts are nice. Only one complaint I have is, when switching from portrait (upright) to landscape (horizontal) the video you are watching will stop and go to the beginning and then you’ll need to press play again, but it starts at the beginning of the clip. Good job guys, keep the compatible cameras coming!

Great!. I use this app with my iPhones and it has really put my mind at ease when I am not at home. I can see what my elderly mother is doing, and how her home attendants are treating her. Thank you so much. I didn't give it give stars because, you now have to upgrade and pay for things that were once free.

(UPDATE) I created an account. I downloaded Manything to my phone & an old iPad. I created an account. I thought I would use this set up as a security camera. I logged into manything on my phone... I’ll repeat. I am logged into manything on my phone RIGHT NOW... so naturally I went to log in on my old iPad using the same account. On the iPad, it claims the account I am currently logged into on my phone, doesn’t exist. I double checked my credentials. I input the correct email & password, but only one device is recognizing my account. I’ll try again tomarrow, but if I can’t log in on at least 2 devices, manything is useless to me. UPDATED ... 8 hours passed (overnight). Manythings on the iPad now recognizes my account. I’m raising my star review to 3 as the app appears to be functioning well enough, with no issues (so far). I have been able to monitor one room from my phone, I’ll be adding a second room shortly. I don’t anticipate any further connectivity issues like I saw earlier. I’m now mostly satisfied, though I still find Manythings to be lacking. I had hoped to find a Manythings app for AppleTv, so I can monitor multiple rooms from there... without luck. I’m deducting one star for slowness to become usable (a ‘monitor’ without a ‘camera’ is useless. I had to wait overnight to set up a camera for the purpose of monitoring.) I’m deducting one star because there’s no AppleTv app. I’d much rather use my Tv as the monitor I view my informal security camera system from.

Non existent support, TS on my own. Great when it works! It would be great if someone could actually tell me what TS steps I should try vs using my TS experience to isolate the issue on my own. It won’t even allow me to access my account and cameras from the website. Going on 4 mos as of today. I’m sorry I’ve recommended their app to so many people at this point. Deleted & re-downloaded to all devices, deleted my subscription, deleted and re-added my account, worked until I added a second viewer to the account and now I’m back to square one telling me everything is “offline” showing blank viewers, yet sending me motion alerts! You would think that they would want to resolve this bug, but all I’ve gotten is inaccurate statements about my devices, & my connection, and a snarky comment about me not using their platform so there was nothing to TS! lol What is there to use?! I’ve emailed for months that it’s not working… lol accounts are deleted again- I’ll try again another day when I have more time to waste…

Cat savior!. I used this app to turn my garage into a giant cat trap. We set up an iPad pointing at a safe box with some food and a warm blanket. As soon as we saw movement we closed our garage from the outside! Very thankful as we now have our cat “bud” back with us!

Terrible price and features. I have been using this app often on for probably seven years now. As time has gone on, the pricing model has become more and more funky. It’s really hard to know what they’re thinking about here. The price for even a couple of devices is completely outrageous. They need to make this much cheaper and invest in coming up with some new features or a new interface for the app. This app has not changed in any major way in the last seven years. It’s a real shame, you feel like they have dropped the ball and they are just phoning it in at HQ here.

Stolen Devices. I have been using Manything for quite awhile to monitor my driveway for arriving guests and to make use of old iPhone. I was recently robbed and Manything video captured the car used by the thieves. To retain the video, I was able to upgrade easily where my Apple iTunes account will be charged. In moment of crisis, I didn’t even have to get up to get a credit card. I was able to easily email video to sheriff when he requested it. A few days later I had some login problems which were user error (password protected password list was on stolen computer). At 1:30 in morning I received email from Manything support person, which solved my problem. This app is a fantastic use of old iPhone.

Feature request. I would like a feature that allows me to turn the app off and on at a scheduled time. I use the app to watch our front yard which is great until nightfall when it is too dark to see any cause of motion or when interior lights are on the app records the reflection.

Worked fine. Just loaded it on an iPad Pro and iPhone 8 as viewers and on an iPhone 5 as a camera and everything went through without a hitch. I used the viewer on the same WiFi as the camera and then turned off the WiFi on the viewer to check it on cell connection and again all worked great. Now let’s see how long it can run without crashing!

Working great for me. I've been using Manything for a couple of months now to monitor the plants in my office while we're shut down due to the virus. It's been working well for my limited needs. It's really simple to set up and use.

Alerts stopped in iOS 11. **Update** I am receiving alerts now ************ Since the iOS 11 update, I haven’t received Manything alerts on my phone or iPad. Fortunately, I can still open the app and see if there have been any events recorded. Seems to be working OK, just haven’t been getting any alerts. I have been using Manything for over a year. Customer service is very attentive. I started using the app after getting threats on my life. This app made it possible for me to sleep at night. Although the app is less expensive then a home security system, it is a lot more expensive than most other app camera security systems. While I find it more reliable than most, I wish the prices were more competitive.

Love this app. I have used this app in my business and have found people on camera doing things like damaging my property, when you have someone on film you don’t have a he said she said problem. The pictures are clear and leave no questions as to what you are seeing. I also have inferred cameras and the pictures don’t even compare to what I get from my iPhones connected to Manything. Thanks Manything you have saved my businesses property on more then one occasion!

Works well with older phones. I use this app with a couple of 4s’s on iOS 9. The phones have been running 24/7 for over 1 year now without issues. I like that you can view live stream from the app and the web. Overall, a great idea to be able to repurpose older phones. Hopefully in future releases, the developers can provide 720p or even 1080p options.

It's ok.... I thought the app was great at first but I wanted to watch my recording and I had to buy it! I went through so many apps because my twin kids wanted to see santa through a security camera but real security cameras are way to expensive I promised my kids this it would mean the world if u change the price and let me watch my recordings, I rely on you.

Everything I was looking for. Setup was easy and smooth. I was worried as the wi-fi in my house is very unreliable. However, I was very pleasantly surprised in its ability to reconnect seamlessly. I can say that I am extremely satisfied with this app being exactly what I needed.

Worked great until recently. I’ve been using the app for a while and recently upgraded my subscription, after that it now has trouble staying connected to WiFi. I’ve confirmed it’s not an internet issue and the app appears to be operating fine on the recording device.

Have to retract poor review.. I have to retract my earlier poor review of manything. I was out of town for two weeks and left it running on an old iPhone 6s and it worked flawlessly. Highly recommend no glitches at all.

Love it!. I have used the free version for years! Using iPhone and iPad. It does what it says never gave me any problems. I always tell people about it. Great app! I wish there was an option to leave it up to the user to record or not. Other than that it’s so great!

Very reliable. I don’t need 24 7 monitoring, just when I go out of town and want to keep up with the cats Manything has always worked very well and is easy to use

[Updated] No longer working on iPhone 3GS. [Update] When I last tried Manything on my 3GS in November, it would not work, however it appears to be working fine now, not sure what changed. The app has worked well in the past and because of the developers quick response I changed my review to 5 stars. Original review: I have two iPhone 3GSs that I used as cameras for awhile, but it seems that something has broken it on them. They will still send alerts when they detect motion, but I cannot view live video from them anymore. The app can't be updated on iOS 6 anymore, so it's not like an update broke it, it must be a problem on their end. If they can fix it on older phones I will change the review to 4 stars

Puppy Training made SO much easier. We’ve been using this app to help train our puppy when we leave the house. It’s so much more effective to be able to correct bad behavior when it happens instead of when we get home some 5 hours later. The ability with this app to talk to wherever your camera is set up is invaluable. When our puppy starts to tug at the roll of toilet paper, we see it and immediately tell her no. Our puppy stops and finds one of her toys to play with. Thanks to this app, our puppy is on her way to becoming a wonderful, well behaved dog. Thank you!

Works perfectly for what it is. 1. You need some light for motion detection to work. I have one camera looking out a window next to my front door. A dim yellow porch light is enough. 2. You need a good wireless internet connection. Jerky “scrubbing” is likely “crappy connection.” Works great for me. 3. Mounting the phone can be challenging. 4. I use as a backup alert system to other installed cams.

Better than Amcrest. This app have so much better interface than the competition Amcrest, easy to use! On the hardware side it is also better, my personal experience a 40$ iphone 4s already makes better quality video than a more expensive Amcrest camera. If i use newer IPhone the difference is even greater! I'm thinking to change my store cameras for iphones!

IOS 13.4🚫. UPDATE 6/1/20 - The app does not work for me at all. There is no live video at all. There are recordings in my feed but no live video. The recordings are capturing intermittent 8 - 9 second videos even though I have it set to continuously record. I have contacted the app support several times and have received no response. I have been a subscriber of manything for two years and now I am discontinuing my subscription and uninstalling the app. It's useless at this point and they aren't helping. The app no longer works for me since my phone has been updated. The videos frequently go black. There is much lag and sometimes it gets jerky and speeds up. I also have 9s videos even though I have continuous recording set. There was an issue in front of my home I needed on camera and ask the thing caught was 8s of action even though 4 people were in front of the camera moving. Right now on iPhone 11 I cannot contact my other camera to see live footage. It continuously says contacting camera, although the video is still actively recording actions. I cannot see live footage at all. I emailed support and so far have not heard anything in the past four days. It's pointless to have a subscription with no support and unusable video

Awesome app so far!. I’ve only been using the app for 5 days but so far it’s been great. I needed a way to keep an eye on my foster dogs while I’m out of the house and I needed an app that would work on the old iOS on my iPad 2. This app is perfect for my needs. Video is clear and it does a great job at picking up sound and motion events. No issues running it on an old slow device. I use the free version so I can’t watch all the past event recordings but that hasn’t been necessary for me. This app gives me a lot of peace of mind!

Keeps getting better!. I’ve used Manything on iPhone 4/4S/5/6 - It’s been a good solution, but sometimes it would drop the connection. However, with the latest versions the reliability has been much improved. I currently have 5 cameras around the house and feel it’s more dependable than ever.

Easy. There is an tutorial only thing waiting for response is want to add more cameras can follow tutorial or buy subscription so happy can afford! Yes! I hope I can connect camera that I’ve paid for and are getting dusty from lack of use👍👍 finally!

Awesome Product. I’ve been a Manything customer for years. This is a fantastic way to increase your security and use old devices sitting around collecting dust. Being able to monitor your home from anywhere is awesome!!

Great. I have been using this for close to a year on two iPhones (5c & 5s) I have the 5c disguised outside on a covered porch and the 5s is inside. I have been very impressed with everything. The app is stable. I have only had to reboot the phones maybe 3 times each. I have not had any issues checking footage from another app or PC. I have contacted customer service once or twice and they were responsive and helpful. For the money the 2-cam, 2-day subscription is worth every penny. More days are saved and available online if needed which is a little added peace of mind. Alerts work well, though I've turned them off. Motion detection is consistent, I have or pointed towards the street and it captures every car in the exact same spot each time. Plays well with IFTTT so you can do custom things like "turn of the inside camera when I get home", "turn in the smart porch light when motion is detected", "turn on all cameras when I leave home", etc.. All in all 7/7 would buy again, is a good use of old phones. Requires some thought and setup to get the phones mounted and charging where you might want them.

Recording works half the time. I experimented with the motion detection, but it wasn't sensitive enough for my needs. It could be because the location was a little too dark. I used the continuous recording option, but would check to see that it missed 3-4 hours and sometimes 10 minute gaps in between recordings. Super inconsistent and very annoying. Also when I go to "contact us" it says I don't have "email installed on this device". Strike three. Deleting this.

iPad as camera stopped working. Several friends and I tried to use our iPads as the camera and view the live streaming on our phones, but the live viewing wasn’t working/connecting. We finally switched it where we had our iphones act as the camera and watched the live viewing using the iPad. I’m not sure why this setup has changed, but it’s a little inconvenient to have to leave your phone as the camera and carry around an iPad.

Great idea, but terrible outcome.. This app is a great idea. Turning any old phone or tablet into a ho e security camera. Very nice idea. This app does have a few problems though. 1. This app kinda lied about the supported devices. For instance, I wanted to use my very nice iPhone 3GS as a home security camera and it was running iOS 6.1 and it should be supported with this app. Turns out, it’s not. In the app description it says that you can use any device with iOS 6 or later but when trying to download the app, a notification said that I needed iOS 8. Very disappointing. 2. Payment. At first I thought this was the greatest thing ever. I thought the app was free or you would make a one time payment when you buy the app. But I was wrong. You actually need to pay for how many days you want to use this app. (Sort of like a phone bill) it’s very annoying. So that’s why this app deserves a 2 Star Review. It’s a good app idea, but it’s also terrible.

No more free viewing. Up until my last one month subscription expired, you had a few hours to review recorded video without upgrading. No more! Now you must pay to see any video, even of it was recorded one second prior. And at $3.99 for just one device, that gets expensive. May be time to get a real camera that can record in the dark, which is something this can’t do.

Swing and a miss. Amazingly, this appears to be the only app on the entire iOS platform that allows you to trigger Video recording with sound… I was looking for something to document noisy neighbors that I could leave running and would only record the loud noises. Well, that part of it worked perfectly. And then I tried to listen to what I recorded. You have to have a subscription to even listen to video where you record it on your own phone. They do not allow you to store it locally, you MUST upload it to their server, so they’re justified in charging you a subscription, which you then must cancel when you decide you don’t want it, you can’t just buy a fixed number of days. Therefore this app costs close to $100 a year to use. I would happily pay a couple bucks, even more than a couple bucks, as a one time payment, to be able to record video triggered by noise and document my noisy neighbors. But there’s no reason for me to have to sign up for an account and upload my private video to the cloud, let alone pay a recurring subscription charge over and over again, for something that I just need to be able to play back on my phone. That’s absurd and greedy, and makes this almost-useful app completely useless to me.

Used during California forest fire. This app has been a life saver! I set up an old iPhone 6+ in my back yard during a very scary time as a forest fire was closing in on my neighborhood. I was able to watch from a safe distance with my family and able to give the whole neighborhood updates through the next few days. When all was said an done the neighborhood and our house were fine but it sure took the stress of not knowing what was going on off of us.

Great for what I need, but not perfect. I got this app so that I can keep an eye on my 3D printer to make sure the print is coming out well. The remote flashlight function is great so that I don’t have to keep a light on all the time, and the clarity is good enough so that I know what’s going on. My main complaint (which is pretty minor) is that the recording disconnects every few minutes, even on the continuous recording mode (both when connected and not connected) which means if I want to download a video longer than just a few minutes (like for a time lapse) then I’d have to figure out how to combine multiple clips. I was hoping that paying for a subscription would improve the quality, but I just have to do any time lapses separate from the app. Again, not a big deal, this app is great for what I was looking for

Great but…. Delayed

Works alright. Careful with unauthorized charges.. Turned off subscription auto renew well before the next billing date. Still got charged. Had to call iTunes support to have the charges reversed— they confirmed that I had in fact stopped auto renewal over a week before the next billing date. This amounts to theft.

Needs to be investigated. This app keeps charging me from my account, it's impossible to contact anybody,and cannot get a refund.it continues to charge me even tho I do not have an account with them

Great app but no audio from Bluetooth headphones. I like this app but have a problem with Bluetooth headphones. If I’d like to listen to music while I’m using the app, all audio will be played from speaker of my phone. Please fix this issue.

Works well. Manything works well. The only issue I have is that, in viewer mode, audio is really quiet because it comes through the earpiece instead of the main speakers. It also doesn’t work with bluetooth headphones, although it does work with wired headphones.

IFTTT. Finally a security app with IFTTT support, thank you!

Simple and works. Have tried many of these security video apps and most crash frequently or just don't work. Motion detect works well and you can set movement sensitivity. You can also set video quality. Running on iPhone4 and a Galaxy Tab as cameras and an iPhone6+ as viewer and performance and quality so far pretty darn good, highly recommended.

Great app. Great app , if only you could record footage to a local nas drive , it would then be perfect.

Sound doesn’t work over Bluetooth. As above. Camera sound doesn’t work over blue tooth headphones. Pretty much a given on any app. Please fix this.

Brilliant. I use this app to monitor my pet at home. Works really well. I can view the camera on my browser as well. Would love to see an option allowing one to communicate with your voice back to the place the camera is set up.

Great iOS CCTV. I’ve been looking for an app that can turn my iOS devices into home monitoring cameras. I’ve used many apps of similar nature, by far this one has the clearest and simplest interface and is the most stable.

Great home Monitor. We all have an iPad or an old iPhone that lies around - this app makes them an awesome remote controllable camera with motion detection alerts. Great app!!!

Simple surveillance design by PROs. I have used this app for 2 weeks now and I must say it took me 5 minutes to setup without reading any instructions. Footage review is also easy, the timeline has a visual representation of motion detected throughout the recording which enable users to visually summarise the number of motion detected on the recording. Many corporate surveillance software that I have dealt with doesn't have this feature. Ou can only click to skip to the next incident. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up and nothing less.

It does a perfect job!. I spent a long time looking for an app to turn my old iPhone into a home monitor. This is by far the most reliable app I've come across. Works across multiple iPhones. Simply perfect.

Rubbish. Performance viewing sessions and events is so bad the only people who could wait are 90 year olds with nothing else to do.

New update issues. The newest update was supposed to make the viewable video are larger but now it doesn't fit screen. Also have issues connecting to stream site for long periods of time.

Incredible. This app is absolutely amazing. I am able to use my old iPhone to keep an eye on my garage at all times. I get a notification every time the camera detects movement, I can set it to record only when there's motion, and I can even remotely toggle the flashlight! Just brilliant!

Not For Me. After trial period all you get is live streaming and email notification, so unless you want sit and stare at a screen all day or pay for storage, it is pretty much useless. Should be able to store a few hours on your device. Will be removing it from my devices.

Great app, needs a little work.. I'll start with the positives. Great app for one, nice ui, well designed. The simplicity and ease of use is very good, you'll be quickly set up in about five minutes. Now for the negatives. I wish the "viewer" could be full screen for one. It would be nice to offer some free iCloud storage. I understand there needs to be money made but the price points are a little steep. In conclusion, great app, download it and you'll be happy. Make the changes I suggest and the app will be five stars.

It’s great. Caught my wife cheating

Keeps getting better.. It was a wee bit of work optimizing my two old iPhones for power consumption, but their instructions were easy to follow. Once I got it set up right it has been a better security camera system than my old laptop/usb cam setup. Over two months without interruption so far and an iPhone can survive longer power outages than a laptop. The "live" is about 30 seconds delayed in my case. Not as quick as Jumi but it does the trick. I see the new version shows the battery level and that the charger is on. Maybe the next version will push a notification for power outages and/or low battery? Thumbs up on their customer support.

Great app and fast support. What a great way to repurpose old devices! Super simple to configure, works as advertised and I really like the IFTTT integration. For example, start recording when arriving home, and stop when I get back. Finally, their support is awesome: got a reply within the hour and my problem was fixed!

Peace of mind. Will eventually cave and buy cameras with HKSV support, but for now it allows me to easily turn old iPhones into cameras when needed. The cost is reasonable considering I only pay for the month when it’s needed.

Love this app!. Well designed & fair price for when I need it. Would love to see an AppleTV app, as well as the ability to view multiple live cameras on one screen at a time. Otherwise, very reliable push notifications etc. Thank you!

ManyCrapp!. Recommend you don’t waste your time. Utter garbage, buggy, undependable, login problems - just doesn’t work and certainly not worth the frustration.

Bait and switch. I avoid updating apps these days because so often, developers like this one, take the opportunity to bait you and then, with an update, steal away the core functionality of the program you researched carefully before acquiring. They force on you something you didn’t sign up for and do not want in the name of greed. If you are seeing this app now, for the first time, you won’t be aware of what was actually promised to users in the past. If you agree to pay the exorbitant prices because you have not found the excellent competing apps like Presence, then give this app a try and simply cancel the subscription when you come to your senses. Have you discovered that Apple and developers are colluding by making cancellation difficult through buried or obscure “Cancel” button placement and lack of prominent or even accessible instruction? Why not get your credit card company to issue a chargeback. Until we fight back, those who break trade law will not change.

Solid app. Should allow to launch app remotely

I NEED ASSISTANCE PLEASE. I had downloaded the app, bc it said free trial, but it didn’t offer it once it was downloaded. It also seamed really confusing how to set it up, what phones are compatible etc. Could someone from customer service or tech. Help?

Great little app!. Very Impressed with this little app ! Work exactly as promoted. We lost a hamster in the house and within a minute, I had an account setup and this little app was able to help us find him during the night before the dog got to him in the morning ! LOL... Great job guys ! I’m sure I will use this again in the very near future and will be sure that I promote this great app ! Thank you !!!

Options have changed. App works great, super easy to setup and use. After a month you can no longer view captured video and must subscribe to a monthly fee. If you don't subscribe, you can see live video and receive motion alerts only. Too bad.

Great App. This is a very good app when coupled with the service. It is an excellent way to recycle old iPhone and iPods. The setup is dead easy and so far the streaming has been excellent. Since is it still free I can’t comment on any price issues but I am sure that it will be worth it as the company grows. To date I can’t find anything that I don’t like about Anything.

Best app I have. Lots of apps can show you what others are doing but Manything connects you to what's really important... Your own things.

Suggestion. Great app, works well but please add support for Google Home. This would make this app even better

Used to be good. Now broken. I used this app 8 years ago with an old iPhone to look in on my cottage basement to check for flooding.The beauty of the app was that it was free to use and you could use an old iPhone. Now with a required expensive monthly subscription, you’re better off just buying an Internet connected camera. There’s no longer a point to this app.

Lag. There is quite a noticeable lag between recording device and viewing device. It would also be nice to have an option to not store video in the cloud drive. Sometimes I just want to monitor something and have no need to save it.

Really great app!. I have used this app for a couple of months now and I just had to write a review, it is very much deserved. I wanted to monitor any activity on our property and purchased and trialed Flir FX, it was $ 270 + and it was hit and miss whether or not it picked up activity. I purchased RING and it only had a range of 30 feet and I needed aprox. 100 feet. Along came the free Manything app that I came across online when I was looking for more camera options. Thought it was worth a try since the creators are smart enough to give you a free 1 week trial. It was awesome! It caught everything that I was aware of and everything that I was not. It doesn't have the 100 feet range all the time but when the object (vehicle) came close enough to the house at about 75 feet, it started recording! The cost per month is less than pennies per day compared to the other 2 that I tried out. And the ability to set the sensitivity yourself to pickup small to large movements - perfect! I don't need to see the squirrel every time he runs across the lawn but I want to see the truck come down my driveway! And, my unused iPod works better than the 2 pricey devices, what could be better? Oh yes, add to all that the prompt helpful customer service, this more than deserves my 5 star rating. Great App!. I’ve been using Manything for the last 4.5 years to watch my cat when I’m away but also my apartment incase my landlord does some shady business. It’s really cheap to subscribe to when you need it and cancel when you don’t. I love that you can change the settings on the viewer phone for the camera phone and how you can select either full video or just a frame every couple seconds to save data. You can also set it to start recording on movement which then send a notification to you. It’s worked wonders for me and helps ease my stress of leaving my cat alone for a bit. I use my old iPhone as the camera and just leave it plugged in. It’s way cheaper than a actual security setup. I’ve had a couple issues with not being able to download or share videos through the app but Manything support was great and helped me work out the issue. Great customer service! Highly recommend…

Roll your own home security system. With an older model iPhone used as a security camera I can monitor my home from anywhere and get motion alerts when the camera detects movement. Well worth the monthly fee to store one weeks worth of data in case you need video evidence. Why pay a security company $50/month when you can do it yourself for ~$5 month ? Great app 5 stars.

Great. Simple easy to use and understand. Sensitive and eve detect sunlight as movement And it's free! Just wonder if phone will die with the continuous charging. Guess ur not supposed to use it for long term security solution anyway. More like temporary monitoring...

Amazing remote camera app. I'm using two iPhones as cameras and able to monitor either one from app installed on third phone, or from computer and website. You can also send voice messages to play out loud through phone. Has been very useful to watch young adult dog home during day.

Works exactly as advertised!!. This program is great! It works exactly as advertised and is super easy to set up. It even has motion zones on the camera, so you don't get alerts for things that don't matter. If only the monthly service was lower. I would definitely use it. The free version has all the functionality except for saving videos for longer that 4 hrs. Really a must have if you have an old working phone that's not in use.

It’s great! Just one question.. If my phone is running off of data and I’m someplace else, can I still watch my phone at my house which is connected to my home wifi? I don’t have data, just wondering if I should get data to watch my house. Please reply.

I cant find how to unsubscribe. First, I downloaded the app and I didn’t have the 5 days trial. So, I registered for 1 month of use to see if it fits to my needs. Although the app works great as it is described, I am not able to keep one cellphone as a camera right now. So, I decided to unsubscribe, but I would be willing to use the app again in the future. But I cant unsubscribe. It is not clear how I should do it. I am searching everywhere, and if there is a place to do it, it is hidden.

Awesome app!. Wow! What excellent design. What wonderful ease of use. I'm in awe already, and just started using this today across 3 Ipads to secure my home while I am travelling. Everything works perfectly so far, including email alerts. Doing all this must not have been easy to create, especially across multiple platforms. This company should win design prizes for their efforts...just so intuitive. Thank you.

Easy, Simple, Cheap. I've tried other systems and with this I didn't even need to buy a new camera I could use my old phone camera or my ipad, very useful and user friendly when keeping an eye on my pet, I use it through motion detection, it's a perfect app, love it. Those who don't like it are those selling cameras I think :P or selling stuff people dont want or need haha :P

Great start. Just spent an hour playing with the app. Works well. A bit rough around the edges, but works as advertised.

Exactly what I needed!. I have a very sick senior cat that I’ve been stressing about leaving alone recently. I wanted to be able to check in and make sure she’s okay when I’m not home. This was so easy to just download and instantly use. I watched her for hours today, and when she started crying I spoke to her through the app and she calmed down. I’m very thankful for this app and will definitely pay for the upgrade because I want to support the makers. I don’t need the extra features but I’m super grateful. I would like to confirm that it’s secure though - otherwise apparently people can hack into it. I didn’t buy a security camera because of that issue.

Why no free trial ?. App seems to be of good quality. However, there is no free trial option to view motion detected recordings on the cloud. Can’t purchase unless I know it’s suitable for me.

Great app. As the other reviewer said, needs a few tweaks. A really great surveillance app for free. After 4 days, even being left plugged in, the battery on my iPad died, so one thing that would be great is being able to set up shut down times if you don't need to run it 24/7.

Good however. After the recent update, the sound is no longer working while continuously recording. Doesn't matter how strong of the connection is, there is just no sound. I'm using this as my primary baby monitor camera, but it defeats the purpose when I cannot hear my baby. So it was a five star review, now it's going to be 2 until this issue is resolved.

Best I have used. I've tried a few of these type of apps and had nothing but issues. But ManyThing is the first one that just works! Seems very well done.

Over priced. Way way way over priced cloud support .. no option to use any other cloud .. cool app but big fail ...

excellent. i’ve been using manything for a while now, and find it totally reliable and very easy to use. added bonus is that there is a free version to try, and i find the paid version is set at a very reasonable price. it offers good personalization options - so yes .. i would definitely recommend this app.

so far so good. My rental company has been doing a ton of maintenance and workers are coming and going fairly regularly so I wanted some sort of surveillance while at work. I love that continuous mode allows live streaming and that the video quality can be raised or lowered, and that more than one device can be used at once (although you must pay a higher price for additional cameras). Motion detection recording appears to have good response time, however I don’t know yet if there are any limitations.

IPad constantly goes offline. Unfortunately I am being forced to delete the app. Every single day, my iPad goes offline and I have to constantly connect it to the internet even though is connected to a high speed internet.

Great app for spying on my doggies. I love this app for checking up on my dogs during the day.

Eh.... While the app is a great concept and gives a use for old phones, tablets etc. the execution of the services is unreliable and inconsistent. Do not rely on this app as a sole source for monitoring your home. Could and should be used in addition to a more reliable system.

Not good anymore.. I had enjoyed this for a while but now you can’t even replay the last video. You have to subscribe to view the last video it recorded. The subscription for this a month is steep. You should only pay one price and that’s it, not pay a monthly subscription. It’s a rip-off.

Manything rocks. This app is so good. 90% as good as a 6000$ commercial install, for free or 10$ if you need lots of cams. Highly flexible. We use it to monitor the boat, workshop, and home when we’re on vacation. Amazing product.

Doesn’t work. Seemed like a good deal but the features just don’t work. No videos show on my phone using the app so I tried online using a pc. It showed the videos but it plays a blank screen. Sad to cancel subscription only after 2 days.

Don’t get it. So, you have to pay to watch the recordings? I get it if you wanted to watch it from another device but not for the device used as the camera. Total waste of time.

Cameras disappeared. "Camera" mode has disappeared from all my devices without doing anything. Can't find support on or offline.

Not worth the hassle. This company is pretty much run by two people who won’t return phone calls or do much of anything. Even though I was paying for the service the app wouldn’t allow me to access my cloud video. The app would constantly drop the connection and can’t auto connect so my camera would be off until I reset on the second device. Not worth the hassle.

Wonderful app. 1. Account creation is shockingly easy 2. Customization is perfect for many uses, such as zone and sound detection, remote camera switching, flashlight, etc. 3. The free version is fully functional, no ads or halfway-unlocked live features 4. The paid plans are worth it, I have the two camera, two day recording setup 5. Very intuitive and easy to use In short, I have had no issues and I am thoroughly impressed!

Almost perfect. So I use the app with an old iPod to watch my car in the parking lot. Works well with one exception.....I am not able to delete all clips using my iPad (5th Gen) and IOS 11.1.2. I can delete each one individually but not all. Very frustrating.

Awful consistently “ off line”. First tried free version to check it out before purchasing. Unfortunately , you can not count on this , consistently “ off line” even when everything else in the house is on line . Not a good app at all

Good but needs help. Works great for the most part it’s just one bug that’s frustrating and almost make me not want to use this app anymore. Randomly some of the camera settings don’t appear. Camera on/off, still mode, mute, flashlight, etc. don’t show up.

Used to be great, now it's worthless. I used to love this app! For a while now, the camera keeps going offline and automatically switches to viewer all by itself. It literally refuses to stay connected even though my wifi works great. I have to find a different company because this app is worthless to me now and is no longer dependable.

Live mode disappeared. I’ve been using a 4S as a camera for years. Updated the software today and live viewing is impossible from my iPhone 8 with updated app. Viewer says camera is offline — not true. Additional trial with 5S as a camera was successful.

Live mode not working. I’ve used this app for years and love it! But the last update for iOS 14 has broken the app. Live mode does not work and only posts still shots of motion. I used this app as security for my home and also for my business and it’s useless now. I have sent a few emails asking for help but have heard nothing back. Please get this app working again.

Works well, easy, smooth. It works as advertised and really helps monitor my cats and worked in a pinch. Billing was straightforward and scales.

Change of terms. They keep decreasing what you get for what you pay for. I'm down to 2 days of saved cloud space for 5$ a month.

They have a known bug. The app crashed non stop, it will not run more then a 2 days without stopping. I’ve messaged them multiple times and they know of the issue but don’t have the fix. Instead they keep upgrading me .. it’s worthless without a means to record.

Love the stills mode. This app has been great for me for what seems like years. I use mostly the stills mode.

Good people. They have great Customer Service. This organization has pleasantly surprised me; in the world of social media and so many choices... I know that Manything is my 1st choice. Thank you all so much! ~Andy

10 second delay. That’s how bad the delay is. How useful is that? Can’t even turn off the display nor turn off recording. Manything goes on the list of useless many things.

Still no support for zoom camera?. Crazy after all this time it still does allow zooming using second camera on Plus phones

Perfect with the right price. It works well and it’s always streaming. I love that this is free to use.

Power consumption. It’s a good idea, I really think it is! But the app has several problems, the load time to see what the cam sees is sooooo long, if it loads at all! I don’t know what it takes so long, since it’s pulling so much power even my fast charger can’t keep up with it! Phone gets pretty hot for being so slow to load

Camera doesn’t reactivate if WiFi temporarily interrupted. If WiFi goes out and comes back on the cameras need to be manually reactivated. Makes it rather useless if you’re away from home which is the whole purpose of the cameras. Appears to be a problem only with iPhones, according to their FAQs. Trying now to find another app where this problem doesn’t happen.

High hopes, dead end. Looked promising but app crashes every time I try to view a video. The website is Jim also, tested with Chrome and Firefox. The camera runs fine on a bunch of old iPhone 4S, but that useless if the viewer doesn’t work.

Used to be so great!. Now the devs got greedy with money and the app does nothing but crash on my 4S, its no longer reliable and had to sadly stop using it. I have been using this app since the very beginning, sad i have to let it go:-(

Great Response. I use a couple of retired iPhones and it works perfectly. Terrific support if something goes wrong. 5.4.1 takes advantage of iPhoneX full screen. Highly recommended!

Developers are ALL OVERPAID!!!. You’ve seriously GOT to be kidding me with this app! I have the LATEST VERSION INSTALLED, & YET when I open it, I get the default message that I NEED TO UPGRADE. So for 💩’s & giggles I click on THEIR LINK for the “update,” only to be brought back to the Apple store link for his app.... the app that is already UPDATED & installed. Here we go round and round again in circles because some moron took a aft by night class in app development. Get your act together for the love of Christ!

Loved it when it was free. Once I started tatted to pay for 5 devices then it would always kick out 2 of them after a few minutes. It could be the devices but I doubt it. They worked fine individually on free accounts and when I use other sites then it works just fine.

Latest Update needs modification. Nothing serious, just a nuisance. When opening the app, it doesn’t return to last mode, which is usually Viewer mode. It used to open up all the way to the active phone being used as Camera. So now when I get a motion alert, I tap the alert, and the app opens as if it’s the very first time it’s being opened. I have to select “Viewer”, then select whichever phone that was set up as a “Camera” and is online. I haven’t found a setting to control this. Thanks for a great app.

Update is a HUGE fail! Deleting forever. Updated the app and now I can no longer view any recordings without a minimum $3.99 subscription. 😢Plus the app has always been a little buggy, but now it fails frequently! First time out it disconnected from the internet and went straight to storage so I got NOTHING. No live broadcast and a forced subscription. Deleting and won’t be back

Really bad resolution. Look for other apps.. I tried it thinking I can use an old iPhone 6s as a camera but the resolution was bad and motion detection did not work, could have bought a subscription but not wasting my money on something like that.

Can you please fix the audio issue with Bluetooth?. Love the app but when using Bluetooth headphones the audio gets transferred away from my headphones to the phone speaker and plays over podcasts or music.

Shuts down. Worked perfectly until iOS 12 came out. Now program stops recording after about 20 minutes when using guided access on iPhone or other apple device. Developer does not have fix for this yet.

Works great. Installed it on my old iPhone 4, no problems at all.

Beware Reoccurring Billing. The app interface is designed to make it nearly impossible to cancel your account. It is ever so easy to upgrade from the app. But if you want to cancel, good luck. The subscription is either managed in your phones iCloud settings or from the iTunes Store app. Where you can cancel chambers changes with iOS updates. Good luck finding it. This is more than bad UX. This is akin to nutritional supplement subscription scams.

Doesn’t work right. I tried using this app for a couple months and canceled it. It sometimes would work and other times stop recording. I canceled my subscription but they are still trying to take my money. I canceled my card to stop them.

Crashes, very buggy. Find a better app that does similar things without constantly crashing. I used it as a pet monitor and it crashes unexpectedly while I’m out of the house, rendering it ineffective at the wrong time.

Gave them 1 star... And uninstalling.. The free version used to allow viewing events for 24 hours after event was triggered. Now all of a sudden ZERO. Becomes 100% useless and worthless unless you fork over cash. I will uninstall as soon as I get back home this weekend.

Pay or else. I found that, after recording a few minutes of video, for the first time, the next day I had to pay to see even one more second of video. SCAM!

Worked great at first. Worked great for a few months, I paid for a sub and then was told this app was not going to work anymore and to download another app that I didn’t want. Just cancelled everything and don’t get why this app is still being offered here.

Great app, better support. Does not work on my iPhone 6 anymore after updated to IOS11. When I go to my cameras shows only this device and I can not add a remote camera because does not have that option.
