The Best Military Newspaper. The Stars and Stripes is without question the best source of military news by service members for service members. I started reading the Stars and Stripes on my first overseas tour and now it’s my favorite newspaper.

Awesome. 20 year on active duty being overseas so many time S&S was my only connection to what was going on back home and American life.

Retired AF Officer. I’m a digital subscriber who used to be overseas (Europe) and subscribed to Stars and Stripes. Upon returning to US in 2007, I’ve continued my subscription because I want to keep up on news covering overseas bases. I enjoy the paper and it’s coverage. I think this is the best way to stay in touch with our military and what’s going on where they serve.

“ Still a primary source of news”. We were stationed in Japan throughout the 1970s. The stars and stripes were a major source of news and information while we were stationed there and continues to be a major source of news and information for me to this day.

News that is worth writing about!. Stars and Stripes news is always interesting and to the point. They let the Military community know everything that is going on around the world. Keeping us abreast of threats and potential violence that can engulf our Nation at any time or place. Our Military is strong and with Stars and Stripes it shall remain strong and ready for any event anywhere in the world.

Thank you Stars and Stripes. During 33 years of service I cannot count the number of times my morale was lifted by a copy of S&S. So much so the S&S is the only paper I subscribe to living now OCONUS. They have the articles I enjoy reading keeping me up to date on issues I follow and the services I love. We Americans are in good hands when it comes to getting the truth as long as S&S is still printing. Thank YOU Stars and Stripes for your continued service to our country. Poor way of stars and stripe to try and take your money. There used to be the .99 cents stars and strips app that let you read it all for free. Now they they want to manipulate you in taking your money with this new stars and stripe app. It is a crime of fraud the way they do it. I highly recommend do not be a victim of them taking your money. If I could give negative stars I would. Also used to you could read more of articles un the app. Now they make it limited. They need to at least make the app free to all new customers that down load this appp since you can no longer read all the articles. But at least you can go to google and retype the article to read it that way for free.

Losing the ends of sentences...... Ever since the last upgrade two weeks ago, at least 4-5 paragraphs stop without finishing the .......... Reported error but no response.

Not a military person. I like Stars and Stripes for the perspective it gives me as someone outside of the military and military life and news.

Informative. It keeps me up to date on what is happening across the total military. I’ve been a fan since back when it was the only news when I was in Vietnam in 69-70.

Support the Stars & Stripes. There is very little associated with the military that has such a wide spread, overwhelmingly positive reputation than the Stars & Stripes. It does not matter what branch you served in, what your rank was or when you served; the Stars & Stripes has always been something that we could count on to connect us to home. The digital version is quality work. It has quickly become my #1 news source. I bought a subscription just to support it. I will keep it because it is amazing.

Written by military people.. Since I discovered Stars and Stripes in 1965, they provide current events to the troops. Their editorial slant has always been pro-my-boss yet balanced enough to produce meaningful dialogue. I love it because I feel a connection to the troops on the ground in harm's way every hour of every day. We must remember every day what we demand every day. Pick up a digital subscription today.

Stars and Stripes. I love reading free issues of this, it’s a great app and the best out there reporting news of US Military Forces. Was looking to subscribe, to app, but after reading subscription, realized ordinary civilians weren’t eligible. Very disappointed.

Excellent source of straightforward news. I love Stripes because it not only keeps me informed about military news, but also provides straightforward reporting on world and US events. No packing in a message or angle. Just facts.

The only news for the Military family. I have been reading S&S since I was a young Marine in the late 80’s. Always a great resource for truth in Military News coverage.

Reaction to Woodstock concert by Vietnam veteran. Opening the Stars and Stripes center fold showing Woodstock concert while in combat gave me a feeling of disappointment. I would like to obtain this article and can’t seem to be able to get it? Can Stars and Stripes verify the article existed or was it just my imagination?

Excellent, even-handed, real journalism.. Their news is well-researched, and always well written. There’s no political positioning here. They tell things as they are. It’s a refreshing journalistic breath of fresh air!

Balanced & Unbiased. Leading the way for balanced and unbiased reporting. When these media experts eventually enter civilian life I hope they stay true to form and gift society with balanced reporting.

Save the Stars and Stripes!!!. The Stars and Stripes has been a fixture in my life as far back as I can remember, 65+ years. I was aware of it at a young age when my dad would bring home copies when we were stationed with him overseas. During my career in the US Air Force the Stars and Stripes was always available at military installations around the world no matter how remote the location, and some of them were very remote. Even with the availability of thousands of on-line news sources, the Stars and Stripes is the most enduring and balanced source of US news and always feels like part of home. It will be as sad day if the Stars and Stripes were canceled. I am sure the DoD Comptroller can find $15.5 million in the $700 billion+ DoD budget to fund the Stars and Stripes. The DOD typically allow billions of prior year funding to expire because it has not been spent in a timely manner. With better funds management finding $15.5 million in the vast DoD budget is not a difficult effort.

The best source for military news. Whether you’re active duty, reserves, or just interested in the happenings of America’s military, there’s no better source than Stars and Stripes. Regardless of branch, the coverage is timely, accurate, and well written. I cannot recommend this app enough, especially for members of the service and their families.

Excellent paper. The Stars and Stripes has been an excellent paper which I have relied on since I first read it in 1971. It provides a critical viewpoint relevant to the uniformed services not found in other newspapers.

The important issue. The knowledge veteran soldiers need to confronting today’s threats from legislative actions and presidents from Lessing the responsibility that we were promised ! News Worthy. This is the ONLY place Americans can get real, actual information on where & what our troops are doing. The main stream media ignores most of this information! Thank you & keep up the great work you do!

Current News That Really matters.. Stars and Stripes continues to be the most current news, reliable, truthful, and non-partisan news that matters most to our troops and their families. This has been true since it’s inception ever since World War 2. What a magnificent and marvelous “fact based” and “truth telling “ journalistic achievement. The Stars and Stripes is an irreplaceable news source in both peace and war. Pray that it never ever gets politicized. It would be a travesty if it did.

Accurate Reporting. In these days of “yellow journalism”, I can always depend on Stars and Stripes for accurate, fact-based, reporting. Thank you for holding up the highest standards of the US military.

Biased reporting. Stars & Stripes is driven by political bias instead of objective journalism. They use sources like API and Washington Post and it appears, from my perspective, they are underhandedly are using their military reach to drive a wedge between the military and our President. It has been going on for decades and underscores why my tax dollars should not be used to fund them. Apolitical reporting and objective journalism are dead, including Stars & Stripes. Linking an increased threat from nuclear weapons politically with the President is absurd!

Glad to find you again. I haven’t read the S & S since I was in Germany in the 1980’s. Very pleased to have access again and see what’s happening in the world from a different perspective. Keep up the great work and thank you for being there for us!

Military News Not Found Elsewhere!. I am a USMC veteran, married to a Viet Nam veteran Navy Hospital Corpsman. We live in San Diego, so we are very interested in military news stories. Stars and Stripes never disappoints! Well worth reading daily!

Review. I have been reading S&S for more than 60 years (yes, I come from an Army family) and it is so much more than just a news source. It is my hometown newspaper. I my morning would not be complete without the S&S. Thank you.

Political bias. This paper should not be republishing opinions such as the Washington Post article. You disrespect the military when back an article saying the current Commander in Chief should be “dragged out of the White House. Your paper survives to support the military structure not undermine. You need to be more mindful of Constitutional procedure when writing about the president elect. Be mindful of the current CinC in the military structure. Chief (ret)

World news. Great source for updates on military moves around the world. As a former military career person I read it with great interest.

I.S, Forces status. Stars and Stripes provides excellent inside out information/news on U.S. forces. The granular detail and insights into to status of our uniformed members of the armed services, is not found in other news sources.

Clear & concise news. I seek news reporting the number of news sites that report facts sans opinions are few and far between. I go to Stars & Stripes for facts, and how this impacts our military.

News for Vets/anyone. If you like an honest mix of what’s not so good but also what’s really good about our world this is a good source. Sometimes a couple feel good articles can really lift the spirits. If you’ve ever put yourself on the line for your country and you happen to read this please know that help is always available for you. Speaking from experience, the VA will help you if you let them. Scouts out.

Balanced news coverage. As it has been for many years, the Stars & Stripes is a very good source for balanced news, as well as military related issues. It also has a section on high school sports at overseas schools. The iPhone app is easy to use.

More fake news. Amazes me, how this Marxist rag can continue the spin of the cnn, msdnc, cbs, pbs, abc, and nbc. If you’re looking for the truth try the smaller outlets, rsbn, newsmax, OANN, America’s voice, Red Pilled America podcast, Dennis PragerU. The truth is out there, just a little more effort to reach. The SS newspaper used to be respected, I read it for 20 plus years, and recently subscribed. Very disappointed in how Marxist it has become. Tried entering with a five star, maybe the review will post.

Good journalism. I am reading Stars and Stripes for many years now and have to say this is what I understand under unbiased Journalism. Your publication is extremely informative as well. I am ex-military (Luftwaffe) from Germany residing in Canada.

Awesome. As a Canadian military dependant while my father was stationed in Soest Germany 1967-1971, I had the opportunity to deliver the Stars and Stripes newspaper to many military families in our living quarters. I even remember when President Bobby Kennedy was assassinated and when customers picked up their paper they were crying. I also joined the military and served 32 plus years, also with US troops in Bosnia and Syria. Always loved the S&S, and read it faithfully online each morning. 😎🇨🇦

Washington post. Too much from this left slanted paper in this paper. One article referred to our great president as a toddler. Gets some balanced news or I won’t be renewing.
