SO CONVENIENT!!. Man, thinking back on the way we did it before when traveling with my wife’s siblings… what a logistical nightmare. Splittr is dead easy. The free version works fine, but being able to log amounts in different currencies (not to mention removing the ads) makes paying for the paid version worth it. Plus, this is the kind of useful app you feel is worth rewarding the developer for making. Try the free version to start. It’s amazing!!

Perfect Group Travel tool!. I have used this app since 2017 for traveling with friends. It is the perfect tool since cabs, meals and activities involved different subgroups. We could look who was most “in the hole” to decide who would pick up the check. I highly recommend it!

Great for girls trips!. We’ve been using this app for several years on our girls beach trip with anywhere from 4 to over a dozen friends. Works great to split boat rides, groceries, dinners, cabanas, lodging, rental cars, etc. we just enter each expense, who paid, and who benefited from that purchase. At the end of the week we settle up so quickly because of this app! Anyone that still owes usually end up just owing one person so it makes settling up quick and painless! Wouldn’t do a group trip without it!!

Great app. Just came back from a week in Nashville with a group of 6 (2 we’re a couple, the other 4 single) taking turns buying rounds, dinner, tickets etc. Typed in the expenses, who participated, who paid and boom it was done. Easy to name each expense and the app auto fills date and time entered. At the end the app figured out how much everyone spent and who owed who. I liked how you can change the weighted shares for different expenses. For example an Uber costs the same for a couple or a single so as we had a couple we could adjust for that type of situation. Already set up my trip to Spain and live how the app converts Euros to Dollars.

Simplifies big family vacations. I have found the app most useful for big vacations where there are excursions to pay for. One off dinners that aren’t included. Especially useful because not every person does every event so having the power to only include some people in the expense is fantastic.

Excellent. Three generations of family traveling to a foreign destination is complicated. Splitter makes it easy to portion out meal costs for drinkers vs non-drinks, kids meals vs adult meals, surfboard rentals vs fishing boat rentals… spa appointments, airline tickets, house rentals, groceries… EVERYTHING goes on the Splitter and everyone has access so there is total transparency. Love the photo/receipt options. No complaints here!

Awesome App. Splittr is the easiest app to keep track of single or shared expenses. Easy to use and edit. Love how it converts foreign currency to see where you are at on the fly, then easy to modify once the dreaded credit card bill come in with the banks converted amounts. Great to quickly see the answers to the questions that inevitably come up like “What was that restaurant on Saturday night in Paris” captures images if needed. If this would sync with an app like TripCase, it would be unbeatable.

Does it all!. It keeps getting easier to use and I like the new features especially adding a photo which clarifies whether a check was actually given or cash was given. The notes section is always helpful. It makes my accounting so much easier. Have found multiple uses for it, and I’m sure I will moving forward as well.

Great app, great design, exceedingly useful. This is one of those rare apps that is well focused in its purpose, does what it does very well, and doesn’t overcomplicate it. I love getting a full PDF export when settling up, I love all the options for entry and splitting. I can easily see using this app for as long as it is supported. (My only request would be to save me a click and let me automatically go into the one group I have when I open the app.) Shout out to the developer and thank you!

Easy!. We use Splittr for our annual trip to Hilton Head with two other couples. The app is so easy to enter who paid for a meal or event and which of the six participated in it. At the end of the week I am able to quickly pull the status report to see who is owed money or who owes the other person. No worries about who paid for the expensive dinner or whatever. It all is split out evenly at the end of the trip! Love this app!

Love it!. I find this app really helpful when traveling with friends and family. It helps us “keep even” as we go so there isn’t a big surprise at the end. It also helps you track how much you really spend when traveling so you can budget for next time. I love it!

Perfect. This app was perfect for a recent international trip with several other couples. It was easy to use even for more complicated situations of some people sharing some expenses, etc. Since I am an accountant I knew the burden of tracking expenses would fall on me and this gave me peace of mind and allowed me to enjoy the vacation as much as the others.

Relieve the stress of settling up!. Awesome for organizing vacation travel with others, where everyone takes responsibility for a certain aspect (lodgings, airfare, tours, car rental) and you all settle up later. Also great when you take turns picking up meals, drinks, Ubers, etc. with friends but you want to be fair. Settle up once a month and close the episode. Love!

Practically Perfect. I love a well planned, well designed, realistically ambitious app! This checks off all the marks. It’s free for a fully functional/non-crippled version. The premium features are reasonably kept premium. The premium price is reasonable and not some absurd over-valued amount. There are different options for premium. The app is sophisticated and flexible enough for almost any scenario. The app can be used anonymously so you don’t have to create yet another account if you don’t want. It really is a “wow” kind of app. So simple and easy to use. Wish I’d known about this sooner. Thanks Splittr team!

Better than similar apps…. Other apps I’ve tried require all the parties in a group to download the app and join, and we all know that’s as easy as herding cats and toddlers. Splittr allows me to add all the travelers whether they join or not and track our shared expenses.

Fast, easy way to track group expenses. Before Splittr, when traveling with a group, we all kept our receipts for group expenses and I spent hours in a spreadsheet to evenly split costs. Splittr completed eliminated that—we now each input costs the minute we expend them and the app calculates who owes what to whom. Anything that saves me hours of my life deserves 5 stars.

Great Concept, Poor Execution on Final Payment. I downloaded this for a friends trip to Boston. We all set up our profiles and added our PayPal info. We were easily able to add anything paid for and split with the right people. However the issue came at the end of the trip when trying to settle up. We thought we would be able to pay direct from the app but that didn’t seem to be the case. Every way I tried to figure it out, it didn’t work. Why ask for PayPal account of you can’t actually pay someone. Besides that ending, everything else was great but this was a pretty big flaw.

Love it!. I’ve used this app on about 5 or 6 trips with groups of friends and it just makes life so much easier! There are many options to enter an expense and everything is super user friendly! I recommend it to everyone traveling in groups needing something simple to keep track of the expenses.

Invaluable app for travel with friends. 17 days, 5 couples, 3 countries, 3 currencies, $7,500 in shared expenses and creative expense splitting throughout. Splittr made the finances of this trip between friends SOOOOO simple. I’ve had trips with 2-3 friends over a weekend or so and used a spreadsheet to track it all. But before going on this trip, I knew I needed something more as my spreadsheet became unwieldy when you had to split things unevenly and/or had to exclude different people for different expenses. Not to mention multiple currencies. Splittr handled it all with ease. It can split expenses by $, %, evenly, a weighting, or any combination of these. I merely took a picture of the receipt when an expense was incurred and either entered it on the spot into Splittr (took well less than a minute even with the OCD double checking I do), or that night. It gives a complete report of each expense by person/couple showing what each paid and was allocated for the expense. So complete transparency for all. Also figures out the most expedient way to settle up to minimize transactions between parties. Can’t say enough good things about this app.

A bit confusing at first, but you get the hang of it!!. The first time I used this for a trip, the costs overview was a bit difficult to understand. But once I really sat down with it I understood and it made sense. One thing I’m not totally crazy about is the fact that every time I enter a new cost, my profile is the sole payer and I always have to un-click myself and select the payer. I’m often the person tracking the payments in the group, so I’m always entering, but not always the main payer! I appreciate the different ways to split payments too if someone wants to pay more for a shared expense.

Simplicity for group expenses on a trip. This app allows a group to split expenses evenly if all members simply enter expenses as they are incurred. You can take photos of receipts to make this quite easy. The app then does the math and determines the easiest way for all members to get square with all in the group. I highly recommend.

Makes Traveling with Friends So Easy!. Since discovering this app, have used on a number of trips with friends. Makes sharing expenses so easy! Paid for the upgrade that allows you to have customized shares and it is worth it! Easy to use. Highly recommend.

Man, this app will save your vacation!. So easy to enter different denominations, for one entry you might only have the dollar amount, another you enter in euros, pounds, etc. You can also give one person a percentage of the split. This worked well when my niece left our trip early so she only paid for two days of a six-day car rental. You can email a PDF to everyone when you’re done. This app is amazing, and perfect and I love it!

Easy way to split expenses while on vacation. Love this app for travel! Note to the developer - I notice once in a while the amount clears out after I enter a name. The amount I entered will clear but I can still see the amount converted to my home currency. Not sure why it only happens sometimes

Makes reconciling shared expenses fun!. I’m a mathematician, and yes, I can do this without the app. But Splittr makes it fun! Nice features: - can say if a purchase was not shared by the whole group - everyone can see all of the expenses - no need to argue over whose turn it is to pay - devises minimum number of equalization payments. We settle-up outside of Splitr, because the Paypal links don’t seem to work. Not sure if this is a PayPal issue or a Splitr issue.

Best Expense Manager App Ever. I have used a couple of expense manager apps, and Splittr is the best so far! The fact that it can accommodate currencies and export to PDF and Excel is a bonus. Plus, even if a member does not create a profile to join a group, you can track expenses on your own! The all in one features and ease of the app, plus ability to upload pictures makes the app undeniably one of the best in its class. I highly recommend Splittr over Splitwise and other expense apps.

New version less usable. I have used this app a number of times over the past couple of years. Last time was a few months ago. We just started a trip and we’re surprised to find out that the current version is much less intuitive than previously. This is a trap app developers get into: Keep throwing requirements in and a previously simple and graceful app that did one thing well now does many things-poorly. To be clear, this used to be simple and intuitive and is now inscrutable. Clearly little or no user involvement before release.

Perfect for group vacations and events. Takes the mental work out of adding up expenses and makes it so much easier to keep track of expenditures as you go. Easy to use. I like having the option to use different currency so I don’t have to convert and can do in real time.

Love this app!!!. This app has changed my life- truly! Ive told so many friends about it and now it has become a verb- "Shall we Splittr it?" One bit of feedback- when you create an event it automatically uses your default currency and you cant change it later. Maybe insert the option when creating a group to either use default or change it? Thank you for creating this app!

Fantastic app for reviewing monthly expenses. We have two users and it makes keeping track of daily amounts that we settle at the end of every month. I enjoy seeing the episode stats, it helps with budget forecasting. Have been using since 2015.

Great app!. This is fabulous! I have used this for multiple trips - it keeps track of who paid for what and at the end of the trip gives you who owes what to who with amazing detail! There’s no awkwardness about who takes out their credit card because you know it will be fairly accounted for at the end. Can’t praise it enough!

Great way to split expenses - and FREE. I was paying $100 a year for access to a co-parenting app, primarily for the expense tracking feature. My ex had to pay the same amount. Other than expense tracking and the calendar, we didn’t utilize any of the other features. I’m so thankful we found Splitr. Now we use this and share kids appointments in Apple calendar for free and it’s much easier to use. Highly recommend.

A MUST HAVE FOR ROOMMATE-HOUSEHOLDS OR TRAVELING. this app helps me and my roommate SO MUCH! We go 50/50 on almost all groceries, home supplies & utilities! Having splittr makes us able to just pay for stuff as we go and do one simple equalization payment at the end of the month without ever having to do any math at all 🙌🏼 this is also amazing for trips with big groups too

Super convenient for iPhone users!. I’ve used Splittr on many trips with no issues. The only wish I have is that it is also available for other phone type users, as my friend has a Samsung and isn't able to input items - we do it for that one person instead. Overall, Splittr is a very helpful app! :)

Must have for group vacations!. Easily let’s you track and split expenses. You can setup groups and split amongst all or part of the group or at different percentages. Made our vacation expense tracking super easy and we could do it on the go.

No need to take a bookkeeper with you. Great app. Well conceived features, easy to use and to understand. I'm finding it really useful on an international trip with a friend. The idea of the built-in currency converter is genius. At the end of the trip, I remained just as enamored with the app. It works really, really well. At the end of the last trip, I made a suggestion to the developer which he made happen. That also impressed me.

Makes splitting cost much easier. I use this app whenever I travel with friends and family to figure out costs and expenses. What I love about this app is the ability to opt in/out of a member who didn’t participate in certain activities, and having the flexibility to calculate unweighted cost among our group. The download report pdf function can be buggy at times but the pros outweighs the cons. Highly recommend!

Offers important features but room for improvement. With 8 of us taking a trip to Europe I wanted something to track expenses because it was 2-3 of us paying for most things with the knowledge that we would make it right with each other after the break. The reason I like this app over others is because not everyone cares to login so I needed something that can track “virtual people” as well as people that want to login. What I think should be improved is the “settling up” feature. The report is good but it confuses everyone with the way it’s done now and no effective way to double check that it’s correct. But it does let you export the report to CSV/PDF to manipulate so that helps.

Great for co-parenting shared expenses. I use this app together with my kids’ dad to keep up with all of our shared expenses. We’ve been using it for a couple years now and it’s so much easier than using a spreadsheet. We have the percentage of responsibility preset so the app automatically allocates the amount owed. I also use it to help me and my boyfriend keep up with expenses we share as well.

Best app EVER!. If you travel with friends...I’m always making the plans and booking activities, flights and places to stay....this app truly gets rid of the spreadsheets and keeps up with who owes what! You can even do “progress payments” to settle up before the trip is done! And you can even print out reports if you have a friend that needs the paper- LOL. I promise you when I say you’ll love it!

Far exceeds expectations. We travel a lot with friends. And split large presents for family between siblings. For years we had various spreadsheets and tallies to keep track of this. Splittr has far exceeded my expectations and made shared expenses incredibly easy to keep track of. It’s well worth upgrading to the paid version to be able to use multiple currencies, too!

Like the app, but premium function no longer works... Really like this app but unfortunately since I switched to a new phone (while the app creator was so kind as to help me use my old profile) I get adds now even though I bought the premium version :-( Would be kind if that could be fixed. In any way: I would recommend to create an account right away to make sure there’s no problem when switching phones. Thanks!

We love it!. Been using this app for years on trips and dinners with friends. It’s been so helpful with calculating how much everyone owes. Love that we can attach a photo or file of a bill/invoice. Cuts down on me doing all the math. And recently I shared it with friends for an upcoming trip and it’s been so helpful with who owes who and how much. Also, this is my first app review.

Invaluable app for multi-group travel. This is my go to app when traveling with others. Love how it works across currencies and easily adjusts for who paid / participated in each item. Used for countless adventures and still going strong. Definitely recommend creating an account to back up your data and even better, just buy the app for full functionality.

Great app for travelling. I have been using this app for the past 10 years or close to that it has been of great help to follow up to split costs with my friend. We only need to make sure of create all the inputs and the app keeps track of everything else. We used to sit together and do the math to split expenses but this is not needed anymore Also, people can register their own expenses and this makes the process so much easier.

Great app with one major thing I would like to see changed. We have used splitter for 8+ years & really like it. It is great for keeping track of your own expenses on a trip or splitting expenses with friends on a trip. In the past I think R, the developer, has been very helpful with problems & responsive to suggestions. That doesn’t appear to the case as much probably due to the volume of users. Also ads are now an integral part of the app, which I understand due to the need for income. However they come with sound that can’t be turned off easily. This causes problems if you are in a public space or in a room with someone that is sleeping. It would be great to be able to turn off all sound for the app in the future R.

App works great. We’ve liked using it so much that I bought the lifetime plan. Would love to see custom categories. We lump a lot of expenses in entertainment and food, but if we could segment into monthly subscriptions, restaurants, take away, it would help. Love the work you’re doing.

Makes tracking and settling expenses simple. This app was recommended to me by a friend. I recently went on a 12 day trip to Ireland with three other women. It was awesome to keep track of our shared expenses and then very easy to settle up at the end. I would highly recommend it. Great audit, trail and reporting.

One of the most functional travel apps. Fabulous app; easy to use and great for traveling with friends within ruining friendships over finances! Question: is there a way to generate the report by category of spend? I can input the info but I can't seem to summarise it out.

Excellent money sharing app. My friend and I started using Splittr last year on one of our trips. It makes it so much easier than keeping a written log. We have bought the premium version for multiple currencies. I am interested to know what conversion data they are using back to the base currency but otherwise it is so easy. Also the statistics show where you have spent your money.

Bernice. Fantastic app. Kept track of expenses for large family group on holiday. Easy to use. Loved the ability to weight expenses between members and the detailed report, so everyone can see exactly how their share is calculated.

Very well-designed, does everything. Nearly perfect for splitting any expenses incurred as a group. Mostly intuitive and easy to use. It does everything I can think of that one might want for this task. Very minor gripes: deleting an expense, payment or other item wasn't obvious (swipe it); it would be a little easier if you could apportion an expense unevenly as part of the creation wizard, rather than having to save it as an even split, then edit. Wish list: a pop up calculator option when entering an expense, a way of backing entries up to the cloud.

So useful!. We used the app during a boys’ ski trip to Japan. We entered bar tabs and restaurant bills in Japanese Yen and settled up at the end of the trip in Dollars. Splitr is easy to use and such a great idea.

Best app around. I was an relay adopter of this app and I love it! The multiple currencies is a great feature esp when doing group travel. The excel and PDF reports and export feature is very handy- I always use this app! Highly recommend.

no support. I had an issue with expenses being lost and I couldn't see them but other people could. I tried to get help from them and received no help. I still can't retrieve my data directly. It was really bad and affected the other people who I was trying to split bills with in a negative way. Use the app but be prepared to lose data and get no help.

Possibly best app I’ve used. Some apps gets close to what you are hoping for. Splittr exceeded my expectations - brilliant tool which I think I’ll continue using not only for holidays but also for friends and family where bar, restaurants and other costs are shared. I also use it for our share house expenses. However, the new ad platform sometimes doesn’t give any way to close when it’s a gaming video ad being shown and the only way to get back to Splittr is to close and reopen. I don’t mind watching an ad but after the countdown to not get an X to close is annoying.

Easy to use and Intuitive layout. Have used this app for some group travel and works great when different people pay and settling up is done. Great as a expense tracker just for one person at a 6 day festival. 👌still using it

A top travel app. I use Splittr for both estimating, recording and “splitting” my overseas travel expenses. At the start I enter any pre-payments then estimates and during the trip record expenses. It allowed me to handle a 5 week trip through multiple countries with friends where we ended up being just $10 apart in our shared expenses and I had no surprises with my own budget. I travel with people who don’t like the detail stuff and don’t want to do the actual budgeting. Splittr lets me record all our seperate contributions for them without them needing access to it. Of course, if people do want to record expenses themselves (I wish) they have the option to join and do so. Note: Splittr doesn’t really have an estimating function but I’ve been able to run multiple lists or update entries to achieve this function. I like: Easy interface Currency conversions Cloud based - can enter on phone or iPad and updates between Backup because cloud-based (so if I lose phone I have iPad) Registration isn’t onerous and personal details aren’t requested Adding people to a group is easy Easy to use - stays on the default currency and default group but easy to change. Able to weight contributions Simple breakdowns and statistics No flakiness - very stable app

Awesome!. Divided expenses for my friend and I perfectly ! Wish that the app had a tax option, unless I couldn’t find it I had to manually add the tax for each expense.

Best Splitwise alternative. Have been searching for Splitwise alternative and found Splittr. It’s been very good so far. Intuitive and reasonably priced. Looking forward for more improvements.

Pretty good could use a couple of new features. Recco by a friend. Pro user. Works well but I wish there was a way to list expenses by category and also to note whether payment was by cash or charge. I’d like to get a totals paid by person cash and charge.

Best app for splitting costs. One tip if you want to ensure no one questions your cost: Always put the city first, then category, and then be more specific after that. For example: Toronto: Dinner - XX Bar Wings Or Vancouver: Uber - YVR to Hotel Always ensure the time and date is approximately correct. And put the category picture on it. And if you need to get into more specifics like about the food, attach a picture of the receipt or write it in the notes. My friends and I always go over the settle up table to make sure we are all splitting it correctly so it really helps. I bought the app and never looked back :)

Splittr - LOVE IT, makes group celebrations and trips super easy. Been using this app since its earliest version. Travel frequently with other couples and we just don’t worry about who is paying for what! It all goes in the Splittr and gets costed out easily with minor settlements at the end - so if Bryna didn’t drink that afternoon, don’t attach her to the bill - too easy! Curiously it becomes a challenge amongst the members to not “fall behind” in the items they pay for so that they don’t have a big payable at the final settlement. Saves so much hassle. Couldn’t travel with others without it.

Nous utilisons splitter depuis 3 voyages et ça nous a libéré de tout ces calculs. Le plus grand bonheur est que tout le monde paie sa juste part peux importe qui paie la ou les factures. Aucun goût amer financier après un voyage. J’ai payé ma part et les autres aussi. Splitter aide à garder de belles relations avec nos amis avant, pendant et après le voyage.

Must have to Travel. This is the best thing when traveling with friends. I even put my personal travel related transactions where it’s not necessarily split between buddies just to have a tally of the trip so I can go back later to have all the details all in one place. Including where we stayed and went. Fantastic!

A staple in our home. This is how my partner and I keep track of bills, receipts, who paid what on a daily basis. If I go to a bachelor party, where 20 people show up, it’s how we figure out who owes who what. One of the most essential apps day to day IMO.

Loved it but major bug & no support. I had been using it for a few years and I loved it. Since a few weeks the report functionality (which is key) does not work. I have been sending emails to support with no return. I had to switch to another product. It's frustrating as I had to migrate the open accounts and my friends had to install the other app.

Love the app, doesn’t seem to be supported any longer. Love this app and have relied on it for years now. My most recent experience has not been great as the app no longer creates the final report, which renders the app useless. I reached out to support twice and it’s been a week with no response. I eventually had to send out the little info I had about settlement payments after raving about the functionality of the app to our group. Big disappointment when such a great app is no longer viable.

Does everything I need. I have the premium version and it works perfectly. I use it to split trip expenses and to keep track of groceries and other items that I buy for others. Easy to use. I enter items as I go, no need to sort through receipts again. I discovered today that you can add additional members to an existing group and the app will not change what has been entered and split previously.

Travel. This has been a great app for four of us traveling together and sharing costs. I am confident it has saved hours of time calculating individual costs.

Absolutely amazing app. I love this app. What I love most is not having to invite people to it to share expenses. This app allows me to just sort it out and send out a report which is what I really wanted.

Great for Groups!. Love using this app to help accurately split purchases with as few Venmo transactions as possible. My roommate and I open a series each month for shared utilities, workout payments, dinners out, etc to keep from going back and forth via Venmo. It’s also SO CONVENIENT for group trips to simplify it all!!

Game Changer!. Awesome app is easy to use, has some great features and is a total game changer to prevent awkward moments and not get (unintentionally) ripped off when traveling with friends and family. :) upgraded to the full version which I never do, but it was 1,000% worth it and a great value! My favorite app!!!. Most awesome app if you need to keep track of payment for group trips. Track who pays for what and who takes part in each activity. Quickly figures out final tab and calculates who owes who. A lifesaver when traveling!!!

Great for group trips. We frequently take trips with groups of friends that include singles, couples and couples with kids. The app has made the end of trips just as enjoyable because reconciling costs is no longer a nightmare!

This app is amazing!. If you travel in a group, you need to get this app. Even has different currencies and ways for dividing expenses. Creates an easy to use spreadsheet at the end telling everyone who owes whom. Awesome! Also fantastic for dividing expenses if you have a roommate.

Great app, allows multiple people to pay!. This is the best expense tracking app I’ve used. Allows you to designate that multiple people paid for an expense, with percentages. That turns out to be the most important feature in my friend group.

Solid way to track costs. Excellent means of tracking who’s paid what, when and where. Love having the spreadsheet so everyone can see how the costs are shared. It’s quite intuitive although it took me a few tries to learn the flow of recording costs.

Prague/Poland trip. Uses Splitter for 2 people for a 10 day trip! It has worked quite well . We are in a foreign country and each entry was figured out using money conversion tables. If was easy and right to the money exactly! Great ap!

Best app ever. I planned a trip for 8 people with some staying a few days to some staying 2 weeks. This let me keep track of everything and divide out the costs based on who was participating. Love this. Have used it on 6 trips so far without fail.

Invaluable tool. Traveling with my sisters, I like to track both split expenses and my own. Splittr makes this possible without a steep learning curve. When I made a mistake I couldn’t fix, their customer service was very helpful and quick.

Great Convenience. Like everything about the app. But would like a feature to summarize a week or two weeks or a month and then carryover the balances to the next recordkeeping segment. Or create an easy back up feature to reveal the totals at the end of each segment.

Great App for Group Trips!. We do a lot of sailing charters with friends and SPLITTR makes it so easy to track all the expenses - shared hotel rooms, taxis, drinks, dinners, etc. We use to have to do it all by hand and excel spreadsheets... this has simplified it beyond belief!! Love it!
