I’ve used this app everyday for almost 3 years and don’t plan on stopping. I heard about 1SE on a podcast in 2017 and was intrigued - I’ve always wanted to keep a journal but never had the stamina and would burn out quickly. 1SE makes a version this journaling of this possible! I also use the “freestyle” mode to document concerts, vacations, and other unique experiences. My family loves getting those video “mashes”, because they say so much more than photos of the same events would. Watching my videos reminds me of the small, everyday details too that are just as special in their own way. I got the pro subscription just recently, not necessarily because any of the additional features jumped at me, but because this product has been consistently useful, reliable, entertaining, and otherwise part of my life for a relatively long time - I’m quite proud to support this app and show it off as often as I can! That being said, my other main draw to the pro was to have unlimited backup of all my snippets - I’ve been going at this for a long enough time that I would be very sad to lose everything. My one critique is that sometimes when the app mashes long videos, on the order of the last year of snippets or so, the audio will sometimes get out of sync with the video. This is a small bug that I’m sure can be or already has been addressed (just updated my app yesterday). Keep up the good work, y’all!

Horrible UI Update. I’ve been using 1SE pro for almost a year an a half during which they’ve made many updates. In general, I feel the updated trend in the right direction, increasing functionality of the app improving user experience. This update however is incredibly frustrating. The app now opens to a screen that shows all your projects as cards that you need to swipe through. You then need to scroll through until you click on the on the project you want every time you open the app. This makes no sense as I typically will only be working on one project at a time. Previously, switching projects was as simple of tapping ‘My Timeline’ at the top of the screen and selecting from a drop down menu. Now, from a project page, it involves clicking in the top left of the screen and then scrolling though other projects each of which take up the full screen. This must also be done every time the app is opened. The full screen cards that show your projects give no control over the images or colors you can use. I’d much rather look at a grid of my previous week’s 1 second memories than a title page with a colored banner and the thumbnail of the first second in my project. This UI update made icons to control clip settings larger which now makes it makes it necessary to scroll in order to access clip volume control. I appreciate when 1SE is quick and functional to use without excessive scrolling and clicking. This update creates unnecessary steps.

Latest update crop proportion issue. Great app overall. This is probably the only app that I am actually sticking with for more than a year now. The latest update messed up the horizontal proportion though, so you’d always crop a bottom portion of the video without knowing how much it’ll crop out. This is consistent either you’re using the phone’s own camera or the one inside the app. I find this very buggy since I am very mindful of the composition when making clips. Also the user interface used to be a lot more simple in the previous version, where you could launch the app and start taking your one second within one click, whereas now it’s annoying to have to click three buttons to start video recording. That precious one second to be recorded can flee in an instant — a bird, a moving train, a sound... Very critical to keep it simple so those moments are captured.

Here one day, gone the next. I had posted this a while back “I absolutely Love this app. I’ve been using the free one for a year now and have been taking videos every day. However, it seems that a lot of the features of the free app are being taken away. We no longer can do 1.5 seconds for a clip and we can now only have one video where as before we could have two for each day. I understand that the free app will need to have limitations compared to the pro, however it seems like pretty soon there’s not going to be anything left on the free app. And the jump to pro is quite big in regards to cost. I’m really bummed that the app has changed so much in literally two days as I had access to all these features Thursday.” Soon after this changes were made to the app and these features we accessible again without the pro and just he initial payment app. However, my phone just updated to the most recent iOS and with it, those few features went away, again I can only have one clip a day, no 1.5 second clips, and now I can’t even create multiple montages. Again, I understand that the free app will need to have limitations compared to the pro, however i’m really bummed that they brought these features back and then removed them again as well as a few more.

This app is great!. Great app. Simple interface and single premise - capture one second every day of your life. I know it sounds like exaggeration, but this app has truly changed my life. Every day, I am more present and involved in the now thanks to this app. The concept of capturing one second every day forces you to put attention and be mindful enough to find that one second that sums up your day. This is better than other journals for me because you have to be in the moment. I can’t reflect at the end of the night (or brush off reflecting) and take a picture of something that happened earlier that day. This forces me to be in the moment and actively engaged in life so I can find that 1 Second Every Day. It’s amazing!

First App Review Ever (This App is Worthy of One!). This app is hands down the best app I ever discovered browsing the App Store in my 10+ years of owning a smart phone. The premium version is worth every penny. As a newer parent (my daughter is two now) and someone that does a lot of traveling, this app has made reminiscing on the past such a beautiful fluid experience. IF YOU HAVE A SMALL CHILD THIS APP IS A MUST HAVE!! The ability for you to make a meaningful and fun video of your child’s formative years is priceless. The music that is available for you to put over the pictures and short video clips makes the watching experience that much more sentimental and impactful. The option to add time stamps to each clip is another great feature, and way to further refresh your memory of a specific event, or even just a normal day in the life of you. Love it. So this is a little pricey but what’s the price of life definitely priceless. I love this app I love the way it works I love the way it applies itself to platform there are some tweaks that need to be done through an app but it is definitely what it says it is it is a video diary. And also let you link into your Instagram card to keep things up-to-date today this is the second highest rating I have given an app as I’ve been reviewing several self-help apps, journaling apps ,Video diaries, and motivational apps this one is definitely put together beautifully as a video diary I really wish it would team up with Fabulous and Day One I think that be the most mad awesome Calabro but that’s just my opinion. I’m not a writer is always grandma is I love video recording even talk to text so for me this pops! But all in all I love this app I can’t wait to use it with my Instagram is totally awesome and that is Ya buzz with the Bei!

2020 Goals. My New Years resolution was to use this app to make an entire video of 2020. I have seen this app in the past on the App Store, but could never justify paying for it. I believe it used to be $1.99 back then. I think looking back that was a pretty generous price for what this app offers. Even the non-premium version has plenty of useful features without having to upgrade. I love ❤️ the ability to add your Live Photo’s to your memories for each day out of the month for that added level of immersion. The auto-fill feature makes it completely effortless to add your memories for that particular day automatically, and it backs up and syncs with your iCloud Photo Library in the background which is super handy. In the 2 short months I’ve used this app to log 2020, it comes highly recommended. Don’t just take my word for it, try it yourself. You literally have nothing to lose now that it’s a free download.

doesn’t work with higher resolution/fps videos. I’ve been using this app since the beginning of 2020 and the recent updates have made it much better to use. I have been taking short videos every day on my iPhone and once every few months spent an hour uploading them all to the app. Recently, I’ve gotten even more behind and it’s been about 6 months since I’ve uploaded videos. ***Somewhere during those 6 months, i changed my camera settings so that the resolution and frames per second were higher on my photos and videos. all my videos taken after that make the app crash when i try to upload them*** it’s a really great app, but it’s super disappointing that i might not be able to have a finished product because my phone/the app or whatever can’t handle higher quality videos. otherwise 10/10 would recommend. if this could get fixed i’d give a 5 star rating

Gets worse over time. When I first started using this at the beginning of 2023, it was really good. The app promised 1 year’s worth of “free storage” for your 1se video clips. Since then, they’ve changed something and now the in-app advertisements for their expensive “pro” version have become completely obnoxious to the point of being off-putting. As of about a month ago, every time you open the app or select your daily video it pops up with the advertisement. It is also telling me I’ve run out of backup for my video clips halfway into the year… even though the “backup” is just your own iCloud account. It’s not even storing the video on their own servers or anything like that. (???) I like your app and would be happy to pay a few dollars for the premium version, but not $50/year! Your pricing is ridiculous and I’ve stopped recommending the app to my friends and family because of this.

I love it, but..... Don’t get me wrong, I love this app. I love the concept of having one clip from each day to look back on at the end of the year, and this app makes that very easy. You can simply record a clip in the app or insert your own clip and trim it. It allows for journaling and captions which is also great. The thing that bothers me about this app is that is it is a very simple concept, and when I got it it was $5.00, which seems a little much for such a thing. I got over it because it was worth the memories and the easy navigation. But now, after I have had the app for over a year, they are pushing for a Pro plan, where you have to pay more money? It threatens that you will lose all of your video clips and they won’t be backed up, and tries to push the upgrade to the Pro plan too often. It’s $30 to use basic features users of the app have been asking for for years now. It seems outrageous that they want that much so you can add music to your clips or make them longer. If I had know about this, I would’ve thought twice about getting the app.

Three years strong but..... I’ve been using this app consistently since 2018 and I loved using it! But the latest UI update with the swiping right and left photo tabs leave me questioning whether or not I should look elsewhere for my annual project. There are so many new tiny features that I find annoying, like the redesign of the add video pages and the multiple stages you have to go through to save the video to your timeline. The huge vertical thumbnails across the app! The fact that if you’re saving two videos, you have to scroll up to see them. What was wrong with leaving them side-by-side? The app worked better when it was simpler none of the extra bells and whistles. I doubt the dev or UX team will see this, but if anyone does...please change it back. The simple theme before the redesign was fantastic, quick to learn AND use. This makes me not want to use your app anymore because you’ve made it a chore to use.

Please change the caption font back!!. I have been using this app since 2018 and always tell my friends about it. Like other reviewers, I am annoyed with the most recent update. There are many things that bother me, but one of the biggest is the caption font on videos. Originally, the font matched the date font (if I remember correctly) and now it is a non-italicized sans serif with an unnecessary amount of letter spacing. Because of the letter spacing, I can’t fit as much info in the caption. It’s also impossible to read on the video itself because there is no longer a shadow on the text. Quite frankly, it was an unnecessary change and has made the caption illegible. I have other qualms with this update that other reviewers have mentioned, but the caption font makes me cringe every time I see it. Please change it back or give users the option to change the font in settings.

Vertical version/latest update. I was really pleased with this app and its functionality, and then they had to go and “update” it. In the new version, there’s no longer an option to use the app in landscape (horizontal) mode. They went too far “fixing” the problem, that iOS users couldn’t rotate to vertical. Now it’s even crappier because you have to press about twice as many icons just to view clips and/or take them horizontally. The smart thing to do would’ve been to keep the simpler icons and just add the ability to rotate IF WANTED, not force everything to be one way or the other. It should be as easy as tapping one icon to open up the camera for recording; now users have to go through an entire process and figure out where everything is just to add snippets on the spot. It also doesn’t need the added social media component. People use this app to record seconds, and nothing else. They don’t want ads, or other people’s content, or anything else invading. The entire point of the app is to collect snippets and put them together, and share them on another platform if desired. I’ll likely stop using it if something doesn’t change.

MY Favorite App Of All Time, hands down. As a super busy mom, teacher and person who tries to live each day to the fullest, it is often so hard to not feel that everything is a complete blur. I am a past scrapbooker and avid photo taker, but where is there time for all of that? There isn’t! When I found OneSecondEveryday it was like MAGIC! I can DO this. And especially when I discovered that because of Live Photo on my iPhone, SOOO many of my still photos were already little mini video snippets!! In the three years that I’ve been storing my one seconds, my TEENAGE kids have already changed so much. In the blink of eye, but now I can play my snippets and see just how much I have to be grateful for. I see just how full my life is! Even in the ordinary and small, seemingly insignificant moments. Thank you, one second creators, from the bottom of my heart for sharing this with the world!! You’ve definitely made it a better place. :)

I enjoy it but it definitely has drawbacks.... Firstly, I don’t regret buying this app, but the “one second” every day concept is a bit...limited now. This app allows you to increase individual snippets to 1.5 seconds, and you can choose up to two per day. However, there have been many, MANY days when I wished I could add more, slightly longer snippets. At times, I’ve even added snippets from certain days to the WRONG day just so I could have that moment in the compilation, and the inability to remove the date stamp means I’m just lying to everyone. Ultimately, I just end up wishing I had complete control. I would have paid more for the app with the promise of a limitless snippet composer, honestly. Secondly, I personally do not take issue with the location and font of the date stamp, but if I did, I would probably not use the app at all, and this review would be very very different. So please allow people more options there. Lastly, any real video editing software is effectively nonexistent. Thank you for fixing the issues with orientation etc. that you have already, but honestly why can people not put their videos to music? Why can I not add any effects whatsoever within the app itself? It’s just...disappointing. I love the idea behind this app, and the motivation of the person who created it, but...all that innovative creativity has really come to a standstill. I’d just like to see more.

Bloated. I’ve been using this app since it was first released in 2013. I’ve seen it grow from a super buggy beta that crashed constantly that first year, to a relatively stable and decently designed app. This latest release has some great features, like the live-photo-to-video feature and being able to crop vertical videos to fit the horizontal frame. Unfortunately, it’s gotten clunky. The save dialogue takes several seconds to save the clip, with no progress indicator. And every few seconds or so, it’ll just crash completely instead of saving. I’m a mobile app designer with hundreds of apps on my phone and none of them are anywhere near this crash-prone. I suspect building all the social sharing features (what? why?) have sapped their development resources from keeping the app running smoothly. I’m also irritated with the subscription model they’re pushing. Why would I pay a subscription for a product I only need to use once per year? I would much rather pay $20 once for a simple app that works, or $5/year at most. Plus... a lot of the “features” like brightness adjustment and removing the 1SE logo from the end of compiled videos, aren’t really features if you can just as easily edit the video in the default photos app and trim off the branding from the end of the clip. Cesar Kuriyama inspired me to start doing this in the first place and I really wanna support his app, but the payment options they’re pushing aren’t great.

Excellent app made worse with subscriptions. I’ve been using this app nearly everyday since 2015. Back then it was simple and effective, the best second a day app out there. Slowly they’ve been locking features behind subscription paywalls and at first it was no big deal- a few optional but useful features that you could get for a few bucks a month, nothing wrong with that. I’d even buy it every now and then because it was such a great deal But today I tried to export and now they’re CHARGING to export your video in HD??? Ok, no big deal, I’m happy to pay 10 bucks this month so I can export my video. But you can’t do that anymore. You have to pay 50 DOLLARS for the entire year upfront. I’m not doing that. Today I’m exporting my last second a day video in 720p and immediately switching to another 1SE app. Nearly 8 years of daily use and today you’ve lost me.

Updated 8/28: still vertical-only. Bummed to see it's still a vertical-only app. 8/28 update: still not vertical and responses to other reviews indicate that it's "a lot of work" to make it a horizontal app again. Well, yeah. I'm sure it was a lot of effort to un-horizontal it in the first place. But given the number of long-time users who bailed on the app once you did that, I certainly hope you are putting in the effort. Original: Didn't update in April when it went vertical-only because I'm middle-aged and my eyes can't focus on images that small. Sad to see that this July update hasn't addressed that issue. Many of my friends who normally post 1SE videos each month on Instagram haven't since that last update - I'm relieved that I didn't update and can still use it horizontally. Please for the love of my old eyes, allow this app to be vertical OR horizontal! Other than this (deal-breaker) issue, I LOVE this app.

Unaffected by what others are complaining about. One of the coolest things about this app they don’t advertise is that the “Live Photo” capability of the iPhone finally comes in handy for something. Every one of those is about a second, so any photo you already have in your phone can become part of a video. It’s cool to see your day-to-day photos turned into live footage, I guess. Many of these reviews complain about a march update that took away features, which confuses me because I didn’t even notice and I’ve been a near-daily user since January. I broke my phone in April and was so bummed to lose the seconds I’d taken since then that I recently upgraded to monthly pro. If people are mad they get only one snippet a day, they can always spend the dollar a week it would cost to get more snippets or even use the freestyle capability. I do dislike the orientation of video since I rarely shoot horizontally but other than that, I enjoy this app completely and it’s one of the few I will pay for.

Horrible update. First time I’ve ever written a review for an app. I bought this app around three years ago and used it faithfully for the past three years. Within the last few months, the developer has been pushing an aggressive subscription campaign that I feel hinders the app. As many people of Artie said another reviews this was a paid app in which many of us purchased. I do not appreciate this push towards a subscription-based model. Secondly, with the new update, mashing your one second videos has become a pain. The vertical alignment crams many of the features into a small space which makes it incredibly difficult to properly select your one second. An app that used to be very intuitive and allowed you to quickly journal the events for the day has become a laborious process. If changes are not made to the app within the year I plan to move on and find another video journaling app.

Great until…. A friend introduced me to this app 3 years ago…loved it! I used it everyday. Even paid to subscribe. This year I’ve a lot of changes and didn’t keep up with it. I’m in a place where I can finally catch up and load all my pics BUT…my app started acting up. Checked updates, removed, reinstalled, created new log in. Nothing works. I don’t know what update has been pushed out. I reached out to support. That’s even worse. They only contact you with a single question, every 24 hrs. The email back and forth was so frustrating. I ended up canceling my subscription and looking for a new app. 1SE, I really loved you guys. I loved creating my daily snippet and seeing it all come together at the end of the year. Brought me such joy, but it’s heartbreaking that we must part ways. I’ve been trying to figure out why I can’t access any settings or even try to restore on the app. I hope you fix whatever is happening. You WERE great!

Great App, Two Drawbacks. I love this app so far! It serves as great a reminder to pause and reflect on the beautiful little moments in your life. My goal is to upload and write an entry each day in 2019. There are only two things that I wish it could do: 1) use in Portrait (upright) setting vs only in Landscape (sideways). I have small hands and never type using both hands on the full keyboard on my iPhone XS. It’s very unnatural and clunky and I end up making a lot of typos that autocorrect doesn’t seem to catch. It makes for constant editing and means it takes much longer to write a quick entry than it should. It’s frustrating. 2) I would love the ability to set a simple notification to be sent at a specific time each day to remind you to upload a picture and jot down an entry. All in all, though, still a great app. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out at the end of the year!

Great idea, horrible UX. K.I.S.S. much? Listen, i have worked in software research and development for over 20 years in. every position from architect to engineer to product manager etc. so this is not a case of me being “non-technical“. However as much as I want to like this application I just cannot understand the workflow it makes zero sense to me I’m simply wanting to record 1+ seconds of video per day and have them mashed together so that I could then replay as hoc. I “think“ this application allows that however I’ve yet to be able to understand how to achieve this. Assuming that is the intent of this application here’s a hint bring in a UX expert and create a next GEN version of this before someone (ahem) beat you to the punch. Seriously I can’t tell which is up and which is down in this app. I *tnink* I’ve recorded some clips during my trial but who knows. Unfortunately I think this application simply out fight itself and was focused on too many bells and whistle‘s and not actual workflow. To that end I seriously doubt I will be continuing my subscription but instead will simply mimic the idea and easily create my own application which will achieve what I am wanting once again to save a small clip each day and have them smashed together so that I could play back whenever I want.

Umm???. Ok so let me tell you: I LOVE this app. I use it everyday to take videos of my friends and can’t wait to see how it all turns out at the end of the year. All of my friends want to be in my one second each day, and they have fun deciding on what to do in the second that they have. But recently, something has been different. I’m unable to take a long video, and then chop it down into a second. Rather, the app takes a random portion of the video and puts it in, and it doesn’t let me choose the part of the video that I want. Maybe there’s a step I’m missing or a button I’m supposed to push? But I never had to do anything before and it would just let me do what I had to do to the video. If chopping the video has become a premium thing, I am more than disappointed. And so, even though I love this app and the idea behind it, I cannot give it a full 5 stars. Thank you for your time, hopefully this is a just a lil problem or I’m doing something wrong :)

Not sure if I like I.... I was using another one second app which was free but limited without upgrading to pro. I decided to download this app instead since it’s the original one second app and I like that you can work on separate projects, so I can keep my sons first year separate from our 2018, one of the features the other app lacked. However, I’m not feeling this app that much. First of all, landscape UI is annoying to work with. Second, yes you can rotate your video to portrait mode but the date remains in landscape and is big, bold, and takes over the clip. I understand that the date is kind of the point of the one second every day concept but if we can’t have the option to remove it, it would be nice to at least be able to move it to whichever corner we want and make it smaller so the focus is on the video and not the dates. Anyways, I will give this app another week just to see but I most likely will go back to the other app.

I LOVE IT. This is my favorite app at the moment and honestly even without the notifications I remember to take a picture. What I love most is that you choose the part of your day you want to post and you can put live pictures which is amazing. I downloaded this because of a girl on TikTok who said she has used this app for seven years, I started January 1st and I’ve been in love ever since. The only down side is you have to pay after a year, but tbh atm I’m hooked so I’m down to pay a small fee as of right now. It allows you to see your life from another perspective and it shows you that you do more things than what you think you do, also you wanna post fun stuff so it kind of encourages you to go out and do fun stuff. Overall I love this app so much :))

Will never please some people. At all. I've used this app for a year and a half now. Gives me a great way to simply scroll quickly back through the many memories during that time. Its a great little video diary. I personally have been very pleased with it during that time. I don't pay for the monthly subscription but have never felt that I needed to. It performs well on just the free version and gives me everything I need to create those memories. I can't understand why people want to beat on it. Yes, I do like the vertical format better. I think it's well developed and you'll be hard pressed to find anything that does the job as well, much less better. FOR FREE! I will say this, after a year and a half it will take up some memory on your phone. Cloud backups???? I'd pay for that.

Used for 3 years, feels like I have no choice.. I’ve had this app for 3 years and have used it consistently. It often glitches or has issues when taking videos. I have to resort to just taking a video with my camera and uploading it that way. It also will glitch and freeze if you happen to be listening to music at the same time. I have the regular version which allows you to create one project. I had a project for previous years and decided to create a new one for this new year so I deleted my prior one. The app would not let me create a new one unless I upgraded to Pro, because I had already “used” my free project. Pretty ridiculous functioning if you ask me, you should be able to create a new one if you delete your previous! If I had known I couldn’t create a new one, I never would’ve deleted the previous! It feels like they are purposefully making the free version nearly unusable to force you to pay for the upgrade. Since there are few reasonable competitors on the App Store, there is basically no choice.

Love!. I never leave reviews but I have to for this app. It takes all of my video clips out of my phone and into something I actually want to watch. I’m kicking myself for having downloaded it years ago when my son was born and not keeping up with it. However, it’s VERY easy to go back. The paid version is completely worth it and I have used it month by month this year (2020, it’s May) and have even started to go back and fill in some videos from previous years. I LOVE it. I love documenting my kids and this app is everything I could want. I love the different projects feature and have one for each family member along with my continuous snippets for my timeline. I do wish I could access it on my computer, but since all my videos are on my phone anyways I really don’t mind that as much. I really love it though. I watch my little videos way more than I should probably admit. But that’s how much I love it.

$50?! 😱. I am heartbroken over this app. First, I do love this app. I’ve used it for four years now and have made four really cool videos. I was happy with the limited functions for the free version and never felt pressured to have to buy the Pro, which I appreciated. But, I just deleted my last video project to start my 2023 project and realized too late that the 1 second video project is no longer free and if I want to use the calendar, I have to pay for the pro version. I know the app response is going to say that the free version still works, and technically it does, but it’s not the original free version. The free version now is the “freestyle” which doesn’t include the calendar for adding video in. So now I would have to keep track on what days I have uploaded videos from instead of the app doing it for me. I feel more and more pressured to have to pay for the pro version and I’m just not going to do it. Maybe if it was $20 but $50! Come on!

The new update is horrible. I used to love this app, I used it all the time and I was telling about it absolutely everyone. With the new update I actually don’t want to use it anymore. I paid for the app $6 a coupe of years ago so I wasn’t using the free version. The change from horizontal (landscape) orientation to vertical (portrait) made it worse. It is difficult to see the snippets they are crammed. The editing portion of the screen changed - the ribbon where I pick the 1 sec sequences is not detailed and I can’t see or hear how the 1 second snippet will sound/look like. When I pick something, try to play it, it replays the whole video, not that part I chose. The ribbon is not intuitive to navigate (as it used to be) and it is hard to pick the snippets. I can’t pick custom dates to mash videos. It forces me to pick current year, everything. I used to show this app to everyone, I would pick a few custom dates and show them how it works and how great it is. I also can’t replay snippets from prior years (i didn’t save them). With this update actually I don’t enjoy it and I am going to look for a different app with a similar functionality. There is a very aggressive push to the subscription service, but I already paid for the app and actually all the best features were taken away. Find a different app. It has such a great reviews becuse of the older version, but since March 2019 it is crap.

The best app I’ve ever had. I’ve been using one second every day for almost 3 years now. At this point I honestly can’t see myself not doing it. The experience of watching back your year is so cathartic and fantastic to relieve experiences and remember the contexts that I would recommend everyone to get this app. From a technical standpoint it’s very easy to use and is very user-friendly, plus the staff who have created this app are very helpful and very good at connecting with their users over social media. They say the best camera is the one you have with you and with the prevalence of smart phones nowadays it’s never been easier to record a little slice of your life that you and your family will have to look back on whenever you’d like.

Turning into a bloatware. I love this app and have been using it since inception. Within the years more functions as been added and I welcome many like the 1.5 second and the new zoom effect for photos, but it’s getting too bloated with unnecessary options like additional timelines, video editor, advertisements for pro versions, cloud services, or unnecessary sound effects. All this goes piling up and it makes it more difficult for people to navigate and use. I never had to dig on the setting menu before trying to remove that annoying sound effect that sounds even when I have the volume all the way down on my phone. I have to constantly delete additional timelines that appear. I just want the simple old 1SE to add a 1 second of a video or photo every day. Nothing else.

Best app out there. This app is a therapist, journal and fun app all in one. There is so much freedom in how you use the app and what you can do with it. I rarely pay for apps but this one earned it. I have been using it for three years and have 1000+ snippets and journal entries on here. It is a place I can scroll through my memories and get a boost. It also reminds me that not everyday is going to be the best day but that good days are still to come. I have recommended to many people that they get the app and they have all found the same love for it that I do. If you are feeling intimidated but having to remember to take a video or a photo everyday, don’t worry! You can add things at a later date or just leave it blank, no stress<3 I can’t say enough good things about this app. I love it.

Great concept, disappointing evolution. My sister-in-law purchased this app when it was $5 on our Apple family-share plan, and we have been using it to compile compilations, montages, or whatever 1SE has been branding their videos/slideshows as. We’ve made multiple projects featuring each of our kids, different events, etc. However, now with the most recent update and the rollout of “Pro Membership” these features that we originally paid for now are being held hostage behind their $4/month or $30/year premium membership fees. I can understand their fiscal need to offer membership usages, but revoking pre-existing features from customers who have already paid is an abhorrent practice and I will no longer be recommending this app to friends. I’m still giving the app 3-stars because it’s good at what it does and I enjoyed it before they took away the features we paid for, but they have turned their back on their original paying customers. They should have created some kind of “grandfathered-in” program rather than revoking access. Now I’ll be searching for another similar app service.

Last update added a huge logo to my videos. I understand that they want to have credit for the content they produce, but the huge logo in the corner has made me not want to continue using the app. I told all of my friends who use the app to not update, and many of them saved their 2019 videos and stopped using the app on 2020 because they also do not want a video with a logo. I, and the rest of my friends, are decent enough to keep the logo that is inserted at the end of each video because it’s a great app and a concept that should be given credit where it’s due. However, $4 per month is not worth any of the other features they offer so I do not have any reason to upgrade. I really hope that this automatic logo will end so I can continue to enjoy the videos I make. In the meantime, I will be using iMovie to compile the rest of my second videos because it is just as simple and actually offers a lot more customizations. Plus, I can be sure that it will be safely backed up to my iCloud in the case that my phone breaks or is lost.

Ceasar’s Email. Caesar, your email inspired me this morning and I’m taking a minute to tell you how special this app truly is. I’ve used the app since my son was 3; He is now almost 11 and I have managed to do a video from every birthday to his next. He literally wakes up on his birthday, every year, and says mom have you finished my 1 second video? I compile the entire year for him and he loves it. Everyone loves it, it’s a family tradition and I am so grateful for the intuitive updates you’ve made each and every year. This is the kind of time capsule my son will have his entire life (well at least till he goes to college lol). I go back and watch his 3rd year of life video or his 5th year of life video all the time. Thank you for creating a tool that is literally part of the fabric of my family and will last a lifetime. If my computer dies and I loose everything, my yearly 1 second videos will live on forever. Much love and admiration from Castle Rock, Colorado.

Update 3.0 wasn’t necessarily. I’ve been using this app for about a year now & have really loved it, but I am really disappointed with update 3.0. The vertical screen was unnecessary, and actually makes it much more difficult to edit videos. I appreciate the push for greater integration of the journal feature (and it’s really cool that it exists), but it feels like you’re kind of shoving down our throats. I started off using leap second which I found to have a better interface & allowed me to add as many videos as I wanted per day (and they could be much longer than a second), but their app had a bug where my timeline was deleted more than once so I switched to 1SE. 1SE has been much more reliable, and I have never had a problem with it, but honestly I am strongly considering switching back after the update and push for subscription services that should really honestly have come with my $6 purchase of the app to begin with. The month by month format leap second offers is really nice & much more intuitive and easy than the side bar month scroll on 1SE, although really genuinely what you had before was much better than what you have now.

Started out great but the glitches are unbearable. This app started out amazing I love the idea of taking a video everyday and righting a caption so you never forget. If not for the freezing and glitches it would be five stars. Everytime I open there app their ad pops up and freezes on my screen. So then I click out then click back in and click on the plus button to create my video for the day. I hit record and it doesn’t start so then I try hitting the x. The entire screen is frozen so I have to click out and refresh my phones tabs again. With the freezing and taking forever to load I hate it but I can’t stop using it because I have been using it for so long I don’t want to lose all my memories. This has been going on for 3 months now. I have to refesh and x out at least three times to take a one second video.

Use to be so good. What the heck? I’ve had this app for 6 years and I used it to make a 1second every day video for every year except 2020. I open it up last month to start to compile what will be my 2021 video and this new update has destroyed the app. I have to close and re open the app once or twice per upload. That means I took about an hour and half chunk of my time to create months January-April. Because with every days upload it froze, close app, reopen, try again , freeze, close, reopen, uploaded! I don’t understand why it’s so glitchy now. And it’s very frustrating. I often don’t even try to select a specific 1 second chunk of a video for the day because I know if I try to scroll over on the video it will freeze. Something that took an hour and half, a year or two years ago would have taken 10 minutes at most. Please fix this app. Still 3 stars because it was so good and is still a great idea.

Good app, but do not pay money for it. Fundamentally, this is a great app. I still use it every day and have used it to record the last six years of my life. I do love my 1 Second movies. However, I'm very disappointed by my paid subscription. The app does have serious bugs that make using it almost impossible, and definitely very annoying. These bugs are not being fixed. Two examples are: 1) When moving snippets around in Freestyle mode (on iOS), the screen resets to the bottom of the project after each edit and you have to find your place in the project again. If you have more than a couple dozen snippets, this makes editing all but impossible. I reported this bug over a year ago, their QA (very nicely) acknowledged it, but it still hasn't been fixed. 2) In freestyle mode (on iOS 16), if you want to select only certain snippets to add to your mash, you cannot select snippets by swiping across them (as you can in iOS Photos, for example) but you have to tap each snippet individually. If you have a project with a couple of hundred snippets, this makes composing your mash all but impossible. Their feature suggestion page is a graveyard where bug reports go to die, don't even bother with it. It's a shame (because it's completely fixable), but because of these two serious bug alone you should not pay money for this app.

New Update - I want to delete the app.. I used to be in love with 1SE. An amazing way to see your life one second a day! It had an amazing layout, very easy and dynamic to work with.. Unfortunately, I can’t say that anymore with the new update. The new update went vertical, which I really don’t enjoy. At all. It seems as if they are trying to cram everything into one little screen, when before everything had an amazing layout. I really don’t think I will ever get used to this new layout. One more thing, perhaps the most annoying thing, the DIFFICULTY and TIME needed to take to record a snippet of your day. Before the new update, there was a red recording button you could press right when you opened the app. Now, with the new update, it takes MUCH longer to record a snippet for that day.. What if you want to capture a moment that is only there for a second, but can’t because it takes 30 seconds to solely get to the camera??? I’m sorry, but they need to go back to the old version. The app is also glitchy. I paid $6 for the app a couple of years ago, and now I feel as if I’m getting the free version, let alone there is now a “pro” version you can pay monthly/yearly for. I’m going to be honest, I don’t enjoy using 1SE anymore. Frankly, not sure if I even will.

Yet Another Money Grab. Listen, I understand that apps need to generate income and I absolutely understand that changes come to those of us who want to use a free app. We put up with ads or fewer features. But this app has lost every single feature now, outside of one type of video with one pic a day, if you use the free version. And god forbid you forget to save it at the end of the month because you have to delete it to make the next month’s, since you’re only allowed to have one at a time now. And the price to get the features? $50/year, which may not seem like a lot of money to everyone, but it is to a lot of us. And yeah, they have some monthly options - but those options aren’t the same as the premium version. I use to tell everyone about this app and how cool it was because the free version was pretty good too. It was life-changing for me because it was a simple way to look back and reflect on my month in a more positive way and for those of us with depression, that’s huge. But I guess now it’s time for me to figure out how to make the same kind of video with iMovie, something that is free.

Easiest way to tell a story of your life!. I have used 1SE for 6 years. I love using it cause it’s such an easy tool to track your life and tell a story. I use it for documenting every day of my year, but I also love using it to document trips and experiences for social media sharing (Tiktoks/Reels). The interface makes it so easy to select film clips you took that day and put those moments into a storytelling video! Looking back at a story (especially a year-long view of your life) really shares your highs, lows, and how far you’ve come. For me it’s a great reminder of my favorite people, moments, and experiences - and I can also see my personal growth in the storytelling. Definitely recommend this app. It’s so fun and easy and reminds me to capture the little moments.

Developer Sold Out. This used to be a great app that I paid for many times. I told quite a few people about it on Facebook actually. But sadly, the developer took what was a great inspirational story that he invented with this app, and turn it into a money making machine. Like I said, I’ve paid for this many times, and I have no problems with people wanting to make money off of their app, but $50 is ridiculous and you know darn well it is. I know why you went to a yearly subscription instead of monthly. It’s because most people, or a lot of people, use this app for recording vacations. And they don’t need it all year long. So they come and they go. I understand that. but I think it would be smart of you to add a 30 day plan for say $20? People that use it for vacations don’t need this $50 app. Anyway, I’ll know never know if you responded to this because I just deleted it all together. Goodbye. Too bad you let PR and corporate run your life.

Favorite app on my phone. I’ve done 1SE everyday for almost three years. The first year i started one year before our wedding and set it to music and got a projection screen and debuted it to my then fiancé and all our friends the night before our wedding at our rehearsal dinner. The second year i got pregnant. Now I’m almost done with the third year featuring our six month old baby! It’s such a fun thing to have, all our friends know we do it and when we hang out ask if they’ll make it in the second of the day. It’s an amazing way to look back and remember all the amazing seconds big and small that make up life. It’s kept me off instagram and enjoying life. Many friends have said they don’t have time to do it, but I don’t add a second everyday, I usually go back a month later and pick seconds. So if you already take videos most days anyway it’s super easy to go back later and do. Highly recommend!

My favorite app. I absolutely adore this app- so much so that I paid for the pro version (I almost never do this for anything!) I love being able to watch my year go by and relive small moments that may otherwise have been forgotten. As for previous complaints, I haven’t had any issues with the functionality and find it completely user friendly- and I’m terrible with tech. Like the absolute worse. Maybe a previous update had some glitches but I haven’t experienced a single one and I’ve been using the app regularly since June now. I also love that the app works with Live Photos like a previous user mentioned. You can also now choose the orientation of the videos. I highly recommend it to all of my family and friends.

This app helps me see the joy in everyday life!. It sounds like hyperbole, but this app literally changed my life. I had postpartum depression with my first baby, and every night I cried myself to sleep because of how hard it all was (he was terribly colicky and I felt like he just cried ALL DAY LONG). A friend told me about this app, and I started piecing together positive snippets from each day. When I’d watch the mashed video of multiple months, it helped me start seeing how much happiness my son was bringing to me and how the little things add up. I’ve been using the app for 3 years now, and I LIVE the updates. I was so worried because I had to switch to a new phone, and the backup and redone load process worked flawlessly. The only thing I’d love to see added is the ability to move snippets around. For example, sometimes I’ve already cut a snippet just right, but then later I want to move it to a different date to make room for a different moment in that spot. I’ve hoped to see a “drag and slide over” option to move a snippet from one day to another. Is that possible to add to the next update? Thank you so much for creating this app!

One of my favorite apps. I love photography and video and collecting and keeping memories. I have tried other types of photo/video projects in the past, but I always end up losing steam, get behind, get overwhelmed, and eventually give up. This app has changed that completely! I started my first 1SE project on January 1, 2020, with NO idea what the year had in store. The year felt long, sad, scary... but at the end of 2020, watching my 6 minute video of my memories and experiences through the year, really helped me appreciate the little things and remember the simple, good moments in the past year. It’s so simple and easy to do. All you have to do is remember, and make a habit to take at least a photo or short snippet of video each day. The app interface makes it SO quick and easy to add your clips, catch up if you get behind, and wrap your final video. I believe I have been so successful in making this work because the app is so seamless and easy to use. So many family and friends have really enjoyed my 2020 video and are now making their own. I am continuing this year, and hope to do this for many more years to come! I’m also thinking about starting some other types of video projects using this app- it’s just so fun and easy. I recommend this to everybody who wants to keep, collect, and share memories!

Idk. I love the idea of the app but when I installed it but you have to pay for subscription to do the one second thing otherwise you have to take count of how many seconds it goes. I don’t want to pay for it to automatically stop after one second it’s annoying please change it.

The best way to savour life as it happens!. This app changes your whole outlook on the world, you start looking for what defines each day and savour those moments and the people in them. You even start to savour the banal moments too. Even when you miss a day you realise it and it makes you think back through your day to consider the defining moments. The perfect way to promote mindfulness into your life without it being imposing.

Bring back Landscape. I’ve been using the App for a while, and really enjoy it. Extremely disappointed you’ve gone away from the Landscape option. As the photos/videos I load are landscape, and the resulting video output is landscape I really can’t understand why you’ve forced everyone into a portrait application. Can you at least give us an option, if the phone is upright the application is in portrait mode. Turn the phone sideways and it reverts back to the old landscape mode. If you do that, I can guarantee I’ll only ever use in it Landscape mode!

Great app, however.... Why not add a worthy feature that others will have to pay $8 for? I’m sure a few people already covered this, but for the original payers of the app (when it cost $8) what do we get from it now that it’s ‘free’? Cause we essentially got scammed in the disguise of the subscription which Im not going to pay for again even at a discount. I’m sure all the great features are still there and nothing is really taken away, but making the app free is pretty much an “f you, thanks for your money” to us original supporters. Maybe add something special for us. Unless there was a special update that l missed reading about. Great app though! And keep up the great work. I just have a spite over this.

Disappointed. I have been a long time owner and user of 1SE- and even bought it at $7.99 back in 2017. Since then- for some reason, I cannot move my 1SE videos from my old phone to my new phone, and unable to backup my videos unless I want to re-purchase my account! I am very upset angry as I have so many memories in my profile that I will lose, and I don’t think that it is fair that I have to pay for my pro membership account again!!

Loved the app until latest update. Been using this app the past month and loved it but now come to find they have made the second snip a Pro feature in the latest update. Considered purchasing the pro option thinking it would be a once off, $10 max ... but to charge $10 per month!? The pro benefits are not worth the same as a Netflix subscription.

Great app, but subscription for extra features?. I LOVE this app, it’s made me look at the small things in life a bit differently and appreciate them. Thanks! I got very excited at the prospect of being able to adjust levels with a Pro version, but a subscription? Sorry, no. I’d be more than happy to pay a decent/generous amount for an upgrade to include these extra features. But I have enough regular bills, I don’t want any more.

Vertical interface is terrible!. I absolutely loved this app but after the new update, it’s trickier to use. I get that some people might like the vertical interface but there needs to be the option. It has also made it really difficult to see what second you have chosen as it doesn’t replay it. I have used this app every day for a year and a half and never had an issue until today.

Almost perfect. This app is so great and it is always so fun to capture a moment from each day and then watch it back!! 💞 the only thing is that once the clips have been added they can’t be edited and it would be so great if there was an edit option to adjust the sound and brightness without having to delete that clip and start again.

I’m a bit annoyed. I’ve used and loved this app for many years. I add on a weekly basis. Last backed up 7 days ago. Today I go to use it and it wants me to subscribe to Pro. Which I already do, haven’t cancelled at all. Noticed the price stated for pro is about $30 more than my usual annual subscription which is due in July 2024 and it appears that I’m no longer a pro subscription. App won’t back up, can’t add more than 2 snippets per day. All my loyalty and money doesn’t seem to count? Really disappointed that you can hike the price and change my entitlements and not at the very least honor your commitment until my subscription is due again. Really quite rude and untrustworthy really.

Great app can’t wait for new features. I love this app. I’m using it to document my year and I love mashing a video at the end of each month to remember everything I’ve done. I really really hope there are some improvements to music in upcoming releases though. Some of the tracks are great but with longer projects they’re not long enough and on shorter projects it fades out awkwardly. Some apps are doing amazing things with modular, looping, or even generative music. I have my fingers crossed this will make a release soon!

Great app - would love an iPad version. I love that this app not only helps me to curate the day-to-day high and lowlights of my day but also helps me to take a step back and consider what is important each day. Please make a version of the app for iPads! I do most work with my videos on my iPad and would love to be able to use the app on the iPad in a landscape view with a good quality display size.

Worth every second :). This app let me to focus every day on the things around me and see the beauty. It also made me think of what I appreciated each day!

Disappointing new update. I’m super annoyed with the new system that has rolled out. I paid for the original version which allowed me to access 1.5seconds and two snippets a day and I was loving the app and recommending to everyone. Now that has been taken away and added to the pro version. I now only have 1 second and one snippet. I now have to pay $42 to get what I previously had paid for. Please add new features rather than taking old ones and adding them into the pro feature.

Moving snippets around easily. Hi there! Would love if you could easily move a 1 sec snippet from one day to another. I’ve got a long project where the days have got muddled (my fault, not the app’s), and not being able to easily shuffle the clips across has made the edit really difficult. I’ve also got 1 sec clips mastered onto a project and then I’ve deleted the raw videos, but would like to use the 1 sec clips in another project, so again, being able to drop 1 sec clips from one project to another would also be great!

Very impressed. This app is worth the cost. It is easy to use and upload your pictures to and generally very easy to contact anyone about bugs and other issues. As someone who loves photography, I would certainly recommend this app.

Love but needs some work. I love this app. I’ve tried many other apps for second a day video diaries but this one has so many more features than just video. Photos, mood etc. The only issue I have is that when I try to exit the camera part of the application it freezes and the app closes itself. I don’t know why this happens. The first couple of days I used it, it didn’t happen. I don’t know why it’s happening all of a sudden.

Great app until the update. The app was updated a few days ago and it’s just annoying now. It was MUCH easier before where all your photos came up and you selected the day and added a photo. Now you have to select either Timelime or Freestyle, select your date, add a snippet and confirm twice to post the picture/video. Please change it back to the way it was.

Has a bug. I’ve loved this app up until today, I have uploaded a video for every day this year and I woke up this morning to find that all my videos except yesterdays have been deleted. This would be a pain if you’ve done a couple months. I really hope they fix this because I was so disappointed after using this app for 2 years.

Love!!!!!. I love this app so so much!! It’s so fun and wonderful and it’s a huge joy to use it and seeing the calendar slowly fill with more and more memories. Although I was wondering? Is there anyway to make the photos go for 1.5 seconds? All my videos I usually put on for 1.5 sec. and when it’s bouncing between 1 and 1.5 seconds it kinda messes with the eyes. So is there a way to make photos show for 1.5?

Please bring back the mood rather (emoji) feature. Hi there, I love 1SE and use it daily. My therapist recommended it to me as a digital diary and It’s been a really useful tool in my working on and keeping track on my mood. Although with the new update, all my data that I’d logged using the emoji mood rater feature is all gone thanks to the new update. Please please bring back that option again! It was so helpful, and now I have to start monitoring my mood from scratch again because of this new update. Which if I’m being honest, is really not the best. I much prefer the landscape layout option as it was easier to work with than the new portrait only layout.

The app for anyone sentimental. I've used this app everyday for almost one year! In that time I've recommended it to almost everyone I know and they all become avid users. It's a fantastic way to have a creative outlet each day and to create memories you can look back on forever! Love love love this app.

Please help. I love this app a lot, however I recently have backed up my photos to iCloud and now when I try to add videos it says there’s an error. Is there any way to fix this?? I’m very sad, I’ve been doing this for a long time and now I can’t anymore, please fix it.

Genius!!!. I am the mum that buys the baby books and scrapbooks and all the things you’re “supposed” to do - but never actually get around to it! This is great because I can get a reminder each day to just upload one thing from each child and then BOOM! Every month I have a cute little video! Perfect! Thank you!!

Terrific App But Still Lacks 4K support. I’ve being using the pro version of 1SE since it’s initial release 9 years ago. It is by far the best app if you’re looking to create one second everyday videos. It’s only flaw is that exported videos are reduced in quality to 1080p, 4K is not supported. This is a significant flaw given you want this style of movie to be as timeless as possible. This feature has been requested on the support forums for years, but appears another few years away as the 1SE team search for an ‘economical’ solution.

awesome app but needs an update. brilliant app, have loved using it this year - however would love some bug fixes - when exporting the final video, the audio from each clip is still heard over the added music, despite the music being on max also some clips have a black border around them which just makes the layout less appealing I know you’re working on improving these and so an update soon would be awesome, so to fix the bugs for the 2019 video, thanks!

Stop changing the magic recipe. There are plenty of video editing apps out there that add advanced features. This app ‘was’ perfect for 1 video a day because it was EASY. Now, it takes 6 taps to add a video... it is no longer easier and requires payment for basic features like additional video. There is no longer a benefit to using this app. Either return the simplicity, or the features - otherwise you will lose your entire user base when they wisen up.

I really want to give 5 stars. This app is extremely well made. Very easy to use and intuitive. Must for every family. I would give it five stars and pay the annual fee if they integrate it with Google photos. I back up all my photos to hear and if I was to remove a bunch of photos from my phone without doing this app first I’ve lost the ability to add them in easily without having to go to Google photos and download the one I want individually. This takes way too much time and therefore doesn’t incentivise me to pay the annual subscription. If you make a fix for this I will sign up straight away

Updated and features have been removed.. I love love love this app but the new update has taken away the ability to add a second snippet or use the longer length. I now have to pay more to use it. I would not have updated if I knew this. I understand paying for new features but please stop taking existing ones away! This is my forth year using it and I recommend it to everyone. Please please fix this.

Great app, would love if it allowed 4K videos. This is such an easy to use app and a great way to capture every day’s great moments. Would love if it could export in 4K. At the moment 1080p quality just doesn’t look great on a bigger screen. I’ll be cancelling my subscription until 4K is available

Annoyed. Good evening, I am very upset with your app. I updated my phone to iOS 11 and I opened the app to find all of my hard work gone, mi was wondering if there was anyway I could get those back or will I have to start again.

Easily the best app. I have used this for years. It is so satisfying to mash together a movie if the little seconds from each day. Highly recommended! Especially if you have kids.

I wish the audio would sync with the video!. I love this concept and I have been using this app for years. I am very disappointed that I was charged for a yearly subscription when I have previously purchased the app before this was required. It seems ridiculous that I have to pay a subscription for a platform like this. Furthermore the audio is completely out of sync with the videos. This is not acceptable, especially considering the ridiculous amount of money I have paid for this app. Please fix this in the next update.

Would be good to compress videos. I love this app and it does everything I need. My only criticism is that when you download the video, it seems to just stitch everything together and not compress the data so the file size is enormous. It would be great if we could have the option to export and compress it to save space.

Lost my data. The app keeps crashing and lost my videos! Since I have a pro account, I deleted and reinstalled the app to try to fix the bug that keeps crashing it. Even after I’ve logged back into my pro account, the app won’t restore my backup and I’ve lost four years worth of videos! Also, the app continues to crash. Devastating, especially since I’ve paid hundreds in subscription fees over the years to ensure this wouldn’t happen :(

Mostly good!. I’m pretty happy with this app, however I like to have my videos in portrait mode so it would be good to be able to run the app and edit my snippets in portrait mode, to save me flipping my phone around between editing and watching. Also I’m not fussed on the day these snippets are from and make these more for the content, so I really wish there was an option to remove the date stamp. Otherwise, ripper app!

A little disappointed. Despite paying a premium for the app (which fwiw is easy to navigate and use) I'm disappointed that 1SE doesn't have the option to remove the timestamp they embed in every video and also that they slap their branding onto the back of the videos. I would expect that in a free version but certainly not in a paid version.

It’s great but the updates are getting painful. I’ve used this app for years and it’s really fabulous. But with each and every update, you have to work out what’s happening and then it just adds more and more steps. It might be time to change to a simpler app as all you need to do is stick in a video. You don’t need all these added extras and making it more time consuming makes it less attractive.

Going backwards. Love this app BUT recent updates are making it worse … 1) choosing a photo now doesn’t match with the date in a number of ways - the limited previews in “add from this day” doesn’t display all of the correct photos - clicking on one preview brought up an entirely different photo (presumably an iCloud mismatch?) - when you click through to “show 2 more”, it displays a different list of photos, and doesn’t include ones that were in the preview - it also doesn’t respect “add from this day” at all and just displays a list of all photos - I just want the photos from that day! Thanks for all your hard work: I know bugs just happen some time :)

So good. It’s such a nice app. I take one everyday then put in a diary entry reflecting on my day every afternoon then all the videos I’ve taken for the year get stitched together to show a full movie of everyday of the year! It’s so good highly recommend

Fantastic app. Been using it for a bit over a year and I love it. You don’t forget a single day. My grandchildren adore playing it back and counting how many times they appear. Highly recommend!

Bug needs fixing please.. Absolutely loved this app however the latest update won’t let me use the camera unless my microphone is on. It keeps saying my camera is not on (which it is) and the only thing I have off is my microphone. The moment I switch it on it works. Please fix this as I don’t want my microphone on. I’ve only given low stars to ensure you see this. More than happy to give 5 stars when it’s fixed.

Love this app!. I absolutely love this app. It makes me so happy! The only feedback I’d give is that it would be great if we could put two songs over the mashups because I’d love to share this on Facebook at the end of the year and I hate that the song doesn’t last the whole way....either that or longer songs! The app is amazing though. I recommend it to everyone on here and in real life ❤️❤️

It was 5 stars but not 3 stars now. I loved the old app. It was perfect. Simple to use just did the one thing and did it well. Now the latest app is trying to do multiple things which I don’t want. Why can’t I just do something in the settings so that I set my default function instead of having to choose each time? Also, it lets me add one video but when I go to add a video for another day it crashes every time I pick the video for another day. I used to be able to add a video for 3 or four days if I got behind. Very glitchy now. Also, bring back the feature to play the one second snippet as soon as I trim. Why are you removing features that are good? Not happy. It’s not as good as before.

A quality app made by quality people. I love this app. It is most definitely worth its price. I find it so fun each day to shoot interesting moments with friends or in cool locations. This app is made by an awesome team who truly love their work and it really shows through the quality and smooth running. I’ve never had a problem with it and I’m sure I never will. Great app that’s great for creating memories. Heard about this app from a friend on Facebook who used it to document there family trip to Europe. It just happened we were on our way travelling to India. I loved the concept of the app. I downloaded the app at Hong Kong airport whilst in transit and within minutes was creating a 1SE video journal of our trip. I created other seperate projects - the food we ate, the doorman at the hotels, my wife ( waving to camera each day) I have now gifted copies of the app to some family and friends as. Kris Kringle /Christmas present . Great app for creating memories of our recent trip and I can see lots more events when I can use the app .

Great app but.... I love this app and it is a really cool concept, but one issue I am having with it is that it automatically puts every clip into my camera roll. I know that some people might like this, but I find it annoying as I then have to go into my camera roll and delete each clip because I don't want it filling up with videos. I would really appreciate if you added an option to turn this saving to camera roll on and off. Also I feel as though if this app is going to have a pro version, then the base price shouldn't be this high.

Amazing. Amazing app, and a really great way to capture the events of my life. Although I’m currently experiencing an error. I currently have no snip for one of the days yet the app is treating it as I already have something on there. I tried many times to place a clip on that day though it keeps asking me to upgrade to pro. I hope this gets resolved

Focused on the upsell now. Everything has changed with this app. It used to be a delight to use. Now, it’s solely focused on getting you to upgrade to their monthly subscription. There are so many pop ups and prompts. Every time you add a clip it bugs you to upgrade. I cannot recommend this app anymore. Please treat your users better rather then nagging them.

Not loving the vertical update. Wish they’d put in the option for horizontal/vertical app. I really miss the easy “quick record” option in horizontal. Not loving the 3 or 4 clicks to record your snippet since the update. Also what’s going on with the boomerang recordings? I don’t want that! Overall a really disappointing update.

Update Creates A Lot of Errors. I had the app for over a year. Just updated to the newest version and it is very slow to create videos and simple things like replacing snippets either don’t work or it takes a phone reset to do so. It also won’t mash some of my timelines now. It was much better before. Never had any issues until I installed the updated version. Also not interested in re-paying for the app in order to receive improvements that the app already required, such as the option to lengthen snippets or add music.

My last 5 years. I have my last 5 years on 1SE and it is my favourite thing I’ve ever stuck with. Thank you for this app!!

Love the idea but.... I Love the idea of this app for preserving memories but I find 1.5 second clips a bit limiting. I would love the option of choosing 1 to 5 seconds in a future version. Some clips deserve a little extra time.

Music options. I really like this app and am having a lot of fun with it. I am just having trouble putting my own music to my freestyle. I have Spotify but I don’t think they are compatible. Is there another way to put your own music on your clips?

Can’t delete. I really liked this app but couldn’t afford to pay for premium. When I got this app a month ago, I could delete projects so I told myself that I’d delete them when I was done so I could make another project. Now when I tried to delete I couldn’t find the button so I looked it up and it’s just not an option. I really wanted to do a freestyle project but I can’t delete my current project so I’m super disappointed. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or just the app but I’m super disappointed. Is there a way to delete projects on apple?

Wow. This app is amazing. I’ve been using it for 2.5 years now, faithfully taking my little videos every day. It’s intuitive to use. With each update it gets better. I love the video editing capabilities that they’ve added, as well as the option to add music. The people behind the app seriously listen to user concerns. They’re constantly soliciting feedback and making improvements.

One of my favourite apps. I’ve always been a huge photo and scrapbooking person, and 1SE is so much fun to give a look back over the months (and years!) I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now, even just scrolling back through the thumbnails make me smile :)

I Like It But…. I am going to have to look at a different video diary, creating app option, I can’t find the month to month subscription for this one and can’t afford $70 per year up front for pro. Disappointed.

An app worth paying for. I’ve used 1SE since 2017 after hearing about it in a podcast (I think?! Love this app - I love being able to look back. I love being able to look back and appreciate the big and small moments in life. It’s also a great memory aid when you’re trying to remember when you went in a trip, or when you had coffee with your Grandpa, or hung out with friends.

Awesome. I really love this app and had a picture everyday from January till now. I had to reset my phone and I thought logging in backed up all my photos but apparently it didn’t which sucked. Other than that it’s pretty awesome 💕

The one app to have!. I’ve been using 1SE for 1.5yrs and I can’t get enough of it. Only after about 2 weeks I upgraded to PRO version and it was the best investment. The app is well designed, super user friendly, intuitive and the client service that 1SE teams provides is just a cherry on the cake! I very highly recommended it!

Love. I live using this app. I’mm working on an annual 1second every day video. My kids love watching the progress. I also make videos for special occasions— sun gun & easy. I highly recommend this app.

wont save. i love this app but for some reason it won’t save anything from april 1-4 but says they’re backed up. they’re saving now (from the 5th on) but i still can’t go back they just erase once i leave the app.

Update messed up. This app was super fun until this most recent update when it wiped out the last 6 months of my collection. And it won’t even restore the items that were allegedly backed up. What a waste of time.

Love the App... But now my 1 yr subscription isn’t working. Have been using this App since April! So amazing, love the monthly recaps I can save and rewatch! I got the 1 year PRO subscription from the start, and 2 days ago the app locked me out of all the extras that come with the PRO, saying I need to pay to upgrade. I don’t know if this is an update error or what, but I sent in a submission online, no response yet.

Fun App. Fun to use and I’m looking forward to seeing the results in a year or so. Would be nice to add square orientation aswell as the landscape and vertical as it views nice on mobile and desktop.

Issues Sharing and Saving the Final Video. I’ve loved using this app throughout the year however now that it’s time to save and share it I keep getting errors from the app and it’s not working 😞 very disappointing and I don’t think I’ll be using it for another year

Great way to record memories!. I’ve been using this app for almost 10 years and it’s been an amazing experience being able to record and look back on every day of my life! Only one thing I would change, is in the “rewind” section which shows photos and snippets from this day on previous years, I wish it included all projects, not just the current one! As someone who has a new project for each year, I can’t easily look back on my snippets from this day for each year without having to go into each project manually. If this could even be an option that we could enable in the settings that would be great. Otherwise keep up the good work!

Volume adjustment problems. I love this app and happily paid for the pro version but there is an issue that's really ruining the whole experience for me. The volume adjustments are terribly inconsistent for me. Often, when I lower the volume of really loud videos, they revert back to the original volume when my snippets are mashed together, so then I have to keep track of which snippets are too loud and then go back and adjust the volume again. It's RIDICULOUS. Other times, I have to lower the volume all the way to 2 just to get it to an acceptable volume, and then it ends up too quiet when I play it back. I never know whether a snippet will be too loud or too quiet until they're mashed. I probably spend triple the amount of time trying to get all my snippets the same volume than I do creating them. It's truly ruining the fun.

This app is my diary. I absolutely love this app! Now I don’t have to write a diary because everything I need to remember is right here at my fingertips. I can record video, take pictures, and write notes about each entry. I have purchased the full app and can record as many 10 second entries as I want. I now have over 3 years of my life recorded and haven’t missed a day yet. I save each month on my computer and save to a storage device. Love! Love! Love!

Love! But.... It’s great really! But I could only do one “freestyle” 1SE before I couldn’t do anymore. I want to do more but I can’t 😫 I need I fix!

Wonderful app… but…. I adore this app for keeping memories of our family going and seeing how my kids grow and change over time. I turn push notifications off for pretty much everything and as a result have forgotten to keep up with this for months. Now I don’t have a full year of content to add in because everything before October is stored in Google Photos. If there was a way to add in directly from Google Photos on an iPhone this app would’ve earned itself 5 starts from me. I’ll try to keep up from now on!

Uggg. The reality is the app has a very interesting premise. But, for me, I find it difficult to use, not fun and somewhat boring - yet I want to really like the app. You do have the option to pay ($70 year - for what, who knows or $14/month = $170 year) to add longer than one second video clips, and “maybe” remove ads, branding, etc., but I can’t move to paying for it as I just don’t see the need to pay for something that is somewhat difficult to use (understand), not fun and boring. Oh well, I lost interest fast and deleted the app.

Cool!. Love the app! Would be great if you could connect your snapchat and have the videos auto-sync from Snapchat memories as an option! Would save time rather than saving them individually and then uploading it on the app

Music limited to one song is SO disappointing!. I’ve been capturing memories all year which creates a video just over 6 minutes long but even after purchasing a pro subscription you can only add 1 song (plays in loops). 6 minutes of the same song doesn’t do the year justice - would be awesome to add multiple songs.

Absolutely Amazing App. Been doing it since 2013. This app is incredible for documenting life. My only complaint is when exporting the compilation from app to computer. The footage is not transferred in the native quality. I shoot in 4K and what’s ripped to my computer is like 1080 or something. Hoping this gets addressed in a future update.

The app you want to like, but can’t. Great idea. Difficult to use. Doesn’t solve any problem well. Slow to improve. Apparently no vision for the product. Prioritizes useless additional features over improving UX. A daily video journal is an awesome idea, but look for another solution — after 3 years paying for the app I can say 1SE is clearly not up to the task. I think new iOS shortcuts combined with Photos.app built-in functionality you’re more likely to end up with an experience that will help you keep up the habit, and enjoy the process. Oh, and that option is free.

Tapping widget goes straight to subscription ad. Before, tapping on the 1SE widget, would jump straight to capturing an event for today. But as of the last update, now it takes me straight to the subscription signup page. This happens daily. It is infuriating, I paid for this app years ago as one of its earliest customers, and now I’m being forced into relentless nags on the daily.

Hate the new “update”. I loved this app but I hate the new update. Why did you remove the smileys? I really liked looking back and getting an idea of how I felt that day. I don’t care about seeing other people’s mashes. Make a link if you want to but to include it in the app interface is pointless. It had 5-stars from me but now only 3.

Love this app but disappointed with the update. I love this app but I have to agree with many other people when I say that the vertical mode makes it harder to use. I loved the ease of the horizontal mode. I thought when this update was made that users would be able to just turn their phones sideways and use it horizontally. I know that 1SE takes reviews seriously into consideration when it comes to future updates and I hope that this is one we will see soon. I don’t hate vertical just prefer horizontal. The option to use both within this app would be a handy feature.

Version 4 made me cancel my membership. Version 4 of 1SE has made the app unusable for me. Like others have mentioned in the latest reviews, there are now extra taps a user has to do to make a clip for the day. It’s just enough where it has become so annoying to use that I dread filling out my day. I dread it even more if I let a couple of days slip by. Additionally, since the latest iOS update shared albums don’t work. Shared albums is where I have my clips for the day to put into the app. Now I just get errors whenever it happens. I’ve brought this up with support already and they said they are working on a fix but there have been no updates. The amount of bugs and extra taps have made me no longer enjoy this app and I only plan to use it until my membership has expired as I have already paid. After using this app everyday for almost 3 years, It’s time for me to move on.

Excellent mindfulness tool. I am about to come up on three years of doing 1SE every single day. I’m not sure if the developers thought of this as a mindfulness tool, but is an excellent way to remember that every day contains moments worth holding onto. 1SE is a great way to tune in and look for those positive experiences. The gift of this app was particularly illustrated on New Year’s Day 2021, when three of us, who had each kept a year’s worth of 1SE, shared our compilations. We had just experienced an unprecedented pandemic, yet each of us had multiple minutes of positive memories reflected in our one 1SE’s. I credit this app with helping me cope through these trying times.

Deletes everything. I spent 2 hours editing videos for this app. I didn’t mind because it wasn’t a big deal, but that changed quickly. I exited out of the app after I saved everything and didn’t use it for three days. When I went back to the app, all of the videos I spent so long on had vanished and it made me create a whole new account without even giving me the option of signing in. At first I didn’t panic because i thought that just might have been their version of a login page. I typed in the same email I used originally and submitted it. It accepted my email, but instead of signing me in it created a whole new account. This resulted in me losing months worth of editing (the editing took me a very long time because I got the app a month after when I wanted the timeline to start so I had a lot of catching up to do). I’m beyond upset that I wasted money on this awful app!

bad UI overall and buggy. I used this app back in 2019 and it was amazing and had little issues, now it’s a bloated mess that takes too long to get anything done. You used to be able to snap a video, press the next arrow and exit the app and now there’s an extra screen confirming it for some reason (something i did not find out about until i just exited the app and the video was gone because i didn’t know about the extra page). The camera in the app either takes forever to load or just doesn’t load at all and it’s become frustrating to use. I also wish you could just stay in one journal since there’s no reason for me to have to chose each time as I only work on one at a time. TLDR: app used to be great with a streamlined process and now has almost too many add-ons and the camera works half the time

Love it!!! Only one concern!!!. I love this app! It brings me so much joy! Just looking back on the little snippets of my everyday life makes me realize that I'm doing great! I love how like every month the video keeps getting better and better! This is a truly great app😁😁 My ONLY thing is that you have to be a pro to use the music on the app! I don’t want to pay that much money a year just for a couple things! So my only thing is that if you can take at least some of the music off pro and make it so that you don’t have to pay, and everyone can use, this app would be almost perfect!

For the sentimental and creative. My friend turned me on to this app as a New Years resolution project. We started at the beginning of the year and have been using it since. The layout is very clean and user friendly! You can also have multiple projects going at once as well as two seconds per day(up to 1.5 seconds for each slot), which is super nice as I am a rather sentimental person and sometimes find multiple seconds to be worth saving and commemorating. Although it costs money, it’s worth it if you plan to use it a long time as there are no other apps for free that rival the ease of using this one.

Just another recurring bill. Probably the future to have everything be SaaS. The app itself is pretty good. I used it for an extended trip and now have a good video record of it. The problem I have is the Software as a Service (SaaS) model that this has turned into. So you have to buy the app, and if you want the “advanced” features you have to pay $4 per month or $30 per year. The main feature they brag about is the unlimited backups. You can already back this up to iTunes. I pay $1 per month for 50Gb of extra storage. So that doesn’t really affect me much. The other features are just one off changes that don’t cost money for the company post implementation. Volume control? Brightness adjustment? Remove branding? Allow for 3 second snips? These could all be rolled out as courtesy for those of us who paid the $5 for the app. Or they could price it into the upfront cost of the app. I’ve seen the developers say they need to charge to keep a paid app free from ads. Not sure I follow that logic. Anyway, it’s probably just a sign of the times. We now see almost all software trying to turn into this ridiculous SaaS model. Hopefully people start to reject it and companies just price their products accordingly upfront.

Best app EVER!!!. I am about to start my 6th year using this app (literally the longest I’ve kept up with any project ever??) and I will never get over how much I love it! I encourage everyone I know to use this app because I honestly wish something like it could have existed when my parents and grandparents were younger to look back on their younger lives (I can’t wait to share mine with my kids and and grandkids someday)— my boyfriend and I are going to be doing it together in 2023 and I am beyond excited!! Best Decision. I never ever write reviews, but this is the best app! I have tried for years to document my life in some way from journaling to trying to take a daily picture. However theres something so amazing about a quick second video of that day, and with that second you instantly are able to remember what you were doing on that day, and why it was so important that you recorded it. Many feel that a second is not enough time, but that’s kind of the beauty in the app your life consists of seemingly unimportant seconds but then when you look back at your year, all those sec that didn’t see important make up your life, and it is almost as if you gave yourself a gift of a beautiful video of your life.

I love a company who stands by their product. I live this app and always look forward to posting my monthly videos on IG. I went pro some time ago and I noticed last month after I posted the video the background noise came through the music I added. I know I always toggle the volume of my snippet to off and was self doubting myself until I fired off an email & was told that I wasn’t the only one having this issue.(phew) So the same issue happened again this month. I fired of another email and Marilyn is ALWAYS quick to respond. She asked me to update the newest version and lo & behold the bug was fixed. Now THAT’S a company I want to get behind! Thanks guys! New update. I used to love this app and have plugged it in my parents group on Facebook. Now though I can’t take videos directly from the app; I have to make a video and then upload it. I liked being able to do that before because I don’t want all the extra steps. I’ll continue to use it as I’ve used since my son’s birth and it’s been a great way to memorialize the year. Plus I also paid a premium for it so I better use it or it will go to waste. I don’t want to do a journal and share with other people; I just want to take videos and mash it together as I see fit. Otherwise the app is great and I love seeing the videos I make when it’s my son’s birthday.

Something I look forward to. I love this app! It is straightforward and so easy to use. I truly look forward to recording my little videos and putting them into the app everyday. Even though 2020 has been a horrible year, I have worked on my video everyday and I am so excited to see how it turns out at the end of the year. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, more like a 1 second video is worth a thousand words!! I love how you don't need a premium account to get something out of this app. Definitely recommend this app for making memories and all of your video project needs!

New update needs some fixes (updated). *UPDATE*- I contacted the support team about my issues and got quick responses. After a few back and forth emails to figure out exactly what is happening, they fixed the problem in their latest update and instantly emailed me to let me know. So I changed my review to 5 stars....for usability and also prompt problem solving. I loved the app before to the point that I paid for some extra features (which I don’t do normally). The newest update is a little frustrating and some of my photos won’t line up correctly and things are cropped out. I still can’t figure out how to fix that. Hopefully they will correct this soon.

Go-to memory keeper. I’ve had this app for a few years now, and enjoy it more than ever. I went with the pro membership, which isn’t necessary but I did it for the backups and mostly for the music overlay. So many great choices to add different moods to my videos, and something about the music makes my memories seem like a cohesive movie montage, which I LOVE and then feel compelled to share with family and friends. There have been a few updates and changes to the app over the years - it feels like the people behind this app do a great job of implementing user feedback with all of the enhancements. Overall: easy to use and still my favorite way of saving life’s little moments

Great app. Needs some adjustments and iPad functionality. I love 1 second everyday, and I’ve been using it for the past few years. However, I don’t love the verticality of the newer UI, and I’ve noticed the text is far too big in the videos now. It used to auto-adjust to fit the length of the caption (i like to add locations of where I’m at, along with movie titles and/or episode titles if it’s a clip from a show) and now it just cuts the text off past a certain point. Mostly just a few gripes of what is otherwise a great app but if the text size was fixed it would greatly improve the user experience for me. Also, would very much appreciate the addition of an iPad compatible app. I can use the mobile version which is fine, but I would like to be able to use the app on my iPad, which is my daily driver device.

Love looking back at my memories!. I’m relatively new to the app, and I don’t take many pictures on my camera roll. Most of the pictures in my video are from snapchats that I saved, downloaded to my camera, and then added to the video. I know several of my friends who use this app feel the same way as I do. If there were a way to make it easier to get the clip from Snapchat to 1Sec that would be great. I understand that they are different platforms but maybe look into that? I’ve been using the app for a while now and sometimes when I try to rewatch a snippet it freezes/ glitches. This doesn’t happen when I watch the whole video but sometimes I want to look back at just one day. I would like it if this could be fixed.

Up sell before even trying the app.. Before you even get to try the app they are trying to up sell you on the “pro” version which has way more features. ( you haven’t even got a chance to try the features you have yet) and you can not start using the app without signing up for promotional emails. This is not an option, this is required. Which means right off the bat they are also sending advertisements to your email address. And yes, we still haven’t even gotten to try the app yet. The app itself seems okay for what it is, you are limited in how many shots per day you can do, and those are limited to 1 second, there is a watermark, and more. All of these limits are bypassed if you purchase the pro version. I’m just not a fan of these business practices. The way you handle your monetization and advertisement is important.

Great app, but a little too simplistic. I use the free version, which I dont mind, It does get the job done, however, I wish the editing skills for the pictures and videos were the same, it's a bit odd/silly that I can rotate my videos, but not my photos. I can also zoom in and out however much I'd like on the photos, but i either have to zoom all the way in with my videos, or all the way out, nothing in between. It's somewhat frustrating that I also can't edit the orientation or size of previous snippets. I have to go through the trouble of replacing the snippet completely. It's a nice app, and makes it a lot easier to make a video compilations, but for such a nice looking app with a great concept, its weird that these simple features that most apps have don't exist.

i LOVE this app. i downloaded this app at the new year and i don’t regret it one bit. some days i’ll forget to put in my video or picture for that day, but then i’ll easily go to my camera roll and find the date then insert. i love rewatching my year so far to see how i’ve changed (even though it’s only march)!! i totally recommend because it’s great for memories and super fun to do! One thing i would change is the notifications. it does send reminders but i wish u could maybe personalize it because the normal notifs are just quotes which is cool but i wish i could get it to say something like ,”put your second in!” regardless great app perfect for a fun look back!!

I freakin love this app. I started using 1SE in 2019 and I still use it almost everyday. I love how simple it is to navigate the app. I’m very into taking photos and videos to rewatch later on so it makes me so happy to watch my mashes at the end of every year. I also love how awesome the team behind the app seems. I love reading the little notes when there are updates because I can tell it’s from humans as opposed to a robot. I recently had a zoom meeting with a member of the 1SE team to give some feedback (shoutout to you Jason) and it was such a pleasant experience. Made me love the app even more. I highly highly recommend. <3

Love It!. I downloaded the 1secondeveryday app after seeing a friend use it for a while. I was interested in trying it out so I downloaded it and have been using it since the beginning of this year. I watched a TED talk on this app and what to use it for. I liked the idea of not only using the app for the happy moments, or big adventures but also using the app for the small or sad moments. When I go back and watch my month (and one day my year)in review, I remember all those moments that got me to where I am now. Also, I really love not being stuck behind my phone at a concert or on a trip. I can just capture a glimpse of a moment so I can remember it later. I really enjoy this app!

Great idea and execution, but.... 1) I really wish you didn't have to pay a subscription fee to backup beyond 1 month. BUT!, I don't expect the developers to save my data on their servers for free, just let me use my iCloud or Dropbox accounts since I already pay a lot for those services. 2) Not a fan of the app's branding logo on my videos. I really don't like PAID apps installing advertising for themselves on my creative content. But, I definitely don't want to pay on ongoing subscription to remove it. I feel like I'm being held ransom by this monitization scheme. SMH. Having said that... Their if WAY MORE good things about this app than the two annoying things mentioned above. Bravo!

Used to love. Now overpriced.. I’ve happily paid $30/year for the pro subscription. My last year’s subscription is not up and I’ve lost pro access and now am being asked to pay $50/year. I barely used enough of the pro feature to justify the $30/year but love having the option of changing clip length and volume of clips and love the final videos so I was willing to pay. The last couple of rounds of UI changes have made the app more difficult to use (I manage to not save clips and have to re-do my clips which was something that never happened before. I can no longer crop photos from portrait to landscape). I will finish out the year with my basic subscription (even though I thought I was paying for a full year of pro) and then I will be finding a more reasonably priced app for the future.

Everyone needs this app!. Everyone needs 1SE, but especially parents! I’m terrible at keeping a journal or marking a baby calendar for when firsts happen. But with this app I can document those important things so easily since I’m already taking so many photos every day. I used the free version until I had my second child and wanted her to have her own timeline. The price is 100% worth it! I love watching my kids grow through these videos and seeing how they change and progress. These videos are priceless for me and my family!

Such a great memory making app. This app is my favorite memory making app. It’s super simple to use, well thought out, and 1 second of video every day is such a fun way to document a year. I also love the freestyle type of project for vacations for an easily edited video of the trip. It’s truly one of handful of apps I use every single day. The only downside: I don’t actually like capturing video in the app. It has some trouble focusing. I think the video looks much better if taken using the OS’ camera (or any other favorite video capture app), and possibly even edit it for light/color before choosing it in 1SED.

Annoying date and location tag. Every clip has an ugly date and location overlay. I seriously can't believe this is still an issue after the big version 2 update! Give us the option to hide the date and location overlay in freestyle mode!! I don't need the date and location if every clip is from the same weekend and the font is gross. This app still lacks the customization it deserves for $4.99. if you're looking for an app that doesn't overlay an ugly font with the date and location, save your money and look elsewhere because this app has produced unshareable content for me with this unremovable date and location on every clip!! So annoying because I would love to share my videos but I hate seeing the date and location on every clip, it's ugly and I don't want it on freestyle mode. Please fix!!

Capture your life, and look back at the memories.. This app is fantastic. A simple and easy tool that is right at your finger tips. Every day for a year, 2 years, or even more, take a one second video of that day in your life. At the end of the year you’ll be able to look back and relive the good days and say things like, “oh! I remember that!” And remember the ups and downs of the entire year put together in one video. A user friendly app that does just that is all you need if you want to capture your life in a quick shot, and best of all, it’s FREE!

Favorite App, everyone should use it!. I first downloaded this in March of 2014 and ever since it has been by far my favorite app. It’s truly a great way to compile your memories - and in many ways it helps me to remember months and years gone by. Weeks and months that were previously forgettable I can now go back and view, remembering the smaller moments and the previously unmemorable days. The joy that comes with compiling a month of seconds is something I’ll never tire of. I recommend everyone use it. I even created a second timeline just to track the first year of our little puppies life - and what a pleasure that has been to go back and watch, seeing him grow from a small cute pup to the good good doggo he is today!

I proposed to my wife. At the three month mark, I knew that I was going to marry her. That night, when I came home, I wrote the words I wanted to tell her. I planned on the day, 7 months in advance, and I made a 1SE video. I used one word per day to express what I wrote down and I handed her the phone on the night that I proposed. It was perfect and it gave us something that we’ll be able to show our grandkids one day. I’m grateful for the ability to have been able to do it. We’re still happily married and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Take short clips with your loved ones. You’ll be glad you did.

Love this app but it has some bugs. I’ve been using this app since january 1st of this year. I really enjoy it for what it’s intended for! It’s a lot of fun to look back. However, there’s one glitch that really annoys me and it has happened twice now. You are able to record your clip for the day in the app using quick record. And I usually use this method because it’s easier than open iphone camera app and then swiping to the video. So my problem is that twice I’ve recorded and then the video disappeared. It isn’t in my camera roll which all other clips save to. So now I missed out on my clip from the activity I was doing earlier. I hope they fix it because it’s really annoying and disappointing when I realized I need another clip.

Features no longer accessible. Last year I was able to add two snippets, create multiple projects, and adjust videos up to 1.5 seconds. But ever since the most recent update I can no longer do that. I wanted to delete a current project I have to start a new one, but I am unable to do that because I can only work with one at a time, but I can’t delete unless I make a new project. PLEASE FIX THAT. The pro subscription has taken away the original features that made me buy this app in the first place. This monthly/yearly subscription is getting out of hand and is giving us user very limited access unless we pay for the subscription, as if we already didn’t have to pay for the app itself. This app needs to address the greed that is behind the subscription and give its users the ability to use the old features that I have mentioned above.

Rebuying your already purchased content.. 1 Second Everyday has been a really awesome part of my year. It’s allowed me to document my last months in high school, my relaxing and fun filled summer vacation, and the exciting new experiences I’ve had during my first semester of college. When I bought the app (almost exactly a year ago), it was somewhere between 5-10 dollars... I don’t remember the price exactly. However, what I do remember was thinking to myself, “this will be a worthwhile investment.” Up until this point in time, this thought had been true. But with the release of 1se’s pro-subscription content, comes the restriction of loads of features that came readily available with the original purchase of the app. You can no longer add two clips to a given day, or make a clip longer than 1 second. I know this complaint seems small, but it’s completely changed the way I experience this application that I already payed for. I still think this experience was worth the original investment, but I’m not going to pay more to use features that were already available to me. I’m just not going to use 1se again. Best, J

$50 a year is what you’re looking at!. This app seems like such a great idea until you find out it will cost you 50 freaking dollars a year to do more that add a 1 second video per day to up to only 2 projects. Yes, they tease you with the ability to create up to two projects but guess what?! You can’t even add a 1 Second Everyday video to both projects. Isn’t that the ENTIRE point of this app?! The remedy: pay $50 per year for unlimited snippets and projects. But what if you only want 2 snippets a day instead of unlimited? Same price. Very frustrating. I would be down for $20 a year for a middle tier. As it stands, this app is nice but waaaaaay over priced for what it actually does. No thanks, let me know when you add another tier of pricing. ✌🏼

change it back please!. I never write reviews for literally anything so that just shows how bad this update really is. The app used to be so easy to use but with this new vertical version it is so difficult to even add the content for the day. It’s less visually attractive and I feel as though it was definitely more user friendly the way it used to be, horizontally. To me the social media layout with a profile and a feed does nothing for me and is pretty useless. I’m not interested in seeing the feed that is presented within the app. I bought this app so I can work on my in app projects and that’s it. I used to love this app but this update has kinda taken the joy of adding a new second everyday because it is so difficult to use. This app means a lot to me, as well as the projects I make on this application. I think many users, including myself, would rather have the former, more accessible version.

Wonderful way to preserve memories. My memories often get lost in the hum drum of raising teenagers in suburbia. I'm an amateur photographer at best but love looking back at photos and our lives. This has been one of the best ways to preserve our fleeting time on this earth. It forces me every day to journal and remember what happened every day even if it's just taking a silly picture of my adorable dog. I recently upgraded and it's worth every penny. I can't recommend this enough. I love going back and watching all the little moments that make up our lives. I highly recommend this app for its ease of use and its wonderful way at getting us to slow down and enjoy life.

Basic Journaling no longer free. I’ve created a year-long video for the past two years using only a free account, and I LOVE them. Looking back at the videos is one of my highlights at the end of the year now. The basic features of the app have worked great for me, and I don’t need anything fancy. So I went into the app (Jan. 2023) to start a new journal for this year, and now it won’t let me start one without a yearly $50 subscription. Yikes! Despite my love for the app, that price point is way too high, and I don’t need yet another subscription in my life. I’ve seen responses from the developer on other reviews saying that basic journaling is still free, so they obviously don’t know what the app is telling their users. Literally every option for creating a new project (of any type) is now behind the Pro upgrade paywall. I’ll be searching for alternatives.

LOVE. Before trying this out, I never knew an app like this ever existed. I stumbled upon it randomly while on my phone one day & accidentally downloaded it oddly. It ended up being a happy accident. I love the whole idea behind this app. It’s very unique & something that allows me to actually WANT to journal or take the time out of my day to record memories good or bad, & be able to look back on them whenever I want to, & the biggest thing, it being good for my mental health by being able to get out whatever is on my mind by posting these daily snippets or entries. LOVE this app!

I wish I had this app sooner!. With 1 second every day I was able to capture the beginning of me and my wife’s marriage, our first pet, and countless family memories. I cannot urge people enough to download this app. Being able to catch a moment of every day gives such a beautiful perspective on life. I look and see more notable moments throughout my day, and once you get past the “I have to look everyday for a second” and just let your seconds find you, you’ll see what countless other people love about this app! I subscribed to the pro version to help me capture even more though it’s optional at least try the app to decide. It’ll be worth it either way

3 year user!. I love this app! It started as a New Year’s Resolution for me one year, and I loved it so much that I’ve never missed a day in all this time. The newest version is great in terms of editing and rotating video and also adding captions and mood if you want! It takes a few more “clicks” to enter your video but that’s okay. One suggestion I have is to make a “memories” feature. Since I’ve been using it for years now, it would be great to have a space where I could easily see this date’s vids from prior years! (Note: you can see any snip from any day at any time, this would just make it simpler). Thanks, 1SE! Keep up the great work!

Less awesome. This app is still good, and I appreciate the fact that there is a free level of membership, BUT the newest update is a negative change. A basic feature that I counted on is GONE unless I pay: I only get 1 snippet a day, not 2. I often use photos, not video clips, and I counted on that second image to capture the day. And, as lots of other people have said, the app got more complicated now. Maybe the new features the upgrade adds are amazing. I don't know. I want to be able to do what I was doing already. That really worked for me - and I was recommending it to everyone. It's not that I resent paying. This kind of app costs money to run. The problem is, the upgrade is not cheap, and there's no middle level for those of us who need to limit spending. Making this change during the COVID crisis, when lots of people are struggling to pay rent and buy food? Well, that just seems ... I won't say greedy, but it's definitely less than empathetic. Overall? Still a good app. If you download now, you'll probably like it a lot, and you won't miss what you never had. But for those of us who were already here? It just got a little less shiny.

Colors. Having missed days in the calendar be the same color as days with video is very confusing. I used to be able to tell immediately if I had not taken a video for the day, when the box was grey. But now with all the days being the same color I find myself missing many days. My 3rd year is not getting off to a great start since I updated. *** In response to developer. I am not confused. I understand the concept of the film icon showing on days where there is media. What my complaint is about is that the new update is more subtle than the original app. All the days are the same color regardless if there is media for that day or not. Different colors was a good thing. Your pasted “help” response has nothing to do with my complaint.

Love it but fix it to save automatically. I love this app and have written about my day for the last three years. But please fix that it doesn’t automatically save the diary portion without having to press the “done” button!!! I have had multiple times where I’ve spent an hour writing about my day, and the app crashes right before I finish, or I briefly switch apps to come back to my entire journal having been deleted. It makes me want to cry because there are details that I don’t remember when I write it the second time and I’m less specific because I’m wasting even more time trying to remember what I wrote in the first place. It’s frustrating!!!

New Update is Awful. I’ve been using this app a for almost four years now. I love it!! Even with all the updates, I’ve never had any issues. However, this newest update makes the app almost completely unusable. So much more clicking and navigating to just upload a daily second. I have always just taken my second videos on my phone and save them to my camera roll, and then once or twice a month I would upload them to the app. With the new update, I can only upload one or two days worth of clips before the app crashes. This thing crashes CONSTANTLY. I haven’t come across an app that crashes this much and this regularly in years. And if it’s not crashing, it’s lagging. It makes the simplest tasks a huge overtaking. I feel like they completely over complicated things and now the app can barely keep up. It’s a real pain!!!

Great app but.... I started using this app to document 2019 after a friend shared her 1SE for 2018. Such a fun idea and well designed and easy to use app. Most of all, I love taking a moment to document one second everyday. However, I am really annoyed that you can only add one clip per day without paying the ridiculous $39/year to upgrade to pro. Inserting two clips a day would literally be the only pro feature I would use so am hesitant to invest $39 for only 12 months. If there was a pro version of the app I would gladly pay a one time fee but am uncomfortable with the subscription format. Please bring the two clip a day feature to the free app!

A good app with ridiculous subscription option. I bought this around the beginning of the year and have really enjoyed using it. However, this new subscription model that came with the most recent update seems greedy and unnecessary. The idea of keeping pretty basic features (brightness controls, 3 second snippets) gated behind a paywall is extremely frustrating. Partly because you have to pay for the app to begin with, but also because it is a monthly subscription. These kinds of ways of monetizing customers borders on predatory. If it were a free app, it’d make a bit more sense, but asking customers to drop more money is honestly kind of ridiculous when the features being offered don’t justify the subscription model. I will continue using the version I paid for, but now will be more wary of any further updates or apps this developer puts out.

I love this app. This app routinely gives me the best part of my day, which is thinking about the day and reflecting on how I want to remember it. I take small videos throughout the day - another benefit, as I am a much keener observer - and at night, when I choose a snip, my day is there before me in just the best way. I do not only choose highlights, because some days are memorable for troubles, and that helps me anchor my life away from a totally curated and not-real Instagram view. I really love the app, and have gotten several friends to use (and love!) it, and gave it as gifts to my daughters who have very young kids. It’s my favorite app on my phone and in my life.

Need the ability to login/change devices!. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this app! It is such a great way to get a little capsule of your year—and my husband is doing one specifically of our puppy from the first day we got her, which is fun to watch! However, there needs to be a way to save your video to an account and move it to another device. As it is now, if I broke or lost my phone, my whole video would be gone! And more than that, I always have problems with storage space on my phone, and this app takes up a ton of storage once you’ve reached 3 or 4 months of clips! I would love to be able to move my project to my iPad and work on it there, but there is no “account” associated with my video. I hope this gets resolved soon, cause it’s a great app!

I lost everything. I have been using this app since January 1st in order to create a cute digital memory book of 2019. I have been super good about remembering to record at least 1 second everyday! I recently switched from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone XS Max and when I re-downloaded the app and logged in — it was to my surprise that the “free” version of the app only allows iCloud to backup 5 snippets. So now I am stuck with my memories from January 1st-5th and I LOST EVERYTHING ELSE. I refuse to pay for an app like this. I’m extremely disappointed that the developers are this greedy. I don’t understand the logic behind only allowing 5 of MY PERSONAL videos to backup???? You’re seriously going to make me pay for what IS MINE?!?!!?! I just hope no one else makes the mistake I did by downloading an app that will scam you out of your own memories & videos

Turning into a bloatware. I love this app and have been using it since inception. Within the years more functions as been added and I welcome many like the 1.5 second and the new zoom effect for photos, but it’s getting too bloated with unnecessary options like additional timelines, video editor, advertisements for pro versions, cloud services, or unnecessary sound effects. All this goes piling up and it makes it more difficult for people to navigate and use. I never had to dig on the setting menu before trying to remove that annoying sound effect that sounds even when I have the volume all the way down on my phone. I have to constantly delete additional timelines that appear. I just want the simple old 1SE to add a 1 second of a video or photo every day. Nothing else.
