The best couch to 5k app. I’ve been a fan of Zombies! Run for a while but stopped running after an injury. The 5k App is getting me back in shape gradually. Unlike other couch to 5k programs, this app breaks up the running with other simple exercises to keep your legs in shape. The story is well integrated too, so the run isn’t boring. You can even stream music in the background.

I am a runner!. Just completed my couch to five K program final mission ran entire five K with out walking! When I started I could not run for a full minute. I am so thankful for the creators of this app and very proud of my self. If you are thinking of trying this out, do it! Fun story which lays some ground work for the actual zombies run app. Trust the process, even cheat a little if you need to, repeat a mission if you need to ! But trust the process. The final mission was extra cool as each of the characters come to congratulate you. I loved this app, now on to Zombies run!

Not always accurate. I really enjoy the variety in drills this app provides, and love that each day there’s a different part of the story. I always do this on a treadmill, though, and have my phone on the stand rather than in my pocket because I like to keep track of the time. 1 - even though I have the settings to track steps rather than GPS the app doesn’t believe I’m going anywhere because my phone isn’t in my pocket. 2 - some of the descriptions for each day aren’t what is actually done each day. For example, week 6 says run 12 min but it’s actually walk fast for 5 and free form run 7. Week 6 day 1 has you run 7 min walk 2 min twice but the last 7 min run is actually 8 min. Sometimes the amount of time that is noted isn’t accurate. These are all things I can get past but still simple annoyances to fix.

Only First Three Weeks Are Free. This a very fun app! Getting back into running after 3 yrs and without a running buddy, this helps fill that gap. The workouts are well thought out and the story is simple but fun and encouraging. Works well with music, but not audiobooks, as the app doesn't pause the music/talk, but just lowers it while they speak. I paid the $35/yr for the rest of the program. When I’m done I hope I get my $ worth out of my Zombies, Run subscription.

The only 5K Trainer That Works. I’ve never finished it because I don’t follow instructions and keep hurting myself. (Take days of when they tell you to). Not only odd the story engaging enough to keep you interested, but the actual exercise design actually accomplishes the goal! I improve so much and feel so motivated that I run on off days and without guidance go too hard.

Get this app. This app has pushed me farther and harder. I was in the army for years and had to run daily... I hated it! For the first time ever I enjoy running and it is due to this. You get a story while your working out and nothing motivates you more then the sounds of a zomb on your tail!

I’m actually looking forward to running. Great app that’s lots of fun. The only feedback I have is that after my run is done, I can’t see the story tab for very long. I click on it and opens for 1-2 seconds and then it closes back up again so i have to keep on clicking on it to read about my reward.

Prepping to my first half marathon at 52 yo. I have the whole package of ZR apps now. This January I suddenly even to myself decided to run half marathon this fall. At the age of 52. Yep. First race ever. And I hated running since school bit started appreciating run “me time”, zen state, and how I am proving to myself that I can do this too. Now I am halfway through 5K, next will be 10K, 10K+, and then Half Marathon Zombies Run prep app. Fun way to get ready! Will see in September, how well the program is designed from a running training standpoint ;) I am now even thinking to get myself a ZR t-shirt for the run, just as a thank you for helping me to get ready and achieve this fit!

Good in concept but doesn’t work. The story is cute and the prompts are good but it won’t save my runs. I complete the audio and it says I’m done, but No matter what I do it says there’s a run in progress if I try to end the run. There’s no way to end and save it. I even left the app open an hour thinking it would maybe end automatically but no. Can the developers let me know what to do to get this saved and track my progress? Thanks!

Great training, buggy interface. The actual training is great, with stellar voice acting and a beginner-friendly program that ramps up each week. However, the menu lags so much that it takes forever to navigate to the correct training option—it can take me up to five minutes of waiting around and restarting the app (as it sometimes crashes while loading the later weeks). I’ve never had the app crash or act up once I’ve started a run, it’s just the menu.

Cannot reach support. Trying to use Zombie 5K training as I purchased Abel Running for 1 year. But I’m unable to get a zombies and or whatever login ID. I can’t send a support message without that ID. Tried to give it my email address now to set it up but it doesn’t work. Tried to do the same and restore purchase as it’s all through the Apple App Store, but it tells me to enter a real email address. It absolutely a real address in working order. This is the only way I hope I can receive tech support.

10k Please. I love this app as much as I love the primary ZR ZR app. Whenever I’ve fallen into a bit of ac rubbing rut I use this program to it me back up to top shape. While I know the primary app has a version of 10k training that sets times and runs, I would absolutely pay for a 10k version like this one with a separate story line and the daily perks to train. There is something so much more fulfilling about the daily cards tracking your progress that really keeps you on track. I hope the developers have considered this option. Thank you for all you do

Can’t tell if the app is working correctly.. I started the first run and heard the story start and the first instructions from the radio operator. I started my run and then... silence. The app never told me anything. I ran for about 26 minutes (the app said the workout takes about 22) and checked my phone. When I opened the app the story resumed. I can’t tell if it was conflicting with my music, which it shouldn’t, or what but it doesn’t say how far or where to go- it will probably let you run forever unless you take your phone out of the running case and ask it what to do next. Expected better.

I am able to run a mile now in 11 minutes. This app is great despite a few crashes here and there. I started this training a year ago and I’m now able to run for 15 minutes non stop. A year ago, I couldn’t even run 2 minutes heck, let’s be honest, before I started my weight loss journey, I couldn’t do a minute running. I’m a slow starter but I’m so proud that even after a couple months off, I’m still able to run a mile in 11 minutes. I’m almost done with my training but I’m hoping by the end of it, I can run a 5 k non stop. I want to be able to keep up with my cousin.

Fun Way to Get Started. If you’re wanting to get into running this is a great way to get into it. It’s also a decent way to decide if you’re going to be into the larger app as a whole. I used this app to learn how to run and if it weren’t for this I wouldn’t have known how to take it on.

A great app!!!. I've never consistently exercised at all, maybe when I was a little kid, but definitely not in my teenage years. However, yesterday I completed all 8 weeks of this app and it was so much fun! I never knew running could be as enjoyable as it was while doing this training. I didn't think I would be able to finish 8 weeks of any kind of exercising, so being able to do it all was an amazing feeling. I downloaded Zombies, Run! a few years ago and never really used it because I couldn't run much, but now I feel like I am in good enough shape to get more into it. I love exercising now, which I never thought I'd ever say that in my entire life.

Best run app ever. This app is amazing!! I use to be in shape until I had my son and well the rest is history or so I thought. This makes it fun to work out again and you don’t even know your pushing yourself that hard. I’m excited to keep playing!! I’ve even told my family and coworkers about this. They are excited to give it a shot.

Do not give access to Apple health. For the love of god, don’t give it health data write privileges to this app. Multiple times it has completely screwed up my activity data and even beyond that it only decides to actually record that you worked out about once in a blue moon to Apple health (both times it’s done so to me have been when I unfortunately forgot to end my run and it decided to write a 99 hour work out to my health kit which took forever to fix)

Love this!. This app is by far top five for me. I have never had an issue, it let’s you play music in the background. I keep wanting more no matter how many times I fall off personally this app helps me stay working towards my goal. To boot it also has a great storyline that makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger!

Good running app for beginners. I started out barley able to run a mile straight through and almost no experience on running. I maybe had a 13 min mile. I have been doing this program for 8 weeks and my mile time is now 8:27! This app is great to use as motivation and helped me with my endurance so much! I am now very fit and happy! I did hear other complain of bug problems and issues but I have had none so far *knock on wood*. Honestly this app changed my lifestyle and I’m going to get the next app after I’m done with the program!

Developer doesn’t care that app not working. This is the response I was given after I notified the developer that the app didn’t fit my screen correctly, I’m running IOS 12.4.1 and it shows compatible with my device in the AppStore, “The app is compatible with iPad and will generally run normally on the iPad, we don't have any plans to change how it displays on larger screens. I'm sorry to disappoint you there.” This is horrible customer service, they obviously don’t care about their app and have no plans to keep developing it. Uninstall. This is latest response from the Developer below, he/she isn’t interested in updating the app to fix resolution for iPads, even though it clearly indicates this app is compatible with iPads, they are asking iPad users to settle for mobile phone screen dimensions on an iPad screen, which is beyond insulting ; Hi, Thanks for getting back to me! The app works fine on iPad. It will still play the audio and track runs. The only difference is that the screen size remains at mobile resolution. All the best, Ciaran

The Best 5K Trainer. I’m now using this trainer for the third time, and I love it just as much as I did the first time I used it. The story is fun and interactive, and the running training itself is the best I’ve tried. I recommend this app to anyone who tells me they’re interested in starting running.

Love Running Now!. I have hated running since I was a kid. But when I wanted to lose weight, running was one of the most efficient was, so I dreaded the treadmill everyday. That is... till I started running with the Zombies. Now I can’t wait for the next run! Slimming down quickly too... thank you!

Would be good... if it worked.. I did the intro run and everything ran smoothly. I’m not really into zombie stories but I was enjoying the characters, voice acting, etc. Then I started the Week 1 Day 1 run, and it worked great... up until the very end. Just as I was finishing the run, my entire phone restarted. No data was saved. I was frustrated, but I’d finished the run, so I went on to the next day’s run a few days later. Started the initial walk, and then wondered why the scientist was silent when it had certainly been 10 minutes. Checked my phone to find the app had crashed. I restarted the app and started the run again, but there was no way to skip forward past the parts I’d already completed (a feature in the last C25K app I was using). On top of that, it wouldn’t even finish the intro before the app crashed again. On top of the crashes, the app is an enormous drain on my battery. The previous C25K app I used did not have that problem. It’s a good app in theory... but I can’t use an app that crashes like this. If the devs fixed the crash problems, they’d have a great app, and I’d have fun. But until this is fixed, I’m going to have to go back to my other C25K app.

Works amazingly well. Entertaining and more important, following the program I went from barely able to run to finishing the 5k - and really enjoyed the process. The app does have a few bugs here and there, but overall worked great and thankful it got me running again! Excited to switch to the main app now :)

Great app for training!. I recently got this app because I have Zombies, Run!, and I had no time to exercise due to being in college, but now I’m starting back running and this app is the best to help you get faster when running. I’m starting to notice that I’m getting a faster pace from it. The only part that is sad is that when I’m jogging or sprinting from imagining zombies, it is not tracking how many miles I have gone. I also wish that there is an Apple Watch feature, because I have to track how many miles I have gone from looking at my workout app on the watch. But overall I give this app a 4.5 star rating.

A little buggy but I can get over it. I really enjoy the original Zombies, Run app and decided to buy the 5k app to improve my running as it’s pretty poor. I ended up buying the full version so I could do all of the missions, which I probably wouldn’t have done if I knew it was going to become so buggy after the fourth week. The timer doesn’t always work right, so I’m stuck unlocking my phone to force it to the next segment if I wonder how long it’s been. It’s almost like the game times out and doesn’t give you the prompts to run or walk. Once I turn on my phone though, it will “catch up” and give me ALL the prompts at once. It isn’t normally more than an inconvenience since it removes one cycle from my workout, but my runs routinely go 15-20 minutes over the time they should now, which I have to account for so I’m not late for work in the morning.

Challenging jump week 2-3. I love this app, and I don’t have crashing problems but the challenge level from week 2 to 3 is way too much. 2 has a total of 10 Min free form run, 3 has 21 min (in 5 , 8, and 8 min chunks.) left me frustrated and unable to finish the day. It’s going to take me longer than 1 week to make it through week 3, I’m afraid

Well worth the money.. I went through the entire program. At the beginning I was gasping for breath after 15 seconds. By the end I ran 5K and then some with no issues. At week 4 I paid for 1 month which saw me through the rest of the program. I’m going to download the main app now and pay for the full year. Well worth it. I still can’t believe the difference it made in just 8 weeks.

Disappointed. UPDATE: app crashes and loses my workouts after I finish them. I can’t even fast forward through it again so it can be marked as complete. I just let it go through it again while I go about my business. Annoying AF. The walk/run cues are not working correctly. It was "run for 15 seconds ok great now walk". I ended up counting my own 15 seconds just to do the workout. Has nobody heard of a soft opening? Have people try it and then work out the bugs before you release it? Very disappointed in you all. Get it together.

Fun but buggy. I've had the audio cut itself off more than once and there's currently no way to replay the unlocked audio tracks to hear what I've missed. This is a pretty big flaw in an app built on telling a story. It's really inconvenient that the only way to hear story elements that I've missed is to do the entire mission over again and I'm not really willing to give up another 50 minutes just because the audio bugged out.

Old Runner.. I got Zombies, Run! (The main app) when it first came out and loved it. Now, years later, I'm nowhere close to where I used to be, but wanted to keep with the idea-the Abel township story was what used to keep me running regularly. So when I went to re-download it, I found this! Perfect!!! It has the perks of hearing the Doctor and Sam Yao, but with a motivating, encouraging storyline. Keep it up!

It just works!. I’ve tried a lot of apps and this one is just great! With others either music doesn’t work or the program is just not what I need....love the free form runs! I would really like to choose the next workout without scrolling through the pages. Also, when I click on stop after my run, it takes quite a while to complete.

Great concept but super frustrating delivery. The story line is awesome and it’s such a fun and interesting idea. However, I’ve had the app freeze and then crash continuously. This wouldn’t be such a big deal if there were some way to skip sections like in other c25k apps, but instead you’re totally stuck redoing your run over and over until the app stops crashing. I eventually just deleting and downloaded something else. It’s too frustrating to be halfway through a run only to find out the app froze long ago and you have to start all over. I would totally download again if they found a way to fix the issues. Bummer!

Great training overall. Nearly finished the 8 weeks and I have to give credit where it’s due. Very well designed program, you’ll certainly improve over the training period if you follow the apps lead and push yourself to improve. Unfortunately, it does have an occasional tendency to crash during training. Initially I thought it could be because I was tracking with my Fitbit as well as the app (sharing gps), but having switched to a Garmin tracker with built in gps, I’ve still had the app crash. Not a lot, but enough to be frustrated by it. The lack of a auto save so that you can restart where you left off in case of a crash is disappointing. Overall, if you want to get in shape, this is a great utility.

15 second fix, yay!. I love this app! Mine does not crash, but the 15 second walk run drills were definitely not always 15 seconds. So I’m excited Six to Start is fixing this bug. The voice acting is great! You get to know some of the secondary characters better, and the overall tone is lighter and more optimistic than the main game. (The plot if the 5k trainer takes place early in the first season of the main game.) I adore the main game too of course.

Okay app overall.. I loved this app! I’ve never been a runner. The only time I’ve ever run was in P.E. class in school! I’m 29 now and decided during quarantine to try to be more active. I was supposed to start week 4 today, however I was disappointed when the app asked me to upgrade/purchase a subscription to complete the rest. I’m not looking to pay for a subscription at the moment and was led to believe this app was completely free. I wish I would’ve known they’d ask you to purchase in the middle of the 8 week program. At least, give people 4 weeks then ask us to subscribe and put a clear warning in the first tutorial off the app! Overall, I do thank you for helping me get to where I am at this point.

If it can help me, it can help anyone. I am not a motivated person, and I previously hated running, but this app got me running and loving it. I look forward to my runs and get excited about them. The story and characters are compelling, the coaching and encouragement are awesome. I love completing a mission and feeling like I’ve accomplished something big, when all I really did was run on my treadmill. This app was exactly what I needed to get exercising. I’ve enjoyed getting more fit and more confident, and can’t wait to graduate to Zombies, Run!

Ran longer than I ever have before!. Last fall, I started using ZombiesRun5K to see if I can run longer. At first, I was embarrassed and felt dumb that I could barely run the 10 seconds the app would ask. On Week 4, I found myself running nonstop to a full 3-minute song. I’ve never been able to do that in my entire life, and I was in track in high school! Best advice: stick with it! I had to stop cuz of winter weather, but I’ll be kicking back up again in April. The story makes me want to keep going :D

Motivating!. Nothing motivates you to run quite like trying to escape a zombie right behind you. As a beginning runner, I really appreciate the story to accompany my running, and I’m already working toward some of my PRs and goals for running. The workouts have a nice variety as well which helps with a generally unmotivated trainer such as myself.

Great app for aspiring runners or anyone looking to get more active.. First, the training is great. I’m not, and have never been a runner, but feel great and am about to run a 5K after finishing every other training session. Story is good, obviously a starter, but great for anyone into podcasts or audiobooks. I did run into some bugs though - not all my runs would sync with Activity app until I reinstalled the app and occasionally the app would lose its place in the story. I restarted a workout because of this and now didn’t get credit for my Week 8 Workout 2 even though it shows up in my run logs. Overall, highly recommended and definitely trying the regular app.

Only missing one thing. I’ve had this app for years and love the pacing and story lines. There are occasional glitches where runs are cut short or the narrator forgets to tell you to stop, but really the only missing element is the ability to track my pace through my Apple Watch rather than through the phone. I know the watch doesn’t run GPS, but it would be nice to have the ability to sync to the watch for treadmill runs to get an accurate pace/distance in the log.

Great training app!. I absolutely love this running app. Before trying this I couldn’t keep a steady pace for too long but now with the training I can run constantly for a good amount time and seeing improvements every time I run with the Zombie 5k. Love the story with the run just like the regular Zombie Run and always look forward to having this on when I’m running. I’m hoping the app can have further training after I’m done going through all the runs.

Finally finished it and worth it. Took me three times to finish it, because of life getting in the way, but worth it. This app really is great and keeps you motivated. I could barely run 3 minutes when starting, now just ran straight for 45 minutes. The app has some issues but just reload and was fine.

Good for beginners or former athletes looking to get back in shape. The stability issues other reviews have mentioned seem to have been fixed. This is a good couch to 5 k program with a gradual ramp up and a fun story that keeps you coming back. There is a lot of unstructured “free form run” time (you decide how much to run or walk)which allows it to be a good program for all levels of starting fitness, but also structured drills that guide you to keep improving each week. I’m halfway through and gotten to the point where I’m jogging the whole time for the (5-15 minute) free form runs, my blood pressure is down 20 points, and my pants are getting loose. I used to HATE running but this makes it fun!

Good training plan despite problems syncing. I started the training plan and am really enjoying it. My only complaint is that I lost data from one of my runs bc the data did not save properly. It would be nice to have a feature within the app that lets you log a run after the fact in the event that syncing problems happen.

You finish the run, but it doesn’t log anything. This is great for motivation to run. However it doesn’t log the runs and doesn’t give you credit for completing the workouts. You just have to remember which ones you've done. You can’t compare to prior workouts unless you have a fitness tracker or something. It says the gps signal is good, gives me voice cues about how fast I ran each mile, but then when I try to look at my run logs it says I haven’t done any.

Brilliant- what an entertaining way to get in shape!. First- the story production is fantastic, entertaining with some mystery. I did learn that you have to hit the stop button after your run otherwise it doesn’t log the run. I also had one issue where I had to restart my phone because the app was frozen but despite this I still give this app 5 stars. Unlike other ‘couch to 5k’ programs, they don’t bleed your bank account dry with a monthly fee. I was looking for a 5k trainer that was different and reasonably priced- this is it! I applaud what you do- thanks for creating an entertaining way for me to get in shape.

Missing heart rate, occasional crashes. I’ve occasionally had the app crash on me when running in the background. It’s annoying because you don’t know immediately - you just get suspicious when you haven’t heard any audio cues in awhile. There’s no way to start the mission where you left off either, so when you restart the app, you have to start the mission over from the beginning. At the very least, it would be nice to skip the warmup walk. One request would be to track heart rate via the Apple Watch. Surprised this feature isn’t in the app already. Otherwise, a nice couch-to-5k app that’s more interesting than most!

Good app, has some problems. This app is exactly what I needed to get me running again. The story isn’t /really/ a story as it is with the regular zombies, run app, but it’s enough to keep me engaged and make me want to keep going. It does crash semi regularly though, especially with the run tracker set to “constant” and there’s no way to start back up where you left off after that, so just keep that in mind. Update: It has crashed 4 out of the last 5 times I’ve used it. I think I’m beginning to figure out what makes it crash but it’s suuuuuuuper irritating. If you’re like me and you’re doing this in part because you like getting the little “well done!” notices and stamps at the end DO NOT USE THIS APP; it’s causing me a lot of stress and making me want to give up entirely. For less of a chance of it crashing turn on step tracking, keep your screen on, and do Not exit the app at any time during the workout. That includes pulling down the shortcuts screen. It might still crash even then, but it will more likely to not. Good luck.

aWSOME!. I have been waiting for this to come out since they started hinting about it 6 months ago. was pretty good, if you are having trouble with the music you need to change your default music player in the in game options of this app, the first few runs the intervals are pretty short, to try and build up your stamina. I love this game and the whole zombies run universe!

Amazing. Just broke my personal best running distance by 2extra kilometres. Great app.

Awesome. Get this app. I hate cardio but I can't wait to move onto the next days run. Great humor and nice storyline.

opion. could u add in the zombie chase please well if you do thanks

UPDATEEEEE PLEASEEEEE. please update ittttt

Full of bugs, run!. Not worth $0.99 until serious issues are resolved. -App stops playing for no reason. News to pause and un-pause to wake it up. -music stops playing randomly occasionally kicks back in but then the track will play over itself. -my last run had no soundtrack at all. -timer has issues keeping time so intervals are all off. -compared to the original Zombies Run, content is weak. A shame since content is what drives this product more than functionality. These are a few of the major ones. There are more. Stick with free apps as they pretty much make this one look silly and rushed.

Software Crashes, Run!. The little ap that could (but doesn't). I'm onto my final week, and must say this should be an excellent 5 star trainer. BUT it has not been updated since 2014, and it crashes. ALOT. Like some times 4+ times a run. Sure you can start roughly where you let up, but you have to stop mid run, and lose your distance, time and playlist tracking. This is an ap killer - pretty bad for a paid ap! Please update this back to its former glory!

It used to be good. Use to really enjoy this app, but it hasn’t worked properly for months — i.e. won’t start, which is really frustrating when you’re trying to get out the door for a run.

Big deal. I hate running. With a passion. This app makes me want to get out running...that’s a big call

Best 5K App!. Before Zombies Run I couldn't jog for more than a minute - just not a runner. Tried many of the couch to 5K apps and none really kept me motivated. This is the first I've finished. There is a bug where sometimes a song may not play from your playlist. I just quickly press pause and then play again (just pause for a second) and then the song starts. I can forgive that big cause the story and app is brilliant!

Still buggy. Despite updates between now and the last review, the app still crashes frequently when unlocking the phone during a workout. Thankfully, the app saves at the last voice prompt so you can pick up your workout where you left off, but it's treated as a second workout by the app's tracking website, ZombieLink. Some of the recordings are mistimed, as well, particularly during the running drills. Which is a shame as it's otherwise quite decent. The 'corkboard' menu doesn't look promising, but the exercises are more varied and flexible than other 5K apps, and the central premise - that you're being trained to locate and ferry supplies during a zombie apocalypse - does inspire a sense of panic and excitement during your workout, especially when zombie problems start intruding on your instructions. The story-based approach might have caused trouble for intermediate runners, but the workouts are adaptable depending on your skill level and energy.

So much fun. So much fun. Beats talking. Just wish there was a watch app?

No Update In Nearly 3 Years‼️. This app is looking old and the integration with iOS10 is non existent as it hasn't been updated in nearly three years. It would be good to have better compatibility with zombie link and HealthKit, Apple Watch. But the creators have seemed to have forgotten about this app.

buggy as all get-out. I'd love to give this app a great rating, since from what I've heard it's amazing, but it crashes every single time I try to open a mission. At the moment, this app is a complete waste of $2 since I am unable to access anything interesting or useful. Until this is fixed, don't make my mistake. All I can think is, thank god I didn't buy the full version.

Needs an update; still excellent. The story pacing can be less compelling than the main ZR app, one or two eye rolling moments (the scanners were clear, but now a zombie has appeared to chase me through the final stretch?), and a bug causes songs over 5 minutes to prevent any further music playing for the rest of the run. With all that, though, Alderman is an excellent writer, the cast are mostly of a very high calibre, and the exercises seem to be well thought out to make you push yourself. Overall, despite one or two issues, I can definitely recommend this to anyone who probably needs to get fit, but needs an incentive like a fun story. If they fixed the music bug, I'd probably up my review to 5 stars.

So much fun. This app is fantastic. I have used it a couple of time, it's a great way to get to the 5km mark. I really enjoyed the story and it doesn't motivate you to get out there and run. I can't recommend it enough. Great audio quality, great training program, and a fun story.

Love it!. The app started off a bit buggy for me but with the recent update it now works fine. Being a huge fan of the original Zombies Run app, I loved getting to know a bit more about the characters. It kept me entertained while running and top marks to the writers/actors for coming up with different ways to say "ok, start walking/running" & making it sound interesting. I'm not really a runner but am now on Wk 7 and am constantly surprised at how far I've come in terms of running. Highly recommend this app :)

Crash alert. Game crashes as you begin the training (5 seconds into audio) therefore can't give a fair star rating.

Excellent way to train!. I have struggled in the past with running. I've always wanted to use running as a method of keeping fit but always found it too dull. This app provides enough interest and motivation to stick to the training plan. The online component is well designed and interesting too. I have no doubt I will be able to complete the 5k next week when I attempt it - but even if I couldn't I would be happy with the progress and motivation that this app has provided.

Best 5K trainer out. Gamify all of the things.... but seriously following the storyline makes me regret the rest days in between episodes. The encouragement and support from the characters makes it almost feel like they are actually watching and helping you train I really feel part of this imaginary world that appears around me every time I go for a run and the exercises built in between the walk/run legs are a stroke of genius really adding interest and awareness to the way movement feels, I love skipping down the road because doctors orders 😉 who cares if anyone is watching it’s great fun

Please update. Please update the app so it will work on future versions of iOS, can it also be integrated into zombies run.

Pretty good so far. Really enjoyed my first run with this app today, looking forward to my next one! But a bit disappointed that you can't manually input workout data into your stats, as I work out on a cross trainer so can't use the GPS function. Would also love an integration with my BT heart rate monitor at some stage.

Fantastic app. Everything you want from a fitness trainer - tips, mixed activity and a bit of entertainment. Zombies 5k has all of this and more. I'm finding I WANT to go running again to get to the next part of the story - and I'm finding my stamina is improving and I'm feeling much better for it!

Bugs, run!. Awesome ideas but keeps crashing, can't finish the first mission.

Buggy update. I had been happily using this app without incident, when this morning I tried to use the updated version on my run. It crashed four times in the space of five minutes, leaving me to recreate the planned workout manually. It made me realise how much I've come to rely on this app; please fix the issues with this latest update so I can get back to enjoying it.

Hmmm. Music didn't play during the running section and every time it told me to run it said walk immediately after, just didn't seem to work properly. Music playlist had some type of error even though its the same playlist I use for Zombies, Run! Hopefully future updates will improve app but great idea and more interesting then other 5k training programs!

Awesome. When I first started running I couldn't run for more than a minute or two. I hated running, mainly because I sucked at it. Then I got this app, and it completely changed my perspective. The first few runs are pretty easy, but they slowly get harder and work you up to be able to run 5k. I can run 5k now! It really does work! And the storyline, oh the storyline, <3 . The only thing is that this app can be buggy at times, sometimes I'd have to stop and start the mission to get the audio to play, and the very last run (the 5k one) didn't ever say 'workout completed' even though I'd finished it. The benefits outweigh the bugs though. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a fun, effective couch to 5k program.

Extreme privacy invasion. Demands access to your media, location, and motion tracker before allowing access. None of these permissions is necessary to perform the core functions of the app.

Motivates the unmotivated!!!. I first heard about this app on Conan, & it sounded like the perfect solution to my procrastination to exercise (love basketball, surfing, karate etc. but I DETEST running!), & at first I expected zombies at every corner (apparently the full version has more zombies & more interactive for 'gamer' types). I did just get the full version so stay tuned...(btw they release v.2 very soon for iphone4 & beyond for FREE for those who already have V.1) I only have an iphone3 :( .Definitely recommend you do it at night in areas that aren't lit up like Christmas trees (provided you live in a relatively safe area - I take my overweight but ADHD pooch for peace of mind - though her constant zigzagging in front of me takes some getting used to). You can use it on a treadmill (just change settings I think). Really need to link up to the main site to get the most out of the gaming part of the app - if you like it buy the full version! For beginners though, I would get the 5k app first as it builds up at a very reasonable pace & allows you to choose the intensity to which you run at. If it can get me running - it can get anyone running!

Best return to run program!. Recently broke my foot and bought this as a return to run program. Works fantastically. I love not having to keep track of time intervals, the game does it all for you. Highly recommended and lots of fun!

DRM music fail. This would be a good app if I could play the songs I've legally purchased from iTunes. Instead I'm told I need to use iTunes Match because I have DRM restricted songs. The songs that are listed as being "restricted" are from albums I purchased from iTunes, it'll play other songs off the album but the ones listed. Fail.

Do it!!! Buy the app already!!. I FREAKING love this app!!! The best 2 bucks I ever spent. I'm currently in week 5 of training, and it is still as fun as when I first started. I was really unfit and out of shape (only had a baby 6 months ago), but this suited my fitness level. I love how it sync's with the zombie link website and shows GPS tracking of my runs with accurate distances and speed. I cannot speak highly enough. I can't wait to finish training and start using the original Zombies, Run app. P.S. I don't work for the developer, I'm just a boring old housewife who enjoys running away from zombies. ;)

This app works!. Before this app I couldn't run to save my life, but by the end of the 8 weeks I can now run 5km (with a PB of 33 minutes!) I really don't think I could have done it without the regular training and motivation this app gave me. Highly recommended for beginners!

Great idea but ruined by bugs. This really is such a good idea and a lot of fun it's a such a shame at the amount of bugs I've encountered. The music player barely works, it randomly stops all the time, on a couple of occasions the instructions stopped as well, forcing me to stop running and restart the app. Often the timings of drills were completely off, I would jog for two minutes and then be informed that I had run for 15 seconds! I wrote to the developers twice but have no reasonable response as yet. This really would be a 5 star app minus the bugs and I hope it can get fixed. Meanwhile I would save the cost and get one of the many free trainers that actually work.

Good Content, Bad App. The content of this app is really good quality, and really helped me improve my fitness. However, the app itself is awful to use. It’s so slow to open, and almost impossible to scroll across through the training modules. This makes it incredibly frustrating to use, which just makes me want to find another app. I wouldn’t recommend it unless they fix these issues.

Contains more bugs than features.. After a third mission where it stopped giving instructions or gave nonsense updates like telling me I'd run 15 seconds when I'd actually run slightly over 60, I'm ready to give up on this app. Whatever fun you get from the story line is completely ruined by having to watch the clock like a hawk so you know when it has stopped working. Buy one of the other 5K training apps instead. You'll very quickly lose confidence in this one.

It will get you running :). I'm already semi-fit but wanted something to get me into running more frequently and longer distances. This game is great, the voice actors have really got me wanting to complete the next stage of the game. It is pretty obvious though that the 5k version of Zombies, Run! is designed for people who have never left the couch before. I ride a 32km round trip for work 3 days of the week and also do group outdoor fitness once a week. The training in this game starts with a 10min walk, then intervals of 15 second runs with a 60 second "recovery". This is WAY too easy for anyone with a fitness level like me. I'll stick with it though and finish this version but really can't wait to start the full Zombies, Run! which is probably what I should have began with.

Buggy!. Intro mission consistently crashes for me on my iPhone 5s as soon as the music starts playing.

I can run!. I have always wanted to be able to run, but lacked the motivation, this App gamified running enough that I now look forward to early mornings, just so I can hear the next portion of the story. I finished this App last week and now I'm onto the main game. I can't recommend this highly enough, it's amazing :)

Great for beginners. I started out on the original Zombies, Run! app but found that instead of running I was spending a lot of time walking so I could run away from the zombs! Seeing as I bought the app for a fitness kick that was a bit sad. This, however, is exactly what I need - an interesting story that slowly gets you fitter without you noticing while keeping you engaged. Maybe then I can graduate to Zombies, Run!

Story Stops in the middle of missions. I really enjoyed this app at the start, however am noticing that issues with the app keep repeating. The story/narrative would randomly stop in a middle of a mission and then you wouldn’t know what to do next. The time keeps going but you can’t complete the mission. So then it fails to record that you have completed the mission.

Finished!. Thank you! First time I have ever finished a 5k run app! I have also lots 11kgs! Thanks for the interesting story loved it! Took me 3 months to finish but i did get to the end! 5k completed! Thank you! Now for Zombie, Run

Brilliant except for a few teething issues. I bought this app 3 weeks ago and I’m really enjoying it. It’s entertaining and I feel like I’m progressing comfortably. I also feel like I’m supported by a team of people - I know it’s just a story, but psychologically, it’s really great. I have so far had 2 glitches. The first was when the audio repeated itself during one of the trainings in week one. The second was when it stopped tracking my workout in week two. Neither of these are deal breakers, but there’s clearly a few issues that need to be worked through. A part from that, it’s a great app and I’m looking forward to graduating to the zombies, run full app!

Love the story... but would be better on the Apple Watch. I love the story and really enjoy the app to get me running again. But this would be much better with Apple watch integration.

Braaaiiinnnsss. I've done couch to 5k before but I find myself enjoying the variety and the story in Zombie5k more. Also, the support team are fantastic. Keep up the good work!

Love it! And I'm not a runner!. I used to dread the idea of even a walk but thanks to this app I walk/run three times a week with my dog and I can feel the change in strength in my muscles. Definite recommendation for beginners!

Absolutely Love it. Before I got this app I hated running, I saw this on best running apps for beginners and decided it would be a fun way to get fit for summer and next netball season

Run, baby!. I have SVT so increasing my heart strength gradually is really important. This app is amazing as it teaches you to build yourself up in increments, but also to not push yourself too hard you're struggling. I really recommend it for beginners like myself.

Subscription model is a bit of a scam. Great idea, but a monthly subscription at $10 is rich enough, never mind it barely gives you enough time to finish a couch to 5k routine in four weeks. Would be better if it paused audio. Would be better also if long stints of activity had some sort of audio... the story feels so disconnected at times I found it hard to keep interest led. Probably would be great for a simple $5 app, but $10 a month subscription for about 60 minutes worth of audio certainly doesn’t feel like value.

This program won't work for most. I wish I hadn't bought this. It's useless to new runners. I know because this is my second new start. The first time I used C25K and it was fab. I became a good runner with that as a base but I wanted to try something new. Someone who hasn't ran before needs structure such as run for 30 seconds, walk for 90 seconds etc. That is how one learns to run without overdoing it. To be told 10min of free run is just doomed to fail. I love the main zombie run app though but I wish I could get my money back on this one. Utterly useless. I'll go back to C25K.

New runner- thank you!. I couldn't have done it without this app. I've been trying to become a runner for years, but my asthma has always gotten in the way. However, the way that this app progressed from the level of a very beginner to a 5k runner made it possible for me to keep up! Not only that, but on my first 5k run I actually ran 6.5k :) I would recommend this app to anyone! I'd love it if they came out with a 10k app as well.

A really nice idea. I have “tried” learning to run before, on a variety of programs. “Tried” here being a euphemism for running on schedule for a week but then subsequently finding an excuse for not doing it again. “It is too hot, it is too rainy, it is too cold.” But it turns out that all I was lacking this whole time was the option to pretend that there were zombies chasing me. The story is interesting and has kept me running long after most other things can. (Real zombies would have me running like Usain Bolt though!) As for the program itself, it is literally designed to take you from nothing to 5k, so if you have any kind of running background the first few weeks will probably be pretty slow for you. That being said, the program also seems to advance pretty quickly, and hitting week four has been a challenge for me. Not entirely sure I’ll make it through on schedule! It would be nice if there were some kind of flexibility built in for people who cannot advance as quickly. Operationally the app runs smoothly, and i have not had a problem with glitches or crashes so far. I always play music in the background, but have also run an Interval timer during some of the longer free form runs, and this works smoothly through it all. Satisfied overall, and would like to see more apps of this type.

Great app but keeps crashing!!. The app is great but it keeps crashing at random points in my run, then when I reopen it I can’t swipe at all.

Bugs. It's a great experience until you reach 4.9k and then the app crashes and you need to restart with no progress saved.

Needs some work- but ok so far. Giving it a 3 because it crashed- and although it didn't bump me to the very beginning of the run I was still annoyed that I got bumped back to do another sprint that I had just finished. It also recorded my time from when it crashed- it didn't take me 12 min to complete the first round (should have been around 35min)- so it'll be hard to track progress. I would also like to be able to see a generated map of where I ran from my phone. Think it'd be nice to see on a map after... As well as a map to show all completed runs so I can eventually see how much further I got each time. Would also like the app to be more integrated- and not have to log on to website. I will up the stars when these happen. I have a few other integrated work out apps that track progress / make specific recommendations so I know it's not far fetched. I do like it though and haven't given up on it yet. there is room for improvement... but it did get me out of the house early to actively run from zombies, there's also a good story line too- like someone is reading a great book to me ... Takes my mind off of how embarrassed I am trying to run in public ;)

They really bombed this update. Eats battery like crazy, timing in workouts is all off, doesn't show workouts as completed, restoring purchases is a nightmare. Don't see why this had to be updated, and I feel like they didn't do any testing before release.

Used to be Awesome. I have to re download it before every run because it just crashes on start otherwise. Garbage.

Only reason I started enjoying running. Always really disliked running, but this gave me the motivation (or distraction) to get started. Now, I find myself thinking “what a nice day, would be good for a run”, or “maybe I don’t need extra music to distract me today”. 5k Trainer is a great place to start, and once you have enough self motivation to do more running than walking (eventually), move on to the real game! The 5k trainer and game play app are the only pair of apps I’ve kept from phone to phone.

Mrs. Great and fun way start your training for marathon or to just get back into shape. I love this I hope there will be a 10k version if there isn't already.

Crashed twice in four runs…. I started running with this app, and enjoyed myself. Except that I lost progress on two out of four runs because the app crashed at the very end of the run. Using a 64GB iPhone SE with Apple’s Music app running in the background. App crahsed during the first story explanation (entering Abel) and on Week 1, Workout 3.

Fun. It’s a fun take on exercise for sure

crashes frequently mid workouts.. This is the only app that crashes on my iPhone 7+. I've killed the app and restarted my phone several times during the workout. Please fix asive paid for the full app. Unimpressed.

Worth it!. I have asthma and have never been much of a runner, only ever was a sprinter. Long distances were daunting to me as I never had the stamina for anything over a mile. With this app, I’m shocked at how drastically my body has changed over the 8 weeks. I can run longer and faster while enjoying the interesting story taking place. I have the premium membership and live that it also includes the original app which has hundreds of missions! Get it, you won’t regret it! The gradual progression of this app is perfect and is challenging, yet doable.

Week 2 workout 2. Week 2 workout 2 keeps cutting off at the 19 minute mark. Fix this please

Worried about run plan. I'm not sure it will train me to be ready for a 5K in eight weeks when the first week is limited to 15 second running intervals and the second week brings it up to 30 seconds

Love it!. Eight weeks ago the only running I did was for the bus. I still have one run left and I can now run a full 5k with only two three minute breaks (after the second and fourth k). I do have to say that it started out much easier than I needed it to but in some ways it was a good lead up because it gave me an early sense of mastery and I just compensated by pushing myself really hard during the 15 sec sprints. I highly recommend this product. It may be less interactive than the full version but it provided me with the motivation I needed to stick with it.

Update needed. and just crashes the app.

Great app. Works well with me as I want to get better at running long distances and I really like zombies

Loving it!. It makes working out an adventure!

Completely addicted.. I'm only in week three of training but I'm totally hooked. I've never been able to find anything to keep me engaged in workouts until I downloaded this app. Best app I've ever purchased.

Love it!. There is now a new and devoted runner 5. The app is great for runners of all skill levels and the story engrossing. I already have the full zombies run! app and used this to restart my running. Thanks!

So motivational. Yes, there are a few glitches, but it makes running so much more interesting! It is so worth the price. It does start slow and sometimes the increases seemed a little too big, but it is a great C25k program. It has made me a runner!

Needs fixing. The story line seemed like it would be fun to do, although, there are glitches with the app and music that just over lap and it's just not worth it since it ruins the walk/run you're trying to do.

Love it, but.... I love this app and what it’s done for me, but looking through the runs is so damn laggy

Love it!. Love this app – it made me a runner when I never thought I would be able to do it. Am now almost done season two of the full version, in which I enjoy gathering tools and supplies and building my base. It just adds a little more motivation and fun. I was already in decent shape when I started this app but could just never get into running. The fact that this app started so slowly allowed for a feeling of success from the beginning. I had no problem running 5K by the end of the eight weeks. My husband did this app this spring and can also now run 5K for the first time. We did a little marathon together this summer – something I never thought we would do together and had so much fun doing it. I have recommended this app to numerous friends. Love it.

Great app. The zombies make it interesting, motivating and fun. Good dialogue and storyline, good pace/progression, easy to follow. All in all, best few $ I've spent in a long while.

Really fun. It’s totally motivating, and I love that I can listen to music as well!

Zombie convert. I am not a runner. Between my 10 seconds of stamina and fear of being knocked out by the jiggly bits, running has never been a favourite pastime. Walking has always been my safe replacement. Yet, it wasn't enough. In the last couple years, I began to develop a jealousy for the runners I watched pass me by (and pass me by... and pass me by). I decided to become a convert. My first runner apps simply told me I wasn't capable of running. If I couldn't succeed at running 1 minute, how could I hope to make it to a 5K target? Zombies, Run! is different. 15 seconds isn't just possible, it is celebrated. There is a recognition that a new runner needs encouragement, whether it is "only 15 more seconds!" or "OMG! The zoms are gaining!" I'm still working my way through the story and training but have seen a tremendous change in my stamina (and my jiggly bits). My only complaint is what appears to be glitches in the timing (so far in 2-2 and 3-1) where the last running interval didn't tell me to stop. Otherwise, it appears that I merely needed a zombie apocalypse to convert to running.

Love the motivation. It crashes from time to time if you try to run too many things at once. But if you start your music first, then start your run it tends to work great.

Runner 5 here ... reporting back to base. Totally love this app. I'm not a runner - or I should say I wasn't a runner, but I'm starting Week 3 and so far this app is doing an incredible job of motivating me. Love the role-play aspect, it keeps me coming back for more. I want to know the story! Can't wait to finish up the training and get on with Seasons 1 & 2. Also, the Support Team has been great: I had a technical glitch (my fault) and found them really helpful. Am I really running? Me? Wouldn't have believed it! Runner 5 FTW

Great training program. This is the only 5k trainer I’ve found that isn’t just straight running/walking. It has stretches and different walk exercises to help build stamina and prevent injury. I love the story, it keeps me going along. Thanks for such a great comprehensive program!

No ability to skip ahead.. I wanted to like this app. I've had the main one for a few weeks now, and am trying to get back into running after an injury. Pros: - Like the interface, and like the web site (Zombie Synch) Cons: - no ability to skip ahead. This program assumes that you are starting at absolute zero, and that 15s running intervals will be difficult enough for you that you need three sessions to progress. There's no option to jump in at a level more appropriate for where you are at. This will be a giant waste of time for me. - it would be worth it if the runs progressed the Zombies, Run story at all, but they don't. You don't really learn anything about Abel Township, or the history of the zombie apocalypse. You don't even collect supplies you can apply to the main app. - No Zombie chases! This to me was the whole point! Basically, this is a limited 5K training app, where the time cues are given to you by people in their Zombies, Run characters, suitable for people who are total beginners.

Glitch enough?. Any interruption makes the app stop the mission and you can't even continue. You have to start from the beginning again. Had to buy a different app which has no glitches and has made this one obsolete. I'd like my money back but that ain't gonna happen. Thanks!

Mind the time!. I wish the app would be aware of the distance instead of the time. My first race I ran 3 km in 40 minutes, I mostly walked and was exhausted! The last race I ran a full 5 km in just under 35 minutes. So it did it's job... I just had to leave my phone running a full 20 minutes because the workout had a 55 minutes timer on it.

Best running app ever!. I had this app recommended to me by a friend and now I'd like to recommend it to everyone else! By far the best running app I've tried, the in ear training is easy to follow and the story is extremely engaging. I've improved my fastest km and overall run time since I started using the app! Get out there and start training for the zombie apocalypse!

ZR5K. So far loving this app! The story is what's getting me motivated cause I always wanna know what I have to do next! Good for all paces!

Good app. I guess my review got deleted. I complained about the app not recording my missions. I managed to fix that on my own.

Creative. A fun creative way to remain motivated for low-level walk or run training Good voice actors.

Needs to accommodate Apple Watch. I got this after I got zombie run but I am new to running so this works better for me but I dislike having to take my phone with me on runs. I wish this had a Apple Watch app like zombie run does. Id 5 star it if this was added.

two weeks in!!!. a really great way to get in shape, and have fun! best of all - it’s free 😊 this app is absolutely amazing. its plot and training structure make every trip to the gym more exciting. using the system of marking every exercise completed is super satisfying, and gives you a tangible way to chart your progress. it also intersperses every session with stretching to make sure that you avoid injury.

Fun and Useful, but Serious Stability Issues. I really enjoy using this app and it has helped me increase my stamina while running. Unfortunately it crashes on average every 4th run about halfway through, forcing me to repeat missions I’ve already done most of in order to get the full story and experience.

I haven’t ran more than ten mins in five months!!. Loving the app! The story line keeps me going!!

fun!. So far I love this app, the interactive story is what drew me in. The story line is a great motivator. Only thing i wish would be different is that they had a buy outright lifetime price instead of just a monthly or yearly after week 3.

Best running app ever. Never I thought I would have fun running but alas I am

Fun!. A fun way to get in shape for those of us who don’t really care for exercise and prefer a fun story.

IT WILL NOT WORK. Look, this app has worked in the past and I really like it. Even if the actual interface has always been a bit iffy, it’s still been great. BUT I HAVE BEEN TRYING START WEEK 8:1 FOR OVER AN HOUR AND IT WILL. NOT. WORK. I HAVE LOST COUNT OF HOW MANY TIMES IT HAS CRASHED. I HAVE RESTARTED MY PHONE. I’VE TRIED OTHER WEEKS. IT DOES NOT WORK. Please fix this app. I’m begging you. I just want to get back up to 5k. I’m so close.

Excellent app!. I’m using the app for the second time to get back into shape! Great motivator with great story and voice acting!i highly recommend getting the full zombies run app as well!

Crash city!. This app is great when it works...been stuck on week 4 day 2 for 3 runs straight due to crashes and lost runs

Great app!. Super fun and I’m actually excited to tho out and run!

Good prequel to get in shape for the big app. I initially tried to jump right into the Zombies! Run! app but quickly discovered that I was not nearly in shape enough to handle it. This app uses the same format to get you able to handle the running needed to really play the full app.

iPhone6S it has become unusable. This App used to be so great! I loved it so much even when it was pretty laggy. However, it no longer runs on my iPhone6S. It keeps crashing and if it doesn’t crash it won’t run the workout and if it runs, it does so for a little bit then crashes again.

Doesn’t work. I love this app but it crashes like 75% of the time. It’s really frustrating to be halfway through a run and then have to start over. Wouldn’t recommend it right now.

Aaaaaaaaaand it crashes upon opening.. Can't even open it to send a report... It just keeps on crashing the moment I try to open. It

Fun app. If your thinking of a doing a 5k training app this is the one to use. Very fun!

Great concept if you can get it to work. I loved the concept of this. The intro was a lot of fun and I couldn’t wait to get I to it. Tried the first “workout” and it kept freezing up and crashing. Finally got to get through the whole workout and it crashed again, erasing my progress. Decided to just not worry about it and went on to workout 2 on the scheduled day. Crashed twice and here I am now. Really wish I could use it but it’s just not working for me.

Crashing. Would be amazing if it did not constantly crash at the end of workouts. I’ll be done, told to come back in a few days, and when I go to officially quit the run, and app crashes and totally restarts and I lose everything. I like the storyline idea but I can’t get to any of the story because I’m stuck in the same run

Could be great but too buggy!!. I like the pacing and the story is fun, but for the last several weeks the app has frozen and crashed halfway through my run every day. NOT helpful. I’ll have to find another app for now. :/

I don’t think this is strictly speaking gender neutral. I did not read into the detail descriptions, so maybe I should have known. Three runs into the game and I keep getting the feeling that they assume the runner is denial- telling me to get a sports bra kinda clinched it. Still going to use it because I am not sensitive, but it is off-putting and I won’t be buying the non 5k version.

Fun workout!. Did this 4 years ago and moved onto Zombies, Run. Worked up to running 5ks and 10ks. Slacked off because of work but looking forward to starting over with this app again.

Best 5K app for me!. This program works so well for me- the story is engaging without being distracting, and I’m finding that I look forward to my workouts.

Will not even open. I can’t say anything about the actual content because the app crashes before getting past the loading screen. This is extremely frustrating to say the least and generally turns me off from everything by this dev.

Crashes. I was ready to love it, but it crashed twice during the intro mission. You can't get back to the place you were at before the crash; you have to start from scratch. Doing that twice was enough for me!

Still no Apple Watch connectivity?. If there’s any app that cries out for Apple Watch connectivity it’s this one. Hard to believe that’s still not there.

Keeps Crashing. Very Good App but lately keeps crashing midrun

Bummer. Every time I use this app, it crashes at the end of my run and does not record my results. I love the idea of having an ongoing story to encourage running, which is exactly why I decided to use this app instead of the app I used prior to having some medical issues, but this decision was a mistake.

New moms look here. Thanks for getting me back in running shape after baby!

Don’t bother. Before you start if you don’t have location turned on it won’t start… even if you turn location on several times?? It is forever on the “you didn’t enable location” screen

Great program, but buggy. I love the story and the training regimen. Way better than other running programs I have tried. However, it crashes a lot and you can’t resume where you were when it crashed, meaning you have to start all over again in the session. Super frustrating!!

Motivation I need. The hardest part about running is getting back into it. This app gives me the motivation to enjoy getting back into running and entertains me and pushes me through the hardest parts. If you like zombies this will make you love runner.

Skip warm up?. Nice app and program for beginners but I wish there was a way to skip the 10 minute warm up walk. The app just forces you straight into the days workout without letting you skip the warm up. I run at the end of my workout so this 10 minutes of waiting really throws a wrench into everything

Has Not Aged Well. When I first tried the app back in 2013 it worked great! But now when I try and do anything, it will freeze and not recognize any inputs. I was honestly shocked to see that it had been updated within the last month because it doesn’t act like an app that, you know, works. Very disappointed to have to find a different couch to 5k app to get me up and running.

Interesting premise, but barebones. No HRM integration, no Strava integration, and not much real description of what’s going on (definitely doesn’t appear to have customization). But it’s a possibly fun way to start. We’ll see!

I finally finished one!. I’ve started lots of Couch to 5K training apps over the years, but this is the first one that’s actually sustained my interest long enough to finish. That’s saying a lot!

Fun and friendly!!. This app is fun and it starts you off simple, and the people are friendly and make it feel like your in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. 😁

Keeps Crashin. The app keeps crashing when I’m almost at the end. It even happens when it’s the only app open at times. My phone is updated and I have plenty of storage. I don’t even think I want to try Zombie Run at this point.

Great for getting my kiddos active!. I’m using this app with my 8 and 11 year old sons to help train them up for a 5k. I stumbled across it by accident, and think it’s completely brilliant! Kiddos to the creators for coming up with a remarkable product!

Love he app. But it takes too long to load. I'm constantly tapping the button to load the first week and it takes upwards of 15 minutes if it even loads at all. Then it loads 3 times so it's like hearing an echo with the story playinf three times simultaneously. I've never had issues until these updates...but waiting 15- 30 minutes for the story to start has me looking for other options I'm on iphone by the way.

App Crash. The app keeps crashing and doesn’t save my progress. It’s happened for the last 4 sessions including today. I’m getting very frustrated.

Zombies run 5K. I always use this to train for my next 5K. Great for race day too.

Makes Running Fun!😊. When my sister

Over the glitches. I love the idea behind this. It motivates me to run more. But... I’ve tried to do the same run 4 different times now and tried different scenarios each time. I got half way and it shut me out of the app. And then tried again and it froze. I’m deleting the app. Tired of being frustrated.

Very motivational. I love the theme, it keeps me motivated, but what I love the most is the verbal cues to either walk or run. 👍🏻 I look forward to my workouts with Z5K.

Best 5K training app I’ve tried!. I love this app it is both entertaining and fun. Also I have tried a few different 5K training apps and this one by far has be best program for building up endurance and speed. Try it- you’ll love it!

Great for training. I haven’t had any issues with crashes or bugs so far has so good exercises and pretty good motivation with a small amount of story wish there were more apps like this.

3 weeks free - then asked to pay. I would not have started this program if I had known that i would suddenly be denied access at Week 4. I just want others to be aware.

Old friend. Omg! I download this app like 5 or 6 years ago, when I had a HTC phone.. just like I remember it.. I zone out and I being running... love this app...
