Excellent in every way.. I’m so impressed at the universal nature of this app. It seems to be everywhere! My TV my phone it’s just great. And the content is world class - first class. Congratulations and thank you.

Berliner Phil. Excellent playing and music. It would be fantastic if the music could be transmitted in hi resolution,i.e. 24/96 PCM or higher.

Can’t ever log on. I’ve been trying to log on to the app for weeks, it just times out. Can log on a desktop via web but never on the app or Apple TV. Such a shame because how I want it to work, it just doesn’t.

Best classical music app out there. This is not much a review of the app itself that runs and works flawlessly but of the amazing quality of both the video and audio streamed from The Berlin Philharmonie Concert Hall. If you are a classical music lover as me, I would definitely recommend this app and I will also suggest to airplay the concerts to the Apple TV and a nice HiFi audio system to really experience the astonishing quality.

Great, but.... This is a fantastic app, and a wonderful service. The app adds a lot to the service - particularly streaming over AirPlay and offline downloads. My only gripe is that the offline download function doesn't work very well yet - it seems like it only downloads while you have the app open, and stops if the app is in the background. You can't seem to pause or resumes download. All in all, it means that you often end up having half downloaded a very large file and it is useless and you have to start again. Hopefully you can fix in an update.

Usually works brilliantly. This app is very well designed and usually works flawlessly. It does have limitations in some devices, especially Apple CarPlay, where it is just slow and annoying. Perhaps this is the Apple interface however. It’s a shame that some concerts disappear.

SGCAR on Berliner Philharmonica. This is absolutely the best music resource for live recordings of "everything" to do with western harmonic music. I listen to this on a daily basis.

Superb with Apple TV app and good TV and HiFi system. What an absolute necessity this is for the lover of classical music. One of the world’s great orchestras. Some free content, but for the price of 2 good classical concert tickets most places you get over 500 videos of mainly full concerts, and live performances.

Unusable. On my iPhone 6s, the app is completely unusable. I can’t select movements, the video stream is different from the audio, sometimes I see video only and no audio.

Enjoying very much. I can’t seem to synchronize my iPad with my smart tv to cast from iPad to tv but it’s not a bid deal, just a bit harder to select via tv remote.

Love Concert Music; want Surround Sound!. To me HD is nice, but I love to hear concert music like I’m “In The Building”. I used this service a few years ago and gave up. Sound and music go hand in hand; why not have Dolby/Dts 5.1, or better, sound. We are in the 21 century. Give us the greatest experience of a real concert hall!

Wonderful digital concert hall. I love the app and the vast choice of concerts available. I can cast to my Chromecast easily, select the piece I want and enjoy on my TV screen with sound bar. The quality of the image and sound is great. You can search by composer, by soloist, by conductor. This is so easy and efficient. I took a one year access subscription for less than the price of two tickets for a concert. Worth it!

Great App. Superb music. After discovering the Digital Concert Hall by chance on Sony SmartTV totally by chance I have been a subscriber for over 5 years. The iOS app gets better all the time and continues to play audio when I close off the video portion. So dual function. The ability to download favourite concerts for travel and replay saves bandwidth. A first rate app that allows the best players in the world to be seen on iOS and tvOS as well as MacOS. Not bad. 😊.

World class. "World class" is an over-used term and should be reserved only for situations such as this and its attendant orchestra. The subscription it totally worth the investment and the app reflects the quality of this great ensemble. Also the production values of the concerts themselves are first rate. How exciting to be able to drop into an evening at the Philharmonie — and to feel like you’re there LIVE.

about time. Having written complain that streaming is impossible everywhere in the world, finally someone listened as this app permits off line listening and watching meaning it must have a download at least as a temp file. I assume it self deletes after it plays once but have not tried that as of yet. Using a computer was an exercise in frustration knowing that Europeans with their truly high speed connexions could watch and listen to the very high quality images and sound from this source whilst we in the hinterlands of Canada are given the crystal set equivalent to what they get over there. I am hoping this app permits a large enough cache to avoid the streaming pauses that makes concert listening impossible.

Literally the best thing ever. This app is my life blood. Now that I have experienced life with it, I can never go back.

Stay with it. For the first week I listened to my favourite pieces enjoying the sound. This week I am extending my range and learning the true value of the app…I am staying with it!

Dysfunctional. This app needs to be refirbished. It’s worthless for both live concerts and streaming. Useless.

Plays bad with Chromecast. Streaming to Chromecast is exasperatingly hit-and-miss. Even when it works, navigating within a video is also an exercise in frustration.

Spectacular. A subscription to the Berlin Philharmonia is worth every penny. Bravo!!!

Berlin Phil App. I purchased a 30 day ticket about 2-3 days ago...the message this morning, “You don’t have access to paid programming”. I was also looking for access to the archives. It seems that the overall free access does not let me get in as I’ve checked in before on a previous occasion, possibly when there was a free week. Please advise. Paul M Howard Canada

Difficult to find recent additions to the archives. I want to see what was recently added to the archives but using Search: no luck. I find the App in general very cumbersome. Rather go to the website on my desktop.

Great App, iOS15 Update Breaks iPhone Widget. This is a great app, I love watching the concerts. The iOS15 update has broken the iPhone widget which has gone back to showing the next concert as the season opener on August 27 instead of this week’s concert. Please fix.

Great app overall. I love the content but can never get it to play hi-res audio on my Apple TV 4K. The app will just hang and not play till I switch it back to standard audio. This is not a bandwidth issue as it’s on a gigabit fiber connection.

Musical treasure. I’m so glad I found the music hall. I’ve added BW speakers to my TV so I can watch all the concerts and listen to the amazing music. I am hooked. Sign me up for a lifetime subscription! And some day I will visit Berlin and see it live. Thank you.

The Best of the Best. This app is exceptional, but the only issue I find is sometimes the videos buffer for no more than 15 seconds before playing anything. That being said, my expectations have been surpassed by miles.

Great app.. To be able to hear the Berlin Phil play hundreds of full concerts with most of the world’s best conductors is a real treat! The interviews with conductors and players are very informative. Finally the filming and sound quality are first rate.

A fortuitous find. Happened upon this app while doing a search of the App Store. A fortuitous find for someone who loves classical music. Just bought the annual pass. Looking forward to the new season of the Berliner.

Review of renewal process. Impossible to pull up on Apple App Store. Unable to use Visa for one year renewal in direct buy with discount. Terrible system from a potential customer’s viewpoint.

Wonderful!. The Berlin Philharmonic is, of course, outstanding, but the audio/video transmission is also outstanding. There is also an extensive library of previous performances, as well as the opportunity to listen to live concerts.

What a Ripoff !!. After 7 day trial I paid full price for full access. Berlin Phil. no longer appears on my Apple TV menu, won’t allow me to access through my iPad, and provides no avenue for contact to request a fix or a refund. If anyone in Berlin is listening, I want a refund. I paid for entertainment. I don’t feel entertained. I feel aggravated. I can go to work on Monday and find people who will aggravate me almost as much and not charge me for it.

Nothing better!. Seen up so close, this orchestra becomes part of the family. Rattle is so good humored, energetic, and in love with life. He's an inspiration to us all..a daily antidote to the woes of our world!

If you love classical music, this is the site for you. Great concerts with access to older concerts with all the great conductors and performers. Recommend for all classical music lovers!

Perfect!. My only comment is that for financially struggling senior citizens it would help to have a less expensive “ticket” option.
