Great app to play with lots of friends. The app is an excellent tool to have a leaderboard and know how your friends are doing or how are you in the game. It has different modalities and is USGA handicap approved. The GPS would give you better knowledge of the course and distance to the green, in many US and other countries. My criticism would be that it should be more user friendly, because there are no instructions how to use its 100% potencial. Overall I have to give them the 5 stars

Fix Score Upload Otherwise Perfect. Been using this for a few years. Awesome and accurate for distances, nice just to check my Apple watch and grab the right club. Only issue is that uploading the final score can be frustrating. It will say for example: missing scores for holes (3,7,9) and instead of allowing to enter scores for those holes manually it will take you shot by shot hole by hole to enter those missing scores. After a few years it can be really frustrating hope that’s fixed! Otherwise absolutely love the app!

Have to pay to use Apple Watch.. For a few weeks I was able to use my Apple Watch to update my score as I go. This was fantastic because I didn’t have to open my phone every time and I could just input my score and keep moving. They must have known this was great….. because they have created a paywall so you have to be a member in order to use your Apple Watch to keep score. I already pay for the watch. You already have things like handicaps and scorecard features that comes with a membership bonus. Fix the watch scoring and I’ll change my review but that’s absurd, there is no difference in scoring with your phone vs. with your watch so why make me pay to use my watch?

Membership page and subscription bugs. Various pages in the app, including handicap and membership have bugs that prevent scrolling down to view critical items. In an effort to solve this I logged in through the website which states I must manage my subscription through the app, which is not functional. When speaking with customer service, I was told that my subscription is indeed set to renew but that I must manage it through the apple App Store. In the App Store, TheGrint is not listed as a subscription and I therefore cannot manage my subscription through any of the following: the app, the website, the Apple App Store, or a human customer service rep from TheGrint. Help would be greatly appreciated! Clearly on the fence about the renewal at this point unless some major fixes are implemented…

Bring back scoring on watch. App used to be perfect. Now they want me to pay an annual membership fee just to track score from the watch. I feel like that’s such a core basic function that it’s just a dirty cash grab to lock behind pro, especially when it was free before. At least you can still track it from the phone app, but doing it from the watch was more convenient AND FREE BEFORE. Why are you taking away functionality :( I will probably switch apps just cause of this. I assume their justification (per their newsletter) was the added access to friends scores, but seriously who cares. No one wants to share their 120 at the local muni. They’ll share the scorecard for their good rounds, which is again already free. If you need more money from free users, i wouldn’t mind banner ads at the bottom of the phone app. Locking basic functionality behind a huge paywall doesn’t make me want to pay, just to stop using the app altogether.

It’s a younger generation app. I was just looking for an app to measure distances on the golf course using my Apple Watch. This does that and much more and is a lot to keep up with. I tried it 4 rounds of golf and gave up. You have to upload your round from your watch on your phone using the app and it’s not easy to find and I didn’t know this so I lost my first 2 rounds. I successfully uploaded my 3rd round so I thought I had it figured out. After my 4th round I was unable to find the upload. I guess because I accidentally cleared the app on my phone during my round. Just way too much to keep up with. If you’re older generation, and I’m generation X, I don’t think you’ll like it. So I thought I would give it one more try. Played 18 holes and the watch said to go to my phone to upload my round and so I did and the app wasn’t even logged in even though I started my round on my phone and then when I logged in it didn’t even recognize my round so I was unable to upload. This app is such junk! Wish I had never made the purchase! I’m done and have deleted it!

Good bad and ugly. I like this app mostly, but have issues with it working well. First, toggling GPS on and off should be available on one screen. I turn GPS on by pressing a button on the main screen, but then have to dive into a menu to turn it off. My battery won’t last if I just leave it on. Second: tried using the app today, worked pretty well, except I had to press turn off GPS multiple times, sometimes 20 or 30 times or just wait till the next hole to be able to turn off GPS. please put the GPS ON and OFF button on the Home Screen and pretty please make it work even when in poor cell coverage areas. Not all golf courses are near cell towers.

Score tracking no longer available with free version. Loved this app, UNTIL they got greedy and decided to remove score tracking on the Apple Watch from the free version. Without score tracking on the watch, this app is useless to me. All I ever use is “distance to green” and “score tracking”. Now, if I want score tracking on my watch I have to pay $40 per year. SwingU is a free app that DOES support both distance tracking and score tracking (for up to an entire foursome) on the Apple Watch. I’ve used it the past 4 days and am very happy with it as a replacement for “TheGrint” app. If the developers of this app ever decide to restore score tracking on the Apple Watch I might consider using this app again, but for now I will be happily using SwingU.

Used to be great. The Grint has never been sexy when compared to Golfshot and other apps, but it used to do basically everything I needed it to. The simple functionality combined with the affordable official handicap is what set this app apart from the others. However, the updates in 2020 have been laden with issues. The biggest issue is the inability to zoom in/out or rotate the screen while playing. This seems to work when previewing a course, but not when you’re playing and actually need it. My friends are having similar issues. Other issues include: - Shot Tracking crashes the app if you lock your phone (always worked fine before). - My scores and my friends scores don’t show up in my in-app news feed. - General GPS issues. I was a huge fan of the Grint and I’ve been a Pro member for 3 seasons. I’ve contacted customer support several times about these issues (and yes I’m using the most recent version), but none have been resolved. Unfortunately if these issues are not resolved soon, I will be discontinuing my membership and looking for alternatives. Please fix!!

Missing KEY Features. A good app that could be great if they added some features that completely break it and makes this app borderline unusable to me. First of all, if you start a round of 9 and forget to go in the settings and change it from 18 to 9, then you try to upload your score you CANNOT, the app literally won’t let you upload the score of 9. You have to delete the round and reupload an entire new round and screenshot all your scores and enter them in. Second app breaking problem, you CANNOT, and I repeat, CANNOT, skip a hole or play a few holes if it is not 9 or 18. Like whaaaat? I always go out to my country club and play 4 or 5 holes in the evening, and I want to upload my score so I can see my progress on those holes, but there is literally no way to upload a score that’s not 9 or 18, so I have to use a different app than this if I don’t play 9 or 18. I’ve heard other users complain that a certain joke is under construction and they cannot skip the hole, they have to upload a score. I really really really hope they fix this.

Great service, bumpy upgrade to Word Handicap System. ** Updating review to 5-stars based on changes - really good concept and fantastic tool for managing your handicap / tracking stats, just know that there’s been a number of issues as they moved to the new World Handicap System. It’s a small team that’s putting in the hard work on the app, so you may have to expect a delay in response times to support. To their credit - the team fixed all my issues below and I’m now fully up and running with the new Pro membership 👍🏼 Original review: Do not use this app right now - major bugs and problems after their January update. I paid for their “Pro” membership and the app doesn’t recognize my status, despite the fact the App Store already processed payment against my credit card. Emailed support multiple times (including a copy of my payment receipt) and no response for 10 days. Tried deleting / reinstalling multiple times to no avail, too. Great tool that I’ve used for two years to track stats... but do not use this app or pay for any subscriptions until they fix it.

Great app for stats. I use the Pro version to track my stats, and it includes a number of useful things that comparable apps at a similar price point (like SwingU and Hole 19) don't - such as putting results by distance and approach accuracy or putting stats by club. The list of milestones achieved in each round (and the compilation of these in the Trophy Room) is also helpful. I don't use the social features, so all of that just ends up as clutter, but great app overall. I look forward to adding shot tracking from the watch, which has been the main limitation compared with similar apps (for now I use a different app on the course so I can track shots with my watch, and then enter the round in The Grint on my phone afterward); it would also be useful to show the average distance for each club in the current bag on a single screen rather than forcing the user to look up each club individually.

Signing Out After Telling Customer Service. I use my USGA GHIN sign in to use the app. Every single time I go to use the app, it signs me out. It works playing throughout a whole round but let's say the day I want to use it, I'm signed out. I have reached out to customer service and I already knew I was going to get a "please update to the latest version because we have fixed this issue." And of course I told them I am on the latest version. I then explained I am updated to the latest version with a screenshot proving it. All I received back was "I will report this to the IT team." This was on 5/26. Nothing back and it's still signing me out. It's a great app. I'm only giving this a 1 star bc of the lack for communication after so long. I'm definitely very close to unsubscribing.

On course stat collection!. Software is very user friendly and simple to use. If you want to see over time where you get in trouble typically so you can make playing adjustments it great. However, I also like to quickly see the putt count I had for the day, the number of fairs I hit and the number of greens I hit. Greens are my problem and I wish there was a way to record how one missed they green It would be good information that hopefully R&D is working on.

Best Apple Watch golf app. Love this app for everything it offers a golfer. Anything from green side and fairway bunker distance to the distance of a water hazard. I love the USGA handicap that’s assessed twice a month. Two wishful items to add would be the ability to enable the dedicated GPS on the Apple Watch and green layout. With that being said the watch does use the built in GPS and phone, however, I’m not a golfer who doesn’t carry my phone with me ever. When I walk away from my bag there is a lag in the watch auto switching to its built in GPS. It would be nice to see the green layout and the surrounding area for those longer shots and club choice.

Watch app needs work.. After using a different tracking app for a while, decided to give this one a try to look for some better statistical tracking. There is a lot to love about this app, but using this while on the watch isn’t great. The GPS seems to vary wildly. I’ll track a shot and immediately be 10 yards off, without moving. Secondly, it would be great if when I tracked my shots, it automatically updated the score for this hole. It’s annoying to have to go back to my phone, and then enter my score, putts, tee shot club, putt distance, etc. for a second time. Also being able to mark the flag from your watch would help better track distance. Definitely a nice app, but for where it is, it isn’t worth the Pro price compared to other apps.

I want to love this app!!!. Tracking scores is pretty easy, I like that for sure. I am a more casual golfer but golf four days a week all summer long, I just don’t really focus on my score. That being said, I am trying to get a better idea for my distance with each club and having a hard time with this app. It seems to work pretty well on my phone, and the distance is right a lot of times on my watch. Sometimes though it will “wake up” on my watch and the distance is at least 50yds off! I will ask a buddy that has his handheld and it matches my app 8 out of 10 times. It’s those two times where it is at least 2 clubs off. If I could run this app from my watch independently from my phone and have it give me accurate distances from the watch itself, not my phone, I would pay almost any amount of money. I could buy another device but with all the crap I carry on the course now, I really don't want a different gps. I need this to work!! Please let me know when it can be truly independent and a little more consistent. I think it is so close to being great!

The good and the bad. This is a great app, but due to restrictions for me it is not usable. The customer service and response is the best I have experienced with any app. I purchased the premium membership to use the app to track wagers. The app will let you set the handicap for guests but not your individual handicap. While I understand it tracks and keeps an accurate handicap, I play in several groups/clubs that will only use the club play for club handicap. While I record all my rounds my actual handicap may not be the same as a particular club I am playing with albeit higher or lower. Because there is no way for me to adjust my handicap for wager tracking only while playing a club match, I am unable to use the app. Follow-Up: As mentioned the customer service is fabulous, and they are very responsive, they even followed up on my review. The suggestion to change the slope of the course in the app does not address the issue at hand. While it will adjust my handicap artificially for that round, it would also adjust all the other players in the contest. So the issue remains. Additionally if the slope is adjusted wouldn’t that incorrectly record that round for handicap record purposes. It would be ideal if the app allowed for a “gaming” handicap edit. I have several other apps that allow an “edit” of any individual handicap for the bet tracking portion. Thanks for the follow-up.

New Update Has Bad Yardages. The new update, while I like some of the new features, has rendered the app relatively useless due to poor yardage identification. I played a round yesterday at my home course and I could tell the yardages seemed about 15-20 yards short on the app than they were in real life. This was confirmed by multiple sources including a friend with a range finder, the yardage sticks on the course, and a friend who also uses The Grint but didn’t yet have the new update! Crazy to me that the same app on two phones right next to each other would show wildly different yardages. For example, a 170 yard par 3 would read as 150 yards on The Grint. Whatever you were using for previous yardage tracking on the GPS, please go back. It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t 15-20 yards off every single time. In the mean time I will have to switch to a different app for my rounds.

Good, but a few tweaks could make it GREAT!. To start, I’ll say that this app is good, and I’ve had ZERO bug issues, which is amazing! I do think, however, that to get value beyond the app that most golfers use to keep their handicaps, you need to go Pro Plus- which I think should change. The first obvious add should be a “made feet of putts feature.” This is a huge performance indicator, and totally overlooked by every golf tracking app I have tried- so jump on it! Additionally, the game plan portion (in my opinion) is really not worth much. All it really gives you is FIR and GIR for holes by driving club. I don’t think this is a very valuable stat for planning. I think a better use of this would be to be able to actually try and plan your shots for each hole ahead of time so you know your targets going into the hole. Again, jump on it, because no one else has done it! Lastly, I believe that the comparison of stats needs a lot of work. The graph is no bueno. But the comparisons themselves are definitely valuable! Overall, definitely a worthwhile app if you go pro plus subscription!

App is back up and working!. So after the latest update and new world handicap system I was unable to get the app to work, could not even post a score. However, after deleting and reinstalling the app near four or five times, and providing feedback to app developer, the latest install or download has the app finally working, which I’m glad to report! I’m a free member looking forward to trying app next time I play and thinking of becoming a pro member in the near future. Hopefully the added analysis will help me get my handicap into the single digits finally.

Great statistics, and easy to use. I love that my friends and I can see each other’s rounds and share statistics. I’ve only been on the free version of the app for a month, but already I’m getting really useful information about where my misses are off the tee, up and downs, and where my scoring tends to be weakest. I’ve been able to rethink my pre-round strategy and better organize my range and drill time to try to improve. It has helped my course management and my par 3 performance. If I could add anything to it, I would love to be able to track length of drives and other club hits, feet of putts made per hole/round, approach misses and clubs, and maybe weather data - maybe they’re in the pro version?

Great app for tracking stats. The Grint has been a handy tool for tracking stats during my play. Identifying areas that need improvement has never been easier. When tracking your shot via gps, the app does not immediately count the shot on your scorecard, so you must still manually enter your score after each hole (unless I’ve misplaced that feature somehow). My only other complaint is that I did not receive my free Pro Membership after having recommended the app to 3 additional people.

Membership configuration page on App is broken. You’re unable to scroll and review everything in the memberships on the app cause the “expired” discount on the handicap is still there preventing me from even seeing the buttons. Going to cancel my renewal and hope it clears up cause I doubt they will fix the page before June rolls around. Other notes on the app I’ve used since 2019. Pagination on the app hasn’t gotten better through the years. Cannot adjust my clubhouse either via the app. Website tells you to go to app. So no real resolution available. Setting up games to get people in the right teams and slots are not great. Practice rounds count into your “stats” and awards. There’s also no scramble game mode glad to see best ball there now.

Clunky navigation - good live round interaction. Got the pro membership. Tried to load 4 historical scores to get a handicap but keep getting directed to a handicap purchase. Also, only 3 of the 4 scores were handicap eligible as indicated by a green highlight. I’m guessed that it was because they all shared the same date / the date I entered the score rather than when I played. There seems to be no option to edit date so I tried to delete them which leaned them clogging up the front page with big red “deleted” stamps over them. What junk. On a positive note - the gps and live round scoring is slick and will be great to use but the rest of the app interaction is clunky and annoying.

Should be 5 stars…. I recommend this app overall. This is an awesome app with minor bugs here and there (to be expected). Honestly this should be 5 stars, but this needs more work on getting bugs out with the Apple Watch usage. The “watch” or wearables have become an integral part of the golfing and sports community and some of the bugs and abilities of this app related to the watch need to be focused more. Telling users to just reset or uninstall or whatever to bandaid deeper issues with the watch on such a great platform is problematic… think about 😉. All else is awesome! Just an thought.

Best golf app available.. I’ve been a pro user for a few months now and this is without a doubt the best golf gps/scorecard app available. It pairs perfectly with my Apple Watch so I don’t even need to pull out my phone. One of the few apps that don’t pull the gps from the phone 100% of the time, it can also use the gps from my Apple Watch series 3 if I turn off the Bluetooth. The yardages are are so so. For me it could jump around anywhere from 3-20 yards all while I’m standing in the same spot. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because I haven’t found a gps app yet that can lock on a distance as well as a range finder. Which is as expected. That being said I’ve found this to be the most accurate and the features are great. Especially the shot tracking feature for pro users. Awesome to be able to see your exact yardages for each club in your bag. Also, the customer service is the best around. Any questions or bugs are answered within the day. Update: Apple Watch app keeps crashing. Will not load. Deleted and reinstalled several times. Been ongoing for a couple weeks now.

Worked well at first. I really liked this app for the first 6-7 months since I could use my Apple Watch instead of buying a separate golf watch. The last 6 weeks or so the watch would not sync up with the phone app or quit working. I would have to restart the app on the watch and start it again. But after the last IOS upgrade it won’t even pair with my Apple Watch. It sits on the the watch start screen and says to begin the round on the phone and sync. Never goes to the actual hole. Tried to update the app and then Tried to uninstall from the watch next but once deleted from the watch it wont even reinstall now. Very frustrating. App still works on the phone but a lot less convenient than managing scoring and distance from my watch.

Great app. Love it.. I started with the free version and then went to the premium for more complete stats. At this point, I’m not clear on the exact distinctions between the two. I just know I don’t want to give up what I’ve got. When I got my clubs fitted, I took a print out of my stats for fairways and greens because it helped confirm how I was hitting during my fitting. I would say the app could be perfect if they would add approach shot accuracy tracking. Right now you know what percentage of fairways you hit and what percentage is right, left, long, short. However, even with the premium version, you’re only able to track that same information on par 3s. They should enable that same tracking for all approach shots. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of playing partners that use the app but I do see great potential in using it for leagues and other friendly competition.

GPS not available for a world class course. Overall, this app is pretty good, but missing GPS for one of the greatest courses in the United States. I traveled to Bandon Dunes last year to play several of their courses. Since I’d never been, I thought this app would be the perfect addition so that I could find my way around with the GPS. The Sheep Ranch at Bandon Dunes is an amazing course, but it is not well marked. For some strange reason, the Grint does not have GPS available for this course. I reported it multiple times and received an automated message each time stating that it would be mapped within two business days. It’s been almost 11 months and it has still not been mapped. I am not sure why this is the case, but it is disappointing.

Best in class Customer Support needs work!. My password was finally reset and problem fixed with an apology with explanation of why problem existed on auto password reset not working. My cousin recommended this App and as I just started playing again thought I would start with free version. Used a few times and the. Got logged out. Tried to use forgot password feature and never received email back in April of 2021. Went to website to try password recovery and website shows error try again later. Just tried to log in again tonight and again could not login. Tried forgot password feature again with no response email from app and same error on website. Scanned my email to find out they also never Responded contact us link from April2021 and it’s now July2021

Close to being perfect, not there yet. This app could seriously use a feature where you can either send a friend a link so they can see the satellite view of your course & your shots or add a feature where they can just tap right into your round and see that without needing a invite link. The live scorecard is useless. There is super basic free golf gps apps out there that have this feature & it is fantastic. Golf Pad has it, so if you want an app like that go for it unless The Grint decides to add it (Which I really hope they do). Other than that one gripe, this app is pretty solid. Maybe add a feature to accommodate for weather or something along those lines.

All the features but buggy. My Garmin watch died last year so I got this to replace it and just use my Apple Watch. It has all of the features that the Garmin had and the battery life is better. The issue I have is every single time I link up the watch to the phone it’s all good until I enter the score for the first hole and then the app on the watch crashes. Every single time!! Up until tonight I would just get out of the game on the phone, start the watch app back up and get back in the match on the phone. But tonight I was keeping score on my watch all round and at the end the it wouldn’t sync up with the phone and lost the data for the round. Too buggy for the monthly fee that I pay.

Personally love the app, but feel something changed!!. I’ve been using the app and service (free version) for probably a year plus now and have very much enjoyed it as it severs as a great exchange for a range finder, even up to distances + or - 5 yards. Which again I’ve loved the app! However, recently I’m not sure if it’s something with an updated that occurred or something in my personal settings, but I changed nothing, that equaled for my whole bag to be deleted at one point and I suffered from not being able to choose clubs mid round. But the real issue for me was that the gps setting is staying station from the tee box and isn’t moving with me as I approach greens. Personally this is killing me mid round as it serves as extra work for me to do the math to figure out the distance more or less. I thought it could have been the course but it looks like it’s just my app on every course. Additionally I asked a friend I was playing with and he said his didn’t look like mine and was updating his distance through a hole. Simple issue, hopefully simple fix!!! I really enjoy using the app, but will probably get tired of having to do this current method much longer. Please help, thank you!

Favorite GPS tracker but falls short. Good looking interface. I enjoy using this app. I use the app primarily for GPS on my watch. For the most part it works great. Occasionally it has issues syncing especially when recording your score on the phone rather than watch. I keep the phone in my pocket to ensure it’s close by for connectivity. The app does crash every now and then either watch or phone but I find that being an issues with similar apps as well. One feature I wish The Grint has is the ability to explore a course without playing it. I like to review all holes the night before or morning of courses other than home. This is the only reason why I keep a competitor app on my phone. Hopefully they’ll add this someday.

Confusion and Lacking Flexibility. I’ve used this app for almost 3 years now, sticking with it so as not to lose lots of scores and handicap. I’ve given feedback and they respond but it seem to be giving lots of feedback that shouldn’t be necessary if the app was more intuitive for set up and end of round up loading. The score card itself on course works fine. Time to shop. Picking courses and combinations of two tracks when three 9-hole tracks are available is not easy. Nor is changing the selected options or uploading after a 9-hole round. Just tired of fighting the user interface.

Best golf app out there. Have tried other scoring apps but The Grint is definitely the most complete with 3D maps and handicap trends. The only reason I refrain from giving it 5 stars is that there’s a small bug with the Watch App because it doesn’t sync automatically when I switch to the next hole on the iPhone app and the watch app still shows the previous hole. Other than that I really like the small stats on the watch app that shows yardage to “dog leg”, front and carry bunkers as well as lay ups. Really help in devising a strategy before starting a hole. With the new 3D maps you get an even better idea of how the shot will fare, specially useful in hilly courses.

Awesome, and just gets better and better!. I have loved this since it first came out and I can’t imagine golf without it anymore. It continues to get better and better with each new update. It is awesome using the gps, tracking and comparing scores and round stats, keeping up with golf buddies through live updates, and exploring courses that you haven’t played yet or will be playing soon. I also want to mention that the customer service is the best that I have ever experienced with an app. They are extremely responsive via email and alway listen to any feedback for improvement and look to resolve any issue that you might have, including getting course info updates really quickly if needed.

Better. I upgraded and the new features are good, especially the GPS function, at the same time some issues still remain. When selecting the tracking option, my clubs in my bag did not come over and others are there. Also, the tracking option is still difficult to use, especially for the next shot. The other issue I am having is moving the yardage in the fairway section, you can’t just grab it, move it to assist with the approach shot. Other apps have this feature and it works great. This app is improving, but would like to see these bugs worked out; still recommend the app over all.

App with potential but I wouldn’t buy it again. Pros - Map is easy to use. Scoring is easy to enter. Cons - There are no instructions that make it difficult because it is not self explanatory. I paid for this app for the tracking but I’m unable to delete shots that were accidentally recorded. Help can take a long time in responding. I’ve asked to simply delete all my tracked shots and it still hasn’t been done after a week. I have asked that I want a reset for the annual purchase whenever this gets fixed a few times and they choose to ignore this request while answering the questions they want to. I wouldn’t renew again. There are other stats that can be tracked but there’s no manual so I don’t know how to use it. How about creating a tutorial video? I wanted to like this app but it is not for me.

3rd out of 3 golf apps. Like most apps, this one will track your shots, give you scores, and provide your handicap. The support team could not import my data from another app, that is a very highly used. Not sure if they could figure out the right website to go to or what their real problem was. I sent them a copy of the file that you would get from the download, but they would not or could not open it and read it. The file is open a bowl or readable the Mozilla fire fox. I would expect any app that supports the golf game to be able to compile your shot data and be able to recommend which club you would use for your next shot. TheGrint is not able to do this which was a big downfall. They open the advertise that you could link to GHIN to get your handicap so I will mention them here. GHIN is able to do all the things that I want but I would need to become a member of the USGA. At this time I use a third app that I would not mention here, but I am very happy with it because it provides me with course GPS, wind, elevation, changes, club, selection, and various course hazards. Most of this is free on this other app, even though I pay for the upgrade.

I really wanted to like The Grint. So tithe first round went great, GPS worked and it kept score. The second round it would only pull up the par 3 on the golf course even though I was no where near the par three. I finally gave up and kept score on the card. The third round we were a little rushed so I wasn’t able to start until the second shot of the first hole. I put in the score for the first hole and thought everything was good, it kept score on my Apple Watch the entire round, but at the end of the round it wouldn’t upload my score. It asked me to upload the score for the first hole. So I did that, but it still wouldn’t upload my score even though I could still see the score on my watch. I finally backed out and tried to upload manually and it would only pull up a golf course that I didn’t play.

Rough time with Apple Watch. I absolutely love the app and wish i could use it all the time but i get extremely frustrated when I have to constantly reopen the app on my watch. I also use Golfshot and never have this issue with that app. I can even back out of that app on my watch and send/check messages, take calls…whatever and it will automatically pop back open as soon as i raise my wrist. If you can figure that out with an update I’ll get it up to 5 stars. It’s also very laggy with distances. The only shots i try to track now are my drives but I’ll have to wait for it to settle down and figure out where I’m at before i can even think about it. So close to the best out there. Few tweeks and you’re there.

Nice Golf App for Socializing Scores. This is a nice app to use in tournaments or just playing with a bunch of buddies to socialize everyone’s scores and stats live. But to make it even better and for me to give that last star is if they could collaborate and/or integrate it with Arccos. Arccos automatically gathers my scores and all my stats. It’s a lot of work and too time consuming during a round to use both apps and have to manually enter the data into The Grint after each hole. If both apps could work together to allow me to automatically or with a single “button” push the data already collected…that would be the sweet spot!!

Decent Golf App for a specific group of players. I’ve tried multiple golfing apps and honestly I’m not impressed. A bunch of basic features are locked behind their paywall of a subscription price. I want to give it 3 stars however I have a hard time doing so. Where I give respect to this app is their local tournaments they post and invite you to. Their official handicap system is nice as well. That’s about it. Basic features like seeing a hole by hole breakdown of your friends score. Locked behind a paywall. Entering a past round hole by hole. Locked behind a paywall. ACQUIRING A HANDICAP. Locked behind a paywall. I pray people read this and only use this app for one purpose: to use it to compete in tournaments. If you’re a casual player, this app isn’t for you. The premium subscription isn’t worth it.

League grint user. I love the grint and all of its capabilities. Our league uses it as well and the general consensus is that it is fantastic! My only complaint is the font size when I’m trying to use it on the course. The youngest guy in our league is 45 so most of us use reading glasses and we all have trouble reading the items we can input during a round. With that said I’m not able to use the robust options the Grint offers to help improve my game. Other that that the app is fantastic!!

Finally found my Golf app. I absolutely love this app, I have tried a few other GPS golf apps before a friend showed me the Grint. I have since than deleted the other apps and this one is the only one I use. The GPS accuracy has been very accurate and in line with both my handheld GPS and the cart GPS. I love the social aspect of the app and being able to see your friends life scorecards and getting notified whenever they get birdie. The stats that you get with being a PRO member are amazing and very helpful. I recommend this app to anyone who wants to take their golf game to the next level.

Phenomenal App!. The Grint is a phenomenal app! They offer amazing customer service as well. Recently emailed about an older course that was sold and renovated. They responded to my email the same day. Asked me to send a scorecard and the new course was ready to go in a matter of days! Another wonderful feature the app has is the stat tracking feature. I recently bought a new driver. The club fitter asked me about my drives and what my misses are. I was able to pull the info up and was able to use that information while selecting a driver. I give The Grint 5 stars!

Keeps getting better (but Apple Watch companion still crashes). Update: after going through the testing with different choices I can now use all tracking options for a full round. The app keeps getting better; however, the Watch app keeps crashing this season. I have already reached to support but I did some quick testing and it appears that if you turn off the tracking options (other than tee accuracy) you can at least get a score in, though you won’t be able to track putts. I’m sure the engineers will get this tracked down soon.

Great app, one minor problem away from perfect. First of all I’ve used this app since I started golf 2 years ago. Easy to use, fun and creative. Firstly I just used it on my iPhone and it was great, I could move the marker and set targets and it’s yardages are almost perfect. When I play with people with $400 rangefinders the yardages are almost exactly the same which is very impressive! The reason for 4 stars is there hasn’t been many updates except in cost. I got an Apple Watch instead of an expensive golf watch because I was excited to use my Grint pro membership on the watch and not have to carry my phone around and always be on it. But unfortunately one of the features I liked was shot tracker and you can only do this on the phone unlike other golf apps that let you do it on your watch. Also unlike other apps this one doesn’t give you wind speed and elevation on phone nor watch. I truly believe that if this app could add any of these in an update it would be the hottest golf gps app on the market because the rest is so so good! Thanks B

Great app. Luv the app-we now have 10 in our group that use the app

Best golf app. In-depth stats, amazing social feature. However, some courses are not updated, not sure how to update it

Pathetic and Weak i want my money back. All my data has gone! All the games that i saved have disappeared its like i opened the app for the first time even my profile picture is gone I emailed customer service and never got a response. Pathetic and weak! im very disappointed and cancelled my subscription. deleted the app and will never try it again. I do not want to hear from the grint saying contact us so we can fix the issue ive given you the opportunity to do that already and you failed, besides all my scores have gone

Rubbish. Pretty useless. A friend used it while we played to keep score and because he entered my email address to send me result it thinks this email already exists. A waste of time going round in circles

Good fun. Great app, please keep it free!!! Love notifications when playing well or terribly

Frustrating as hell. App could be great but I have an inconsistent handicap because the app will randomly select a game as a practice round and also delete games randomly?? Contacted support and said the resolved the issue but opened the app afterwards to more games changed to practice rounds and rounds removed completely, now I have no handicap… really want to like this app but it’s making it extremely difficult too. Shame

Great golf app. Great app to use, even in the free version it shows distances. Great way to keep track of your score

Used a heap. Best stat analysis from any of the apps I’ve used. Also, great to use with mates, creating leaderboards & comparing how everyone is going. Good fun. Would be nice if shot tracker worked a little easier or could work on the watch. At the moment have to keep phone screen on the app when tracking a shot otherwise it stops tracking whenever phone locks - not ideal when you’re trying to socialise between shots. Feel like a tap of a button either one the phone or watch, then another tap when you’re at your ball would do the trick. Even if you filled out what club you used after the round?

Works perfectly. I’ve tried 2 other well known apps but this one works the best. I’ve never had to do a reboot half way around like the others when the gps fails. This app is simple to use. Very accurate and works perfectly without draining the battery and no drop outs. Thanks Grinters

App. The app works well in all conditions I would like to trial the full version before buying The function of friends being able to see when playing and add comments is great

Nicee. Gooood

Great when starting out.. As a beginner the Grint is an awesome tool. The GPS is very accurate and reliable and stacks up against my mates range finder. Loving it so far!

Hands down best golf scoring app. Excellent customer service. Add and update golf courses quickly after I emailed requests. Simple to use, and continually being improved. Thumbs up.

Great app. Great golf app

The grint!. Love the grint . Easy to use and lots of fun! Like the stats features!

App doesn’t work. Was perfectly working for 2 years. Now it’s been 1 month that i can’t open a new game, can’t see the course… can’t track my shot. Might be a bug but i tried to resch them on messenger and they can’t help me.

Great app. Really helps with distances!

Great app. Only thing that would make this better is if there was more compatibility with the Apple Watch.

Connect to Golf Canada. Such a great app, love the live updates with friends and everything. Only thing that is negative is that it doesn’t connect to my Golf Canada handicap but does to USGA.

🤟🏽🤟🏽. Best golf app out there… can see all of your buddies live rounds live leaderboards highly recommend

Can’t believe it’s free!. Great app - get your handicap for free.

Great product. Best way to keep score and cap

Nice and easy to use. It is a very user friendly app, nice and easy to use and has all the relevant information.

Great Tool. Use the grint to track every round I play. Highly recommend.

Great app!. This app has everything you need and more. Sent them feedback on improper GPS coordinates for a specific hole on course I play, and they fixed it within a few hours. Great app and great support!

Great App!!. Love being able to find a landing spot!!! Well Done The Grint!!!!

Potential is there. It’s a nice looking app. Seemed to be loaded with features. I prefer more of the basics. I found it quite confusing as to how to actually retain my score in the app. I don’t care to upload it anywhere. I just want to open the app and see how I played. Also how to end a round was not obvious. Found myself having to search online to learn how to use basic functions. Too much time wasted.

Easy to use/ Good for beginners/ Useful tool. Love it. Helps my game big time

Works great with iWatch 8. It’s great working with iWatch. It’s like having gps watch!!!!!

Great app. Pretty good integration with the Apple Watch which I love. I can just leave the phone in my bag. Check the watch for distances, and punch my scores in all with the phone away from me.

Best Golf App. Absolutely love the app for tracking, competition, gps, and stats. Support team is excellent. All my friends have the app and it adds to the enjoyment we get out of the game (through competitions and the rankings page).

Very nice. Great app. GPS is very consistent with view finders.

Useless. Can’t get signed in and no way to change it

Great stuff. Easy to use. More engaging then most handicap calculation apps. Solid product.

Watch App Needs Work. The app works well, I like that you’re able to connect with friends. The phone app could be a little more intuitive and have some design work. The watch app needs work. I have the new Apple Watch 6 series and it very often has issues syncing with the phone. It’s frustrating because I have to have my phone out the whole round on every shot rather than use my watch.

Grinter. Top notch app! Live scoring is a lot of fun.

Great app, could use more community features. Amazing app for tracking score and planning shots. I check the feed quite a lot and feel like there could be some more community features. Maybe forums of some kind.

Most Useful Golf Game. I have used the Grint for a few years, and been a pro member for 2. I use it for all my rounds, if you want to record your data, the results and insights are more than enough for any amateur golfer. Their support team is great and responds quickly. Can’t ask for much else!

Love this app. Best one out there. Developer is great too and very active in updating the app.

Now charge for handicap. I love the grint app and have been using it for years, many nice features and developments have been added. However, in this latest update they are now charging you to view your actual handicap??! Is this for real? This should be one of the most basic things in a golf app… updating the way you calculate a handicap is not justification for charging for it.

Easy to use. Great app and very easy to use. Apple Watch integration is great.

The best period. This is the best golf app. Period So many free options, plus the gps is very accurate.

Doesn’t work since ios16. This app doesn’t work since ios16 came out. You can’t search courses. Deleted and reinstalled, changed and updated settings, and it still won’t work. Figure it out already. Also, why are you trying to access so much information now? Just a fyi people, they want your date of birth, precise location, and access to your contacts, and more. I suggest turning most of this off and only allow while using the app itself.

I’m amazed. This app is perfect. It does everything, it’s super easy to use, and it looks great. Like Facebook for golfers.

Enjoy TheGrint. I love the app. It’s accurate and very user friendly. I can play 18 and only use 45% of my phone battery.

The app became useless. What separated the app from other was the ability to add your score from your watch. Without that feature the app has no advantage

Grint golf ap. Love this ap! Buddy got me into golfing the last few years. This has helped me dial in my clubs and distance.

My favourite golf app so far. I don’t golf every week but this has been the lost consistent app for my iPhone XS and series 6 watch. I’ve had issues with other apps where the phone has to be open and it uses the phone gps to display on the watch. This app uses the gps in my watch (data enabled watch) so if I walk to my ball away from my phone it still gives me accurate distances. This app makes it easy to track the basic score, and it’s not hard to get into the habit of tracking stats. I really like all the information you get after rounds like the high points and such. There are a few good golf apps out there so I feel it comes down to preference and what works for your tech. I will be buying the pro version of The Grint for next season to track club distances Is it is pretty silly that you only get 6 months of free GHAP but I feel like most people are getting the pro version as in my opinion this app is worth it I suggest to try out a few, just playing around at home with them and seeing which ones make the most sense to you and go from there. I think they all have all have pros and cons as none are perfect This one is my favourite though.

Not very stable. I like the app and use it for every round I play but it crashes at least once or twice each time I play.

Winter courses?. Some of my courses where i live show upas if its the middle of winter, very odd

Awesome. Dry helpful app

Greatest golf app there is. Best app in the App Store. It takes golf to a whole new level. The GPS feature basically renders rangefinders useless. And the stats tracking and leaderboards is crazy. Couldn't recommend an app more.

Usually good. Every since the latest update, I am unable to log back into my account. Even after resetting my password. Other than that, it works fine usually.

LoveD it. Was great. And then you have to pay. Like everything else

Good app.. Easy to use.

Good golf app. Great app for distances etc and fun to record your scores with your friends. Disappointed they now require you to pay to track scoring on your watch. That’s the only thing I used this for and it isn’t worth the $.

Grint review after 2 years use. This is a great tool for a group that plays regularly, whether together or separately. Putts, handicaps are all recorded and its a very good record keeper. Really enjoy it.

Juan. Very helpful, good accuracy!! Thanks Grint!!!

GPS needs work. Any way we can get a 2d GPS to toggle to? The maps view its great. Would be nice to get just a simple version of gps to track distances with.

Milestones Not Captured. Superb app. Love the latest version with all its new features. Easy to use. Like the features to capture statistics on a round. Great graphics and summaries for scoring analytics. Only issue is see…the app is not capturing all the Milestones (particularly Sand Saves and Par Saves).

No scoring on Apple Watch. Loved the app untill the new update where you need to pay to be able to use the app for scoring. Real shame they changed it

The grint. The grint is good

Handicap is not easy to manage. The app is good but I am having trouble associating the handicap with my actual club. The app handicap tracking in the pro version defaults to Weston TG GC club which does not appear to be an actual golf course or place, although it is registered with the USGA. This has been a problem for me in competitions as the club is unknown. There is no phone number or a pro that can be contacted for handicap validation. This defeats the purpose of the pro version to some extent.

Update- fixed. Used to be good. 6/2 Update: The latest update fixed the issue, thank you! The Apple Watch app was the best, however over the past couple of months it not longer works. I have restarted my phone, the watch, and uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Still refuses to work. Only loads to the first hole with zero GPS data or ability to click on anything. Disappointed

GPS is inconsistent. When using on my Apple Watch Series 3 the distance constantly changes (will say 225 to middle and then 127 the next second and back to 225. Range finder saying 136). When the GPS finally stops spazzing out distances are still OFF by 10-20 yards from proven Range Finders. Please fix or I will be moving on to another app that is more accurate. Update: since my first review, The Grint support team has been working with me and gave me some trouble shooting tips to help solve. Looking forward to testing them out!

Very useful!. I’ve really enjoyed this app. I purchased the pro version and keep my index through one of the virtual clubs they offer. Lots of data insights if you use shot tracking. If only my approach shots were nearly as consistent as the performance of The Grint. My only complaint is that I have not found a clear guide to all the hidden capabilities you can take advantage of (once you learn of them, they’re are so many).

Amazing tool. This app, for the cost of one round of golf a year, helps me keep track of my handicap, my scoring trends and associated success for different aspects of the game (putts, driving accuracy, greens in regulation, etc...), and on-course yardage info with the built-in GPS feature. Anyone who plays golf on a regular basis will find this app for to be very helpful and totally worth the money.

Too much useless junk. This app is not easy to navigate. Kept having “pro subscription” pop-ups. No thanks. Had to go through several steps to delete a round. Too much nonsense. I don’t need half of the things on the main screen and then you have to go dig for the relevant things. Needs to be simplified. Definitely made for someone 12-25 years old. They like all the scrolling and tapping. Definitely not for anyone older than that. Give me something seamless and useful. Going back to GolfShot and Hole19.

Go Pro.....Not. I haven’t used all of the apps features but for yardage and scoring, it’s my go to. The GPS is usually spot on. I recommend this app to any new people I play with. I guess I should spend some more time checking everything out since i paid for it. Lots of fun options. Glad we can golf again. It’s been an interesting time in our lives for sure.

Undecided. Undecided so three stars. I’ll change it if it works. So far, I’ve downloaded the app and it has yet to appear on my Apple Watch. I’m looking for a rangefinder for distances only! Can’t stand stopping to enter a computer score before moving on the next hole. That’s what a scorecard and pencil do with enough precision for me—especially for tracking small bets. Now, back to my problem: I’ve read that the app is compatible with Apple Watch 2. I have the 4. How is it possible the app cannot work with a newer watch? Then again, I could be doing something wrong. Please respond.

Ok but not great. I’ve been using the grint for a couple of years now. The gps is pretty accurate as compared to partners’ apps. I find using the app to be not exactly intuitive. I’ve tried to get the app to record my shot distances but can’t get it to work. The recording of drive direction is not easy or accurate. I record total shots and putts, which is easy. I like having an index handicap. all in all, I continue to use the app and record my other stats on my scorecard.

Best golf app in the App Store. I use this app every time I play golf. Now that I have an Apple Watch this app is even better. GPS on every course, keeps record of all scores, keeps your handicap, and keeps track of where to improve your game. I’m a USGA chairman for this app in my club/area. Everything is done by the books when it comes to USGA handicaps. The email response from the devs is amazing, they always get back to you. If you are looking for a free/useful/easy app for golf.....this is it. THIS IS YOUR APP.

Great, Reliable Golf Tracker. I recommend this app for score/handicap tracking and course GPS. I have not take advantage of all of the hit/miss analytics because it’s time consuming to input while playing but as a general score tracker including GIR count it’s really helpful. Even if just starting off, using this app is helpful to developing a baseline to improve off of. Great app.

Great app to use. Update: They fixed the issues I was having with my home course in the app. They put it back into the course catalog. Not only did they do it but it was fixed only a couple hours after sending a couple of emails back and forth. Thank you for addressing the concerns. Now, any chance that in a future update we could get club selections to input to the system? At my home course I noticed that the some of the par scores on the scorecard in the app were wrong. I emailed their customer service and was told to send in pictures of the score card and that the problem would be corrected. After I sent the pictures I did not get a response as to when the situation would be fixed, 2 days later my home course was completely removed from the app. I assumed it was to correct the problem.

Checking Friend’s Scorecards. The overall app is great but one little thing is holding it back from being the best. The fact that you can’t look at your friend’s scorecards without upgrading to the pro version does not make any sense. Sure it tells me their total score but I want to see how they did on each hole to see if they were playing bad overall or maybe just had one or two bad holes. If they make this feature free, this app is no doubt the best.

Almost perfect. I use this app all the time on it’s free version. I get gps distances on mi Apple Watch, keep my score and get plenty of useful statistics. Two suggestions: 1) it is really confusing to end a round and upload it; a big button of end and upload would be great. 2) satellite reads become frozen some times, reacting moments later (no big deal but there are more responsive apps) Congratulations on a great app!!!

Logged off App, Now can’t sign back in. I was somehow logged off the app, and now when I try to sign back on, it’s not accepting my password. I have the password saved in my phone, so I know it’s the right password. So, now when I try to reset my password, the app asks for my email, I input my email and they say they will email me steps to reset my password. Still haven’t received the email. I paid for the pro version, and now I can’t access the app at all... what is going on? Am I going to be reimbursed for the pro version I purchased, but can’t access now??

Great App, still some bugs. I like the app and the handicap feature. I bought the premium version to check put some of the options but it needs some tweaks. A few things it needs: 1) make it easier to review a course hole by hole when NOT playing a round. I like to plan a few shots in advance and looking at the holes the day before I play is cool. 2) needs to get rid of those bugs. It’s annoying when I click into a certain option (like handicap card or search a course) and suddenly there is no more back button. Sometimes the app will crash during a round and I’ll have to restart it which is annoying. 3) make it easier to track shot by shot with gps. Currently you can track tee shots but I’d like to track my approach shots as well and keep stats on my distances etc. Currently 3/5 stars but could easily be 5/5.

Great app!. I've been using the free version for a few months now and love it! The GPS feature works well giving distances to front/center/back of greens that shows up on my Apple watch and the stats tracking is great. I also like that my rounds entered into the app are building a USGA handicap. I just upgraded to the pro version and I'm looking forward to even more stats and shot tracking. Keep up the good work!

Great app for GPS, score tracking & more. I started using this app late in 2020 and was amazed you could get the GPS functions and score keeping for free. And that it had a great companion Apple Watch app to get yardages, including to bunkers, dogleg, and multiple green distances right on your watch. I upgraded this year (2022) for the handicap syncing and more detailed metrics. Absolutely love it.

Great App!. As a “weekend” warrior who loves to know his yardage’s and keep track of his performance, I absolutely love this app! There are apps on the market that you pay for, monthly, that don’t hold a candle to this FREE APP. The thought and care that goes into it is evident and makes you appreciate how great of an app it truly is. The yardage’s are accurate, the tracking info is precise and I love that I’m able to maintain an official USGA handicap so I can participate in golf tournaments I don’t belong in :). GET THE APP, it’s AWESOME!

Watch app has been broken for a long time. The Grint has the best Apple Watch app of all the golf apps — when it works. Unfortunately, the “from the ground up” rewrite is completely unreliable. The Watch app reboots, freezes, fails to sync, etc, constantly. The best feature of The Grint is practically useless now. And when is the long-promised putting stats feature finally going to happen? It’s been months since it was announced, and nothing yet. Seriously thinking of switching apps.

GHIN # Not Working On USGA Site. Following the update and creating a GHIN # through the app, I still am unable to login to the the USGA’s GHIN system online or on the GHIN app. It says “No membership found for this number and last name.” Also, I’ve yet to receive a daily handicap revision despite having all my scores from Summer 2018 through the end of 2019 inputted into TheGrint app. Please fix this! I’m beginning to think I don’t actually have a GHIN number at all..

Big fan when it doesn’t crash!. Love The Grint! Would be great if it didn’t crash when I’m just about to start a round though, or right after I finish when I try to review my round. Was logged out of the app automatically today and it won’t reopen and recognize my login credentials. Checked on the website to see that it was correct login and it was...maybe it’s just buggy because my round today was buggy also!

Love this App. This is the best free golf app I’ve come across so far. Has all the courses available in my area, it finds them as soon as you open the app, and the distances are very accurate in the GPS feature. Admittedly it took me a little while to figure out the flow of the app while i was playing but once I got it it is very easy to use.

Great App for stats and score tracking BUT. Love the app been using it for years now. Excited for the shot tracking function watch soon to come. ISSUE: there doesn’t seem to be a function that allows to review/edit shots tracked through the phone. By mistake I have selected the wrong club during the shot track and would like to be able to edit it. Hopefully this can be fixed.

Locked out of my account. App locked me out as soon as I purchased the pro status. Tried resetting my password but I didn’t get an email. Tried emailing help but no answer. Don’t buy the pro app unless you have a few days before you want to use it, maybe longer....we will see

Too easy to mark a round for a handicap that should be a practice round and then no way to fix it. The app keeps handicaps for you, which is great. If you play on a par 3 or executive course though, it’s way too easy to incorrectly mark a round to be included in your handicap rather than as a practice round. That’s not so bad, but there is no edit ability. So the only way to fix it is to delete the round and reenter everything by hand! If I’m doing it by hand why bother with the app to begin with? When you delete and manually re-enter the score, that then spams your timeline with big ‘DELETED’ posts. If you message support, they’ll tell you it’s a feature that it does that and won’t update it for you. So basically the app makes it easy to do the wrong thing, doesn’t provide a good way to fix it, and blames you as the user. Frustrating.

Great improvements, needs a minor interface tweak. Love the 2023 improvements, especially the Apple Watch update. Excited to see where the added funding from the FootJoy partnership takes things. Also happy to pay $40/yr to help keep updates and improvements flowing. It’d be very helpful if at the end of the round, there was a simple interface for “okay you’re done, would you like to save or upload your score?” The confusion of how to save and exit without uploading is why my wife quit using the app since she kept double uploading due to league uploads.

Was the best golf app until the recent update. I tried them all the this app easily has the best watch UI. The most clean, had all the information, and by FAR had the best shot input screen. Until the last update where they completely nuked it into the ground AND PUT SHOT TRACKING BEHIND A PAYWALL. It’s an 8-bit counter, I’m not paying for that. There’s 100 other apps that do it for free. I’d carve my score into my forearm with a rusty spoon before having to pay to add single digit numbers together. I feel bad for the devs, you guys are great at what you do. Just poor management

Best for Walking. Used this to keep score with my buddies while walking a course and it made it so much easier than keeping track of the stupid scorecard and little golf pencil. The map helped a lot but the GPS did lose where I was if there was a bunch of trees near me. My advice invite your friends to the app before you play your next round so you don’t have to type in their emails.

What Happened?. Used to be able to use the App and get yardages on my Apple watch. Last 3 rounds it suddenly stopped giving me yardages on my Apple watch. I tried the usual delete. Reload. Log out. Log back in. Nothing. I read an article with the response from Grint IT that says this feature was removed feom Apple Watch. Feature? This should be a “feature” this is REQUIRED when standing in a fairway wondering how far to front/middle/back of greens on my Apple watch. No. I’m not going to stand in fairway with my phone as a crappy alternative. This removal of yards is a deal breaker. I’m out. This WAS a great App that I’ve used for years that has gone to CRAP. I’m out.

Huge Sync issue with Apple watch. I have seen older reviews that report sync issues with the watch. I’m fairly new to the app, but I played a round and tracked all scores, putts, etc from the watch. At the end of the round, it showed my score and told me to open the app to sync. When I opened the app, it pulled me to the 4th hole and erased all scores from 5 onward. While I was glad I saw my final score, I was not happy that my hole by hole and all stats were gone for the day. Very very frustrating. And this was on Bethpage black. A course I have never played and probably won’t get to for a while. I hope they fix this, as I don’t want to be pulling my phone out of my pocket to track scores.

What happened?. Have used for a year and love the app. For my last two rounds this past week I could not get the watch version to advance past the hazard screen to the next hole making it a real pain to use the watch. When on this screen I would have to go back their each screen to get to main screen where it would usually but not always advance to the next hole automatically. What happened? Please fix this.

App issues. Just upgraded the App last month and since then the App will not keep the phone from locking or the screen from locking like it used to. The screen would never go to sleep or lock when using the App during my round. Now the phone will lock by the time I come back from putting and I need to unlock the phone for the yardage and the entry of my score.

Beat golf app. This is the best golf app I’ve found for tracking golf stats and handicaps. I like a lot of the new features they’ve added. Only think I’d like to see an update to the Apple Watch app. I wish you could see the course layout on the app instead of just front back middle. Bc of this I’ll still have to use my golf watch instead of my Apple Watch when golfing

Was a great start… but not so much anymore. I joined grint the first time it was introduced and also had a group of friends join as well. Liked the concept of the yardage, live scoring and ability to use with Apple Watch for yardage distances etc. Well, support is always responsive and do a great job following up. However the actual app development and quality is absolutely horrible. Especially now that the grint has raised prices and offered a higher level of membership. The app has constant bugs and although introduces new features that conceptually sound great. The execution of the app and some of the basic features are constantly broken and full of bugs Don’t waste your money on this if you like or want to use their “advertised” features. It’s been a total disappointment especially if you want to use the features on your Apple Watch.

Best scoring and stats app I have found.. This is the easiest and least hassle app I have found for yardage and keeping score. Keeps stats as you go, no multi clicking to add stats. I have used for over 2 years and all of my group uses it. Not only is it free but it gives you an official USGA handicap, saving you an additional $20. I travel and every course comes up instantly when you pull in the parking lot, no searching. Not much reason to switch.

Awesome Experience all around. I’ve been using the Grint for a few months now, and I love it. I have suggested it to friends and family, and would recommend it to any golfer that wants to not only track their game, but also improve it. The costumer service is amazing as well! I gave them feed back on an issue, and not only did they recognize my email and thank me for the feedback, they followed up with me to let me know it was fixed! Every avid golfer should have this app.

Please stop breaking the app!. I purchased this app because it used to sync with my watch. Now it loses its connection and will not resync. This was working perfectly u til this season. Please do more QA before releasing your product. I am now considering getting Arcos because Grint no longer functions as I need it to. Don’t ask me to contact you about the issue. I am clearly not the only one having the problem. Just fix the app and stop breaking it or give me a refund if you don’t plan to fix it. I hate getting out on the course and discovering that my app is not working.

Minor bugs, quite good overall.. Generally quite good, though has issues with its connection to the Apple Watch. Particularly, the watch seems to not shut off when a round is closed on the phone. It’s also very annoying that if you chose not to make a round public it still syncs it to GHIN, causing you to have to delete the unfinished round instead of just completing it privately.

I am impressed!. The app works as expected, even the free version lets me track on my watch for an entire round. Staff were quick to respond when I sent an email regarding a missing golf course. They requested a picture of the card and the course was added in less than 5 days. AMAZING! A definite hole in one!

Best golf app!. There is no other app that compares to the Grint. It is essentially facebook for golfers merged with an official world handicap system. I like that you can see all of your friends’ rounds, how they rank, your own stats and round history. Trophy room is a cool feature too to track your accomplishments (birdies per season, rounds under 90, etc.). Using Apple watch to get yardages on the golf course is great too. Takes some getting used to at first but works as well as any other golf watch by Garmin.

Disappointing Changes to New Watch App. I have been a fan for many years, but the most recent update made a number of changes. The most disappointing change is that you now need the Pro version to score from your watch. That is not stated anywhere but beware if you use this feature (as I have for years), you will no longer be able to. I have always been a fan of The Grint because you could leave your phone behind and have full functionality from the watch. That is no longer the case.

I don’t understand all the love for this app. I only use this for a league I play in. Maybe I’m used to 18 birdies that has a much better interface but this app isn’t just difficult to use but also inefficient. Putting in past scores is nowhere near as easy as 18B. During the round, you have to flip back n forth from the GPS to your score, which is also atrocious to look at. Someone needs to make this app look better than a quad bogey on a short par 3

Just started using. I used this app for the first time today and I really liked it. I’m new to golf and the app made it easy to keep my score and track distance for shots. I also paired it with my Apple Watch which makes it very convenient. However, now whenever my watch ‘wakes’ it’s to this app. How do I get the app to close on my watch once I’m done using it.?

Stats are great. I love the app, love looking through the stats, but the stats are showing different numbers on their performance trends website than in the app interface and it’s driving me crazy. The ones on the website are the correct ones, so why can’t the app interface just match those? Things like after a round, the par 3 approach play screen always says I hit 33% of the par 3 greens if I hit 1 out of 4. Website correctly says 25%. That’s just one example of many.

Worthless if you have an older Apple Watch. I have the Pro version, but can’t connect my series 3 Apple Watch to the app which makes this worthless to me. There are several other apps that I can connect to including 18 Birdies and the USGA app. I see in responses to others pointing out this issue, that the blame is being put on Apple for recent updates. The updates have not impacted access on other apps, so this appears to be a cop out from this app’s developers….won’t be using this and don’t recommend for anyone with an older Apple Watch.

went from enjoyable to useless. before the latest update, this was a go to app for me, but now that you can only enter your score from your phone and no longer on your apple watch. if I wanted to have my phone out of my bag on every hole, I wouldn’t look to download an app that allows me to do it from my watch. hopefully this error in judgement will be corrected on the next update. if not, I’ll be deleting thegrint.

Almost…. Really want to give this app 5 stars. Unfortunately, while playing If using your watching 2/3 rounds will either logout or stop syncing (even with phone in my pocket the whole time) with my watch and lose all data. The watch feature for distances and scoring is such a great feature but I lose my score towards the end of the round most of the time. Had to look for an alternative app. Please fix the watch syncing! Thanks!

Good...not great. Upgraded to the Pro Package. There is a group of 10-12 of us that use the app to track our weekly scores. The stats and handicap system is good. However, major inconsistencies in the app. When using the tournament function it will often close and kick you out of the app mid round. Frustrating if you are trying to host a simple match play tournament (less then 8 people) with friends. Have also had issues with with scores not reporting correctly. Would save the money and not upgrade to Pro. Find a free alternative.

Awful Experience. No idea how it's 5 stars.. - Tried saving clubs multiple times, not saved after going through both times. - Adding a score doesn't easily show on your profile like I'd expect. Had to navigate through a few extra screens to verify it was there. - Photo import of score failed without explanation. - So many things are missing the fit and finish that great apps have. For example, selecting the date for a score card, then clicking the screen will not save the edited date. You have to click done first.
