Not accessible!!. The idea for this tuning app is a great one! The only thing is, it is not accessible to those of us who are blind. That’s why I don’t pay for a subscription. Not even the free version works that well!! And I have tried to talk to the developers with no results. I have done research and found out that I am not the only blind person who has tried to talk to the developers. Every time I use the app, the tuner stops working and I have to wait anywhere from a few minutes to three days before I get the screen that says allow access to microphone. Even then, it is not guaranteed I will get to the guitar tuner choice on the screen. It is frustrating and annoying I keep deleting it and starting over, still it doesn’t work!!! I use voiceover and I have an iPhone eight. Not only can I not use the tuner properly, but there are many things on the app that are not accessible!! The reason I bring up the iPhone is because my sister has an iPhone 11 and the app seems to work on her phone just fine. At least I know she can get to the tuning part of it. I don’t know about the rest, because she doesn’t use it.

I can tune a guitar but I can’t tuna fish.. I have had this app for a few years now. My guitar is tuned like no other. The only problem is…I can’t play it worth a crap. My aspirations to be a rock star were fueled at an early age by the 80’s metal bands. I wanted the fame, the party life, the chicks, the drugs and yes, even the long hair. The only thing that stopped me was my short stubby fingers and my inability to learn how to play my instrument. I did become a good drummer but it wasn’t enough to catapult me to fame. I did do the rehab thing like most 80’s band members that survived that era and my life has been blessed by the grace of God. But I still can’t play my guitar very well. I do have Smoke on the water down pretty good but only the very beginning of the song. So to recap, the app is great, I am not!!

Great app, extremely useful.. When I started playing Ukulele, I could never keep it in tune, it was a pain, and I had no idea where to start, so when I started learning guitar, I was even more overwhelmed. When I was playing one night with my horrendous sounding guitar, a friend told me about this app. I downloaded it, and almost instantly, my guitar and ukulele were sounding great. A year later, this app is still my go-to tuner, and although I do know how to tune without an app or tuner, this app truly helps me when I’m not quite sure. I recommend this to any guitarist, whether you’re a beginner, an amateur, or a pro. Even if you have a clip on tuner, this app is great for when you leave it at home, or can’t find it. 10/10 would download again.

Early user, lovin it. Super easy to tune the guitar, which is the main reason I downloaded the app. It’s been about 20 years since I last held my guitar and wanted to get back into it. Was a novice player at best but with many years of music experience on wind instruments and piano, to give a frame of reference. The song library is fun, and then it syncs with Apple Music when it’s playing a song. I switched to Apple Music just to remind myself what something sounded like, and when I flipped back to Guitar Tuna, the score started scrolling with the tune playing in the background! Very pleased so far and I’ve only had it for a week.

Best for learning guitar. Have you ever taken a class where the instructor not only allowed smart phones but insisted you download a specific app? Last year at my college I took a guitar class for non music major with no previous experience in guitar. It is called guitar class. So there were other students in it. It was 1 credit hour & I got an A. If you pass that with at least a C you can only take it once. I'm currently in what os called guitar elective. That is a one on one lesson in his office. Elective guitar can be taken as many times as the student wants. The pendulum is crucial to learning & the tuning is crucial to just using a guitar. This music teacher could teach a rhesus monkey to play the ukulele. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in the guitar whether they are a beginner or a pro stadium musician.

Standard only, then pay wall. Let me preface this by saying the tuner DOES work, but ONLY if you are tuning your instrument to the standard tuning. I may have shot myself in the foot because of how heavily I utilize my clip on tuners, whether I just have awful pitch memory or I’m straight lazy I can’t tell, but my tuner was lost in the move, sweet. My new town is small and doesn’t have any music stores with clip on tuners for guitars, so an app seemed like the best filler option. Gave this a go and immediately found it useless. Not many songs I play, if any, are in standard tuning. This app will only let you use the standard tuning, any other tunings and you have to pay a subscription. I understand all the features they offer but I’m not new to playing guitar, I don’t need the extra features when I have better resources for practice. Great stuff for beginners, awful for anyone at a comfortable level of playing. $5 a MONTH to tune your instrument, you better be changing tunings every half hour to make it worth your while. I highly recommend Fender Tune if you’re looking for a tuning app. The only downside is if you’re like me and own a guitar that isn’t a 6 string as they only offer 6 string tunings, but you get many more tuning options for free. Not too difficult to get a chromatic tuner and tune the 7th or 8th string yourself.

Works very well. As a young boy (in my early 20’s) I picked up my first hand me down flat top and bought a chord chart poster from Walmart and self taught myself how to strum chords enough to eventually start playing parties and small bars. I never did learn how to tune however but I can definitely tell when she’s out. I would always have to ask a friend or count on a small tuner that was easy to misplace or lose but now I can do it on my phone which I always have in my pocket and its extremely accurate as I’ve checked it on tuners and with class act guitar players including myself. There’s no bothersome pop ups (thank God) and it never asks me to buy anything,(again thank God) or I would drop it from my phone. Great deal for anybody out there.

So good i wrote a review.. Making the switch to trying life as an all digital, all mobile, iPhone based guitar(enthus)i(a)st ... giving up tubes and pedals for simplicity’s sake. I am trying out many dozens of guitar apps as a result — including tuners — and this one definitely stands out. I wish alternate tunings came free, but its worth the (minimal) price if you need them. Many of the apps i have used have tuners built in to them but — even when i am actively using just such an app — i still find myself switching to this one, and honestly i couldnt tell exactly quite why. Maybe its the fengshui of the layout but this app just has that all around quality feeling that makes it rise above the rest. Yeah, its just a tuner, but it nails the execution.

Used to be a good app. This app used to be a good tuner but now it’s bloated with useless features and a subscription. This is the problem with these types of developers, can’t leave well enough alone. They think they are doing a great thing by bloating the software and adding a subscription. Could you imagine paying a subscription to a tuning device bought at the music store? I want a comprehensive tuner, not games and play along lessons. Split the app in two. A separate tuner and a subscription based teaching app. If I remember correctly, it was a small fee to pay for a different kind of tuning like drop D. I would be happy just to pay a small fee for a particular tuning and be able to keep that. A subscription for a tuner is cost-ineffective. I’m starting to think this app was designed by a physical tuner company pushing you back into buying and using a physical tuning device. I am not going to pay a subscription just to get drop A tuning for my seven string guitar. It’s not going to happen because I’m not using any of the other functions. I’m not attempting any free trial that tricks you into actually subscribing either. Cut the fat and make a simple tuning app without the bloated features. I’ve noticed a handful of reviews being lowered, because users from the app’s early days have come back and found the bloated app with a subscription to be less than satisfactory.

I really like this app!!. I've never personally tuned a guitar,- I've always had to have someone tune it for me when I briefly owned several guitars many years ago. At the time, I had bought them for my (now) ex husband so he was the one who always tuned them. But unfortunately, when I eventually left him- He got rid of them all instead of giving them to me since I paid for all of them. So needless to say, I've never really had the chance to learn how to play much at all. Recently, I was given another guitar from my sister, & knew I needed to learn how to tune it so I downloaded this app. I find it extremely easy to use & very helpful. Now I can tune my guitar (& maybe??) FINALLY learn how to play like I've always wanted too!! I LOVE Music & have to listen to it daily, it's my "Escape" from the world, my life, & all the problems or stresses that I might face daily. I've always wanted to learn how to play for as long as I can remember, so that I could eventually learn to play (at least some??) of the songs I love to listen to everyday or maybe even some that I grew up listening to as a kid. I'm thankful for this app so I can begin my journey towards reaching my goal/dream of learning how to play guitar & music. Thank you for making this app so very easy!! I Love It!!

Overall great, but missing a few things. Let me start by saying this is a REALLY good app. It’s very accurate, it saves me tons of time with tuning, and it has ALMOST every tuning under the sun to choose from. That being said, for more advanced players who are using less popular tunings like drop G, drop G#, drop F, etc., you’re going to have a really tough time because those aren’t an option. There IS an option to custom tune a 6 string which is great, but does also have some limitations. But I really do wish there was an option to do custom tuning for a 7 string because they only offer standard and drop A for 7 strings (yeah, they’re the most commonly used, but not the only ways to tune a 7 string). But otherwise, really well made app!

ITS GREAT. You get just enough with the free version and the the subscription just makes things more convenient and easier to learn. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the songs on there don’t really reach outside of English. There’s no songs on there in a foreign language. And I know there’s more on the yousician app but you have to pay for everything on there so why do that when you can watch adds to learn popular songs easily. They also don’t have as many popular songs as expected. It’s a situation where you’re looking for a song not even by a super big artist but one that has a few popular songs and you can’t seem to find their most popular song but happen to find one of their least known songs just sitting there. Besides that it’s one of the best guitar apps to have!

More than just a tuner. I downloaded this app cause I didn’t have a guitar tuner and I didn’t want to buy one if I didn’t have to. So I downloaded this app thinking it was just a tuner, and only using it as a tuner for a few weeks. But one day I was trying to learn a song on guitar and I didn’t know one of the chords, so I was looking through apps but all of the good ones had you do the subscription and pay and whatnot, then I tried looking it up but it didn’t help, so I gave up basically. Then I was experimenting around with this app, seeing what else it had, and then I found it! Under games I found a learn chords game and the learn to play chords game and I found the chord I was looking for!

Nice app definitely recommended. Hello everyone reading this. This is an app that made my life so much easier. I started playing guitar 4 months ago and I didn’t know anything about the guitar. So I needed someone to tune my guitar for me or at least help me (My grandpa knows how to play and tune guitar. He was pretty young when he started playing on it. But I can’t always ask him to help me). So this app was just perfect for me. It’s free. It shows you all the chords. It’s precise while tuning. And it has little mini-games as well (although if you want more games you need to pay. But it’s pretty reasonable price). So the bottom line than. If you want the basics of the basics on guitar this is the app that will provide you with anything. If you want to learn more you need to pay (But I think their Yousician app is much better if you wanna “master” the guitar). And the best thing is that the app is beautiful, it has a good tuner and all the chords you will probably ever need. (This was kinda too big of a bottom line 🤣) Thank you for reading!

It does exactly what it needs to and has more. I’ve never used the extra features but from what I’ve seen they seem to work really well though I don’t pay the subscription for any of the extra stuff. They don’t bar any of the base functions behind a pay wall instead they have extra completely optional features that you can pay to get and they still take good care of the base app. It’s really useful for someone who just needs to tune their guitar really quick and is a lot less tedious than carrying around a tuner. Not to mention a physical tuner provides no more benefits than this app. I recommend all guitar players have this in their back pocket. The only thing it can’t do with the base app that I don’t like is that it can’t tune the strings in notes other than standard tuning. Though even so considering it’s free it’s still a really good tool to have considering the convenience it offers since you’ll have your phone on you most of the time anyway.

Useless tuner. Such a pain to use and I’m giving up trying to tune my acoustic guitar with this app. For example the green bar will never ever settle in the middle of the tune graph letting you know you’re in perfect tune — the notes are always “too high” or “too low,” no matter how much I try to correct it to achieve perfect pitches on my guitar. Since the first method was a bust, I tried relative tuning, trying to get one note in tune by using the app, and then taking it from there, tuning the rest of the strings by ear. That was annoying too, because the notes in the app don’t ring out for several seconds like on a real guitar — this makes it extremely tedious trying to get the low E string in perfect tune since the low E note in the app cuts off after half a second. It sounds unnatural and stupid. Not gonna fuss with this app any longer. I’m just gonna buy a cheap $10 tuner and delete GuitarTuna.

If you need simple guitar tuner this is it!!!!. My brother is the one who taught me to play a guitar and he got me my first iPhone and after we had not been able to see one another for quite a bit we were all at a cabin in Branson and I was wanting to play with him but I didn’t have a tuner with me , but he showed me this app and he loved it because it didn’t cost money to be able to tune the guitar and he was a professional musician and he used it while touring and when it was time for writing songs and he passed away feb 19 and I am never going to use anything else great app for free or the paid version it’s all really good , thanks so much, Joshua David Gile 3/16 godbless

Best Guitar app ever!!. I LOVE this guitar app! I finally started playing my guitar again bc of it. I’m learning songs on it, too! My husband has a banjo that he’s going to get reconstructed so that he can play it, as well. This thing has a ton of instruments that you can tune & play songs with! & it has many different tuning settings. I searched for a long time before I decided on buying this. This is the best app I could find. It shows you exactly how to play the chords, in case you don’t know or forget. & the songs have the original versions & simplified versions. I’m learning a Blind Melon cover of “Pusher”, & im learning so fast. The original version is actually easier for me to play than the simplified version. Some of the lyrics are wrong, but besides that this app is the coolest!! Very happy with it! & im playing my guitar almost every day now bc of it! They show you exactly which string & fret to play on, it’s truly helpful & fun! Thank you for such an amazing app!

Let me say this:. I really love this app. When I was younger, I really wanted to play a guitar. I finally got one a couple years ago. But I didn’t know how to tune it so I usually had someone tune it for me or I would play it untuned. But, I found this app, and I can finally tune it by myself. It’s really easy to use and I love it! It’s not complicated like some of the other tuning apps are. I also own a Violin. I’ve played violin for two years and I wasn’t able to tune it until I found this app today! I absolutely love this app! If you are reading this, you should really give this app a go. It’s easy to use. I mean.. REALLY easy to use! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the best tuning app ever!!!. Okay so I love this app for plenty of reasons. I had gotten a ukulele for my birthday but didn’t know how to tune it so I tuned it based off of hearing so it wasn’t good, but then my grandma tried tuning it for me but it just made it sound worse. So I never touched it again till months later. I decided to give it another go so I went on the App Store in search of an app that would work, the first to didn’t work but then I got this one. It works so well! You press the chord name, for example A chord, and then you play the string on the ukulele and it will listen to it to figure out if it needs to be tuned up or down! It doesn’t only work for ukulele but also guitar, bass , and even violin! Definitely recommend it’s amazing!!

not as simple as it used to be. I am a paying premium subscriber. Before they did a major overhaul on this app it was perfect. Then they added in a bunch of useless learning features that belong in a separate app. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to the tuner I get an annoying ad to buy an additional service I don’t need that I have to skip through and hit the very faintly hidden X to tune my guitar. Once I’m “finished” tuning (the app thinks I’m in tune but 1 or 2 strings are still out of adjustment so I still need the tuner) I get ANOTHER pop-up ad for playing songs on their publishing section. Extremely annoying, and should not even be presented to somebody who already pays for the app. The cosmetic changes they made with the overhaul are fine, but the overboard unavoidable advertising and useless features that belong in a separate app are super aggravating when all I need is a quick tuneup.

Love the app but one problem. This app is perfect for anyone who wants to learn guitar at home, best one out there. Me and my friend both use it for guitar lessons in our free time, but there’s one major problem with the app. The ads aren’t working, when you first get the app you have the choice to get like a premium subscription for unlocked songs or not. when you click a song you can either watch an ad or buy the subscription, when you choose to watch the ad no ad pops up and you’re stuck loading. I know it’s not just me having this problem because my friend also has this problem with the app. Once I waited almost a hour for it to load but it never did which became frustrating for me. I hope it’s just a small glitch for us and nobody else has this issue

Good accuracy. I don’t usually write reviews about apps, since I find it very helpful to read about others experiences with apps, maybe mine can help people as well. I’ve been playing the guitar for over 40 years, so I was just looking for an app that could tune the guitar accurately. I love the fact that the app has so many separate parts that you can add to it. I don’t need all the other stuff, other players may enjoy the chord library, metronome, and the practice sections it has. Only thing I would like to see is the standard guitar interface have the ability to tune chromatically instead of having no guitar image at all. But great app!

Easier than I had imagined!. I’ve had this ukelele as wall decor for years. I’ve never played an instrument but since recently retiring I have time to try new things and took an ukulele lesson. The teacher suggested this app and WOW! Not only did it solve my tuning problem but I can actually play a couple of easy songs already! It has thousands to choose from, which was fun to peruse, and the songs come as originally written or in ‘easy’ mode, which is a huge confidence builder. The songs scroll as you play - or not, your choice. Guitar Tuna may have features not listed here but for now, I’m enjoying what I’ve found too much to look further!

i love this app, only 3 complaints. i frequently use this app to get the chords for my piano, as it is just the same as playing the chords on guitar. i use it about every day, and i love it. there are a couple things that i do not like about this app though. 1. you always have to watch adds before every song you play and it’s super annoying 2. it’s always asking you to sign up and pay for yousician, and you have to X out of that option every time, and it pops up every time you open the app and after every song. there’s not even a place you can hit “don’t ask again” 3. you rarely ever get the songs you request for anyways, I overall love this app, but if these few things could either improve or get fixed/changed completely, my review would no doubt be 5 stars :)

OMG!. GET THIS APP IMMEDIATELY!! This app is so beyond helpful. Not only does it help you tune your guitar, but it also shows you note names and how to play them. I have learned notes off this app and I also really enjoy playing the songs, most of them are either free or you just have to watch an add to play them. I like how in a song you are playing you can press on the note letter and it tells you how to play it if you aren’t sure. I think it is voice activated when you are playing or even tune activated so during the smart scroll it knows when you are ready for the next verse when you are o playing that next specific note. It has so many good qualities for a free download you won’t regret it!!

Completely RUINED a great app. I’m sure that I’m not alone when I say that I downloaded this app (years ago, mind you) because I needed a guitar tuner. The app filled that need. It was great—open app, app opens (immediately) directly to tuner, the tuner worked, and the app stayed out of your way—perfect. Unfortunately, the dev has now introduced a bunch of features that have made the app slower and intrusive. Now, the app opens to a loading screen. You sit and wait. When the tuner finally comes up and you can start tuning—Hey! You know what’d be great!? If a modal (popup) window overlaid the screen (and the tuner, which is dimmed due to this) prompting the user to use one of the new features! You know—the features that the user intentionally skipped and didn’t go into the menu and select because they didn’t want to use them—they simply wanted to tune their instrument… Yeah, wouldn’t that’d be great?! If you think so, you’re in luck! Because that’s exactly what the app does now. Oh, what’s that? You want ads now too?! Boy, have I got the app for you! The dev will likely try to justify the ads by saying that they pay for the development costs… Yeah, the dev costs of the new features literally no one asked for. There were no ads when it was a simple app. It could have and should have been left alone! I already deleted the app, as have all of my friends. Colossal misstep, devs!

Solid Tuner. Lemme start with the one flaw: WAY too many ads for Yousician. I've heard great things about Yousician, don't get me wrong, but it just seems a little silly to have a whole section in the toolbar devoted to a different app. Now that my complaint is outta the way, I have to thank the devs. Like, seriously. Thank you guys. I am by no means an avid musician (I just picked up banjitar a month ago, and the only other musical knowledge I have is choral), and this lil app right here has helped so much. The tuner itself, the initial reason I got GuitarTuna, is phenomenally precise, even in my old iPhone 5c. I'd swear by it. There's also the super extensive chord library, which I will never have the expertise to fully delve into. GuitarTuna has helped this awkward, musically naïve teenage dude begin his journey down the road of banjitar enlightenment. This is one app that will always have a place very close to my heart: in my phone.

Great visual tuner- my go to tuner. I have loved this tuner since the first time I tried it maybe six or more years ago. I mostly use it for acoustic guitar and lately for ukulele. Obviously the free version (which is what I have only used) has ads and other irritations (and locked functionality) that would undoubtedly disappear for the pay version. But you generally do get what you pay for and for me when my clip on and other three dimensional tuners either have no power, dead battery or I lose trust in their accuracy or my own ears this is my main go to. As with any of the tuners using built in microphones for input, as long as you can have relative silence when tuning this tuna is tops. Great visuals too - reminds me of kicking the football straight through the exact center of the goal posts to score a field goal or extra point after a touchdown. Except a bell like tone rings in E and both posts light up when you are exactly in tune. Kinda like when the football referee signals a touchdown - holding both arms straight up above him clearly letting the crowd know the team scored - and your specific string is now in tune. Get the free app.

sick!. i got this app when i FIRST started playing guitar and it did its job well, taught me all my major chords and tuned my guitar pretty well, but as i progressed (learned everything the app had to offer) i realized i needed everything else the app had to offer so i purchased the pro version and its 10x more useful. Basically what im trying to say is this app is great for beginners (beginner myself) but you definitely need the pro version if you’re really gonna take guitar seriously and use it on a day to day basis to teach yourself guitar and progress, unless you’re going for in person lessons with a teacher of course. If you're not going for in person lessons don't worry this app will take care of you.

Versatile and very usable. The tuner provides great visual feedback during the tuning process, and is rapidly responsive. It is a bit sensitive to environmental noise, even using a contact microphone, so works best in a relatively quiet setting: people in the room are fine, but several instruments tuning near each other is a problem. I'm guessing the iOS sound input system has a lot to do with this; perhaps the best the app can do is try to focus hard on the pitch with highest amplitude. In terms of design, the tuner is very informative. Being tied to an instrument profile allows it to give clear direction, though it may mean that you need to purchase one of the profile sets to get the data for your instrument. The only thing I miss for this function is a chromatic tuner, since it's sometimes nice to place a pitch you're hearing. The chord library is very rich, if you play a guitar. The metronome is handy as well. I don't use the games or song exchange. The topics look interesting, though. Overall, if you're willing to make the modest investment in the expanded tuning profiles and don't absolutely need the ability to display an arbitrary pitch, it's an excellent choice as a tuning and reference utility.

Amazing!!😁😁😁🐠. This app has helped me many times and I have to tune my instruments a lot. I play the Ukulele and Guitar and I never have a problem tuning it.I don’t have the ability to tune and instrument by ear at all so I really needed this. I downloaded a few tuning apps and all of them were about the same. There was chords and it had to listen to try and tell you when it is right. But that’s about it, and most of them had pretty poor audio. Than I decided to use this app because I heard of it but I thought it would be the same and people just overreacted about a simple guitar tuner. Soon after when I downloaded the app my mind changed almost instantly. There were so many instruments to choose from and it has great audio and there is more than just tuning guitars. More musicians should discover this tuning app because this app helped me a lot and without it I would still be having my half sister toon it by ear whenever she comes. Thank you for this wonderful app it has helped me a lot and there is no way to say how good this app is. It is amazing and I recommend this to anyone with an instrument or instruments that they play a lot and need a tuner for. Honestly, this is amazing! -Kt

The King of the Field!!. From all of the tunner apps on the market I’m only reviewing the ones that are free. Being a real musician, and currently having zero to no money, when I type into google ‘tuner apps for free’ I’m assuming the results are going to be representative of free tuner apps.....not apps that are free until you want to tune with them.... Apparently that’s what most app development people assuming is going to work. What they don’t understand is that when I go through all of the effort of finding your app, downloading your app, installing your app, opening your app, and learning how to use your app....only to be greeted with “you must purchase this app in order to get it to work…They not only have lost a customer… They’ve made an enemy for life… I actually have a special spot in my password black book it’s labeled poison… In on this page or only the names of the developers who have wasted my time by misrepresenting their free app… This app, is a breathe of fresh air. You can actually use this app to tune your guitar for free… If you pay additional amount it’ll do a lot more cool stuff for you, but if you don’t have the money to pay for the upgrades, it still functions fantastically as a tuner … Four stars… A+ plus… Way to go guys you’re the best

Worst update to happen to a great app. Period.. I contacted the developer immediately when I opened the GuitarTuna at the start of my teaching day after the recent changes were made to the tuner. My suggestions fell on deaf ears- literally deaf. I no longer suggest to my new guitar, bass, and ukulele students to use this app. Anyone familiar with the app before the changes knows that it is now virtually unusable with students especially in the 6-10 year old age group. With the squiggly, floating lines, which are useless and make no sense, the tuner is ruined. Try the app with your 6 year old and see what I mean. The previous tuner was intuitive and beautiful— not so anymore. Don’t waste your time and keep this away from your 75 students like I do. BTW, I have been teaching for 45 years and totally embrace and teach using technology- this app ain’t in the ballpark.

Ads ads and more ads. For context, I got GuitarTuna years ago when it was free before it was acquired by yousician. Even though standard tuning was free, I play drop tuning a lot and purchased it then for about $4, and thank god I did. Now I am diving deep in experimenting with tuning and when I checked to purchase open for what I assumed the same price. They wanted me to pay $8.99 a month just to tune the guitar, ridiculous. But okay, fine, they have to make sales whatever, so let me just use the power tunings I have available? Nope. When I open the app, there’s an add inquiring me to purchase full access for a bunch of features, dude I just want the tuner. I must’ve closed the ad about a thousand times now. And you’ve guessed it, if I don’t want to see it anymore I’ll have to pay $8.99 a month for something I already purchased. Even more annoying, after I’m done tuning, the system recognizes it and forces me to try and playa song with chords, so I have to put my guitar down, walk up to my phone that’s in my desk and press the x. Super inconvenient and tacky way of trying to force someone to makes purchase. They should have the option to remove ads for someone THAT ALREADY SUPPORTED THEIR BUSINESS AND MADE A PURCHASE TO REMOVE ADS ALREADY

I *USED* to love this app…. This used to be my go-to tuning app and I’d recommend it to any of my friends picking up guitar or who needed to tune, but since they made it so you can ONLY use standard tuning and have to pay for a subscription for literally anything else, I’ve come to DESPISE it lol. There aren’t really any apps that tune well and now I honestly just tune by ear using free websites because GuitarTuna is unusable unless you want to waste money on *another* subscription, or are the only guitarist in the world who somehow only uses standard tuning. Even making this app so you had to purchase a “Pro Version” for a one time fee would be do-able and less obnoxious than what the conditions are currently. I’m deeply disappointed by their introduction of this, as I used to use this app religiously. Formerly, I would’ve rated 5 stars, but as you can see, I’m unable to do so anymore.

Great for any level guitarist. I have played guitar for over 20 years. I love this app. It is a relatively accurate tuner that is always as close as your phone. I play guitar and bass, depending on what band I am playing with and my mood. I enjoy this app because of the versatility of the tunings. Sometimes I play in standard, sometimes half a step down, sometimes in drop C, and open tunings. All of these and more are a simple menu away. I use my Korg strobe tuner with my rig and a needle tuner for setups, but I honestly use Guitar Tuna more often than any other tuner. Plus there are lots and lots of other features for actually learning to play the guitar and work on your skills that I haven’t even touched. Even the free version is great for standard tuning. Drop the money and get the app. You will see that you get more than you pay for!

Good tuner, but…. Tuners pretty good, you gotta turn the vine down on your phone because every time you get into tune, it makes a noise, and throws itself off. What would be really cool is if you guys could do something about how as soon as it thinks that you’re in tune, it starts trying to get you to play some song or another. Sometimes it jumps the gun. But like at least if you have an AI in there that is trying to guess when you’re done playing it should be able to guess what song you’re playing once you’re in tune and let you play along with that right? I mean something a little more clever than a song is absolutely not what you’re playing, or you could just not do that at all.

More like a blessing than an app. My friend introduced me to this app and since then, this app has been a blessing in my life. With it, I am able to tune my ukulele, violin, guitar, and my best friend's cello. It is so easy to use and is very precise. Even with the free version (which is what I have) there is so much you can do. Not only can you tune your instrument with this app, but you can also use the tools in the app such as the metronome or the chords tool where it shows you the fingering for different chords on the ukulele and guitar. It also has an option in the chords tool where you can listen to the chord to make sure you are playing it correctly. Overall: I rate this a 6/5. This is probably the most useful app I have downloaded on my phone and it is so easy to use. Love love love it!!!

Great!. GuitarTuna is a great app for beginners and experts! Along with tuning there are many other features like learning chords and songs. It takes you from the fundamentals and beyond while keeping it engaging and fun. Unlike other guitar apps that only have one or two features, this app tests your knowledge and uses interactive techniques to teach everything you need to know. I’ve had it for a couple years now and it has gotten much better and progressed into a wonderful app. 10/10. I have recommended it to many of my friends starting our guitar for fun who didn’t want to pay for lessons.

I Can’t Believe it’s Free!. I’ve been using this application for years, and just the tuning feature is good enough for me! When I recently had my classical guitar re-strung, the music store employees expected me to tune it myself, with some little bug that hooks on the guitar. I respectfully declined, and brought the guitar home, so could use the Guitar Tuna (funny name!) to help me accomplish this task. I had to use my piano to get the low “E,” but after that, Mah Tuna took over! I was afraid that I’d bust some of the strings, because it was left so flat that I had to tune it up 5 notes, in some cases. Fortunately, nothing busted, including my guitar neck! I love the chime feature, when the tuning is spot on! I’ve been tuning my own guitars for over a half a century, and I can assure all of you that this amazing device works like a charm!!!

Great, but with a couple annoying quirks. Before anything else, let me say this app is still 100% worth getting and I use it pretty much every day. It’s not just a tuner, it’s everything you need when practicing on your own. BUT there are a couple minor problems that got pretty annoying the more I used the app. The chord library interface is really bad. I love that they have so many chords and alternate fingerings, but really I wish there was just a button for each chord, instead of having to slowly scroll a dial through every note and variation to find the one I need. Also, I think the tuning calibration might be off. In settings, it says it’s automatically calibrated to to 440hz. But, whenever I play something already tuned properly to 440, like a digital keyboard, it reads as a 2-3 semitones too high. I’ve tried this with multiple instruments and used the app on several different devices and it happens every time. You can easily get around this by just changing the calibration to 443hz in settings, but it’s something to keep in mind, especially if you play in a group with other people. Again, I still recommend this app, flaws and all. There are just a couple things I’d love to see improved in future updates.

Convenient tuner. Times when I didn’t have a tuner. At a dinner party, done eating and see an old beater guitar on the floor in kids room. Had the urge to freestyle a thank you for dinner song .picked up guitar and “wank” it was abused and sad. So had a little talk with my phone and like Superman pulled up the Guitar Tuna. Rallied all the strings to there proper singing voices and walked in with a hilarious thank you for cooking dinner song. Then mentioned the kid won’t learn or want to play if the guitar sounds like a fingernail on a chalkboard, get a tuner for the boy. Of course turned them on to the cake walk tuning of the tuna. Now I’m prepping for my freestyle after dinner song and trying to articulate that a little tuna after dinna ain’t bad!

I love this app!. This app has been amazing! Before I get into detail, this app has helped me learn so much, and I’m so glad I downloaded it. It has been the easiest way for me to learn chords. I first downloaded this app when I began playing guitar, to help keep it in tune. As I became more familiar with the app and my guitar, I started using the “learn to play chords” feature. When I was ready to learn new chords I purchased the full version. One of the best purchases I could’ve made. All of the features expand for the guitar. But, not all of the features expand for the ukulele. This is pretty disappointing. This app has been a foundation for me learning to play and I really wish they had the “learn to play chords” feature for the uke. Hopefully the developers are working on this! Honestly if you’re newer (or even experienced) to playing and are looking for an app to help you get your instrument in tune and learn new chords I’d recommend this app.

Super helpful!. The tuning part has been so helpful! And it’s nice that it came tune a surprising large variety of instruments. I expected just guitar, ukulele, and maybe bass, but it also has banjo, mandolin, violin… and more! Though, I must say, my favorite part are the songs! There are so many of my favorites that I can learn to play easily. Though, I do wish that it would give a strumming along with the chords. But I was playing the cords and it was still plenty recognizable as the song I was playing, so I guess it isn’t as important as I first thought. Overall, super great and I totally recommend. Thanks GuitarTuna! I love this app!

If i could put 4.8 then i would. First off, this app is great. I love it. But i do think that there are not enough free things in the app. You should be able to play all the games, and learn all the chords for free. And the second reason why i took off .1 stars, was because it didn’t offer every song that i wanted to learn how to play, and the songs they did have, it didn’t tell you the strumming pattern!! For example, i wanted to learn how to play margaritaville, and it didn’t have that. But other than those tiny things, this app is great. It tunes your acoustic/bass guitar on point. (I only have those two and thats why i didn’t put electric. Definitely download.

great for learning the basics but.... It only gets 3 stars because they need to add a feature where you can play the chord practice games without a timer, Because it gets really annoying to have to keep restarting the game if you are a novice trying to learn the chords and can only get a couple before you have to stop and pickup your phone to restart the lesson. I was so stoked to see there was a feature that would teach you the chords and pick up if you were playing them correctly through the microphone and I paid for the full app only to find out how ridiculously obnoxious it is to have to restart every 45 seconds. seriously you need to add a feature where you can just play the games with no timer or with a custom timer. it's messed up the way it is now where you can only play each game for 45 seconds at a time.

This is the easiest app to learn Chords💜. Hello Guys, I normally don’t even rate app at all but this one deserves a 5 stars ⭐️. I’ve been struggling with depression and my only scape is through music and this app helped me a lot with chords and learning how to play guitar properly. It has a variety of supplies such as Guitar Tuning and Chord dictionary, you are able to change the style of guitar so you can tune it, you can also choose between right or left handed. If you are interested in learning this app is amazing. You can use it for free or you can take it to the next lever and buy premium. This is not a sponsor I’m just sharing my story of how this app has been helping me with my guitar playing so I wanted to let you guys know that is worth it. Try it for a few days and then let me know if you guys feel comfortable 💜. Have a Great one! Everyone!

Rock On. My expensive guitar tuner broke. I tried another app before GuitarTuna and it was not great. Now that I found GuitarTuna, I do not think I will buy another physical tuner. Maybe when I get more advanced in my guitar playing but for what I have seen on this app, I will not need it. I love the noise canceling background, and the little features such as it directing you to tune up or down. I was also pleasantly surprised that when I was done tuning I played a chord and the app pulled up a song by cold play that started with that chord and provided the rest of the chords with the lyrics to play. It blew my mind and I started to look at rest of the app and explored. I’m happy with it. I would recommend it to a guitarist.

Saddest Day :(. I have used this app, for so many years. Since they released it. I would have continued to use it due to how convenient it was. I would have even payed a flat rate for it. It’s a portable tuner on your phone, you can never lose it!! The problem they have created is they’ve made a monthly subscription for a tuner. That completely ruined the app, I would be very open to come back to this guitar tuner, if there was a flat price. I would pay 40 dollars, the price of a normal tuner, because I know I’d never lose it. But paying a monthly subscription. Its simply because they added all of these crazy features. I know tons of musicians that have dropped the app and feel similar about the app. Drop the monthly subscription. Because I can’t even use it anymore. I even used the yousician app and payed for it back in the day. I’ve always been loyal to this company, but keep the tuner and everything else separate. That’s my opinion. And that’s why I must go find a new tuning app.

GuitarTuna. I play the drums ... yep I sure do , but I’ve also been playing guitar for just as long.. although I continually practise guitar , I would be no where with out my Guitar Tuna This app is seriously good and I know I can rely on it 💯 perfect of the time . Extremely simple to use and very accurate The learn chords section is fantastic... it’s all up to you ... do the work and you will get better... and thanks to Guitar Tuna , you’ll get there a hell of a lot quicker and learn the right way and it’s heaps of fun... just like music was intended to be .

Great app. This app is amazing im a 10 year old who got a guitar 2 weeks ago and I couldn’t tune it and I downloaded heaps of apps and stumbled across this app and I got it and was amazed at how cheap and efficient it was so u should definitely get this if ur a beginer oh and it also comes with a chord library that has a speaker for what it should sound like so everyone should get this app because its amazing

Great, honest app. Could not be happier! Gone are the days of looking for an accurate, guitar tuner that doesn’t cost the same as my first car. I only want to play casually, and I am completely satisfied with this app. Broad library with simple songs too, I was surprised with some of the songs they had!

This is so good!. I recently started playing and I got this app and now I know how to do the g chord the a chord the e minor and others! This app really helps me in many ways like, helping me practice chords, helping me tune my guitar which is especially helpful for when I’m playing my favourite song “come as you are”. I really appreciate this app and you really should get it to, you have tons of fun playing guitar and this helps it grow even better! I’ve only been playing guitar for a few months and I’m already rocking it out to me playing my favourite song! It especially helped me tune my guitar to the right tuning, I even learn power chords from my teacher and this helps me so much when I’m tuning it, you should get this! Download it now it really helps and by the way, I’m not a bot, I’m a real human.

Great app [fixed problem]. Hi, i think this is a good app but whenever I open it I get stuck in the opening screen for minutes. I tried reinstalling and it still didn’t work. Edit: Hi! Sorry for the inconvenience, it was a problem with my device, its fixed now when i restarted it. Thank you for reading!

Free play not working. I have used this app for over a year, and it has been great, but this morning when I tried to play something happened. I opened the app and clicked on one of my songs to practise, the app told me to watch an add, nothing out of the ordinary. It is usually a 30 second long add about another tuner app, but this time it was this weird “test reward add” which was about 5 seconds. After the add the app said “membership not found” I’ve tried different networks, restarting the app, but nothings working. I rely on this app to play guitar and now I cannot. Fix this app.

Glenn Burke from Banno (Bannister, Western Australia). Great app, no pressure to pay anything. At the start I just wanted to tune my guitar and TUNA was the the best app that I looked at, the most straight forward, took me to different levels if I chose to go there. This aspect of the app wasn’t available 2 or 3 years ago (I think)??, but may have been a “harder sell” back then, however, it, (TUNA), seems to have got it right by recognising their market. I’m an older bloke who actually embraces artists old and new, You’ve gotta ask yourself how &@$:#% lucky are we to have the variety of musicians, at our fingertips, that we do. What else I can say? GLENNO ”Burky’s Patch Bannister”

Something wrong. Used to be perfect. But its been playing up with my electric lately. It'll say a chord is in tune when it isnt. And then I'll try again in about a minute and it will say it's out of tune. Also keeps popping up with the message "you are in manual mode, make sure you're strumming the correct string" just because a string is a little bit out of tune, and it wont let me see the screen. Had to move onto a different app

A great tuning app that relentlessly asks for your money. If you want a great guitar tuning app that is feature-packed and intuitive then this your app. The fly in the ointment for me is the fact that I have to opt out of their subscription offer every. single. time. I open the app. This is disappointing as I paid for the guitar tuna app and I just want to use it to tune my guitar. Devs - please include a ‘don’t show me again’ option for the welcome screen so that users who paid for the app and don’t want a subscription can just get on with playing music!

Very Cool. I just started playing my guitar for the first time and needed something to 1. Tune the thing and 2. Help me learn cords so I could enjoy playing. This app does both and has so far been very helpful, from a simple tuning note to games to help you remember and learn the fingering for different cords. I personally recommend this app to learners or people who haven't played their guitar in a while

Best tuner ever. I always had trouble tuning my guitar all the things I tried before never worked but this one is really good you can choose the string or it will detect which one your playing and that sounds basic but it always works with no mistakes Definitely download if your looking for a good reliable tuner for your instrument

Versatile, accurate , and simple. I use this every time I play (as every musician should tune before practice) and it’s so quick and easy. As accurate as any other tuner I’ve used and essentially free. I regularly tune anything bass, violin, mandolin, steel string, and ukulele, and this app is easy to change between different instruments. Also has heaps of instruments to choose from, not just guitar. The in tune “bing” annoyed me at first because it’s a different note than you’re tuning...but you can turn that off very easily. 5/5

Just great. This app is great and free it always tunes my guitar easily and gives u tips and advice about how your guitar sounds da. It even includes songs to learn with tabs and for beginners just the chords and stuff and it has entertaining games that actually help u remember chords!!! I definitely recommend that u download this app if u r looking for some new app to tune ur guitar!!! 😘❤️😅

Once great app ruined by ads. Ever since Yousician or whatever bought this app, it has increasingly become frustrating to use due to taking every opportunity to shill their other services. Do you really expect me that a program that has worked quickly and effectively on phones for ten years all of a sudden needs to “load” on the most powerful handsets in production, just so you can show ads? Just say you’re showing ads, don’t try to cover it by saying the tuner is loading. If you go through all six strings, you will also see more ads pop up when you’re done. The UI is bloated to all hell with paywalled extras that I don’t need or want. This app was once great, but now it’s nothing but a gateway to get another subscription. And just look at the permissions it wants. These will sneak in through updates if you’ve had the app since it was good, but why in gods name does a guitar tuner need to access more of my data than some social media apps? Hmm? Hmm? Disgusting.

Really good app!. Hello, I play violin and I’m 12 years old. I’ve been playing for about 5 years and I found this app about 2 years ago. It’s really helpful as I don’t know how to tune with other apps because they have all the G5 and A3 stuff and I don’t understand what any of that means. GuitarTuna is really simple because they show you how off you are in whole numbers instead which makes tuning so much easier. In the time I have used this app I have found nearly no bugs or experienced any glitches. Thank you<3

The best guitar tuner ever. Brilliant app. Works great when restringing your guitar and I imagine any stringed instrument. Getting your new strings into tune with audio and visual all on one screen is so simple. All round the best and most intuitive tuner I’ve ever come across. Get the upgrade for the different tunings if you’re into that, it’s well worth it for the small cost. Highly recommended for both experienced and new players. Try it and see for yourself.

It tunes my guitar well. I only use this app to tune my guitar. And that’s it. There is a section where you can learn songs but I wish there was an option where you could listen to the song and actually know what it’s supposed to sound like. Overall I like this app for tuning my guitar but that’s all I use it for. I use the free version

Simple but sophisticated!. GuitarTuna has a classy user interface, good looking and easy to use. Accurate tuner. I have a reasonably good ear but a quick 30 second check saves me having to stop and tune a few minutes into the session. Chord library is handy for that odd chord you stumble across and wonder how it’s fingered - and then you have the audio bonus of being able to hear what it sounds like. Might be tempted by the premium features as they continue to evolve and develop!

A bit average, not awful, but average.. The app is okay, but the issue is it doesn't recognise chords properly and is overall not that great. My dad likes it but I don't really think that it is that good. I would rate it a 6/10. Not great, but just very, very average. By the way, no, do not get this app because it is rubbish and there are much better tuning games and apps that you can always download. Work on your apps, guitar tuna company. Not good enough at all.

Love it. I only just started using this app and I love how it teaches you the four chords and helps you memorise it. I do think that there shouldn’t be so much blocked off because I didn’t pay for a subscription but all in all it’s a great tuner and helps with learning my ukulele 😄😁

Great absolutely great the best. Hi everyone. If you have a guitar and don’t know how tune it just download guitar tuna it’s been such a good app in the last 2-3 years I’ve had a guitar love it I recommend you should get this app. So what are you waiting for just download it I know you want to come on go tell mom or dad now come do it know

Looks pretty, but .... I needed a tuner to set the intonation on one of my guitars and my physical unit was in for repair. Installed Guitar Tuna and soon found that I had to pay to. E able to choose arbitrary tunings. It wasn't clear what paying would give me, but it was certain that not paying didn't provide what I needed. So I paid full price for the "Pro" version. Step one sorted, I hit the first harmonic at fret 12 and ... FAIL - the app does not detect harmonics (or even octaves of a very limited range of fundamental notes). So I tried "custom" tuning ... FAIL - can't choose frequencies beyond the 3 octaves baked into the app. So now I'm down $20 and have another space waster on my iPhone. If your a serious guitarist looking for a software alternative to a physical chromatic tuner give this a miss.

Never fails. Have run it for years, and it’s only improved over those years. Lots of changes were made over those years and I can safely say, that this App has had a HUGE influence over most of those changes in my life, on this funny old planet we call home ;-) Ohhhh, I can on for ever. Don’t get me started.

Beyond Disappointing!!. I can’t use this app anymore! I’ve been using it for free for years cause it was a good tuner- and a while ago I paid to get different types of tuning cause it was easier. But now I’ve gotta pay a subscription to use an app that’s been free for years?? And what about the other tuning I paid money for? Is that all gone now too?? What a waste! I’d rather go to the local music shop and buy a tuner than waste money with this app. How disappointing to the loyal guitarists who were using it for years. Freaking sell outs man don’t waste your money with an app, learn by ear or go buy one. At least that’ll be a one off payment

Really good. I always forget my tuner and end up needing one, I ended up getting this app, yeah you can pay for extra stuff but it does have a basic guitar tuner for free wich is good because I always download an app that always says it’s free but then charges an arm and a leg!!

The most accurate tuning app with worst licensing model. I would gladly shell out $25 for an app like this, which would be fair, but this monthly subscription model is just plain greed. They know it’s an awesome product, and they are trying to squeeze you for the price of a Netflix subscription to use its full capabilities. Remove this unjust licensing model and allow people to pay a flat rate to OWN it.

mehhh. look it was a good tuner app for like a year or 2 but now when i go to use it, i’m on some annoying loading screen. Before i used to just open the app and tune the guitar straight away but now i gotta watch some loading animation showing some guitartuna play thing, it got so annoying to the point where i just ended up buy a tuner pedal🥴it was good while it lasted but unfortunately i wont be using it anymore 🥴🥴

Great tuner, only one thing I can’t figure out!. I use this for my uke and guitar and have been doing so for a while so far. It works like a charm, but I don’t think you can change what notes you want to tune it to for learning and writing better songs. That’s the only downside, as far as I can tell, this app is amazing! I highly recommend I.

It works ok ukulele to!. i have a ukulele and i had no idea how to tune it and now i found this app witch simply lets you tune it and its so easy you just strum the strings and it tells you if its to high or to low! it even has fun games that i play on that helped me with my transition I ONE HUNDRED PERCENT RECOMMEND THIS APP 🤪😜🤪🤪😜🤪😀😃😀😄😄😀😁😆😀😁😃😆😊🙃😉😋😝😜🤪🤣🤪😀😁😄😃😊😆😋😉🙄😂😲😭🥦🤣😇

Free!!! How do they do it??!!!. It is easy to use accurate and the best part it’s tuner components of the APP remains free required with the tuna is free I have been using this for 10 years. I can’t do without it. I am considering the premium version now and remain confident that I will not be disappointed

Help. I bought the power bundle from this app a while ago on my old phone, but then I got a new phone and got the app but my purchase did not carry over, I’ve recently got back into playing the guitar is it possible that the purchase can be carried over, instead of purchasing that bundle again, and I have changed my Apple ID either. Thanks

GuitarTuna Review. GuitarTuna is a great app to tune your guitar. Once you tune your guitar you are able to pick choices of songs or tunes to learn. I definitely recommend you this app because it is great for people who are just starting to learn any sort of guitar rhythms and tunes (have fun)

Needs Capo Tuning!/ chromatic tuner?. The app is fantastic and works perfectly and is my go to for tuning, however when it comes to putting a capo on the guitar i have to tune open and just hope for the best, introducing a feature that would fix this would make this app the best!!

Good app. Tuner works fairly well. Good song section. If the song you’re looking for isn’t there you can request it and they will upload it. The play as you go feature is great for learning and plying songs. Could do with some tweaking but I would recommend it to others to use.

Best acoustic guitar tuner and works for other instruments. What's great about it is it takes guess work out – even for an experienced guitar person, it makes accidentally over-shooting and snapping strings harder to do with its intelligence for showing you which string you are on and where are you are at as you are tuning-up – Ace!

Great app. I used this app to tune my ukulele and it worked so well. I couldn’t find any other app that was as good. I tried 20+ apps trying to find one that worked but none did. Then I remembered that I had used this app a few years ago to tune my guitar so I researched it to see if it tuned ukuleles. This app is amazing, five stars! 🤩🥳

Amazing and very impressive!. I would seriously consider getting GuitarTuna as it’s a very accurate app that I give 5 stars to! I think it’s the perfect app for a guitar player and not only it’s a tuna, It’s a game as well! It teaches you how to play guitar. From newbie to pro, you will really be good at guitar and also be taught how to self tune! I already know how to tune myself, but I still use the app to learn some funky chords! I’ve been using the app for 4 years and it really fits me. Thanks guitarTuna From Curtis

App does what it’s supposed to but the subscription cost is a spit in the face to all users. This app is good but it doesn’t deserve any of your money and most definitely doesn’t deserve a monthly allowance. 12$ a month just to tune my guitar to drop d… is this some kind of joke? what use is an app to replace a guitar tuner if it ends up costing you far more than any guitar tuner does over the course of a year? at least if I go and spend 80$ on a good quality guitar tuner it won’t knock on my door every month expecting a handout for doing no more than what it is advertised as being capable of. I understand that there’s all kinds of stupid games and exercises that you get access to with a subscription but no one really wants those as the app is a tuner and hence people downloading simply want a tuner. If there is some massive investment in creation of this app that the owning company needs to make back through sales they should simply sell the app for 1.99$ not leach off as many users as they can fool into taking up a subscription

Used to recommend the app to everyone- not anymore. I have been using this app for years and it’s been a great and straightforward app - not until they started charging for tuning the guitar. I suggest giving users options so they can pay for the services they need, instead of charging them $12/month regardless of how much they can fain from the app. You’d want to attract users to stay and pay voluntarily, or you’ll lose them.

Spot on and easy!. Was skeptical about it because I've always had trouble with something like this when it comes to other sounds around me while tuning my acoustic guitar but it blocked out other sounds and was so easy to use! A lot easier then running around the house trying to find a battery for my normal tuner.

Its great for standard tuning but a bit over priced for anything else.. It’s my #1 go to tuner because it’s very strait forward and perfect for beginners and can even teach you a few chords but unfortunately if you want anything other standard tuning it’s a monthly subscription. I would much prefer it if it was just one upfront cost even it it were a pretty penny because there are too many susbcripoins that just drain your account these days. I don’t change my tuning very often so it’s just not worth it to me.

Smart Scroll. I love the guitar tuner, but the absolute hidden gem in this app is the songs section with the propriety AI Smart Scroll. These two things combined are such a game changer for me. I would love to see more functionality in this section of the app in terms of being able to create set lists and sort songs manually or alphabetically. I could so easily see myself using this app to play gigs with. It would also be great to be able to save any transpositions to songs into a personal library set list or at least have it save while still showing the original key. I would also love the ability to suggest chord changes where they may not be right. All this to say that if there was a way for more community input to make the song section even better than it already is, then watch out world, I say. Well done team.

Easy Peasy. Great app. No messing about and wasted time answering questions, ticking boxes, etc ...straight into a very clear way of tuning my guitars...it’s my go to...thanks guys. Also works a treat just tuning my electric without having to plug in at all… other tuning apps struggled with this…… awesome..

This App is Great!. In my opinion, this app is great for people who want to play guitar. It’s easy to lose you tuner (in my opinion) and this helps me so much! I started playing when I was 8 (I’m 12 now) and this helped me not give up on guitar. Thanks for making this app, and I hope that you make it even better!

Maximum grapes🍇🍇🍇🍇. As a professional guitarist I need a top notch tuner, for when I can't tune it myself, this app was really helpful and fit my needs exceptionally well but as the years went on the app started glitching and soon enough every few days I had to reinstall Guitar Tuna so it would score me correctly. I ended up getting a new guitar app ten times better then this one which I would highly recommend but I don't want to dis influence you in whatever you want Because all people like something different and I like grapes

:). It’s wonderful! Quite accurate and good at ignoring background noise. The only thing that bugs me is the note that plays once the string is close to in tune - it just gets in the way when I’m aiming for 100%. If there has to be a note there, something like how that string should sound would make more sense.

This apps great but there’s a catch. I’m lazy af so here’s the simple version. Basically it’s a great app for alternate tunings and stuff at a decent price it’s just really annoying when I pay 8$ and then the next week it says your subscription is still there except it wont let me access it unless I cancel and re purchase so basically I’m paying roughly double and somtimes triple for an app that lies about how long u keep the subscription for it says pay monthly but I have to pay weekly or it doesn’t let me use it. Don’t get this app if ur gonna get the alternate tunings

Cash hungry 😂😂😂😄. You have not only made this app just for money but you have taken away what was in my opinion one on the best apps for guitar and turn it into something that made not only delete it but remove my account from your company entirely, well done you monsters I have been using this app since I was first shown it in 2014 and I never had to pay for anything thanks for ruining on of the good things I had from my teen years. Cheers douche bags 🤪

All Round. This is a great tuning app! I tuned my sister's electric guitar, my step sisters ukulele, my ukulele, my mother's guitar, my father's electric guitar and my step mother's ukulele! I highly recommend this app! It works for most strings and you get to choose what instrument you use. You can manually choose the cords you want to tune if only one cord is out of tune.

Great app. This is an amazing app I am so glad that it is free. It has saved me hundreds over the last couple of years as I have not needed to spend any money on a tuner and it is fantastic. It picks up your tuning even when your surroundings are noisy and I love how it detects the note. It has base and ukulele as well as guitar which is great for my band and for school. It is also amazing in that it is linked with yousician so learning is easy. It is a great app and would recommend it to anyone.

Love it. I use it before every practice 😀

Broke a string. Now I have to go spend my time and money to go fix what you did to my instrument. You suck😠

Amazing Mobile Tuner!. For people who don’t have physical tuners this is a very very solid choice. Not only is it great for guitar, but it’s great for almost any stringed instrument! Only thing I would add is different tuning presets (drop D, drop C, etc) that would make the app 10x more useful.

Very good. Not like any other app

SuOkay dit. Choyé

Awesome!. Great App

Great and easy to use!. Recommend

Perfect. It’s exactly why a need

A super nostalgic classic bringing me back eight years ago or more!. Me cry, cry, cry, me cry!🥺😢😩 Thank you so much!☺️

Great app!. This app works well even if your bass/guitar/ukulele isn’t plugged in.

Made me break my string. The app is really helpful but it made me break my string so i have to go and repair it :/

Great. Prolly one of the most reliable tuning app out there

Love it. Great tuner

Yup. Ty

Bravo. Très bonne application

Amazing app. amazing application to practice guitar

Pretty good for a 6 string. Simple to use but would like if they had a free 12 string option.

Worth 5$. It’s helped me lots

Nice. Nice

it won’t work. i bought the yearly trial and it’s stuck on a black screen. i’ve restarted the app but i still have this black screen and i can’t do anything about it

awesome app. 👍👍

Great and simple. You n may have to buy additional instruments. Yet lovely tuner

Best of the best app ever. Easy and super fun

It works. Works and free for normal things. Need to pay for 12 string which is dumb

Awesome. Great app

Love it but one problem. So I was tunning the high pitched e string and suddenly it snapped

Recommend it!. Easy to use, free, very grateful.

Lovely app!. This app help me the most to tune my ukulele, also I love the fact that you can find any kind song you want and practice it! But my only issue is that every time I go to the app I need to retune my ukulele all over again even if I didn’t touch the tune but overall it works great and it good for beginners X3

Thanks. Great app highly recommended

Guitar player. This app is very accurate in keeping your guitars in tune. I use the metronome for practice and the chord charts for learning new variations of chords for jazz. Can't live without guitar tuna.

goofy. it can tune pretty well but i have no goddam clue what they are doing with the chorda

Guitar tuna. Great app for beginners

Great. Super great!

Rating the app. It is easy and a great app too tune my guitar

It works I’m so well. Thank you it’s a life saver boy having to watch videos and match the perfect sound just to tune your guitar.

This app is amazing. It’s free and you can tune your guitar and it has different types of string instruments🙂

Amazing. So user friendly. Works every time

Awesome. This app made me tune my guitar now I am Kirk hammet

Tuner. I love this App. It a great guitar tuner. 100% better than the 7 I own. I upgrade to yearly subscription and the songs etc are perfect. So happy I found it. Gwen

Why?. Why on earth would they make you pay for alternate tunings?

This is ridiculous.. I used this app all the time, now when getting back into guitar, i need a membership?! So dumb, i dont want to sound like a boomer but why does everything require a damn subscription

Wow!. Very easy to use interface. Awesome song recommendations for new guitarists! And it’s got some fun features that make trying out new chords feel like a neat mini game. 10/10 recommend. Anyway, here’s Wonderwall.

Amazing. Xggf

Should be banned. This app is garbage I tried tuning my guitar and I end up breaking my string the app is broken it had happened to others

Ok. It’s good

Avis. Cette application à des achats intégrés.

Top. Top

They’ve ruined the app. I used to really enjoy this app, paying a bit extra to access alternative tunings. It was quick and easy to use. Since the update, I know have to wade through an ad asking me to pay $40 a year to access the full version! Much more than a Snark clip on tuner. You can still use the free version, but you have to figure out how to clear the ad first. There must be people with money to burn who’ll pay $40 annually, or else it wouldn’t be worth it to lose so many users, but I’d recommend a different app or, better yet, a clip on tuner. Giving it two stars, as you can still use the basic tuner if you figure out how to get rid of their ad.

GREAT, but I still have some ideas. Read a different review if you want to know all the good the bugs about this app because they cover them all. I just wanted to make a suggestion. It is already so, so useful, but it would be even more useful if there was an option to play the learning games without a time limit so that the user could just practice accuracy if they are not ready for accuracy AND speed yet. A feature that tells you what chord/note you are playing would also be helpful if you want to play a chord/note and then check if it is what you meant to play.

Good App. I highly recommend it. I got a guitar 5 days ago, and I used this apps games. It's $7 for all the levels in the game but it's worth it. In my opinion, he games are the easiest way to learn the chords, and each level has different chords in it. The games also tell you if you're doing the chord right which is nice to have. I prefer this app over the fingering chart book that my dad gave me! It's a good app that makes guitars easier to learn. Another thing to note is that you can also learn the bass, the ukulele, and both acoustic and electric guitars using this app.

Great for beginners. I just started learning how to play guitar and this app helps so much! Don’t have the time to find and use a tutor in person so I’ve been YouTubing songs and practicing when I can. Not only does it save you the money from buying a tuner, if you come across a chord you aren’t comfortable with or don’t know or maybe just want to see the other ways to play it, there’s a section just for chords. I enjoy this app and will be using it far into the future. Thank you to all the people who spent their time making this amazing tool!

Almost cost me money. If I could rate this 0 stars I would I felt like my guitar was a little out of tune I remember last time I use it (I take private guitar lessons) my teacher said it’s out of tune it said my G string was low so I was making it higher then it was difficult and I could make it any higher so I gave up. 5 minutes later I went to lessons my guitar teacher always tunes my guitar and he told me that if I made my G string any higher it would have popped my violin string popped off before and it wasn’t cheap I’m about to uninstall this app and use a different one I also looked at bad reviews and I felt bad because there strings actually popped off! How dare you make my string almost pop off! Deleting right after I’m done with this review!

awesome!. i use this app mainly for its tuner, but i learned the chords on here as well and i have only positive thoughts. whenever i want to play my guitar i just pull out this app and tune it, its a literal lifesaver. i tried other apps but none of them are quite like this app, they either have no clue which string im plucking and dont tell me how to tune to my guitar properly. Love how they havent made the tuner ‘pay to use’, so useful! i really recommend this app to someone needing to tune their guitar, and advice to newbies, dont be scared! trust in the app! (just be careful not to break your strings)

Best app I’ve ever used in my life. This app is brilliant. It has made my experience so much better and I truly and I mean truly love this app, and I will recommend it to anybody that I know that plays the guitar because it is just a great app and it deserves a raise and it deserves everything in the world because this is just a great app out. It has helped me with everything so I appreciate this app. this is the best app as I said before you have to download this. It’s awesome incredible and definitely worth your time and your money.#SpeakingFromTheHeart.🩷

Not going good so far. Okay so I’m 12 going on 13 and I have used this app for almost 5 months now, because my Teacher recommended me to get it, She said that it would be easy to use for me so that I could tune my guitar. And it has up until now, today I was going to practice my guitar and figured it was probably out of tune, so I got on the app and started to tune it. When I got to my low E, it kept saying it was in tune and I knew it wasn’t, I even deleted the app and reinstalled it and it still didn’t work, so until y’all get it fixed I’m going to use another app. NOT HAPPY😬😤😤

Subscription for a TUNER?!?!. The free version of this app only supports a few standard tunings for popular instruments—there is no chromatic tuner available. You will also have to wait a few seconds before tuning to watch an ad. If you are using the free version of this app at least turn off cellular data for it in your settings—that way ads won’t load when there is no wifi. Requiring an exorbitant and repeating fee for a chromatic tuner is unheard of. Just pay the $10-$20 once and get a real Korg tuner. And the fact that we have to watch an ad before tuning on the free version is downright insulting. There are plenty of free chromatic tuner options on the App Store, including Tuner T1 and Tuner Lite. Do not support this app, both because the price is unreasonable and on the principle that a subscription should not required to use a tuner.

One of the best apps ever!. This is one of the best apps I’ve ever used. I really like how it has both the tuning part of the app AND also the part where it tells/teaches you how to play different chords on the guitar. I’ve literally tried almost every single app out there and I have yet to find any apps that are like this one. PLUS it ALSO kinda lets you do all different kinds of stuff on this app as well! 😲 Thank you so much for creating this app! It has REALLY been useful for me for when I am tuning up my guitar AND trying to learn how to play different chords on the guitar as well! 🎸 😊 😃 Once again... thank you GuitarTuna for creating this app! ☺️

Amazing!. I use it everyday day when I play my ukulele and I don’t have anything special or pay anything since I am underage and don’t have that option but without even paying it’s amazing! I use it for tuning my instrument and it work very good and is accurate. Also, I literally use it for like 1 minute only but I’ve been using it for 2 years now :D It has different options of instruments to choose to tune for to! I really love this app, thank you for everything it just one of those things that makes your life a little better :)

Great app!!. I started out using this app just for the free tuner. I've since purchased the in app learning tools as well. I've been playing for about 4 years but could never remember the chord names and didn't know some of less frequently used chords. The in app purchase learning tools are helping me to learn new chords and remember their names! I was also very happy that the in app purchase I made on my iPhone was available for free on my iPad (as it should be). My only complaint: I wish there were a way to sync my learning progress and scores between the iPhone and iPad.

Easy to use. Guitar tuna is Very simple and accurate guitar tuning app with my other features that are quite useful. The chord charts for songs and the way it scrolls through the chords and lyrics make it easy to learn new songs. I used the app last night at an open mic on a guitar with 20 year old strings and it still was super accurate and easy to see on the stage. It was better than the snark headstock tuner I attempted to use that first . All in all I would highly recommend guitar tuna to anyone playing a stringed instrument.

Good Tuner Horrible Ads and Popups. The tuner does work quite well and allows you to save different tunings. The tuner appears very accurate. BUT the ads are too much! A few years ago I would have recommended this app. Now it got to the point where they slowly added so many popups and ads for their other products and services (that you have no way to avoid) that it made me buy a physical tuner instead of using this app. For example, you get an ad when the app is opened and you get an ad when all your string are in tune, even if you’re still in the process of tuning. And I payed for this app! It feels like this app only exists to bait you into using their other services like Yousician.

Good for all strings but E. I use this weekly to tune my Ibanez GRX20, and sometimes my acoustic if I need it. In order for the music I'm playing so sound good, my guitar must be in tune perfectly. This app has done that, but left my E string out of tune and sounding horrible. The app itself just gives up on trying to tell how sharp or flat the E is, and frequently the pitch of the note would be seen wobbling tremendously on the tune diagram. Sometimes when I first play I get a "-4335" being flat, then it just randomly thins out to near in tune. Then it strikes up to "+335" being sharp. The accuracy for the E string is crap. As for the other notes, when I tune them the diagram centers them, and I get a green "+0" indicator in the middle of the in tune line. Absolutely perfect. That's for all the other notes except E. For E, if I get it somewhat in tune, the indicator with the + and - number dances between numbers below ten, both sharp and flat. The app itself can't perfectly tune my E, but it just aggravates me that a world renowned app known for guitar tuning can't properly tune one note. I guess the app is just really sensitive to the E string.

Great App, having trouble restoring old purchases. Been using app for about a year or so. My go-to tuner for guitar tunings. However, I have a slight problem with restoring my guitar tuning options. I recently had to change phones because old phone was badly damaged and I have most guitar tunings unlocked on that version of the app (previous phone). I see now that I have to subscribe in order to unlock the tunings rather than simply being able to buy the ones you need? Is that the reason I cannot access the previous library of tunes I purchased a while back? Please help. I like this app a lot as it provides super accurate tuning.

Easiest best guitar tuner. I was moving and was going to get rid of my guitar since I never learned to play it and decided to keep it and learn. I had an old electric tuner that needed new batteries so I downloaded this app. People had messed with my guitar over the years while it just sat in a corner and so it was way out of tune. With this app I was able to get it back in tune in less than a minute (first time using the app). So, needless to say, this app is extremely easy to use and very accurate as well. Big thx to whoever made it. I have been playing for about three weeks now and am progressing quickly thx to this guitar tuner.

Great tuner. This tuner is quick and easy to use. It has both visual and audible cues to let you know when your string is perfectly in tune. With the free version, you can select from different tunings: guitar, bass, ukulele and cavaquinho. It includes a metronome with many different counts (4/4, 5/4, 7/4, etc), and a chord library. There are also some games, but I haven’t played any of them. You will need to upgrade (pay $) to get alternative/ custom tunings. With the upgrade you get tunings for guitar, bass, ukulele and cavaquinho, as well as 7 and 12 string guitar, 5 string bass, violin family and folk instruments. I only have the free version so I can’t review the upgrade.

Kids love this app. Update: sometimes it just goes blank, no reference as to how off you are on tuning a particular string. It just couldn't hear the "G" on one of the guitars. Downloaded another app and tuned that one last string in 5 seconds. Intuitive app, was able to tune the guitar in 5 min on our first time trying it out. So far didn't see any annoying ads or payment pushing. Just used it with a 7 yr old who enjoyed tuning his guitar! Normally guitar practice is a chore, but this app added some excitement to the mix. To use, tap on what string you are to tune, then start tapping the string with right hand while the left is tightening/loosening. Easy to see if you are getting closer. Once the string is tuned a pleasant sound rings (that's a smile right there). To improve, I would recommend a sound or a voice notification when you need to go higher or lower. Or a bright beaming light, or arrow that points where you need to go. The text notifications are helpful, but not as attractive as the rest of the app. Keep up the great work!

I love this app!! But I would love it more if this option was added. Personally I love this app, it makes it super easy to tune any string instrument and if you watch an ad you can learn to play any song of your choice which is amazing!! ( if the song is on there) My one recommendation would be to put an option for ukulele chords on the song options menu instead of just the guitar chords. This would be a game changer for me personally because I use this app to learn songs on the guitar all the time. Since there isn’t really an app I can use (without paying) to play/ learn ukulele chords except for looking it up on the internet which is totally fine but I definitely think it would be something to think about!! If this is added I would totally give the app 5 stars without a question. I’ve had this app for years and it’s the best tuner app ever!! I definitely recommend to anyone and everyone! But this added option would be life changing!! Thanks for listening!! ❤️

Decent App Review. I generally like the app. However, I personally don’t like things that get you to a certain point and then ask for you to upgrade. I understand why and I’m sure it’s been market tested on when to hook someone enough to ask for the money for the upgrade. It’s essentially an apps version of the sales close. I think it’d be more professional to state up front very plainly exactly what’s in free Version and what you get with the upgrade. And why not offer a free 7 day trial with legitimately no obligation. If your app really is that good then that’d be how you hook someone

This is Absolutely GREAT!! Totally recommend!!. So, I just started playing the ukalele and this app has really helped me tune my ukalele without being OVERLY confused. I love this app so much because It also helps me learn my cords. This app is very useful and helpful ! Totally recommend this app for any type of guitar/ ukalele, etc. players and even beginners like me! This app also tells me some awesome songs that I can play and rock! There is also learn cord games which is VERY fun and little do you know is helping you learn your instruments cords! LOVE THIS APP!! Like I said TOTALLY RECOMMEND for anyone trying to play the guitar, ukalele, etc. Thanks! And that is a wrap on why I gave this app a 5 star rating !!!

Efficient. It's a music tuning app, so there will be pros and cons. The fact that we do not have to go out and purchase a decent tuner should make us all happy. Like anything else, it can mess up. These are minor, like when the microphone struggles with picking up the sound waves, it will tweak out sometimes. Oh and the pop up that asks users to rate the app.. so I finally did it. Though, I'm sure it will keep popping up every now and then. Other than that, I use it just about every day. I've tried some other tuning apps, but i prefer the dark theme of GuitarTuna! And it's set up nicely, easy to see and auto tune.

Best tuner I’ve had so far!!!!. I’ve been playing the ukulele for 3 years now and I’ve just started playing the guitar and I’ve always found tuning a problem with the tuners that came with the instrument because they would always read the wrong string and say one string was a different string but with this app I was able to tune my instruments perfectly and made my instruments sound wonderful!! Highly recommend for beginners at string instruments and even for professionals, it just makes tuning your instrument so much easier!!

Can’t just view frequency any more. I’ve been using this to tune various non-standard instruments based on frequency and never had a problem until today. It keeps bringing me to the store page for some reason and it’s incredibly frustrating. Before, all I needed to do was open the app and it wouldn’t be associated with an instrument, it just measured the frequency and told me if the pitch value was correct. This is literally all I want, and I can’t find this anymore. I’ve restored purchases and all that. If this used to be something that was removed and is now a paid in-app purchase or a subscription, I’ll just ditch this and use something else, which I hope isn’t the case as I’ve used this app for years. Its a dirty practice to remove features that were included for however long then ask for more money to get them back.

Amazing App. I’ve been playing guitar for almost half a year and I can’t explain how helpful this app is. Its multitude of settings, tools, games, and songs makes this app great. The metronome has come in handy many times with slowing down a song and increasing the bpm every time I feel comfortable with it. I would 100% recommend this app to people looking to start using guitar because of its accessibility and usefulness for free, and I would recommend it for more advanced players if you’re willing to pay a dollar or two for better settings. Amazing App.

Best tuner app. I used GuitarTuna years ago when I played a lot of guitar and always loved it. Then life happened and I lost the desire to create anything for about 6-7 years. Anyhoo fast forward to now when I’m picking music back up along with a ukulele AND guitar and I downloaded a couple of other tuner apps. None of them compared really to this one. It’s accurate, easy to use and easy to figure out. But it’s not because it’s just a basic tuner. It has a lot of cool features that I unfortunately can’t afford to pay for right now. But if I could I surely would. I will not be deleting this app again from my phone lol.

A Breeze. I am a total newbie to the stringed instrument clan. I got a ukulele, and am taking my lessons pretty seriously, and I simply must have a tuned uke. I know you can easily buy a tuner to put on the instrument and it’s less than paying each month, but I like using the app. I tune before every session and if it’s a long sesh, I may tune again. I can hear it in my ear from years of vocal training, and Tuna helps me get that string right on pitch very easily, even fine-tuning it. No pun intended. Plus it’s right there on my phone, no searching my bag or fidgeting with another device. Quick, easy, works every time.

Best app ever. OK so first of all, it asks you what instrument you’re tuning so like it’s not just a guitar it can be a violin, a viola, a bass, a cello. This app is so helpful and I can’t tune by ear from my violin so this app helps a lot. It also has songs that give you chords but I’ve only found out how to make it guitar. I can’t figure out how to play the songs with a violin. It also counts the best for you. (forgot the name) 10/10 and its free (the subscription gets u premium) but the free stuff works just as well as premium. Same things for free are premium I think.

Best tuning app so far. This is my go-to tuner any time. It's not only the most easy to use and accurate tuner, it also has a lot of awesome features I love. I teach guitar and I tell all my students to download this app because of it's other awesome features - The chord library is very helpful for anyone who needs a quick reference guide and the color scheme makes it user friendly for people of all ages. The games are a fun way for people to learn and self-teach themselves technique while making it fun. The included metronome is a great perk and it's easy to use and adjust. Great job creating this app!

It’s a great classic, but new addition really detracts. I’ve always used this all for tuning. Really solid and accurate. Their paid portion is cool and can really help those learning. How ever, some functions have made this app really insufferable and sent me searching for another… the opening premium ad. It’s not even a simple X to close, but requires going through the two screens first — after loading mind you — then you can finally tune. Once you tune through the strings, it brings up a pretty annoying (not as much as the opening ad) play-along. I think I’ll be looking for a basic, free tuner or switching to hardware as sometimes I need a 30-second tune-up. Not an interactive, multi-step process.

New update lags behind. I've used this app for several months now, and it's been great so far. Great as a chord reference guide, great for its primary tuning capabilities. No complaints prior to the most recent update. However, as of this update made available several days ago, I have noticed that the swiping mechanism within the app seems delayed. It doesn't feel as responsive as it was before, and there is a lag once you swipe until the panel stops moving. This is a nuisance, requiring multiple attempts to do something that once required one smooth swipe across the screen. Moreover, the chord diagrams seem significantly smaller (although with higher resolutions) than before, making them less impactful than before. It would be great if these issues could be resolved, as I love using this app and will continue to use this app in spite of the minor inconveniences sourced from this update. Also, it would be cool if guitar scales were also available within the app, I would find it super helpful in my quest towards guitar proficiency. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see these changes made soon!

Understandable and Appealing Interface. This guitar tuner is very accurate let alone beautiful, the animations make it seem like the sound is coming to life. I have been a loyal customer to yousician for about three years and i wouldn't have it any other way. I do have to offer some constructive criticism. The buttons and interface when it comes to switching out from a standard tune to a tuning of A gets bit confusing and they should make it more straight forward instead of making it feel a bit like a maze and in no way should tuning a instrument to cost money...Other then that i love to vibe of the app!

A Surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one. This is no standard tuner; I used it for about 4 years as nothing but the occasional tune up. Completely by accident I hit a different tab and WOW I could play dozens of my favorite songs. How had I gone this long without realizing? It’s relit my love for guitar, and ever since I figured this out (about a month ago) I’ve been playing almost daily and my calluses are back! You only have to watch a 30 second ad to access 2 songs (or pay per month), but it’s totally worth it. I highly recommend.

Need update. I pay for the full version and use the app to practice chords. The play chords from memory option is great, however after it shows you the chord diagram it doesn’t go away or even change to the next chord. So if I take too long on the F chord for example it will show the F chord diagram, and then continue showing the F chord diagram even when it’s asking for the next chord. Also I don’t see the need for the delayed transition between the chords either. As soon as I play the chord it should pop up with the next chord instead of the flip out/flip in transition it displays. It seems that when I’m practicing quick chord changes it’s the app that restricts my speed more than my own abilities. Just unnecessary.

Best tuner ever!. That might be a slightly bias statement but it's from someone who has had GuitarTuna for close to I wanna say 3 maybe 4 years. My point is that in all this time as long as I had my phone with me, any guitar was gonna be in tune. And I haven't dabbled much outside of standard tuning but with the ease of user interaction I'm sure all of them are worth it. I recommend this app to every guitar player I know and now I'm finally taking a moment to recommend this app to all of you whom I don't know. Look no further, this is the app you need to keep your strings singing in harmony 👍🏼 And finally, just a big Thank You to GuitarTuna for existing! MVA! (Most Valuable App) lol

Lifesaver. I’m a bassist in band at school, so this is great to use and it’s very fast and efficient . I’m glad I can have a tuner on hand. Currently, I’m trying to learn ukulele at home and I just discovered I can learn the chords when I press on tools. That’s great, and not what I expected from a tuner. While it’s usually all jazz (see what I did there 😝 hehe) sometimes the tuner goes haywire. It can say -157 or some crazy number and then later on be +2. But it rarely gives me a hard time so I’ll let it slide. Great app, and worth getting. I’d recommend it.

Very reliable tuner. This is a great app! Very easy to use and very reliable, if you are just starting out, you can take a big worry off your mind, by getting in tune quickly and easily with this app. You will enjoy your guitar playing more if you are playing in tune, and you will be much more likely to stick with it. Very important! This is one case where the technology improves things in a significant way. I also have friends who play guitar professionally, and use this app right before a gig! Highly recommended!

This app is awesome. I got a guitar a year ago and in the beginning I always had to have someone tune my guitar for me but my guitar instructor told me about this app and now I can tune my guitar myself. My only complaint that needs to be fixed is that I tried tuning my brothers guitar and it was so out of tune my tuner couldn’t tune it, it basically broke my tuner and I’ve tried everything but it still has the little loading symbol in the middle every time I try to use it. But other than that really good and helpful app😊😊😊😊

An amazing app. Definitely more than just a tuner!. GuitarTuna features tuning for all strings (guitar 4 and 6 string, ukuleles ,etc.) a metronome at so many different speeds, and the words, chords and notes to all your favorite songs! I am so happy to have this app. Not only does it help me to tune my guitar and ukulele, it helps me learn to play songs when I am not at lessons. Say, if I was learning a song, and wanted to take a break from it, I could just use GuitarTuna to learn something new. I have learned so many song from the app. And a big thanks to GuitarTuna!

Great app, one recommendation. I love the app it’s perfect for tuning my electric and acoustic guitars, my bass, my ukulele One thing I would say is add other tunings such as drop D, flat tuning, etc. For free as well I can usually figure it out by ear after a bit however it would make my life 10 times easier if I could use it without paying lol. Now I know they you gotta make money somehow but it would be great if you could just make a couple more common ones such as Drop D tuning available for poor people like me. Other than me not wanting to pay money, love the app 5/5 stars

Recommended. As a guitarist, I sometimes have trouble tuning some strings to any note after playing around with my guitar. I also have trouble practicing songs, since the internet has a lot of errors with chords, which is why I use GuitarTuna. They have tunings for many different string instruments, a chord library, chord lesson games, and a library of songs to practice- with songs being added every day! I really recommend this app for guitarists, since it also saves plenty of phone space!

Custom tuning limit?. Why are custom tunings limited to three? This is absurd. Given the storage capabilities of the device, and the fact this app is just reading saved data,I should be able to create, store, and read as many custom tunings as I want. Yet, it is limited to three. This is where I have to question the knowledge about guitars by the app creators. There are more than just three custom tunings available to the instrument, ya know? Great app otherwise, but even after having this app for YEARS, this silly limitation has never been addressed. Hence my 2 star rating. Address this please. It is beyond silly! Take it from me; also an app developer. There is very little in the way of a technical limitation that justifies this very poor design decision.

Subscription based model. The first guitar tuning app I ever downloaded was when my physical tuner I keep in my case ram out of battery. That app then set up a paywall, and that’s when I downloaded GuitarTuna. Now, GuitarTuna takes it to the next level by setting up a subscription based paywall. I’m not going to pay $10 a month for the convenience of tuning my guitar with my phone. Guess what doesn’t charge a monthly subscription fee… physical tuners. Looks like that’s what I’m going back to. Funny how that works, huh? (For the record, I’d pay for this app if it were a buy once thing. I find the subscription based model ludicrous for what this app offers. What will that get me? The ability to watch the next season of… standard tuning?)

Love this app and am so grateful!!. I'm teaching myself to play the guitar for which I am not a natural. Every step is a struggle. Tuning was one of the major struggles for me. Different techniques really didn't work very well. Neither did the little tuning box that I bought, although it helped. It was a little complicated to use and inconvenient. This app is so easy to use!!! There are probably knowledgeable people who would criticize a person for not knowing better or learning better. I'm doing the best I can so that I can enjoy the guitar. This tool has made my situation so much better! And I am grateful!!

Great app. I think this app is great for tuning your guitar especially if you’re a beginner and self taught I don’t play the guitar a lot but when I do I don’t know how to tune my guitar and last time I tried I broke one of the strings witch made me scared of and caused me to put it down for a while but this app helped my tune my guitar and now I’m ready to start playing again. The guitar always sounds better when it is tuned so if you don’t know how to or your scared to tune your guitar you should definitely download this app!!

Caught on in 5 minutes!. I don’t usually right reviews, but this app is outstanding to say the least. It gives you a very accurate view of your strings and it lets you go on “manual mode” so that you can choose which one you want to practice on. With this app, I’m sounding better than ever! It even gives you games and songs to work on and keep you busy. If your thinking about taking up guitar for a hobby or even professionally, this is the app for you! It also gives you SO many other options for other things like the guitar, like the ukulele, bass, violin, things like that. I totally recommend this app.

Teacher approved. As I teach music lessons, I’m always looking for new tools to make my and my students’ job easier. This app certainly fits the bill. I love that it automatically switches strings so you can use the app hands-free. I love that you can see which tuning peg goes with the string you’re tuning (as long as it’s close enough to the note it’s supposed to be). If it’s way off, you can tap the peg and it will play the corresponding pitch for that string so you know to tune up or down. Very visual and intuitive. It has a tap tempo metronome too! That is a HUGE plus as I teach students how to play with a metronome, because they can tap the tempo they are currently comfortably playing at and it takes out the guesswork. I could go on, as I just recently discovered the chords section (very helpful when we are switching to ukulele and I need to remind myself the difference). Oh and did I mention they have more than just standard tuning? Yep, they have a visual ukulele tuner too! Fantastic.
