Can’t open the issue I just bought?. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before I purchased an issue. I purchased for $4.99 and then it appeared it was downloading but I can’t open it or read it? Am I doing something wrong or is it because the app is horrible?

Do Not Purchase.... This is crap. I have not received my January issue to download. I have been getting the run around about who is responsible for this but no answers and no January issue. Even then my December issue, the first 15 pages were all advertisement. I would not recommend this magazine to anyone and am very disappointed.

Waste of time and money. I agree with previous reviews; this app has serious issues. I paid for both print and digital but it won't let me access the digital. Wasted a lot of time on this and I have just given up. Tried all of the suggestions from customer support and none of them work.

Update!. So I did the latest update, now I just owe for some of the magazines...what a joke Bring back the old format! Did the update and now it tells me I owe for each magazine or buy a subscription, which I already have!! No one responded to my email and no phone number. I'm done! Just cancelled!

Love it when it works. This is the third time I have received a new digital issue and it won’t scroll past the cover, I have to delete the app, reload and pray it works, I will probably cancel my subscription if they don’t fix the issue.

Can you give less than 0?. If you’re going to charge people for a electronic version of your magazine perhaps you should h@vecan app that works. I want a refund as I your app will not let you view the magazine. HORRIBLE

Terrible app. Another poorly working food magazine app. Pages take forever to load and scrolling is difficult. I will be making an attempt to cancel my subscription.

Terrible changes. The app has changed so much over the years. I am not able to even use it anymore and i have just renewed recently and I have an iPad Pro. Ridiculous. Repeatedly locked out on my iPad.

Ongoing issues. As others have stated, with the latest update I lost my subscription and previous issues. However this is the 4th time this has happened. After 3 weeks customer service agreed to convert back to print version. Still previous versions are lost. I won't be renewing print or digital versions.

Very poor app. After my digital subscription expires, I will not renew. After the app changed a few years ago, it has been nothing but one problem after another. Very disappointing.

Newest version works! And customer service was very helpful. After a few days of communication with customer service, my subscription has been restored and I was even given a few other issues a no charge. Thank you! Update! The new update is AWFUL! I've lost my subscription. Fix this now! I'm only allowed to view issues I've already purchased as a "free" 5 minute preview. I will not renew when it's time. I'm not thrilled. I can't get it to work on my iPad. I've done everything the app tells you to do and it's still not working. I called customer service, the guy was nice but couldn't figure it out so in 1-2 days I'll hear from a manager.

Navigation is a challenge. I have found that navigation of each issue is as confounding as any website I have used. Absolutely love the content, but after blundering my way through a single issue and a search for just two recipes that I saw on the cover, the magazine is either dedicated to misleading customers or guiding them to some kind of advertisement, or they simply haven’t managed to find a cogent process for guiding customers to the content. Again, great material, just poor or misguided execution.

I love these magazines....... The content is always different colorful and informative. When I have to entertain quests, this is my go to source..

Jan 2018 issue. Yeah, so where’s our January 2018 issue? It’s already 01/08 and still nothing! Agreed with previous reviews about the app update being garbage. I actually thought it might be my iPhone or iPad that was acting up but glad to know it was the shoddy tech. Mostly...WHERE THE HELL IS MY JANUARY ISSUE? 02/18: So, just downloaded March’s issue and I can’t read it because I can’t turn the page. I try to swipe left and it just brings me right back to the cover page.

Awful. I just signed up for subscription, unable to sign in. Would like hard copy, no phone number to call someone!

Messed up again. Like the other MAZ powered apps, can’t get past the cover on previous purchases that need to be downloaded again. In addition, I hate the top and bottom banding which removes a full inch of actual content. Hearst Magazines better get on these problems or they are going to lose a lot of subscribers. I’m tired of having issues ever time iOS is updated.

Useless. Each page downloads individually? Are we being watched as we read? And the borders across the top? Why? I move them out of the way and they come right back. A five-year-old could have designed this better. No offense to five-year-olds.

Magazine. I bought digital subscription it did not allow me to use my own password prompted me to use the one indicated so screen shot the password to use it to login. When I try to login after it has said thank you for purchase, it now indicates incorrect password or Email. From what I also see to support to fix this so I feel I’ve been jacked my money. Would like to use what I paid for.

My subscription is gone!. Update deleted my account. Like other reviewers the magazines have a price on them. When I try to log in it says wrong email or password. When I try to reset the password it says that I don't have a subscription with that email. The app needs to be fixed!

Not a good format. I have not liked the digital version of this magazine for a while. I find the pull down format cumbersome. I liked feeling like I was leafing through pages. Also the overlay doesn’t go away and takes away from my enjoyment.

I have the print version. But your “info page” doesn’t really say whether the online version is accessible with a paid print sub. I’m to believe it doesn’t but... would like to know for SURE if that is a perk or not. Secondly, looks like you have MAJOR issues with accessing the content anyway, therefore, I wouldn’t spend any extra money in getting it. If I thought I DID have an online account and tried logging in... the site does not have a forgot password link. Very strange setup for sure. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT... and I haven’t even accessed any content. SMH

Zero stars. I have subscribed digitally for a few years. Loved the old app and ease of use. The update has made it Impossible to save favorites without wifi and Facebook. I read mostly without wifi and I don't Facebook.... Also can't figure out how to print just the recipes that I want. Too complicated and wifi connected, I would cancel my subscription if I hadn't paid for the year. Will not renew. I love food network magazine but I Hate this app

Food network magazine. I have been subscribing to the magazine since it started. I wait for each magazine and can’t wait to see what is new.

Zero Stars - App is Awful. I hope the Food Network app team are reading these reviews. One star ratings across-the-board is a very good indicator that your application is not working well. Ever since the application was "upgraded", it is basically been rendered useless. Most pages take minutes to load or don't load at all and what was once a very simple application to navigate is now cumbersome, unfriendly, and the changes were pointless. It is now January 1, and the January issue is not even available to download -- not that it really matters because I would only be able to read about 70% of it. I am just cancel my subscription as of today and will not be renewing online. Fix the issues now or you are going to continue to lose your subscribers. You should also consider replacing your technical team and application developers.

Poor presentation. This magazine was so much better when it was presented as a magazine. Now it is hard to read and hard to navigate through multiple and swingle issues.

No Access. I have been trying for months to get my online issues to no avail. I have a current subscription but it wants me to pay to get access.

Having trouble accessing my online subscription. Not sure of what I am doing wrong. I paid for online subscription I cannot access to read the magazine. I purchase as a fundraiser for Girl Scout. Now I wish I could have received the paper magazine kind.

WTH happened?. I just came back to the after about a year. Have to unlock an issue before you can leave a bookmark (how is that done, by the way?), no list of issues owned - have to scroll through everything to which ones say ‘available offline’. This makes it almost worth it taking up space on bookshelves or magazine racks & going back to the physical issues. Please fix the app & put it back the way it was. ETA: have no idea how to find the bookmarks on my older issues from before the update.

Love your show but…. It makes me a little crazy when people tried to put together gingerbread with royal icing. It will not work and they fall apart. I have made many of them and if you take one cup of sugar melted in a shallow pan you can stick your edges of your gingerbread house the corners of it in this melted sugar stick them together and the gingerbread will break before the edges. This is so fast to do this and then you can decorate it with royal icing without it falling apart. Just saying try it

Subscription. I have subscribed for years but decided not to renew, I went to look back on the issues I had archived and PAID for only to see I am now locked out and being asked to pay for AGAIN! I tried to restore issues, it said successful but still locked out of archive.. would like an explanation why this is happening, I tried to get APP Support but the link is not working… this is ridiculous and not fair to a loyal customer.

Hate the update!. I've been a digital subscriber for more than two years. The latest update is hard to navigate, can't easily read and save recipes, moving around is not intuitive. Why oh why do the developer trolls feel the need to fix what isn't broken!? Fix it back!!!

Problem with previously paid issues. I have used the Food Network digital magazine for over a year and after the latest updates I now have to pay for my previously paid subscription. There are recipes from the previous issues that I liked and wanted to keep. I called customer service and was told that those issues are expired and will have to pay to access them again. What’s the point of paying for digital if you can’t access it? I’m going back to print for this magazine.

Terrible! Total waste of Money!. After several days of back and forth emails with them, this app is a disaster and still doesn’t work. Supposedly subscribed, the app still won’t let me access content. It gives me 4 minutes to look at content and wants me to purchase, at $4.99 a pop, each issue. I’m done. I want my money back.

negative 5 stars. i’ve been a faithful digital subscriber for what seems like forever.....but i’m beginning to think my loyalty will s misplaced.....i have been trying unsuccessfully to view any of the new issues for 2018 to no avail......not sure what happened with the latest update.....but whatever it is.....please please please fix it.....otherwise i will be forced to cancel my my subscription and request a refund (my subscription auto renews in september 2018).....i shouldn’t have to pay for issues i can’t access....

Had a yearly subscription but don’t have my magazines. I had bought a years worth of the magazines, lost my internet at one point so I didn’t renew and now all the magazines that I bought are gone! I can’t believe it. So upset with this all.

Loving mag and shows. Great mag. Love it, love food in it and love foodnetwork. Bring back farmgirl. Can’t think of the name right now but she did great recipes. Fran

Worst Magazine App. I’ve paid for the digital subscription but after every app update any previous downloads are wiped out. Then you can’t log back in to redownload or access new editions. Have had to contact support three times already. And their response is poor at best. Make you feel like you shouldn’t ask for what you’ve paid for.

Doesn’t work favorite. I had a subscription digitally, I tried the new app but I can’t save my favorites receipts as always did. So what’s happening....please I need a solution. Regarding printing is impossible.

Go back to old layout. I don't like the new layout. It's like a bunch of websites now. Pages load very slow and I really dislike all the scrolling as it's very clumsy. I won't be renewing my subscription.

Horrible. I’ve been a subscriber for years, now I can’t even scroll past the cover. It just stays stuck there. Will be canceling my subscription since the devs are aware of the issue and don’t even care to fix it

Upgrade deleted my digital subscription. With the latest app upgrade I lost access to previous digital editions that were included with my subscription. I have subscribed to both print and digital versions unlike what is noted within the app. I now have to pay to unlock previous editions. Not cool. Please fix.

Always helps with ideas. This magazine always gives me ideas of new things to try. It covers all types of foods and easy to follow recipes.

Don’t bother. The app would not accept my my password, then when I tried to change my password using the “forgot password”, it didn’t send me the link to change it. After three tries, I gave up and canceled my subscription. Hopefully, it DID cancel my subscription. I’ve seen better apps written by high school students.

Horrible. After updating I can’t view a single page! I tried to troubleshoot but was told I needed an active subscription. I do have an active subscription. Tried to re-login but forgot my password and there is no option to retrieve or reset it. Cancelling. Horrible app!

What’s going on with this app?. I’ve been trying to unlock the November issue and it’s not working. Every other issue is available, but not the Thanksgiving issue, a week before Thanksgiving. Bad timing...

Best 4.99 spent. Got the magazine while waiting at Les Schwab for a tire repair! Best 4.99 spent plus got good dinner ideas!!

HORRIBLE UPDATE!. It doesn't work well on any of my mobile devices! The border on top and bottom is useless and detracting. I am also not able to view more than 2 pages in a row. I have numerous friends with same issues and unless this is fixed by next edition we will all be cancelling subscriptions and NOT buying print edition. If I could give zero stars I would.

What?. All my downloaded issues are now needing to be paid for again?? What happened to free digital with subscription? Not much point in having the app anymore

Stop! Don't download!. Unable to log on at all. You will lose any previously purchased magazines even with an e account. They want you to pay in order to access them. I wish I could give no stars as a rating.

Worst App Ever!!. I was a digital subscriber for the last two years and the app used to work great then there was a big redesign and after that every time I tried to read an issue it would either freeze every third page (then I had to close and restart the app, until three pages later and then do it all over again) or today the app would randomly crash and by the time I got back to where I was in the issue it would crash again. I cancelled my digital subscription and got a paper subscription. I am annoyed that I have two years of magazines on my iPad that I can't access because of the app. What a waste of money.

Great App. Recipes are good and I like the fact I can purchase an issue for my iPad any time I want. Very handy.

Disappointing. As commented by Jana, I have been looking at the December issue on the newsstand for over a week and it is still not available for download. By the time the magazine is on my iPad, There will be no point as my Christmas baking will be done. Each month seems to get worse. Wish I had kept my print edition. Very disappointed.

Excellent!. I loved the print version of this mag, and absolutely love the digital one. I'm constantly looking at the currently and past issues. Just love it!

Lost previous subscription issues. Recently they lost all my issues prior to Dec 2012, about 6, and their clueless support cannot even fix it. Restore purchases does not work. Beware, this app is half-assed and they will lose your purchase history and there is no way to fix it if this happens.

One of the worst. This has to be one of the worst mag apps ever. Never recognizes my subscription, constantly trying to download my monthly issues and I'm being asked to purchase again. Writing this review because this happens every month and i have to send emails to Hearst. Problem still not resolved. So disappointing. Get it together guys.

Garbage app. Couldn’t even find a simple recipe. Just pay subscriptions for other magazines. Don’t waste your time!

Great issue. Now pancakes on Sunday will be a whisk....

Zinio is better. I should have re subscribed on zinio. This app doesn't have a bookmark function. It's a food magazine and I want to be able to bookmark so I can refer it to it later. And it takes so long to download and it kept crashing so I had to re download. Annoying! I would really appreciate it these can be fixed. If not, I will not be continuing the subscription.

Needs some work. Older version was better. I loved the older version of this app. Was able to read the magazine in an ipad & an iphone without issue. Now after the update the magazine pages too big for the screen on both devices. Tried it on my phone and cant change pages! Please revert to the old version!!!

Poor Layout. I used to get my subscription in Zinio, which had page layouts like they would be if reading a physical copy. This app has you scroll right to left for pages, in the same manner but then up and down if a page contains an article. Frustrating enough to make me want to cancel subscription. I didn't subscribe to a website, I subscribed to a "magazine." So disappointing. Can't even view in landscape. Update: now I can’t even get the pages to flip. Why is Food Network not using a magazine platform like every other magazine? So many issues and bugs with this app. I would cancel altogether if other members of my household didn’t read the physical copy (I prefer to read mags on iPad)

Disappointed. I was so excited when I order my subscription to the magazine over 2 years ago. I read it every month numerous time. I am so disappointed however that I cannot sync my paper subscription with the online app. So many other magazines allow this and it's wonderful. I wish I could switch over my subscription to the online magazine, but it won't let me do that either.

Can't sort by recipe. Love the magazine. But every time I want to sort by recipe, the app SHUTS down :(. Major glitch Because of that, I can't see which ingredient goes with which recipe.

Why do I have to pay $$ for recipes on app. I’ll go to the website instead

Foodnet work app. Hate it so slow loading always say sorry it is taking longer than expected and every month I have to reset doesn't auto load new issues I had last year gone thru Zino and it is much more faster now I regret taking a full year subscription since I am only into month two .....

Scam.. Not free. Don't bother installing!

Renewed subscription not recognized- updated Feb 22 2017. Update Dec 2017 Finally got things worked out and have been enjoying the magazine but just this morning I went to open up my Dec issue( which I already paid for and downloaded on my iPad) and it totally disappeared before my eyes 😳. WhT is going on? It reverted back to the Thanksgiving issue??????? The Dec issue isn’t even visible Please fix 😬 Here's an updated review- still can't get my issues downloaded. Hearst customer service is useless. Emailed several times and have been told that it is Apples issues not theirs. I sent proof of payment still not their issue. They are not sympathetic at all. It is your App so how can it be apples issue???? Buyer beware 😬 I have been an iPad subscriber for a couple of years now and love it however my frustration is building now as I am unable to access my renewed subscription. It's been 2 weeks. I have contacted Hearst Communication via e-mail however their correspondence has been less than useful. I am hoping to gain access to my renewed subscription ( Dec issue) before the holidays are over 😳. Totally frustrated and currently missing out on the holiday issue 😩🎄

My "go to magazine" for recipe ideas. Every recipe I have used so far has been a hit!! Thank you.

Love this app. I love the Food Network. The magazine is full of great recipes and new ideas! I wish there was a way to bookmark or archive favourite recipes. All my magazines are dog eared or marked for my favourites.

Love it. Full of great ideas for everyday and special occasions! Thanks gang

Very handy. Very handy version, and saving trees. I would subscribe to all my magazines this way from now on

Decue.

Going Woke!. I generally enjoy the magazine and have had a subscription for a few years. Lately, I’ve noticed the nuances of “woke-ness” where the magazine tries to inject mainstream narratives about “eating sustainably and without meat”. This demonstrates the lack of values and backbone of those working at this publication because they bend and sway to whatever the “in thing” is. If you don’t stand for anything, you fall for everything - and this magazine is on the decline.

Great magazine.. I had some issues restoring my old issues and downloading the newest one, but finally realized the problem was that one of my general settings was conflicting with the app. I think there could still use a little improvement but overall I think it's great!

Needs Retina Support. Love the magazine, but hard to read on new iPad.

Can’t turn pages on iPad Air. Pages refuse to turn on iPad Air

Annoyed. I have a paper subscription to this magazine which I absolutely love. Why is it that if you are a current subscriber you can't just put in your address and get this app free on your iPad like so many other magazines!? Have to say very disappointed!!

frustrating. slow to swipe. very difficult to leave where you are and find your way back . there is no scroll bar at the bottom and no page numbers . will not be renewing

Lost my Paid issues!. I am extremely annoyed that I cannot access my previously paid-for issues. All that shows are "Buy" buttons. Customer support said "Thanks for your patience -we know about the problem and are working on it", then they issued an update that was supposed it fix it but still cannot access paid issues.

Love it. Love it

Always issues. Every time I download another magazine I am surprised by more problems. Screen is black, or unzipping for ever or it crashes. Would much rather buy the hard copy for a little more money.

Awesome. I loved receiving this magazine every month, but what to do after your done with it? Now it's digital and I think that is absolutely wonderful!

Food Network Mag. I am frustrated that there is no way to bookmark or store recipes that you want to try in the future or mark favorites so you can retrieve the recipe easily. I would also like to be able to print recipes so I can enlarge the font to make it easier to refer to while cooking. I may return to the hard copy if these features can't be incorporated into the app. Love the magazine...not so much the app.

Print subscribers. When are they going to give print subscribers free access to the digital version? All the other magazines I subscribe to do this - I don't understand why food network has not done it. As if anyone is going to pay for it twice!

Subscription. I don’t like this app I have a hard time logging in to read my magazine there is no place to let me change my password that I forgot.

Seriously disappointed. I have already paid for a print subscription to this magazine but there is no way to link my subscription to this app. It is absolutely ridiculous that Food Network is trying to charge me full subscription price twice for the same magazine.

Free magazines. Make some magazines free because after your time limits up you don’t get to look through it unless you bye the magazine

When I open the January issue it crashes... Whenever I open new January issue it crashes! Please fix! Thank you.

AMAZNG!!!. This issue was so addictive I read it three times over and almost made all the recipes. Thank you Food Network❤️❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic !. Works well ! I'd really like to buy the march 2012 edition (the chocolate number). I missed it !

Unreliable. I have never been able to open the January issue. I am enjoying the latest issue but the app crashes frequently. Disappointing.

Nice but.... The magazine is nice, but the app dows't work properly. It skips pages, it lags and it is really slow.. Is it just me?!

Just LOVE It!. Great Chefs, Great Recipes and a easy to read format! What's not to love!!!

So no cool, Food Network.... I was so excited to see this app, thinking that I would be able to read my favourite magazine on my iPad when on the go. That excitement was short-lived when I realized that even though I have purchased a two year subscription to this magazine, I can't link my subscription to the app. You are way behind the times Food Network! Every other magazine does it! What are you thinking? Sadly, I'm thinking that you lack vision...

Might as well buy at the store. Have had nothing but issues with this app for a year now. Whether it is accessing back issues or getting new issues to download. Subscription hasn't worked properly since they "fixed" my back issue problem and I have to delete and reinstall each month to get the new issue. Customer service is a joke and keep giving the same fix which doesn't fix the issue. Going back to zinio when my subscription is up.

Don't Subscribe!. Updated and lost all previously purchased issued and my subscription not recognized. Emailed Hearst, was told they would get back to me after the holiday...thought they meant Thanksgiving not Christmas. Maybe they should just send me the paper version. (Rated a half star)

Rediculous. I've had a paper subscription for 2 years now, you'd think if you have a subscription already they wouldn't have you pay for the iPad version. Every other magazine gives you the iPad version when you've subscribed for the paper version. Seriously disappointed.

Lorna.. Would like to request if you have any desserts - no bake that have marshmallows in the desserts or microwave recipes that are 20 to 30 Minutes and stir fry recipes that are healthy.

Please fix. I recently subscribed and when I log in it says my subscription has expired and then it says subscription was successful. I go to the main page and I only get 5 minutes of free access after I’ve subscribed. Please fix

What a bust!. I bought an issue and came back to reference a recipe, only for it disappear off my iPad. There was a feature to click on if you were missing issues downloaded. I went to download and reinstall the issue and it didn't work. Tried it again and nothing. Needless to say, the multiple attempts at the downloads wasted a percentage of my Internet usage. End result: deleted the app. What a shame, because I love the food network magazine.

Food No-Work. Until now the app was okay. It was not as good as some other magazine apps, but it at least let me read the issue on the iPad. Unfortunately, the new Jan/Feb issue is saying I need to pay for it even though I have a one year subscription that is nowhere near expiring. Think contacting Hearst's digital help desk will help? Well, if it does, I have yet to see it - no response to say they even received my email about the issue. (No, no amount of restoring issues or re-downloading the app helps.). If they can't fix this within a timely manner (meaning by mid-month), I want my money back so I an go back to print.

So glad I subscribed. I just subscribed and love the magazine. I'm a new "foodie" and have fun learning more in the kitchen with this. I like being able to view recipes on the screen, create a shopping list, and bookmark pages. My only request right now would be to integrate this with the Kitchen app that has a recipe box from Food Network. Currently you have to bounce around and the apps don't work together for saving recipes. A bit difficult. Make it we can add recipes from the magazine to get our recipe box.

Can’t read at all. Pages won’t turn at all...

Unhappy that subscribers can't use this app to see their mag. Why can other less popular magazines allow subscribers to load their mags without having to pay a double subscription and FOOD Network Magazine doesn't? It's not fair to us to have to pay twice. Next time I may not renew my magazine. Maybe they want us to subscribe electronically and save them money and postage by not doing a paper subscription???? I wonder??? Only thing I can say is it leaves you with a bad feeling about them. No subscriber loyalty or consideration. As good as the magazine is, this is a real turn off!

Could've been a 5. First, I really wish the e-version was available for free to existing print subscribers. This magazine is awesome and I love it, but there is no way to save specific recipes. You can only add items to a shopping list but later after I buy those items, I'm going to have to open this issue and flip and search for the recipe...which is going to be a pain. Please create some sort of folder or favorites location where you can click on a recipe and save it. If this e-version had this option, I would definitely give it 5 stars. Third, it crashes pretty often. Can be a pain especially when you first download the issue. After I finally turned my iPad on and off a few times, it started working and I didn't have any more problems.

Food Network Mag is awesome!. I had this subscription since 2012. I absolutely love it on my iPad. I can get it on my iPhone but it's really hard for me to read on that. Not sure why anybody's rating this less than five stars. It's wonderfully simply to use. My recipes I can add both the recipes and the photo to my favorite file in a snap. Can pull up the magazines and quickly go to any section of the magazines.. Very easy to maneuver back-and-forth to recipes to my favorite file etc. page layout is great I can go from any page to any section and back again. I couldn't ask for anything more in this magazine and this app. I haven't had any problems with upgrades in my system or upgrades in the food app. This is 100 times easier than trying to read the actual magazine in my hand.

Worst magazine app. First, why are u asking me to pay for TWO subscriptions to have the print and iPad edition when every other magazine I read includes iPad access FREE?! Second, the app freezes and crashes every few minutes, forcing me to relaunch and find my page all over again. Third, the pages are incredibly difficult to "thumb" through with finger swipe. Every time I swipe the page, it thinks I'm clicking one of your 75 links on each page and makes me jump around the entire magazine! Very very frustrating... If your going to link every word and every picture to another page, then provide a way to easily and consistently turn the page without the magazine jumping u all over the p,ace. Overall I'm so sorely disappointed in this app. My family watches FN more than any other channel every day. We love the channel, unfortunately, we hate the app... Worst magazine and most frustrating... Ever.

New update terrible. The new update is awful. Slower and more ads. Change it back please.

What was I waiting for?. I've loved the magazine since inception but was reluctant to go digital. I'm so glad I crossed over!! I no longer have stacks of ripped out recipes in which I could never find what I was looking for. However, my mom is disappointed that she won't be getting my throw always. Sorry mom.

Subscription problems. I, too, bought a year subscription and each month I have to uninstall the app and reinstall the app in order to not have to pay again for my subscription. This is most annoying. I don't have any problem with my other iPad subscriptions. Unless this glitch is fixed, when my year is up, I probably won't renew. Too bad, because I really like the magazine.

Frustrated. I’ve subscribed for years, and really like the magazine... But I can’t even open new issues since the update. I’m going to have to cancel.

Issues locked. I would probably love the magazine, only I cannot open any issues. Customer service did little to help

Bland. Not What I expect from a HUGE company.. I wish the magazines loaded faster on my ipad mini. And that there was a 3D page turn effect when swiping through the magazine. And that's my major request, so get the animation and I won't care so much about the speed of opening a magazine.

Great content - Terrible tech. The content of each issue is great, and if you like FN you'll be a fan. BUT...the issues are nothing more than a PDF of the magazine. Zero features or multimedia of any kind! I'd gladly pay $5 for an issue with great interactive extras, OR I'd pay $0.99 for a plane PDF. But right now there's no reason for me to choose the paper mag over this app. The grocery list is a start, but how about a decent 'search' function? Maybe add a few videos from the hours of content you already have? Please, FN, look at what some other e-magazines (WIRED, EW) are doing. I happily pay to subscribe to these because of the price/feature value. Or cut your price to $0.99 per issue (I hope it's the former).

Very disappointed!!!!!!. I subscribed digitally from within the app back in January. I was able to download one issue but unable to download new issues. After several emails back-and-forth with FN support (and following their instructions) they tell me I need to contact Zinio. I get no response from them after three attempts. I go back to food network just asking for a refund and now I get no replies whatsoever. Almost 3 months later and still nothing for what I paid. Don't waste your money, you will get nothing for it. I've been a long time subscriber and I love the magazine, but it's very disappointing for a loyal reader to receive this severe lack of customer service.

The Food Magazine I've Been Waiting For. Having not been a print subscriber, yes I'm giving this digital magazine a good rating. I'm so glad they stopped rolling out a new app for every month. I've been looking for a while for a good recipe magazine and was leaning toward Food & Wine after seeing Top Chef, but when this app came out, I immediately jumped on. I do hope they bring an opportunity to buy older issues. I really want the one prior to this app coming out, namely the chocolate issue. There is one annoying "feature" when reading. The swiping mechanics need some tweaking. For instance, if you touch an article's title, you'll jump to that page. It doesn't matter if you just intended to swipe to the next page or not, you'll get launched to wherever you touched. So you have to be careful where you swipe. I'm sorry they don't seem to cut a break for print subscribers. Some companies offer it free, others at a reduced rate (there are costs involved in doing digital, after all). I do hope they'll help out their print subscribers. But as for the digital edition, great price and great resource.

Crashes every time. Each time I try to open the magazine the entire app crashes. It's very disappointing. and I think my subscription was automatically renewed, but It won't even stay open long enough for me to check my account. Very frustrating! Update:now I can see the 2 most recent issues, but I've been a subscriber for a year and cannot view past issues without repurchasing them. I've contacted customer service twice and they tell me to restore missing issues, which does nothing. This is frustrating. I won't be renewing the e-version of this magazine.

Just Greed. I was so excited to buy this app through my kid's school to help them raise money, then I found out corporate greed expects customers to pay twice for a single subscription. "FN" you might want to take a look at your competitors such as Food & Wine & Bon Appetite. A single subscription with their magazine includes print & iPad version. Your way is no different than walking through the check out stand & paying twice for the same magazine. Until you change your practice you've lost my business & obviously many others as well according to the other reviews posted.

Worthless!!. I'm a print subscriber!! Why should I have to buy this too? In the many years that I've subscribed to magazines, I've always been told that most of the cost is directly associated with the cost of postage, and printing! Neither of which are a factor with the digital subscription! I can understand the need to make a profit, but, at the expense of an existing customer? Print subscribers should get this as part of their payed subscription! Or, at least at a heavily discounted rate! I will not pay twice, and I will not pay for this again! I'm not going to be gouged like that! In fact, I choose not to business with a company that gouges their customers like this! I'm canceling my print subscription too!

1-yr Subscription. Paid until 12/21. Cans access magazine through login.

Awful app. Been a subscriber for years, app keeps getting worse and support is awful!

Can't see the whole page. I don't know what happened, but I'm no longer able to see the entire page; the cover or any other page. I'm driving myself crazy thinking it's me. I deleted the app and reinstalled and it's still playing hide and seek. Then I see it's not just me. Why Food Network? Why? Why change a good thing? I'm not getting what I paid for. I have buy the magazine in order to fully enjoy what it has to offer. Please fix his r I will be forced to cancel my subscription. 😠

Terrible. I do not write many reviews. That being said, this is probably the worst app that I have ever paid money for. I just cancelled my subscription and am very disappointed that The Food Network would allow this garbage to be associated with its good name. I keep getting a white screen and am unable to access the content that I have paid for. When I am able to access the content, the app is sluggish, un-responsive, and just not easy to read. I would give this app zero stars if it were allowed. Do not waste your money on this garbage!

I cant get this to open and it said it was free. I just ordered a subscription to the hard copy magazine in November and received December, but still haven't gotten January. Called the company and they asked for my email address and said give it til the 15th... ??? The January issue has been on newstands for WEEKS!!! OK.. so then I get an email that says this is free, so I downloaded it... I GUESS.... it downloaded but I cant even find it, and if I get charged for this after already paying for a subscription, I will NOT pay it and file a complaint through my provider.

Terrible App. I can’t even read any of the recent issues because the pages don’t TURN.

Bad reviewers. Note that none of these negative reviews actually review the e-magazine. They are all just upset that it isn't free. They are working on a discounted subscription for print subscribers. The truth is that this is a very worthwhile magazine, with well organized content and a great navigation. An excellent alternative if you want only an electronic magazine.

November 2014. Love this issue of food network magazine. I especially like the sugared ginger recipe. Compared to buying the sugared ginger which only comes with a few pieces, I can do a whole pound at once. So not only are there great recipes, but there are money saving recipes as well! Thank You Food Network magazine!!!

Horrible in all ways.... In addition to the other reviews about not having access if you already subscribe to the print version, this is very difficult to read. The app just puts the magazine pages as they are formatted on the iPad screen so you have to zoom in on every article to read it unlike other iPad magazines where the formatting is such that it's easier to read on an iPad. Additionally, given the nature of the magazine I would expect an "email recipe" and "print recipe" feature in the app which also does not exist so if you actually wanted to try one of these recipes it's only available to you in your iPad. Forever. Unless you write it down. Really? With today's technology this is as good as it gets? pathetic. I bought two issues and quickly decided they were a waste of money.

Won't download/won't restore. I had this app for some time and was using it fine until the last two months or so. It was having problems so I deleted it and went to reinstall it. I can barely get it to download (takes about 10 tries) and when I do it won't restore my issues. The circle goes around once or twice and then disappears. Have contacted Hearst and they suggested it was a problem with my iPad. Umm, I can't even download your app. I don't think this is my problem. Please fix ASAP cause right now I'm paying for a subscription I can't use.

WARNING - DO NOT BUY!. I have had this subscription for 2 years and have had nothing but problems for the last 9 months. After my renewal in April 2013, I could not access any of my prior archived editions. After asking for assistance for 5 months I asked for a refund and something was done to my account. I was then able to access my old editions, but had trouble each month downloading my new edition. I was able to get it to work for two months doing multiple Restores. Now, once again, I cannot access any archived editions and cannot download the December edition. Customer support does not provide any lasting resolution to the problem and four requests for a refund have been ignored. Buy at your own risk.

NOT one of the better magazine apps available. The pages look good on the ipad, but that is all. Many of the magazine apps out there now have interactive features which makes a subscription much more worth my while. I have come to expect that little bit of extra effort now. Food Network Magazine does the bare minimum (which is below the minimum in my mind). One of the biggest gripes I have is that there is no way to bookmark a page. (If there is, I haven't found it & it would be nice to be more user-friendly if it is out there.) Hidden amongst all the ad pages are of course the recipes (which is really why I buy the magazine in the first place). Sometimes I'd actually like to get back to the page (in a timely manner of course) with the recipe I would like to make, hence my want of an option to bookmark. If I buy any more issues for the ipad or choose to get a subscription, I'll get them via Zinio. (Their subscription price is the same too.) For not making the ipad version available to print subscribers - I guess I'll just continue to scan my paper copy into pdf format & move it over. This app really does nothing more than I was already doing.

Password. I can’t remember my password and I haven’t found a way to reset.

What happened?. It’s so sad how far this app has fallen. I used to luv this app and subscribed faithfully each month, but now I refuse to pay money for garbage. I don’t know happened...Sad

Another subscription?. I already subscribe to the print version, which is wonderful to view in the comfort of my home. When traveling, or at the supermarket, it would be wonderful to access my subscription via the mobile app. Having mobile access to my subscription would save me time, effort, and money. It would also make me a happy customer! As an unhappy customer I have the opportunity to cancel my subscription, go to my fave bookstore, sit down, view the mag, THEN decide if its worth my time, effort, and money to purchase. I currently subscribe to several other magazines who recognize the value of providing the free digital version as part of the print subscription. The biggest & most important value being the addition of new customers. For me, the digital age means uncomplicated, ease, time saving, & supporting my lifestyle. Anything that does not provide this, goes by the wayside. My print subscription runs out 10/13. If free digital access is not provided by then, I'll find another cooking magazine who does provide it, and I'll be sure to tell my friends. Sincerely, Your disappointed customer

Ok but needs improvement. I have not had the crashing issues other subscribers have had but do have some other issues and suggestions. The "shopping list" feature is a food idea and I was able to get it to come up, but don't know where the list is and how to access it. I also wish you could bookmark a page and be able to flip to those pages easily. I also wish you had the option to print or, at least, email a recipe to someone/yourself to save, like on the Food Network website.

Horrible. I love the food network and enjoy trying new recipes from the site and magazine but this app is horrible. I shouldn't have to delete and reinstall the app every time a new issue comes out. Now I can't get the current issue or even the other two I previously downloaded. I've sent two emails to tech support and finally got a response this morning, only to have them ask me more questions. I thought it would be nice to get the digital edition, you know, save a few trees and all. Just buy the paper magazine if you want the issue. I'll plant a tree in your name.

Not as good as it was. Clunky, page loading is horrible, and it’s a step backwards in user experience. Miss the old table of contents. Now it’s just ugly.

Excellent!. I was a bit skeptical to give up my print edition for just an online subscription, but I am loving all the the little extras I can. Like create a grocery list from a recipe or flag a recipe to try later. I love my books, but this has been really fun to explore the online advantages. So far I can't find anything wrong.

Very unstable app. I have been trying to use this app since October, 2012. I purchased a 1 year subscription and have only been able to download two issues. Two issues that I cannot read due to constant app crashes. Out of three magazine apps, this is the only one which does not work. Download times are insanely long and often crash. Customer service has been very unhelpful as far as solving the problem. I've never been anything but kind to customer service and all emails requesting a refund have been ignored for the past three months without reason. I will no longer pay for physical issues of this magazine due to being treated unfairly by ignoring my refund requests.

Love the magazine. I love the fact that I can get one of my favorite magazines on my iPad! The app is good but it could be better, it would be great to have the option to buy older issues (some of the magazines I've purchased on here let you buy back issues as far back as January, but not food network which is sad). Also a bookmarks feature would be awesome, put those things in and at least this user would rate five stars all the way!

Bring back old format! Wishing I had stuck with print edition.. Update: I have had nothing but problems with the digital content. The issues I have already paid for are now requiring me to pay to access the content. Customer service is terrible. I have not been able to find a phone number to contact them, and the back and forth emailing has gotten me nowhere. Very frustrated. I have lost all the recipes I used to have. Should have stuck with "real" cookbooks. I used to love this app until the most recent update. There is no longer the ability to make a "shopping list", which was one of the best features. It also used to read more like the actual magazine, with each page being uniform in size. Now you need to scroll down on some of the pages, but not on all of them. As a result, some recipes don't fit entirely on one screen, which detracts from the apps practical use while cooking.

Hate new ap. Hate the new version. Will not renew. Should have left it alone!

Food network mag app. I am becoming increasingly frustrated by this subscription because I have attempted to switch from hard copy to digital without success and because my account number is printed on the mailing sleeve (which I've thrown away) instead of the magazine, I can't access my account number. I resent the fact that food network doesn't allow you access to the digital version when you buy their magazine. Several other magazines that I subscribe to automatically give you digital access as part of the deal when you subscribe (i.e. Cooking Light). This app just wants you to subscribe again & offers no outlet to enter an existing account to gain digital access. I'm NOT a fan!

Great Magazine, perfect delivery. I'm not sure why this app has so many bad reviews. We are now in the digital world and buying this app is reasonably priced, convenient and way better than print. Food Network gets an A+ from me for this one! Next time your print subscription come due cancel it and buy the digital version.

Useless. Where’s the January issue?

More issues!. I only wish I didn't have to wait until March for another issue. I hate there not being an issue not dedicated to February. Makes me sad knowing when I'm looking at the new January issue, it will be another sixty days until the next one.

Great Magazine!!. Don't let the one star reviews fool you. Almost all of them are people complaining about not getting the iPad subscription for free. This is a very informative magazine with tons of recipes and great articles. The feature I like the best is the ability to click on a recipe and automatically add the contents to a shopping list. It makes shopping for recipes from this magazine so simple. I have only had one issue so far, but I can already tell I'm going to resubscribe next year.

Terrible app. This app is absolutely awful . There are always problem downloading an issue. It will be "unzipping" for a very long period of time. Often times having to delete the issue and start again. Another problem is already purchased subscription issue pretty much just disappearing and not being available to re-download. The only response from customer service is that they are aware of the problem and they appreciate our patience. I know I lost my patience after several weeks went by without any mention of a solution or any kind of update to the app. Digital edition is a waste of money, print subscription service wasn't that great either, I finally gave up on all forms of this magazine.

Disappointed. I'm thankful for all the reviewers saving me time from downloading the app. I agree, why do you have to pay for the eVersion if you are a print subscriber. Havard Bus Review, Fortune, Southern Living, Cooking Light, just to name a few all offer the electronic version of the magazine with the print version. Also, Cooking Light offers a scan feature with the magazine on your smart phone to save a recipe in your recipe box and create a shopping list. I was drawn to the Food Network Magazine app for the shopping list feature. How nice it would be if those recipes in the eVersion could be saved to the recipe box, integrated into the website and create a shopping list for you - that would be a great app. Too bad the app is a double charge for the print subscribers. :-( I'm moving to Cooking Light, even their books have the scan, save, shopping list feature.

I agree with zero stars!. New “improvements “ have basically made this app useless. I plan to cancel my subscription today.
