When hit keys, doesn't recognize!!. Would b great but it's only registering a few of the keys I hit when I play with my keyboard! The volume of the game when I perform is too loud so the game can't register that I played the keys. All it hears is the music!!! Please fix so I can try n use this app. I'd love to. Then I'd b able to fix this rating....

Not good. I am a professional pianist and the beats aren’t right. It also has bad timing and the player doesn’t play on the right time because of the confusion the player might be having.

It’s okay… But…. It needs better reactions to the sound of the digital piano or regular piano if someone is playing one. I’m playing a digital piano and I really want to work with this app without mashing a key repeatedly

Why do you need to sign in?. You can't even try this without signing in... And once you sign in, you have to sign in all the time or connect it to your facebook. I just want to play...

Awesome!!. Probably one of the best apps I have on my phone. It's so fun and addicting. You get to play by yourself and even get to play against others and win medals. The only thing I dislike is that you only get a starter pack of songs and have to buy the other sets. Amazing app overall! I'd recommend this to anyone!

Love the app. This is a great app for beginner piano students. My piano students love playing songs in the app. I've been using it to help reinforce reading music in a fun way for them.

Bought year subscription, didn’t work.. I bought a year subscription. It hasn’t unlocked anything. If you click on contact them in the app it says am address is required, they have my email address because I logged in with it. Contacted through App Store and heard nothing. Still trying to get resolved.

Why I don’t want to play app. Because playing the piano 🎹 is more than playing playing its what your hart wants to play you can right i song I want you you to play simple piano and the songs in the app is too esay I want you To go to a new level you always have to trie a new thing and this app is too easy

No Facebook pack?. I have been using this app for about a year now and it really helped me but recently I went to my app and my Facebook pack was gone. I'm sure they just got rid of it but why? Now all I have is the beginners pack and that kinda makes me mad.

Extremely satisfactory. 😁. This app is really fun, and a great way to learn piano; use it everyday. Just plz make a feature so that you can use photos as avatars because the fact that you can only use your Facebook avatar as an alternative to those listed is kind of annoying.

This is GREAT To learn your FAV songs and Learn. I Absolutely LOVE this app I have had it since I was about 6yrs old and I am now almost 11yrs old this is great when you want to learn how to play all kinds of songs and you can choose to play on the piano or on mobile there is simple and staff and you don’t need WiFi for the app except if you are doing a show.? You should definitely get this app it really helps thank you guys. Whoever made this game.❤️

Love it. It is amazing I recommended if you are a piano teacher. And you want to teach your students how to play piano. And you want them to be good when they are older it is good I love it so far you can even play without WiFi I play it with my hotspot if you don’t have a hotspot then just play with no WiFi recommend if you are bored sometimes

Good but needs a few more settings.. I downloaded this app to see if I could use it as a tool to help teach piano. The app had no problem picking up the sound of my piano, though it did register quite a few of the notes wrong (this is completely a fault of mine as my piano is not tuned). My one and only complaint about this app is that in staff mode, while you can toggle off the note labels, there is no way to toggle off the characters in place of actual quarter notes. In addition to this, the dark background in contrast to a white staff is completely opposite of the usual black staff against white paper. If there were ways to incorporate these settings while still allowing the app to play like a game, this would be perfect.

Avoid this annoying Crap-App. Downloaded this app to check it out .. when trying to exit app, it didn’t respond to swiping and developers provided no exit-switch ... or, hid it too well to find. Not worth the annoyance- dumped it within 20 minutes.

Read If You’re Thinking About Getting This App. So one thing is that this is a great app for teaching piano or just having fun. This app has 200+ songs to learn and play. If you get this app, when it asks you if you’re using it for teaching purposes or personal purposes, click teaching purposes. I clicked this even though I am not a piano instructor. The reason is that you can get all the piano songs for free. If you click personal, you have to buy songs and I wasn’t willing to do that. This app has different levels of songs. Here is a quick list of levels per age. Level 1 and 2 I’d recommend for 3-6 year olds Level 3 I’d recommend for 6 year olds Level 4 I’d recommend for 7-9 year olds Levels 5,6,7,8, and 9 I’d recommend for 10+ This app also has some flaws. The biggest one for me personally is that you can’t compose ( write ) your own songs. I know there are already many songs that I can play but I’d like to compose my songs because I teach my younger siblings how to play ( I am 18 years old they are 14 ). They just started playing and I’d like to compose songs from the Leila Fletcher books that they are currently doing such as “ Tiger Hunt “ and “ Slumber Boat. “ But over all I think this app is great and if you want a piano app, this is the one.

Gamer Girl. This is a good game but may I suggest that you put all piano songs and put them in selections and themes. Also maybe a place where you can write your own songs and share them last few is add more avatars and be able to see your medals and trophies thanks for reading this review! Meh. It’s a good app and all but it needs some improvements like to not exit me out when I’m done with the last song in the concert. Also if you don’t have the membership then the app is useless. It also does not teach you anything which is fine for me because I already know how to play the piano but if you don’t know how to play the piano then it is totally useless even with membership. The last thing that they should improve is to make all the memberships have a 2 year plan.

Won’t listen to piano. This biggest issue I have had with this app is that it rarely listens to my piano. Most times when the app starts up, I get a message saying that a midi instrument is connected and so the app will use that instead of listening to the piano. First, I have never connected a midi instrument to this iPad so what is the app recognizing. Secondly, why can’t I choose what the app should listen for instead of the app choosing for me. I like the concept of the app but not how the mechanics work.

App used to be so much better. I used to love this app when it would teach you music, such as incorporating the notes on a traditional scale, not any of this shape nonsense. The worst part is trying to know how long a note is, which messes up with your timing. Good for fooling around with, not for actual pianos learners.

It’s okay.... The only problem’s I’m having are it can’t connect to hear my piano and the price of getting a pack is too expensive it cost a lot of money and there isn’t much of the songs in one pack but making it cost 4$ come on that ridiculous!

It tells me to hit the wrong keys. When I was playing Mary had a little lamb it told me to hit G sharp and A sharp and I don’t know what to do for B it was stupid I want to wait a little before playing this again to see if nothing changes but until then it useless to me

Great app. This is a great app for beginners and kids. It's fun to play, and the concert mode makes it a game that you can keep playing over time. I wish there was an option to make the iPad keyboard as big in staff mode as the raindrop mode.

Best piano game There is!. This game is so good but when you make a account hit the teacher one because it gives you all the songs for free. JoyTunes is AMAZING! Definitely a 5-Star MUST HAVE if you love the piano! It definitely takes away your boredom during quarantine

Microphone won’t work :(. The mic will not hear the piano being played. I already checked all the setting and does not work. My 9 year old just started learning also on the simply app and that app recognizes the piano and mic has no problems. Super bummed out because this app looks much more fun than the simply app but unfortunately cannot use with real piano. :(

I hate this app!. It teaches me nothing. The timing is weird and it keeps saying I am playing the wrong note at the wrong time but I am not because I have known the song I was playing for four years! It is horrible and I deleted it within ten minutes of getting it.

I would like it if new songs were added I've already played just about every song there is on the game and would love to have some more. Fun but buggy on iphone4. Good fun app, but heaps of bugs with an iPhone4 keeps crashing out. I wish they looked after the folks without the latest hardware

So addictive. I love this game so much it teaches you how to play so many different songs. It great for all ages.some are a bit difficult but you get to practice any song ,the better you do a song the more coins you get and the more coins you get the more songs you can unlock. Great game!!

Just a little game.. I got this app because I wanted to learn to play the piano. On the add it was showing me the lady playing the game on a REAL PIANO. Plus, every time I get into the game after about 5 minute it starts crashing. I would not recommend this game if you want to learn to play piano on a real piano/keyboard. Edit: The game crashes exactly when I get into it.

Better when it was free. This app used to be free and you unlocked songs by getting achievements. NOT NO MORE! Since the update of this app the whole thing has changed and now requires you to purchase song packs. Had the quality just been updated and the app remaining the same then I would've rated it 5 stars but clearly this app is now just a cash grab from the creators. NOT HAPPY!

A fun app for those wanting some music skills.. Early days, but this is an enjoyable way to play simple tunes. No need to know much as the style is in the form of a game. I needed to take the reverb setting off the piano before I could successfully play. If you have had a bad experience trying to learn to play music then this app might change your mind.

So much fun. This is the best game. You can play on the screen or tilt the ipad up and play on a real piano. It's so interactive, and full of songs that are so familiar. If only piano was this fun when I was a kid, I would be like Beethoven by now.

I really love the new Dust Buster update with the concert and new jukebox applications, but in the new update page it said there were new songs like Rihanna, Game of Thrones theme and a few others but there don't seem to be on this program. Will there be another update including this missing a songs??

Great for adults too. Just found this app and started playing straight away after 20 years of not playing the piano, it all just came back to me with the help of this fabulous little app. Only criticism is that it sometimes doesn't recognise that I've hit a key, other than that its awesome!!!

Keep it up! **EDIT: Update 2020—still love this game—but there have been no new songs in several years. JoyTunes has also abandoned their (very fun) Piano Summer Games app and only seem to care about Simply Piano and Piano Maestro. We tried subscribing to these, but our kids did not like nor independently use them. Yet, they still LOVE this competition. Joytunes: MORE SONGS HERE—and PLEASE resurrect Piano Summer Games. These are the good ones. UPDATE: 2021: (sound of crickets…) … NOTE: we will not even try new guitarTunes ‘til JT wakes up. Music should not be just about the money. It’s decent. I love everything about this game except when I try to play on my piano with this app listening to it, I need my piano volume very high and my family would be able to hear my piano from the basement and I don’t want that. I also tried using a microphone but it still needs my piano to have a high volume so if you could fix this I’d be happy to download this again

Worst SCAM ever. There are no way to find where to unsubscribe, and therefore you end up being charged for a full year (closed to $200 CAD) even if you took the time to check you apple account subscription, and even within the app there’s no way to “cancel renewal of subscription”… it’s a piece of crap.

Its a good but confusing game. It’s a it confusing when your using a piano but if you use your iPhone or iPad it gets easier. Some of the songs are really hard but at least some are easy enough to do.

WOW! What a really bad game. First I’m gonna tell u a story then I’m gonna tell u app u SHOULD use instead. My mom wnt mah brother to ply piano like me. So we downloaded this app for him. He loves it so I wanted to try. BUT when u play the right key it say I’m wrong, just like Simply Piano. I was soooooooo mad that I was mad at this game. I told mah brother don’t use this app but keep using it! It works for him, but not me! Why? Well I was thinking this game is old. What app u SHOULD use is Yousician! Try it! :)

I used to go to piano classes beginner. Are used to go to beginner classes for piano and that’s why I know this sounds really good so I think I just got the app and I’m already doing a random rate so I just read this if I start just in case so I’m not sure what it’s really like but I think it’s gonna be fine because I take you know Beginner piano classes so yeah

Latest version crashes on startup. Well, things were okay with this app until it stopped working and started crashing. Please fix this problem, it's a good app.

Bas just bad. I mean the app itself is fine, but it’s sometimes too fast and sometimes too slow when it comes with pace. I played fur Elise and it sounded so off, like a completely different song. This goes for most of the songs. They are so different and unrealistic. The app is also really picky and fussy. One mistake can change everything. I would never recommend this. Boo.

Excellent for beginning piano students. This program does not teach hands together or bass clef. However for your beginning or primer level students this is an excellent tool for reading and playing in the treble clef with fun, fun games!!!! Great for rewarding piano students at any level for reaching goals too:)

Awesome Musical App. With each new update, this app just keeps getting better and better. I've had it for quite awhile and continue to enjoy it every time I play it. Even my husband loves to sit and listen to me play and I have never had a formal lesson. I esp. love being able to be part of a performance. Great app!. I use this app as sight reading practice for my piano students and they love it! Makes learning notes fun. I wish there was a way to turn off the letters next to the notes in the advanced mode to make it more difficult, and maybe even add in the bass clef too for a bigger challenge. Thanks for making a great educational music game!

Great tool for learning piano. This is app is the only one that I've found that listens to your real life piano instead of forcing you to play on an on-screen keyboard. Those who are more serious about wanting to learn should check out their other app called Piano Maestro for iPad which has a great lesson and learning system. I hope Joy Tunes plans to make Piano Maestro iPhone compatible as well.

Absolutely Amazing, but could use a few additional options. The game is great and is really educational. It has been great learning to sight read using this app but I think once you get familiar with the germ faces, it becomes more of a game than actual reading. I hope a later update will allow us to change the germs to music notes and/or turn off the key labels, to amp up the difficulty and to further the learning process

This app is one of the best out there!. I always wanted to learn the piano and with this app I could. I was already starting to learn but I found this through "Genius" and boy, this is will tune up the learning speed by a bunch. I can already play songs I thought I would never be able to play. I recommend this app to anyone that would like to play anything on the piano. If you're a teacher trying to teach students or a child that wants to play, you'll be able to take this app, and teach/learn how to play in a matter of no time. So please, just at least try the app once, you won't regret it.

Great for learning. I so enjoy playing songs on Dust Buster. My biggest beef is that notes are like a moving target and for some reason level 4 to level five changes in timing are so fast it becomes difficult to master. I really wish I could stop in the middle of a song and replay lines that are more difficult rather then having to start over and play the entire song again....just as you do on a real piano--replay the same line over and over or the same measures over and over until you get it and then move on to the rest of the song. Some songs in these packs are songs I just don't like. It would be really nice to be able to have more freedom to choose songs you like and know. Sometimes when hitting a note, your don't get credit for it. It just keeps going and you miss getting the credit.

Perfect for beginner and fun for advanced!. This is too darn much fun. It is actually hard to get the kids OFF the piano... "Just 5 more minutes before dinner, please?!" It is a blazing success in our house for getting the basics of staff reading and a love of piano in a fun and entertaining way. The only suggestion I would have is to add fingering recommendations on the germs (notes) for the crossovers.

DustBuster rocks. I love love love this app!!! It's a great and simple way to learn piano!! I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to brush up or begin on piano:) I only wish that you didn't have to use piano mania to play more difficult songs because I don't have an iPad and I wish the songs could get more advanced on dust buster:(

Im kind of surprised.... I thought this game looked like a joke when I first downloaded it. But I played it for only twenty minutes and i honestly think this is a fun way to get back into piano. I used to play piano and take lessons about ten years back, but I lost touch. 20 minutes!!!! That's how much time i have been playing and I can already tell you my sight reading has improved. Wow... Just... Wow. Bravo

GREAT APP 4 kids and Adults. Love IT !

Great upgrade from previous DustBuster. This is a much improved version of Piano Duster. Love the levels, it seems like more of a challenge and a game and love the concert mode. It takes the challenge to the next level. A+++ just wish they had one with two hands.

For Classroom Education. I use this application extensively toward the end of the school year for my music class students as a way to bring them closer to Music Reading and Technology together! They love it and if you time it correctly, 25-30 students can each play an appropriate song to provide the teacher with a method of assessment! Keep adding songs! I especially love the cross over into the Staff Buster - making the transition between "Game" and "Reading Music."

Best piano app ever. As a career piano teacher, I use Dust Buster with many of my young beginners. They benefit in so many ways, including rhythm, ear-training, white key identification, notation (in Staff Master mode), etc., while having a great time and mastering songs- ON A REAL PIANO! Scoring system makes it even more exciting & really motivates. Amazing selection on songs. Very highly recommended for all piano teachers & students. *only use "read piano"!

Great app. I Really like this app but I do have some suggestions. I would like it to tell me where my hands are supposed to be. sometimes my hand will be at the wrong position and I will miss a note and it will take me forever to figure out where my hands are supposed to be and I think it would be really nice if it were to tell us where our hands Are supposed to be.

It won’t let me in the app!. So I downloaded this because my piano teacher said to and it won’t let me in.

Use to love this. This use to be a fabulous app. But... When you started charging for more songs it literally ruined it for my students. They were so motivated to EARN more points to unlock songs. When you updated and went to in app purchases it ruined the motivational piece for them. As a music teacher this was a HUGE loss. I would rather pay for the app and go back to the old model. Please consider!

Just what I was looking for!. After playing around on a popular just hit the glowing dot and hear the piano music, I wanted to learn a little more about playing a real piano. This app appears to be the best of both worlds. I can start out on my iPad and then move to my real key board. I haven't tried that out yet, but if it works as smoothly as the touch mode, I'll be back to rate it 5 stars! The graphics are fun and the game format makes me want to keep trying. I also like that there are so many song options and the locked ones are for my learning benefit not for money only. I recommend it for kids and for all the rest of us who are kids at heart!

The bomb. This application is absolutely amazing. I cannot believe that it does everything that it does and is completely free. I have tried a lot of different applications and I really enjoy this one when I'm working with my kids on the piano. When using it on the real piano mode sometimes the audio feedback triggers the the notes that need to be played, but overall this is an awesome program for Beginners.

Really fun but fixing a couple of bugs would help!. I really enjoy playing this game but I'm kind of hitting a ceiling because of a couple of issues with the practice mode, the biggest of which is that you can't practice one section of a song repeatedly. When you're practicing a song on the piano, you repeat the areas you're having problems with until you get it right and then put the whole song together; DustBuster makes you play the whole song through. If they fixed this it would really make a difference in skill levels players could legitimately reach.

Excellent application for teaching piano basics. This app has been amazing. My son spends hours playing it (as much as we will let him) and has taught himself the basics of playing piano without any formal instruction. It works very well for those kids that might not learn as well in a traditional piano lesson setting. It works really well if you have a keyboard or piano that you can pair with it, as it helps them transfer what they learn on the the app to the actual piano keys. My husband was an elementary music teacher for nine years and even he's impressed with it :-) I was a little wary to spend the money for all the songs but it has truly been the most used app for my eight year old and my five year old is just getting started but can easily do it as well.

We became premium members. We got a keyboard for our kids to learn Piano. After playing around with multiple Apps we decided that this is the best to make learning piano and sight reading music fun. There are tons of songs, the app listens as we play, and we can learn with real music on a staff. It is easy enough for my 3 year old to get, my 6 year old loves it, and my wife and I are able to play around and our piano lessons from childhood are coming back.

Great way to start playing the piano. I inherited an organ from my Grandfather's estate, and have no idea how to play the piano. This app allows me to at least start playing some music on it. It's been a long time since I had to read sheet music, so hopefully this app will help me learn what keys are where so I can make use of the old German sheet music that came with the organ.

Wow!. This app is amazing! Get it NOW!!! Seriously, stop reading this and download the app. Why are you still reading!?! OK, fine, you don't want an app that teaches piano in a fun, dynamic and joyful manner. I get it, you just like to look at reviews. In that case this app is chock full of reviews! Just play all of the songs on hard and you unlock them. Also you will have learned about musical staff notation and how to play the piano at a basic level. Also you will enjoy it. Also there aren't any reviews, I lied about that. But you should get this app anyhow because I am just some random guy not associated with the designers. They shouldn't suffer because of my silly review and you shouldn't be deprived of this great experience. So get going! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Really good gamification of piano learning. We use this with a digital piano and USB, but it also works with acoustic pianos and using the microphone to listen. The app is used by me sometimes, but mostly by my six year old to support piano lessons. This is a lot more fun to practice and my kid regularly asks to play the "piano-granny-game".

I hate everything. It it super hard I haven't even learned some of those keys I like when they teach you more!!!!

Very awesome app!. Love the app, just recently started using it and today tried it for the first time with an actual keyboard. It's SO nice that nothing has to be hooked up to it for the app to recognize the notes you're playing. It would be nice though if it suggested finger placement. I'm not sure which key position my hand is supposed to be in to properly play the songs.

Amazing, fun, inspiring!!!. Piano Dust Buster will make you -or your kids- want to learn to play the piano. It's amazingly well done, using well known songs to make learning fun and easy. The technology to let you play your own real piano and have the app tell if you're playing correctly is nothing short of astonishing. Best of all, this is not merely a game like Garage Band, it TEACHES TO READ REAL MUSIC on a real staff, so that you can move on from the game and continue learning and playing on your own. Only wish: more advanced levels and songs, for those who want to continue learning with this delightful, amazing app!

Fantastic app - but some bugs need taking care of. I have to admit that I am an adult and this app is really meant for children… but its a very fun way to at least attempt to learn the piano. Thwacking dirt off the imaginary keyboard is strangely addictive. I have no previous experience and am not musical but in a week or so could passably play along to both Katy Perry and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony (clearly covering all the greats!) More than five stars for this! There are some annoying bugs and also some possible improvements. Bugs include sometimes it is incredibly slow to load. You can make and drink a coffee in the time and sometimes it just gives up and crashes altogether. Occasionally it doesn’t record the score and, most annoying, sometimes fails to recognize a note from the piano so I end up plonking middle C 16 times or so before it recognizes and calibrates the game. These bugs would be good to fix, but they don’t seriously let it down. As improvements, as others have said it would be nice if you could slow down a tune to help to learn or play a segment. I also think it would be good if there was a headphones mode as I live in an apartment and while listening to the keyboard is simple - the rest of the floor isn’t as keen. Overall though a great app.

Good music game with potential!. At first looks, this app looks like a poor clone of other play along apps like piano hero or magic piano ... but further inspection actually shows that compared to those others, this app really tries to implement a smart learning concept to teach music note reading to players. The songs range from basic simple stuff to relatively challenging stuff (this coming from a dip grade piano player) so everyone is catered for. I have to commend some of the piece arrangements which are really unique and entertaining. Well worth a download and worth the effort to learn (works best if you have some fundamental basics in music notation reading but is not necessary) Suggestions to developer: some "germs" are hard to differentiate on fast/hard/high level songs when they have accidentals .... maybe a clearer/larger # or b icon can be used.

AWESOME. BEST GAME EVER. It is SO cool. It listens to any piano, and it is accurate. I learned how to read music in 5 minutes. And it SO FUN 😄

Great App for beginners!. This is exactly what I was looking for in an education piano app. You set the iPad on a real life piano and learn to plink out songs. Later you associate the notes on a staff with the sound you hear. The whole time you have the feel of real keys under your fingers. I truly hope that we will see this expanded for more advanced players or adult learners. I would spend good money on that.

GREATapp!. I have been playing piano for 30-plus years and at first I thought this app looked too juvenile. Wrong! It is a fun, challenging game that can apply to many skill levels. The song selection has been great so far (and I haven't paid any money yet!). Definitely my favorite piano app by a mile!

Awesome piano app for beginners. I just got an electric piano and just put my ipad on top and start playing with this app. It's so much fun learning songs and it picks up the notes perfectly. Keep up the good work and keep on adding song!!! Best app in this category I've found. Thank you

Frustrating but fun. This game is good except for a few things. The first is that it glitches (A LOT) when I'm in practice mode and on showtime. This causes frustration for me because most of the time I am using an acoustic piano. If I am playing the song for my family it sounds crappy because I have to redo the notes. Then it messes me up and I have to start over. The second reason is that I wanted to download it on my iPad but I couldn't because mine is an older version and there is no way for me to accomplish this. Also though this has nothing to do with this app, I am not able to download piano maestro either on my iPad for the same reason. Please fix and I will add a fifth star!

Epic app with some quirks. Homeschoolers starting music lessons for our kids with the piano they found under the Christmas tree. Excited to find this app. Even more excited after first trying it. Only quirk is that the app is not always able to distinguish between notes played in quick succession. For the musically inclined, this means that anything faster than a half note may not be registered properly in the game. This makes for a difficult experience with some of the more advanced songs. Still, it's a blast, and the entire family is lining up to learn the piano.
