I was excited to get this app and start using it! Unfortunately there is no way to even sign up. I get thru all the steps and and then choose a user name and then it says "there was a problem with the returned data from the server". Super frustrating and I've tried about 10 times to create an account. Will be deleting and never re-downloading.

I HIGHLY suggest they change the pricing of the app. They should offer a one time purchase for the gold upgrade rather than paying monthly. This would set it aside from the competition and I would gladly pay for gold. Until that day I will continue to use the free version. If they are concerned this may be unfair to those who have already paid, they should simply reduce the cost of upgrading by however much a current gold member has already paid in monthly fees.
Although overall it is a great app for weight loss.
This app has a very extensive data of packaged and fresh food which includes how much protein, fat and carbs are in each serving. It's easy to track and see on a chart, exactly what goes in my belly.

This app is definitely 10 stars. It's great for gaining or losing weight. It's so cool how you can scan food as well. I would totally recommend.
Can I go back to the old version?
I preferred MyPlate over MyFitnessPal because it was much easier to view all the information in a pleasing layout on one screen, and it was simple to use. Now I have to click extra buttons to add food and see the graph, etc. So disappointed. I'm going to hope I get used to it, but I'm also going to look elsewhere.
PS Does anyone really need to see their weight on the 'home' page? I think we all know what we weigh unless the app knows something we don't. That info is taking up valuable space, like where the graph used to be...useful information without having to 'click'.
I love the way the app looks great however the recent update is not to my taste- I preferred the last interface.
It's easy to use if you're not going for a specific diet and just want to keep track of what you eat. It would be nice if it tracked the amount of vitamins and minerals too. I find t hard to get the amount of zinc I need.
The community is a bunch of bullies and trolls who can't except that their diet is the holy grail to everyone's weight loss. They fail to understand that everyone is different. Different diets work for different people. For the longest time I kept getting notifications for then ones I have already viewed and it took weeks to fix this... no help from livestrong at all...
The app has problems receiving data from my step tracker app and is very bad at calculating the amount of calories I burned (only 30 calories for 3 miles? Come on....). I can tell I burned more than that because my blood sugar has already dropped and I've probably burned off breakfast and lunch.
I have had great success with this app and that's the thing I do like about it. <3
What were they thinking?
What were they thinking when they added keystrokes to the interface without any added functionality? For an app like this to be actually used, it has to facilitate fast data entry. The new version slows data entry by adding completely unnecessary keystrokes, so it's less useful.

I've used this app off and on for several years. If you click on the "i" the sodium and other info pops up (if the food is verified).
Now that I am getting more serious about clean eating and weight management, this app will be a great partner.
I said out to eat healthier and exercise more. The barcode scanner makes it easy to feed the program household foods. Works best on larger (than iPhone 4s) format screens. Actually kind of enjoy the community aspect.
