  • Love the organization of the lessons

    By VoidUniverse
It's great to be able to go directly to lessons on the topics I'm learning in school. My only, yet large complaint is you can't replay the phrases spoken. It is very helpful to hear it over and over. Give us that function and I'd give this 5 stars.
  • Sometimes Good

On the phone keyboard I have to constantly switch to the punctuation and then back. I make a lot of stupid goofy typing mistakes that slow me down. I wish I could tell Babbel that I don't want to type so much. Pronunciation is very helpful but I spend more time typing. I need to SPEAK French, not type it on my phone.
  • Not a fan

It's difficult and frustrating. I'm not understanding anything after 3 months. I have many French apps and this is my least favorite.
  • Excellent learning app

In the past I had purchased, and completed, the Rosetta Stone French course. It was useful but Babbel is far superior. In particular it is very helpful in its detailed explanation of the meaning and usage of the many words and expression, whereas Rosetta is a pictures-only tool. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to self study a language.
  • Great style and very easy if you apply yourself.

I've only taken 2 years of French in high school and i was very interested in it. I wanted to start learning it again but did not want to take a college course. My boyfriend introduced me to this app and I fell in love. It's actually pretty fun and I'm learning a lot. I did buy the monthly package but it is worth the money if you are really wanted it use the app often. I try to us the app at least 15 - 30 minutes a day.
  • The best

    By Doc.lock
I have been learning French on my own for about 4 years. I have used many apps and programs, blogs, you tube channels and books. Some are free, some expensive, some good and some poor. Overall, Babbel has helped me the most. It has a good mix of practicality and grammar that has made me more comfortable in conversation. I like best that it does not oversimplify and does not condescend while explaining difficult points of grammar. It is not free, but the price is reasonable and much less than many other comparable programs. I am so happy I tried Babbel after having been disappointed many times by similar apps.
  • Worth every penny

As a compete beginner for French, Babbel makes an excellent complementary learning tool that I can use in spare times such as coffee breaks.
  • Great way to learn

    By MaBlackStudio
I have been enjoying learning French with Babble. The modest cost seems well worth the online course and the phone app makes it easy to learn anywhere! The speech component occasionally gets glitchy, but overall I find it fairly seamless.
  • Very good tools to learn French. Worth the money.

Very good tools to learn French. I especially like the pronunciation help, although The evaluation of your pronunciation using the microphone seems to screw up sometimes in a noisy environment. So far it's better than other courses I have tried.
  • NOT FREE!!!!

    By Writer V
So I'd downloaded this app before reading any of the reviews...my mistake!! The app is NOT FREE!! I use Duolingo, but thought I'd try out a different app just because😞!! So I've removed both Babbel French & Italian because I'm not about to pay a monthly fee when it doesn't even come close to the satisfaction I get with Duolingo!!! I'll stick with Duolingo....the AWESOME FREE APP that I have had no problems with & have even recommended to friends!!! Thanks Duolingo!!
  • Seems good...

    By S.E.Palmeiras
... but don't get fooled, they advertise this app as a free language course, and guess what? It's not! They give you only the first lesson for free, if you want to keep learning you will have to pay
  • Very good interface

    By Daglipinank
Easy to navigate through the app, and very good user interface with vocabulary, review sections
